- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: How's it, Bill's Mafia?
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to New Episode of the Triple Coverage podcast on the built-in Buffalo Network presented by Monster Energy Drink, the official energy drink of built-in Buffalo.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: We have a loaded show tonight, it includes putting a bow on training camp for the latest happenings and a game being played on Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, say, anything happening today for me, I picked up a box of Snickers ice cream bars with Josh Allen Space on the front of the box, so that was pretty exciting.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: And speaking of Josh Allen, one place he won't be is on the field on Saturday.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to that in a moment.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's up, shoot.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing much.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he will be on the field.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: He just won't be playing.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: But then the playing field, he'll be on his pipeline, which is not the field.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: But pretty good.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we've got some some hard knocks this past week.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: He got some actual live football where the bills this Saturday.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Another recloser.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just, you know, it shouldn't for it to be the regular season, but we're getting closer week by week.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, plenty to talk about.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: Big week, it's game week kind of, but I'll imagine the bill's broke training camp goodbye to St.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: John Fisher moving on back to the normal practice facility for a bit more regular cadence with preseason games coming up.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: It was fun to watch hard knocks the week will break down a little bit later.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: It was cool to see some of our guys go Hollywood and the Yankees finally want to game yesterday.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: So that was a nice, nice change of pace.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I missed it.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's be honest, you were buying those Snickers ice cream bars that they had Josh Allen on or not.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: They had them in a very convenient spot, right?
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: I had to pick up some Sprite Zero for the wife and coming right up the aisle out of that, bam, Snickers and Twix.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking for the butterfinger to be honest with you, but they didn't have the butterfinger ice cream bars sitting there and disappointed, but took the Snickers and ran with it.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, us Buffalo or our simple folk, if you put Josh Allen's face on anything, they will buy it.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty pretty easy marketing esteem.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you mentioned the yes on the house.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, go ahead.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Cool.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was just going to take it from the top.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: You got game week.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: Giants coming to town or basically the bills beat him with the amount of former bill players and front office people they have.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: They said the starters are going to play maybe the first quarter, maybe not that much minus Josh Allen.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: So, so Lance, what are your initial thoughts on the game?
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: Just a preseason.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: Are you okay with the starters playing?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: How much do you want them to play?
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: This is whatever you want to take.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm really excited right for the offense and deep and defensive line men, right?
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: This is my first real look at live competition for these guys coming in.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: So very excited to see the ones get some reps there because they'll also get them on film where we can watch that back and and just see where people are at, you know, see how how their reps go.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, not expecting perfection out of the gate here from those folks, but looking forward to just getting an eye on them in a little bit of more near
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: live action, I guess, then you did really at training camp.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: I know that everyone wants to potentially say they're going to go hard and they're going to be competing, but I just it's not the same level.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: This is another team across from you.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be a different level of competition and different level of effort quite honestly.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm glad they're playing some of the starters because you've seen teens in the past not play starters throughout the preseason or most notably the bangles have never really played their starters early on in the preseason and they start out slow.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: You see teens start little slow because they're still getting into it because they haven't played that full preseason.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not too concerned with obviously Josh playing because you know, when you've a quarterback of that of that caliber most of the time, they can adjust relatively faster.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: but especially with the O line, D-line racers.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you want them to be able to get in there, get some live action.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: So it's gonna be good.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be fun.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: This giant seems an interesting team.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to just where they're at, because they have Russell Wilson, they go after Jackson Dart, you know, they obviously like scats that have a lot of old bills.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're forget about James.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: Janice, they do have Janice as well.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: I can't forget about Janice because every day is the Lord's day as as he quoted on Saturday.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not mistaken.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Every day.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it's going to be a fun wonder to be able to see these guys even if it's against a team that's not a superior team when it comes to depth.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's good to see these guys come in compete.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to see who can stand out see if some of the guys that in training camp that are standing out can now transfer against the not that at another team other than their own teammates.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, just excited and that will see who who makes good impression.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but this point of training camp.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're just ready to hit somebody that isn't their teammate.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: So people are always torn and whether or not starter should play in the preseason.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a good kind of like happy medium.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: You play them here and there, but the days of the starters basically playing a full half or maybe even three quarters of that third preseason game are probably long gone.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: At least for a team like the bills where
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: There's not a ton of necessary like spots like starting spots that are up for grabs just because this team is so established.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's like you said excited to see the offensive line defensive line and full pads.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: going full go, not just given like a pop on the ball carrier and let them go excited to see the rookies see what they got because it seems like we have a pretty exciting class from training camp, but there's only so much you can tell until you see them out there on the field.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: You guys have anything else about this preseason game?
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think three minutes is probably about as much time as any preseason game can get.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do just want to mention that you've mentioned how it's weird to see starters playing for a long time.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm wondering what the Browns are going to do with their five quarterbacks and they'll just play them like every other bribe because you have so many, but I just want to throw that up to because it's just one of those teams where it's like compared to the bills, you're going to probably put a lot of different guys in where the bills, you know, you kind of are seeing a lot of the backups in general.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know should door is starting.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: It was a tomorrow they play.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then yeah, after that, you got Bill and Gabriel Flacco, who probably doesn't need much of a free season.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: Probable or snoopontally.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna pick it pick it.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: So apparently there might keep all four quarterbacks, which is a very brown thing to do.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not a late surprise for the game that Mitch Tribisky's starting.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: with the ones but it is a little bit curious because it's sort of seemed like there was a little bit of a competition too though with Mike White potentially having a little bit of an edge in performance during the camp but I know that they like Mitch a lot swipes here and I thought that you know Mike White was getting some praise from people saying that he may be
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that there may be a competition now and even mentioning that there is a competition meant that he was showing something and just never hasn't yet.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: It will see what their plans are in game two.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they start Mike White with the ones there just to give them some even playing time.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: But I just thought it was interesting that Mitch is going to be the starter with the ones probably not surprising.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: I just feel like it's interesting given that their may or may not be a competition there.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: What do you feel about that?
