- 0:04Hello, I'm Eric. Hi, I'm Sydney and This is Hallmark Mysteries and More Hello Sydney.
- 0:14Hello, Eric. How are you doing?
- 0:14You know, I'm just dandy. I'm living it up here and my aunt Sadie robe. I'm pretending I'm part of that fabulous wardrobe department. Endeavor.
- 0:35Yes. Well, it's nice to have you back last week. You were busy enjoying your birthday when we recorded so, Jeff good birthday.
- 0:44I did. I'm so I thank you so much for the lovely birthday post. Eric, that was so nice and written from the heart.
- 1:00Yeah, but it's great. You know, Wow, another year around the Sun or the Yeah, it's not what they say around the sun.
- 1:10was greatest rise. Wait, so it makes you a Taurus. Hmm. I am the same as my wife and daughter. We talked Yes. Yeah. Did ya? Gotta escape them. You can't you can't escape our stubbornness.
- 1:28All right. What are we here to talk about today?
- 1:32Well, wait, Eric, I didn't ask how you are. How are you? Are you maybe jetting off somewhere?
- 1:39I am. As soon as we wrap up this recap. I will be hopping on a plane and heading to the east coast to hang out with family for a week in Florida.
- 1:53Oh my gosh.
- 1:55You know what's so great about it too, is I was trying to wrap up work. I got a nice little project right at the very end of the day that I've got to do when I land so no vacation vacations.
- 2:08Oh my god but what happens when you land and you and you meet a lady detective and you guys find a buried treasure and chaos ensues?
- 2:19I will say um, hold on. I have one project to do. And then we will get into solve this case.
- 2:26Okay, sounds like a plan okay.
- 2:30Okay, so today we are going to be discussing the Jain mysteries inheritance last starring Jodie sweeten. Steven who's our and Paris Jefferson, who we talked to last week and who was Aunt Sadie. And I'll tell you what she what she said the movie was going to be I think it turned out to be we'll get into talking about that in a second. The Jane mysteries inheritance last follows Jane de Silva, who inherits a foundation that now runs a detective agency. While investigating her first case, she discovers a company that exploited her clients mother, and she realizes that delving into the past can be dangerous.
- 3:18Are you scared?
- 3:19I was so scared, especially when that brick flew right through the window just Yes, the brick through the window. And it was so well.
- 3:32Well, wrapped in everything. So.
- 3:36And how much do you think that magazine was that they took all those letters? 1499 Real simple.
- 3:39No, actually, it's funny because I bought my wife People Magazine for the flight and well before the flight. And those things are expensive now. Dang, I was thinking I was like, you know, read dollars or something. Oh, man. They're like eight bucks or some?
- 4:01If maybe even more sometimes.
- 4:01double that.
- 4:05Yeah. So. Okay, so before we get going, what do we usually talk about? Cocktails, cocktails. And for this one. I've concocted the Bohemian Rhapsody. I decided with the raspberry Bray from last week. I'm staying with this. You know music genre here.
- 4:29So the great thing about the Bohemian Rhapsody Sydney is it's a drink for two. So you and I can share it. Yes, yes. And that's kind of fancy because I figured this was a fancy movie.
- 4:43So you go with three ounces of coconut rum. One ounce of pineapple juice announced triple sec, an ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice. If you want to cheap go ahead and use the stuff from the bottle. But it's always better with the freshly squeezed and get So here's what makes it so special. You're going to do a half ounce of your favorite fruit forward red wine, like a malt, which is, you know, my favorite word wine. So you're like, Wait, how do you have wine with rum and triple second, all that stuff, let me get to that.
- 5:17So what you're gonna do is you're gonna take all the ingredients except for the wine, but in the shaker, but lots of ice because it's a pretty heart combo. So what you want is that ice not only to chill it, but you want to dilute it just a little bit, give it that good, good shake, you know, get those arms tired, then strain it into a Oh, you got good technique, strain it into the martini glasses, you know, half and half, I may take a little bit more than you because I'm selfish. But you want to strain it because you're gonna have you know, a little bit of chunks of ice, you're gonna have a little bit of pulpy stuff from the, from the, the lime juice if you went fresh. And so you don't want to get any of that drinks.
- 5:58You're once again, you're trying to make this one look really pretty. So then you're going to take your red wine, and you're going to pour it over spoon, put it like up right next to the edge, pour it very slowly, you know, sort of drizzle in it creates a little layer of sort of that dark red on top of this.
