- 0:03Speaker 1: the Potter's house. Boy, what a dream that has been.
- 0:07Speaker 1: What a hard worker. Let me just tell you something.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I heard Bishop Glenn Staples introduce him one day. I
- 0:13Speaker 1: ain't going to lie to you. This is a true statement.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, greatest preacher of all time, Bishop T.D.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Jakes. My man. Good morning. Good morning. I think the
- 0:23Speaker 2: greatest preacher introduced me from the way you were hooping
- 0:26Speaker 2: a while ago. I'm sorry. Hey, man, I'm sorry. I'm
- 0:29Speaker 2: going to try my hand at stand-up comedy because you
- 0:31Speaker 2: took my job completely away.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Yes, Bishop, yes.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Well, go ahead.
- 0:36Speaker 1: That was an accident.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I forgot you was next. How you been, man? I'm great.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I'm great. Good to be with you all. Man, listen
- 0:44Speaker 2: to me.
- 0:44Speaker 1: The more I learned about this mega-fest, The better it
- 0:48Speaker 1: sounds to me. It's August 29th through August 31st in Dallas, Texas.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Going to be a great weekend, man. Tell us about
- 0:57Speaker 1: what people can expect.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I don't even know where to start. I mean, there's
- 1:00Speaker 2: so much going on, it's unbelievable. Saturday night, we're going
- 1:02Speaker 2: to do a Women of Purpose concert. We have partnered
- 1:06Speaker 2: with Autism Speaks to bring awareness to autism and the
- 1:09Speaker 2: disparities that go on there. in our community and just
- 1:13Speaker 2: across the board as it relates to autism. But there
- 1:15Speaker 2: are some disparities in the African-American community that Autism Speaks
- 1:19Speaker 2: wants to address. So we're partnering to do a Women
- 1:21Speaker 2: of Purpose concert, and we're going to be honoring some
- 1:24Speaker 2: special women who have done some amazing things working in
- 1:28Speaker 2: the area of autism and some other accomplishments. And we've
- 1:31Speaker 2: got Brandi, we've got Joe, we've got Mary Mary, we've
- 1:34Speaker 2: got Babyface, we've got Jennifer Hudson, we've got Kim Burrell,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and a whole lot more that are all lined up
- 1:40Speaker 2: to come in not only to honor these very special women,
- 1:42Speaker 2: but to bring awareness to autism. So that's one of
- 1:45Speaker 2: the entertainment events I'm excited about. I don't know, Cedric
- 1:49Speaker 2: the Entertainer is going to come in, and him and
- 1:52Speaker 2: Nisi Nash are going to host our comedy show. We've
- 1:55Speaker 2: got David Mann, Mr. Brown. It's going to be a party. Mr. Brown.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Hold on, man. He's so ignorant, seriously. David Mann, who
- 2:04Speaker 1: I used to call, excuse me, Bishop, I used to
- 2:07Speaker 1: call him E-40. He wasn't always saved. I knew him
- 2:12Speaker 1: for that.
- 2:13Speaker 2: We used to call him Farty.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I put it out there for him. It's just good.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It's good for people to know they can.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Make a comeback.
- 2:23Speaker 1: He know his name was Farty?
- 2:24Speaker 2: He know why.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Why you think they call him Farty?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Steve, come back. Alright, I'm back.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Hey Bishop, but guess what? You name it people, but
- 2:34Speaker 1: Tony Braxton and the Braxton sisters I'm going to be there.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Wow. It's an amazing list of people that are really
- 2:42Speaker 2: coming on around this particular event. We've got some amazing
- 2:45Speaker 2: people we're going to honor for their accomplishments. And then,
- 2:49Speaker 2: you know, we're going to have church. We've got all
- 2:51Speaker 2: of the speaking components from Creflo Dollar, Dr. Hilliard, myself.
- 2:56Speaker 2: We've got Joel Osteen coming. We've got E. Dewey Smith
- 2:59Speaker 2: is coming to Atlanta. I mean, we're going to have church.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Marvin Sop, I mean, on down the list. Jasmine Schoolark
- 3:06Speaker 2: is going to be speaking. The woman art loose is
- 3:08Speaker 2: going to be going on. Manpower is going on. And
- 3:10Speaker 2: then Oprah is bringing her life class to Dallas. Whoa,
- 3:15Speaker 2: that's big. Yeah, I mean, we are just being blown
- 3:18Speaker 2: out the windows. And people can get tickets to any
- 3:21Speaker 2: of these special events or register for MegaFest online. They
- 3:26Speaker 2: can call 1-800-BISHOP2 or they can do mega-fest.com and get
- 3:31Speaker 2: more information online. Oprah's tickets, they have to go to
- 3:34Speaker 2: Ticketmasters to get, but they are filling up fast, and
- 3:37Speaker 2: it's Labor Day weekend, so you're already off work.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and y'all listen to me. Now, what Bishop is
- 3:44Speaker 1: doing is he's giving you a deal. I don't know
- 3:46Speaker 1: if y'all are hearing this or not, but when you
- 3:48Speaker 1: go to them directly and buy the tickets, you avoid
- 3:52Speaker 1: the surcharges, the big surcharges that come with Ticketmasters. Now,
- 3:57Speaker 1: Ticketmasters is the giants, and there ain't no way around them.