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: You've noted that.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: I know I pulled a lance, sorry.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, when it comes to that, it through the day, it's one of the things where you hope it doesn't matter if there is one or not, but I do think, especially for guy when it comes to the, you know, Mitch.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you know, what he's got, but at the same time, he's getting older.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: So can a guy like Mike White push him and make the bills make that decision of, hey, you know, he's on the books, Mitch is on the books for a little bit of money.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: We don't care in case Josh gets hurt.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: We want still want to go with Mike White, but I don't think the bills care too much because I think at this point, and you know, I think Scott said in half shows when it's, when it comes down to back up quarterback, it's pretty much just whoever Josh Allen really wants.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, Fred, you have to be friends with some, or you know, you have to, you have to be in that.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's, at the end of the day, it's going to come down to that, unless the bills have a very wide rate, like, wide discrepancy and talent at those two and three positions.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we'll end up being Mitch, but I'd be, if Mike White can push him, we can push him.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think Mitch wins the job.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I think contract wise, there's some guaranteed money there that they would have to pay them.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Mitch's play style fits the offense a little bit better as well.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: God forbid something happens to Josh Allen.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: Mitch, a little bit more mobile, despite Mike White, the AFC player the week back in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in,
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I said, it's not surprising to me by any means.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's interesting to note that he is named the star there and we'll see if the plan changes for game two maybe where I don't expect Josh really to play.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: If he plays it all likely in maybe game three versus any other game, but we'll see how that all pans out and
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if Mike White ends up even getting an opportunity to start with the ones at any capacity or even play with them a little bit the first quarter.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: See how many snaps.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Mitchell take, but just something to that I found intriguing about this.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: As much intrigue as you can have about preseason week one, I'd thought maybe the quarterback situation might be one of the more intriguing lines outside a kicker.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's how it was.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get a little bit, but probably the biggest story in Bill's campus week, and I'm sure people are tired of hearing it so well.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: We'll keep it brief, but James Cook has been holding in the past week.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: Showed up to mini camp, he showed up to training camp, he practiced fully, and then all of a sudden on Sunday, he just decided, I'm done now.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: So a little bit of an interesting strategy, he kind of wonder if maybe it means they're close to a contract extension.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: Or maybe it needs to really far away.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: So he's trying to do something drastic to get the bills attention.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have any doubt that he's going to be the bills running back come week one.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: You don't love that he's not practicing with the team, but then what are your thoughts on it and how do you think this ends and I guess when?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: One, I know that there were reports that they were reportedly somewhat close on a deal.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see a deal happening at the fore, before the season starts.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I think once the season starts, Coco Beann failed.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: They'll stop any talks until after this season.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Usually, I believe that's how being likes to work.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't usually like to talk in season extensions.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I do know I saw a comment.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: I believe Joey.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Joey, I believe he was there this past day.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't skipped a full day as he didn't even show up.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: He just has been still doing walkthroughs.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he just might not make his presence felt when people are there.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so he hasn't that's the good part is he hasn't fully skipped out, which then things might get a little bit messier when it comes to, oh, well, you're not even showing up at all.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: But if one of those things were, you know, you
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: You, I'm not shocked by it, and it doesn't seem like many of the players or coaches are even being as like too concerned about it.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: I saw an interview with him.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: This past week, we're talking about it.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, he said, you know, the basics of I am a little disappointed or, you know, your hope that he wasn't.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: wasn't the hope that it came to this, but he's still, you know, I think they still expect him to be on the football field.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: So it doesn't seem like anybody's too concerned.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: And to quote dodgeball, I mean, it's the movie dodgeball.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's a ball.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was going to say, let's ensure what I would have to do.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: All the strategy cotton because it is, it is, if it is, if it's agent's talent under it, it's like what this isn't going to do any good for you because of the fact that now you're missing practices.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: Holdings or holdouts rarely work for at least running backs, it seems.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_03]: You see what work though?
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you see it with receivers a lot.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: It works or you've seen it with, you know, I can't remember actually the last quarterback that's done it.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: Ad rushers, but I feel like running backs either doesn't work till after the season.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: They start up at Hot Talks or it's a two days in and they get a deal done or it seemed like this has been going on for months and months and months.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: I did work for his brother.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: It did work for his brother and then it didn't work out for the Vikings because he was caught two years later into five year extension.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe the bills are looking at that and saying
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: Why would we extend it?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: It would work out.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, we'll see.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: I did hear months ago that he did get offered that three year, eleven million dollars per year contract.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: And it seems like, it seems like he declined it and, I don't know, he just got that same deal.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't, I don't know what to get if they can circle back to that.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: And if he changed his mind, but yeah, yeah.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: He had turned that down for a few months ago, it seems.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: And Colin Kaepernick did not get signed by the Cleveland Browns Joey.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, did he get signed?
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't been in the league since what?
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: He's been staying in shape.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, but he's been staying in shape for what?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: Eight years now since Josh Allen has been rookie, but yeah, no, he did.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: As far as I know, he did not get signed anywhere, but I don't even know if he got worked out.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, when it comes to cook, I'm not too worried.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: He'll start recording.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, anti on anything other than that.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, just about the James Cook thing.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I already said that I think he's going to be the week one star, like you mentioned, um, as far as that goes.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, uh, have much else to say about it.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting the way these tactics
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: are played out and I don't know, it doesn't do much for me, so I don't really have too much more than that.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: Just wish it was not happening and they can get past it.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, like it's just a part of how the game is played.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like McClellan told him now, Parsons is holding out.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: Carson, maybe, has a bit of a reason to be trained.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: His owner called him Michael.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: But like James Cook said, it's just business.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like it really just what it is.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: Fortunately, this is how the game is played.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: Whether it gets some contractor not remains to be seen.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess his camp felt like they had to do something.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: It is being a good soldier wasn't getting where they wanted to get.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: So hope it doesn't affect anything.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: Hope for his sake.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: He gets his deal done.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what he hopes to accomplish.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like the bills aren't.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like the bills are in a spot where they don't need to cave to him not being there because they're so deep and just the next man.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'll type thing, but it is just how the game is played.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and with the contract of Kyron Williams, this hurts James Cook more because Kyron Williams was efficient.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's a very efficient running back and he was pretty good in the passing game.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: We're having to get eleven million per year for three years.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a good look if you want fifteen in James Coke and you played forty eight percent of the staff.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: So just want to throw that out there as well.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I get three for thirty three.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like the bill's given three for thirty five.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe even thirty six should get it done a little bit higher than that.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, the market's kind of been set for what he is and it's not safe on Barkley money because he's not safe on Barkley.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: Very good player.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: just not say Con Barclay.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately for us, and that one honestly.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: So moving along, this is going to be some good podcasting because I'm just going to read a list for a second.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: But the bill's had a lot of injuries.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's another reason James got to tell him how he sees something going on with that same John Fisher turf.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: He wants no part of it.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he'll come back now, they've left.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: But the big one, Shakir has a high ankle sprain.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's supposed to be back for the regular season opener, but with those, you never really can't tell.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's in a boot, but that's very normal.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: Bishop's still out with a quad.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're at the out with a knee for a week.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: Samuel doing with a hamstring, Alka Anderson still has his knee.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Caden Pray there has something going on, which I forgot.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then a whole laundry list of others putting, how enjoyable in the protocol.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: And we don't have a kicker unless that kicker is going to be Ray Davis, but if they keep moving the way the kickoff thing works, maybe you don't want a kicker who can kick it for.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: It would be nice to kind of pin them in there.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: Are you guys giving any concerns yet with any of these injuries?
