- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm so glad you're here.
- 0:02Speaker 2: As the person who currently occupies your attention, I would
- 0:05Speaker 2: like to thank you for listening to John Jane Rich.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Welcome in to Arizona Spin. It's Fox 10 Plus on
- 0:13Speaker 2: a Saturday night. My name is Nick Payton Whitmore Strickland
- 0:17Speaker 2: from the John Jane Rich Show.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Did you change? You didn't change. You changed your last name.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Yeah, legally I changed my last name.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Okay. I don't know when I'm going to get used
- 0:28Speaker 1: to that.
- 0:28Speaker 3: I know, it's kind of still a little weird.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:31Speaker 3: And I actually noticed the other day that my middle
- 0:34Speaker 3: name and my last name both end in the word land,
- 0:38Speaker 3: which is really throwing me off.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, because your middle name is Ireland.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Right, and my new last name is Strickland.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Ireland Strickland, what a mouthful.
- 0:48Speaker 1: My, yeah, oh, weird.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Okay, so my wife changed her middle name when we
- 0:55Speaker 2: got married, and she's Caitlin Heron.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Johnson. Oh, wow.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Lots of the Ns.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yeah, lots of Ns.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Was that her maiden name?
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Oh, okay. See, I would not. I like my middle name.
- 1:09Speaker 3: And I love my maiden name, love my last name,
- 1:11Speaker 3: but maybe I'll just get it tattooed on me forever.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, yeah, she's the last of her breed.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 2: So it's like she didn't want to let that go.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And I was like, you just also keep your name.
- 1:23Speaker 1: That's also okay.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Wait, seriously? You were down to let her keep her
- 1:27Speaker 3: last name?
- 1:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Really? That was one of the big, big things that
- 1:31Speaker 3: Kadeem really wanted me to do.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:33Speaker 3: Was to change my last name.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:34Speaker 3: He actually is still like a little salty sometimes. Like
- 1:37Speaker 3: if he sees like an account that has that last
- 1:40Speaker 3: name or like recently we just went to Spokane, Washington
- 1:43Speaker 3: for a wedding and I had to check in with
- 1:46Speaker 3: my maiden last name because that's the name that's still
- 1:48Speaker 3: on my driver's license.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 3: And he was not happy with it. He called me
- 1:52Speaker 3: Miss Whitmore the entire trip.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Yeah. Not passive aggressive at all.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Or maybe is that controlling? Is that a red flag?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Please let me know on Instagram at Peyton Whitmore.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, when you submit us for the Emmys.
- 2:05Speaker 3: For the Emmys that are coming. Speaking of the Emmys. Yeah. Wait,
- 2:08Speaker 3: I have some tea to tell you.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Uh-oh.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I got invited to a pre-Emmys party in LA.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Literally to go to a party to go and hang
- 2:17Speaker 3: out with all the people that are nominated for an
- 2:19Speaker 3: Emmy before the Emmys.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So you are.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I don't. Can I get. Can I take next Friday off?
- 2:27Speaker 1: You're going to take.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm asking you now. No, I'm joking. I don't think so,
- 2:33Speaker 3: because it's on like a Thursday night, which is like
- 2:35Speaker 3: so inconvenient. I don't know if you've noticed that, but
- 2:38Speaker 3: a lot of those award ceremonies and things like that
- 2:40Speaker 3: happen in the middle of the week on like a Monday.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I know that.
- 2:43Speaker 3: It's inconvenient for people who have jobs.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Monday is definitely the middle of the week.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You're right.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Well, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Like, during the weekdays where people have to be at
- 2:51Speaker 3: work the next day.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I get it.
- 2:53Speaker 3: So I have FOMO, not going to lie. I did RSVP, yes,
- 2:56Speaker 3: but I'm not planning on going.
- 2:59Speaker 2: The NFL season is starting, and I don't know why.
- 3:01Speaker 2: So there's a reason why.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Okay. And we talked about it this week, but.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Something like that where the Super Bowl— is President's Day
- 3:13Speaker 2: weekend and you have the Monday off officially. Like, I
- 3:16Speaker 2: feel like with those big events, some of that stuff
- 3:19Speaker 2: should be taken into consideration.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I agree.
- 3:22Speaker 2: But I don't think anybody's having, like, Emmy parties at
- 3:25Speaker 2: home where they're like, oh, we need the next day off.
