- 0:04Speaker 1: NFL power rankings is a production of the NFL in
- 0:07Speaker 1: partnership with I heart radio. Welcome, welcome in everybody, to
- 0:20Speaker 1: power rankings, brought to you by energizer. I am Colleen Wolf,
- 0:24Speaker 1: with Dan Hanss. What a week it was. Week two
- 0:28Speaker 1: did not disappoint. Um. How you feeling right now after
- 0:30Speaker 1: the rankings? Where are you up all night doing them,
- 0:33Speaker 1: I have to say, colleen, and great to see you.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Great to see you as well. I feel power in
- 0:42Speaker 1: a way I've never felt before. I think I've reached
- 0:47Speaker 1: the stage where the power rankings and Dan Hanss have
- 0:52Speaker 1: become one and I am now the power rankings, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: so there's an invincibility factor as I enter today's episode
- 1:01Speaker 1: that I think will potentially be an issue for you
- 1:03Speaker 1: in terms of Bait, but for the listener, yes, I
- 1:08Speaker 1: feel power. I think that's bad news for all of
- 1:11Speaker 1: us here at NFL media, but for your children. Love
- 1:14Speaker 1: that you're confidence for this episode of this show. I
- 1:18Speaker 1: think it's going to be good insight on the Third
- 1:20Speaker 1: League of thirty two. Okay, so Dan is feeling good
- 1:23Speaker 1: on this Tuesday. The tug boat is docked, ready to go,
- 1:27Speaker 1: and let's take a look at your top five. This
- 1:30Speaker 1: was a crazy, crazy week. Top Five here. Alright, Bill's
- 1:34Speaker 1: number one still holding steady in that topic. God, like literally,
- 1:41Speaker 1: they are unstoppable. Right now, hold on, we're gonna talk
- 1:43Speaker 1: about that. Let me just get through this. Sure no
- 1:48Speaker 1: one is going to knock them down all the spot.
- 1:51Speaker 1: They're going to probably be there for the entire whatever year.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So we got bill's chiefs, number two, Eagles. Eagles number
- 2:00Speaker 1: three is okay, there it is that one. They are
- 2:05Speaker 1: at four, down one spot, and then the packers at five,
- 2:08Speaker 1: up three. So before we get to the eagles, and
- 2:13Speaker 1: that's the only reason this podcast exists, is for you
- 2:16Speaker 1: to celebrate this moment, which I understand, because this is
- 2:19Speaker 1: exciting times in Philadelphia. I get it. Listen, I have
- 2:22Speaker 1: told you time and time and again that the attention
- 2:25Speaker 1: it's making me nervous. Um. But last night was a
- 2:28Speaker 1: really good game, but also the bills played as well
- 2:32Speaker 1: and they absolutely smacked the titans there in your number
- 2:35Speaker 1: one spot, and it's not even close, I would assume. Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: it's almost like the bills have reached the state of
- 2:41Speaker 1: their own power and it's it's they're in their own category.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They're in the power rankings of themselves. So it's weird
- 2:49Speaker 1: to even put them because the difference between one and two,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and the chiefs are a great team, it feels vast
- 2:55Speaker 1: right now. That's how good the bills are playing through
- 2:57Speaker 1: two weeks. You embarrass the defending champion Rams in the
- 3:01Speaker 1: season opener. Okay, that can happen. UH, the first game
- 3:05Speaker 1: of the year is always a little weird. It's like
- 3:07Speaker 1: eighty degrees. It's so fi stadium. You know, weird things happen.
- 3:11Speaker 1: But then to have the Monday night game against the titans,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and we understand the titans, even though they were the
- 3:16Speaker 1: number one seed last year, they've lost some players. They're
- 3:18Speaker 1: not the same team. But to absolutely hang a forty
- 3:22Speaker 1: one seven bomb on a Tennessee team that is typically
- 3:26Speaker 1: well coached and hard nosed just shows that the bills are, just,
- 3:30Speaker 1: like I said, in a class of their own. And
- 3:33Speaker 1: the and with the titans as an example, you're trying
- 3:35Speaker 1: to figure out where to drop the titans. I I
- 3:38Speaker 1: dropped them, but not too far, because I don't think
- 3:41Speaker 1: like what happened to the titans and the rams is
- 3:44Speaker 1: very much different than that would happened with twenty seven
- 3:47Speaker 1: other teams right now in the League. The bills are
- 3:49Speaker 1: just playing at a different speed and the titans right now,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you have them, you drop them three spots to twenty.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But I just think that the fact that the bills
- 3:59Speaker 1: are able to play this way and they're even down
- 4:02Speaker 1: a couple of players without Davis, I mean they had
- 4:06Speaker 1: some injuries on the defense. They still don't have tredavious white.
- 4:10Speaker 1: They had the scary situation with their cornerback that had
- 4:13Speaker 1: an ambulance come out on the field to take him off.
- 4:15Speaker 1: He's gonna be all right, thank God, Um, because that
- 4:18Speaker 1: was that was really scary to watch. But this is
- 4:21Speaker 1: a team that seems to be able to overcome anything
- 4:25Speaker 1: and really nothing is going to slow them down. Well,
- 4:28Speaker 1: this is where we get in trouble, though, Connie, because
- 4:30Speaker 1: it is week two and there will be a time.
- 4:34Speaker 1: You know, it's impossible to see that now for any
- 4:37Speaker 1: of us, there will be a time where they end
- 4:39Speaker 1: up in a close game and they will have to
- 4:41Speaker 1: show their ability to rise above a challenge. There could
- 4:44Speaker 1: be more injuries. You don't know. It's not gonna be
- 4:47Speaker 1: this easy, but the bills and their fans just enjoy it. Well,
- 4:50Speaker 1: last because this is very rare to see a team
- 4:53Speaker 1: that's just so clearly above their opponents and I thought
- 4:56Speaker 1: it was, you know, interesting to see Josh Allen, who
- 5:00Speaker 1: has a new offensive coordinator and play caller, and Ken
- 5:03Speaker 1: Dorsey H and during the summer when we're trying to
- 5:06Speaker 1: think of like, you know, potential issues for the bills
- 5:09Speaker 1: like well, Brian Dables gone, so maybe there will be
- 5:12Speaker 1: a learning curve that no, like we had to come
- 5:15Speaker 1: up with potential issues, and that's the thing. And Stefan Diggs,
- 5:18Speaker 1: and take this from a two thousand twenty one season
- 5:21Speaker 1: Stefan diggs fantasy owner, he is such a better player
- 5:26Speaker 1: through these two games that he ever was with Alan
- 5:29Speaker 1: last year. He's much closer to the version of Diggs
- 5:32Speaker 1: who was absolutely dominant the bills. And we're not even
- 5:35Speaker 1: getting into their defense. It's an incredible the way they're
- 5:38Speaker 1: playing all around. The Bills Defense has forced seven turnovers
- 5:42Speaker 1: through two games. And then the offense. They've outscored their
- 5:45Speaker 1: their opponents seventy two to seventeen. Seventy two to seventeen,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and that was against the defending Super Bowl Champs and
- 5:51Speaker 1: the number one seed from the A F C last year.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Who obviously don't look anything like a number one seed
- 5:56Speaker 1: yet through two weeks. So the bills. They're up top
- 5:59Speaker 1: at number one. But I want to get to the
- 6:02Speaker 1: team that has got rocketed up the rankings. Where did
- 6:06Speaker 1: they start the year? I want to say they were
- 6:09Speaker 1: in the around fifteen. They got up to ten last week,
- 6:12Speaker 1: so they were in the top ten entering week two.
