- 0:00Speaker 1: You know, like anything, there's pros and there's cons, especially
- 0:03Speaker 1: when it comes to this discussion as far as when
- 0:06Speaker 1: the best time to have kids is. Oh gosh, you know,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I got each I got your young parents over here
- 0:12Speaker 1: who started when they were really young, and yeah, they're gonna,
- 0:15Speaker 1: you know, be on their own sooner than people who
- 0:19Speaker 1: are over here who add them later in life. Well,
- 0:22Speaker 1: they got to enjoy their twenties zone and do that thing.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So you know what I mean. There's there's pros and
- 0:25Speaker 1: cons of both sides, that hundred percent right. But I'm
- 0:28Speaker 1: here to talk about the benefits of being a quote
- 0:30Speaker 1: older mom.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Oh gosh, I can't wait to hear what an older
- 0:33Speaker 2: mom even entails.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Like what's the age range for that? I mean there's
- 0:37Speaker 1: no set. Okay, what's called it? Thirty five? Okay, when
- 0:41Speaker 1: did you have your first kid? You were? How old?
- 0:43Speaker 1: U thirty three? I want to say, okay, because I was.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I had just had brigs right before I turned thirty five,
- 0:50Speaker 1: So I mean, I would just say, if you're starting
- 0:52Speaker 1: in your thirties, that's like later than sooner. Right, You're
- 0:56Speaker 1: you're You're not an old mom. I'm not saying that.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I'm just saying that's that's definitely waiting. Yeah, right, A
- 1:01Speaker 1: lot of people like he's we're in college still, and
- 1:04Speaker 1: I had friends popping kids out. You know.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's amazing to me how many of my friends
- 1:08Speaker 2: from high school when they married their high school sweethearts.
- 1:11Speaker 2: We both kind of come from small towns.
- 1:13Speaker 1: And people love doing that. I have kids that are
- 1:16Speaker 1: I mean, they only have a couple of years left
- 1:18Speaker 1: in their graduating. I know, it's wild. And you got
- 1:20Speaker 1: the other friends who are just getting started, but they
- 1:22Speaker 1: say the best reasons to be an older mom are well,
- 1:25Speaker 1: for one, you make the most of the moments. You know,
- 1:28Speaker 1: you got a few years of adulthood under belt. You
- 1:30Speaker 1: kind of under your belt. You kind of realize that
- 1:32Speaker 1: years go by quickly. Now they only go by quicker
- 1:35Speaker 1: and I so you got to cherish it.
- 1:37Speaker 2: How I would have been as a mom in my twenties,
- 1:39Speaker 2: of course, it's something that I can't even wrap my
- 1:42Speaker 2: head around because that was a different life stage for me, clearly.
- 1:46Speaker 1: But but like for anybody, you figure like once you
- 1:49Speaker 1: have the kid, things would it would have been different.
- 1:51Speaker 2: But what I do know about getting older is just
- 1:55Speaker 2: you have that in your mindset no matter what. You
- 1:58Speaker 2: don't have kids, bike, but don't you all so like
- 2:00Speaker 2: the older you get, you just focus on the important things.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It's amazing to me when you get into your thirties
- 2:06Speaker 2: forties and that's all that you're.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Paying attention to.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So if you have kids at that point, that's what
- 2:09Speaker 2: you're gonna spend your focus on.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they say being an older mom, you're going
- 2:13Speaker 1: to take a more relaxed approach. Yeah, I guess you
- 2:17Speaker 1: don't sweat the small stuff for sure. Kind of been there,
- 2:19Speaker 1: done that. That's the other thing too, you have you've
- 2:22Speaker 1: been there, done that, so you're able to just focus
- 2:24Speaker 1: on your kid without that regret of like, oh, I'm
- 2:27Speaker 1: twenty two and all my friends are going to the
- 2:29Speaker 1: club and I'm at home with a baby, like I
- 2:31Speaker 1: wish I could do, And that's like natural, you know,
- 2:34Speaker 1: I wouldn't shame somebody for feeling that way. Of course, Yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you love your baby and you want to be there,
- 2:39Speaker 1: But at the same time, you can missing out. You're
- 2:41Speaker 1: missing out on certain things.
- 2:42Speaker 2: But again, you are in that and you see them
- 2:45Speaker 2: all over Instagram and TikTok anymore of when you're in
- 2:49Speaker 2: your mom era, or parenting era. That's just your bubble
- 2:52Speaker 2: and nothing else really truly matters, and it is. It's amazing.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Like I could be here talking to you about work.
- 2:58Speaker 2: As soon as I get home, it's like, no, well
- 3:00Speaker 2: it's about the kids.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's great. Yeah, you know, like I go
- 3:04Speaker 1: home and all I think about his work is that it. Yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I just can't. My wife's like, let it go, ho, honey,
- 3:12Speaker 1: just can we just have dinner? Stop? And then finally,
- 3:17Speaker 1: I think this one's kind of one of the biggest ones.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Is ideally anyway you'd have fewer stresses from finances. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 1: I mean ideally, yes, right then, it's not in every case.
