- 0:00This entire military is 1 cohesive dedicated force and the
- 0:06threats to our nations, they don't sleep.
- 0:09They're watching our every move. Iran, Russia, China, North
- 0:15Korea, ISIS, Al Qaeda, they may be watching this right now.
- 0:22Our military should not be mistaken for our cable news
- 0:25gadfest show. We don't care what you look
- 0:28like. You don't care who you voted
- 0:30for, who you worship, what you worship, who you love.
- 0:34It doesn't matter if your dad left you millions when he died
- 0:37or if you knew who your father was.
- 0:41We have been honed into a machine of.
- 0:44Lethal moving parts that you would be.
- 0:46Wise to avoid if you know what's good for you.
- 0:49We will not be intimidated. We will not back down.
- 0:56We don't want war, but if you want war in the United States of
- 1:00America, there's one thing I can promise you.
- 1:02So help me God, someone else will raise your sons and
- 1:06daughters. Opinions expressed in this
- 1:14program are those of the speakers and do not necessarily

- 2:18You are now. All right, good afternoon or
- 2:33good evening, depending where you're located at.
- 2:35Welcome to Trench Talk US, the Ferran Dossier show edition of
- 2:39the military talk show. Thank you for tuning, listening
- 2:42today as always, we have a very spectacular important show for
- 2:48you right here on Trench Talk Edition.
- 2:51US here on Military broadcast Radio network giving veterans a
- 2:56voice. So we appreciate them for
- 2:58allowing veterans, first responders and their families to
- 3:01come here and have a platform to share our life experience.
- 3:05You know, I, I found this microphone here, you see, 14
- 3:12years ago during my transition out of the military, for me, it
- 3:16was very difficult. I got out not by choice.
- 3:20I got it from a medical retirement, which most people
- 3:24think would think like, hey, yeah, that's that's good.
- 3:26You got medically retired. Yeah.
- 3:27But it wasn't on my terms. And so the how I can articulate
- 3:33it to you today is the identity crisis and the depression and
- 3:37the anxiety and all the stuff that came with that identity of
- 3:40being in that uniform for 24 years.
- 3:44That's all I knew. That's all I knew for those 24
- 3:47years. And before that identity was a
- 3:49basketball player identity. So you can see how if you are
- 3:53into sports or are athletes, police officers, a lot of us
- 3:58deal with these transitions and these identity crisis.
- 4:01But it's not just us, it's a human being flaw, right?
- 4:04Most people, if we tell the truth, are dealing with some
- 4:07kind of experience that we are trying to figure out how to
- 4:11manage in our life. And so for me, it was that
- 4:14soldier mentality, that mindset of being a soldier and, and it
- 4:18was, like I said, difficult, but God has brought me through that.
- 4:2114 years later, I'm still here. And this Trench Talk episode is
- 4:26pretty much my personal therapy. Like I found a way to stay
- 4:29connected to my veteran community as a service member.
- 4:34And so I started interviewing soldiers from all different
- 4:36walks of life, all different branches, all different ages.
- 4:41As soon as you say you're a veteran and you served, it's
- 4:43like, you know, it's like a brotherhood.
- 4:46Well, not like, but it is a brotherhood, a brother's
- 4:48sisterhood. So that connection is most is,
- 4:52is as we're going to talk about today, the mindset, the vets
- 4:55mindset. We're going to get into some of
- 4:57this because I know I could speak from it.
- 5:00I don't care. I'm not just talking about it,
- 5:01but I can actually speak from it and my guest today as well.
- 5:05So again, we thank you for tuning, listening in.
- 5:08You can catch me here on MBR Wednesdays at 4:00 PM Pacific
- 5:13Time. And you can catch me on the
- 5:15Ferrand Dosier show, the Life Tour Sports Edition on KCA Radio
- 5:20One O 6.5 FM, 1050 AM and the Inland Empire, also at
- 5:24kcaradio.com. That's Sunday nights at 8:00 PM.
- 5:28Also, I have a show on used to be Dash radio, now it's called
- 5:32Lit Live. You can catch me over there.
- 5:34I have a Christian hip hop talk show called the Reference Radio
- 5:37Show. It's on channel GH3, God's House
- 5:40of Hip Hop that airs Saturdays at 7:00 and Sundays at 5:00 PM.
- 5:47But if you want more information about what I'm up to, easy, just
- 5:49go to farand.com and you'll find all the stuff that I'm up to in
- 5:54life. My spiritual journey as a youth
- 5:58ministering, training, youth speaker in training.
- 6:00I also speak at my church. So I speak at 2 churches twice a
- 6:05month. That's ultimately one of my most
- 6:08important conversations. And then of course, my sickle
- 6:11cell trait. What you hear about that later,
- 6:13if you want information about that, WDCO and sct.org.
- 6:17All right, so with that, we are going to play our public service
- 6:21announcement and come right back.
- 6:23I'm very excited today to have this guy as a guest today.
- 6:29We go, we don't go way back, but we go back far enough, like not
- 6:334 flats on the Cadillac, but maybe 2 flats with a spare on
- 6:36the right. So we go back a little bit of
- 6:38ways in this broadcasting world as well.
- 6:41So I'm I'm very excited to have him today to talk about these
- 6:46these veterans conversations, but more so to to introduce him
- 6:50to the listeners and and and see what he's up to in his journey
- 6:53today. So again, thank you for tune
- 6:55listening in. This is trench talk US.
- 6:58I'm going to play these PSA and we'll come right back and get
- 7:00right into the episode today. Thanks for tune listening in.
- 7:06Some of us still carry the burden of battle.
- 7:09It threatens to drown us in our everyday lives.
- 7:12In battle, we had our weapons and combat gear to keep us safe,
- 7:16to keep us confident, but when we returned home, we were not
- 7:20armed with weapons and gear to cope with our own minds.
- 7:24I was lucky to find my combat gear, my mental weapon and it's
- 7:28called Kamago. Kamago is a drug free device
- 7:31that allows you to achieve calm in less than 3 minutes and
- 7:35moments of anxiety, stress, anger, panic or insomnia.
- 7:40Not with medication, but rather by activating the
- 7:43parasympathetic nervous system through breathing regulation and
- 7:46multi sensory stimulation. A recent study has shown that
- 7:50Comago decreases PTSD and anxiety levels in Veterans,
- 7:53helping those who are suffering and having a long lasting
- 7:56effect. Visit comago.com to learn how
- 7:59you can get Comago through the VA or with a special Veterans
- 8:03discount code. Hey, what's up man?
- 8:22How you doing? I'm.
- 8:23Blessed my brother. I'm good, man, I'm good.
- 8:24Hey, did you see the game last night?
- 8:26I was your game. But did you see the shot?
- 8:28I lost money from that. Oh man, that shot was.
- 8:31Old man, but it was good. Yeah.
- 8:36What's the name? You really want to know.
- 8:42I do. Exhaustion, muscle spasm,
- 8:49Asthmatic issues, unexpected sickle cell tray Triton.
- 8:53Are you serious? When I was young, I found out I
- 8:56had sickle cell tray. My mom's told me, but I didn't
- 8:59have no knowledge of it. But when I got older, I had a
- 9:01child. The doctor told me my daughter
- 9:03has sickle cell trait. You know, the fact that both
- 9:06parents have sickle cell trait, there's a 50% chance the child
- 9:09may have the trait and 25% chance the child may have the
- 9:12disease. And that's what's the count.
- 9:14Do you know that 2.5 million people in the United States have
- 9:16sickle cell trait? 300 million people globally.
- 9:19I didn't find out I had sickle cell trait until I was in the
- 9:21Army 10 years. Next thing you know I had a
- 9:23sickle cell trait exertion site. April SO.
- 9:26I thought that was a black gene or something.
- 9:28Nah man, the black community is number 21 out of 36,000 babies
- 9:32are being born with sickle cell disease.
- 9:34You could be Caucasian, Mediterranean, European.
- 9:36You got really a bloodline man. There is an inherited gene in
- 9:42our community that has been forgotten.
- 9:44The name is sickle cell trait. WDCONSCT, also known as What's
- 9:49the Count, is out to bring awareness, education and
- 9:52prevention to people all over the globe.
- 9:55Want more information? Call us now at 323-215-5384 or
- 10:01visit www.wdconsct.org. All right, welcome back to the
- 10:15Rondo's show, Trench Talk US edition again, again, thank you
- 10:20for tuning, listening in again. So my guest today, like I said,
- 10:25we I've been in the broadcasting world self probably mostly
- 10:29self-taught since 2009 to 2010. I became an advocate out of my
- 10:34depression and anxiety and my transition out of the military.
- 10:38A friend of mine told me like, why don't you need to go do
- 10:40something with yourself? And so he's like, you should do
- 10:42like a sports show or something because back then I was a huge
- 10:46sports fan. But for me during that
- 10:48depression and suicide ideation, I lost interest in a lot of
- 10:51things. And sports was 1.
- 10:54And so I found blog talk radio and jumped on that and and have
- 10:57a sports show and that kind of kept me living to the future of
- 11:00that show versus in the future of uncertainty.
- 11:03And by maintaining that sanity with that talk show and
- 11:08discovering that my sickle cell trade was with the cause of my
- 11:12military career coming to an end and do my research, I found that
- 11:15not just military personnel, but sickle cell trade had
- 11:18complications. But athletes have died and
- 11:21collapsed from sickle cell trade exertion with rotomyolysis.
- 11:24So that connected me back to the sports world, but not from AI.
- 11:27Want to check the highlights and watch the games per SE.
- 11:30But it came to more of the mental toughness of sports,
- 11:33right? Because I could relate to the
- 11:35identity of an athlete, right? That's dealing with their whole
- 11:40sports career, maybe never really dealing with the emotions
- 11:44the when we talk about emotional intelligence these days, right?
- 11:47So never really have an opportunity to deal with, you
- 11:50know, grandma passing away or the divorce of their parents or
- 11:54a parent passing away or whatever that is a loved one.
- 11:57And you mostly never get a chance to deal with that because
- 12:00you're so focused on, you know, playing this game or, or getting
- 12:03to college or get into professional sports.
- 12:06And so we see professional athletes when their career comes
- 12:09to an end, sometimes they're lost.
- 12:11We hear about all of that stuff, right?
- 12:13And so as veterans, we know that one, every 65 minutes of
- 12:17veteran, our brother and sister completes their life.
- 12:21And So what is that right? And so I, I, I was there.
- 12:25I know what that feels like. I know what it tastes like.
- 12:27I know what it is to want to, to do that.
- 12:30But then what interrupted that for me was the willingness to
- 12:34try to figure out like, I know, like I know I have mental
- 12:38toughness. I know I play basketball.
- 12:40But that feeling of, of, of emotional distress I had never
- 12:44felt before like that. And so if you look in life, as I
- 12:49mentioned, veterans, you know, take their life, complete their
- 12:52life, police officers. So what is it about the human
- 12:55being that we're trying to figure out?
- 12:57Why am I born? Why am I here?
- 13:00Right? And God showed me that after
- 13:01through all of that madness, that sickle cell trait gene was
- 13:06what I was born to my mother's womb to deliver a message.
- 13:11And I needed that military career, right?
- 13:13That was part of the plan, but it wasn't my purpose of my life.
- 13:17It got me to where I need to be today.
- 13:19And I still use that mentality in my work.
- 13:22And so when we talk about the veteran mindset and we talk
- 13:25about what it is, you know, what's going on, it's not just
- 13:28veterans. That's that's we're still people
- 13:31first, right? And so when we talk about these
- 13:34conversations here on these platforms, it's really to help
- 13:37share our stories, our testimonies, so that maybe
- 13:40somebody out there who's listening, your heart can be
- 13:43softened and to figure out why were you born?
- 13:46What is your purpose, your passions, what do you care
- 13:48about? And, and I share that with my
- 13:51veteran community today. Don't lose yourself.
- 13:53I lost myself in that rank, in that camouflage.
- 13:56I didn't know who Ferron was until I had to go through those
- 14:00those episodes. And some, unfortunately, some
- 14:04people don't make it through that.
- 14:05Some people never discover why they're here.
- 14:07But we can have those conversations.
- 14:09So my guest today, my, my, my, my context for this conversation
- 14:14is life before, during and after military service, Right.
- 14:18And so my guy here is going to share what he's up to in life
- 14:22before, during and after service.
- 14:25You ready, Sir? Oh.
- 14:27Man, well, that well, that's somebody that I'm ready.
- 14:30I was born ready. I was born October 21st.
- 14:35I'm ready. I'm ready.
- 14:36How you doing? Man, you know Farooq man, let me
- 14:39tell you people out there who will know me and his buddy met
- 14:42at La Live, I think it was 2000 about like 12 man.
- 14:47Yeah, yeah, yeah. Doing doing Cinco de Mayo
- 14:51because we were doing Cinco de Mayo, our first show ever.
- 14:53Me and oh boy, you know Van Eric Marshall and and yeah, it was
- 14:59Cinco de Mayo and we had we had the vets today live and we out
- 15:03there helping the vets. Yes, I was a a vet for a stench.
- 15:06I was 13B. I mean, you know, injury kind of
- 15:11prone the flat feet, right knee and yeah, it it does the boot
- 15:17camp for Leonard Wood it it. For living in the.
