[upbeat music] Ahoy, hoy, everybody. Hey.
0:17
Hey, hey, it's, like, Full Spectrum Cycling, show number 161. It's like a palindrome, backwards and forwards, 1-6-1, 1-6-1.
0:27
Ah, I was trying to figure out how to come up with some numbers that made it equal 420 from a couple days ago, but it- [laughs]...
0:33
it just didn't quite work out and, like, last week it could've been 320 plus 100- That was two days ago... or 210 plus 100 or- Yeah, today is 422... yeah, two also. Yeah. You must have dialed 912. [laughs] In addition to
0:47
having been 420. I saw that State Bicycle, our f- our friends at State Bicycle, came out with a 420 edition Clunker. Yeah? Oh, yeah. Oh, I haven't checked that out yet. I got the text very early this morning.
1:01
[laughs] Did you? Did you- I didn't check it out yet, so. [laughs] It's kinda green and black and- Yeah... but you know what kinda caught me on it was- Sticky... sorta like the tire look on it.
1:08
Looks like a little less m- uh, off-roady, more- A little more street... more street cred with those skins on that puppy. It's a good-looking bike. Yeah. It's a Clunker, so of course it's a good-looking bike...
1:19
well, it's also a State, which- It's a State bike... we, we like their stuff. They're good peoples. They're good peoples. Little, uh, little- Although I have to laugh that I was reading the reviews of their
1:32
aluminum pipe that goes into the bar end. Yes. And the other is just a regular plug, and one guy reviewed saying, "You know, the other plug should be where you stash." You can stash it in the whole handlebar.
1:45
So, so he's like, "I'll wait for version two." But what about- I'm like... Why don't you just stuff the whole bar full? Well, how are you gonna get out? Just blow there and it pops out the other end. That's...
1:54
Oh, that's nice. That's... Oh, that's- Doesn't really seem... It's a tube. It's woods. It's like a, it's like a, it's like a big steamroller kinda thing. Whoa, that's- [laughs] Oh, oh, that's an idea. Yeah.
2:04
That's a really good idea. [laughs] I know. It would be a good idea. I was working on my, uh, my... Well, SingleSpeed USA is not until August, is it the 20th? I think it's the 20th, up there in Decorah, Iowa. But
2:20
owing to the fact that I haven't ridden a whole lot lately, I've gotta get my single speed action back, so I was working on- It's mental as well as physical. Yeah.
2:29
[laughs] And it's also mental not to get off your bike and just walk up hills, too. Right. So- Right... I'm, I'm f- and, uh, well, neither of you have- With beer... JK, were you at Decorah? No. Oh.
2:39
I have also never been to Decorah. Well, it's a place to go, and there are hills there that are definitely walkable [laughs] hills.
2:47
[laughs] Even, even the, the sha- even the shallow grade hills are still walkable in some cases, especially for us old single speeders.
2:56
But the, uh, the original Decorah Time Trials, instead of kind of traversing up the hill in a backwards and turn-y fashion like a, like a grade on a hill normally, this went straight up the side of the bluff.
3:08
[laughs] It's like, yeah. [laughs] You gotta do that for about 200 feet, and then you're already gassed and you [laughs] now you have to complete the other 11 miles of riding. Mm. Mm-hmm.
3:18
4,500 feet of climbing or whatever it was. You're not selling it, but... [laughs] Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Well, once you... Okay, once you're on- But then you get there...
3:26
well, once you're on top of the bluff though it, it flows and it's beautiful. And of course you get to come back down it- Right...
3:33
which in the olden times was a thing called the Backbone, which was back-breakingly [laughs] steep. I don't know if they're gonna use that this year. I'm not the course designer and/or director or anything.
3:43
I just think it's a good thing for folks to do, and it's not too early to figure out which single speed device you might be riding. Right. In my case, I'm working on that. [laughs] Ay caramba. What do we got?
3:59
Oh, hey, RW 24 registration. In. You're, well, you were a volunteer last year, right? So you're already grand- Yeah... you, you're already in anyway. Yeah. Actually, is it 2019, '20 and '21?