- 6:15Otherwise light drinks. Looks pretty cool. And surprisingly, you wouldn't think it goes well.
- 6:24But it does. gotta trust me on that. So I say this weekend, you go ahead and you make yourself a Bohemian Rhapsody. And you'll be like, Wow, that is fantastic. So if you're just by yourself, all you do is split everything in half. But you know what? I always enjoyed best when it's with two.
- 6:43I'll have I'll have both an honor. An honor of you not being here.
- 6:49Two hands. I'm gonna have two drinks.
- 6:52Perfect. That's the way to roll.
- 6:52Senia Okay, all right. We ready to talk about the movie?
- 7:00I think so. All right.
- 7:02So what did you like?
- 7:03Oh my gosh. Well, I think you know, right off the bat what I liked I loved the wardrobe. Oh my gosh, everyone looked so good. And every looks so interesting. Like such a difference from what we normally see in the mysteries. But like go to Hallmark lady mystery outfit. Is the you know, blouse with jeans, heels and a blazer or a jacket. This was like full on color full on drama. Give me all your floral. jumpsuits big belts. I didn't even know the big belt was back. But man the big belt is I guess back with Jimmy and Aunt Sadie. I mean, I loved on Sadie style the most.
- 7:51Like that yellow dress when she first sees her and she's greeting her back from Paris.
- 8:01It's like, wow, that is that is a dress. I also when I did talk to Paris, that's what she said she's like, the costumes in this are just fantastic and asked her about you know, and Sadie she's like, she's a woman of the world. So she's collected these things from everywhere she's ever been and, you know, she she hinted that we were going to really like like the style. So, you know, I think like, they played that right? I mean, the costume department really made it look like she was a woman of the world like the way the pieces were put together. On her work was very like, like she's a well traveled woman and a woman of means and with even with Steven like his shirts like the way they'd roll him up on his bicep a bit and more his lack of shirt. Oh, well that was that leading into the other thing I liked was was we got we got a pool scene we were just talking about Victor. Yes. And and it was like it was like they heard us we haven't seen like we haven't had a good pool scene and several years. What are we going to do to stick Steven there So how was were his shorts like like Victor's just the right size?
- 9:24No, his shorts were not like Victor's but the I would say he's not Victor, so we'll give him a power. Well, no, he's he's he's his own. He's his own funkiness. So yeah, but I still hunka hunka are just a Hunka right now I'm gonna stick with Hunka okay, you know, Hong Kong has reserved for, for some, not all but yeah, I think I'm gonna say like For me, those were the two elements that stuck out stuck out for me. I actually I did it. The other only other thing I will say I really kind of enjoyed her little ditty.
- 10:14Like, I don't know what, I don't know the songs like history, right.
- 10:22That's what I had. I had that.
- 10:22And I liked the fact that could have had the singing in it. And it wasn't Yeah, like they had dream. Dream moms on Hallmark channel this week. And yeah, you know, I talked about it on over there on Hallmark movie review.
- 10:38And I said, if you'd like the Hallmark movies, you know, it's a good fun movie, but it's not by any means. You know, if you don't like the Hallmark movies, it's not going to convert you.
- 10:47But one of the things in that movie that kind of got me was like the choreographing and there was just like, I pretty much good day those dances and I know Chelsea Hobbs can dance so I don't know what they were doing with it. But I will say the singing and the songs. Were just great. Like I was like wow, God sweet and really can bring it. I was a little disappointed though because Paris said she can sing. I would love to see and Sadie at the club as well.
- 11:15Because we did get to see Steven playing the drums there. Now whether or not he can really play drums. I don't know. I'll be given the benefit of the doubt.
- 11:29Maybe if he comes on the show.
- 11:29You can confirm it for us. Yeah, we'll make him play the drums for us do a solo Yeah, well before your time, but will happen do in a Gadda da vida, which is a song that took up a whole side of an album and has like a 10 minute drum solo in it. So what is that from?
- 11:52It's just it iron butterfly is a band from the 60s and I got it Aveda was the song that was like a 30 minute song.
- 12:02Iron Butterfly.
- 12:05Yeah. All right. There we go.
