- Lucas: Ciao again, and welcome back to Learn Italian with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. We're so glad you're here for episode 24. Lucas: Last time we went to the market and learned fruit names. Today, let's keep counting. Luna: Oh yes! We already know uno to dieci from earlier episodes. Lucas: Exactly. Time to go further — numbers eleven to fifteen. Luna: Nice and small. I'm ready. What's eleven? Lucas: Eleven is undici. Let's say it together: undici. Luna: Undici. Lucas: Perfect. Undici. It means eleven. Luna: Undici sounds a bit like 'undecided' but with a 'ci' at the end. I like it. Lucas: Nice connection! Now twelve: dodici. Say it with me: dodici. Luna: Dodici. Lucas: Yes! Dodici. Luna: Dodici, like 'dodecahedron' but shorter. Lucas: Exactly. Now thirteen: tredici. Try it. Luna: Tredici. Lucas: You've got it. Tredici. Luna: Sounds like 'tray-dee-chee'. Got it. Lucas: Fourteen: quattordici. A bit longer. Listen: quattordici. Luna: Quattordici. That's a mouthful. Lucas: It is. Quattordici. Break it down: quat-tor-di-ci. Luna: Quattordici. Okay, I think I got it. Lucas: And finally fifteen: quindici. Say it? Luna: Quindici. Lucas: Bravissima! Quindici. So we have undici, dodici, tredici, quattordici, quindici. Luna: Let me try them all in a row: undici, dodici, tredici, quattordici, quindici. Lucas: Perfect! Except watch the 'quattordici' — you said 'quatordici' but it's 'quattordici' with a double t. Luna: Ah, quattordici. Double t. Got it. Lucas: Let's do a tiny story. Imagine you're at a café and you want to order five pastries. Luna: Okay, I'm there. Lucas: The waiter says 'Quanti ne vuole?' — how many would you like? You say 'Cinque, per favore.' That's five. Luna: Cinque. But we're learning eleven to fifteen today. Lucas: Right. So maybe you want thirteen: 'Tredici, per favore.' Luna: Tredici pasticcini? That's a lot. Lucas: Or just a number for your room in a hotel. 'La camera numero quattordici, per favore.' Room fourteen. Luna: Quattordici. Room fourteen. I can do that. Lucas: Let's practice all five again. Repeat after me: undici. Luna: Undici. Lucas: Dodici. Luna: Dodici. Lucas: Tredici. Luna: Tredici. Lucas: Quattordici. Luna: Quattordici. Lucas: Quindici. Luna: Quindici. Lucas: Excellent! Now from fifteen down to eleven: quindici, quattordici, tredici, dodici, undici. Luna: Quindici, quattordici... wait, I forgot tredici? Let me try again. Quindici, quattordici, tredici, dodici, undici. Lucas: You did it! That's perfect. Luna: Yay! I love counting down. Lucas: Now let's use them in a mini conversation. I'll ask 'Quanti anni hai?' — how old are you? And you answer with an age between eleven and fifteen. Luna: Okay. Let's say I'm twelve. 'Dodici anni.' Lucas: Perfect. And if someone asks you 'Quanto costa?' and the answer is thirteen euro? You say 'Tredici euro.' Luna: Tredici euro. That sounds easy. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. I say the English, you say the Italian. Eleven? Luna: Undici. Lucas: Twelve? Luna: Dodici. Lucas: Thirteen? Luna: Tredici. Lucas: Fourteen? Luna: Quattordici. Lucas: Fifteen? Luna: Quindici. Lucas: So good! You're ready to use these numbers in real life. Luna: I feel like I can count to fifteen now. Undici, dodici, tredici, quattordici, quindici. Lucas: And next time we'll go even higher. But for now, practice these five numbers. Luna: Absolutely. Thanks Lucas, and thanks to all our listeners for joining us on Fexingo. Lucas: Remember, repetition is your friend. Say them out loud, count things around you. Undici, dodici, tredici, quattordici, quindici. Luna: Ci vediamo alla prossima volta! Lucas: Yes! See you next time. Ciao!
