- 0:02Another week and another bear spreadsheet.
- 0:07Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm with your hosts Matt, Luke and
- 0:15Dan. Multiple Nerdgasm, your guide to
- 0:20all things nerdy. I did what I could, mate, I
- 0:31think what I could. I don't know what's going on
- 0:32with the world in that. The news is just not interesting
- 0:34to me anymore. Are we getting old it?
- 0:36Might be that I, I also think it's just the beginning of the
- 0:39year and everything's just quiet though Hopefully it's although,
- 0:42well, politics is still a thing that's that's popping off, but I
- 0:45don't pay attention to that. I've noticed, I mean, I don't
- 0:49have a problem with this because I think, you know, it's fair,
- 0:53but a lot of the tech sites, like most of the content at the
- 0:56moment is, is political. And I have a lot of people
- 1:00complaining about in the comments.
- 1:01And it's just like, yeah, that is kind of what's that's kind of
- 1:04all that's happening at the moment.
- 1:07Oh, you went into the comments. You're brave.
- 1:11It's almost like I see an article like, say, The Virgin in
- 1:14particular. I see an article, I read the
- 1:18headline and I go the comments are just going to be people
- 1:21going, why is this on a tech news website maybe man.
- 1:24And I'm like, it's their freaking website mate.
- 1:27They can do what they want do. Whatever they want.
- 1:29Yeah, And if they want to lose readers of money.
- 1:33Although you still clicked on the side.
- 1:35They've they want to make a stand and say where this is how
- 1:38we feel about, you know, there's plenty of tech websites that
- 1:43won't do that. Yeah, you know, it's fine.
- 1:47But there's enough in here we can talk.
- 1:49Yeah, true. Also the Fedge has a paywall
- 1:51now. When did that happen?
- 1:53I don't like that again. That's a modern thing where Yes,
- 1:58Yeah. Well, everyone's called ad
- 2:00blockers these days, so they're not making money off ads.
- 2:03Yes, because they actually don't work anymore.
- 2:04You know, we've been smart. We've just never had ads.
- 2:07So we don't know. We just don't know.
- 2:10My Pixel I found out actually has an ad blocker by default.
- 2:15There's one site I go to every now and again and it goes hey
- 2:18you've got an ad blocker on, turn it off like you're hiding
- 2:21ads on. No, I'm not.
- 2:23Yeah, yeah, because you're a, you're a, you're an ad friendly.
- 2:27Reader, Yeah, yeah, I'm quite happy.
- 2:30You want to throw ad ad. Device that I set up in my house
- 2:34on a Raspberry Pi. I've got a pie.
- 2:36It's called a pie hole and all my traffic goes through it
- 2:40including this very recording and it'll it'll fuck your ads
- 2:44off mate. I do not want to see them.
- 2:46The only ads I don't like are the ones where they force you to
- 2:51play a video or watch a video and it keeps popping back up to
- 2:54go you've read enough, I'm going to play another video.
- 2:57No screw that. But if you want to post some
- 2:59pictures up there and a link, go for it.
- 3:01Doesn't. Bother.
- 3:02Oh, I don't mind that actually. And it wasn't there a period
- 3:04where websites did that? There was There wasn't an ad
- 3:07network. I'm going to guess that it
- 3:10didn't, didn't last, but there was an ad network where it was
- 3:12like we will only do ads that aren't fucking annoying.
- 3:15It was just like text ads or like an image or whatever.
- 3:19And then there was a period of that, but.
- 3:21But I guess I found out I. Guess not profitable.
- 3:23Yeah, they have. Too easy to ignore.
- 3:27Yes, they need. You they need to like, force you
- 3:30like Clockwork Orange style to like stare at the fucking ad.
- 3:34And it's annoying when they're not targeted ads.
- 3:36I it's even worse. Give me targeted ads at least.
- 3:39Dentists hate this trick. Those ones are like she lost
- 3:445000 lbs by doing this one thing.
- 3:47There's one thing I don't understand is a lot of time I'll
- 3:49see ads that are complete, like they're a complete scam.
- 3:54Yeah, but they're being put on by Google, you Adsense and stuff
- 3:58like Google. So you're not even filtering the
- 4:01ads you're allowing me out there because this is no just a full
- 4:05on scam. But they wouldn't let us
- 4:06advertise this podcast. Yes, at one point, if you recall
- 4:09my Adsense account, Adsense, whatever it was Adsense ad.
- 4:13What's the one where you buy ads anyway?
- 4:16They like, restricted our account.
- 4:19Yeah, because they said we had. I can't remember why when I
- 4:25talked to them, it was a mistake, but it's just like,
- 4:27yeah. But yeah, like one of the ones
- 4:29big ones they've got here is they'll have like Guy Sebastian
- 4:32in trouble for announcing the truth or something.
- 4:35And you go through it and it's he accidentally let slip of a
- 4:39crypto trading thing that'll get you rich super quickly and the
- 4:43banks will try to keep it hush hush.
- 4:44And he's been arrested for it. I'm so like, it's not how the
- 4:51world works. No.
- 4:53And now you get Facebook messages from James Hetfield or
- 4:57Johnny Depp asking you for money.
- 5:00Yeah. And then, yeah.
- 5:03Telling you how much they love you all.
- 5:07Right. Elon Musk needs more money to
- 5:08buy Tesla shares or something stupid like that.
- 5:11Yeah, richest man in the world contacting the complete stranger
- 5:14on Facebook. Yeah.
- 5:15The Internet. Hasn't stated cash well that's
- 5:19that's really a lot of wonderful things about it is is people
- 5:22believe it I. Know well we have got some news
- 5:27you've got as much news as we like to have often No, I I might
- 5:33have I noticed you put something in and then it got mangled so
- 5:37I'm going to put it back in here the movie you watched do you
- 5:42want to talk about it? So I forced myself to stay up
- 5:45last night and go through movies and I went and saw the Bone
- 5:48Temple. You've stayed up tonight as
- 5:50well. Yes.
- 5:51Yeah, OK. The Bone Temple.
- 5:54It's not as good as the first one, I'll give it that.
- 5:57Really. It's, it's different.
- 6:00It's I wished I had because. It's gotten better reviews than
- 6:03the first one. I wish I had explained some more
- 6:07things. OK.
- 6:09I think could work but the ending though.
- 6:13No, it doesn't matter. I'll see it, but yeah.
- 6:14The ending. The ending is.
- 6:19I really want the third one now after the ending.
- 6:21Oh, it's a cliffhanger. Yes, OK.
- 6:25And yeah, it's sort of a minor spoiler, but something that
- 6:31people believed was happening in the first one, maybe of me
- 6:33happening in the third one. OK.
- 6:39Oh, OK. Wait.
- 6:44Oh, all right. All right.
- 6:45OK. I think I know what you mean.
- 6:46I can just say it, but he has been out long enough.
- 6:49It was Kelly Murphy going to show up or something?
- 6:51Yes. How?
- 6:53He is, he's he's there. He's actually in the ending.
- 6:58He's alive. And so I mean, spoil up, yeah,
- 7:03it's only 28 years he's alive and he's gone.
- 7:07I think it might be his son goes, they see people running
- 7:11and he sometimes should we help them And then you see him gear
- 7:15up and that's how the movie ends.
- 7:17Right, all right. So unless it's just a just a
- 7:22little cameo, but yeah, it really looks like it's setting
- 7:27that up for the third. One, I suppose that's right.
- 7:29Yeah, Actually, it's been about that, hasn't it?
- 7:31Yeah, Converse one came out all right, fine.
- 7:33Yeah, and there was ashamed. Like there was actually a really
- 7:40nice story happening between the Doctor and stuff and that gets
- 7:42messed up and the Doctor and the alpha.
- 7:47Right. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:50And the doctor's still been working on a cure all this time.
- 7:52And. But then you got the Power
- 7:55Rangers, which has just confused me.
- 7:58Oh. Yeah.
- 7:58So the tone of that at the end was a bit strange.
- 8:00Is it? How does that?
- 8:01It's not like that. The tone sort of goes back to
- 8:05normal. I don't understand that bit.
- 8:08At the end, it doesn't matter. I guess it's the decision that
- 8:11he made. But yes, you know.
- 8:13Like, they're still all wearing the same blonde wig in the same
- 8:17yeah, but the clothes aren't as colourful anymore.
- 8:20And it really just feels like, yeah.
- 8:23They film up at the same time. That's such a strange.
- 8:27I think you're going for a shock factor at the end of it.
- 8:31Yeah. Because the the first one was
- 8:33came from nowhere. Yeah, like the ending was.
- 8:37What it was to the point where I knew about it, right, Because
- 8:40you had you'd told us because I'd waited way too long to watch
- 8:44that movie. And so we talked about it and
- 8:46everyone online was talking about it because everyone was
- 8:47like, what the fuck is this ending?
