- 1:42Speaker 5: All right, all right. Good morning, everyone. Steve Elsie here
- 1:46Speaker 5: filling in for my brother on 94.9 News Now. Good
- 1:51Speaker 5: morning and welcome aboard the train. We had a great
- 1:54Speaker 5: show today. Lots of great people coming on today that
- 1:58Speaker 5: I'm very excited about. 6.30 to 7, the Chestnut Theater
- 2:04Speaker 5: up in Norwich. Going to talk all things arts that
- 2:07Speaker 5: are happening there. That great, great show. New theater that's there.
- 2:12Speaker 5: I was there not too long ago and sort of
- 2:16Speaker 5: blown away. I walked in. It's an old fire station
- 2:20Speaker 5: and they converted it, obviously, to a theater. But it's
- 2:23Speaker 5: like a 67 seat theater that is just magic. It
- 2:28Speaker 5: feels so off Broadway. And I was in there so
- 2:30Speaker 5: inspired trying to do some some work with them musically.
- 2:35Speaker 5: But they'll be on and talking about a lot of
- 2:37Speaker 5: great things that is happening. From 7 to 7.30, Rocky
- 2:41Speaker 5: and I, we're going to have a little discussion. We're
- 2:44Speaker 5: going to have a little talk about the world beyond
- 2:49Speaker 5: into the religious realm, spiritual realm. We're going to have
- 2:53Speaker 5: a conversation and see where that goes. That's going to
- 2:55Speaker 5: be great. Rocky's great. Good friend of mine. And I
- 3:00Speaker 5: respect him quite a bit and all his beliefs. So
- 3:04Speaker 5: this isn't some kind of a A fight in any way,
- 3:07Speaker 5: it's a conversation because I truly admire how much he
- 3:10Speaker 5: believes and what he believes. And this is sort of
- 3:13Speaker 5: the conversation I want to have today is just getting
- 3:17Speaker 5: to know what other people think and why. And that's important.
- 3:22Speaker 5: When you come to the table, whether it be on politics, religion, whatever,
- 3:26Speaker 5: you come to the table and you try to understand
- 3:30Speaker 5: each other instead of being keyboard heroes and fighting each
- 3:33Speaker 5: other and just... yelling. That just gets nowhere. So I
- 3:38Speaker 5: want to hear what Rocky has to say, and he's
- 3:40Speaker 5: so kind to come on kind of early, but sort
- 3:43Speaker 5: of prime time, if you will. From 7 to 7.30.
- 3:48Speaker 5: And 7.30 to 8, we have a soul coach, Jessica Broder,
- 3:52Speaker 5: coming on. Goodness gracious, and that is going to blow
- 3:55Speaker 5: you away. I'm telling you, you're going to The things
- 4:00Speaker 5: that are going to come to life right before your
- 4:02Speaker 5: eyes when she talks about how you operate through the
- 4:08Speaker 5: stars and beyond is going to blow you away. I
- 4:10Speaker 5: think you're going to really find that segment pretty amazing
- 4:15Speaker 5: and pretty eye-opening and enlightening. It's just one of those
- 4:20Speaker 5: things you can reflect upon yourself on some of the
- 4:26Speaker 5: things that she's going to talk about. to see where
- 4:29Speaker 5: you sit in life and how things are working out
- 4:31Speaker 5: for you. And that's what a soul coach does. And,
- 4:34Speaker 5: but we'll learn more about that between the seven 30
- 4:38Speaker 5: and eight hour and that eight to eight 30 lady
- 4:42Speaker 5: Mo coming on. She may join us a little before
- 4:45Speaker 5: that as well. And we're just going to have a
- 4:48Speaker 5: nice conversation. My guess is we're going to continue the
- 4:52Speaker 5: conversation from goodness gracious, because it's going to be a
- 4:55Speaker 5: pretty big topic today. Uh, and I think people are
- 4:59Speaker 5: going to have a lot of questions and we'll see
- 5:01Speaker 5: where that goes. Um, but Lady Mo coming on. And
- 5:04Speaker 5: then finally from eight 30 to nine, the intellectual wizard
- 5:09Speaker 5: Hayward Gatch will be on with me. And I'm not
- 5:12Speaker 5: sure what we're going to talk about there. We went
- 5:13Speaker 5: back and forth a few different times and, um, but
- 5:17Speaker 5: he has a lot to say and he's always been
- 5:21Speaker 5: somebody that, uh, when he comes on this show, you know,
- 5:25Speaker 5: you just got to listen to, he's got a lot
- 5:27Speaker 5: of facts, uh, backing everything he says. He's got a
- 5:29Speaker 5: lot of deep knowledge and I respect him. Um, I
- 5:33Speaker 5: respect everything that he says and does. And I, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 5: I take everything he says very seriously. It's like, cause
- 5:38Speaker 5: he's done a lot of research and he's just one
- 5:40Speaker 5: of those interesting people that, uh, when you talk to him, um,
- 5:44Speaker 5: you just get this, you get this feeling of just like, wow,
- 5:48Speaker 5: this is, this is somebody who has done a deep
- 5:51Speaker 5: dive on this topic and, um, and he's great. So
- 5:54Speaker 5: he'll be on. at the 8.30 to 9 time frame,
- 5:59Speaker 5: which is when I'll end. That's when the show will
- 6:00Speaker 5: end at that point for me. So again, Steve Elzey here.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Happy to be here. Interesting story coming in here today.
- 6:09Speaker 5: So I was told to be here about 10 of
- 6:12Speaker 5: 6 to kind of get ready. And got into my
- 6:18Speaker 5: car and started driving. It takes me about 30 minutes
- 6:20Speaker 5: to get here. So I was like, I'm going to
- 6:21Speaker 5: get there a little early. I'm going to go to
- 6:22Speaker 5: Dunkin' Donuts over here in Ledgerd. And, you know, get
- 6:28Speaker 5: a donut, get a get a get a coffee, get
- 6:30Speaker 5: myself ready to go. And as I'm pulling up to
- 6:34Speaker 5: Dunkin Donuts and a motorcycle coming the other way. Appears
- 6:41Speaker 5: to try to be getting into Dunkin Donuts, but going
- 6:44Speaker 5: way too fast, way too fast and slides. Literally slide
- 6:49Speaker 5: like kind of like puts the bike down and slides
- 6:53Speaker 5: probably 25 feet. and sort of ends up right in
- 6:57Speaker 5: front of my car, probably 15 feet. Like I saw
- 7:00Speaker 5: it coming out, saw it coming at me. And I'm like,
- 7:03Speaker 5: Oh my God, this guy, this motorcycle is going to
- 7:05Speaker 5: hit me. Um, you know, sparks are sort of flying everywhere.
- 7:09Speaker 5: And this guy's sort of like riding the bike. So
- 7:13Speaker 5: it stops and he seems to be okay from the get-go.
- 7:17Speaker 5: And he's trying to pick up his bike and behind,
- 7:19Speaker 5: and like, this is a pretty busy part of, of,
- 7:22Speaker 5: of ledger, right, right at the, There's a four corners there.
- 7:25Speaker 5: There's a Dunkin Donuts. There's a pizza place on the
- 7:29Speaker 5: other side. You know, lights, all kinds of things. And
- 7:34Speaker 5: so I get out of my car and this guy
- 7:36Speaker 5: is he's trying to. So here's the thing is, is
- 7:39Speaker 5: when as I kind of look at him now, he's
- 7:42Speaker 5: a bit older. He's he and he can't pick up
- 7:46Speaker 5: his bike like he cannot pick it up from the grounds.
- 7:51Speaker 5: to get it to stand up so he could then
- 7:53Speaker 5: try to ride it. He couldn't pick it up. So thankfully,
- 7:57Speaker 5: another car that was sort of behind the other lane,
- 8:01Speaker 5: his lane that he came from, gets out, guy gets out,
- 8:04Speaker 5: I get out of my car. And together, we pick
- 8:08Speaker 5: up this bike. And by the way, I'm not a
- 8:10Speaker 5: motorcycle rider. I think I've ridden one one time in
- 8:14Speaker 5: my life. And it was probably one time too many.
- 8:19Speaker 5: But I can tell you that that it was heavy.
- 8:22Speaker 5: It was really heavy. Like the bike was really heavy,
- 8:26Speaker 5: like surprisingly heavy. And this guy is this older gentleman
- 8:30Speaker 5: who was, who was wet because it's like, it's sprinkling
- 8:35Speaker 5: out or it's, or it's foggy out. Or so his,
- 8:38Speaker 5: his face is like completely drenched. Um, and he was
- 8:42Speaker 5: wearing this sort of cosmetic helmet, I would say, you know,
- 8:46Speaker 5: had like a, uh, a poofy thing on it. And, and, uh,
- 8:50Speaker 5: And his bike was sort of decorated with backpacks that
- 8:55Speaker 5: had some cosmetic stuff on it with some tassels and
- 9:00Speaker 5: kind of things on it. So first thing I say is,
- 9:04Speaker 5: are you okay? And the guy seemed absolutely lost. Lost. Like,
- 9:12Speaker 5: couldn't believe what had happened. Almost like he was in shock.
- 9:15Speaker 5: And I said, well, let me help you out. And
- 9:17Speaker 5: me and this other gentleman... picked up the bike and,
- 9:21Speaker 5: you know, like I said, it was heavy. This guy,
- 9:23Speaker 5: this older gentleman was not, not going to pick this up.
- 9:26Speaker 5: This bike was not getting out of the road. So
- 9:29Speaker 5: he picks it up and he tries to start it.
- 9:30Speaker 5: And of course, of course it doesn't start. It's all,
- 9:33Speaker 5: it's all not working right. So together we move it
- 9:38Speaker 5: off the road. And then I kind of pull into
- 9:41Speaker 5: Dunkin' Donuts myself, but, but, but the other guy, we
- 9:44Speaker 5: pull them up before we get them off before I
- 9:46Speaker 5: sort of let them go and I make sure he's OK,
- 9:48Speaker 5: make sure he's fine. So my question and that was
- 9:52Speaker 5: my that was my good deed for the day, I guess.
- 9:56Speaker 5: My question, though, and it was sort of reaffirmed here,
- 10:00Speaker 5: is those of you who ride bikes, you know, what
- 10:04Speaker 5: is this? Today is the day where it's foggy, misting.
- 10:11Speaker 5: You know, does this affect your writing? Should you be
- 10:14Speaker 5: writing in this? Should this guy be writing to this?
- 10:16Speaker 5: That's question A. Question B is, is there an age
- 10:20Speaker 5: if this guy couldn't pick up his bike? Is there
- 10:23Speaker 5: an age that we should be saying, OK, you know,
- 10:27Speaker 5: you know, in part to be able to ride a bike?
- 10:31Speaker 5: You have to be able to pick it up off
- 10:33Speaker 5: the ground in case it falls down. You have to
- 10:36Speaker 5: be able to do some certain part of the lifting
- 10:39Speaker 5: process to work with it. I don't know. But I
- 10:41Speaker 5: can tell you that this was a pretty frail individual.
- 10:46Speaker 5: And I felt sorry for him. He was extremely distraught
- 10:49Speaker 5: over this. I'm sure his bike suffered a whole bunch
- 10:52Speaker 5: of damage. And he.
- 10:56Speaker 5: It was very thankful that we helped him because he
- 10:59Speaker 5: just couldn't, couldn't pick up the bike. Couldn't do it.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Couldn't do it. So if you're out there and you
- 11:04Speaker 5: know anything about bikes and you want to have a
- 11:05Speaker 5: conversation here, because this is, I felt for him and
- 11:10Speaker 5: I'm thinking, wow, I mean, you know, listen, the one
- 11:14Speaker 5: time I was on a bike, you know, I'm riding
- 11:17Speaker 5: it around and I think I just wrote it around
- 11:19Speaker 5: a neighborhood and I felt very free. And I understand that,
- 11:25Speaker 5: part of it. And I, and I, it was, it
- 11:27Speaker 5: was really nice to feel the wind in your hair,
- 11:30Speaker 5: to feel like just not surrounded by anything and just going, going,
- 11:34Speaker 5: you know, fast and sort of furious and sort of
- 11:38Speaker 5: having that, that exhilarating energy as the wind gushes through
- 11:41Speaker 5: your face. It's, it's wonderful. But like, you also feel
- 11:45Speaker 5: extremely vulnerable and extremely vulnerable. Like I couldn't imagine like,
- 11:50Speaker 5: you know, a motorcycle in New York city with all
- 11:52Speaker 5: the traffic or, I don't know. I, I, at that moment,
- 11:56Speaker 5: I'm thinking to myself, boy, those who ride bikes, you guys,
- 12:01Speaker 5: you guys are good riders, man. You guys, you really
- 12:04Speaker 5: got to have your stuff together. If, if you're just
- 12:07Speaker 5: going to go through all the traffic and just not
- 12:10Speaker 5: worry about other things and, and be able to just navigate, uh,
- 12:14Speaker 5: at high speeds like that. Um, Because as I watched this,
- 12:18Speaker 5: I thought, this guy, it's just very vulnerable. He's very frail.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Nothing protecting him at all. Obviously, he tried to turn
- 12:28Speaker 5: and went too far down, slid, couldn't pull out of
- 12:30Speaker 5: the turn. And he almost killed himself. I almost ran
- 12:34Speaker 5: over him today. Thankfully, the weight of his bike stopped
- 12:41Speaker 5: before it got to my car. But boy, that would
- 12:44Speaker 5: have been an interesting start to the morning right there.
- 12:47Speaker 5: I may not have been here had I run over
- 12:50Speaker 5: the bike, I can tell you that. But so anyway,
- 12:54Speaker 5: if you've got anything about motorcycles and want to, you know,
- 12:57Speaker 5: chime into this conversation, you know, you can call obviously
- 13:01Speaker 5: 860-464-9490 and share your insights about how you do safety.
- 13:06Speaker 5: You know, how does that work? Um, cause I, I, uh,
- 13:16Speaker 5: I don't see it. I see it. It's very, I, I,
- 13:19Speaker 5: I can't do it. It wouldn't be for me, but
- 13:21Speaker 5: for those who can do it, boy, man, I'd love
- 13:23Speaker 5: to hear your story. Cause it's pretty incredible, pretty incredible, um,
- 13:28Speaker 5: on how you can navigate all that and not get killed.
- 13:31Speaker 5: I would be killed. I'd be dead in a minute,
- 13:33Speaker 5: in a minute.
- 13:35Speaker 7: Uh, yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 5: So that's, uh, that's my interesting story. A couple of
- 13:39Speaker 5: things about, uh, you know, what I've done recently that
- 13:42Speaker 5: I wanted to just, uh, make some notes of here. Uh,
- 13:46Speaker 5: tell you, I just recently played, uh, the Waterford public library,
- 13:51Speaker 5: you know, switching gears here a little bit. And it was,
- 13:56Speaker 5: I was reminded again, the importance of a library in
- 14:01Speaker 5: a town. And let me elaborate. I, uh, I had
- 14:06Speaker 5: a gig, uh, I think it was last Saturday at
- 14:08Speaker 5: the Waterford public library. And it was the final day
- 14:11Speaker 5: of the, um, of summer reading for kids. They have
- 14:17Speaker 5: like a weekly thing, events, you know, performers. And I
- 14:22Speaker 5: was sort of the final performer. They did one story,
- 14:24Speaker 5: one more story. It was great. But the library was
- 14:27Speaker 5: packed and I'm in the library and looking at just
- 14:33Speaker 5: the things that are going around on the flyers that
- 14:36Speaker 5: are up on the bulletin board. And I, like I said,
- 14:39Speaker 5: I was reminded at how powerful the, a library is
- 14:42Speaker 5: to a town and to the folks of a town
- 14:46Speaker 5: who look for things to do, look for clubs to join,
- 14:51Speaker 5: you know, look for activities to get involved in. It
- 14:54Speaker 5: was all of that and more. You know, I haven't
- 14:57Speaker 5: been to, you know, I play a lot of libraries,
- 14:59Speaker 5: but I haven't been to the Waterford Library and had
- 15:02Speaker 5: time to look around like I had this time in
- 15:05Speaker 5: quite some time since my kids were there, really. And
- 15:11Speaker 5: I was, I was impressed. Uh, I was very impressed
- 15:14Speaker 5: at the library. Now I've, I've also been in the
- 15:15Speaker 5: new London library, the same, the same sort of thing, um,
- 15:18Speaker 5: in new London. It was, you know, all set up
- 15:22Speaker 5: for community, for community folks to go in and to
- 15:26Speaker 5: find something to do, find a hobby, find a group
- 15:29Speaker 5: to join, you know, find a good book, learn, read
- 15:33Speaker 5: all of it. Um, It was excellent. And I just
- 15:37Speaker 5: wanted to kind of give a shout out to the
- 15:39Speaker 5: Waterford Public Library because they did such a great job
- 15:41Speaker 5: with the events. Every time I play there, whether it
- 15:44Speaker 5: be outside, inside, inside, it was this time, it was
- 15:46Speaker 5: kind of hot, there's always a good feeling. It's always
- 15:51Speaker 5: just positivity. And after the show, you know, Waterford recently
- 16:01Speaker 5: has put together on the duck pond there. They've kind
- 16:04Speaker 5: of rebuilt it, thanks to Rob Brule, with a great
- 16:10Speaker 5: landscaping and boardwalks or cement walks, I guess, and made
- 16:15Speaker 5: a really great walking park. And, you know, and so
- 16:21Speaker 5: after the show, you saw all the kids go over
- 16:23Speaker 5: to the duck pond and walk around it and feed
- 16:25Speaker 5: the turtles. I don't know. Listen, if you guys are
- 16:27Speaker 5: down there at Waterford, you know, and you go to
- 16:32Speaker 5: the duck pond, if you go on the big part
- 16:34Speaker 5: of the bridge, there's giant turtles in there. It's amazing.
- 16:37Speaker 5: It's just, it's such a great learning experience or just
- 16:40Speaker 5: a relaxing experience. I go there quite a bit and
- 16:44Speaker 5: just walk around. It's just a nice, nice place. And
- 16:46Speaker 5: I remember where Rob, Rob Brule, I used to work
- 16:48Speaker 5: with Rob and years ago and before he was first
- 16:53Speaker 5: selectman of Waterford. And he would tell me these ideas
- 16:58Speaker 5: he had that what he would do while, while, while
- 17:01Speaker 5: first selectman. And it was, this park was one of the,
- 17:06Speaker 5: one of the, uh, sort of like the focus, uh, points.
- 17:10Speaker 5: And he had his, all his ideas, how he was
- 17:11Speaker 5: going to pull it together. And we'd kind of, you know,
- 17:14Speaker 5: chime about it over coffee, you know, before we started our,
- 17:17Speaker 5: our daily work back then, this was like 2017, 18, 19. And,
- 17:22Speaker 5: you know, and then, you know, some years later he
- 17:25Speaker 5: becomes first selectman, you know, again, more power to Rob
- 17:27Speaker 5: and does a great job. And, uh, all that he
- 17:31Speaker 5: had talked about, and I remember it, you know, is
- 17:34Speaker 5: sort of there. And he did it. You know, so
- 17:39Speaker 5: Rob has been, Rob has certainly been a powerful force
- 17:43Speaker 5: for the town of Waterford. But anyway, I just wanted
- 17:45Speaker 5: to say, Waterford Public Library, great job. We have a
- 17:47Speaker 5: great show coming up. And let's get to, we're going
- 17:51Speaker 5: to get to a break right now, and then we're
- 17:52Speaker 5: going to pull on our Our first guest, which will
- 17:54Speaker 5: be the Chestnut, Joanne from the Chestnut Theater, the executive director.
- 17:58Speaker 5: I look forward to chatting with her right after the break.

- 29:01Speaker 5: of the Chestnut Street Playhouse and someone I've just recently
- 29:05Speaker 5: met and just an amazing person, what she's got going
- 29:09Speaker 5: up there. Joanne, are you there?
- 29:10Speaker 27: I am.
- 29:11Speaker 38: Good morning.
- 29:12Speaker 5: Hey, welcome. Welcome here to 94.9. And how are you today?