4:12
I think everybody's a VIP pretty much. I don't know. I got a very funny mes- message, text message from Tim at Black Husky saying, "Hey, you know, so what's the story with registration?
4:23
How many porta potties are they gonna have? How much of this, how much of that?" And I said, "Oh, I'll check with the, with the founders and get back to you," 'cause I know him.
4:31
And he's like, "No, no, no, I'm just more worried about how many people are gonna be sleeping in the park to get in line first," and he went yada.
4:38
And I'm like, "Tim, there's only one idiot that does that anymore because they switched it to a lottery, and you're talking to that idiot." [laughs] So yes, I will probably be there, I don't know, maybe Friday night?
4:50
But it's not until the 15th this year. It's a Saturday. Sunday. Yes, it's a Sunday, 10:00 AM. Are you scratching your beard? Is that 'cause you haven't had any weed for a week? You get kind of like... [laughs] Um.
5:00
Speaking of Tim- Oh, I'm s-... Timvitational tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, tomorrow's the Timvitational? Yes, and I did...
5:06
Well, they'd ha- they had asked me if they could use some photos from last year's Battle at the Brewery for some promotional stuff, and I thought, "Yeah, sure. That was a pretty cool event." Yeah.
5:17
And I, I think it was for Battle at the Brewery, which is not till fall. Oh, right. But I didn't know the Tim- the Timvitational from the Tim Gym was- Yeah... coming up so quickly. That's gonna be exciting.
5:27
That'll be at Black Husky. Yeah. That's inside, though. Come see that tomorrow. That's fun. Oh, that's the inside thing? Oh. Oh, yeah. It's not there, you don't close the whole streets off. All right.
5:33
Well- Which I'm kinda curious how they're gonna deal with the Route 22 bus now that Humboldt's all hosed. Oof. Yeah. So that the Route 20- And it's also Record Store Day. You know. Oh, you know what?
5:43
I didn't push the button. Ugh. That's all right. We got another thing going over here. Yeah. [laughs] See, that's why we... That's, folks- Redundant... I gotta tell you folks- Redundant technologies, I tell you...
5:53
that's, that's why you go ahead and, uh, and you have a backup just in case- Right... you forget to push the button. Speaking of backup, don't forget to upgrade your site- Yeah, I kinda saw we were going to 7.1.
6:04
I don't, haven't done that yet There's a whole bunch of- I think it auto-upgrades, actually Uh, no. Not unless you've set it to do that, and I don't recommend that I might not have set it. I might have. I don't know.
6:13
I'm pretty sure those software guys are smarter than I am, so if they say- That's a-... it's time to Not to nerd out, that's a fine product Huh? That's a hell of a fine product. So somehow, though- Absolutely.
6:23
What- 'Cause, uh, 'cause, uh... Well, by the way, JK to my right, Tony. Hi. Tony, Tony over there. Hey. Hey, everybody. I pushed the button now, so we're- Yeah... all good to go. Uh- Now-
6:32
I- I'm, I'm kinda curious if it's gonna sound the same, 'cause I'll use the first five minutes of that one, and then we'll just go to this one Right into this one Yeah, I don't know. It'll be interesting.
6:42
It's an experiment, folks. And, uh, by the way, if you do any podcasting, make a backup for crying out loud, 'cause it just sucks having... Uh, JK and I did this- [laughs]...
6:53
a couple, three years ago on the River West 24. We sat and had the best show ever. It was so good. 35, 40 minutes of yammering about all the- Gold... goings-on. Gold. And- Podcast gold, it was...
7:06
and then I'm like, "Oh- Oh, crap... forgot to push- Forgot to record it... [laughs] the button." So we're like, "Well, we'll just do it again," and we're like, "Yeah, no." Yeah, you can't- Yeah, there's-...
7:13
recapture any of that... there's no spontaneity there. There's no... Remember when we were talking about the thing with the deal, and it was like, uh- It's gone...
7:21
yes, I remember how great that was, and I have no idea what we were saying. Which is often the case with the casting of the pods. Well, it did, it, like, reinforce a point early, early on. Save it for the show. Oh, geez.