- 15:20Woods living in the woods exactly I'm a country boy by
- 15:23heart by raising raising you know in in California, you know
- 15:27raising the country. I thought I was born here and a
- 15:30phenomenal story. Have a book out, and for those
- 15:33who don't know who I am, my name is DeAndre Adams AKA Big Dre.
- 15:38Future City, California Crossman District 8, Los Angeles.
- 15:41I'm going to win. It working that out.
- 15:44Working that out and when when Farooq called me and said, man,
- 15:47I got these these concepts, these shows, that's all you have
- 15:50to say. One time, you know, I was in
- 15:52right away. I wasn't question no time.
- 15:55I hear, I hear all my idols, Joe Rogan, you know, you know, Dan
- 16:00Patrick, even Stephen F man, I love Stephen because he's just
- 16:03straight to the point, you know, right, right, right.
- 16:04And and you know, of course, Shannon Sharpe and all the all
- 16:07the good ones and my main man, shack and shack don't let it
- 16:10happen. And I'm not here to to throw no,
- 16:12no flag on on nobody's on coffins and not not there yet,
- 16:16But it's a lot of lame ones out there too.
- 16:17I'm not going to say your. Name but Big Dre.
- 16:20Big Dre, we was doing this when it wasn't even done like this,
- 16:26man. All day.
- 16:27They talk live. We had cameras, it was
- 16:31streaming. Yes stream.
- 16:33Yes, it. Was Apple Play we had.
- 16:35Live 365 We was. Playing music, music, everything
- 16:38before all of this, before the storm, everything you know, and
- 16:43to see what, what you have been through.
- 16:45Like you said, wearing that camouflage takes it out of you,
- 16:49you know, and it, it brings you they, they, they, they destroy
- 16:52your, your soul and bring it back out of the ashes as a
- 16:55phoenix. But then sometimes people don't
- 16:57come out to them ashes. They stay stuck in the ass.
- 17:00And unfortunately I got lucky and got injured got out, you
- 17:04know, with the guy said you guys, I got something different
- 17:06for you. He healed the right, the right
- 17:08leg, the left leg went bad with the play ball.
- 17:12Baseball have a baseball player. I, I left California as an all
- 17:16American in my going to a sophomore year baseball.
- 17:19But then I was a heavy basketball player.
- 17:22But. Hold on, let's just save it.
- 17:24We go, we go. I'm a guide this I'm a guide you
- 17:26I'm a guide. We going, we going guide the
- 17:27conversation, man. Again, thank you for those who
- 17:30are listening and we appreciate you.
- 17:34We got a couple of comments over here.
- 17:35We got Nelson little TV. You know who that is?
- 17:39Grand Rising. Grand rides, you know, it may be
- 17:42somebody I know by the way, I said grand rides, you know,
- 17:45grand rides is always good because, you know, I just say a
- 17:47God's day. Me and the mistress say God's
- 17:49day. We don't try to put it on on
- 17:52that good morning. Good morning has a different
- 17:53meanings, but we said God's day without God's day is no day.
- 17:58So that's how I look at things. Let's go.
- 18:00We're going to go back in time. Life before service.
- 18:02So who is Little Dre growing up? Let's go to Little Dre first.
- 18:08Well, see, little Dre is a kid that was the youngest 13 people
- 18:13in the household. We was a we was a black pretty
- 18:16buzz twice. Y'all had all the squares.
- 18:20Yeah, all the squares. We had those squares a little
- 18:22bit. And the housekeeper, yeah, the
- 18:23housekeeper name was Thelma Adams, restless old my mom and,
- 18:27and, and, and Curtis Adams, my restless old, my dad.
- 18:31That was that was a housekeeper that was back and forth.
- 18:33You know, we we did our part being my sisters in my brothers
- 18:36place. I was story about me.
- 18:39I was born stillborn, I died at birth.
- 18:42My mother died giving birth to me and I, we both came back 22
- 18:47minutes after one another. What?
- 18:50This is the most emotional story that whoever listeners right now
- 18:54may have a healing heart behind this.
- 18:56My mother gave birth to me. I was like a miracle child #13
- 19:01after her body's been to so much like 12 kids #13 comes like,
- 19:05oops, we have one more. And she knew I was going to be
- 19:10that special kid. She just knew.
- 19:12She said she knew it because when I died, I was stillborn,
- 19:15stopped breathing. I was that the blue black baby.
- 19:18I caught her and and I, I sat my mom bosom for for 27 total
- 19:23minutes. The first four, she sat there,
- 19:26looked at me and said, I don't think he's breathing.
- 19:27They can say, oh, he's breathing, He's fine.
- 19:29And the nurse said he's not breathing.
- 19:30And then there it was, I left this this world for 22 minutes
- 19:36and God took me and said, OK, I'm going to look down.
- 19:40I'm going to look down. We going to look down together.
- 19:43As a young child going up into a man, he took my whole life from
- 19:48a baby to where I was going to be at, where I'm at now.
- 19:50All the trials, tribulations, the things I've been through,
- 19:53the hurt, the pain, asthma, found out sickle cell trait, my
- 19:58family, my one, my middle boy. And shout out to all three of my
- 20:02sons. You know, you know Michael, you
- 20:05know Roderick and and Trevor and and the fourth son I, I found
- 20:09out I had while I was on the show live on LA Talk.
- 20:12Yeah, yeah. We're on the show and someone
- 20:14caller calls in and say it was about Debbie Daddies and
- 20:17military. And here comes this call.
- 20:20My, my, my, my manager. Excuse me.
- 20:22My manager said this woman said she know you.
- 20:24I'm like, what? So at the commercial break, I go
- 20:27into office. I said, how old is my son?
- 20:30I knew. By the way, you know what?
- 20:33I had a son I never knew about. She grew up.
- 20:36Oh. My goodness.
- 20:38I'm a wall player so this is all in this dream as a kid that guy
- 20:43was sitting to me telling me what I was going to go through
- 20:45all my never showed the tribulation but he knew I was
- 20:47going to hit these humps in my life.
- 20:48Yes, yes. And everything.
- 20:49So then, then as God said, Are you ready to go back and start
- 20:56your journey? And boom.
- 20:59So they never touched me. My father said don't touch it,
- 21:01don't touch it. Don't touch her, touch her.
- 21:03All of a sudden, yeah, we're in the garden.
- 21:06I start tell that. We can tell that we can hear in
- 21:07the background tell that we can hear.
- 21:11And I, I got kept saying, who in the heck let the dog out?
- 21:16And I said to myself, who did that and what happened?
- 21:20I'm sorry folks, he was on a goodness call.
- 21:22It's OK. And because we had an office of
- 21:24Regency in LA, we have a couple of office of Regencies, but we
- 21:27said, hey, let's do something different and I'm going to let
- 21:32you come back. And I figured I was your Mama.
- 21:35So as I come back, my mom stopped breathing.
- 21:38Wow. So while I'm coming out her
- 21:41heartbeat ready to slow him down, she goes and her testimony
- 21:45in church before she God took her as a grown woman back into
- 21:50childhood the opposite way. And she says this is the element
- 21:55of life and my clothing line. I'm talking to my boy Derek 2
- 21:58Tones, who does all my clothing line stuff.
- 22:00Derek, I know you're watching who does all my clothing for me.
- 22:03A hell of a printer. IT tech guy by trade.
- 22:08All my all my sweats I have It's a lion's den.
- 22:11It's big Drake 45 collection and that 45 stands for elements of
- 22:15life. It's the four.
- 22:16It's the four quarter from the earth 4.
- 22:19The five is the 5th element of the thing you deal with life.
- 22:22Number one is birth number 2-3 and four, what you make a life
- 22:26and #5IS death what your judge. So that's, that's how I came
- 22:31with that type. That's how I came with that.
- 22:33So people kept saying that me and Vin Egg was laughed about
- 22:36this man. You're going to be 45 victims,
- 22:3745 victims. And what happened when President
- 22:42Trump came? He was a 45th president.
- 22:44Yeah, he was. I said to myself, the elements
- 22:48of life, so you can say what you want to say about the man.
- 22:51I'm in between that he he, he said he right now it's it's up
- 22:55to God. What's God control his country
- 22:57and let me do it, that man. Thank you.
- 22:59Thank you for saying that. Thank you for saying.
- 23:01I'm not. I don't say he good or he's bad
- 23:03or he ugly. It's up to us as individual
- 23:06people understand what's really going on.
- 23:08So that's what little Dre was raised on in the church, in the
- 23:11church, in the. Church so we can we go spiritual
- 23:13later on, We go to the spiritual later on.
- 23:16So that's what happened. So as I grew older, I knew the
- 23:19testimony. I watched my mother, I put me in
- 23:21church on the spot. This is my testimony baby right
- 23:23here called me testimony baby, not the testimony baby.
- 23:29So it was crazy. So I went through all elements
- 23:32and dealing with asthma Austin still playing swimming running.
- 23:36She said how could a boy had admin run like this?
- 23:38I'm running the speed and I had lightning speed and and and
- 23:41baseball just came natural and I started to my boy Fred Berry
- 23:44Berry the the late Fred Berry court we run.
- 23:46We all know of his brother Matthew Berry discovered me
- 23:49playing baseball and no you discovered me.
- 23:52I'm going to back up my fins in my on my yard and Pomona
- 23:55throwing walnuts and cars going by.
- 23:57Oh. You used to do that too, yes.
- 24:00We threw rocks though walnut. Water and hit his wife through
- 24:08the window in the van and he banged up.
- 24:11I ran I had all the green smut wallet on my my white T-shirt.
- 24:15My father said the man say, hey, he's kids throwing around hit my
- 24:18wife on the side of faith and my I'm in, I'm sleeping Bob.
- 24:22It's like during the afternoon. My father, yeah, sleeping in the
- 24:24three in the afternoon. Bring a little narrow butt out
- 24:26here. I go out there and I said, Oh my
- 24:28God, I see the making bacon on the side of his van, 2 little
- 24:31pigs having sex. And I said, Oh my God, this is
- 24:33crazy. And come to find out, he I never
- 24:37knew he was Matthew Berry, the older brother of Fred Berry from
- 24:39What's Happening. And yeah, and the lockers and
- 24:43stuff. So it was like, I have a
- 24:45baseball team. He throw that because he must be
- 24:46on the throat. How's your how's your wife
- 24:49doing? Yeah, she's all right.
- 24:50She had a mark. So I had to work for them for
- 24:52six months. Are you serious?
- 24:55All they trashed out and they had kids.
- 24:57His son was Steven Williams, my friend and their daughter, it
- 25:00was Kerry. And she said you're hit by a
- 25:02Mama, we're going to beat you up.
- 25:03And they they, they beat you. I can beat up first and not do
- 25:06the do the chores. I got to be referred to the
- 25:10insurance. Let me, let me let.
- 25:12Me ask you this my my first one of my first main segments is
- 25:17life of a 5 year old, right? And this is dedicated to my dad.
- 25:21My dad passed in 2019. But what I discovered at 40
- 25:25years old in my transition of coming out of that mental,
- 25:27mental health and stuff, is that I had made a story that my dad
- 25:31didn't love me, right? OK.
- 25:34And so for not, not everyone, but for some of us, you know,
- 25:38the world says you, you got daddy issues, you got Mama
- 25:40issues, right? How, how was, how would you say
- 25:43your relationship with what was with your dad?
- 25:45How was that growing up for you? My father, my father was really
- 25:51not my hero. He's always working.
- 25:53He's a truck driver, always in a row.
- 25:55My, my hero was my godfather, you know, resting.
- 25:58So Pat, no, Pat Patterson, he told me, he showed me how to cut
- 26:02grass, heads grass, do the garden stuff.
- 26:05He showed me how to do all that stuff.
- 26:07But it was one exercise he made me do.
- 26:09He made me change my whole life. He said close your eyes and
- 26:12you're going to cut this whole front yard with your eyes
- 26:14closed. Now you know, UK see these,
- 26:18these people who can, who are blind can see better than Ray
- 26:20Charles and Stevie Wonder people, Julio Fusciano, all the
- 26:23people that could do that stuff blind and walking without people
- 26:26holding them. I said that'd be a PC cake man.
- 26:29I got to do cut neck. It was a big giant maze circle
- 26:33all the place, I said. He said, see, now what's this
- 26:38whole exercise? What was the exercise all about?
- 26:41No, Godfather, he said, to show you that mental health, it is
- 26:46very important in this world. He he is World War One vet and a
- 26:49part of children. So he said mental health is very
- 26:54important. If you don't guide the right guy
- 26:55except for your life's understanding and things around
- 26:58you will kill you. Wow.
- 27:01And he, yeah, it was deep. And he told me, I said, I said,
- 27:04So when the grass grew back, he cut the grass.
- 27:07Let me see your old butt. Cut the grass down blindfolded.
- 27:10He cut that grass so sharp. For real, I have never seen
- 27:14anybody cutting grass that didn't miss an inch.
- 27:17Blindfolded. Blindfolded, the whole line, the
- 27:20huge line. I said I was being, I was being
- 27:23punked before asking Christian born, you know, you know, I'm
- 27:27looking around like who in the Bush is going to jump out a big
- 27:29old giant 400 LB camera back in their age 70s.
- 27:33So I said to myself, but my dad would be on the road.
- 27:36He would call me and say I'm bringing something back from
- 27:39Texas and he'll be like this. He'll bring this big old giant
- 27:43bag of prunes back. Little sour prunes.