- 8:49And I was watching the movie and I forgot because the movie's so
- 8:52good. I really liked it.
- 8:54And then it got to this. It was like wrapping up and like
- 8:58the kids walking up the road and I was like, that's right, it's
- 9:01about to get fucking weird. And it did.
- 9:04And it did. Even knowing about it, I was
- 9:07like. But yeah, and then it sort of
- 9:09not this very strange it. So it goes back to the normal
- 9:13tone and you find out more about them.
- 9:17But I wish I knew more about the actual idea about them.
- 9:20Well, there's probably is something that's there that I've
- 9:22just missed. Sure, because you're a
- 9:26simpleton. Yes, but no.
- 9:28Definitely go see it if you can. OK.
- 9:32And hopefully we get the third one.
- 9:34Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because I know the 1st 2
- 9:38they were back-to-back and I think that may have even had
- 9:40something to do like Wiki, a film, we might as well do it.
- 9:42But also the kid was a certain age, right?
- 9:47And you know, kids at that age, they grow up and change look
- 9:51very quickly sometimes. Yeah, like a Stranger Things.
- 9:58I finished Stranger Things as well.
- 10:00Oh, did you? What did you think?
- 10:02You watched all of it? Pushed all of it.
- 10:03I don't see what the problem is with the ending.
- 10:06I I actually I do know what the problem is with the ending.
- 10:08People didn't get the fairy tale at all wanting.
- 10:11No, that's right. It just wasn't specifically what
- 10:13what they were hoping for. The part where will comes out
- 10:17which. Individual thing.
- 10:18Wasn't. Yeah, but the part where Will
- 10:21comes out, I thought, actually, I actually quite like that
- 10:25scene. And I like the fact that it
- 10:26wasn't Mike that was the first one to go not don't worry about
- 10:29it, it's all right. Mike actually sat.
- 10:31It actually showed him there for a minute going, hold on, he's
- 10:34talking about me. Yeah, right.
- 10:37I mean, everyone else starts to go.
- 10:38It's OK. And then he comes in.
- 10:39I actually thought that was a good way to handle it because
- 10:43Mike would have been back then in the 80s, might have be gone.
- 10:46Hold on. Yeah, He he's he's talking about
- 10:48me, isn't he? Yeah.
- 10:50Yeah, I know there's been a lot of jokes about how, you know,
- 10:53they're more accepting of it than they would actually have
- 10:56been in the 80s, and that's probably true, but like.
- 10:59Probably true, but also, you know, it's not.
- 11:01They're fighting monsters. Exactly.
- 11:04It's not like kind of show, what are they?
- 11:06It's not an exploration of, you know, what it was like to be gay
- 11:10in the 80s. Like it was a, it was actually
- 11:15kind of a, an odd plot point. And it's interesting that they
- 11:19found a way to tie it in like, because it became relevant,
- 11:23because that's, you know, a lot of complaints about these
- 11:26things. The, you know, people whinge.
- 11:27Oh, you know, what are they putting, you know, a gay
- 11:30character in for? What do we need to have?
- 11:32Which I think is a weird complaint because it's there's
- 11:35all kinds of people and then they're going to be in things
- 11:38like characters are going to be that.
- 11:42But this was relevant. They made like, well, made it
- 11:45relevant. I don't know whether they always
- 11:47had intended to, but yeah. But still my two favorite
- 11:53characters, Steve and oh, was it Derek?
- 11:57Derek. Dustin, Dustin, their story arc,
- 12:01I love that. I think it meant Derek Isn't the
- 12:04new kid named Derek. The little kid with the glasses?
- 12:07Yeah, Shit, Derek. Did shoot Derek.
- 12:09Yeah. That's why I got confused.
- 12:09Not Dustin, Steve, they just. I love that relationship.
- 12:15Yeah, that's fair. You know, it's good.
- 12:18Can't believe he was going to be killed off first season.
- 12:23People liked him too much. Yeah, I'm so happy that he
- 12:26didn't kill him off because I don't know, his character really
- 12:29did grow a lot from I'm just going to bone every chick
- 12:31around, yeah, to then the babysitter.
- 12:36Yes, yes, I know. Yeah, he did.
- 12:39He had quite an arc. But the ending?
- 12:42No, I actually think it possibly leaves itself open for more in
- 12:49the future. Yeah.
- 12:51A spin off. There's a spin off.
- 12:53There is a spin off coming. There's a an animated thing
- 12:57that's coming between 2:00 and 3:00.
- 13:01OK. I don't know much about it.
- 13:04I have read that there's a new character coming in and you know
- 13:07that character's they're definitely going to die.
- 13:11Because the. New character is not spoken
- 13:13about in any of the shows, so that's the sacrificial land.
- 13:17They're going to have to have the stakes high at something.
- 13:20Never mentioned again. Yeah, Yeah.
- 13:24All right. Well, I might watch it.
- 13:26I don't know. I'm watching the night manager
- 13:30season 2. Have you watched the night
- 13:32manager? No man, the Night Manager is
- 13:35fucking excellent. It's really fucking good.
- 13:40It's a like ATV series from a while ago now.
- 13:43When did it the first? It's an adaptation of a novel.
- 13:47Night Manager season 1 came out in.
- 13:52When did it come out 2016? And Season 2 is coming out now.
- 13:58Yeah, because there isn't as I, I don't think I could be wrong
- 14:02about this. I don't think the the second
- 14:06season that we've got now is based on the book or anything.
- 14:09I think the first season was so popular.
- 14:13I mean, it wasn't a season, it was a a series.
- 14:16It was just like a series. Because it's a British.
- 14:18Yeah, it was so popular and it's it's, it's excellent.
- 14:22Like it's really good. So I think they were like, well,
- 14:26we should make more of it. And it is also very good based
- 14:32on a book. Yes.
- 14:35It is based on no, no, the second season, the first season
- 14:38is based on a book. The second season they kind of
- 14:40just expanding on the original and it it's still very good, but
- 14:49it is a little bit like oh, OK, like you it it feels it could
- 14:58just be that. I know that, but it does feel
- 15:00like, oh, OK, we're going to pretend it wasn't all wrapped
- 15:04up, if you know what I mean it. Will not be wrapped up and then
- 15:07there's going to yeah, we. Yeah.
- 15:09And then now they're. 10 years is a long time to wait, even for
- 15:13something that was popular. Well, it's, it's been that long
- 15:17in the in the story, so yeah. Yeah, but I meant to be that
- 15:22they waited 10 years to even make it.
- 15:24Yes. Oh yeah, I know.
- 15:26I must have. Someone must have just.
- 15:28Like normally that doesn't happen because there's been a
- 15:30lot of shows that sort of found popularity again, yeah, like
- 15:33would have hit streaming or something and they don't get a
- 15:36second go around. True.
- 15:39Yeah. Now look, it's still excellent.
- 15:41It's like I said, it's just you've got to kind of go OK,
- 15:44Like there's a couple of things so far that my brain has to
- 15:48smooth over in order for it to just.
- 15:50Forget that that was sorted out. The evidence, like just because
- 15:54it's so grounded, like, well, yeah, it's, it's a realistic
- 15:58show. It's not like a, you know.
- 16:00And so there's a couple of things where I'm like, OK.
- 16:04So if you want more of a hitters to fix.
- 16:07Yeah, yeah. And also, I guess maybe we'll
- 16:12find out that I'm wrong and these these things aren't the
- 16:17kind of a leap that's possible. Yeah, there's a couple of things
- 16:20about this that I'm like, I don't know.
- 16:24But again, maybe we'll find out about what, 3 or 4 episodes in.
- 16:28And then find out six. Episodes wrong and, you know,
- 16:31this has not been actually the case or you know what I mean?
- 16:33Yeah, there's there's still time to reveal that I'm wrong and
- 16:37there's more going on than I've been told so far.
- 16:39Yeah, all right. But I highly recommend it.
- 16:44And there's a film out in cinemas now just in case you
- 16:46want to go see something this week.
- 16:48I don't know if it's screening in Australia, but the hit film
- 16:52Melania is out now. Melania and I, I don't know how
- 16:58true this is because it's the Internet, but I think it
- 17:03particularly if you're in the US, you can get paid to go and
- 17:06watch this according to conspiracy theories on the
- 17:09Internet. Really.
- 17:11Because. Are they that worried about
- 17:14doing that poorly? I, I don't know if this is true,
- 17:18OK, because it's the Internet, but but yeah, yes, there is a, a
- 17:23new film out called Melania. It's literally called a new film
- 17:26Melania 20 Days to History. It's about Trump's wife Melania
- 17:33stars, all of them. Obviously it came out this week.
