- 0:17As veterans, we begin new lives when we leave our military
- 0:22service. What is faith?
- 0:25How do we incorporate faith in service and after what resources
- 0:30are available? Who do we talk with about faith?
- 0:34These are some of the many questions that one may ponder in
- 0:38searching for answers to the meaning of life.
- 0:41Join The Revivalists and let's search for some answers
- 0:44together. Luke 923 Then he said to them,
- 0:49All, Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves,
- 0:53and take up their cross daily, and follow me.
- 0:59Hey, how are you, Daryl? Welcome, everybody.
- 1:03Today is Monday, September 14th, Dear of our Lord, 2026.
- 1:10I'm back. I'm back.
- 1:15Yeah, man, I, Daryl. I got home at 5:30 this morning.
- 1:21Well, what? What?
- 1:22What were you sharing on screen? I didn't see that.
- 1:27Honored Veteran. Honored veteran Oh, I didn't I
- 1:32didn't grab my my medal. I I could run out to the truck
- 1:36and get it and my my certificate that we were did you do you get
- 1:41to? Bring a dog?
- 1:42Did you bring a dog home too? No, I mean, the dog's here.
- 1:49Zsa Zsa stayed with Carrie and then Cody came back home from
- 1:52his trip. So Zsa Zsa stayed here.
- 1:56She didn't go on the trip with me.
- 1:57I probably should have taken her though, but but brought home the
- 2:02the last place certificate. Somebody's got to be last place.
- 2:09It's OK, we placed, you placed. You know, I, I, I went cold on
- 2:17the track. Everybody else had already raced
- 2:20all morning long. They know their vehicles.
- 2:24I had never driven on the track before.
- 2:28And that was, you know, it's been a year since I drove the
- 2:32Rally for Vets Miata. So for those of you who don't
- 2:35know where I was this past week and I, I had driven across
- 2:41country, even was at the club. No, I was at the racetrack
- 2:47Saturday and then drove back 1300 miles.
- 2:55So you know my, I don't know if you can hear my throat.
- 2:59I feel like I'm still straining my voice a bit because I talked
- 3:04so much. I had so much fun Saturday
- 3:07interviewing people and I, I, oh, we lost your video.
- 3:12I did do a good deed yesterday. I had to roll my window down.
- 3:18So for those of you don't know, I took my RV across country and
- 3:22of course was driving it back. But you always, you know, you
- 3:26learn how to look out for a fellow RV years.
- 3:29There was a gentleman and his wife driving a truck with a
- 3:34fifth wheel pulling behind them next to while I was behind them
- 3:40and saw some smoking coming out of the wheels so knew that was
- 3:46not a good sign. I played the catch up game and
- 3:49you know, roll, hey, roll the window down.
- 3:53And then I had to scream it out because I knew that my voice
- 3:57was, you know, was pretty sketchy.
- 4:00And that probably is what blew the rest of the voice that I had
- 4:03trying to tell him that, hey, his tires were smoking or his
- 4:07wheels were smoking. So my throat is still recovering
- 4:12from Saturday. So and we we don't have your.
- 4:17Video Well, you know, this is probably give me more of a this.
- 4:21I can see you fine. We cannot see you.
- 4:26I'm just letting. You fine.
- 4:29OK, I'm just letting you know we can't see you, so I'm.
- 4:38Driving from Fort Worth. OK, no worries.
- 4:42So we can talk through this. Yeah, OK.
- 4:45Yeah, we will. You said you're driving through
- 4:49Fort Worth. Well, be careful driving.
- 4:53I know we didn't have our show. You had an appointment.
- 5:02Yeah, she they call. I got in earlier than November.
- 5:07Oh, good for your wife, yeah, or you?
- 5:13No for me. OK, yeah, well, we'll say
- 5:17prayers that everything. Is fine just so you know Oh yeah
- 5:22yeah yeah just so you know and. And we'll pray, but she's a
- 5:30she's not. So we're just, you know, she's
- 5:36she's just, you know, meander about the house.
- 5:39And, you know, like I told you, she doesn't know who anybody
- 5:43else is. She knows who I am.
- 5:45Right. And that's.
- 5:48That's tough. I'm sorry, Darryl.
- 5:50That's. It is a cruel, insidious
- 5:53disease. Right, well, since you're
- 5:58driving, if you want, I'll go ahead.
- 6:01And right, since you're driving, I'll go ahead and launch us into
- 6:07prayer, OK? Dear Heavenly Father, thank you
- 6:13for joining us together today. Wherever we are and wherever,
- 6:19whatever we're doing, Darrell's driving.
- 6:22Please keep him safe and on his appointed mission today.
- 6:27Dear Heavenly Father, please take care of those of us and our
- 6:32lives and our families and extended families that you keep
- 6:37our health and well-being and focus and find some find healing
- 6:44and relief and and your mercy to get through.
- 6:49You know, these trials and journeys and challenges that we
- 6:54as the caregivers, I have peace in getting through the through
- 7:01these trials. Family Father, thank you for all
- 7:07the many gifts and glories that you give to us each and every
- 7:12day. The blessings that you sent to
- 7:15our way, the people we get to meet and the journey you have us
- 7:20on. That we are ever and always
- 7:23growing your Kingdom, your people, garden and be, and that
- 7:30we are your everlasting servants.