- 3:29Speaker 1: No, absolutely.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I feel like that would work for, like, Halloween. Like,
- 3:32Speaker 3: if Halloween falls on a Thursday, you should automatically get
- 3:36Speaker 3: Friday off.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I could support that.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but I am actually pumped about Halloween. coming up
- 3:41Speaker 3: because it falls on a Friday this year or it
- 3:43Speaker 3: falls on a Saturday this year.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 3: So that means we have Friday to go out and Saturday.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I know. And a talking stick is doing wicked ball again.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:51Speaker 2: And Rich and Kyle from the show are, are hosting
- 3:54Speaker 2: the event. Uh, I know that the, you know, they
- 3:58Speaker 2: have their theme. I haven't, I haven't heard.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What the show theme is yet this year.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Yeah, for our Halloween costume.
- 4:05Speaker 1: It feels like.
- 4:07Speaker 2: We start talking about Halloween in January and then update
- 4:12Speaker 2: it in, like, June.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And then we don't figure it out until, like, the
- 4:16Speaker 2: third week of October. Right.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Like, literally when we have to be in costume the
- 4:20Speaker 3: next day and ordering on Amazon like crazy people. I
- 4:23Speaker 3: will say, though, we have had some pretty good Halloween
- 4:27Speaker 3: costumes over the last couple of years. Last year, we
- 4:30Speaker 3: did the Blue Origin crew, the all-female Blue Origin crew.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I thought that was maybe our most creative ever.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that one was fun. We've done superheroes, and we've
- 4:41Speaker 1: done villains. We did the Trump-Harris election year.
- 4:45Speaker 3: The election year was pretty dang good, too, just because
- 4:48Speaker 3: that was so... topical like that was just so what
- 4:52Speaker 3: was happening in that moment and it was so I
- 4:55Speaker 3: mean big for literally everyone I mean it was our
- 4:56Speaker 3: country but I'm excited for this year I am like
- 5:00Speaker 3: kind of like hoping we go superhero off of the.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Spider-Man usually you and Kyle spearhead this and I did
- 5:12Speaker 2: pitch the various Spider-Men from the Spider-Man universe just because
- 5:17Speaker 2: I really want to be Spider-Pig Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I think that's good. But what else? I'm like,
- 5:24Speaker 3: it's so hard because when you think back, there's been
- 5:26Speaker 3: so much stuff that's happened over the year.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 3: But what were the big, big things that really, Taylor
- 5:32Speaker 3: Swift and Travis Kelsey's wedding?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:34Speaker 3: That was huge.
- 5:35Speaker 1: But we don't even, we haven't seen like photos of it.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You know, so it's like, what are you going to do?
- 5:40Speaker 1: Are you going to be Taylor Swift's bridesmaid?
- 5:42Speaker 3: Unless we're all brides and grooms because this was a
- 5:45Speaker 3: year of marriages. Yes. Billie Eilish's brother just got married.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Dua Lipa got married. Taylor Swift got married. Coco Jones
- 5:54Speaker 3: and Donovan Mitchell got married.
- 5:57Speaker 1: You got married. I got married.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I show up in my wedding dress.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You came in like 10.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Selena Gomez got married.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Maybe this is why.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Zendaya and Tom Holland got married.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Maybe this is why Kareem is so.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Adamant that you go by Strickland because you get to
- 6:18Speaker 2: Cindy and Tom Holland before you get. No, you got
- 6:20Speaker 2: to do a leap up before you got to your
- 6:23Speaker 2: own wedding. That's a crazy thing to me.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Listen, it just feels like it happened so long ago.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Happened in March. Yeah. That was like six months ago.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I know.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Should I throw us a half birthday party for being married?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Well, I would assume that you would. If anybody was
- 6:42Speaker 2: going to do it, it would be you. I forgot
- 6:46Speaker 2: to bring it down here. We got a letter in
- 6:49Speaker 2: the mail.
- 6:50Speaker 3: We did?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we joke about it all the time. It's half joking,
- 6:55Speaker 1: half serious.
- 6:56Speaker 2: If you do have a business that you want me
- 6:58Speaker 2: to promote, I will wear your t-shirt on the show.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 2: But we got a letter this week from somebody who
- 7:07Speaker 2: watches every week.
- 7:09Speaker 1: No way.
- 7:09Speaker 2: And gave us a list of like 30 different like
- 7:15Speaker 2: vintage thrift stores.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Oh, get out.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And it made me so happy because it was broken
- 7:22Speaker 2: down in like areas.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And then also like what you go to each store for.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Okay. Well, this is almost so local. So like after
- 7:32Speaker 3: the break, You're going to go run, get that letter,
- 7:34Speaker 3: and we're going to go over it.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Listen, we'll just go through each and every one of them.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Not each and every one of them, just some of them.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It's like four pages, and it's awesome.
- 7:43Speaker 3: That's epic.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I apologize for not having your name, but thank you
- 7:47Speaker 2: for sending us that. It made my heart just flutter.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I need to go thrifting for the iHeartRadio Musical Festival
- 7:55Speaker 3: next weekend.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Is the musical festival different than the music festival?