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: I know last week we said we weren't too certain or a weak closer to the season now.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: What are you thinking Lance?
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm still not overly concerned.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: I obviously not having a kicker for Saturday's game as a slight concern.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm disappointed about, you know, a sadric fan praying cranger is still being out and not being able to get on the field.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, I feel bad for him.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: He may
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, lose there's not a big path.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: as it stands to the roster and his chances of filling out and showing some growth there are now limited even more limited by his absence.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: So Shack Thompson, I thought was a guy that kind of came in and was in the right spots on day two when I was there.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, unfortunate for him not to be out there as well, I guess, but other people getting opportunities is good.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: going into the protocol maybe a concern there because I think he was starting to gain some traction for a decent role potentially and that kind of stifles that a little bit although doesn't necessarily be rallied completely.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I do feel bad for those younger guy like Praturs out here, you know, he's trying to make the practice squad or something like that and it's sort of if they spent a draft pick on him, he's still got to leg up in that endeavor but
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, you know, some of these guys could really use this time for the repetition and also to just to show, you know, what they have.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: And it's fine.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know, there's a lot of time still left.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I know everyone in the building in one bill's drive is going to be patient with a lot of these guys.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then just is not, not super concerning, but mildly concerning about some of the guys, you know, Genshin Bishop.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, it's just a second straight,
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: preseason where he's missing things and I was thinking about this when I was listening to McDermott's press conference today like he even brought up Mike a high in Jordan players relationship and communication and saying how that's not really there now and hasn't really been there and I think one of the big
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: things I always talk about when we talk about the defense and how successful it's going to be is communication because that is really what made it so special with those two back at safety and now that though that relationships not there there hasn't been maybe for an art and monologue start to foster that relationship and have that similar cohesion but just I think the safeties and the defensive backs kind of need those two in the backfield and the defensive backfield two to really
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: have that level of communication established prior to the season.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully he gets back, hopefully we can get that established even further and make sure it's sort of seamless by the time week one rolls around.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I want to echo off of that talk about the safety because he had the coal bishop.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there was talks about how he was taking that step as a leader and just really communicating well.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: But now that he's out to Lance's point, it's like,
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: There's a halt pair.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: So can you come back and continue to grow on that communication and get better with that?
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, when it comes to the overall injuries, I'm not worried.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: There are certain players that you wish are out there.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're being one secure.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not too worried about just because you know that he'll come back and hopefully be good.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: Curtis Samuel, another guy where like you just don't want him to get off to a slow start just because of kind of another injury, like kind of out last year was where he wasn't on the field.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: It was a very slow start for him.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: Wrap.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: More so to not because of a slow start, but more sort of the point of what Lance said, you just want both of your safety is out there.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, it's good to get the backup some playing time, but when it comes down to it next week, two weeks from now, you want them at least progressing to the point where they can
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: be on the field through whatever rockers or whatever it is communicating, talk and looks.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe even if they're on this to even the sidelines, next to each other, talk and hate, when we're out there, this is what we see.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: So you just want them to be able to grow that part of the game.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously, you know, it sucks for some of these these younger players that aren't the opportunity to be out there like ran, ran, ran, grainger, grable,
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: But at the end of the day, you still want those guys that are going to get more of the playing time to be out there, especially once it starts getting closer to the season.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then yeah, kicker.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't, I feel like there might be a little bit more urgency if it was something that they were concerned about.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: I did see Roy's comment there that, you know, maybe they do come sign one and they've had a couple in.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, they haven't really had
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: They haven't shown that urgency, I think, you know, if they're waiting till a day before a preseason game of like, oh, we need desperately to get a kicker just for a pass.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: So kicker, I'm not too worried.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, maybe we do see a little bit already Davis out there this this Saturday if they don't sign somebody.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, I mean, I wouldn't be mad at going for two every time.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I'm free to see them, you know, absolutely.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they worked out two figures, Caden Davis and John Hoyland.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: I unfortunately remember Caden Davis.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: He missed a kick by a country mile against Kentucky last year to lose me a bet.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I remember that guy.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, obviously the injuries aren't great, but kind of in the same spot I said last week, the Shakira ones of bummer, Maxwell Harris, and obviously didn't bring him up because he isn't a new injury.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: You hope those guys come back and don't miss any games just because they are going to be important arts.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: Everything should be fine and like people are starting to say that Bishop can't stay healthy.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if we're ready to say that just yet.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: He had the shoulder injury in camp last year but then he played the whole season.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: He was pretty healthy in college.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think he only missed like two or three games in his three years at Utah.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't think we're ready to put the injury prone label on him yet.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: Just maybe had a little bit of bad luck here in camp, but hopefully we get those guys back here soon and or a hundred percent column September ninth or whatever that day is because that's that's really all that matters, but good and dream news trail Bernardo and Williams are back.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm sure if they're healthy on the night, they'll be healthy on the second.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, I hope they are healthy on the night.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: That means they don't have hurt in week one.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: What can I do?
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's been over an hour during Williams back in action, which is good, other than Shaq Thompson, sounds like all the one-backers are healthy, except for our old friend, bail inspector.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: This may have been the calf strain that broke the camel's back.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: It seems, I said about six of them at his time here, but he pulled his calf again, was released.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: He did clear waiver, so he's placed back on the IR.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: maybe they get him with some kind of injury settlement or what.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: So he's not gone yet, but it was released.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: They brought in Jimmy Ciarlo, a linebacker out of Army, West Point Guy, was with the Jet Slash year, who didn't appear in any games.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: He's still bad for valence vector.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: He showed flashes, especially in twenty twenty three, when all the linebackers were hurt.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: He played pretty well.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: Dolphins game in week eighteen and then in the playoff game against the Steelers for he got hurt again Just couldn't stay on the field and unfortunately may have to rail this career Lance you have any parting words for old friend Baylor Good riddance sir.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully you get healthy Yeah, I mean it's one of those things where it's sad and I know there's the jokes of him getting injured and You know all that but it is really like one of those things where it just happens to more players than I think people realize that
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, who knows if they could stay healthy and stay on the field, what their careers could have been?