- 7:35Just being, being the servants that we are supposed to be for
- 7:41you and your mission. In your name we pray, Lord.
- 7:44Amen. Amen, father and Son.
- 7:46Of Holy Spirit, Amen. You know, the hard part when I'm
- 7:50praying, Darrell, is that I have like 15 things coming in my head
- 7:55to say at the same time. And.
- 7:58So much to pray for. So much to pray for.
- 8:01I mean, because then I'm also thinking, OK, what about the
- 8:04president and all of our community leaders and everything
- 8:09else? Everybody, you know, maybe I'll
- 8:11put all this stuff at the end. So much to pray for these days.
- 8:17I know there are a lot of people going through stuff.
- 8:20So I want to talk just a minute about the, you know, my
- 8:26experience on my trip this past week because it was challenging
- 8:34in many ways, but I think it's also pretty much a parallel with
- 8:41a lot of this stuff that we've seen in Genesis.
- 8:46Are you OK with that? Yes, I'm.
- 8:51Fine with it. OK, so you know, part of my
- 8:57whole there, there we got video again, part of my, you know, RV
- 9:03project and the concerns I had were with the roof and rain and
- 9:09and I kept thinking, man, this is what Noah, no, you imagine
- 9:14what Noah was going through on the ark and and patching holes
- 9:20here. Oh, we got a patch a hole here.
- 9:22We got a patch hole there and you and you know, how do you,
- 9:26how do you patch the holes so that, you know, you, you don't
- 9:30get, you don't get the rain coming through and and exploding
- 9:35the ark. You know, the RV was like that,
- 9:39right? I had to get up on the roof of
- 9:41the RVA couple. Well, like I ended up getting up
- 9:43there three times. I think the last time held
- 9:47pretty well. But you know, when you get those
- 9:50leaks like that, you're putting a lot of faith in some.
- 10:06There, I had to mute your mic, Darryl, 'cause there was some
- 10:10kind of sound coming through. So anyway, yeah, you may have to
- 10:23cycle off and come back on again.
- 10:40Let's see, it's really loud. No, there's a there's a really
- 10:50loud voice. What?
- 11:08There's a loud voice. So anyways, getting back to my
- 11:22RV and Noah Ark comparison, you know, so it was it was raining
- 11:31and the patches that I had made on the RV were not holding.
- 11:37I saw them not hold as soon as I well, later on when I was on the
- 11:42highway when I first left, I I saw I saw the plastic flip up.
- 11:50It didn't hold up there on the roof and I had had it taped down
- 11:53and everything, but it was right there on the leading edge.
- 11:57So I had this, you know, you can't help but get this vision
- 12:02of what Noah must have gone through on the ark because you
- 12:06can't, you don't necessarily know, you can't test, you can't
- 12:10test the integrity of what the ark would have gone through, you
- 12:18know, until it actually started raining.
- 12:21So whatever thatch and you know, sealant that they had, they
- 12:28would have had to have buckets and buckets of that ready to
- 12:31hurry up and patch in there and to hold to hold it and not let
- 12:37the water come through when it when the when the rain started
- 12:42coming and raising the ark up. That would have been very, very
- 12:47interesting to deal with because otherwise your only resources
- 12:53were what was on the ark with you.
- 12:56You wouldn't have had any worldly access to any kind of
- 13:01any kind of extra repair goods. I'm talking about Noah and the
- 13:05ark. When the Ark was getting
- 13:08elevated in the water, all of all of the resources that they
- 13:12could have had available were no longer available, Darryl,
- 13:16because of the rising waters. So there I was, you know, on my
- 13:21road trip with the RV and the, and the roof getting the rain
- 13:28leaking through the roof and oh, then it was through the window
- 13:32and I've got a little teeny tiny leak over in the bathroom area
- 13:38from the roof. So that one won't be so hard to
- 13:41fix. I didn't really worry about it.
- 13:43It was just a little baby drip, but those other ones,
- 13:47fortunately, I had come prepared with the role of the seam tape
- 13:53and to try and that was what end up being my saving grace was
- 13:58being able to just use the seam tape to seal it up on the third
- 14:03try. But you know, Darryl, Can you
- 14:06imagine this is, you know, talking about Noah and and
- 14:13everything that you had. You think that you what it could
- 14:17have should have had available is no longer available to you.
- 14:21And I think for a lot of our brothers and sisters who have
- 14:25served in the military and you go on deployments, what you have
- 14:30right there is what you have right there.
- 14:32You are having to learn how to MacGyver, whatever.
- 14:35We learn how to be so resourceful on on things, but
- 14:40then there's that impact of us that we also have to remember
- 14:44that the very same types of mental thinking that we go
- 14:51through to solve problems with, you know, with material things,
- 14:56we need to apply those same concepts on the mental and
- 15:00emotional and spiritual side as well.
- 15:04It's just taking on a different nuance.
- 15:07Does that make sense, Darrell? It does, it does.