- 6:14Speaker 1: And now the eagles. Yes, they're at number three and yes,
- 6:16Speaker 1: they absolutely earned it. That was one, okay, so fourteen
- 6:21Speaker 1: to three and two weeks. That's obviously they're making a
- 6:24Speaker 1: move here and they deserve it. A lot of it
- 6:27Speaker 1: Um goes back to jalen hurts, who, the way he's
- 6:30Speaker 1: looked in the pocket throwing the ball has been just unbelievable,
- 6:38Speaker 1: the progression he's showing. I think that's surprised me and
- 6:41Speaker 1: a lot of people that he's looked this good passing
- 6:43Speaker 1: the ball, because he's really impressive. Connie, and I want
- 6:45Speaker 1: to hear your thoughts on this running the ball and
- 6:48Speaker 1: how hard he runs, and it actually makes me a
- 6:50Speaker 1: little nervous when he stays up to get those extra yards.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But he's been so dominant from the pocket in the
- 6:55Speaker 1: first two weeks it's been really UH special to watch.
- 6:59Speaker 1: He's thrown for over three yards out a touchdown in
- 7:02Speaker 1: that game on Monday night and in two scores. Like
- 7:06Speaker 1: the question coming into the year about Jalen hurts and
- 7:09Speaker 1: really the Eagles in general, was Ken Jalen Take that
- 7:12Speaker 1: next step as a passer, sort of like we've talked
- 7:14Speaker 1: about with Lamar Jackson, but we saw it in very
- 7:18Speaker 1: small flashes Um last year as a passer. It was
- 7:21Speaker 1: all about his legs. They really needed to get that,
- 7:25Speaker 1: get that passing game going, and I think Howie Roseman
- 7:28Speaker 1: did an excellent job in the off season bringing in
- 7:31Speaker 1: a j brown. This week Davante Smith was way more
- 7:34Speaker 1: involved than he was week one. And then when you
- 7:38Speaker 1: have I just can't remember the last time that the
- 7:40Speaker 1: eagles had a dominant number one wide receiver like this
- 7:44Speaker 1: and a great cornerback like sleigh in the secondary, like
- 7:49Speaker 1: on the same roster at the same time like that
- 7:52Speaker 1: is something that I have to go way back, because
- 7:54Speaker 1: I guess it would be t o as a wide
- 7:56Speaker 1: receiver and maybe Assante Samuel. That's pretty good. That's a
- 8:00Speaker 1: pretty good one too, right there. And that team went
- 8:02Speaker 1: to the Super Bowl and hung tight, hung tough with
- 8:04Speaker 1: the Patriots Dynasty. Um, and you're right. That is that's
- 8:08Speaker 1: kind of a sneaky great combo that any big time
- 8:11Speaker 1: team needs. You need that that number one wide receiver,
- 8:14Speaker 1: which a J Brown is, and you need that playmaker
- 8:17Speaker 1: in the back end of a defense that can negate
- 8:20Speaker 1: a star player on the opposing offense, like Justin Jefferson,
- 8:24Speaker 1: who was largely erased in this game. And you talked
- 8:27Speaker 1: about it a lot, Connie, last week, both on this
- 8:29Speaker 1: program and on around the NFL. You you you had
- 8:32Speaker 1: an issue with Devonta Smith not being in the offense
- 8:35Speaker 1: as much, and then I looked at the way Jalen
- 8:37Speaker 1: hurt spread the ball around. Dallas Goddard, five catches, Smith, seven,
- 8:40Speaker 1: Quez Watkins to uh in a touchdown, a j brown
- 8:44Speaker 1: five for sixty nine. Um, you didn't know. I don't
- 8:48Speaker 1: think it was a great game plan by Minnesota's defense,
- 8:50Speaker 1: but that also I don't want to take away by
- 8:52Speaker 1: how great this attack of Philadelphia can be with a
- 8:55Speaker 1: dominant offensive line behind it. Yeah, it was. It was
- 8:59Speaker 1: really interesting to see the eagles play this way, dominate
- 9:02Speaker 1: the vikings in prime time at home against a team
- 9:06Speaker 1: that last week week one, everybody was raving about Kevin O'CONNELL.
- 9:10Speaker 1: They loved this new head coach and what he was
- 9:13Speaker 1: able to do. And then, I mean, everything kind of
- 9:16Speaker 1: fell apart for the Vikings. So this was this was was,
- 9:21Speaker 1: but number three, number three in the rankings for the eagles.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Was that difficult for you to put them up that high?
- 9:28Speaker 1: Did you? You just the top ten? I don't have
- 9:31Speaker 1: them right there. I don't have any issues with the eagles.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I don't. I don't have a dog in the fight
- 9:35Speaker 1: in the NFC east as a fan, if that's what
- 9:37Speaker 1: you're insinuating. So I am. I'm totally confident putting them
- 9:41Speaker 1: at three. and Uh yeah, Kirk cousins was a disaster
- 9:44Speaker 1: against that eagles pass rush which which is all over
- 9:47Speaker 1: him and Darius slay. That's an all pro performance. Okay,
- 9:50Speaker 1: so we got let's go to the packers here at
- 9:53Speaker 1: five and uh listen, I guess this guy is not falling,
- 9:57Speaker 1: falling in Green Bay at this point. Well, that's why
- 10:00Speaker 1: I kept them in the top ten last week and
- 10:02Speaker 1: I was getting some heat from the twitter verse. Twitter,
- 10:06Speaker 1: of course, is the playground of idiots, as we know,
- 10:09Speaker 1: but we do love the idiots, because it's not just
- 10:12Speaker 1: idiots on twitter's fine who we love on twitter, but
- 10:19Speaker 1: let's stay focused. Um. The Green Bay packers obviously have
- 10:23Speaker 1: work to do in terms of figuring out their offensive
- 10:27Speaker 1: passing game, but I thought the game against the bears,
- 10:30Speaker 1: although not an overwhelming effort, the win, just showed how
- 10:36Speaker 1: we forget how good Aaron Jones is. We forget that
- 10:39Speaker 1: a j dillon could be a starter on twenty five
- 10:41Speaker 1: other teams potentially. and they're both behind Aaron Rodgers, in
- 10:45Speaker 1: front of an offensive line that is starting to get healthy.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And you you put it together and it's like yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 1: the packers, especially playing in the NFC north, are gonna
- 10:54Speaker 1: have time to figure out this passing game and you imagine,
- 10:57Speaker 1: with one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, that they will
- 11:00Speaker 1: get to a point of proficiency and then all you
- 11:02Speaker 1: gotta do is combine that with an amazing run game
- 11:05Speaker 1: and then a very good defense. The packers are going
- 11:07Speaker 1: to be okay. I said it last week. Nothing changed
- 11:10Speaker 1: about how I feel about them. I pump them up
- 11:12Speaker 1: to the top five because their top five NFL team
- 11:15Speaker 1: and they got the w feeling good about Green Bay.
- 11:17Speaker 1: The running game look great for them. Four fumbles in
- 11:20Speaker 1: two games is a little concern. I'm not too worried
- 11:25Speaker 1: about that, but they do have the bucks coming up
- 11:27Speaker 1: this week in week three Sunday, so that's something to
- 11:30Speaker 1: keep an eye on. So that's the top five. But
- 11:32Speaker 1: we still have not seen the dolphins. Where where might
- 11:37Speaker 1: they land? And Dances is rankings? Find out when we
- 11:41Speaker 1: come back. Now I want to take a look at
- 12:00Speaker 1: your team's five through ten. Here you have the ram
- 12:04Speaker 1: at six. They are down two spots. You got the
- 12:08Speaker 1: chargers at seven, also down two spots. The dolphins shooting
- 12:13Speaker 1: up five spots to the number eight. I want to
- 12:17Speaker 1: talk about them niners at nine and then the ravens
- 12:20Speaker 1: at ten. So with the dolphins after that insane game,
- 12:25Speaker 1: I mean Mike mcdaniel is doing all sorts of things.