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm obviously not saying that, you know, being like that.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: You would have been on the field for that knee.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: Huh?
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: Just like you, Ben, wasn't that trick knee?
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: Be out there right now.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't it?
- 25:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, good old knee right here.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm not saying to be an inspector would have been an amazing player if you would have been on the field, but I mean, who knows?
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's one of those things where it's
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: It stinks to see it in the eye.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think Doug put a perfect, it was time, taking up a spot.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: They gave him chances.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: They hoped that he could stay on the field.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, there gets to a point where once you can't stay on the field, it's a business at the end of the day.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, I hope nothing about the best room in the future.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he could pick up somewhere else and maybe he could stay healthy there.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, whether it's in the NFL or out of the NFL, best of luck to be on the spectrum.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: always be a collegiate national champion.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's pretty cool.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough, too.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think he definitely had some like flashes of promise there.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: So it's definitely a tough thing to see.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody you tried to draft and develop just didn't work out, but do you think it was time like was mentioned?
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was past time.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think they gave them all the chances they could possibly give them.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: And McDermott said it best, your availability is the best ability.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to have to take that in no count.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: So unfortunately for Bayland, just couldn't stay on the field.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, I've said before, I can't make the call up in the tub.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: We have an initial depth chart come out.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: Not many surprises on there.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: Big one, maybe Terrell.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: Shavers is wide receiver six, but he's probably wide receiver six.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, they only kept five.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to talk about him a bit later on, but then you have any initial thoughts from the first depth chart.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: No real surprises, honestly, but take it where you want to take it.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it's, it's not super surprising when it comes to anything.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: I am interested to see how long the quantum films really kind of stays there and his spot of that number two detail.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I was in that, I mean, he expected to save these corners, you know, you knew Maxwell was not going to be the starter right away.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: Mindback is a pretty set the line besides I said like the quandones maybe with the only other one that was a little surprising just because you've heard of so much about the other details, but again, they like to kind of ease guys in.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, other than that, nothing really too crazy.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, not shot really anywhere else.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: I guess Bailey Inspector made the initial depth chart that was released.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's ahead of, uh, County Jenkins and he's not even on the team.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, Hope County can get in that spot, uh, soon here.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: He plays well enough.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, yeah, now I agree, uh, not a ton to note.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, they had Audrey and can list it as nickel corner back.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: which I guess you I think you were on that was saying he plays more they wanted him more inside I guess I didn't really realize what his specialty was I think they want him anywhere yeah I don't necessarily know one of them but I just just noticing that and I'll see here yeah everything else fairly straightforward well I guess you could say during strong playing decently enough I thought you know he's behind-game jacks and so which because of his veteran status maybe makes sense but
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: Just from what you were hearing, maybe what a thought strong could maybe push to be behind Ben for there on the depth chart, but not to be obviously everyone's going to say that radio is that backup kicker is pretty interesting, which
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: came out of nowhere before the blue and red scrimmage when that happened.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: Did you guys have any clue about Davis kicking ever before?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's pretty fun.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: Always cool.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking, you know, I think one of the bigger things I think to look for is special teams on Saturday.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: Something I've been a focus on because it kind of helps you identify that bottom half of the roster and
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: uh, Chanel ahead of uh, is second in the kickoff return there and uh, but third with pun returning.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how that return man battled goes.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's uh, interesting to know what they have kind of them all shuffled up there with Connor and can be in first and both now.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: He was the kickoff returner, but was he the pun returner last year?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Did he do a lot of?
- 30:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he was, Connor said, yeah, he was pretty good at it, too.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I thought he was more of a specialist on the kick return.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: So my fault on them.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think his point returning ability is what may keep him on the team.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's he.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think for a week or something.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right on.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I had it flopped his turning was better than this kick returning.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: Gotcha.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right on.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: That was the one thing I wanted to go ahead.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: No, go for it.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: I was saying, yeah, the returner one was the one thing I did want to bring up, because I think Conrington was somebody that a lot of us had as maybe a way to get an extra roster spot, maybe that's that shaver as wide receiver six, maybe that's them keeping twelve dealign many, even after this suspension.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, if these first apartment and kick returner obviously the month ago before, you know, we have to finalize this thing.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_02]: You might just, you know, find this way on the team again, and then
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: got some important decisions to make when you have somebody who's only a returner, all this only got fifty two spots that fifty three, it's like when Rex Ryan had a kick off specialist.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess returner is a little bit better than a kick off specialist.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it'll be interesting to see if he can hold on to that spot and steal your ostrich spot.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: We hinted at it earlier, but a little bit of a hard knocks review.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: It was cool to see.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think hard knocks over the years is kind of gotten a bit more boring.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's because team don't really want to show a whole lot.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: At least for me, like I'm always really excited for the first episode, and then by the time that goes on, it's just like, I really don't think really do.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: New is here, but it comes to the bills, obviously, I'm going to love it.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: My big takeaway is that we need to be on Dawkins to get a safer hobby, and I don't think those seats are made for three year olds, but I hope he stays safe out there.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: I was watching that.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_02]: One wrong turn, he goes into a tree, and there goes our left ankle, but safer hobby is maybe during the season for Dion.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think there's a lot of, a lot of room out there, may look tighter than it is in real life.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sharing it.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and all those places are pretty spacious and big, but yeah, it seemed like he wasn't holding back and he gets after pretty good with the drift car.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: So that'd be cool to see in person.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have a car show.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think last year if he does that again this year, it'd be nice to go out and see that.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, my wife goes like, oh, I should have that car at the tailgate.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, yeah, well, we're working on that.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, anyway.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I said on on X the other day, you know, goosebumps to adrenaline, to tear eyes, kind of touched everything out of the gate.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: It was super cool.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think honestly, that may have been my first time ever watching hard knocks.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe I even turned it on before.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, yeah, we'll see.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: I guess that it's not a poisonous snake.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess though, you know, they could wrestle, he could slip out on the grips of it.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: With professionals when he does it.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Plus, it was two pythons on one there.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just kidding that.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a muscle stroke, so I'll leave now.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: I have a nice green bar.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: Take a lap.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it was awesome.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, I'm with Lance.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'd never really watch too many of the hard knocks just because again, I mean, I wasn't too interested.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like I did, it was last year what the AFC North is a hole or something last year.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: That was only turning the season.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, I'm not last year was, uh, come back to me.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think the last day.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: I was just how good it was.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think the last one was that I remember
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: like mob details of was the waiters here, which at this point.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was a while ago.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I was for two years ago and that was pretty good.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I've seen clips and everything come out, but I don't know if I've ever watched like a full episode of it, but this one was really awesome.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it was the jet.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it was the jet.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it was an awesome to watch.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, one, how can you not root for Tray White man?