- 17:38You can get a collectible ticket if you see it on opening
- 17:42weekend. According to the website here
- 17:44and on Reddit people have been posting screenshots, allegedly
- 17:50screenshots from like Craigslist and and and online marketplaces
- 17:55where it says get a free ticket and 50 bucks.
- 17:59Oh wow. If you go and see it this
- 18:01weekend, the opening weekend, and then.
- 18:04So the theory is that no, nobody's pre-ordered any tickets
- 18:07for this and they really want people, they want it to do well,
- 18:11so they're just going to pay people to go see it.
- 18:13Because. I don't know if it's true.
- 18:15I I unfortunately, we've her husband's ego.
- 18:21I can sort of see it. Sure, yeah, but I can also see
- 18:27people faking if that's the case.
- 18:31Because the. Same.
- 18:32I just don't. I just don't know what to
- 18:33believe anymore. Know what I mean?
- 18:36So yeah, anyway, if you were, I don't know if this is out in
- 18:39Australia, maybe not. No, I haven't seen it and I'm
- 18:43just trying to have a look now. It's directed by Brett Ratner,
- 18:49the guy who directed like Rush Hour and X-Men the Third, X-Men,
- 18:55X-Men Three. I think it's just called X-Men
- 18:563. Yeah, that was before they had
- 18:58to have names. Yes.
- 19:03Having a look they are showing on.
- 19:05I should go to tomorrow, not today, because everything you've
- 19:08seen today, you know. Yeah, No, nothing here.
- 19:12I don't think it's coming here. Well, it's made by Amazon.
- 19:17Apparently. Amazon MGM Studios film Melania
- 19:19offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the
- 19:222025 presidential inauguration through the eyes of the First
- 19:25Lady herself. I mean, it could actually be
- 19:30interesting, except I mean, it's almost certainly like, dare I
- 19:38biased? I don't want to say propaganda,
- 19:41even though I've just said that, but I say it's almost certainly
- 19:44biased. It might be interesting with the
- 19:51with the kept in mind the fact that this is potentially not
- 19:55actually real. Yes, it's a reality TV show,
- 19:58movie kind of thing. Yeah.
- 20:01Anyway. Well, that's your homework.
- 20:04You have to go watch. That out this week, I'm not
- 20:06going to watch it. You're not going to go get you
- 20:09collect a ticket. I mean, we'll see.
- 20:17Probably not. I don't have time for that.
- 20:20Oh, that's that's just. But even that's strange.
- 20:23Like any good collectible ticket to go see a movie like this on
- 20:26opening. Weekend, I mean.
- 20:28But then you could make the argument we all wanted a
- 20:31sandworm popcorn bucket. Yeah, but everyone just wanted
- 20:35to put their Dick in that, Yeah. I don't want to put my Dick in a
- 20:37ticket to Melania. Yeah, I really wish I'd gotten
- 20:44that popcorn bucket. So they didn't have it here, I
- 20:47don't think. I told you, the girl from Funcom
- 20:53on, I posted the that video of me encountering it on, I think I
- 21:00bought it on Twitter, right? And she replied, she works at
- 21:03Funcom and it's her popcorn bucket.
- 21:05I think she replied. And she said, oh hey, that's my
- 21:07popcorn bucket. Yeah, that's awesome.
- 21:11Well, I like the guys from Funcom.
- 21:14I fucking like that game mate. So bring in the console version.
- 21:18Oh, so OK, There's an update on June Awakening actually.
- 21:21OK, I'll keep it brief. Yep.
- 21:23Well, I'm still playing it. That's that's part of the
- 21:26update. That's a good update.
- 21:28Chapter 3 of it, so they, you know, they release content.
- 21:31It's an online thing. They're releasing content.
- 21:33Chapter 3 comes out February 5th, I think.
- 21:36And one of the things I mentioned last week, I think I
- 21:40mentioned this on the show about taxes.
- 21:43Yes, how you have to travel to go and pay your taxes each.
- 21:48They take your head out of the game now and instead, because
- 21:53people said it's too, it's annoying that you have to go to
- 21:58because you actually have to go get go, go from your base, say
- 22:04to a settlement somewhere and get a a ride to the capital city
- 22:09and then go and pay the guy. And then if if you don't have
- 22:13much time to play the game. Because you have to do it every
- 22:17week, wasn't it? Basically, yes, yeah, it eats
- 22:20into the time you would get to play the game like it really it
- 22:24does. It's time consuming.
- 22:27And So what happens now is but but the point of it is that it
- 22:30stops people from building stuff and then just leaving.
- 22:33And then the whole map is covered in garbage.
- 22:36People have abandoned, which is I think a good, I think it's a
- 22:38good idea, but it does have another mechanic which I
- 22:42mentioned and they, I think they're just adjusting things.
- 22:44Basically your base needs power for the Shields to work,
- 22:50otherwise it degrades with sandstorms and stuff.
- 22:53And so that's how it'll be managed basically, if you don't
- 22:57log on and power up your base, like put power cells into
- 23:01collect and put power cells into your generators or however
- 23:05you're pairing your bases. If you come back and your base
- 23:06will just be destroyed, yeah. By a sandstorm.
- 23:10Yeah. But yeah, it's not as not as
- 23:11common as having to travel and pay taxes.
- 23:15And it's. Actually, part of the game
- 23:16mechanic is is, you know, you go collect resources because you've
- 23:20got and then one of those resources is power cells and
- 23:23then, and then I don't know. However, I don't know how you
- 23:26get wind turbines. You must have to maintain them
- 23:29or something. You must have to.
- 23:31Yeah, you have to do something, but they're not making it as
- 23:33hard as and then it's at. Your base, it's you have to go,
- 23:37you know, spend an hour travelling, you have to across,
- 23:41you know, worm infested sands. That's fair.
- 23:47Yeah, anyway, highly recommend, it's fun game.
- 23:51As soon as it comes to Xbox or they release 1 I can get
- 23:56achievements on and. While I think of it, we need to
- 24:00get back on the Minecraft server that we still have.
- 24:03Yes, it's been a little while since I've been on there.
- 24:06And also what people have been doing I'm.
- 24:08Gonna try and schedule some time to do that so that I don't
- 24:11forget. I know it sounds stupid but I
- 24:13get distracted. Yes, But yes, I'll get.
- 24:17A lot of big attraction at the moment is Final Fantasy 7.
- 24:21Oh, it's out on Xbox? Yes, finally.
- 24:24And my God, they've added a lot to it.
- 24:27Yeah, Oh yeah, yeah, I've seen videos.
- 24:29Well, the fact that like, the first what hour of the
- 24:33PlayStation game is now a whole fucking game on its own.
- 24:35Yes, like that's what I've noticed because I've like I've
- 24:38every now and again I'll throw on like the old one, I'll put
- 24:41the Windows version of it. I'll go through and I'll play.
- 24:43Yes, and it was a huge game as it was.
- 24:45Yeah. But I can get through that first
- 24:47part where you're in Midgard and when you leave Midgard, that's
- 24:50the sort of the point where I sort of get to where I go.
- 24:52Yeah, no, I'm stopping now. And you can do that in sort of
- 24:54one sit through, yeah, I'm not playing anymore.
- 24:57On my PlayStation without a memory card because my parents
- 24:59bought me a PlayStation and Final Fantasy 7 but not a memory
- 25:02card and I was like fuck it I'm playing it anyway.
- 25:06So I've done that several times. Yeah, well, that's why it does
- 25:10warn you that you should not play this game without a memory
- 25:13card. I knew what I was getting into.
- 25:15I didn't care. I wanted to play it and.
- 25:17It's such a great game. Yeah.
- 25:20Well, it's, it's, it's different.
- 25:22It's taking some getting used to, but there's also a mechanic
- 25:24in there to make it easier for someone who likes wants to rush
- 25:28through. Yes, I can turn some stuff on.
- 25:30I can turn like invincibility on or.
- 25:34Yeah, that'll do it. Infinite magic.
- 25:37All right, All I've done is I've speed up how fast I get XP.
- 25:41Yeah, OK. So yeah, I probably would do
- 25:43that too. That was just the worst part of
- 25:45it. It's the worst part of all those
- 25:46games is grinding. Yeah, so there's still.
- 25:50Panels over and over. Yeah, so and even every now and
- 25:53again, I feel I'm getting too powerful, so I'll switch it off.
- 25:56Oh, OK. And then just once it gets to
- 25:58point to that because, well, when you're 1 hitting
- 26:02everything, it's sort of, yeah, why maybe bothering?
- 26:06Is it on a on game pass or is it just?
- 26:08No, no, I had to buy this. So far I've not regretted
- 26:13cancelling my Game Pass. I'm sorry to say Microsoft,
- 26:16well, I haven't even noticed. Like, well, all you're playing
- 26:20is June, so. Well, yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 26:24And no, but I've bought some Xbox games and played a bit.