- 15:11And, and so I told you that I'm really, you know, on, on the,
- 15:17the front side, the middle and the backside of my profession of
- 15:21counseling and mental health is really just trying to make sure
- 15:25that I'm certainly established enough, not more than enough,
- 15:30but enough. Because only psychiatrist,
- 15:33psychologist, neurologist, LPCS who really delve into that, who
- 15:38can bill for that specifically. But for me, all aspects of
- 15:43counseling, rehabilitation, psychiatric rehabilitation,
- 15:50mental health, peer support, all those areas, they all intersect
- 15:56where you can really provide the best, you know, care for people.
- 16:00You don't have to have, you know, instrumentations and, you
- 16:04know, diagnostics and all these other types of things.
- 16:07You know, it's just when you're dealing with the human heart and
- 16:09the person's willing, ready and able to discuss what's going on
- 16:14with them, you're onto something.
- 16:15And I don't believe Noah and his family, Abraham and his family,
- 16:19Isaac and his family, Jacob and his family, Joseph, too many
- 16:24measures of life had that opportunity to do so.
- 16:29Right, they, they would have looked and to see what resources
- 16:33are available and, and I think over time, many of them time and
- 16:40time again, the ones who walked with God realized that the ones
- 16:46who were the most successful were the ones who walked with
- 16:49God. You know there was no time for
- 16:52competition and who we are and what's what is this and who are
- 16:59they. You know those are re
- 17:03establishment with Noah and his family of the earth.
- 17:11Well, I know you and I had wanted to.
- 17:14We discussed, you know, there's still plenty to discuss about
- 17:19Genesis and you know, it's. Probably something that'd be our
- 17:25Yeah, that'd be our Bible getting through the Bible in the
- 17:28year, right? Yeah, right.
- 17:30I mean, man, it took us, it took us a year to get through
- 17:34Genesis. And and hey, but you know, so
- 17:40this is for those of you don't know, last our last episode that
- 17:45we aired because we didn't have a show last Monday.
- 17:49I was on the road. And no, we did have a yeah, we
- 17:54didn't have a show, right? We didn't have a show.
- 17:56You were, you were out of pocket.
- 17:58I was out of pocket. So we didn't have the show on
- 18:02Labor Day. Yeah, because I had the show
- 18:06from my truck. I had my From Pain to Purpose
- 18:09show for my truck on Saturday. But you know, we've had several
- 18:16discussions about what we're, you know, things that we know
- 18:24that we still wanted to talk about Genesis.
- 18:26So technically we're in season 2 of our, of our show note now,
- 18:33right? So welcome to season 2, folks.
- 18:37Season 2 of the revivals is here.
- 18:40Yay. I'm so excited about.
- 18:46And just so you know, after this show is over, I'm actually doing
- 18:53a talk on being a revivalist and that is how they're available
- 18:59for folks to join on. So it'll be a good, I've already
- 19:04got a good draft of what my talk is going to be about being a
- 19:09revivalist. And that's what we are.
- 19:12But I think that there were still several key topics that
- 19:16you and I wanted to discuss. Some of it is it's a parallel
- 19:22news, recent news story in the veteran community, veteran slash
- 19:28military community compared to what we've also been seeing
- 19:32within some of the stories within Genesis.
- 19:38Which, which one do you feel like tackling first?
- 19:41Daryl, I'm. Listen, I'm in agreement with
- 19:46with any of them. So you just go ahead and just,
- 19:48OK, flip the evil coin. Flip the evil coin and let's go.
- 19:53All right, so the first one I know we we were talking about
- 19:57was and I don't have have it opened the my Bible.
- 20:02This was the story where the the gentlemen were coming into town
- 20:09and was it Isaac? And he was like no, y'all need
- 20:13to hurt, y'all need to hide because they want to come and
- 20:16rape you. Remember that.
- 20:19Oh, when it's almost like Judges 19.
- 20:23Go ahead. No, this is this.
- 20:25Was in Genesis this. No, no, no, I said.
- 20:28It's almost like you'll see it again in Judges 19.
- 20:31Go ahead. So, you know, it was the whole,
- 20:36the whole topic about and this is getting back to the aights.
- 20:41And then they they wanted to rape the men they were not
- 20:47interested in. It was.
- 20:50His daughters, because he had a couple of, you know, had a
- 20:57couple of virgin daughters. They were these guys were
- 21:02interested in raping, raping these men.
- 21:07The angels. The angels, yes, I was trying to
- 21:10remember who was it that is it I the.
- 21:15The the, the the innkeeper, if you will, was saying, take my
- 21:21daughters. Right.
- 21:23Actually, it was a lot since take.
- 21:27Not, not, not, not a lot. It was the innkeepers to take my
- 21:30daughters and they're like, no, no, we let us know them.
- 21:37Yeah, I was trying to. I'm trying to see Lot.
- 21:41Yeah, Lot and his daughters. And his daughters, right?
- 21:45Right, but it and it was A and they were trying to so I've got
- 21:54it open here it's. OK.
- 21:57And this was over in Sodom and Gomorrah and they.
- 22:03And this is this is after, this is after which the the lot's
- 22:08wife had been transformed to a pillow.
