Matt, how you doing? You're good man. Back for 32 episodes. 32. This is a. Cooper flag episode. Cooper flag episode. That's I wondering. It's your favorite, it's your favorite math right now. Who knows it might change. Not of all time, but currently, yeah. Speaking of Cooper flag, we'll have some NBA draft lottery coming up, but first we can get into Brody's of the week and I'll start us off Matt. I was going to ask, how are how are you doing? Well, that leads in perfect with my Brody of the week. Um, I went to the Ranger game this past weekend. Now on Saturday, and the Texas Rangers are my Brody of the Week. You might be like, why? Texas Rangers, they're a good ball club, but are they really that great? Well, the Chicago Cubs came into town, and the Chicago Cubs had previously won 10 games in a row. They were the hottest team in baseball. That wasn't until I went to the game on Saturday, and the Rangers shut them out. They won the game 6-0, got to see a Jack Leiter pitching performance. Didn't end up getting the win. I think it was a Beaks was the pitcher that ended up getting the win on it. But nonetheless, an absolute shutout. There was tons of Cubs fans at the game. And I was like, you know what? That's, I haven't been to a Ranger game where they got to like end a streak like that, especially like, I'm not going to lie. The Cubs are coming into town. was like, this isn't going to be a good result, but you know, I still have the tickets. I'm going to go. And it turned out to be in pretty good for me. So. And they were one the better players in baseball and. grew up strong. At PCA, he is actually just as fast as you think he is. ⁓ got to see him try and beat out a couple of balls. The first, actually got to see my first ABS challenge, which was exciting. It was like a pitch that Jack Leiter threw and they immediately challenged it. The umpire had called it a ball. Got to see the challenge, got to see the T-Mobile replay where they show the, ⁓ show it on the big screen. It was a, it was a strike and the stadium went crazy. I will say there was tons of Cubs fans there. I mean, they, they showed out. They was at one point, I heard a lot of let's go Cubbies chants going on. So then I had to let them know like, you know, let's go Rangers instead. wasn't going to get bullied in my own stadium. Let them know that's not how we do it here in Texas. I was going to say, I saw that he had like six track outs and like five walks. So was there a lot of ABS? No, it was just the one. Which I was expecting there was going to be a lot more. I also got to see, and there's a little bit of two guys I want to talk about. First I'm going to shout out Justin Foske, who I got to see his first big league home run. He's been with the Rangers for three years, but he's been playing a little bit more. was sort of dealing with some injuries. And then I want to shout out Josh Young, who's been the absolute hottest hitter in baseball. Matt, we were talking a little bit before the show. It seems like you've talked with some people. He didn't start off the hottest. went 0 for 17 in the month of March, but ever since April and May, he's been one of the hottest hitters around. I think the hottest third baseman in the league right now. the hottest hitter in April, just in general. Yeah, hottest hitter in April. He went 32 for 84 with a 381 average. And May so far, he's 14 for 38 with a 368 average. In the last 30 days, he has a 1.061 OPS. So he's absolutely lightened it up. And I did get to see in the game that I went to, he had a three hit game. And then the next Sunday, which was mother's day, he also had another three hit game. So back to back three hit games for him. get a home run this year as well. Yeah. He had a home run. That was part of the three hits. It was absolutely electric. So shout out to the Texas tech red Raider, Josh Young. Do remember last year? ⁓ I guess it was on mother's day that Josh Young's mother wore a split Jersey. ⁓ because his brother, Jayse Young, believe his brother. Yeah. They're playing Jayse Young same. forget. I think it's Detroit. Yeah, that sounds right. But she was running those. I thought that was very cool. Luckily, she didn't have to do that today. were able to, like I said, they were playing the Cubs and they ended up winning the series against the Cubs. Like I said, hottest team in baseball. ended up losing the first game on Friday, but then they won Saturday, Sunday. So absolute huge there. And Matt, you had a little thing about the Sunday game? Yeah. Mr. DeGrom. Jacob DeGrom? Did what? He did DeGrom stuff. Pitched seven innings, 94 pitches, had 10 strikeouts, only gave up three hits. That's just typical DeGrom fashion. Hopefully he can stay healthy for the rest of the season. So we can see more of this dominating. I was upsetting it to see the Grom day I have yet to see to Grom pitch for the Rangers at least live I've obviously seen on my TV, but you know what I did like that. It was a Jack lighter day and I was like, know what? At least we're gonna see some hits and Jack ladders a little he's like a baby to Grom. Yeah, he's Number two in the hole actually It's probably to Grom a Volte and then lighter. Yeah, I mean if there's hard he gets up stuff, but makes you up for it but so the Rangers Like I said, they're not the hottest club out there. They're 19 for 21, but they're tied for second in AL West. Once again, we're still early in the baseball season, so no need to ring the alarms yet. It seems like the AL West is a little down. I'll tell you, the Cubs are now 27 and 14. They are first in the NL Central, which is probably the strongest division in all of baseball. The whole division is above 500. So they're absolutely... It's going to be, that one's going to be a gauntlet for who makes it to the playoffs. Which division? It's the NL central. It's like the, ⁓ the Reds, the Cardinals, the, who else is there? Actually I have it here. ⁓ think Milwaukee is there too. The Pirates. I get all those right? I think there's five teams. Yeah. Cubs, Brewers, Cardinals, Pirates, Reds. I nailed it. It's a for the Pirates above 500. Yeah. I mean, the whole, the whole division's about 500. That's why it's just crazy that the Cubs were 10 and 0 and part of that was sweeping the Reds. The Reds have a differential of negative 33. And they're and 19. So I guess when they lose, they lose by a lot. Yeah, I going on as the, ⁓ as the season goes on, I like going through and just looking at all the stats. ⁓ like I said, Josh Young, you can get a lost tats on him. He's the hottest hitter in baseball. So keeping it moving there. Speaking of keeping it moving, my next Brody of the week, or should I say Brode of the week is Rachel Entriken. I apologize if I mispronounced the name, but I'm not going to apologize for her being my Brody of the week. She won the Coca-Dona 250, 250 miles across the Arizona desert. She completed it in 56 hours, nine minutes, 48 seconds. And did I mention that she won overall? She wasn't just the first woman to win this race. She was the first person to complete the race. She beat the boys. Absolutely electric stuff. And the five year existence of this race, no girl has ever won it outright and Rachel got it done. It's also her third year in a row winning the women's. And she set a new course record with that 56 hour pace. think she beat the previous course record by two hours and then beat her previous last year's time by seven hours. You might be like 250 miles. That's a long time to run. she sleep at all? She did. She took three dirt naps. ⁓ with an average, I think it was five minutes, five minutes, and then seven minutes. She was laying in the dirt. Absolutely incredible. Yeah, we'll power nap. The definition of a power nap. Yeah. Coco Dona 250 is like one of the toughest races. Like the elevation gain, I believe is like 40,000 feet, 250 miles, like I said, through the desert. Um, last year was a very wet year. This year was like very ideal conditions starts at like 5 a.m. And then just goes until the Saturday, but it's always like the first week of May. So ultra running is back and Rachel is absolutely dominating it. Also, she was