- 12:29Speaker 1: How could you not root for to uh? It's just
- 12:32Speaker 1: seeing that offense actually work like this at such a
- 12:35Speaker 1: high level. I mean the fact that they're at number
- 12:37Speaker 1: eight in your rankings, up five spots the two. It's like,
- 12:40Speaker 1: how could you not root for two people act like
- 12:42Speaker 1: TWAS this huge underdog. He was number five overall pick
- 12:47Speaker 1: everyone dunking on him. Since he's been in the Leagu
- 12:51Speaker 1: so he's overcome some criticism from the outside in this
- 12:54Speaker 1: game and, uh, that is a special moment for members
- 12:59Speaker 1: of two and on Um, who were able to step
- 13:01Speaker 1: out of the shadows of the dark web and celebrate
- 13:04Speaker 1: what was an outrageous performance. I mean, they scored touchdowns
- 13:09Speaker 1: on their last four drives of the game in the
- 13:11Speaker 1: fourth quarter, with two of throwing a touchdown pass in
- 13:14Speaker 1: each of those and I think it's crazy. It's not
- 13:16Speaker 1: always gonna work like this, but this is a situation
- 13:19Speaker 1: with tyreek hill and Jalen waddle where, in a shootout,
- 13:24Speaker 1: if your secondaries having issues like Baltimore was, you're you're done.
- 13:29Speaker 1: If you have an accurate quarterback who's thrown well and
- 13:31Speaker 1: getting protected, waddle and Hill are gonna keep getting open
- 13:35Speaker 1: and the team's gonna keep scoring. So I think this
- 13:37Speaker 1: was the proof of concept game for Mike mcdaniel and
- 13:40Speaker 1: the dolphins offense and to a deserves absolutely although I
- 13:43Speaker 1: don't think he's somebody that we need to cheer on
- 13:46Speaker 1: like he's Rudy Ruddiger. UHBODY. I'm just saying. It's like,
- 13:51Speaker 1: why do we need to make it more than what
- 13:52Speaker 1: it is? He was under he's been a disappointing on balance. UH,
- 13:57Speaker 1: first round pick who now had a huge game. It
- 14:00Speaker 1: doesn't mean now he's a superstar. I think there's this
- 14:02Speaker 1: like I'm just just a little bit. It doesn't mean
- 14:06Speaker 1: now this is who too is either. Like he has
- 14:08Speaker 1: been an up and down guy in his career. Let's
- 14:10Speaker 1: see if he could stack some games. But that was awesome.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Is this in the A F C East biased? I
- 14:16Speaker 1: mean I moved them up into the top ten. The
- 14:19Speaker 1: dolphins are in the top ten. They're ahead of the
- 14:22Speaker 1: forty niners there, ahead of let's see, who else is
- 14:25Speaker 1: on here? There actually too. So your point. That shows that, Um,
- 14:31Speaker 1: I'm a beacon of integrity, because I could have easily
- 14:34Speaker 1: Pooh pooed it and kept the dolphins and the teens.
- 14:38Speaker 1: But no, you need to respect what they've done. In
- 14:40Speaker 1: Week one they shut down the UH defense offense of
- 14:45Speaker 1: the Patriots, and maybe that wasn't such a big task.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And the reason I had him in our twilight zone
- 14:50Speaker 1: at number thirteen going into this week was because they
- 14:52Speaker 1: only scored thirteen points against the Patriots in week one.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So now they go and they blow up on offense.
- 14:58Speaker 1: So we've seen the ceiling on both sides of the
- 15:00Speaker 1: ball and it's very high, very interesting to see what
- 15:03Speaker 1: happens uh in week three with the dolphins. This is
- 15:05Speaker 1: such an interesting team. There's someone that could immediately wreck
- 15:10Speaker 1: postseason plans. I think, just as a week to observation,
- 15:14Speaker 1: way too early observation, just looking into what teams could
- 15:18Speaker 1: really spice things up later if they continue on this path.
- 15:21Speaker 1: But keep in mind they're playing the bills this week.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So that's what I mean. This is this is they
- 15:28Speaker 1: did a great job winning a shootout with Lamar, who
- 15:30Speaker 1: was playing out of his mind himself in that game.
- 15:33Speaker 1: The bills are a whole other thing. Like all right, Connie,
- 15:37Speaker 1: if the dolphins beat the bills yes week, oh my God,
- 15:41Speaker 1: dolphins might be number one in the power ranking. Stop it,
- 15:45Speaker 1: that's not happening. But I'm saying that is it's gonna
- 15:47Speaker 1: be very hard for anyone who does an exercise like this,
- 15:50Speaker 1: and you know there is only one power rankings, it's
- 15:54Speaker 1: these are and everybody else just stopped at a certain point,
- 15:58Speaker 1: but they haven't yet um the dolphins it. You know,
- 16:03Speaker 1: I didn't need to I wasn't going to say that,
- 16:05Speaker 1: but it is adorable. It's adorable. I know, I love it.
- 16:07Speaker 1: That's great, Um. You are the authority, though, and the
- 16:10Speaker 1: authority hast doing it. Niners at nine, up two spots.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Jimmy g running the show now. Are you optimistic that
- 16:24Speaker 1: they're going to stay in the top ten? Now? Jimmy
- 16:27Speaker 1: g running the show. Yes, I had him at number
- 16:30Speaker 1: three to open the season and then that weird game
- 16:33Speaker 1: in the rain in Chicago. You didn't know to make
- 16:36Speaker 1: sense of him. Then it just you know, it's brutal
- 16:37Speaker 1: what happened, obviously with Trey Lance, who deserved a chance
- 16:43Speaker 1: to prove himself, and now he goes for ankle surgery.
- 16:46Speaker 1: He's gonna miss another year in the San Francisco is
- 16:48Speaker 1: now in the place of Man. NEXT SUMMER WE'RE gonna
- 16:52Speaker 1: be in the same situation again with this kid not
- 16:54Speaker 1: having any idea whether or not he's a real, big
- 16:57Speaker 1: time player. But that's for down the road. For now
- 17:00Speaker 1: they're just extremely fortunate their season is not over. Like
- 17:03Speaker 1: there is a there was at one point. There were
- 17:06Speaker 1: interviews that Kyle Shannon was giving in July, like it
- 17:10Speaker 1: was great having Jimmy G on this team. We went.
- 17:12Speaker 1: We wish him the best. We're sorry it didn't work out,
- 17:15Speaker 1: but it's gonna be great whatever happens next. And then
- 17:17Speaker 1: he stays and everyone's like, oh, that's nice as a
- 17:20Speaker 1: security blanket. And now in week three he is the
- 17:24Speaker 1: leader of the offense again. And not for nothing, and
- 17:26Speaker 1: this is something we've talked about Connie when he had
- 17:29Speaker 1: that qb sneak for the touchdown on Sunday. Way those
- 17:33Speaker 1: players reacted. They wanted Jimmy G in the lineup all
- 17:36Speaker 1: along and you and you could say that's unfair to
- 17:39Speaker 1: to tray lance or or the forts. We're not. We're
- 17:43Speaker 1: ignoring the warning signs here. But this team, I feel
- 17:46Speaker 1: like it's going to be a better, steadier group with
- 17:49Speaker 1: Jimmy g leading it. And it's a bummer for Lance,
- 17:52Speaker 1: but in terms of the niners chances of winning a
- 17:55Speaker 1: super bowl, I think they're the odds. Went up with it.
