- 1:37Speaker 5: do something a little different.
- 1:39Speaker 2: One of our longtime supporters, well actually not long time,
- 1:43Speaker 2: actually a new supporter, but has been, you know, just
- 1:47Speaker 2: reaching out, having different things to say that we're insightful,
- 1:50Speaker 2: and I thought it might be fun to bring them
- 1:51Speaker 2: onto the show.
- 1:52Speaker 5: So without further ado, what to do?
- 1:55Speaker 6: Eddie, Hey, i's a goin family.

- 2:32Speaker 7: setup for podcasting. Well, I actually didn't do any podcasting
- 2:35Speaker 7: this week, but I did a couple of different videos
- 2:37Speaker 7: and things. So I just pulled everything together, like uh
- 2:41Speaker 7: I learned to do. Use everything you got.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Well, welcome to our humble show, and we appreciate you
- 2:46Speaker 5: coming on. You know, it's always good to meet people,

- 2:54Speaker 2: We're not gonna interview you quite yet. We're gonna let
- 2:57Speaker 2: you get you to the groove, you know, kind of
- 2:59Speaker 2: get the show started, getting.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Raised, juice is flowing, and then we'll hit you with
- 3:03Speaker 5: a whole bunch of awkward questions.
- 3:04Speaker 6: How about that sounds like a plan?
- 3:08Speaker 7: So Eddie Pierce born and raised Chicago, Illinois, currently residing
- 3:14Speaker 7: in the BFW area. Most notable credits, I guess you
- 3:19Speaker 7: would say, would be being the founder and publisher with
- 3:23Speaker 7: Rainbow Room Publishing, which is where I published my own
- 3:27Speaker 7: works and works of several other people. Coming up on
- 3:31Speaker 7: the thirteenth year anniversary of that, and over that time
- 3:34Speaker 7: it has expanded into second arm of the company, our
- 3:39Speaker 7: RP Live, which is the YouTube channel slash podcasting trying
- 3:43Speaker 7: to get like y'all, and more recently been starting to
- 3:51Speaker 7: finally finally got up had the logos.
- 3:53Speaker 6: Since twenty fourteen.
- 3:54Speaker 7: Start the third arm of the business, which is not
- 3:58Speaker 7: for profit where the others are for profit, but Kaleidoscope,
- 4:01Speaker 7: which is a digital art magazine. So I've been doing
- 4:05Speaker 7: this for a while and yeah, I'm ready to go.
- 4:10Speaker 5: I was wondering if you was gonna wear the hat.
- 4:12Speaker 5: What't you wonder if he was gonna wear that hat.
- 4:14Speaker 8: It was, Oh, I'm here for it to me, but say, look,
- 4:23Speaker 8: I'm gonna tell y'all this a good y'all.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Y'all inspired me because I said, oh, I'm.
- 4:29Speaker 7: Gonna get a good promo shot either, but not with
- 4:31Speaker 7: this check up WEPM, which is why I don't need
- 4:34Speaker 7: my phone. I just I didn't have time to set
- 4:36Speaker 7: my phone up right, and I haven't done it forever
- 4:37Speaker 7: on my list. But I was like, when I get
- 4:39Speaker 7: out for this, I'll get to the good camera. Take
- 4:42Speaker 7: this cute logo I see up here. You're not I'm
- 4:47Speaker 7: already listen.
- 4:48Speaker 1: To me.

- 5:00Speaker 2: ghetto as studio. While indeed, how are you feeling this
- 5:04Speaker 2: weakness lyric?
- 5:05Speaker 5: What's your mood? I heard it wasn't.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Good, Not that it wasn't good, It could have always
- 5:11Speaker 3: been better. But I'm feeling real feisty this weean because I.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Mean to go in and let have mood.
- 5:20Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, Like nobody's getting away with
- 5:23Speaker 3: jack shit mood. He could get one too, Yes, say
- 5:27Speaker 3: anybody can get it.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Crack up period.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Care the elaborator, you gonna wait until later on.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Well, since we're here, since the gangs are here, I
- 5:42Speaker 3: might as well go ahead and go into what I'm
- 5:44Speaker 3: talking about.
- 5:45Speaker 4: So I had.
- 5:50Speaker 3: A show, well two shows, because I have my own band,
- 5:54Speaker 3: hey twisted addiction period.
- 5:57Speaker 4: It's an R and B band.
- 5:59Speaker 3: And then I'm also in a go go band called
- 6:01Speaker 3: a level up band for sure. Now Black, who is
- 6:06Speaker 3: the founder of a level up band business? Shout out
- 6:12Speaker 3: to Black, of course, that's her own business.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Called shop now VI.
- 6:18Speaker 5: P mm hmm.

- 6:25Speaker 5: Okay, we were supposed to do the.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Show in July.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Two days before the show in July, the owner calls
- 6:33Speaker 3: her and says, we can't do the show because there's
- 6:37Speaker 3: a problem with the sprinkler system in the club.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Okay, something about a show.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Get two days in a dance okay, fast forward, we
- 6:50Speaker 3: get another date. Why is the date so far out?
- 6:54Speaker 3: I don't know, but we were given an October date. Well,
- 6:58Speaker 3: they was given October date.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Okay, I'm not there yet.
- 7:03Speaker 3: But we're gonna call from Blacks and uh, it's messed

- 7:18Speaker 3: paid for.
- 7:19Speaker 5: You get in.
- 7:20Speaker 3: There and there's hosts setting up for this eight o'clock
- 7:24Speaker 3: PM birthday party, impeeding on her.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Time, and we're like, what is going on? Like when's
- 7:30Speaker 4: where's the fashion show stuff? Like what's going on?
- 7:32Speaker 3: I'm looking around. All I see is birthday party decorations,
- 7:36Speaker 3: balloons and big ass signs that spell names and pictures
- 7:41Speaker 3: of niggas. I don't know, so I'm like, I'm confused, Like,
- 7:44Speaker 3: what's going on here? The club owner allowed these people
- 7:51Speaker 3: to come in during her time slot to set up
- 7:55Speaker 3: all they shit, which meant that she was unable to
- 7:59Speaker 3: have her space to set up her stuff for her
- 8:03Speaker 3: event during the slot that she fucking paid for. Oh no, man,
- 8:09Speaker 3: And I'm like, what where they do that?
- 8:12Speaker 4: When where they do that at? Obviously there? Obviously there.
- 8:22Speaker 3: So of course the people that she paid to come
- 8:26Speaker 3: do the event, like she.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Had a whole planner come out.
- 8:30Speaker 3: She had a videographer, a photographer, all of that that
- 8:34Speaker 3: came out.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Everybody fucking least.
- 8:37Speaker 6: Of course.
- 8:40Speaker 3: It's empty.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Nobody's in there but the people setting up the decorations
- 8:45Speaker 4: because everybody laugh.
- 8:48Speaker 3: You would think that the guy would be like, oh,
- 8:51Speaker 3: I'm so sorry this happened. Let me give you some
- 8:55Speaker 3: money back compensate this, that and the third that didn't happen.
- 8:58Speaker 3: You want to know what he tried to say.
- 9:00Speaker 5: He wanted you to play for him. I mean, what
- 9:02Speaker 5: is happening?
- 9:03Speaker 1: We can?
- 9:04Speaker 3: You know you can.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I could put you on some shows. Don't nobody want
- 9:08Speaker 4: those shows?
- 9:09Speaker 3: Getta got her fucking money back?
- 9:11Speaker 5: What is you doing?
- 9:13Speaker 3: You make it so hard to support black businesses in
- 9:16Speaker 3: the DMV, like for real stuff like this, like, no,
- 9:20Speaker 3: you don't do that.
- 9:21Speaker 4: That's bad business.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Because I said I was going to and I'm a
- 9:27Speaker 3: woman of my word. Yancey sarack Berry Spencer, I'm the owner.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Of five Sisters in Laurel. You deadass wrong.
- 9:42Speaker 6: Award for being dead ass.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Wrong and not in your business correctly.
- 9:47Speaker 5: You said.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I don't care because first of all, listen, you gotta
- 9:53Speaker 3: start holding people accountable. Period.
- 9:55Speaker 4: That's what's wrong with people. People just want to just
- 9:59Speaker 4: not saying that she is.
- 10:00Speaker 3: But nine times out of ten, we just take what
- 10:02Speaker 3: we can get and then go on about our business
- 10:04Speaker 3: because we're too scared to speak out about what's right
- 10:07Speaker 3: and what's wrong.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Now do better.
- 10:10Speaker 5: That's fair you.
- 10:13Speaker 3: When you sit there and have bad business like that.
- 10:16Speaker 3: You don't know who this girl could become. She could
- 10:20Speaker 3: sell clothes to all the supermodels in the Victoria Secret Joint.
- 10:24Speaker 4: You don't know.
- 10:24Speaker 3: She could be the next Rihanna. But but you're in
- 10:27Speaker 3: here trying to carry stuff now. That's putting you on blast.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Won't do business with you in the future. And that's
- 10:36Speaker 3: on period. Yeah, my performance went well.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I saw the videos. Reid saw the videos. Everything looked lit.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You look a vibrant. The band was on point. Everybody
- 10:52Speaker 2: looked like they were having a guitar it was.
- 10:55Speaker 3: It was a good time and I got some great
- 10:56Speaker 3: footage that I'm going to put on the website when
- 10:59Speaker 3: i go back together. So it is what it is.
- 11:02Speaker 3: But yeah, man, DMV owners, I don't care what you are.
- 11:07Speaker 3: If you're owner of a club, boutique whatever, do batter, yo,
- 11:11Speaker 3: do batter, especially when it comes to our own people,
- 11:14Speaker 3: do better.
- 11:15Speaker 5: Amen?
- 11:16Speaker 6: Amen?
- 11:18Speaker 5: What about you, Reddy P. How's your mood this week?
- 11:23Speaker 7: Well, you know what, I think, I'm here to be
- 11:25Speaker 7: a little bit of a ray of sunshine. But now
- 11:34Speaker 7: it's actually been pretty good. A bit of a whirlwind,
- 11:37Speaker 7: but very very excited. You know some all that work
- 11:41Speaker 7: I just talked about. You know, you look at the metaphor.
- 11:44Speaker 7: I'm a writer, so I do that everything again. But
- 11:47Speaker 7: you look at the metaphor of planting your seeds and
- 11:49Speaker 7: tending your fields and waiting up for rain and waiting
- 11:53Speaker 7: for a big crop. And so it's kind of really
- 11:55Speaker 7: popping up. One of the newest things that I'd have
- 11:58Speaker 7: got into. Another hat that I'm starting to wear is acting.
- 12:04Speaker 7: I basically in the midst of doing my own work.
- 12:07Speaker 6: And this kind of even goes to what you were
- 12:09Speaker 6: just talking about. Lyrics.
- 12:09Speaker 7: You do business, do business, ripe with people. You never
- 12:12Speaker 7: know what may happen next. And so I was recruiting
- 12:15Speaker 7: people for an event I was I was about to do.
- 12:17Speaker 7: One of the people that I recruited, I was looking
- 12:20Speaker 7: at some stuff he posted. He posted two casting calls
- 12:22Speaker 7: for extras here in Dallas. One of them was ten
- 12:24Speaker 7: minutes away from my house. And so one thing leads
- 12:28Speaker 7: to another, And I did one last week and I
- 12:31Speaker 7: got one this week. And in both cases it's like
- 12:35Speaker 7: it started as an extra, but it got a little
- 12:38Speaker 7: extra in the sense of, oh, we're gonna put you
- 12:40Speaker 7: right in the.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Middle of the shot in the big round.
- 12:42Speaker 7: Oh, you can be here twice with somebody else can't be,
- 12:45Speaker 7: So let's switch you up. Oh, now you're gonna come in. Well,
- 12:48Speaker 7: we're gonna give you a speaking roll on this piece.
- 12:50Speaker 7: So it's dope. And in the middle of that, you know,
- 12:54Speaker 7: I look up and me and my voice on the
- 12:56Speaker 7: slang dysfunctional sleep schedule, I think.
- 13:00Speaker 6: And boom and we are got an interview in the
- 13:02Speaker 6: middle of the week.
- 13:02Speaker 7: In less than twenty four hours. So uh, it's going
- 13:05Speaker 7: pretty good for me. And I'm gonna take that energy
- 13:09Speaker 7: and lift y'all up as much as I can, because baby,
- 13:12Speaker 7: y'all be carrying a lot for these people.
- 13:14Speaker 6: And I'm not saying that you shouldn't.
- 13:16Speaker 7: But I do realize the fact of And it's your
- 13:20Speaker 7: job too, is your show. Look, I'm looking at this
- 13:24Speaker 7: this way lyrics in the middle of you on the
- 13:26Speaker 7: other side and this money. I'm in black, but you
- 13:28Speaker 7: like the devil on the shoulder and I'm trying to
- 13:30Speaker 7: be the angel souldier.
- 13:31Speaker 6: But just an idea that yeah, no, I mean that's heavy,
- 13:35Speaker 6: you know, y'all.
- 13:36Speaker 7: Y'all, y'all take on a lot of heaviness, even for
- 13:38Speaker 7: however long you do it, or to whatever you do.
- 13:40Speaker 7: And it's like, hey, so I gotta marry y'all up,
- 13:42Speaker 7: how y'all wost to do all of that? So the
- 13:44Speaker 7: idea of being in y'all comments and talking goofing is
- 13:47Speaker 7: on Facebook and being able to be here today boom,
- 13:51Speaker 7: I'm here for it all day every day.
- 13:53Speaker 5: Oh that was nice.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Now I have to be the devil and say that
- 13:56Speaker 2: my week was fucked up, like I'm talking y'all.
- 14:00Speaker 4: No, this is this is the confession.
- 14:05Speaker 6: But I listen, No, I'm kidding.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Wasn't that It wasn't that bad, honestly.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Okay, So my TV has been glued to MSNBC and
- 14:15Speaker 2: it is infuriating to watch these white people.
- 14:20Speaker 5: Just just just white people.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I don't understand it. I don't understand like where the
- 14:26Speaker 2: mentality is. I don't understand this whole we're superior, Like, girl,
- 14:31Speaker 2: what are you protecting?
- 14:32Speaker 5: What?
- 14:33Speaker 9: What?
- 14:34Speaker 5: What's going on?
- 14:36Speaker 2: I don't understand how anybody is trying to pass Trump
- 14:41Speaker 2: off as somebody being of sound and not like I
- 14:45Speaker 2: get it, like I really truly get it that we
- 14:48Speaker 2: really probably wouldn't be able to tell if he, you know.
- 14:52Speaker 5: Had to mention or not based off who he is.
- 14:56Speaker 2: But but still thatwithstanding is still just astonishing to watch
- 15:02Speaker 2: people dance around something that's playing in all of our
- 15:06Speaker 2: faces and nobody's willing to save the thing.
- 15:09Speaker 5: Somebody needs to say the thing.
- 15:12Speaker 7: And psychopath sociopathic narcissists. Let me, that's not that minor
- 15:19Speaker 7: in psychology.
- 15:21Speaker 6: He got all of them qualifications of the people. But yeah, no,
- 15:29Speaker 6: he yeah no.
- 15:31Speaker 7: If I was able to say that somebody is probably
- 15:34Speaker 7: missing a moral core, he's he's he He kind of
- 15:41Speaker 7: reminds me of that that slight difference between us and
- 15:45Speaker 7: the rest of the animal kingdom, and that we had
- 15:48Speaker 7: that higher sense of reasoning. Now go with me, girl,
- 15:51Speaker 7: And it's funny, but go with me. In my opinion,
- 15:54Speaker 7: is operating purely out of animal survival.
- 15:59Speaker 6: So I love the fittest instinct, and.
- 16:03Speaker 7: There is no morality or anything trying to counter balance
- 16:10Speaker 7: that in any way. Especially being who he is, He's
- 16:12Speaker 7: surrounded by sick of fans and yes people, so he
- 16:16Speaker 7: he doesn't have any what's the word I'm looking for motivation.
- 16:22Speaker 7: And he's not stupid, he's not but he but but
- 16:28Speaker 7: and he's not the stupidest one I know, but I
- 16:29Speaker 7: will say that I don't think he's smart enough for
- 16:31Speaker 7: people to be calling him the Antichrist.
- 16:33Speaker 6: I mean, he's and whatnot.
- 16:36Speaker 7: And Antichrist is supposed to be charismatic. But I think
- 16:39Speaker 7: he sposed to be smart. But I'm just saying that, no,
- 16:43Speaker 7: he he like I said that, he just doesn't have
- 16:47Speaker 7: any everything you're hearing about his history, his growing up,
- 16:50Speaker 7: who has ever told him no? And and it be
- 16:54Speaker 7: someone of consequence that he had to actually listen.
- 16:56Speaker 3: To his wife?
- 16:59Speaker 6: Well did she can?
- 17:00Speaker 4: Because they gone.
- 17:05Speaker 7: And the current and the current when it's still in
- 17:08Speaker 7: the current, when it's still here, she like, they say,
- 17:10Speaker 7: possibly collecting checks for these appearances and whatnot, but they.
- 17:16Speaker 6: But they said no completely. But I have ran all
- 17:19Speaker 6: over your rant.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Brother.
- 17:20Speaker 5: I'm sorry, it's fine, It's absolutely fine. Anytime that I'm
- 17:27Speaker 5: digging in white people's as well. That came out wrong.
- 17:30Speaker 5: You know what I mean that I'm there, you're invited.
- 17:34Speaker 5: So anyways, moving right along the Yeah, it's I don't.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Think of the miss black Nomore.
- 17:41Speaker 7: That's the cracker that fell off in off the cookie
- 17:43Speaker 7: sheet in the oven and got firmed. They just happened
- 17:46Speaker 7: to have the pigmentation, but the blackness, the things I
- 17:51Speaker 7: know as blackness.
- 17:52Speaker 6: And I'm not saying Republicans, Please understand me.
- 17:55Speaker 7: I'm not saying Republicans, Okay, but I am talking about
- 17:59Speaker 7: the ones that in that same psychological group think that
- 18:03Speaker 7: gets talking about mm.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Huh.
- 18:07Speaker 5: Who you want to be when you grow up?
- 18:09Speaker 4: Lyric That's a great question. I'm so glad that she.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Asks, are you really I am, because.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I actually have an uplifting one this week. I want
- 18:25Speaker 3: to be like Chicago rapper and activist Golden Child, who
- 18:30Speaker 3: has been making a powerful impact in the community through
- 18:33Speaker 3: his music.
- 18:34Speaker 4: And actions, and it's time to give him his flowers.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Not only does he do music inspire positive change, but
- 18:41Speaker 3: his Unity Movement has been working tirestly to bring people together,
- 18:46Speaker 3: squash community conflict.
