- 0:32We're live. Welcome to the All Balls No
- 0:35Filler podcast. Live from the cabin Kitchen.
- 0:38I'm Zach. He's Brad.
- 0:40Hello there. And behind the scenes, we have a
- 0:43man fresh off international break and apparently he came
- 0:47back with clear eyes, full heart, and he feels like he
- 0:49can't lose. He's researcher Cal.
- 0:53Researcher Cal Baby. We're here.
- 0:56How are you doing mate? I'm all right, I'm all right.
- 0:59It feels like it's been a long time.
- 1:01I mean, not for me and you because we chat all the time,
- 1:03but like yeah, it's two weeks, two weeks since the last pod.
- 1:08That's my fault. To those that do and have been
- 1:11listening regularly to the pod. Full time job took precedent
- 1:16last week, unfortunately. So we took a week out.
- 1:20Not a major thing. It's not been crazy has it, the
- 1:22last couple of weeks. But you know, better late than
- 1:25never. So we're back and we're here and
- 1:27we'll we'll try and catch up what we need.
- 1:30That's it, that's it. I'm not going to lie, I feel
- 1:32bad. The last time we eat last time
- 1:33we were on the pod, I was a bit under the weather.
- 1:35I had a few comments training one of the one of the guy, I
- 1:38think you Jack actually came up to it training and we're like I
- 1:41watched back to the pod and and you looked like you were going
- 1:43to die and I'm like, yeah, I felt like I was going to die.
- 1:45So you know, your credit to the cars that were there, but I feel
- 1:48low is better now we're here. We're chilling long weekend, you
- 1:53know, as it is as well with that, you know, I'm not making
- 1:57an excuse again, but if you can hear any sort of weather in the
- 2:00background, any noise that you don't normally hear, I feel like
- 2:04I'm in the high of the in the eye of an hurricane right now.
- 2:07It's come out of nowhere. This weather I am getting shaken
- 2:10about like no rate. So I apologise in advance for
- 2:13that, but. Right.
- 2:15I I drove home today like it was obviously drove home from work
- 2:19about, I don't know, about half, four or five o'clock fine, no
- 2:24issues. I'm in my house at about 6:00.
- 2:27I'm like, what on earth is that noise?
- 2:29I'm looking out the window. And it's absolutely biblical.
- 2:31Yeah, biblical. Out of their way.
- 2:33Crazy. Yeah, I can feel it shaking
- 2:35about actually above my head. If if you're listening to this,
- 2:38by the way, we do have videos that that go on our YouTube and
- 2:40on Spotify. Go check them out.
- 2:41We we put a lot of work into them if it helps us out.
- 2:43But you can see right by my head, I've got A Little Dream
- 2:45catcher and it's just shaking around like no race.
- 2:48So I, I apologise on that. But Brad, what do we have in
- 2:52store for today's episode? I'm going to feel it's going to
- 2:54be quite a busy one if I'm going to be honest.
- 2:56It's going to be a busy one because we've got obviously got
- 2:59two weeks to catch up on. Probably won't catch up on every
- 3:02single news item there is because a lot of them are drab.
- 3:05But we will touch on the biggest news items from the NFL.
- 3:10We're going to have our very, very first all balls, no Philtre
- 3:16power ranking, which I'm really, really excited about.
- 3:19This is going to be an exciting one and as you found over the
- 3:23last few weeks, if you are a regular listener, our rugby
- 3:26league feature I can't speak and of course we cannot forget all
- 3:33other balls, so let's get to it shall we mate?
- 3:38That's it, right? We'll get stuck into the
- 3:40headlines for this week. So a couple of big headlines
- 3:43coming in. We're going to touch on them
- 3:44briefing now and then we're going to get into deep dive into
- 3:46them in a little bit. But JSN has been paid.
- 3:50He signed a mega, mega deal, which is going to set the bar
- 3:54for the rest of the wide receivers.
- 3:55We'll touch on that in just a second.
- 3:58Travis Kelsey also signs for three more seasons.
- 4:00Bullshit that he's going to do all them.
- 4:03But yeah, he's signed a contract that will see him out for the
- 4:05next three seasons in Kansas. The Buccaneers linebacker
- 4:09Levante David has retired after believe 14 seasons, but don't
- 4:13quote me on that. I think I saw that online.
- 4:16And the former Colts wide receiver Ty Hilton has retired
- 4:21as well. Now, I'm not going to lie to
- 4:22you, I saw this come up and I thought to myself, well, I
- 4:25thought he retired years ago. I genuinely where?
- 4:28Has it been the last few years? Exactly right.
- 4:31It came out. I think it was just from them.
- 4:33I'm going to retire now as I can't go on a squad type thing.
- 4:36Look, credit where credit's due, he was a very underrated
- 4:40receiver. He was and and and he was rated
- 4:42right highly as well, if that makes sense.
- 4:44Like, but I don't think he was. I don't think he was rated as
- 4:48big as what he should have been. He was a great wide receiver,
- 4:51like absolutely fantastic wide receiver in my opinion.
- 4:54He was always one of those for me on fantasy where I'd probably
- 4:58have it. I I think I had him for multiple
- 4:59years on the bounce and he was just one of those steady point
- 5:03producing fantasy receivers. He was never like blockbuster.
- 5:06He had might have the odd game, but then, yeah, he sort of fell
- 5:11off the face of the earth this last year too.
- 5:13I honestly could not tell you where he's been or if he's even
- 5:17been anywhere. Has he been out for the last
- 5:19season and then retired? I genuinely have no idea.
- 5:22I was scrolling through I think you were exit time when I saw it
- 5:24come up saying like Ty Hill and announcing retirement.
- 5:28And I genuinely thought it would then parody accounts like, you
- 5:30know, I'm super late NFL news accounts that that give you that
- 5:33give you things like 4 years later.
- 5:35I thought it one of them. But now he's retired, he's he's
- 5:38done from there. So they're the main kind of
- 5:40headlines from this past couple of week.
- 5:42Apologies, we've missed the knee, but they're the ones that
- 5:43have stuck out to us more. Anything else?
- 5:46But Brad, there is a couple I want to do.
- 5:48I do want to deep dive into you and that's the trades and the
- 5:50contracts that are happening around the NFL right now.
- 5:53OK. So the first one for me, that is
- 5:57a bit, you know, it needs to be quite close to your into your
- 6:00heart that we're we're going to be talking about is that Jalen
- 6:06Waddle has gone to the Broncos. I should say Jalen waddled to
- 6:11the Broncos. You know what I'm saying?
- 6:13He's gone there for a first and a third, first, third and a
- 6:17fourth for Waddle and a fourth in return.
- 6:20What's your initial view being a Dolphins fan on this trade?
- 6:25It's kind of mixed because you don't want to get rid like
- 6:30Waddle. I was really valued Waddle.
- 6:32I think he's a great player. He's had, you know, some really
- 6:36big seasons. He's had a couple of quieter
- 6:38seasons, but even quiet, like they're they're solid.
- 6:43And I think it's it's a shame to see him go.
- 6:46It is because he's been one of those big names of the last.
- 6:50I mean, I couldn't even tell you when he was drafted.
- 6:52Now actually, like off the top of my head, I can't remember
- 6:55what year it was he was drafted, but you know, of the last sort
- 6:58of five years or so. Yeah, Bang, nailed it.
- 7:01Thank you. Research Carl 2021.
- 7:03So the vast last five years he's been that name.
- 7:08That's kind of it was almost like that new IT.
- 7:12Well, it was the IT was part of that rebuild of of the Dolphins.
- 7:15And he's been great and he's a great player and he's always
- 7:20been he's never been one of those controversial players.
- 7:23He's never put a foot wrong. He's never really said the the
- 7:25wrong thing. He's never thrown anyone under
- 7:28the bus. He's never made any sort of like
- 7:30A.J. Brown style comments or
- 7:32whatever. And I'm going to see him go.
- 7:35But at the same time, I think considering the other teams can
- 7:42see what the Dolphins are doing and they can see that it's a
- 7:47full rebuild to get a first, third and then basically a
- 7:50fourth swap. So a first and a third, let's
- 7:53say for Waddle. I think actually it's not.
- 7:56It's not bad business. It is really not bad business.
- 7:59And I think going by that Green Bay mantra that Sully Allis has
- 8:05come from and he said we're going to do, he said, we're
- 8:07going to, we're going to draft. That's what we're going to do.
- 8:09We're going to build from the draft and then we'll sort of
- 8:13support that with free agency signings.
- 8:17I think I can't remember the number off the top of my head
- 8:19and I'm sure research can all start keeping away in the
- 8:22background, but that the, the sort of draft capital that we've
- 8:26got just for this year is solid. We've got a lot of picks this
- 8:30year and I'm, I'm looking forward to seeing how we use
- 8:35them because we're not going to take a quarterback this year.
- 8:38Obviously we signed Malik Willis.
- 8:41Like I'd be very, very shocked if we take a quarterback in the
- 8:44draft this year. I think, you know, the quality
- 8:46of the quarterback market in the draft this year is pretty poor
- 8:49anyway. There's quite a big drop off
- 8:52after your first, maybe second pick because there's a bit of
- 8:55talk about the top 2 recently in the last week or so.
- 9:00So we're not, we're not going to take a quarterback.
- 9:02And if we do, it'll just be a late round punt.
- 9:04But it's almost, can you use this capital now, this year to,
- 9:10to build the trenches, to build those key, key key holes that,
- 9:15you know, replace those holes that we've got all over the
- 9:18place now. And then next year, again, you
- 9:22smash the draft, probably take a quarterback next year and then
- 9:25see how a couple of years after that go.
- 9:29You know, Carl's just put a picture in now we've got 2/3, a
- 9:31second, four third rounders, which is massive, a fourth,
- 9:37fifth and two sevenths. So a real ransom of picks there,
- 9:41which is really, really good and it's a good place to have
- 9:45assuming you can hit on them that's.
- 9:47That's the ticket. Yeah, you can definitely find
- 9:50some some gems. And then third rounds.
- 9:51Now for me, this this trade is the Dolphins walking into the
- 9:57Broncos office and just pulling the pants down.
- 10:01Like I I'll give you that. I'll give you what was a great
- 10:05receiver, but he's not a first, third and a fourth receiver in
- 10:08my opinion. Like I just I don't think he's
- 10:10worth that value. I think Miami have pulled an
- 10:13absolute blinder here by walking into there and walking out what
- 10:17they've got. I genuinely do I I don't see him
- 10:21as that valuable as a target. It's for the seasons to come.
- 10:27Now, don't get wrong. There's not mean.
- 10:28I mean, I think personally, AJ Brown's a better receiver and
- 10:34they could have got him for the same price.
- 10:39But I think that's the thing though, it's it comes back to
- 10:41what I'd literally just said about positives about Waddle.
- 10:44He's not a disruptive presence, you know, and he easily.
- 10:49Could have. Been Whereas you've got A.J.
- 10:51Brown, who has repeatedly in two teams now caused controversy,
- 10:57caused drama and you've got the Broncos now who've got Sutton,
- 11:02they've got Waddle, they've got Brian like Marvin means junior.
- 11:07They've they've got a real receiver room there.
- 11:09How? Far they have got.
- 11:10Nicks and they're. They've got mouths to feed and
- 11:14can they, can they, can they feed all these mouths?
- 11:15That's the thing. Like I just think it's a lot of
- 11:17it's a lot to throw when you hadn't a decent rumours what it
- 11:22already was, if that makes sense.
- 11:23Like I I don't get me wrong, like I am not taking anything
- 11:26away from Miami. I think Miami have have walked
- 11:28out of this, this this trade, the the winners here massively.
