- 0:00Welcome back to Paranormal Lens, everybody. It
- 0:02is officially full swing into spooky season.
- 0:05Full disclosure, a little behind -the -scenes
- 0:08tidbit, if you will. We sat together a few weeks
- 0:11ago and we were like, hey guys, we got a new
- 0:12podcast. It's a spooky season. We should come
- 0:16up with some really engaging and critical topics
- 0:20and big topics that people might be really interested
- 0:22in researching and listening to us yammer on
- 0:26about. I had this pivotal time, us being a new
- 0:29podcast, Spooky Season, people really invested
- 0:32in the paranormal. That's how we came to the
- 0:35topic of Spooky Season itself, right? The Thin
- 0:38Veil. We also talked about Ed and Lorraine Warren.
- 0:41Big topic! We also talked about residual hauntings,
- 0:45dreams, nightmares, premonitions. And Angela
- 0:49chimed in in this business meeting. One of our
- 0:54first business meetings for this podcast. And
- 0:57she said, fuck that. Let's talk about owls. Welcome
- 1:02to our podcast, where we take deep dives looking
- 1:04at various topics through a paranormal lens.
- 1:09That's not what I said, Ben. I said, you know,
- 1:13I really want to talk about owls. And these two
- 1:17hooligans over here just started bursting out
- 1:21laughing. And I'm like, no, this is a serious
- 1:24topic. It's a serious topic. I can't believe
- 1:29you said hooligans with a straight face and you
- 1:31didn't say hooligans. Hooligans. This episode
- 1:37is going to be a hoot. Hoot. Sorry. Someone can
- 1:46laugh. Otherwise, it's just going to get awkward.
- 1:51Awkward. Owl turd? Okay. Did you guys ever, like,
- 1:57do a dissection of owl poop? Pellets? No. That's
- 2:03not poop. Owl pellets are not owl poop. They
- 2:08regurgitate it. Okay. Yeah, it's their regurgitation.
- 2:13They don't poop that out. Actually, I didn't
- 2:15know that because I thought it was poop. This
- 2:18is what really grinds Brandon's gears. Okay,
- 2:24so Brianna has actually, like, worked with owls,
- 2:27so she would know this. Wait, so - Yeah. Why
- 2:30are we talking about owls? Okay. Okay, I mean
- 2:36this, like, not as a joke. No, we're talking
- 2:40about owls because I wanted to talk about owls,
- 2:42and it's finally my turn to talk about owls.
- 2:44That's why we're talking about - Okay, but -
- 2:45No, no, no. But, like, what - Don't get offended
- 2:48when I say this, but, like - Do people believe,
- 2:50like, they're aliens or something? Or is this,
- 2:53like... There is a big connection between owls
- 2:56and aliens, actually. There's a big sightings
- 3:00of owls with UFO sightings or abductions or...
- 3:03Whatever. You know. What do you mean, whatever?
- 3:08There's a big... You say this nonchalantly, like...
- 3:10There's a big connection between them. There's
- 3:12owls or whatever. You need to fill in the gaps,
- 3:16Angela Wingard. Okay, well... What do you want
- 3:19me to start with? Did you take notes? Why do
- 3:23you have such an interest? Show the audience
- 3:27here. You have a whole notebook on strange owl
- 3:29sightings? I just have one page worth. I saw
- 3:35more than that. Where are we starting? Strange
- 3:39owl sightings associated with UFOs? I'll do what
- 3:41Brianna said. I'll talk about why. uh my weird
- 3:47owl obsession which isn't too much of a obsession
- 3:50it's just more it's just a fascination it's a
- 3:54fast and weird fascination of mine so when i
- 3:58was a kid i don't i was listening like what was
- 4:04it when i was a kid i was on my mom's bed we
- 4:10were reading together and we we fell asleep and
- 4:13so but every night she automatically has coast
- 4:15to coast on you know what coast coast is right
- 4:20no you don't know what it is it's the it's the
- 4:22radio show close to coast and talk about all
- 4:25weird shit on it like a bunch of weird things
- 4:29it can be normal things too sometimes but there's
- 4:32always some sort of weird like paranormal type
- 4:34of topics i have on there too um anyway Like,
- 4:39that's always playing every single night. Anyway,
- 4:42I woke up in the middle of the night to Coast
- 4:49to Coast playing. And they were talking about
- 4:52owls. I guess there was this one guy talking
- 4:56about the story of when he was a kid, he woke
- 5:03up in the middle of the night to these owls.