- 3:29Speaker 1: The older you get, the more money you make. Isn't
- 3:30Speaker 1: always the situation, but usually you're at least more established
- 3:34Speaker 1: in a career, you know, early on. I think of
- 3:36Speaker 1: the struggles I, along with everybody else in their early twenties,
- 3:40Speaker 1: were having, like throwing a kid in there. I mean,
- 3:42Speaker 1: you figure it out, you do, and I know a
- 3:44Speaker 1: lot of people who did. But it would be a
- 3:46Speaker 1: lot easier if you just kind of knew where you
- 3:48Speaker 1: were at. Your ob tab would have been a daycare tab. Bike.
- 3:50Speaker 1: That's pretty much going to be the difference. Oh, b
- 3:53Speaker 1: you mean Old Broadway. I think you meant OBG, I
- 3:57Speaker 1: am did you is that what you thought? I don't
- 4:01Speaker 1: think they provide those services. No, the Old Broadway they
- 4:04Speaker 1: do have some cheap beers on Friday though, or they did?
- 4:07Speaker 1: They did? Do they still?
- 4:09Speaker 2: You know, I'm sure they do. I know you still
- 4:11Speaker 2: go on Friday great specials. But I I will say
- 4:15Speaker 2: that I'm glad of the way I went about it. Yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 2: but again, I have a lot of friends that are
- 4:19Speaker 2: also in that same stage of they're getting to that
- 4:22Speaker 2: point where, oh my gosh, we don't have to create
- 4:25Speaker 2: have babysitters all the time, you know, because that's my
- 4:27Speaker 2: big thing right now.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Sorry, we can't because I can't find a babysitter. Yeah, right,
- 4:32Speaker 1: you know. Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And then also I go, am I really going to
- 4:35Speaker 2: spend a babysitter plus go out, plus do this one?
- 4:37Speaker 1: I could just be at home with my kids and
- 4:39Speaker 1: have just as much fun. Yeah, it feels like it
- 4:42Speaker 1: feels like Yeah, and we have an add a kid yet,
- 4:44Speaker 1: And if we do have a kid, I would be
- 4:46Speaker 1: getting into the older dad range. I'm thirty three of
- 4:49Speaker 1: Jesus thirty four as of last week brutal. My wife's
- 4:52Speaker 1: thirty two, so, you know, but it feels right like
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'm glad we didn't right away. You know, did a
- 4:58Speaker 1: lot of things, Sure do I I had a lot
- 5:00Speaker 1: of things about my twenties. Yeah, but now I don't
- 5:03Speaker 1: think that's one of them, you know, Yeah, yeah, I
- 5:05Speaker 1: think it's I think it's good.
- 5:07Speaker 2: So you're thinking that that's the next phase for you?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Are you in that next era?
- 5:12Speaker 1: I'll take if I did have a kid, that would
- 5:14Speaker 1: be in the future, not in the I can't go
- 5:16Speaker 1: back in time, So I'm saying thank you for clarifying pack.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I wasn't sure what you meant. Yeah, don't have a
- 5:22Speaker 1: time machine, Amanda.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I was just wondering if we were putting something down
- 5:25Speaker 2: and I was supposed to be picking it up.
- 5:27Speaker 1: What am I supposed to Like? Are you supposed to
- 5:28Speaker 1: announce when you're thinking about having a bit? You know
- 5:30Speaker 1: what I mean? Like, I'll just I'll let you know
- 5:32Speaker 1: if we're ever having a baby, Okay, I'll tell you
- 5:33Speaker 1: just Yeah. I know you keep baiting me to say
- 5:36Speaker 1: I'm we're officially getting busy thinking without any sort of precautions,
- 5:43Speaker 1: in hopes of conceiving a child. So I'll put it
- 5:48Speaker 1: on Facebook if I ever decide that Amanda came. We've
- 5:53Speaker 1: eliminated all We've eliminated all our roadblocks. It's anything goes now. Oh.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I mean, you do get asked a lot, which is
- 6:04Speaker 2: also a very uncomfortable thing to happen, Like, yeah, such
- 6:09Speaker 2: a thing like you and I we can get away
- 6:12Speaker 2: with that because we're best friends.
- 6:13Speaker 1: But for somebody it is amazing too. How many people
- 6:16Speaker 1: will ask I'd say, you're a good acquaintance. I'd chill out,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm best friends. I mean we're co workers. Yeah, okay,
- 6:29Speaker 1: I got nothing left. What were you saying? Oh? Yeah,
- 6:32Speaker 1: the other Sorry? Just how many people asked you? We'll
- 6:37Speaker 1: ask you, hey, are you Are you guys ready to
- 6:39Speaker 1: have kids? Are you guys in the stats? Just like whoa?
- 6:42Speaker 1: I know, don't we all know by now? And thankfully
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's not the case. But what if? What if we
- 6:46Speaker 1: are desperately trying for years? You know? What if? Again?