7:36
Lights out. [laughs] Oh, hey, everybody. [laughs] I'm glad the power, the power didn't go... We're on battery backup over here- [laughs]... right? So what's happening in the- [laughs]...
7:45
other side of the wall area of the room is, uh- That was, uh, kind of alarming [laughs] when- Yeah. [laughs]... I'm back.
7:53
Like, I forgot that, yes, with our, our, our one light in this room is also on the same circuit as the rest. So they're having some readings.
8:01
I believe they're all high school students, and they're doing five-minute readings. I assume they wrote them, not sure that's true, but about gun violence. And so there's, uh, I don't know, uh- It's bad...
8:11
there's, like, 50 people on the other side of the wall. Can we hear them? Maybe a little. Not so much. There's some. It'll be good. And they hear us as well.
8:19
And, uh, so yeah, so 53212 Presents is a local, uh, artist community kind of... Uh, it's not... The... I guess it's a theater. Yeah. They do readings, they do recitals, they do small stage performances.
8:33
Just directly- Good people... adjacent to our fine podcast studio. They're good people. Yes. I can hear people talking over there. That's okay. I cannot hear what they're saying, however.
8:43
Can they hear us talking is the other- I- Probably... actually, since we've been doing this for four years, do not care a whit. [laughs] Well, close to four. A bushel or a peck. Close to four years. Show number 161.
8:56
Right back at it. We didn't do them, we didn't do them weekly in the beginning. We're not doing math. Yeah. Uh, we did them pretty weekly from the get-go. Pretty- And then there was a biweekly, I think- Well, maybe-...
9:04
we started biweekly... you're right, you're right. Yeah, we did. We started biweekly. Like there's not that much to talk about. Yes, there is. So the... So- [laughs]...
9:12
here's something about that RW 24 registration thing that we started talking about, is that if you want to be in the race this year, I think that you need to register at riverwest24-.com....com.
9:28
Yes, you should And- Make a profile... throw your hat in the ring, and make a profile, and throw your hat in the ring. So that if, when they do the lottery for the 8 or 10 spots that are not taken by VIPs- [laughs]...
9:39
that you will be in the lottery to get yourself a, a, an entry into, uh, the event. Which will be the 30th of July this year, yeah? 29th and 30th. 29th and 30th.
9:49
The interesting part about it that they've also changed is that if you only wanna do bonus checkpoints, you don't have to register. Right. Yeah, it's open to anybody. It's free. Well, that'd be kinda interesting.
9:59
Remember the year they did the sandbags for Habitat? Yep, did that one. That would've been good if there was about another thousand people filling sandbags. Oh, right. You know? Yeah, so that's an interesting idea.
10:09
I like how they, you know, they always add a little twist to it. They do seem to come up with something. Yeah. The cheese jump was pretty good. Bite me. [laughs] Still got cheese on my shoes.
10:19
I still got cheese on my feet, bro. And my soul. And in my bunghole. [laughs] And my dignity. It's vegan cheese. [laughs] It was not even cheese. It was vegan cheese. Yeah, it wasn't real cheese.
10:30
There's certain things that you just can't have, and vegan cheese is one of them. If you're not gonna eat cheese- Then don't eat... you can be a vegan, but don't even attempt. Yeah.
10:40
I can't imagine what slurry of probably stuff that's worse for you- Oil... than cheese. Just oil. Well, is that better than cheese? No. Right. No. There you go. What's better than cheese? Pretty much nothing.
10:51
[laughs] Pretty much nothing. Cheese curds. Yeah, I probably have about at least eight kinds of cheese in the fridge right now. Oh, easy. Yeah. Easy. Some of it gets nice and dry.
10:59
One time Molly made a macaroni and cheese, and then we added up what it cost [laughs] us, and it was an $80 pan [laughs] of macaroni and cheese. Oh, the pasta didn't cost- It was delicious... pasta didn't cost anything.
11:12
Well, you, no, you drop in- The milk barely costs anything. Right. Well, you drop in, like, the 20-year-old cheddar or something- Right... and it's like, oh. I had some aged brick.