- 11:33I'm not saying Waddle's a bad receiver.
- 11:35He is definitely up there in in the top category of the
- 11:38receiving court. It was in the NFL.
- 11:40I'm not I don't want debating that.
- 11:42I just don't. I just don't think he's worth
- 11:46what they've paid for him this time around.
- 11:48I really, I really don't like, I mean, it's miles off, but I
- 11:51wouldn't say I just don't think it's first, third and a fourth.
- 11:53Well, you can, you can kind of get rid of the 4th.
- 11:56That being said, though, that's just looking on paper at a
- 12:00first, third and a fourth. The first itself is pick 30.
- 12:04So that is basically a second round pick.
- 12:08And with this year's draft, you know, outside of the top ten,
- 12:13what are you realistically getting quality wise?
- 12:17Is the the there's a lot of talk in this draft not being the one
- 12:21as such by, you know, you get them every few years where
- 12:24there's just a draft that's outside that top ten.
- 12:26There's not many people there and that you kind of want to
- 12:28build around. But I think it would say this
- 12:31was shock of seeing that first third and 4th for Waddle.
- 12:35Like I just I just think it's a lot of value there for him.
- 12:38I'm not going to lie to you. I'm intrigued if you know.
- 12:43I hope we don't and I'd like to think he's so will build the
- 12:46whole team around, especially with having no receivers at the
- 12:49minute. But I'd be interested to see
- 12:51what HN gets if we ended up trading him, if that's what
- 12:54Waddles picked up. You know, obviously there's the
- 12:57running back sort of depreciation value, but you
- 13:01know, I'm hoping we don't even I'm hoping we don't get rid of a
- 13:04Chan like Malik Willis has got no receivers to throw to at the
- 13:07minute. So I'm hoping they've got their
- 13:08eyes on a few big receivers in the in the draft.
- 13:11I don't pretend to be an expert on college ball, so I hope
- 13:14they've got some big names there lined up with some of those
- 13:17picks. But you know, if they do move on
- 13:22from a Chan like, I'd expect a similar haul, which would be a
- 13:26good haul for a running back. Fingers.
- 13:28Crossed we keep him, keep him and build around him.
- 13:30That's what I'm hoping. That's it.
- 13:32And if you and if you do get rid of him, you're going to have an
- 13:35absolute shed load of, of picks to, to to play around with.
- 13:41Now this is where your backroom staff come in to earn the money.
- 13:44It's how you use these picks and, and, and go from there,
- 13:47because you can trade and you look at Cleveland and Jets over
- 13:49the past few years, there were quite a few picks and you know,
- 13:52it's, it's not necessarily always the best thing when
- 13:54you're putting all your eggs in in kids basically.
- 13:56And you know, you do trade them or whatever.
- 13:58But look, we'll see how it gets going gets on The initial shock
- 14:01to me was like what, you know, what do you do?
- 14:06It's just there will I thought a lot of value there.
- 14:09There's another trade that's happened and a trade that in my
- 14:12opinion makes a lot of sense for me.
- 14:14And that is just in fields to the Chiefs gone there for the
- 14:17sixth round pick when in the sixth round pick is not until
- 14:192027. It's not even going to affect
- 14:21this year's draft coming round. It's next year's draft.
- 14:24So it's 2027 pick fields to the Chiefs.
- 14:27This this immediately screams to me that Mahomes leg is worse
- 14:31than what they first thought because they they're considering
- 14:37an actual backup not just someone to start the first game
- 14:41and they've gone scheming another mobile ish QB to try and
- 14:49key the same playbook and replicate the same players as
- 14:51what Mahomes can do basically. I think it's a good signing.
- 14:57I think it's a really good signing.
- 14:59You know, they've got in for next to nothing.
- 15:02I don't know, the details are around salary and stuff like
- 15:04that. But like I think it's, I think
- 15:07it's a solid backup. I think he's probably going to
- 15:10start season. He's probably going to get a few
- 15:14games in there. The mobility.
- 15:17Yeah, absolutely. He is a different quarterback.
- 15:20I know, I know we talk about them both as kind of mobile, but
- 15:24he is a different quarterback. I'm not talking just about
- 15:27skill, you know, style of play and stuff.
- 15:31I think it's solid. I think it's a spot on deal for
- 15:36both teams. You know, Jets have got short of
- 15:39fields, which was always going to happen.
- 15:42They get a late pick back. They're not going to get much
- 15:44back for him. I'm surprised they've got that
- 15:47if I'm honest. And the Chiefs get I think a
- 15:51solid back up. You know, I think he'll do what
- 15:54they need him to do, especially with the sort of play callers
- 15:58and coaches around him have obviously proven to to be able
- 16:01to do good things clearly and get solid.
- 16:06So what's the? What's the bend?
- 16:07What's the is it the benchmark? I'd say what's what's the date
- 16:10in which Mahomes is not back at the same outfit season, because
- 16:13you've got to think we're going to talk about the Kelsey deal
- 16:16very soon. I think this kind of plays into
- 16:18why Kelsey's done three years rather than just on a one year
- 16:21contract sees to seem see himself out there.
- 16:25I think if Mahomes is not back by mid November, this it's our
- 16:34rest of the year because of no point to me at all.
- 16:37I mean the. General target from what I've
- 16:39seen is that he's back for week 1.
- 16:41Like that's what he's said publicly.
- 16:43I think is that rehab's going well and he'll be back for week
- 16:461. If he's saying that, I can't see
- 16:48him been out until November. I know it's NFL mine games, but
- 16:52I also, you know, if the saying is going to be back week 1,
- 16:55surely another 2-3 months after that it's a bit steep.
- 16:59Yeah, yeah. And I get that.
- 17:01Season goes. Yeah, exactly that.
- 17:03But then at the same time, Kelsey won't retire Fields.
- 17:08Do you know what I mean? Like, I don't see him retiring
- 17:11under field as he'll be retiring what his last game to be with
- 17:14Pat. But like, I don't know, I just I
- 17:17see this as I thought this is a solid, solid, backward and solid
- 17:21choice. I think I think just infielding
- 17:23the right team could be a really good QB.
- 17:27I think with this, this signing here is a bit of a we're going
- 17:31to just get someone while they're at market for next and
- 17:34off in just in case because if we're not, then we're going to
- 17:38be up Creek without a paddle again.
- 17:40And we don't want that. We don't want Minshew Mania for
- 17:42the 15th time because it don't work.
- 17:45So let's let's let's get somebody else in there.
- 17:48So feels to the Chiefs. Great signing them.
- 17:51We'll touch on Jarvis Kelton now actually going off the back of
- 17:54the Chiefs there three years, $54.7 million over them three
- 17:59years. He ain't seen three years out.
- 18:03He ain't got three more years left to him.
- 18:04I'm surprised he's got more than one year.
- 18:06And I'm surprised. I think if Pat Mahomes is fit
- 18:09and healthy and doesn't snap his leg in half like he did last
- 18:11year, I think he he he signs a one year contract and retires
- 18:15out at the end of the year. Personally, I think he's only
- 18:18signed three years. In fact, before you joined the
- 18:20car, me and Carl were talking about this and Carl, like, you
- 18:23know, it's probably a cap space thing, but like he's still
- 18:26affecting this year's cap with 12.
- 18:28I think it's 12 million is guaranteed this year or
- 18:29something rested in incentives, but still this year like I just
- 18:34it just why sign a contract for three years when you're not
- 18:38going to be there for three years?
- 18:40I just think it gives him the option.
- 18:42I think he's just in this. I think he wants to go out, you
- 18:46know, with the Super Bowl. He wants that glory story.
- 18:49And the beauty of retiring is obviously if a player retires,
- 18:54unless I'm getting completely wrong, I'm almost certain if a
- 18:57player retires, they don't then actually impact the cap hit.
- 19:03So let's say he's like, I don't know, I'm just plucking numbers
- 19:07out of my ass here. Let's say he's got 20 million
- 19:10due. So he plays the the next season
- 19:122026 into 27 and then 2027 season he's due 20 million.
- 19:17But he retires before the Chiefs don't then take that as a cap
- 19:21hit as far as I'm aware. So I think it just gives Kelsey,
- 19:27I think that's, I think it's a goodwill gesture from the Chiefs
- 19:30is what I think it is. And I think it's Kelsey saying,
- 19:34I honestly don't know how I feel.
- 19:36I really in his head he's saying I want to go out on top, but it
- 19:39might not happen. So I'm going to give myself
- 19:41three years to play with. I don't see him finishing three
- 19:44years. I don't, I think it'll be this
- 19:46year, next year at most. And I mean absolute most, but
- 19:50then there's there's the ego there the ego because he has,
- 19:53he's declined this last couple of years.
- 19:56He's accepted that himself. You know, if you listen to the
- 19:59new Heights podcast, which is a great podcast, by the way, I'd
- 20:01recommend it to anyone. Like he, he kind of has alluded
- 20:07to the fact that he's not at his peak anymore, but he still
- 20:10thinks he's got a lot to give. And he probably has, you know,
- 20:13it's just. The Chiefs, the last couple of
- 20:16years haven't been what they've been like across the board.
- 20:19Is he the peak Kelsey? No, he's absolutely not.
- 20:22Yeah, but was Gronk the peak Gronk at books?
- 20:25No. But was he was he impactful?
- 20:28Yes. Yeah, absolutely.
- 20:31So I think, I think as well with Kelsey, I think he offers more
- 20:34off the field than we'll ever see in terms of the experience
- 20:37and that it's still got a youthful mentality to teach the
- 20:41newcomers and the new guys how to kind of to embrace this this
- 20:46lifestyle and and being being part of the Chiefs.
- 20:48But at the same time, he's got that older head on where he's
- 20:50been there, done that, got T-shirt.
- 20:51Yes, it's great. But you know, the fall off is
- 20:53there. Look, he's an offering deal for
- 20:55me. He's he's he's going to retire
- 20:57out there. He's probably covering himself.
- 20:58They're probably just covering himself to make sure he don't
- 21:01retire somewhere else. He'll retire a Chief now.
- 21:04I think if Pat Mahomes is fit, it's a different story.
- 21:06But yeah, Chelsea science standard deal so good luck to
- 21:11him on that one. We'll see how kind of plays up
- 21:13by the end of this year. Talking of deals, JSN has been
- 21:18paid. He has now set the standard for
- 21:21the top top flight wide receivers. 4 years 169,000,000
- 21:28Jesus. I mean, don't get me wrong, the
- 21:30guys had a season where he's deserved this paycheck, but what
- 21:35has this done now in terms of setting the standard for why
- 21:40deceivers getting paid? Research, if you could just find
- 21:42us out, where does this stand in terms of pay, like guaranteed
- 21:46money? He's right, yeah.
- 21:49Yeah, guaranteed. I'm not sure, but he's the
- 21:51highest paid receiver in NFL history and it's it's it it
- 21:55blows my mind. There's two parts to me for this
- 21:58is like it's it's like kind of like that QB market.
- 22:01It's the next man up sort of mentality.
- 22:03Like next one's going to get paid the most, next one's going
- 22:05to pay the most. You know, when you're talking
- 22:07about your top end, there's also a good bit of business here.
- 22:12I think research cars just said 120 million guaranteed money,
- 22:17which is massive. That's that's massive.
- 22:22Realistically, looking at that, it's probably a three-year
- 22:24contract with the 4th year, you know, to negotiate probably.
- 22:30But when you're talking 40 mil a season, which even if you
- 22:33average the four years across this 170 across the four years,
- 22:38it's just shy of 40 mil average a season.
- 22:40You're talking quite about money there.