- 6:50Speaker 2: And if I knew anything like that or had any
- 6:53Speaker 2: of those in that information, I would never be saying
- 6:56Speaker 2: it to you.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I know it would. It would just kill you on
- 6:58Speaker 1: the inside. So I definitely feel for people on their
- 7:00Speaker 1: situations totally. That's in the morning, Big ninety eight point seven. Hey,
- 7:05Speaker 1: what's a Disney movie with the Mermaid Ariel? Oh yeah, area,
- 7:09Speaker 1: but little Mermaid, that's what it is. Yeah, why I
- 7:13Speaker 1: just needed something because I want to tell you about
- 7:16Speaker 1: the first ever in the world. This is the first
- 7:18Speaker 1: of it's kind in the world underwater cemetery exists.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Have you heard about this taking a dark twist? What
- 7:27Speaker 2: I mean, I guess an underwater cemetery. There's a lot
- 7:29Speaker 2: of things that die. So isn't that the bottom of
- 7:32Speaker 2: the ocean. Isn't that kind of a cemetery.
- 7:35Speaker 1: In a way? I mean, but this so specifically designed
- 7:38Speaker 1: for humans. And actually it's off the coast of Miami
- 7:41Speaker 1: down in Florida right now that currently there are fifteen
- 7:44Speaker 1: hundred bodies laid to rest, thousands more who've already reserved
- 7:48Speaker 1: their spots.
- 7:49Speaker 2: No, you can't, that's not They could wash around the
- 7:54Speaker 2: Amanda's got it all figured out.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I don't think the architects of the underwater cemetery have
- 7:59Speaker 1: considered that this is Oh yeah, here's why I was asking.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm from See it sounds it actually sounds lovely. Now,
- 8:14Speaker 1: are you kidding me, not what ursula is around? Well,
- 8:17Speaker 1: it's another concern.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I know.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Or those eels. Are you kidding me? That's what you're
- 8:22Speaker 1: wried about. I don't even want to think about what's
- 8:24Speaker 1: going on the bottom of the ocean. Sounds like a
- 8:27Speaker 1: grave some bodies for sure. Now my question is who's
- 8:32Speaker 1: allowed to sell this? You know, because it's not you
- 8:35Speaker 1: have to pay money. It's the bottom of the ocean,
- 8:37Speaker 1: like who owns that real estate? And okay, so can
- 8:40Speaker 1: you pay me?
- 8:42Speaker 2: This sounds so morbid, because can you give me fifteen
- 8:44Speaker 2: hundred dollars and I'll take.
- 8:46Speaker 1: The body and go bury it in the ocean? Yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 1: there you go, trust me, bro, it's down there. Okay.
- 8:53Speaker 1: We got a nice headstone and everything with Roses purple
- 8:57Speaker 1: heart or no blue heart. Yeah, Rose was awarded a
- 9:01Speaker 1: purple heart for her bravery in World War One. No
- 9:03Speaker 1: the blue heart, you know, the heart of the ocean.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I know what you're talking about, purple heart. And I
- 9:09Speaker 1: was imagining Rose fighting in a war, although for her
- 9:12Speaker 1: it'd probably be more like Spanish for some civil war.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Even so, like to be fair, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack is
- 9:20Speaker 2: a part of this, So you could get buried with him.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I don't think that counts. I think he's that crazy.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I think he is down there somewhere. Not that that
- 9:28Speaker 1: was Was that a real person? Are we? Are we
- 9:31Speaker 1: based in that movie? Probably within his last name jack
- 9:35Speaker 1: ah O Lantern, it's probably Sparrow. Now this is interesting.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I will say I do like this idea underwater cemetery
- 9:48Speaker 1: more than an actual cemetery Jack Dawson Dawson's Creek, so
- 9:54Speaker 1: you are all over all over. But I'm thinking, though,
- 9:56Speaker 1: you know how I feel about cemeteries, right, like it's
- 9:58Speaker 1: got to end at some point, know how you think
- 10:00Speaker 1: about people who know me know my take on cemeteries,
- 10:05Speaker 1: and that's they got to stop. We got we got
- 10:08Speaker 1: to stop burying whole bodies, right, I mean just even locally,
- 10:12Speaker 1: like down by Rose Creek golf course, Like there's a
- 10:14Speaker 1: giant piece of land that's it's about one hundred years
- 10:18Speaker 1: worth of bodies. But what about two hundred years from now,
- 10:22Speaker 1: where are they all going to go? They'll figure it out,
- 10:25Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. We got to figure it out. Now,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'm saying, stop burying bodies Like that's why I want
- 10:30Speaker 1: to get cremated like, I don't do you know, I
- 10:32Speaker 1: don't want to get cremated. You don't know, well, not
- 10:35Speaker 1: while you're living, well, dut, what is wrong with you?
- 10:39Speaker 1: People are on their way to work right now wanting
- 10:41Speaker 1: to hear this. Why you know I want you want
- 10:44Speaker 1: to be cremated.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It's just not my jam. I I'm just saying but now,
- 10:48Speaker 2: and I also and I haven't really kind of had
- 10:51Speaker 2: some thought about it.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I don't really want to have an open casket unless no,
- 10:56Speaker 1: the idea that is horrific to me. It's amazing that I,
- 11:00Speaker 1: as a child out I had to go to a
- 11:02Speaker 1: funeral home and witness like, you know, my grandpa is
- 11:05Speaker 1: body laying there.
