  Speaker 1: it caught the tension of the Sadducees and everyone going on.

  Speaker 1: They know that they just crucified Jesus, so they thought

  Speaker 1: that this was the end of it. But they just

  Speaker 1: don't know they just lit a fire. So they are upset.

  Speaker 1: No that the Sadducees denied the resurrection. So Peter's sermon

  Speaker 1: in Acts three directly challenged their theology. Now they're wearn't

  Speaker 1: just annoyed at the crowd. They were threatened. At this point.

  Speaker 1: Whenever you preach resurrection power, dead religion gets nervous. Let

  Speaker 1: to verse two. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles

  Speaker 1: were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of

  Speaker 1: Religious leaders, they were disturbed not because of the healing,

  Speaker 1: but they were disturbed because of the resurrection power. You see,

  Speaker 1: the world can tolerate kindness and charity, even miracles, but

  Speaker 1: when you preach Jesus resurrected, that's when conflict starts. That's

  Speaker 1: when the gloves come off. Every time we can we

  Speaker 1: know this as Christians. When we say the name of Jesus,

  Speaker 1: especially in a public area, it just shifts the atmosphere.

  Speaker 1: Things change, you can see, like people just start to manifest. Right,

  Speaker 1: So they seize Peter and John, and because it was evening,

  Speaker 1: they put them in jail until the next day. Now,
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: this is the first record of arrest of Christians, of
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: our brothers and sisters, the first record of it. Yet
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: there's no fear, only faith. If you didn't know, the

  Speaker 1: church grows under persecution. Persecution will not be a bad
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: thing necessarily for the church, because that's when we chop
• 7:55
  Speaker 1: off the fat. That's where we can lean. The church
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: gets in shape, and the church grows. God doesn't always
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: stop the storm. Sometimes he strengthens you to stand in
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: the midst of the storm. Amen. Verse four. But many
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: who heard the message believed. So the number of men
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: who believe grew to about five thousand. Now remember on
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: the dead Pentecost, it was three thousand people. And so
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: the church is just growing and growing. Now we're at
• 8:48
  Speaker 1: five thousand people. I would say that is a successful ministry.
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: Persecution just could not stop it. It couldn't stay the gospel. Instead,

  Speaker 1: it multiplied it. They're arrested in jail, and now they
• 9:06
  Speaker 1: added more people to the church. Amen. The word of
• 9:12
  Speaker 1: God is unstoppable. Let me say this again, the word
• 9:19
  Speaker 1: of God is unstoppable. They may want to watch you,
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: they may want to put tabs on you, they may
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: want to do a lot of things, and they think
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: that they could stop us, but they cannot stop the
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: word of God. Even when they were locked up, the
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: message still roam's free. Amen. I love it. Five and six.

  Speaker 1: And next day the rulers, the elders, and the teachers

  Speaker 1: of the law met in Jerusalem, and it's the High

  Speaker 1: had changed. The same forces that intimidated them before can't

  Speaker 1: the power of the Holy Spirit. It transforms fear into fire. Amen.

  Speaker 1: The boldness won't from personality, it comes from the presence

  Speaker 1: of God, because it says in verse eight. Then Peter,

  Speaker 1: filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them. He started

  Speaker 1: to speak to them, rulers, elders and the people, if

  Speaker 1: you are being if we are being called to account

  Speaker 1: today for an act of kindness shown to a man

  Speaker 1: who was lame, and are being asked how he was healed.

  Speaker 1: So he begins to address them, right, and they want

  Speaker 1: to know how this man was healed by the act

  Speaker 1: of kindness, To know this, you and all the people

  Speaker 1: of Israel. It is by the name of Jesus Christ

  Speaker 1: of Nazareth. Hallelujah, the name of all aims, the name

  Speaker 1: healing and restoration at all. Then he lifts Jesus high.