- 22:10Correct, correct. And but this was anyways he said
- 22:19yeah, hurry up, go ahead and get in here, flee through your
- 22:22lives. Don't look back.
- 22:23Don't stop. And anyways, flee to the mounds,
- 22:26you be swept away. And am I right?
- 22:33Oh, that's the power. That's the salt part.
- 22:36But there was. Where did it go?
- 22:39Keep going, you don't run into it.
- 22:44But these were temptations. They I'm I'm trying to read some
- 22:47of my notes in here and tricks. And anyways, they, he told them
- 22:54to told these two angels, hurry up and hide in here because the
- 22:59town people want to rape you. I, I say I this is important
- 23:04because I don't know why I've got to have a phone call trying
- 23:08to come through that. There's still this culture that
- 23:15it's OK to rape and. Even today.
- 23:20Even today and the whole sex trafficking thing and you know,
- 23:26the recent this goes back to why, why I really wanted to have
- 23:31the conversation. The recent court decision that a
- 23:38woman being raped, it was part of her.
- 23:42It was part of the work culture that she needed to be expected
- 23:46to be raped because then it would qualify it as workers
- 23:51compensation injury, more or less.
- 23:56And, and, and, and there's not the I guess in some ways the
- 24:01intent of it from a public administration standpoint is to
- 24:07provide her or a victim because it happens to men too who get
- 24:13raped. We know this in the happens in
- 24:15the military that there is compensation for them as a
- 24:24result of this, these egregious acts, but they're I think the
- 24:31difficulty in the ruling. Their long range.
- 24:34Their long range ramifications. Evil because.
- 24:37Correct, you know. Even even though there's
- 24:39compensation for the rest of this person's life, there's a
- 24:42scarlet letter. They've been scarred.
- 24:44Somebody took something. Sure, sure.
- 24:46But where is the criminalization of the perpetrator and their
- 24:53deed? If you're low level.
- 24:55If you're low level, that's what happens.
- 24:57At the higher level, is more difficult to approach into.
- 25:01Because they they get the letter of reprimand, they get a general
- 25:05opera general go mar is what we called it is as a Jag general
- 25:10officer membrandum of reprimand. They they get a slap on their on
- 25:14the hand and and the victim gets moved, not the perpetrator
- 25:20getting moved. The victim's.
- 25:22Always, you know, the victim's always the one who gets, you
- 25:27know, shuttled around and and nothing happens to the actual
- 25:31perpetrator, but. The Victimology The victimology
- 25:35follows the victim. Correct.
- 25:38But but there wasn't the accountability being held for
- 25:42the perpetrator. And I think for you and I, that
- 25:45gets back to the conversation we had earlier in the summer with
- 25:50what was happening with the Southern Baptist Convention.
- 25:54It is you're, you're making this whole victimization that well,
- 25:59we just have to change the rules because we're not going to hold
- 26:03ourselves accountable for any of our actions.
- 26:07That's I think that's, you know, you and I were talking the other
- 26:11day about Cain and Abel and, and how about Joseph's brothers, all
- 26:19the Ites. There wasn't any accountability
- 26:23for these people. They still got away with a lot
- 26:27of things and. And because those people were
- 26:30bad actors, it is spilled over and generationally culturally to
- 26:37what we see today. Which gets back to the whole
- 26:42moral injury and where's the recovery and healing coming
- 26:47from. That's that is why we have the
- 26:51Revivalist Radio show to discuss some of these very fundamental
- 26:56moral questions that a lot of you know, Daryl, when I talk to
- 27:02people about what the show is about, I said, listen, it's
- 27:06pretty simple. We're a veteran ministry geared
- 27:10towards DSM 5 covering the moral injury healing to recovery side.
- 27:17Because if you look at it from a very clinical aspect without
- 27:20God, then folks are missing the whole point about the moral
- 27:24injury healing and recovery. They stay stuck on moral injury.
- 27:29They don't focus on the healing and recovery and put God as the
- 27:34true north of our moral compass. And and it's and it's that very
- 27:39critical part of it. And that's why I think people
- 27:44like Noah and and Israel and Joseph, you know why these
- 27:51people were Abraham were so successful.
- 27:54Yes, they had their faults, but they also understood where the
- 27:59healing and recovery came from. And that was as long as I've got
- 28:04God as my absolute true North, then I'm not going to go wrong.
- 28:09Yes, yes. And that's the long version of
- 28:14this field. Right.
- 28:15No, no, Eva, tell our global audience why you say True North.
- 28:23The true north, I mean, you know, there's magnetic north,
- 28:27but if you're not using God as your true north, like to really
- 28:33zero in on God as your true north, then you're going to get,
- 28:39you're going to get lost on the wrong path.
- 28:42And what do I mean by that? So, you know, in, in my
- 28:47experience in hiking and I'm going to use the commuter to
- 28:51Santiago, for instance, could be, it could be the Appalachian
- 28:55Trail because I've been on both. You know, on the Appalachian
- 28:59Trail, it's the white blazes, but you may be out there on the
- 29:02trail and you see blue blazes. You might see some red blazes.