- 18:48Speaker 4: And promote peace.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Through events like the Unity Concert, he has helped foster
- 18:53Speaker 3: conversations and create connections that has led to a real
- 18:57Speaker 3: healing in Chicago's neighborhoods.
- 18:59Speaker 5: And Baby, I want to be like Zorian Harris when
- 19:04Speaker 5: I grow up.
- 19:04Speaker 2: He's a senior at white Haven High School in Memphis
- 19:08Speaker 2: who has made headlines for his remarkable achievement of receiving
- 19:15Speaker 2: over eight million in scholarship offers from more than one
- 19:19Speaker 2: hundred colleges in universities. This accomplishment has only made him
- 19:23Speaker 2: a standout student, but also marks him as one of
- 19:27Speaker 2: the school's million dollars scholars.
- 19:31Speaker 5: Now would they say million dollar scholars for a school?
- 19:34Speaker 3: Who else?
- 19:35Speaker 5: Who else got eight million? Who? I feel like? Because
- 19:39Speaker 5: he was black? They was like, m.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, he's one of the Not for you, Zorian Harris,
- 19:48Speaker 2: you are that from graduations?
- 19:55Speaker 6: That is amazing?
- 19:57Speaker 5: All right? So you ready for these letters? Up next?
- 20:01Speaker 4: Are the letters ready for me?
- 20:05Speaker 5: We'll find out.
- 20:08Speaker 3: This discourse has resurfaced.
- 20:09Speaker 9: On Twitter, where black gay people are being asked whether
- 20:12Speaker 9: we identify by race or sexuality first.
- 20:15Speaker 3: So I'm just here to issue you all.
- 20:17Speaker 9: A reminder that you are not black first, and you
- 20:20Speaker 9: are not gay first.
- 20:21Speaker 3: You are everything at the same goddamn time.
- 20:25Speaker 9: It does not matter what society sees you as, does
- 20:28Speaker 9: not matter if you can hide or conceal your queerness.
- 20:32Speaker 3: It does not matter what strip black people tell you.
- 20:35Speaker 9: Baby, You are both black and queer all at once.
- 20:38Speaker 9: The very notion that we have to prioritize which marginalized
- 20:42Speaker 9: identity gets recognized first, is to spit in the face
- 20:46Speaker 9: of intersectionality. It erases the fact that in black spaces,
- 20:49Speaker 9: queerness is a source of contention and subjugation, and in
- 20:53Speaker 9: non black queer spaces, blackness is a source of contention
- 20:58Speaker 9: and subjugation whose experience this happens simultaneously, and they feed
- 21:02Speaker 9: off of each other, often leaving us starting. It is
- 21:06Speaker 9: so necessary that we advocate for ourselves and others in
- 21:09Speaker 9: ways that are inclusive, intersectional, and complete because of the
- 21:13Speaker 9: words of my goddamn self. Allowing motherfuckers to prioritize which
- 21:18Speaker 9: parts of your identity they want to recognize first will
- 21:21Speaker 9: always leave some part of you behind.
- 21:25Speaker 1: You should but definitely she would.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Hey, what's going on you guys? This is your girl,
- 21:32Speaker 3: Miss lyric Provido, and I'm back with my segment if
- 21:34Speaker 3: it were a lyric where I discuss your situationships, friendships,
- 21:38Speaker 3: relationships and everything else in between and give my two
- 21:41Speaker 3: cents about it. Now, if you guys want to continue
- 21:44Speaker 3: to send me your advice question, please send it to
- 21:47Speaker 3: my Gmail at Lyric Provider at gmail dot com, or
- 21:50Speaker 3: you can DM me on my social media platforms, which
- 21:54Speaker 3: is Facebook, TikTok, Instagram Only fans no no, that was
- 22:02Speaker 3: Tony's day things.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Name, not her things.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Maybe Twitter now called x uh. We'll get to that anyway.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I do, all right, So this one, dear, I guess
- 22:23Speaker 2: we can say names now. Okay, dear lyric, please help
- 22:26Speaker 2: me out. My name is Ching Gao ch n g
- 22:30Speaker 2: Ao chen Gao, so hopefully I did not butcher that.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Please help me out. My name is chingall. My girlfriend
- 22:37Speaker 2: and I have been dating for a year, and the
- 22:38Speaker 2: first couple of months was awesome, but then we had
- 22:41Speaker 2: lots of fights and honestly, it made me rethink if
- 22:44Speaker 2: she's the one. The idea of breaking up really upsets me.
- 22:47Speaker 2: But at the same time, I don't want to waste
- 22:49Speaker 2: each other's time dating if we have no real intention
- 22:52Speaker 2: of a future.
- 22:53Speaker 5: But at the.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Same time, I really do love her. The main doubts
- 22:57Speaker 2: are mainly because I am Nies atheists and she is
- 23:02Speaker 2: Endian Muslim, but her religion is really strict and we
- 23:06Speaker 2: are of totally opposite cultures. I hope you can help
- 23:10Speaker 2: me with some advice. I also feel that if I
- 23:13Speaker 2: delayed the breakup then it will hurt even more.
- 23:17Speaker 5: Love with love, Cheen Gao.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Oh okay, hey, Chen Gao, thanks for writing to me.
- 23:24Speaker 4: First and foremost, Now for my advice.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Oh up, it's not gonna be harsh this week.
- 23:35Speaker 4: It's not.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I think that you need to have a conversation with
- 23:38Speaker 3: your girlfriend and let her know how you feel. First
- 23:40Speaker 3: and foremost. It's very important that you tell her this
- 23:46Speaker 3: so she knows what she's going to do, like if
- 23:51Speaker 3: you If you, I understand that you guys have been
- 23:53Speaker 3: fighting and this, that and the third. Coming from opposite
- 23:59Speaker 3: cultures as specially Muslim and you being atheists can be
- 24:04Speaker 3: pretty tricky, especially when it comes to possibly raising children.
- 24:11Speaker 3: That's just something to think about, uniting your families, having
- 24:14Speaker 3: these family gatherings.
- 24:16Speaker 5: I'll be forgetting.
- 24:19Speaker 4: This is a lot to consider when you're marrying someone.
- 24:22Speaker 4: People tend to well, people should tend to marry people
- 24:28Speaker 4: who they are equally yoked with. What that means is.
- 24:33Speaker 3: You have the same.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Values, you have.
- 24:37Speaker 3: The same not You don't have to have the exact
- 24:41Speaker 3: same characteristics as what you feel is though should be.
- 24:47Speaker 4: How a household is ran but similar, and anything that.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Is not aligned with that things can typically go wrong.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I find it very commendable that you even said that
- 25:04Speaker 3: you're thinking of breaking up with her, so you don't
- 25:07Speaker 3: waste other people's time, because a lot of the times
- 25:10Speaker 3: people get into these relationships and they just become comfortable,
- 25:13Speaker 3: and it's the longer and longer it takes for them,
- 25:16Speaker 3: the harder, the harder it's going to be for them
- 25:18Speaker 3: to like get over each other. So I think that
- 25:23Speaker 3: you need to tell her how you feel, tell her
- 25:25Speaker 3: your concerns, let the cars fall where they may, and
- 25:29Speaker 3: if you end up separating, at least the very least
- 25:33Speaker 3: that you'll be able to become good friends and you know,
- 25:36Speaker 3: stay in contact with each other that way, because it
- 25:39Speaker 3: sounds like you still love her. But you can love
- 25:41Speaker 3: someone and.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Not be with them as well. You don't have to
- 25:43Speaker 4: have a relationship with someone that you.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Love love you from a distance.
- 25:49Speaker 3: There you know, it just might not be, you know,
- 25:51Speaker 3: the relationship for you. And to me, it sounds like
- 25:55Speaker 3: you already have your mind made up. It's too many
- 25:57Speaker 3: negatives on your list that you know. So I wish
- 26:02Speaker 3: you the best.
- 26:05Speaker 5: That's that already. You want me to read this second one?
- 26:09Speaker 5: Or you going where you want?
- 26:11Speaker 4: You go ahead, I'm gona save mine for last, all right.
- 26:15Speaker 2: This one is from one someone that chooses to remain anonymous.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Dear Lyric, I hope this message finds you all well.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I've been a loyal listener quite some time, and I.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Love Okay, Okay.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Today I find myself in a bit of a pickle
- 26:33Speaker 2: and could really use your advice.
- 26:35Speaker 5: So here's the situation.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I recently started dating a woman who is adventurous and
- 26:39Speaker 2: open minded, which I absolutely love. We've had some great
- 26:44Speaker 2: chemistry and things have been heating up between us. However,
- 26:48Speaker 2: during a particularly intimate night, she casually mentioned that she's
- 26:53Speaker 2: into role playing and suggested that we explore some fantasies together.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I was intrigued, but also a bit hesitant because I've
- 27:01Speaker 2: never ventured down that fath before.
- 27:04Speaker 5: And y'all crack me up with these.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Letters, because I feel that I feel building up and
- 27:08Speaker 2: I'm trying to last. A few nights later, she surprised
- 27:13Speaker 2: me with the proposition she wanted me.
- 27:17Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 27:17Speaker 2: She wanted to dress up as a character from a
- 27:19Speaker 2: popular fantasy series, and she asked if I would be
- 27:23Speaker 2: comfortable playing along as her counterpart. I find myself excited
- 27:30Speaker 2: by the idea, but also slightly anxious about stepping outside
- 27:36Speaker 2: of my comfort zone.
- 27:38Speaker 5: I want to be supportive and adventuress.
- 27:39Speaker 2: But I also don't want to be something that I
- 27:42Speaker 2: might might regret or feel awkward about it later.
- 27:46Speaker 5: So I'm reaching out to you for you all for advice.
- 27:50Speaker 5: If it were you in this situation, what would you do?
- 27:54Speaker 2: How do you navigate the balance between trying new things
- 27:57Speaker 2: for the sake of your partner while also ensuring that
- 28:00Speaker 2: you're comfortable in having fun. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Thanks for taking the time to read my letter. I
- 28:06Speaker 2: appreciate any insights you can share. Sincerely, A concerned listener
- 28:12Speaker 2: wishing to remain an.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Honors Okay, anonymous, do it.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Now?
- 28:22Speaker 3: Are you one to find out what you like and
- 28:25Speaker 3: what you don't like? If you don't try it at
- 28:27Speaker 3: least once?
- 28:29Speaker 5: Work very out there, put.
- 28:32Speaker 3: That anime outfit on, get that girl, do some nasty stuff, and.
- 28:37Speaker 4: If you don't like it, just say, hey, this is
- 28:40Speaker 4: not really for me. You know what I'm saying.
- 28:42Speaker 3: You can you have that option, or you can compromise,
- 28:46Speaker 3: say hey this is not really for me, but for you.
- 28:50Speaker 3: You know, we can do this once in a blue moon.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I don't mind doing that, Like jump out there, put
- 28:57Speaker 3: that costume on, right, kung fu moves and ship don't
- 29:03Speaker 3: hit her though, I'm domestic violence around this motherfucker y'all
- 29:08Speaker 3: be doing.
- 29:10Speaker 5: I'm just imagining the moves in and say.
- 29:13Speaker 4: The scens and take her down. Yeah, I'm all here
- 29:17Speaker 4: for it. Take her down in the costume.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I'm just imagining coming home with like a bag and
- 29:25Speaker 2: it has like a CVS bag and it's got like
- 29:28Speaker 2: like condoms and loub in it.
- 29:30Speaker 5: And you look at her.
- 29:31Speaker 2: She looks at you as you fantasize and lick one
- 29:34Speaker 2: another's lips.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Somebody goes Garfield Nody, She's like yeah.
- 29:38Speaker 2: And then y'all go in the bathroom. Do you think
- 29:41Speaker 2: the bedroom or whatever? The litter box? However, y'all get
- 29:44Speaker 2: down whatever you into work.
- 29:47Speaker 3: First of all, it's between two consenting adults behind closed doors.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Nobody has to know.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Unless you want some freaky shit and you want to
- 29:57Speaker 3: tape it or something and watch it back.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Hey, I'm not judging.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Watch it together, get nasty in and then delete it.
- 30:06Speaker 5: We liked the idea of eating them cats.
- 30:08Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. Just like, try new things,
- 30:12Speaker 3: don't be afraid to try new things in the bedroom,
- 30:15Speaker 3: but always make sure that it's consented between two adults.
- 30:20Speaker 4: That's all that I.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Ask, because y'all be nasty, freaky and possessive.
- 30:24Speaker 5: Nasty ass is good.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Doing all that, all right? So my last one, y'all,
- 30:32Speaker 3: when I got this, I could not get through it.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I was cracking up. I'm going to try to get
- 30:39Speaker 3: through it today, all right. The subject line reads bail money.
- 30:44Speaker 5: So that's all.
- 30:46Speaker 10: You need?
- 30:49Speaker 5: Okay, I need something stronger than water.
- 30:54Speaker 6: Needs lyric.
- 30:56Speaker 3: First of all, Hey boo, I'm from DC and I
- 31:00Speaker 3: listening to the show and whatever. You to help me
- 31:03Speaker 3: figure out if I'm gonna have to beat this nigga's ass.
- 31:06Speaker 4: Or no, because he playing with me and I hate
- 31:09Speaker 4: that for him. Okay.
- 31:11Speaker 3: So my man left for work this morning. He worked
- 31:14Speaker 3: Metro like shit, getting that money young and I got
- 31:18Speaker 3: up like thirty minutes after. So I was getting my
- 31:22Speaker 3: clothes off the floor beside the bed, and I noticed
- 31:25Speaker 3: an open and empty condom wrapper or got he's playing
- 31:29Speaker 3: Russian Rouette with me? Or not Bookie?
- 31:32Speaker 4: But who boyfriend?
- 31:33Speaker 11: Who?
- 31:33Speaker 4: Whose boyfriend claimed he hates condoms? So meing me?
- 31:38Speaker 3: I checked his night stand and I found the box.
- 31:41Speaker 4: I got him Bookie, but the same as the.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Rapper I found. It's a ten pack and there's floor
- 31:48Speaker 3: left in it. I got them for him because I
- 31:51Speaker 3: just started my birth control and bitch, I ain't.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Got no time to be nobody's baby mother food.
- 31:58Speaker 3: But we've been together two years and have a bomb
- 32:05Speaker 3: ass relationship and he has never given me a reason
- 32:09Speaker 3: to feel like he got another bitch. I was about
- 32:12Speaker 3: to send him a picture of it this morning, like
- 32:15Speaker 3: what the fuck is this? But I thought I should
- 32:17Speaker 3: ask him in person. Whole time. He knows I've been
- 32:20Speaker 3: cheated on before in previous relationships, and so called ben
- 32:25Speaker 3: jall like working with me through my trust issues.
- 32:29Speaker 4: But that after I saw was in plain sights.
- 32:32Speaker 3: So yeah, I need bail money or no, because I'm
- 32:35Speaker 3: two seconds from crashing the fuck out.
- 32:38Speaker 2: First off, I love the way this had to be
- 32:42Speaker 2: written by gen Zre because there's a certain type of
- 32:45Speaker 2: way that they talk.
- 32:47Speaker 7: That said, he actual whatever, like whatever.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Yes, exactly how I write it, It's exactly how it's type.
- 32:59Speaker 5: I love it. I love gen z.
- 33:01Speaker 3: It took me a whole ten minutes to stop laughing.
- 33:06Speaker 2: That that's hilarious up boomy.
- 33:11Speaker 5: But hold on, let's stop there.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Does that mean he has like a shitty ass, and
- 33:17Speaker 3: then you know it's a term of it, it's a
- 33:20Speaker 3: term of endearment.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Oh, I thought you know what that was going.
- 33:25Speaker 5: That means different.
- 33:30Speaker 6: Just about okay, but yes, because we.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Don't we don't dear one another with Bookie, but.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Because say dookie, but I'm just saying it's all.
- 33:45Speaker 5: That's awful. Cue just uh.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Okay, y'all, let me get to her advice. So all right, Oh,
- 33:57Speaker 3: I see she put a p S. I was with
- 33:59Speaker 3: him weekend, so I don't know what this is about.
- 34:02Speaker 6: Okay, So.
- 34:05Speaker 4: This is what it is.
- 34:07Speaker 3: If them giants is missing, surety mm hmm. And you
- 34:14Speaker 3: know you don't use them, somebody used them. I would
- 34:21Speaker 3: definitely ask about it. But do not go to jail.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Do not you know, damage your.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Stuff and do all of that stuff.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Don't crash out like y'all youngests be saying, don't crash
- 34:33Speaker 3: out on him, because it's never that serious. If you
- 34:37Speaker 3: feel as though your significant other is cheating.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Just leave.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Leave. I wouldn't even say nothing, just leave.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Wow. Wow, I wouldn't recommend not.
- 34:53Speaker 4: And then if you send him a picture of that
- 34:55Speaker 4: and they'd be like, what's this?
- 34:58Speaker 5: Hm?
- 34:59Speaker 6: I said, want that response, same purpose?
- 35:00Speaker 5: What was it left in the hallway? Reason?
- 35:08Speaker 3: Definitely going on, because baby, if you don't use condoms
- 35:12Speaker 3: and you bought him some and he say they're uncomfortable
- 35:14Speaker 3: for him and he don't like them, and all of
- 35:16Speaker 3: a sudden, there is only four left in a ten
- 35:19Speaker 3: act baby, six times? Six times?
- 35:26Speaker 7: I was gonna ask because did she ever specify? Because
- 35:30Speaker 7: she said she bought them because she was on birth control,
- 35:33Speaker 7: which gave me an impression that they possibly used some
- 35:35Speaker 7: of them, possibly because if they're still actually active and
- 35:40Speaker 7: she's not trying to get pregnant.
- 35:41Speaker 3: She said they refuse. He refused to use uncomfortable, so
- 35:46Speaker 3: there still should be ten of the pay.
- 35:49Speaker 7: See, this is why it is hard when you when
- 35:51Speaker 7: you like you said, you have to read it multiple
- 35:53Speaker 7: times because you laughing through it.
- 35:54Speaker 6: I'm laughing through telling all the beats.
- 35:57Speaker 3: But okay, yeah, it's only flow left. So and one
- 36:02Speaker 3: was one was on the flow and it was empty.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Cham sound like to me?
- 36:12Speaker 5: Mm hmmm, got you?
- 36:15Speaker 6: I n g mm hmm mm hmmm.
- 36:24Speaker 4: But let's let me tell you something.
- 36:25Speaker 3: And nobody on God's green Earth worth your freedom.
