- 7:34for the addition of slosh baffles designed to stabilize

- 9:54are under way with Booster 12 and Ship 30, with the former
- 9:57being equipped with engines and the latter being prepped for
- 10:00eventual assembly and testing. Now, Flight 6 updates include
- 10:04the completion of Booster 13 stacking and the ongoing heat
- 10:08shield work on Ship 31, highlighting the continuous
- 10:11progress in Spacex's Starship program.
- 10:14The progress towards Flight 3's launch readiness, marked by the
- 10:17full stack at the pad, and the planned wet dress rehearsal,

- 43:08Facility in Boca Chica, Texas, but the proposal for the new
- 43:12launch site at Cape Canaveral involves taking over SLC 37

- 44:19unsuccessfully shortly after takeoff, with no confirmation
- 44:22date yet for the third attempt. Now also let's step back a
- 44:26little bit to the FTS, it's a critical component installed on
- 44:29both the booster and the spacecraft.
- 44:31Now during IFT One they use the FTS, the flight Termination
- 44:36System to blow up the booster and also the ship and this is
- 44:41due to the stages not separating and power loss on the engine and
- 44:45then it led to the destruction of the rocket.
- 44:48Now the second test flight saw improvements though was
- 44:51successful. Detonation of the first stages
- 44:53FTS after separation it was during the kickback burn at the
- 44:562nd stages. FTS also function as intended
- 44:59during its coast phase, although SpaceX has been reserved about
- 45:03the details of that part of the test.

- 49:17reaching orbit. The FA as commercial Space

- 49:36Now the Space Force and the Air Force alongside other federal
- 49:39agencies is conducting an environmental impact statement
- 49:42EIS for potential Starship launches from Florida.
- 49:45Like we discussed before now, this is a very stringent level
- 49:49environmental review. There's high stakes here, and we
- 49:52know that if SpaceX passes the environmental review, we're
- 49:56going to see a few launch towers happen as soon as possible from
- 50:01this launch site because the Department of Defense is
- 50:03involved. A SpaceX has conducted 2 notable
- 50:06launches from Starship facility in 2023 at Starbase, with both
- 50:10missions ending in explosions shortly after take off.
- 50:12The potential for Starship to support NASA's missions and the
- 50:15Department of Defense's interest in its capabilities shows that
- 50:19Starship is very important. It's a strategic rocket.
- 50:23It's not just a rocket that will get people to the moon and Mars.
- 50:26It'll be a rocket that sends cargo to orbit for the
- 50:30Department of Defense, numerous armed forces as well, and the
- 50:35ongoing EIS process is exploring various options for
- 50:39accommodating Starship launches from Florida going forward.
- 50:43Hopefully that can be done within the next six months, but
- 50:45we're expecting it to be 8 months to 12 months before this
- 50:49all happens. And the EIS is just another set
- 50:52of red tape that SpaceX has to go through in order to launch
- 50:55from the Space Coast. It's not the primary mission, so
- 50:58this is a secondary mission that SpaceX would do.
- 51:00Now, public meetings are scheduled to discuss the
- 51:02environmental impact of potential new Starship launch
- 51:05sites, and this is great for community engagement and
- 51:09transparency for Starship, SpaceX and the Department of
- 51:13Defense and the state of Florida.
- 51:16Now Starship, with its giant capabilities, is poised to
- 51:21revolutionize space travel, with plans to replace the Falcon
- 51:24rocket family eventually and support missions like Mars
- 51:29colonization for Starlink and more satellite operations.
- 51:33Its payload capacity makes it a key asset for both commercial
- 51:36space activities and defense applications and the drive to
- 51:40overcome regulatory and environmental hurdles.
- 51:43It's a huge challenge for SpaceX.
- 51:45They've had to do it at Starbase a few Times Now, and they've
- 51:48always come up the winner. Stakeholders, including military
- 51:51officials, emphasize the need for national support and
- 51:54investment to realize the potential of transformative
- 51:57space technologies Like Starship On the Space Coast of Florida,
- 52:02the Moon has welcomed a new visitor from the United States,
- 52:05marking the country's first lunar landing in over 50 years.
