- 0:09Speaker 1: All right, and welcome to another slim TV Sunday. It
- 0:14Speaker 1: is the first NFL Week one Swim TV Sunday, and
- 0:19Speaker 1: my friends, we have done it here. I won le
- 0:21Speaker 1: a Balx thanks to you, thanks to my fiance Gaby
- 0:25Speaker 1: and so many friends along the way have supported me.
- 0:29Speaker 1: And thanks to my returning guest who was very first
- 0:33Speaker 1: episode of me the eve of Super Bowl Sunday in
- 0:36Speaker 1: twenty fourteen, Sean Hughes, You're back with me fifty thousand
- 0:41Speaker 1: downloads later. I want to reconnect and share this moment
- 0:44Speaker 1: with you, man, and I hope all is well been
- 0:50Speaker 1: since then. But of course, what do we do. We
- 0:52Speaker 1: talk sports, So let's dive right into it. The Giants today.
- 0:57Speaker 1: You know, I didn't know if they'd win or not
- 0:59Speaker 1: because the the Commanders seemed like one of the best
- 1:01Speaker 1: teams in the league. But were you disappointed? How does want?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Were you in today's loss?
- 1:08Speaker 2: It's been a year after the year year the same,
- 1:11Speaker 2: It's been the same old story. It just you know,
- 1:14Speaker 2: when I noticed the day it is great, you know,
- 1:17Speaker 2: when people could I mean, it's shredded to this and
- 1:20Speaker 2: it's true, but have not been the same since calf
- 1:25Speaker 2: One that it's been and I know it's been in
- 1:27Speaker 2: a long time, but.
- 1:29Speaker 3: We need we need someone who knows what the heck
- 1:32Speaker 3: they're doing.
- 1:34Speaker 2: The Giants are not the Giants anymore.
- 1:37Speaker 3: It's gonna be the same old story. You don't think
- 1:40Speaker 3: you go up.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, man, we needed something has to be done,
- 1:46Speaker 2: you know, And I know we're only in week one,
- 1:49Speaker 2: but you.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Know it's gonna be It's sadly gonna be the same old.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Story, you know, and you know it's worse. Is I
- 1:55Speaker 1: could I could handle a struggling Giants with Daniel Jones
- 1:59Speaker 1: because all of a sudden, now he's a starter and
- 2:01Speaker 1: a and a and a you know, almost MVP type
- 2:05Speaker 1: of game for the Colts winning their first opening Day
- 2:07Speaker 1: since twenty thirty. I mean, that's unbelievable. But anyway, uh,
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'm disappointed because I thought with a stacked you know,
- 2:18Speaker 1: QB room with Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, Jackson Dart
- 2:23Speaker 1: and at the time Tommy DeVito. Out of those four guys,
- 2:26Speaker 1: you'd expect something, especially out of the veterans, But Russell
- 2:31Speaker 1: just looked overpowered by the commanders. Is it Washington, you know,
- 2:35Speaker 1: defense or is this an aging Russell Now that we're seeing.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It'll be interesting to watch what having what the Giants
- 2:45Speaker 2: is going on.
- 2:47Speaker 3: If if visit is.
- 2:53Speaker 2: What the the it's going to be.
- 2:56Speaker 1: You know, well yeah, yeah, unfortunately, you know, well, Sean,
- 3:02Speaker 1: I have to say this. I thought going into the year,
- 3:07Speaker 1: Dabele was given the keys and given the tools to
- 3:10Speaker 1: win with who he has. I mean, neighbors always a
- 3:14Speaker 1: bit injured. But he looked fine today, but neighbors dealing
- 3:17Speaker 1: with that injury. So from from training camp, you have, uh,
- 3:23Speaker 1: you got this amazing draft pick in Abdul Carter, You've
- 3:27Speaker 1: got dark, You've given tools to Dabel and I don't
- 3:31Speaker 1: I think this year, if he can't do anything this year,
- 3:33Speaker 1: he might be gone. Come next to September, come next
- 3:36Speaker 1: you know, come February.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I agree.
- 3:39Speaker 3: You know, like I said, thing, I mean, we want
- 3:43Speaker 3: to judge. We've gone through this guy.