- 12:05We're going deep with the references which I'll hop ahead and my notes a little bit say another reference thing that I really liked. There was a nod to us Gen X ers because you may not know this but Dwayne Wayne, was a character from The Cosby Show spin off a different world with Lisa Bonilla and Kitty and her Hardison, I think Hardison is his name. And that was his name Kadeem 's name, and there was Dwayne Wayne. So when they were doing it, I couldn't tell. Like I giggled every time they said his name, because I just went right back to that show from it was like late 80s, early 90s.
- 12:45But so total total Gen X, little thing whether they intended to or not, I am giving the credit and said they did. Yeah, yeah, the thing I liked, I liked the premise of the story. You know, we can talk about the execution and stuff a little bit later.
- 13:01But, you know, the whole thing of the inherited detective agency that's part of this foundation that focuses on cold cases. It was interesting, it was different. It makes you know, one of the things we talk about our do these people have a reason to be solving crimes. And it does, you know, know whether or not now God coming in from the, you know, the cabarets of Paris, you know, but they, they deal with that, but I disliked that that is kind of a little interesting twist. And so I found that really good. And then I also, I did like, all the characters, like I thought they had a good story behind them.
- 13:46And I'll say, especially sad, I'll think, are probably jumping ahead a little bit, but I would say for me, and Sadie was sort of the hero of the movie. Well, I'll say first of all, the fashion was number one here was the hero that too, was an Sadie's character. I just found her you know, she was she was just so crazy. And that's where and maybe I'm not being right but I found her her style. What I considered it and you can correct me if I'm wrong, because as our real from this week said, I am not the fashion expert. But i That's why I called it the Bohemian Rhapsody. I kind of found her like kind of Bohemia esque. So yeah, a little bit of the world and a little bit of a traveler a little bit of mix and match II of things. So I think that plays in nicely to the fact that they played in Paris clubs to give us a very heavy Asian feel to it, which you know, I love so yeah, you know what else was fantastic.
- 14:53But Paris and Jody, were exactly the same sizes Because Jodie was able to wear all her clothes just perfectly spectacular like is that's so convenient. By the way. Do you think that on safety? How long do you think she was laying there on the ground? Like?
- 15:16You know what? What cracked me up about that? I totally had a flashback to wedding planner mysteries. And I want him to wake up and ask for a, like a drink of wine or like just 51 or 50. I'm 30. Like since there but yeah, I find that little, like, for some reason I just I couldn't stay in that moment. I just went to wedding planner mysteries. With that, it was it was very much yes. And instead she she somehow right away regains consciousness to say you try climbing the ladder in these heels.
- 15:58Well, excuse me, but that is a hazard that Sadie has to endure.
- 16:05As probably not the first time she has been unconscious on the floor after winter, until the next, the next one to find out if it's a continuing thing. All right. So let's hop into the other side. Was there anything you didn't like about the Jain mysteries?
- 16:27You know, so just to like maybe lean into you talking about executions? So yes, the premise is, is interesting. I did find the the foundation a little bit like Illuminati esque or something. It seemed like it was gonna be some was John Wick gonna pop out or something. But I was a little bit. It's it almost. Yeah.
- 16:59But John Wick, it doesn't have about like, 18,000 body count.
- 17:05He's, he's part of some weird little, like, no group. And it almost seemed like it was presented in such a way. And I found it to be underwhelming.
- 17:15Like, the idea was interesting, but the execution was not. And I kind of had that, that thread throughout the movie. Like, I just found the whole story was okay. The characters didn't really engage me the mystery. I mean, I won't say he did. I'm talking about like, the other characters. You know, the side characters, the mystery itself, didn't really send me I'm not really invested in it. Like, like I am some of the other ones we've seen. I didn't know necessarily who the person was that did the crime. But I just I guess I just kept thinking, How is this artist related? What's the bird deal? What's this and that the journal there just seemed like, there were so many moving parts that they weren't interconnected. And I was kind of like, okay, I, I don't know.
- 18:23I feel like they're the mystery would have been. I don't know.
- 18:29It just it didn't it didn't do it for me. But you know, I could be being a little bit hard on it. It's, it's the first one after the cases of mystery lane.
- 18:37And we like loved that. It almost got like perfect scores for us. And that's really not normal. So, I don't know, one of the things I did find kind of interesting about this is so they mentioned in mystery lane.
- 18:57How like the baster thing how you had to be careful what you were saying because of the rating and stuff. But this might be the first time that I heard them mentioned suicide like that so, so much. I don't I don't remember hearing people talk about suicide like that.