- 29:07Red blazes are no go zones. Blue blazes are put out there by
- 29:12like USDA because you know, there's some other, there's some
- 29:16other paths out there. But you're out there on the, on
- 29:19the Camino Santiago and you're following the Camino, which is
- 29:25the shell icon. You, you may be on a path that
- 29:34is actually 10 feet away from the wider Rd. that you see cars
- 29:39on. And it's going to look very
- 29:41tempting to go over and walk on that road versus the the rocky
- 29:48path that you're on. But there.
- 29:51But there is a side benefit to walking on this rocky path
- 29:56because one believe it or not, the rocky path massages your
- 30:02feet. Now I know that may sound kind
- 30:04of weird because you think, well, I went the smooth path
- 30:07over there. Well, don't forget you can also
- 30:12get hit by a car over on that big path too.
- 30:16But the rocky path can massage your feet.
- 30:19But it is going to take you on a journey that does a lot of sole
- 30:27repair in and of itself because it's not easy.
- 30:33It has a specific path. These are paths that have been
- 30:37walked for centuries upon centuries.
- 30:40Because all roads lead to Santiago.
- 30:42If you know anything about the commuter of Santiago and all the
- 30:45Santiago paths out there, all roads lead to Santiago.
- 30:50You know, that's what is it. The Knights Templar, even, you
- 30:58know, the Knights, you had lots of priests.
- 31:01They right, all of these paths, you know that they all hiked
- 31:07into the cathedral in Santiago and, and, and that was, it was
- 31:14like in some ways an act of penance.
- 31:17And that's important because if you are paying that penance to
- 31:23get to the end, then you are paying for that journey to get
- 31:27there. And you're not taking it as the
- 31:30easy path over there that paved Rd. that is so easy that
- 31:34everybody else wants to go on. But God's got you on this
- 31:38specific path over here. And he wants us to make sure
- 31:42that we pay that penance to be able to get to heaven.
- 31:47Does that does that make sense, Sarah?
- 31:49What's? Remarkable of what?
- 31:51You're saying like every particularly the pentance and
- 31:54the path and such, there's history behind all of that.
- 31:57And and you know, this is not our particular show to delve
- 32:01into it, but we can do sound bites.
- 32:04We can do bits and pieces and chunks that people can recognize
- 32:09that these people did fight gloriously, valiantly.
- 32:14They sweat died paid the price for us today.
- 32:19It doesn't matter what your religious denomination is is
- 32:22that bloodshed occurred. You know the scriptures teach us
- 32:25that there will be violence in the Kingdom.
- 32:29So here we are. But it is educate people
- 32:37scripturally, historically, personally, but to continue to
- 32:42model God for who not only we know who he is, but who He says
- 32:46He is. Right.
- 32:49Well, so part of the talk that I'm doing today, I'm I'm doing
- 32:54it on Revelations 21 seven He that overcometh shall inherit
- 33:00all things and I will be his God and he shall be my son.
- 33:06That's that's the. He said the same.
- 33:10He said the same thing to about Solomon.
- 33:16He would take care of Solomon because Solomon was a young man,
- 33:18didn't know what to do and so he did that.
- 33:22So he would do the same. He would do the same thing for
- 33:26us because he does the same thing for us.
- 33:29I am 62 and my testament is is that I have fallen, I have
- 33:34failed, I've been broken, I've been repaired, I've been
- 33:38restored, I've scratched the knee, I've stubbed the toe, and
- 33:42none the less, the Lord our God was still there because I am
- 33:45still his son. You were still his daughter,
- 33:48we're still his children. And when people lose sight of
- 33:51that, that's when all the trouble and the difficulty comes
- 33:54because people don't pray. Prayer changes things.
- 34:00It is our 911211411 connect to the Lord our God.
- 34:07And if people don't believe it, just look around you.
- 34:12A person's life can change instantly when they believe that
- 34:16their prayers will be answered. You know what?
- 34:19We don't have to ask for the same thing over and over.
- 34:22Look at the patriarchs and the prophets.
- 34:25They didn't pray for the same thing.
- 34:26They prayed once. And whatever the outcome was,
- 34:29was what the outcome was. And I believe we live in a time
- 34:34right now where prayer is greatly desired and you don't
- 34:40have to pray down heaven. Let your request be made known,
- 34:45says the Sacred Scriptures, and God will answer them.
- 34:51So true, so true. These women and men, these women
- 34:55and men who've endured and still are enduring moral injury and
- 34:59are carrying the weight of that, God bless them.
- 35:04You know, I'm, I'm one myself, right?
- 35:06Some, some things happen in your childhood and you're carrying
- 35:09weight and such and you're acting out and you know, all you
- 35:12know is your anger, your frustration, the inability for
- 35:16people to believe you and so on and so forth.
- 35:19But when you get listen, I'm telling you, you guys may look,
- 35:23look strangely upon me when I say this.
- 35:25I went and found my bullets. Look at me very closely.
- 35:30I went and found them. I didn't, you know, I didn't let
- 35:33them get any more bigger than they were.
- 35:35And you know, any more experienced fighting or you
- 35:38know, I wouldn't took care of those things now.
- 35:40I was younger, I was unlearned, but my physical, my physical and
- 35:46emotional and mental capabilities, they all came out
- 35:49at one time because I wasn't that young child anymore.