- 5:06um aliens right outside his window and that these
- 5:11aliens like turned like just turned around in
- 5:16a circle and like turned into like five foot
- 5:19owls or whatever and i can't remember if this
- 5:23is exactly it because i can't find this episode
- 5:26it just doesn't exist i don't know i don't know
- 5:30i was trying to look up episodes that might be
- 5:33kind of related To aliens and UFOs. And the most.
- 5:39They only talk about recent ones. And I can't
- 5:41find anything that would have been. When I was
- 5:43a kid. Or like early teenage years. What year
- 5:47about would this have been. In case anyone is
- 5:49like. Encyclopedia. I think 2009. 2010. So at
- 5:55some point in 2009. I can't say that for sure.
- 6:00But at some point around that time, 2009, 2010,
- 6:04there was a gentleman in the U .S. of A. that
- 6:10saw aliens at his door that then... Window. At
- 6:15his window, sorry. That were, like, were they
- 6:19just, like, hovering there? Were they trying
- 6:21to break in? I mean, this is the thing I can't
- 6:24remember exactly. But what I do remember is that...
- 6:28these aliens like turn into like five foot owls
- 6:31and they're just staring right into him and the
- 6:34thing why it really freaked me out is because
- 6:36here i am a youngster i woke up in the middle
- 6:39of night to hearing this shit and i'm looking
- 6:42right outside the like our windows that's like
- 6:47facing the woods and it just freaked me out i'm
- 6:50like that's the worst thing that i could have
- 6:51woken up to did you see an owl outside No, but
- 6:56when I think back at it, honestly, I don't have
- 7:02any memories before that of me ever hearing owls
- 7:05outside the windows, but I do have memories after
- 7:10that of me hearing owls hooting. What kind of
- 7:13owls? I could not tell you, honestly. I thought
- 7:17it was an owl because it sounded like it's doing
- 7:21like, you know what I mean? That's the best impression
- 7:28I can make of the owl. That sounds more like
- 7:35a wounded puppy. No, it was an owl. I was an
- 7:38owl and it was right outside my window. It's
- 7:43funny because memories can... It's just interesting
- 7:47the things that make an impression. That clearly
- 7:50made such an impression on you. you noticed every
- 7:54owl after that. Yeah, I have. Because it really
- 7:58creeped me out as that being this random thing
- 8:00I woke up to in the middle of the night. I don't
- 8:03know why. Are you sure you didn't dream it? That's
- 8:06the thing. It could have been a dream, so who
- 8:09knows. Someone out there needs to let us know.
- 8:13Is this a real episode? We haven't been able
- 8:14to find this exact episode. Do something when
- 8:18I was younger. How many episodes? This is a weekly
- 8:22show, right? There's a lot of them. I don't know
- 8:26how often they do it. I'm not an active listener
- 8:29to Coast to Coast unless I'm home. Back at my
- 8:34parents. There's a lot of episodes. I suggest
- 8:39listening to some of them. I always like it when
- 8:42Peggy Negri's on it. Peggy Negri. We love Peggy
- 8:46Negri. And Paraflux. in paraphilix yeah but yeah
- 8:52i don't know but it wasn't until like in high
- 8:56school when i just like thought about it randomly
- 8:58and i had an iphone i can just look anything
- 9:00up on a on a whim or whatever and i looked it
- 9:04up and i couldn't really find anything about
- 9:06the connections between owls and ufos but i guess
- 9:10it's kind of always been a thing for a while
- 9:13now there's i've always been a connection between
- 9:17owls and ufos but i couldn't really find anything
- 9:20at the time and i didn't really look anything
- 9:23else up after that but it looks things up this
- 9:27past week and i found a bunch of things about
- 9:30it so when did all these things go on the internet
- 9:32i feel like i've never heard of the connection
- 9:36of like of owls and with you and i feel like
- 9:41it's not something a lot of people talk about
- 9:44either no but it's it's once you hear about it
- 9:49and you look more into it you realize there is
- 9:54a bunch of people like i feel like you need to
- 9:57have some sort of an experience with an owl to
- 10:00know to realize oh there's some weird spooky
- 10:04that goes along with them owls you know yeah
- 10:07well i mean in like folklore and history and,
- 10:12you know, a lot of that sort of stuff. Owls have
- 10:16always been, like, a cultural representation.