- 19:18Well, the in mystery though, the I forget what his name was the guy supposedly had committed suicide. But which one first murdered the guy who was murdered? Kevin's right. That was his name. Kevin, the attorney, the hot attorney. His secret gay lover had supposedly killed himself. Nevermind. No.
- 19:43But to your point I will say they didn't like I don't know if they really I think they alluded to it. I don't know why.
- 19:51They didn't do it as too much of a mental healthy issue whereas I think they definitely did do it more. Here. You know, they talked about her emotional struggles and Yeah, yeah, it's worth it. So, and also like the beginning where she's, she's like, Okay, I'm gonna take on the foundation or whatever. And so much so that it seems like there's a little tiff between her and Steven, right in the beginning. And then, and then someone literally just happens to show up basically on her doorstep and is like, will you take a case? And she I must have counted 10 Times said, I don't know. I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know.
- 20:31But she said it one after another. And I was like, Okay, everyone knows, you don't know.
- 20:35Are you just gonna take it or not? I am probably being too hard on it. But you know, it just it didn't send me like some of these others do. And I, I cringed so hard when I heard that the the pyramid scheme was about crystals. Like, oh my gosh, man, I was so close down the street from Sedona. So, crystals. In fact, my, my best friend's ex wife used to be a channeler for the spirit, Hermes. And she would often go to Sedona to get crystals to help guide her with her channeling so, you know, that's interesting.
- 21:25Yeah, it is. She was.
- 21:30Yeah, she was an interesting one.
- 21:33But But who's Hermes? As neither like the way to go? I don't know. He's the guy who channel birds. He's a Roman, older. I'm sorry. Rock these? Yeah, that's Yeah, I know. You're gonna make me do your old Google. Where's where's chat? GVT when you need it.
- 21:58help it make up a whole story about it.
- 22:04I don't know who it is. That's okay. Ghosts associated with the Windsor forest. Hermie the hunter.
- 22:14Hey, Hermie volunter.
- 22:16Okay, well, I agree with you. I thought it was the mystery was.
- 22:23And it was just the whole thing was just it was uneven. I think they had some decent building blocks. And this is why we talk about how you need more than one mystery, because I think it has definitely potential. And I guess it maybe I find the characters a little more interesting than you because I did have that. And the thing I like, like, I thought individually, they all had like some pretty interesting stories.
- 22:51Now I'm talking about three, the three main characters. Yeah, but the, you know, and even some of the side ones are okay. But I just found it a little too uneven because it was just sort of a jump. And I kept having to be like, Ah, wait, whoo, you know, jumping around and trying to follow the mystery. You know, when she was like, going all out, we're gonna we're talking about Dwayne Wade is crystals.
- 23:17Like, it was. It was him. It's him. It's him. It's him. It's him, then all of a sudden, he's like, Wait, I don't know this woman. And she's just like, Oh, okay. Not you. Like the guy could obviously be lying. Right?
- 23:30But no, she didn't think that and then immediately, it just jumps to the real ones. And, you know, so I just found that like, kind of an abrupt, it just didn't follow for me, it could use a little bit better. But the other thing, it's like, I understand these are cold cases.
- 23:47But this particular Cold Case is like a 15 years. And she's like asking him, Do you remember her with a bird? Like, I don't remember what I had for lunch yesterday. So if, you know, she's talking about some bird 15 years ago, I don't think many people are going to be remembering those details. And you know, so I think they could have made it be like, five years ago or something like 15 years is, like so. 223 So what's that?
- 24:17Like? 2007? Right, somewhere around there.
- 24:26I don't know. I don't I don't that math.
- 24:29Me with me was so let's go. 2007 It's like, do you remember what you were doing in 2007? Yeah, I was graduating from high school.
- 24:38Okay, so when you when you I don't know what happened, you know, Eric, I have a good memory and I have a thing for people's faces and all that you you you don't do that. You're like, you're like wait, that person was 15 years so I just find out whatever maybe that's me purchase I think myself where I don't I think a lot of men are actually I'm generalizing but, but like I said, I agree with you. I just found it really interesting. So I actually me really uneven, so I just, but I do think it has a good premise.
- 25:15So I would like to see one more.