- 35:54I was a man. And so now I, you know, I even
- 35:58had to go into prayer and repentance because I wasn't
- 36:00supposed to do any of those things, but somebody harmed me.
- 36:05They tried to take something from me.
- 36:07They tried to walk around saying they did something to me and it
- 36:10was getting back to me and I wasn't having it.
- 36:13Now, God doesn't work like that. God says vengeance is his.
- 36:19He's the one who forgives and forgets.
- 36:21That's what the human psyche and the human emotion does not do.
- 36:26The human emotion says I did and I'll do it again.
- 36:29Or, you know, if something happens to my children, I'll do,
- 36:32I'll do 50 years for them. That may be the truth, but you
- 36:35don't have to because that's God's.
- 36:37That's God's deal, right? What point of my profession?
- 36:40That that was between them and God.
- 36:42That was between them and God. He.
- 36:44He is. He is the end all.
- 36:48It is not us it it, it's not a lot to be the decider, right?
- 36:54It's right, it's right. It's a lot of people you and I
- 36:56know through the historical timeline who have served time or
- 37:01doing time. They didn't have to do time.
- 37:03They took matters into their own hand.
- 37:07That's a guy job now. Well, what is it he that has the
- 37:11It's about casting stones, you know.
- 37:15Yep, right, right. He, he or she who was never seen
- 37:19and let the cast for who was without.
- 37:21Right, right. Cast the first stone.
- 37:23And and nobody and and then that, and in that particular
- 37:27story, nobody could cast stones at that woman.
- 37:31They knew they all had sins. Wait, wait.
- 37:35Evil. Really quickly, everybody.
- 37:38They caught the woman in the very act.
- 37:41But my question is always been what were they doing there?
- 37:45Right, right. If they caught, she wasn't in
- 37:50the very act all by her very lonesome there.
- 37:56There was everybody else that was there too.
- 37:58That, that that's the question that goes back to the example
- 38:02that I was talking about. Yes, that that that they were.
- 38:06It was all about making sure that they chastised the woman,
- 38:10but the men were not going to be held accountable.
- 38:13Nope. Nope.
- 38:15But that but that ruling. But that's what the ruling was
- 38:18saying too, because this was about their behavior.
- 38:24You know, I hope that the direction that things are
- 38:27headed, that this is about getting command and discipline
- 38:31back under control because I think it has seriously slacked
- 38:35with the last couple of, you know, generations of veteran or
- 38:40military. I mean, I think our generation
- 38:44from the veterans is different than what is happening now,
- 38:50'cause I I've seen some of the people that we know who are
- 38:54like, OK, you guys who are serving the military whining
- 38:58about deployments and, you know, your spouses whining about,
- 39:03well, he's gone or she's gone. And when, when, when, what did
- 39:07you sign up for the military for?
- 39:08Come on folks. It, it, it even to, you know, to
- 39:12your point, it's a difficult transition being young and
- 39:17married and a family and you know, you're on deployment and
- 39:20you're gone. I, you know, I've been through
- 39:21it. So have you and so
- 39:23understanding, but you, this is what you don't understand.
- 39:27You have somebody who probably doesn't care about their wife or
- 39:30husband the way that you care about your family, who will tell
- 39:33you, particularly from a Navy standpoint, where your wife
- 39:36didn't or your kids didn't come in your sea bag.
- 39:39Man who? Who says that?
- 39:41Somebody. Yeah.
- 39:42Well, what we said, what we would have said in the Army was,
- 39:46well, if the Army wanted you to have a family, they would have
- 39:49issued you one. You're right.
- 39:51Now who says that? You know.
- 39:56It's number of years and they they did they're disenfranchised
- 40:00or disenchanted or disconnected from their families.
- 40:03And so they feel as though, well, I can say this right?
- 40:06Well, just you don't say that somebody's.
- 40:07No, but they all 18. 20 years of age, yes.
- 40:11They all those are consequences of choices though, right?
- 40:16Because what probably happened, they probably had sex and and
- 40:23there was probably some demands while I'm pregnant.
- 40:25So now we're going to get married and you need to cover.
- 40:29I need to have insurance to cover this baby and you're going
- 40:31to pay for this baby. Shotgun wedding indeed.
- 40:36There are consequences to your actions, to your.
- 40:40Choices even even even girl I got some Navy stories.
- 40:45I mean, that's what happened. Think about it.
- 40:47That's what happened with Joseph and his concubines.
- 40:51He, you know, you and I have talked several times.
- 40:54He only really loved Rachel, but he had some, He had some.
- 41:00You know, there were some consequences of having all these
- 41:02concubines, you know, started with Leah, but you know, had
- 41:09all. These women wanted was.
- 41:11All these women wanted were babies.
- 41:13Right, right. That was their value then, and
- 41:18in many cultures that's still their only value too.
- 41:24Think about it. Because because they are seen as
- 41:28property, they are only just birth bearers.
- 41:33That's it. Rachel was the wife, correct?
- 41:41So for them, every time they had a baby, right, they were better
- 41:46than Rachel. Well, Rachel was the wife.
- 41:49It was a currency. Having a child was a form of
- 41:53currency. Come on.