- 26:28I just buy them. And yeah, I don't like I said, I
- 26:34don't have time to justify the 5000 games.
- 26:38And like, and at first I was like, oh, I can't play Star
- 26:40Field anymore. I can't do the Indiana Jones
- 26:42DLC. It hasn't come up.
- 26:45I've got time so. That's a shame.
- 26:51I've got all the time in the world and all I did today was
- 26:54sleep. All right, George Lazenby,
- 26:57that's a James Bond reference. Remember that movie?
- 27:02No, no. It's been a long time since I've
- 27:05seen all the bonds. On a Majesty's Secret Service we
- 27:08have all the time in the world. So it's written on his dead
- 27:10wife's gravestone. Oh, that's.
- 27:13Related Movies. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:18I haven't watched fun in a while.
- 27:20I don't know if I've seen a new one.
- 27:22I watched Tomorrow Never Dies recently.
- 27:27Peace frozen. It is not as good as I remember.
- 27:30No. No, it's a bit.
- 27:32Because that's the one that comes after Goldeneye, doesn't
- 27:36it? Yeah, it took me two goes to get
- 27:39through it, just because gold Goldeneye is great.
- 27:43Yeah, yeah, I think I never died.
- 27:45Goldeneye is like perfect Bond movie.
- 27:48Right. Yeah, that right mixture of
- 27:50everything and going from that to yeah, it's always going to be
- 27:54bit of a slog the next one. I'm just yeah, and now I'm like,
- 27:57oh, world's not enough and die another day And he Preston got
- 28:03got the hard done by movies. I think it's like he's good.
- 28:07It's just the movies. They they're in a weird, I don't
- 28:13know, just they're not, they're not my favourites,
- 28:15unfortunately. I like him as Bond.
- 28:18Yeah. They're just, yeah.
- 28:22Did we discuss Desmond Llewellyn's, You know?
- 28:26Q Did we talk about this? I don't think so.
- 28:30Yeah, OK. I found this out because I was
- 28:32like, you remember he he's not in them obviously anymore.
- 28:35Yeah. And he was he's not in.
- 28:37I think he's not in Die Another Day.
- 28:39But you know, he's he was Q from all the way from from Russia
- 28:44with love up until I think the world is not enough or possibly
- 28:48tomorrow never dies. I'll find out this week when I
- 28:50watch the world isn't Enough. Yeah.
- 28:52And then So why do you think he's not in them anymore?
- 28:54Do. You want more money?
- 28:57Well, no, no, no. OK.
- 28:58That's not not the case. He was old.
- 29:01So what do you think he died? I always assumed he just died.
- 29:05Yeah, right. And he did.
- 29:08But how do you think he died? It's worse.
- 29:11It's the most. It's more tragic than you're
- 29:13probably thinking. Oh, I don't really want to know
- 29:15then what happened. Desmond Llewellyn, who he was on
- 29:20his way home, driving himself home from a convention, doing
- 29:24signings and stuff and someone just hit him a head on
- 29:28collision. Oh God.
- 29:30And he was like, was he like 80 something?
- 29:32And he died And I was like, oh fuck.
- 29:36So I didn't know that. Just I didn't know.
- 29:38That's how I just knew he died. I didn't know that's how he
- 29:40died. So out there being good by the
- 29:43fans, still doing stuff for them and then just driving home after
- 29:47and. He was.
- 29:48He fought in World War Two. He was he he.
- 29:54In 1940, his unit was engaged in fighting an entire Panzer
- 29:57division for several days near the French city of Lille, but
- 30:00they were overrun attempting to retreat to Dunkirk, and
- 30:02Llewellyn was captured. He spent the remainder of the
- 30:04war in a prisoner of war camp. This guy.
- 30:09And then he was fucking Q in James Bond for like 50 years.
- 30:12And then some idiot just drove into him.
- 30:17Collided head on with the Fiat Bravo in East Sussex and died at
- 30:23the age of 85. That's a life.
- 30:29I know, I don't know. I just, it just blew my mind
- 30:31that that's that's what happened.
- 30:33He was, he was heading home from a book signing event.
- 30:36Sorry. And yeah, tragically anyway.
- 30:43But let's take it awake far too early.
- 30:46Too late. No, there's only one candidate
- 30:49this week. And everyone, everybody
- 30:50listening knows who it is. I guarantee it.
- 30:54Nobody doesn't know about this. But.
- 30:56You're going to have to wait for the after party for that.
- 30:59Yeah, did you watch the Masters of the Universe trailer?
- 31:05I did. What did you think of it?
- 31:11I thought he Man was meant to be big and strong.
- 31:15Look, that's the one thing about He man.
- 31:17He is jacked. He is sure.
- 31:22Yeah, he's not in this. He, I mean, the guy's muscley.
- 31:28Like I've seen, I've seen a shot of him.
- 31:30And I mean, I mean most muscley than me.
- 31:33Needs to be jacked. Yeah.
- 31:36But also, but is at least it's going to be different.
- 31:39It is different to the first one, yes, that he's actually
- 31:43going to. Well, he starts off on Earth
- 31:47from the looks of it from this one.
- 31:49Yes, that's going to say he's going to what?
- 31:52Well, he's going to look. He's going to go.
- 31:55I have the power. Oh yeah, he didn't do that.
- 31:58He does that. He does that.
- 31:59The Dolph Lundgren 1. Do you know, I don't remember
- 32:01him? I don't remember him playing the
- 32:02musical instrument a lot. The yeah, the key key.
- 32:06Yeah, yeah, that was ridiculous. I love that movie.
- 32:09I haven't watched it in a long time.
- 32:12Maybe, maybe I should never watch it again.
- 32:13You should never watch it again. The very fond memories of it.
- 32:17Maybe I should never watch it again.
- 32:18It's got Courtney Cox in it. Yes, I think it was a sort of
- 32:21first role. Yeah, yeah, I thought this
- 32:27looked bad. Yeah, but I mean, it could also
- 32:31be I could also see old man now and I'm not fun.
- 32:35I don't know. I've not I've not watched any He
- 32:38man stuff since the Dolph Lundgren movie.
- 32:41Yes, maybe that's the problem. I watched the cartoons as a kid
- 32:44and then the movie came out and then I did watch the movie again
- 32:47later in life and regretted it. Yeah, OK.
- 32:51And then I grew up and I just have memories of what he man is.
- 32:54Yep. And add to sell us toys.
- 32:58Literally, yeah. Same with Transformers.
- 33:02Yep, that's all they were back then.
- 33:03They were just way to get round advertising restrictions and
- 33:06making buy stuff. Yep.
- 33:09Yeah. And then they didn't realize.
- 33:11We've talked about this before, Transformers in particular, they
- 33:14didn't realize kids actually cared about the characters.
- 33:18And then they killed a bunch of people off in the movie, and
- 33:20everybody freaked out. And they're like, oh, you guys
- 33:23like these stupid robots? Because they killed a lot of
- 33:28people off the opening sequence. Yeah.
- 33:30Well, yeah. So they could make more toys.
- 33:32Yeah. They were like, we'll just kill
- 33:34them all and make new ones, and then we'll have more toys.
- 33:36That's how we cycle through them.
- 33:38But then all the kids were like Optimus Prime.
- 33:40And they're like, oh, oh, OK. OK, well, we'll bring off we.
- 33:44Accidentally made a a a story people liked.
- 33:50Yeah, I don't know this looks. I mean, it might be fine, it's
- 33:54just. I can I can see so from what
- 33:56I've. Got to say like.
- 33:58His mother is worried about him so sends him off to earth,
- 34:03right? To be, yeah, sort of.
- 34:05Protect work. As a accountant, yeah, or
- 34:08something. And then?
- 34:09Oh, there's been some controversy about he has
- 34:12pronouns on his desk, but like it's he him.
- 34:17I think it's a joke because he's he man.
- 34:20Like I don't know that it's trying to be super woke or
- 34:23anything I think. I don't know.
- 34:25I know some places out there are places out there that do have
- 34:29that and stuff, but no. No, I know that.
- 34:31I know that, but I think I think it's supposed to be a joke
- 34:35because he's he man, man, right? Surely that's why it's funny
- 34:40like. It's yeah.
- 34:41It's not supposed to piss anybody off.
- 34:43It's just a. No, it's not a why.
- 34:45Why doesn't everyone think everyone's out to get them?
- 34:47Yeah, I don't know. I was just, people were whinging
- 34:49about it and I was like, no, no, I think it's just a joke, mate.
- 34:52Don't worry about it. I have a feeling the movie
- 34:54though is going for comedy. Oh definitely, it seems.
- 34:58Like it's definitely going for loss.
- 35:00Yeah, and we got to see Jared Leto as Skeletor and it just
- 35:05looks like CGI, so I don't care. I'm also.