- 11:07Speaker 2: But having you know, we both lost parents. I like
- 11:12Speaker 2: that moment when you're there. It's like your last scene
- 11:15Speaker 2: of your my mom. And I just want to remember
- 11:20Speaker 2: that versus a cremation.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I don't know. That's my stepdad wants to get cremated though,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and it's I guess I would disagree on wanting that
- 11:27Speaker 1: to be my last image. Well no, but just having
- 11:30Speaker 1: that moment, I don't know. No, I mean teacher like
- 11:33Speaker 1: I respect that of course doesn't sound like you. I'm
- 11:35Speaker 1: just saying like, have you ever been to an old
- 11:37Speaker 1: cemetery or gone around to see like the old headstones
- 11:40Speaker 1: where nobody know, nobody's visiting, you know, Slappy McGee from
- 11:44Speaker 1: eighteen fourteen. Sadly, I don't think it's happening so.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Well, no, because when we go visit my mom, we
- 11:50Speaker 2: go around and there's a lot of our relatives that
- 11:53Speaker 2: are in this same small little cemetery, and it's like, hey,
- 11:56Speaker 2: that's oh geez great.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Not and look at all of the dead people. Yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 1: oh good, as long as you're getting your little amusement
- 12:06Speaker 1: out of IDUs. Now you're sayinguggesting that we just all
- 12:12Speaker 1: go under the sea. Yeah, and I'm doing big air
- 12:14Speaker 1: quotes here like you did earlier on the under this process.
- 12:17Speaker 1: They're down there. I did Amanda in the morning, did
- 12:20Speaker 1: ninety point seven, and now Amanda stills the seat. Let's see, well,
- 12:26Speaker 1: yesterday did he offer new bail restrictions? Of course, if
- 12:29Speaker 1: you weren't phoning along, he is in jail right now,
- 12:32Speaker 1: and they denied his bond, and it was going to
- 12:35Speaker 1: be his bail was like, hey, fifty million dollars, this
- 12:38Speaker 1: is what I'm gonna do, And they denied that yesterday
- 12:41Speaker 1: he said, okay, okay, not only will I pay that,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but I will make sure that there are no female
- 12:47Speaker 1: visitors at my home. They brought in this company that
- 12:51Speaker 1: was going to be like managing who's coming and going
- 12:54Speaker 1: from his home, and they were willing to offer up
- 12:56Speaker 1: like the visitor's log on it.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Reading these details, it was wild. He said, each night,
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'll report to you guys who's been in my home.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I will make sure that no electronics. He said he
- 13:06Speaker 2: would give up internet, his phone, everything to get out
- 13:10Speaker 2: of jail.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Wow, how kind of him.
- 13:12Speaker 2: And then the judge's like, there's witness intimidation, like you
- 13:16Speaker 2: have other people that can still do this, and was
- 13:19Speaker 2: going through some of these cases, they have all these
- 13:22Speaker 2: phone records of him as soon as some of these
- 13:24Speaker 2: people were subpoenaed that there were like fourteen phone calls
- 13:28Speaker 2: going through this. I mean, there's so much against him
- 13:31Speaker 2: right now, and he's just trying to play this. It's
- 13:34Speaker 2: not me. It wasn't me. I have no idea what
- 13:36Speaker 2: you're talking about. So unless he starts spitting out names
- 13:39Speaker 2: and acting as though he had no idea that these
- 13:42Speaker 2: people around him were doing this to these victims, I
- 13:45Speaker 2: don't know how he's gonna.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Get There's no way. He's not just like a bad guy,
- 13:48Speaker 1: like doing bad things, but he's playing the part of
- 13:51Speaker 1: like I don't say, like mobster, but like the intimidation
- 13:54Speaker 1: part of it, where he's just yes, this is just evil,
- 13:57Speaker 1: is what it is.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Well, his attorney yesterday said that the jail that did
- 14:00Speaker 2: he is in is notorious for poor conditions and violence,
- 14:03Speaker 2: and it is not fit for pre trial detention, basically
- 14:06Speaker 2: saying it's horrific and he needs to get out of there.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And the judges said nope, He's going to remain in
- 14:11Speaker 2: federal custody until his next hearing, which is October ninth.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I don't see him getting out at all, really, I
- 14:16Speaker 1: hope on In fact, those conditions sound just about right exactly.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I know, and I keep forgetting that this is happening.
- 14:23Speaker 1: The trailer for Ellen's Netflix comedy special was released yesterday.
- 14:27Speaker 1: It's called Ellen for Your Approval, and I like this
- 14:32Speaker 1: version of Ellen. Listen. Here's the problem.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I'm a comedian who got a talk show, and I
- 14:36Speaker 3: ended the show every day by saying, be kind to
- 14:38Speaker 3: one another. Had I ended my show by saying, go
- 14:41Speaker 3: thank yourselves? People would have been pleasantly surprised to find out.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I'm kind that's a good joke. That's a good one.