- 52:09The Lander named Odysseus was confirmed to be operational and
- 52:12communicating with Earth, though it's precise location and
- 52:15condition were still under assessment.
- 52:18Now Houston based Intuitive Machines, the creator of
- 52:21Odysseus has been actively exchanging commands with the
- 52:24spacecraft to gather scientific data and the company
- 52:26acknowledged ongoing efforts to ascertain the Landers exact
- 52:30whereabouts, health and orientation on the lunar
- 52:33surface. Intuitive machines aim for a
- 52:36landing near the lunar South Pole, specifically close to the
- 52:40Mellapert, a crater, to aid NASA in exploring the region in
- 52:45preparation for future astronaut missions.
- 52:47This strategic location is of great interest due to its
- 52:50proximity to potential resources, and this achievement
- 52:53not only marks Intuitive Machines as the first private
- 52:56entity to successfully land on the Moon, but also adds them to
- 52:59the exclusive list of entities, including only five countries,
- 53:04that have accomplished its feat. The mission is primarily
- 53:06supported by NASA, with a space agency having invested $118
- 53:11million in the project. Now.
- 53:13A notable aspect of the mission was the use of a NASA experiment
- 53:17to guide the Lander during its final approach due to a failure
- 53:20in its navigation system. This adjustment allowed Odysseus
- 53:24to safely complete his journey to the moon's surface.
- 53:28Now the mission faced challenges though, such as the inability to
- 53:32deploy a camera system intended to capture the landing due to
- 53:35the navigational adjustments. However, efforts are underway to
- 53:38release this camera in the hopes of obtaining images of Odysseus
- 53:42on the Moon now. The uncertainty surrounding the
- 53:45lander's precise landing spot adds a layer of complexity to
- 53:48the mission, emphasizing the importance of securing the
- 53:51images to verify its location and condition.
- 53:54And the operational lifespan of the Odysseus Lander is expected
- 53:57to be brief limit to about a week due to the impending lunar
- 54:01night, which poses significant challenges for solar powered
- 54:04missions. Now this mission follows a
- 54:06failed attempt by another company, Astrobotic
- 54:08Technologies, which highlights the apparent risks and the
- 54:12difficulties of lunar exploration.
- 54:14The landing by intuitive machines though represents a
- 54:17significant achievement in commercial space exploration.
- 54:21Now this is a historically significant mission as it
- 54:24reestablishes the United States presence on the lunar surface
- 54:28after the last human Apollo mission in 1972, setting the
- 54:33stage for NASA's plant Artemis missions coming up Artemis 2
- 54:37where they will circle around the Moon and come back to the
- 54:39Earth, and Artemis 3 when they will land on the lunar surface.
- 54:43Now, the choice of naming the Lander Odysseus.
- 54:45It was a parallel with the epic journeys and challenges faced by
- 54:48the mythological figure symbolizing the ambitious
- 54:50natures of this lunar mission. Now, the reliance on NASA's
- 54:54Navigation Doppler Lidar instrument, not originally
- 54:57intended as a primary navigation tool, shows the adaptability and
- 55:01resourcefulness required in space mission.
- 55:03Sometimes they have to go off script and do wild things in
- 55:07order to make the mission successful, and the confirmation
- 55:10of a successful landing and the subsequent transmission of data
- 55:13from Odysseus to Earth marked a pivotal moment for Intuitive
- 55:17machines showcasing the capabilities of commercial space
- 55:20ventures. And despite initial
- 55:21communication challenges, the team remains focused on
- 55:24downloading scientific data and images from the Lander, with
- 55:27further updates anticipated in the next few days.
- 55:32Now this is a huge milestone for both Intuitive machines, NASA
- 55:35and the United States as it demonstrates the viability of
- 55:39commercial partnerships in advancing lunar exploration and
- 55:43prepares the groundwork for future human rated Landers on
- 55:48the lunar surface of the term dynamic situation aptly
- 55:52describes the last minute adjustments and challenges faced
- 55:56during the landing. This is an unpredictable way to
- 56:00land a lunar Lander, but this is also unpredictable nature of
- 56:05space exploration. The context of this mission
- 56:08includes the ongoing international interest in the
- 56:10Moon, several companies having conducted lunar missions in the
- 56:13recent years. This renewed focus shows that
- 56:16the Moon is more strategic and important than ever.