- 35:09I don't know why I. Have I wonder how many hundreds
- 35:11of hours of filming they've got extra of Jared letters who do
- 35:15what he. See him being Skeletor in
- 35:17character. I kind of what crazy things you
- 35:21need on set. Yeah, what does Skeletor do
- 35:25just. Laughs a lot and.
- 35:27Laughs a lot, runs away. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:31All right. You got to see Grey Skull.
- 35:34Yep, swords in it. Yep.
- 35:38Yeah, that was a bit weird. Is this the swords on a on a
- 35:43display thing or something? Yeah, I don't know.
- 35:44It's just the tone of it. I was just like, oh, OK.
- 35:47I mean, I don't know what I was expecting.
- 35:48It's fucking he, man. But.
- 35:49Yeah, I I have a feeling that this movie's not targeted at us,
- 35:53even though, right. It should be playing on AL
- 35:56nostalgia because yeah, where it was that grew up with.
- 35:59It well, the problem is I I don't remember he man.
- 36:02Maybe this is exactly accurate. I just don't remember so I
- 36:06think. I also don't know how his
- 36:08parents didn't know he was he man.
- 36:11Did they not? No.
- 36:13Isn't he Adam the Prince of Eternia or something?
- 36:16Yeah, he was Adam the Prince and then looked exactly like he man
- 36:20and got the same pet. Yeah, but he's got no shirt on
- 36:26like Superman takes the glasses. Glasses off.
- 36:30Adam takes the shirt off. Yeah, everyone's too busy
- 36:32looking at his pecs. OK.
- 36:34Hey, man. I'll probably go see it.
- 36:40Yeah, I probably won't. I'll probably watch it at some
- 36:42point, but I won't go see it I don't think.
- 36:46Yeah, I'm going to the movies a lot more these days.
- 36:50I don't see something I do like this week.
- 36:52I really wanted to go see Predator Badlands, but I wanted
- 36:54to see it with, I wanted to watch it with Jenna.
- 36:55And then now it's too late for the movies.
- 36:58But yeah, I want to watch that. Because they go through the
- 37:01movie cycle seems to be very quick these days.
- 37:05Yeah, and it's going to get quicker too because I think
- 37:07Netflix is buying a lot of I mean, then they just try to buy
- 37:11Warner or whatever. So and I'm assuming they will
- 37:18cycle through it quicker because they want to get it on the
- 37:20Netflix right. They don't necessarily want to
- 37:22use. Oh, do you know what?
- 37:23I saw a clip the other day. So Ben Affleck and Matt Damon
- 37:28are on. We're on Joe Rogan recently and.
- 37:32They haven't been sick of them for a while.
- 37:34Yeah, well, they're in that new movie together now.
- 37:37The the RIP or something. Oh, I.
- 37:39Didn't know that, yeah. They're going to movie out
- 37:41together. And so they were on there and
- 37:43there was a clip that I saw. It was interesting.
- 37:45It was them talking about Netflix changing movies
- 37:50basically. And how I think as Matt Damon
- 37:53was saying, like they the traditional stuff, the way that
- 37:58you would traditionally do a movie is kind of, it's all
- 38:01changing now. Because he was like you used to
- 38:03have like you'd have three big action set pieces in a movie and
- 38:06they would escalate and the big one would be at the end and
- 38:09you'd spend all your money on the one at the end.
- 38:10And he said, But now when you do something for Netflix, they come
- 38:13back and they go, OK, well we need to add a big action set
- 38:17piece in the 1st 5 minutes. They want to capture people at
- 38:20the start. We need people to, to, to say,
- 38:22Oh yeah, actually I will watch this.
- 38:24Yeah, like if it if nothing happens for an hour, they'll
- 38:27switch to something else. And then they're like, oh, OK,
- 38:30yeah, I guess so. And then also, he said, they
- 38:34also tell you you need to reiterate the plot pretty
- 38:37constantly throughout because people are going to be on their
- 38:39phones. And then they're like, oh, fuck
- 38:42yeah, OK, it's all changing. God.
- 38:45Whereas when you're in a in a used to be, you go to the
- 38:48theatre, you sit there. And you pay you kind of trust
- 38:51$100 to be paying attention, Yeah.
- 38:55Whereas now you can't assume they've been watching for 5
- 38:58minutes. Oh, you need to reiterate what
- 39:00the fuck's going on. That's.
- 39:01Sort of sad. Yeah, I thought so too.
- 39:03I'm. Going to go see Primate
- 39:07tomorrow. I've heard that's good.
- 39:11I saw the trailer for it, it looked good.
- 39:12So yeah, that's what I'm going to see tomorrow afternoon
- 39:15because it's down to 1 screening a day already.
- 39:18Yeah, I'm streaming soon though, so you can watch it in the
- 39:23privacy of your own home while you're on your phone.
- 39:25On my phone? Well, no, I'm not on my phone.
- 39:30I'm on my Xbox. Oh yeah, you're on your Xbox.
- 39:33Yeah, fair. Do you want to talk about Star
- 39:37Wars news? Yes, I'm so interested about
- 39:42this one. Yes, I I don't know what to make
- 39:46of this, this movie. I'm interested in it.
- 39:49This is the most interesting I've been in the Star Wars movie
- 39:51in all the time. And not just because Ryan
- 39:53Gosling is in it, although that is.
- 39:54A that does help. That does help.
- 39:57Starfighter is coming out. We know it has a lightsaber
- 40:01fight in it. Yes, we know that, Tom Cruise.
- 40:03Filmed it. Which is interesting.
- 40:08And we also know now they've come out and they've said do not
- 40:12expect to see any any character that you're familiar with in
- 40:16this movie. It does not have any of that
- 40:18stuff with no cameos. I.
- 40:20None super happy about. Yes, this is what we've been
- 40:24saying for like a long time. It's.
- 40:26Got a whole universe to play in? Yes, go play.
- 40:30They do not have any of that stuff where everybody knows
- 40:33everybody apparently. Unless this is a fake out, which
- 40:36would annoy me, but apparently no, no, no.
- 40:38These are people that don't know other people that you've seen in
- 40:40the movies. This happened later.
- 40:43Star Wars Battlefront 2 and I had the single player and I
- 40:47actually had a storyline when they were talking about it that
- 40:49actually sounded quite interesting about these TIE
- 40:52Fighter pilots that just saw the Death Star destroyed and their
- 40:56story arc and then Lando and Leia pop up and it's so stupid.
- 41:06Well, this will be a test to see if if people need cameos because
- 41:12there was a bunch of rumours that so the the rumoured plot of
- 41:17this I guess we don't know for sure, but the the plot is
- 41:19supposed apparently that Ryan Gosling's character is
- 41:23protecting a young kid and presumably the kid is force
- 41:29sensitive and he's escorting her to the new Jedi Academy.
- 41:31This is what people have come up with as the plot and the theory
- 41:34was that it was going to the Academy was going to be run by
- 41:36Ray and Daisy Ridley would be in it.
- 41:39And they've, I mean this seemingly they've come out and
- 41:42said. No, no.
- 41:44Nobody's going to be in it that you've seen in the movies.
- 41:46Before, but for everything I've seen there's I haven't seen
- 41:49anything about a starfighter. No, because all we've heard
- 41:53about is there's lightsabers in it.
- 41:54Which, yeah, again, surprised me just because I thought this was
- 41:59just about normal people in Star Wars.
- 42:03Like, yeah, as long as it's not. I like lightsabers, don't get me
- 42:11wrong, but they don't need. To be in every movie.
- 42:13No, they exactly they don't. They don't need to be in
- 42:15everything. Especially when they're sort of
- 42:17set like from A New Hope onwards or even listen set after.
- 42:22Rise of Skywalker, It's like way after Rise of Skywalker.
- 42:25There's no Jedi. Where are all these Jedi?
- 42:28Yeah. Where did they all come from?
- 42:30Like it's there just seems to be like the Yoda says Luke, you're
- 42:37the last Jedi, but there seems to be dozens of hundreds just
- 42:41still hanging around. That it was like there's just
- 42:44Yoda and then all of a sudden in, in all the extra media was
- 42:48like, actually there's like 5000 other Jedi out there.
- 42:50Yeah, like. No, I I kind of wish that they
- 42:55didn't have the lightsaber fight and just focused on yeah.
- 42:59Ahsoka was around. Yeah, that Star Killer guy was
- 43:02around. Yeah.
- 43:03You know, all way more powerful than anybody we've seen in any
- 43:06of the movie. Yeah.
- 43:07It just couldn't be bothered showing.
- 43:09Couldn't be bothered to help out.
- 43:10Yeah, but please be good and please you just focus on the
- 43:16normal because even though there are lots of new Jedi around,
- 43:21they don't all have to be there. Right.
- 43:25Yeah, exactly. Well, I don't know it.