- 14:50Speaker 2: It is going to be streaming on September twenty fourth.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Really kind of sad though once you you know, I
- 14:54Speaker 2: haven't watched daytime television in a really long time.
- 14:57Speaker 1: But Ellen was just a staple growing up. Absolutely loved her.
- 15:00Speaker 1: But she's so alive though, so that's cool. Yeah, And
- 15:03Speaker 1: I mean she made a lot of jokes.
- 15:04Speaker 2: If you want to watch that full trailer, it's it's
- 15:06Speaker 2: gonna be a good one.
- 15:07Speaker 1: I think there for it, I kind of forget that
- 15:09Speaker 1: she is funny, yes, Like I just know her. I
- 15:11Speaker 1: just know she exists, you know, and I've heard her
- 15:14Speaker 1: maybe even hosting some award shows. That's probably what I
- 15:17Speaker 1: know her from the most. Probably. And they also voicing
- 15:19Speaker 1: that fish Nemo, I was no finding Nemo's the movie name,
- 15:24Speaker 1: the character Dorry. Thank you acting as though I don't know, Look,
- 15:30Speaker 1: you're just trying to run me. I would have loved
- 15:34Speaker 1: it if you didn't know. But you have your kids
- 15:35Speaker 1: seen finding all of course. Oh yes, that's a good time.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Was like for its time, like what mid two thousands,
- 15:41Speaker 1: it's a really good looking movie. It's been around really
- 15:45Speaker 1: and Taylor Swift shifting her focus as.
- 15:47Speaker 2: To what is going to happen after the Era's tour
- 15:50Speaker 2: and she is ready for a new era of her life.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Those close to her say that her and Trap not
- 15:53Speaker 2: only are really in love, they really are committed and
- 15:56Speaker 2: serious about their future and have talked very openly with
- 16:00Speaker 2: close friends about this next step.
- 16:02Speaker 1: They also do want to get married, and.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I guess I have felt that way, but there's a
- 16:08Speaker 2: lot of people that think he's not ready or she's
- 16:10Speaker 2: not ready, and they're gonna kind of wait it out.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I don't know when it's gonna be, but you gotta
- 16:15Speaker 2: think after her heiresstour wraps up in December, and this season.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Do you think he's going to retire after this season? Well,
- 16:22Speaker 1: the way it's going so far this year, he might
- 16:25Speaker 1: not have a choice. He might retire for him but
- 16:31Speaker 1: probably no, I don't know. He could. He could play
- 16:33Speaker 1: one more year.
- 16:34Speaker 2: One more year, and I guess it probably does depend
- 16:37Speaker 2: on what this life looks like for these.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Two, you know, like if they win another super Bowl
- 16:43Speaker 1: like that seems like it could probably be a good
- 16:44Speaker 1: way to go to go. Yes, but if they go really,
- 16:47Speaker 1: really close, it's like, ah, give me one more. It's
- 16:49Speaker 1: gonna be It's gonna be hard to say either way.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It'll be interesting to see what happens. And when he
- 16:55Speaker 1: gets down on one d out out, it'd be impressive.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It would be hard to say no. His friends say
- 17:10Speaker 1: he's talked about it, so there's a chance that trending.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Now here's what you need to know.
- 17:18Speaker 2: The International Brotherhood of Teamsters made a decision on the
- 17:21Speaker 2: endorsement for presidency yesterday, and they made a big one.
- 17:25Speaker 2: They said, we're supporting no one. They said, unfortunately, neither
- 17:28Speaker 2: major candidate will be able to make any serious commitments
- 17:32Speaker 2: to our union to ensure that the interests of working
- 17:35Speaker 2: people are always put before big business.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Well, I think we can all get down with that.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I don't know much about the teamsterairs, but apparently the
- 17:47Speaker 1: labor which is for everybody? Or why am I a
- 17:49Speaker 1: part of the Teamsters? Are you h part of the union?
- 17:54Speaker 1: But what what union?
- 17:56Speaker 2: I mean the International Brothers Teamsters labor Union.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I know there are unions, but it was just one
- 18:04Speaker 1: big one. Maybe I'm a dumbboat.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Yes, some expected the Federal Reserve here anownc yesterday afternoon
- 18:11Speaker 2: that the FED was reducing the key interest rate by
- 18:13Speaker 2: half a percentage point. With this drop, the federal funds
- 18:15Speaker 2: rate will move to around four point eight percent. It's
- 18:18Speaker 2: the lowest it's been since March and twenty twenty three.