- 29:18Speaker 38: I'm doing fabulous. I'm very excited to be on today's
- 29:21Speaker 38: show and very privileged that you asked me to talk
- 29:24Speaker 38: about Chestnut Street Playhouse today.
- 29:26Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, in our conversations before that we've had
- 29:30Speaker 5: over the past few months, you know, you were just
- 29:34Speaker 5: sort of telling me a little bit about what happens there.
- 29:38Speaker 5: You know, you got a nice fall, you know, season
- 29:42Speaker 5: coming up. What's coming up to the fall that we
- 29:44Speaker 5: all should know about? And tell us a little bit
- 29:46Speaker 5: about the theater itself.
- 29:48Speaker 38: Sure, great, thanks. So the theater is a community theater
- 29:52Speaker 38: in downtown Norwich, Connecticut, and we're built on volunteers. So
- 29:57Speaker 38: When I say we're a nonprofit, all of our actors,
- 30:00Speaker 38: actresses do it for the love of the show. They're
- 30:02Speaker 38: all volunteers. So that means all the ticketing revenue that
- 30:06Speaker 38: we earned leaves the building open, pays for our operations.
- 30:10Speaker 38: And then every fall we have a golf tournament that,
- 30:12Speaker 38: you know, pays for all of our, well, not all
- 30:15Speaker 38: of our, but for most of the building and repairs
- 30:18Speaker 38: and maintenance. But our theater is a cultural hub downtown Norwich, Connecticut,
- 30:23Speaker 38: and we just open it up to the community. We
- 30:26Speaker 38: do five productions a year, and then we bookend the
- 30:29Speaker 38: productions with community, just like ball festivals. We have the
- 30:35Speaker 38: play fest and any other options for community to come
- 30:39Speaker 38: in and use our building to support their needs.
- 30:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and a little bit about the building now. This
- 30:46Speaker 5: was an old firehouse. Do I have that right?
- 30:49Speaker 38: You do. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, funny, exciting history that
- 30:53Speaker 38: we have there when people come in. We're a 1900
- 30:56Speaker 38: firehouse where Norwich hosts one.
- 30:58Speaker 5: So cool.
- 30:59Speaker 38: We repurposed it into a 67-seat black box theater. One
- 31:04Speaker 38: of the things that I always love to tell people
- 31:05Speaker 38: is when they come into the box office, when they
- 31:07Speaker 38: enter in for a production, we welcome them in the
- 31:10Speaker 38: horse barn. So the horse barn where the horses used
- 31:13Speaker 38: to stay to pull the fire apparatuses is where we
- 31:17Speaker 38: repurposed into our box office. There's culture everywhere. The fire
- 31:22Speaker 38: department has given us historical photos throughout the years, the
- 31:25Speaker 38: city of Norwich. So it really is a trip down
- 31:29Speaker 38: memory lane. And when you look at the front of
- 31:31Speaker 38: our building, the three bay windows are the old firehouse
- 31:34Speaker 38: doors that those horse-drawn apparatuses would pull in and out. Generationally,
- 31:40Speaker 38: it was opened probably until about 20, well, 30 years ago.
- 31:45Speaker 38: And honestly, the person that's doing Hamlet, we'll get to
- 31:49Speaker 38: that in a second. He is the son of a
- 31:52Speaker 38: firefighter that retired out of that house. So Chestnut Street
- 31:56Speaker 38: Playhouse is very fortunate to host his retirement party for
- 31:59Speaker 38: a full circle moment.
- 32:00Speaker 6: Wow.
- 32:01Speaker 5: You know, I love the history that's there. And that's
- 32:05Speaker 5: the first thing, you know, when I went in there,
- 32:07Speaker 5: you know, and saw it, you know, not too long ago,
- 32:09Speaker 5: that's the first thing that captured my imagination was just
- 32:12Speaker 5: this history, this old firehouse look. And then when you
- 32:17Speaker 5: walk in, you know, the sort of the concessions area,
- 32:21Speaker 5: It's got a very cool appeal as well. It's very artsy. And,
- 32:26Speaker 5: you know, the magic is when you walk through those
- 32:28Speaker 5: doors into the theater. For me. I just felt like
- 32:31Speaker 5: I was on an off-Broadway theater somewhere. And the black
- 32:35Speaker 5: box theater, the seats, the lighting grid, the attention to
- 32:41Speaker 5: detail in the production that was there at the time
- 32:43Speaker 5: that I saw it, it was just magic. It really was.
- 32:47Speaker 5: And I felt so inspired by it all. I felt
- 32:52Speaker 5: like this is a space where productions can be born
- 32:57Speaker 5: and grown. and really sort of, like, come into their own.
- 33:00Speaker 5: It's a space where so many people can creatively think
- 33:06Speaker 5: of something they want to give back to the community
- 33:10Speaker 5: in the form of theater or music or what have you,
- 33:11Speaker 5: and they can just do it right there. It's just
- 33:14Speaker 5: so powerful. And it's not far from the town hall, right? It's, like,
- 33:19Speaker 5: right there. Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 33:22Speaker 38: We're in the shadows of town hall.
- 33:24Speaker 39: Yeah.
- 33:25Speaker 38: You know, we're literally in downtown city of Norwich. We
- 33:29Speaker 38: have that iconic city hall building. We have the iconic
- 33:33Speaker 38: five-way stop in the middle. We have our main street.
- 33:35Speaker 38: And then, you know, we have us. And our building
- 33:39Speaker 38: just stands very tall as a cultural bookmark in downtown Norwich, Connecticut. But, yeah,
- 33:45Speaker 38: our theater is very transformative. Every room has a purpose.
- 33:51Speaker 38: And I love the way you say how you walk
- 33:52Speaker 38: in and into this theater, and it's just inspiring. For
- 33:56Speaker 38: those that don't know, Black Box Theater is just that.
- 33:59Speaker 38: You know, take a room, paint all the walls black,
- 34:02Speaker 38: and it's a blank canvas. So our community comes in,
- 34:05Speaker 38: and they think creatively, and then they build that thought
- 34:09Speaker 38: process for that show in that moment. And every time
- 34:13Speaker 38: a show is taken down, they strip it down to
- 34:16Speaker 38: the black box, and then it's rebuilt again for the
- 34:19Speaker 38: next one.
- 34:20Speaker 40: So.
- 34:21Speaker 38: No matter how many times you come into our 67-seat
- 34:24Speaker 38: Black Box Theater, you will be in a different dimension,
- 34:27Speaker 38: a different thought process. And that brings us into our
- 34:30Speaker 38: fall lineup. It's crazy what we have going on there.
- 34:34Speaker 5: Yeah, let's hear it.
- 34:34Speaker 38: We're very fortunate to have so many availability and music
- 34:39Speaker 38: productions and arts available to the surrounding community for the fall.
- 34:44Speaker 5: So you said it was volunteers. So if someone wants
- 34:49Speaker 5: to get involved, how do they do that?
- 34:51Speaker 38: Sure, yeah, they can reach out to our website, chestnutstreetplayhouse.org.
- 34:58Speaker 38: They're always looking for volunteers. We have volunteers that run concession.
- 35:03Speaker 38: We have volunteers that run box office. We have volunteers
- 35:06Speaker 38: that run load-in. You know, we are the heart of volunteers.
- 35:11Speaker 38: We couldn't pay these people enough. And, you know, they
- 35:15Speaker 38: get this value out of it. They get a family.
- 35:17Speaker 38: They get a purpose. And I think, you know, the
- 35:20Speaker 38: thing that I like to express most about community theater is,
- 35:24Speaker 38: you know, we're that entry level. You know, we're there for, hey,
- 35:29Speaker 38: I think I might like to learn how to run
- 35:31Speaker 38: a soundboard.
- 35:32Speaker 41: Yep.
- 35:33Speaker 38: Or I've always enjoyed lighting. I'd love to learn how
- 35:36Speaker 38: to do lighting track or be a director or stage manager.
- 35:40Speaker 38: So we get a lot of these junior high, high
- 35:41Speaker 38: schoolers that just want to kind of check things out.
- 35:45Speaker 38: And we welcome them with open arms.
- 35:47Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 38: Yeah. It's just incredible. We've had a few people that
- 35:51Speaker 38: have started out as Tiny Tim and the Christmas Carol
- 35:54Speaker 38: and ended up being the lead actress in Mean Girls
- 35:58Speaker 38: with our high school, and now they're off to New
- 36:00Speaker 38: York City in college. So community means we meet you
- 36:04Speaker 38: where you are, and if you're interested in theater and art,
- 36:07Speaker 38: then we welcome you in to just let you express yourself.
- 36:11Speaker 5: I love it. Again, we're talking to Joanne, the president's
- 36:14Speaker 5: of the Chestnut Street Playhouse in Norwich. And so there
- 36:19Speaker 5: you have it. You just heard right there that if
- 36:20Speaker 5: you want to volunteer, anybody out there that has aspirations
- 36:23Speaker 5: of being a producer, director, an actor, an actress, you know, writing,
- 36:29Speaker 5: technical skills, there is a space for you there. And
- 36:33Speaker 5: this is new. It's happening now. And it is brilliant.
- 36:37Speaker 5: It is amazing. It is inspirational. It is such a
- 36:41Speaker 5: great spot. for Norwich to have or anywhere to have
- 36:44Speaker 5: in southeastern Connecticut. So tell us a little bit about
- 36:47Speaker 5: some of the productions that are in work and works
- 36:52Speaker 5: right now and, you know, what goes into a production
- 36:56Speaker 5: at the Chestnut Street Playhouse. How does that work?
- 36:59Speaker 38: Sure. So let me, you know, let me tell you
- 37:01Speaker 38: a little bit about our fall lineup.
- 37:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 37:04Speaker 38: We have a– it's called New England– theater studio and
- 37:12Speaker 38: they are in resident at chestnut street playhouse so we
- 37:14Speaker 38: have a we support another uh theater company all by
- 37:18Speaker 38: themselves who didn't have a brick and mortar place to
- 37:20Speaker 38: go so we um we have a contract with them
- 37:23Speaker 38: they're coming in and now they're producing inside of our
- 37:26Speaker 38: building and they're getting ready to stand up uh ham
- 37:29Speaker 38: hamlet shakespeare's hamlet um and so nest is just incredible
- 37:35Speaker 38: they are you know building um All of the things
- 37:39Speaker 38: that go along with Hamlet.
- 37:41Speaker 10: So you said nest.
- 37:41Speaker 5: Is that what it is, nested? That's New England. What
- 37:44Speaker 5: is that, nest?
- 37:45Speaker 38: That is New England Studio Theater.
- 37:49Speaker 10: Okay, gotcha.
- 37:49Speaker 38: Michael Hinton and Kristen Alagaza. They are the two co-owners
- 37:57Speaker 38: of this nonprofit, and they are a standalone studio with
- 38:02Speaker 38: no brick and mortar. And they were looking for a residency,
- 38:05Speaker 38: and they came to us, and it was a perfect fit.
- 38:08Speaker 38: So this is the first year. It's a different concept,
- 38:12Speaker 38: but it's our community theater giving another non-brick-and-mortar nonprofit theater
- 38:19Speaker 38: a place for residency for the year. And they'll be
- 38:22Speaker 38: standing up Hamlet coming this fall. And that show is
- 38:27Speaker 38: going to be September 17th to the 27th. Tickets are
- 38:30Speaker 38: on sale now at chestnutstreetplayhouse.org.
- 38:33Speaker 21: Wow.
- 38:34Speaker 5: And so... You know, for each one of these productions,
- 38:37Speaker 5: and I see that you have a few here that
- 38:40Speaker 5: if you want to talk about, that's great. But each
- 38:42Speaker 5: one of these productions requires its own build-out for sets, correct?
- 38:47Speaker 38: That's correct. So they start about three months before the
- 38:50Speaker 38: show goes up. They have directors, producers. I'd say probably
- 38:54Speaker 38: five months before the show goes up, they do casting
- 38:57Speaker 38: calls and they pick all the cast. Three months, they
- 39:00Speaker 38: start doing set design. So you can imagine upstairs, second
- 39:04Speaker 38: floor has got the oncoming production doing their thing while
- 39:08Speaker 38: downstairs in the theater is running the show that is live.
- 39:12Speaker 38: And we cycle that way continuously. And then from there,
- 39:15Speaker 38: they do the set build. They do the lighting session.
- 39:19Speaker 38: They do tech week. They do sits probe where they
- 39:23Speaker 38: walk through everything with all the music for the tape
- 39:26Speaker 38: we have live pits um when we can fit it
- 39:29Speaker 38: in the budget uh so yeah so we go through
- 39:32Speaker 38: that entire cycle and we do it six times in
- 39:36Speaker 38: a year so you know we've got one production coming
- 39:40Speaker 38: up one production going down and then the third production
- 39:43Speaker 38: out is trying to cast at that time so we
- 39:46Speaker 38: are we're in Full mode, 12 months out of the year.
- 39:50Speaker 5: So if I was an aspiring actor or actress, so
- 39:54Speaker 5: to be part of these productions, I'd go on your
- 39:56Speaker 5: website and find the casting calls. Is that how this works?
- 39:59Speaker 38: It is, chestnutstreetplayhouse.org. We have the casting calls. We have
- 40:03Speaker 38: the upcoming, the work with us, our Facebook page, Chestnut
- 40:07Speaker 38: Street Playhouse. We have Instagram, TikTok, any social media platform.
- 40:12Speaker 38: And for anybody looking to sponsor or watch the business,
- 40:15Speaker 38: We have a LinkedIn page as well. So we are
- 40:18Speaker 38: out there on the market. And, you know, interesting enough,
- 40:21Speaker 38: we just closed the Secret Garden. And I love KPIs,
- 40:26Speaker 38: the key, you know, performance index indicators. And during the
- 40:30Speaker 38: closing of the Secret Garden, we were getting 117,000 hits
- 40:35Speaker 38: on our page for updates. And when it came to
- 40:40Speaker 38: casting of this next fall show that I'm going to
- 40:44Speaker 38: introduce next, people were looking at the casting callbacks and
- 40:49Speaker 38: to see who was going to, you know, be chosen
- 40:51Speaker 38: up in the 90,000 hit range. So, you know, there's,
- 40:55Speaker 38: there's some movement here at our theater and community theater
- 40:57Speaker 38: in downtown North Connecticut. We're alive and well, and I
- 41:01Speaker 38: feel like we're the best kept secret, but sure do
- 41:03Speaker 38: have a solid following. And I'm proud of that.
- 41:05Speaker 5: That is amazing. So good following a good way for
- 41:10Speaker 5: community to get involved, um, you know, in the creative arts.
- 41:14Speaker 5: So tell me what other productions are coming up and
- 41:17Speaker 5: then what is, you know, your plan for the future
- 41:20Speaker 5: for the theater? And it's really sort of building right now.
- 41:22Speaker 5: So what, where does it go from here?
- 41:24Speaker 38: So let me tell you about the fall and then
- 41:27Speaker 38: I'll tell you about the future. So we're running Hamlet,
- 41:30Speaker 38: September 17th to 27th. If you've ever think you've seen
- 41:33Speaker 38: Hamlet before, you've got to check us out. We're a,
- 41:36Speaker 38: you know, a three side stage, you know, 67 seats. So,
- 41:41Speaker 38: When you come to our theater, you are in the production.
- 41:45Speaker 38: Your actors and actresses are two feet away from you.
- 41:49Speaker 5: It's a very intimate space. I love that. I really do.
- 41:53Speaker 5: I really love that intimacy like that. Yeah.
- 41:55Speaker 38: Yeah, it's incredible. You sat in that space and you
- 41:58Speaker 38: were just in awe. And it's amazing to have 25 people,
- 42:02Speaker 38: you know, simultaneously singing, you know, a scene. You just
- 42:06Speaker 38: don't know where they all fit. And it's just seamless
- 42:08Speaker 38: and miraculous. You've got to check us out. Definitely see
- 42:12Speaker 38: our schedule at chestnutstreetplayhouse.org and then take a look at
- 42:17Speaker 38: our tickets and come and at least check us out
- 42:19Speaker 38: at least once. You'll definitely come back. But I'm really
- 42:22Speaker 38: excited for October. We close out Hamlet. We bring our
- 42:27Speaker 38: upstairs production who is rehearsing downstairs. And we're doing Carrie
- 42:33Speaker 38: the musical for the Halloween run.
- 42:36Speaker 5: Love it.
- 42:38Speaker 38: Yeah, it's crazy. We're doing a Stephen King connection. It's
- 42:41Speaker 38: perfect Halloween timing.
- 42:43Speaker 5: It's iconic.
- 42:44Speaker 23: It's a horror story.
- 42:46Speaker 42: Yeah.
- 42:47Speaker 38: So it's not going to be your typical musical. It's dark.
- 42:49Speaker 38: It's emotional. It's powerful. And we're running on Halloween night. Wow.
- 42:55Speaker 38: So any of those theater buffs that want to come
- 42:58Speaker 38: and sit on Halloween night and come see Carrie the musical,
- 43:02Speaker 38: we are here for you.
- 43:03Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 43:04Speaker 38: Our director is Derek Carvo. He's amazing. He is both
- 43:09Speaker 38: onstage and offstage a powerhouse. And he just loves this show. And,
- 43:15Speaker 38: you know, he loves the power of the show, the
- 43:18Speaker 38: belonging in the community of Carrie, the musical. It's true
- 43:21Speaker 38: to the Stephen King, you know, stuff. And the cost,
- 43:26Speaker 38: you know, what it takes to in this horror movie
- 43:29Speaker 38: or his horror production. The cost of what it takes
- 43:32Speaker 38: to be that singer. So our lead actress is amazing.
- 43:35Speaker 21: We do have a call.
- 43:36Speaker 5: She's going to be incredible. We do have a call
- 43:38Speaker 5: on hold. Do you want to take a call?
- 43:40Speaker 38: Yeah, I'd love to.
- 43:41Speaker 43: All right.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Let's go to the call if we can.
- 43:45Speaker 40: Hello.
- 43:45Speaker 9: Hello.
- 43:46Speaker 18: This is Grace.
- 43:47Speaker 44: Hi, Grace.
- 43:47Speaker 5: How are you?
- 43:49Speaker 45: I am well. I am in Groton now. I spent
- 43:52Speaker 45: most of my time up here the past 54 years
- 43:56Speaker 45: in the London, Waterford, Shoreline areas.
- 43:59Speaker 46: Okay.
- 43:59Speaker 47: Okay.
- 44:00Speaker 45: I have been to the Chestnut Street Theater in Norwich.
- 44:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 44:05Speaker 45: And it was lovely. You know, I felt like I
- 44:09Speaker 45: was part of the production.
- 44:10Speaker 5: Oh, that's great.
- 44:11Speaker 45: I love being on the stage.
- 44:12Speaker 5: Yes.
- 44:13Speaker 45: I participated in community theater.
- 44:17Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 44:18Speaker 38: In many places.
- 44:18Speaker 45: And I've loved it. It's a wonderful experience.
- 44:21Speaker 5: Oh, thank you for saying that.
- 44:24Speaker 38: You're right there. You can see the audience. They can
- 44:27Speaker 38: see you.
- 44:28Speaker 45: You're all together. It's It's a community spirit, truly.
- 44:33Speaker 38: Grace, that's wonderful to hear. This is Joanne, the president
- 44:36Speaker 38: of Chestnut Street Playhouse. What show did you see when
- 44:38Speaker 38: you came down?
- 44:39Speaker 45: I knew you were going to ask that, and I
- 44:41Speaker 45: can't remember. But it was in the early 90s.
- 44:46Speaker 38: Okay.
- 44:48Speaker 45: I was in a Norris Arts Council production of The
- 44:52Speaker 45: King and I.
- 44:54Speaker 48: Oh, fabulous.
- 44:54Speaker 38: Yep.
- 44:56Speaker 45: That's incredible. I've been so blessed to experience so much
- 45:02Speaker 45: love and community spirit in the theater.
- 45:07Speaker 30: Yeah.
- 45:08Speaker 38: Grace, that's fantastic to hear. I'm so glad you got
- 45:10Speaker 38: an opportunity to come down to Chestnut Street Playhouse.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Grace, thank you for the call.