- 43:30It sounds positive. It's got Mia Goth in it as well.
- 43:32And Matt Smith sounds. We do like Mia Goth.
- 43:36Yeah, Mia Goth. Hello.
- 43:38Oh, Mia Goth. Students like her choice in
- 43:44husband. Completely accurate.
- 43:48Yeah, I don't. So Jess, you married to Shia
- 43:51LaBeouf, in case you don't know, and they were separated for a
- 43:53while, but I think they're back together now.
- 43:55I read during Frankenstein Press people were talking about her
- 43:59again. But he sort of got away.
- 44:02Hasn't. He he has, yeah.
- 44:04Yes, he was. Went off the rails, right?
- 44:08Because he went through that phase where he said he's not
- 44:09famous anymore, but then he was just always in the news for
- 44:12doing stunts where he was saying it wasn't famous.
- 44:14And it's like if what are you doing, man?
- 44:16Is it was that was that the point was that the more he did
- 44:20this weird shit where he said he wasn't famous, the more famous
- 44:23he was. Boring.
- 44:24Yeah, it's first. Sometimes you just have to
- 44:27accept that it's over I. Mean he could still be in stuff.
- 44:33He's not, but he could very I'm sure he could pick up the phone
- 44:37right now to his agent and he would have been a movie next
- 44:39week. And he's good.
- 44:40He's good in stuff. I've seen him in movies where he
- 44:43was very good. I just don't like the stuff he
- 44:45does off screen. Right.
- 44:46Yes. Like, remember when he was being
- 44:49thrown out of a camera ratio or something once?
- 44:52Yeah, yeah. Yeah, although I did enjoy his
- 44:59telling of that. Like it's it's don't do that
- 45:05shit. It's fucking stupid.
- 45:06But hearing him tell the story from his perspective was very
- 45:08funny where he was drunk and he was thought the show was for
- 45:11him. And like I say, oh, OK.
- 45:13I can see it was a very like, genuine, like you're just a
- 45:18drunk fuck wit. Yeah, like, yeah, and it's
- 45:22funny, but don't do it. No, you know what I mean?
- 45:26Yeah, don't do that. Yeah, don't be that guy.
- 45:32So yeah, Starfighter sounds good.
- 45:35Come here. Did she does it or is it Nick
- 45:36Shoe? Oh, good question stuff. 28th of
- 45:40May 27. 27 All right, we get another Ryan Gosling film soon,
- 45:44and that's Project Hail Mary hasn't.
- 45:47Ryan Gosling just come back in a big way recently.
- 45:52Who? What Ryan?
- 45:52Gosling, Ryan Gosling. Like it's not like he went away,
- 45:55but he just seems to be. He's just escalated his
- 46:00presence, it feels like. You know what, I, I wonder the
- 46:06press videos, all the interviews of him and Harrison Ford from,
- 46:09like, Blade Runner, like, because I think they might be my
- 46:13two favorite celebrities. Yeah, like now.
- 46:18And mostly because of Harrison Ford was already my favorite
- 46:20because I just think he's fucking great.
- 46:22But then him and Ryan Gosling in all the interviews for Blade
- 46:25Runner, I was just like, man, I want to be friends with those
- 46:27guys. It's so funny.
- 46:30So yeah, I recommend go watch those videos.
- 46:34Oh yeah, but also go watch Project Hail Mary.
- 46:37I've been because I've been going through movies so much
- 46:39lately. I've been seeing trailers and
- 46:41the trailer and Oh my God this movie looks great.
- 46:45The book, it's, it's on it. It's literally my favorite book
- 46:48of the last 1020 years. It's so fucking good.
- 46:51And I just really hope the yeah, the movies as good as the book.
- 46:57Was the book funny? Yes, Oh yes.
- 47:00Yeah, yeah, OK. Yeah, but in a natural way.
- 47:03Yeah. Yeah, the, the kind of, I mean,
- 47:06you've seen the trailer, the comedy in the trailer where it's
- 47:08like, you know, clashing of worlds and understanding and
- 47:13whatnot. Yes, yeah, it's funny, but
- 47:15genuinely funny, not forced. Yeah.
- 47:18It's really well done. Yeah, piss my bump because I'm
- 47:21actually looking forward to seeing it's.
- 47:23Not piss my bump. No, it's not the same thing.
- 47:26That, that, that kind of stuff. Yes, lots of that, yeah.
- 47:30Is this year Oh comes out March? May March?
- 47:36Oh, that's even sooner. Good.
- 47:37Yeah, it says. 19th of March, Australia.
- 47:41Very good. Yeah, very exciting.
- 47:46When do we get Highlander? Because there's pictures now of
- 47:50Henry Cavill, TV actor Henry Cavill in Highlander.
- 47:55And I mean, it's just a, it's just a couple of photos of him,
- 47:59but it looks good. All right, we get Highlander.
- 48:04It's 2027 trailer. We got it back in 1986 on the
- 48:1117th of July. Oh, my mistake.
- 48:13Yep, I'll just go watch it then. Yeah, yeah, you watch it now.
- 48:17Yeah, look. This looks.
- 48:19Good. Expect I don't think they've got
- 48:22a release date for it yet. No 2027.
- 48:26Yeah. But it's got Russell Crowe as
- 48:30Ramirez. Dave Batista's in it.
- 48:31Karen Gillan, Marissa Abella, Jeremy Irons is in it.
- 48:36Come on, this is going to be good.
- 48:38It's directed by the guy who did John Wick.
- 48:45It's not, it's just not going to have queen.
- 48:48Well, it says where Tyler Bates is doing the score, which makes
- 48:54sense because he's worked with that director before and
- 48:56reportedly incorporated some of the original Queen soundtrack
- 48:59into. OK, because you have to admit,
- 49:01that soundtrack made that movie. Yes, Tyler Bates is good.
- 49:06I like Tyler Bates. He actually just quit touring.
- 49:10He he was Marilyn Manson's kind of.
- 49:13He toured with Manson and I think he wrote on some of the
- 49:16new albums. He quit that I think maybe to
- 49:17focus on on film stuff more. OK, again, because he's done.
- 49:22He's good at it. Like he did like the first two
- 49:25Guardians movies and he did a bunch of John Wicks and he's
- 49:28done a lot. He's done a lot of stuff.
- 49:29He's good. He's a good film composer.
- 49:32Yeah. So I think the music will be
- 49:35good, that's for sure. I think it looks cool.
- 49:40We've got a beautiful weight. Yeah, yes, that's OK.
- 49:46We can be patient. Maybe I'll try.
- 49:51Dave Battista's in it. Yeah, he's.
- 49:54Going to be the bad guy. How tell you if we haven't
- 49:58talked? Have we talked about this?
- 49:59Have you seen The Rock lately? No.
- 50:01Your favorite actor? The Rock.
- 50:03He's something my favorite actor.
- 50:04A long time ago I used to like The Rock a lot, but then he
- 50:08went. Google What does the rock look
- 50:10like? Now, what does that rock look
- 50:12like? Yeah, yeah.
- 50:18Have a look. All right.
- 50:21Oh no, I didn't do it in the Google.
- 50:22I did it in two there. Let's try that again.
- 50:25Yeah. I'm just curious what you think
- 50:27about this. And then we can, I, I mean, I
- 50:30don't know that there's an official like this like
- 50:34statement about this or anything like that.
- 50:36Oh that's he looks sick compared to.
- 50:41So he does I the the OK, let me take a sip of my coffee.
- 50:49OK, so there's lots of rumours about what's happening.
- 50:54OK, Yes, he's much smaller, way smaller, right.
- 50:57He's put taken a lot of weight off.
- 50:58Right. And look up.
- 51:01What does Dave Batista look like now?
- 51:04He also what does Dave Batista look like now?
- 51:10Yeah, also slim. OK.
- 51:15And the theory is, I know, I'm sure this is true, is that you
- 51:19can't maintain that. No.
- 51:22We're doing. It's not possible to maintain
- 51:24it. And at a certain point, you, in
- 51:28order to not die, have to slim down.
- 51:30It's Arnold Schwarzenegger did the same thing.
- 51:31At a certain point, you get to a certain age.
- 51:34Maintaining that is hard. It's tough on your heart.
- 51:38So there's. Yeah.
- 51:40And also being that big, you're not actually strong.
- 51:46No, not necessarily. No.
- 51:48It's all about aesthetic. It's not about functional
- 51:52strength or anything like that. Yeah.
- 51:54So both of them have slimmed down.
- 51:56And because, yeah, I mean, it must, I assume it's fucking hard
- 52:01to to look like that. It's got to be hard.
- 52:04You have to be concerned about your calorie intake constantly.
- 52:08You have to be eating enough. Yeah, every day.
- 52:11Forcing yourself to eat, Eating the right thing, constantly
- 52:14exercising like it. And they possibly probably had
- 52:18some assistance. I would say so.