- 41:56Yes. See, man, this is, This is why
- 41:58we have a wonderful program, because we get down to, we get
- 42:01in the weeds. But but in but the in some ways,
- 42:05Daryl, our culture still says that I remember as a young woman
- 42:10that I thought that my value I I had a doctor one time tell me
- 42:15that I would love if I ever had to.
- 42:19Oh, I don't know what happened to your audio with that again.
- 42:26Can you recycle off on Sorry folks, He's he's still driving.
- 42:37It was good there for a minute and then.
- 42:46Yeah, we're hearing all the road noise and touching their audio,
- 42:49you know, horrible. If you can hear me Darryl, you
- 43:04can cycle off on just get the the green fresh.
- 43:11Got your connection. It was trying to help unmute
- 43:43you. I muted you and then OK, yeah,
- 43:46it's still pretty bad. If you can hit the refresh on
- 43:51your stream, that would probably help it
- 44:06anyways so that that was. What was the other one?
- 44:17There was another newsy topic that I wanted to talk about too.
- 45:06Trying to find the other this second topic I wanted to talk.
- 45:33Oh, this was the other one was the whole plant inclination.
- 45:42Oh, we lost him. Well, so we'll we'll get him
- 45:46back. So part of the other thing goes
- 45:50back to topic that Darryl and I discussed a couple of weeks ago
- 45:58when he was here at my home studio here.
- 46:02And that was moral disagreement because apparently we have a
- 46:06moral disagreement or there is a moral disagreement about the
- 46:14Clancy debate. That's what I'm calling it.
- 46:17You know, the court case with, with Clancy and whether it was
- 46:25OK or not for her to murder her own children and then blame it
- 46:34all on having mental issues. A and or, you know, medication
- 46:45issues is what I'm describing it as because she had so many
- 46:49doctors. I think he's getting back on.
- 46:55Hey Daryl. So I I found the other topic
- 46:58that I wanted to talk about and that was the Clancy debate, the
- 47:03court case and the moral the court case for the woman that
- 47:08killed her kids. And it ended up.
- 47:11I thought you saying something else.
- 47:14Oh, I don't know, the Clancy, the Clancy court case that ended
- 47:18up in a mistrial. And we have the one guy who held
- 47:23out and didn't go along to get along, but this ends up being a
- 47:29moral disagreement that he had with what everybody else was
- 47:34saying, which was, well, she had a mental issue.
- 47:41And she what I'm going to call is she was over medicated.
- 47:48Probably not necessarily that she didn't need some medication,
- 47:52but it's it sounded like what I was hearing that she was over
- 47:57medicated, you know, not she was on like the worst roller coaster
- 48:04you could ever think of. Flip flop up the side down
- 48:09inside out and and she didn't know she didn't have a true
- 48:15noise if we say that again. I said it, look at people are
- 48:25looking for somebody to blame here.
- 48:27Sure. I mean, my, my belief is
- 48:29ultimately, even if she's acquitted, she's not going home
- 48:34to home. She knows she's probably going
- 48:37to have mentals, emotional psychiatric care for the
- 48:40remainder of her life. She's a quadriplegic, or at
- 48:43least I think it's he's a paraplegic.
- 48:45Quadriplegic because she threw herself out of a window.
- 48:49Somebody's going to somebody's howling for her head because of
- 48:52those babies. Yeah, I, I think the biggest
- 48:58moral disagreement is not about her life so much as how how the
- 49:07fact that she killed three children is being celebrated and
- 49:14what it appears to be in, in from what I've been able to see,
- 49:20there are a lot of a lot of people who are claiming victory
- 49:23that she killed her kids and that was part of the postpartum
- 49:31termination of life. And I'm, I have a hard time even
- 49:37saying that act. You know, I want to say
- 49:39accurately, but you know, there are people who believe in
- 49:43postpartum. What is the pregnancy
- 49:49termination? Well, I mean, it's not a
- 49:50pregnancy anymore. If it's postpartum, the child is
- 49:54born. They are human beings and and
- 49:59people are celebrating that she killed her kids.
- 50:02I mean, that's just sick. It's just sick.
- 50:10I feel like we are back in Sodom and Gomorrah.
- 50:13If that's what they were doing, then we have not improved our
- 50:19culture and we're doing the exact same things again.
- 50:26Yeah, I mean, there are different snippets globally of
- 50:33of biblical history coming to light again.
- 50:37So Ecclesiastes 19, there's not a thing new under the sun.
- 50:42And we only thing that has changed is date, the time and
- 50:45it's people. But we are those same people.
- 50:48We us, them. We we're the same people, just
- 50:52dressed up differently. Well, I mean, yeah, OK, we have,
- 50:56we have computers instead of whatever they had, you know,
- 51:00whatever they were using then. What, what?
- 51:02What? Pigeons.
- 51:04Pigeon. Pigeons.
- 51:05Raisins. Yeah, pigeons.
- 51:07And raisins, right So. The the you know, messengers,
- 51:11you know messengers on donkeys, right?
- 51:14I, I mean, OK, so the, the method of the message being sent
- 51:20has changed, but the message content is, is still, that's
- 51:30exactly the people, the, the people behind the messages are
- 51:40still thinking the same stuff. I don't know.