- 18:20Speaker 2: The FED also said yesterday expects more interest rate cuts
- 18:23Speaker 2: by the end of the year. Mortgage rates did fall
- 18:25Speaker 2: last week, in case you missed it, to six point
- 18:27Speaker 2: one percent, which is a lowess they've been in September
- 18:31Speaker 2: twenty twenty two.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Yeah, what what I've read is that basically that the
- 18:35Speaker 1: mortgage rates already went down anticipating this cut. This this
- 18:40Speaker 1: rate cut so and from. And nobody really knows. Anybody
- 18:44Speaker 1: who tells you they know what the interest rates are
- 18:46Speaker 1: going to do, they're lying. I don't care if they're
- 18:48Speaker 1: a realtor a mortgage program. Nobody knows. Right, you can guess,
- 18:52Speaker 1: but uh, it sounds like hopefully anyway, they'll be going
- 18:55Speaker 1: down a little more of the last couple of years.
- 18:57Speaker 1: But anybody know, just smarterer than me forecasting it? How
- 19:01Speaker 1: do you know? But nobody knows. But here's that here's
- 19:03Speaker 1: what I feel pretty good about. And a lot of
- 19:05Speaker 1: people think like, oh, they were three percent a few
- 19:07Speaker 1: years ago. I'm waiting for it to go back down
- 19:09Speaker 1: to three. Well, that probably isn't going to happen. I
- 19:12Speaker 1: feel pretty good about saying that. And I'm an idiot
- 19:14Speaker 1: who doesn't know what unions are. Oh man, you're dropping
- 19:18Speaker 1: some knowledge this morning, Pike. Well, I'm one of the
- 19:20Speaker 1: people that didn't get in on that sweet sweet interest right,
- 19:23Speaker 1: so I'm one of the ones way waiting around even
- 19:26Speaker 1: people who did, like yourself, Amanda, there's a lot of
- 19:28Speaker 1: people who probably want to move into a bigger home
- 19:30Speaker 1: or a different area, but you're kind of stuck because
- 19:33Speaker 1: you're gonna be paying a lot more on a mortgage
- 19:35Speaker 1: because you're interest rate won't be three percent. I'm really
- 19:39Speaker 1: happy with where our decision and where we are. Yeah,
- 19:41Speaker 1: you got like, yeah, you timed a great you got
- 19:44Speaker 1: your home. You don't. I don't think you need a
- 19:46Speaker 1: bigger home, absolutely new home. It's it's great. I know
- 19:50Speaker 1: you complain a lot about your neighbors, but oh, come on,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I do not. That is not true. I'm just kidding.
- 20:00Speaker 4: If they're not listening, Ah, this guy, this guy, this guy, guy.
- 20:14Speaker 2: The craziest stuff for the first time ever, American travelers
- 20:18Speaker 2: with the US passport will be able to renew it online.
- 20:20Speaker 2: They did a little trial run and now they do
- 20:22Speaker 2: say that you will not have to fill out the
- 20:24Speaker 2: print paperwork application and mail a check in make an
- 20:29Speaker 2: appointment to renew it anymore. They also won't have to
- 20:31Speaker 2: do their photo somewhere else because it can be done
- 20:34Speaker 2: right from your cell phone and upload it online.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Not perfectly commentary do you have for this today? I'll
- 20:40Speaker 1: say it again that that's great. That'll save you thirty
- 20:43Speaker 1: minutes every ten years. So think about how much of
- 20:46Speaker 1: your wife you'l I'm back yep, No, it is nice.
- 20:49Speaker 1: There's a lot of things that I'm kind of waiting
- 20:51Speaker 1: to happen, like why do I have a wallet? You know,
- 20:54Speaker 1: why do I still have to carry a wallet? Like
- 20:55Speaker 1: when is that going to be a thing of the past.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Well, a lot of places you can just use your
- 20:59Speaker 2: phone for, but the big thing is like the ID,
- 21:02Speaker 2: the driver's license.
- 21:04Speaker 1: When's that gonna go digital? So that's the only thing
- 21:08Speaker 1: keeping me from in the otherwise, you know, unless you
- 21:12Speaker 1: want cash for a concession stand, hot dog or something.
- 21:14Speaker 1: But even they have cards now Apple Pay. Almost every
- 21:17Speaker 1: iPad people using iPads for payment, Like, yeah, you can
- 21:20Speaker 1: use your Apple pay on there. So I would love
- 21:22Speaker 1: to not have a bulky wallet making my rear look stupid.
- 21:26Speaker 2: You don't just have your wife carry your idea or
- 21:30Speaker 2: something like that.
- 21:30Speaker 1: No, yeah, but it seems like it's a big ask.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Sometimes apparently it triples the weight of her purse. Oh yeah,
- 21:37Speaker 1: I hate to even bother her with that sort of request.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Beautiful today, sunshine and a high of eighties.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Like a minute in the morning on a big nutty
- 21:49Speaker 1: eight point seven. Well like George Bush, George W. Bush
- 21:52Speaker 1: once wisely said fool me once, shame on you, uh
- 21:57Speaker 1: fool me, fool me again, and and uh uh you're
- 22:03Speaker 1: not gonna fool me again. Well, that's the case with
- 22:05Speaker 1: this woman who twice now in the last two years,
- 22:09Speaker 1: has been arrested for an adult toy related domestic battery.