- 10:20What the hell was that? Daisy's barking at me
- 10:23for some reason. Your dog? Daisy. That sounded
- 10:26more like an owl than Angela's weird -ass owl.
- 10:30Owl. Owl. Now she just shoved herself in a corner
- 10:36and is barking at me. I don't know why. She doesn't
- 10:39like this owl talk. Please stand by. Anyways,
- 10:44so in a lot of cultures, mythologies, folklores,
- 10:48owls have always been the representation of death
- 10:54or an omen of impending doom. And we even see
- 11:00that I think I've mentioned it to you guys before.
- 11:06um owl man who's actually like the european cousin
- 11:10of mothman who in america is like also a representation
- 11:16of a harbinger of impending doom it's the same
- 11:19in europe but he's owl man instead of mothman
- 11:22so across a lot of cultures owls are representations
- 11:27of whatever uh it's a sign of death a lot of
- 11:33that death or um Even birth. But, you know, there's
- 11:40a lot of other cultures that represent them as
- 11:43other things. Like, they're seen as, like, an
- 11:47icon of wisdom and knowledge in Greek mythology.
- 11:51They're seen a lot as, like, giving clarity and
- 11:58showing the truth. Messengers between between
- 12:02worlds. They're in between the realms and are
- 12:05able to transfer messages to people a lot. They're
- 12:10also seen as protection and guidance. It's very
- 12:17different across a lot of the cultures. Is it
- 12:22different, though? Because if they're literally
- 12:24on the threshold, so to speak... There's always
- 12:27synchronicities with them. But yeah, see, that's
- 12:29the thing. They are represented as a creature
- 12:34on the threshold between life and death, and
- 12:37therefore they have that connection between life
- 12:42and death. They're not solely bound to this planet.
- 12:45But that's another interesting thing, too, is
- 12:48when people are... a lot of like typical sightings
- 12:54too when people are doing like meditating or
- 12:57doing rituals or even on like psychedelic drugs
- 13:01to get you know get a clear mind about whatever
- 13:06owls are often a common sighting or vision that
- 13:13a lot of people have right and it comes up a
- 13:18lot when it's people trying to seek wisdom for
- 13:22themselves owls will pop up a lot i do want to
- 13:26add you know them being a threshold or a very
- 13:29liminal type of type of entity or uh you know
- 13:32at least in the folklore you know said to be
- 13:35on the threshold when you when you are walking
- 13:38that line they they it will often reflect back
- 13:42kind of like a mirror what you are what you stand
- 13:46for what you seek right if you are a person that
- 13:50needs help right and there's a lot wrong with
- 13:55you perhaps you will see the scary side of the
- 13:58owl but if you are a pure person so to speak
- 14:01and you uh come with good intent right and you
- 14:04just want some wisdom you'll see that side of
- 14:06it so let me pause for one second i'm sorry hang
- 14:10on again please stand by we also have a beautiful
- 14:16picture of brianna with an owl We can show right
- 14:20now. Look at that. I don't know if it's just
- 14:23like a perspective thing and now it's closer
- 14:26to the camera, but that's one big ass owl. It
- 14:29does look like a big owl, honestly. I wonder
- 14:32if it's earthbound. Earthbound? Earthbound. What
- 14:38do you mean by that? Like of this earth. I'm
- 14:43sorry, Daisy was shredding something and I didn't
- 14:46know what. Oh, you're good. We turned off the
- 14:49Please Stand By screen so we can kind of commentate
- 14:51on this owl picture you sent us. The Please Stand
- 14:53By screen is a picture of you and the owls. Yeah.
- 14:58Do you think this was an earthbound owl? Did
- 15:01you have any weird experiences around it? The
- 15:05picture I sent you guys? Yeah, that owl. No,
- 15:08no, no, no. Wait, you saw an owlbear? I was thinking
- 15:14the picture I sent earlier, like when I was doing
- 15:16research. Oh, I guess we'll show that picture.
- 15:22Now that we're showing that picture, can you
- 15:24please explain what the fucking owlbear is? It's
- 15:27a fantasy creature mostly seen in D &D. Time
- 15:32to put the picture of the owlbear that Brianna
- 15:34showed us over Snapchat earlier on. Yeah, I am.
- 15:37I'm showing it right now. Okay. For all the audio
- 15:39listeners, this is... I guess you can just fantasize
- 15:44over this fantasy D &D. I don't play D &D. I
- 15:48don't either. Now I'm scared. I guess I'm the
- 15:53only nerd. We're all nerds in our own way here
- 15:58in this group. Yeah. But what was the question
- 16:01about the other picture? Oh, the other picture.