- 17:57Speaker 1: They're so lucky that this worked out the way, the
- 18:01Speaker 1: way that the universe kind of it seemed like the
- 18:03Speaker 1: universe was con firing against them. They were way too open,
- 18:07Speaker 1: even at the combine about their plans with moving Jimmy
- 18:10Speaker 1: G and moving on to tray lance while he was
- 18:12Speaker 1: still on the roster, and then he was like, this
- 18:15Speaker 1: is strange quarterback that was there just hanging out and
- 18:18Speaker 1: they didn't know what to do with the only reason
- 18:19Speaker 1: this happened is the timing of Jimmy g shoulder surgery
- 18:23Speaker 1: right led to his trademarket disappearing. Otherwise it's a rap
- 18:27Speaker 1: and it's a rap for San Francisco there in the
- 18:30Speaker 1: powering is right now. But but they're not. Instead, Jimmy
- 18:33Speaker 1: G is about to get his first practice reps with
- 18:36Speaker 1: the one since January. We were so happy watched that
- 18:39Speaker 1: replay again. How the offensive linemens or smacking him in
- 18:43Speaker 1: the helmet and laughing together. It was like old buddies,
- 18:46Speaker 1: old war buddies, seeing each other again. Yeah, I'm excited
- 18:49Speaker 1: to see the game that they have coming up against
- 18:51Speaker 1: the broncos. Old Jimmy G and Russell Wilson on the
- 18:54Speaker 1: same field like that. I know we hate to see that,
- 18:58Speaker 1: especially this early in the secene. Well, that's not what
- 19:00Speaker 1: you told me privately before the show, but okay, probably
- 19:03Speaker 1: into a microphone. Okay, eleven through fifteen, your teams for
- 19:07Speaker 1: week three. We got the Vikings falling four spots at eleven,
- 19:11Speaker 1: the bengals falling three at twelve, the saints down one
- 19:15Speaker 1: at thirteen, the cardinals up eight spots at fourteen. We're
- 19:19Speaker 1: gonna talk about them, and then the raiders down one
- 19:22Speaker 1: at fifteen. So the cardinals. Um, it's a pretty big
- 19:26Speaker 1: jump for a team that didn't look great for most
- 19:30Speaker 1: of that game. This is again, like we talked about
- 19:33Speaker 1: last week, this time of season there's gonna be big
- 19:35Speaker 1: jumps and and big free falls as we kind of
- 19:38Speaker 1: figure out where these teams fit in. Because how could
- 19:41Speaker 1: you have the cardinals anywhere but in the twenties after
- 19:44Speaker 1: the way they played in week one against the chiefs?
- 19:47Speaker 1: They just looked unprepared and frankly that's how they looked
- 19:50Speaker 1: for the first half of this game as well against
- 19:53Speaker 1: the raiders. But it was a reminder to people like
- 19:57Speaker 1: me and others who were like not out on Kyler Murray,
- 20:01Speaker 1: but we're starting to think maybe that extension will the
- 20:06Speaker 1: cardinals live to regret it. And then you see what
- 20:08Speaker 1: he did in this game and he's just a singular
- 20:10Speaker 1: one of one talent and athlete at quarterback and it's
- 20:15Speaker 1: just like, okay, they need to be taken seriously because
- 20:18Speaker 1: he's on the field. Um, so as much as I
- 20:21Speaker 1: haven't liked what I saw in four quarters in week one,
- 20:24Speaker 1: in the first two quarters, a week too, what happened
- 20:26Speaker 1: in the third, fourth and overtime. It made you sit
- 20:29Speaker 1: up and say, okay, keep the cardinals in the middle
- 20:31Speaker 1: of the pack, in the middle of power. They got,
- 20:34Speaker 1: they have the talent right there, but they just can't
- 20:36Speaker 1: keep relying on these heroics to pull them out of
- 20:39Speaker 1: these situations. Maybe that's what the maybe that's what Kyler
- 20:42Speaker 1: Murray team is. Maybe that makes it a fun, maybe
- 20:46Speaker 1: ultimately hollow experience, because that's maybe not how you win
- 20:50Speaker 1: super bowls. But they're always going to be entertaining because
- 20:52Speaker 1: they have him. It went healthy in the middle of things.
- 20:55Speaker 1: He also has to stay healthy, which has been an
- 20:56Speaker 1: issue in the least couple of years. That's such a tease, though,
- 20:59Speaker 1: if you're a cardinals fan, that's like, I can't say
- 21:02Speaker 1: the equivalent of what the term is that I'm thinking about,
- 21:06Speaker 1: but it's someone, it's something boy like in your life
- 21:10Speaker 1: that you know is uh, he doesn't want to go,
- 21:13Speaker 1: he doesn't want to commit Um, he just hang out
- 21:17Speaker 1: all the time. Right. The cardinals are kind of that,
- 21:21Speaker 1: a fudge boy. Yeah, and if you're a cardinals man.
- 21:24Speaker 1: It's like, okay, more inappropriate actually actually saying take that out.
- 21:30Speaker 1: We cannot, it's too late. Um. Yeah, so I hate
- 21:34Speaker 1: the fact that we just said that. I mean, by
- 21:37Speaker 1: the way stuff. Can I also say this first round pick,
- 21:40Speaker 1: Isaiah Simmons, who has been not great um to step
- 21:46Speaker 1: up and force that fumble that led to the Byron
- 21:49Speaker 1: Murphy Junior pick up and scoop and scoreing overtime. That's
- 21:52Speaker 1: big for his confidence. I thought it was an interesting
- 21:55Speaker 1: cliff kingsbury quote. After on Monday, I believe it was
- 21:59Speaker 1: he can be as good as he wants. It's commitment
- 22:01Speaker 1: to football all day, every day. We've seen the flashes.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Like it's very clear. They're like, Isaiah Simmons, you're not
- 22:07Speaker 1: working hard enough, just like Kyler Murray. In that bizarre
- 22:11Speaker 1: UH contract clause, like they need he's asking for buying
- 22:15Speaker 1: from another first round pick, which again tells you that
- 22:18Speaker 1: it's a little weird. It's still a wobbly house in Arizona.
- 22:21Speaker 1: That's my thing. That seems like a culture thing. That
- 22:23Speaker 1: seems like a coaching thing. That seems like the guys
- 22:26Speaker 1: could be way better on the field, because the talent
- 22:29Speaker 1: is there but they're just not maybe applying themselves right
- 22:31Speaker 1: and also, you know, cliff using that moment to kind
- 22:34Speaker 1: of call him out and put that quote out there,
- 22:37Speaker 1: although he's been pretty open about his frustrations with Simmons.