- 36:33Speaker 5: Okay, no, but definitely.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Give it for two years, and two years may feel
- 36:43Speaker 3: like a long time, But baby, somebody, there's somebody is
- 36:47Speaker 3: out there that will love you for foe and will
- 36:52Speaker 3: love you correctly the right way, without you know, being
- 36:56Speaker 3: disrespecting to you by you and doing all this other
- 37:04Speaker 3: stuff and not being monogamous. Like no, it's cliche to
- 37:09Speaker 3: say this other fishing to see, but there literally is.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Go find somebody else. But before you do, let me
- 37:16Speaker 3: tell you one thing, because this is what people tend
- 37:18Speaker 3: to do when they get out of relationships. They want
- 37:21Speaker 3: to jump in the next one real quick. No, let's
- 37:24Speaker 3: not do that. We're not doing that today, on no day.
- 37:29Speaker 3: We're gonna work on ourselves first. So if you end
- 37:33Speaker 3: up leaving him, I.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Want you to work on you. I want you to
- 37:37Speaker 4: date yourself.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Take some time to get to know yourself so you
- 37:41Speaker 3: know what to accept and what not to accept. You'll
- 37:46Speaker 3: be able to recognize those red flags and you won't
- 37:49Speaker 3: go into your next relationship unhealed and expecting somebody else
- 37:53Speaker 3: to heal that trauma for you.
- 37:54Speaker 4: That's not the way it works.
- 37:57Speaker 3: That's my advice to you. I think thank you guys
- 38:00Speaker 3: continuously for sending me You're hilarious and sometimes part felt
- 38:07Speaker 3: advice questions. Please keep sending them to me at Larry
- 38:11Speaker 3: Provider at gmail dot com and I will catch you
- 38:13Speaker 3: next week.

- 38:22Speaker 5: I'm putting the disclaimer out there now, my TV MSNBC
- 38:27Speaker 5: all week. Don't know what the nigs is nigging, but
- 38:31Speaker 5: I did look at a couple of things.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Either way, Larry got my back with it, and I'm
- 38:36Speaker 2: sure Eddie got a few things himself.
- 38:38Speaker 5: So I'm next trolling the timeline.
- 38:40Speaker 6: I'll be right back. Combla hair, need to go back
- 38:43Speaker 6: in the kitchen, put an apron on and cook.
- 38:46Speaker 11: So, my fellow black man, I think it's time that
- 38:48Speaker 11: we had a conversation because you know what, I'm.
- 38:50Speaker 12: Sick of y'all.
- 38:51Speaker 11: Now, keep in mind, when I say black man, I'm
- 38:53Speaker 11: not talking about all black men. So if this don't
- 38:55Speaker 11: pertain to you, don't get offended. But if I'm talking
- 38:58Speaker 11: to you, yeah, I'm talking to you, brothers. I just
- 39:00Speaker 11: got to ask a question. Do you like black women?
- 39:04Speaker 12: Like for real? Do you like black women?
- 39:06Speaker 11: Do you like the feminine, melanated female species from which
- 39:13Speaker 11: you've color from.
- 39:14Speaker 12: Do you like them?
- 39:15Speaker 11: I know society has failed us time and time again
- 39:17Speaker 11: and fed.
- 39:18Speaker 12: Us a big warm bowl of bs.
- 39:20Speaker 11: But to go out and have so much energy to
- 39:23Speaker 11: disrespect a system that's foul.
- 39:26Speaker 12: So I hear some of y'all say, well, I don't
- 39:28Speaker 12: know too much about it.
- 39:29Speaker 11: I don't know her policies, you know, I question her
- 39:32Speaker 11: motives and all this kind of stuff.
- 39:34Speaker 12: Brother, have you heard of Google?
- 39:36Speaker 11: But since your fingers don't work, I'm gonna just help
- 39:38Speaker 11: you out a little big and tell you a couple
- 39:39Speaker 11: of her policies. First of all, she is proposing a
- 39:42Speaker 11: middle class tax cut, which would include a five thousand
- 39:46Speaker 11: dollars child tax credit, the first time in history of
- 39:48Speaker 11: child tax credit has ever been that much. Also, a
- 39:51Speaker 11: six thousand dollars savings to the Affordable Care Act healthcare premiums.
- 39:55Speaker 12: That means when you go to the doctor.
- 39:58Speaker 11: Well, never mind, y'all, don't go to the doctor, but
- 40:00Speaker 11: if you did, you would save a lot of money.
- 40:02Speaker 12: But what about this one, brothers? You know a lot
- 40:03Speaker 12: of us go to the grocery store.
- 40:05Speaker 11: You know those Captain Crunch serial that you like you
- 40:07Speaker 11: can't even afford to get the crunch barriers because Siria
- 40:10Speaker 11: is so high.
- 40:10Speaker 12: You can't even get the fruity pebbles.
- 40:12Speaker 11: You got to get the generic fruity crisp because the
- 40:15Speaker 11: groceries are too high. Well, Vice President Harris is proposing
- 40:18Speaker 11: the first time ever a ban on price gouging of
- 40:21Speaker 11: food and groceries. I think that helps you out doing
- 40:23Speaker 11: the brothers. And last of brothers, all of us are fathers,
- 40:26Speaker 11: or most of us. We have sons. We have daughters
- 40:29Speaker 11: who we hope and dream one day will go off
- 40:31Speaker 11: to college. But what if that college that they go
- 40:33Speaker 11: to sent you a tuition bill in a mail saying
- 40:35Speaker 11: that you had to pay this by Friday, and that
- 40:37Speaker 11: tuition bill is ten thousand, twenty thousand, thirty thousand dollars
- 40:41Speaker 11: a year.
- 40:41Speaker 12: Would you be able to just stroke a check and
- 40:43Speaker 12: pay for that flat out?
- 40:45Speaker 11: Probably not, But thank goodness, we have the US Department
- 40:48Speaker 11: of Education that helps our students of color fund their
- 40:51Speaker 11: education through programs like the PEL Grant, through work study,
- 40:55Speaker 11: through even federal student loans that are affordable repayment plans
- 40:59Speaker 11: that all funded through the US Department of Education. But
- 41:02Speaker 11: that Orange guy you support. Yeah, he wants to do
- 41:04Speaker 11: away with the Department of Education. So what happens to
- 41:08Speaker 11: the loans? What happens to all these student aid programs?
- 41:11Speaker 11: They go to the private banks, those same private banks
- 41:14Speaker 11: that were guilty of predatory lenning, those same private banks
- 41:17Speaker 11: that refuse to lend money to people of color, those
- 41:21Speaker 11: same private banks that cause the housing collapse. You want
- 41:25Speaker 11: them a charge of funding your child's education.
- 41:28Speaker 12: Bruh.
- 41:29Speaker 11: So, brothers, I'm just saying all this because I love you,
- 41:31Speaker 11: and the way we disrespect black women has got to stop.
- 41:35Speaker 11: The way that we disrespect Vice President Harris has got
- 41:37Speaker 11: to stop. If you want to vote for the Orange dude,
- 41:39Speaker 11: that's your business. But just keep in mind. Remember the
- 41:42Speaker 11: Central Park five, who are now the exonerated five. This
- 41:45Speaker 11: man put out a full page adde to The New
- 41:47Speaker 11: York Times calling for their death. This is the same
- 41:50Speaker 11: Orange guy that wants to give full immunity to police officers.
- 41:54Speaker 11: That's the guy you support. So, brothers, whoever hurt you,
- 41:56Speaker 11: whoever didn't give you enough love, whoever didn't give you
- 41:59Speaker 11: the attention that you think you needed, Brothers, I'm sorry,
- 42:03Speaker 11: but what you need to do is go get heal
- 42:04Speaker 11: from that.
- 42:05Speaker 12: This toxic male masculinity has got to stop. Go get here,
- 42:09Speaker 12: go heal yourself.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Well, all right, we back, yes.
- 42:18Speaker 5: Right here on w r T. Don't know what that was.
- 42:23Speaker 5: It's time to troll the timeline and get into this mass.
- 42:28Speaker 2: We go because it has been a week and the
- 42:31Speaker 2: only thing that I've seen Nigga wise has been if
- 42:35Speaker 2: it ain't been Kamala, it's been BT Awards.
- 42:39Speaker 5: T E b T the E B T Awards? Did
- 42:43Speaker 5: you watch them? Listen?
- 42:47Speaker 2: So I stopped watching awards shows on b E T after. Okay,
- 42:53Speaker 2: So because we have a pop culture show, it kind
- 42:56Speaker 2: of makes me feel awkward sometimes. To win, I got
- 43:00Speaker 2: to go in on black people and usually when I'm
- 43:04Speaker 2: watching be e T is when that moment hits.
- 43:06Speaker 5: It'd be like, I need to say something about that.
- 43:10Speaker 2: And I try to make this show as much about
- 43:14Speaker 2: uplifting black people as I can.
- 43:18Speaker 5: You know, I mean, it is what it is. But
- 43:25Speaker 5: I did see b E T.
- 43:27Speaker 2: I saw the I saw the headlines more more about Kendrick, honestly,
- 43:33Speaker 2: and him winning.
- 43:34Speaker 5: What is the eight.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Let's see Kendrick Lamar and Future Wow metro Booming. They
- 43:43Speaker 2: win the they won the twenty twenty four be Et
- 43:46Speaker 2: Hip Hop Award for Best Collaboration. So as I was
- 43:49Speaker 2: reading this, I was thinking about Drake. Okay, I was
- 43:53Speaker 2: thinking about Drake and they not like us.
- 43:59Speaker 13: You thought.
- 44:02Speaker 2: I could not stop laughing because I'm like and he
- 44:05Speaker 2: won an award. So you just got through a whole
- 44:08Speaker 2: summer where everybody was calling you vbl Jersey, everybody talking
- 44:13Speaker 2: about how you like kids and pointing at you. Yes,
- 44:22Speaker 2: you walk in the convenience store, You're just trying to
- 44:24Speaker 2: get your hot dog from seven to eleven, somebody walked
- 44:26Speaker 2: by you, a minor Like, I mean, like, just had
- 44:31Speaker 2: a fucked up as summer to then double down with
- 44:35Speaker 2: this award.
- 44:36Speaker 5: Wow, So the herd.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Line says, last night's twenty twenty four BT Awards was
- 44:42Speaker 2: a star studded celebration of black excellence and music, film
- 44:45Speaker 2: and sports. Here are some of the biggest winners you
- 44:48Speaker 2: can chat about.
- 44:50Speaker 5: Let's see Scizzor.
- 44:54Speaker 2: She snagged the award for Best Female R and B
- 44:57Speaker 2: Pop Artists, solidifying her place the music scene.
- 45:01Speaker 5: Usher got an award.
- 45:03Speaker 2: The trio with ty Dollas signed them They got an
- 45:06Speaker 2: award for Carnival. Nicki Minaj dominated the hip hop categories,
- 45:11Speaker 2: winning Best Female hip Hop Artists, Which how did you
- 45:15Speaker 2: hear her latest And I think we talked about.
- 45:17Speaker 5: This, didn't we? Lyric who Nicki Minaj?
- 45:21Speaker 2: I think we talked about her last album man or
- 45:24Speaker 2: well her disc track.
- 45:25Speaker 5: And I mean, you're making that face. But she straking
- 45:30Speaker 5: up awards for this bullshit she won. Let's see that
- 45:35Speaker 5: female hip hop She won Best Female hip Hop Artists
- 45:38Speaker 5: and contributing to the Video of the Year for Barbie World.
- 45:42Speaker 5: First off, I'm so sick of hearing about Barbie and
- 45:44Speaker 5: her and this pink shit girl. Grow up.
- 45:48Speaker 3: First of all, how many many other how many other
- 45:53Speaker 3: female hip hop artists have came out with albums.
- 46:00Speaker 5: Exactly why is she.
- 46:02Speaker 3: The only one who's winning all these awards for what
- 46:07Speaker 3: you literally just came out like a couple of months ago.
- 46:10Speaker 7: Why that's a very good point, though, Yes, because they're
- 46:14Speaker 7: looking at the whole last year.
- 46:16Speaker 4: I don't understand that.
- 46:18Speaker 5: Huh.
- 46:20Speaker 3: That's why E side E because I'm like, Okay, yes,
- 46:24Speaker 3: she's done what she's done for hip hop, but she's
- 46:27Speaker 3: not the only female rapper.
- 46:29Speaker 6: Though.
- 46:30Speaker 3: You gotta start giving flowers to these other girls, and
- 46:33Speaker 3: then it's like when she doesn't get them. It's a
- 46:36Speaker 3: problem with her.
- 46:37Speaker 2: In the barbs it is, it really is, and that's
- 46:41Speaker 2: that's what I think it is. Mostly it's the barbs
- 46:43Speaker 2: and the bullying and the bullshit that comes with all of.
- 46:45Speaker 6: That politics money.
- 46:48Speaker 5: It was never like that.
- 46:50Speaker 3: In the nineties we were able to see so many
- 46:54Speaker 3: female hip hop artists collab. Everybody was winning her ward
- 47:00Speaker 3: rewards respectfully, it was not.
- 47:04Speaker 7: It wasn't on the same little Kim and Foxy on
- 47:09Speaker 7: the same magazine covers.
- 47:10Speaker 3: I mean right, I mean then they had their little
- 47:14Speaker 3: or whatever what I'm saying.
- 47:15Speaker 4: But there it was only one person allowed to be
- 47:21Speaker 4: and everybody else is treated.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Like I don't like that, but like that in the
- 47:28Speaker 3: male part of of of hip hop, why.
- 47:33Speaker 4: I hate it. I hate it.
- 47:38Speaker 7: I thank god that the Viacom has them right still,
- 47:43Speaker 7: I think so every time I look up or think
- 47:46Speaker 7: something wrong about B E T.
- 47:47Speaker 6: I blame Viacom.
- 47:51Speaker 7: Every time I was like, this wasn't just niggas is involved,
- 47:57Speaker 7: but but no, I feel you. I feel you you
- 48:00Speaker 7: and and uh much like what you said. And I'm
- 48:02Speaker 7: sorry I'll jumped out in it, but yeah, I haven't.
- 48:05Speaker 7: I haven't paid no attention to an awards. So, man,
- 48:07Speaker 7: I'm almost forty six years old, and last time I
- 48:09Speaker 7: watched them faithfully, I was in undergrad. That was the
- 48:12Speaker 7: late nineties, and I've watched a few here and there
- 48:14Speaker 7: after that. It's just it's, honestly, it's just kind of
- 48:16Speaker 7: like not my thing for a number of reasons. I
- 48:20Speaker 7: just especially now with social media, same with like the
- 48:22Speaker 7: Academy Awards and all of that.
- 48:23Speaker 6: Right, I'm gonna see so much on social media.
- 48:25Speaker 7: I ain't got to watch two three hours of that
- 48:28Speaker 7: and half that I don't want to watch.
- 48:29Speaker 6: In their commercials, I'm gonna catch the highlights from y'all get.
- 48:35Speaker 5: Some of them.
- 48:36Speaker 4: You already know who's gonna win, so that who they
- 48:40Speaker 4: gonna give it that.
- 48:42Speaker 5: It's that for me.
- 48:42Speaker 2: But it's then it's also like the whole award show bantership.
- 48:46Speaker 5: I hate that.
- 48:47Speaker 2: I hate the fact that you know, they have them
- 48:49Speaker 2: do these weird ass sketches and it's like, yeah, answer
- 48:53Speaker 2: back and forth, and I've never been a fan of that.
- 48:56Speaker 2: We need to stop having Taraji host everything, oh, because
- 49:01Speaker 2: I mean, I love Taragi. I do you know, I do?
- 49:04Speaker 2: I love Taraji, but they need to like stop this. Yeah, like,
- 49:10Speaker 2: there's plenty of up and coming talents to where we
- 49:14Speaker 2: don't have to do what white America does or white
- 49:16Speaker 2: Hollywood rather does, and just double down on all of
- 49:19Speaker 2: these old people over and over and over.
- 49:21Speaker 6: Give some of these young.
- 49:22Speaker 2: People chances to develop and grow and get their name outs,
- 49:26Speaker 2: get to get their names out there. Speaking of which, Tyler,
- 49:29Speaker 2: she emerges Best New Artist. Victoria Monet received the BT
- 49:35Speaker 2: Her Awards for a powerful anthem on My Mama. Kendrick Lamar,
- 49:40Speaker 2: of course recognized as Best Male Hip Hop Artists, reaffirming
- 49:45Speaker 2: his status.
- 49:45Speaker 5: So lots going on at the EBT Awards.
- 49:51Speaker 6: I didn't know what she was saying, beas.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Why is she just now getting an award for a
- 49:58Speaker 3: song that was released last year?
- 50:01Speaker 2: Because Nikky bully that Now I'm kidding, I kid, because
- 50:06Speaker 2: mad damn stop it.
- 50:08Speaker 3: You see the fuck read that I'm talking about. All
- 50:10Speaker 3: my Mama was released in twenty.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Twenty three, really was, But you know, sleep they've been
- 50:17Speaker 2: sleeping on her for a minute.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Listen Victoria, And even though I don't like her, she's
- 50:26Speaker 3: not a new artist, So why does she get like
- 50:29Speaker 3: Outbreak Artists of.
- 50:30Speaker 4: The Year or some shit like for like longer than
- 50:33Speaker 4: two years.
- 50:34Speaker 2: I'm telling you, sexy Red is she's got to be
- 50:37Speaker 2: an industry plan.
- 50:39Speaker 5: Everything about her is so like just even her name
- 50:43Speaker 5: sexy Red, What what are we like? What is this
- 50:46Speaker 5: like a crayon and a and a boost? Like? What
- 50:50Speaker 5: is happening?
- 50:51Speaker 6: We could have been more than that. I'm just saying.
- 50:55Speaker 5: I mean, I don't understand.
- 50:56Speaker 2: It's just like sexy Red and then the pussy pink,
- 50:59Speaker 2: booty hole brown thing, and then she going to schools.
- 51:02Speaker 2: I'm not saying that she formed the song at a school,
- 51:04Speaker 2: but I remember like last year she was recognized and
- 51:08Speaker 2: she performed out of school.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Uh no, that said she couldn't go, She couldn't come in.
- 51:14Speaker 3: They wouldn't let her in.
- 51:15Speaker 5: But who whose idea was.
- 51:20Speaker 4: For anybody's school if it's not a college?
- 51:24Speaker 7: And that's what I was asking, That's exactly why I
- 51:26Speaker 7: was saying, ran my ass.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Up to that school.
- 51:30Speaker 5: This was not a college. This was not and.
- 51:34Speaker 6: I mean I know that the school should.