- 16:05You posing. Yeah, you're posing with an owl.
- 16:08Yeah, so that was Boudica. Boudica. no i loved
- 16:13buddhica she was one of my favorite owls um i
- 16:16worked at a wildlife rehab facility and she was
- 16:19one of their ambassador birds so she would travel
- 16:23um and go to like schools and events so um the
- 16:28rehabilitation facility could teach people about
- 16:31the birds of prey and just wildlife rehab in
- 16:34general she um had a part of her wing amputated
- 16:39i don't remember how she lost her wing i think
- 16:44she might have been hit by a plane oh poor baby
- 16:47but maybe that's a different owl but buddhica
- 16:50and then um bard who was or was it yeah bard
- 16:56was uh he's a bard owl um were two of the birds
- 17:01that i handled and i helped with the ambassador
- 17:03program and i would travel with them um during
- 17:06the summer um oh that's so cute yeah i loved
- 17:09working with them But Boudica was especially
- 17:11my favorite because, of course, she's a great
- 17:13horned owl. Super cool. Do you know all the earthly
- 17:19owls? I do know a lot of them. What about unearthly
- 17:24owls? I've never met one. This brings... Oh,
- 17:30keep going, Ben. No, I was just going to ask,
- 17:32do you believe, Bree, that there are owls in
- 17:34this universe that are undiscovered and that
- 17:37we don't know exist? I mean, it's entirely possible
- 17:41there could be some sort of Amazonian species
- 17:44of owl that we don't know about. What about space
- 17:50owls? I don't know. Okay, this brings... People
- 18:01are loud out there. Anyway, people are loud out
- 18:06in the hallway. Someone like... hit a wall or
- 18:09something and it scared me. Is it an owl? Did
- 18:12you check? It might have been an owl. I don't
- 18:15know. I don't think it was an owl. Hey, if it's
- 18:20a five foot man, he might just start spinning
- 18:22around in circles. Spinning around and turning
- 18:24into an owl and you never know now. Anyway, this
- 18:28brings me into the question for you guys. Have
- 18:32you guys had any weird experiences whatsoever
- 18:36with any owls? In your life. No. Nothing. Ben.
- 18:43Recording this podcast is. This is a pretty strange
- 18:47experience for me. I was going to say. When I
- 18:51worked at the rehab facility. I saw one of the
- 18:54owls yawn. And that was a very weird experience.
- 19:03I don't know if you, I mean, you probably haven't
- 19:06seen an Owlion, but it is very weird looking.
- 19:09Can you describe? I don't even think I want to
- 19:11see it. I'll send you, I'll send a video that
- 19:12you can play. Okay, good. Yeah. Okay. Ben, what
- 19:16about you? No. Anything whatsoever. Am I the
- 19:22only one who has any? Okay, so I feel like I
- 19:25never really had any, like, truly, like, weird,
- 19:28weird experiences for anything that could go
- 19:30into a book about. owls and paranormal but i
- 19:35feel like i'm the only fucking one have you ever
- 19:38seen an owl just in general or yes okay yes this
- 19:43this goes into a story that i want to bring up
- 19:46too so what goes into okay so you know how i
- 19:51was talking about after that whole coast to coast
- 19:54episode and it was afterwards is when i started
- 19:57hearing owls outside outside at night outside
- 20:00my window and stuff And you were talking about
- 20:03immortal dread and doom and stuff, you know,
- 20:08Bree? You were talking about those a lot. I had
- 20:13that feeling with listening to the owls outside
- 20:16my window, like, late at night. I would just
- 20:19get extremely fucking scared, even though I could
- 20:21tell it's an owl. I was scared. It was terrifying
- 20:25hearing it. But couldn't that have been just
- 20:28some sort of subconscious hindsight? because
- 20:31you listened to that Coast to Coast episode.
- 20:33Okay, no, but this is interesting, though, to
- 20:36me. Angela, can you describe how many nightmares
- 20:40you have in your life? I have a lot of nightmares.
- 20:44An abnormally amount of nightmares, would you
- 20:47say? Well, I mean, I went on nightmare medicine
- 20:49for a little bit to help with my nightmares.
- 20:52Yes, you have so many nightmares that you're
- 20:53on medication for having nightmares. I was. Why
- 20:58did this owl thing stick in none of your actual
- 21:03nightmares? So describe this feeling of dread.