11:19
[laughs] I, yeah, I had some five-year- it, it was some gorgeous blue. Oh, my God, it was so good. So here's what I'd like.
11:25
I'd like macaroni and cheese, but without the macaroni, or without the associated guilt of- Carbs?... carbs of macaroni. There's gotta be something. Whole wheat. Cauliflower. Weed? [laughs] Whole wheat.
11:37
I'm sure they can make... Weed? Sure. [laughs] No, whole wheat? I don't know. People aren't supposed to eat wheat either, for Christ's sake. We can't eat anything anymore.
11:48
I'm sure they can make something that looks like a pasta made out of cauliflower, processed up. Oh, cauliflower. Yeah, I think I have heard something about that. It just makes sense. I don't know if they do.
11:56
No, but that's not, doesn't make sense. That's wrong. No, they make the damn everything else out of cauliflower. It's the superfood. I don't know. Well, they're not as stainless as Beats. True that. [laughs] So in, in,
12:09
in the interim, I've already, I've already walked up to the top of the hill and, uh- Yeah. Yeah, me too. [bell ringing] In the car, I was... It's about how long it takes to get up the two miles
12:19
from, from the bottom of the hill to the top. It's a good 15, good 15-minute chug up that puppy. Speaking of chugging stuff, what are we chugging today?
12:28
We are having some- 'Cause this was, this is what was in the fridge, and-... Third Space Happy Place... wonderfully so, some Third Space Happy Place. This has been on the show once or twice. It's a fantastic local beer.
12:37
Yeah, it has, just 'cause it's local. And it was in the fridge. [laughs] And it was in the fridge, and it was cold. Yeah. And it's just a- It's a pretty easy drinking ale... um- Midwest pale ale. It's a, it's a...
12:48
Well, their whole place li-... I'm not sure I like their thing. You have your home, you have your work, but everyone needs a third space. Everyone needs a third space.
12:54
Eh, a little too corporate for me, but it is a nice place for big events. This particular Midwest pale ale, first time I've had a Midwest pale ale. You've had this before.
13:07
Well, I've had this before, but then I had seen what's, what makes it a Midwest pale ale. I don't know. Bright hop aromas meet notes of citrus and tropical fruit, dare I say- Apricot?...
13:18
apricot [laughs] in this supremely balanced hoppy pale ale. It's balanced, it is. It's a, it's a 5.3% ABV, a 45 IBU, and, you know, it's very drinkable. It's easily drinkable.
13:33
I guess if a Midwest pale ale is a thing that, you know- It's also in the reasonably priced category, which I like about it...
13:39
I just don't know what makes it an, you know, an eastern pale ale or a Midwest, or what's the difference? Where it's brewed. It's pale ale for... Yeah, where it's made. [laughs] Or maybe. I don't know.
13:48
I- The timing, the timing of the dry hoppings... bike cracky, we're up here- Or something... on the top of the hill in the pine trees in Decorah. Juniper. Drinking a- Smelling of the juniper berries. Yeah.
13:59
Then we can make some gin. [laughs] Is there a distillery up on top of the hill? And juice. There better be. Oh, I saw the- Well, it's not that kind of gin... the guy, Ray Horst, at The Swinging Door Hot Dog stop today.
14:09
Nice. He was there... He's there regularly, isn't he? Oh, yeah, yeah. And, uh, what, what was the- And so was Jules. [laughs] What was the hot dog special today? Uh, they haven't had a special during Lent. Oh, Lent.
14:20
And being the first Wednesday after Lent- Lent... right, uh, or after, yeah, after Lent- Lent... um, it's 4/20, so it was the 4/20 specials, which were... [laughs] I want, I wanted... Just listen to...
14:36
Okay, the 4/20 Burger, and of course, it's just got a bunch of shit awesomeness on it. But [sighs] blackened pickle bacon grilled cheese. [clears throat] Oh, my God. What is that? I have no idea what...
14:52
I mean, it obviously was delicious. It has pickle in the word, but I'm thinking that it's not as bad as it sounds. But the black...
14:56
Yeah, the blackened pickle, like kinda how they would, like, do the vermouth carrots- Oh, my God... kinda caramelized. This sounds fantastic. They should have. Although, they serve food till 10:00.