- 45:14Speaker 38: Because I know if you're in the New London Waterford area,
- 45:17Speaker 38: there's so many fabulous theaters. that you can participate in.
- 45:21Speaker 38: So thank you. Thank you so much for coming down
- 45:23Speaker 38: to Norwich and checking us out. We love our little
- 45:26Speaker 38: community theater right there in that little firehouse. So cool.
- 45:30Speaker 38: So thank you for calling in. That was wonderful.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Right, Joanne, we have about two minutes left. So how
- 45:34Speaker 5: about a quick future preview of what you're hoping to
- 45:37Speaker 5: do with the theater, and then we can take it
- 45:39Speaker 5: out from there.
- 45:40Speaker 38: Yeah, for sure. After Carrie the Musical, we go into
- 45:44Speaker 38: a comedy series. And we're doing the Games of Foot,
- 45:47Speaker 38: a Holmes for the Holidays, the Sherlock Holmes-type theme. We're
- 45:50Speaker 38: going to close out our 2016 with that. We also,
- 45:54Speaker 38: on October 7th, have our 20th annual golf tournament. All
- 46:00Speaker 38: the proceeds go towards, you know, fixing our building. So
- 46:04Speaker 38: that's really good. And that's all on our chestnutstreetplayhouse.org website.
- 46:09Speaker 38: And then just, you know, our community and our mission.
- 46:12Speaker 38: You know, we're a hub for creativity and connection. We
- 46:15Speaker 38: love our volunteers and partnerships. We love our sponsors. We
- 46:19Speaker 38: are dedicated sponsors. Help us, you know, be able to
- 46:23Speaker 38: fix things. It's expensive owning your own building.
- 46:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I can imagine.
- 46:27Speaker 7: And that's what we do as a nonprofit.
- 46:28Speaker 38: We own our own building. But check us out. You
- 46:31Speaker 38: can get tickets at juststreetplayhouse.org. You can follow us on Facebook.
- 46:38Speaker 38: It's shaping up to be a very busy, very exciting fall,
- 46:42Speaker 38: and I'd love it if you'd all come check us
- 46:44Speaker 38: out and be a part of that community with us.
- 46:47Speaker 9: All right.
- 46:48Speaker 5: Well, thank you so much, Joanne. Thank you for being
- 46:50Speaker 5: part of the show today, and thank you for saying
- 46:53Speaker 5: all things Chestnut Theater. It is amazing. You are amazing.
- 46:56Speaker 5: You're doing an amazing job there. For those of you

- 53:10Speaker 26: Overnight, a lake formed by the landslides began overflowing upstream,

- 53:57Speaker 5: help you. My God, what does she have to do?
- 54:00Speaker 32: But prosecutor Jennifer Sprague says Clancy knew what she was
- 54:03Speaker 32: doing and that she told her family about thoughts of
- 54:05Speaker 32: killing her children, but not health care providers.
- 54:08Speaker 40: And why?
- 54:09Speaker 23: Because the police might take away her kids.
- 54:12Speaker 27: That's a rational thought.
- 54:14Speaker 28: And it also shows she knew it was a bad thought,

- 57:59Speaker 7: Uh-oh, Rocky is here.
- 58:02Speaker 9: Rocky, welcome aboard.
- 58:03Speaker 7: Good morning, audience. Good morning, Steve. Pleasure to be here.
- 58:07Speaker 7: You're doing great. I was driving from Norwich in.
- 58:11Speaker 53: The fog to the station, and I'm listening to you.
- 58:14Speaker 5: You didn't crash, thankfully.
- 58:15Speaker 36: No.
- 58:18Speaker 7: I'm awake. I've been awake, actually.
- 58:20Speaker 53: Every time I have to come to the station, I'm
- 58:23Speaker 53: like I have a self- uh, mechanism that wakes me
- 58:26Speaker 53: up way ahead of time.
- 58:28Speaker 7: So I was here early. This is exciting stuff.
- 58:30Speaker 5: You know, it's always fun to be on the air
- 58:33Speaker 5: and talk. Well, listen, I brought, I brought you here because,
- 58:36Speaker 5: you know, I figured, um, We've known each other for
- 58:39Speaker 5: a long time. We have mutual friends. Archie, everybody knows
- 58:44Speaker 5: on this station that Rocky is an amazing photographer. He's
- 58:47Speaker 5: been a photographer for 35 years. 40 years. He was
- 58:52Speaker 5: using stones to make.
- 58:53Speaker 7: Images at one point. The dark ages. The beginning.
- 58:58Speaker 5: Stones and echo. He'd clap his hands and we'd get
- 59:00Speaker 5: the audio for video. I'm just kidding. We've known each
- 59:03Speaker 5: other for a long time and we have a great
- 59:06Speaker 5: respect for each other. I brought you here because it's
- 59:09Speaker 5: always a good conversation. Your conviction in religion and the
- 59:12Speaker 5: way you speak of it is amazing. And I just
- 59:15Speaker 5: got to say, it inspires me to be so devoted
- 59:21Speaker 5: like that. And so tell me a little bit, just
- 59:23Speaker 5: why are you so devoted? How does that work for you?
- 59:26Speaker 53: I tell you, and I said it once or twice
- 59:29Speaker 53: or more on my show.
- 59:31Speaker 54: Yeah.
- 59:31Speaker 7: I have, and I'll show it to you. You'll probably
- 59:33Speaker 7: see it. I can't remember which side. Right here, there's
- 59:36Speaker 7: a little mark.
- 59:36Speaker 5: I thought this was when you were boxing.
- 59:37Speaker 39: No.
- 59:38Speaker 7: No, no.
- 59:39Speaker 53: It's a little vein that my mother, when I was
- 59:42Speaker 53: 40 days old, I contracted a whooping cough.
- 59:46Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
- 59:47Speaker 53: To this day, if a child 40 days old gets
- 59:51Speaker 53: whooping cough, he may die.
- 59:52Speaker 7: They're too young.
- 59:53Speaker 53: Yeah. So my pediatrician told my mom, and this is
- 59:56Speaker 53: a story my mom told me a few times when
- 59:59Speaker 53: I was a kid. And Pedro Deschamps told my mom,
- 1:00:02Speaker 53: I'm sorry, I can't do nothing.
- 1:00:03Speaker 31: For the child.
- 1:00:05Speaker 53: And whooping cough develops a huge mucus that goes into
- 1:00:09Speaker 53: your throat and you basically die of asphyxiation.
- 1:00:13Speaker 7: And my mom told me a story.
- 1:00:15Speaker 53: This little vein here, every time I was dying, she
- 1:00:18Speaker 53: picked me up from the crib, put her fingers in
- 1:00:20Speaker 53: my throat, picked up the mucus, put me back in
- 1:00:24Speaker 53: the crib, and then went to the bathroom.
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: Like only a mom can right there.
- 1:00:28Speaker 53: And went to throw up. It was gross, right? But
- 1:00:31Speaker 53: that little bubble never burst. And I appreciate your question.
- 1:00:36Speaker 53: Why am I so dedicated? Every time, and I said
- 1:00:39Speaker 53: this on the air jokingly, of course, but every time
- 1:00:42Speaker 53: I look in the mirror every morning for 71 years,
- 1:00:46Speaker 53: when I look at my beautiful hair and I'm combing
- 1:00:49Speaker 53: and I'm trimming my beard and my.
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: Mustache, right?
- 1:00:52Speaker 53: I am reminded daily for 71 years that my life
- 1:00:59Speaker 53: has been a gift, right?
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: Oh, by the way, I got to tell the end
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: of the story.
- 1:01:02Speaker 44: Of course.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: So 40 days, I lost a whole bunch of weight.
- 1:01:06Speaker 53: I was born a fat Italian big-cheeked baby, and I
- 1:01:10Speaker 53: couldn't eat, couldn't retain anything.
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:01:13Speaker 53: But eventually, little by little, I recuperated, and these words
- 1:01:16Speaker 53: were spoken over me.
- 1:01:18Speaker 7: Of course, my mom told me this.
- 1:01:19Speaker 27: Uh-huh.
- 1:01:21Speaker 53: The doctor told my mom, the hand of God first,
- 1:01:25Speaker 53: and then the love of.
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: His mother saved the child.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: Steve, when my mom used to tell me this story, oh, yeah,
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: that's great. You know, that's great.
- 1:01:35Speaker 42: Yeah.
- 1:01:35Speaker 53: It didn't come to hit me until I had my
- 1:01:38Speaker 53: own children. And I realized the love of my mother and,
- 1:01:43Speaker 53: of course, the love of God first.
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: Somewhere, somehow, God intervened. Say, lay off this kid. I
- 1:01:49Speaker 7: want him. I need him.
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: I love it. I love it.
- 1:01:52Speaker 53: And therefore, so every day I wake up, it's a gift.
- 1:01:56Speaker 53: I wasn't supposed to be alive.
- 1:01:57Speaker 21: Right.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: So, okay. So God, okay, I got the passion there.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: So here's the follow-up to it.
- 1:02:05Speaker 36: Yes.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: Okay. So the follow-up is like this. It's can I
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: or can someone have a relationship with God even though
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: you don't believe in religion?
- 1:02:16Speaker 53: Well, it says in the Holy Scripture, it says, faith
- 1:02:23Speaker 53: comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: We have, by the way, you remember.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: Let me just rephrase that a little bit for you
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: so it's a little bit easier. So my point is this.
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: Can I believe in God and not believe in the Bible?
- 1:02:38Speaker 55: No.
- 1:02:39Speaker 53: Well, you can believe in an entity.
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: You can perceive a force. But the Bible is a
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: blueprint of what God.
- 1:02:49Speaker 53: sent us. Imagine your father sends you a letter. No,
- 1:02:53Speaker 53: of course, I'm sorry Vic and your mom is gone,
- 1:02:58Speaker 53: but imagine your earthly father goes far, far away and
- 1:03:02Speaker 53: sends you a letter and arrives and another letter three
- 1:03:05Speaker 53: months later and you never bother to pick it up
- 1:03:08Speaker 53: or open it. Wouldn't that be disrespectful? Wouldn't you want
- 1:03:11Speaker 53: to know what your dad's got to say? He's probably
- 1:03:14Speaker 53: at the North Pole or the South Pole.
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: But don't they say God is within, right? But you
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: have to believe. So if you believe, so my point is.
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: And to believe, you must learn. How do you learn?
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: And by the way, if you want to join in
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: on the conversation, 860-464-9490, and Rocky and I will try
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: to help you out in any of this stuff here.
- 1:03:36Speaker 53: But my point is so— So wouldn't you want to
- 1:03:40Speaker 53: read what your heavenly father wrote you?
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: But here's the thing. So the Bibles.
- 1:03:46Speaker 37: Yes.
- 1:03:46Speaker 21: Yes.
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: They contradict themselves a lot.
- 1:03:48Speaker 39: Of course.
- 1:03:49Speaker 18: Of course.
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: Humans are not perfect.
- 1:03:52Speaker 44: Right.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: So that's what I'm saying. It was written by humans,
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: not by God.
- 1:03:55Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: And not only that, but it was also written, I
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: don't know, 40 to 60 years after at least the
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: first Bible.
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: The New Testament you're talking about.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: That's right, of the birth of Christ, of the death
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: of Christ.
- 1:04:08Speaker 27: So how— listen.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: I can't write a story about my two weeks ago.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: Maybe that's just me, but I couldn't imagine writing a
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: story about my life 40 years ago and have any
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: sort of accuracy whatsoever.
- 1:04:22Speaker 53: So, Steve, it's not meant to be a scientific writing.
- 1:04:27Speaker 53: It's meant to inspire your soul, your spirit.
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: So it's a story.
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: It's a story.
- 1:04:31Speaker 7: Yeah, but you have a spirit.
- 1:04:33Speaker 53: See, you remember the great show that we had last year,
- 1:04:37Speaker 53: Creation vs.
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: Evolution? Yeah, with Lee. I started with these words. Yeah,
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: he slipped it.
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: I started with these words when it came for me
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: to speak. I don't know if you remember. I am
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: a spirit.
- 1:04:52Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: I have a soul. Yes. And I dwell in a body.
- 1:04:56Speaker 18: Gotcha.
- 1:04:56Speaker 22: Gotcha.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: I was me. The real me. It is not June 23rd, 1955.
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: Gotcha.
- 1:05:04Speaker 53: That's when my body was born by the, by the
- 1:05:06Speaker 53: miracle of birth through a woman's womb.
- 1:05:09Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: But my spirit was alive.
- 1:05:12Speaker 9: I don't know how long.
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: I agree with that.
- 1:05:14Speaker 7: So, so there is another dimension.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: But is there, so you're saying spirit. So, so can I,
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: can you call it God?
- 1:05:22Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: And can I call it, spirituality and energy. Something different.
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: Can we arrive at the same thought process, but through
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: a different vehicle?
- 1:05:35Speaker 53: I believe you can perceive a spiritual entity, a force,
- 1:05:40Speaker 53: or whatever you want to call it, but Once you
- 1:05:44Speaker 53: perceive it, wouldn't you want to know about it?
- 1:05:46Speaker 7: Wouldn't you want to learn?
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: So in my perception of it, it's energy from the earth.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: There's no conscious being. So my divine power comes from
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: the earth, and this is my just personal regret.
- 1:05:59Speaker 7: I understand. I respect that. I'm not telling you anything.
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: But here's the thing, is we could be talking the
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: same thing. But we're not. But calling it something different.
- 1:06:08Speaker 18: But we're not.
- 1:06:09Speaker 7: We could be, though. Because my spirit has a purpose.
- 1:06:13Speaker 53: It was formed, it was produced by an entity, a force,
- 1:06:20Speaker 53: how you call it, right?
- 1:06:21Speaker 9: A God.
- 1:06:22Speaker 7: And he puts in motion everything.
- 1:06:25Speaker 53: And there is a reason why I was, the Bible
- 1:06:29Speaker 53: says every spirit has to come together. because it's his plan,
- 1:06:35Speaker 53: comes into the womb, actually at the moment of conception.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: The Bible that was written by man says this.
- 1:06:41Speaker 44: Yes.
- 1:06:42Speaker 53: At the moment of conception, there's a spirit that goes
- 1:06:45Speaker 53: into the belly.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: Gotcha.
- 1:06:48Speaker 7: And it's born with that child.
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: I get the soul business.
- 1:06:52Speaker 42: So....
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: There is a purpose.
- 1:06:55Speaker 53: So what you're saying about energy, so when you die,
- 1:06:59Speaker 53: God forbid, 100 years from now, you're done.
- 1:07:03Speaker 7: That's it, right?
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: Well, my energy continues on through something else.
- 1:07:06Speaker 44: Where does it go?
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: It goes back into the earth to something else.
- 1:07:09Speaker 53: Well, my energy goes exactly where God wants it.
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: And it's precise.
- 1:07:14Speaker 53: And it's not a mistake.
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: It's not an accident. It's a divine. I don't know
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: how it works.
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: Yeah, no, listen.
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: I can't prove it to you. But I believe it.
- 1:07:25Speaker 42: Why?
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: And that's why I love your— that' s why I asked the
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: first question, is your conviction so much. So how is
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: it then that if you can't prove it, and we
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: know that the Bible was written by man.
- 1:07:36Speaker 44: Yes.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: And listen, and we know that the King James Bible
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: is different than this Bible.
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: Of course.
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: We have different versions of this story, so it's very
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: difficult to know which one is true, right? But they
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: all have a similar notion. But you— I got it.
- 1:07:51Speaker 53: But if you— you must have faith. If you don't have faith,
- 1:07:55Speaker 53: you can't see what I'm seeing. You can't learn what
- 1:07:58Speaker 53: I learned. There is an element that must be there
- 1:08:03Speaker 53: if you want to really— In other words, if you
- 1:08:07Speaker 53: don't believe it, it's your privilege. God doesn't force anybody.
- 1:08:11Speaker 53: But you cannot believe there's a God without faith. And
- 1:08:15Speaker 53: faith is not something you go to the grocery store
- 1:08:17Speaker 53: or Super Walmart and buy it.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: But I can believe energy because I can feel it.
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: I can sense it. I can monitor it through electrical
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: impulses of my body, of a plant's body, of an
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: elephant's body. We can monitor the pressures being changed.
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: Where does it come from?
- 1:08:38Speaker 44: The earth.
- 1:08:40Speaker 7: The earth like a piece of rock?
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: That's what it is.
- 1:08:42Speaker 7: Is it not?
- 1:08:45Speaker 53: Well, no, I don't. It's a living. I respect your belief, but.
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: I disagree 100%.
- 1:08:53Speaker 53: It's a supernatural power that decided.
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: In his wisdom.
- 1:09:00Speaker 53: To put in motion the universe. And we're part of
- 1:09:03Speaker 53: the universe. And to not take the time to even
- 1:09:08Speaker 53: learn or try to perceive what's being said.
- 1:09:12Speaker 7: By the way, isn't it?
- 1:09:15Speaker 53: It's ridiculous to think that men and women throughout the
- 1:09:20Speaker 53: ages took the time to write down.
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: They got persecuted.
- 1:09:24Speaker 53: Most of the apostles got beat up in jail, tortured, crucified, stoned.
- 1:09:30Speaker 7: Why would they all do that?
- 1:09:33Speaker 16: Why?
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: That's a great question.
- 1:09:36Speaker 7: Because what? They're crazy?
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: Well, I don't think anybody's crazy for their beliefs. Just
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: so you know.
- 1:09:41Speaker 7: No, but what I'm saying is there is a cost.
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: Believe me.
- 1:09:44Speaker 53: Some people think maybe I'm nuts for saying all that
- 1:09:47Speaker 53: I'm saying. I'm being judged by regular folks thinking maybe.
- 1:09:54Speaker 7: I'm too much.
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: So after you die, what happens?
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: The spirit goes back where it belongs.
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: And where is that?
- 1:09:59Speaker 7: With God. Where is it?
- 1:10:01Speaker 53: I don't know the postal office.
- 1:10:05Speaker 38: I don't know.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: What actually happens? So you go back to God. What
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: does that mean?
- 1:10:08Speaker 53: Because we come from God. We are created spirits. And
- 1:10:12Speaker 53: it goes back to where it belongs. And at the
- 1:10:14Speaker 53: end of this earth age, which is close, not tomorrow,
- 1:10:18Speaker 53: but it's close. Our Redeemer, our King, the King of Kings,
- 1:10:24Speaker 53: returns to earth. The Bible says it'll be at peace.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: So you think Jesus is coming back?
- 1:10:28Speaker 21: Of course.
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: Okay. What about the other religions? So if I'm from
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: another religion, am I going to hell?
- 1:10:36Speaker 53: I'm not responsible to tell you anything. I'm just asking
- 1:10:40Speaker 53: what you think. But other religion will tell you what
- 1:10:42Speaker 53: they believe. And if your faith goes in that direction,
- 1:10:47Speaker 53: so be it.
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: So that's the catch here. So who's right and who's wrong?
- 1:10:53Speaker 7: Listen, Steve, I have never told anyone... If you don't believe...
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: And some religions do that. Some churches do that. If
- 1:11:02Speaker 7: you don't believe what I believe, you go to hell.
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: I never said that in my life.
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:11:06Speaker 53: But I will boldly proclaim that which I learned.
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: I may even be wrong. But that which I learned,
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: I believe.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: That's why this is a great conversation.
- 1:11:16Speaker 9: Right, right.
- 1:11:18Speaker 53: I'm not saying I'm perfect, and I'm not judging anybody.
- 1:11:21Speaker 53: But as for me and my house.
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: We shall serve the Lord. I.
- 1:11:29Speaker 7: It's your responsibility.
- 1:11:31Speaker 53: To, if you have the desire, to explore. You know
- 1:11:39Speaker 53: how many hours you probably spent doing music or researching
- 1:11:44Speaker 53: an artist or whatever?
- 1:11:45Speaker 47: Yeah.
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: How many hours have you spent learning the Bible? Just because.
- 1:11:51Speaker 40: Yeah.
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: Have you?
- 1:11:52Speaker 56: No.