- 27:46Yeah, yeah, yeah. Make sure you go to the
- 27:48bathroom. Oh, Oh yeah, big time.
- 27:49So I get pruned and he say I was sucking up by 20-30 minutes and
- 27:53then you're all sour and I was getting my sister to something.
- 27:55And that was my my, my time with him.
- 27:57He had a sick and sick GTO mint edition until he died in 2020.
- 28:02That same brand, same red color, the Chrome, everything original,
- 28:06never long. And of course my mom passed 2014
- 28:09and he never remarried. And the, the, the witch, the
- 28:12little witch from you know, who came and got everything and
- 28:15didn't never give us our our family and stuff back, but
- 28:18crazy. But yeah, you got I I, I felt my
- 28:21father loved me for years after that.
- 28:24I see it now. Let me ask you, looking back as
- 28:27an adult and, and him being the truck driver and driving, you
- 28:32know, to make a living to provide for his family, did did
- 28:35you, did you see that differently?
- 28:36Like man, like he was driven to be a provider or what?
- 28:39How did you, how did you find peace with that?
- 28:41Because you know, doing. That for a reason, right?
- 28:43Yeah, he was. He was.
- 28:44My father was a great provider. He he never, never cursed.
- 28:47I mean, if he did on him of God, no, My father would slam his
- 28:51hand. He says people tend to biscuits.
- 28:52I mean, he would say if he slam his head with a nail, he would
- 28:56never. I said come on, or you could do
- 28:57it. Taste so bad ass.
- 29:00He would not never do it. He would do it.
- 29:02He went mother bean of biscuits. I said that was a bean of
- 29:05biscuit, Dad. I said you can do it and he just
- 29:08never did it. So one day I said I'm going to
- 29:10never cuss from my dad. That's great.
- 29:11Until I had a log and I was logging in Mississippi, hit my
- 29:15thumb right here and lost his nail.
- 29:17I said some words. I don't know if if Prince would
- 29:21understand he would say that's the nastiest song ever written.
- 29:24My mother up. You said him a bit.
- 29:26I was using words. I didn't even cuss word you.
- 29:28We haven't infinite yet in America.
- 29:30It was so much pain in my thumb. So I knew my dad was something
- 29:34special with just a quiet Sagittarius man October,
- 29:37October, October 9th, I'm going to talk December 9th and sister,
- 29:41he's real quiet but humble. My Mama vocal.
- 29:44Yeah, we're going to get to moms in a second.
- 29:47Oh, yeah. But that's what it was, just my
- 29:49father. I didn't love him as much as I
- 29:51thought I did until I lost him. See.
- 29:54You know. And that's what we, that's why
- 29:55we have these talks, because we don't want people to.
- 29:58I mean, our stories are going to be what they are.
- 30:01You've got one, Mama. You got 11, Daddy.
- 30:03We can recognize that before that person passes, so you don't
- 30:07have to for those who get stuck with that resentment and regret
- 30:10sometimes I was so grateful that I here with my dad and I had
- 30:14eight years with him before he passed exactly right and so.
- 30:18My, my my father hit his Elm. Excuse me.
- 30:20He hit the helmet. A peg.
- 30:21Grant. He had cash.
- 30:23He died of cash. Answer picked that he hit it for
- 30:26some reason, I said. And a new wife came into town.
- 30:29Well, your father's perfectly fine.
- 30:30I said. You sure?
- 30:31And I was on the road still bodyguarding.
- 30:34And my father was very always, you know, a dangerous son.
- 30:37You won't get killed. Take a bull of this, right.
- 30:39You know, my mother's always my hero.
- 30:41She's always my biggest fan. My dad, No.
- 30:44So I think he never came to my baseball games, never came to
- 30:48the basketball game. And the both times he came
- 30:50through, I got injured. Both of us don't come up, don't
- 30:54come every don't come. Yeah, so but but but I loved
- 31:00them. I went back home.
- 31:02Of course, dad, I said one thing you did teach me safety is a is
- 31:07a is a virtue for me being safe. So I teach that my and my
- 31:10grandkids, sons and daughters, and I teach that my son for sure
- 31:14my girl too. I'm I'm a safety holic.
- 31:16I. Think I'm with you on that one.
- 31:18My my dad told us how to drive. Taught me how to drive where
- 31:21like you're saying, he taught me how to to see the bumper, front
- 31:26bumper while I'm in the driver's seat.
- 31:27You got to be able to know what that for the front bumper is the
- 31:30rear bumper, the side so and that mental health that's.
- 31:35That's yeah, yeah. Visualize that bumper.
- 31:38Mental is deep. That's why the military is.
- 31:40So it's so critical to that because if you're going to be
- 31:43handling $40 million equipment like no, you know, you got
- 31:47those, you got those, you know you got those Prowlers, you got
- 31:50those, you got the Cobras, you got the Apaches, many probably
- 31:54you get on trust you with a $50 million plane air.
- 31:57You can't use the mental capacity of it, of fighting on a
- 31:59person. My.
- 32:00Property book was $6 million, so I was a surprise, Sergeant, so
- 32:03you know, yeah. You know and you know, and at
- 32:061.2 million that missing they come looking for.
- 32:09They're looking for me. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:11Staff first, first class Astoria.
- 32:13Where's he at? He went to the He went to the
- 32:15bathroom. He'd been going 11 days now he.
- 32:18Last last piece about your dad. If you had to think of a song,
- 32:22what's the first song that comes to mind about your father?
- 32:24It's a gospel song. My father, my father great
- 32:27singer. It was called I'm working on the
- 32:30building. I'm working on to build a true
- 32:32foundation. My father, my father favorite
- 32:35song every time a sudden they go, I pass that we hear
- 32:37international Curtis Adam. He had to sing that favorite
- 32:41song, work on the building, and we had a list.
- 32:43So we get home and spend in a in a station where we had a Brady
- 32:45Bunch station wagon. Same color.
- 32:47Brady Oh my goodness. Nothing.
- 32:48We roll. We rolled down the street.
- 32:49We started saying we work, you know.
- 32:51But he said you work or you go work on the shores, you know?
- 32:53So we had to come to chores and do it.
- 32:57So that's what it was, man. But that's what I remember
- 33:00mostly. I've seen that song.
- 33:01That's all the time at church. Thank you.
- 33:03Thank you for sharing that about your dad.
- 33:05This is trench talk US the Frondo 'sier show, right guy?
- 33:10Big Dre is in the building. DeAndre Adams is here sharing
- 33:12his background. Ladies and gentlemen, we're
- 33:14going to come right back after the station identification break

- 33:21like real quick. All right, again, this is the

- 35:40Again, thank you for tuning, listening in.
- 35:42I hope you are enjoying the conversation so far.
- 35:44That first part of that episode is very important to me.
- 35:47We teach or I teach, especially around reconciliation and
- 35:51forgiveness. When my dad, you know, passed
- 35:55away, I was so grateful that we had reconciled our relationship
- 35:58because I know that if I had not today, I probably would be in
- 36:03some little hole in the corner somewhere because of all the
- 36:06stuff that I thought that he didn't care or love me or, or
- 36:09was there for me. But it wasn't until I was 40
- 36:11years old that I realized for 35 years that I thought, I thought
- 36:15my dad didn't love me, but he did.
- 36:17And when I went to him, see, I didn't wait for my dad to come
- 36:20to me. Some people wait for people to
- 36:22come to them for forgiveness. No, I went to my dad and said,
- 36:25hey, thank you for just teaching me how to color and to walk and
- 36:29to take me to these places. And then I told my medical story
- 36:32about him that I discovered that wasn't the truth.
- 36:34It was my truth, but it wasn't the truth.
- 36:37And all my dad say was, I just want to spend time with you.
- 36:40You're my son. So it never even affected him.
- 36:43I was the one carrying that weight.
- 36:45I was the one carrying that, that lack of or what I thought
- 36:48he didn't. And so we teach that because
- 36:50it's biblical, you know, we talk about honoring your father and
- 36:53mother. Yes, you're not going to love or
- 36:55like your mom or dad everyday. That's not realistic.
- 36:59But the honor is how you think about them in your heart.
- 37:02And that's why it's so important to honor your father and mother
- 37:05because it's how we think about them is most important.
- 37:08And no one walks around and says, oh, I don't love my mom, I
- 37:11don't love my dad. Well, I would say I love them,
- 37:13but they get on my nerve. And so I actually went to work
- 37:16around why that I felt that they got on my nerve.
- 37:19So that part of that segment is so important because as we look
- 37:23and today's society, our children, our children are
- 37:26that's not next generation. And, and how do we keep those
- 37:29children attached to us, connected to us because the
- 37:33sense of belonging is so important.
- 37:35That's what we look for as human beings.
- 37:37We want to belong. That is the most important
- 37:39thing. But sometimes with our parents,
- 37:42who are the two most important people of our life, that there's
- 37:45a fracture or a wound or disappointment or whatever that
- 37:48is. And sometimes we don't have, we
- 37:51don't know what it is to be in a daughter as a child.
- 37:52So we make up these stories. The brain makes up these stories
- 37:55to fill in. And then now we walk around
- 37:58with, they don't care about me or I was abandoned and it might
- 38:01not be the truth. So that is very important for
- 38:04me. One of my main conversations
- 38:06outside of my sickle cell trade talks.
- 38:08So thank you for listening to me for that piece.
- 38:10Let's bring them back, man. Man, oh man, I, I hear it man,
- 38:16and and and it's so wonderful you talk about that because I
- 38:19was AI was a mama's boy being a young man got away with a lot of
- 38:23stuff, man, throwing rocks, breaking windows out of cars,
- 38:26but but never never really sold no drugs.
- 38:30But I I practiced an an occasional practicing occasional
- 38:35fraction of of being around the neighborhood.
- 38:38Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. No one can cast that first stone
- 38:41that, you bad guy. Nobody can cast that stone that.
- 38:43You that's why I had my my boy make the necklace for me from
- 38:46Goodwood. It's a peace sign.
- 38:48It's had a peace out there. You know what I mean?
- 38:49The boy Goodwood So a boy dare the Goodwood maybe a peace sign
- 38:53hand necklace. But yeah, and and like you said
- 38:56about sickle cell is a, is a, is a just so I call it the the
- 39:04misunderstandable disease that I consider a situation that people
- 39:10think it's a black disease. It's not it's not something it's
- 39:12a black disease, whatever it is that you deal with and sickle
- 39:16cell trait and people, it's a good chance for people who who
- 39:19are born can get the whole entire disease.
- 39:22T Bods is a prime example from TLC.
- 39:25And I have a grandson autistic. So I know autism is very, very
- 39:29painful. My, my good friend Tony Braxton
- 39:34have a son and the son of my boy Riley Pete and his wife, you
- 39:37know, have a son autistic and I kind of think a couple of celebs
- 39:43I know had sons who had, you know, had sickle cell and they
- 39:46deal with that. My sister Darlene had sickle
- 39:48cell and she had lupus and she. Passed.
- 39:50That's what I was about to say. You and I was.
- 39:52When we first met, we were talking about sickle cell lupus.
- 39:54Back then, yeah. So lupus advocate.
- 39:57Yeah, as you know, and it's to see people who died of lupus,
- 40:00you ask yourself, juice, it's what we it's what we trained to
- 40:02put in our mouths. Now, a doctor told me you want
- 40:05to lose 6070 lbs or you're going to die.
- 40:07And I'm 64. I'm three.
- 40:08I'm three. I'm not saying my weight.
- 40:10I'm 64357 and I lost. 8 lbs because I've been doing a a
- 40:15cleanse called it's with turmeric, lemon juice, pepper
- 40:19the last 14 days. Now me and the message said we
- 40:22got to live. We're going to love each other
- 40:23and marry each other. We got to live together as one
- 40:25with the healthiness of putting things out mouth to me each
- 40:27other for sure. And we as black people.
- 40:30I have some of my my my wonderful black white friends I
- 40:33love so much. One named Kevin Indigo Copeland
- 40:37is a good friend of mine. He's the blackest white guy,
- 40:41like he's my brother. And a movie coming out called
- 40:44Black Creek, He's the first, the first movie that has Indian
- 40:49slash martial arts. The legendary grandmaster
- 40:53Cynthia Rock. Rock is the star.
- 40:55Yeah. And he's in the movie.
- 40:56He plays Indian on black foot like myself.
- 40:59And he has, I know he has some. He's a former vet army, too.
- 41:02You know, you deal with stuff, You know, you deal with a lot of
- 41:05He's on the show back in the day.
- 41:06You do a lot of things that that we try to figure out why and if
- 41:10my mother my mother played a big part and I I went in in military
- 41:15invested because I dared my cousin.
- 41:17My cousin was just getting in trouble all the time from in
- 41:19Mississippi. So I said I'm going to National
- 41:21Guard. My uncle said no, I'll be a real
- 41:23man. We'll go service country.
- 41:25I said, you know, I didn't want to, I didn't want to hear.
- 41:27I didn't want to hear that one because him being a Vietnam vet,
- 41:31he's the first Rain Ranger. No, no wonder he said that.
- 41:34Yeah, I said come on man. And I have uncle now who I deal
- 41:37with all the times a lot. He ever let me get his benefits.
- 41:41He had to be applied for him. He said, you know what, he's
- 41:43back in the Agent Orange era. He refused to go.
- 41:46He's 73 years old. I said all the back pay you get
- 41:48right now man, right? Now, yes.