- 21:08Was it different than the feeling of dread you
- 21:11got during a nightmare that you had to be prescribed
- 21:13medication for? Was it more intense, more real,
- 21:17different? I guess maybe I don't know how to
- 21:21answer that question. more real because it was
- 21:24real i was a consciously awake listening to it
- 21:27right outside my window like i don't know why
- 21:31it freaked me out but it did but it's not the
- 21:35same thing because here's the thing about my
- 21:37nightmares my nightmares aren't it's obvious
- 21:42it's not real like the things that happen in
- 21:46my fucking like nightmares are out of worldly
- 21:51weird things that would never i mean yes sometimes
- 21:54it is but it's just a bunch of things together
- 21:57that just wouldn't really happen in real life
- 21:59you know what i mean yes and we talked last week
- 22:02a couple of your nightmares or in this case dreams
- 22:06you had potential premonitions visions and that
- 22:10didn't scare you so it's just you see what i'm
- 22:14getting at yeah but you see what i'm getting
- 22:16at this is interesting to me this feeling of
- 22:19doom knowing that nothing like why did this one
- 22:23random instance of waking up to hearing this
- 22:27coast to coast stick and nothing else even the
- 22:30stuff that had to be literally prescribed medication
- 22:32for i don't know getting stuck that's interesting
- 22:35i don't know i guess it just did because here's
- 22:39the thing i got woken up in the middle of the
- 22:41night and that's the first thing i hear Looking
- 22:44outside a pitch black window, and I'm like, oh
- 22:47crap, now there's an owl gonna pop out of nowhere.
- 22:50Five foot owl, I don't know. It's just so creepy
- 22:54weird to hear it late at night. Have you experienced
- 22:57this doom feeling ever before or again? No, because,
- 23:05well, not lately, because I mainly spend my time
- 23:09here in Lansing where there's no fucking wildlife.
- 23:12I meant just outside of owls. Like that feeling
- 23:14you got when you heard the owl. Have you experienced
- 23:17that feeling? Yeah, when you started screaming
- 23:21in the middle of the night. Okay. But now we're
- 23:28getting somewhere. Now you got me on board on
- 23:30this podcast, okay? I had no idea what this owl
- 23:33shit was heading to. But now I'm interested.
- 23:36Now I'm intrigued. So when you were a kid, when
- 23:39you were... How old were you in 2000? You were
- 23:43a 2000 baby, right? Yeah, I'm 2000. If this was
- 23:47when I think it was in 2009 or 2010, I probably
- 23:50would have been 9 or 10. Okay, so this 9 -year
- 23:53-old girl wakes up to a random Coast to Coast
- 23:59episode. You probably woke up to a lot of Coast
- 24:01to Coast episodes. I know how restless of a sleeper
- 24:04you are, Angela. It is very far -fetched and
- 24:09out there to... You know, to pretend like this
- 24:13is the only time around when you were a kid that
- 24:17you woke up in the middle of the night, you probably
- 24:18woke up multiple times every night as a kid to
- 24:23coast to coast. But randomly, this one episode
- 24:26about owls, not even like doesn't even sound
- 24:30too scary. It's just aliens. turning around transforming
- 24:35into owls or something like that i couldn't tell
- 24:38you exactly that for some reason scared you and
- 24:43something inside of you responded and resonated
- 24:46and then every time you heard an owl which you
- 24:48don't remember ever hearing before but your mind
- 24:51was super in tune to the sound of an owl ever
- 24:53since then kind of like a bell you know was your
- 24:55one sound um and you felt something That you've
- 25:01never felt before. Even during your nightmares.
- 25:03That you literally had to get prescribed medication
- 25:05for these nightmares. This was a different feeling.
- 25:08Something deeper. Something you couldn't quite
- 25:10put your finger on. The next time you felt this.
- 25:13Was. Like 15, 16 years later. When I. Waking
- 25:21up from a dream. Saw the dweller on the threshold.
- 25:24A threshold entity. Owls are threshold entities.
- 25:28I had a dream. And woke up from a dream screaming.
- 25:34Before I forget, this is another feeling of dread
- 25:38I had, too. It's the only other time I really
- 25:40had a true dread, dread feeling in my nightmares.
- 25:44It's that I once had a dream that I was on at
- 25:49the gates of hell. And that was truly one of
- 25:52the scariest. That's a threshold! Yeah, I know.