- 25:20And maybe you're right, maybe what they did was try to be a little too much to scale back a little bit. And too much too soon. To see. Yeah, let it let it make it a little simpler, and just go with it. And that is get into the characters. And you know, they have just a decent mystery doesn't have to be too, too crazy. But let's really get into the characters. Because if mystery 101 and signed, sealed delivered taught us anything, if you have characters that people like, they will follow you to the end of the world. Yeah. All right. So let's get let's get to know those characters a little bit better.
- 26:00You know, it would have been kind of nice, because it started out in Paris. And then like, all of a sudden, this guy's there.
- 26:07And he's like, Hey, I need to bring you home with me. And, you know, all of a sudden, you're back what he said. Yeah, basically. He said to me, well, I need to bring you home.
- 26:21Yeah. And then she's back in Baltimore. And she's like, barely off the plane. And here you go. Now you have to your your uncle wanted you to do this. And it's just kind of like, why didn't she get to? I would have liked her to ease into stuff, you know, meet the people a bit. Maybe there's a case that's closer to Auntie CI CD that she can, like, lean into.
- 26:46No, that's not a something.
- 26:46Number one. Were you expecting it to be in Baltimore?
- 26:51No. And that is not what I would think in New Orleans all the way. Yeah, but Baltimore. I mean, Baltimore, I think you ever see the wire?
- 27:03Uh, yes. That is what I think of when I called Martin Yes. You know? Or, or or good morning.
- 27:09What's that? What's that when the John Waters did? Oh, morning balls? Yes.
- 27:19I think of that. Well, that's very different than the wire. It is.
- 27:23But also, not what we were looking at it. You know what, it would have been great. If it was in New Orleans. Yeah, it would have been like the jazzy night. You know, whatever thing just, yeah, honestly, didn't even cross my mind when we saw everything that it wasn't. You know, maybe Baltimore has this great jazz, saying, I don't know the B note.
- 27:45I liked B note for a for a club.
- 27:49I thought that was kind of a cool name. Yeah, it was cute.
- 27:53But the other thing you just made me think about was, did they? And we don't know this answer, obviously. But if they flew back together, they spent a long time together without him like telling her anything about what she was heading back to. So they must have different flights. He must have been like, hey, you need to go home. I'll see you back. I gotta catch a flight and, you know, 20 minutes, he said, then he had her luggage and everything they got in the car.
- 28:19And yeah, they weren't sitting next to each other. So see any movie, you know, good movies lately?
- 28:26You know, she was pretty, like, standoffish with him, which I was kind of surprised. Like if that hunky guy came and like, I mean, I'd be a little standoffish at the pool. Oh, my gosh, she was. Well, first of all, that was terrible. Like, but she was. She was surprised, I think but not as not the reaction I would had.
- 28:57Okay, so what do you think of the quality of the mystery? I think I know the answer.
- 29:04What's my number? No, no, we're just supposed to talk about quality. One, you missed one week, and I have to remind you the whole format. Then we do a body count that we talked about the style, then we do our ranking.
- 29:20Oh, my god of arrogance.
- 29:20Tuesday. Give me a break.
- 29:25I said, I said I said I also am like, No, this is no, not what I hoped for.
- 29:35All right. The body count. I think it's just the one from 15 years ago, right? Is there any I don't know what else? No, there was the artist.
- 29:42Oh, you're right. You're right.
- 29:48Honey, don't ever forget your bodice body count dose. Okay, two to two dead bodies. One Ancient One. Current night. Yes. All right. We talked about a little bit the style other than what we've talked about anything really stick out.
- 30:09You know, I think that they did a good job with the scenery that a state that you know, Aunt Sadie lives that seemed really interesting. I don't even know like it seemed like it was filmed in us in a state with the fancy bookcase and the, you know, big room where the brick goes through the window. It's, it's in the big entryway or she greets or is that what your closet looks like?
- 30:36Oh, I wish Oh my gosh. You know what that I would love to hear from that costume designer because I bet she had such a field day with these people.
- 30:46That that was really interesting. And finding all of those clothes and accessories to stick in that closet. Wow, maybe it maybe it was like Nicole said she just went and had her assistant bring her own clothes. And like remember how Nicole said that? Yeah. Nikki's coat was just her assistants coat. So maybe all those guys were her assistants.
- 31:16Wow, that's what does she do?
- 31:16Like on the side? Does she see her normal wear when she goes like to target and stuff?
