SPEAKER_00: Dave Grohl was the drummer for the mega successful band Nirvana.
• 0:25
SPEAKER_00: He was already an established musician in his own right, but when the lead singer of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, committed suicide in 1994, nobody expected Dave Grohl to form his own band and take on the role of a songwriter and lead singer.

SPEAKER_00: So the very next year in 1995, he released the first Foo Fighters album.

SPEAKER_00: For Dave Grohl, success did not come easy.

SPEAKER_00: He had to prove himself all over again.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_00: Yet he kept on going.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_00: He kept doing what he loved and assumed that his hard work would eventually pay off.
• 1:37

SPEAKER_00: But one thing is for sure, it's never going to happen if you quit.
• 1:53
  SPEAKER_00: Why is that?
• 1:54
SPEAKER_00: Because the thing that makes you successful is your persistence and you carry that around with you everywhere that you go.