- 22:39Speaker 1: But anyway, that's all negative stuff. For one week at least,
- 22:43Speaker 1: the cardinals kind of got their house in order and Um,
- 22:46Speaker 1: it was a fun game to watch. Another incredible comeback
- 22:49Speaker 1: on Sunday. What a week it was, honestly, and those
- 22:52Speaker 1: Primetime Games showed up. Overcoming Twenty three to seven, I
- 22:56Speaker 1: mean that fourth quarter deficit to force over time with
- 22:59Speaker 1: two point conversion at Zeros and then like that was
- 23:03Speaker 1: just a crazy. The next Gen stats on the first
- 23:06Speaker 1: two point conversion, Murray had the first of two. They
- 23:09Speaker 1: needed a touchdown in two and a touchdown in the
- 23:12Speaker 1: two to force overtime. I think he ran close to
- 23:14Speaker 1: ninety yards according to next gen stats, before scampering in
- 23:18Speaker 1: with those, you know, little little scampering feet of Kyler
- 23:21Speaker 1: with the big old helmet. It is really amazing to
- 23:24Speaker 1: watch him run. His whole body kind of flails around,
- 23:28Speaker 1: his arms and everything too. He puts it. I mean
- 23:30Speaker 1: that is a full body effort when he is running
- 23:32Speaker 1: and scrambling. It's all and it's a it's a magical thing. Okay,
- 23:35Speaker 1: so there we have it. The cardinals right there, ranked
- 23:40Speaker 1: at fourteen. But when we come back we're going to
- 23:42Speaker 1: talk about the two top teams. You need some kyler
- 23:45Speaker 1: sounds like that runner, kind of a roadrunner thing like that.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Speaking of road runners. Well, that's good. Trouble Henry. Maybe
- 23:58Speaker 1: we're gonna talkhols in sight. It's going up. Hey, Dan dot,
- 24:20Speaker 1: do a little power moves presented by energizer. I feel
- 24:24Speaker 1: like we're gonna do it either way. Here we go
- 24:28Speaker 1: from week two. The lions up ten spots at sixteen.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Look at them move. We got the cardinals up eight
- 24:35Speaker 1: spots at fourteen. The Eagles jumped seven up to the
- 24:39Speaker 1: number three spot in your power rankings, which is still
- 24:41Speaker 1: kind of crazy. Holy Healthy Eagles are at three. Uh.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Then the jets up seven and the cowboys up six
- 24:49Speaker 1: spots at one, with cooper rush manning the show. But
- 24:53Speaker 1: the Lions, okay, up ten spots at sixteen. I saw
- 24:58Speaker 1: a great stat over the weekend that the lions have
- 25:01Speaker 1: scored thirty five or more points in each of their
- 25:03Speaker 1: opening two games. For the first time since nineteen seven days,
- 25:07Speaker 1: they're doing things and I love it. Yes, that that
- 25:10Speaker 1: nugget was included in the NFL dot com power rankings
- 25:13Speaker 1: by Old Zeuser U. I'm not saying that's where you
- 25:15Speaker 1: got it, but you could find that nugget there as well,
- 25:18Speaker 1: and you know I plagiarize you, though. I should just
- 25:22Speaker 1: read and then I just stay silent and we're out
- 25:26Speaker 1: in twelve. Um, the lions. I almost looked at it
- 25:30Speaker 1: just now when you were just going down. Is that
- 25:32Speaker 1: overly generous? But now it's not. They deserved to be
- 25:36Speaker 1: viewed as a certified frisky team, the Lions, because we
- 25:41Speaker 1: saw how great the eagles looked in week two. Uh,
- 25:44Speaker 1: the lions hung with them in their building and a
- 25:47Speaker 1: thirty five loss in week one and then just took
- 25:51Speaker 1: it to Washington. They had the commanders and they really
- 25:54Speaker 1: took it to the commanders. Um Unbelievable. Their ability to
- 25:59Speaker 1: just carve up Washington through the air and then also
- 26:02Speaker 1: do what they wanted on the ground. Owned it was
- 26:05Speaker 1: just a great offensive performance, and I don't think this
- 26:07Speaker 1: is flukey. I think if Jared Goff gets protected with
- 26:10Speaker 1: the weapons around him, our old friend, offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson. Yes,
- 26:15Speaker 1: he deserves credit for what's going on here. Of course,
- 26:18Speaker 1: due Staley, the assistant coach, that whole coaching stuff. So yes,
- 26:22Speaker 1: maybe there's some residual hard knocks, love and adoration I
- 26:26Speaker 1: have for this team, but at the same time I
- 26:28Speaker 1: don't think this has been a team playing over its head.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I think they're going to compete and win games this year.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Alman Raw St Brown what a game looks like a
- 26:38Speaker 1: potential number one wide receiver, and deandre swift had eighty
- 26:41Speaker 1: seven totally awards on a touchdown on seven touches in
- 26:45Speaker 1: this game. He is knocking on the door of the
- 26:46Speaker 1: superstar club. Yeah, so it was an offensive breakout for
- 26:49Speaker 1: the lions mentioned in the first half. It was another
- 26:56Speaker 1: great and they started out with two home games, which
- 26:58Speaker 1: is perfect because all those great lions fans, they just
- 27:02Speaker 1: want something to cheer for and then you get to
- 27:04Speaker 1: home games and two entertaining games in a W and
- 27:07Speaker 1: week two. So yes, they deserve to be up ten spots.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I feel good about that ranking. I think that, let's see,
- 27:13Speaker 1: cowboys fans are not going to be happy that the
- 27:16Speaker 1: lions are one to three, four, five spots but that's
- 27:20Speaker 1: exactly what I'm talking about. There's this idea that we
- 27:23Speaker 1: need to keep the Lions in there were losers bubble,
- 27:26Speaker 1: and it's like, I think they're better. I think we're
- 27:28Speaker 1: seeing that they're better and that that's just the way
- 27:31Speaker 1: it is. Don't get don't look at the lions like
- 27:33Speaker 1: the two thousand eighteen lions, looking at them as the
- 27:35Speaker 1: Dan Campbell Grit Warriors. I like the ear a lions. Ally,
- 27:39Speaker 1: you are you're bringing them along in many ways. Um,
- 27:44Speaker 1: that's what everybody says about Dan, but mostly the lions,
- 27:47Speaker 1: the football team. Right. Okay, so they are sixteen in
- 27:51Speaker 1: your power rankings for this week. Let's go now to
- 27:54Speaker 1: teams sixteen through twenty. We got the lions passionate about
- 27:58Speaker 1: what actually matters to Dan. What what makes him tip? UH,
- 28:03Speaker 1: the Detroit foot ball team in the NFL. That's it.
- 28:06Speaker 1: That's the only thing that actually matters to me. He's
- 28:08Speaker 1: dead inside. The broncos at seventeen. They're down one spot.
- 28:12Speaker 1: You got the Patriots up five, at eight, okay, and
- 28:17Speaker 1: then the two and o giants sitting at Nineteen in
- 28:21Speaker 1: the power rankings. They're up two spots and the titans
- 28:24Speaker 1: down three at twenty. The A F C South is
- 28:28Speaker 1: Um a hot mess right now. So at this point,
- 28:32Speaker 1: with the titans coming off that horrendous loss to the bills,
- 28:36Speaker 1: how much of this ranking is sort of a factor
- 28:41Speaker 1: of past performants to kind of keep them up here
- 28:43Speaker 1: twenty a little bit? You know why? The reason I
- 28:46Speaker 1: didn't bury him after Monday night, which again it was ugly.
- 28:49Speaker 1: They lost by thirty five points. I think the bills
- 28:51Speaker 1: scored Um five straight touchdowns after the game was tied.