- 1:11:54Speaker 7: So you see, the Bible is very clear.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: So here's the thing. It's tough for me to go
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: down learning the Bible. And listen, my brother and I
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: went to Sunday school.
- 1:12:07Speaker 25: Of course.
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: We did all that business in the beginning. It's just tough,
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: you know, rose from the dead, water into wine, part
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: the seas.
- 1:12:15Speaker 7: But that's the beauty.
- 1:12:18Speaker 53: Steve, were you good in school in arithmetic or algebra?
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: Do you remember those days?
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: I do remember those days.
- 1:12:27Speaker 33: Okay.
- 1:12:29Speaker 7: In algebra, you learn it's a process. You have to
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: go like an equation.
- 1:12:34Speaker 53: You have to do this first and that first and
- 1:12:36Speaker 53: then second and that. The faith is like it's mathematics.
- 1:12:41Speaker 53: Once you start seeing things, once you start understanding.
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: So I would argue my faith is the mathematics in
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: the earth's energy.
- 1:12:51Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: So I would argue I am seeing that, but just
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: in a different form.
- 1:12:57Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:12:58Speaker 7: I respect that.
- 1:12:59Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: And that's why I say I have no doubt. Anybody
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: out there, whatever their beliefs are, I mean, Rocky and
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: I don't care.
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: No. I'm not responsible.
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: We're not responsible for anything.
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: No, I'm not.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: We're having a conversation. And by the way, if you
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: want to join the conversation, 860-464-9490. Ask a question for Rock.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: Ask a question for me. All of it is one
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: of those things where we can only give our best
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: opinions because... as Rocky so eloquently said before, and I
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: can say myself, is you just got to believe what
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: you believe. And there's no real way that either of
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: us can prove anything. That's right. But it's a great conversation.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: And that's why I started it was how is your
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: conviction with it? Because I am truly amazed because I
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: know a lot of folks with different beliefs. views of everything.
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: Even than you and I have. And they are passionate
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: about it. And there are some that believe in zero.
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: I believe there's an energy source.
- 1:14:00Speaker 16: A pool.
- 1:14:00Speaker 7: They don't even believe that.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: So there's all sorts out there and they all have
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: their reasoning for it. And they all can be good people.
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: And they all can do amazing things.
- 1:14:16Speaker 25: Sure.
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: And I would just argue that in the end, you know,
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: whether there's energy or whoever, if we're being judged by anything,
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: we're not being judged on what we do in a
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: day-to-day prayer, but we're being judged on our actions as
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: a human. That's all I would say.
- 1:14:33Speaker 7: No, I agree. And like I said, I came to.
- 1:14:40Speaker 53: To the Lord, so to speak. I, like you, I
- 1:14:43Speaker 53: was born and raised Catholic. I went to the Catechism,
- 1:14:46Speaker 53: the First Communion, the Christening, and all that. But it was,
- 1:14:50Speaker 53: it was like, almost like a book knowledge. Then you
- 1:14:53Speaker 53: come to a point, and it happened to me in 1983,
- 1:14:56Speaker 53: after the birth of my first daughter on July 24th, 1982. Steve,
- 1:14:58Speaker 53: when I became a father, that brought me to believe
- 1:15:09Speaker 53: In the love of God that granted....
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: God so loved the world that he gave his only
- 1:15:16Speaker 7: begotten son.
- 1:15:18Speaker 53: In other words, fatherhood made me believe, accept that there
- 1:15:22Speaker 53: is an entity that loves me so much. No matter
- 1:15:26Speaker 53: what I do, I'm forgiven, provided I go to my
- 1:15:30Speaker 53: father and say, I'm sorry.
- 1:15:31Speaker 7: I didn't mean to do that.
- 1:15:32Speaker 40: No, I.
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: And that's the.
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: And that's from a specific religion. But, like, you know,
- 1:15:38Speaker 5: I have a lot of great friends. Some of my
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: best friends are Jewish.
- 1:15:41Speaker 58: Sure.
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: It's just different, right?
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: It's the same God or Israel.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: Same God, different, but has no Jesus.
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: Right, right.
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: So this is the thing.
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: But I respect them.
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: You know, and so if there is no Jesus, how
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: does that work for you?
- 1:15:53Speaker 7: There is a Jesus, I believe.
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: Okay, so now we have a disconnect again, right?
- 1:15:57Speaker 53: If you read Isaiah, which is one of the old,
- 1:16:01Speaker 53: old prophets, Isaiah, you see Jesus.
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: In other words, it's amazing. You couldn't plan it.
- 1:16:11Speaker 53: Five, six hundred years earlier, Somebody prophesied something, and it
- 1:16:17Speaker 53: comes to pass with Jesus. The stripes, crucifixion, forgiving of
- 1:16:24Speaker 53: sin through the shedding of the blood of the Lamb.
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:16:28Speaker 7: You couldn't script it 700 years later.
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: So let me ask you. So do you believe in, like, say, manifestation?
- 1:16:36Speaker 44: Of course.
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: Do you believe in, like, psychics?
- 1:16:40Speaker 56: No.
- 1:16:40Speaker 40: No.
- 1:16:41Speaker 53: Well, there are psychics, yeah. There are people that have
- 1:16:43Speaker 53: those kind of gifts.
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: So you do believe in them?
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: Yeah, but they're not godly.
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:16:48Speaker 7: They don't have to be godly, but they could be godly. Depends.
- 1:16:51Speaker 7: A prophet is... I mean, a prophet could be considered
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: a psychic.
- 1:16:56Speaker 55: Could be.
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: And that has a different... So a prophet or a
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: psychic definitely has different abilities than you and I.
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: A prophet, in my book, from what we learned, is inspired....
- 1:17:09Speaker 53: It's a human being inspired by God. It's a human
- 1:17:16Speaker 53: being inspired by God.
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: To say some, to prophesize.
- 1:17:19Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:17:19Speaker 7: It's not a psychic. He's not.
- 1:17:21Speaker 42: Yes.
- 1:17:21Speaker 44: He's not.
- 1:17:22Speaker 7: He's not. He's not.
- 1:17:23Speaker 53: He doesn't want 20 bucks and tell you if you're
- 1:17:25Speaker 53: going to win the lottery tomorrow.
- 1:17:27Speaker 7: It's not.
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: I kind of, why not? I think we have a call.
- 1:17:30Speaker 7: Yeah, sure.
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: We have a call. I think Glenn is calling it. Glenn,
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: how are you? Are you there?
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: Good morning, Glenn. Good morning, Glenn.
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: Glenn, can you hear us?
- 1:17:39Speaker 35: Yes, good morning, gentlemen.
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: Hey, good morning, Glenn. Thanks for calling in today.
- 1:17:44Speaker 35: So calling in to continue on this discussion, what I
- 1:17:48Speaker 35: find interesting is, so I grew up in a household
- 1:17:51Speaker 35: my entire life where I basically was atheist, just didn't
- 1:17:55Speaker 35: believe in religion.
- 1:17:57Speaker 59: I came to the Lord.
- 1:17:59Speaker 35: My real late teens, early 20s is when.
- 1:18:03Speaker 60: I came to the Lord.
- 1:18:04Speaker 35: And to answer some of the stuff that you're talking about, Steve,
- 1:18:09Speaker 35: and maybe it's a little bit more elegant than what
- 1:18:11Speaker 35: Rocky's trying to say, is look at the Bible from
- 1:18:16Speaker 35: a secular point of view.
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:18:18Speaker 35: Let's look at the Bible as a history book, and
- 1:18:21Speaker 35: nothing but a history book.
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:18:23Speaker 35: Just like any other history book that's ever written. And
- 1:18:28Speaker 35: if you look at every other history book by archaeologists,
- 1:18:32Speaker 35: by all these other scientists, they've made changes through the
- 1:18:37Speaker 35: course of history. Changes have been made. But the Bible,
- 1:18:42Speaker 35: which has been the most challenged book on the planet
- 1:18:44Speaker 35: for man, all around the globe, all the same science,
- 1:18:48Speaker 35: the Bible there's nothing in the Bible that has ever,
- 1:18:51Speaker 35: ever been proven wrong. Now, not everything's been proven, but
- 1:18:55Speaker 35: everything that has been proven has been correct. Nothing has
- 1:18:59Speaker 35: ever been wrong. So that starts to build a foundation
- 1:19:02Speaker 35: of trust and faith. And that's where some of the
- 1:19:06Speaker 35: faith comes from as to, okay, There's something here. There's
- 1:19:10Speaker 35: something legit about this. As far as the spirit and
- 1:19:16Speaker 35: what you're talking about and going back to the Earth, well,
- 1:19:19Speaker 35: why is the planet Earth the only one that has energy?
- 1:19:25Speaker 35: Why doesn't the moon have energy? I mean, literally, there's
- 1:19:27Speaker 35: no energy from the moon in the way that you're
- 1:19:29Speaker 35: talking about, Steve, with regards to energy and how it
- 1:19:32Speaker 35: moves from one force to another, from person to person.
- 1:19:34Speaker 35: to a tree or to the back of the rocks
- 1:19:36Speaker 35: or whatever. None of the other planets have it, but
- 1:19:39Speaker 35: Earth does. So what or who created that energy to
- 1:19:43Speaker 35: be able to do that? Again, another stepping stone is
- 1:19:47Speaker 35: building a foundation of trust. And if you accept that,
- 1:19:51Speaker 35: that starts to build what Rocky's talking about with a process.
- 1:19:55Speaker 35: You're going to start to learn to accept it in process.
- 1:19:59Speaker 35: And then when I've had a few experiences in life,
- 1:20:03Speaker 35: I've come to realize that there is a Lord and Savior.
- 1:20:05Speaker 35: I do believe in God. I do believe that Jesus
- 1:20:07Speaker 35: came down and came to redeem my sins, and that
- 1:20:12Speaker 35: someday I will go in front of the Lord. Now,
- 1:20:15Speaker 35: is the Lord in space?
- 1:20:16Speaker 5: You've got about 30 seconds to see.
- 1:20:17Speaker 35: If you know. Nobody really knows. I don't think that's
- 1:20:20Speaker 35: all speculative. But that's the process, I think, that Rocky's
- 1:20:26Speaker 35: trying to talk about, how there's a foundation. It starts
- 1:20:29Speaker 35: to build. And as you learn, as you build your faith,
- 1:20:34Speaker 35: you come to understanding the conviction that and the belief
- 1:20:38Speaker 35: that there is a God.
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: Hey, thank you for the call, Glenn.
- 1:20:40Speaker 7: Thank you, Glenn.
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, listen, you can look at it as
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: who created the world, or you can look at it
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: as a scientific way it happened. You know, how much time?
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: We have a couple minutes left, so here we go. Rocky,
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: thank you. I think we're wrapping it up right now.
- 1:20:58Speaker 7: Thank you, Steve, for having me. You're the best.
- 1:21:00Speaker 23: We're going to be on here.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: I would love to continue this conversation.
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: Anytime you want.
- 1:21:04Speaker 37: Anytime.
- 1:21:05Speaker 7: I appreciate it.
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: Because there's so many more questions I have. Of course.
- 1:21:08Speaker 7: Oh, by the way, just real quick. I'm not a
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: trained theologian or I went to school. I'm just a believer.
- 1:21:14Speaker 7: That's all. Hey, daydream believer.
- 1:21:15Speaker 37: Go ahead.
- 1:21:16Speaker 7: Take care. Mama, take this badge from me.
- 1:21:21Speaker 27: I can't use it anymore.
- 1:21:32Speaker 7: It's getting dark, too dark to see.

- 1:27:00Speaker 21: where members bank better. Well, 54 years ago today, back
- 1:27:05Speaker 21: in 1972, something happened at the Summer Olympics in Munich,
- 1:27:09Speaker 21: West Germany that had never happened before. Mark Spitz of
- 1:27:12Speaker 21: Team USA put on a clinic. He won the 200-meter butterfly,
- 1:27:16Speaker 21: and he kept winning. He'd go on to win seven
- 1:27:19Speaker 21: gold medals in total at those Olympic Games, and in
- 1:27:22Speaker 21: the process, set seven new world records, too. It was
- 1:27:26Speaker 21: an Olympic feat that nobody thought would ever be duplicated.
- 1:27:29Speaker 10: But you know how sports goes. Records are made to
- 1:27:31Speaker 10: be broken.
- 1:27:32Speaker 21: And Michael Phelps came along at the Beijing Olympics and
- 1:27:35Speaker 21: won eight gold medals, then four more in London, and
- 1:27:38Speaker 21: then five more in Rio. Phelps may be the greatest
- 1:27:40Speaker 21: swimmer of the 21st century, but Mark Spitz was the
- 1:27:44Speaker 21: baddest man in the pool during the 20th century, and
- 1:27:47Speaker 21: he certainly proved it on this day 54 years ago.

- 1:29:28Speaker 5: All right, we are back. We are back. and we
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: have an amazing guest coming on. Her name is Jessica.
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: She owns Goodness Gracious, and she is a soul coach. Now,
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: this is great because it's daisy-chaining off of the conversation
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: Rocky and I just had. So this is just a
- 1:29:45Speaker 5: different approach, a different thinking, and I want to welcome Jessica. Jessica,
- 1:29:48Speaker 5: are you there?
- 1:29:50Speaker 38: Hi, how are you?
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: Hey, how are you doing?
- 1:29:53Speaker 46: I'm well, thanks. Thanks for having me on.
- 1:29:55Speaker 38: I'm excited.
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: Oh, this is amazing. So, you know, everybody's out there asking,
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: what is a soul coach? So come on, take us
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: through what's going on.
- 1:30:03Speaker 46: Yeah, so a soul coach is basically, I don't want
- 1:30:06Speaker 46: to take responsibility for anybody's life choices, but what I
- 1:30:09Speaker 46: want to do is help people connect to themselves on
- 1:30:11Speaker 46: a deeper soul level. Basically, this happened for me back
- 1:30:17Speaker 46: in 2021 organically. I had this spiritual awakening and up
- 1:30:21Speaker 46: to that point, I was somebody who avoided mirrors. I
- 1:30:25Speaker 46: did not like myself on a soul level. You know,
- 1:30:29Speaker 46: I did everything for everybody else outside of me. And
- 1:30:32Speaker 46: then I had this awakening that kind of put me
- 1:30:34Speaker 46: onto this path of spiritual tools, astrology being one of them.
- 1:30:39Speaker 46: And astrology was what really helped me come into alignment
- 1:30:44Speaker 46: with myself. It became the tool that I used to
- 1:30:48Speaker 46: help understand myself on a deeper level and And it
- 1:30:51Speaker 46: opened my world in such a profound way. It quite
- 1:30:55Speaker 46: literally changed my life. In 2021, I was married in
- 1:30:59Speaker 46: New Connecticut. And today I'm divorced living in Florida. And
- 1:31:02Speaker 46: while that may sound bad to some people, my life
- 1:31:07Speaker 46: has opened up in a crazy amount of ways. And
- 1:31:09Speaker 46: astrology really.
- 1:31:10Speaker 62: Helped me through.
- 1:31:12Speaker 46: Some dark transition areas and get me to where I
- 1:31:15Speaker 46: am today.
- 1:31:16Speaker 35: Yeah.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: And so with these transitions came the birth, if you will,
- 1:31:22Speaker 5: of Goodness Gracious. Tell us a little bit about how
- 1:31:25Speaker 5: that works.
- 1:31:26Speaker 46: Yeah, what's fascinating is that I actually kind of stumbled
- 1:31:29Speaker 46: into this before the massive divorce transition, and I really
- 1:31:33Speaker 46: believe that because I knew myself more on a deeper
- 1:31:36Speaker 46: level and understood my chart on a deeper level, the
- 1:31:42Speaker 46: really chaotic, dark periods of my life weren't nearly as dark,
- 1:31:46Speaker 46: if you will, uh, just because I understood it on
- 1:31:48Speaker 46: a deeper level. Like, cause you're, so your natal chart
- 1:31:51Speaker 46: is your soul's blueprint. It's a great self-awareness tool. It
- 1:31:54Speaker 46: shows you your strengths or weaknesses, like what you're here
- 1:31:57Speaker 46: to do in this world. Um, and kind of just
- 1:32:00Speaker 46: helped me understand because the process is I'm, I'm a
- 1:32:03Speaker 46: girl with two, two degrees accounting and business and all that.
- 1:32:07Speaker 46: And that never gave me that like fulfilling, like And
- 1:32:12Speaker 46: I always wondered, why is it that I'm gravitating more
- 1:32:14Speaker 46: towards spirituality and consciousness and energy and manifestation and all that?
- 1:32:19Speaker 46: And believe it or not, my chart held all of
- 1:32:21Speaker 46: the answers. So, you know, just to touch on it
- 1:32:24Speaker 46: a little bit, the North Node is a placement in
- 1:32:29Speaker 46: the chart. Everybody has it. And it's the direction that
- 1:32:32Speaker 46: your soul wants you to grow in, right? And so
- 1:32:35Speaker 46: mine is in Aries, which is energy of independence, courage,
- 1:32:39Speaker 46: choosing yourself. And it's also in the ninth house, which
- 1:32:43Speaker 46: is of spirituality and belief. So you combine all that together,
- 1:32:46Speaker 46: and that makes sense. That's why my soul was gravitating
- 1:32:49Speaker 46: towards astrology and spirituality and awakening. But the human side
- 1:32:54Speaker 46: of me kept fighting that for the longest time. You know, no,
- 1:32:57Speaker 46: I need to be successful. I need to have an
- 1:32:59Speaker 46: accounting degree. I need to go to school for business
- 1:33:03Speaker 46: and stuff. And I always thought that, you know, talk
- 1:33:05Speaker 46: about energy, like there was like a battle within myself
- 1:33:08Speaker 46: of what's right versus what's wrong. And it helped me
- 1:33:12Speaker 46: understand myself so that I could come up with goodness
- 1:33:15Speaker 46: gracious and create a community, basically, that will help other
- 1:33:20Speaker 46: people understand them. So we stopped resisting because, you know,
- 1:33:24Speaker 46: we're kind of programmed to believe this is how you
- 1:33:27Speaker 46: become successful. This is the way you're supposed to live
- 1:33:28Speaker 46: your life. And that's not necessarily true for everyone.
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: So, OK, so what an amazing story to get you
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: to where you where you're at. So, you know, if
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: I wanted a chart read, how does this actually work?
- 1:33:43Speaker 5: What happens? I mean, because I know I know that
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: you sell these. You know, these charts for folks who
- 1:33:49Speaker 5: then can take them and really learn about themselves or
- 1:33:52Speaker 5: for somebody else, you know, a friend, a child. It
- 1:33:56Speaker 5: could be for anybody so they can really get to
- 1:33:58Speaker 5: learn themselves. How does it work? What information do you
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: need to provide so you can generate or create this
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: sort of chart?
- 1:34:06Speaker 38: That's a great question. Okay, so.
- 1:34:09Speaker 46: Most people think that astrology is based off of your
- 1:34:11Speaker 46: sun sign. So, for example, I was born in July.
- 1:34:13Speaker 46: That means I'm a Cancer. But it's so much more
- 1:34:16Speaker 46: than that. It's not your run-of-the-mill People magazine type of horoscope.
- 1:34:20Speaker 46: Everybody has a birth certificate. So if you look at
- 1:34:23Speaker 46: your birth certificate, it tells you, obviously, the day you
- 1:34:26Speaker 46: were born, the location that you were born. But what's
- 1:34:29Speaker 46: most important in that piece is the time you were born.
- 1:34:32Speaker 46: So what I do is I put all that information
- 1:34:34Speaker 46: into this software that I created, and down to the
- 1:34:39Speaker 46: minute that you were born, and it shows you where
- 1:34:41Speaker 46: the stars and the planets were the day that you
- 1:34:43Speaker 46: were born, and that is what creates your natal chart.
- 1:34:47Speaker 46: You can run a chart without the birth time, but
- 1:34:51Speaker 46: it gets incredibly scary accurate when you have that birth time.
- 1:34:56Speaker 5: And you want to know what's funny, my birth time, 94.
- 1:34:59Speaker 56: 949.
- 1:35:00Speaker 5: 949. Yes. That is absolutely true. Just so you know that.