- 41:50I said he said he didn't want to do.
- 41:52He said I just want to. I said it's just too much.
- 41:54I said I'm going to live with you to help you get started.
- 41:56No, tell him we have people that will help.
- 41:58Him, yeah. And get all that money and you
- 42:01got, you got the son and daughter.
- 42:03One of his, one of his sons is murdered and my cousin murdered.
- 42:05And this is my first. My father, he was brothers.
- 42:08It's it was I had three aunties. I had two twins, Maisie and
- 42:12Daisy. My aunt Daisy's gone Maisie,
- 42:14Juanita and Brendan sell alive and they was all American
- 42:17basketball players. My my twin, my twin aunties was
- 42:20Maisie and my oldest was oldest sister.
- 42:23Auntie Juanita was a automatic basketball at Alcorn State.
- 42:28So and the the traits in our family come from heart disease,
- 42:33liver, yeah, diabetes, but and then in the country Mississippi
- 42:39hardcore hog, shitless everything but.
- 42:41You know, you know, it's funny you talk about that because
- 42:43after I got back in church about five years ago, man, and, and
- 42:47you look at, you know, you the, the work is in the soul.
- 42:51The work is in the mind, the will and emotions, right?
- 42:54And I started thinking about that.
- 42:56They say, Oh, we, we had soul food back in the day, right.
- 43:00But when I, when I, when I filter that soul food through
- 43:03the biblical context, it's like that ain't that ain't good then.
- 43:07Well, no wonder we got cholesterol and diabetes because
- 43:09you talk about if you feed the soul, the soul is not that's not
- 43:13good for the soul. No wonder.
- 43:15It's like it just, it just kind of made sense to me that way.
- 43:18It was like, wow. Yeah, it makes no sense at all.
- 43:21It makes no sense at all because I call it I think soul food was
- 43:25was was with death food back in. The in the.
- 43:29Day exactly. A pig's butt.
- 43:33You try that soul food. No, man.
- 43:35We call it gutter. That's that's trench.
- 43:37That's trench food. But but here we are today trying
- 43:42to break that, that habit, you know, break those habits because
- 43:46that's what's been passed down to us for holiday meals and
- 43:49Thanksgiving and all these. That's true.
- 43:51That's true. Now you say the way the quality
- 43:53of food is, but before we go, right before your military
- 43:57experience, you was just athlete.
- 44:00Yes. So where do you equate your
- 44:04mental toughness from? Was it from the environment or
- 44:07from the sports or? Well, the environment where I
- 44:10grew up at and also the, the, the military after that, after
- 44:15that, the small stitch I had for the injury made me realize that
- 44:18you can be whatever you want to be when you want to be.
- 44:21So, you know, I think a lot of times these people who complain
- 44:25about this complain about that, you know, and I just say bring
- 44:29back the draft. You get to the young people who
- 44:31want to fight so much. Put your little butt, put a put
- 44:34a put a AR15 or something of your hand at your F16 that you
- 44:37do what you want to do and see how you have yourself when
- 44:40you're shooting a gun like this running.
- 44:44In the movies, in the movie style.
- 44:46Movie style, it's not real. It's not real I said guys all
- 44:49you're getting shot by a real enemy who wants to kill you.
- 44:52You make you make your whole soul changes.
- 44:55And that's why I tell people my because my my fiance over here,
- 45:00she's over there because I love you.
- 45:02She's a a Barber bought short trade 18 years, but a truck
- 45:07driver almost well, Barber 20 years and then a truck driver
- 45:101855 foot nothing but thinks he's 6/1.
- 45:14And she's my mental toughness because what she went through
- 45:18her her chain of command got her hosted early because she just
- 45:22said she couldn't take the military commander authority.
- 45:25And sometimes people just tell you you can't be barking at me
- 45:27like you lost your mind. And that's how I felt.
- 45:30You know, I'm like, man, who do you think you're talking?
- 45:32Boy? I don't have me that thought
- 45:34about her, my uncle said. Boy, if you give up, we're not
- 45:36going to ever talk to you again. Oh my goodness.
- 45:39In the back of my mind and I ended up injured and hurt and
- 45:42got discharged and I was hurt. Just couldn't do it at the flat
- 45:45feet. She said it.
- 45:46I snuck by him because my grandmother rested so made me
- 45:50walk on rocks all the time. I walked through these rocks,
- 45:54which it was making my Archie do everything.
- 45:56So doctor, he said, you think you run these?
- 45:58I was I was doing it. You know the boot camp, and it's
- 46:01like, do you? And that's that Blackfoot
- 46:03Indian, that tough one. You gave up.
- 46:06But but now I'm the biggest wussy in the world.
- 46:08I I get it, my nail hang. Now I'm about to pass out.
- 46:13You know what I'm like? I couldn't do it no more.
- 46:15But my mother was my was my Roadrunner.
- 46:18Yeah, no doubt. A a beast my mom was like she
- 46:21will fight anybody anytime. Well I found out my great great
- 46:25great granddad was a sole partner of Nat Turner that bears
- 46:31against slavery. Her, her grandfather, her
- 46:34grandfather and my great, great, great grandfather was Nat Turner
- 46:37sidekick pretty much. He said if you die, we all going
- 46:41to die. He, he, he didn't take it.
- 46:43Nothing from the nothing from the, nothing from the, from the,
- 46:46the white man. And they, they just felt if you
- 46:48going to hang me, I'm going to hang you.
- 46:50All that good stuff. So everything is good and it was
- 46:53great. So God's been good when it comes
- 46:55to that, that, that stuff I was dealing with going through that.
- 46:59So the mindset of being military and making me say, OK, like
- 47:03injured, I had to leave. I said I have to do something
- 47:05now. It was so hard transition back.
- 47:08Let's, let's, let's talk about that because it's, it's one of
- 47:12the things that that I've learned in, in, in this journey
- 47:15of healing in my own. Like I said, I don't talk about
- 47:18nothing that I haven't experienced is one of the most
- 47:21important things you ask any veteran.
- 47:24It's the camaraderie. That's, that's what we miss the
- 47:28most. We don't, I don't miss the B yet
- 47:29I still miss it today. I don't miss the BS that came
- 47:32with it. You miss the, the friendship
- 47:35that that guy would or that girl would die for you or we would
- 47:38die for you. Like so in that military
- 47:41conversation that for some, that brain clicks over from a
- 47:46civilian to the military. And then what I learned is, is
- 47:52even in social issues today, it applies that we, we were trained
- 47:56to objectify another human being as an object and then kill that
- 48:01object. As you mentioned, your family
- 48:03were part of these World War One and World War twos in Vietnam,
- 48:06that we were trained to objectify another human being.
- 48:09But it happens today with black and white issues.
- 48:13It happens with police officers. I'm a suspect before I'm a
- 48:16person. You a Clippers fan?
- 48:19I'm a Laker fan or whatever. Then I'll.
- 48:21Give you you because you got on the jersey of another team that
- 48:23I don't even own the team, but I'm like, yeah, you don't.
- 48:27Realize how how I'm a I'm Yeah, I'm a Laker fan.
- 48:30You're a Clippers fan. You swinging at each other.
- 48:33I'm going to shoot you in territory that you don't own the
- 48:34street corner. I said you don't own that land.
- 48:37Why? You say blood and go.
- 48:38What are you people? My step?
- 48:41And that's what it was in the military.
- 48:42You start having gangs in the military, who's having gangs in
- 48:46the police force? Yeah, everything.
- 48:49So I got out. I said what I'm going to do.
- 48:51I I got myself ready to go. I said I'm going to get back
- 48:54into playing baseball. And I've been young and got back
- 48:56out. I said we'll try to play
- 48:57baseball again. And I, I met up with Darrell
- 49:00Strawberry with Mississippi on the Jackson Mets farm team for
- 49:06the New York Mets in Mississippi.
- 49:08And I go to the game in the center field.
- 49:10I said Dee straw. So I said I said Dee straw.
- 49:13He says who about Dee straw? All people knew I Dee straw
- 49:16people in the hood. He knew he came from here.
- 49:18I saw LA were born and raised in LA, but I mean Mississippi boy,
- 49:21you know, we're out here. But my mom and dad made me come
- 49:24out here. He said, man, and he pissed to
- 49:26give me my freshman year. He's a senior in high school.
- 49:30What see he's I think Gerald 61 now I'm 58.
- 49:34He's a senior and I was only person got hit off of him.
- 49:37He pitched over 2 hitter and one person went on another run and I
- 49:40got the only hit off him, no hitter, 2 hitter.
- 49:43So he just said, man, if you want to become the best to what
- 49:47you have to do, he said your mental toughness and he said
- 49:51pitch yourself in the military and you're in a trench hole and
- 49:55gun gunfire. All you got is your gun left and
- 49:57you got a clip, maybe 3 bullets left on the clip.
- 50:00You got one clip left, but you got you got 40 soldiers and you
- 50:07got to figure out either get help or a tie ticket man, you
- 50:11cannot afford your for your before your demise.
- 50:14No dying, no dying. So, so you have to think about
- 50:18choices and like, like my boys say, there's two things we have
- 50:21in life, a chance and a choice. And every time we're in the
- 50:25morning, you have a chance to do something different.
- 50:28And the choice is what you make of when you're out in the
- 50:30streets. When I tell my son, hop in that
- 50:32car to got the ignition wire hanging out and that's your
- 50:35choice you're going to make and then the chance we'll get.
- 50:40You know. That's what.
- 50:41It is We're not different in this.
- 50:42I'm 50, I'm about to be 55 S Our age range is about the same
- 50:46mindset of if you know your license is suspended and you're
- 50:50going to try to make a run to the store, you taking the chance
- 50:54you know your tags is expired. Look.
- 50:58Look, and not by three or four months, we're talking 2-3 years,
- 51:01probably having tags be expired, 3-4 years to try to run to
- 51:04Mexico with it trying to run to Mexico, and then you get mad or
- 51:10you get pulled over. You want to challenge the police
- 51:13officer, which is not your color.
- 51:15Come on, man. All he all he on his job.
- 51:17And then when you get in this gunfight, boom.
- 51:20You know how many times I've been hassled?
- 51:22I'm going to tell you why I'm running for City Council in the
- 51:23next segment while I'm running. But the reason why I'm running
- 51:26because of what the sheriff did to me.
- 51:28But it took me a while to understand what I really wanted
- 51:31to do. Yeah.
- 51:32Hold on, hold on with the with the baseball segment on my
- 51:35sports show. Oh yeah, the sports show that.
- 51:37That baseball segment is is is is gloves for days is my.
- 51:41Segment for baseball. So what was your gloves for
- 51:44days? What?
- 51:44Happened. Oh, oh, oh, I had AI, had AI,
- 51:46had AI, had a cannon man, I had a cannon.
- 51:49LSU can't call him my my senior year in high school without all
- 51:53white team one brother, the chocolate chip man was me.
- 51:56Yeah. White folks didn't like that
- 51:58when I made the team. Yeah they they burned across my
- 52:01yard at age of 17 my senior year in high school.
- 52:04My mother who led the fight all was apron a a frying pan and a
- 52:09rolling pan. She would carry that every she
- 52:12got said well what are you going to do with the rolling pan The
- 52:15skillet out is dead. You go to high grease and then
- 52:17walk around just put on people. But when she felt like they
- 52:19burned across next to my butane tank in the South for me, making
- 52:23a tank and go home *** on the side of my, my, my house because
- 52:28I was giving it. I was 17.
- 52:29I had to pay it off when I was 18.
- 52:31I was 19. I paid the house all the 10,000
- 52:33they gave me and they burned and I said, now you burned it.
- 52:36So what I'm going to do So I get my sixfold Chevrolet pickup
- 52:39truck, grab my 12 gauge Mossberg shotgun.
- 52:42I go to the Playhouse, shot their tires up their cars and
- 52:44windows on the back. Oh.
- 52:45My. Goodness.
- 52:46So I come back home and of course you're you're a good old
- 52:48boy. Sheriff department.
- 52:50They get there and my dad's there.
- 52:52He do what I did. He can give me a gun and he
- 52:55takes it and put it in a towel and Sheriff Newman pulls up.
- 52:58This is Sheriff Newman Junior. His dad was a good old boy sheet
- 53:03man sheriff before he passed and his son took over.
- 53:06So him him, him and my dad went to school together.
- 53:09Now at this time, my grandfather was still alive and very
- 53:12powerful. He's amazing and very powerful.
- 53:14Mississippi. And when my grandfather come by
- 53:17to visit, he got a car. He walked real slow over there,
- 53:19this little cane. He said, boy Newman, how you
- 53:22doing? He said, doing good, Lee Adam.
- 53:23He said, what you want to do with my grandson?
- 53:26He said your grandson went down and just dropped a cover.
- 53:28He shot up some car. He said, I'm sure he had a good
- 53:31reason. And he turned and looked at me
- 53:33with his hand under the cane and I'm waiting for your reason,
- 53:35grandson. I said, look, they get to my
- 53:37house, Grandpa. He said, oh, so now my son's a
- 53:41*** and you want to come and arrest him?
- 53:43He said won't be don't won't would not be arrested this day
- 53:47in my in my grandson's friend and that sheriff said I I
- 53:52understand Lee, Mr. Adams, I'm going to leave y'all alone.