- 52:22Well, we know Stallone had some assistance, yeah.
- 52:24And that's not because that's why Stallone won't come back to
- 52:27Australia. Right.
- 52:30Yeah, when he was here they did a bit of a raid on his hotel and
- 52:33they caught him flushing stuff down the toilets and then he
- 52:36left and I don't think he'll be back.
- 52:39That's funny. Well, yeah, anyway, so they just
- 52:43they slimmed down and I just thought that was interesting,
- 52:45especially the Rock in particular.
- 52:46Yes, he does. He looks I'll because Batista.
- 52:50Looks good, yeah. He but but but the rock, I think
- 52:53just because the rock was so big.
- 52:55Big and. Now you see him and he looks so
- 52:59little. People have assumed he was sick,
- 53:02but it's not necessarily that he was sick.
- 53:04It's like he just had to. Put it down, think Batista is
- 53:10not my pick for Gears of War anymore.
- 53:14Yeah, he's not nothing enough. Yeah, because people, there's
- 53:17one of the Google questions is what illness does Dwayne Johnson
- 53:20have? Yeah.
- 53:22He's talked about depression, but I don't know that that.
- 53:28Yeah, no, I think it's just a shock.
- 53:29The scene go from being so big to.
- 53:34Yeah, I would imagine. I'm not a doctor, but I think
- 53:37being as big as he was for so long must have had some sort of
- 53:41effect on his body. Maybe he can't maintain it
- 53:44anymore. Yeah, that seems sensible to me.
- 53:48Like I don't see how you could look like that forever.
- 53:50But yeah, I think it's just the fact that you're comparing these
- 53:53two photos, it's what makes you think he looks sick when he's
- 53:56probably just an average guy. Yeah, but he was now
- 54:00particularly enormous. That's he.
- 54:02Was he was. He was fucking enormous and for.
- 54:05So long. Because he got, that's what I
- 54:07mean, he was. In wrestling.
- 54:09And then he left wrestling to do movies and got bigger.
- 54:12Yeah, yeah. And kept it kept stayed big,
- 54:16yeah. Same with Batista, I guess.
- 54:17Batista maintained that kind of big physique for.
- 54:22Because that's what they were known for.
- 54:24But now they've gotten to a point in their careers where,
- 54:27well, especially with Batista, where they go, oh, he could
- 54:29actually act. Yes, that's what he always
- 54:32wanted to do. That's why he stopped doing
- 54:34Drax, because he he wanted to do proper acting.
- 54:38Yeah. So I guess, you know, this is
- 54:45just, I guess I'm just not going to, I'm not going to worry about
- 54:49getting that big anymore. Yeah, this seems.
- 54:51Like me? Give enough, I'll give up too.
- 54:53Yeah, All right, guys. I guess we all we're all given
- 54:55up. We all look the same now.
- 54:57Welcome. To the club gents, very good.
- 55:05Yeah, no, I'm pretty sure under that shirt there's still quite a
- 55:09few muscles. Imagine it.
- 55:11I wonder if under that shirt there's a bit of loose skin to
- 55:14be honest. Yeah.
- 55:16Especially on the rock, because he, I mean, you can, you can.
- 55:21Well, he's he's really his shoulders.
- 55:24Yeah, true. Well, he had like big arms, but
- 55:27I don't think that's. The thing would you look at the
- 55:29picture, That's the biggest difference.
- 55:31Yeah. Is just his shoulders, yeah,
- 55:35like, and he looks like a turtle now, yes, because his neck looks
- 55:39longer because he's got he's got less muscle next to it, you know
- 55:42what I mean? Like, yeah.
- 55:45Look at the rest. Yeah, like he's his legs
- 55:48probably a little bit smaller, but he's sort of stomach regions
- 55:51sort of probably about the same. Sure.
- 55:55Sure we should. I think that's where most people
- 55:57need to get like the flesh removed if yeah, when they lose
- 56:01a lot of weight. But yeah, he seems to have just
- 56:04lost his arms and he's next. His arms couldn't lift weights
- 56:09anymore. Couldn't.
- 56:10Lift weights anymore? So who's your favorite actor
- 56:13now? We talked about this.
- 56:14It's Ryan. Ryan Reynolds, isn't it?
- 56:17No, I've gone off a bit as well since you've gone.
- 56:20Off Ryan Reynolds lately, it's. Just I don't know.
- 56:24I don't know what it is about Ryan Reynolds.
- 56:27No, everyone's gone off him. He genuinely, really.
- 56:30There was, yeah, there's a talk of the fact that he's like
- 56:33fallen out of favour. I think it's interesting.
- 56:36Yeah. No, when we talked about this,
- 56:37there was that article that said that even in Hollywood, people
- 56:40have gotten sick of him because he's, I don't know if this is
- 56:44true. This could be some smear
- 56:46campaign. Yeah.
- 56:46But that he's just very like, likes to make himself central to
- 56:51everything. Yeah.
- 56:53So. Yeah, he before he used to seem
- 56:56like someone he'd be fun to have a beer with.
- 56:59Yeah, now he'd probably be annoying, it seems.
- 57:01Yeah, now he'd be talking about Wrexham and Formula One.
- 57:06But. Actually, you'd probably still
- 57:08like to have a beer because. Yeah, because he owns part of a
- 57:10Formula One team, doesn't he? Oh, he does, yeah.
- 57:13But. He's got Wrexham, so yeah,
- 57:15you're still I. Went to the, I went to that
- 57:16probably one Teams office. Did I say that the Yeah, we went
- 57:22to Alpine. We couldn't go in, but we did go
- 57:24up to the security desk because there was a cat there outside.
- 57:30And I was like, we pulled up and it's like, oh, we can't get in.
- 57:34We can't see anything. There's a security office there.
- 57:36And then there was a cat office wandering on the on the inside
- 57:39of the fence. There was a cat.
- 57:41And Lyra was like, go ask them what the cat's name is.
- 57:44And I was like, all right, I did.
- 57:47His name's Boris. Oh yeah.
- 57:49But yeah, my daughter. He would like to know what the
- 57:51cat's name is. So yeah, because I worked in the
- 57:53window and they were like, hello?
- 57:54And I was like, hey, what's the cat's name?
- 57:56And they all laughed, and they said, oh, his name's Boris.
- 57:58OK, cool. But yeah, like I don't going in
- 58:01I don't think would have been that interesting because it is
- 58:03just no, no, well they were office.
- 58:05They were all at, at I think was it Saudi Arabia?
- 58:08I think at the time for the, for the GP.
- 58:10So yeah, there's nothing going on there.
- 58:13Yeah, now there is, but I'm not there now.
- 58:17No, and maybe Ryan played it that way.
- 58:21Maybe he knew. He knew.
- 58:25He had them book the Saudi Arabia Grumpy Grand Prix when he
- 58:29knew I was going to be visiting my mum in England.
- 58:34Yeah, I didn't know everyone had gone off him, but yeah, I know,
- 58:37I know I had. When there's that whole thing
- 58:39about so you know, the the drama with Blake Lively in that movie
- 58:45and the director, all that. I don't know the specifics, but
- 58:50I. Know where there's like.
- 58:51Accusations of. Yeah, where they will try and
- 58:54they say like some of the stuff they were doing in like Deadpool
- 58:57was to make fun of that director and things.
- 59:01Yeah. There's a lot of stuff and then
- 59:02now there's all these. I don't fall.
- 59:05I'm not falling because I don't actually care.
- 59:06But I did see apparently she texted Ben Affleck and Matt
- 59:11Damon, who we talked about earlier, and Ryan did as well
- 59:14because they wanted them to watch the movie.
- 59:17And then the texts of all them bitching about the director and
- 59:19stuff like that. And then I don't know, it's just
- 59:22there's a lot of stuff coming out where people, you know, it's
- 59:25like you learn too much about yes, somebody.
- 59:28It's like, I think that's what's happening.
- 59:29Is that like? At the end of the day they are
- 59:32just normal people with. Yeah, and then seemingly maybe
- 59:37annoying normal people. Yes, so, well, it's a shame
- 59:42about Ryan because I honestly, like started watching like 3
- 59:46girls in a pizza place and yeah, a lot of stuff you just did seem
- 59:50fun. But now, yeah, I can say that
- 59:52yeah, it does seem to be. I walk into a room.
- 59:56It's about me because look at all this stuff that I've done
- 59:59now. Yeah.
- 1:00:00But then again, maybe is he like that?
- 1:00:02Or is that just a successful smear campaign?
- 1:00:05I. Don't know.
- 1:00:07Well, also it's like who's another one that I used to like
- 1:00:10through not so much anymore. It's got a movie out at the
- 1:00:15moment. Mercy.
- 1:00:18Chris Pratt. Chris Pratt he used to see.