15:06
[laughs] Meaning we could ride down there in the rain- Yes... and still get a blackened- [laughs] That was two days ago. In the rain two days ago. The- So did we go or didn't we go?
15:17
[laughs] We'll, we'll consult- Well-... tomorrow's prom for my daughter What? Yeah. Huh. That's kinda creepy. I do not condone proms or any [smacks lips] thing of that nature. Uh, here's the thing.
15:33
There's fat bike events that are not in the winter, believe it or not. What? Yeah. Well, okay, so, okay, wait. Okay, so I'm gonna, uh, pull one up, but I'll talk about this one first.
15:43
May 14th, that's coming up, UK Fat Bike Championship. Whoa. It's probably still [laughs] winter there. Well, but maybe they're using the beach. Maybe. Maybe they got a lot of sand. They do have a lot of sand.
15:54
They got submarines buried in the sand. They do. You can ride right over the submarines. It would be much like the weather out there on 4/20 here in our fair- It could be. It could be, yeah...
16:02
the shitty, the shitty misties. Ireland's called a soft weather. Oh, those shitty misties. Uh, what else? What else? 40 degrees and misty. Oh, here we go.
16:10
Um, another one in Wisconsin, because there is a considerable amount of sand in certain parts of the state. Yes, there is. The Barrens, and then the Bayfield Peninsula and all that. So the fifth annual Fat Fish 40
16:25
is in Wisconsin, and that's, uh... I don't know, but there's the thing. I'll put some sh- link in the show notes. Gomez wrote a story about it, uh, whatever, whatever, whatever.
16:34
But it's also an event that's on May 7th, which is also not technically in the winter. That is true. Or is it? No. No. No. May 7th's spring. All right, so it's a spring fat bike event.
16:48
And I think there'll be more coming. There's talk of things up in Northern Wisconsin too, so don't put your fat bikes away just 'cause it's getting warm outside. I, what, what? It's supposed to be like- Who says that?
16:59
... 70, 70 degrees tomorrow for... What? Yeah. It's gonna be raining, but 70 and rain is better than 40 and rain, I'll tell you that much. Or 32 and snow this week.
17:09
Snow is better than rain in my opinion, and colder is better than sloppy- Agreed. Agreed. Just like, God. Agree with that too. Agree with that too. I really did not need that on Monday and having to go- No... into work.
17:23
If I could've been at home working, fine. Once. Fine. Fine. I was not. I could've made a case for it, but I didn't. [sniffs] How was everyone's Easter weekend- I-... of whatevers? Yeah, I just, I took my mom out.
17:40
So w- she had been at Oscars the day before. [laughs] Oscars. Awesome. Awesome hamburgers. And she's like, "Well, I could go to Oscars two days in a row." And I said- God love your mom... I said, "All right, Mom.
17:52
Can you check with them and make sure they're open? 'Cause it's Easter." And she asked the waitress, and the waitress was like, "Oh, yeah, we're open tomorrow." Pretty sure she didn't know it was Easter.
18:00
She probably thought it was Sunday. Sure. Oh. And so we go down there, and it's- They're closed... not open. Oh. So I didn't get my Oscar burger. No.
18:07
Mom had an Oscar burger on Saturday, but she would've had one on Sunday as well. Yeah. So we went to the old- It's a thought that counts... we went to the old, uh, 84th Street Diner there, which is the old, uh...
18:15
What is that? Johnny V's. Johnny V's. Yeah, so it was pretty good. It's right on. And I'm talking to my mom, or-...
18:21
commiserate and chit-chatting, finishing our stuff, and I got my box 'cause they're gonna take half my stuff home.
18:27
I said, "Mom," you know, about 50% of the time I leave the box at the restaurant when I pay or whatever- Good point... and I just don't take it with me. And she's like, "Oh, that's not gonna happen today.
18:36
I'll take care of it." You did, didn't you? I left it there. [laughs] It's like- Yeah... ah, it's somewhat inevitable. Mm-hmm. I had, uh, Wile E. Coyote come over for brunch. Wile E. Coyote-y? Wile E. On the Easter?