- 1:35:07Speaker 59: Yeah, right?
- 1:35:08Speaker 38: Yeah.
- 1:35:08Speaker 5: So, okay. So, you know, all of that information gets
- 1:35:11Speaker 5: plugged in. So, again, we're talking to Jessica, owner of
- 1:35:14Speaker 5: Goodness Gracious. And where can they find you? What's your website?
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: How do they get in touch with you?
- 1:35:19Speaker 46: It's goodnessgracious.shop. And when you get there, you'll see right
- 1:35:25Speaker 46: underneath my banner is where my most recent product that
- 1:35:28Speaker 46: I just came out with is called the Soul Memoir.
- 1:35:31Speaker 46: So if you purchase one of those, what you'll do
- 1:35:33Speaker 46: is you purchase one. I'll get your information. I will
- 1:35:35Speaker 46: contact you because I'm a big believer in that disinformation
- 1:35:39Speaker 46: is perhaps maybe even more important than your social security number.
- 1:35:43Speaker 35: Like this gets.
- 1:35:44Speaker 46: Down on a very deep, full level. It helps you
- 1:35:47Speaker 46: understand why patterns keep showing up in your life, how
- 1:35:50Speaker 46: you can overcome those, how you can, what I like
- 1:35:53Speaker 46: to call, level up in life. And so I'll reach
- 1:35:57Speaker 46: out to the person to get their private information. I'll
- 1:35:59Speaker 46: run the report. And within 24 to 48 business hours,
- 1:36:02Speaker 46: I will email them a PDF. It's basically a book
- 1:36:07Speaker 46: about yourself. And, you know, when I created this program,
- 1:36:12Speaker 46: I put my information in just to, you know, because
- 1:36:13Speaker 46: obviously I know myself better than anything.
- 1:36:16Speaker 38: Put that in there.
- 1:36:16Speaker 46: And I triggered another awakening within myself. I was starting
- 1:36:20Speaker 46: to see. the patterns that I was repeating in my
- 1:36:24Speaker 46: previous relationships. And I was just starting to see the patterns.
- 1:36:28Speaker 46: And that's really what astrology does is it shows you
- 1:36:30Speaker 46: patterns of where you may feel stuck and stagnant so
- 1:36:33Speaker 46: that you can become self-aware and do the things necessary
- 1:36:37Speaker 46: to kind of overcome that. So yeah, goodness gracious.
- 1:36:42Speaker 5: I love it.
- 1:36:43Speaker 10: Say it again.
- 1:36:43Speaker 38: Where can they find you?
- 1:36:45Speaker 46: Yeah, you just purchase one of those. I'll reach out.
- 1:36:47Speaker 46: And then, So it's a soul memoir. So it's basically
- 1:36:50Speaker 46: a book about yourself. And then what I did was
- 1:36:54Speaker 46: I also created a second product. So those who are
- 1:36:57Speaker 46: wanting to work with me on a deeper level, think
- 1:37:00Speaker 46: Therapy Meets Stars, if you will. I created an 86-page
- 1:37:05Speaker 46: workbook where it will put all of your personal placements
- 1:37:08Speaker 46: in there, show you the typical patterns that you may see,
- 1:37:12Speaker 46: see how you can overcome things. So, you know, it's
- 1:37:15Speaker 46: a multi-step process. But for those who are kind of curious,
- 1:37:18Speaker 46: just want to dip their toe. And I have a saying,
- 1:37:21Speaker 46: stay curious. But those who are curious, go to my site,
- 1:37:25Speaker 46: order their soul memoir, and then work one-on-one with me
- 1:37:27Speaker 46: should they want to go deeper.
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: It's amazing. So those of you listening out there who
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: have any questions, obviously you can call in at 860-464-9490.
- 1:37:34Speaker 5: And joining us in the conversation, Lady Mo has come
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: in here. a little early, who loves this energy talk.
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: Lady Mo, welcome.
- 1:37:45Speaker 38: Good morning, everybody.
- 1:37:46Speaker 63: Hi, good morning. Thanks for being with us, Jessica. I
- 1:37:52Speaker 63: have a quick question, actually. I wanted to see if
- 1:37:55Speaker 63: you could expound on the awakening portion of this process.
- 1:38:02Speaker 63: You've mentioned it a couple times now when you deliver
- 1:38:06Speaker 63: the book to your client, but also it happened within
- 1:38:10Speaker 63: yourself as this sort of spiritual awakening and this clarity
- 1:38:14Speaker 63: could you explain a little bit about that I think
- 1:38:17Speaker 63: I had something similar happen to me and it's all
- 1:38:21Speaker 63: very personal and individual so if you want to share
- 1:38:25Speaker 63: that would be great yeah.
- 1:38:26Speaker 46: Yeah absolutely so um, basically in 2021, I just kind
- 1:38:30Speaker 46: of had this, I call it a coming, coming to
- 1:38:32Speaker 46: Jesus moment where, um, I had kind of hit my,
- 1:38:36Speaker 46: my breaking point and then things, uh, in my life
- 1:38:40Speaker 46: were just, they couldn't like nothing changes if nothing changes.
- 1:38:43Speaker 35: Right.
- 1:38:44Speaker 46: Um, so I just, kind of stumbled into astrology by accident.
- 1:38:48Speaker 46: I don't even honestly don't know how I got to it.
- 1:38:51Speaker 46: I just remember getting to it and writing all these
- 1:38:54Speaker 46: notes down and stuff and just like, oh my gosh,
- 1:38:57Speaker 46: how does it understand me on.
- 1:38:59Speaker 38: Such a deeper level?
- 1:39:00Speaker 46: And like I started the conversation was, is that I
- 1:39:02Speaker 46: was once upon a time, somebody who I did not
- 1:39:05Speaker 46: like myself at all. I avoided mirrors and cameras and
- 1:39:08Speaker 46: all that. Like nobody could be worse than me, than me.
- 1:39:11Speaker 46: I'm a big believer in your mindset is what creates
- 1:39:15Speaker 46: your reality. And quantum science kind of shows that in
- 1:39:17Speaker 46: manifestation theory and all that. Uh, so you can't kind
- 1:39:21Speaker 46: of turn your life into magic until you come into
- 1:39:24Speaker 46: alignment with yourself until you, you are your own best
- 1:39:27Speaker 46: friend kind of. And that's what astrology really did for me. Um,
- 1:39:31Speaker 46: It helped me kind of become my own best friend,
- 1:39:33Speaker 46: understand myself so that I could be okay with being different,
- 1:39:37Speaker 46: if that makes any sense. So I could be okay
- 1:39:39Speaker 46: with being the weird, quote, unquote, weird girl in the room.
- 1:39:42Speaker 46: That talks about energy, excuse me, and manifestation and everything.
- 1:39:45Speaker 46: Because like I said, you know, I found out through
- 1:39:48Speaker 46: my own chart that my North Node, which again is
- 1:39:50Speaker 46: the direction your soul is trying to grow in, is
- 1:39:54Speaker 46: all about spirituality and belief and higher learning and consciousness.
- 1:39:58Speaker 46: So instead of fighting that, I kind of use that
- 1:40:00Speaker 46: as a tool for deeper self-awareness that I can foster
- 1:40:03Speaker 46: that compassion and empathy for myself. And I kind of
- 1:40:05Speaker 46: pull that outward.
- 1:40:08Speaker 44: Wow.
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: That's, that's just, I mean, it's awesome. The whole, your
- 1:40:11Speaker 5: story again is amazing. Your awakening process is amazing and
- 1:40:15Speaker 5: your ability to take, excuse me, that story, that feeling,
- 1:40:19Speaker 5: that passion and, and sort of, take it to a
- 1:40:23Speaker 5: business level and want to help people. I mean, that's
- 1:40:30Speaker 5: what these charts ultimately do. They help people, correct?
- 1:40:33Speaker 27: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:40:34Speaker 46: They help people understand their unconscious motivations and why they
- 1:40:37Speaker 46: do what they do because it's something that's inherently programmed
- 1:40:40Speaker 46: into your soul, which is what these charts show, right? So,
- 1:40:44Speaker 46: Real quick, last year, I kind of hit a brick wall.
- 1:40:48Speaker 46: I was living in Connecticut.
- 1:40:49Speaker 38: Divorce was over.
- 1:40:50Speaker 46: I couldn't financially afford to stay in Connecticut anymore, and
- 1:40:52Speaker 46: my options were be homeless and live in my car
- 1:40:55Speaker 46: or move down to Florida where my grandfather is a
- 1:40:57Speaker 46: snowbird and has a place for me. So I basically
- 1:41:00Speaker 46: got rid of everything I had. Whatever wouldn't fit in
- 1:41:02Speaker 46: my car wasn't coming with me, and it's everybody was
- 1:41:06Speaker 46: saying before I left, like, what are you going to
- 1:41:08Speaker 46: do when you get down there? You don't know anybody.
- 1:41:10Speaker 46: You don't have a job. And my, all I kept
- 1:41:12Speaker 46: like feeling in my, deep down in my soul was
- 1:41:15Speaker 46: just trust yourself. So I just looked at them and
- 1:41:17Speaker 46: I said, I don't know, but God's got me. The
- 1:41:19Speaker 46: universe has got me. Fast forward 24 hours after I
- 1:41:23Speaker 46: got here, I just trusted in my past because there again,
- 1:41:26Speaker 46: my North node shows that if I take You know,
- 1:41:28Speaker 46: if I'd be independent and be courageous and I choose
- 1:41:32Speaker 46: myself and what ultimately makes me happy, and Florida has
- 1:41:34Speaker 46: always just felt like home to my soul. It's always
- 1:41:37Speaker 46: made me truly happy on a deeper level. But if
- 1:41:40Speaker 46: I just trusted that, that it would all work out
- 1:41:42Speaker 46: for me there again with a mindset and just being
- 1:41:45Speaker 46: in alignment with myself. So I packed up my car.
- 1:41:47Speaker 46: I got down here. And within 24 hours of being here,
- 1:41:50Speaker 46: I just had this feeling of go to the pool.
- 1:41:53Speaker 46: And I was like, why would I do that? I
- 1:41:55Speaker 46: just got here 24 hours ago. Like, I kind of
- 1:41:57Speaker 46: energetically fought back a little bit, resisted that thought. And
- 1:42:00Speaker 46: then the next thought I had was just go.
- 1:42:02Speaker 38: Like, I felt pushed. I felt very called to go.
- 1:42:05Speaker 38: So I did that.
- 1:42:05Speaker 46: I put on my suit, 8 o'clock at night. I
- 1:42:07Speaker 46: go down to the pool. And within 10 minutes of
- 1:42:09Speaker 46: me being there, this woman shows up. We get to
- 1:42:12Speaker 46: talking in the hot tub. She says she needs help
- 1:42:15Speaker 46: at her store. I said, what a coincidence. I need jobs.
- 1:42:18Speaker 46: Within three days of me being hired, she ended up
- 1:42:20Speaker 46: hospitalized for two months. I'm the one that kind of, quote, unquote,
- 1:42:23Speaker 46: saved her business, if you will, kept it going, kept
- 1:42:25Speaker 46: it running. And I've now become the manager and running it,
- 1:42:31Speaker 46: and we've doubled our numbers. Like, everything really does happen
- 1:42:33Speaker 46: for a reason. You just have to trust that it's
- 1:42:35Speaker 46: happening for you, not to you. I'm a big, big,
- 1:42:38Speaker 46: big proponent of that. That one little word changes everything.
- 1:42:42Speaker 46: And my chart helps me understand that. That these big changes,
- 1:42:46Speaker 46: these drastic changes, like what would be drastic for everybody else,
- 1:42:49Speaker 46: that is what I'm here to do. Take those leaps
- 1:42:52Speaker 46: on myself. Be independent. Be courageous. Just trust that it's
- 1:42:55Speaker 46: all happening for me. And that's exactly what the universe
- 1:42:58Speaker 46: has shown me. But I wouldn't be where I am
- 1:43:00Speaker 46: today if I didn't understand my chart, if I didn't
- 1:43:02Speaker 46: know myself on a deeper level and tell myself this
- 1:43:05Speaker 46: is okay. You know what I mean? Like, I don't
- 1:43:07Speaker 46: have to live a societal standard of making sure I
- 1:43:10Speaker 46: have a job before I move. Like, My chart showed
- 1:43:13Speaker 46: me personally that it's okay to take those big leaps
- 1:43:17Speaker 46: of faith. And it really helped along the way.
- 1:43:20Speaker 63: I find that super fascinating. And I think it's also
- 1:43:25Speaker 63: a common theme in a recognized pattern in people that
- 1:43:31Speaker 63: I talk to who have had similar experiences where they
- 1:43:35Speaker 63: almost have to just let go of And let the
- 1:43:39Speaker 63: universe handle it. And it's in that exact moment that
- 1:43:45Speaker 63: it's exactly what happens. I mean, if you want to
- 1:43:47Speaker 63: call it let go, let God, you know, let spirit,
- 1:43:50Speaker 63: let the universe carry you through. But I do feel
- 1:43:55Speaker 63: we are a continuation of the stars.
- 1:43:58Speaker 11: And so.
- 1:44:01Speaker 63: Yeah, you feel all this innately and in your soul,
- 1:44:04Speaker 63: deep down in your soul when it makes sense and
- 1:44:07Speaker 63: you see that map in front of you. You can
- 1:44:09Speaker 63: apply it to so many things, your relationships, your work life,
- 1:44:14Speaker 63: your everything, everything.
- 1:44:17Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:44:18Speaker 46: Like one of the recurring themes for me and my charts.
- 1:44:21Speaker 46: is being a people pleaser and putting everybody ahead of myself.
- 1:44:25Speaker 46: And I, you know, instinctively kind of fall back to that.
- 1:44:28Speaker 46: And then I wonder why I feel stuck and stagnant
- 1:44:30Speaker 46: and nothing's happening for me. And then when I go
- 1:44:32Speaker 46: back and do a refresher on my own chart, I go, oh, okay,
- 1:44:36Speaker 46: so these are the patterns that I'm falling back into.
- 1:44:38Speaker 46: This is what I need to do. And while growth
- 1:44:40Speaker 46: is never comfortable, like it's hard, there's no growth without
- 1:44:43Speaker 46: some sort of resistance, right? And so like the chart
- 1:44:46Speaker 46: is a tool to kind of help you push through
- 1:44:48Speaker 46: those darker, more resistant moments to help you ultimately lead
- 1:44:52Speaker 46: a more, you know, happy, prosperous, and more in alignment
- 1:44:56Speaker 46: life with yourself. Something that, you know, most, I mean,
- 1:44:59Speaker 46: how many people do we know that go to jobs
- 1:45:01Speaker 46: that they hate and they're only doing it because that's
- 1:45:03Speaker 46: what they think that they're supposed.
- 1:45:05Speaker 35: To do, you know?
- 1:45:06Speaker 46: So this kind of helps understand on a deeper level.
- 1:45:10Speaker 46: Like if you're feeling called to be an artist, but
- 1:45:13Speaker 46: your parents are lawyers and they wanted you to fall
- 1:45:17Speaker 46: down this path and now you're struggling with those two
- 1:45:19Speaker 46: energies of want versus desire. you know, force, if you will,
- 1:45:23Speaker 46: like that, that can put a lot of people in,
- 1:45:25Speaker 46: in stagnant energy. Um, and, and could lead ultimately to
- 1:45:30Speaker 46: like depression, anxiety, all of that. And so that's why
- 1:45:32Speaker 46: I say, you know, think therapy meets the stars, but
- 1:45:35Speaker 46: how to show you patterns that helps you out of
- 1:45:37Speaker 46: those helps you. What I, like I said, I'd like
- 1:45:38Speaker 46: to call it leveling up.
- 1:45:40Speaker 5: Um, I love it.
- 1:45:42Speaker 7: I love it.
- 1:45:43Speaker 5: Well, listen, we are talking to Jessica owner of goodness gracious, Jessica,
- 1:45:46Speaker 5: how can they reach out to you again?

- 1:45:55Speaker 46: soul memoir. You can go to my catalog. I do, again,
- 1:45:58Speaker 46: I believe in mindset. I'm a big proponent of putting
- 1:46:00Speaker 46: out positive energy, so I do offer, you know, some
- 1:46:03Speaker 46: shirts and stuff on there. But the bulk of my
- 1:46:05Speaker 46: business at this moment is surrounding astrology and getting people
- 1:46:11Speaker 46: to understand themselves. on a deeper level, because I believe
- 1:46:14Speaker 46: that you have to come into confusion with yourself to
- 1:46:17Speaker 46: ripple that positive energy outward.
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: Well, thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much for
- 1:46:21Speaker 5: being part of the show today. For those of you

- 1:59:53Speaker 48: At the beginning of time deep in the primordial ooze
- 1:59:57Speaker 48: two opposing entities evolved.
- 2:00:01Speaker 7: These creatures have spent the past.
- 2:00:03Speaker 48: Billion years in an epic battle of right versus wrong
- 2:00:07Speaker 48: and good versus evil Today, we spend the next hour
- 2:00:13Speaker 48: allowing those who go by the name of Tree Hugger, Democrat, Pinko, Lefty,
- 2:00:19Speaker 48: Kool-Aid Drinker, or the Liberal Mafia go toe-to-toe with the
- 2:00:25Speaker 48: people on the right. Lock your doors and get ready
- 2:00:29Speaker 48: for the Liberal Invasion.
- 2:00:34Speaker 5: Such a dramatic intro.
- 2:00:35Speaker 7: I love it.
- 2:00:36Speaker 5: Welcome back. And we are here with Lady Mo. And
- 2:00:38Speaker 5: I think... Instead of fighting, we're just going to really
- 2:00:40Speaker 5: continue on the energy conversation from the last segment from
- 2:00:44Speaker 5: Goodness Gracious, which was so fascinating. And if you didn't
- 2:00:48Speaker 5: hear last segment, we had a great segment with a
- 2:00:50Speaker 5: soul coach. And any questions, just email the station here.
- 2:00:54Speaker 5: We can give you the details. But, wow, such a
- 2:00:57Speaker 5: way to really get to know yourself, somebody else, your child,
- 2:01:00Speaker 5: your son, by doing these soul conversations. Soul readings. And
- 2:01:03Speaker 5: it's just amazing. It's just amazing how accurate they are, right?
- 2:01:06Speaker 63: Hey, so accurate. And thanks for turning me up on
- 2:01:09Speaker 63: the board there, engineer. And I love energy. This is
- 2:01:16Speaker 63: my thing. It's my jam. I talk about it a lot. Hey,
- 2:01:18Speaker 63: have you seen the Pixar movie Soul?
- 2:01:22Speaker 5: You know, somebody just told me about that today and
- 2:01:26Speaker 5: says that I have to watch it. So I'm going
- 2:01:27Speaker 5: to see it.
- 2:01:27Speaker 16: Steve.
- 2:01:28Speaker 5: I know. This is a disservice.
- 2:01:30Speaker 63: To you in life. Oh, my goodness.
- 2:01:33Speaker 56: Wow.
- 2:01:33Speaker 63: So first of all, gentlemen, I love Trent Reznor.
- 2:01:38Speaker 5: Trent.
- 2:01:39Speaker 63: Is on the composition for the soundtrack. There's just so
- 2:01:45Speaker 63: many people, beautiful souls involved in the making of that movie.
- 2:01:49Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 2:01:49Speaker 63: And it's very special. And it crosses, I mean, it
- 2:01:52Speaker 63: just reaches so many generations.
- 2:01:54Speaker 5: I will watch it.
- 2:01:55Speaker 63: The music is beautiful. The story is beautiful. Everything about
- 2:01:59Speaker 63: it I love.
- 2:02:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:02:02Speaker 63: But energy, I think you and I were supposed to
- 2:02:05Speaker 63: do a piece way back when on energy.
- 2:02:08Speaker 44: Yep.
- 2:02:10Speaker 63: And I was fascinated about this concept of psyops and
- 2:02:14Speaker 63: psychological warfare and things happening in present day, how that
- 2:02:19Speaker 63: was applicable to just new and improved avenues for warfare.