- 31:25Okay, I should probably step up my game.
- 31:30No, I don't know your your Sadie robe is fantastic. I'm giving from San Francisco. Two thumbs up. It's very, very fancy. Yeah, as I said earlier, the style on this was just is definitely the hero. Now, you know, would have been cool, though. I think based on aunt Sadie, I think she should have had like some 1950s Cool, convertible car that Jody like borrowed. Or I should say, Jane, that Jane borrowed to drive around because that really would have gone with I think the whole character and everything just, you know, some like, I don't know, teal and white car with big guns or something like that. Or yeah, we're like an old Corvette. You know, like old old Corvette kind of something like that, I think would have been, like really cool and added, added to the movie. And then she would have had the scarf around her head with the sunglass. There we go. We're back to wedding mystery, which I love. I love that scene.
- 32:34I thought she looked adorable.
- 32:38Yeah. Yeah. And we're just thinking about how damn cute Erica Durant's was in that entire movie.
- 32:47Ah, well, instead, she was driving around something that we would have had in high school.
- 32:56Yes. So anything else stick out for you for for the style. I didn't notice her lamps in her house.
- 33:10I mean, it definitely had a dusty and Tiki feel like the whole thing. Like not not dusty in a bad way. But like, you know, it's very was very regal and interesting. I would say.
- 33:25I'd say to Yeah. Okay. Now, since you're so anxious, now we can get into the rankings. Now, all right. See, what we're trying to do is people don't understand that. We're so elevated. What we're trying to do is just for all of our listeners, convey the unevenness of the movie with a really uneven podcast. So yeah, this is all planned. This isn't you know, this isn't by mistake. We were planning for it to be a certain level of confusion as we go through this. So okay, okay.
- 34:03The Steve. How do you know what Eric or Jane and what was his name? Connor? Connor. Was that his first name or last name?
- 34:14I don't know. Oh, my gosh. He was you know, he wasn't conscious. Or Cameron's John Cameron.
- 34:22John Cameron. Okay. Oh, nice name. Okay, I gave it an EIGHT because I thought they got pretty dang steamy there at the end. I thought they started I almost thought he was gonna kiss her while they were dancing. I thought wow, these these tides changed pretty quick and I want to say it was after he got out of a pool. Do it too. Yeah. But but she she was like, Oh, the money saved her basically immediately and saver. But you know, he kind of saved or showing up in the end and I think it just changed really Quick and I really thought they were going to kiss almost but they didn't.
- 35:07I guess I I guess I missed out on all the steam. I will say that yes, the pool scene was like a 10 because her eyes were like literally cartoon popping out, you know, pointing out of her head. That scene. But other than that, I guess towards the end, I still just found them sort of. I don't know. Oh, come on. They were getting way, way, way way. Here. You're talking about so steamy. Their dance was like sixth grade dance, school dance.
- 35:38They're so cool.
- 35:40They're next to each other and all they're doing is this like leaning left, right, left, right. I didn't even like there's no K surrounded.
- 35:50Don't get ahead of yourself dancing detective tango. Okay.
- 35:55Yeah, we're talking jazz club here.
- 35:59I actually really like Stephen his I thought like, Ruby herring mysteries. I thought he was so good in that I that's one I've talked about before that I like a lot better than most people.
- 36:10But he was so good in that movie. And but yeah, so I'm not knocking him but that dancing.
- 36:15kind of summed it up. They're just swaying left and right.
- 36:18It's like exact No, actually, I get made fun of because when I went to my sixth grade dance, I didn't know how to dance. So I was doing jumping jacks was Sherry Cole. And to this, I cringe.
- 36:34I cringe for you. Yeah. I'm, I'm sure. She's probably telling the story right now to her kids.
- 36:40Like, you should be so glad I didn't marry that kid who took me to my sixth grade dance and married your father instead.
- 36:48Okay, who knows? Maybe he does jumping jacks too.
- 36:51Yeah, but he seems like he's doing to stay in shape or some cardiovascular reason. Okay. So well before your time too, is I'm doing the integrated Aveda pulling out all the 1970s music, but David soul, and I don't remember the song. But I remember he was the big song of that sixth grade dance. So Wow.
- 37:16Any listener who's going who's who's once again of the Gen X, maybe even baby boomer, they'll remember. It was it was pretty popular song.