- 51:38Speaker 5: Be let's bring the booty whole brown girl.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Let's do that, like, let's get her the girl with
- 51:45Speaker 2: the line, you remember that lipstick line gone a rhea
- 51:49Speaker 2: sex on my period?
- 51:51Speaker 5: Discharged.
- 51:52Speaker 6: You know, I think sometimes.
- 51:59Speaker 3: About them, but this, this is my problem with these
- 52:02Speaker 3: award shows. These people aren't new. It's like we see
- 52:07Speaker 3: them everywhere for like years. Why are you giving them
- 52:12Speaker 3: these bullshit awards. It's like it's like a participation participation
- 52:17Speaker 3: award to me.
- 52:18Speaker 4: Like in sports. You're a little too late with that shit.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Like I feel like some of these girls should have
- 52:24Speaker 3: won one of the awards that Nikki got. Let's be clear,
- 52:27Speaker 3: their albums were out previously, they was getting bus it
- 52:32Speaker 3: was all over the radio, like y'all not even playing
- 52:34Speaker 3: fair with the ship. So who wants to fucking watch
- 52:37Speaker 3: that shit?
- 52:38Speaker 6: I don't I hear you. I hear you. I mean
- 52:41Speaker 6: I you know, and I think and you correct me
- 52:44Speaker 6: if you're wrong.
- 52:45Speaker 7: But I know, at least for me, I think about
- 52:47Speaker 7: it from an artist standpoint on some level two right,
- 52:50Speaker 7: and so it's it's why I feel like i've sony
- 52:54Speaker 7: and so much on what is obviously political, what is
- 52:58Speaker 7: obviously money, what is anything other than the art? Right,
- 53:04Speaker 7: because this is what we actually supposed to be there
- 53:06Speaker 7: to celebrate the art of the artists, not backing or
- 53:11Speaker 7: the deals. And of course they don't tell us all
- 53:13Speaker 7: of that, but the average person on the street, no,
- 53:16Speaker 7: you know, somebody knows somebody. But the other piece I
- 53:18Speaker 7: was just throwing the real quick is that one there's
- 53:22Speaker 7: already not enough spaces for us as black artists, right,
- 53:25Speaker 7: and we have a larger responsibility, I feel, to represent
- 53:29Speaker 7: as many of us to the best of our ability
- 53:33Speaker 7: as possible. And so that's all the more reason that
- 53:36Speaker 7: there really shouldn't be any there's even when you go
- 53:38Speaker 7: back to hosting, the idea of hosting and loves taragi,
- 53:42Speaker 7: but the idea of hosting that should be somebody new
- 53:45Speaker 7: every year.
- 53:45Speaker 6: That's easy many of us out there.
- 53:52Speaker 7: And then when I think about the impact that because
- 53:55Speaker 7: they know it too, the impact that one of those
- 53:58Speaker 7: new artists getting that award can you for their career,
- 54:02Speaker 7: versus somebody who's already set in the status, somebody who's
- 54:05Speaker 7: probably not showing up right, you know, it's come on,
- 54:11Speaker 7: come on, So I guess.
- 54:12Speaker 3: I bet come on Jesus okayping people who aren't getting
- 54:18Speaker 3: as much acknowledgement as they would like life. Jennings got
- 54:24Speaker 3: his ass on Instagram and was penty mad.
- 54:31Speaker 4: Tiny desk.
- 54:32Speaker 3: He says, I'm not sure everybody feels like that God
- 54:36Speaker 3: gave me real music. Last month, Tiny Dust told me
- 54:39Speaker 3: I wasn't a big enough celebrity for their show. So
- 54:43Speaker 3: shout outs to unfug for still believing in me. Now
- 54:49Speaker 3: all I don't have a time with what he said.
- 54:53Speaker 3: But what what the fuck is up with tiny dusks,
- 54:55Speaker 3: because let's be clear, I had to google some of
- 54:59Speaker 3: these artist that you have had on this Tiny backs.
- 55:02Speaker 3: You're not gonna.
- 55:06Speaker 5: Like that must be.
- 55:11Speaker 3: You know that I listened to that whole album straight through,
- 55:15Speaker 3: nothing but box.
- 55:16Speaker 4: You can't play with that man like that somebody out
- 55:21Speaker 4: there now.
- 55:22Speaker 3: But yeah, he did what he came in this.
- 55:26Speaker 7: I mean, they pulled out Shaka Khan, who I love
- 55:28Speaker 7: barely from Chicago Women's last time Shaka.
- 55:30Speaker 6: Did anything right.
- 55:32Speaker 7: And when that was done, I just happened to see
- 55:35Speaker 7: it recently, is what I'm saying. But yeah, once again
- 55:39Speaker 7: that opportunity to spread things around.
- 55:41Speaker 6: But then you know who you are thinking that now?
- 55:43Speaker 7: Now, the publisher head, the producer head, come on, and
- 55:46Speaker 7: it's not the decisions I would make, but I can
- 55:48Speaker 7: imagine the decision making process.
- 55:50Speaker 6: And there's somebody out there who just probably don't.
- 55:53Speaker 7: See it for him period, you know, And they might
- 55:58Speaker 7: not be a musician music officionado like I would. I
- 56:04Speaker 7: would unless if you ever saw me somewhere where I
- 56:07Speaker 7: was trying to judge musicians or whatever, knowing that I'm
- 56:09Speaker 7: not one professionally, I'm gonna have all smirks run across
- 56:13Speaker 7: the screen to let y'all know this is a complete joke.
- 56:15Speaker 7: I am not at but that person who's picking I
- 56:20Speaker 7: don't know who it is, but it uh, your your
- 56:23Speaker 7: point makes me think, you know, well, how tuned is
- 56:27Speaker 7: their ear?
- 56:28Speaker 6: How open minded are they about artists?
- 56:31Speaker 7: Do they have any issues with certain artists, certain types
- 56:36Speaker 7: of artists?
- 56:36Speaker 5: You know?
- 56:37Speaker 6: Because he might just honestly, it might.
- 56:38Speaker 7: Not be about him only he might just fit into
- 56:41Speaker 7: this whole other category of maybe too black in some perspects.
- 56:44Speaker 6: So maybe.
- 56:46Speaker 3: Y'all brought John He's bull headed ass raids hanging on
- 56:53Speaker 3: by a thread. Nothing wrong with wife Jennings being able
- 56:58Speaker 3: to do the tiny desk because us his fans were
- 57:01Speaker 3: sounding off in them comments.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Chat, Wait and what do they mean brads hanging on?
- 57:06Speaker 2: What happened? I got to google it?
- 57:17Speaker 14: Okay, you know what, I ain't trying to either way,
- 57:25Speaker 14: I wasn't trying to make no disclaimers for them or whatever.
- 57:28Speaker 6: But it's just.
- 57:31Speaker 7: Uh and and tell me about this lyric. I mean one,
- 57:35Speaker 7: I believe in speaking truth to power. I'm gonna always
- 57:39Speaker 7: tell my truth or displayed in some shape, form or fashion.
- 57:42Speaker 7: But I am very big, especially now he is somebody
- 57:46Speaker 7: that's in a whole nother stratosphere, right, several other stratospheres.
- 57:50Speaker 7: But one of my rules, and you may see me
- 57:53Speaker 7: post little thing every so often that talks about like
- 57:55Speaker 7: my kind of best business practices, and one of them
- 57:58Speaker 7: is not to disparage of the artists. And to some degree,
- 58:01Speaker 7: I also talk about this idea because I hate this
- 58:04Speaker 7: for my people, especially those of us who are still
- 58:06Speaker 7: trying to make it, that have our events, that have
- 58:09Speaker 7: our shows, and something doesn't go or somebody doesn't come,
- 58:12Speaker 7: or something doesn't pop, and now we're on social media
- 58:17Speaker 7: ranting and raving, and yeah, the screaky oil gets the grease,
- 58:21Speaker 7: but we ain't wheels. And I just feel like that
- 58:23Speaker 7: doesn't endear me to anybody. After that, it's like, oh,
- 58:28Speaker 7: so you just bitched amone because folks didn't support And
- 58:33Speaker 7: at the same time, keep in mind when you're doing
- 58:35Speaker 7: that you are, in a sense, almost knocking the people
- 58:38Speaker 7: who did support because you're so focused on who didn't support,
- 58:41Speaker 7: and you could have spend that time saying, hey.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Mama, thank you for being the only one in the audience.
- 58:46Speaker 7: But you know you want to get on and rant
- 58:48Speaker 7: and rape and then you want to write nothing to
- 58:50Speaker 7: pop off. But you know, I want to admit for
- 58:53Speaker 7: him being him. It's something that I will say. I
- 58:56Speaker 7: won't say is I think of as allowable, but I
- 58:59Speaker 7: will say his career can survive it and may even
- 59:03Speaker 7: pop because of it.
- 59:05Speaker 6: But somebody's on.
- 59:07Speaker 7: My level and some others, I would just say, don't
- 59:11Speaker 7: take that as an example in my opinion of what
- 59:15Speaker 7: to do.
- 59:16Speaker 3: But I also think it's not what you say, it's
- 59:19Speaker 3: how you say it. So young people will go to
- 59:24Speaker 3: the extreme in their statements. He kept it cute, you
- 59:27Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. He said, Oh no, I don't
- 59:29Speaker 3: think everybody feels that way. But unfortunately they don't feel
- 59:33Speaker 3: as though I'm a big enough celebrity for their platform.
- 59:35Speaker 4: There's nothing wrong with that.
- 59:37Speaker 3: That's what they said.
- 59:38Speaker 4: That's what they standing with. Staying that, However, he staying twenty.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Letting it be known that don't play with him. We
- 59:49Speaker 3: want to see him, so he might very well get
- 59:53Speaker 3: a tiny desk. We'll see tiny thing. Big ticke of
- 59:59Speaker 3: a the Basement made a big announcement.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: I heard he has a little one.
- 1:00:05Speaker 15: On the way, I heard, and an adorable little video
- 1:00:12Speaker 15: with him with his back turn you see some woman's
- 1:00:18Speaker 15: arms going in between.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: With cute little tiny baby shoes and then he turns
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: around and has I'm gonna be a dad shirt on,
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: which is so cute. So congratulations to Big Tigger. Yeah, Basement,
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: we need to bring that show back.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: Like that was a vibe.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: It really was. But speaking of having babies.
- 1:00:47Speaker 16: So there is a There was this wild study from
- 1:00:52Speaker 16: back in twenty twenty that basically said it drops some
- 1:00:57Speaker 16: knowledge on us about how women who give birth after
- 1:01:02Speaker 16: forty were more likely to live one hundred years.
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: So all these people, you know, because when.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: I initially heard the Big Tigger story, I was thinking,
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: fifty one.
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: You waited lot as it good there, bruh.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: But then also I was just like, you know what,
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: I am seeing older parents nowadays, and I'm not mad
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: at it because if you look at the decisions the younger.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: Ones are making, do we really want them raising children.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: I mean, I'm not I mean, I'm not knocking for
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: everything that they do. You know, I'm playing, But I'm
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: saying like a lot of the decisions that are made
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: and even made in.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Some of our own up brings, could possibly have been
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: different decisions if there were it was a little bit
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: more seasoning behind that experience, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: So I just look at that.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: And you know, I'm not mad.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: I'm still I guess I'm on the fence with older
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: men that have babies with or older people, not even
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: older men, older people that have babies with the younger
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: like Marcus, like Michael, Michael Jordan's son, and that woman,
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: that grown ass, big titty woman like you know, it's
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: just it's ship like that kind of makes me. But
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: as far as raising kids and stuff, I would rather
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: people with some season and some age behind it, maybe
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: a few grades be out here telling the people what
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: you disagree.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: I disagree, because that's clear.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: Maturity does not have an age on it.
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: It doesn't. But you are the exception. You are the exception.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: You people that are over forty, over fifty that do
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: not make the right decision. Okay, whether it be financially, parenting,
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: whatever the case may be. Age don't have no limit.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Then on the flip side, there are responsible twenty something
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: starting something.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: You know what, people need to focus.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: On the age in totality, focus on period, and have
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: those characteristics already in you at whatever age you are.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: That's what I'm looking at, because child, there's dead beats young,
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: and there's dead beats oh period, and it goes across
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: the board.
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: Now, you got to talk about it a little bit earlier,
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: and I was telling him how it reminded me of
- 1:03:59Speaker 7: the story my dad. So when he had me, he
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: was like twenty one, but then he had my younger
- 1:04:07Speaker 7: brother who's thirteen years younger than me, and he was
- 1:04:08Speaker 7: like in his forties and he was he was somewhere
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: with my grandmother at my grandmother's house. He's dog tired,
- 1:04:15Speaker 7: he has my little brother. My little brother is climbing
- 1:04:17Speaker 7: all over his head. My dad is like half dead
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: in the chair and my grandmother was looking over him,
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: cracking up, and he was like, what's wrong, and he was.
- 1:04:24Speaker 7: She was like, you supposed to have him young, because
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: you got to be able to keep up with.
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: Him, and you got to be able to get on
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: the flow with.
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: Him, and I still won't say age that more, in
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: my opinion, speaks to vitality and energy so much like
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: you said, it's not about the number necessarily, but how
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: equipped you are in a sense of physicality, spirituality, mentality, emotionally.
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: But let's be planning new babies. How many of us,
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: how many of us were playing?
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: I wasn't exactly, I.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: See.
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: And I think that.
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: This thing with Tigger, I mean, you know, and when,
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: especially when I think about that age and I don't know,
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: like how old is the partner?
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: How I think I think she's younger than him, but
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: she's not, you know, right media for whatever reason O twenty,
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: I do think he's significantly younger than him, but I
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: know he's in his fifty sell so well, my point,
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: my point being though, is I had to think about
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: it when because to Marcus's point, okay, he's fifty and.
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: And and me, and yeah, we slow down in some respects,
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: and women y'all go up the older you get with
- 1:05:45Speaker 7: it comes to certain things sexually or what have you,
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: but child bearing age and we know that that has
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: fallen so far down for a while.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: So that's part of the reason I'm like, how old
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: is she?
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: Because if she was, like, if she's in her maybe,
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: oh Lyricy probably correct me on this, and she's in.
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: Her late twenties, then popping out.
- 1:06:04Speaker 7: Babies probably is just like, girl, you gotta be capful
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: because you could just catch anything and boom, you got
- 1:06:09Speaker 7: a baby. But in her mid thirties, for a lot
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: of women, it's a lot harder. So that makes me wonder, Okay,
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: was this a planned pregnancy? And that makes a difference
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: to me when it comes to how old he is.
- 1:06:22Speaker 7: You know what they're doing, what they're doing, and even
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: just the fact that I mean, ideally y'all gonna be
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: kind of setting my fifties and it's like, oh, well,
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: at that point, I ain't crawling out, no baby, I
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: got a name.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: That's true, And you know what and what I was saying,
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: I didn't say, like, you know, as far as age,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: like what I'm talking about it, I'm talking about the
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: experience behind it. And there are certain things that own
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: there are certain experiences that only your age can give you.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Talking personally, I mean like my sister and I grew
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: up in the same house, were raised by the same
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: two people, but her experience in mind, are completely different,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: given that were thirteen years apart. There's just a different
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: level of maturity that my parents had with her that
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: they did not me.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: That is my point.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: So when you're talking about children and yes, big Tigger
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: being fifty one and things, if he had a partner
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: that was around that age or something comfortable to it,
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: then it would make a little bit more sense to me.
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: Why you wait it out? But that's that man's business.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: I ain't got nothing to do with it, but I
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: will talk about say from that, speaking of you know,
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: people and children, Marlon Wayans clap back at Elon Musk
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: or disowning his trans daughter.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: He says, you heard about this, now you tell all right.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: So Marlon Wayans recently called out Elon Musk for the
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: way he's been treating his transgender child, and it's got
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: even more buzzing. Took to stand saying that as a parent,
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: you've got to support and love your kids no matter what. Now,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: for those of you that don't know Elon as a
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: trans daughter has come out about it, and you know
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: Elon being you know, super maga, ultra conservative, they do nothing.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: They don't want to hear anything. LGBTQ or I.
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: A none of that.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: Get your faggot shit out of here. We don't want
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: it in our white world. Like that's just out a feel.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: It is what it is, so.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: Let's see. Marlon pointed out that it is super important
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: for parents, especially someone with a huge platform like Elon,
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: to show love and acceptance, especially when it comes to
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: their kids' identities. Marlon's message was.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: All about promoting promoting understanding and respect, urging folks to
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: uplift their children instead of the throwing shade. And for
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: those of you that may not know or haven't listened
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: to the podcasts before, we've.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: Talked about Marlon and how he's very you know, been
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: very open about supporting his LGBTQ relatives. So I mean, yeah,
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: I do too, because you don't see it a lot
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: with black men.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: And I don't want to here we go. I'm not
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: shipping on black men or you know, anything of the sort. Right,
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: What I'm saying is that when it comes to experiences
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: with the lgbt qy, it's a lot more as a
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: lot more that have to be pushed in the direction
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: of acceptance versus those of you that embrace it the
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: way that Marlin has so gracefully.
- 1:09:45Speaker 7: And you know who I blame, the colonized, the colonized,
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: And here we go, let's go history.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: Boom, it is it is, this is oppressed people.
- 1:09:56Speaker 7: The African tribes. Go back to the African tribe, all right. Now,
- 1:10:01Speaker 7: they had different practices in different places. In some places
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: they threw away, in some places they did not deal
- 1:10:08Speaker 7: with our bin no children. But in most cases I
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: learned that that was never a thing when it came
- 1:10:15Speaker 7: to them in sexuality and gender, that was never ever
- 1:10:18Speaker 7: a thing. And those cultures and a lot of Native
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: American cultures, they celebrated those people because they said, oh
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: my god, you carry two spirits in you. They but
- 1:10:27Speaker 7: believe that you carried the spirit of the male and
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: the female, and that was an awesome thing. Those people
- 1:10:32Speaker 7: also were kind of like when we think about our
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: extended families and we have the aunts and uncles that
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: helped raise the children and that sort of thing.
- 1:10:38Speaker 6: They were very integral.
- 1:10:39Speaker 7: Part of society in a lot of cases. But when
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: good old King James his crew and the Bible he corrupted,
- 1:10:48Speaker 7: that's a whole other conversation came over in there and
- 1:10:51Speaker 7: started imposing all that stuff on us. And then a
- 1:10:54Speaker 7: piece I forgot about that I learned about today. You
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: had that period where when we were brought over as slaves,
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: where we were continuously bringing slaves over, right, so you
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: still had African influence from the motherland pumping in, so
- 1:11:07Speaker 7: we still retained certain things.
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: But then when the slave trade got cut off.