- 56:23Tex plans to have two orbital towers down at Starbase in Texas
- 56:29for the launches of their Starship vehicle.
- 56:32Super heavy vehicle, about 400 feet tall.
- 56:34The most powerful rocket in existence right now, now.
- 56:37Right now, SpaceX can launch starships about five times per
- 56:42year, but they don't really want to do that.
- 56:45They want to have a lot more launches than five per year
- 56:48because they need to test the rocket for the upcoming Artemis
- 56:51missions and also for Starling missions in the future, and also
- 56:54some other cargo missions to the Moon and beyond.
- 56:57So what do they do? Let's take a look real quick at
- 57:00this. This is for Mars Technica.
- 57:03This is Eric Berger. Eric is awesome.
- 57:05SpaceX seeks A waiver to launch Starship at least nine times
- 57:08this year. Last year they did.
- 57:11We're at 2 right now, two Starship launches all together.
- 57:14So if they could squeak out nine launches, it's been it's months
- 57:19between every single launch. Between IFT 1, IFT 2, and now
- 57:24IFT 3. It's been a few months.
- 57:25But if they could do three, you know, three within this time
- 57:30frame, like right now, IFT 1, IFT 2 and if IFT 3 could be in
- 57:35March of this year, they'd have April, May, June, July, August,
- 57:40September, October, November, December.
- 57:42So they'd have that many months. Could they get that many
- 57:45launches in that many months? One launch per month?
- 57:51About, I don't know. That's a that's a pretty risky
- 57:56bet to take 9 launches in about as many months.
- 58:01Could they do a turn around of one launch per month?
- 58:03Could they build enough boosters fast enough?
- 58:05Could they have enough Raptor engines for one launch per
- 58:07month? Do they have enough ships for
- 58:09one launch per month? At this point they don't have as
- 58:13many built as there are months left in the year, so there's a
- 58:18possibility that they can get this done.
- 58:20They're gonna have to ramp up production, ramp up launches,
- 58:24but I believe they could do this.
- 58:26So let's get in a little bit of the minutiae here.
- 58:28SpaceX nears its first Starship launch, 2024, possibly as soon
- 58:32as within three weeks. So sometime in March, they know
- 58:35that they're going to be doing this launch from Starbase.
- 58:37During a press availability this week, the administration of
- 58:40commercial space transportation at the FAA, Kevin Coleman said
- 58:43the agency is working with the company to try to facilitate the
- 58:45Starship launch licensing process.
- 58:48This is huge, if this actually happens, so looking at a pretty
- 58:51aggressive launch schedule this year, he said.
- 58:53They're looking at, I believe, at least nine launches this
- 58:56year. That's a lot of launches.
- 58:58If you're doing modifications and doing them one by one,
- 59:01that's a lot of work. Could SpaceX be hiring a bunch
- 59:03more people too? We're going to see in the near
- 59:06future if they're going to be hiring more people.
- 59:07We know there's going to be another orbital pad there too.
- 59:10So they're going to be launching these things and also building a
- 59:13pad, possibly. Let's take a look at that in a
- 59:15little bit too. We've been talking to SpaceX
- 59:17constantly around the clock coming together and trying to
- 59:19figure out how we do this. We're invested with the company,
- 59:23so we'll work with them to get them back going as soon as
- 59:26possible. So basically saying we're going
- 59:28to get them flying again so they can continue building and fly
- 59:32more rockets in the future. SpaceX decided to launch and
- 59:35attempt to land a Starship vehicle in Texas about five
- 59:37years ago. The company had to undergo an
- 59:39environmental review of the site.
- 59:41So I want to ask you this question too, and I want to know
- 59:43what you think down in the comments.
- 59:46So SpaceX is going to launch IFT 3 soon, and it's going to be
- 59:50sometime in March probably, according to Elon Musk.