- 37:27Well, shout out to Casey and Jojo. Who were my sixth grade slowed down. Jail, too. That was the that was the brothers. They are I love their brothers. But they sang some real bops early while they were your other you're talking about? No, no. Okay. All right. All right. We're dressing here. Okay. The story broke during the story. I gave it a five. I gave it a five as well.
- 38:04Too uneven. Yeah, the mystery.
- 38:09I gave that a five. I gave it a five as well.
- 38:12Yeah. Wow. I told you. I know we're we're coming up. Ethan here. steeliness? Yeah, no.
- 38:19Acting. I gave a seven. I gave it a seven. Wow. Yeah. Weird. Did you like open up the Google Doc and are looking at my accident?
- 38:34I don't did you post on Google?
- 38:34Oh.
- 38:41All right. So then the steam meter was still there. Seven.
- 38:44Okay. And I said, especially I thought Periscope, or Paris Hilton, Paris. Jefferson. Like I say she nailed that character just nailed it. And the funny thing is, after we are we after I talked to her and we're talking about accents, and as asking, you know, but doing the American accent. I was fixated on her accent and I thought she nailed it. She was I sent her a little. And I said you I didn't have a hint of Australian in your accent. So no. And then it was funny after that, I I was telling that story to my, my daughter and wife when we were going out to dinner. And they just like, What the hell was she doing asking you how to pronounce anything? And then we got into a whole thing. How do you say to her? Do you say tour or tour?
- 39:40I say tour. I'm going to tour the Eiffel Tower.
- 39:45So you do like the single syllable tour to her to her.
- 39:52So you add an ER at the end or something to her.
- 39:56So yeah, so that's why I told her she should not listen to me.
- 39:59Bye I don't know. I think maybe, where are you from? Yeah, yeah.
- 40:04Because my daughter's boyfriend is from Michigan. And he said it that way to my wife's from Pittsburgh. And she's like, tour tour.
- 40:15Oh my gosh. Well ask the East Coast people how they say route.
- 40:20My mother is my mom calls it rut. She goes through like a tree. Yeah, she's like, I need to get these ruts out of the ground. And I'm like, What are you talking about?
- 40:31She lives in the South.
- 40:33No, she's from Massachusetts.
- 40:37Wow. Right. I don't know.
- 40:42I think it's just it's Potato.
- 40:42Potato, man. I don't know.
- 40:47Okay. All right. Where are we style?
- 40:51Well, I gave style a 10.
- 40:53I gave it a 10 to. So were exactly the same. Other than you. You thought they brought the heat on a little bit more at the end than I did. Other than that, so what you must be 35 Then for your score 35 and I'm a 31. So that makes us 60s, six.
- 41:18Okay, so my final thing is, like I said before, I would just say let's let's make Hallmark commit unless they purposely say this is a one off. Let's make them all do at least three. Extra perfect. So read example, a trilogy, you can do it there.
- 41:37You can tell the whole story you build the characters, and then you can sign out and you can feel complete or you can move on. Let's I think you need to see another one kind of like you know, we talked to movies first our very first one when we did family history mystery mystery, mystery mystery. Theory passed very fast. Yes, you know, that was one where we said to we need we need a little bit more we kinda think that one were a little bit more positive but this one I do think we need another that's my take. What about you?
- 42:10I definitely agree. I think three should always be the at least amount like we should at least be having three because we cannot get to note I really wish they would have developed more of the character before into the mystery or the mystery could have been something related to the family. I just didn't like that it was just like wham bam Here you go. You hit the floor running and we're supposed to know all this and where are you when it just you need you need time to let things settle you know 100% agree that build those characters. You build it they will come so yeah. Okay, well next week. Well, tomorrow actually from when we when we err this we have carrot cake murder and Swenson oh my gosh, I can't believe it.
- 43:07Did you see my post today about the coffee orders? I did. To see Dolores. She gets crazy if you don't give her that coffee because when you grab a shovel, man, I liked it. I liked your your style. You did though the weekend too for her.
- 43:39Oh, no. What did I know? That was Mother's Day.
- 43:42It wasn't that wasn't that? I thought you did Hannah.
- 43:45I did. On Saturday. I did. Oh, yeah. But I was talking about Dolores.
- 43:52I know I was saying I liked what you did for her on Saturday.