doing a podcast. I can't remember what podcast it was, but she was doing a podcast. right after the race while people are still trying to finish. Like, and some people just don't finish the race. She was already like doing questions. Crazy insult, dude. Yeah. She, it really seemed like she like was not hurt at all by the race. ⁓ she did have like a mantra. She was chanting the whole time, I guess like halfway through she started like, you know, she started seeing like the purple dotted elephants and stuff. She was like saying like, man, I'm going out pretty fast. I might burn out here. And she was Then she just started saying like, no, those are just negative thoughts. Why, why can't I win this race? I was able to pull it out. She's also, yeah. She's not the same as David Goggin. She's like five foot, nothing little blonde girl and absolutely dominated this race. I was going to ask you, you're in a couple of marathons. I ran a couple of marathons. Yeah. How impressive is this to you as a quote unquote runner? ⁓ so this is basically If she beat the old record by two hours, mean, that's insane. Yeah. And I mean, it's 56 hours. That's over two days of running. Like my marathon was like four hours, a little bit over four hours. She ran for two days straight, which that's impressive. I feel like when you get to this type of degree of running, like you either know that you're a runner or not. I say, like most people, if you can do a mile, you can do a marathon. just might be very, very slow. But to do 250 miles is insane. know people that do like 50 miles and it kicks, kicks their ass pretty good. Two fifties in the next step up. And then there's even one that's longer than this. think it's the Moab 300. So that's even further, additional 50 miles on that. But this is impressive, especially, like I said, she's just a little girl and just went out there and dominated the race. mean, yeah. I mean, you don't burn as much energy. again, like she got short legs though. Yeah. Even if she doesn't weigh that much. Going through the mountains and stuff. Yeah. And I mean, she seems like, just the interviews I've seen of her, she seems like very like, like, the race, like she's having like recover a little bit, but it doesn't seem like it really affected her as much. She's like kind of born for this. It's like those people that just do these ultra marathons, like it's got a little different degree, like a different pick in their brain of how they work. Yeah, that's right. A 13 to 14 minute average is wild because that's well above I guess well below that average person probably keeping up that pace for 250 miles. When most people can't run that in one mile. that 13 to 14 minutes is also taking in for like those five minute dirt naps. Five minutes is not even running. So she's really running faster than that, but it could have been like 12. It could have been 12. when I read my marathon, it was like a 10 minute 30 second. Like I'm a big runner. Like I'm a. I'm a heavy runner. shouldn't say like I'm a like very into running. I'm just, I'm a heavier guy running. I, yeah, I saw memes talking about, uh, remember you are heavyweight runner and it's like the Hulk running when he's running. I was like, yep, that's me. But shout out Rachel absolutely dominated it and, you know, possibly could win it again next year. Now let's see what would stop her. Matt, let's get into your Brody of Week. My singular Brody. Is the Washington Wizards I didn't have another one, but uh, I guess this week was slow I mean I could have but I didn't want to the rest of the world for sure I didn't want to thrust it. You don't force the bro. You just show you never us Brody Let's Brody podcast. Just be no force anything. It's actually good. let it come to us This is a good warning before we get to like June or July We're be scraping shit off. Yeah, we're gonna It might not be a week where we have Brody's, but we'll see. We'll find something. We might move to singular Brody's. Anyways, Washington Wizards. Um, so a little background of them from this previous season, they acquired Trey Young and Anthony Davis via trades during the season. Um, which is kind of well above their, I guess they're both well older than the other players on their team. Because they have a 21 year old, a law, pull the Bali, a 21 year old cam Whitmore, a 20 year old, Bob Carrington, a 20 year old, Trey Johnson, a 20 year old, well, Riley, a 22 year old, Keeshaan George, and kind of the star of the team. Besides Anthony, David and Trey on a 21 year old star and Alex, Alex, are you a star in SAR? I'm not going to lie. Those sound like two K. generated player names. Yeah. mean, they're the Alex stars. They're on. Shar is their best player right now outside of the two older guys. Full disclosure. I'm not up to speed on Washington wizard basketball other than the Trey young Anthony Davis trades that went down, but that sounds those guys sound like fake names. mean, they're I listen to them because they're super young. They obviously have a lot of talent and obviously have a lot of time to grow, starting 21 and kind of the star of the team. I he was almost averaging a double double in his last season. I'm not going to say that they're filled with talent if they had the first overall pick. I mean, they could have played Trey Young and Anthony Davis when they got them, but they, you know, they sat them, which is kind of what every other team did in the NBA, which is why there's a new, ⁓ Anti-tanking rule that got established. Unfortunately, they did this because they have the first pick in the 2026 NBA draft. They won the lottery. Yep. Which is lucky for, I guess, for the team because Anthony Davis was saying that he wants to win. And there might've been some miscommunication with him and the team. I know he got traded to him, so he didn't have a choice in it, but he might've wanted to leave. But because they got the first overall pick. He might want to stay because they're going to get a AJ DeBonsa, Darren Peterson, a stud who's going to come in and immediately make a difference. So maybe, you know, next year with Trey Young and AD and the first pick and Alex Schar, maybe they can make some noise. love that you talk about Anthony Davis getting traded there, then getting the number one overall pick. I saw this stat going around. Anthony Davis has been involved in four first overall picks now. He was the number one overall pick to the Pelicans back in the day. And then was the Pelicans got Zion Williamson. He was then traded from LA to, or from New Orleans to LA and then from LA to Dallas. Dallas got the number one overall pick and Cooper flag. And then he gets traded from Dallas to Washington. And now Washington has the number one overall pick is probably take it AJ to Bonza. I'd imagine. Maybe, maybe a Darren Peterson. I've seen all the mocks already have AJ to Bonza going to the Washington Wizards. Yeah, that's. Well, they got an update now since the lottery is established. Well, do we want to get into any of the other just lottery stuff? I know that was kind of the next segment we had. This kind of leads in perfect. mean, yeah, we can, we can go through the lottery right now. Let's go ahead and group them together. came out yesterday. So Wizards obviously number one, Jazz. Number two, even if they did it not illegally, ⁓ kind of frowned upon. unethically frowned upon how they did it. Number three, the Grizzlies. Number four, the Bulls. So they jumped up quite a ways. Number five, the Clippers. Number six, the Nets. Number seven, the Kings. Number eight, the Hawks. Number nine, our beloved Dallas Mavericks dropped the spot, which is fine. We have keeper flag. We jumped up then we're on, which is, I was on Twitter this week and the, the Maverick fan accounts, whatever that I follow or that I see on the timeline, they're complaining that we fell. I'm just, I'm like, listen, we jumped up from 14 last year to number one, although that could have been, you know, tinkered with a little bit. Yeah. And then just on the Mavericks, ⁓ I would rather Last year, I'd rather we get Cooper flag. don't care. Like this draft is pretty loaded. I think