glute injury Written by Anne M. Peterson. This article is being ready

• 0:21
will play Sunday against the Washington Commanders after he missed Seattle's last
• 0:26
game with a glute injury he suffered in the season opener. Sam's
• 0:31
going to play. He's ready to go. He's done a great job,
• 0:33
Coach Mike MacDonald said Friday. Darnold was injured on the Seahawks first
• 0:38
series of their season opening 1310 victory over the Patriots. Backup Drew
• 0:43
Locke took over and started last Sunday's 31-7 win at Arizona. Darnell
• 0:48
did not miss a game last season as he led the Seahawks
• 0:51
to a Super Bowl title. He threw for four thousand and forty
• 0:54
eight yards, with twenty five touchdowns and fourteen interceptions, as Seattle won
• 0:59
a franchise re record fourteen regular season games. He looks great. We're
• 1:04
rolling. It's a medical miracle that he's back, Macdonald said. There were
• 1:08
worries after Darnold was sacked by New England's Draymont Jones in the
• 1:13
opener. Darnold sought treatment on the sidelines before limping to the locker
• 1:17
room and heading to the hospital. At first Darnold was believed to
• 1:21
have a hip injury, but an MRI later ruled that out. He
• 1:24
returned to practice Wednesday. A lot of different emotions, a lot of
• 1:29
possibilities, in terms of how long I would be, out and possibilities
• 1:33
of different injuries. Darnold said Thursday about his mindset following the injury.
• 1:38
The Seahawks two zero have been just fine so far with Locke,
• 1:41
who has thrown four touchdown passes, all to star receiver Jackson Smith
• 1:45
Nigba. Locke is a baller, Darnold said. Went out there, played well,
• 1:50
happy for him, and it was cool, cool to see his process
• 1:53
throughout the week, and how he attacked it. To go out there
• 1:56
and perform the way that he did, it was no surprise. Macdonald
• 2:00
also said Friday that Safety Julian Love would not play at the
• 2:03
Commanders, after his calf tightened up during practice Thursday. Love has had
• 2:08
interceptions in each of the Seahawks first two games. MacDonald did not
• 2:13
know how long Love would be out. Safety AJ Finley was brought
• 2:16
up to the fifty three man active roster for the game. Finley
• 2:20
was among the final roster cuts for the Seahawks going into this
• 2:23
season, but he was re signed to the practice squad a day
• 2:26
later. He's on it now. He's as sharp as a whip, and
• 2:28
he's a great communicator, ball skill all those things, MacDonald said. I'm
• 2:32
excited for him to have the opportunity. See the AP's full NFL