- 3:45Speaker 2: We want through GM at the GM you know, and
- 3:50Speaker 2: you know it just hadn't missed the Giants, had not
- 3:53Speaker 2: been the Gyant a year.
- 3:54Speaker 3: And then that's just what we said.
- 3:57Speaker 2: That disappointing, you know, I mean, like they said, there's
- 4:02Speaker 2: don't work, there's don't work for.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Out of the times have been last several years.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And you know Gettleman. The last straw with Gettleman was
- 4:11Speaker 1: that Jones was released. I mean that is how that's
- 4:16Speaker 1: the mark of the Gettleman legacy is how badly then
- 4:20Speaker 1: you seem to have messed up to Daniel Jones. I
- 4:22Speaker 1: know he was good for one year, but that was it.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Yeah, and you and I think so, I think I
- 4:33Speaker 4: think we're gonna get fired.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I think I know that's why he finally added just behind,
- 4:42Speaker 3: because you know, he get fired. Same all throwing. We've
- 4:47Speaker 3: gone through gm D. Something is something with the team
- 4:56Speaker 3: has to be has to be done.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Now you kind of questioned what I mean, Yeah, I'm
- 5:02Speaker 2: not listen, I'm not asking them to bring the town
- 5:06Speaker 2: call from back.
- 5:06Speaker 3: The men's is.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Late eight, you know, seven eighty. He's not gonna want
- 5:12Speaker 2: to coach again. Bring bring someone, do someone call from White,
- 5:18Speaker 2: bring someone back?
- 5:19Speaker 3: Who's man? Know what the heck that doing the locker room?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh Kennedy. You know, basically if he's heading the butt,
- 5:30Speaker 2: that what's gonna need to happen? And the one the
- 5:34Speaker 2: weak ones like this, maybe what the rest of the
- 5:37Speaker 2: speed is gonna be.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Oh and look I know it's the Commanders, but next
- 5:43Speaker 1: week's having the Chargers, and they looked good against the
- 5:46Speaker 1: Chiefs on Friday night in Brazil. That hardball Herbert connection
- 5:50Speaker 1: is for real. And I'd love to see a Burns
- 5:53Speaker 1: dexter Lawrence Abdul Carter uh caveon Thibodeaux line stop them.
- 6:01Speaker 1: But I don't know, because then if they can't stop Herbert,
- 6:05Speaker 1: you offense won't generate anything. We could be looking at
- 6:07Speaker 1: him too. And I am trying to stay adoptimistic as possible,
- 6:11Speaker 1: but after today, my optimism is dampened. I wouldn't say
- 6:16Speaker 1: little bit. I would say quite a bit.
- 6:22Speaker 3: We need to do better, that's all.
- 6:24Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. If we're not doing if we're
- 6:28Speaker 2: not doing any better than what you know, and something's
- 6:32Speaker 2: gonna be done. You know, Marin Tish had to figure
- 6:36Speaker 2: out what the.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Hell is going on? Yah, both of them. Man.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Any times. You know, like I said, I think giants
- 6:44Speaker 2: can't have had it we I mean, yeah, we're told
- 6:48Speaker 2: that when when we win, to someone to sit back
- 6:51Speaker 2: and enjoy it.
- 6:52Speaker 3: But you know, Giant fans are hungry for another. We've
- 6:57Speaker 3: been We've been hungry for people.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Quite some time, and the fact that you know, danger
- 7:04Speaker 2: had not gone the way they have, I'm not going,
- 7:08Speaker 2: well they could and dunk part k all.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Right, Well, you know one of the other passions you
- 7:15Speaker 1: have for sure is about the Yanks, and we're gonna
- 7:19Speaker 1: talk about them too, because finally there's a divisional hope
- 7:23Speaker 1: around the corner. They took two out of three against
- 7:26Speaker 1: the Blue Jayden team that look, I know they the
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yanks went down seven games against the Blue Jays, But Sean,
- 7:34Speaker 1: I have to say, for the first time since that
- 7:38Speaker 1: part of June, I say they have divisional hopes? Were
- 7:42Speaker 1: you hopeful after this weekend.