- 25:54That's truly one of the scariest. How could I
- 25:56forget? This was literally one of the worst dreams
- 25:58I have ever had in my life. It was scary, but
- 26:02this is also going to sound really funny, but
- 26:03there was a demon on the gates of hell and it
- 26:07was a demon format Patrick Star from Spongebob.
- 26:16But he was terrifying and really scary. Did he
- 26:21sound like, hey demons, it's your boy. I swear
- 26:26to God, Angela, I never know what's going to
- 26:28come out of your stories. ever like every single
- 26:32story is a roller coaster it's like yeah i had
- 26:37a terrible dream that like really really affected
- 26:41me through my life and and i was in hell and
- 26:46there was a demon guarding the gates of hell
- 26:48it was patrick star was it the patrick star with
- 26:55the fishnets from the spongebob movie No, no,
- 26:59it was, I couldn't even tell you, but I'm just
- 27:02saying that was like one of the demons that was
- 27:04like on the gates of hell. Oh my God. I never
- 27:10looked at Pactric Star the same since then. And
- 27:13you know what really sucks though too is that
- 27:16every time I do see a clip with Pactric Star
- 27:18and I see how stupid he is, I'm just like. that's
- 27:22so unhumanly like because who's that stupid in
- 27:26real life that I'm like, okay, maybe he is a
- 27:28demon even in the show. I think you learned about
- 27:32me. Yeah, but this is intriguing. So when you
- 27:36say it resembled Patrick Star, do you mean the
- 27:39star shape? Yes, it was like a giant version
- 27:42of Patrick Star. Okay. Just more demon looking
- 27:46like. Okay. okay like one of those hyper realistic
- 27:51episodes of uh spongebob kind of honestly kind
- 27:56of okay i couldn't tell you when this dream was
- 28:00but i do remember that and that was an absolute
- 28:02that was like a true like dread like fear type
- 28:07of dream i had which it sounds so stupid once
- 28:10i know it doesn't it doesn't this is this is
- 28:13ironically the least stupid thing i've heard
- 28:15Oh, episode. Okay, so we also, by the way, did
- 28:18a whole episode about Nightmares and Dreams last
- 28:20week, and you failed to remember Patrick Stardemon.
- 28:23I did. Yeah, I don't know how I forgot about
- 28:27that, honestly. You really gotta get something
- 28:31that triggers that memory for me to talk about
- 28:34that. And whatever we were just talking about
- 28:36triggered that. Owls! This podcast is about owls.
- 28:41What's the topic? It's owls! Somehow we're talking
- 28:47about Hellspawn Patrick stars from Spongebob,
- 28:51but hyper -realistic in demon form. Sound like
- 28:56you said Hellsponge? Hellsponge. Yes. Are you
- 29:03ready, kids? Aye, aye, aye, Captain. Oh, who
- 29:09lives against the hell under the sea? patrick
- 29:12star oh anyway let's get back to the topic about
- 29:20okay no no i'm not done yet no no i need to ask
- 29:23you more questions okay keep going to derail
- 29:26this to something that's more interesting um
- 29:28no offense um so no but this is interesting to
- 29:34me it's impossible to ignore now that These owls
- 29:40could be a... I don't know, like... I'm, like,
- 29:50just thinking out loud here, so forgive me if
- 29:53this doesn't make sense, but could they be, like,
- 29:54watchers of the threshold? Could they be... Yeah,
- 29:59they do say that a lot about them. Yeah, so,
- 30:01like, they are not the entities, but they are
- 30:04the eyes for the entities, the earthbound. They
- 30:06can fly around. Yeah. and for the watchers yeah
- 30:11the threshold it's really interesting to me that
- 30:13perhaps the reason why um some people pass by
- 30:21an owl and don't see this and and the reason
- 30:24some people get deathly afraid is like i said
- 30:26before about you know threshold entities essentially
- 30:30being like a mirror and reflecting back what
- 30:32what you put into them right so um i don't know
- 30:36could it be um Also a warning sign if you're
- 30:40getting deep into paranormal stuff. You know,
- 30:42you said they were counting around UFO sightings
- 30:44because they'd be a byproduct or a symptom, so
- 30:46to speak, of the other activity going on. Didn't
- 30:48you also, Angela, when you were a kid, have paranormal
- 30:51activity happen at your house for like a year
- 30:53or two? Yeah, like mimicking type of things.