- 28:55Speaker 1: So yes, it wasn't it wasn't good, but I also
- 28:58Speaker 1: factor in the opponent and I don't think anybody was
- 29:02Speaker 1: going to buffalo in that setting on Monday night and
- 29:05Speaker 1: winning or even potentially competing. So it shows again that
- 29:09Speaker 1: the titans, even last year when they were the number
- 29:11Speaker 1: one seed, are not a superpower. But now they're a
- 29:13Speaker 1: team that is very clearly missing a j brown, their
- 29:18Speaker 1: former number one wide receiver. You see that on the
- 29:20Speaker 1: field and I thought it was telling that when this
- 29:22Speaker 1: team was down a lot of points, that kept on
- 29:25Speaker 1: giving it to Derrick Henry. Is If that's gonna do it,
- 29:27Speaker 1: and we don't even know Derrick Henry is the same
- 29:29Speaker 1: guy right now. So per carry. I think you could
- 29:33Speaker 1: definitely make the case and come at me a little
- 29:35Speaker 1: bit and say you should have the titans lower based
- 29:37Speaker 1: on what they've done in the first two weeks. They
- 29:39Speaker 1: blew the game to the giants in week one, but
- 29:41Speaker 1: maybe there is just a residual amount of respect for
- 29:45Speaker 1: what they've been able to do. They still have the
- 29:47Speaker 1: head coach, they still have the quarterback, Henry is still
- 29:50Speaker 1: in the field. Maybe they get some things figured out,
- 29:53Speaker 1: but it's been a bad start. So you're grading teams
- 29:56Speaker 1: sort of on a curve. Who Play the bills? Yeah,
- 29:59Speaker 1: a little bit saying. There are many facts. I don't
- 30:02Speaker 1: share all the secret I'M gonna press out. But yes,
- 30:06Speaker 1: if you're playing an absolute powerhouse and you're putting an
- 30:08Speaker 1: impossible let's face it, like the NFL scheduling. Gods don't
- 30:11Speaker 1: want me saying this, but you know I am the
- 30:13Speaker 1: bad boy of NFL media. They were sent there to
- 30:15Speaker 1: be slaughtered. It's been shifted officially. Um, it's shifts, it
- 30:20Speaker 1: moves around. They were sent to western New York to
- 30:24Speaker 1: be slaughtered. That was entertainment. That was some Roman colisseum stuff, uh,
- 30:29Speaker 1: and that's what happened. So everybody got what they wanted,
- 30:31Speaker 1: except for titans fans. Nobody what you want. Everybody want
- 30:35Speaker 1: all the bills. Oh, let's eat some wings, let's send
- 30:37Speaker 1: our viral videos out, let's let's enjoy what a great
- 30:40Speaker 1: team that says. Jim Kelly's on the field. It's a party.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I'm kind of cooled to two like but let's not,
- 30:47Speaker 1: let's not lose sight of the fact that the titans
- 30:49Speaker 1: were sent up there to be sent home. Nobody wants
- 30:53Speaker 1: to go on that trip. Nobody wants it's true. It's true.
- 30:57Speaker 1: So zip him up and send him back to Tennessee,
- 30:59Speaker 1: forty one to seven was not a great loss. Um,
- 31:03Speaker 1: all right, we're just going to move on. Typically not. Okay,
- 31:08Speaker 1: teams that fell. Uh, we're gonna call them the power failures.
- 31:13Speaker 1: That's what these are here, um teams. So it's not
- 31:17Speaker 1: a power failure. They're all power failures. They're a failures
- 31:21Speaker 1: for some reason. That for one week. You know, this week.
- 31:24Speaker 1: We gotta tell the Energizer, rubber stamp, that that seems
- 31:27Speaker 1: like a personal text. They're down eleven spots. I am very,
- 31:32Speaker 1: very concerned about the colts. How could you not be?
- 31:35Speaker 1: I was on Good Morning Football today, as I am
- 31:38Speaker 1: every Tuesday morning, early wake up call for old Z user.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Tuesdays are tough and I do it about Tuesdays, uh,
- 31:46Speaker 1: and they were giving me quite amount, quite an amount
- 31:48Speaker 1: of guff about how can the cults be anywhere else
- 31:51Speaker 1: but thirty two, and you could argue that that's how
- 31:54Speaker 1: bad and non competitive um the cults were. And getting
- 31:59Speaker 1: shut out by the Jaguars of all teams. After you know,
- 32:02Speaker 1: I think the Texans are the worst team in football.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I have him at thirty two in the rankings. Spoiler alert,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and the fact that they couldn't beat the Texans in
- 32:10Speaker 1: week one, and I know the kicker that they got
- 32:12Speaker 1: rid of played a role in that. It's just the
- 32:14Speaker 1: team's lost and I think there are a couple of
- 32:16Speaker 1: things that play here. You don't have Shack Leonard, that's
- 32:19Speaker 1: the most important player in their defense, who not only
- 32:21Speaker 1: is a stabilizing force and a leader, but he is
- 32:24Speaker 1: no one's better at forcing turnovers at the linebacker position,
- 32:27Speaker 1: which changes the game, shortens fields, puts Jonathan Taylor in
- 32:31Speaker 1: a better position, puts the offense in a better position.
- 32:33Speaker 1: You're playing without Michael Pittman against Jacksonville and then if
- 32:37Speaker 1: you have Matt Ryan, that's cool. The idea of Matt
- 32:40Speaker 1: Ryan as an upgrade makes sense, but only if the
- 32:42Speaker 1: offensive line is supposed is as great as we were
- 32:46Speaker 1: expecting it to be, and that hasn't been the case either.
- 32:48Speaker 1: So it has been a power failure for the failures
- 32:52Speaker 1: in Indianapolis. But the reason I have him at twenty
- 32:55Speaker 1: six and not last in the League because, yeah, I
- 32:58Speaker 1: do like Frank Reich, I do like Ryan, I'd like
- 33:00Speaker 1: the offensive line. I Know Pittman and Leonard will come back. Um,
- 33:04Speaker 1: so not willing to just completely bury them, but they
- 33:07Speaker 1: were at number twelve countie when the season started. This
- 33:09Speaker 1: is a team that was so, so, so high on.
- 33:12Speaker 1: They have all. I know this is so embarrassing for you. Yes,
- 33:18Speaker 1: it is a power failure. They're gonna they tie the Texans.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Why are you not on the list of power failures,
- 33:24Speaker 1: because you know you should have put me on there.
- 33:26Speaker 1: You puffed your chest, you were the authorities. I thought
- 33:28Speaker 1: you were the guy that does the team. I don't
- 33:33Speaker 1: see you leading with a MIA culpa. You're throwing it
- 33:36Speaker 1: to me. It's time for you to say you know what,
- 33:40Speaker 1: I'm a power failure. It's I mean, when it comes
- 33:43Speaker 1: to the cults, absolutely, I will own up to it.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I don't understand why they continually start so slow. I
- 33:51Speaker 1: don't know what happened. Carson wentz is probably loving this
- 33:54Speaker 1: right now. Can I well, yeah, but can I? Can
- 33:58Speaker 1: I say something that as bad as the cults look,
- 34:00Speaker 1: would you be surprised I have a choice in this
- 34:03Speaker 1: or not? Really, would you be surprised if, in late
- 34:05Speaker 1: December they have some big game with the titans or
- 34:08Speaker 1: whatever and it's for the division title like that certainly
- 34:11Speaker 1: still feels like a possibility. We get, especially in this world,
- 34:15Speaker 1: you kind of expect whatever it is right now to
- 34:17Speaker 1: be the way it is. I think they will figure
- 34:20Speaker 1: some things out, but it is heavily they just they
- 34:22Speaker 1: don't look prepared at all. It looks very sloppy. This
- 34:26Speaker 1: was not what I was sold in terms of the
- 34:28Speaker 1: offensive line working. Ultimately, we should have taken me into consideration.
- 34:36Speaker 1: They should have let me know that this was going
- 34:38Speaker 1: to be a slower start so I didn't go out
- 34:40Speaker 1: there and hang some onions, which it did. Gus Bradley,
- 34:44Speaker 1: his defense is just like not coming along yet. I
- 34:46Speaker 1: know that not having Shack Barrett is a huge deal.
- 34:49Speaker 1: But they have the chiefs coming up on Sunday. That's
- 34:52Speaker 1: not going to work. Shack Leonard needs to get back.