- 22:42It's massive. But I think, does he does he
- 22:46deserve it? Like this is the question I
- 22:48thought like, yes, he deserves to be paid, but is he the number
- 22:53one receiver? Yes, he he you know, I'm not
- 22:56going to pretend to know the stats off my head, but was he
- 22:59one of the most impactful receivers last season?
- 23:01Yes, he absolutely was. But is he the best receiver in
- 23:06the NFL? There's a lot of debate there
- 23:08that can be hard. I don't have the answer.
- 23:10It's all scenario based, isn't it?
- 23:11But. It's yeah, it's brilliant for
- 23:13me. Yes, last year he was, I think
- 23:15last year he was the best wide receiver in the NFL.
- 23:18But I don't think one year should get you the contract.
- 23:20And I'm, I'm not saying prior to that he wasn't a great wide
- 23:22receiver, by the way. But what I'm saying is prior to
- 23:24last year, he wasn't the best wide receiver in the NFL.
- 23:27That's what that's what my take is on this.
- 23:29And I don't think one year should get you paid the most
- 23:31amount of money in the NFL. A couple of episodes ago, in
- 23:34fact, we actually named the episode after it.
- 23:36I made a statement about the NFL drafted athletes.
- 23:38Just when are they going to stop being athletes?
- 23:40At what point do they reach peak athleticism?
- 23:43And the human body can't can't be any better because they're
- 23:45just getting better and better each year.
- 23:47At what point does the climate and the current market say that
- 23:51OK, enough's enough with these contracts?
- 23:53Like we can't basically it's going to be year in, year out or
- 23:55whatever it is. And they're paying these people
- 23:58when, like I said, we're now getting into QB money and QB's
- 24:01are, you know, toys are the highest paid people in the NFL.
- 24:04So when these next big money contracts come round, what sort
- 24:08of value is that going to be looking at?
- 24:10You're going to be looking at baseball style money soon
- 24:13because like, that's that's crazy money.
- 24:15Like at what point is is enough enough?
- 24:19Like, I get it, they deserve to be paid a good healthy chunk of
- 24:26money. But you know, if you're, I'm
- 24:29trying to think of a receiver on top of my head and, and now I'm
- 24:31talking about it, it's kind of kind of gone a bit mind, mind
- 24:34blank with it. If you're a receiver that's
- 24:36coming into your puka Nakua is a prime example here, right?
- 24:42Puka Nakua, he could just sit out next year now until he until
- 24:44he gets paid because because he set this example now and set
- 24:47this bar, this standard. And Puka, in my opinion, has
- 24:51been more impactful over the past two years than JSN has over
- 24:54the past two years. Not not just not just not just
- 24:57last season, but over the past two years, Puka has been the
- 25:00better receiver and deserves that kind of that that kind of
- 25:04paycheck. But now, now Puka's aid is going
- 25:06to start. They're going well.
- 25:07OK, let's sit down because my client needs paying now.
- 25:10It's an. Interesting 1 though, isn't it?
- 25:13Because like, I think what for me, you know, Schneider's done
- 25:18an absolute storm here because he could have actually, you
- 25:20know, he's what I say, three years into his rookie contract.
- 25:25So he could have had another year out of him.
- 25:29I'm. Pretty sure it was.
- 25:31It was a first round pick wasn't it?
- 25:33So they could have had then the fifth year option on him.
- 25:39Unless I'm wrong I can see research Cal typing.
- 25:41Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure it was the first round
- 25:43pick. So they got the first four
- 25:46years, then they could have had the 5th year option on him.
- 25:51But actually Schneider's gone. You know what, we've got the
- 25:54money. We're going to reward you and
- 25:55we're going to pay you. But I think the beauty in that
- 25:58is they are almost getting ahead of, well actually in two years
- 26:03time if I keep him on his fourth and then I just ride out his
- 26:07option in the 5th, I'm going to have to pay him even for him all
- 26:09because like. Three of them.
- 26:11Receivers have been paid, whereas Puka you've got, well,
- 26:16it's a fifth round pick for a start.
- 26:18I mean, he's absolutely blown up.
- 26:19So in terms of his value, he probably needs paying because
- 26:22he'll be getting way less than JSM was before getting paid
- 26:25anyway. But you've got the Rams, who
- 26:29have got a lot more people to pay for a start, and then you've
- 26:33got the worry with JSM about the the cuckoo land that seems to be
- 26:41going on off his brain this last couple of months or so.
- 26:44So I don't know, I think it's a good bit of business for
- 26:47Seahawks. I really do.
- 26:48It'll be interesting though, like you say, especially with
- 26:51like Puka, who was drafted the same year, to see how that plays
- 26:56out. I can't see him sitting out
- 26:59because obviously they don't get paid if they do.
- 27:03But you know, it'd be interesting.
- 27:06I can't see him sitting out because Puka's not that kind of
- 27:08guy. Like he's not he's not that ego.
- 27:12He hasn't got that ego behind him, but it would you know, we
- 27:15managed the example side on on it like he's not getting paid as
- 27:18much. But where does he set the
- 27:19standard? It'd be could be so interesting
- 27:21this next this next 12 month in seeing where contracts go in in
- 27:26areas. Because if you think about it,
- 27:28when the Barclay era of the the running backs came round, he set
- 27:30a kind of precedent for how much them running backs and Zeke how
- 27:34much the running backs getting paid.
- 27:35Because the the running backs with the with the core of the
- 27:37the team And now teams are now putting my money into wide
- 27:41receivers. But it not always works.
- 27:45Like if you look at the the Bengals, like it doesn't always
- 27:49work, putting that money in the receiver when you've got nothing
- 27:51else around you. But anyway, it's night.
- 27:52It's going to be It's going to be interesting to see if we have
- 27:54a lot of talking points throughout it, but they're the
- 27:57main headlines from this past couple of week.
- 27:59If we missed anything, guys, please let us know any comments
- 28:01in his DMS across all the socials at ABNF pod on all the
- 28:05socials. If you want to come watch these
- 28:07videos when I see my beautiful face and Brad's all right
- 28:09looking face, head over to our YouTube and our Spotify.
- 28:12There is videos to all of these, all of these wonderful,
- 28:17wonderful shows. Listen to right now.
- 28:19But you might want to actually come and flick over to the
- 28:22visuals now because we're going to talk about some uniforms,
- 28:26Brad, we have done and the power rankings for the uniform we're
- 28:30going to get into in just a second.
- 28:31But there is a team that's rebranded themselves, OK?
- 28:35And we're going to we're going to show the the, the, the the
- 28:40kit. And it's probably going to give
- 28:42away where I ranked this kit within within within my power
- 28:45rankings in particular. But the Tennessee Titans have
- 28:52brought on brought out a new kit, a new style of of a new way
- 28:57of luck, right? It's on screen now, right.
- 29:01Brad, first thoughts. What do you think of this?
- 29:07I like it. Like I really like it.
- 29:10I think it's it's done exactly what it intended to do and I
- 29:15love the fact that what it intended to do was to piss off
- 29:19Houston. It's I think you know what,
- 29:23let's we'll touch on that shortly.
- 29:25Let's just look at it at face value.
- 29:27First of all, I think the the logo, first of all, is solid.
- 29:33You know, it's got, it's still got that sort of Titans esque to
- 29:38it. They've got rid of the stupid
- 29:40flames coming out of it like which was random as hell.
- 29:44I don't know what flames have got to do with Titans.
- 29:47Maybe that's just my naivety, but I think it's a really bold
- 29:53logo. And then I think the colours,
- 29:57and we'll not touch on the oil as just yet, but I think the
- 29:59colours are really, really effective.
- 30:02That little sky blue has taken that sort of primary colour.
- 30:06So it used to be their primary colour, used to be the more
- 30:09Navy, the darker blue. And then they had the sky blue I
- 30:13think was secondary and the red was in there as well.
- 30:16But they've shifted that around. So the Navy blue has taken a
- 30:18real back seat and I think that's sky blue and the red and
- 30:21the white. It's just it is a really
- 30:24attractive kit and it's a really attractive rebrand and on face
- 30:29value I really like it. Yeah, I I love it.
- 30:36I'm not real it yet. I think it's it's really nice.
- 30:39I think it's it's that I think that that that pastly kind of
- 30:42blue that stands out here is is great.
- 30:44But yeah, I agree with everything he says.
- 30:46The new look of the logo, the new look of the kit, It looks it
- 30:49looks fine. I mean, don't get me wrong,
- 30:51pictures always look great, you know, I mean, pictures always
- 30:56look as they are, but it's it's what's it called?
- 31:02Like it's, it's one of them for me.
- 31:04I just, I just think it looks nice, Like it looks, it looks
- 31:08good. I think it's going to look good.
- 31:09I always look on TV. We'll see.
- 31:12But yeah, should we get into the power and.
- 31:15We've seen it. We've seen it on TV though,
- 31:17aren't we? Have we?
- 31:22Like, come on, let's let's not get into these power rankings
- 31:25like just yet. Like I'm interested where you
- 31:28stand and, and research Carl, please chime up in the
- 31:31background and we'll share your views on this one.
- 31:35What's your view? Because right, let's just cut to
- 31:37the chase. It's it's Houston Oilers.
- 31:40Like that's what they've gone back to.
- 31:42They've gone to Houston Oilers colours like through and
- 31:44through. The logo isn't too dissimilar.
- 31:48Like it's Houston Oilers now. There's two points of view here
- 31:52and I'm not going to give my opinion.
- 31:54I'm interested what you and Carl think.
- 31:56There's two points of view. So just a bit of history lesson
- 32:00for those that don't know, Houston Oilers were a team, they
- 32:04relocated to Tennessee, I think was it late 90s, early 90s, I
- 32:10can't remember the exact year, and became the Tennessee Oilers
- 32:16for a very, very short amount of time and then rebranded to the
- 32:21Tennessee Titans. Now, what you then got in this
- 32:26period of time is a new franchise, the Houston Texans,
- 32:30as you know now. And what you've probably seen
- 32:34over the last couple of years is the Houston Texans wearing the
- 32:40Oilers uniforms or at least their colours and things like
- 32:44that. Which is interesting because
- 32:52technically what is now the Tennessee Titans have the rights
- 32:56to that branding and the colours and stuff like that.
- 33:00But then the big argument is that basically kind of like what
- 33:02the Browns did and up to left and start the Baltimore Ravens,
- 33:06However, Cleveland owned the rights to the Browns.
- 33:12And this is the difference. Houston didn't own the rights to
- 33:16the Oilers and the colours and stuff like that.
- 33:18That was with the ownership. And I only learned that this
- 33:21week. I'd read about it and I've heard
- 33:23it on another pod as well. And I think it's, I think
- 33:27personally these last two years, Houston have wore these colours
- 33:31and this is Tennessee basically saying, no Sodja, these are our
- 33:35colours. This is our branding, this is
- 33:36our history. So we're going to make this our
- 33:39primary uniform and if you now wear it, you're just going to
- 33:43look like an idiot because you're just wearing our colours.
- 33:47Yeah, I like, yeah, I, I, I love, I love the, I love the,
- 33:53the shit housing behind it and all the politics behind it is,
- 33:56is what I love. And, and when we did it was
- 34:00Super Bowl, Super Bowl quiz I was looking for.
- 34:04I'd say we're doing the quiz. I'm doing the picture round.
- 34:06And I initially put the the old Oilers logo on there and someone
- 34:11actually came back to a pre proofread and it said said what
- 34:16what name do you take for this? Because it could be one of three
- 34:17names realistically. And I'm like, yeah, it's a very
- 34:20good point on that. But when when I say like, I'm
- 34:23I'm excited to see it on TV. The quality of cameras, both
- 34:27photo and film, have kind of progressed so much over the
- 34:31years. I look at them pictures that's
- 34:33on our screen right now and it looks just great.