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah, they're going to all go into all of the musicals.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They're just doing hairspray for three hours.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 1: We've got more Arizona Spin.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I can't stand you.
- 8:08Speaker 2: We've got more Arizona Spin coming up right here on
- 8:11Speaker 2: Fox 10+. Welcome back to Arizona Spin right here. on
- 8:17Speaker 2: Fox 10+. My name is Nicholas Johnson. Joining me is
- 8:22Speaker 2: Peyton Strickland from the John Jay.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And Rich Show.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Is that supposed to be like your ASMR voice?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Did I sound good?
- 8:28Speaker 3: I mean, it just sounded like, I mean, you know,
- 8:31Speaker 3: in like the olden days where they would do like
- 8:33Speaker 3: those phone calls and it would be like someone salacious
- 8:35Speaker 3: on the phone? That's what you sounded like.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Like Chris Hansen?
- 8:39Speaker 3: Did he do that?
- 8:40Speaker 1: Okay, anyway.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Who's Chris Hansen?
- 8:42Speaker 2: For a long time, you brought up the Robert Pattinson movie.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he's playing Chris Hansen.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Oh, really? Wait, so who's Chris Hansen?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Chris Hansen did To Catch a Predator.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Oh, yes, because what's that movie called?
- 8:57Speaker 1: To Catch a Predator.
- 8:58Speaker 3: No, it's the movie. Oh, my gosh, yes, but it
- 9:00Speaker 3: has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It comes out on the 25th.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's supposed to be.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Price Fine or something like that?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Like maybe the price of Dateline.
- 9:10Speaker 3: No, something like that. Anyways, that does look really good.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Speaking of Catch a Predator. No, I'm kidding.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I was going to say.
- 9:21Speaker 1: What the heck? No, no. It was actually.
- 9:24Speaker 2: This has sidetracked me in so many ways.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Just looking over my list of things here.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And the first thing I've listed is John Jay and
- 9:35Speaker 2: Rich are giving away.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And Kiss is giving away Disneyland tickets all week.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Again this week. And I was fortunate enough to go
- 9:44Speaker 2: last weekend. And you know those people that you see
- 9:52Speaker 2: in lines or in public and you're like, I just
- 9:55Speaker 2: know you're going to annoy me. Let me go through
- 9:57Speaker 2: the scenario with you. Okay.
- 9:59Speaker 1: We're in line. for Peter Pan.
- 10:01Speaker 3: One of the best rides ever. When you're on the
- 10:04Speaker 3: boat and you're flying over all the stars.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And it's like, it's a magical experience and we're in
- 10:10Speaker 2: line and it's like.
- 10:11Speaker 1: A 45 minute wait. Okay. We, we will wait 45
- 10:16Speaker 1: minutes for Peter Pan.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I'm not going to do it for, the Pinocchio ride,
- 10:19Speaker 2: but I'll do it.
- 10:19Speaker 1: For Peter Pan.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And when we're in line, I had spotted this, this
- 10:24Speaker 2: young woman, uh, like as soon as we got in
- 10:27Speaker 2: line and I just knew, I was like, if I
- 10:31Speaker 2: hear her talk, I'm going to get annoyed.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Sure enough, we get to about three quarters of the
- 10:37Speaker 1: way through.
- 10:37Speaker 2: The line and I hear her go, you know, if
- 10:41Speaker 2: you rewatch Peter Pan, he's kind of the villain of
- 10:45Speaker 2: the story. And I got so angry. Because I was
- 10:49Speaker 2: just like, I know what you're doing. You're trying to
- 10:53Speaker 2: elicit a reaction to, like, with the friends that you're
- 10:57Speaker 2: in line with. But in what world is Captain Hook
- 11:01Speaker 2: not the villain of Peter Pan? He was trying to
- 11:06Speaker 2: kill children the entire movie.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I actually... He also... Hold on. He also kidnapped.
- 11:15Speaker 2: an indigenous princess from a native tribe in Neverland. And
- 11:22Speaker 2: so how is Captain Hook not the villain? Maybe Peter
- 11:25Speaker 2: Pan wasn't a perfect soul, but to call him the villain,
- 11:30Speaker 2: I think is short-sighted and also stupid.
- 11:34Speaker 3: That's a really interesting, I mean, you're pretty fired up
- 11:37Speaker 3: about the lore.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Oh, I've been fired up for a week.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Peter Pan right there. But I feel like I have
- 11:42Speaker 3: gone down the rabbit hole of Peter Pan isn't exactly
- 11:45Speaker 3: who he says he is and Captain Hook is actually
- 11:47Speaker 3: trying to save all the lost boys because Peter Pan
- 11:50Speaker 3: doesn't want the lost boys to grow up because he
- 11:53Speaker 3: himself doesn't want to grow up and at the end
- 11:55Speaker 3: of the day, he's kind of the bad guy because
- 11:57Speaker 3: he's the one that's actually keeping all the lost boys kidnapped.