- 34:54Speaker 1: So they got the chiefs in week three. So I
- 34:58Speaker 1: don't know what that's gonna do. Speaking of the schedule,
- 35:01Speaker 1: Gods Connie, they they set things up for reason that
- 35:05Speaker 1: there's a reason. They gave them the Texans in week one.
- 35:09Speaker 1: That that was because, you know, take care of business.
- 35:10Speaker 1: We're gonna GIVE YOU A W you're gonna have a
- 35:12Speaker 1: tougher week two game and then you're gonna lose in
- 35:15Speaker 1: week that's the schedule makers. But when you start blowing
- 35:18Speaker 1: games that you should win, that's the recipe for Oh
- 35:20Speaker 1: and three in disaster. So the Colts, they're at twenty six,
- 35:23Speaker 1: Um and then, yeah, it's here. We have the schedule.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Gave you the Texans and Jaguars in the first two weeks.
- 35:30Speaker 1: If you can't come out of there with a win, yeah,
- 35:33Speaker 1: it's gonna get real ugly. and Oh and to start
- 35:36Speaker 1: is awful for them. So you got the cowboys at
- 35:39Speaker 1: twenty one, up six spots, the browns at two, the
- 35:41Speaker 1: steelers at twenty three, then the jets up seven spots
- 35:48Speaker 1: to twenty five. Ahead of those colts who fell eleven
- 35:51Speaker 1: spots the bloviator and Washington at seven. The bloviator is
- 35:56Speaker 1: not going to catch on. bloviators, not a thing. I
- 36:00Speaker 1: think it's fitting. Thirty two, Jags at twenty nine, Falcons,
- 36:07Speaker 1: thirty bears, thirty one, panthers, thirty two Texans. Yeah, I
- 36:11Speaker 1: don't like the text. I don't like what I'm seeing
- 36:13Speaker 1: in Houston, especially on offense. Just doesn't see it with
- 36:17Speaker 1: a team with a ton of talent. Davis Mills hasn't played.
- 36:19Speaker 1: You have more confidence in the panthers a little bit.
- 36:23Speaker 1: How it's I mean, when you're talking at thirty one,
- 36:26Speaker 1: thirty two, you're splitting hairs. But if this is where
- 36:29Speaker 1: I would like to debate, if the panthers played the Texans,
- 36:32Speaker 1: you know, I think the panthers probably, with Christian McCaffrey,
- 36:36Speaker 1: find a way. But now we're just now we're going
- 36:40Speaker 1: to talk about the best of the rest, Dan, and
- 36:42Speaker 1: that means we're gonna put thirty seconds on the clock.
- 36:45Speaker 1: I have questions for you. We're gonna run through. So
- 36:47Speaker 1: that's good. Let's bring let's wrap this. I don't want
- 36:49Speaker 1: to look like, you know, an idiot or anything anywhere
- 36:53Speaker 1: out there this week. So I need to get this
- 36:56Speaker 1: information from you right here, right now. which team could
- 36:59Speaker 1: see a big jump in the rankings in the coming weeks?
- 37:02Speaker 1: About I need to be plugged in on this. Doubt
- 37:04Speaker 1: the J E T s and my homer maybe, but
- 37:08Speaker 1: the jets were thirty two last week. The jets have
- 37:12Speaker 1: a miracle, went over the browns and I understand they
- 37:15Speaker 1: shouldn't won that game. The browns had to do six
- 37:17Speaker 1: things wrong in a row to lose that game, but
- 37:20Speaker 1: they did. So they move up five spots, um seven spots,
- 37:23Speaker 1: and they get the Bengals who, not for nothing, have
- 37:26Speaker 1: not looked good, but are also the defending a C champions.
- 37:29Speaker 1: You beat the Bengals, the jets all of a sudden
- 37:31Speaker 1: are gonna slot in the teens in this exercise and
- 37:35Speaker 1: they have not been there since I've been doing right.
- 37:37Speaker 1: You're done. You're done. Time's up. Got It. Let's go
- 37:39Speaker 1: to the Vikings. Will they be in the top ten
- 37:41Speaker 1: when they hit their bye week, which is week seven?
- 37:44Speaker 1: All right, who they got? They got lions, saints, Bears, Dolphins. Yes,
- 37:49Speaker 1: I think, uh yeah, I think they will be, because
- 37:53Speaker 1: I I was feeling great about him after week one.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Weeks who went sideways, and the Kirk Cousins Primetime thing
- 37:59Speaker 1: is not a media narrative. He struggles in that situation.
- 38:03Speaker 1: But I think they're going to win games. I think
- 38:05Speaker 1: they're gonna get out of that four game stretch with
- 38:07Speaker 1: two or three wins, and they get three, they'll be
- 38:10Speaker 1: in right around the space they are now. Listen, they
- 38:12Speaker 1: don't have to play the eagles every week, so no
- 38:14Speaker 1: big deal, everybody. How about this one? Is Super Bowl
- 38:18Speaker 1: fifty six clouding your judgment of the Bengals? Yes, it is,
- 38:25Speaker 1: because teams with they passed track record, especially early in
- 38:29Speaker 1: the season. That does stick with me and it makes
- 38:32Speaker 1: me think, okay, they need to figure some things out,
- 38:34Speaker 1: and they certainly do. The offensive line is a major,
- 38:36Speaker 1: major issue for this team. Joe Burrow keeps getting hit
- 38:40Speaker 1: and in general, like people. One thing people forget this
- 38:43Speaker 1: offense was struggling before the playoffs started last year and
- 38:47Speaker 1: it was the defense and kicking game that got him
- 38:49Speaker 1: to the Super Bowl. Pressure is on the head coach.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Started on a twelve. Get beat by the jets and
- 38:58Speaker 1: you might be twenty, okay, more impressive. In Week two,
- 39:01Speaker 1: the giants or the cowboys feel like. I know this and, sir,
- 39:04Speaker 1: I feel like you hate the giants. I don't hate
- 39:07Speaker 1: the giants, I know I'm a New York Guy, you
- 39:09Speaker 1: know it makes me think of home, and so I'm
- 39:12Speaker 1: fine with the giants. I also don't buy the giants
- 39:14Speaker 1: at two and Oh. Um. Last year was the panthers,
- 39:17Speaker 1: you'll call recall. It started three and Oh and all
- 39:20Speaker 1: the panthers fans are like, how can they not be
- 39:22Speaker 1: a top ten team? Marching? Yeah, they were marching. That's
- 39:25Speaker 1: how I feel about the giants. Even if they win
- 39:27Speaker 1: this game, they're going to struggle to crack the top fifteen.
- 39:30Speaker 1: For me, I'm not buying Nice win by the cowboys, really,
- 39:33Speaker 1: like I saw from the quarterback there and a Phill
- 39:37Speaker 1: in duty. Okay, how about this one? which team could
- 39:38Speaker 1: see super rush drop? It is everybody remember remember his name.
- 39:43Speaker 1: He is that guy. which team coul see a big
- 39:45Speaker 1: drop in the rankings coming up? Broncos. That's an easy one.
- 39:49Speaker 1: That was a ugly, ugly game in a lot of ways. Um,
- 39:54Speaker 1: but they got the win because they were against the Texans.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I think they lose to twenty nine other teams Um
- 39:59Speaker 1: on Sunday and if they continue to play sloppy, uninspired
- 40:04Speaker 1: football and get beat up by the forty nine is
- 40:06Speaker 1: easily within the realm of possibility. You could see them
- 40:10Speaker 1: take a eight to ten spot dip here. Well, I
- 40:13Speaker 1: love that you just brought up the Broncos, because, Dan,
- 40:16Speaker 1: I have a little surprise for you here. Um, you've
- 40:19Speaker 1: been so busy just ranking all sorts of stuff. You've
- 40:23Speaker 1: been in ghost mode. It's like your power rankings vortex
- 40:26Speaker 1: that you go into. Now am the power rankings, as
- 40:28Speaker 1: we established at the top, your personality. Now it's who
- 40:31Speaker 1: it's you. Yeah, Dan is gone. The children have no father.