- 7:46Speaker 2: If we keep going the way Monald keeps will be
- 7:50Speaker 2: if we keep winning in a chance, it's always a chance.
- 7:54Speaker 2: But these guys have come back, you know always.
- 7:59Speaker 3: We know that.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Well, with that being said, a.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Lot of there's a lot of angry Yankee bits.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Up there, you know, and I've been I've been a
- 8:08Speaker 2: silent supporter of Aaron Bone, but you haven't wonder it's
- 8:13Speaker 2: not Bone.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I mean, let me ask you this.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You know, do you think if I've won the analytics
- 8:21Speaker 2: they have more hope than common.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Right, the analytics department, is it drives me nuts. I
- 8:28Speaker 1: wish Boone would manage with this guy. Look, John, you
- 8:31Speaker 1: may disagree with me, there's a reason why he won
- 8:33Speaker 1: one hundred games for the first three seasons as Yankee manager.
- 8:37Speaker 1: He managed with his gut. He didn't manage of analytics,
- 8:40Speaker 1: so to speak. I don't know where the change went.
- 8:42Speaker 1: But if you can only keep managing with the gut,
- 8:45Speaker 1: he has a winning formula. I know that Bennar and
- 8:48Speaker 1: Deval and Williams and Weaver have been struggling at times,
- 8:53Speaker 1: but if you use them consistently, consistently, they can pull
- 8:58Speaker 1: and provide some support work in the in the back
- 9:01Speaker 1: end of that game.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Let me ask you this if and I'm saying this
- 9:08Speaker 2: for argument sake, Okay, okay, and what ship I'm trying
- 9:13Speaker 2: to get the guy's last name Colors?
- 9:16Speaker 3: Thank you. Butler had econ.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Complete you know what I mean? A passed his first
- 9:26Speaker 2: had he paid no hitter in a perfect game?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Well that was Clark Smith you're thinking of, because remember he.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Switzler was the first time out. He was like he
- 9:38Speaker 2: was crooling.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Oh I think he had six per beginnings if I'm
- 9:40Speaker 1: not mistaken something like that.
- 9:42Speaker 3: No, no.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Smittler was cruding through most of the most of through
- 9:52Speaker 2: most of the game, and then he had like that
- 9:54Speaker 2: one bad pitch and it's like, you know, it's like
- 9:58Speaker 2: okay because boon thinking.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I remember it was one of the games where.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It might have been he uh.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Might have been Heal who was going into the.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Eighth and went like a perfect game or whatever.
- 10:19Speaker 2: And bone poll of them and you kind of wonder,
- 10:22Speaker 2: what the heck Thick, Yeah, I a president. You know
- 10:28Speaker 2: you want to pull the guy.
- 10:29Speaker 3: But but if you if you have yah, if you
- 10:36Speaker 3: pitch that still has gas in the tank, no might
- 10:40Speaker 3: not go. You know what I mean?
- 10:41Speaker 1: He stay with your guy, all right? And I saw
- 10:45Speaker 1: this early on with Clark Schmidt. Remember he took that
- 10:47Speaker 1: no hair into like the eighth into this eighth inning,
- 10:50Speaker 1: and they took him out after seven. And I wish
- 10:53Speaker 1: he was out there for the eighth inning, I really do,
- 10:55Speaker 1: because he was.
- 10:56Speaker 2: He was he was cruising, you know what to finding
- 11:00Speaker 2: about Uh?
- 11:02Speaker 3: I thought he got traded.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, No, Unfortunately Schmid has undergone Tommy John surgery. And
- 11:12Speaker 1: I wondered if not letting him fully let throw the
- 11:16Speaker 1: rest of that game to its natural end whatever it
- 11:21Speaker 1: was going to be. Through them affle of it. I
- 11:23Speaker 1: don't know. I'm just speculating here, But anyway, to your point, John,
- 11:27Speaker 1: the pitch counts are are a big deal, and it
- 11:32Speaker 1: does feel like if they can't get through the fifth
- 11:34Speaker 1: or sixth, we're worried every game, aren't we probably probably?
- 11:40Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Like I said, you know.