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he stressed.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: On and off the field, it's just a guy that I, again, I hope that he can stay healthy and I hope that he can ever get here because he is just.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: One of my favorite bills, I think ever, and I think that's for a lot of people, just because of how funny he is and how good he was and how good hopefully he is this year.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, I'm just excited for to see kind of how they progress with him.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, my first thought when I said that the on thing was the same thing as you just got up like, is this safe?
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: Is it like he's kind of saying?
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: But overall, I mean, I thought it was a phenomenal show for episode.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited for episode number two to see what they dive into.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_00]: Glad they didn't really touch on the cook stuff.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they have really touched on that coming.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't really touch anything bad in the first episode.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that's usually how they go the first one gets you like yeah, and like yeah, and that was the bear's last year.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was wrong.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: I remember kill Williams now.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's that's how they get you like last year the first episode made Matt eber fluke look like a good football coach, and then as it goes on, you're like, oh, so yeah, the cook's self is coming.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and there was one more thing that I was going to say that I forgot even for no even before you started talking.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: I was trying to think of it.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I actually gave me more time.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: I still couldn't think of it.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that actually brought John just commented it.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: The scooter part was hilarious to me.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then they have the kids scooter first KJ was absolutely hilarious to me.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: That part I just wanted to also point out because like he brought it.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he brought.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: So he didn't know he said he just he bought the kids wanted it.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he went to the target and bought the wrong one.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was funny where Spencer Brown was just staring at the camera just like this.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_00]: What is he's writing and just debt staring at the camera.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's just I mean, the team's got a bunch of characters.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm just got the best get-around game though.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: That was a really cool little moped type deal.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to go on suspension on that thing.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to be pretty ideal.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see somebody just bring out the heelies one day.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I can't believe nobody's thought of that one.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, come on, bring out the heelies and show off that I don't do they even so make those.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think they do, right?
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't think we're ready that stuff.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's go a little old school.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe rollerblade.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we'll see it next episode.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody will bring in the healies.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows the hardest part of our role or bleeding.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'll let you figure it out for yourself.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: There was another, yes, the end of the NFL have a little interesting deal going on.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: We can explain what it is for us.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: We can kind of go into our thoughts.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: Basically ESPN acquired NFL network and red zone and Sunday ticket.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: And as part of the deal, the NFL is now going to own ten percent of ESPN, which is interesting on multiple levels because one, ESPN has a sportsbook.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_02]: So the NFL now owns ten percent of a sportsbook.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't seem like it's super ethical.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: And also, to imagine all the other sportsbooks are going to get pretty mad at this and try to make this not go through.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: And the NFL now owns ten percent of the company that breaks the majority of the news and puts a narrative on things which as we've seen what NFL owners already do to collude against players a lot of our jackson stuff like that.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: Who knows if there's going to be as much journalistic integrity.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: You hope that there will be, but who knows, chapter seems like he has a price.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_02]: What do you guys think?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be almost in kind of surprised if the deal goes through because I think the other sports books are going to put up a fight and they're probably going to come up with something kind of anti-trust monopoly or something like that as far as, yes, you had in the NFL being together.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: But Lance, what do you think about this?
- 37:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I like it.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, you know, need your reaction was similar.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: Not a huge fan of it didn't really understand a lot of the logistics of it or or, you know, really, I don't know if fairness is quite the right word, but it just doesn't seem, you know, like the ethics are good look in that for the reasons you mentioned, but
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's harder for me to get past, like, I can't control it.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't really care about it sort of thing, but I know it's our role here to talk about it.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess for the sake of that, it's definitely an interesting.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: And for me, surprise, I didn't have a clue that they were even trying to work on something like that.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: Makes a ton of sense for ESPN, but as an NFL fan, it's sort of a little bit disappointing, I guess.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: For that, for the reasons you mentioned,
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, uh, I'll be interested to see how it works out with all the different, because there's two separate subscriptions there, uh, both of which I hold and now I'm like, all right, am I going to have to pay for both still or, oh, my ESPN plus just cover everything from now on or what's the deal, FAM, ESPN plus and NFL plus, but they're the same company and what's going on with that.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't, I don't like it anyway because one ESPN will ruin whatever they touch into the NFL.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's like this like he said Scott, I mean, you said the word integrity how much integrity does the NFL have as a whole.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's part of it.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just overall.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of just one of those things where it's like,
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: As a fan you hate it and you know there's nothing that you can do or anything that will stop or change any part of it.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully we'll see some better news is somebody if they do contest it or anything.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: But knowingly NFL and DSBN, they'll both get what they want at the end of the day, whether no matter what regulations they have to have or whatever.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_00]: They have to do in order to make this happen.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: They'll make it happen somehow.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I do also just want to say, apparently, I just heard that Anthony Richardson just got hurt again.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: So if anybody knows a cult fan, Tom, that they're in your thoughts and prayers, because they're quarterback got hurt about half a mile from here.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's about half a mile from here.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'll stick my head outside and see if I hear it.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they don't say, unfortunately, there's a guy that we're talking about downspector that can't stay healthy.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Richardson is not a guy that doesn't think he can stay healthy.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: That one hurts a little more than I think balan spectrum.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, God's time.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to the Liana family, yes, be on.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: It is one it is.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_00]: It sucks.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like Lance said it's like we're not going to get super invested in it.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: But it's one of those things where yeah, I mean, especially red zone too, because I think that they'll absolutely ruin red zone if they get a hold of red zone.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, within three years, I wouldn't be shocked if they somehow replace Hanson, even though he's just the best for it.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see what happens and go from there.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, if
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: You guys got anything else before we move on here?