- 30:56When was that? Was that around the same time?
- 30:58I could not tell you. I think more teenage years.
- 31:02Okay, you need to figure out when that happened,
- 31:04because I'm willing to bet some weird stuff was
- 31:06happening in your life around that time. I couldn't
- 31:10tell you, because I remember I asked my mom,
- 31:14and I would tell her about this mimicking thing
- 31:16when I would hear my dad yell across the house,
- 31:18but he's at work. Or one time it was me and my
- 31:21mom alone at the house, and then I heard my sister,
- 31:26Emma, yell out. from at her in her room and but
- 31:32she wasn't home at the time too but i i remember
- 31:35bringing these things up to my mom like a few
- 31:38years ago and she was like i don't remember any
- 31:39of this i'm like how do you not remember any
- 31:42of this this stuff was weird and it creeped us
- 31:43out i remember mom that you were weirded out
- 31:46and creeped out about this stuff when this happened
- 31:49i don't know weird maybe it was the owls maybe
- 31:56it was the owls When you talk about that, though,
- 32:00because you're talking about when there's, like,
- 32:06the threshold, you know, between the realms and
- 32:14stuff, and how when people get too close to that
- 32:16threshold, it's usually this big fear and dread
- 32:20that comes across these people, you know? Usually
- 32:26when I hear the sound of owls when I get waking
- 32:29up in the middle of the night, it's this fear.
- 32:33And kind of closely resembles to these other
- 32:39experiences I've had that gotten close to the
- 32:43threshold, you know, which is kind of weird.
- 32:46It's a good connection you made. You know what's
- 32:50really odd and bizarre? is I'm feeling creeped
- 32:55out right now. Why? And I haven't felt creeped
- 33:00out. I haven't felt creeped out recording this
- 33:04podcast. I don't think ever. I mean, like...
- 33:07Are we making too much of a connection right
- 33:10now? I don't... I just... I feel... I don't know.
- 33:16It's something to pay attention to because you
- 33:17guys know that I thought this was the dumbest
- 33:20topic. I didn't do any research. i was just i
- 33:24thought it was going to be a hoot a hoot whoo
- 33:28okay but explain explain this fear that you're
- 33:31talking about the feeling i i feel like you have
- 33:34some sort some some sort of trauma too that talking
- 33:40about when your experiences was thresholds in
- 33:46your experiences with it you have some sort of
- 33:48trauma with it because you experience some really
- 33:50scary things sometimes Ben is that why you're
- 33:53getting like nervous suddenly well it's the same
- 33:56feeling as like talking about that dream that
- 34:00we talked about last week so yes perhaps it has
- 34:03something to do with that it's all wrapped up
- 34:05so not to derail the conversation about owls
- 34:11too much but the fact that it could be watchers,
- 34:14so to speak, of these thresholds is interesting,
- 34:19especially since we did just get and haven't
- 34:24used yet an old altar bell that's in the shape
- 34:31of an owl. When did we get this? I got it. It
- 34:35should be right in front of you. Let me grab
- 34:38it. I got it. I see it. It's literally right
- 34:42in front of me in front of the TV. That's really
- 34:49weird, honestly, though, because I totally forgot
- 34:52about it. The fact that it's an owl, that's really
- 34:55funny. That is actually pretty interesting. I
- 34:58find it interesting with the documentary we did
- 35:01on the Dweller and everything that owls didn't
- 35:04actually come up sooner. Why? I never knew any
- 35:09of this until this moment. No, I know, but like...
- 35:11Here it is. Since they're, like we've been saying,
- 35:14they are... Don't ring it, Angela. I think we
- 35:19gotta fix it. That's a good thing. Don't ring
- 35:22it on this podcast. Not right now. Not when we're
- 35:24talking about this stuff. But being that they,
- 35:27like we're saying, they're possible representations
- 35:31or are beings that are on the threshold or watchers.
- 35:37that is kind of like what the Dweller is. And
- 35:41it's kind of interesting that we haven't really
- 35:46made that connection previously. Or explored
- 35:50it previously. Well, it is interesting, too,
- 35:53because after we screened the film Dweller at
- 35:58the Midwest Weirdfest in Eau Claire, Did we have
- 36:01an hour experience? No, but we had this weird
- 36:04moment where Literally, as we were crossing state
- 36:08lines, as we were crossing the threshold, this
- 36:11car came out of nowhere. Oh, we almost died.