with some of the talent coming out. Yeah. Um, versus last year it was like, you didn't get Cooper flag, I mean, yeah, there was other good players, like Cooper flag was like the holy grail. Easily the best of last year in this year's draft of mine. So I don't know why Dallas would be complaining. Oh, I did see we have the ninth pick. You know, our previous ninth pick or one of our beloved ninth picks. was Dr. Winsky. It wasn't our pick, but he was a ninth pick in a draft. was Dirk DeWisky. was a ninth pick. Our face of the franchise outside of Mr. Sylvinnia. Anyway, speaking of who drafted Luka or who drafted Dirk, the tenth pick belonged to the Bucks. Number 11 is the Warriors. Number 12, unfortunately, or guess fortunately. There's the warrior or is the thunder. The thunder and a chance to get the first overall pick. Yeah. They, they just chance to jump up. Even though the draft is kind of loaded. I'm glad they didn't jump up because God knows they don't be too. So the thunder of 12, the heat have 13 in the Charlotte Hornets rounded out at number 14 for the lottery. Yeah. And this would be the last year that, or that the NBA was talking about the whole proposal about like. The worst records won't have the best odds anymore. So this is probably the last we'll see if that happens. I don't know. Adam Silver is trying to make a way to stop tanking, but I don't think it's fish. I don't know. Maybe it is. knows? We'll find out next year. There's no like, everybody's going to complain about whatever it gets installed. Yeah. the initial, I did see, we talked about a little bit, AJ DeBons is projected first overall to the Washington Wizards, followed by Darren Peterson to the Jazz, ⁓ Cam Boozer to the Grizzlies, and then Caleb Wilson to the Bulls. ⁓ want talk about someone that got screwed in this was the Pacers, who had like a protected one through four, and they were one of the worst teams this year. They did some tanking at the end and then ended up getting the fifth spot, which then goes to the Also, Matt, did you know Shay Gildas was drafted to the Clippers back in like 2018 or whatever? I did not know that. saw highlights from him on, 2018 when he was on the Clippers. So. Yeah, he was in, he was part of the, uh, the Paul George trade. Yeah. I It just goes to show like a lot of these young guys, you won't really recognize them in the first year, but then like later on in their career, like Shay Gildas now back to back MVP candidate. Yeah. That's why I listed all the, the Wizards young players. mean, a lot of them are 20 and 21 years old. Even if they're, you know, relatively bad right now, could be good later on. But, ⁓ I don't know if you know, Mr. Carlos Boozer, father of the Boozer, Boozer twins, Carlos Boozer, their dad is part of the, ⁓ the Utah Jazz front office now. you think there's, he's going to move up? He's going to take Boozer early? Yeah. yeah. Could Ken Boozer go at number two now? I don't think so. think the state of Utah wants to get- have some say in it. Well, the state of Utah wants AJ De Bonza, because he's at BYU. They don't want to let him leave the state. They're going to try and make a trade possibly with the Wizards for him. Think they're going to move from number two to number one? They might try. I think they're at least going to pick up the phone and see if there's any way the Wizards would give up the number one overall pick. ⁓ Listen, I'm just saying, I'm just speculating right now. If AED Anthony Davis doesn't want to be there, Is there a world they package ad and number one for? They didn't have to be the whole, the whole feature of the jazz. I'm not just talking jazz. I'm talking like just in general. If, if ad doesn't want to be there and he, know, he's obviously very injury prone now. Is there a world they package number one overall and ad for a Janice and like 20. I don't think. How many? say 20 first overall picks? No, because Yannis is insane, but AD and the first for Yannis and whatever. Yeah, I think where the Wizards are at now, the Wizards aren't in a win now mode and that's going to be what Yannis wants. They for Trey Young and AD, I think the Wizards might be in a kind of show. They want their fans. They want to win. Remember the list of names you just read off, right? All those young studs that you mentioned, not the 2K players? Yeah. And you think the Wizards are in win now? Well, they traded for Trey Young and Anthony Davis. Yes, because those were the missing pieces to the puzzle. Even you add Yannis to that, you got a puzzle that's an absolute Extremely good players. I wouldn't be Trading AD and a player that's hurt 20 times a year for a Yannis that's not, and that's just as good. pairing him with Trey Young and their young pieces, Alex Sarr, Wayne Sinner, Giannis at the four, Trey Young at the two. I don't know, I can see the- Trey Young at the one. I don't even know who the would call. I'm saying, could be a decision to be made. They have a lot of decisions they need to make and not make. Okay, you're right. The Wizards, if you're the Wizards in that situation, you do pick up the phone. However, you hang it up immediately and draft AJ De Bonza. Say sorry. I did see the last time the Wizards drafted. First overall, you know who it was? 2010? John Wall. First, it was 1-1. Good pick. And then before that was 2001. you know who they drafted Gilbert Arenas. What? Gilbert Arenas. No. Kwame Brown. Stephen A. Smith's favorite basketball player of all time. That's tough. So that one didn't turn out too well. I don't think anyone else. I think they've had it one other year. It's tough to get that one. that was it. What is that? It is tough to get the number one overall pick. It is tough. Unless you're WNBA team. Pacers have never had the number one overall pick or had a number one overall pick play for their team. That's insane actually. That's a tough look for the Pacers. Yep. And now they're not even in... Actually, I don't think they have a first-round pick now because they lost that. They lost their pick to the Clippers. Yeah, that's tough. Dude, just think how the Clippers won enough games to not let their pick be the Thunder pick. Yeah. We could have done it with the Thunder being a first overall. But okay, that's a, that's probably a good draft talk, right? I think that's, that's good. mean, there's still like 40 days till the draft. there's. That's one thing that sucks about the draft is then you have to now wait until the draft happens. But good thing about the NBA draft, which I wish the NFL was better at this, but the NBA draft is like only two rounds. So. Cause there's only 15 people in the roster. It just doesn't take all day. Actually the first round does take all day, but. There's a lot of. I mean, there's still a lot of undrafted guys. Yeah. And then you got the G league and stuff. yep. Right in the heart. Speaking of basketball, this might be a dumb thing to get into, but people keep acting like LeBron is going to retire after he gets swept by the Thunder. Speaking of which, I said he wasn't going to get swept last podcast. I didn't hear that. Hand up. I think they're playing tonight. They might get swept. If there's any game they're going to win, it'd be this one. Yeah. But people are acting like LeBron's gonna retire after this season. And that's just, that couldn't be farther from the truth. LeBron is not gonna be one of those guys that goes off in the middle of the night and sends a message saying, I'm out or something like that, or puts his cleats in the, or puts his shoes in the middle of the court and just walks off and says, thank you, basketball. LeBron's gonna do a whole retirement tour. He is not retiring. And he also said he wants to play through at least like 24 seasons. believe would be next year. what was it? Isn't this his 24th? I thought this was his 23rd. He was drafted in 2003 and 2016. So yes, it would be his 23rd season. Okay. He needs to play at least two more of them. Yeah, because he has another son coming up. Complete the quarter century mark of playing in the NBA. But it brought me to this question, There's another person going on right now in the NFL that people