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they said they're not going to change anything.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure that'll be true for a little bit.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll say if they make the college football red zone, I might be all the way back in.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: My dumb brain can be bought.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it will be bought by a college football red zone type.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: That would cool.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: I would be fan of that.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll see what happens with that.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: And like RTL will be a long and lengthy process at the end of the day.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: But if we won't be something that happens quick.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_00]: So let's get in though a little bit to the offense and defense that we want to see so far.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: What we've seen so far in the last week, we talked a little bit about what we saw.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I believe the pads weren't even fully on and not under the talking last week.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_00]: And they've been fully on now.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll start with the offense here.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: First, Lance, I'm going to start with you.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: Who stands out to you?
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can say good, bad.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: You can have one of each, whatever you'd like.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: who are the two guys in offense that you're looking at right now, even going into Sunday, Sunday's game.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to take two receivers so far because Keon Coleman was sort of slower out of the gate.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: People were less impressed with him initially, but super strong performance, I think.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then Elijah Moore, I think they just
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: did some additional things with him that I guess I didn't realize they may put on his plate but given per Samuels not be due to per Samuels not being available I think that it actually
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: make sense that Elijah Moore would try to go in that role, do some jet sweeps and things like that.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Elijah Moore has great route running and honorable mention.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: I know you only said to but Josh Palmer.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna hog that to just because I saw him working after practice a bunch with Josh Allen.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty impressive on learning how cerebral he is and just getting to know the player he is not really knowing too much about him coming from the chargers.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, both of those guys are
- 43:14[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, the receiver, then as a whole, seems like it's impressed quite a bit.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: Outside of current assembly, who hasn't been there, awesome to see that he's building that connection with Palmer.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: Key on Coleman, there's a highlight of his coming out of camp almost every day.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_02]: Gotta clean up the drop a little bit, but I think a lot of them have been just like situations on air, so it could be a concentration thing.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: But another receiver I wanted to highlight, we're gonna talk about him in a bit, and if you may have a spot on this team is Terrell Shavers.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: was maybe the last guy cut last season if they kept six receivers he probably makes the team rolled up his ankle last week was able to come back I don't even know the missed the day of practice just because he knows that if he misses practice he might not make this squad had an awesome touch down and remember was yesterday the day before
- 43:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I've also seen some people say online that he is one of the best special teams coverage guys that they've ever seen.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: There's one person said Matt Collins level.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see if that's true, but it would just be a real feel good story if you can find his way on the team and make a big impact.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he gets a ton of snaps that receiver, but there was special teams guys who can cover and he can block.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're like, you know, who block his ass off.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I hope he finds a way on the squad.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about it in a minute.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, for me, there's not really too many better bad.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the one day that I highlighted a little bit earlier, that to me bad-wise, that isn't necessarily bad.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's just another thing where you haven't been able to really hear much about them, because they haven't been on the field, and that's Curtis Amel.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just going to echo what was said earlier in the show and everything.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: So when it comes to Curtis Amel, if you just want to be on the field, and it's kind of, I guess, bad when it comes to you on your machine and we'll see you in play.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: The good is, I'm going to go Dalton and Cade, just because you've heard him bulking up.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen it in my plays.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: Again, hopefully Josh Allen can hit him a few more times.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go with him for good.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see him this year.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: Hope that he can stay healthy and get back up to that, you know, ninety hundred targets.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully catch majority of them.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see obviously as it goes.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, those are going to be my two for the offense there.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then, Shavers was talked about, Lance, do you think he makes a team?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you answered that at all.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get a chance to answer it.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't even talk about it.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: It was lightly mentioned.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you can dive into that lightly mentioned and expand.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: Very enough.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, to dive into whether or not Shavers is going to make this team
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say I predicted he does make the team and then Scott's going to say over who and I'm going to just say maybe we keep one less offensive lineman because there's kind of being up.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, there's two defensive linemen suspended and I know that.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, offensive lineman.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you can have them on the practice squad and elevate them as needed.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: So same thing could be done with shivers, but who knows if someone may, if you think an offensive line and maybe safer on the practice squad than shivers would be, maybe you do that.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a great answer of who you're going to take off the team.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: I just am rooting for the guy and think that you are going to have to put six receivers on the team with the lack of
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: super good health in the receiver room right now keeping six on the fifty three maybe a good idea I Want him to make the team is my answer I just think he's a guy who's done everything he's been asked hundred percent attached to touchdown ratio in the NFL not many guys have that just him and Tommy Doyle and the on-balkins off the top of my head
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: put the thing as overdue like I thought maybe caudrington and I'm making it could could be his ticket if they can have one of the other guys return.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if they trust anybody else to return.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_02]: Ponce and a key on to the college a little bit, but they haven't really seen to use him there.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: I know he's caught some in practice.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think tomorrow's preseason game.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: We pretty telling you to imagine caudrington takes the first couple feet.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't make key on your journey.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know if I don't know if there's an offensive line spot where they would like, because obviously, you have to five starters.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: Anderson's making it, then it marks making it.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_02]: Grails making it assuming it's healthy.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: Anderson's not, I know he just got his knee scope, but how long is he going to be out if he's back, then that's crazy.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not sure if injuries are going to be a part of that.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: I guess is what I, what I was saying with the offensive one.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_02]: I hope he makes the team.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, that's the problem when you're on a team that's good.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to find a spot when you're one of these fringe guys because they're just so deep.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm just going to simply put it because you guys pretty much covered it with the shivers.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to continue to say that I think he makes the team so that when I, when he does make the team, I can go back and say, I was right.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to do that because it's
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody knows who's going to make a team at the end of the day and they're all gases.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I just think somebody knows somebody knows, but no reporter or content creator besides Josh Allen and few other guys know who's going to make the team.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: So it's, you know, we're, they're all guests at this point.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to come to guys like Shavers and, you know, Doreak Forest or whoever you want to talk about when it comes to just guys that are on the bubble there.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just going to continue to say that he makes a payment manifest it because I hope that he makes the team.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to, I'm going to the bubble boy.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_00]: continue to manifest that he doesn't make the team.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know a lot of people are rooting for them.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't use God.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_00]: And we know you're rooting for them.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you might make the team.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's still rooting for him.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: But last thing we kind of already covered this little bit, but who do you, who are what do you want to see from the offense on Sunday?