- 3:59Speaker 1: In a lot of concerts, you have to do.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Business with them.
- 4:02Speaker 1: It is what it is. They have practically a monopoly,
- 4:05Speaker 1: but they're asking you to go to mega-fest.com, mega-fest.com, and
- 4:13Speaker 1: you can buy your tickets directly where you don't pay
- 4:15Speaker 1: the huge surcharge.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Okay?
- 4:18Speaker 1: So that's the deal for you. Also, y'all, Babyface going
- 4:22Speaker 1: to be there.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Joe going to be there.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Tony Braxton and the Braxton sisters going to be there.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Then they got a special thing. They got a Mega
- 4:31Speaker 1: Kids Sessions. So you can bring your kids and they
- 4:34Speaker 1: can attend the Mega Kids session. Now, if your kids
- 4:39Speaker 1: don't know how to act, don't drop them.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Off at the Mega Kids session.
- 4:46Speaker 1: That ain't what we doing.
- 4:50Speaker 2: You feel the need to say that. You really do. Because, hey,
- 4:53Speaker 2: church folk got.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Crazy kids, too.
- 4:56Speaker 2: You know something? Last time we did Mega Kids, we
- 4:59Speaker 2: had almost 10,000 kids under 12. Oh, wow. We had events.
- 5:03Speaker 2: We had all kinds of contests. We had games for
- 5:06Speaker 2: them to play. We taught them. We had movies for them.
- 5:09Speaker 2: We entertained them. I mean, because it is a family festival.
- 5:12Speaker 2: We have something for teenagers. We got something for all ages.
- 5:15Speaker 2: But I was glad that the Lord didn't call me
- 5:17Speaker 2: to the children's ministry that day.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Good thing I got called to do adults. Oh, I'm
- 5:28Speaker 1: not cut out for this. Sit down.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I had trouble with five, so, you know.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Because you scared the kids because you ain't the smallest
- 5:38Speaker 1: man out there. Papa the Giant Man was telling us
- 5:41Speaker 1: about Jesus. That wasn't no giant man. That bitch was Jesus. Hey, man,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I got to commend you. What a great event, man.
- 5:50Speaker 1: This sounds like the best one ever. Joel Osteen, Marvin Sapp,
- 5:55Speaker 1: you know, Mary Mary. The list goes on and on, everybody.
- 5:59Speaker 1: But the important thing is his family. It's something for everybody. Look,
- 6:02Speaker 1: here's the thing I like about Bishop's event. It's for
- 6:06Speaker 1: church folk. But guess what? It's for everybody to come.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And it's something to do, man. You can sit down
- 6:13Speaker 1: and laugh with Cedric.
- 6:14Speaker 2: You understand?
- 6:15Speaker 1: You can sit down and sing along with Babyface and
- 6:18Speaker 1: Joe and all these people, man, because they get it.
- 6:21Speaker 2: He ain't.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Ramming at the cross down your throat for five days.
- 6:28Speaker 1: We're going to let you have it. But we also
- 6:29Speaker 1: got a good balance in there. Teach you how to
- 6:32Speaker 1: get through life. Come and learn yourself some life skills, man.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Everybody want to go to heaven. Y'all don't feel like
- 6:37Speaker 1: dying to get there. But in the meantime, can you
- 6:40Speaker 1: have a little slice of heaven on earth? Come and
- 6:42Speaker 1: get your soul filled and fixed. Have a great time
- 6:45Speaker 1: with the family. Enjoy yourself. And Lord have mercy. You
- 6:48Speaker 1: might walk out of there a better person. I know
- 6:50Speaker 1: when I did it, I sure did. Bishop Jakes.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yes, sir. You my man, boy. I appreciate you so much, man.
- 6:57Speaker 2: And speaking of what you did, you just blew the
- 6:59Speaker 2: doors off. And we're still talking about it. I think
- 7:02Speaker 2: it blew people's mind to find out that Jesus said,
- 7:05Speaker 2: go into all the world. And this is one of
- 7:07Speaker 2: the ways that we can touch people. If we just
- 7:09Speaker 2: open up and show them the love that we say
- 7:11Speaker 2: that we have, amazing things happen. And you kind of
- 7:14Speaker 2: fooled around and got your preacher on when you did yours. Amen.
- 7:18Speaker 2: You got to quit. You're like a boy.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Thank you Bishop as always.
- 7:23Speaker 2: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