think is going to retire or possibly play another year and it's Aaron Rodgers. So Aaron Rodgers is 42 years old. was drafted in 2005. LeBron James, 41 years old, was drafted in 2003. My question is, who's going to retire first? You think Aaron Rodgers. So you, do you think Aaron Rodgers is even coming back this season? Or do think Pittsburgh is going to be in shambles trying to find a quarterback? They've drafted two in the last two drafts and Will Howard and Drew Rowler. They're not the greatest prospects, I still might would take a 42 year old Aaron Rodgers over those guys right now. I yeah, but they're not competing. Yeah. least Aaron Rodgers is not going to put them in the AFC North champion conversation. So I'm not sure. Honestly, I don't even know what team he would go to that would think that team better. Who? Rodgers? mean, better in the sense like they're going to be like a playoff contender. Aaron Rodgers or LeBron James? Aaron Rodgers. Okay. LeBron is still like, incredible. He just beat the Rockets pretty much single-handedly in the series, last series. Yeah, I saying like LeBron is still like, I mean like, yeah, he's 40 something, but like dude is still, he's the anomaly so far. Where father time is, you can tell father time's catching LeBron a little bit, but then LeBron's like. I spent a million dollars a year in my body. I'm fine. I'm good to go. Yeah. His production and the NBA is surpasses Aaron Rodgers in the NFL. Also, I saw a video that was breaking down the bronze vertical from like back in 2003 versus now. And he has maybe lost a quarter of an inch. He's still obviously like you said, anomaly. Yeah. So is it going to be a Lakers next season? Maybe they're going to have to pay him. Maybe the Wizards. The Wizards are in win now mode. I didn't say when now I mean, Trading for trade young and 80 old AD. Yeah. You would team up with AD again. So I agree with you. think LeBron will be the one that retires after I think Aaron Rodgers will retire first. think Aaron Rodgers probably has, this is probably his last season. I think he will play one more with the Steelers. Um, and then LeBron, it will probably play through 20, I'm going say 2028. Wait. I guess that would technically be the last season. So 2029 would be the playoffs. What? Two more years? I don't know. He's got two more seasons at least. I mean, one has a significant injury in their history and one has like nothing in their history somehow. LeBron just has never had a serious injury. Okay. That is impressive. Season ending. Everyone always talks about it like his load management. Like, you know, that's a problem sitting out in games and stuff, but. It's low key kind of worked. mean, it's kind of impressive that LeBron has played this long and hasn't had like, know what? I'm not even going to say it because Matt, we, we're not even saying it. We drinks a lot of shit. ⁓ my God. We're not doing it. We're not doing it. We're not doing it. It's just impressive. That's all we're saying. It's going to fracture his spine tonight. If he does, I'm, this podcast won't come out. This podcast will dissolve. This, yeah, this will be one of those that goes into the archives and there's never, it was like, guys, no episode this week. Sorry. Sorry. We were sick under the weather. So yeah, were, we were. Other NBA news, given to somebody who's been in league long time, Steve Kerr just agreed to a tier contract to return as Golden State's head coach. ⁓ he's returning. Yes. I would have thought after Draymond going on the Kevin Hart roast and beefing with Charles Barkley. ⁓ I saw that. He'd be ready to go. There's no way. I mean, Charles, all I had to say was if you're on the panel with me, that means your team is irrelevant. So that's, mean, that's kind of all he needs to say. Also Charles Barkley was like the leader of the sons back in the day. Draymond Green has been writing with Steph Curry, the arguably the greatest shooter of all time. And then the second greatest shooter of all time, Klay Thompson. Maybe not second greatest, but he's up there. five. Top five. And then Kevin Durant. Yeah. Top 10 player of all time. Okay, good for Steve. I know he was kind of on the outs and he was like, I think the time is coming that the dynasty's coming to an end. So it sounds like maybe the dynasty has two more years of, and then it's, then it's done. Maybe. I know they have Jimmy Butler on their team. I'm sure they had the season ending injury that they have picked number 11 on this draft. Maybe there's a package. There's a world where they package those together. Mr. Antutu Kupo. All right, we'll be right back. We're gonna take a quick break and then we'll do some NBA playoffs and just some other sports. Then we'll be ready to close out the show. All right, back to do some NBA playoffs recap, starting off with the New York Knicks taking on the Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks sweep the 76ers 4-0 in a very convincing fashion. Matt? Sure. The Knicks are the fourth team in the NBA history with 30. were multiple 30 point series clinching wins in a single postseason. They joined the 2025 Thunder, the 2008 Celtics and the 1987 Lakers. All three of those teams went on to win the NBA title that year. Could this be the next year? No. You say the streak stops here. Absolutely. Personally, they're playing the team that did it last year. In the Thunder? Yeah. Well. We'll see the Thunder still have to get out of their series. There's backs against the wall for sure. Yeah. Never know. Speaking of which we'll get to that series here in a little bit, but that game's going on tonight. ⁓ yeah, I didn't know too much other than the 76ers, the players Tyrese Maxey was very upset with the Philadelphia fans that the Knicks fans had kind of outnumbered them and their home court. Obviously Philly and New York, it's not not long to mute. And maybe if the, the Sixers were not down three, ⁓ maybe they would have had more fans in the arena. know? Yeah. He did say, I guess we got to win and that won't happen. So, and I also heard that a lot of, the Knicks fans, like the garden is very expensive for games and Philadelphia was actually a lot cheaper. So they just made the drive to Philadelphia. treated that like a home. Yeah. I mean, that's one of the pristine spots of playing the garden. Yeah, so maybe that had something to do with it, but yeah, it was an absolute blowout, that series. I thought it was going to actually be somewhat challenging series. It turned out it was not. So yeah, the Knicks now have a lot of, it's going to be rest versus rust. They don't play until next Monday. It'd be like next Monday at the earliest, I believe. think the second round, the conference semifinals goes at least through the 17th. So they're going to be now rested and waiting for who comes out of the. This is drop the third game of the Cavaliers. So it's it's 2-1 right now Yeah, and then currently that game is going on. It is tied 56-56 in the third. So we don't really know Too much what's going on there? At least in this game actually Cavs just took a one-point lead 57-56. So I'd be the Cavs time I know there's a lot of James James Harden discourse going on Deserved Kind of showed up in the last game, game three. Now it's, you know, now it's series. Actually, it's not a series. It's not a series until the road team wins a game. So neither of those teams, the road team hasn't won. Now by the time this podcast comes out, the Pistons could have won this game. So. Caps have been good on the road in this play out. So. Not in this series. He lost the first two. Yeah, it's tough scene. Nope. ⁓ let's get into, was there anything else on this Knicks and 76ers that you had? Yeah. I mean, I. Let's talk about the Sixers a little bit. Obviously they came in just overcoming a 3-1 deficit. The one the series against the Celtics came into the obviously the series against the Knicks. And they get swept. That means that Embiid is still the only MVP to have never reached the conference finals. I don't know if that's going to happen in the future. Maybe fully healthy. Obviously he would. kind of played with injuries, this playoffs, like he