- 34:38But then there's also bean kits that in the past, like, you
- 34:43know, the rivalry kits and the third kits and things like that
- 34:45where I've seen the pictures and have looked absolutely fire.
- 34:48And then you watch on TV and it's be like, yeah, all right.
- 34:51I obviously so much better on picture because they've gone to
- 34:54a photo shoot. But yeah, it's it, it's one of
- 34:59them. I'm just looking.
- 34:59I'm just looking forward to to to see in it.
- 35:02Oh God, there's someone knocking.
- 35:04You know what? You know what I like is that
- 35:06Callum's in the the comments on our little chat, our product
- 35:09like, you know, show chat and I'm going to quote in here
- 35:14right. I'm just going to remind
- 35:15everyone that he's. A big Steelers fan?
- 35:18Yeah, yeah. I don't like the logo, too
- 35:21basic, maybe would have looked better with red stars.
- 35:26Cal The Steelers logo is a circle with three stars.
- 35:32And This is why. Hello.
- 35:33Microphone with three stars. Like, come on, man.
- 35:37Yeah, I never said I like the Steelers logo.
- 35:40Fair play. I'm sure, I'm sure that's why I
- 35:44was looking away. Then a minute ago I was trying
- 35:46to trying to find it. I'm sure you were talking about
- 35:49the whole kind of Tennessee owning the rights, not Houston
- 35:53owning the rights. I'm sure the the the Titans
- 35:56played against the Texans in throwback jerseys at one point
- 36:01and they went in the Oilers jerseys and they were like the
- 36:04biggest kind of walk in there. And I'm sure that again, I could
- 36:08be, could be completely wrong here.
- 36:09Like they they walked in at the Texans ground and were like,
- 36:13yeah, look, we're wearing. Look at this.
- 36:15No, it was the other. Was it not the other way?
- 36:17Was it not the Texans that wore Oilers colours?
- 36:22I can't remember. I just, I just remember it being
- 36:25one of the way around. And like were you saying that
- 36:29I'd even think about the Ode to the Oilers with the kind of
- 36:32pastaly colours? I just looked at the colours and
- 36:34just liked it. I didn't even think of kind of
- 36:35that kind of that link to it, but it it would.
- 36:39I just love that kind of corporate shit house like it's
- 36:44I, I I'm all for it. I'm all all for it.
- 36:48But yeah, I I'm a big fan. I'm a big fan.
- 36:52Anything that you no. No, it was.
- 36:54It was Tennessee. No, it was Tennessee.
- 36:56I'm just looking now. Apologies.
- 36:58It was Tennessee. And they wore the Oilers jerseys
- 37:00in Houston. Yeah, like although Houston have
- 37:04played. Houston have also played though
- 37:08in the sort of Oilers throwback sort of style unis.
- 37:13They've just not. They had the Oil as branding.
- 37:16Right. So it's kind of like it's a bit
- 37:18of a back and forth. And this I think is ultimate
- 37:20shout out, sorry, because it's just like, yeah, well, it's now
- 37:22our primary uniform. So what you're going to?
- 37:24Do Yeah, I, I absolutely love it.
- 37:27I absolutely love it. But Speaking of uniforms, we do
- 37:31some power rankings. So Brad, you're going to take
- 37:33the lead on this. Explain what the power rankings
- 37:35are, how we've done these power rankings, and you let me know
- 37:39when you want them on the screen.
- 37:42Yeah, so we were talking about the rebranding and it was like,
- 37:48you know what, let's just have a little look at just uniforms in
- 37:51general. Let's do our very, very first
- 37:54power rankings and let's not look at teams and the quality of
- 37:56teams follow up. Let's just look at the
- 37:58aesthetics of teams. So what we've done between the
- 38:02three of us is so that's me, Zach and Research Cal.
- 38:07We have all privately, separately, non sort of
- 38:11discussion based, ranked from 32 to #1 home uniforms of every NFL
- 38:20team. So no throwbacks, no away
- 38:24uniforms, not just looking at home jerseys.
- 38:26We have looked at the entire sort of standard home uniform
- 38:31for every single team. So I'm currently wearing the
- 38:35nicest jersey in NFL, maybe the second nicest jersey in NFL, but
- 38:40it's a throwback so that don't count.
- 38:43So we've looked at the home uniforms and we've ranked them
- 38:4732 to #1. We've then done some really
- 38:50wonderfully difficult maths and averaged 3 numbers, but it did
- 38:58actually kick out. And what's impressive is when
- 39:00you look at our individual rankings, they were all over the
- 39:03place, but it kicked out quite a lot of ties.
- 39:05So where there is a tie, we've ranked them higher based on the
- 39:10highest ranking that someone gave them.
- 39:13So let's just say hypothetically, 3029 and 28 were
- 39:17a tie, but Zach ranked #28 first.
- 39:23That's the reason they're the highest ranked.
- 39:27So we've got our rankings. We're going to approach them in
- 39:33groups of eight. So for those mathematicians out
- 39:35there, yes, that's four groups of eight.
- 39:37Well done. And we'll start with the worst
- 39:42eight, and we'll work our way up to the best 8.
- 39:45And I know this is contentious. So like, please, please, please
- 39:50get stuck into the comments. Like hit us up on YouTube,
- 39:54Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Twitter, Instagram, whatever.
- 39:59They are all at ABNF Pod. And why don't you share us your
- 40:04rankings or share us your top 10, whatever you want.
- 40:07But would love to see where you fit against us because just
- 40:11looking at our rankings they are absolutely all over the place.
- 40:15They are, yeah. I so I, I, this was a lot
- 40:19harder, by the way, than I thought it was going to be.
- 40:20I remember going through this list, I'm thinking, Oh my God.
- 40:23Like I had, I had like I had like 5 teams at 32A.
- 40:27Genuinely, I had five teams, the worst with the, with the worst
- 40:30kind of uniform. But going through it, it was
- 40:32great. And I've not looked at anybody
- 40:34else's right. And now, did you?
- 40:36Start worst? Did you start at the worst or
- 40:39did you start at the best? Worst to best and I went, I got
- 40:41to, I got to around like I got around 20 and then I like right,
- 40:46I know my top 10, but I don't know my top 10 in order.
- 40:48So I'm going to put my numbers in the top ten just then they're
- 40:50out of the way. And then I'd gone I'd genuinely
- 40:53I'd, I thought I'd finished the least, I'd run out of numbers by
- 40:554 spaces. So I'd done like three of them
- 40:58the same, the same number or something.
- 41:00So yeah, it took me a little while, but shall I get the 1st 8
- 41:03on screen? You want to get the 1st 8 on
- 41:05screen ready for. That yeah, let's fire them up.
- 41:08Bosh, there they go. The first eight are on screen
- 41:11now. Well, OK, that's so at 32, we've
- 41:20got down as the Arizona Cardinals.
- 41:22I don't know if I agree with that one, but OK.
- 41:25Well, yeah. How do I go through, George?
- 41:30Do you want to list out all the all the 8 back back-to-back and
- 41:32then finish strikeouts? Yeah, yeah, let's go.
- 41:35So Arizona Cardinals at 32. We've got Cleveland Browns at
- 41:3931, the Falcons at 30, New York Giants at 29, Washington
- 41:48Commanders 28, Houston Texans 27, Indianapolis Colts at 26 and
- 41:54Carolina Panthers at 25. Anything you hit on the money
- 42:01'cause I had a couple. On the money, no.
- 42:07Where's Carolina? No, a couple out.
- 42:10Just just a quick one. Houston Texans 27 is a war crime
- 42:16and Atlanta Falcons at 30 is also a war crime.
- 42:19Everything else I was roughly around that kind of ish ballpark
- 42:25ish. But yeah, I had two teams on
- 42:29wire. Both me and Cal had Falcons at
- 42:3431 and they came out of 30 because you, Zach, had them at
- 42:3912. Yeah, because that's a real nice
- 42:42uniform. Well, yeah, it's a real nice
- 42:46uniform. Yeah, I'm all for that that's
- 42:49crazy. I but yeah, I've got my reasons
- 42:52behind why it was was I don't think I don't think it's a 12th
- 42:57high 12th nicest uniform. I just couldn't put 4 uniforms
- 43:01at 32, like, you know what I mean?
- 43:04There's it's, it's just the nice of a basic.
- 43:08It's a lot nicer than some of the real bad ones.
- 43:10And there's some real, real bad ones.
- 43:14So yeah, I mean, the rest of them though, I went too far off.
- 43:17I don't think I went. I went.
- 43:19I went too far off. Just I want to like, before we
- 43:23get any further into these power rankings, I want to highlight
- 43:26that Zach recently told me and some friends that he was wearing
- 43:31a black and green shirt. And.
- 43:36There was worry because there was worry because someone else
- 43:40had also planned to wear a black and green shirt in the same
- 43:44brand and it was described the same and Zach pulled this said
- 43:49black and green shirt out. What colour was it, Zach?
- 43:54Black and yellow, I think, well, I'm coloured blind, right?
- 43:57I'm coloured blind, right? So my wife, I was just mental
- 44:01with him because I, I look at dressed in dark a lot of time.
- 44:04I'm colour blind. I thought it were black and
- 44:06green. There were two other people
- 44:07actually that that was with us at the time that had, that had
- 44:10the, the similar shirts and we were all a bit worried that we
- 44:13were the same. I pulled it out.
- 44:14But they described the colours correct.
- 44:17Yeah, I mean I pulled it out and would have one of his friends
- 44:20just went why did we ever listen to the colour blind guy?
- 44:23So, yeah, OK, well, I, yeah, look, but I, I mean, I know, I
- 44:28know they're the colours of, of somewhat around the area, but
- 44:32yeah, I just, I'd, yeah, I agree with most of this list so far.
- 44:37Like there's two on there that I would personally take a bit
- 44:39higher and I but I, I do like AI like a black jersey, you see.
- 44:43So that's why they were kind of pushable a bit higher for me.
- 44:46Do you? Agree with that.
- 44:47I mean, yeah, I, I mean, I'm just taking bragging rights
- 44:51here. I hit Arizona Cardinals on 32, I
- 44:55hit Houston Texans 1 of yours on 27, and I hit Colts on 26 as
- 45:02well, so I'm quite happy with that.
- 45:04I believe you had. Cardinal it's just boring.
- 45:09Red is boring, man. Red is boring and This is why if
- 45:13you look at all mine around 24, they're all the red ones.
- 45:16That's why I couldn't put 3 or 4 at the same rank, because I put
- 45:20them all up, all of the red ones together.
- 45:23At least Browns have like took a punt and they're like, you know
- 45:26what, we're going to have poo brown, bright orange and white.
- 45:29Like at least have done something with it.
- 45:32So bad. Yeah, no.
- 45:35Yeah, come on, let's go on to the next date.
- 45:38Next day, so we've got 24 is the Pittsburgh Steelers, 23 is the
- 45:42Chicago Bears, 22 Buffalo Bills. 21 is the Kansas City Chiefs, 20
- 45:47is a Jacksonville Jaguars, 19 is Minnesota Vikings war crime, 18
- 45:52is New York, NY the New England Patriots, and 17 is the Miami
- 45:56Dolphins. I am way out on all of these.
- 46:00Just going to say that now because I that is this ludicrous
- 46:04list. Just putting this out there.
- 46:07I don't agree with this at all over there.
- 46:09I can see the fact that you've got dolphins at 4:00.