- 59:53And if the FAA is working with them, and it seems like they
- 59:57are, could they possibly launch a rocket in March and then
- 1:00:01another one in April? Are they really, Are they that
- 1:00:03close? I don't think they're going to
- 1:00:05be able to do a turn around that quick.
- 1:00:07So in my opinion, it's going to be late April, more than likely
- 1:00:12May that they get another rocket off if this one goes as perfect
- 1:00:17as it should go, IFT 2 or IFT 3. If it goes better than IFT 2,
- 1:00:22then it seems like they'll have all the systems in place to get
- 1:00:25an IFT 4, IFT 5, etcetera. Faster than what they've done
- 1:00:29before. So all the regulatory hurdles
- 1:00:33that are in place right now could kind of be relaxed a
- 1:00:37little bit. And then the FAA would work with
- 1:00:40SpaceX to get 9 launches for this year, which would be
- 1:00:44incredible. So that's my question.
- 1:00:46Do you think they could pull it off nine months with 9 launches?
- 1:00:49They have about nine months left to get 9 launches in.
- 1:00:52So we'll see. We'll see.
- 1:00:53But I don't think they're going to be able to do 9 launches.
- 1:00:56I think that's a very optimistic goal for SpaceX.
- 1:00:59And I'm not trying to be pessimistic here.
- 1:01:01I'm just saying these things are gigantic.
- 1:01:03They're hard. Things happen all the time.
- 1:01:06Like the booster right now was moved back to the high Bay so it
- 1:01:09could get some work done on it before the IFT 3 launch.
- 1:01:12And the the ship is on the suborbital pad right now, just
- 1:01:16hanging out. So maybe there's going to be
- 1:01:18some work done on the on the booster and on the ship in the
- 1:01:22near future. So if that needs to happen, the
- 1:01:25timelines can slip pretty quickly.
- 1:01:28Now that being said, Suborbital pad B could be becoming Orbital
- 1:01:35pad B SpaceX has always wanted 2, count them, 2222 launch
- 1:01:41towers at Starbase, Texas. That was their vision from the
- 1:01:45beginning. Two launch towers so they could
- 1:01:47do everything and they need to do from Starbase.
- 1:01:49Don't have to worry about Kennedy Space Center for a
- 1:01:51while. They can do everything from
- 1:01:53Starbase until they start launching humans on these
- 1:01:55things, or start launching these things from NASA property at
- 1:01:59Kennedy Space Center, possibly for the first Artemis mission.
- 1:02:03It seems like a good PR stunt to get them launched from NASA, but
- 1:02:07if they need to, they can do these launches from Texas
- 1:02:10because it's already built out. No reason to go to Kennedy Space
- 1:02:13Center and waste resources there before the launches.
- 1:02:17Just keep building up Texas and keep getting it to a better
- 1:02:20place. So this is suborbital Pad B is
- 1:02:24now going to be orbital pad B, and that's according to vixy
- 1:02:28Vicky Cox, 15 on Twitter or X if you will.
- 1:02:32And SpaceX reiterated the permit application on 12 February 2024
- 1:02:36with modified project plans requesting to fill a .16 acre
- 1:02:40wetland to construct a second orbital launchpad which will
- 1:02:43replace the current suborbital launchpad and test stand.
- 1:02:47So currently it's just a test stand, right?
- 1:02:50It's just it's just right here. That's it.
- 1:02:53There's really not much there. But it could be a orbital
- 1:02:59launchpad, which would be fantastic, because if they're
- 1:03:02going to refuel Starship, they have to send up possibly
- 1:03:07anywhere between 10 and 20 tankers for Starship to refuel
- 1:03:11before it gets to the moon. And Easterners feel that it's a
- 1:03:15complex thing. It's a very complex thing.
- 1:03:18Could SpaceX do it with two pads better than one pad?
- 1:03:212 pads are better than one. So this is the other question
- 1:03:23that I want to ask you. Orbital pad A, orbital pad B at
- 1:03:28Starbase, do you think they're going to catch the booster, or
- 1:03:34do you think they're going to be expendable for the NASA
- 1:03:38missions? Do you think they're going to
- 1:03:39have boosters ready to go? They're going to have 10 to 20
- 1:03:43boosters ready to go and expend them in the Gulf of Mexico?