has been his entire career. That's kind of his ML. but the Sixers are the only team in NBA history to come back from down three, one and win the series and then get swept in the following series. ⁓ I, I looked this up earlier today. I went through every team that came back from down one three to win the series. I. looked at how they did their other series. Some of them lost four to one, but none of them got swept. It's time for the Sixers. What about teams that went up three-oh and then got swept, or then won that series in a game seven and then got swept the next series? There's LeBron in the lake looking at that. Way to go, man. That's good. That's good for my analytics department. It's good to know our analytics department's actually working. That's mad stat. That's a mad stat of the day. Shout out the 76ers. You get them next year. Also, they're the flyers just got eliminated from the NHL playoffs. they got swept by the hurricanes. Fili just got swept in the second round of everything, which I'm sure people can see my Dallas Cowboys shirt that I'm wearing. You know, I'm so sad for Fili. Okay. Yeah, that is what, sorry. didn't know. That's where you're going. That's okay. That's just a crazy stray. Speaking of crazy strays, there was a elbow that was thrown in a game. Speaking of something that wasn't a stray. Yeah. I think about something, Matt, you go ahead. You go ahead. You, you lead it Listen, I've already saw the play. This is going to come out and what Wednesday or whatever the game happened on Sunday night. Wimminyama corrals a rebound. He's got Nas read and Rudy Gobert around him completely has the ball yet. He reaches behind him and throws an elbow like he's prime John Jones. Like Nasri just... shit about his mother? Completely ebbs the shit out of Dajreed. Decapitates him. Wimby gets ejected. The Wolves end up winning that game. Shout out Anthony Edwards. He finally... Was, I guess, fully healthy in this game. Jot 30+. Wolves win at the time of the series 2-2. But... Dude, I have a friend that I work with. Big Spurs fan. He was telling me that... That was accidental. Accidental. you know, he was just trying to get the rebound, you know? He didn't know he was right behind him. Is your friend a Spurs fan? Like I just said, yes. Okay. He's a Spurs fan. Apparently a very big Spurs fan. I kind of, I kind of side with him little bit. I don't say it was accidental. Victor Wiminyama, very big guy, 7'4". He's got to reach down a little bit. to hit Najree as well. was a little bit of a wind up in the way that he went, I feel like it was just like he was battling for the ball and just started swinging. It's like a, you see it in the like rec basketball all the time when someone gets really ready for swinging. That's not even how, I mean, I only saw it in slow motion. Yeah. in live, at live broadcast. I watched it at game speed. did not look like, like when you watch it, anything in slow motion, it looks a little bit more like aggressive, a little bit whatever. In live speed, didn't really look that great. Like yes, did he, did his elbow connect with the dude's neck? Yes. Was it at like, could Victor Womiyama swung faster? He could have. And it was, it wasn't as like the slow motion makes it look a lot worse. ⁓ Obviously yes, it is a flagrant too. It was a windup. There was a follow through. There was intense. So he does get ejected, but I just don't think it was like. I've seen some, I've seen some crazy like basketball, like people throw in some haymakers. It wasn't, I wouldn't put it up there as like a crazy haymaker, but of course it's Victor Imaniyama. It's a big name, you know, big ejection and a big, big time moment in the game. Um, big series turn possibly. So it just, gets a little more escalated than it, than it probably should have been. But I, once again, yes. Can you do that? No. But was it as bad as people are making out to be? I don't think so. it was. I know what you mean. The people around him, want to, you know, kind of get Yeah, there's two people trying to battle and he, you know, he's a big guy. I understand. He's a big guy. He literally had the ball in his possession and then he went with the elbow. That's what I've taken away from it. I I'm not like a, I don't, I'm not a Spurs hater. I'm not a wimpy hater. I'm not a, we're not affiliated with the Spurs at all. biased. I'm unbiased. had no money on the game. Okay. That's actually, no money on the game. That's a big, that's a big, gotta let people know that. Nobody on the game, but dude, he like from the video that I saw, like he totally had the ball in his possession, man. And there's, they're not even like fighting for it. Like really or not. weren't fighting for it. They weren't fighting for it. Watch, watch it back. They're not trying. They're not grabbing at the ball or grabbing at him. He just like swung his arm back. No, he had the ball and just was like that. No, don't for anyone listening on the audio. You probably can't see what I'm doing, but I'm swinging my arms. Even the coach came out and said after the game, he was like, I'm proud that. When be essentially stood up for himself. Yeah. mean, mean, what are they doing? Skinny guy is seven 19. So what do you mean standing up for him? Like, what do mean? He's standing up for himself. He's what a guy in the esophagus. Yeah. How is that? You know, what are they fouling every time? The Spurs do need to get like a... If anybody's fouling, it's Wemby, goaltending. Yeah, the Spurs do need to get like ⁓ like hockey had goons back in the day that would go and pick the fights for the star players. That's what the Spurs need to get. He's not like getting intentionally fouled or anything like that. I don't know why the coach would, you know, he's going to defend himself from what? He's dominating the, he's dominating the wolves. Last game 35 and 19 rebounds five blocks. But we talked about that that was a big ejection. was the like we said the Timberwolves tied up the series they play I guess this podcast comes out on Wednesday. They play the day before they play Tuesday night. And now like I said that series is tied. So I mean that was a series that I thought the Spurs were going to handle pretty easily with all the injuries that the wolves had been facing. And now it looks like that one might end up going the distance. I'm hand up that might have been wrong and I don't know if the Spurs are ended up getting out of that series now. I still think that they're the better team and they should, but like the Wolves are actually showing a lot of fight in this series. Yeah, I think fully healthy. Like the team's currently in the playoffs, fully healthy. It's okay. See it's the Spurs. It's the Wolves. It's the Knicks. So obviously there's, there's no further punishment on Wimby came out today. The league isn't going to, you know, suspend him or I guess maybe I guess they're not going to find them as well since they there's no further repercussions. So I guess I'm in the minority that really wasn't that bad. Well, I think it's cause he got, it happened in the second quarter. I heard, uh, heard them talking about it on, who was it? Uh, Brian Windhorst was talking about it. He's like, if this would have happened in the fourth quarter, then you probably would have been disciplinary action. Like, but it happened in the second kind of was already like. It was early in the second two, so it's almost like he did set a full game, like pretty much three quarters. ⁓ and I mean, it is a big playoff series. So it's like, you sit them for, you know, that could just change the whole course of the series. Yeah. And like I said, in real speed, it did not look as aggressive, obviously in slow motion, it looked pretty aggressive. So I guess I might have to look at it in real time. Go back and watch it in real time. Let's not quote Brian Winnherst again. No, I just, saw him talk about it. He's someone that covers- Let's not listen to anything he says. It was just, it was on the TV, man. I was getting ready for the podcast. saw that on- Let's not. I'm the- What type of podcast person would I be if I didn't bring that to the people of BrodyPod? We're