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you know, you're actually actually not going to see
- 49:32[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe too much of the starters.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll start with you.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: It could be a who or a what you want to see from this offense on Saturday.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about the Grinch.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see health.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to see anybody else get hurt, especially in a pretty seasoned game.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: But it's kind of obvious.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: And how I want to see the offensive line, like Lance mentioned earlier.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: Training camp is a tough time for an offensive lineman.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_02]: You do a lot of drills that kind of suck.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: You're running a lot of plays on air.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_02]: You're doing boring drills while the offense gets to go play seven on seven, which looks like a lot of fun.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: But now it's their chance to get together out there as a unit.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same unit as last year and probably only going to play a driver too, but I want to see it look clean.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to run very vanilla play is probably just zone right zone left.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to see them walk them well.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: Open up polls on basic play is because that's the side of a good offensive line.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: You can do that.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to see good continuity from the offensive line and maybe a couple a couple decent run spring.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: Scott.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see nice units opening up polls.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think that'd be a great thing to see on Saturday and
- 50:42[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Edwards is a guy.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to see an action.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Richard garage, if you have some of these guys that maybe are going to miss some time, one of these guys behind them look like.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: So those are the guys and words in garage that I want to kind of check out and see where they're at.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Travis Clayton will rug the action.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe pitch it to him down the field.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Little Josh on magic there.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: Throw it to the receiver, pitch it to the tackle.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's used to it.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: How hooking ladder would be?
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe majority of the time it has not worked out in the favor too well majority of the time.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure to offer the line and touch down against us.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'll turn on the hook and ladder.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: They want to put a soul that almost works.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: That was when they were just trying to mess with the cowboys for revenge from the year before.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_02]: I get the one player of financials for all it.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, hey, maybe they add that to the playbook this year.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think if they did add it to the playbook, you'd see it in the preseason, but hey, maybe they throw it in the preseason just because they're like, hey, whatever, we're really, we're ever run this in the game, run it in the preseason game where it doesn't really matter too much.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see one genre, your genre manager.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_00]: I do want to see Jackson Haas in some action, and I do want to see Ray Davis and Ty Johnson on how they look.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_00]: where it's, you know, Scott, you talked about the offensive lines, see how they're setting up the blocks and yeah, that's always something that you definitely want to see, but I also want to see how those two look because that's the talk of everybody saying what the bills offense, even myself wouldn't really slow down if those two were in the backfield and James Kirk wasn't on the field this season.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I do want to see, you know, how they look in the preseason.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously the first game, maybe it will be a little rusty.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: You do see that sometimes.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_00]: Especially the defense is just ready to, you know, go out there and hit somebody and you saw it even on hard knocks where the defense won first, first day of pads because they were just ready to go and sometimes the offense.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: kind of takes a little bit to get to get going there.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: So Jackson Hawes and just to do run a backup running bags there and very Davis and Ty Johnson are the three that I want to see and how they will come on Saturday.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't done so yet folks please like and share this on your relevant platforms.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you'd like to come over to the YouTube platform and subscribe to that built in Buffalo YouTube page and
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: hit the bell there to turn on notifications when we go live we would greatly appreciate your help get in the comments here and like and share on YouTube especially to help us gain traction in the algorithm would be again super appreciated we are presented by monster energy the official energy partner of built in buffalo
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: And before we go too much further with our last segment, just got a question here from Roy that I really liked and Josh Allen sort of addressed this in his press conference.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: Preseason doesn't count, but it does matter.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: It matters a whole ton for a guy's trying to.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: make a living here and try to get an opportunity in this league.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Allen mentioned his role this weekend is really to help those guys do that.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: Be a sounding board for guys, be a resource for guys.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: And what do you guys think, I guess, about the saying, preseason doesn't count, but it does matter.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's definitely true where it's, you know, when it comes to, I guess it doesn't matter in a sense of when they're lost as obviously, but it matters in terms of team building.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: because even one or what team you are, whether you're the bills and you're just looking to fix your, you know, figure out who's going to be your depth, who's going to make the final fifty three, those last probably ten fifteen spots, you know, potentially, or even if you're the giants or the Browns or whoever at the bottom, it's important because you want to see where you're at right now as a whole team, who can you build off of who
- 54:36[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to see more of as the season goes on, progression, young guys, so it matters no matter what team you are, because you're looking for answers either way.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's no team that goes into the pre-season before the pre-season says, you know what, I don't really care.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_00]: We don't need to figure anything out where perfect we're going to go.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: Every team is looking to figure out something, whether it's depth, starters, or whether they're in a rebuild, no one, hey, we just want to see what we got and then we'll go from there.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that the quote there.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to find who said it, but yeah, I mean, it's definitely the wins and losses also don't matter, but at the end of the day, that's not what Lord Huckman is not with this comments referring to when it comes to what does matter matters for for anything.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you guys said it.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_02]: The preseason matters a lot.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like guys trying to make the team guys trying to have a career like make a living provide for their family, fighting out there.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: Preseason definitely matters.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: And you can still bet on it.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_02]: So matters to some of those folks too.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: Some of them are just as hard as play.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: Eagles just store on a fourth and goal from the one.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: That'll help the old one.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then one yard rushing touchdown for a running back, I believe.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_00]: So the Ravens are trying to punt today too as well.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: So did see some special teams involved.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe you'll see them from the bills.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was offered tickets to the games tonight and I said no, I think that would be a lot.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I can't be too nice.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: Even when we're up, we got to be a little bit down.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I like to be.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, on defensive side, you guys have a couple of folks who stand out to you or for a good or bad reason.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: I assume a lot of, you know, secondary type work is probably the focus here, but you're welcome to go wherever you'd like to shoot if you want to start us off on the defensive side of the ball.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: And let us know who you got for standing out so far and can.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually not really have anybody good or bad.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to talk about two guys that I want to touch on because I'm interested to see what it comes to.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: Where you've heard this this season and what kind of the rounding their position.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: The first guy is doing Carter where you've heard a lot about TJ's and there's you've heard a lot about the endwalker.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_00]: You have it all over there.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_00]: You heard in the beginning like first few days that he was going off from him.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: Haven't heard too too much since the pads were on, but at the end of the day, you know, there's a lot that
- 57:08[SPEAKER_00]: sometimes they just don't touch on doing Carter.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm curious to see how he stands and if that's a good thing or bad thing that we have already heard much since like before pads were on about him.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm once I miss a few things, but doing Carter's the one guy compared to what else is going on at his position, I would take it as bad because you've heard a lot about Tetris Anders, Dian Walker, that the two young rookies coming in here and on the depth chart then you still have to climb over him.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's just something I want to touch on there.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then actually, you know, I want to do another bad.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_00]: I got too bad.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, the other one is danger accident.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like, yeah, it seems like he might be on his way out because it just has not seemed like a good camp for him.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_00]: And when you have Harrison in there, you've heard praise even about Dorian Strong being a young guy coming in.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_00]: Even, you know, you have to mark a single, you haven't heard much about it, but like, does he jump over him in the pecking order there?