- 11:43Speaker 2: We need to stop. We need to go by cut
- 11:46Speaker 2: and not by analytics. Let's said they ended that we
- 11:50Speaker 2: go by analytics and it go from bad to Warrens.
- 11:55Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Oh, with that one correct on that it's it's like
- 12:02Speaker 1: they need to I don't want to say throw away
- 12:06Speaker 1: the analytics department, but they need to. They need to
- 12:08Speaker 1: just focus on the cut and manage that way. But
- 12:12Speaker 1: what I'm liking to see now is I like, I
- 12:15Speaker 1: like seeing a guy like Austin Wells leaving the league
- 12:20Speaker 1: in sacrifice flies. I mean, they need to get some
- 12:23Speaker 1: runs besides the home run ball.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, I think that. I think the Yankees,
- 12:29Speaker 2: and you know me, I'm die hard and bray.
- 12:33Speaker 3: By the Yankees. But let's get honest.
- 12:36Speaker 2: If it's too home.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Run happy over the last several years and that.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Kind they don't play enough they don't play enough small ball,
- 12:46Speaker 2: and that that's what really has done.
- 12:50Speaker 3: You know, I want to say more harm than good,
- 12:53Speaker 3: you know, Oh.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, no without adapt So let me ask you this.
- 13:00Speaker 1: We're now heading into this next stress stretch of games
- 13:04Speaker 1: where we're gonna face the Tigers. We've already we've already
- 13:07Speaker 1: took the series from Houston, We've already took the series
- 13:09Speaker 1: from the Blue Jays. This twelve game stretch is starting
- 13:12Speaker 1: out well. Cannot continue into Detroit? I think it can.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I think we get.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Gals if we if we stand in the way, well that.
- 13:23Speaker 3: We are, I think we Okay. If not, you know,
- 13:30Speaker 3: heads might roll, but I might be wrong.
- 13:33Speaker 1: You know, Nope, You're not wrong. And you know what's
- 13:36Speaker 1: going to be interesting is I believe they're going to
- 13:38Speaker 1: face Tarik school Ball either WEDNESDA or Thursday, because that'll
- 13:42Speaker 1: be his fifth day out. And I want to say
- 13:44Speaker 1: how they handle school ball if they do face them
- 13:46Speaker 1: the series. I really want to see how that matchup goes.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be It'll be interesting.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Let me ask you this kind say, being twenty twenty, okay, you.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Know, and.
- 14:00Speaker 3: My opinion, and because I've.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Been saying it for for months on end. I ain't
- 14:05Speaker 2: even month years on end at the ages. Let's say,
- 14:10Speaker 2: for arguments, they don't make the playoffs.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Okay, okay, okay, all right, they don't make the playoffs.
- 14:19Speaker 3: We finally pulled a trigger on Cashman, the.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Same thing Man, and it's like you kind of had
- 14:28Speaker 2: to wonder we haven't won fifteen years, you know, and
- 14:32Speaker 2: then it goes straight to hell, you know, wonder when
- 14:37Speaker 2: when is it.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Gonna be enhing?
- 14:38Speaker 1: Not? You're you're right. Look, I do think though Cashman
- 14:46Speaker 1: did load up with the deadline. I think he did
- 14:48Speaker 1: have a better deadline. I even think you go back
- 14:51Speaker 1: to last year, Jazz Chisholm was a good acquisition at
- 14:55Speaker 1: the deadline and he's become a big part of the
- 14:57Speaker 1: Yankees' role. And I know it was, oh, are you
- 15:00Speaker 1: you're defending Cashman. Well, I'm just stating facts. He has
- 15:04Speaker 1: come away from the last two deadlines successfully. But I'll
- 15:08Speaker 1: tell you why people are worried about Cashman. Today's a
- 15:13Speaker 1: perfect example. You know what they honored today at Yankee Stadium.