anti- I'm anti-Primerunners. I didn't know you were against, I know I've brought him up before and you've, you didn't like it, but we'll have him on the pod and we'll squash the beef. That's an idea, dude. I'll wrestle him, dude. And then the last series here, thunder and Lakers, they're playing tonight, Monday, nine 30. First of all, that's a late time to start a game. ⁓ game four, we talked about a little bit Lakers are, they might get swept. I'm hand up, but that probably means they won't get swept. No, this is, it's a big deal. Put the hand up. ⁓ when you, when you have a take, when you have, you know, kind of a platform like we do. Put the hand up admitting when you're wrong. That's really a big deal. Some people will still stick by their stuff. You know, it's good to just take a step back. No, I'm just saying it's good to take a step back and review and encompass everything. What are you getting at? just saying we're not just going to stick by our... I'm not getting at anything. I'm just saying... What is this bit you're doing? There's no bit. There's no bit. I'm just saying it's good to... We can see... Both sides of the coin here. Okay. What's the punchline, Matt? are you using? Okay. I was actually thought you were doing like a bit here. thought this was like an SGA thing you were doing. Oh no, I'll get the SGA here in a little bit. Oh, okay. Yeah. Like I said, LeBron's on the cusp of getting swept by the Thunder. Actually, once again, I think they got swept last year against the Thunder. So a tough one there, but you know, now that I said they'll get swept, they probably won't get swept tonight. Now, Matt, go ahead on SGA. Oh. So I did say, um, I have no dog in the game and the spurs, the wolves, I do kind of have a dog here. I don't like SCA. I don't like him. don't like the way he plays. Could be a good guy in real life. I don't know. haven't met him, but a lot of people have him as the certified bonafide MVP this season. He's going to go back to back most valuable player. But is he? Cause this series against the Lakers certainly doesn't show his. valuableness is valuability. Yeah. has had that play much this series. Oh, he has not. You want to know why that is? That's because he's a plus 14 on the court this series. And when he's off there, plus 22. So they're better with SJ off the court. OKC Thunder on and off net ratings this postseason as of May 8th, three days ago as we're recording this. AJ Mitchell plus 28. Alex, Marissa plus 24.2 Jalen Williams plus 18.6. And then there's a space. The 10th player is Jared McCain. Which I forgot Jared McCain was on the thunder until game two, when he just went like. the first two games of this series went absolutely insane. think he was like eight for nine or eight for 10 from three or something like that. So Jared McCain is a minus 20.1. Isaiah heard in the sun is a minus 21.7 Shea is a minus 29.2 is again, this doesn't sound real. You'll have to send me at stats. include on the podcast. This is for the entire playoff, the entire postseason. This season is a, or the series is a plus 14, the entire playoffs is a minus 29, which doesn't make any sense because they swept the suns. I'll just focus on this. Shay versus AJ Mitchell, was the second round pick last year, I believe. Their, uh, their stats of the series. As Shay 21 even points per game, AJ 20.7. Rebounds 2.7 for Shay, 3.0 for AJ. Assist 5.7 for Shay, assist 6.7 for AJ Mitchell. Pre-throws attempted. Obviously Shay's at 8.3. AJ's at 4.3. True shooting. is just under 65 or 56. He's at 55.9. AJ is at 61.1 turnovers. She's at four. The game. ⁓ is at one. So you just plug someone into the Thunder system. They'll be MVP candidate. I'm just saying, obviously SGA is better than AJ Mitchell. But AJ Mitchell, this series has been outperforming the quote unquote MVP favorite. Yeah. And I know each it's not a ⁓ postseason MVP is in a postseason stats, a regular season stat, the regular season as she has been, you phenomenal top five player in the league on the planet, yada yada. But when your team is obviously objectively better when you're off the court, granted, I know it's relative. When he's off the court, they're probably up a ton and you know, there's Backups come in and the other teams backups come in and stuff, but AJ's been playing real minutes this series like legit backup backup, but he's been coming, you off the bench and stuff, but I'll cap this off for the series. Is he the the least valuable superstar in the league? kind of looks like it. No, because I think Shay gets them the number one overall seed in the playoffs and makes this path a lot easier. Like they're not having to play the Spurs or Timberwolves in the second round. They're having to play the Lucalis Lakers, the LeBron, Bronnie, and Austin Reeves Lakers. They just won a series. Yeah. They just won a playoff series. They're not awful. Yeah, but they almost lost a playoff series to the Rockets after going up 3-0. The Lakers have been kind of banged up in this playoffs. I will cap this off with ⁓ A request to the thunder. Let the Lakers win a game, man. Come on, gentlemen sweep. You want to win this at home? You don't want to win it tonight. Come on. Don't let us be wrong on the podcast. A lot of people are ready to just get on me saying LeBron's not going to get swept. The LeBron haters are already got their, their takes loaded. they'd have to, to, ⁓ to call people up off the G league. Yeah. Jordan, I can already hear now Jordan wouldn't have gotten swept. Jordan wasn't playing at 41. Jordan was out of league. Lost a lot until they got Scottie Pippen. ⁓ Moving on from NBA, I have a little fun thing from the NHL and it's not really playoffs related of like the teams that are currently going. This is just about my beloved Dallas Stars. So we all know the Dallas Stars lost in the first round to the Minnesota Wild, but the GM came out, Jim Nils, ⁓ and went through the laundry list of injuries that the Stars were facing. ⁓ and this just shows you how tough these hockey players are. I think a lot of people, check the injury report. says like, ⁓ so and so upper body injury, lower body injury. You don't really know what they're going through. So I mean, just some of the, the, this, the big players for the stars. mean, there's a whole, do I, do I need to go through everything here that happened? I can maybe I'll just go through the big ones. So starting off with Jamie Ben. who was like the leader of the stars, had a punctured lung and training camp and concussion in December. ⁓ Matt Dushan concussion in the regular season missed 25 games. Thomas Harley broken foot in November missed 12 games. Miro Hyskinen suffered an oblique tear just before the playoffs. It was not fully healthy. He also sprained his ankle in the playoffs. An oblique tear. It's kind of important when you're throwing a stick around. ⁓ Rope Hintz was sick at the Olympics and then he suffered a double hamstring tear in the first game back and then re-injured when he was getting close to return. Double hamstring tear. That might be important whenever you're playing a little bit of hockey and you're skating around. It'd be important when you're standing up straight. Yeah. ⁓ Neil's leg, Neil's lung fist, fractured leg and ankle in the regular season. And then a facial laceration from a skate and concussion during the playoffs. Miko Reikinen, torn MCL in the Olympics and returned, but was never fully up to speed in the playoffs. with a torn MCL. Tyler Segan, torn ACL in December, did not return and he'll probably be back by training camp next season. Big loss as well. Yeah. So it just is crazy that like four to five players. that are like superstars for the stars. And this is stuff that all these hockey teams are going through, right? It doesn't just stop at the stars. Like these guys just get injured, but hockey players, they kind of will just keep skating and keep playing until someone tells them not to. They're very good at hiding their injuries. And it's just kind of different, like when you look at the NBA and like guys are missing because of a pinky or something or something like there's not at the speed. ⁓ These hockey