- 2:02:27Speaker 63: But the other thing was I mentioned egregores, which I
- 2:02:32Speaker 63: had never heard that word before until just a couple
- 2:02:37Speaker 63: years ago.
- 2:02:37Speaker 12: And.
- 2:02:40Speaker 63: How I learned about it actually was following a sports team,
- 2:02:44Speaker 63: you know, the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox. And one
- 2:02:50Speaker 63: of my girlfriends was saying, oh, my gosh, the energy
- 2:02:53Speaker 63: here is so spectacular. You know, the egregore around this
- 2:02:58Speaker 63: city must be also just as spectacular.
- 2:03:01Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 2:03:02Speaker 63: And I said, oh, my God, what's that word?
- 2:03:05Speaker 5: Like, are you kidding?
- 2:03:06Speaker 23: Right.
- 2:03:07Speaker 63: So I looked it up and you can apply it to.
- 2:03:11Speaker 23: Everything.
- 2:03:12Speaker 63: And which means I feel like energy is going to
- 2:03:15Speaker 63: be a commodity if it if it isn't already. You know,
- 2:03:19Speaker 63: I there there are.
- 2:03:21Speaker 5: People waking up to it.
- 2:03:22Speaker 9: They are.
- 2:03:22Speaker 25: They are.
- 2:03:23Speaker 9: They are.
- 2:03:24Speaker 63: They're waking up to it. And I think that there
- 2:03:27Speaker 63: are real things there. Energy vampires, people siphoning energy from,
- 2:03:33Speaker 63: you know, if you have good energy, somebody wants it.
- 2:03:36Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely. You walk into a party, you can feel
- 2:03:42Speaker 5: opposing energies from folks. And you know who you can
- 2:03:45Speaker 5: talk to, who you feel comfortable with and who not.
- 2:03:47Speaker 5: I mean, our body is, for me, continuously like a
- 2:03:49Speaker 5: water droplet that hits water and sort of waves out.
- 2:03:52Speaker 5: It's like our bodies have these energy fields that keep
- 2:03:55Speaker 5: going out. And they cross people as they walk by.
- 2:03:57Speaker 5: And some happen to get along and some not so much.
- 2:04:01Speaker 63: Like oil and water.
- 2:04:01Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 2:04:02Speaker 5: And some not so much, right?
- 2:04:03Speaker 63: And some not so much.
- 2:04:04Speaker 5: And you can feel it. It's actually something you can
- 2:04:06Speaker 5: tangibly feel.
- 2:04:07Speaker 36: I know.
- 2:04:08Speaker 63: It happens.
- 2:04:09Speaker 36: It happens.
- 2:04:09Speaker 63: And that's why, actually, you need to truly listen to
- 2:04:14Speaker 63: your intuition. I think that Rocky mentioned earlier one of
- 2:04:18Speaker 63: the life experiences or human experiences he's had that has
- 2:04:23Speaker 63: brought him closest to God. And that faith or the
- 2:04:30Speaker 63: clarity in that faith really was having a child. And
- 2:04:34Speaker 63: the same happened for me. When I became a mother,
- 2:04:36Speaker 63: I saw the world in a whole new way through
- 2:04:41Speaker 63: my son's eyes. And you've never been more vulnerable, but
- 2:04:45Speaker 63: more full of love. And you realize, okay, so I
- 2:04:49Speaker 63: have to carry the energy of myself, my child, the
- 2:04:54Speaker 63: world around me. And I mean, it's just absolutely fascinating.
- 2:05:00Speaker 63: And when you think about it, You can even draw
- 2:05:03Speaker 63: in what Jessica said this morning with astrology. And, you know,
- 2:05:09Speaker 63: as above, so below. If we are here on Earth,
- 2:05:13Speaker 63: we are, just like you said, like almost an electric
- 2:05:16Speaker 63: rod or an avenue in which things from above can
- 2:05:22Speaker 63: travel down here to Earth.
- 2:05:24Speaker 21: And even.
- 2:05:28Speaker 63: We can even bring within us the Schumann resonance, like
- 2:05:31Speaker 63: the Earth's heartbeat through our feet and up above us.
- 2:05:37Speaker 63: So I just, I love all of this.
- 2:05:41Speaker 5: I love it all, too.
- 2:05:43Speaker 63: Is it making sense, what I'm saying?
- 2:05:45Speaker 5: No, totally making sense.
- 2:05:46Speaker 63: And if anybody wants to call in.
- 2:05:47Speaker 5: Yeah, the number, of course, 860-464-9490. And we're continuing on
- 2:05:50Speaker 5: the conversation of energy and space. And and how it
- 2:05:57Speaker 5: relates manifestation.
- 2:05:59Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 2:06:00Speaker 63: Well, it's important how we proceed with caution with humanity.
- 2:06:07Speaker 63: I mention it every time I'm on. So it's it's
- 2:06:11Speaker 63: really front and center right now.
- 2:06:13Speaker 36: Energy.
- 2:06:14Speaker 5: Yes. I think people are waking up to it.
- 2:06:17Speaker 63: And you really know when someone has some bad energy.
- 2:06:20Speaker 9: Bad energy.
- 2:06:21Speaker 5: Isn't it obvious though? Like, like, like, you know, like
- 2:06:24Speaker 5: immediately in your gut, you're like, Whoa, that guy's just
- 2:06:28Speaker 5: got something going on. Like you just, you just know, right?
- 2:06:30Speaker 9: I know.
- 2:06:31Speaker 63: I'm trying to teach my son that, that, that you
- 2:06:33Speaker 63: have to really keep that. Don't, you know, we've groomed
- 2:06:37Speaker 63: everybody to forget about our intuition and fall out of
- 2:06:41Speaker 63: sync with it so that we're so disconnected with it
- 2:06:44Speaker 63: for the rest of our lives that we have to
- 2:06:46Speaker 63: actually remember that. what it's like to get back in
- 2:06:51Speaker 63: touch with our intuition. If something doesn't feel right, something
- 2:06:54Speaker 63: doesn't look right, someone is not acting right, it's probably
- 2:06:58Speaker 63: not right.
- 2:06:59Speaker 5: Right, no, exactly. And as last segment, Jessica was talking,
- 2:07:02Speaker 5: those soul readings, it tells you It actually gives you
- 2:07:06Speaker 5: an outline, a blueprint of people or things that connect
- 2:07:12Speaker 5: with you and don't connect with you.
- 2:07:13Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 2:07:14Speaker 5: Not to say that you don't have the choice to
- 2:07:16Speaker 5: make a difference and try to work with things, but
- 2:07:18Speaker 5: it's just a blueprint, right?
- 2:07:20Speaker 42: Sure.
- 2:07:20Speaker 5: And, you know.
- 2:07:23Speaker 63: But don't you think that, I mean, if more people
- 2:07:26Speaker 63: would apply that type of knowledge, the world would be
- 2:07:31Speaker 63: a better place?
- 2:07:32Speaker 5: Totally. You know, I... I often say, and I've said
- 2:07:36Speaker 5: it in the beginning of this whole show today, it's
- 2:07:38Speaker 5: like these are opinions. We're not fighting. We're just talking.
- 2:07:43Speaker 5: We're really just trying to be better people, you know.
- 2:07:46Speaker 5: And if you have an opinion, call in. Let's talk
- 2:07:48Speaker 5: about it. You know, this isn't a one-sided road at all.
- 2:07:52Speaker 5: I mean, energy or or feelings or opinions are two sided.
- 2:07:57Speaker 5: And when Rocky was here, you know, I specifically said
- 2:08:01Speaker 5: to him, even before he came on, it's, this isn't a,
- 2:08:04Speaker 5: I'm not debating you. Like we're having a conversation. I
- 2:08:07Speaker 5: truly want to know why you feel the way you do.
- 2:08:10Speaker 5: And so, cause, and that'll help me understand you.
- 2:08:13Speaker 40: Yeah.
- 2:08:14Speaker 63: It's superb trying to understand one another and, is also
- 2:08:19Speaker 63: something that is a wonderful way that we can get
- 2:08:24Speaker 63: through these tough times, falling back on one another and, uh,
- 2:08:30Speaker 63: allowing us to take care of each other. And that is, that,
- 2:08:38Speaker 63: that creates excellent energy, excellent energy. So, um, If we
- 2:08:44Speaker 63: can do that, you know, we can all make a difference.
- 2:08:48Speaker 63: We can truly stimulate change.
- 2:08:51Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the thing is when we all go to
- 2:08:53Speaker 5: our corners and don't talk and don't kind of bring
- 2:08:56Speaker 5: these issues, these thoughts, you know, to the forefront for conversation,
- 2:09:00Speaker 5: I can't understand how this would happen because this is
- 2:09:06Speaker 5: how we get– this is how we move forward with anything, right?
- 2:09:09Speaker 5: We learn to understand each other. We learn why people
- 2:09:12Speaker 5: think the way they do.
- 2:09:13Speaker 40: Right.
- 2:09:14Speaker 5: And we then our actions can be guided by that learning.
- 2:09:20Speaker 63: Well, what's funny is it actually draws me to last night.
- 2:09:23Speaker 63: I was sitting at Bill's Seafood with my family and
- 2:09:26Speaker 63: the cousins, the children were chatting. And I heard my
- 2:09:31Speaker 63: son ask his cousin, hey, Laura, what is your least
- 2:09:37Speaker 63: favorite movie? Not your most favorite movie.
- 2:09:39Speaker 5: The least favorite.
- 2:09:40Speaker 63: I said, wow, that's a good question. And he said, well,
- 2:09:45Speaker 63: I want to know. I want to know her favorite
- 2:09:48Speaker 63: things and her least favorite things. And that's good because
- 2:09:52Speaker 63: it's a great thing because then, you know, then he said, OK,
- 2:09:56Speaker 63: we won't watch that movie. So, you know, you know.
- 2:10:00Speaker 5: Continuing on this so so so you believe in psychics
- 2:10:03Speaker 5: yes or no yes okay do you believe in the
- 2:10:05Speaker 5: tarot cards yes okay me too i'm one of those.
- 2:10:08Speaker 63: I have several i.
- 2:10:10Speaker 5: Have several decks we gotta we gotta do it here
- 2:10:12Speaker 5: more on the show maybe next time i'll bring some.
- 2:10:14Speaker 63: In and we can actually speaking of energy yeah it's
- 2:10:17Speaker 63: it's incredible yeah it is incredible last night's full moon
- 2:10:20Speaker 63: i want to you know i i think i think
- 2:10:24Speaker 63: first of all being a woman you know you were
- 2:10:27Speaker 63: so in touch with the moon um but I felt
- 2:10:34Speaker 63: last night's full moon was spectacular. I wish we could
- 2:10:37Speaker 63: have seen it more. I'm looking forward to, to looking
- 2:10:40Speaker 63: at pictures online, but it was a blood Sturgeon moon
- 2:10:44Speaker 63: and a partial lunar eclipse, actually partial. It was almost total. I,
- 2:10:50Speaker 63: it was almost like 98% or something like that. And, um,
- 2:10:55Speaker 63: you know, for the first time in this morning's early
- 2:10:58Speaker 63: sky was Orion's, constellation, there's also fascinating things happening in
- 2:11:10Speaker 63: the sky. I guess Andromeda, which is like 2.5 million
- 2:11:14Speaker 63: light years away, was also seen, which is fascinating. And
- 2:11:19Speaker 63: I think we have a caller.
- 2:11:21Speaker 5: We do. We do have a caller. And let's see
- 2:11:24Speaker 5: who it is here. Mike, I believe, is on the line.
- 2:11:27Speaker 7: Mike, are you there?
- 2:11:28Speaker 57: Hey, yeah.
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: How you doing?
- 2:11:29Speaker 23: Hey, good.
- 2:11:30Speaker 63: How are you?
- 2:11:31Speaker 58: So you guys are talking about energy and how our
- 2:11:35Speaker 58: bodies are like radios for emotions and stuff.
- 2:11:38Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:11:39Speaker 58: Have you guys looked into anything about– there's some new
- 2:11:42Speaker 58: science out there about how our bodies are actually organic
- 2:11:45Speaker 58: electrochemical transceivers.
- 2:11:47Speaker 34: Yeah.
- 2:11:48Speaker 5: Yep, yep.
- 2:11:50Speaker 57: Yeah, if you look into that, it's really crazy. But yeah,
- 2:11:52Speaker 57: like every person pretty much like puts off their own
- 2:11:55Speaker 57: radio stations. And we can tune into other people's emotions
- 2:11:58Speaker 57: and feelings. And some people got it stronger than others.
- 2:12:00Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 2:12:01Speaker 57: And my whole life, like, I've been able to feel
- 2:12:03Speaker 57: people's emotions, like, from far away.
- 2:12:05Speaker 5: Total empath.
- 2:12:05Speaker 14: I can just tell.
- 2:12:07Speaker 36: Yeah.
- 2:12:07Speaker 5: That is a great way to describe it as we
- 2:12:09Speaker 5: are all our individual radio stations. That is a perfect
- 2:12:13Speaker 5: way to describe it. And we are sending signals and
- 2:12:16Speaker 5: we are also receiving them. Well done.
- 2:12:18Speaker 63: I'm going to say something also that I just read
- 2:12:22Speaker 63: and I– I couldn't find too much about it yesterday.
- 2:12:26Speaker 63: But on that very note, Mike, there are chambers being
- 2:12:31Speaker 63: released right now in Japan, healing chambers in hospitals that
- 2:12:38Speaker 63: match our electronic frequency with Earth's for healing.
- 2:12:44Speaker 44: Yes.
- 2:12:45Speaker 63: And they're using it as treatment for... everything i mean.
- 2:12:50Speaker 43: That seems so smart you know there's caves around the
- 2:12:53Speaker 43: world that were they're like perfectly um carved stone caves
- 2:12:57Speaker 43: that are built before like we even you know before
- 2:12:59Speaker 43: civilization was made and scientists.
- 2:13:01Speaker 57: Are going in there and they're finding that they um
- 2:13:03Speaker 57: the sound frequencies on the walls well they they have
- 2:13:06Speaker 57: healing properties and they get the like the native american
- 2:13:09Speaker 57: stuff they would go in there and this is like
- 2:13:11Speaker 57: in india and everything too is all caustic the the
- 2:13:13Speaker 57: world they go into these chambers and they would play
- 2:13:17Speaker 57: sounds and music and they believed it healed them.
- 2:13:20Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 2:13:20Speaker 57: Because of the shapes of the walls of the caves.
- 2:13:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:13:24Speaker 63: It's music therapy is a thing. Art therapy is a
- 2:13:29Speaker 63: thing for a reason.
- 2:13:31Speaker 5: Tones are a thing.
- 2:13:32Speaker 63: Tones are a thing.
- 2:13:33Speaker 5: Like 440 hertz, you know, you play that and I
- 2:13:37Speaker 5: believe it kind of lowers your, lowers your cortisol.
- 2:13:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:13:42Speaker 5: It brings things down. So, so there are different tones that,
- 2:13:46Speaker 5: that even businesses or corporations use to kind of stimulate
- 2:13:49Speaker 5: different reactions from you.
- 2:13:50Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 2:13:51Speaker 63: Oftentimes, if I am stuck in fight or flight, I
- 2:13:56Speaker 63: can actually turn on, you know, something online that will,
- 2:13:59Speaker 63: you know, like a sound bowl, something like that.
- 2:14:03Speaker 5: There's a reason why, Mike, there's a reason why something
- 2:14:06Speaker 5: like Dunkin' Donuts has an orange peel because orange makes
- 2:14:09Speaker 5: us hungry. Right. The actual the actual color of it
- 2:14:14Speaker 5: gets into our senses. And for some reason, that color
- 2:14:16Speaker 5: makes you want to eat. You know, so frequency adjusts
- 2:14:21Speaker 5: your way your body is vibing at the moment. So
- 2:14:25Speaker 5: to keep people calm, they use a certain frequency on
- 2:14:29Speaker 5: a lot of things that helps keep you calm. I mean,
- 2:14:31Speaker 5: these are real things.
- 2:14:32Speaker 23: They are.
- 2:14:32Speaker 63: And I think it's, yeah, a lot of people are
- 2:14:34Speaker 63: remembering these ancient wisdoms that have been around for, you know,
- 2:14:39Speaker 63: since mankind has been here. So awesome call.
- 2:14:42Speaker 9: Awesome call.
- 2:14:42Speaker 57: People still do it today and they don't even realize
- 2:14:44Speaker 57: they're doing it because People listen to music, and when
- 2:14:46Speaker 57: they're sad, they put on a sad song, or they're happy,
- 2:14:49Speaker 57: they put on a happy song, or maybe vice versa.
- 2:14:51Speaker 57: They're sad and they put on a happy song because
- 2:14:52Speaker 57: they want to lift their mood up.
- 2:14:53Speaker 5: Yeah, you got it.
- 2:14:54Speaker 57: They just think they're listening to music, but it's kind
- 2:14:57Speaker 57: of the same concept.
- 2:14:58Speaker 63: When I was in college, I did my thesis on...
- 2:15:04Speaker 63: digital pharmacies and music therapy. And, you know, in Europe
- 2:15:07Speaker 63: for the longest time, music was prescribed, like albums were
- 2:15:11Speaker 63: made for people dependent on ailments and all sorts of things.
- 2:15:15Speaker 5: I often say, you know, I would love for, you know,
- 2:15:20Speaker 5: a doctor to prescribe, you know, if you're not feeling
- 2:15:24Speaker 5: well or whatever, to prescribe climbing a mountain or going
- 2:15:28Speaker 5: on a hike.
- 2:15:28Speaker 63: Going outside.
- 2:15:29Speaker 5: Go outside instead of just pills all the time.
- 2:15:32Speaker 47: Yeah.
- 2:15:32Speaker 33: Yeah.
- 2:15:32Speaker 31: Amen.
- 2:15:33Speaker 39: Amen.
- 2:15:34Speaker 57: Have you guys seen the experiments where they place sounds
- 2:15:37Speaker 57: through water and it changes the shapes of the molecules?
- 2:15:40Speaker 10: Oh, yeah. Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:15:42Speaker 63: Fascinating.
- 2:15:43Speaker 7: They play like angry rock.
- 2:15:44Speaker 57: Music and they put it through the water and the
- 2:15:45Speaker 57: water molecules look all messed up. But they play like
- 2:15:47Speaker 57: Mozart or whatever. They'll make like cool geometric shapes and,
- 2:15:51Speaker 57: you know, nice looking shapes.
- 2:15:52Speaker 63: There was a gentleman who just did an active live
- 2:15:56Speaker 63: art installation and And I don't gosh, I'm blanking on
- 2:16:00Speaker 63: the museum it was at. It might have been in
- 2:16:02Speaker 63: New York, but it was water and singing bowls at
- 2:16:06Speaker 63: the same time. But then they projected what the water
- 2:16:10Speaker 63: did on big screens on the walls around you. But
- 2:16:15Speaker 63: people could sit in the room, not only see what
- 2:16:17Speaker 63: was happening. in real time how the water changed with
- 2:16:22Speaker 63: the bowls and with the music playing as well yeah.
- 2:16:27Speaker 57: Yeah that sounds really cool yeah really cool it's.
- 2:16:29Speaker 5: Amazing mike great call and listen stay curious and you
- 2:16:32Speaker 5: know uh if you've heard the segment before with the
- 2:16:35Speaker 5: soul coach it was just amazing these are things you
- 2:16:38Speaker 5: know check her out check out all the things that's
- 2:16:40Speaker 5: going on but stay curious and and And people are
- 2:16:43Speaker 5: waking up, Lady Mo, to the energy and how this
- 2:16:46Speaker 5: works and how it can affect your life.
- 2:16:49Speaker 37: Agreed.
- 2:16:49Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:16:50Speaker 63: Positivity is a thing. You know, I think there's a
- 2:16:55Speaker 63: little bit of a happy medium. You know, every day
- 2:16:57Speaker 63: isn't always rainbows and sunshine. We say that in our house. Like, okay,
- 2:17:01Speaker 63: you got to feel some emotion sometimes and just like.
- 2:17:05Speaker 63: Emotions are energy in motion. We have to have them
- 2:17:08Speaker 63: go through us in order to get out on the
- 2:17:10Speaker 63: other side.