- 22:14Speaker 1: What see Once that's just a you know, a one
- 22:18Speaker 1: time thing, but twice. We got a trend happening here
- 22:20Speaker 1: with Chelsea White. She's thirty five now this time around,
- 22:24Speaker 1: her and her boyfriend were in the kitchen about to
- 22:26Speaker 1: eat when the man her boyfriend, discovered that his missing
- 22:32Speaker 1: glass toy that belonged to him. So he's got his
- 22:35Speaker 1: own adult toy, made a glass He found it inside
- 22:40Speaker 1: of his girlfriend, Chelsea White's backpack inside of the home.
- 22:45Speaker 1: So he happened to be snooping through her backpack for
- 22:47Speaker 1: whatever reason. Honeywhere's your keys? Oh they're on your back
- 22:50Speaker 1: Let me look. Oh my god, is this my glass toy?
- 22:55Speaker 1: And he didn't like that. You didn't like that she
- 22:57Speaker 1: had his toy. So at that point a tussle ensued
- 23:01Speaker 1: when hustle Chelsea White, the thirty five year old, exchanged
- 23:06Speaker 1: blows with the man. After the pair briefly separated, the
- 23:10Speaker 1: man told cops that she began hitting him again after
- 23:13Speaker 1: he went to grab the backpack. So she really wanted
- 23:16Speaker 1: that glass toy. You know, when you're a kid, he
- 23:19Speaker 1: had a favorite toy. Yes, that's that's what this is.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It's kind of like that, but adult version. Yeah. She
- 23:24Speaker 1: was standing in the kitchen and at that point she
- 23:27Speaker 1: took the glass toy and threw it ouch. Now will
- 23:31Speaker 1: the toy? I would love to say the word, you know,
- 23:34Speaker 1: can I and I can? It's just like a little
- 23:36Speaker 1: you know, Yes, I'm trying to be trying to keep
- 23:38Speaker 1: it cleaner, but it's a funny word. We can all
- 23:40Speaker 1: say that, right. Well, it missed him instead hitting a door.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And this is the worst part. The sound of the
- 23:47Speaker 1: glass toy hitting the door and breaking woke up the
- 23:50Speaker 1: couple's child. Oh see, now it's not fun anymore. Yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: this is going on in the kitchen before. But just uh,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I mean, I hope it never happened to you. But
- 23:59Speaker 1: he ever is a kid. Remember waking up and hearing
- 24:01Speaker 1: your parents fighting, traumatizing thing, regardless of the subject matter.
- 24:06Speaker 1: But to find out that this was the reason. Yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 1: she's not facing charges of domestic battery. And again this
- 24:13Speaker 1: happened before a similar incident. This is wild. Yeah, you
- 24:17Speaker 1: just got like you got to take the toys away.
- 24:19Speaker 1: You know. It's like again, that's what.
- 24:22Speaker 2: The sentence is going to be YouTube. You're no longer
- 24:24Speaker 2: going to be able to play with your toy.
- 24:26Speaker 1: You can't share the toys kids, You're just not going
- 24:29Speaker 1: to have the toy at all. God like it a
- 24:30Speaker 1: minute in the morning on Big Oh, here we go again,
- 24:38Speaker 1: the Toy Hall of Fame twenty twenty four edition. They've
- 24:42Speaker 1: now named their finalists to get into the Toy Hall
- 24:45Speaker 1: of Fame, and it's amazing to me that a lot
- 24:48Speaker 1: of these aren't in yet because they've been doing it
- 24:50Speaker 1: since like the sixties. So this year's finalists include balloons,
- 24:56Speaker 1: which like just late ex balloons like just yourus not
- 25:01Speaker 1: hot air. Do you consider that a.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Toy though, I mean that don't and for me it's
- 25:04Speaker 2: a decoration, right, some of this gets a little kind
- 25:07Speaker 2: of gray as far as what's a toy, but no
- 25:09Speaker 2: balloons are in on the finalist list anyway.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Trampoline, let's go. I mean, if that's going to be
- 25:15Speaker 1: a toy that should have been in decades ago. The
- 25:18Speaker 1: most fun I like, as a kid, the most fun
- 25:20Speaker 1: you had was either you had the trampoline or you
- 25:23Speaker 1: had the friend who had the trampoline. And some of
- 25:26Speaker 1: them were even cool and didn't have to have the
- 25:28Speaker 1: like stupid padding on the side.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We survive truly you fell through or just like that girl, Oh.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Yeah, to see. I was. I don't know how I
- 25:38Speaker 1: accumulated this money, but when I was young, I had
- 25:41Speaker 1: allowance or something. I remember I had like four or
- 25:43Speaker 1: five hundred bucks, man, I know, I know, and I
- 25:47Speaker 1: wanted to buy trampoline and so my parents let me
- 25:49Speaker 1: and it was the best thing I ever did. I mean,
- 25:51Speaker 1: we had it. We had it for years until there
- 25:53Speaker 1: was a big hole in it. But there was so
- 25:55Speaker 1: much fun on that, like the whole underneath it that. Yeah,
- 26:00Speaker 1: had like sleepovers out there. You sleep on the trampoline,
- 26:04Speaker 1: double bouncing somebody, you know where you're both sorn? Are
- 26:08Speaker 1: you a kidding me?