- 46:13It's so nice. They've come in at 17 and I had
- 46:17them 16 and I actually, I actually pre warned Cal before
- 46:21we did this. I like don't be biassed.
- 46:23Please don't be biassed. And that's because I probably
- 46:28agree with you. I love the Dolphins jersey.
- 46:30I love the the shade of Aqua. I love it's simplicity.
- 46:36If you'd have if we'd have been looking at just best kits of
- 46:39each team, if the IT was the Aqua throwback of Dolphins, it'd
- 46:42have been #1 because it's stunning, yeah.
- 46:46But I just, I don't know. I don't know if it's like almost
- 46:49a negative bias against myself with this one, but.
- 46:52Yeah, I think you've tried something for that.
- 46:55Yeah, I really like it. And you'll you'll when we get to
- 46:57the top, the top the last last HSA, you'll see that my top A
- 47:04have one thing in common with it.
- 47:07And I I I rate that Dolphins jersey.
- 47:09I really do. The Pittsburgh Steelers won
- 47:11being what do we get that at 24? I had that at 26.
- 47:15I think 26 is lucky. I think he's a real bad jersey.
- 47:18I'm not going to lie to you. The Chicago Bears were that's
- 47:21awful. Callum had that at 14.
- 47:25How on earth is is that 14th? It is horrendous.
- 47:30Like just not not for me on that.
- 47:37I really struggled. I really struggle with the
- 47:39bears. Like I think they were one that
- 47:42I I kept moving up and down and I just couldn't quite get them.
- 47:48Like I don't think it's little things like that.
- 47:51The shade of Navy, if you call it Navy, I don't know what
- 47:55they'll call it, but if you call it that and then I almost feel
- 47:59like the stripes are like almost too small.
- 48:03I just, I, I really struggled with them.
- 48:07And then the random numbers in the stripes and I'm sure they
- 48:10mean something, but they just look poorly placed.
- 48:13I think they could be somewhere else.
- 48:15Just going back to my point of like not being biassed.
- 48:19I just had a little glance then while you were talking.
- 48:22Now on the screen right now, we're all three of our teams.
- 48:26So Steelers, Patriots and Dolphins.
- 48:29Put the Dolphins there at the top.
- 48:31However, what's really, really interesting is I said don't be
- 48:35biassed. Don't be biassed.
- 48:36SoCal put Pittsburgh Steelers 16th, right?
- 48:41That's bang in the middle of the 32.
- 48:44Yeah. I put the Dolphins 16th bang in
- 48:49the middle of the 32. And you put the.
- 48:52And you put the Patriots just just one higher at 15th, pretty
- 48:56much bang in the middle of the 32.
- 48:59It's almost like we were all actively trying not to be like
- 49:03twats about it. And just you might need to bleep
- 49:06that one out and post. I'm sorry but.
- 49:09I don't mind it. I don't I don't mind the
- 49:11Patriots jersey, if I'm going to be honest with you, it's the
- 49:13it's not my favourite. Like I there's much better ones
- 49:17out there for me, like an interesting one for anything
- 49:20else is is the Jacksonville when I had Jacksonville 7.
- 49:23Now look, I am I, I, Jacksonville went at 7:00
- 49:29because I couldn't justify moving anybody below them up, if
- 49:34that makes sense. Like I, I don't think that the
- 49:387th best one, but I, the ones below it, I couldn't justify
- 49:45bringing them up, if that makes sense.
- 49:47But I don't mind the look of the jersey.
- 49:50I think it's quite a clean and nice jersey.
- 49:54I think, I think it screams international game, which I
- 49:59automatically look and just get memories from it.
- 50:02And when we say, like we, we said, don't be biassed about our
- 50:06team's jersey, which is fine and we're looking on pure looks.
- 50:10But like at the same time, when I look at a jersey, I kind of
- 50:12get certain jerseys like scream out to me gig memories.
- 50:16And I don't know what it is, but it makes me like the jersey a
- 50:18little bit more. And that Jags jersey, because I
- 50:19think we've seen the Jags so many times down London.
- 50:22It just gives me like and I just quite I quite I quite like it on
- 50:26that. Now there's one here that I do
- 50:28want to touch on and that's the Minnesota Vikings.
- 50:34I love this team. I love this jersey, but I really
- 50:38do. And I do think that is the sick
- 50:40best jersey in the NFL. You guys are going 23 and 24.
- 50:44Sweet Jesus. I can tell you exactly why.
- 50:48So you're going to see this point I'm making right now is
- 50:52also the exact same point I'm going to make in about two
- 50:55slides. It's just an awful shade of
- 50:58purple. Like, I don't hate the jersey.
- 51:03I don't hate the styling on the sleeves.
- 51:06I don't hate the general uniform.
- 51:09The horns on the helmets I'm not a massive fan of.
- 51:13I get why, but I think this is when we're looking at the whole
- 51:16uniform here. I I love, I love the helmet, but
- 51:21the graphic on the helmet, I think it just looks tacky.
- 51:25Like, I get why they've got it. It's Viking horns.
- 51:27Yeah, fine. But I think it looks crap.
- 51:30And I think the shade of purple is just so like primary.
- 51:35School. I I just don't.
- 51:37I'm not a fan of it at all. I.
- 51:39Think another team have done purple very very very well.
- 51:44Yeah, and I agree and I agree. I think we're going to get into
- 51:46that very soon with that team and I agree.
- 51:47But I I take the horn of the helm and that helmet is perfect.
- 51:50I love that. I love it.
- 51:51And I do like I do like that shade of purple.
- 51:54I think that shade of purple is quite nice and vibrant.
- 51:56And I think we're going to get into it from there as we want to
- 51:59the next slideshow is have a look at the the the next set
- 52:02from here. So we have now the 16 down to 9,
- 52:06Brad, if you want to take them away, 16 down to 9.
- 52:09Yep. So we've got the newly rebranded
- 52:11and newly designed Tennessee Titans, which I think we'll
- 52:14probably come straight back to. We've got the Seahawks at 15,
- 52:20the Rams at 14. This is one we definitely need
- 52:24to look at when we look at the rankings across the three.
- 52:27The New York Jets at 13, probably another one to talk
- 52:30about. San Francisco at 12, Dallas at
- 52:3511, the Philadelphia Eagles at 10 and the Bengals at 9:00.
- 52:42So for anyone that's watching this now will have just seen my
- 52:45facial reaction, I think that my face said everything from the 16
- 52:49to 9 because there is some I am seeing these by the way, I've
- 52:52seen everybody's individual voting's by our submissions for
- 52:57the first time right now and there is some diabolical takes
- 53:01on this absolutely diabolical take.
- 53:04Let's go to the first diabolical take of the evening.
- 53:07Tennessee Titans. We've just gone about how nice
- 53:10this uniform is, right? You've voted it 21st What?
- 53:19I just struggle. I just struggle.
- 53:21And if you look at if I was to share my rankings, which
- 53:24actually might be nice for socials, actually maybe we
- 53:27should do that. Carl.
- 53:27We'll we'll share our individual rankings after this on socials.
- 53:33But for me, I just struggle with blue and red jerseys.
- 53:39They they just bore me a little bit.
- 53:43However, I do like, I really like the Titans jersey in
- 53:48uniform as a whole. I just, like you said in your
- 53:51own sort of spiel and need to see it on TV.
- 53:54Yeah, I need to see it. I do like it.
- 53:58It's still blue, red and white. I find it a bit boring.
- 54:01If you look at my rankings, you'll see the Patriots, the
- 54:03Bills, the Titans, Texans, all those teams, Blue, red, white,
- 54:09so American. I just find it a little bit
- 54:13boring. I'm not against any of them,
- 54:16like I way prefer Patriots jerseys now than their ones
- 54:19previously. They're like 3 times as nice for
- 54:23example. But I just find that colour
- 54:25combo a little bit boring and and that's all it is.
- 54:28It's nothing personal. I think the good jerseys, it's
- 54:30just I find that mix a bit boring.
- 54:32Yeah. So I had this.
- 54:33I had this done at 2:00. I love it.
- 54:36I genuinely, genuinely on on paper from what I've seen so
- 54:39far, and that's the only taken, that's the only taken I can get
- 54:42from it is what I've seen so far.
- 54:43I absolutely love it. It is right on my street.
- 54:46The vibrancy of it is great. I agree.
- 54:48I hate standard blue kits. That's where we look at mine
- 54:51like Indianapolis is down the bottom end.
- 54:53The red kits are like the tamper and stuff.
- 54:55They're all dancing over at the bottom end.
- 54:56I don't like just a standard. We're going to kind of go back
- 55:00and me and word them in here because I'm going to say I don't
- 55:03like a standard 1 tone kit, if that makes sense, like as in
- 55:08block colour kit, but I like a vibrant block colour kit.
- 55:12That Reds just don't do it for me, like the dark Blues.
- 55:14Don't know if the pay if the pay if we're ranking the the
- 55:16patriots uniform on the one previous to what it is now, it'd
- 55:19have been 28. It weren't nice.
- 55:22It's not it weren't like they've I agree with you.
- 55:24They've gone definitely. I probably ranked it a little
- 55:26bit higher than what it were because I couldn't just find
- 55:28moving people up. But like Tennessee one for me.
- 55:31I, I, I think that's absolutely diabolical.
- 55:34Like you are two great 20s there.
- 55:36Carl's gone 26 as well. That's diabolical.
- 55:40Well, I look at some others here.
- 55:43Another big one is number 13, The Jets right seven and four
- 55:49from U2. I ran this at 31 because this is
- 55:52down there with this is down right right down the bottom end
- 55:55for me. Is this no bueno?
- 55:58Like not for me, just like it's just just a shit green, isn't
- 56:01it? Like.
- 56:03No beautiful shade of green. It's a beautiful shade of green.
- 56:09I think what I love about this kit and this uniform as a whole,
- 56:13it's the simplicity. I love the lids.
- 56:16The helmets are stunning. Like genuinely think they're
- 56:20really, really nice. And how many green kits?
- 56:24Excuse me, how many properly green kits do you have in the
- 56:28league? Not many.
- 56:30So when I'm talking about the boring Blues, like there's a
- 56:33excuse me, there's a million Blues.
- 56:37Like whether it's shades of Blues, aquas, teals, Blues,
- 56:40whatever, I'm including the Dolphins in there.
- 56:42There's a million blue kits and I think, you know, one or two
- 56:46green kits is lovely and I think it's such a nice shade that
- 56:52Gotham green within the bold white.
- 56:55I just think it's lovely. And I'm quoting research car
- 56:58here and 100% agree. It's the best thing about The
- 57:02Jets as a franchise. The shade, it's just, it's not a
- 57:06nice, it's not a nice kit for me.
- 57:08It doesn't do anything for me in any way, shape or form.
- 57:11It is not the one from me there. I must admit, I think the
- 57:14Philadelphia Eagles Green is far better than it.
- 57:18Just a just a nice, a nicer shade for me.
- 57:21I think one of the closest ones for us, he's the Dallas Cowboys
- 57:26where I've gone 17, you've got 15 and research cow's got 9 on
- 57:30that. That is a mid mid park.
- 57:32It's not not for me personally. Bengals though, on the other
- 57:37hand, so I had the Bengals at 10, research cow at six, which
- 57:42is I think it's a bit high. But yeah, you had it that 25.
- 57:45I quite like that. I think the Bengals uniform as a
- 57:47whole is quite nice Me. But again, I'm going off of a
- 57:54bit, a bit sentimentally as such.
- 57:57But then again, I'm going because I like it because of my
- 58:01background. Do you know what I'm saying?
- 58:05Like because of the rugby league I think makes me makes me
- 58:09automatically like it. I just find it.