- 51:43I mean, I think that's big on the moral, this grieving side of
- 51:50things and that we speak with people and, and I think that
- 51:59that that we lost him again, that there's a divide there,
- 52:05right? We are the, the divide of moral
- 52:08agreement is when we're all together, but it but it is
- 52:13dividing and it's getting wider and wider and wider.
- 52:18And that's the frustration. But how do we get people to
- 52:23navigate back towards moral agreement of having morality in
- 52:29the 1st place? If you're only having a law to
- 52:34establish the behavior that people are supposed to follow
- 52:40minus God, minus anything about not sinning, then what are
- 52:49people to follow? That's the whole point about
- 52:53having God as your true north, because then you have a moral
- 52:56compass that that is helping your behavior have the true
- 53:02north of how we are supposed to be.
- 53:07Does that make sense? I mean, I think it's the really,
- 53:10and that is the biggest part about being a revivalist is
- 53:16finding true north once again, because it's not about who you
- 53:24were. It's about who do you belong to
- 53:27right now, Right now, who do you answer to?
- 53:32If God is your true north, then you know who you answer to.
- 53:36But if God's not part of your moral compass, then what is?
- 53:43What is you have to, That's it. That is a internal spiritual
- 53:51connection that you have to reconcile on where your behavior
- 53:58has been and the things that you've had to answer for or you
- 54:02will have to answer for when we meet our Maker.
- 54:06And if you haven't figured that out, then that's going to be the
- 54:09hardest part for you to reconcile.
- 54:13You got to find you've got to find your true north, whatever
- 54:18that true north is. We're trying to help you find
- 54:21God as your true north on your moral compass.
- 54:27And Darryl's back on. So Darryl, what I kind of gave
- 54:30was the using my hands. You know, when the church is
- 54:35like this, there is no moral disagreement.
- 54:40But because the church is, you know, we're losing the
- 54:44connection between the people and our moral compass and God is
- 54:49our true north. The moral disagreement is
- 54:52separating between those who have God is their true north
- 54:57versus those who do not. And thinking that will somehow
- 55:03you know we are one and the same and when we are not.
- 55:07Because what's the foundation of your morality?
- 55:14Well, but we have imperfect people running things.
- 55:28That's why the difficulty continues to mount as it does,
- 55:34because we are imperfect. People attempted to serve a
- 55:38perfect God. That's our difficulty.
- 55:43True. And I mean, but before we leave
- 55:51here, we are at the backside of this, but the hour goes fast is
- 55:55it just does. It does we're.
- 55:58Going to always, we're going to always have these moral
- 56:01disagreements and the moral agreements that we do reach,
- 56:05there's still some disagreement there.
- 56:07So it's not perfect. But what we do have is the
- 56:10aspect of people who really are trying to ensure that there's
- 56:17something wonderful that occurs when we're trying to hammer out
- 56:21agreements that are going to please God, not people.
- 56:25That's that's our problem often is trying to please people.
- 56:29People. Never going to please.
- 56:31It's always going to be something.
- 56:32Well, you could have put that in right all.
- 56:37Well, you can. You can please.
- 56:39You can. You can always please God you.
- 56:41But you can't always. Yeah, can't.
- 56:44No, can't, can't, can't please all the people.
- 56:47It it it even in our lives? Because when I love man, this is
- 56:53smothering, right? It's, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 56:57smothering. It's, it's because it's, it's
- 56:59too objective and subjective to some people because they never
- 57:02experienced it before or they have, but they don't want it.
- 57:08They say they do, but they don't want it.
- 57:10It's the same thing with the, the, the moral disagreement,
- 57:14right? It's not going to be perfect,
- 57:17but when we continue to have creeping compromises, it's never
- 57:20going to be perfect. Right.
- 57:23Never, ever, ever. All right, so we need to do a
- 57:27closing prayer. And how about are we ready to
- 57:30jump into Exodus next week? Because I'm kind of excited,
- 57:33looking forward to jumping into Exodus.
- 57:35You won't be excited when you get the Numbers, Leviticus, and
- 57:38Deuteronomy, but go ahead. It's OK.
- 57:40I know we'll we'll start Exodus. I mean, it's a new season.
- 57:43We need to, we need to jump into Exodus, so.
- 57:46Is it going to be like, what is this?
- 57:48I told. You.
- 57:50No, it's OK. We'll, we'll get it.
- 57:51All right. So are you still driving?
- 57:54Right. So.
- 57:56All right, all right. Bo Winkle or Bambi?
- 57:59OK, All right. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you
- 58:03for bringing us all together. Thank you for another fabulous
- 58:07show, great discussion about some very important topics.
- 58:12Thank you for giving us this opportunity and letting veterans
- 58:17voices be heard because I know that we have some serious topics
- 58:22that we've talked about today And, and dear Lord, help us find
- 58:29moral agreement. Help us find you as our true
- 58:33north as a part of this mission, that you provide us the
- 58:38direction that we are supposed to follow and that we and our
- 58:43and our fellow listeners are willing to submit and bend the
- 58:47knee to you. In your name we pray.