- 53:55Let y'all talk about talk about what won't I be the rest in this
- 53:58family? None this week or next week and
- 54:00week after that. Oh wow.
- 54:02And that went to jail for never got a record for it.
- 54:04Nothing. Mississippi, huh?
- 54:06That's how I do my graph. I was a powerful man Mason.
- 54:08He killed a man in 19 and got off the all white jury by seeing
- 54:12the ring and the judge been to Macy.
- 54:14He saw this man give me no crying.
- 54:15Y'all didn't see nothing. People have got what people he
- 54:19said. The look on their face and they
- 54:20said you got to see nothing. And my grandfather walked and
- 54:24then what he did, it went in hard logs.
- 54:26They had mules back in the day. He pulls a log up to a tree to
- 54:29turn to a petrified rock and he sold it to the museum for 100
- 54:33grand back in 1920. And then he really invests all
- 54:36the money in the business museum.
- 54:38Come. On yeah, we have a, we have a
- 54:40street near, that's Mississippi, a street near our bank too.
- 54:43So I, I appreciate you saying that because for, for many of us
- 54:50don't have the opportunity to sit with our grandparents or our
- 54:55great grandparents to find out what was life going on.
- 54:58Back in a. Day back in a day, right And and
- 55:02again, it's so important because now that we have this whole this
- 55:05whole racial conversation in black and white, but people
- 55:08forget that the white the white skin people who came to this
- 55:12country as second class citizens fleeing from their country for
- 55:16an opportunity in the United States.
- 55:18They didn't get along with each other either.
- 55:20And today they still don't really, even though they're UN
- 55:23hyphenated and they can check the white box, but they still
- 55:27don't get along. And So what you point to for me
- 55:30is, is this next piece of this whole inclusion and exclusion
- 55:34and this whole diversity and inclusion stuff.
- 55:36And it's like for me, it's, it's not just what you do for me as
- 55:41an inclusion or exclusion, it's I also have to experience that
- 55:45for myself to be included. Yeah, so you can.
- 55:48Open up all these doors for me and do this all this affirmative
- 55:50action and give me opportunities.
- 55:52But if I don't have the mindset or the mental toughness to walk
- 55:56through that door to see if I even want to do it or my
- 55:59environment has taught me you can't do that.
- 56:01We got you got to get a job at McDonald's, man, because we got
- 56:03to pay these bills. You got to get a job at the
- 56:04store. Like you can't be no, you can't
- 56:07be no scientists. You can't do that.
- 56:09You can't. No, you got to go get.
- 56:10This can't become a hidden pioneer like my boy, right?
- 56:14Exactly. You know, Rodney is my campaign
- 56:19manager shot my boy Rodney, He might be watching.
- 56:22And you know Rodney, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 56:27So you know what's really going to happen in this world?
- 56:30I know what my initiative is running for City Council.
- 56:33What the what the biggest, Tucker?
- 56:34We're going to be running 2028, running all this Olympic stuff
- 56:37coming up. It's going to be a war zone.
- 56:40So people say, are you prepared for that?
- 56:42Let me tell you how I'm prepared for that.
- 56:43I'm like, I'm like 10 speeding brown shoes TV show.
- 56:47I'm like, I'm a man called Hawk Spencer Fire.
- 56:49Not remember the man called Hawk.
- 56:53I'm a ball hit about a big guy. Anybody gonna try to try to
- 56:56attack me and my team on my mother podium, I would say would
- 56:58try. I'm going to be the first you do
- 57:00a city company going to come that can shoot back.
- 57:03So don't don't get it twisted. You'll see me on TV saying
- 57:05Dionne, you can the 1st man in history, the night of the
- 57:08brother on the owner, on a podium, on the podium you don't.
- 57:11Want that? Yeah.
- 57:13You don't get mad at you. Don't have bodyguards?
- 57:15Around you, you're not going to have people get mad at me
- 57:17because I'm telling you the truth of how your cities ran.
- 57:20In my district, District 8 is a war zone.
- 57:23You have mental health. Where now?
- 57:25Where are people who don't know where is District 8?
- 57:27Located it's it's in Crenshaw Square or Merck Park.
- 57:31Oh my. Goodness.
- 57:33Yeah, all with the all with the Coliseum met all the way down
- 57:36there of the Broadway war zone areas and Broadway and 36 all
- 57:41the way down there. So people say, well, how do you
- 57:43stop the crime? You can't.
- 57:44You could never promise somebody you'll stop no crime.
- 57:46Not about, yeah. I don't know why people be
- 57:48saying that you know not about this.
- 57:50The mental mentality, the people on the street, they have mental
- 57:53problems and you keep building these 400 unit apartments with
- 57:56no mental health facilities, nowhere inside.
- 57:58Nothing. No support.
- 57:59No, those support no support. That's that's what another
- 58:02segment. It'll be fun right there you
- 58:05know, and I got some accolades and and the misses the wife, the
- 58:08future wife of the be got a program that we going to end up
- 58:11collabing with my whole team and and looking for the $55 million
- 58:16measurement to do this this whole sacrifice, you know, and
- 58:20despair and poverty all kinds of stuff.
- 58:24So we're going to do something that's going to be so Immaculate
- 58:26that have the housing teaching them to bring back all auto
- 58:29shops banking tech for AII teach you how to do all this because
- 58:34without tech, these kids can't survive.
- 58:36I say what you going to school for to be a veterinarian for you
- 58:39want to go ahead. They're going to have robots.
- 58:41You're going. To have to be able to work on
- 58:44the robot dogs. Exactly.
- 58:46So get a tech, you know, go to school with tech and get a get a
- 58:49real certification trade and don't worry about college due to
- 58:52the hardcore stuff. You need nurses no matter what.
- 58:56But yes, I tell the young girls, don't run the streets and be
- 58:59your big your big boyfriend is a PlayStation two or your or your
- 59:03iPhone 16. What's called 1122 to $100.
- 59:07But you but you can't afford to get get your teeth done exactly,
- 59:11you know. It's it's why would you say
- 59:13that? Because when I look at the
- 59:15Inland Empire where I'm located at and again, this goes back to
- 59:19I point to the inclusion and exclusion not we're not far from
- 59:23the same age. Imagine in the 70s when Compton
- 59:28was the way it was right. And this hood and the areas
- 59:32where you were talking about those families say, OK, well, we
- 59:36got to get out of here because it's I don't want my children to
- 59:39go through what this. Compton is almost 78% white
- 59:44people in Compton in the 60s. Now, my, my, my, my transition
- 59:48is you move from from Compton to San Bernardino, right where it's
- 59:55lower income and it's cheaper and affordable, but and then
- 1:00:00that gets full and infiltrated and they push them to Colton and
- 1:00:04Rialto, Moreno Valley, Clantana, Clantana, Fontana, you got
- 1:00:11Lancaster, Palmdale. My point is.
- 1:00:14The. We moved around these different
- 1:00:17locations to to create a better life for our families, but we
- 1:00:20never renew our mindset. We wonder why San Bernardino is
- 1:00:24such a detrimental place. Well, if you look at where we
- 1:00:28came from, we moved from Compton to San Bernardino.
- 1:00:31That changed location. But never renew your hearts.
- 1:00:34You know, Samuel got broke. The whole the whole city was
- 1:00:36broke for almost half a decade. Yeah, that needs the
- 1:00:43conversation that you're talking about.
- 1:00:44How do we how do we restore our hearts and.
- 1:00:47It's by listening to one another and bringing that our
- 1:00:50conceptual. And it ain't, it ain't.
- 1:00:52Even that hard, it ain't hard to do.
- 1:00:53And that's why I'm I'm happy for my my queen.
- 1:00:56Well, I call her my goddess now and she's all the all the man.
- 1:00:59I need the kiss because she's taught me how to understand the
- 1:01:04other reach of, of being a black woman in America and how black
- 1:01:09women are refuted as being a weak minded link when you got
- 1:01:12all the other ones trying to go out there and do things that
- 1:01:14they shouldn't do. But when it comes to us, we
- 1:01:17don't get enough credit as black Americans, which we, we are.
- 1:01:21We're not African American, we're black.
- 1:01:23Right. Exactly.
- 1:01:24So I try to teach our young kids, don't get it twisted,
- 1:01:28$25.00 an hour is better than no hour an hour.
- 1:01:32So I don't know which y'all complained about when you're
- 1:01:331890 years old, if you get home with Mama, stay your butt hole
- 1:01:37with mom and dad and raise it and, and and save your money.
- 1:01:39Exactly. Don't go buy a $2200 phone and
- 1:01:43you walk into work. I said that makes a lot of
- 1:01:46sense, don't it people? And I have nieces and, and, and,
- 1:01:49and like that nephews still they have to say and cousins, that
- 1:01:51same mindset. Yeah, instead of saving their
- 1:01:54money, we'll go, oh, I'm going to buy this $11100 jacket.
- 1:01:58But see, I, I, I'm 54, I got three daughters and three
- 1:02:01grandchildren, right? So I'm looking back now like
- 1:02:05man, I should have stayed home till at least I was 2526.
- 1:02:09Because the only thing is home freedom is.
- 1:02:12Independence is not freedom. And so but we think again, our
- 1:02:16minds are still developing as children, as young adults, and
- 1:02:19we think it knows what it is to be an adult.
- 1:02:21And I'm ready to go. And bro, I'm I'm 50.
- 1:02:23Like I should have stayed at least my 2530 year old.
- 1:02:28Better have talk about all time she 56 with two years apart.
- 1:02:31She said all time stay at home and you know 18 but I say that
- 1:02:35but she have a program for that to save that money and need kids
- 1:02:38be like are such at home because you can't afford a one bedroom.
- 1:02:42Yeah, yeah. Not today.
- 1:02:43It's not LA man. Today a boy called LA.
- 1:02:47He called it one. No, no, remember 1A day
- 1:02:49vitamins. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:51He called LA now. He said, oh, he said one a day,
- 1:02:54one I said, she called one a headache.
- 1:02:57He said, make a pill for one a headache.
- 1:02:59You take that pill, your headache and make all your
- 1:03:01dreams come true. I mean, you're back home with
- 1:03:02your mom and dad and save the money.
- 1:03:05Now, now on the other part of that conversation that I have
- 1:03:08with our with our young men and men is if you not, if you can't
- 1:03:13afford that woman, leave her where she at too.
- 1:03:17You can't afford that woman. Because we are supposed to be
- 1:03:20the provider. See the the world mixes the
- 1:03:23biblical conversations together and they get it all jacked up.
- 1:03:26We are as men. We are supposed to be the 100%
- 1:03:28provider and take care of her. She ain't.
- 1:03:30She ain't got to work unless she want to.
- 1:03:32Yeah, not the world today. But it's like I'm I got these
- 1:03:38nails are 6 inches long. I can't I can barely even comb
- 1:03:42my own head nails a lot. I watch this, I'm breaking the
- 1:03:44world coming to an end. And then you got the young boy.
- 1:03:47I got to get a Dodge Challenger or a Challenger of 18.
- 1:03:52And so but I'm going to take it and go and go do a street
- 1:03:54takeover and just burn my tires there because $1800 a tire I'm
- 1:03:58going to burn the middle St., the big circle who paid for that
- 1:04:01your. Mommy, we had, we had our
- 1:04:03version of that. It's just, it's just with
- 1:04:05technology and, and, and, and all this with the what the world
- 1:04:08offers now, It's just a higher level scale of what we did.
- 1:04:11We didn't have that much, but we did what we did still.
- 1:04:14And you understand why I'm looking at why President I call
- 1:04:18President Crump, President Crump is is is doing.
- 1:04:21He's doing now because he's trying to catch the the crooks
- 1:04:25by shutting down the feds right now.
- 1:04:26So I see what's really going on because that federal female
- 1:04:29ain't number the joke and they should be they taking money and
- 1:04:32doing they want to deal with it. And he just said I think I may
- 1:04:35have to close this thing down for a minute to see if he can
- 1:04:38catch the culprits to see why does money get to people.
- 1:04:40He promising you want to fix things.
- 1:04:42If I hire my own company to clean my yard up, I spend FEMA
- 1:04:47bill for 35,000 and I I don't get that money back.
- 1:04:51I just paid people to clean my yard up and I'm out $35,000 but
- 1:04:56I was promised 100%. I get that money back.
- 1:04:59So I can't make promises to people in the district 8.
- 1:05:02If y'all hear me out there in my district, I'm not making y'all
- 1:05:04problems I can't keep right. I'm I'm going to do my do my
- 1:05:08best to my ability to make change in that district.
- 1:05:12And, and sometimes, you know, we, we teach from changes and
- 1:05:18sometimes challenging for people.
- 1:05:19Maybe we could just alter the conversation just a little bit,
- 1:05:24change the perspective just a little bit.
- 1:05:26Yep, you know, and, and so I appreciate you.
- 1:05:29I'm, I'm going to ask you this because I, I, I thought about
- 1:05:33like, do I have the courage to run for office?
- 1:05:36Because you know, they, they'll pull up your past.
- 1:05:39I'm just saying they'll, they, they'll, they'll put up an old
- 1:05:41tweet, they'll put up old Facebook posts on you and be
- 1:05:43like, hey. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:45You, you good with? You good with.
- 1:05:47I'm. I'm going to pull up.
- 1:05:48I'm going to pull up all the wonderful things about me, if
- 1:05:52you want to know. Yes.
- 1:05:53I've been accused of molesting people.