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: In America said fuck y'all were still keeping our slaves
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: because we can domesticate and breed them. We lost a lot.
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: We lost a lot, We lost a lot of morals,
- 1:11:22Speaker 7: values and that sort of thing. And I will say
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: that right now, and whoever want to, you know, fact
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: check me.
- 1:11:29Speaker 6: I ain't running for president.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: That that.
- 1:11:36Speaker 6: Okay, And he don't care if they do. He's still
- 1:11:38Speaker 6: don't lie.
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: But but yes, no, that that is something that I
- 1:11:43Speaker 7: really feel came with with the Imperial Nations, much like
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: the idea of the nuclear family. For them, it was
- 1:11:51Speaker 7: always this idea of mother father, uh you know, two
- 1:11:55Speaker 7: point three kids or whatever.
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: For us, it was always the extended family. Who has
- 1:11:59Speaker 6: three They came in and threw all our ship off.
- 1:12:02Speaker 7: You talk about the idea of interrupted history, uh, interrupted development.
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: I don't think this would have been the problem that
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: it is even on the African continent, because I mean
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: they're you know, we're talking about folks suspicion of being
- 1:12:16Speaker 7: gay and just disappearing.
- 1:12:19Speaker 6: Okay, I don't believe it was always that way. It
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: was not always Shirton wouldn't oh, all right to you?
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: These what else? You got?
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: A lyrics? Like I said, MSNBC has been my TV
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: and I'm not gonna bore you all with those dads.
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: So you got anything?
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: I did? Have one more thing and then you can
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: go ahead and continue on.
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: Let's see.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Love Island star Hannah Smith was arrested for threatened to
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: kill a police officer and a racist rint. Her attorney
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: this memory of telling.
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: The officers I don't recall.
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: And that she can't wait to kill him or her
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: and their sister. This is h you guys, bitch. I
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: can't wait to kill you, you dumb ass, ugly bitch, because
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: you're fucking fat and they love us skinny bitches. Because
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: you're fucking black and I hate black bitches. So I
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: can't wait to kill you and your sister, you dumb
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: ass bitchoy dragon.
- 1:13:38Speaker 17: Yeah, yeah right, Hi, everyone, I want to just take
- 1:13:46Speaker 17: a moment to address the recent events that took place
- 1:13:50Speaker 17: at the concert I attended in Atlanta.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: I deeply regret the circumstances that thirty I understand the
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: impact and the severity of my actions and words, and
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: I'm deeply sorry. I take responsibility for and I apologize
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: to all of those who were affected by my behavior, Gods,
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: community whom I insulted and disrespected my God. And there's more,
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: but we don't have time, so I'm just gonna come
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: this all up and see a big fuck you bitch
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: to yourself. We don't accept you said what you said,
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: So stand on that ship.
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: Mm hmm, there you go, misshanded.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: That was anyway, so please, that was not heartfelts. There
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: was no sincerity in that. Just like you said, that
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: was nothing but a planned p R.
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: So you can conte probably something.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: Reality shows and whatever have you. My girl, Now you
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: say it what you say, we go and make you
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: stand on that ship.
- 1:15:10Speaker 5: Oh, there you go, and that's it.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: That's all I think that we have successively told the
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: timeline this week on w r TR Real Talk Radio.
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: Up next, I am talking to Eddie p We actually
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: both are, but you know, I'm bringing back my Ino
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: biz segment because you know, you know, I haven't done
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: that for a while.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: You know, you guys that have been w R t
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: R for a while, y'all know that segment. It's back
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: like they're bumping.
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: Your lips.
- 1:15:39Speaker 18: Kamala aris when you're saying people are going to come
- 1:15:42Speaker 18: and live in your your home. I think so people
- 1:15:46Speaker 18: are gonna come and live in like in your home
- 1:15:48Speaker 18: for example, that people would come and live in your house.
- 1:15:51Speaker 19: Yeah, because you have all these immigrants, They're.
- 1:15:53Speaker 18: Just gonna come start living in your house.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: I don't know how they do that, because they already
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: do it in other states, like in New.
- 1:15:59Speaker 18: York, and then the people have to leave.
- 1:16:01Speaker 19: No, people still say that if they want so.
- 1:16:03Speaker 18: It's their house. Immigrants come and live and then they
- 1:16:06Speaker 18: all live together after that.
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: I guess.
- 1:16:08Speaker 18: So, I don't know how it works.
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: Not sure.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Number One, JD.
- 1:16:13Speaker 10: Vans and Donald Trump's spreading propaganda about immigrants while being
- 1:16:16Speaker 10: married to an immigrated having any losses immigrant is diabotically insitious.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: Number two.
- 1:16:21Speaker 10: Listening to that video illustrate the example of thinking deeply
- 1:16:25Speaker 10: about shallow shit and then drawing in your own understanding.
- 1:16:27Speaker 10: Number three, I know they trying and take it out
- 1:16:29Speaker 10: the history books. But do you know the people that
- 1:16:31Speaker 10: actually have to deal with foreigners coming and taking their land,
- 1:16:34Speaker 10: taking their homes.
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: Do you know who deal with that?
- 1:16:36Speaker 10: Number four Mark Robinson, the person that reference to the
- 1:16:39Speaker 10: sayings you support them. This man is running for governor
- 1:16:41Speaker 10: of North Carolina and has referred to himself as a
- 1:16:43Speaker 10: black yati. Number five, I'm founding more and more people
- 1:16:46Speaker 10: that look like me, that experien rytoric like that. Do
- 1:16:49Speaker 10: not let these folks trick you into being anti immigrant,
- 1:16:51Speaker 10: because as soon as they've done with them, they're gonna
- 1:16:53Speaker 10: be back on your ad.
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: Number six, A lot of y'all are not researching, y'all
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: conspiracy theory. Y'all are conclusion shopping.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: You're insane hypothesis and that's bad.
- 1:17:01Speaker 10: Number seven, y'all remember this little visual right here that
- 1:17:03Speaker 10: showed in Colorado. Remember this because a lot of people
- 1:17:06Speaker 10: getting bamboozooed and hoodwinked into bond into this old narrative.
- 1:17:09Speaker 10: And again, if you look like me, don't fall for
- 1:17:12Speaker 10: the okie.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Do with Marcus w RT are Real Talk Radio Marcus
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Smooth on Twitter.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Alrighty, we're live inside another edition of Eating Your Biz
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: on w r t R Real Talk Radio.
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: It's Shimo and Marcus at the mic.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: In this week, I get to talk with Eddie p
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: Our guest host today.
- 1:17:36Speaker 7: What it do, sir man, life is doing all the things,
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: and I'm just trying to hang on for the ride.
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: It's been pretty good. Lord knows, you frightened my day,
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: if it's okay to put it out there that you know.
- 1:17:50Speaker 7: I rolled over this morning and it was about four o'clock.
- 1:17:53Speaker 7: I said, oh lord, this is not when I'm supposed
- 1:17:54Speaker 7: to be woke. And I was tempted to reach for
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: my phone. I said, I'm not gonna do it.
- 1:17:57Speaker 6: I reached for it and there's Marcus.
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: Oh I mean to wake you. Okay, now you didn't you.
- 1:18:06Speaker 7: Please know my phone is on sitent. My phone has
- 1:18:09Speaker 7: been on site it for like fifteen years. Only when
- 1:18:13Speaker 7: my partner is out of the house and I'm here alone,
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: if he's out of town, is it on vibrate.
- 1:18:19Speaker 6: So nothing wakes me up. It's just that I rolled over.
- 1:18:21Speaker 6: I look, and you know, the composion to look at social.
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: Media, but look what it turned into exactly exactly.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: So for those of you that don't know, so, like
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: I said, earlier in the show. Eddie has been a
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: long time well a recent supporter of the show and
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: just all around good guys. Been promoting things. He's been
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: putting things out there for us, and I've learned a
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: lot about his brand, Rainbow Room Publishing.
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: LC.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: Wanted to make sure that it wasn't reading Rainbow or
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: any of the other ratchet things that j'all be saying.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: They butchered your uh they butcher your business name like
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: they butchered my last name.
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: So I get it.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Oo.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been Marcus, slut, smut all this.
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: Other stuff, so stop. It's been everything but my actual name.
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: So I get it.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: What that man said, tell us a little bit about
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: Lainbow Room Publishing.
- 1:19:13Speaker 7: Ah, So, Rainbow Room Publishing it is what I call
- 1:19:18Speaker 7: a hybrid of a traditional publishing house and a publishing service.
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: So the first being, you know, thank god Simon and Schuster, Penguin,
- 1:19:27Speaker 7: those big big names. That's well and not to say
- 1:19:31Speaker 7: that only those do that, but the company that would say, hey, Marcus,
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: we see you have a book.
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: We want to pay you for it.
- 1:19:38Speaker 7: We want to pay to do everything for you and
- 1:19:40Speaker 7: and write those big checks and whatnots. So in my case,
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: that's right check picking that person who that I see
- 1:19:50Speaker 7: or somehow we just whatever way it works that I
- 1:19:53Speaker 7: just say, hey, you know what, I'm gonna do this
- 1:19:55Speaker 7: one for free, and that's not be paying them anything,
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: but at the same time, it's saving them money because
- 1:20:02Speaker 7: then you look on my other side of what I say,
- 1:20:05Speaker 7: the other half being a publishing service, which is something
- 1:20:08Speaker 7: that I employed for my first two books, and it's
- 1:20:10Speaker 7: honestly kind of how I really got to have my
- 1:20:12Speaker 7: own company because I felt like there was a lot
- 1:20:14Speaker 7: of fluff. There was a lot of stuff I paid
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: for that I did not get or did not get
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: the full value of, and I was like, there's a
- 1:20:20Speaker 7: way to make this significantly cheaper. And I don't even
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: like that word cost effective because that the quality won't
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: be there. When I tell you, the quality is always
- 1:20:30Speaker 7: that my stuff looks because like anybody's stuff on the
- 1:20:33Speaker 7: bookshelf when you go into a Borders, if you can
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: even find what not of Porterstos have been closed.
- 1:20:37Speaker 6: The Barns and Noble, uh you know shelf.
- 1:20:41Speaker 7: So it's me providing opportunities for you know, all those
- 1:20:47Speaker 7: aspiring authors to publish the unpublished. Like I said, doing
- 1:20:52Speaker 7: my best large and a lot of respects to not
- 1:20:55Speaker 7: necessarily eliminate, but help to navigate the financial obstacles. It's
- 1:21:00Speaker 7: something that I've had to do obviously for thirteen years
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: because I hain'te.
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: Sitting up in no mansion right now.
- 1:21:07Speaker 5: So I've learned.
- 1:21:09Speaker 6: How to keep the overhead very low. So yeah, so
- 1:21:12Speaker 6: that's that's pretty much it excellent, excellent.
- 1:21:15Speaker 5: So as a person that is currently writing a book me,
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: you know, and for yeah, a little known fact, it's
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: in the works, and I don't, okay now that I'll
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: put it out there. It's out there, but I don't
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: like I just.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: I guess I don't want the anxiety of people constantly
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: asking me.
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: So, how's the book? So, how's the book? How's the book?
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: So I just I've kind of kept my writing on
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: the low because it comes in, you know, spurts. But
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: either way, that being said, it kind of brought to
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: me the question that I kind of wanted to ask you,
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: as a publisher and your process, can you walk us
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: through like the typical process of publishing a book from
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: like acquisition to distribution, you know, how does it usually work?
- 1:21:59Speaker 7: So and this is perfect beause it allows me to
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: kind of run the gamut of the services and that
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: sort of thing.
- 1:22:05Speaker 6: So yes, I've been doing a little while.
- 1:22:15Speaker 7: So ideally the person sees me the website whatever, and
- 1:22:19Speaker 7: we'll put it out there now and I know we'll
- 1:22:20Speaker 7: say it later. But if you find the name Eddie
- 1:22:22Speaker 7: s Peers, if you find Rango Wrong Publishing, I'm so bad.
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: Now you can google me, baby, You're gonna find I'm
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: a pop up and all of them are gonna lead
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: you to the website. But you get to the website,
- 1:22:33Speaker 7: and ideally, and that's why I send people when they,
- 1:22:35Speaker 7: you know, have some of these different questions, because I
- 1:22:38Speaker 7: purposely made a contact form that is a short way
- 1:22:41Speaker 7: for people to give me an idea of what their
- 1:22:44Speaker 7: work is without sharing their work. Too many people have
- 1:22:47Speaker 7: done this over the years, where they sending people their
- 1:22:49Speaker 7: manuscripts and then you look up ten years later and
- 1:22:51Speaker 7: you want to argue with Eddie's Eddie Murphy whoever about
- 1:22:54Speaker 7: how they stole your story and whether that's true or not.
- 1:22:57Speaker 7: It will not happen with Eddie Pears and will not
- 1:22:59Speaker 7: happen with Rango wom function because I love comptely, but
- 1:23:02Speaker 7: in that contact form. You're telling me you know where
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: you are in the process of what you need, specifically
- 1:23:07Speaker 7: service wise, and then that goes to me. And like
- 1:23:10Speaker 7: I tell people, even if I have an hour long
- 1:23:11Speaker 7: conversation with you, I need that in print because my
- 1:23:15Speaker 7: hours can be so crazy. I can look up at
- 1:23:16Speaker 7: three o'clock and say I want to work on something.
- 1:23:18Speaker 7: I can't call you, I can't text you, and I
- 1:23:20Speaker 7: have everything there. It also serves the purpose of you
- 1:23:23Speaker 7: starting to talk about your developing your elevator speech. If
- 1:23:27Speaker 7: you can't tell me what story is about, you can't
- 1:23:28Speaker 7: tell anybody else but my last piece of that last
- 1:23:34Speaker 7: piece of that and I both y'all can probably appreciate this.
- 1:23:36Speaker 6: You probably do this and don't think about it. I
- 1:23:38Speaker 6: didn't think about this until.
- 1:23:39Speaker 7: After I was using the form that a lot of
- 1:23:42Speaker 7: times when I'm working with people, there's always some initial
- 1:23:46Speaker 7: step that's really really simple, right, and if the person
- 1:23:50Speaker 7: can't won't do that, that's probably not somebody I need.
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: To work with.
- 1:23:54Speaker 7: Because baby, all I asked you to do was type
- 1:23:56Speaker 7: out of a couple of words. Now we got to
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: have more in depth conversations. If we are working together,
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: you got to sign contracts. You gotta know what you're reading.
- 1:24:04Speaker 6: You on some level gonna have to do your own
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: marketing of this.
- 1:24:08Speaker 7: And so if if it's you can't do that, aren't
- 1:24:11Speaker 7: willing to do that, then that's a good indicator for me,
- 1:24:14Speaker 7: regardless of how much I need the money, and I
- 1:24:16Speaker 7: do need my money, shoot all of that.
- 1:24:21Speaker 6: So they send me.
- 1:24:22Speaker 7: That I see it not even having in the website
- 1:24:25Speaker 7: that states, you know, you get a three thirty minute
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: consultation and we're gonna talk about how that's gonna change
- 1:24:30Speaker 7: from free, because baby, these folks will talk to you
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: for two hours by the book and never pull the plug,
- 1:24:34Speaker 7: and doctors and lawyers don't do that.
- 1:24:37Speaker 6: So that's another conversation to be had.
- 1:24:40Speaker 7: But you know, we have that consultation, we get some
- 1:24:43Speaker 7: more conversation about the work, and let's say, let's storytell
- 1:24:50Speaker 7: and go through the thing. So say this person comes
- 1:24:52Speaker 7: and they say, hey, I started something, but I haven't finished. Right,
- 1:24:55Speaker 7: So we got two options there. We have a writing coach.
- 1:24:59Speaker 7: This all falls on to what I call manuscript development. Right,
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: you got to make the manuscript, So you got the
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: writing coach you can work with who will help you
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: write it. You got the ghost writing folks who will
- 1:25:11Speaker 7: with some assistance, because you got to bring us something.
- 1:25:15Speaker 7: My first client, older gentlemen, I love to tell a
- 1:25:19Speaker 7: story that I'll keep it super short. He had four
- 1:25:22Speaker 7: audio recordings, okay, and now since then I know how
- 1:25:27Speaker 7: to turn that into dictation without us having to listen
- 1:25:30Speaker 7: and type it out. But I'm just saying that he
- 1:25:32Speaker 7: came to me with that. You can come leave with something,
- 1:25:34Speaker 7: and it better be typewritten. We're not decipher written, no handwriting,
- 1:25:37Speaker 7: and my handwrite is terrible and I can read it all,
- 1:25:39Speaker 7: but I'm you're not gonna pay me enough to do that,
- 1:25:41Speaker 7: trust me. And so now we've made the manuscript right,
- 1:25:47Speaker 7: So we moved into bucket number two, as I call it,
- 1:25:49Speaker 7: which is publishing and.
- 1:25:52Speaker 6: Production.
- 1:25:53Speaker 7: So this is okay, we take the manuscript. Now we're
- 1:25:56Speaker 7: talking about.
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: Editing the manuscript. You won't go and talk to hontail,
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: but we know what that means. We all got a
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: general sense of it. Then we look at the layout.
- 1:26:05Speaker 7: So you're typing the book on or the manuscript more
- 1:26:08Speaker 7: than likely on in eight and a half. I love
- 1:26:10Speaker 7: and page document. What would print out to be that size?
- 1:26:13Speaker 7: But your book will't necessarily be that size. Your book
- 1:26:16Speaker 7: will be small or most minor six by nine. So
- 1:26:19Speaker 7: we have to interior layout where we take everything and
- 1:26:22Speaker 7: it's not just please know, I tried it. It is
- 1:26:25Speaker 7: not just shrinking the text. It is so much more
- 1:26:29Speaker 7: than just shrinking the text to turn that into your
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: book will look like okay, So you actually give.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: People the opportunity to see and actually visualize like what
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: everything is, you know, how everything is going to lay out,
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: because I know I've heard stories in the past of
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: where authors have received their books and then there's this like, uh,
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: this isn't what I got, or you know, there's always
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: some kind of like publishing you know, error or something
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: that you hear about from so many different authors, and
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: I'm assuming that's not happening over Rainbow.
- 1:27:02Speaker 7: I know, and largely because I secondhand I've seen a
- 1:27:07Speaker 7: lot of that and I don't know.
- 1:27:10Speaker 6: It's just here's the thing, it's my name, it's my story.
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: I'm going to be involved in that process, especially if
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: I'm paying you true okay, I'm going to be involved
- 1:27:20Speaker 7: in that process. And if I'm not hearing something by
- 1:27:22Speaker 7: a certain amount of time, I'm asking, where is something
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: I can see to show me that you're working on
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: this and you're following in the direction that I want.