guys, they're different breed when it comes to it. Shout out hockey players being tough. Double hamstring tear Matt. That's insane. I was going to say the broken foot coming back after 12 days. Yeah. The broken foot. That's insane. Yeah. Just tighten the skate up a little tighter. It'd be fine. You'd be good to go. Maybe don't use the feet that much. it's just. Oh, also, and, Lee and Bichelle had a fractured leg during the season. These guys just will just keep playing. And it's like for way less money than any other professional sports gets paid. the game, dude. Love the game. With that, Matt, we can move through a little bit of the NFL off season that's going on. I'm going to start off with everyone. Go ahead and stop. Stop what you're doing right now. The NFL has released their schedules kind of for the year. ⁓ The NFL, the way they've now stretched out the draft and now they've stretched out schedule releases. It's just ridiculous. We've started getting some of the marquee games. saw the giants and Cowboys open up, ⁓ the first Sunday and then the Thanksgiving game between the Cowboys and Eagles has been announced. And there's just like all these like games that are getting announced here and there just releases schedules. We don't care for all this hoopla. I like the little teasers of the marquee games. Yeah. And then every team's going to do like a video breaking down their schedule. It's going to be some creative department like. Just give me the schedule, man. I don't need the whole week. Gives people jobs, dude. mean, the marquee department is working hard. They released the Thanksgiving Cowboys game against the Eagles. I don't know why they would because obviously the Cowboys are going to play on next evening. Yeah. And then it's, I think it's Seahawks Bears is the first game of the season. So they released all like the first game, the last game of the season, the holiday games. And then like, I think this Friday they announced the whole schedule. But it's just like, come on, I think I saw the Niners play the Rams, I believe, in Australia. See, just released the schedule. I don't even know all that. What is the time difference? How is that going to work? I mean, they're like... Ooh, that's going to be interesting for like fantasy draft or for fantasy football when you got to say Atlanta. the other side of the world. Yeah, is that going to be a morning game or... Are they going to be playing at 3 a.m. or are they going to... be playing like at 10 PM Australia time and like. I don't know how far is Australia behind? Okay. Well, stop what you're doing on the podcast. What is Australia's time right now? How far are they behind? Actually, I was through time in Sydney, Australia, because Australia might have a couple. Okay. So Australia's already in, so we're recording this Monday. They're already in Tuesday. They're a full 12 out, at least 12 hours ahead of us. Yeah. So I'm saying like. So it's like the reverse of Britain. Maybe they're not going to be playing on Sunday then maybe there. So it'll be a Monday. That'd be a Saturday game for us. ⁓ this is going to be. Are they just played once in Australia? Hopefully they're playing late Friday and it'd be early Saturday for us or late Saturday for them early Sunday for us. Like I think that would make sense. This is like the playing Saturday and then we would watch. You know the thing they say about the British Empire, the sun never sets on the British Empire, the sun never sets on the NFL season. That's the Roman Empire. No, no, they said about Britain. Because Britain had so many... No, that's the Roman Maybe they said about them both because they were both very big empires. So the big empires, British Empire, Roman Empire, NFL Empire. ⁓ Hold on, I'm looking it up right now. never sets on the British Empire. I've never heard that. In 1920, the Empire covered 24 % of the Earth's landmass. I've only heard the Roman Empire. Did they used to say it on the Romans too? Unless I'm just saying nothing. Sun never sets on the Roman Empire? I know this is why people tune into the podcast. Okay, ⁓ a variation was also used for the Roman Empire. I don't think it was exactly. The translation's a little different. Okay, yeah, but include the NFL and the empires. Here we go, we're learning a lot. Just some other NFL news Matt. What'd you have here? What'd you just find it out? No, I mean you double-checked me. That's what I heard. No, I've always heard that Sun never sets the Roman Empire because they... Empire... I've never heard anyone that says foreign to podcast. Let us know what your favorite Empire is in the comments. Apparently it says it's not commonly used. How would I know that then? I don't know history, but I know that saying. Well now it's gonna be for the NFL. Anyways, the Sun never sets on Chris Boswell apparently. Because he just got a new deal with the Steelers. A four year, $28 million extension. He's getting $7 million annually. Which ties him with your beloved Brandon Aubrey. Is there now the both highest paid kickers in league history? Boswell ranks 46 all time and points scored. So, pretty deserving, I would say, but kind of a lot. He's fairly old. I will say Chris Boswell is worth the money. I've drafted him the last couple, actually I've drafted him a lot of my fantasy teams. And normally I have a role in fantasy football. I don't draft kickers that play in outdoor stadiums. Chris Boswell is the exception. I will draft him if he's available. Normally it's like Aubrey goes first and then like Cam Little or someone else. ⁓ But I normally look for like the dome, the dome guys, the guys that play in the stadium, like indoor. ⁓ Yeah. Not Chris Boswell. I'll take him any day of the week. He's a great kicker, plays great in the wind, great in the elements. I think he's well worth the money. He's also beloved in Pittsburgh. I think he's been in Pittsburgh his whole career. We looked that up, the analytics department looked that up, You're correct. Yep. And where'd he go to college, Matt? None other than Rice University. Rice University. The analytics department is working tough. overtime this Around the clock. Speaking of another legend of the game, NFL legend, Adrian Peterson. will be- legend. What? Saints legend. I don't think he's Saints legend. Minnesota Vikings legend. He will be entered into the Minnesota Vikings ring of honor this fall. And the induction into the ring of honor comes one year before Adrian Peterson is eligible for the pro football hall of fame. Adrian Peterson will be hall of famer. I he's getting in. I think he's getting in. His 2012 season alone will probably get him in. He's gonna have a tough time then. Yeah, I think he... I'm just Wait, hold on. think I had... He's absolutely getting in. I think I had some Adrian Peterson. MVP coming off of torn ACL over 2,000 rushing yards plus MVP in 2012. Or was he all-time? He was drafted by the Vikings in 2007 out of Oklahoma. Let me guess. Let me guess. All-time what? Rushing yards? Yeah, all-time rushing yards. I got it here. Rushing yards and touchdowns. It'd be 12. Is speaking to me. he top 10? Yeah, he's in the top 10. Okay. He's seven. He's five. Fifth all time in rushing yards and touchdowns. 