- 43:55Oh, I said I thought you said I like what you did for her. Okay, I'm sorry, Eric. Eric, I like what you did. This morning. I almost forgot that Kimberly says Dad had been in a mystery.
- 44:11She has been in several was the thing that she was also the killer in a someone had mentioned it about a crap what's the old one that she was in mourning show mysteries she's that's that's the one cuz I did the image but she was in.
- 44:33Oh darn. It wasn't. Oh, Emma Fielding. She was she was a murderer and Emma fielding as well.
- 44:41Okay. Oh, yeah. She wasn't choosing the gourmet detective.
- 44:44She wasn't she was a suspect.
- 44:47She wasn't a killer and she has great hair. I'm going to be featuring that hair. Her birthday is I believe next week.
- 44:54So I'm going to be featuring that hair when we do our birthday post for her.
- 44:58Oh my gosh, Utah. Verse two, I thought you I thought you were going to say that you enjoyed the Cameron Matheson play girl.
- 45:07Oh my god, I was like, what?
- 45:07When I thought there was a carousel, I was glad I was able to find the picture. So people would know I was not just making that up.
- 45:17Granted, it's not like I had it laying around. I'm like, oh, yeah, I can't remember that. I you know, I obviously do some research to come up with some facts. And when I saw that, I was like, too good to pass up.
- 45:31Some ladies were really wow. You know, I think some some some are also a little bit a little too steamy. Who I don't think he was I don't think he was actually like, in it. I think it was like kind of an interview just with him. So he wasn't he wasn't all natural centerfold. Okay.
- 45:55Okay, so yeah, so I'm really excited. I I think this is going to be a good one. And it's funny that people are complaining that they don't get to continue them.
- 46:07And then they go ahead and then they badmouth this one where it's a continuation. So what do you know?
- 46:17Did someone say something negative about complain about murder? Like, I don't like Murder, She baked and yes, Murder She baked did change his name to Hannah Swinson we talked about it, they had to do it for legal reasons and things like that. But it's the same story. It's continuing on. Same character. Yeah, it's the same, you know, plots going there. So we, you know, we get to continue with the exception of the one sister who I don't know she comes back. Which I only saw that other sister in the promo so. Okay, I'm kind of bummed about that. But you know, I'm holding out hope if they made this one. Maybe she'll be back for the next one.
- 46:59Well, we will have seen it already. So I can I won't be a thing I am doing for the Who would you rather? I'm going to be? You're going to be Detective Mike or Norman because there are Oh, still want her with Norman.
- 47:11And maybe he'll come right, Norman. Maybe he'll come crash the wedding. And, you know, in the books and the books, she's she's a total hasI who is not all committed to Him. So I will say maybe she will.
- 47:31Well, we know these books are not like to move.
- 47:35No, like I say I read this book.
- 47:35I read care, kick murder, and then I've seen the promos. And I can't find anything that ties it together. And with grilling season, there was at least that little scene. You know, the one couple pages now in a couple pages. There was a page in the book that was about an exploding grill. Whereas this one, after we watch it, I'll see what what makes sense.
- 48:00But you know what's interesting carrot cake. Oh, sorry. There is carrot cake. And I do there will be we will be sharing the carrot cake recipe on our Hannah Swensons carrot cake recipe on our website. Oh Mark mysteries imore.com I am getting ready to post that tomorrow. But here's the interesting thing in the book. At the very end. She's heading home and she gets a call. She so in the book she's kind of still in at this point dangling between Norman and Detective Mike. And she's definitely a more Norman Detective Mike and her. She just thinks he's kind of at least that's how I take it. She just thinks he's like hot and stuff like that. But we just got definitely more of a connection with Norman. But like read the very end, she's heading home.
- 48:48And she gets a call from another dude saying, Hey, I'm at the airport. Or like a long layover.
- 48:57Come on and see me and Hannah does a U turn and heads to the airport. Wow. Or a third guy so maybe maybe in carrot cake that will get introduced to a whatever some. Tyler Tyler Hines is coming in to swing her away.
- 49:21Oh, man. I don't know if the high knees can take that.
- 49:26Now that he's not a good match, anyhow, I don't know who would be a Victor. Victor. Yeah, well, yeah. You got the victor chemistry and he he's got the Okay. Okay. Yeah, we've been all over the place today. So kind of like I said, it was so well thought out. It was scripted.
- 49:46Just to really give you a feel for what the Jain mystery is just like yeah. All right.