- 1:27:29Speaker 6: Now, the nature of what I'm doing with the folks
- 1:27:31Speaker 6: is we.
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: Have to have that communication and I'm going to take
- 1:27:34Speaker 7: it upon myself to send them stuff back and forth.
- 1:27:37Speaker 7: And the work will stop if I don't see responses,
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: because I'm not going to put all this effort into it.
- 1:27:42Speaker 7: And then later on you say that it's wrong and
- 1:27:45Speaker 7: we're not going to fight about the money.
- 1:27:47Speaker 6: So you just do your homework. Okay, that's what's up.
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: I like that, So.
- 1:27:55Speaker 7: The just wrapping it as quickly as I can. So
- 1:27:59Speaker 7: basically the production and publishing technically publishing connotation wise, it
- 1:28:05Speaker 7: means two things. It means that you've done the book,
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: but it also means circulation of the book. In this case,
- 1:28:09Speaker 7: we're talking about doing the book, which is why I
- 1:28:11Speaker 7: say publishing and production. So then you're looking at your cover.
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: Can be a lengthy process depending on how you do
- 1:28:18Speaker 7: it or what have you. But you just look at
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: book covers, you see how many different ways they can
- 1:28:23Speaker 7: come out, so you can imagine how many different processes
- 1:28:25Speaker 7: there are.
- 1:28:26Speaker 6: Then we have to marry those documents.
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: We have to make sure that wherever we take that
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: to print, that it will print correctly and everything will
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: be in the same shape that it needs to be in.
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: Pages are not longer than the cover, whords are not
- 1:28:39Speaker 7: spilling off the page or spilling down in the middle
- 1:28:41Speaker 7: where the spine meets. Even the idea of having them
- 1:28:44Speaker 7: know how many pages you have before you can make
- 1:28:47Speaker 7: the cover. You know, it's a lot of stuff that
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: I've been talking about throughout this whole process with everybody
- 1:28:51Speaker 7: about don't think about this yet, don't think about that yet,
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: because everything is driven by you haven't done the writing,
- 1:28:56Speaker 7: then all this stuff comes out.
- 1:28:59Speaker 6: It just naturally out.
- 1:29:01Speaker 7: So you got those two documents, You've identify who you're
- 1:29:04Speaker 7: printing with.
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: I recommend, even though.
- 1:29:06Speaker 7: I have some issues with Bezos, but there are a
- 1:29:09Speaker 7: lot of other places that do this. I recommend any
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: place that is print on demand, which means that you
- 1:29:14Speaker 7: can print as little as one book for that lovely
- 1:29:17Speaker 7: four dollars that they used to sell us back in
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: the day that if you bought fifty to one hundred bucks,
- 1:29:23Speaker 7: each book was you know, four dollars. So I recommend
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: doing something like that. That's typically what I do. It's
- 1:29:31Speaker 7: an awesome way when you think about managing your economy,
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: especially for those of us who's while it's aren't fat.
- 1:29:36Speaker 7: The idea that quick story I was, I was so
- 1:29:40Speaker 7: broke one time released, and I think it was my
- 1:29:41Speaker 7: third book. I couldn't print a copy for myself to
- 1:29:45Speaker 7: just have. When I had a pre sale, one of
- 1:29:48Speaker 7: my girls bought and nobody knew this was going on.
- 1:29:51Speaker 7: She bought it. I took that twenty bucks. I went
- 1:29:53Speaker 7: to Amazon, I said, girl, I need four. I gave
- 1:29:56Speaker 7: her the one. She paid her twenty dollars for it,
- 1:29:58Speaker 7: and I have three in my inventory that I can
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: sell for twenty a piece. And so we kind of
- 1:30:03Speaker 7: set up all of that. We set up a listing
- 1:30:05Speaker 7: and that sort of thing. So now the book is,
- 1:30:07Speaker 7: it's made, it's available for print, it's available for sale.
- 1:30:12Speaker 6: That moves you to the third.
- 1:30:14Speaker 7: Bucket and I can really sell this one that really big.
- 1:30:16Speaker 7: That's marketing and promotion. So that's the idea of trying
- 1:30:19Speaker 7: to get on a show like this, trying to get
- 1:30:20Speaker 7: somebody to read and write a review like you've worked.
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: On for me.
- 1:30:25Speaker 7: It's any number of other things that I do, even
- 1:30:28Speaker 7: including the idea of video interviews.
- 1:30:30Speaker 6: I've done that with clients as well. So you write
- 1:30:35Speaker 6: down through that whole thing.
- 1:30:36Speaker 7: And even when you get and this important thing to note,
- 1:30:39Speaker 7: and I tell people this all the time, even when
- 1:30:40Speaker 7: you get to that break between publishing and production and
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: then marketing and promotion, every book that I do, for
- 1:30:49Speaker 7: one thing, I'm throwing my whole heart and soul into it,
- 1:30:51Speaker 7: even if it's not mine and I'm getting paid because
- 1:30:53Speaker 7: one it's my name.
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: Of course, you get a bad burger from McDonald's, are
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: you going back?
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: No?
- 1:31:00Speaker 7: Not, And you're talking about top dollars. We're not talking
- 1:31:03Speaker 7: about combo meals here, Okay. So I tell them I'm
- 1:31:08Speaker 7: gonna do some minimal promotion just off the back. I'm
- 1:31:12Speaker 7: gonna do an announcement congratulations to my new client. I'm
- 1:31:17Speaker 7: gonna look up at some point in the year and
- 1:31:19Speaker 7: lick and those, Hey, it's your anniversary and I need
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: to be pubbing some anyway to get some clients in
- 1:31:24Speaker 7: happy anniversary markets.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: Smooth.
- 1:31:26Speaker 7: Come on, you know, the fifth anniversary of your book
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: being out and now you're New York.
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: Mess out right, So you keep that rapport, So you
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: keep that rapport up with your clients. That even afterwards
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: to see them along their way. And that's important because
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: it's far too often in today's world do we have
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: you know, like after people have your money, they then
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: stop caring about you and it's just like, okay, well yep,
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: that was flying, great, have a good day.
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: You don't see them anymore. So that is one of
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: the things that I really appreciate about your brand.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: You also have a podcast, Tell me the name and
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: describe your podcast and for fog words.
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: A good luck with that one. And I already lost
- 1:32:06Speaker 6: all five of those.
- 1:32:07Speaker 7: Our RP live the initials of the company, so Rainbow
- 1:32:11Speaker 7: Room Publishing Live. And I have to admit it's not
- 1:32:15Speaker 7: the conventional setup chest shit in the sense where you
- 1:32:18Speaker 7: all are doing it regularly. Is very not regimented, but structured.
- 1:32:23Speaker 7: It's what you expect when somebody says podcasts, you know,
- 1:32:26Speaker 7: you don't talk, don't have things and with mind, well okay,
- 1:32:32Speaker 7: see that.
- 1:32:32Speaker 6: Well I'm worse. I'm doing it with one wing. How
- 1:32:34Speaker 6: about that? So in my case, it maybe I'm going.
- 1:32:37Speaker 7: To the African American Museum of History and I'm taking
- 1:32:41Speaker 7: some photos and I'm taking some videos, and like I
- 1:32:44Speaker 7: showed you one time, I'm not always live, I mean,
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: and I make people know honestly when I need them
- 1:32:50Speaker 7: to know that I'm live and that we're going to
- 1:32:52Speaker 7: do actual interaction. So sometimes it is kind of like
- 1:32:55Speaker 7: that roving reporter. I actually kind of playfully did that once.
- 1:32:59Speaker 7: But it's you know, developing and get into that place
- 1:33:02Speaker 7: of being more continuous and being you know, more in
- 1:33:05Speaker 7: line with.
- 1:33:08Speaker 6: Your set up, you know, and that sort of thing.
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: I appreciate that. So we're wrapping up an edition of
- 1:33:16Speaker 5: In Your Biz here on w R t R. Eddie
- 1:33:19Speaker 5: is gonna keep up with the rest of the show. Correct, Yes,
- 1:33:22Speaker 5: I am awesome some sauce. So it's a lyric. You
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: want to do news making noses or real talk? Next?
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: You want to just jump into real talk.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: I know you got a mommying to do.
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: It's okay.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: I'm just listen. I'm cooking dinner, and so if you
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: hear a pop, it's just.
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: My instaire bop. I'm gonna ask questions what you cook?
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: Lies might have somebody in a minute.
- 1:33:53Speaker 5: All right, then we'll do the second half of the show.
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: Because somebody asked a question and I wanted to Yeah,
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: I want to answer their letter.
- 1:34:01Speaker 5: So we'll be right.
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: Back, all right.
- 1:34:04Speaker 20: They want to talk about the Ukrainians, God, all of
- 1:34:06Speaker 20: these Nazis, Well, let me tell you something. You can
- 1:34:08Speaker 20: find Nazis anywhere. You can find them right here in
- 1:34:11Speaker 20: the United States.
- 1:34:12Speaker 19: In fact, a bunch of.
- 1:34:13Speaker 20: The people that they're calling victims and prisoners of war
- 1:34:19Speaker 20: also known as convicted felons from January sixth.
- 1:34:22Speaker 19: So here's the point.
- 1:34:24Speaker 20: We have people in this chamber that are actually causing
- 1:34:29Speaker 20: just as much a threat, it's not more of a threat.
- 1:34:32Speaker 19: To our own country.
- 1:34:33Speaker 20: We should be talking about holding our very own accountable
- 1:34:37Speaker 20: for the misinformation and disinformation that they are spreading, whether
- 1:34:40Speaker 20: it's coming out of China, whether it's coming out of Russia,
- 1:34:44Speaker 20: or whoever's pedling it. It is a problem because right
- 1:34:47Speaker 20: now what we see is that people are dying and
- 1:34:50Speaker 20: we cannot get the support that we need from the
- 1:34:52Speaker 20: public because they continue to peddle lives. And I'm tired
- 1:34:56Speaker 20: of it, because I didn't come to this chamber to
- 1:34:58Speaker 20: play games.
- 1:34:59Speaker 19: I can't to this chamber to answer to.
- 1:35:01Speaker 20: The people, the American people, and to make sure that
- 1:35:04Speaker 20: we keep the American people safe. And if we don't
- 1:35:06Speaker 20: get something done, as they talk about the border. I
- 1:35:09Speaker 20: do want to be clear. The only reason we haven't
- 1:35:11Speaker 20: gotten funding for the border is because they killed the
- 1:35:14Speaker 20: House Republicans here killed the bill that they actually sent
- 1:35:18Speaker 20: us from the Senate side. If they want to do
- 1:35:21Speaker 20: some work, let me tell you something. The Democrats are ready,
- 1:35:23Speaker 20: and it seems like the Senate Republicans are ready to.
- 1:35:26Speaker 20: They just need to get to it and stop peddling
- 1:35:28Speaker 20: Putin's lives.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: Take us to word, take us up ago, take us
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: wherever you go.
- 1:35:33Speaker 12: WRTR Real Talk Radio.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: Back inside the second half of the show. Here on WRTR,
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: so Misster Learic got a letter from a lady named
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: Jessica Collins. She writes in She says, I hope this
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: message finds you both.
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: Well. My name is Jessica Collins and I'm an avid
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: listener of the WRTR Real Talk Radio Pocket. Why now
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: I'm playing, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Thank you so much,
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: Jesse h.
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: Thanks your chemistry and the way you tackle diverse topics,
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: especially around lgbtqia issues and personal stories, makes every episode enlightning.
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: She says nice things about us, but then she says
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: that she is a college student studying communications. I appreciate
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: how you both merge personal anecdotes with meaningful discussions. Yes,
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: you are in college. I thought it would be fun
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: to ask you some lighthearted questions tailored to your unique personalities.
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: So I'm gonna answer two of her questions for you.
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'm gonna give you the two questions and
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna answer to for me.
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: Okay, all right?
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: For Lyric as a mom, what's one lesson that you've
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: learned from your kids that has influenced your perspective on
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: life or your creative work?
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: Listen before responding.
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: Love it.
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: If you could perform a do it with any artist
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: past or present, who would it be?
- 1:37:04Speaker 6: And what song would you choose?
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: That is not freaking fair.
- 1:37:09Speaker 5: It's all.
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: Too many.
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: It's way too many.
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: I don't know because you know what it used to
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: be Lauren.
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: Hall, but.
- 1:37:28Speaker 6: You'd still be waiting for.
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: She wouldn't show up to the show.
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: You still be waiting for.
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: But man, I'm gonna have to say, Michael Jackson man
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: the greatest to ever to ever do it?
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: Okay, And.
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: I don't know what song I wouldn't sing with him?
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: Maybe Lady. Maybe my favorite is Lady in my life
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: I think it.
- 1:37:59Speaker 6: Is is Okay, I think it's gone.
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: Tell you that probably that or Brittany Hompston. I really
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: can't pick. That's not a fair question to ask because
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: it's way to.
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: That's with who are no longer been at?
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: So all right?
- 1:38:17Speaker 2: And she says, and for you, Marcus, giving your advocacy
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: and experience with lgbt Q I a issues, what is
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: the what's one piece of advice you would give to
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: someone struggling with their identity?
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: You know what? I'll let you answer that one first, Eddie.
- 1:38:39Speaker 6: Struggling with their identity.
- 1:38:43Speaker 5: Because I know what I would say, but I want
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: to see if you.
- 1:38:47Speaker 7: First start is and this is tricky, but aut knowing, well, okay,
- 1:38:51Speaker 7: let's assume this is college age, like you.
- 1:38:53Speaker 6: Said, uh, and I can kind of remember college age.
- 1:38:57Speaker 6: Figure out who you are first? Who that is? Who
- 1:39:02Speaker 6: that is? Who? Who are you when no one else
- 1:39:04Speaker 6: is watching? Who that is?
- 1:39:08Speaker 7: Then as you look at that, and I don't know
- 1:39:11Speaker 7: exactly what process to tell anybody else to do.
- 1:39:14Speaker 6: For me, it was very much a spiritual thing of
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: me and God talking to him.
- 1:39:17Speaker 7: Showing me the beauty, the worth and everything that I
- 1:39:20Speaker 7: did not see in myself, especially as a black gay man.
- 1:39:23Speaker 6: But the idea that you need to learn who you
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: are first and ultimately fall in love with itself is
- 1:39:32Speaker 6: the goal.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: I want to echo that, and I will say unlearned.
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: Unlearn your mask is what I would say someone struggle struggling.
- 1:39:48Speaker 5: Far too many times.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: Do lgbt Q identifying people have to like we have
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: to put on a mask we grow up or where
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: the world tells us that we have to be a
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: certain thing in order to be safe. A lot for
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: a lot of us that aren't embracing, and because of
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: those reasons, a lot of us spend a lot of years,
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: I guess, trying to fit into a mold of where
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: everybody else wants us to, where we're comfortable, where we're safe,
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: where we can comfortably pass and just be ourselves in
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: uncomfortable situations. I would say, unlearned that behavior, and it
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: should make you, well, I'm sorry, It should get you
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: at least one more step closer to becoming whoever the
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: hell it is that you're supposed to be. Second question,
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: she said, if you could collaborate on a creative project
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: with any author or filmmaker, who would it be and
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: what would the project entail t b D. I'm going
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: to say, because as far as that goes, as far
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: as like the author stuff.
- 1:41:01Speaker 5: I'm just venturing into this.
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: So I'm trying to figure out who it is that
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: I am before. I mean, I have my inspirations and
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: everything else, of course, but as far as a collab
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: or just you know, I want to solidify meat first
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: hat man.
- 1:41:19Speaker 5: So there go.
- 1:41:21Speaker 2: She says, thank you both for incredible work and creating
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: such a welcoming space for listeners.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: I can't wait to hear your responses. You heard them.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: Warm regards Jessica Collins of Knoxville, Tennessee.
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: Thank you. Jackson's so sweet.
- 1:41:36Speaker 5: I appreciate that. That was fun, all right, by files love.
- 1:41:40Speaker 21: Next, we learned your French, we learned your English, or
- 1:41:44Speaker 21: Spanish or Dutch or Portuguese.
- 1:41:46Speaker 19: You're German, you learned our nothing. You called us stupid.
- 1:41:50Speaker 19: That's white privilege.
- 1:41:52Speaker 21: And I'm sure it probably hurts me to hear those
- 1:41:53Speaker 21: two words, kind of like gunshots and explosions from those
- 1:41:57Speaker 21: Commission to protect you whisking past your ears.
- 1:42:00Speaker 19: What is white privilege?
- 1:42:01Speaker 21: It is the only five decades of legal acknowledgment expected
- 1:42:05Speaker 21: to correct four hundred years of white transgression.
- 1:42:07Speaker 19: It is crack versus.
- 1:42:09Speaker 21: Cocaine, Blacks receiving almost twenty percent longer sentences for the
- 1:42:12Speaker 21: same exact defenses are like, for instance, a black man
- 1:42:15Speaker 21: without a record is less likely to get a job
- 1:42:17Speaker 21: than a white Fela will.
- 1:42:18Speaker 19: Maybe it's because we're lazy and we don't work out
- 1:42:20Speaker 19: in the flame. What the fuck? Four hundred years in
- 1:42:23Speaker 19: the same field. Literally is an incredible resume builder.
- 1:42:26Speaker 21: It is Katrina answering the government's prayers of eugenics, Dick
- 1:42:30Speaker 21: Cheney going fishing the next day, Condoleeza on a shopping
- 1:42:33Speaker 21: spree bush in San Diego. But Kanye is the one
- 1:42:36Speaker 21: you call crazy because like, it only took the USA
- 1:42:38Speaker 21: two days to get aid to Asia, but five for
- 1:42:41Speaker 21: FEMA to get to Canal Street and Esplanade.
- 1:42:43Speaker 19: It is the one.
- 1:42:44Speaker 21: Black kid who beat the shit out of the odds,
- 1:42:46Speaker 21: but only thanks to Sandra Bullock, Michelle Pfeiffer in the
- 1:42:48Speaker 21: white shadow.
- 1:42:49Speaker 19: So now we all can make it. It is the only.
- 1:42:51Speaker 21: Time thousands of white people are cheering for the black
- 1:42:54Speaker 21: kid to win is in a stadium. It is you
- 1:42:56Speaker 21: looking at me crazy. If I told you to go
- 1:42:58Speaker 21: back to Europe, even though we didn't have a say
- 1:43:00Speaker 21: and your great grandparents came here voluntarily. It is you,
- 1:43:04Speaker 21: all of a sudden having a problem with immigration, like this.
- 1:43:06Speaker 19: Isn't even your nation.
- 1:43:08Speaker 21: How the hell do you discover some shit that wasn't
- 1:43:10Speaker 21: even missing to begin with?