- 1:05:55I've been accused of sexual assaulting people.
- 1:05:57But you can't prove nothing. I don't want you.
- 1:06:00But people throw them stones. Watch out people, throw them
- 1:06:02stones. Right, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:06:05They throw on the phone they. Have a level of confidence to be
- 1:06:08you got to be OK to have to be and not have that stuff trigger
- 1:06:11you. Yeah, you'll bother me.
- 1:06:13I said whatever I know. I know how people who get
- 1:06:15jealous of me, I have a more family member jealous of me.
- 1:06:17I got a friend jealous of me. I have a close friend jealous of
- 1:06:20me and I never done to them. I said OK, it's OK to be jealous
- 1:06:24of me, but I still love you. By the way, I got you.
- 1:06:27If something happened to my my nieces and nephew, I still got
- 1:06:30that. But either they do weird stuff I
- 1:06:33laugh about, still got it no matter what.
- 1:06:35Yeah, I think about that because as, as you see in history,
- 1:06:39they've they've they kill off our leaders, our black leaders,
- 1:06:42right, every time. And I sit here and I'm like, are
- 1:06:46we even ready for another black leader like that?
- 1:06:48Because we we talk about ourselves like a.
- 1:06:52The third party? The third party, right?
- 1:06:55And so who, who, who has the confidence and courage to step
- 1:06:57and be like, OK, I'm ready to take on this social justice
- 1:07:00issue. The dream is there.
- 1:07:02Now what's what's the next phase of this?
- 1:07:04What? What, what, what, what DIDAD
- 1:07:07what D i.e. that, that all the stuff, that equal thing and OK,
- 1:07:13whatever you want to call it, some, I call it dirt dummy or
- 1:07:15whatever. But affirmative action to me,
- 1:07:19I've never been through affirmative action because you
- 1:07:21know what? Every job I got, I got it
- 1:07:23because of my skill set. Everything I've ever got because
- 1:07:27I'm I'm a hell of a security expert.
- 1:07:29I'm a hell of a four and half years on federal agent for
- 1:07:34Homeland 1/3 assessment analyst and people don't realize no one
- 1:07:39of my family even knew where I was at.
- 1:07:40I didn't I I was just wanted to tell anybody my job was to
- 1:07:44threat assessment and to assess any threat that school shooting,
- 1:07:47any active shooter and they have a higher team to go and
- 1:07:49investigate. You know, now one person, LALA
- 1:07:52Unified wanted to talk to me about how to subside the threat
- 1:07:56assessment of school shootings. They don't want to talk to the
- 1:07:59school Lieutenant Alberto Dodo, I'll call him Alberto Dodo.
- 1:08:01They don't want to speak to me. I had a two other page inquiry
- 1:08:05back in 20/22. He didn't want to talk to me.
- 1:08:11He's an immigrant. Yes.
- 1:08:13So you ever get me 433? 1000 a year, that's what I'm.
- 1:08:18Saying, but you're laying off principals, teachers.
- 1:08:21Thank you. I think the England school
- 1:08:24district been suffering for 1314 years.
- 1:08:28And I think vets should have paid more.
- 1:08:29No more taxes or teachers. Man, we, we want to, we want to
- 1:08:33go to, we want the education that we have.
- 1:08:35We're ready to demonstrate that we can transform that
- 1:08:38environment. Oh yeah, So we're going to next
- 1:08:42last second. I'm going to tell you, I'm going
- 1:08:44to shout out to all people involved in my campaign and what
- 1:08:46we're going to do for the city of Los Angeles, District 8.
- 1:08:49Well, let's take this, let's take this identification break
- 1:08:52and come back because we got a few more minutes.
- 1:08:53We got about 22 minutes left. So I want you to make sure you
- 1:08:55cover that. This is Trench Talk Edition US

- 1:09:10Some of us still carry the burden of battle.
- 1:09:13It threatens to drown us in our everyday lives.
- 1:09:16In battle, we had our weapons and combat gear to keep us safe,
- 1:09:20to keep us confident. But when we returned home, we
- 1:09:24were not armed with weapons and gear to cope with our own minds.
- 1:09:28I was lucky to find my combat gear, my mental weapon and it's
- 1:09:32called come ago. Komago is a drug free device

- 1:10:31Did you see the shot? I lost money from that shot.
- 1:10:34Oh man, that shot was. Old man, but it was good.
- 1:10:35Yeah. What's the note?
- 1:10:45You really want to know. I do.
- 1:10:51Exhaustion, muscle spasm, asthmatic issues are.
- 1:10:58You serious? When I was young, I found out I
- 1:11:00had sickle cell trait. My mom's told me but I didn't
- 1:11:03have no knowledge of it. But when I got older, I had a
- 1:11:05child and the doctor told me my daughter had sickle cell trait.
- 1:11:08You know, the fact that both parents have sickle cell trait,
- 1:11:11there's a 50% chance the child may have the trait and 25%
- 1:11:15chance the child may have the disease.
- 1:11:17Man, that's what's the count. Do you know that 2.5 million
- 1:11:19people in the United States have sickle cell trait?
- 1:11:21300 million people globally. I didn't find out I had sickle
- 1:11:24cell trait until I was in the Army 10 years.
- 1:11:26Make sure you know I had a sickle cell trait exertion site.
- 1:11:30I thought that was a black gene or something.
- 1:11:32Nah man, the black community is number 21 out of 36,000 babies
- 1:11:36are being born with sickle cell disease.
- 1:11:38You could be a Caucasian, Mediterranean, European.
- 1:11:40You got to read a bloodline, man.
- 1:11:45There is an inherited gene in our community that has been
- 1:11:47forgotten. The name is sickle cell trade.

- 1:14:29Make sure you catch the Revolution radio show on GH3
- 1:14:32Gods out the hip hop powered by lit live used to be dash radio.
- 1:14:36I recorded that episode yesterday and they will air
- 1:14:41Saturday at 7:00 PM and again Sunday at 5:00 PM.
- 1:14:45That is the revolution radio show.
- 1:14:47Shouts out to one way TK He's hanging out with me on that clip
- 1:14:50you saw. That was my previous Co host, J
- 1:14:53Love and Lillian. They're on break right now.
- 1:14:56So I'm holding it down with one way TK.
- 1:14:58We've had some great interviews with some Christian hip hop
- 1:15:00artists sharing their journeys, sharing their experiences before
- 1:15:04they came to Christ, what was going on in life as well.
- 1:15:06So and we play some of the hottest chapter eights now.
- 1:15:10It took me a while because back in my growing up days, Christian
- 1:15:13hip hop was corny. Today is not corny.
- 1:15:16I'm telling you today you heard that track in the background.
- 1:15:19It is not corny today. And, and by being the host on
- 1:15:22that and pulling the music for our talk show, you know, my
- 1:15:27heart got softened and I started listening to some of that music
- 1:15:30and I'm like, this is actually pretty good.
- 1:15:31And it's got the word in it. So Christian hip hop, you know,
- 1:15:36and, and, and plus now having to heal my heart from a lot of
- 1:15:40these, you know, listen to a song, It'll take you back.
- 1:15:43Your childhood takes you back to all those moments, good, bad or
- 1:15:46indifferent. But now to be able to fill my
- 1:15:48heart with some spirituality, with some Christian, with some,
- 1:15:52some word, it's balancing out. And sometimes you got to, you
- 1:15:56don't change. You just got to fill it up with
- 1:15:58a new program. And so for me, that Holy Spirit
- 1:16:00and that biblical context is a whole nother program that I had
- 1:16:03to learn for myself. You know, my parents, my
- 1:16:06grandparents, being in church all those years, they did what
- 1:16:10they could do. They planted those seeds, but at
- 1:16:12some point it was up to me to find God for myself.
- 1:16:15And so when I had to do that and and not really had to, but I
- 1:16:19desired to, I've had a great time in my walk, very great time
- 1:16:24in my walk. And it's not about talking about
- 1:16:26the word. Those scriptures are for you
- 1:16:28first. You got to get that word for you
- 1:16:31first and then your life will be an example of that.
- 1:16:34And then there's a get if there's a moment that you can
- 1:16:36share a word with somebody, then you can meet that person with
- 1:16:39that word. But for for me, what I'm
- 1:16:41learning is that word is for me first and then I got to apply it
- 1:16:45to my life. You need they say it's
- 1:16:47comprehensive, It's knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
- 1:16:50That's like what you hear growing up.
- 1:16:53I learned at 54. It is knowledge, understanding,
- 1:16:58comprehension, revelation, wisdom, and then you apply all
- 1:17:03that to your life, right? And so if you're interested in
- 1:17:06that, it is on lit Live GH3 Gods like a positive channel, and you
- 1:17:11can catch me over there on Saturdays and Sundays.
- 1:17:16All right, you ready? Yes, Sir.
- 1:17:19All right, so I'm, I'm, I'm just amazed that after knowing you
- 1:17:28these years and like I said, for me, the confidence or the
- 1:17:32courage to go in that political system like I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm
- 1:17:41glad to hear that you are actually taking that on,
- 1:17:43especially in that area. I know that I used to be on
- 1:17:45Morris Media Studios. Right there.
- 1:17:47Right off the right, across from McDonald's.
- 1:17:49Yes, yes, I used to be. For a couple of years after LA
- 1:17:54Live shut down. Yeah, over the station right
- 1:17:56there. So I'm familiar.
- 1:17:58Grew up off of of of Adams and Jefferson between.
- 1:18:02OK, I. Know that area real well so.
- 1:18:04It's it's a what's a war zone? Yeah.
- 1:18:07So today, what do you want to say about that?
- 1:18:09Before we get out of there, well, you know what, first of
- 1:18:11all, I want to give the biggest shout outs.
- 1:18:13I was about to my God Lord savior.
- 1:18:15That's the reason why I'm still here and and and and God give me
- 1:18:18the opportunity to run and quick story how I started St. takeover
- 1:18:23one night coming home from the missus took over off Imperial
- 1:18:29and western by the southwest college and I get I bag my car
- 1:18:34up and they they follow me to 6 units.
- 1:18:37They put 6 shotguns on me. The sheriff did they surround my
- 1:18:41car. They thought I was involved in a
- 1:18:44street takeover. Two kids went ahead in
- 1:18:46trafficking in a challenger and ran down the hill at the
- 1:18:49college. The high I'm backing up the car.
- 1:18:52They figure, well, what am I doing in Prius?
- 1:18:55I'm I'm I'm going to do the 360 turn.
- 1:18:58So it's when they got I have a gun in the car and the license
- 1:19:03and they, they. Lost their mind.
- 1:19:05The black dude. The black dude of all people,
- 1:19:08their brother. He acted more way out than the
- 1:19:12white cops did. Sure did.
- 1:19:14He called me Crenshaw Mafia. *** you want a Nipsey Hussle mom?
- 1:19:17Oh. No, he didn't.
- 1:19:18I said, did you just call me in front of the clear people?
- 1:19:21No, I got to help with calling people with a good old boy
- 1:19:23clear. I called people who were racist
- 1:19:26to me and clear people. And I mean white, white, black,
- 1:19:29Asian. So I see you going to call me,
- 1:19:32you know, And a white dude, like he thought it was funny.
- 1:19:34He started laughing. Clear people.
- 1:19:36Yeah, clear people. And the brother is showing out.
- 1:19:39I said, I guess you want to show out, you know, And I said go
- 1:19:41ahead and show out for the people.
- 1:19:44And he did. And I said, OK, I guess I'm a
- 1:19:49this guy gets you kind of embarrassed.
- 1:19:51I couldn't catch him on one car. I call it one car.
- 1:19:54All these sheriffs is right down the street next door to the
- 1:19:57southwest the the sheriff department is and y'all couldn't
- 1:20:00catch none of these cars during the circles in in in imperial.
- 1:20:03So I'm trying to put rules in place if they catch your kids.
- 1:20:07St. Tech with a mother and father
- 1:20:08responsible to kids at home for any damage to our our public
- 1:20:12properties in the schools, on the streets.
- 1:20:14They got to get that bill from the city of his 10 racks.
- 1:20:16Your parents will have to pay for the restitution or somebody
- 1:20:19going to jail. That's the law I want to put in
- 1:20:21place. If I come and run for no
- 1:20:24Councilman in that district, you're not going to do that on
- 1:20:26on my diet. You're not going to do that on
- 1:20:28my diet and whoever. I think it's Holly Mitchell's
- 1:20:31Harry over there. Her.
- 1:20:32I think it her. Yeah.
- 1:20:33So good luck. Yeah.
- 1:20:34She was about. You want to let your people do
- 1:20:36that stuff, make the parents pay for it.
- 1:20:39Make the parents say OK, my son Johnny's in the bed.
- 1:20:41No, Johnny's at 711, Raid 711. So that's why I say I need to
- 1:20:47run and and and shout out to my boy.
- 1:20:49I'm going to give me a shout out.
- 1:20:50Marquis Harris Dawson, who's the the current District 8.
- 1:20:57I'm not going to say leave bad brother, brother, but I don't
- 1:20:59think you do a left foot 8. This is last three-year of a
- 1:21:03four year term. This is last third term.
- 1:21:06He's terming out in 28. That's it for him.
- 1:21:08And for some reason I I think he's all if he's scared to come
- 1:21:11to hood, but he probably was my sister's stuff when she had her
- 1:21:15nonprofit for foster care never showed up.