- 58:12I find it so tacky and cheesy. It's like, I don't know, it's
- 58:18just that they're like the stripes that aren't really
- 58:21stripes and they've got them on the lid.
- 58:23I just find it so cheesy. But you think about it this way,
- 58:27right? The one of the only teams that
- 58:29actually incorporate the name to the kit, like full kit.
- 58:34That is not just hell, but obviously the eagles have got
- 58:36eagles on the on the on the arm and wings on their their army.
- 58:38They actually incorporate in the embrace and they do for all of
- 58:41the kits. And I know we're only doing home
- 58:42kit, but they do for all. I just like it.
- 58:44I mean, I just think, I think, I think it's a real nice mix of
- 58:47old school and new school put together and I think I think
- 58:50they just do it well personally. You know what if it was their
- 58:54their ice, do they call them Ice White or Snow White?
- 58:58That's the one white. Out I must admit, like despite
- 59:02the stripes and stuff, it is stunning.
- 59:05I do like the all white Bengals kit.
- 59:08I do that, the orange and the white and the black stripes and
- 59:11stuff. I don't know, I just find it.
- 59:13I just find it a little bit cheesy, maybe 20 fives harsh.
- 59:16I don't know. I just and you write in what
- 59:18you're saying. I appreciate the fact that
- 59:20they're taking on the branding because it's quite easy to do,
- 59:23isn't it? But I'm just not I don't know,
- 59:28it's just never been worn for me.
- 59:29The the white out kit is is stunning because all white is
- 59:33stunning, to be fair, but it's it's just not for me.
- 59:38Like I don't know. It's interesting that you know,
- 59:41you've got them really high and actually the last two so Eagles
- 59:45and Bengals that you had pretty much on the money just the wrong
- 59:48way around, didn't you? As an.
- 59:49Average. Yeah, yeah, it's, it's, but hey,
- 59:52look, you know, it's all that a personal preference.
- 59:54What I'm excited for is the top 8.
- 59:56So it's getting to the top 8. So have a look at these and see
- 59:59where, where, where we where we went from these.
- 1:00:01So over to you mate. I'll let you have these top
- 1:00:04eight, what we got. So we've got the Las Vegas
- 1:00:09Raiders at 8. We've got the Green Bay Packers
- 1:00:13at 7. You've had a stinker there on
- 1:00:15them, too, Zach. You've got the Denver Broncos at
- 1:00:19six. Wow, Cal, the Detroit Lions at
- 1:00:245, which I think Callum has saw that with the rest of us.
- 1:00:31I mean, it'd be easy to do. No one knows he is because you
- 1:00:33get someone else in and just call him.
- 1:00:35Research Cal. Lions.
- 1:00:37Wow. The New Orleans Saints at 4,
- 1:00:43Tampa Bay Buccaneers at three. Got that one on the money and
- 1:00:47then you've got the Ravens at 2 and the Chargers at #1.
- 1:00:55Can we just, can we just rewind about 5 minutes and you said
- 1:01:03don't like the standard red coloured uniforms, right?
- 1:01:08Blue coloured uniforms are just a bit meth for me.
- 1:01:11And you have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ranked at 3:00.
- 1:01:15Give it a rest. It's not because it's not just,
- 1:01:17it's not a boring red and it's not with like and it's not with
- 1:01:22blue or white. It's like a really nice shade of
- 1:01:27red with that sort of pewter grey.
- 1:01:31It's gorgeous. It's the combo, it's the full
- 1:01:34uniform, that pewter with the the sort of burgundy red.
- 1:01:38It's stunning. It's the package and it's so
- 1:01:42simple. And it's it's it's it's another
- 1:01:46word beginning with S is what it is, right.
- 1:01:48No, they I don't it's not the bottom four.
- 1:01:51I know that, but he's definitely not he's the fact that he's in
- 1:01:55top ten. He's diabolic.
- 1:01:58And another one, the Green Bay Packers.
- 1:02:00That being in top 10, Jesus by what on earth?
- 1:02:05No, not for I had them down at 22.
- 1:02:08I'm not going to lie to you. That is a that is a a shot from
- 1:02:11me there. But no, I'm not, I'm not a big
- 1:02:14lover of the old. I'm, I'm not not a big lover of
- 1:02:18that. The reason there is actually
- 1:02:21these top 8 has got some wild numbers in from all three of us
- 1:02:26here. So obviously, like you, you went
- 1:02:28with the bombing car with #5 for the Buccaneers as well, but you
- 1:02:31went for three for the Buccaneers there, the Broncos,
- 1:02:34right? If I were touching the Broncos
- 1:02:35in a second, I want to talk the Detroit Lions.
- 1:02:40How have they made it above the Broncos for one?
- 1:02:44And #5 I'll tell you how, because researcher Cal has put
- 1:02:48them at #2 on his rankings. What on earth?
- 1:02:53It's just ludicrous 2. It's absolute madness.
- 1:03:02They are boring, like a really boring shade of like, I don't
- 1:03:09know, even like skyish blue. It's not even sky blue.
- 1:03:12It's skyish blue with that like, oh, Honolulu blue now Honolulu
- 1:03:17blue. Like Honolulu blue.
- 1:03:20You're from Detroit. Yeah.
- 1:03:22Why are you calling it Honolulu Blue?
- 1:03:25Exactly. Like, come on.
- 1:03:29It's ridiculous. Yeah, that's that.
- 1:03:32I mean, I know it's each the road itself, Person Jones, but
- 1:03:35guys, let us know in the comments right now.
- 1:03:37It's research Carl Wright. He's the Detroit Lions.
- 1:03:40I mean, we've got we've got we've we've brought the average
- 1:03:43down there, Brad, to five, but research Carl's got it at 2.
- 1:03:47And I think that's absolutely shocking for me.
- 1:03:50No going to go on, sorry. Let's yeah, let's just show if
- 1:03:56it's alright with you. Let's just touch on, well,
- 1:03:59actually, I'm going to make one bragging right here, by the way.
- 1:04:02The top 8 by the way. Yeah.
- 1:04:04All the teams that I voted in the top 8 except one are in the
- 1:04:08top 8. Just saying.
- 1:04:10But swiftly moving on. Shall we touch on each of our
- 1:04:15number one votes? Yes, yes.
- 1:04:18Do you want to go first or do you want me to go first?
- 1:04:22I'll go first. I'll gladly go first.
- 1:04:24So I referred to it earlier when we're talking about the Vikings.
- 1:04:28I talked about a rubbish shade of purple and I did flip.
- 1:04:34I won't lie, I do sort of like a few in the mix.
- 1:04:38And then I narrowed it down and I think I had my top 2 the other
- 1:04:44way around originally. So my top 2 are the Ravens and
- 1:04:49the Chargers that I put in the end.
- 1:04:52Number one is the Ravens and I think it's just because they
- 1:04:58have a really simple kit, but I love the different elements of
- 1:05:04it. I love the shade of purple.
- 1:05:07I love black, like Black's great.
- 1:05:09So and, and that black goes perfectly with that shade of
- 1:05:14purple, I think. I think their Raven's logo on
- 1:05:18the helmet is simple and it's solid, but I love that they've
- 1:05:24got the shield on the sleeve. I just like that they've got all
- 1:05:28these different little elements that just naturally complement
- 1:05:33each other. And even even their away and
- 1:05:37their third kit, all are stunning.
- 1:05:40All really, really well done, really simply done.
- 1:05:43But I think the way they do it is just really, really
- 1:05:46effective. I fully agree with you.
- 1:05:51Lit up until this past probably 2 years, the the Ravens have
- 1:05:56been my number one, always be my number one with like just not
- 1:05:59just their jersey design, their merch.
- 1:06:02I love that. I love purple's one of my
- 1:06:04favourite colours. I absolutely love it.
- 1:06:07I think it's yeah. And I got a three, I got a
- 1:06:12three, and it was #2 up until like that Titans jersey coming
- 1:06:16out and my number one because of just the revamp of kind of the
- 1:06:20vibrantness of it, which we'll get into in a second as taken
- 1:06:23that top spot. But I, but I mean, for me, I
- 1:06:25look at the Ravens uniform, I see the shield and I don't know
- 1:06:28why, but in me head, I just hit Ravenclaw from Harry Potter
- 1:06:31every single time I see that shield.
- 1:06:32Don't know why I do, but I just didn't.
- 1:06:34But like I, I genuinely, genuinely do.
- 1:06:38I could have had any of my top three at #1 easily.
- 1:06:42And if you've asked this two years ago, the Ravens would have
- 1:06:45been the number one. I really, I'm happy at top two.
- 1:06:50I really am going to jump into mine now.
- 1:06:53And I got the Denver Broncos. They're purely I orange is my
- 1:06:57favourite colour. I love the orange.
- 1:06:59I love our fibre and the oranges I love.
- 1:07:02I just like the the the kind of how much it pops and I think
- 1:07:05they're starting to wear it well recently, and I could be
- 1:07:08completely wrong here much with my eyes changing on just the
- 1:07:10fact I've got a better TV at home now.
- 1:07:12But like, five years ago, the orange seemed to be a bit darker
- 1:07:16and a bit more dull. And now for some reason, it
- 1:07:19just, it just feels more like, like an actual orange.
- 1:07:23Like, I don't know, Like when you get a kind of phantom in
- 1:07:25Spain in your point out in your glasses, that orange in your
- 1:07:27cup. And you're like, now I know what
- 1:07:29I'm drinking, you know, I love it.
- 1:07:30It just pops to me really nice. And yeah, I'd be dead happy to
- 1:07:35kind of represent one of them knocking about.
- 1:07:37I'm not going to lie to you for sure.
- 1:07:41Yeah, no, I agree. I think it's a really solid
- 1:07:44uniform. And I mean, I had it at 8:00,
- 1:07:46but I'll be honest, like my top sort of three to sort of seven
- 1:07:53or eight. God, it sounds like you're in a
- 1:07:54hurricane, mate. 3 to sort of seven or eight.
- 1:07:58I think I moved around about 3 or 4 times.
- 1:08:02I think Broncos have been up at like 3 down to 9th up to 4th.
- 1:08:07That light. It was a tough one, to be fair.
- 1:08:09And I think they really love uniforms.
- 1:08:12Callum's question in the shade of blue, he said Navy blue.
- 1:08:16Orange doesn't go in Navy blue. I mean, first of all, massively
- 1:08:19disagree. But he prefers the bright blue.
- 1:08:23That's fair. That's a fair comment.
- 1:08:27But so Callum's number one. So just before we get into
- 1:08:30Callum's one, just just for reference here, you had Ravens
- 1:08:33at one, item at three, you had Broncos 8 item at one.
- 1:08:39So the relatively close top 10, Callum had the Ravens at 20.
- 1:08:45Callum had the Broncos at 27. If people don't know Callum,
- 1:08:52they would just think that he opens his wardrobe and it's just
- 1:08:54beige. Like Jesus, I have a bit of have
- 1:09:00a bit of zass about you, dude. Like, come on, you know what?
- 1:09:04I mean, I'm not sure Callum opens his wardrobe.
- 1:09:07I'm pretty sure his mum sets out his clothes every morning on his
- 1:09:11bed. But we won't we won't share the
- 1:09:16profanities that he's sharing right now.
- 1:09:21So Callum's number one swiftly moving on, bless him is the
- 1:09:26charges and hands up item at second I think.
- 1:09:31It's. Stunning jersey he so Callum to
- 1:09:36quote, has said the bright blue and the yellow go so well.