- 1:43:12Speaker 19: You Columbus are traditions.
- 1:43:13Speaker 21: Had white girls t working in high definition with multicolored hair.
- 1:43:16Speaker 19: And purple nails. But it was ghetto when we did it. Well,
- 1:43:19Speaker 19: am I making you uncomfortable? Try a cramped slave ship
- 1:43:22Speaker 19: for wait.
- 1:43:22Speaker 21: Slavery is over now it's just called the prison system
- 1:43:26Speaker 21: because like, you're not racist because you don't use the
- 1:43:28Speaker 21: N word, but y'all use niggas every day.
- 1:43:31Speaker 19: What is white privilege.
- 1:43:32Speaker 21: Is the acceptance of bombs over Baghdad but not of
- 1:43:35Speaker 21: a Boston. It is European history being taught as.
- 1:43:38Speaker 19: A major in African as an elective. It is learning
- 1:43:41Speaker 19: about my people's only twenty eight days, Like I'm not black.
- 1:43:44Speaker 21: Every fucking second is every white boy who wants to
- 1:43:47Speaker 21: fuck my brains out, not because I'm pretty, but because
- 1:43:49Speaker 21: I'm pretty for a black girl. As people thinking that
- 1:43:52Speaker 21: Africa is one nation. It is the waving of the
- 1:43:54Speaker 21: Confederate flag like you didn't lose the battle, and then
- 1:43:56Speaker 21: telling us to get over slavery. It's people saying that
- 1:43:59Speaker 21: black people destroyed neighborhoods, but forgetting that white people have
- 1:44:01Speaker 21: destroyed continents. Is every time I bring up my plight,
- 1:44:04Speaker 21: some white man has to tell me that I'm crazy,
- 1:44:06Speaker 21: But it's kind enough to praise my English or say
- 1:44:08Speaker 21: that we are all given the same opportunities, even though
- 1:44:11Speaker 21: he has a family history of wealth and I don't
- 1:44:13Speaker 21: even know my family history at all.
- 1:44:15Speaker 19: It is the justification of police.
- 1:44:17Speaker 21: Brutality, like what did that person do?
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: Well?
- 1:44:20Speaker 21: I'm sure it doesn't hurt as much when the victim doesn't.
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: Look like you.
- 1:44:23Speaker 21: It's people thinking that affirmative action is an unfair advantage
- 1:44:26Speaker 21: instead of keeping the qualified from being unfairly disadvantaged, or
- 1:44:30Speaker 21: throwing out a qualified applicant because their names sounded to
- 1:44:32Speaker 21: African American and his newports imported into black communities, but
- 1:44:36Speaker 21: black boys explored it for weed and it's big classic
- 1:44:39Speaker 21: assides it is a called fat when we naturally have them.
- 1:44:42Speaker 21: Is an Australian woman who's new classic of rap music
- 1:44:45Speaker 21: is everyone who hears this poem dismisses all this truth
- 1:44:48Speaker 21: I just spit as reverse racism, that is white privilege.
- 1:44:55Speaker 4: Why do you have religion?
- 1:44:57Speaker 22: Why?
- 1:44:58Speaker 15: Why?
- 1:44:59Speaker 5: Why? Why do my children hate me?
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: Are Real Talk Radio?
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: Why do my vaginavine is out there.
- 1:45:10Speaker 5: Explaining the unexplained. We're answering why the questions? You want
- 1:45:13Speaker 5: to know by taking your tweets? Okay, I'm all, I'm
- 1:45:16Speaker 5: just gonna put into Twitter. I'm over Twitter. But we're
- 1:45:19Speaker 5: at WRY, We're at station.
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: I'm sorry, We're at w r t R Radio at
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: gmail dot com, and we take your Facebook messages over
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: on our Facebook page w R t R Real Talk Radio.
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: This is the why files. Remember the truth is out there.
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: What you got missed lyrics?
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: My why comes from me all hell, and it's the
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: piggyback what I said off earlier. Why do some of
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: y'all black owned businesses just can't get y'all act together?
- 1:45:54Speaker 6: Why do y'all.
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: Treat the people who come in there so time? I
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: don't understand that it be us doing it to us?
- 1:46:03Speaker 5: Why is that not always? But yeah, I get it, and.
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: You know what, it sucks because we I know, at
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: least you and I have been hard on by black
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: We've done everything like just over the years, for the
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: TV show to the radio show. Just it's always been
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: us helping us that came off real gig.
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: But you know what I'm saying, either way, I did.
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: There's a there's an organization here in DC called US
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: Helping Us anyways. But you know it, it's discouraging because
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: we we do.
- 1:46:43Speaker 5: But I don't know. It's a double edged sword because
- 1:46:48Speaker 5: and on one.
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: Part of me wants to be like, you know, we
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: pour money into all these white and well known establishments
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: and don't necessarily give to ourselves, but then you know,
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: you have experiences like the one that you have, and then.
- 1:47:04Speaker 5: It's hard to advocate for things.
- 1:47:06Speaker 4: So I don't know, And let's be clear, I go
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: to the manager for both.
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: I don't make that service, whether it's in a white
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: establishment or a black established.
- 1:47:20Speaker 7: I'm wishing on some of them. I wish on some
- 1:47:24Speaker 7: level we could take the black out of black owned
- 1:47:26Speaker 7: businesses and maybe just leave it more general as small businesses,
- 1:47:31Speaker 7: which we a lot of times.
- 1:47:33Speaker 6: There's a correlation there, right, you know, the black owned
- 1:47:35Speaker 6: business being a.
- 1:47:35Speaker 7: Small also getting a small small business. But I know,
- 1:47:40Speaker 7: I totally feel you. I totally feel you. It's why
- 1:47:43Speaker 7: I go so hard. It's why I go so hard
- 1:47:46Speaker 7: because and it ain't even just about being black, It's
- 1:47:48Speaker 7: about because it's my business, okay, and I'm gonna do it.
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: Also, we need to stop walking Yeah, but we need
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: to also stop walking into these situations.
- 1:47:56Speaker 5: Not saying that you did lyric, but some people need
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: to stop walking into these situations thinking that you're gonna
- 1:48:02Speaker 5: get the homie hooked up too, because that can.
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: Let me get it.
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: Yeah exactly. Oh well, you know you know what I'm saying.
- 1:48:11Speaker 5: Brothers were both struggling your.
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: Will.
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: I learned my lesson this year about giving the homie discount.
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: Never again, my price is my prize, my price who
- 1:48:29Speaker 4: else is?
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: Because you're not going into no Gucci star and then
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: oh let me get a discount. Let me get these
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: Gucci shades for this amount of dollars. Not you're not
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: doing that. You're gonna pay that bread so.
- 1:48:43Speaker 6: And that I mean that speaks to the idea too,
- 1:48:45Speaker 6: that it's it's a give and take.
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:48:47Speaker 7: They're gonna only treat you as a business if you
- 1:48:50Speaker 7: present as a business.
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: And even when it.
- 1:48:54Speaker 7: Comes to that piece we talked about those looking for
- 1:48:56Speaker 7: the homey discount, let's be there. There are some of
- 1:48:59Speaker 7: us who got business is who just kind of feel like, oh,
- 1:49:01Speaker 7: they're black, They're gonna give me a pass at the
- 1:49:03Speaker 7: quality ain't there too?
- 1:49:06Speaker 22: You know?
- 1:49:06Speaker 6: So you we both we've got accountability.
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:49:10Speaker 6: In all of that. The only thing I ever go.
- 1:49:14Speaker 7: In hard on people about is when they want to
- 1:49:16Speaker 7: talk about sometimes about the pricing. And that's when you're
- 1:49:19Speaker 7: talking about a mom and pop versus even somebody that's
- 1:49:22Speaker 7: a franchised McDonald's, you know, owner. They don't have the
- 1:49:25Speaker 7: backing and things like that that some other people do have,
- 1:49:29Speaker 7: and therefore their prices would be higher.
- 1:49:30Speaker 6: But that's another thing that I go back to with
- 1:49:32Speaker 6: my own business.
- 1:49:33Speaker 7: If my prices are gonna be higher, then these services
- 1:49:36Speaker 7: better be banging.
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, exactly, Let's be realistic, because there's no
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: reason we paid for exactly.
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: But see, let's be realistic.
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: There's no reason that them same sliders that I can
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: get at McDonald's for five dollars are twenty dollars.
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: For two sliders at your old price. Well, you know
- 1:49:57Speaker 5: I'm talking about I'm just talking about sliders.
- 1:50:00Speaker 6: No, I'm just saying.
- 1:50:01Speaker 7: I'm just saying, take a product any product, take any product,
- 1:50:03Speaker 7: right if that product is the main thing that brings
- 1:50:06Speaker 7: the money into the business. But that money also has
- 1:50:08Speaker 7: to pay the people, pay the overhead, pay all these
- 1:50:11Speaker 7: different things. I can see the I can see the
- 1:50:14Speaker 7: ripple effect.
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: But huh, I'm saying I don't need to be the
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: only ripple. I'm not your only cousin. Yeah, definitely about
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: to make your net sales off of me.
- 1:50:30Speaker 7: No, no, no, no, that is absolutely not what's going
- 1:50:33Speaker 7: to happen. Any other business would do, right you you
- 1:50:37Speaker 7: here come markets and he's coming in as a client
- 1:50:40Speaker 7: or whatever.
- 1:50:40Speaker 6: I'm giving him a.
- 1:50:41Speaker 7: Discount so I can make sure I get his business,
- 1:50:44Speaker 7: and he gonna more than likely bring all these more
- 1:50:46Speaker 7: people into me. But every Joe blow whatever ain't gonna
- 1:50:49Speaker 7: just come up in here. Ah, all I got is
- 1:50:51Speaker 7: doing a Chris Rock, you know. Can you pour it
- 1:50:53Speaker 7: in my hand for a dime and give me one rip?
- 1:50:55Speaker 7: No business to stand and run like that. Actually, my
- 1:50:58Speaker 7: family owns a barbecue restaurant. They ain't planning like that.
- 1:51:02Speaker 7: We got bills to pay too.
- 1:51:04Speaker 5: Absolutely while they're.
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: Because the truth is out there, and give me my
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: clean here.
- 1:51:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna just do this one from Erica from
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: North Carolina. She wants to know why do white people.
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: Feel a need to hold on to the idea of superiority.
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: What is it that they have, What is it that
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: they feel is so superior that needs protecting?
- 1:51:23Speaker 6: Wow?
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: I had to pull that. Can I please tap by
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: all me go for it? Because I am.
- 1:51:31Speaker 6: Of the theory and it just hit me.
- 1:51:33Speaker 7: In recent years, they know our superiority, they know our greatness.
- 1:51:40Speaker 6: It's you look at our history.
- 1:51:42Speaker 7: You look at how much effort has gone into oppressing
- 1:51:45Speaker 7: us and pushing us down and telling us who we
- 1:51:48Speaker 7: aren't and making up these lies making us subservient.
- 1:51:51Speaker 6: Great experience.
- 1:51:52Speaker 7: I just went again to the UH after the Museum
- 1:51:56Speaker 7: of African American History or Heritage.
- 1:51:58Speaker 6: And Culture is too many words forget it.
- 1:52:00Speaker 7: But the thing in DC the they pretty thing, but
- 1:52:02Speaker 7: all the black stuff and you had the slaves of
- 1:52:05Speaker 7: the cabin And I walked in and my head was
- 1:52:09Speaker 7: here at the door, and I said to myself, my
- 1:52:12Speaker 7: educated solf first said, oh, they do talk about how
- 1:52:14Speaker 7: people were stereotypically shorter back in the day because like Abraham,
- 1:52:19Speaker 7: like a no no hold on Abraham, Lincoln was an
- 1:52:21Speaker 7: abnormality because he was so tall.
- 1:52:24Speaker 6: And I had been into some other historical places.
- 1:52:26Speaker 7: Unfortunately, somebody took me to a freaking plantation and I
- 1:52:29Speaker 7: saw the tiny beds that was supposed to sleep in,
- 1:52:32Speaker 7: and I couldn't slept in these beds. But coming back
- 1:52:35Speaker 7: to the to the to the cabin. In the cabin,
- 1:52:38Speaker 7: I had the epiphany me and God was talking. He
- 1:52:40Speaker 7: was like, baby, listen, our people have always been, even
- 1:52:43Speaker 7: though I'm on the shorter end, our people have always.
- 1:52:45Speaker 6: Been to come down. See you can see me, you know.
- 1:52:48Speaker 7: And so I said, man, the man had to bow
- 1:52:50Speaker 7: to enter his own house.
- 1:52:52Speaker 6: That is by design.
- 1:52:54Speaker 7: Yeah, And that is why I think they are so
- 1:52:56Speaker 7: fierce with it, because it's something that the idea of
- 1:52:59Speaker 7: why I won't take or steal something because I always
- 1:53:02Speaker 7: feel I didn't get it the right way, and I'll
- 1:53:04Speaker 7: always give on my guard to keep it. This idea
- 1:53:07Speaker 7: of superiority that they have was born out of falsehoods,
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: and they are going to put all this effort into
- 1:53:15Speaker 7: keeping it.
- 1:53:15Speaker 6: And I feel that the majority of.
- 1:53:17Speaker 7: Them know deep down, they know, oh this hair, that's
- 1:53:21Speaker 7: why you wanted this skin, That's why you wanted this
- 1:53:22Speaker 7: fat ass.
- 1:53:23Speaker 6: That's why you wanted this big at gonna say that
- 1:53:25Speaker 6: that's why.
- 1:53:26Speaker 5: You want it, m what you got l fear.
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: They know that if there's ever a time where black
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: people really unite and come together, we're gonna stop on everything. Honestly,
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: that's all that needed to happen back in those days.
- 1:53:53Speaker 4: But that's why.
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: That's why they did so much of hanging us, separating families,
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: cause causing division, other stuff that they that they did
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: to us.
- 1:54:10Speaker 5: I just know.
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: That they really feared us.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: I just know that I'm looking at the political comat
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: right now and I'm looking at you know, just Trump
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: and his presence and what he represents, empowering so many
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: other people to just wile out White people like they
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: just they feel like they're unleashed at this point, and
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: you know, they feel like they can say They feel
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: like they can say anything, they feel.
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: Like they can do anything.
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: And it's just like this letter says, like, what is
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: it that you feel like you need technic?
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: What is it that you feel the superior? Because we're
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: best you wents uh in athletics.
- 1:54:54Speaker 13: We are intelligent, more intelligent, are are actually able to
- 1:55:02Speaker 13: go out into the sun without burning to a crisp
- 1:55:04Speaker 13: like there are so many different things that uh as
- 1:55:08Speaker 13: just melanated people and who we are that threat Like
- 1:55:13Speaker 13: when you've literally spent your entire life stealing everything from
- 1:55:20Speaker 13: everywhere you then are scared of having taken back.
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: They literally have nothing everything. And this is I'm not
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: dragging white people. What I'm saying is that what is
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: your culture?
- 1:55:32Speaker 5: White people?
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: Because sports, like you said, what do you What have
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: you contributed even to things that were made for for
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: the US inventions?
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: What have you contributed?
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: Wherever we are, there's always Black people are always like
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: whatever situation, wherever we find ourselves, we automatically gravitate to
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: the order of the black people in the room and
- 1:56:06Speaker 2: we just have a shared bond. We have shared experiences,
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: we have shared looks of vibes, just everything, and it's
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: just all in here. White people, What is your culture?
- 1:56:20Speaker 5: What's going on?
- 1:56:24Speaker 6: One?
- 1:56:25Speaker 7: Saving grace and the thing that makes some of this
- 1:56:27Speaker 7: song pertaining to me? I love some irony, baby, y'all
- 1:56:29Speaker 7: love me some irony. All this ship is your fault
- 1:56:33Speaker 7: because you came over to Africa and invented this concept
- 1:56:37Speaker 7: of race. Okay, And if we had have been left
- 1:56:41Speaker 7: alone on our own, if we were respected as equals.
- 1:56:47Speaker 7: You would have gone down this track of stealing everything
- 1:56:50Speaker 7: that you claim is yours now and being so desperate
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: to keep it. And when you speak to that fear,
- 1:56:56Speaker 7: it's the fear of the retaliation.
- 1:56:57Speaker 6: Y'all know that I would go Jesus on this.
- 1:57:00Speaker 7: I know the things that I deserve because of the
- 1:57:03Speaker 7: things I've done, okay, and the idea of all that
- 1:57:07Speaker 7: grace being stripped away, Holy shit, I would freak out too.
- 1:57:11Speaker 7: I would be worried as that, Oh yeah, you're gonna
- 1:57:13Speaker 7: be mad at me because I hit Marcus on on
- 1:57:16Speaker 7: the arm one day. I'm looking for him to hit
- 1:57:18Speaker 7: me back at some point, at some point. That's why
- 1:57:20Speaker 7: I think a lot of this is But y'all kicked
- 1:57:22Speaker 7: this ship off, and we finna get it in.
- 1:57:27Speaker 6: You know, you could have left us what we was,
- 1:57:29Speaker 6: let us do.
- 1:57:30Speaker 7: Our thing, and that white if they hadn't identified, if
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: they hadn't messed up and identified themselves as white, they
- 1:57:36Speaker 7: can still say I'm Italian. Italians have culture, I'm Spanish,
- 1:57:42Speaker 7: Spanish has culture, French French ass culture.
- 1:57:45Speaker 6: England I don't entirely get it. They have culture. But
- 1:57:48Speaker 6: where the white white was here?
- 1:57:54Speaker 5: Now?
- 1:57:55Speaker 3: Where the did white come from?
- 1:57:57Speaker 5: See, this is one of my aliens.
- 1:58:02Speaker 3: Y'all, mean, even from here, there was people who was
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: already living here already.
- 1:58:05Speaker 5: The aliens are the lizard people. No, I'm playing, and let's.
- 1:58:10Speaker 6: Talk about it.
- 1:58:10Speaker 7: Let's talk about real if you don't mind. It was
- 1:58:16Speaker 7: a Native American who looked up and said, oh, y'all
- 1:58:19Speaker 7: trying to enslave us.
- 1:58:20Speaker 6: I know these Africans are a bit more durable.
- 1:58:23Speaker 7: He get over to England with them and pitch this
- 1:58:26Speaker 7: to the folks in England, and that's the ship that
- 1:58:28Speaker 7: kicked off.
- 1:58:29Speaker 6: Oh well, let's go get all these black folks's stay it.
- 1:58:32Speaker 6: We have to do a special yeah episode just.
- 1:58:39Speaker 5: Miss Erica.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: Hopefully you got your answer, because the truth is out there,
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: that rap. This WI files were always answering why for
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: you at w r t R Radio on Twitter.