- 1:21:17None of the photos, no kind of clean up for the for the alley
- 1:21:21clean up. She was trying to do never.
- 1:21:24So I actually, so one day I went to a a a a she got a city thing
- 1:21:28in front of the front of the for the city.
- 1:21:30She got her her recommendation from the city.
- 1:21:33He didn't show up for that to give it to her.
- 1:21:36So I'm wondering why I know for a fact I can't be a City
- 1:21:40Councilman like that. And now you're the president of
- 1:21:42the City Council. You're running that too.
- 1:21:44So how can you call yourself a City Councilman?
- 1:21:48And you're not even trying to show the people you're not?
- 1:21:50He wasn't even from the hood. He wasn't even born Ellen.
- 1:21:51He was born at the San Gabriel. Son of a preacher.
- 1:21:54I don't like to be the son of a preacher.
- 1:21:56Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:21:56No, no, no, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's for me again.
- 1:22:02How you want to clean that up, right?
- 1:22:03Yeah, How you going to clean it up?
- 1:22:06Is is is the people got to get them something back, got to show
- 1:22:11them we have initiatives in District 8.
- 1:22:13So the ideal, this big idea was with my fiance getting with was
- 1:22:18sacrifice, poverty and despair Academy when the academy's going
- 1:22:22to be maintained, the kids will have to maintain a three-point
- 1:22:26grade point average or to get this Academy and we'll have
- 1:22:29funding like scholarships, grant scholarships.
- 1:22:32Hopefully the president understands some of these
- 1:22:34scholarships are needed for some of these schools are private
- 1:22:37Academy. Everybody won't be able to go to
- 1:22:38this Academy. It's the kids who who never had
- 1:22:40a chance to go to UCLAUSC can come to this Academy and learn
- 1:22:44auto mechanics, home tech, you know, you know, auto mechanics,
- 1:22:49home tech, cooking, AI technology.
- 1:22:55But we also have living there maybe 100 units on the property
- 1:23:00that people will be able to go to mental health facilities to
- 1:23:03learn how who they are or how they lost along the way to her
- 1:23:06being a veteran. And this is about 55,000,000.
- 1:23:10But guess what, Some people who love me so much but wouldn't
- 1:23:13give me the money. For it. 55,000,000 Because I'm
- 1:23:16going to put it right, we're going to find land and and I
- 1:23:19could collaborate with another. No Councilman, a certain
- 1:23:21district. I can do that and make something
- 1:23:24happen because why? Why not?
- 1:23:25Why, Why? Why didn't you work together?
- 1:23:28Yeah, work together so that we can make sure these people
- 1:23:30understand they, they own the streets.
- 1:23:32That's what I found out. People's homeless on the
- 1:23:34streets. They mindset it's like no one
- 1:23:37cared we can tuned out no one cares about me.
- 1:23:40Yes, and what 41% of my think on the street you have consensus
- 1:23:44again are veterans on the street and a large population.
- 1:23:49So you ask them, well, why are vets on the street?
- 1:23:51We get all this housing for no, you don't have it all the
- 1:23:53housing for them. You do not have a lot of housing
- 1:23:56for what you have is Section 8 capability.
- 1:24:00That's the one Section 8 capability you get.
- 1:24:02They're getting their funds for you guys are people.
- 1:24:05But then you guys want to cut all the defense spending Donald
- 1:24:08Trump want he wanted to boost the the the defense.
- 1:24:11Donald Trump said get them soldiers that money.
- 1:24:13We can keep our borders clear. And when when the Democrat side
- 1:24:16and say we're not going to get that money to them, get what
- 1:24:18happened, open it wide open, Everybody comes in.
- 1:24:21Everybody coming in his SO. His words are are deadly, he
- 1:24:25said. God has blessed him, but now
- 1:24:26they talk about, well, he didn't put his hand in the Bible when
- 1:24:28he got sworn in. You know what it's.
- 1:24:30Just. It's just.
- 1:24:31So funny you say that because every president back in the day,
- 1:24:35we didn't have a camera angle that we have now.
- 1:24:37Camera angles, right? You know, how do we know Kenny
- 1:24:39put his hand in the Bible? How do you know how do?
- 1:24:41You put his hand about Obama. Exactly.
- 1:24:44You don't. You don't.
- 1:24:45You don't know so y'all? Y'all actually put a camera
- 1:24:49underneath that man clothing with private parts here to see
- 1:24:52if he was putting his hand in the Bible?
- 1:24:53What sick person would think when they get that?
- 1:24:56So you'd ask yourself, That's crazy to me.
- 1:24:58When when you said that when one of the ways to fix it is to is
- 1:25:02to have the parents. Yeah, part of that.
- 1:25:07Consequences because here's here's that parent.
- 1:25:09We had a couple of parents growing up.
- 1:25:11Oh, my kids never do that, but we had to.
- 1:25:13They was the worst drug dealers in the whole entire St.
- 1:25:16These three boys was am I going to say their name because we
- 1:25:19real good friends. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 1:25:21Yeah. And they Mama was always like,
- 1:25:24my boys never do that. But your boys had a drug house.
- 1:25:27But my house, Pomona, you're saying if you ever see this
- 1:25:32show, he knows exactly what we're talking about.
- 1:25:35I came back from Mississippi just to fight him because we
- 1:25:37lost our home, only owing four more mortgage payments to the to
- 1:25:42the raid. I got a.
- 1:25:44RAID. From a raid they have taken our
- 1:25:47home. My mother only owned six my.
- 1:25:50Dad. Owned the house and so he took
- 1:25:54the house. He said well I'll pay it off for
- 1:25:56it without I I want to have my cousin move in.
- 1:25:58He turned me to a drug lab house.
- 1:26:01That's not. Cool, so when I found out I go
- 1:26:04back, I come back to California to fight him.
- 1:26:06We going to fight knife fight. We going to have totaled up.
- 1:26:09I I got cut right here. He got diced up pretty bad.
- 1:26:13I mean he sort of marks now. I I let him live that I wanted
- 1:26:17you to live with pain. You, you thought you lived
- 1:26:20because I didn't want you to live.
- 1:26:21I was highly trained. I want you to live.
- 1:26:23I cut a Achilles. I put a artery in his.
- 1:26:27All right, all right, all right. Well, you know all all the
- 1:26:30small, right? Right.
- 1:26:32I let him know I'm here to stay, you know, that's what it was.
- 1:26:36I, I want to point out, you know, this, this philosophy and
- 1:26:40theology and ideology that, that I, that I live from is why what
- 1:26:44you said is important to me. Because again, it goes back to
- 1:26:48the biblical principle, the, the, the command with a promise
- 1:26:53right on your father more than for the, to have those long days
- 1:26:57to live longer, to live longer, right?
- 1:27:00So, so when you look at that and, and as I shared earlier in
- 1:27:03the beginning of the show, honor your father and mother is not
- 1:27:06that you love or like them, but how you think about them.
- 1:27:10And if we can teach our children to honor their father and mother
- 1:27:14to think, what am I, if I go and do this crime or, or, or or rob
- 1:27:19steal this candy? Think about what is my, what is
- 1:27:22the reputation I'm going to do to my family?
- 1:27:24What is, what am I, what am my mom going to say about this?
- 1:27:26What's my dad going to say about that?
- 1:27:29Yes, that's long. And that's a quick conversation
- 1:27:32to yourself to make you say, no, I'm not.
- 1:27:34You know what? I can't do that.
- 1:27:36My, my parents are not going to they're not going to prove that
- 1:27:38behavior, but we don't have that because maybe sometimes that
- 1:27:41child if, if it's like a bully, I'm going to take my frustration
- 1:27:45out on you so I can redirect it. But I'm really hurting at the
- 1:27:48house because I can't get attention from my parents.
- 1:27:51So I'm going to get that to me one way.
- 1:27:53One way the other, you know, paying to each other for the
- 1:27:56good thing pay. Attention to them doing the bad
- 1:27:58thing, and I believe that that's that disconnection between that
- 1:28:02child and parent and we can restore that.
- 1:28:05We sure can. Great, we can restore that
- 1:28:07relationship. Yeah, we sure can.
- 1:28:09And, and that's what it comes with mental health.
- 1:28:11This is why, This is why this mental, this facility and this
- 1:28:14Academy needs to be built, be built because we want to have
- 1:28:17100 units there plus a mental health facility on the property.
- 1:28:21Then you can go there and you, you have a, a 24 hour daycare
- 1:28:26for people who can't have the kids go to work at night.
- 1:28:30The mother's stressed out when you can't go to work.
- 1:28:33Now, now imagine that again, we now we go back to the school
- 1:28:36district and the child is worried about what's going on at
- 1:28:38home. But you want me to pay attention
- 1:28:40in class. I'm worried about how I'm going
- 1:28:42to get home. I'm worried about what's going
- 1:28:43on at home. I'm worried about what I'm going
- 1:28:45to eat at night. Exactly.
- 1:28:47But I've got to pay attention. You want me to be able to pay
- 1:28:49attention in the classroom? Exactly.
- 1:28:51So at 11 years old, I don't know what's going on.
- 1:28:53Your next meal coming from that Mama going to be at home and
- 1:28:56she'll be knocked out. Anita and her and her vein, all
- 1:28:59the stuff. How do you spend the little 11
- 1:29:01year old kid to deal with that school?
- 1:29:02How much? Man, come on.
- 1:29:04I was, I was, I was what we call, they call a latchkey kid
- 1:29:08in 1978 and I had to walk home 2nd grade by myself with the key
- 1:29:13around my neck, right? And go in the house and don't
- 1:29:16turn the oven on. Don't, don't go outside.
- 1:29:18Don't answer the phone. Don't do nothing.
- 1:29:20But you know what I heard? I heard my mom say when she gave
- 1:29:23me that key, Here's the key to the front door front.
- 1:29:25I'm leaving you when you come home.
- 1:29:27Don't, don't, don't. All I heard was I'm leaving you
- 1:29:30and the pain that I felt made me say that my mom abandoned me and
- 1:29:35that I can't trust. Yup, at 12 years old, you heard.
- 1:29:39All you heard was that was it. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:29:41Don't, don't, don't you say I'm leaving you.
- 1:29:43And and the concept of an 8 year old for some have no concept of
- 1:29:47time. It felt like 20 hours being at
- 1:29:50home by myself. So for five or six hours you got
- 1:29:52to work 8. Years and you know, and that,
- 1:29:54you know, when I hear that that was eight years old, you know,
- 1:29:56when I healed that at 51, just three years ago, because I in
- 1:30:01the CBT common behavior course at the VA and I put that story
- 1:30:05in that curriculum and I realized it was only 90 minutes.
- 1:30:09It wasn't even it wasn't it felt like 20 hours, but it was 90
- 1:30:14minutes. So then I could no longer say
- 1:30:15that my mom abandoned me because I had to tell the truth to
- 1:30:18myself. Is 90 minutes being abandoned
- 1:30:21for Ron? No, no, but that's how I felt as
- 1:30:26a child. So you're talking about 32 years
- 1:30:31big drain that I lived like my mom abandoned me and talked and
- 1:30:34treated her as such and talked to her as such.
- 1:30:37Disconnected. You see, I'm going to talk about
- 1:30:39in the educational part of it when it comes to this Academy,
- 1:30:42and I'm going to give the biggest shout out to my my boy
- 1:30:45Tyair. Tyair is a map genius.
- 1:30:48We created a map called character math.
- 1:30:51When I tell you got to do it, when you meet this brother, the
- 1:30:55kids who are who are having problems, they're learning.
- 1:30:57He can teach you character math in less than 20 minutes to teach
- 1:31:01you your math multiplications do using 0 before everything comes
- 1:31:06back to do. He's a he's a mathematic genius.
- 1:31:09So we're going to take that character math in this whole
- 1:31:12emulation, this whole Academy and put it into our biggest
- 1:31:15curriculum for all the money going to come.
- 1:31:17We're talking rich, rich white folks saying, look, man, joy,
- 1:31:19how much are you going to need this couple?
- 1:31:21Because one couple told me with $25 million be enough, come on.
- 1:31:26And he said because she heard the word education and character
- 1:31:28math, she was so blown away. Come on man.
- 1:31:31I tried my boy Tom Johnson, my, my, my financial guy, Tom said.
- 1:31:37That's right. That's how we go to get this
- 1:31:39money. But you're going to need to
- 1:31:40character math when people see what they're seeing, educate
- 1:31:44itself. And you know, we we know what
- 1:31:4625th in the world when it come to math.
- 1:31:48Yeah, we last. We last.
- 1:31:51My kids walk around there. We teach stuff out of order too.
- 1:31:54Oh my God, so 2 + 2 + 2 is a PlayStation 3 + 3 is is a a
- 1:32:02roadblocks. 4 + 4 is just Japanese anime when the women
- 1:32:07got boobs and butter and cartoon.
- 1:32:10I got grown men in my house watching that game when showing
- 1:32:13boobs and women's these Japanese they show natural.
- 1:32:16Curves. Yes, in cartoons, in the cartoon
- 1:32:20fashion. That's what I'm saying to
- 1:32:21myself. And.
- 1:32:23You ask yourself, why am I beating us in in space and
- 1:32:26everything else? Exactly.