14,918 career rushing yards and 120 touchdowns. Mr. Peterson, I am sorry. Yeah. Matt, can you also name all the teams that he played for other than the Vikings? Commanders. I'll give you one. Commanders. Commanders, Saints, you already got two. Lions. Seahawks. Lions. Seahawks? You're missing two. ⁓ you already got the Vikings. I'm at five. Yes. How many more? There's two more. One of these I kind of figured. Remember the other one I didn't, no clue. One's NFC, one's AFC. Did I say Seahawks? You did say Seahawks. Which that was a crazy pull. I didn't know if I had that one. Seahawks. He did like a bunch of one-year contracts at the end of his year. No, I don't know why he did that. mean, I could go through all the teams. That might take a while. Yeah, yeah. All right. So the last two you're missing was Arizona, which that's the one I kind of remember. then the Tennessee Titans did not know he was Tennessee Titans. I did not know he played for the Titans. But yeah, he will be eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2027. So shout out Adrian Peterson. Finally getting some recognition. Where'd he go to college, Matt? He's at Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma Sooners. Yes, sir. Was that all we had for the NFL? Yeah, think so. Yeah. Moving on some other stuff, college football. Don't fear everyone. We are officially past the halfway point of the college football season. So as of today on Monday, the 2025 season ended 112 days ago, which is crazy believe that that happened. And we're already 112 days past the national championship. And the 2026 season starts at 110 days. So we're almost there, kind of. We're past the halfway point. So we're not really almost there. Yeah, it's been, I mean, it's been so long. just forget that. ⁓ she was signed Lane Kiffin as her head coach and signed a lot of other players as well. mean, it's been a while since I've thought about college football in general. It's been so, so focused on NFL and the draft and stuff like that. mean, this, this upcoming season should be incredible for college. Yeah. Our last thing or two other things, Sean Strickland takes down Kamaev in the middle weight. main event for the UFC, UFC 328. Watched his fight, went to a decision. I really thought Shawn Strickland wasn't going to win the title. He's able to take him down, get the decision. I imagine there's probably going to be a rematch here because it seemed like a very balanced fight. I love that these fights are on Paramount too because it just makes it easy to watch him now. And I know UFC is now getting for the White House card, which I believe is later this summer. Isn't John Jones? I don't think John Jones is in the White House card. We'll to do a breakdown when it gets close. But you know what is close Matt? That we almost missed? The PGA Championship is this week. ⁓ Starting on Thursday, it's going to be in Newton Square, Pennsylvania at... ⁓ man. I don't know this course name very well, so stay with me. ⁓ ⁓ on a mink golf club starting May 14th. And the biggest storyline coming from this is, Jordan Spieth going to complete the career grand slam? He's won the masters. He's won the US open. He's won the open championship, but he's never won a PGA championship. He did have a good showing a couple of tournaments ago, could possibly get it done. thought he placed pretty well at the open. And then the next weekend is going to be the Byron, which I believe I'm going to the Byron. Cause I heard Scotty Scheffler and Brooks Koepka are going to be there. I feel like the PGA championship is just the least talked about major. I had you stuck up on me. Like I had no idea. Like when the mass, I know exactly when the master is, I know, you you guys open all this just happened. I don't PGA championship yet. Okay. You know, it's just, it feels like every other kind of turning. All the majors kind of go bang, bang, bangs. But then speaking of which, the US Open, we'll go and put that on our calendar, June 18th through the 21st, and then the open is July 16th through the 19th. So might be a heavy golf episode coming. But yes, I believe Scottie Schaeffler is the favorite shocker. So we'll see, it's major season. Let's get into our final segment here. You have the Keat 3 Cup 5 for me this time? Yeah. We'll get into our final segment, or we're back. for our final segment, then we're closing out the show, but our final segment, fan favorite, keep three, cut five. And Matt has one for me this time. I think that I've done the last two for you, Matt. You've got one for me this time. do. It kind of ties into the last one you gave me, which was, who do I want to build around in the NBA? Right. This is NFL edition. What quarterback do you want to build your team around? And I'll, I'll preface this with They're all at least 24 or younger. Okay. So at most the 24 or the younger. First name, Mr. Tennessee Titan, Cam Ward. Okay. 24 or younger. He's got Cardinal Tate. Right. But I mean like we're just, we're building around him. You know, I like, I like Cam Ward. I'm really scared what's going to be on this list. I'll say there's, there's nothing, there's no like sort of, there's no easy cut. Here, maybe one. I'm going to... I just don't like... A lot of people like how nonchalant he is. I kind of don't. So I think I'm going to cut him for that reason. Okay. Number two, give me Jackson Dart. Jackson Dart. Also, like, very injury prone. But he plays a little bit of swagger, you know? I kind of like that. He's a white boy with swag. Yeah. I think I'm going to go... Man. If I didn't know Jackson Dart was coming, I might have kept... Cam award, but we're in this situation now. We got to do what we got to do. The way I want to build around Jackson Dart, older quarterback. I'm going to cut him as well. I'll give you a Mr. Iceman himself, Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams, keeping him. feel like- Keeping Cam. No, keeping Caleb. Keeping Caleb, not Cam. Yeah, right, right. Before I'll give you CJ Shroud. CJ Shroud, rookie year, might've said keep, but- He's only 24. He's already got playoff experience. Although didn't go that great, but. I saw the pictures from the off season. been in the weight room. Has leaned up. I'm gonna cut CJ Stroud though. After the way the playoffs ended, that's still sitting in my mind. I respect that. Speaking of the playoffs, me Drake May. Drake May. I'll keep Drake May. Give you Drake May. I like Drake May. So I got one left. can keep. You have one left. How about Mr. Nice Man Fernando Mendoza? Fernando Mendoza, feel like he had a really good year at Indiana. I haven't seen him in the NFL. This is the only rookie. Yeah, don't give me any hints, but... Well, I going to say... I haven't been able to see like... He's coming into a good, decent team. Although I didn't see that last podcast, but he's got back powers, you know? Yeah. He's got Ash and Gentie. I think... friend, it was going to be a good quarterback, but I haven't seen him at an NFL speed yet. Like the windows get tighter. The guys are faster. The defensive ends are bigger that are coming after you. I'm going to cut them for now, but I see if we, if we had this conversation, actually he'd probably not 24 next year. Wasn't he like a four year starter, five year starter? He's a little quarterback. He might be right on the cusp. We might not be able to have this conversation. be 22 now. Or is he 23? Oh, for now. How do we not know that? He is 22. He is 22. So we could have this conversation next year. I'm going to cut him right now. Okay. Are we on six or seven? That was six. Okay. So two more. Two more. can keep one of them. Keep one of them. Mr. Saint himself. Tyler Shuck. He looked really good this year. Yes, you did, didn't he? I... You know what? Jordan Jordan Tyson. Chris Olavi. Jawaun Johnson. Oscar Delta. I'm going to keep Tyler Schock. I'm really scared what it's going to be. I think he's a good quarterback to build around. really. I'm going to clip that sailor for later. Your last option that you are for sure cutting is none other than Carson Beck. Okay. I'm happy with my list then. Although Carson Beck, you know, possibility, but Tyler Schock established Caleb Williams, Tyler Schock. And what was the other one I kept? Drake May. Drake May. I like those. I think I handled that one ex-brillantly. Who would you from that list choose? I would have done the same. The same. The only one maybe like Mendoza, but obviously like you said, not established, haven't seen him in the NFL at the speed the NFL plays at. Yeah. The only change I could possibly see myself making is going Cam Ward instead of Tyler Schott. Obviously I'm a Saints fan, I'm biased, but I do, K-Mord is very good. The team around him this past season, awful. That was a good keep three, cut five. You normally give me like layups. I know, I couple of them. I kind of had to go around some land mines there. You did, a little bit. All cool. All right, good. If anyone else has any keep three, cut five split, please feel free to leave them in the comments, but we also. pretty good at coming up with them.
