Van Johnson Crashes the Double Date
Aired: Mar 20th, 1949. Van Johnson joins the gang for a Saturday rehearsal that spirals into chaos when Rochester dials a fish market instead of the guest star, and Mary takes the scenic route from Beverly Hills by way of San Diego to pick Van up. Along the way, Jack gets ribbed for his cheapness, Don Wilson brags about his own fan mail, and the whole cast trades barbs before the show even starts. A classic slice of Benny ensemble comedy, built on wrong numbers, wounded egos, and impeccably timed insults.