- 15:17Speaker 1: They honored Tzi Sabathia and his induction to the Hall
- 15:20Speaker 1: of Fame today at Yankee Stadium, And you know, why
- 15:23Speaker 1: I'm bringing that up, Sean. I'm bringing that up because
- 15:31Speaker 1: in two thousand and nine, at two thousand and eight,
- 15:34Speaker 1: after the new stadium, Old Same was closed, they didn't
- 15:37Speaker 1: make the postseason. It was Gerardi's first year. Cashman brought
- 15:42Speaker 1: along two guys that revitalized that Yankee tea Sees Sabathia
- 15:49Speaker 1: and Mark Tischrif And ever since then and ever since,
- 15:54Speaker 1: other moments were bringing an a rod. They're waiting, Yankee
- 15:57Speaker 1: fans are waiting for that next big acquisition. Well, it
- 16:00Speaker 1: may never come. You have to be proud of the
- 16:03Speaker 1: acquisitions that they have. Now, Bendor is becoming your closure.
- 16:07Speaker 1: We don't have to worry about Devin Williams completely blowing
- 16:11Speaker 1: your game because now at least if he he does,
- 16:13Speaker 1: it's in the eighth inning and not at the end
- 16:15Speaker 1: of the game. I mean, I don't know. I'm trying
- 16:17Speaker 1: to look at the bright side of that hole Devin
- 16:19Speaker 1: Williams situation. But the point is he's brought in reinforcements,
- 16:23Speaker 1: which he needed to do. But if they don't make it,
- 16:28Speaker 1: I think the eyes turned to Boone and what they
- 16:30Speaker 1: do at that level. I know he signed it to
- 16:32Speaker 1: your extension, but again, it's going to be. I think
- 16:37Speaker 1: if they make the postseason, he's safe. I think they
- 16:44Speaker 1: not only make the postseason and win a few rounds,
- 16:46Speaker 1: he's safe. But Sean, I want to get your take
- 16:49Speaker 1: on this. There are so many that say, oh, I
- 16:51Speaker 1: wish the Yanks would just not make the playoffs so
- 16:53Speaker 1: they can reevaluate and clean house. Why do you what's
- 16:57Speaker 1: the point in rooting against the Yankees success. I never
- 17:00Speaker 1: understand it. I want them to win every year. I
- 17:02Speaker 1: don't care what what that means in the office. I
- 17:05Speaker 1: want them to win now.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And I know I agree, you know, I think I
- 17:11Speaker 2: think the only thing with the Yankees is that they're good.
- 17:13Speaker 3: They for the most part, have had it. They like.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yigvans, have had it, and they want you know, the
- 17:25Speaker 2: problem of yank you'll agree.
- 17:28Speaker 3: With differently, but yak are too uh.
- 17:33Speaker 2: They're too winning happy, because that makes sense, like they
- 17:37Speaker 2: won't want them. And what I mean by that is
- 17:40Speaker 2: that they they want them win every year. And you know,
- 17:44Speaker 2: it's not like it's not like we're back in ninety six.
- 17:48Speaker 2: It's not like we're back in ninety six where we
- 17:51Speaker 2: you know, we well, we went through that incredible incredible run.
- 17:55Speaker 2: You know, it's not like we can do that again.
- 17:57Speaker 2: That's never going to be defeated, you know, getting you know,
- 18:02Speaker 2: getting another core for will never be repeated.
- 18:06Speaker 3: You know.
- 18:07Speaker 2: That's and I think Yankee fans, you know, if they
- 18:11Speaker 2: were Yankee fans, is that we're we're patient. We're patient bunch.
- 18:15Speaker 2: But it's been fifteen years, you know that. Yankee beans,
- 18:19Speaker 2: I think we're proster and they kind of add you
- 18:24Speaker 2: gotta get to the point where like, hey, we want
- 18:28Speaker 2: we ain and we play. You know, it's like where
- 18:36Speaker 2: would point the finger?
- 18:37Speaker 1: You know, No, it's it's you're right, it does become that.
- 18:44Speaker 1: But hey, if they can win some games, I think
- 18:47Speaker 1: the finger pointing will be leave it. They just want
- 18:48Speaker 1: to win the world. Yankee fans just want to go
- 18:51Speaker 1: down the canon the heroes and win the world series again.
