- 1:56Year
- 2:04award at the Midwest Country Music Awards.
- 2:06He joins us
- 2:07this morning to share the experience.
- 2:09Thanks for being here.
- 2:10Oh, thanks for having me back, Bailey.
- 2:11It's good to see you again.
- 2:12Yeah.
- 2:13So tell us a little about this award.
- 2:14So the Midwest Country Music Organization, obviously based in the Midwest, mostly through
- 2:19the Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota areas.
- 2:22And they have an award show once a year.
- 2:25Last year we were there just as artists and absolutely blown away by the spectacle of it
- 2:31all, and had the dream immediately of being on that stage and accepting an award.
- 2:37The Content creator of the year award is something brand new that, they created.
- 2:41I don't want say they created it for me, but it definitely felt like that.
- 2:45I've spent the last year, as you know, with the podcast supporting other local musicians and,
- 2:50interviewing all of these people and putting them, out in the forefront.
- 2:54I know that you do a lot for us to have us on these programs, but there could always be more,
- 2:58especially with as many independent musicians that we have in the world today.
- 3:02So, very honored to have this and a big step for us to have a little recognition for what
- 3:08we're doing for our community.
- 3:10Yeah.
- 3:10Tell us where these awards were located and kind of what the night was like.
- 3:13So the awards show took place in Okoboji again this year in Arnold's Park.
- 3:17It was at the Roof Guardian Ballroom, is a beautiful, beautiful theater there.
- 3:21Next year, know they're going to be moving to La Crosse into an even bigger, not stadium yet,
- 3:27but we're getting there, the La Crosse Center.
- 3:30Just really, really appreciative of the organization for doing this, not just for me,
- 3:34for all the artists that won awards there.
- 3:37To get that recognition means a lot.
- 3:39Yeah.
- 3:39How important is that recognition and kind of, you know, raising you move us artists up as
- 3:43well?
- 3:44Well, I've seen what it's done for, other artists, you know, last year watching how other
- 3:49people have used the name and, you know, the awards internally maybe don't mean everything.
- 3:55The recognition outwardly though means a ton.
- 3:57To have someone else say, Hey, you're really good at your job, means a lot to people who are
- 4:03investing and are looking to support these things that you're doing.
- 4:07So for us, you know, just pressing a year of having the podcast, it means a ton to us to
- 4:13have that little bit recognition.
- 4:16So when we go to seek advertisers and sponsors now, which is our big mission, so that we can
- 4:21do more to support the artists that we've been, you know, kind of supporting, but just putting
- 4:27their art out there.
- 4:28We're big music fans like you, Bailey.
- 4:29We just want to see them do better.
- 4:31Yeah.
- 4:32What what's next on the horizon for you?
- 4:34Well, what's next is that we actually formed our own organization, the Midwest Original
- 4:38Music Organization we built to kind of, expound on what we saw with the MCMO.
- 4:44It's a wonderful organization, and we're not leaving that organization, but a lot of our
- 4:48friends are either in the rock world or in the hip hop world, my friend Night Shield.
- 4:52So we wanted to open those doors a little bit more and to provide a little bit more,
- 4:56education is what I'm interested in doing.
- 4:59So we're just launching that.
- 5:01You can find it at thesceneprojects.com and find out more about what we're building,
- 5:06not just for now, but for the future and for future artists.
- 5:10Yeah.
- 5:10What's it been like to just see how far you've come in such a short amount of time?
- 5:14It seems like
- 5:14I was definitely reflecting on it in the green room where a year ago I was here with my guitar
- 5:19and it was just about our own music and what we were doing.
- 5:22And now it's turned into so much more and we're supporting.
- 5:25I mean, have 200 episodes out, so that's 200 artists or over 100 that have been part of our
- 5:30show.
- 5:31Our songwriter showcase programming where we feature them much like you do for us here, but
- 5:36I'm able to give them three songs in a little bit longer format.
- 5:39And, that's been very great.
- 5:40We got 20 of those episodes in the can.
- 5:42Just looking to get that sponsor support before we start rolling out what is Shot and Broadcast
- 5:47HD television, right?
- 5:48It's TV and this independent media is changing the world.
- 5:52We're just looking to kind carve out a name for ourselves in it.
- 5:55Yeah, what's been the feedback from the community as well just having this for people?
- 5:59Well, the members vote for this.
- 6:02So the feedback is that, right?
- 6:04The feedback is thank you so much for investing your time into us and bringing awareness to our
- 6:09music and our dreams.
- 6:11The people have spoken, The members themselves appreciate what we've been able to do for them
- 6:17in a short amount of time.
- 6:18And where we go from here is straight up.
- 6:20This is not a finish line.
- 6:22This is the starting gun.
- 6:24Awesome.
- 6:24Well, thanks for being here.
- 6:25Thanks for having me, Bailey.
- 6:26I always appreciate you.
- 6:27Yeah.
- 6:27Well, stick around.
- 6:28We have more after the break.
- 6:30Thanks.
- 6:30Sweet.
- 6:31No.
- 6:31Thank you.
- 6:49It's alright.
- 6:50It's gonna be me who breaks it if it's anyone.
- 6:52Yeah.
- 6:53I would
- 7:08That was fun.