- 12:01Speaker 3: It's a legit rabbit hole.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure it is.
- 12:04Speaker 3: It's like the same thing with the Winnie the Pooh
- 12:06Speaker 3: and it's like the seven deadly sins.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I don't know what that is.
- 12:11Speaker 2: But I have a feeling that I'm going to get
- 12:13Speaker 2: more irritated by.
- 12:14Speaker 1: It if I hear any more. Actually, I think you might.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Get disturbed a little bit more with the Peter Pan one.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Or with the Winnie the Pooh. Just because it's like, huh.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I mean, Winnie the Pooh, he's like a glutton.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yes. Which is one of the seven deadly sins.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yeah. And Tigger is jumping everywhere. One of the seven
- 12:35Speaker 1: deadly sins.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Don't fact check me.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I'm just saying I went down that TikTok rabbit hole.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I will say, though, everyone at Disneyland over the Labor
- 12:47Speaker 3: Day weekend, it was like almost every other Instagram story
- 12:51Speaker 3: that I was seeing. I was like, dang, Disneyland is popping.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it was busy. It wasn't so crowded that we
- 12:56Speaker 2: didn't have a good time.
- 13:04Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 13:05Speaker 2: Like, it was busy, and actually we kind of lucked
- 13:08Speaker 2: out in a weird way because it rained, like, when
- 13:11Speaker 2: we were at Disneyland. And so all the lines, like,
- 13:14Speaker 2: we walked on, like, the Star Wars rides with, like,
- 13:19Speaker 2: 20-minute waits. Oh, that's nice. So, like, that stuff, like,
- 13:23Speaker 2: and my kids, God bless them, were excellent. Like, they
- 13:26Speaker 2: did not complain at all about the rain.
- 13:29Speaker 1: They were just like, okay, we'll just go do what
- 13:32Speaker 1: we need to do.
- 13:33Speaker 2: The only thing that they, The only thing we wanted
- 13:36Speaker 2: to do and they were out on was Tiana's wild ride.
- 13:41Speaker 3: They didn't want to go to the bayou?
- 13:42Speaker 2: Well, they didn't want to go because my son was
- 13:47Speaker 2: worried about his shoes.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Oh, getting wet?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and I was like, dude.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Take your shoes off.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I was like, yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I was like, I brought you extra shoes, extra socks,
- 13:55Speaker 2: and a pair of sandals.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And he was like, I'm still going to get, my
- 13:59Speaker 1: feet are still going to get wet. I was like,
- 14:00Speaker 1: all right, brother. Whatever you, whatever. Whatever.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Let me have a talking to with Theo next time
- 14:06Speaker 3: I see him.
- 14:06Speaker 1: No, no, you should.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Put some respect on my favorite princess's name.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Can you also tell him how to smile for school pictures?
- 14:13Speaker 2: Because he tucked his lip underneath his teeth.
- 14:19Speaker 1: And I don't understand what happened.
- 14:22Speaker 2: We did have one pretty significant magical moment, though. As
- 14:26Speaker 2: we were on our way out, all day we'd been
- 14:29Speaker 2: promising them, we're going to get you teeth. like two
- 14:32Speaker 2: toys for being so great all day and whatever. And
- 14:36Speaker 2: then when we're on our way out, like all the
- 14:38Speaker 2: stores are closed. They're all closed. Apparently somebody was trying to.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Thief and you're going to steal it.
- 14:44Speaker 3: The happiest place on earth.
- 14:45Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 14:47Speaker 2: But we walked into the final store, which is just
- 14:50Speaker 2: a hat store. And my kids are bummed. They're not crying,
- 14:53Speaker 2: but they're bummed. And the, uh, the, the cast member
- 14:58Speaker 2: came up and was like.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Come with me. Did you guys meet any friends today?
- 15:02Speaker 1: came around the corner. There's Mickey Mouse and Pluto, and
- 15:05Speaker 1: they're in their Halloween gear. It was incredible. It was
- 15:08Speaker 1: just so sweet.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I love when you get to see the characters out
- 15:12Speaker 3: and about really quick. I went to Disneyland Paris a
- 15:14Speaker 3: couple years ago when I turned 15.
- 15:17Speaker 2: What?
- 15:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it was actually really cool. It was my 15th
- 15:19Speaker 3: birthday present. My grandma's super dope. Anyways, at Disneyland Paris,
- 15:22Speaker 3: I think the specific day that we got there, they
- 15:25Speaker 3: had all the villains out, and there was no lines.
- 15:27Speaker 3: They didn't have specific spaces, so you would literally... Just