- 18:53Speaker 1: That's that's what it's all about. So we'll have to see.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I gotta I gotta say, Sean, you know, never really
- 19:00Speaker 1: we did talk about it a little bit back in
- 19:02Speaker 1: the day, but I want you to share because I
- 19:06Speaker 1: shared our first episode yesterday. As you know, I want
- 19:09Speaker 1: you to share a bit about your story because since
- 19:11Speaker 1: we've talked I've developed this whole network about adaptability and
- 19:15Speaker 1: about the Viscardi School, and you are an example of adaptability.
- 19:20Speaker 1: You're adapting every day to in your life. So tell
- 19:23Speaker 1: us your story a little bit, because I want people
- 19:25Speaker 1: to know who Shown Hughes is when he's not watching
- 19:27Speaker 1: baseball and what life is like. I mean, you know,
- 19:31Speaker 1: we got a lot out of Viscardi School together and
- 19:33Speaker 1: here we are fifteen sixteen years later talking sports.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Oh man, it's crazy. It's well. My story, My story
- 19:42Speaker 3: is a crazy one.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I was in the public school system for several years. No,
- 19:51Speaker 2: you know, I hope you know now I'm not gonna right,

- 23:22Speaker 1: Okay, that's right, So that made Yeah, I think I
- 23:25Speaker 1: remember that connection now.
- 23:26Speaker 2: So he was playing for the Segas at the time,
- 23:31Speaker 2: and I'm like, and I'm I'm a Dieard Island of fants.
- 23:34Speaker 3: When to go on in this playing time?
- 23:38Speaker 2: The minute the minute he he joined the Islanders, I met,
- 23:42Speaker 2: I mean, such a good guy. Who was you know?
- 23:45Speaker 3: I actually I actually you don't notice. But before I
- 23:48Speaker 3: came to Muscari, I met with Ulan. Oh wow, remember
- 23:54Speaker 3: what Mike Pilan and all those guys came, you know, Scarni.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I do not remember that.
- 24:01Speaker 3: I didn't know how to remember that.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It was so long ago. But I met me before
- 24:09Speaker 2: I went to the Nashall College team and they were
- 24:12Speaker 2: doing you know, an autograph signing whatever. I got to
- 24:17Speaker 2: meet meet, met the people on the h at the
- 24:20Speaker 2: Nashall College seum.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Well, I do remember when Gillies and nic Stroam used
- 24:25Speaker 1: to come over to Viscardi and be part of our
- 24:27Speaker 1: sports night with them.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I'm in that man at sports night.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That's a great guy. The two of them were great.
- 24:35Speaker 1: And Rogobert of course always coming through to Viscardi. Tell me,
- 24:40Speaker 1: tell me, tell the audience a little bit about if
- 24:44Speaker 1: you don't mind your disability, because I've never really asked you,
- 24:47Speaker 1: but tell us and how you adapt that every day
- 24:50Speaker 1: because are now our mission is talk about adaptability and
- 24:53Speaker 1: talk about people's stories now they're adapting to help others
- 24:56Speaker 1: adapt as well.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Well. I mean, like I said, I don't I don't
- 25:00Speaker 3: do too much. I just I walk every day. I
- 25:03Speaker 3: you know, I keep.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Myself as active as I can. The only time I
- 25:07Speaker 2: don't The only time I don't walk is tweet that
- 25:13Speaker 2: during the week time, you know, so I have my
- 25:17Speaker 2: time to just you know, relaxed.
- 25:19Speaker 3: We'll go for me, spend time. You know that's uh.
- 25:24Speaker 2: To me, good me, just for those you know, three
- 25:29Speaker 2: months and I'm just full of a lax.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Don't think you possible.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Well, I love to hear that you're doing well. And
- 25:41Speaker 1: I hope to see you astarted school school soon. And uh,
- 25:45Speaker 1: you know, when we were doing this thirteen fourteen years ago,
- 25:49Speaker 1: who knew we'd be at this state right where we're
- 25:51Speaker 1: at fifty thousand downloads and remember the blog talk radio days.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I mean, there's just a lot of things we got
- 25:57Speaker 1: to work out and now here we are.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Absolutely, Man, it's been it's been very it's been fun
- 26:04Speaker 2: to watch, you know.