- 1:58:50Speaker 5: I guess we're going.
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: To skip news making noxious and go right into real
- 1:58:54Speaker 2: chalk this week, which is what's killing relationships nowadays.
- 1:59:01Speaker 5: We'll be right back, y'all.
- 1:59:02Speaker 23: Niggas are so embarrassing, like beyond embarrassing. I know y'all
- 1:59:06Speaker 23: are not on the fucking internet asking for child support, forgiveness,
- 1:59:12Speaker 23: child support forgiveness. Kamala is proposing to give y'all money
- 1:59:16Speaker 23: to start a business, the fund of business. Y'all are
- 1:59:20Speaker 23: asking to remove the child support that you did not
- 1:59:24Speaker 23: fucking pay take care of you like there is already
- 1:59:29Speaker 23: a stereotype associated with black fathers. And then y'all gonna
- 1:59:35Speaker 23: get y'all asses on the fucking internet talking about can
- 1:59:38Speaker 23: you forgive child support?
- 1:59:40Speaker 3: Just fucking embarrassing.
- 1:59:43Speaker 22: You know, I love my people. I wouldn't want to
- 1:59:47Speaker 22: be anything but a black man if God asked me
- 1:59:51Speaker 22: in the next life, what race I want to go
- 1:59:53Speaker 22: back is? I'm picking black every day of the week
- 1:59:55Speaker 22: and twice on Sundays. But I feel like some of
- 1:59:59Speaker 22: us it should be slaves again.
- 2:00:02Speaker 10: Some of us should be slaves again according to what
- 2:00:05Speaker 10: and based on what see? Some of us have internalized
- 2:00:07Speaker 10: the inferiority of our own people so much you believe
- 2:00:10Speaker 10: there are particular qualities that make them deemed good for slavery.
- 2:00:14Speaker 6: You know I thought the same way. Massive. What's backs
- 2:00:17Speaker 6: the question?
- 2:00:17Speaker 10: Can we be critical of each other without engaging in
- 2:00:19Speaker 10: plantation politics or refine these tropes about enslavement?
- 2:00:23Speaker 6: He had being the first half too.
- 2:00:24Speaker 10: I'm talking about yeah, I love being my race too,
- 2:00:27Speaker 10: you know what I'm saying, And I wouldn't shoot with
- 2:00:29Speaker 10: the nelts. But then you said something that was the
- 2:00:31Speaker 10: most anti black antithetical things.
- 2:00:33Speaker 6: Everything that you just said that was crazy, and you
- 2:00:35Speaker 6: said it on blad TV.
- 2:00:37Speaker 10: Because I think it would be bad if somebody said
- 2:00:39Speaker 10: that you need to be enslave for what you and
- 2:00:40Speaker 10: Tiffany Hads did and their skit with their boy.
- 2:00:42Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying.
- 2:00:43Speaker 10: They would be crazy, would it?
- 2:00:46Speaker 5: What?
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: Hundred? Hey, it's real jog wrg R, Real Talk Radio.
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: We keep it real, all right.
- 2:00:55Speaker 5: We're black, We're black.
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: And inside of this week's edition of Real Talk, we
- 2:01:00Speaker 2: are talking this week what is killing relationships Nowadays? I
- 2:01:05Speaker 2: asked this question online and it sparked a whole debate
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: and it then pivoted over into this whole thing with
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: a tender profile as anyway, asking what you all think?
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: And I guess I'll open it to our current panel
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: before I start reading the the answer.
- 2:01:28Speaker 5: Yes, what do you think, mister Eddie B What are
- 2:01:32Speaker 5: we going on?
- 2:01:32Speaker 7: Oh God, that is so multilary, and I'm trying to
- 2:01:35Speaker 7: keep it short.
- 2:01:36Speaker 6: I will say.
- 2:01:38Speaker 5: What is killing relationships now?
- 2:01:42Speaker 7: I think on some level, part of the problem is
- 2:01:45Speaker 7: that relationships, while they still exist, the context in which
- 2:01:51Speaker 7: we view them what they're supposed to be, has changed.
- 2:01:56Speaker 6: How do we go about them, how do we require them?
- 2:01:59Speaker 7: Thinking about some of them letters and the responses earlier,
- 2:02:01Speaker 7: I think about the idea that back in the day
- 2:02:03Speaker 7: and ship not too long ago for us, you dated
- 2:02:07Speaker 7: till marriage, right you you you got to know each other.
- 2:02:11Speaker 7: That's kind of what I'm trying to say, before we
- 2:02:13Speaker 7: get into any of these long term relationships. And I
- 2:02:16Speaker 7: know a lot of reasons why people jump into them
- 2:02:18Speaker 7: really quick and what have you, But I feel that
- 2:02:20Speaker 7: a lot of it starts with it starting off wrong
- 2:02:24Speaker 7: and it probably being something that didn't necessarily especially think
- 2:02:28Speaker 7: about it as a gay man, something that should have
- 2:02:31Speaker 7: been a friendship versus a sexual hook up or even
- 2:02:35Speaker 7: a romantic.
- 2:02:36Speaker 5: Encounter that is true. What's your thinking that's later?
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: I would have to say, unrealistic expectations, unhealed trauma, terrible.
- 2:02:53Speaker 2: Communication, horrible Those are my top three off the internet menu.
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: Cook says people jumping in them when they aren't ready
- 2:03:04Speaker 2: or qualified. We see im Mullen says, women carrying fifty percent.
- 2:03:11Speaker 2: I'm sorry, ninety percent of the load, especially when children
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: are involved. I just spent five days with my daughter
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: and she's exhausted. They have a six year old, and
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: my daughter works full time and does ninety percent of
- 2:03:23Speaker 2: the domestic chores, planning, scheduling, doing. Then when she's so
- 2:03:28Speaker 2: exhausted she gets grumpy, she's told that she needs to
- 2:03:32Speaker 2: calm down. See Amanda Ford says narcissism, lack of healing
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: from past relationships, which is what you said, miss Lyric.
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: Emotional unavailability, fear of being made a fool of or
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: love not being reciprocated, lack of patience and understanding with
- 2:03:52Speaker 2: their partner, lack of respect, too many outside influences and
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: not enough solid internal influences. Somebody uh ya Wayne Smith's
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: dishonesty with oneself. Elmer Pal says, lack of communication. Lourie,
- 2:04:10Speaker 2: it's Laurie love. She says, not being true about your
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: sexual preferences. And that doesn't mean gay, that just means
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: sexual preferences you know all around because a lot of
- 2:04:23Speaker 2: y'all are into stuff, then you be trying to get
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: other people into stuff.
- 2:04:27Speaker 5: Dressing up like Odie and Garfield and.
- 2:04:32Speaker 6: Within the gay in the gay community.
- 2:04:34Speaker 7: The guy that's pretending to bet to be a top
- 2:04:36Speaker 7: versus a bottom and all that business, and y'all get
- 2:04:39Speaker 7: in and somebody all the time.
- 2:04:43Speaker 5: To be in the top all the time with the gays.
- 2:04:45Speaker 5: We could go in on all the ways that goes wrong.
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: But anyways, let's see William Pulinarian Bellamone and someone else said,
- 2:04:57Speaker 2: they all.
- 2:04:57Speaker 5: Said social media as a collective, and.
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: I want to know, like, what is going on on
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: social media that y'all think that that is what is
- 2:05:05Speaker 2: wrong with the relationships.
- 2:05:07Speaker 5: That's like saying guns kill people.
- 2:05:11Speaker 6: Guns don't kill people.
- 2:05:12Speaker 5: People kill peace.
- 2:05:13Speaker 2: Well, whether it's social media or not, whether it's social
- 2:05:17Speaker 2: media gasing it or not, if that person is going
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: to cheat regardless that if Martin Zuckerberger or whoever ever
- 2:05:26Speaker 2: decided tom any of them niggas, if they ever, if
- 2:05:29Speaker 2: they never decided to open a platform, and that nigga
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: was gonna cheat, they gonna cheat.
- 2:05:34Speaker 5: It just is what it is.
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: Stop making this about the thing like it's well, that's
- 2:05:41Speaker 2: my thing.
- 2:05:43Speaker 7: I would just add that, like any too, social media
- 2:05:49Speaker 7: makes a lot of things easier, okay, And so that
- 2:05:53Speaker 7: idea of connectivity. Think about how many people like like, okay,
- 2:05:56Speaker 7: pure platonic example, I fell in love with the two
- 2:05:58Speaker 7: of you and I've never met you, and it's purely
- 2:06:01Speaker 7: through social media. And I feel like I know you,
- 2:06:03Speaker 7: even though I know I don't know you. Know you, right,
- 2:06:05Speaker 7: So imagine that person that's you know.
- 2:06:08Speaker 6: I look at like.
- 2:06:09Speaker 7: Relationships where And this is why I can say that
- 2:06:11Speaker 7: if you're in a home, you need to have a
- 2:06:13Speaker 7: certain amount of space. You need to have enough space
- 2:06:14Speaker 7: to be each other and to be separate in the house,
- 2:06:16Speaker 7: because when things kick off, a lot of times, first
- 2:06:19Speaker 7: thing we want to do is leave the house.
- 2:06:21Speaker 6: Now in this case, you have in.
- 2:06:24Speaker 7: Both cases opened yourself up to the possibility of doing
- 2:06:28Speaker 7: some things you wouldn't necessarily do.
- 2:06:30Speaker 6: And I hear you on the person that's gonna cheat's
- 2:06:32Speaker 6: gonna cheat.
- 2:06:33Speaker 7: I don't feel that that's always, and there's there's never
- 2:06:36Speaker 7: never and never always. It's it's about circumstances and and things.
- 2:06:41Speaker 7: And I'm not advocating for anybody doing anything, but I
- 2:06:43Speaker 7: can imagine how easy it is to get fixated on
- 2:06:46Speaker 7: somebody that you think is this perfect idea of a
- 2:06:48Speaker 7: mate that you've only interacted with on social media.
- 2:06:52Speaker 6: And before we had social media, we didn't have that.
- 2:06:55Speaker 7: You had to go outside, you had to and if
- 2:06:57Speaker 7: you were outside, we didn't have keep in mind, we
- 2:07:01Speaker 7: didn't have dipping off in the d MS back in
- 2:07:03Speaker 7: the day. Best we can do is maybe a voicemail
- 2:07:05Speaker 7: and somebody at home might have checked that voice. So
- 2:07:08Speaker 7: I'm just saying all of it makes it easier.
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: I come from I come from the school of do
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: you like me? Check yes or no?
- 2:07:16Speaker 5: Because I don't know what you girls were doing when
- 2:07:21Speaker 5: I was doing this.
- 2:07:22Speaker 6: My first crush, I found her number in the phone book.
- 2:07:25Speaker 7: I mean, you know, I mean, I'm just saying that,
- 2:07:29Speaker 7: while it does not necessarily cause it, it's definitely exactly. See. Yeah,
- 2:07:38Speaker 7: it's a tool in this house. It's how it's being you.
- 2:07:40Speaker 7: So I would love for them to have elaborated when
- 2:07:44Speaker 7: they said social media.
- 2:07:45Speaker 5: Well what one person did social media? William Culinarian said,
- 2:07:49Speaker 5: social media people want these incidents just as water and
- 2:07:52Speaker 5: stir ass relationships, just so they can get on here
- 2:07:56Speaker 5: and boast about it and other.
- 2:07:57Speaker 2: Faces, only to be only to be a church mouse
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: a few weeks later. I have to change in the
- 2:08:05Speaker 2: relationship status the single and they'll do this multiple time
- 2:08:09Speaker 2: of year as fos.
- 2:08:11Speaker 5: So it's true people do this.
- 2:08:14Speaker 4: It is who are you?
- 2:08:16Speaker 3: Who are you in the relationship for you are your
- 2:08:19Speaker 3: social media fans.
- 2:08:23Speaker 5: But that's not a social media issue. That's a you
- 2:08:25Speaker 5: not working through whatever issues it is that gets you
- 2:08:29Speaker 5: to need this desire to seem like you're somebody that
- 2:08:33Speaker 5: you're not, or to force yourself into a situation that
- 2:08:37Speaker 5: is not ideal for yourself for the enjoyment of others.
- 2:08:40Speaker 5: That's a therapy thing.
- 2:08:42Speaker 7: But that's that's part that's a therapy thing.
- 2:08:46Speaker 6: But well that is part of part of that too.
- 2:08:49Speaker 7: And you speak to therapy, you speak to psychology, you
- 2:08:51Speaker 7: speak to psyche and and that's part of the thing
- 2:08:54Speaker 7: too with social media, and we tend to forget this
- 2:08:57Speaker 7: ship is by design, even that elgorithm, it's design is
- 2:09:00Speaker 7: shitit right, It makes us want to fall in love
- 2:09:03Speaker 7: with these ideas and these objects and these people and
- 2:09:06Speaker 7: these filtered pictures and these relationship goals posts and things
- 2:09:12Speaker 7: like that.
- 2:09:12Speaker 6: Before we had that.
- 2:09:14Speaker 7: And please understand, like I said, I'm not bashing it,
- 2:09:17Speaker 7: but I just I'm old enough to know and remember
- 2:09:20Speaker 7: the time before we had a twenty four hour news cycle,
- 2:09:22Speaker 7: before we had twenty four hour social media where shit
- 2:09:25Speaker 7: is just constantly pumped into us. And honestly, even if
- 2:09:29Speaker 7: even when I turned off social media and people that
- 2:09:32Speaker 7: know me, they know I would go gos.
- 2:09:33Speaker 6: For like a year, year and a half, you will
- 2:09:35Speaker 6: not see me on social media. But there's still a TV,
- 2:09:38Speaker 6: there's still a radio.
- 2:09:40Speaker 7: But it's like I said, it's just making a lot
- 2:09:43Speaker 7: of things more accessible to our detriments. And then you
- 2:09:48Speaker 7: have the psychological play on the brain that's taking place
- 2:09:52Speaker 7: when you are so engaged in this thing.
- 2:09:55Speaker 6: You know how addictive it can be.
- 2:09:57Speaker 7: So like I said, I'm not saying that it's the
- 2:09:59Speaker 7: main factor, not saying it, but I do say that
- 2:10:01Speaker 7: it is a contributing factor.
- 2:10:04Speaker 2: Yeah, And closing, I guess I would just say, like,
- 2:10:09Speaker 2: you know, like I said in my opinion is I
- 2:10:11Speaker 2: just believe honestly that relationships nowadays you just have to
- 2:10:16Speaker 2: take the time and to speak to what William said,
- 2:10:19Speaker 2: it is true that people want instant gratification and we
- 2:10:22Speaker 2: don't take the time that we possibly should to maybe
- 2:10:28Speaker 2: iron out the details of things before we jump in them.
- 2:10:31Speaker 2: And I know, especially for gay people, a lot of
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: us find it hard enough to find other gay people
- 2:10:39Speaker 2: let alone other gay people.
- 2:10:41Speaker 5: That we like and get along with and are compatible with.
- 2:10:45Speaker 5: And a lot of times I think a lot of
- 2:10:48Speaker 5: us misconstrue friendship for maybe a little bit more because
- 2:10:53Speaker 5: we don't have proximity to anything else, I know, just
- 2:10:56Speaker 5: for you know, some of us, and that can be
- 2:10:58Speaker 5: true across all sexuality. Is not just yet. But anyways,
- 2:11:04Speaker 5: oh what you got?
- 2:11:07Speaker 3: John Day responded on my post lack of communication, lack
- 2:11:15Speaker 3: of mutual respect for others, boundaries, need for constant validation
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: or reassurance, and this one expecting the person to remain
- 2:11:26Speaker 3: the exact same as if growth is not a thing.
- 2:11:36Speaker 6: Crashed and burned. That's done.
- 2:11:39Speaker 3: Work. With that being said, I think we hit most
- 2:11:43Speaker 3: of the.
- 2:11:44Speaker 5: Thing and hopefully we answered that question. And shout outs
- 2:11:49Speaker 5: to Tenara for coming up with that topic. Tonara is
- 2:11:52Speaker 5: the the girl on TikTok everybody's so creative.
- 2:11:57Speaker 6: Oh that's her.
- 2:12:00Speaker 5: So she came up with that stick a good topic,
- 2:12:03Speaker 5: and you know, I was like.
- 2:12:04Speaker 2: Oh that's a good one. Let me go ahead and
- 2:12:07Speaker 2: use that one. So shout us to her. She's doing
- 2:12:10Speaker 2: big things. And yeah, shout us to you also, Eddie B.
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: Thank you so much for coming on the show today
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: we had a glass with you.
- 2:12:18Speaker 6: Thank you. I appreciate it.
- 2:12:20Speaker 7: I have had a great time now I don't have
- 2:12:22Speaker 7: to mess with markets all day tomorrow. Being all in
- 2:12:25Speaker 7: his inbox as I listened to each sentence, it's on.
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: Bad Lioten half the time. When we hang this up,
- 2:12:33Speaker 2: I immediately forget everything that we've said.
- 2:12:37Speaker 5: I'll be like, what then, you know, you never know,
- 2:12:42Speaker 5: you might have a little sativa. You don't know shit anyways. No, honestly,
- 2:12:46Speaker 5: what do you want the people to know about you?
- 2:12:48Speaker 5: Where can they reach you? All that good stuff?
- 2:12:51Speaker 7: So anything Eddie s peers, Eddie Pierce the only thing
- 2:12:57Speaker 7: that you make in my dad and we look a
- 2:12:59Speaker 7: lot like.
- 2:13:01Speaker 6: But anything Eddie spears.
- 2:13:03Speaker 7: As far as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram threads, I never
- 2:13:12Speaker 7: really did Twitter, and I'm actually gonna finally to cut
- 2:13:14Speaker 7: that one.
- 2:13:16Speaker 6: And I think that oh LinkedIn.
- 2:13:19Speaker 7: But if you're looking for the if you look for
- 2:13:22Speaker 7: the company name Rainbow Publishing as well, that would pull
- 2:13:27Speaker 7: up some of all of those socials. It's actually, like
- 2:13:29Speaker 7: I said at the point, now you can google me
- 2:13:31Speaker 7: and one of those is on the pop and that's
- 2:13:34Speaker 7: how you find me. As far as what I want
- 2:13:37Speaker 7: to lead to people is just find that dream, stop
- 2:13:42Speaker 7: making excuses, and remove all of the obstacles in your head.
- 2:13:46Speaker 7: Start small, go get it.
- 2:13:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:13:52Speaker 5: My name is Margaret Smooth, my name is miss leg Bravata,
- 2:13:55Speaker 5: and I.