- 40:35Speaker 1: They have as it. Well, I am plugging into the
- 40:41Speaker 1: power and wait, what is this? I am going to
- 40:44Speaker 1: rank myself. This is like a ring running and professional wrestling.
- 40:50Speaker 1: That's right, all right, you know here to take over
- 40:53Speaker 1: and I'm going to rank some things here this week.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I trust you here. I think you're a woman with
- 40:58Speaker 1: good takes in general. Well, we'll see. God be debatable
- 41:02Speaker 1: on this one. These are my petty power rankings for
- 41:05Speaker 1: the week. I love all things petty. Can we clear
- 41:08Speaker 1: some Tom Petty Music for this segment going forward? I
- 41:11Speaker 1: doubt it. We don't have a budget. So Um, but
- 41:14Speaker 1: maybe we'll see our zero point zero zero budget will
- 41:18Speaker 1: not clear. Zero Point Zero Zero. You are just leading
- 41:22Speaker 1: me right to my point here. You brought up the Broncos.
- 41:25Speaker 1: You're brought up zero, zero zero. My favorite, one of
- 41:28Speaker 1: my favorite moments of the week, that's the broncos fans
- 41:32Speaker 1: counting down lay clock just to help out their offense
- 41:38Speaker 1: because the clock management has been so abysmal. This is
- 41:42Speaker 1: like Andy Reid in Philadelphia, type bad. That was what
- 41:46Speaker 1: he was known for, that was the thing that everybody
- 41:49Speaker 1: ripped him apart for. And now Nathaniel Hackett, first time
- 41:53Speaker 1: head coach, and you have Russell Wilson and you. You
- 41:55Speaker 1: should not be running into these issues. They were at
- 41:58Speaker 1: home and I believe they had to delay of game
- 42:02Speaker 1: penalty's and three called had a called time out with
- 42:06Speaker 1: some Um this organization. It's bad and at least, and
- 42:11Speaker 1: you Reid was a young, great head coach on the rise. Hackett,
- 42:15Speaker 1: so far as looked, in a little in over his head.
- 42:17Speaker 1: I hope for his sake, because I keep being told
- 42:19Speaker 1: he's a really good guy. Um, but he is so nice.
- 42:24Speaker 1: It's been tough and they're in prime time this week.
- 42:27Speaker 1: So the spotlight is going to be Broncos niners. That's
- 42:30Speaker 1: gonna be a good one. Okay, I my next one
- 42:33Speaker 1: is at number two and I really hope that these
- 42:39Speaker 1: fans come from some type of money, because they were
- 42:42Speaker 1: absolutely burning it. I know that's what people do in
- 42:45Speaker 1: Vegas going on in this, but the raiders fans, when
- 42:50Speaker 1: they were up three to seven, just popping bottles of Champagne,
- 42:54Speaker 1: sprang it all over the place, and producer drew did
- 42:58Speaker 1: a little research on this. Those bottles cost, we inc
- 43:05Speaker 1: three thousand dollars a pop. So they are just burning that.
- 43:10Speaker 1: And for the podcast science, it's the people like seated
- 43:12Speaker 1: behind the netting, behind the goal post, just spraying it onto,
- 43:17Speaker 1: I guess, the tunnel below, or maybe the fans below,
- 43:20Speaker 1: maybe the field below. It's probably the photographers and me.
- 43:24Speaker 1: That's that's a that's a really Um, proud and loyal
- 43:28Speaker 1: fan base. Well, there's that idiot that took a swung
- 43:30Speaker 1: at Kyler Murray, but otherwise great fans around the raiders
- 43:34Speaker 1: that have followed that team all around the west coast
- 43:36Speaker 1: and into the desert. Now I don't think those are
- 43:40Speaker 1: actually raiders fans. I think those are plants. Really I
- 43:43Speaker 1: think that has something to do with paid standing of Vegas,
- 43:46Speaker 1: and because how would you even get that into the building?
- 43:49Speaker 1: Because there's a menu, you can buy it and it
- 43:52Speaker 1: looks like it's the ace of spades Rose Magnum. So
- 43:55Speaker 1: that sells for three thousand of Pop. That's that's a disgrace.
- 43:59Speaker 1: I don't get me started on this. Maybe their calm. Two, knows? Okay,
- 44:02Speaker 1: last one, number one in the petty rank. So much
- 44:05Speaker 1: roof fixed, the favorite thing. Listen, common man, rankings a're
- 44:08Speaker 1: going up in those. He's got a roof to fix. Everybody.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Number One. Let's go to Philadelphia, where the Eagles fans
- 44:19Speaker 1: did this. So you're just hearing clapping right now. It's
- 44:28Speaker 1: it's truly but, um, the thing that was great about
- 44:33Speaker 1: this is, I don't know, maybe we could take that out.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I thought it would be better the fans when, when
- 44:42Speaker 1: the camera panned to the stands, everyone was doing the
- 44:47Speaker 1: skull chant. But my favorite part about that is they
- 44:50Speaker 1: were actually doing a folds chant because the NFC championship game,
- 44:54Speaker 1: that's what they did and Philly fans are always going
- 44:57Speaker 1: to Philly when given the opportunity. So a little foals
- 45:00Speaker 1: chant to send off the Vikings on a disaster this
- 45:04Speaker 1: Monday night. For them was what warmed my heart. So yeah,
- 45:09Speaker 1: and you guys are like booing Jalen Reagor because your
- 45:13Speaker 1: general manager made a bad draft pick. I didn't quite
- 45:16Speaker 1: follow that, but you guys have your own thing going on.
- 45:18Speaker 1: It's fine, like, I don't know, I'm actually with you
- 45:21Speaker 1: on the reagor stuff. I kind of feel bad for him.
- 45:23Speaker 1: It's not his fault that Howie Roseman thought that he
- 45:25Speaker 1: should be a first round pick. Like everybody kind of
- 45:28Speaker 1: like give him a break, but it was peak philly
- 45:30Speaker 1: that they viewed Jalen Reagor on a punt return. Philly
- 45:33Speaker 1: fans are they're like the the cool kid in the
- 45:36Speaker 1: back of the class. He's kind of a dirt bag, canceled,
- 45:41Speaker 1: but but you know, it's kind of cool because he
- 45:46Speaker 1: speaks his mind or she speaks her mind, but at
- 45:49Speaker 1: the same time it's like what's up his life? Probably
- 45:51Speaker 1: you know, it's tough too because like all the baggage,
- 45:55Speaker 1: because of that super bowl ring that they carry around
- 45:57Speaker 1: in the back of I'm happy for you, Colle and
- 45:59Speaker 1: I'm happy if your husband, Gonzo and Eagles fans just
- 46:02Speaker 1: be nice and by the way, you could close the
- 46:04Speaker 1: Oh with learning to fly by Tom Petty, and that
- 46:08Speaker 1: would tie in nicely with the Eagle that. Let's see
- 46:11Speaker 1: if we can clear that the budget. Zero, point zero.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I know you're right on top of that. Thanks everybody
- 46:16Speaker 1: for listening. We'll be back next week for Dan's week four,
- 46:20Speaker 1: week three powers of the kid in the eighties, Sitcom
- 46:23Speaker 1: head of the class that sat in the back with
- 46:24Speaker 1: his feed up. That's not us. I think that's you,
- 46:27Speaker 1: Dan by he's too cool. NFL power rankings as a