- 1:32:27They can't be the astronauts. They're not trying to be
- 1:32:29astronauts. I don't even know that Debbie
- 1:32:32Allen's mom and Fleece Rosada's mother was one of the hidden
- 1:32:36figures. Yeah.
- 1:32:38Yeah, She was one of the hidden figures there.
- 1:32:40Yeah, I was one of the hidden figures.
- 1:32:41I didn't know that. Yeah.
- 1:32:43And they'll Bill Montgomery's I his president.
- 1:32:46Yeah. Catherine Johnson.
- 1:32:48They named it Johnson Space Center after.
- 1:32:50It wasn't the president. And then it was because of her.
- 1:32:53What did the president do besides we forced him in the
- 1:32:56Sign of Civil Rights bill with God's King.
- 1:32:58That's a whole nother story we got to.
- 1:32:59Come back a whole nother story. So you got to come back at the
- 1:33:02end of the day. I appreciate the time on here I
- 1:33:04want. To get shot.
- 1:33:05Thank you. A list of all my people go ahead
- 1:33:08let us know start now first we know of course, the kiss of Pew
- 1:33:12and her her vision from sacrifice and power and despair
- 1:33:15Academy where she going to put and make it come to premonition
- 1:33:18in 202526 We're going to be breaking ground and Lawrence say
- 1:33:21the same I I speak to the assistance and my boy Chris
- 1:33:25Corrales from the president CEO of lend lend and and loans out
- 1:33:31of Costa Mesa. I know he wasn't listening to my
- 1:33:33boy Derek D2 crazy tunes that do all of my my stuff for me, my
- 1:33:38shirts, all our logo stuff for us.
- 1:33:41Of course, my boy Kevin Indio Copeland, who was listening, my
- 1:33:45boy, of course, Tyair. And you know, of course made me
- 1:33:48Rodney out of Ripley. All right, Rodney.
- 1:33:50You know for sure. And you know, and the hosting
- 1:33:53group, all my friends and I didn't get Kevin, who's the one
- 1:33:57that made me a part of, you know, the Hall of Fame
- 1:34:00bodyguards. And our our next show is Detroit
- 1:34:03this year. So I'll be going to Detroit for
- 1:34:05the next show and bare knuckle the bodyguard.
- 1:34:07And he's the reason why I was the first ever deducted in 2018
- 1:34:11and and I appreciate that. Where's the show?
- 1:34:12That show that you got the is that award in front of you?
- 1:34:14Where's? It yeah, right here.
- 1:34:16It, it was just the very first award I got was this, you know,
- 1:34:20I got that. Then I decided, you know, we got
- 1:34:23a we got a show before that. Of course, it was the very first
- 1:34:25American flag. We got flagged.
- 1:34:28Yeah. You know, so we had celebrities.
- 1:34:30We we made sure everybody got one of these.
- 1:34:32And and of course, and of course one of my two books, this is my

- 1:35:16Man, I appreciate you, man for hanging.
- 1:35:19That's been a blessing to sit here and talk.

- 1:37:37shaking the papers. That's a new that's our new
- 1:37:41truck logic company we're coming out with.
- 1:37:44So look out of our trucks, man. We come in, we believe we're
- 1:37:46going to need drivers and we we open our hearts and veterans
- 1:37:49drivers too. Your vet look for work.
- 1:37:51We have a security company. I have a big mission.
- 1:37:55Oh, I want to say a shout out there before we leave to my boy
- 1:37:58Dennis. We just I just sent you a link
- 1:38:01to your phone. We just signed A10 year lease
- 1:38:03for 10,000 sports Stadium in Ohio.
- 1:38:07It's called flying. It's called flying arenas.
- 1:38:10I'm part of that right now and I just sent it to your phone.
- 1:38:13Take a look at that. When I tell you that arena all
- 1:38:17sporting thing, he want to talk to you because you're in your
- 1:38:21ABA. Let's talk, yes.
- 1:38:24So I talked to my boy Dennis, and he's one of the guy that
- 1:38:27just closed the deal for 10 years.
- 1:38:29We got that whole facility and got over 4000 parking spots.
- 1:38:33Holds 10,000. Arena we're.
- 1:38:35Going to be doing our first boxing event, going to be there
- 1:38:38in late part of July now and I'm part of it.
- 1:38:40So let's, let's get it, man, you're such a blessing for those
- 1:38:44listening. Thank you for tuning, listening.
- 1:38:45I want you to, before you log off, I want you to hear this is
- 1:38:48my mentor. I've been working with Caldwell
- 1:38:50for the last eight years almost. He's the one that's leaving me.
- 1:38:55The mental health education one of those.
- 1:38:57That you have. So I want y'all to listen to
- 1:38:59this. This is his documentary that's
- 1:39:02going to be coming out. It's about four minutes.
- 1:39:04I want y'all. To hear.
- 1:39:05This is the Frondose Show Trench Talk US edition.
- 1:39:11Just check out. This is Caldwell Williams.
- 1:39:16The most compelling social need of humans is to belong.
- 1:39:25All four of my grandparents were born slaves.
- 1:39:28My father's father. He was seven years old and sold
- 1:39:33away from everything and everybody he knew.
- 1:39:38He never again saw any member of his family.
- 1:39:43My father, he's born in 1884. His mother had died in
- 1:39:49childbirth, and he raised himself from age 8.
- 1:39:56The sheriff came with his posse, took my father and my oldest
- 1:40:00brother and beat them. My father died with scars on his
- 1:40:04back from that beating. If the sheriff puts you in jail
- 1:40:09in a Jim Crow S, where do you turn to seek justice?
- 1:40:17I love school. I I it became a source of me
- 1:40:22finding myself when I'd graduated from UCLA 1957 and was
- 1:40:27never even able to get an interview.
- 1:40:29No Jews, no Negroes, no Hispanics, no Orientals.
- 1:40:35Need apply now. What do I do?
- 1:40:43Boy, you add color to our faculty.
- 1:40:45That's, that's all we're interested in.
- 1:40:48All the other counselors were instructed to give me their
- 1:40:51failing seniors, dopers, rebels, suicidals, listening to 12th
- 1:40:58graders who were not going to graduate.
- 1:41:01They told me what was going on in their lives.
- 1:41:03I discovered that I had something to offer people that I
- 1:41:07thought had everything. Wood was already out on the
- 1:41:11campus. That the skinny black did was
- 1:41:13cool. I've got all these kids who want
- 1:41:15to talk to me and I don't have the time to see them.
- 1:41:17I think I might be able to see everybody if I saw them in
- 1:41:20groups. Individual psychotherapy on a
- 1:41:23couch was the only method. Skinny black dude want to do
- 1:41:26groups? You can't do that because it
- 1:41:30doesn't exist. To hell with them.
- 1:41:33Let's do it anyway. Parents want to know, what are
- 1:41:37you doing to bring about this reaction to my kid?
- 1:41:40I've been sending my kids to the best psychiatrist in Southern
- 1:41:42California and this hasn't happened.
- 1:41:45This shit works. Developing adolescence without
- 1:41:51narcotics is a radical new national idea.
- 1:41:56Oh, you know you can't do that. I'll turn to school.
- 1:42:00That includes sensitivity, the mental health needs of our
- 1:42:04students. This is too big for you.
- 1:42:08Would you be willing to train my managers?
- 1:42:12Yeah. Who's Caldwell Williams?
- 1:42:13He hasn't published anything. 22 Iraq Afghan veterans committing
- 1:42:20suicide every day. I think I know who these young
- 1:42:24people are. Mr. Williams, you don't want to
- 1:42:28touch this. You don't know who we are, Mr.
- 1:42:34Williams. And I said yes, I know who you
- 1:42:38are. Maybe you don't know who you
- 1:42:39are. Did your parents encounter
- 1:42:42racism? Oh, my gosh, yes.
- 1:42:45How about your grandparents? Oh, my.
- 1:42:48Even worse. Then how did we get here?
- 1:42:53Someone persisted and prevailed in spite of.
- 1:42:57I would assert that no less is required of us.
- 1:43:22So when you hear me talk about emotional intelligence and
- 1:43:25veteran suicide and youth suicide, I was already on that
- 1:43:29journey with my personal development courses and the
- 1:43:31stuff that God had put me on that path.
- 1:43:32And then I met Caldwell in 2018 and he and I have been going
- 1:43:38through his education. I'm the only one who is, he's
- 1:43:42been trained and developed. People have fallen off.
- 1:43:44Most people don't think that children can do this kind of
- 1:43:46work. I've taught emotional
- 1:43:48intelligence in LA Unified School District this past year
- 1:43:51to 4th and 5th graders and middle school students.
- 1:43:55It works for veterans suicide, as you saw.
- 1:43:59He's, he's 90 years old, about to be 91 this coming year.
- 1:44:02He has been doing this work for over six decades, man, man.
- 1:44:06So that's the guy. That man his, his education is
- 1:44:10phenomenal, man, man. It's a simple conversation and
- 1:44:14he said well, well, my well, my my better have been said ever
- 1:44:18come to when it come to childhood trauma what you did
- 1:44:20yes, you can be healed and this man something everything he
- 1:44:23talked about this dude is unbelievable.
- 1:44:25That's. The work that's.
- 1:44:26The work deal with white people like.
- 1:44:28That that's what I'm saying, Jim Crow.
- 1:44:30Era and he that's the work that dude do you do we got a book
- 1:44:33out. Got a book, but like I said,
- 1:44:35we're we're we I've been working for since 2000, 2018 and no one
- 1:44:39listened because they don't they don't believe that anybody can
- 1:44:41do that work. Who?
- 1:44:43Who shot a Who shot a documentary?
- 1:44:45He does what he. It's almost finished.
- 1:44:48Yeah, it's almost. Finished.
- 1:44:49I got the I got the, I got the that 5 or 10 minutes.
- 1:44:54Yeah, I got the, you know, my boy Dennis W, that's the.
- 1:44:57Work I've been preaching, man, That's the work I've been
- 1:44:59sharing from his education, the stuff that I learned with my own
- 1:45:02personal life. Like we got the work.
- 1:45:04It's just we've been to the school district, we've been to
- 1:45:07the Superintendent, like you said, all people you pointed
- 1:45:09out, we've been trying to get to them.
- 1:45:11Mayor Butts in Inglewood, like we want to demonstrate.
- 1:45:14But, you know, maybe see Mayor Butts like the rest of them, the
- 1:45:17former cop that has that mentality.
- 1:45:20I'm no judge. Exactly.
- 1:45:23I don't judge. I'm a judge, the jury.
- 1:45:24But I tell you what, I'm the I'm the court reporter.
- 1:45:28I ain't no judge and jury, but I'm the person.
- 1:45:30What you saying every day I'm typing it and.
- 1:45:32I'm putting. His brain and said you want to
- 1:45:34tell us you can't and you know you can.
- 1:45:37Let us show you man, don't talk about about it.
- 1:45:41So that's just $55 million measure we want to have for the
- 1:45:45school. We do.
- 1:45:46We do a good number because I think 55 men, it's going to be
- 1:45:50more than enough to what we have to do and we have money to do
- 1:45:52what we want to do because education is part of it.
- 1:45:55Because people know America is wasn't wasn't built on.
- 1:45:59Oops. America was built on the
- 1:46:00shoulders of all immigrants on this earth.
- 1:46:03And then we look at all the patents we have and then we look
- 1:46:06at the the biggest fault I have with our people is all this
- 1:46:10reparations. I'm changing people break it
- 1:46:13down, reparations and I'm going to say quicksand.
- 1:46:15Now we're done, $100 million off to you and 100 acres of land.
- 1:46:22Can you take it or leave it? You signed a contract, now
- 1:46:24you're happy. I got 100 million and I got 100
- 1:46:28acres of land. They come to me and say, well,
- 1:46:31your great grandfather invented the ironing board signal light
- 1:46:34and we just got to find out that you're the sole heir of the
- 1:46:37empire. How much is it, $11 trillion?
- 1:46:41Now you just messed around and you said 100 million is good
- 1:46:44enough for me. I got I got life wealth now for
- 1:46:47all my grandbabies, all my great grand to a big different when
- 1:46:50you have all that patent money. Different life.
- 1:46:53Different life just here hit by little reparations.
- 1:46:56You can't put a number on reparations.
- 1:46:57No, you can't. You can't.
- 1:46:59You don't put one on there, but everybody know for a fact when
- 1:47:02you and me probably kidding that person invented something in
- 1:47:04America. We probably sold that a lot.
- 1:47:07We second to their cousins and guess what they found Thunder
- 1:47:10Bruce Femme had all them people and then Bruce Femme got their
- 1:47:13beats back. I.
- 1:47:13Remember. Yeah, then Manhattan and yeah.
- 1:47:16I, I, I went, I went to the ceremony, then me and my me and
- 1:47:19my other half went to the beach and we read what they went
- 1:47:22through. And that's what it is we go
- 1:47:24through. And then they still still
- 1:47:25didn't. They still sell it.
- 1:47:28People can say they sold it, that's it.
- 1:47:30But I heard they got a they get a check every.
- 1:47:34Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:47:36All the white people on that land, I don't know, It's owned
- 1:47:38by black people. You got to move out.
- 1:47:43But see, yeah, that's it. So why would you not do that?
- 1:47:48You know, Why would you understand?
- 1:47:49So God is good. That's why I tell everybody
- 1:47:52thank you man. Thank you for hanging out.
- 1:47:53I look forward to talking to you on the sports show on KCAA.