- 26:05Speaker 1: And you you were definitely a big part of this
- 26:07Speaker 1: and I'd love to have you on more, uh as
- 26:10Speaker 1: we get along in this season, because I meant I
- 26:12Speaker 1: miss your insights.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, man, we the thing.
- 26:15Speaker 3: What I think what happened was things.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Got crazy, but you know, wife kind of.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Interfewed with wife. You know, it was just it was
- 26:25Speaker 3: just one of those things where.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Not that I didn't want to call if you think
- 26:28Speaker 2: I had a lot going.
- 26:29Speaker 1: On, absolutely, and and you know it was I ended
- 26:34Speaker 1: up in radio out of all, you know, alongside this.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So the parallel journey is very real. But it's nice
- 26:40Speaker 1: to now I gotta ask you this. So Gallay and
- 26:42Speaker 1: I had seen South Paul on Jim Abbot about Jim Abbott.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Did you see that special? And do you remember meeting
- 26:49Speaker 1: Jim Abbott Viscardi.
- 26:51Speaker 2: I do remember meeting Jim Abbott. And I ain't telling
- 26:54Speaker 2: you this and this was Bet and I'm and I'm
- 26:57Speaker 2: confessing to see you only okay because you.
- 27:00Speaker 3: You're kind of like a non general zone with me.
- 27:06Speaker 2: I remember watching his No hitter and I was still
- 27:10Speaker 2: a med at the time, and I said, wow, this
- 27:14Speaker 2: guy just I didn't even know he did. I didn't
- 27:20Speaker 2: know he had like I used to said when I
- 27:24Speaker 2: was a kid, I.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Used to.
- 27:27Speaker 5: Boat and it was crazy though No hitor and it
- 27:35Speaker 5: was just insane, like he's got I.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Mean, it's not as it's not as big as it
- 27:40Speaker 2: Wasn't I don't think. I mean, because there's a lot
- 27:44Speaker 2: of history at the Home Stadium. People people remember the
- 27:50Speaker 2: the three, the three no uh, the three, the three perfect.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Never talk about the docor Cunning no or hit her.
- 28:02Speaker 2: They never talk about the gym habit No hit her.
- 28:06Speaker 2: And when I when I had a chance to meet.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Him and he signed my bow, he goes, you.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Know, he.
- 28:15Speaker 3: You know, I was like the rest of them are
- 28:20Speaker 3: Yankee Nation was star shocked.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I used to be, you know.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I would watch him and be like, I'm like.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Like I don't when I get I'm certain people, I
- 28:34Speaker 2: really don't.
- 28:35Speaker 3: And anybody who knows me knows that I run my
- 28:37Speaker 3: mouth of my own. And when I met when I.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Met Bay, when I met when I met all the
- 28:44Speaker 2: all those Yankees you know, and I and I met
- 28:47Speaker 2: maddingly to make action. It took me five to ten
- 28:52Speaker 2: minutes to talk to the man. I'm like, in my head,
- 28:56Speaker 2: I'm playing.
- 28:57Speaker 3: To myself for God, Man, take you a friend of mine,
- 29:04Speaker 3: A man, will you before?
- 29:08Speaker 2: So for me and Megan it was like, okay, you
- 29:12Speaker 2: get go together. And now now he's in Florida, so.
- 29:20Speaker 1: No, it's quite amazing. Sean Well. I loved when he
- 29:25Speaker 1: came to Viscardi. He and Guscasage were on the stage
- 29:27Speaker 1: with us at the Viscardi Center and that special was
- 29:34Speaker 1: so so spa. I recommend anybody who wants to watch it.
- 29:37Speaker 1: It's it is a tear jerker, So you're gonna cry
- 29:40Speaker 1: a lot, in a lot of happy tears because of
- 29:43Speaker 1: the journey he went through. But you know what the
- 29:44Speaker 1: interesting thing about him was and sort of like this, See,
- 29:50Speaker 1: we don't want to be defined by our disability, but
- 29:52Speaker 1: by our thoughts, by our by our performance in life,
- 29:56Speaker 1: and by our uh progress some life and all throughout
- 30:01Speaker 1: his career. You know, he never wanted to be defined
- 30:03Speaker 1: by the army. Just wanted to be defined as a
- 30:05Speaker 1: great picture.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Absolutely, and he didn't he didn't.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Like the word inspiration, and I think that goes for
- 30:11Speaker 1: a lot of people. We hate the word inspiration sometimes,
- 30:13Speaker 1: right Sean, Sean, I think I lost you there.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm here, man.