18:52
On the Easter, and then we went and worked on the house a little bit. Did you ha- did you feed him the ham? I know he was in, he was- Um, he-... hunting for ham... we had pork sausages.
19:00
Well, it's all part of the magical beast. Right? Yeah. I agree. [laughs] He's- Actually, we had pork, chicken, and then my niece came over with a chorizo hash brown. Nice. So we had a three-meat group for Easter brunch.
19:17
I had, like, this weekend of, like, strangely unexpected musical weekend. Like, Friday night, uh, Aluminum Nun I was playing. I didn't know that was gonna happen.
19:28
I didn't know I was gonna stay out late enough to wander over there, and I sure as shit didn't know I was gonna hang out there [laughs] till, like, 1:30 in the fucking morning. [laughs] Oops.
19:37
Where was this Aluminum Nun I? At, uh, High Dive. Oh. And- That's a place that seems to be getting more- Yeah... good stuff in than not. And, uh, Voot was on base,
19:48
so ran into Voot earlier, and then it was like, "Oh, sh- oh, okay." Do, do you know I can see High Dive from my new house? Oh. It's a good thing. Although Saturday I woke up to,
20:02
uh, as is tradition, I check my cameras at the house that I'm currently working on, and 9:45 at night, I see a police officer walking through my yard, and I'm like- Oh, yeah... "What's going on here?"
20:15
And then, uh, maybe 10 minutes later, there's two police officers walking the opposite direction. And then my wife checks the Facebooks and says, "Hmm, looks like they locked down Mad Planet- Yeah... last night."
20:27
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it turned out my neighbor apparently had a gun in their house and was thinking about shooting people up or something. The neighbor at the new place? Or the neighbor- Yeah...
20:37
at the old place with the- No, a new place-... the guitar and the... Yeah. [laughs] No. The new place- Yeah, yeah... and across the street.
20:42
Yeah, 'cause I, I saw parts of that on the face place, and it was just like, dun-dun-dun-dun-dun. You know, it was like on whatever page. They literally locked down Mad Planet. Yeah, yeah.
20:51
And it was like, "Hey, everybody's open back up. Come on over," and da, da, da, da, da, da. It was like, oh, shoot. Yeah, it was, it was, uh...
20:57
So- Well, then Saturday- My priority one is to get a fence put in my yard now so the cops can't walk through it. [laughs] Yeah. There you go.
21:04
Well, it's the best thoroughfare between, you know, like, you know- The whole-... the center's- Right. It is. Right... yeah, it's definitely a good thoroughfare. You gotta- People, people know it...
21:11
you gotta put the kibosh on that. People know it. Yeah, I'm gonna put a fence up and then a big old beware of dog sign. And a Rottweiler. No, I'm just...
21:17
Mandy Busil will just scare the hell out of them, even though she'd, like, roll over and let them scratch her. Yep. Yep, yep. But after- Get some hops growing. Get some, get some- That's a good idea. Right? Yeah.
21:26
Well, then Saturday- Are you gonna move your, uh, your bicycle fence gate over there? Yeah, of course. [laughs] After I saw you guys- That's gonna be what makes you sell the house...
21:34
make sure you take a picture of that so that I can see it. Yeah. Yeah. Contingency, house is not sold if gate is still here. Yeah, no.
21:40
The, the, written into it is, you know, you get all the appliances, but I get the gate. [laughs] A Dave Lunds original. It is. DaveLunds.com. Did you make it to Bremen on Saturday? Yes.
21:53
Okay, that was before me, and that was before you perhaps. Yes. Oh, did I make it there? [laughs] Yeah. My, my mistake was- Oh, yeah. Apparently I did.
21:59
And then it was like dun-dun-dun-dun-dun 'cause then it was like I was there for a bit, and then it would, like, floated over to- Yeah... damn Uptowner, and then Brit Pop was playing in Shorewood,
22:07
and I was like, "I need to get the mad sounds of Manchester. God damn it." My, my mistake was- "I need my Stone Roses fix."