- 26:09Speaker 2: That was my favorite when I would just be sitting
- 26:11Speaker 2: there like that was my and you just laugh. It's
- 26:14Speaker 2: amazing hours. Yeah, it's a great workout so so far,
- 26:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna put that on.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yes, that's on the Apples. The apples. Oh, that is
- 26:23Speaker 1: a that's a good one. It's been a while. That's
- 26:27Speaker 1: like a we put down a car that says like
- 26:30Speaker 1: a random word or something. Yeah, something like that.
- 26:33Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know what other board games have
- 26:36Speaker 2: made the list, right, that's a new ish one, right,
- 26:38Speaker 2: like relatively, I would say, I mean probably the two thousands.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I always hated it. Everybody apples to apples and
- 26:46Speaker 1: then what's the other one, what's like the dirtier version
- 26:48Speaker 1: of apples Apples Cards against Humanity? See to me, like
- 26:53Speaker 1: it's not original people, you know what I mean, Like
- 26:55Speaker 1: it's it's I'd rather make stuff up myself, and maybe
- 26:58Speaker 1: that's just me, you know what I mean. People want
- 27:00Speaker 1: to play and say, oh, Dave's hilarious, look at the car.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Do you put down? It's like, well, he didn't. He
- 27:05Speaker 1: didn't come up with it, he just put the card down.
- 27:08Speaker 1: It's always entertaining. I enjoy games like that. Apple Sapples
- 27:11Speaker 1: was around since nineteen ninety nine. What are you hear?
- 27:16Speaker 1: I know other on the toy Finalist Hall of Fame
- 27:19Speaker 1: lists here choose your own adventure game books. Didn't really
- 27:22Speaker 1: get into those, you know, the books where you choose
- 27:25Speaker 1: your own adventure. You I create the plot yourself. I
- 27:28Speaker 1: don't know. It sounds like a lot of work remember
- 27:30Speaker 1: those books at all? Okay, so that's safe to say.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Not getting in hesse toy trucks, some sort of toy
- 27:36Speaker 1: truck also remote controlled vehicles, and then finally rounding it out,
- 27:42Speaker 1: the stick horse, just the old gidda up on the
- 27:46Speaker 1: stick horse, stick horse, stick phony. You ever have one,
- 27:50Speaker 1: fee corse like I think we had one, but it
- 27:52Speaker 1: was always like your parents or your grandparents from their childhood.
- 27:56Speaker 1: What was the one that you said before the stick horse?
- 27:58Speaker 1: Hess toy trucks. Ok. I looked that one up and
- 28:00Speaker 1: thought there was one more remote control vehicle. Oh yeah
- 28:03Speaker 1: RC heck yeah, remote can. I mean there's there's so
- 28:07Speaker 1: much fun to be had with that. Oh yeah, it's
- 28:10Speaker 1: your first dabbling, like driving as a kid. You're like, oh,
- 28:12Speaker 1: this is fun. I can't wait to get a driver's license.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I still think, out of everything you just said, I'm
- 28:18Speaker 2: going to have to go trampoline, let's put that one in.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the process. Yeah, so it's a public vote.
- 28:24Speaker 1: So they posted on their website. If you want to
- 28:26Speaker 1: actually participate, you can go to Google and look it up. Okay,
- 28:31Speaker 1: so I'm my vote would be apples to apples, RC
- 28:36Speaker 1: cars and the trampoline. See I'm going to go trampoline
- 28:40Speaker 1: for sure, but you know you're going stick horses in
- 28:43Speaker 1: for me. And then unpopular opinion, I'm going to put
- 28:45Speaker 1: balloon in. I mean balloons come out. Water balloons. See
- 28:48Speaker 1: water balloons? Yes, did you know we just had a
- 28:51Speaker 1: friend over the summer. They have reusable water balloons. Now
- 28:56Speaker 1: how are they isn't that crazy? Yeah, they just showed you.
- 28:59Speaker 2: They like they don't explode like they like open but
- 29:02Speaker 2: they don't rip. So they're just a little bit thicker
- 29:05Speaker 2: material easier to fill up.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I'd have to see a wild cron is. They're incredibly
- 29:10Speaker 1: hard to fill up, and you're gonna end up breaking
- 29:13Speaker 1: it around the sink when the little band goes around
- 29:16Speaker 1: the sink.
- 29:17Speaker 2: There's nothing worse than when you have water balloon mess
- 29:20Speaker 2: all over your yard and you try to pick up
- 29:21Speaker 2: all those little pieces.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Though it's all worth it. It's all worth there's a drilling
- 29:25Speaker 1: somebody with a water balloon when they're not expecting it.
- 29:28Speaker 1: It's been so long, I want to do that today.
- 29:30Speaker 1: You want to have a water fight. Absolutely, You might
- 29:32Speaker 1: want to put on a different colored T shirt first