- 2:17:11Speaker 23: Okay.
- 2:17:12Speaker 63: Um, and it's, it's really important to not ignore that
- 2:17:16Speaker 63: and stifle energy.
- 2:17:18Speaker 5: So no, again, great call. And again, we have time
- 2:17:22Speaker 5: for maybe one more, uh, about two minutes left, 8
- 2:17:25Speaker 5: 6 0 4 6 4 9 4 9 0. If
- 2:17:27Speaker 5: you've got something quick you want to say or feel or, or, uh,
- 2:17:31Speaker 5: you know, just deliver to us as a message. We're
- 2:17:33Speaker 5: here for you.
- 2:17:34Speaker 63: We are here for you.
- 2:17:36Speaker 5: What else is happening?
- 2:17:37Speaker 63: Oh man, I'm in a good place. I'm in a
- 2:17:38Speaker 63: really good place. School just started, uh, back to school.
- 2:17:41Speaker 63: So we did all of that. We did the ice
- 2:17:44Speaker 63: cream social and the fun.
- 2:17:46Speaker 5: Back i remember that it's fantastic yeah.
- 2:17:50Speaker 1: The fire the fire.
- 2:17:51Speaker 63: Truck rides and everything and the you know that's all
- 2:17:54Speaker 63: over with it's that we were we're still in summer
- 2:17:56Speaker 63: mode though we've had a couple late nights we were
- 2:17:58Speaker 63: at water's edge visiting with cousins uh last night and
- 2:18:02Speaker 63: the night before and having fun, living our best lives
- 2:18:05Speaker 63: and family time is the best time. I'm also part of, uh,
- 2:18:12Speaker 63: an initiative in Waterford. Shout out to my friend, Kate
- 2:18:15Speaker 63: Livingston and Rob rule. We're doing, uh, wait until eighth, uh,
- 2:18:22Speaker 63: delay the smartphone. Uh, we, it is super important. We, um,
- 2:18:28Speaker 63: You know, Kate teaches health and phys ed at Clark Lane,
- 2:18:34Speaker 63: and so she sees it firsthand. She's a teacher, and
- 2:18:38Speaker 63: I'm sure if you have any teachers in your life
- 2:18:41Speaker 63: or teenagers or you talk to parents, I mean, listen,
- 2:18:44Speaker 63: you have to live under a rock if you don't
- 2:18:45Speaker 63: know it. Cell phones... Smartphones in particular with social media,
- 2:18:50Speaker 63: not good for kids, not good for your developing brain.
- 2:18:53Speaker 63: It's a toilet bowl. It's another word. And the suicide
- 2:19:02Speaker 63: rates have gone up, all of it. So we're trying
- 2:19:07Speaker 63: to educate the community on that.
- 2:19:09Speaker 10: So what are you trying to do?
- 2:19:10Speaker 5: Stop people from giving phones up until 8 p.m.? What's
- 2:19:12Speaker 5: the purpose?
- 2:19:13Speaker 63: So it takes a village. We're trying to create cohorts
- 2:19:16Speaker 63: of families. that are like-minded, that want to delay the
- 2:19:23Speaker 63: smartphones for as long as possible. And I think we
- 2:19:26Speaker 63: have a phone call, maybe on energy or smartphones.
- 2:19:29Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 2:19:29Speaker 5: Let's take it. Who is calling?
- 2:19:30Speaker 31: Who is this?
- 2:19:32Speaker 5: Hello?
- 2:19:33Speaker 57: Hi. Hey.
- 2:19:33Speaker 36: Steve, I was.
- 2:19:34Speaker 62: Calling about, I went over to McCook the day of
- 2:19:38Speaker 62: Earth Day.
- 2:19:38Speaker 5: Okay, yeah.
- 2:19:39Speaker 62: And my four-year-old, I mean, the fourth grader, Samasabachi, was singing.
- 2:19:44Speaker 62: And they did a great job.
- 2:19:45Speaker 38: They were amazing.
- 2:19:46Speaker 62: But my question to you is, after the event, my
- 2:19:49Speaker 62: granddaughter asked me what your shirt meant that you wore
- 2:19:52Speaker 62: that day.
- 2:19:53Speaker 57: And it had resist on it. Oh, yeah.
- 2:19:55Speaker 5: So it was, so it had, if I remember, I
- 2:19:58Speaker 5: have a shirt that I wear. It has all the
- 2:20:01Speaker 5: Muppet characters. Yep. And it says resist. And that's because
- 2:20:05Speaker 5: they tried to shut down PBS and PBS funding and
- 2:20:12Speaker 5: funding for kids. So that shirt is essentially the Muppets, kids,
- 2:20:20Speaker 5: and everything for children's programming to maintain and to be
- 2:20:25Speaker 5: on the air because it's very important. So that's what
- 2:20:29Speaker 5: that shirt is.
- 2:20:30Speaker 44: I agree.
- 2:20:30Speaker 62: It is important, but you didn't explain that to the
- 2:20:33Speaker 62: fourth graders. So when we left that day, I had
- 2:20:37Speaker 62: to explain what resist meant.
- 2:20:39Speaker 5: Well, that's a great point, and I appreciate it. And
- 2:20:42Speaker 5: next time I wear the shirt, I can definitely say
- 2:20:44Speaker 5: to folks, we want children's programming, and this is to
- 2:20:48Speaker 5: make sure that children's programming continues at the highest level.
- 2:20:54Speaker 5: And there's nothing better, and it's great that it has
- 2:20:56Speaker 5: Muppets on it. because, you know, one of the shows
- 2:20:59Speaker 5: they wanted to get rid of was Sesame Street, right?
- 2:21:02Speaker 5: And so... Oh, my gosh, my son grew up on
- 2:21:05Speaker 5: Sesame Street. I know, I grew up on it, right?
- 2:21:06Speaker 5: It's like, it's amazing. So it's just symbolic. So absolutely
- 2:21:11Speaker 5: I could, you know, make that statement next time, and
- 2:21:14Speaker 5: I appreciate your call for sure.
- 2:21:16Speaker 62: Really, because, I mean, to me it was a political
- 2:21:18Speaker 62: statement because we didn't know any other reason for wearing it.
- 2:21:22Speaker 62: So I don't think fourth graders should be exposed to that,
- 2:21:25Speaker 62: to be honest.
- 2:21:26Speaker 5: Well, I just want programming for kids. That's what I want.
- 2:21:31Speaker 5: And that's all it was. But I appreciate the call.
- 2:21:35Speaker 5: We have one more calling, another call coming in from,
- 2:21:39Speaker 5: I think, Tim from Lisbon.
- 2:21:42Speaker 35: Yeah.
- 2:21:43Speaker 59: Hello.
- 2:21:43Speaker 23: Hello, Tim.
- 2:21:44Speaker 5: You are on the air. How are you?
- 2:21:45Speaker 38: Jim?
- 2:21:46Speaker 7: I'm good.
- 2:21:48Speaker 60: Listen, I'll make it real quick because I know you're
- 2:21:49Speaker 60: running out of time.
- 2:21:50Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:21:51Speaker 60: All the things that you've been talking about, the powers,
- 2:21:53Speaker 60: the energies and all that.
- 2:21:54Speaker 40: Yeah.
- 2:21:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:21:55Speaker 60: Why is the first thing, as humans, because I notice
- 2:21:58Speaker 60: this a lot, the first thing we eliminate is God.
- 2:22:01Speaker 60: It's not from God. Where's it from? It's from this.
- 2:22:04Speaker 60: It's from the stars.
- 2:22:05Speaker 35: It's from da-da-da-da-da-da.
- 2:22:07Speaker 60: Why can't it be God? That energy that you're talking about,
- 2:22:11Speaker 60: Lady Mo, from the universe or whatever, why can't that
- 2:22:14Speaker 60: be God?
- 2:22:14Speaker 63: Well, it is for a lot of people. It is
- 2:22:17Speaker 63: for a lot of people. And so I don't discredit
- 2:22:20Speaker 63: that at all. I actually think God is within us all.
- 2:22:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:22:26Speaker 33: Amen.
- 2:22:27Speaker 5: And I would say, you know, if you believe it's
- 2:22:29Speaker 5: from God, then fabulous. And that is your belief, and
- 2:22:33Speaker 5: we all respect that. Rocky and I respect that. We
- 2:22:35Speaker 5: had the conversation earlier. You know, it can be whatever
- 2:22:38Speaker 5: place that you want to put it in. Yeah. And
- 2:22:42Speaker 5: so for me, it might not be that, but that's okay.
- 2:22:46Speaker 5: And for you, it might be that, and that's also okay.
- 2:22:49Speaker 21: Okay.
- 2:22:49Speaker 60: I'd just like to encourage people, don't eliminate that first
- 2:22:53Speaker 60: of all.
- 2:22:54Speaker 16: Sure.
- 2:22:54Speaker 60: Keep that as a possibility.
- 2:22:56Speaker 5: All possibilities, all opinions are welcome here. And I think
- 2:22:59Speaker 5: we're off. We're going to be back on our next segment.
- 2:23:01Speaker 5: Thank you so much.
- 2:23:19Speaker 1: Coffee rings on a paper map.
- 2:23:21Speaker 9: Three cups in a tarot stack.
- 2:23:22Speaker 18: You pull the sun, I pull the star.
- 2:23:25Speaker 7: We make a promise where we are.
- 2:23:27Speaker 18: Steve Elsie says, come on through. Lady Moses, I believe
- 2:23:30Speaker 18: in you.
- 2:23:30Speaker 31: Hands together, hearts awake.
- 2:23:32Speaker 18: Love the earth with everything. We share the.
- 2:23:41Speaker 32: Spark, carry kindness through the dark.
- 2:23:45Speaker 2: One small song, one open door, make the radio great.
- 2:24:19Speaker 5: Preston Trading Post, hard to find, impossible to forget.
- 2:24:22Speaker 9: No, you forgot the whole thing.
- 2:24:23Speaker 27: Well, I'll put that in after.
- 2:24:25Speaker 9: No, I'm seeing this line.
- 2:24:26Speaker 18: Okay, you say that one.
- 2:24:27Speaker 5: Go ahead and say it.
- 2:24:29Speaker 18: Preston Trading Post, hard to find, impossible to forget.
- 2:24:33Speaker 5: What's my line?
- 2:24:34Speaker 27: This one.
- 2:24:35Speaker 5: We should just do this.
- 2:24:37Speaker 18: No, you do this. You do this line.
- 2:24:39Speaker 5: So, yes, we may be a little off the beaten path,
- 2:24:42Speaker 5: but that's only because the beaten path doesn't have this
- 2:24:46Speaker 5: much good stuff in it.
- 2:24:47Speaker 18: On it.
- 2:24:48Speaker 47: On it.

- 2:28:25Speaker 21: union where members bank better well 54 years ago today
- 2:28:29Speaker 21: back in 1972 something happened at the summer olympics in
- 2:28:33Speaker 21: munich west germany that had never happened before Mark Spitz
- 2:28:37Speaker 21: of Team USA put on a clinic. He won the
- 2:28:40Speaker 21: 200-meter butterfly, and he kept winning. He'd go on to
- 2:28:43Speaker 21: win seven gold medals in total at those Olympic Games,
- 2:28:46Speaker 21: and in the process, set seven new world records, too.
- 2:28:50Speaker 21: It was an Olympic feat that nobody thought would ever
- 2:28:52Speaker 21: be duplicated.
- 2:28:54Speaker 10: But you know how sports goes. Records are made to
- 2:28:56Speaker 10: be broken.
- 2:28:57Speaker 21: And Michael Phelps came along at the Beijing Olympics and
- 2:28:59Speaker 21: won eight gold medals.
- 2:29:01Speaker 10: Then four more in London, and then five more in Rio.
- 2:29:04Speaker 21: Phelps may be the greatest swimmer of the 21st century,
- 2:29:07Speaker 21: but Mark Spitz was the baddest man in the pool

- 2:29:41Speaker 37: the inspector general investigates. Two people were seriously injured yesterday
- 2:29:46Speaker 37: afternoon when a motorcycle and a dump truck collided at
- 2:29:50Speaker 37: Gulf Road and Route 16 in East Hampton. Both motorcycle
- 2:29:54Speaker 37: riders were flown by Lifestar to Hartford Hospital. and the
- 2:29:57Speaker 37: crash remains under investigation. A 54-year-old Waterford man has died

- 2:30:12Speaker 37: and OSHA is investigating. Connecticut has confirmed its first human
- 2:30:17Speaker 37: case of West Nile virus this year in a Middlesex
- 2:30:20Speaker 37: County man. He was hospitalized after becoming sick in early
- 2:30:24Speaker 37: August and has since recovered. I-95 North in New London

- 2:31:03Speaker 23: I'm Rob Ray. When news breaks, we break in.
- 2:31:09Speaker 5: Hey, welcome back, everyone. Welcome back. This has been a
- 2:31:12Speaker 5: fantastic show. I want to thank 94.9, but we have
- 2:31:17Speaker 5: a very special guest here. Hayward Gatch is someone who
- 2:31:22Speaker 5: writes in, calls in, and always delivers some meaningful conversation
- 2:31:27Speaker 5: with a deep skill set of knowledge behind every conversation.
- 2:31:32Speaker 5: I really appreciate it, and I'm happy you're here today.
- 2:31:34Speaker 5: Thanks for being with us.
- 2:31:35Speaker 41: Hey, thank you so much for the invite. I'm always
- 2:31:37Speaker 41: happy to be here. It's a delight to be on 94.9,
- 2:31:41Speaker 41: especially on The Voice of Freedom.
- 2:31:43Speaker 39: Yes.
- 2:31:43Speaker 44: Yeah.
- 2:31:44Speaker 41: So, you know, one thing that I really think is
- 2:31:46Speaker 41: important to talk about, and this is something that anyone
- 2:31:50Speaker 41: who's truly honest, in my opinion, could notice as a
- 2:31:54Speaker 41: trajectory within our society. Folks on Rumble might notice that
- 2:31:57Speaker 41: I'm wearing a tan suit, and that's a little reminder
- 2:32:00Speaker 41: for A certain time a few years ago when a
- 2:32:04Speaker 41: president happened to wear a tan suit and the country
- 2:32:07Speaker 41: fell into a state of deep turmoil, people were very
- 2:32:10Speaker 41: upset over it.
- 2:32:11Speaker 23: What have we done?
- 2:32:12Speaker 31: He's wearing a tan suit.
- 2:32:14Speaker 7: Good Lord.
- 2:32:16Speaker 41: And now we fast forward a few years and see
- 2:32:19Speaker 41: the shifting baselines in terms of what is and isn't acceptable.
- 2:32:23Speaker 41: And I find that utterly fascinating. You know, some people
- 2:32:27Speaker 41: believe in this concept of entropy where things trend toward
- 2:32:30Speaker 41: disorder and decay over time. It's one of the principles
- 2:32:34Speaker 41: of thermodynamics. And maybe that's playing out here, because it
- 2:32:37Speaker 41: really seems that the types of things that are acceptable
- 2:32:42Speaker 41: amongst the people that are at least allegedly meant to
- 2:32:46Speaker 41: be representatives of the American people are shifting probably not
- 2:32:50Speaker 41: so much in a good direction. The types of things that,
- 2:32:54Speaker 41: you know, Obama did policy-wise, I may have had my
- 2:32:57Speaker 41: issues with. I was, you know, I'm on this liberal
- 2:33:01Speaker 41: invasion thing. I'm not a liberal. I'm of an entirely
- 2:33:04Speaker 41: weirder political tendency that doesn't really fit neatly in either direction. However,
- 2:33:10Speaker 41: that meant that when people on the right critiqued Obama
- 2:33:13Speaker 41: on certain things, I tended to agree. And also when
- 2:33:16Speaker 41: people on the further side of the left critiqued Obama,
- 2:33:20Speaker 41: I tend to find myself agreeing as well. Like, for example,
- 2:33:23Speaker 41: the expansion of mass surveillance under Obama or the the
- 2:33:27Speaker 41: normalization of the use of drone bombing, including an American
- 2:33:31Speaker 41: citizen overseas. That was something that folks on the left
- 2:33:34Speaker 41: were critiquing. Folks in the middle were more so just saying, oh, well,
- 2:33:37Speaker 41: it was a terrorist, whatever. But folks in my political
- 2:33:41Speaker 41: tendency wonder, what is this laying the groundwork for? Just
- 2:33:45Speaker 41: about everything that happens within statecraft tends to have its
- 2:33:49Speaker 41: upfront basis and its long-term intention, or maybe not intentionally,
- 2:33:55Speaker 41: but what it's laying the groundwork for in the future.
- 2:33:59Speaker 41: There's this concept called the imperial boomerang, also known as
- 2:34:02Speaker 41: Foucault's boomerang. We talked about it, I think, a few
- 2:34:04Speaker 41: weeks back. The idea being that the things that are
- 2:34:07Speaker 41: used to maintain order in the colonies or war zones
- 2:34:11Speaker 41: will eventually be turned on the people themselves. Now, this
- 2:34:14Speaker 41: is a concept people used to understand all over the place.
- 2:34:18Speaker 41: It was a fairly common thing. Whenever there was an
- 2:34:20Speaker 41: infringement upon our liberties that our founders gave us, People
- 2:34:24Speaker 41: would say, oh, well, what is this laying the groundwork for?
- 2:34:27Speaker 41: A little guy named George Orwell had some ideas as well,
- 2:34:31Speaker 41: trying to have these cautionary tales. Anytime you will have
- 2:34:36Speaker 41: something happening in the government, you have to ask yourself,
- 2:34:40Speaker 41: what are the next steps? Because almost always, tyranny will
- 2:34:44Speaker 41: try to seduce you with its rational best interest. It's, oh,
- 2:34:49Speaker 41: these flock cameras will allow you to It will allow
- 2:34:53Speaker 41: you to catch criminals.
- 2:34:54Speaker 31: That's great.
- 2:34:55Speaker 41: Fantastic. However, what else is it doing? Do we trust
- 2:34:59Speaker 41: the American government to have yet another layer upon dozens
- 2:35:03Speaker 41: of layers of ways of surveilling us? Is it for
- 2:35:06Speaker 41: our best interest? And, you know, ask an indigenous person
- 2:35:11Speaker 41: of America if they trust our government to be benevolent.
- 2:35:14Speaker 41: Ask any minority in this country if they trust our
- 2:35:16Speaker 41: government to be benevolent. It's simply ahistorical. And you can
- 2:35:20Speaker 41: go through just about any issue of what our government
- 2:35:23Speaker 41: is doing and find that skepticism.
- 2:35:26Speaker 36: Agreed.
- 2:35:26Speaker 41: And that skepticism comes from our founders. It's literally in
- 2:35:29Speaker 41: the Declaration of Independence where it says if the government
- 2:35:32Speaker 41: becomes destructive to these principles, we have the right and
- 2:35:36Speaker 41: responsibility to alter or abolish it and institute something new.
- 2:35:40Speaker 41: That was in our founding documents.
- 2:35:42Speaker 61: Mm-hmm.
- 2:35:43Speaker 41: And now we have a situation where we have this
- 2:35:45Speaker 41: cultic dynamic around what seems to be the worship of
- 2:35:49Speaker 41: power itself. And people now, of course in both parties,
- 2:35:54Speaker 41: but people now are taking advantage of this consistent erosion
- 2:35:59Speaker 41: of social norms based in liberty, based in common decency.
- 2:36:02Speaker 41: As a Christian, I'll argue Christian values, but you can
- 2:36:04Speaker 41: have your own opinion on that. This stuff is eroding,
- 2:36:08Speaker 41: and more and more things are becoming allowed to And
- 2:36:12Speaker 41: not even so much allowed, but not even remarkable anymore. Think,
- 2:36:16Speaker 41: for example, about the corruption allegations around Hunter Biden, right?
- 2:36:22Speaker 41: Burisma Holdings, all that kind of stuff. And I was thinking, well, sure,
- 2:36:26Speaker 41: I don't like nepotism. That's not all that great. Now,
- 2:36:29Speaker 41: we fast forward a few years and you see the
- 2:36:31Speaker 41: types of nepotism that we're having now in this administration.