  Speaker 1: Peter doesn't back down at all. He doesn't water down

  Speaker 1: the message, He does not tone it down to spoken

  Speaker 1: in love, still must be truth. Let me say that again,

  Speaker 1: truth spoken in love, it still must be the truth.

  Speaker 1: And then Peter goes and he quotes Psalms when eighteen,

  Speaker 1: a prophetic warning that they should Understandjesus isn't a building

  Speaker 1: block in our life. He is the cornerstone. Everything stands

  Speaker 1: and falls based on him. He is the foundation, basically. Now,

  Speaker 1: one of the strongest statements in scripture on the exclusivity

  Speaker 1: of Christ. Nor is there salvation in any other For
• 16:35
  Speaker 1: there is no other name under Heaven given amongst men
• 16:40
  Speaker 1: by which we must be saved. Now, this is one

  Speaker 1: of the verses that get a lot of Christians in trouble,

  Speaker 1: but we got to stand on it. The other one

  Speaker 1: is that Jesus is the Way, the truth, and the life.

  Speaker 1: No one comes unto the Father except through him. They

  Speaker 1: think that we are close minded and narrow, that we
• 17:08
  Speaker 1: don't accept their religion, their doctrine, their way of life.

  Speaker 1: This is why belove it. Salvation is not found in
• 17:18
  Speaker 1: good works. There's no such thing as a good person
• 17:21
  Speaker 1: in heaven, for we have all fallen short of the
• 17:25
  Speaker 1: glory of God. We are all sinners. It is not

  Speaker 1: found in religion. So keeping you rituals and sacraments and

  Speaker 1: rules and regulations will not make you right before God,

  Speaker 1: nor by moral efforts or positive energy will not save
• 17:48
  Speaker 1: your soul or even self improvement. Even if you do
• 17:53
  Speaker 1: change your life and improve yourself. You can do that.

  Speaker 1: If you have enough willpower and discipline, you can accomplish
• 18:01
  Speaker 1: a lot of things. But salvation is spiritual. There is
• 18:10
  Speaker 1: one name, Jesus. Salvation is a relationship with the resurrected Christ.

  Speaker 1: That's why Jesus says to a lot of those who
• 18:25
  Speaker 1: have done great works, I never knew you. Do you
• 18:30
  Speaker 1: know Jesus? Do you spend time talking to him? Do
• 18:35
  Speaker 1: you know? And can you feel his presence? Have you
• 18:40
  Speaker 1: invited him in to your heart and knows that he
• 18:46
  Speaker 1: lives inside of you. That's the only way you can
• 18:54

  Speaker 1: with something and getting the victory over it eventually or

  Speaker 1: just staying in the same cycle and excusing it. Now

  Speaker 1: you're not even fighting against sin, you're just giving into it,
• 23:14
  Speaker 1: and you just want to be accepted that, Hey, this
• 23:17
  Speaker 1: is my lifestyle, this is what I do, this is
• 23:20
  Speaker 1: a part of whatever. Those Christians are not going to
• 23:24
  Speaker 1: make it. According to the Word, right, you always got
• 23:28
  Speaker 1: to be confronting ourselves. We always got to be repenting
• 23:31
  Speaker 1: and being challenged. You need to be around people that
• 23:35
  Speaker 1: will challenge you to get better in your walk with God.

  Speaker 1: You need someone to get in your face and say, look,
• 23:42
  Speaker 1: this is what the scripture says, repent, turn ye, turn ye.

  Speaker 1: Why would you perish? Amen? And back it up with
• 23:51
  Speaker 1: the word of God. Just as our apostles are showing,
• 23:56
  Speaker 1: just as we are reading in the Book of Acts,
• 23:59
  Speaker 1: they are speaking truth if speaking love. But youth can
• 24:04
  Speaker 1: never be compromised. Amen, Truth can never be compromised. And
• 24:15
  Speaker 1: so that's one of the reasons why we added this,

  Speaker 1: we got to ask and pray for the courage to

  Speaker 1: do so. And add this to your prayer list. Ask