- 1:09:40The powder blue is classic and it just fits the team and
- 1:09:43they're marketing so well when mixed with the really bright
- 1:09:47yellow. It's almost like they've tried
- 1:09:49to market. These are my words.
- 1:09:51It's almost like they've tried to market themselves as the LA
- 1:09:53Rams. But like I do agree like the the
- 1:09:59kit is lovely all all the different iterations and combos
- 1:10:03of their uniform is really lovely.
- 1:10:05To be fair, it's yeah, it's a definitely big improvement on a
- 1:10:11couple of years ago. Again, more of a Navy than that,
- 1:10:14lighter blue and it's more vibrant now.
- 1:10:18Probably goes with the personality of the team a little
- 1:10:20bit more as well. As to the old one.
- 1:10:23With Philip Rivers, but yeah, I think I think it's a solid unit
- 1:10:28uni and we all have them fairly high.
- 1:10:30You item 5, item 2 and Callum item one, which is why they've
- 1:10:34had reached out at a 2.6. So number one overall.
- 1:10:38Yeah, I I can't disagree with that.
- 1:10:41I like, I like it. I'm saying both as you were the
- 1:10:45my top five or so were just in various different orders and a
- 1:10:49couple of times. And no, I'm I dig that and I
- 1:10:53think, you know, if, if you like these lists, by the way, guys,
- 1:10:55if you want us to do power rank, anything else, like it's awake,
- 1:10:58it's third kits, alternate kits, whatever, or just a stadium that
- 1:11:01whatever you want us to do. There's no it's been fun kind of
- 1:11:04deep diving into this. And like Brad said earlier,
- 1:11:06we're going to share our results on the on a social.
- 1:11:09So please go ahead over to at ABNF pod across all your
- 1:11:13socials, get involved with them. We want to know what your power
- 1:11:16rank is out. How wrong was we or no, I was
- 1:11:21right. How wrong with them two on
- 1:11:23everything else across these. The club blind guy was right.
- 1:11:27OK, in in the jerseys. We'll go with that.
- 1:11:30But yeah, I quite like that list.
- 1:11:32I must admit it were it was it was very funny indeed.
- 1:11:36But we're going to move on if that's OK.
- 1:11:39Unless you've got anything else you would like to say regarding
- 1:11:41the uniforms I'm on. Now let's go.
- 1:11:45Perfect, right? We're going to get into our
- 1:11:47latest feature that our latest recurring feature and it's a
- 1:11:51can't speak get him off ref where we're going to talk to you
- 1:11:55all about the rugby league from this week.
- 1:11:58So if you're new to the show, every equal deep dive into I'll
- 1:12:01say deep dive. We'll just touch the surface a
- 1:12:03little bit on the the rugby league stores from this week.
- 1:12:06Me and Brad are quite big into into our rugby league and I know
- 1:12:10research Cal. I believe you'll get yourself
- 1:12:12into it now and you're starting. You know, we have to have a game
- 1:12:14together soon. Pretty cool to go to.
- 1:12:17So yeah, we we we love our rugby league.
- 1:12:19And if you don't know or you haven't experienced rugby
- 1:12:21league, I would suggest you go check it out because it's so
- 1:12:25much fun to watch. It's very underrated score.
- 1:12:27But touch on these scores this week.
- 1:12:31Wiggle and York 2322. Now this for me is the fairy
- 1:12:37tale of the making. I think York, they're they're
- 1:12:42literally 3 points, I think is away from being a top three team
- 1:12:46at moment from drop goals that they've they've missed out on
- 1:12:49this year to to to put Wigan, who are arguably the but, and
- 1:12:55I've known it's the debate. They are the best team in the
- 1:12:58Super League right now. They're the team to be.
- 1:13:00They will walk this league with their eyes closed to be a newly
- 1:13:04appointed, newly promoted team to put them to a point is
- 1:13:08unreal. Like I just just absolutely
- 1:13:15unreal. Do you do you see any of the of
- 1:13:18the rugby this weekend? By the way?
- 1:13:19I know you weren't you weren't rate cracking this weekend, were
- 1:13:22you? No, no, I've seen very little.
- 1:13:25I was wiped out for most of the weekend.
- 1:13:27Like I tried to keep a track of the scores and things and I
- 1:13:30think if I'm right for a period, York were winning.
- 1:13:33I. Think.
- 1:13:35So no, no, it's, it was a mad week last week and then sort of
- 1:13:40came down with it a bit last week.
- 1:13:41And the main thing I, I am aware of obviously is a Casper is that
- 1:13:46tragic score, which I hope we don't talk about too much.
- 1:13:49But I mean, for York to push Wigan to within a point is, is
- 1:13:53huge. It's huge for them, York for the
- 1:13:56treble. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:13:58Yeah, they'll be, it'll be, it'll be sick.
- 1:14:00I mean, like they've they've just been caught short a couple
- 1:14:02of times, but then they'll also win the game and they need to.
- 1:14:04It's so good to see that that that the camp, the mood in that
- 1:14:07camp must be absolutely fantastic.
- 1:14:09Toulouse St Ellens 3016 to Saint Ellens the game.
- 1:14:13I've got a bit of a roll of Saint Ellens now.
- 1:14:14I think the Toulouse bubble might be starting to pop now.
- 1:14:17They came out of the gun. They came out of the year
- 1:14:19starting strong. They were playing really well.
- 1:14:21I mean they put a great upgrade again against us.
- 1:14:23They've played well against Waiki as well at the start of
- 1:14:25the year. Since then, though, they've just
- 1:14:27been going downhill and I believe that this week is the
- 1:14:32the the the French Derby. They're playing Catalan this
- 1:14:34week, so that'd be a massive test for him this week as
- 1:14:36Catalan have just beaten Hulk AR 2620.
- 1:14:41So being the defending champions going into this week and that'll
- 1:14:45be an interesting game. So I think that'll really kind
- 1:14:48of show us the bar that to lose are at.
- 1:14:51I think teams are getting wise, they're keeping the half back at
- 1:14:55that full back at Bay and they've not really got much more
- 1:14:58else around to go from there. Bradford, Huddersfield, Bradford
- 1:15:02coming out 2614 against Huddersfield, Huddersfield not
- 1:15:08very good. They've just sacked the coach.
- 1:15:13They would, they, would they feel sorry for them, if I'm
- 1:15:16going to be honest with you, because it's through them as a
- 1:15:21coach. You couldn't do what we couldn't
- 1:15:22do with what's in front of you. And I just, I don't think he's
- 1:15:25been given a fair trial with the team that he's got.
- 1:15:27But they've got no money because they've got no fans coming into
- 1:15:30into the stadium. So I just don't see Huddersfield
- 1:15:32being in a very good place in the next couple of years.
- 1:15:34So I'm going to be perfectly honest with you.
- 1:15:35But yeah, 2614. A video, sorry, earlier from
- 1:15:40London, obviously it's the 30 year anniversary of Super League
- 1:15:46coming up or whenever it is. And they posted a video
- 1:15:50basically like sort of saying like, you know, like where's
- 1:15:54London basically? I mean, they've got a lot of
- 1:15:58stick on there in the replies to be fair.
- 1:16:00But there's probably an element to be said about it because
- 1:16:04London look mint and Huddersfield look tragically
- 1:16:08awful. And if you're talking about the
- 1:16:11expansion of rugby league, I hate to say this because a lot
- 1:16:15of people have said it about Cass, so I get it.
- 1:16:18But right now, at the minute over the last two or three
- 1:16:21years, he could easily say by Huddersfield and let's get
- 1:16:24someone like London in who've clearly got a new ambition under
- 1:16:28new ownership, new leadership, whatever you want to call it.
- 1:16:31It's sad for Huddersfield. Like, you know, they are a local
- 1:16:34team so it'd be a shame to see, but they're just not performing
- 1:16:38other. No, not at all.
- 1:16:40Not at all. You show like the teams like
- 1:16:42York in particular and Bradford that have come up this year
- 1:16:45that, you know, were were were the ones that, you know, we've
- 1:16:49got easy wins here. We're going to beat these.
- 1:16:51They were doing that cracking championship, the levels too,
- 1:16:55too big of a gap between the the the Super League and the
- 1:16:58Championship. And now they're coming out and
- 1:16:59they're beating teams easily comfortable the beating teams
- 1:17:01coming out of it. But you know, Wakey Lee not
- 1:17:05finishing 1814. We're getting back on a back on
- 1:17:07a stride now. Lee not looking fantastic will
- 1:17:11not touch too much on the the Castleford score because that
- 1:17:14was tragic. It was like 34 six at half time.
- 1:17:17I thought I had to text you. I was away for the weekend and I
- 1:17:20remember texting you like 30-4 six at half time.
- 1:17:22What the hell? And then it got to full time and
- 1:17:24we were like yes, not talk about this so and move Swiffer to that
- 1:17:30because that's not very good Catalan beating OK, which is
- 1:17:33touching already fantastic result for Catalan there beating
- 1:17:36the world champions. Like I said, that's a great
- 1:17:39morale boost and then FC beat in Leeds.
- 1:17:41Now that is the shock of the weekend.
- 1:17:43If you take the York result out of there, because the Leeds look
- 1:17:47great. That winger sits Silver Silvo.
- 1:17:50He's unbelievable as a player in FC haven't looked great this
- 1:17:55year, but they've come out now. And yeah, the that that's a
- 1:18:00that's a a statement to be made. Is that score in particular?
- 1:18:06So yeah, they're the results from this week.
- 1:18:08Fortunately we can't give you too much more information.
- 1:18:10I'm not going to lie to you, I missed a lot of the rugby this
- 1:18:13week as well. A bit of a boozy week.
- 1:18:15I'm not going to lie to you. I'll do better.
- 1:18:17I promise my research will be better, I promise going into the
- 1:18:20future, anything myself, but on the rugby before we move on.
- 1:18:24No, I'm, I'm looking forward to seeing the class and Bradford
- 1:18:27game on Thursday. You know, I think that's going
- 1:18:30to be a a benchmark game for us because we've had a couple of
- 1:18:33rubbish games, we had a couple of really good games.
- 1:18:36So I think that'll be a bit of a benchmark.
- 1:18:37But no, you know, a few surprise results or a few close results,
- 1:18:42but probably the way you'd expect across the board
- 1:18:44generally. Yes, Sir, Right.
- 1:18:49It's time for all other balls, right?
- 1:18:54So Brad, explain to us what is all the balls and why do we love
- 1:18:59talking about balls? Well we love talking about balls
- 1:19:05because balls are great. So all the balls is where we
- 1:19:11touch on other areas of the world of sport and that could be
- 1:19:17tennis, it could be rugby, which obviously we've got our own
- 1:19:20rugby league feature now. You name it, this is where we
- 1:19:24talk about it. And there are we have been known
- 1:19:26to not actually speak about sport.
- 1:19:29Ironically, we've not spoke about balls either, but we have
- 1:19:32spoken about over years. And so we're actually going to
- 1:19:37to start this week. We've got three of them all
- 1:19:40other balls I believe, and we'll try and keep them brief.
- 1:19:44But this year, this year, God, I do that all the.
- 1:19:49Time, really. You've not this year, this week,
- 1:19:51you know. This week.
- 1:19:53This week is actually been the Books finals.
- 1:19:58So for those who aren't aware, the books finals is basically a
- 1:20:03British American football. It's the university leagues and
- 1:20:08it's been the finals today, I believe.
- 1:20:11Yep, all day it was broadcasted on YouTube.
- 1:20:15I was. I was lucky enough to manage to
- 1:20:18watch a fair bit of it while I was part of getting ready to get
- 1:20:20loaded and stuff quickly. The the the Lancashire Rams
- 1:20:24played the Bournemouth Bobcats. Bournemouth won that 13 six
- 1:20:28Brunel Burners versus the SGS Pride.