- 36:13Yeah, we got in this crazy accident. The fact
- 36:15that no one got hurt was insane. And come to
- 36:20find out, that county, randomly, is known for
- 36:25being a fluke spot in the Midwest where a lot
- 36:28of Mothman sightings are encountered. So that's
- 36:30a Mothman area. So it's interesting, too. That
- 36:34there's like this owl man. Tell me more about
- 36:36this owl. Is it just like a different... It's
- 36:39just a different iteration of Mothman. It's just
- 36:42the European version. It's literally... I just
- 36:48vaguely remember doing research on him at one
- 36:51point for MSU Paranormal Society. Anyway. What
- 36:58was I going to say? I was wine... To bring up
- 37:02another little story of a owl thing I had once.
- 37:10But it's just going to be random now. What is
- 37:14it? What happened? Well, this is more of like
- 37:17a cute little story type of thing. Well, you
- 37:21know, well, Ben, you know for sure that behind
- 37:25my parents' house is a park that used to be my...
- 37:29like grandparents and my great aunts and uncles
- 37:31and great great grandparents that owned it like
- 37:36they lived on that property it was the farm um
- 37:39but i remember the one of the first times uh
- 37:45i walked through that park shortly after it becoming
- 37:48an actual park and um part of the county and
- 37:53stuff We were all walking together, and there
- 37:56was this owl sitting in the tree. And it was
- 37:59plain as a day, as I never really seen an owl
- 38:01during the daytime, too, which is kind of interesting.
- 38:04But it was clear as day, like, sitting on one
- 38:07of the branches right outside there. It's, like,
- 38:09close enough where we could touch it. And I got
- 38:11a picture of it somewhere. I would have to dig
- 38:13through my phone, but I thought that's really
- 38:17interesting. Because they were talking about
- 38:19how... It's kind of like a messenger, kind of,
- 38:23or like a watcher. And sometimes, too, people
- 38:26feel owls as kind of like past loved ones, too,
- 38:33sometimes. Like, what's the word? It resembles
- 38:40death at times. And I was thinking, oh, maybe
- 38:45that's like, my grandma had that big feeling,
- 38:47too, when she saw the owl at the time. kind of
- 38:50got the feeling it was like maybe her dad like
- 38:54coming a reincarnation reincarnation of maybe
- 38:57like her dad coming to walk the trails with us
- 39:02at the time too because the weird thing too about
- 39:05that owl was that when we were walking down like
- 39:10it would kind of follow us on the trail a little
- 39:13bit like it was first time we saw the owl it
- 39:16was right on a branch like eye level we could
- 39:18touch it and it was just there looking at us
- 39:20and we'd keep walking and all of a sudden the
- 39:23owl would come and fly down the path with us
- 39:25a little bit stay at a close enough distance
- 39:28away from us but it would follow us slowly through
- 39:30the path and my grandma just like she I remember
- 39:33her talking about how she had these like goosebumps
- 39:39saying how it was like maybe her dad or her past
- 39:44loved ones that lived on the property with her
- 39:47just joining her for the first stroll through
- 39:50the park one of the first strolls through the
- 39:52park and i thought that was a very cute thing
- 39:55too yeah it is cute i think that's a great way
- 40:00to end this too um not on a note of fear but
- 40:04as uh as we said you know if these hours can
- 40:07be threshold type of entities. And on note of,
- 40:11you know, kind of... Yeah, owls don't always
- 40:15have to be scary. They can be a nice... They
- 40:19can go along with a lot of good, too. Yeah. I
- 40:23mean, they can also just be an animal. It could
- 40:26just be an animal, too. And if you sign up for
- 40:30our Patreon, we have a full... It's actually
- 40:36a 16 -hour long straight recording. No interruptions
- 40:41in the padlocked room with no dogs present. Brianna
- 40:44reciting every factoid she knows about every
- 40:47earthly owl. It took 16. We built one just to
- 40:54host this 16 -hour. It's linked to beyondtheafterlife
- 40:58.com. No, we created a Patreon because I couldn't
- 41:02get beyond the afterlife .com up and running
- 41:04yet. And we're like 13 episodes or something
- 41:06stupid into this fucking podcast. Oh, Lord. No,
- 41:13there is not going to actually be a video of
- 41:16me. That's 16 hours long. In a padlocked room
- 41:22without my dog. That's the crazy part of that.
- 41:30All right, on to the next. All right, bye. Thanks