- 2:36:35Speaker 41: And if you look at the amount of money in
- 2:36:37Speaker 41: question with the whole Hunter Biden thing versus the amount
- 2:36:40Speaker 41: of money he's enriched his own family. The charts side
- 2:36:43Speaker 41: by side are functionally impossible to see the Hunter Biden corruption.
- 2:36:47Speaker 41: And I'm against corruption across the board. It's a matter
- 2:36:50Speaker 41: of principle. So we see this stuff happening now.
- 2:36:54Speaker 5: And you're talking about Hunter Biden versus Trump at that point.
- 2:36:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:36:59Speaker 5: The other person wasn't named there.
- 2:37:01Speaker 10: Right.
- 2:37:01Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 2:37:02Speaker 41: So you remember how there was all this controversy around it.
- 2:37:05Speaker 41: And I'm– because I exist somewhat outside the political norms,
- 2:37:08Speaker 41: will say to people, yeah, oh, I'm right there with you.
- 2:37:11Speaker 41: I think that's a problem. I think that's worth investigating.
- 2:37:14Speaker 41: Do I think it's also questionable that he pardoned his son?
- 2:37:18Speaker 41: It's understandable as a father. I'm a father too. But
- 2:37:22Speaker 41: you have to ask yourself, well, what is this paving
- 2:37:24Speaker 41: the way for? What does this allow– what does this
- 2:37:26Speaker 41: create a permission structure for in future administrations? And with
- 2:37:30Speaker 41: a president so profoundly comfortable with a transactional way of
- 2:37:36Speaker 41: being in this country, we have levels of corruption that
- 2:37:40Speaker 41: I don't think we've ever seen in modern American history.
- 2:37:43Speaker 5: No, I agree with that.
- 2:37:45Speaker 23: And now people are just thinking it's fine.
- 2:37:47Speaker 41: And we've also pathologized critique. So when someone says this
- 2:37:51Speaker 41: is a problem, they say, oh, we have Trump derangement syndrome.
- 2:37:55Speaker 41: You have created a situation where any critique can be
- 2:37:58Speaker 41: immediately labeled as an illness.
- 2:38:00Speaker 7: Now, that's, again, dangerous.
- 2:38:02Speaker 41: It removes the possibility of legitimate critique and conversation. That's
- 2:38:06Speaker 41: one of the reasons I'm such a huge fan of
- 2:38:07Speaker 41: this station is because that conversation and critique can actually
- 2:38:11Speaker 41: happen in a good faith dialogue. It's frustrating when you
- 2:38:14Speaker 41: can't have that. And the reason I use that word
- 2:38:16Speaker 41: cultic dynamic is because that is how these things work.
- 2:38:20Speaker 41: Critique will be silenced. Any disloyalty will be silenced or
- 2:38:24Speaker 41: pushed aside. And, I mean, think about in the early
- 2:38:28Speaker 41: part of this latest term he's got. There was the
- 2:38:32Speaker 41: Trump's literal golden calf statue in Mar-a-Lago covered in $ 100
- 2:38:38Speaker 41: bills with his name on it. Like, what are we doing? Now, again,
- 2:38:42Speaker 41: as a Christian— I have certain feelings about idols, Golden
- 2:38:45Speaker 41: Calf maybe specifically. But this is a thing that was
- 2:38:49Speaker 41: in what is essentially his house. I know it's kind
- 2:38:51Speaker 41: of a hotel too. Lord help anyone previously if they
- 2:38:54Speaker 41: had done something like that because that would be all
- 2:38:57Speaker 41: over the news and you would have incredible amounts of outrage.
- 2:39:01Speaker 41: Then we start to move to the giant golden statue
- 2:39:04Speaker 41: of himself.
- 2:39:05Speaker 5: He puts out so much. And maybe this is a plan.
- 2:39:11Speaker 5: He puts out so much. Like spaghetti on a wall.
- 2:39:14Speaker 5: You can't. I mean, you're a very intelligent individual. We
- 2:39:17Speaker 5: all are here to listen on the station. But you
- 2:39:18Speaker 5: can't simply follow and follow up with all that's happening.
- 2:39:23Speaker 5: It's like so much is against the wall and so
- 2:39:25Speaker 5: much is in the insanity realm. How do you go
- 2:39:28Speaker 5: down it to try to defend it? And by the
- 2:39:30Speaker 5: time you get– he's already on to something else. It's
- 2:39:32Speaker 5: like– and then the whole idea of– it's no longer
- 2:39:38Speaker 5: affecting you because it's so much of it, you're almost numb.
- 2:39:41Speaker 31: To it all.
- 2:39:42Speaker 41: Well, yeah, this is part of what's called the flood
- 2:39:44Speaker 41: the zone strategy, the idea being that you create so
- 2:39:48Speaker 41: much controversy, so much going on that it inundates the
- 2:39:51Speaker 41: news cycle to the point where a lot of the
- 2:39:54Speaker 41: things that you might actually be more interested in doing
- 2:39:58Speaker 41: like maybe selling out our population to corporate interests, maybe
- 2:40:02Speaker 41: like doing corporate asset stripping, because, boy, this sure seems
- 2:40:06Speaker 41: like something we're dealing with right now. When that stuff
- 2:40:08Speaker 41: is happening, we're too busy about talking about the fact that, hey,
- 2:40:11Speaker 41: they just renamed Lake Ontario to Lake America, something that
- 2:40:17Speaker 41: doesn't do anything about affordability.
- 2:40:20Speaker 5: And really quick on that, I guess I just want
- 2:40:23Speaker 5: everybody to realize that It wasn't named Ontario because of Canada.
- 2:40:28Speaker 5: It was named Ontario because of the indigenous people. They
- 2:40:32Speaker 5: gave it that name. They were– so to rename it
- 2:40:36Speaker 5: is sort of just erasing the indigenous people and their
- 2:40:40Speaker 5: way of being and their celebration of that part of
- 2:40:42Speaker 5: the world, which– It just goes on to the bulldozer
- 2:40:47Speaker 5: of Donald Trump, who just doesn't care, right?
- 2:40:49Speaker 41: Well, you know, this administration, as well as I would
- 2:40:52Speaker 41: argue the broader political mainstream, requires the large-scale erasure of
- 2:40:57Speaker 41: history in order to function. Now, for example, a couple
- 2:41:00Speaker 41: months back, we talked about the placards being removed somewhere
- 2:41:04Speaker 41: in D.C. that talked about slavery. You know, this erasure
- 2:41:07Speaker 41: of history is foundational to any authoritarian project, regardless of
- 2:41:13Speaker 41: what party it comes from. And Orwell also warned about
- 2:41:16Speaker 41: this kind of stuff. You know, we've always been at
- 2:41:17Speaker 41: war with East Asia. That kind of stuff is a
- 2:41:22Speaker 41: dynamic within authoritarian power structures that is studied, understood, repeated,
- 2:41:28Speaker 41: and yet we're still sleepwalking through history, completely ignoring what's happening.
- 2:41:32Speaker 5: So why, if all this is going, and I agree
- 2:41:35Speaker 5: with you on everything. So if this is happening, if
- 2:41:37Speaker 5: this erasing of history, this sort of bulldozing through everything
- 2:41:42Speaker 5: with clutter of nonsense... Why aren't we rising up to
- 2:41:46Speaker 5: stop it? What's going on? The people aren't rising to say, hey,
- 2:41:50Speaker 5: we've had enough of this. Why isn't there a pushback?
- 2:41:54Speaker 41: Well, there is an ever-diminishing number of people that are
- 2:41:56Speaker 41: so loyal to this administration and this person that there
- 2:42:00Speaker 41: is simply no amount of factual information that can break
- 2:42:05Speaker 41: through that cognitive dissonance. However, your question is purely to
- 2:42:08Speaker 41: the majority of people. And why isn't that happening? There
- 2:42:11Speaker 41: are a couple of reasons. Remember that whole affordability thing?
- 2:42:14Speaker 36: Yeah.
- 2:42:14Speaker 41: I work like 80 hours a week just to stay alive.
- 2:42:16Speaker 41: So Nietzsche once said work is the best police, by
- 2:42:20Speaker 41: which he meant in that quote. If you are having
- 2:42:23Speaker 41: to work so constantly just to stay alive, the higher
- 2:42:27Speaker 41: concept questions, the possibility of resistance become impossible and can
- 2:42:32Speaker 41: be more repressive than an actual direct downward pressure on
- 2:42:36Speaker 41: the people. And that's there for anyone who breaks through,
- 2:42:38Speaker 41: of course. But the work is one thing. The affordability
- 2:42:42Speaker 41: is another thing. And I would argue the large-scale assassination
- 2:42:46Speaker 41: of the American intellect has happened over the course of
- 2:42:49Speaker 41: my lifetime and probably to a large degree before as well.
- 2:42:52Speaker 41: But thinking about the literacy scores in the schools that
- 2:42:56Speaker 41: I went to, absolutely abysmal. And even if you can
- 2:42:59Speaker 41: learn to read, it doesn't matter if you know how
- 2:43:01Speaker 41: to read. Perhaps if you're not reading, if there's not
- 2:43:04Speaker 41: a spirit of inquiry, if school is reduced to passing
- 2:43:08Speaker 41: a test rather than inspiring the interest in learning itself,
- 2:43:12Speaker 41: you are going to have a very easily controllable population.
- 2:43:16Speaker 41: And so people will simply shrug with this dull ache
- 2:43:19Speaker 41: in them that something is wrong, but they won't have
- 2:43:20Speaker 41: the cognitive framework to define it.
- 2:43:23Speaker 5: Awesome. Awesome. Again, we're here with Hayward Gatch. And everything
- 2:43:28Speaker 5: you're saying here, it's spot on. And by the way,
- 2:43:31Speaker 5: if you want to join our conversation, it's 860-464-9490. And
- 2:43:33Speaker 5: I hear the words that you're speaking, and it's sad. Like,
- 2:43:35Speaker 5: I'm actually sad now. Because what you're saying is actually happening.
- 2:43:49Speaker 5: And that feeling that you're talking about, it's here. It's
- 2:43:54Speaker 5: inside of me. And I'm actually sad because, you know,
- 2:43:57Speaker 5: words are spells. So you're saying things, but they're actually true.
- 2:44:00Speaker 5: And it's happening. And this is the direction our government
- 2:44:03Speaker 5: is doing. They're actually trying purposefully to keep us low frequency.
- 2:44:09Speaker 32: Sure.
- 2:44:10Speaker 41: There are many ways that you can describe this dynamic.
- 2:44:15Speaker 41: I might tend to lean more on historical terms, but yes,
- 2:44:19Speaker 41: you have to remember that foundationally, back to its very beginning,
- 2:44:22Speaker 41: the purpose of governments and states has been to consolidate
- 2:44:27Speaker 41: and maintain power. That is what they're for. Now, if
- 2:44:30Speaker 41: you can dress that up with a welfare state, for example,
- 2:44:34Speaker 41: or highways or a really cool air force, Those are
- 2:44:38Speaker 41: all things that can be added to what is fundamentally
- 2:44:41Speaker 41: a state, but if you strip everything down to just
- 2:44:44Speaker 41: a power structure and an ability to extort whatever they
- 2:44:48Speaker 41: want from their citizenry, that's still a state. So by
- 2:44:51Speaker 41: what I mean, that is the foundation, and that is
- 2:44:53Speaker 41: still there. You can throw as many layers on top
- 2:44:56Speaker 41: of it as you want, but its foundational interests are
- 2:44:59Speaker 41: still there.
- 2:45:00Speaker 7: And will be expressed.
- 2:45:01Speaker 41: And this is why people like me are deeply skeptical
- 2:45:04Speaker 41: of dynamics of power, no matter where they are, because
- 2:45:07Speaker 41: we foundationally do not trust power.
- 2:45:11Speaker 5: OK, so really quick, really quick. So we have an
- 2:45:15Speaker 5: election coming up. So we're talking about power and we're
- 2:45:18Speaker 5: talking about control and how and frequency and keeping people down.
- 2:45:22Speaker 5: So how do you see this playing out? I mean,
- 2:45:24Speaker 5: so hear me out for a second. So we have
- 2:45:26Speaker 5: an election and let's say it's a blue wave, as
- 2:45:29Speaker 5: they as they say it might be. What happens to
- 2:45:33Speaker 5: Donald Trump at that point? Is he litigated for the
- 2:45:38Speaker 5: rest of his life? Is he going to be impeached
- 2:45:40Speaker 5: at that point? And if you're Donald Trump, what do
- 2:45:44Speaker 5: you do about it?
- 2:45:46Speaker 41: Well, if there is this blue wave in the midterms,
- 2:45:49Speaker 41: if you have a situation where all these investigations are happening,
- 2:45:52Speaker 41: it's certainly not going to be hard to find things.
- 2:45:56Speaker 41: You know, you have a country right now that is
- 2:45:59Speaker 41: witnessing the daily unfolding of levels of corruption that would
- 2:46:02Speaker 41: have ruined previous presidencies. I don't remember specifically who said it,
- 2:46:06Speaker 41: but one of the people associated with the Trump administration
- 2:46:08Speaker 41: recently said, I think it's ridiculous that Watergate ended the
- 2:46:11Speaker 41: Nixon administration. And the reason they say that, of course,
- 2:46:13Speaker 41: is because what they're doing now is so far beyond
- 2:46:17Speaker 41: the pale.
- 2:46:18Speaker 40: Yeah.
- 2:46:18Speaker 41: And so I think it's entirely possible he will be
- 2:46:22Speaker 41: stuck in investigations for the remainder of his life, especially.
- 2:46:25Speaker 5: Do you think he's going to try to stop or
- 2:46:28Speaker 5: proactively say, hey, the elections were rigged?
- 2:46:31Speaker 31: Well, absolutely.
- 2:46:32Speaker 5: You think that's what's going to happen?
- 2:46:33Speaker 41: I think it's part of his nature to always say
- 2:46:36Speaker 41: that things are rigged. I think people on either side
- 2:46:39Speaker 41: of the aisle can agree— This is broadly in alignment
- 2:46:42Speaker 41: with a narcissistic type personality that really struggles with the
- 2:46:45Speaker 41: idea that he could ever lose. And that's actually something
- 2:46:48Speaker 41: that might be very helpful in the business world, right?
- 2:46:50Speaker 41: You just keep going. You never admit defeat. That's helpful
- 2:46:53Speaker 41: in that context. Now, when we're all subject to it,
- 2:46:56Speaker 41: maybe it's a little bit less helpful. I don't think
- 2:46:58Speaker 41: he will ever admit defeat regardless of what happens. Even
- 2:47:02Speaker 41: in 2016, he said, well, I'll accept the results if
- 2:47:04Speaker 41: I win. So this is a personality type that is
- 2:47:07Speaker 41: known and understood. However, I also think that his health
- 2:47:12Speaker 41: is certainly not in its best form. You know, if
- 2:47:14Speaker 41: you really look at how he is on a day-to-day basis,
- 2:47:18Speaker 41: when I say I think he'll be investigated, for the
- 2:47:20Speaker 41: remainder of his earthly life, I think that's because I
- 2:47:23Speaker 41: don't know how much longer it's going to be.
- 2:47:25Speaker 23: The guy's 80 and in poor health.
- 2:47:27Speaker 5: I got you. So we're going to stop for a second.
- 2:47:28Speaker 5: We're going to go to line one here. Dan is
- 2:47:30Speaker 5: on line one. Dan, welcome to the show.
- 2:47:33Speaker 59: Hey, thanks for having me on. I wanted to say
- 2:47:36Speaker 59: you mentioned entropy before. There is a caveat to entropy,
- 2:47:39Speaker 59: and that is, you know, if it's a closed system
- 2:47:42Speaker 59: where no energy is added, and I think that that's
- 2:47:45Speaker 59: probably what the important thing is here, is that energy
- 2:47:49Speaker 59: needs to be added. The only reason the whole, they
- 2:47:52Speaker 59: said something like if you took all the human beings
- 2:47:55Speaker 59: off the planet and waited 100 or 150 years, it's
- 2:48:00Speaker 59: some shockingly low number. They said you would not be
- 2:48:03Speaker 59: able to find any trace of humanity, except for maybe
- 2:48:07Speaker 59: the Hoover Dam. A couple things like that might be
- 2:48:09Speaker 59: still kicking around that you'd be able to find. But roads, bridges, tunnels, cities,
- 2:48:14Speaker 59: all gone. You would just look like there never was
- 2:48:17Speaker 59: a human unless you dug around in the dirt a little.
- 2:48:22Speaker 59: And I think that's important that good people do something
- 2:48:25Speaker 59: about it. You know, you have to add energy to
- 2:48:28Speaker 59: the system in order to stop the decay. And clearly
- 2:48:32Speaker 59: what we're experiencing is decay, you know, socially decay and
- 2:48:37Speaker 59: political decay. So, you know, it starts with that. The
- 2:48:41Speaker 59: other comment I wanted to make was about you sort
- 2:48:44Speaker 59: of discounted the Bible by saying that it was written
- 2:48:47Speaker 59: by man. I would also like to point out that
- 2:48:50Speaker 59: astrology charts and tarot cards and the books about energy
- 2:48:54Speaker 59: and all these other things are also written by man.
- 2:48:57Speaker 5: Right, but astrology we can see.
- 2:48:58Speaker 59: You have to give them a little bit of equal treatment.
- 2:49:01Speaker 5: Astrology, though, we can physically see, right? I can see
- 2:49:03Speaker 5: a star.
- 2:49:05Speaker 59: Sorry, got a train going by.
- 2:49:06Speaker 5: Yeah, no, that's okay. Sorry. Astrology you can physically measure, though, correct?
- 2:49:10Speaker 5: I can measure the astrology. I can measure the moons.
- 2:49:13Speaker 5: I can measure the planets, the orbits, and how it
- 2:49:15Speaker 5: all operates. I can measure that stuff. I can't measure...
- 2:49:19Speaker 5: when in the Bible Jesus is talking to God and
- 2:49:22Speaker 5: we're talking about it, and who is there documenting that?
- 2:49:25Speaker 5: I have no idea. How is that even happening? But
- 2:49:29Speaker 5: this is a larger conversation. Dan, I've got to run.
- 2:49:31Speaker 5: Thank you for the call, as always. Hayward, any last thoughts?
- 2:49:36Speaker 41: Well, I'll definitely agree with Dan's comments about adding energy
- 2:49:39Speaker 41: to the system. I think it's incumbent upon good people
- 2:49:41Speaker 41: to do the right thing, and even in very confusing times.
- 2:49:47Speaker 41: Doing the next right thing is very helpful. I will
- 2:49:50Speaker 41: perhaps gently push back on the astrology thing again, being
- 2:49:54Speaker 41: the other Christian in the room. I think, yes, we
- 2:49:57Speaker 41: can measure the moon. We can measure the stars. The
- 2:49:59Speaker 41: ascribing of additional meaning to it is something that we've done.
- 2:50:03Speaker 41: You know, it's a theory. It's an idea. And, yeah, sure,
- 2:50:07Speaker 41: you can measure the moon.
- 2:50:08Speaker 31: It's up there.
- 2:50:09Speaker 41: But whether or not it says, you know, how you're
- 2:50:11Speaker 41: going to feel today, that's, you know, a matter of belief.
- 2:50:14Speaker 7: All right.
- 2:50:15Speaker 5: Well, we have to go. Always a pleasure to have you, Hayward.
- 2:50:17Speaker 7: All right.
- 2:50:18Speaker 5: Next week, we have a great schedule for you. Monday, George. Tuesday, Tony. Wednesday, Bruce. Thursday,
- 2:50:28Speaker 5: Dan and Lady Mo. And Friday, me again. You know,
- 2:50:33Speaker 5: ready to rock the show. We'll put it all together.
- 2:50:37Speaker 5: And we'll go from there. So static element. was in
- 2:50:42Speaker 5: the studio yesterday to support America First, and this is
- 2:50:45Speaker 5: what they have to say. Here we go. Thank you,
- 2:50:49Speaker 5: and have a good Friday.