- 1:20:31Brunel won that 2020 to 6 Durham Saints, beating the UA UW E
- 1:20:37Bullets 14 six. Now we're not going to touch too
- 1:20:41much on the game itself. It is brick ball at the end of
- 1:20:43the day. It's just University Credit
- 1:20:45where credit's due. What I do want to say is this
- 1:20:48was heavily funded by the Union Jack Classic, which which is the
- 1:20:54college game happening in the UK this year down at Wembley, and
- 1:20:59the production value on all three of these games was
- 1:21:02fantastic. So they were all held at
- 1:21:05Loughborough University 1 after another.
- 1:21:07I think it started around midday.
- 1:21:09I want to say the last game literally finished about an hour
- 1:21:12ago and they had commentators to our highlights to our on screen
- 1:21:18graphics. The commentators knew every
- 1:21:20player's name, the what they were studying, the, the yardage
- 1:21:23that they had for the season. It was a really well produced
- 1:21:28and you know, the games weren't fantastic because the weather
- 1:21:31was very, very, very windy down there, but it was the well
- 1:21:34produced kind of spectacle to watch.
- 1:21:37And I, I'm not going to go too much into it.
- 1:21:39I just wanted to make sure we we did give credit where credit is
- 1:21:41due because me and Brad are heavily involved with British
- 1:21:44American football and sometimes they get a lot of things wrong.
- 1:21:48And this time they got a lot of things right in my opinion.
- 1:21:51And it was, it'd been, it were nice to see that.
- 1:21:55And there were, there were easily, there were I think 1000
- 1:21:58people watching at one point and it would never drop below 600
- 1:22:01people watching. So yeah, credit where credit's
- 1:22:04due. Good on on that one.
- 1:22:08But yeah, so story number two of all other balls, this one does
- 1:22:14include this balls this week for myself, and it's about a man who
- 1:22:18likes to hit balls around the table.
- 1:22:20It's about a man called Mr Ronnie O'Sullivan.
- 1:22:23Now, look, I'm not going to be a no.
- 1:22:25Oh, when it comes to snooker, I don't mind A-frame or two, I
- 1:22:27must admit. And he said watch quite a fair
- 1:22:29bit. Ronnie's always been the man.
- 1:22:31He's always been the guy to be. And he's so nonchalant about how
- 1:22:34he plays. He's, he's just unbelievable
- 1:22:37now. I always thought the highest
- 1:22:38break could get his snooker was a 147.
- 1:22:41You know, it's where you put all the Reds and all the blacks.
- 1:22:44One has to do further than you go through the colours
- 1:22:45afterwards. But Ronnie decides he's 1 better
- 1:22:49than this. Well, actually, no, technically
- 1:22:50he's 6 better than this because Ronnie's come out of the weekend
- 1:22:53just gone. He were playing in a tournament
- 1:22:54and he he got a 153 break. Now just to just friends just to
- 1:22:59go through our break is it's a continuous amount of points tied
- 1:23:03up right and way to to get this. The his opposition that we're
- 1:23:10playing against has fouled. So he's missed the ball, but
- 1:23:14he's snookered Ronnie off of the foul, which means that Ronnie
- 1:23:19O'Sullivan then has a free ball, which means he can get he can
- 1:23:22hit any ball on the table and it will count as a red ball.
- 1:23:24They can hit the black from after there, which meant that
- 1:23:28his break actually started on what would have been 8 because
- 1:23:34it had got it got red in the black.
- 1:23:35So his break had to start on 8, so we went through and ended up
- 1:23:37putting 15 Reds, 13 blacks, 2 pinks, which made it up to A153.
- 1:23:42Now the highest, if you got a free ball by the way, a highest
- 1:23:44you could ever get is a 155. So it's literally 2 points off
- 1:23:48and it's never been done prior to this.
- 1:23:50He's won 40 grand for getting the highest break, right.
- 1:23:54And yeah, I just thought it would just, it's absolutely
- 1:23:58wild. Is that like to get to to get a
- 1:24:00153 break is absolutely, it's absolutely madness, I'm not
- 1:24:03going to lie. But yeah, he's the he's the
- 1:24:06greatest to ever walk. And it shows when two or two
- 1:24:10tables played at same time, they have like a scream in between
- 1:24:14him so he can't so they can't see each of a plane.
- 1:24:16And when he was doing the break, the other tables stopped to
- 1:24:20allow their supporters to watch him doing it.
- 1:24:24And it's a nice gesture is that it's just a bit of a sign of a
- 1:24:28this don't happen. Credit where credit's due.
- 1:24:30But yeah. So that's my story of Story 2,
- 1:24:33Ronnie O'Sullivan with his 153 break.
- 1:24:39Oh, brother, you. I think you are muted, Miser.
- 1:24:45Nope, You're still muted. What's going on there?
- 1:24:50It's not coming through on our side.
- 1:24:51So Brad is not coming through on our side this moment in time.
- 1:24:56But yeah, we were speaking quick briefly there about that 153
- 1:25:00Brad is going to be touching up on. 2.
- 1:25:03Two. There we go.
- 1:25:04Hello. Hello hello.
- 1:25:06I have no idea what happened. There.
- 1:25:09Literally no idea. You're back now though.
- 1:25:13I'm back, I'm back. Sorry everybody, I'm back.
- 1:25:18So yeah, my my story there. 153 break from Ronnie O'Sullivan
- 1:25:22Dunn and Dustin Mayo. Did you see anything?
- 1:25:24Have you heard this before or or not?
- 1:25:26If not, until yours. I'd I'd seen a little bit about
- 1:25:31it and I just like, I love Paul and snooker.
- 1:25:33Like I tend to have those games where I'm like sort of locked in
- 1:25:37or I'm absolutely tragic. But just to see that was just
- 1:25:41mad, mad impressive. I didn't see it live.
- 1:25:43I've just seen it afterwards. But yeah, crazy.
- 1:25:46But my final story and I'll keep it brief, is the F1 rundown.
- 1:25:53Obviously we know we are both quite into the F1 and we both
- 1:25:59enjoy it. And we're, we've done 2 races so
- 1:26:03far in the season and I think there's there's probably 2,
- 1:26:06maybe 3 big stories. So that's all I'm going to touch
- 1:26:09on. I think the big story from last
- 1:26:12weekend before was the double did not start from Norris and
- 1:26:20Piastre. So we had the two top 2 drivers
- 1:26:23from last season who didn't actually get the chance to start
- 1:26:27the race because of failures between the car and the PU
- 1:26:32system. So the engine and Piastre, it's
- 1:26:35actually his second, so he's not actually start at a race this
- 1:26:38year yet. And then your top four, and this
- 1:26:43is all I'm going to touch on really, you've got a 1/2 for
- 1:26:46Mercedes and then a three four for Ferrari, which is absolutely
- 1:26:50huge. Mercedes look like they're
- 1:26:53running away with it already from day one.
- 1:26:56Although I have just seen this today, there's been some
- 1:27:00question marks over there front wing, whether that happened, you
- 1:27:05know, whether anything comes from that or not.
- 1:27:06I don't know if that was just on the Twitter sphere, you know, on
- 1:27:09X and stuff, but Hamilton, Hamilton and Leclerc for
- 1:27:14Ferraris being up there like really, really competing.
- 1:27:19You know, the first race, if it wasn't for strategy, they could
- 1:27:24have probably won it. And then this race to be up
- 1:27:28there from the get go. I mean, Antonelli, once he left,
- 1:27:32he was gone and he was done. But the second, third and 4th
- 1:27:35place was up for grabs the whole race and I I love the new
- 1:27:42regulations. I I like.
- 1:27:44Absolutely love them. I do, but Mercedes going to get
- 1:27:49caught out very very soon with it because they've give McLaren
- 1:27:53the engine or the power unit and they've gone yeah work it out
- 1:27:56yourself guys we've got we we can get its full potential, but
- 1:27:59work it out yourself. I love that issue tells you one
- 1:28:02O 1. I'm all for that, a little bit
- 1:28:04of it, but yeah, I, I can see it coming to bite them in the ass
- 1:28:10as a point because they they're holding the cars to the chest.
- 1:28:13There's just could be something that comes out with it and I'm
- 1:28:15all for it. And I do, I do like it.
- 1:28:17Now, talking about Snelli, I watched this race and it was a
- 1:28:20fantastic race and bless him, bless him.
- 1:28:24Sometimes you see people on TV and just want to give him a
- 1:28:26cuddle and he and he come out afterwards and they were they
- 1:28:30were interviewing him microphone and he couldn't get his words
- 1:28:34out because he were crying. That meant so much to that guy,
- 1:28:37like so, so much to that guy. And you know, Lewis were there
- 1:28:40and like Bono came out to get a picture with Antonelli on his on
- 1:28:46his podium. And Russell stood away, got
- 1:28:50Lewis and went get the family together, get a picture.
- 1:28:53And he got all three of them a picture together because he's X
- 1:28:55race engineer. But what I found funny was at
- 1:29:01Toto Wolff in the pit lane at the end, right.
- 1:29:05There's a video circulating on Exodus of it's been filmed with
- 1:29:08a coming the phone. He's looking at the screen.
- 1:29:10It's 123B, Antonelli, Russell and Hamilton, and Toto turns
- 1:29:16around and goes, oh, it's all three of my drivers.
- 1:29:21I love it, absolutely love it. But yeah, I was good.
- 1:29:24He's. So cool, what a guy.
- 1:29:27Yeah, is is great, is great. But the F1, we were fantastic to
- 1:29:31watch. If we get more time in, in, in
- 1:29:33episodes coming up, we will deep dive more into Formula One.
- 1:29:37But fortunately the time has come where we need to be
- 1:29:43wrapping up now. So we're going to quickly touch
- 1:29:46on the Carl's conundrum for this week May and from last week, if
- 1:29:50that's OK. So Carl's conundrum, if you are
- 1:29:53unaware, guys, research Carl will give you a question week
- 1:29:56in, week out where you can get in touch with those via our
- 1:29:59socials and answer it and let us know what you think the answer
- 1:30:01is. We will also try and what we've
- 1:30:04been failing recently, but we can try and work it out
- 1:30:06ourselves. So last week before sorry
- 1:30:09research Carl gave us the Carl's conundrum of Josh Allen broke
- 1:30:13the record for the most career rushing touchdowns for a
- 1:30:15quarterback in 2025. But whose record they break And
- 1:30:18the answer was Cam Newton that now reading in it it's so
- 1:30:22obvious I'm kicking myself I didn't get it absolutely kicking
- 1:30:27myself right. The cast could under before this
- 1:30:30week. Let us know if you know the
- 1:30:32answer head over to our socials and on all that jazz comment
- 1:30:35down below which NFL team holds the record for the longest
- 1:30:40regular season losing streak in NFL history.
- 1:30:44And I feel that was a really obvious one, which the NFL team
- 1:30:50holds the record for the longest regular season losing shriek in
- 1:30:53NFL history. OK, if you know the answer or
- 1:30:57you think you know the answer, let us know in the comments down
- 1:30:59below. Guys.

- 1:31:14Monster session an hour and 30 minutes long.
- 1:31:18Anything from yourself before we sign out?
- 1:31:21Nope, just good to be back. Apologies for last week and I've
- 1:31:25enjoyed it. It's been nice to touch on
- 1:31:27something a little bit more superficial.
- 1:31:30And yes, yes, let Let's know what we should do.
- 1:31:35Yeah, let us know what we should do.
- 1:31:37We should rank next time, guys. All right.