- 1:00:20Some Chris Pratt news. Oh, we do.
- 1:00:22Yeah, yeah. Chris Pratt.
- 1:00:24Everyone's gonna have Chris Pratt.
- 1:00:25Yeah, because he went like super reluctions.
- 1:00:28Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, he went specifically like
- 1:00:30a weird right wing. Not even.
- 1:00:32Like, and then he's, and as I said, I think I said before
- 1:00:35recently that he's gonna be in politics in the next 10 years.
- 1:00:38Like sure. That's his father law is was the
- 1:00:42governor of California. California, like, yeah, like
- 1:00:45that's definitely going to be a. Well, Chris Pratt, it's like he
- 1:00:48got famous, he got in, you know, did Guardians, he got in shape,
- 1:00:53and then he ditched Anna Faris. And that was kind of the start
- 1:00:56of like, yeah. All right.
- 1:01:00Because I quite like Anna Faris. That's what I mean, yeah.
- 1:01:02He, he upset a bunch of us, you know, because, like, well,
- 1:01:06don't, don't upset her. Yeah.
- 1:01:09And then, OK, so the news this week is just that he's been
- 1:01:12asked about, he's doing press for that Mercy movie, which is
- 1:01:15apparently very bad, despite the fact it's got Rebecca Ferguson
- 1:01:18in it, which I don't understand. I don't see how that could be
- 1:01:20true because she's great. But he was asked about the, you
- 1:01:27know, the scene in Avengers Infinity War where they capture
- 1:01:33Thanos, but then he finds out Thanos killed Gomorrah.
- 1:01:39And then he, like an idiot, starts punch, he punches him and
- 1:01:43then he, and then Thanos gets away.
- 1:01:46And people were mad about that scene.
- 1:01:49And I just find the way he talks about it interesting and the way
- 1:01:53that people have talked about it before interesting because what
- 1:01:56he says is, OK, he was on out of orders, steam, sorry, out of
- 1:02:04orders scene Steelers, which I guess is a show.
- 1:02:07And he watched me broke down scenes from his career,
- 1:02:08including that scene from Infinity War.
- 1:02:11And he says you've used that scene differently now than when
- 1:02:13they filmed it. What's wild about this scene is
- 1:02:15people eviscerate Quill because of his responsibility for
- 1:02:18essentially getting Iron Man killed.
- 1:02:21You know, that human moment where people hate this character
- 1:02:23for a while. And I really felt that.
- 1:02:26And then he said if he didn't do that, fans would have only
- 1:02:30gotten 1/2 hour movie because we got him, we got Thanos.
- 1:02:34He means that's not a movie, you know what I mean?
- 1:02:36So looking at it now, I kind of feel the weight of that and the
- 1:02:38ramifications of what happened to the character of Quilt
- 1:02:40because of that. But my point is he's saying,
- 1:02:45well he wouldn't have been a a movie with because they caught
- 1:02:48Thanos and if they had just stopped Thanos then they
- 1:02:50wouldn't win the rest of the movie.
- 1:02:51But that's assuming that the movie had to happen like that
- 1:02:54had to be the plot like it didn't happen.
- 1:02:57Like. They wrote it that way, right?
- 1:02:59They wrote it so that they called him, and they wrote it so
- 1:03:01that Quill did a stupid thing. My point is, I think that that
- 1:03:06scene is bad, not because I think the character of Star
- 1:03:10Lord, you know he's not real. That's not real.
- 1:03:14It's the people who wrote the movie, right?
- 1:03:16You. Know sometimes you can go that
- 1:03:18was was that was what was in the script.
- 1:03:22That's yes, yeah, yeah, the script was the problem.
- 1:03:25Yes. Like that's I don't know, I find
- 1:03:27the way that people talk about this annoying because I'm like,
- 1:03:29no, no, no, you're missing the point.
- 1:03:30It's not you can't get mad at Star Lord, right?
- 1:03:33Star Lord is not real. No, it's the people that wrote
- 1:03:35the scene. And in him saying, oh, yeah, but
- 1:03:37if they just caught Thanos, OK, but you didn't have to write
- 1:03:40that. That like you could have written
- 1:03:41something else where they didn't catch Thanos and then you and
- 1:03:44then you could have had your movie.
- 1:03:45Like I don't know, it's just such a stupid argument.
- 1:03:50Like I do think that scene is bad.
- 1:03:52Yes, that's my opinion. It's just a movie.
- 1:03:55But I'm not mad at a fictional character.
- 1:04:00I I don't care that much. I just think it's a bad scene
- 1:04:03and I think it's badly written. That's my problem with it.
- 1:04:06Yeah, I'm not mad at Chris Pratt about that either.
- 1:04:09No, because it's not his fault, people.
- 1:04:11Getting mad at Chris Pratt about it, like he didn't write the
- 1:04:13fucking movie, all right? Like be mad at him about the
- 1:04:17other stuff. Was there a lot of at but this
- 1:04:19stage weren't they like not giving everyone the entire
- 1:04:22script? So you would get like part of
- 1:04:24your script to prepare for part, but then you get another part of
- 1:04:27your script later. Yeah.
- 1:04:29And they were also rewriting, rewriting and changing things as
- 1:04:32they went. Yeah.
- 1:04:33And I, I think, I think to the point where, and I think they
- 1:04:37still have to do this to a degree.
- 1:04:40I think there was something about the new one, the Doom
- 1:04:44Doctor, Doom 1, where because of actor availabilities, they
- 1:04:48literally have to on the fly change scenes because somebody's
- 1:04:52not able to be there now. Yeah, they have to just freaking
- 1:04:54change stuff. And it's just like that is that
- 1:04:58is no way to write a fucking story, no.
- 1:05:00That's because that's because. And they only have themselves to
- 1:05:05blame for it because that was their plan at the start to get
- 1:05:08these up and coming actors. Pay them nothing.
- 1:05:12Yeah, because this is going to be their big thing.
- 1:05:14And then make them stars. And then you get to the point
- 1:05:17where you've made them All Stars and now you can't get them all
- 1:05:20for the 1 schedule. Yeah.
- 1:05:23Well, I think what there was only one scene for End Game
- 1:05:27where all the characters were there.
- 1:05:29That was just for the funeral. Yeah, and it was all CGI.
- 1:05:33Yeah, and they told what's his name?
- 1:05:36It was a wedding. Yeah, Tom Holland.
- 1:05:42Because he can't keep a secret. Yeah, that's funny.
- 1:05:47But yes, I think such. It's just, I don't know, don't
- 1:05:53be mad at Chris Pratt about that.
- 1:05:55No, be mad at him about hating gays or something, something
- 1:05:59that he actually has something control over.
- 1:06:03Yes. Maybe he doesn't.
- 1:06:04Maybe he can't help himself. I didn't know he was religious.
- 1:06:10I don't know if that's something you've got later in life or.
- 1:06:13It's, it's interesting, especially because he was
- 1:06:17married to Anna Faris. And if you've seen, you know,
- 1:06:20you know, the Scary Movie movies and that I can't imagine she's
- 1:06:23I, I mean, I wouldn't imagine she's religious or like very
- 1:06:26religious, you know what I mean? Or not the way that he seems to
- 1:06:29be now, you know. Yeah, well, maybe he he always
- 1:06:32was, but now because of. He's empowered, too.
- 1:06:36He's just leaning into it and talking a lot more and.
- 1:06:39I mean, this is all speculation, but yeah, I just was, I was
- 1:06:42surprised when it came out that he was so, but also look at his,
- 1:06:45you know, the old outtakes from like Parks and reconcile that
- 1:06:49where he's very crude and he just just, I was like, oh, so
- 1:06:53surprised that he's the famous. One where he's talking about the
- 1:06:56Kim Kardashian 6 tape. Yeah, that's what I Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:07:00No, she had come on her back. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:03I was just surprised that, yeah, maybe it's maybe it happened
- 1:07:08later. Yeah, I think it's a later thing
- 1:07:10because he wants to get into politics.
- 1:07:13Yeah, and you do? A few more movies, say a few
- 1:07:17more things, and then new Schwarzenegger.
- 1:07:21President. Governor.
- 1:07:24President. Good, Lisa said.
- 1:07:27Iraq could be president. It's too small now.
- 1:07:31Yep. Chris Pratt's still big.
- 1:07:33He can do it, yeah. Although in the last movie in
- 1:07:38his movie Mercy, he just sits in a chair the entire thing.
- 1:07:41Does he? Yes, he's just sitting in a
- 1:07:44chair the entirety. Bruce Willis now.
- 1:07:47Yeah. Yeah, poor Bruce Willis.
- 1:07:52Yeah. Anyway, you know where I'm going
- 1:07:54to sit in a chair. I'm.
- 1:07:55Going to guess in the after party.