- 58:08[SPEAKER_00]: Either of those two are in the running for the final spot.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, day in Jackson, you know, I think it was another guy who came back, which I have to bounce around a little bit.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like it might be the end of his run in Buffalo in a few weeks here.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the two I'll talk to him.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for touching on that.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, Mammalano Tree White have been awesome.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_02]: people say that I haven't sensed the day about them.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_02]: So I will go with them.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_02]: But Jibon Salman from all of its spin set is he's kind of taking that next step forward.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: Was a guy who was definitely on the roster bubble given how much how many resources they put into this defensive line this past off season.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_02]: You figured he'd probably make the team out of the gate because they have the two defenses on the defensive line.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_02]: So like somebody has to be out there.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_02]: But for everything I've heard, he's been awesome.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_02]: It seems to be pointing his way into a real spot on that rotation even after Michael Hoyt gets back.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to stay in the rotation there.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_02]: So awesome to see a small school guy with a fifth or six round pick last season.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think had a couple bigs there.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if they did sex.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_02]: blowouts, but he had a couple of sacks when he came in.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think his like sack percentage versus snap takings like the highest of the NFL.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_02]: He had two sacks and like fifteen snaps, but excited for him and hope that he can kind of take this into the preseason, which will matter for him because he's trying to show the he is a rotational guy.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_02]: So excited for him there.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_02]: One person and I don't know if this is necessarily he's done anything bad.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know I just said Solomon's been really good, but it is hard to tell for alignment in camp, but AJ Fanesa seem like we haven't heard a lot about him.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_02]: It is a contract year for him.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_02]: There are going to be a lot of mouth to feed on that bee line and they're going to have some tough choices to make come week seven when Oak and Oak and Joe be come back.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he's a guy that could be on the trading block.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if going into the season, but maybe when those guys come back around trade deadline.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see some flashes from up in S.A.A.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: because they paid them, they brought him back on this two-year deal in a contract year.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_02]: So he's probably playing to stay in the league.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to see some stuff.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think, you know, a guy like to Mar Hammons come back and done some nice things so far and camp in the opportunities he's been given and Cam Lewis also stepping up in place of Toronto and Johnson at times things like that.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: So those two guys have stood out of it to me and also.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_01]: the area that I want to see on defense, getting an eyes on live action with TJ Sanders or sure, maybe see if Dick Juan Jones takes a few snaps where he is.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then from there looking at the defensive backfield and just anybody who's out there who's going to be out there, how long will they play?
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: And as a whole, how do they perform?
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's not a ton of guys to sit back there at safety after you take rap and bishop off the field.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_01]: you know, our Lewis and Hamlin or Forest and Hamlin or who is going to really take the bulk of the snaps and then how will they fare for an entire game, basically.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: sort of need to do that.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_01]: So they'll mix and match.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think they'll obviously put the rookie back there.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: Hancock a little bit too.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: So he's going to knock down some safety and we'll see what will herby has for the safety role versus maybe he'll split time too.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_01]: He may play a little bit of nickel end and safety both in this game.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that'll be nice to see you know
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_01]: Where these rookies are at, obviously, you're going to be looking to see more from Dorian Sean given his praise so far in camp, so.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my excited to see who's bringing the energy, who's going to be out there, who's going to be flying around, just there's always that one guy that you're just like, man, he's
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_00]: not expect this from him and he'll find around.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_00]: I do hope it's I hope it's a guy like Joe Andrews and that can just fly around the football field because it's again another guy.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, last year he had the good story this year not as much just because he's already made the team, but I hope to see that he comes out.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's really where he made his major mark last year.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you heard in training camp, but on the field and preseason was really where he you saw and that's the other scam.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if we wanted to see as what like third, I want to say like thirteen tackles or something like that.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe again, preseason, he comes out and shows out and says, oh, I've heard the Shack Thompson talk about being that guy that somebody gets hurt in the top three, he'll go in, but no, it could be, could be Joe Andrews in there.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it looks like it was the brotherly shows, potentially that did score there, but I didn't recognize the name who did score it.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, that'll pretty much do it for us guys.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_01]: You mentioned who's going to bring the energy if I'm able to acquire some, I'll bring some monster energy over there on Saturday.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how that all works out as plans kind of tidy up here last minute.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, big tree in hard knocks will be there.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think in the morning at the big tree in with the water buffalo club, seven one six if anyone's going to the game wants to shoot over there.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be there as well and come around and say hi.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_01]: see if we can get Schuper out there or not, and go from there.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, thanks for sticking with us for the entire hour episode.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_01]: You guys have anything else to leave us with.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_01]: Scott, do you want to have anything prepared on the betting market that you want to say for this week, one of the breezes.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't really looked much at the preseason, tried to take the over in the bill's game just for something to do.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I haven't looked at the time at the preseason betting line due to just take the over the game I'm watching, but I didn't know the way Taylor said he hadn't touched down there.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: What about Reed Davis any time after the point?
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_02]: What have touched down?
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_01]: They said McDermott said Hail score and then we'll toss his shoe out there.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_01]: We need to get a Velcro version.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, that he'll just, he'll score his own touchdown and kick the extra point for it.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I'd be interesting to call an octopus when the same guy scores a touchdown and gets the extra point.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_02]: What's it called?
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_02]: Same guy scores a touchdown and kicks the extra point.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_00]: Send another question that you haven't answered and you're not going to tell us or is that?
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know if that's ever been done before.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_02]: If it makes something up.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's a great question.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have to see you next next episode.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_00]: We'll know for sure if somebody's ever done it, but I'm going to take you while the guest is now.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got nothing else really major to add besides another week closer.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait to see the boys in action.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_00]: Just excited.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_00]: And it's that fun time of the year where, you know, you're starting to ramp up.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_00]: We got college football coming in.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_00]: Baseball is getting towards the end there when it comes to playoffs and everything so you get that final month before the September September push from all these teams the MLB and a fellow is coming back before you know it will have a hockey and basketball which I guess for football fans hockey is not a fun season but yeah I mean there's a lot coming up in the next few weeks here and lots of forward to
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, football Saturday.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm looking forward to you guys and go bills hope to see out there again at the big tree in on Saturday morning.