22:12
My mistake was having breakfast, then meeting James at the house, working on the house, and then 4:00 we decided to head over to Bremen, and, uh, well, you know, it's happy hour, and a freaking liter of Lakefront IPA is, like, $6.
22:28
Shit. Yeah, yeah. A liter. Yeah, that d- doesn't- After not-... stay cold enough long enough for me. Well, after not eating, yeah. I went home and took a nap, and then the rest of the night was shot.
22:37
So they had the, they have the different levels of, uh, beer in the cooler, $4, $5, $3, $4, $6, whatever.
22:47
And there was one in there called Wake and Bake at the $3 level, which would've been two for happy hour, and I'm like, "Wake and Bake? That looks pretty good." And it was from somebody that we like.
22:55
I don't remember who 'cause it had a fancy label on, and it might've been Three Floyds or some- I don't remember who makes it. But I was looking at the label and then I go, "Ooh, 9.4%." Yeah.
23:06
I think I go, I think I- "I'm pretty sure I don't wanna pre-game with the 9.4 today." I met, uh, Jessica and Dan over there. Nice. I, I did that, I did that on, uh, Brewer's opening day. The, not home opener, but they
23:22
apparently opened early, and it was just, uh, Melchiorre and myself and the owner, and he was just kinda opening it up and whatever.
23:30
And I was just kinda snooping on the, uh, the beer cooler, and he's like, "Anything here, I'll buy it for you." And they were all, like, stouts and porters and dark kinda beers, and I'm like, "Uh, uh, I'll try the..."
23:43
Oh, I think it was by Terrapin or something like that. Oh. That was it, I think. Wake- I think it was the- I think it was Terrapin. And- Wake and Bake. That's what it was... yeah. And it was like, it w- uh, yeah. Okay.
23:49
And then I go... And I was like, "Oh, yeah. I'm just gonna have one more beer and then go home." [laughs] Well, the one beer, that's, like, three beers. Yeah. You know? That's it. [laughs] I'm just like, "Oh,- Yep.
24:00
That was it... God, show me the way- I'm pretty sure that was at Terrapin... to go home." Yeah. [laughs] Right on, right on. Well, I don't know what else is coming up.
24:08
I know they're still doing their show out there for the- You know what's still n- not coming up is my goddamn Bobcat. Oh, yeah. Where are our miners? 25 weeks and counting. I don't know. If I had one, I'm not sure.
24:22
Okay, so, like, if I... If, if- When, if, when- There you go... not positive yet. If we move to the new place, I'm gonna be, like, a block from yours- Right... and that's gonna have to dilute- Oh, yeah...
24:32
out yours and mine. Well, then I'll be four blocks away. It's still gonna dilute it out- Right a lot... 'cause we're in the same hexagon. I don't know.
24:40
I'm, I'm, I'm super excited about the new big space, but I'm also like, "Holy cows, that gonna cost a lot of freaking money." Yeah. How am I gonna make all that money? Selling e-books. Yeah. Prostitution. I know.
24:53
If we would... So I was thinking that if we had been able to transition from the shop on Locust to this new place seamlessly without this year-and-a-half fuckery- Rigamarole... I would've said, "No problem.
25:06
That's a no-brainer." Now I'm like, "Hmm, huh, hmm. I don't know. We have lost momentum. We, we have to regain the momentum," I think. It's a lot of rent, too. Well, it is, and to,
25:22
to that f- the rent part isn't as big a deal as, you know, all the other expenses that go along with it. It's really not horrible. Well, and humanity's going outside their doors again, so there's- This is a good thing...
25:33
there's that. Well, we'll see what happens. I- there's that. What I'd just like to do- Of course... I'd just like to have a money tree in the backyard, and this all wouldn't matter. We'd all like that.
25:43
Did you plant one at the new house? 'Cause wanna get that going as soon as you can. [laughs] Not any trees at the new house yet. [upbeat music] All right, everybody. Oh, we did it.
25:51
We're gonna go maybe see if we can catch a reading or two outside on the old, uh, 53212 Presents stage. Next week, I guess we'll try and muddle through this again. We'll smear 162 all over you.
26:05
[laughs] [upbeat music]