- 30:26Speaker 1: I was saying, I don't know if people in the
- 30:29Speaker 1: same community like the Warren inspiration. I know Jim Abbott
- 30:33Speaker 1: did not.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Uh, I don't.
- 30:38Speaker 2: By the way, we point to get a little uh
- 30:41Speaker 2: no personal sort for.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Me to tell you. Sure, you know I recently turned forty.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I think that it's in staring me out.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Okay, keep sharing more.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Okay, but guess you're sharing me out? Man? Oh?
- 31:04Speaker 1: Who did who shared you out?
- 31:07Speaker 3: It was my fortieth birthday?
- 31:08Speaker 1: Right, Okay, guess you're.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Sharing me out?
- 31:13Speaker 1: Oh my Tino, you know another good friend of the
- 31:18Speaker 1: Miscartish Center. I mean, he was there a couple of years.
- 31:20Speaker 1: He was there last year.
- 31:23Speaker 3: It's a funny thing.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I didn't even know.
- 31:26Speaker 3: I didn't even know about it.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I was like, I guess, I guess there's this new
- 31:33Speaker 2: social media thing called cameo or whatever.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Yes, that's correct.
- 31:37Speaker 3: And Megan, my my siblings set up the whole thing.
- 31:42Speaker 2: So I turned forty, and and then I get the
- 31:46Speaker 2: message from Tino.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I was like, I had my siblings for years. I
- 31:52Speaker 3: go how how?
- 31:55Speaker 2: I asked him from up to like, I'm like, how
- 32:00Speaker 2: my part?
- 32:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 32:02Speaker 2: It was?
- 32:04Speaker 3: It was a very shocking surprise, that's all you would say.
- 32:08Speaker 1: You know, Sehan, did you ever compete at the Empire
- 32:12Speaker 1: State Games.
- 32:13Speaker 3: I did. It was a long.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Time ago, but I did. Basically, I play record later
- 32:20Speaker 2: that day.
- 32:21Speaker 3: But I also went to the.
- 32:27Speaker 2: The Irish American Games.
- 32:30Speaker 3: I won two gold, three gold, won silver. You know,
- 32:34Speaker 3: I was I worked my tail off, let's put it
- 32:38Speaker 3: that way. You know. I man, I'm very competitive.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I'm a little crazy, but I'm I'm also a little competitive,
- 32:49Speaker 2: you know. It's part of my teams through se.
- 32:55Speaker 3: No I hate.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Well, yeah, and I'll tell you. I remember we did
- 33:02Speaker 1: Friday night rec and you actually did in the alumni
- 33:05Speaker 1: game a couple because you played for the Cubbies and Cougars, right, No,
- 33:08Speaker 1: I only did.
- 33:10Speaker 2: The hockey thing, and that was like maybe, let's see,
- 33:16Speaker 2: it was one year in sixth.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Grade, and then.
- 33:22Speaker 2: The following year I played for the for the Raiders.
- 33:27Speaker 3: You know, and and.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Then that and then I guess, no, I mean I
- 33:33Speaker 2: ain't because I didn't really play.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I didn't really play, and.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I just I just did the hockey thing at the.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Time, you know, Yeah, no hockey. I think it was.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Oh and we used to be on the stage while
- 33:50Speaker 1: you guys played hockey on the main gym floor. It
- 33:52Speaker 1: was it was a lot of fun. And there was
- 33:53Speaker 1: a whole league to it too.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Yep, there were the raiders. There were uh the level.
- 34:00Speaker 2: They were, oh, very rebels on the nights, you know.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I mean, like I said, I'm a very competitive person.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Oh and uh, I didn't tell you this, but I

- 34:49Speaker 3: Man?
- 34:50Speaker 2: Long time?