- 1:03:47Or do you think they're going to get the landings nailed before
- 1:03:50the Artemis program? Because if they don't get the
- 1:03:53landings nailed, you know, what are they going to do?
- 1:03:56Will they have 15 boosters just ready to go?
- 1:03:58I don't think that's the case. I think what's going to happen
- 1:04:00is they're going to be able to catch these things before the
- 1:04:04Artemis program, Artemis 3. So which pad?
- 1:04:08This is the question. Which orbital pad do you think
- 1:04:11they're going to catch on 1st? I'm going Orbital Pad B because
- 1:04:18there will be modifications, upgrades to it.
- 1:04:21They need to catch it. So if if they need to catch in
- 1:04:24A1 tower, I think it's going to be Orbital Pad B, because
- 1:04:26orbital pad A, it's going to be the workhorse.
- 1:04:29I think they're going to launch from there.
- 1:04:31That's perfectly fine. They launch from there right
- 1:04:32now. They're going to also launch
- 1:04:34from orbital Pad B, but if they can launch from orbital pad B,
- 1:04:40they can land it Orbital pad B, orbital pad A also they can land
- 1:04:44it orbital pad B. Maybe they can catch them at
- 1:04:46both. I want to know your opinion down
- 1:04:47in the comments below. Let me know what you think where
- 1:04:50they're going to catch the first booster orbital pad A or orbital
- 1:04:53pad B. So we got a couple questions
- 1:04:55here today, but that's that's pretty much it.

- 1:05:06Project plans you know go into deeper here, go a little bit
- 1:05:10deeper and you can zoom in if we need to 150% wetland's subject
- 1:05:15to this request. So we have tank farm, orbital
- 1:05:19pad, etcetera here and then we have down here, we have a little
- 1:05:24zoomed in request additional wetland impact .16 acres, this
- 1:05:28little red, this little red one right here, proposed wetland
- 1:05:32impact. It's not much, it's really not
- 1:05:34much, but will they be able to do this And there's a a ground
- 1:05:40shot of a wetland impact update summary.
- 1:05:43So there's the pad, you can see it there.
- 1:05:45It's right right next to it. It's literally like you can take
- 1:05:49a couple steps across this, take five or six steps and you're
- 1:05:52across this whole thing. The Army Corps of Engineers,
- 1:05:55will they allow this? There might be a little impact,
- 1:05:58an environmental impact study here, but I think they're going
- 1:06:00to be OK with it. It's an industrial zone right
- 1:06:04now. Basically, if you look at it,
- 1:06:05it's an industrial zone in the middle of all sorts of things
- 1:06:08going on. You know, there's a parking lot,
- 1:06:11there's there's a bunch of concrete, there's pipes, there's
- 1:06:15tubes, all sorts of stuff going on here.
- 1:06:17It's wetlands. Of course we have to protect the
- 1:06:18wetlands, but also we have to go forward with progress.
- 1:06:22So what do you think? What do you think about this
- 1:06:24too? I I think Orbital Pad B will be
- 1:06:26the catch tower to begin with. Then they're going to take them
- 1:06:28off Orbital Pad B, refurbish it, take it back to the high Bay.
- 1:06:32And while that's happening, other rockets are going to come
- 1:06:34out and then they're going to launch more over and over and
- 1:06:36over. So that's where we're at right
- 1:06:38now. It's got to be a wild 2024.
- 1:06:40If they get this proposal, if they want it, if they get this
- 1:06:45Orbital Pad B proposal accepted, we might see orbital PED B
- 1:06:52become a thing, start becoming a thing in the next few months
- 1:06:56after IFT three. I think we're going to start
- 1:06:59moving in hardware if this gets approved really quick.
- 1:07:02So we're going to see, but see the other thing is I want to
- 1:07:04show you this public state expiration date, January, March
- 1:07:092020 or 25 of 2024, tenth February, March.
- 1:07:13So next month, about a month actually from today, we're going
- 1:07:17to see the expiration date of this.
- 1:07:19So we'll see. We'll see what happens.
