- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to another Radio Archive Hour here on the Phil
- 0:02Speaker 1: Henry Radio Hall of Fame show. And this is Doug Danger,
- 0:05Speaker 1: the gay man and the gay journalist. This is a
- 0:07Speaker 1: guy who continually wants people to know that he is gay.
- 0:12Speaker 1: And he says that's because it's obviously brought out the
- 0:16Speaker 1: best in him. He is a better golfer because he's gay.
- 0:19Speaker 1: He learned how to change oil on a car in
- 0:21Speaker 1: five minutes because he's gay. And basically he beats the
- 0:24Speaker 1: listener to the head with this and assumes his superiority.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And in this particular hour, he's talking about Meg Ryan,
- 0:32Speaker 1: Dennis Quaid, and Russell Crowe, and how he thinks Meg
- 0:36Speaker 1: Ryan's a certain quality of person.
- 0:38Speaker 2: And here's Doug.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Okay, so, Doug, there was an interview in Entertainment Weekly,
- 0:44Speaker 3: I believe, concerning Meg Ryan.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Yeah, there was, Phil.
- 0:47Speaker 2: And what exactly did it entail?
- 0:50Speaker 4: Well, it was a fascinating interview, Phil, with Meg Ryan,
- 0:53Speaker 4: where she says that she now knows what it feels
- 0:56Speaker 4: like to be the Scarlet Woman. She does describe a
- 1:00Speaker 4: moment when the media got wind of her steamy affair
- 1:02Speaker 4: with Russell Crowe. And I guess the whole effect is
- 1:06Speaker 4: to make her feel a little bit better about her
- 1:08Speaker 4: life and make everybody else feel pretty good about her.
- 1:11Speaker 4: But the reason why she gives an interview like this
- 1:13Speaker 4: is there's a new film coming out called Proof of Life.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Is that the one with Russell Crowe?
- 1:18Speaker 4: That's the movie she appears in with Russell Crowe, exactly.
- 1:21Speaker 4: And so, you know, the reason why she's giving out interviews, Phil,
- 1:25Speaker 4: is just to promote a movie.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Now, your column in the Orange County Courier was rather biting.
- 1:29Speaker 3: You said, well, I'll let you say it, but you're
- 1:32Speaker 3: not a big fan of hers?
- 1:33Speaker 4: Well, I'm a gay man and a gay journalist, Phil.
- 1:35Speaker 4: I've got no problem admitting that to anybody. I came
- 1:38Speaker 4: out three whole years ago, so I've been out of
- 1:41Speaker 4: the closet. As a gay man, as a gay journalist,
- 1:43Speaker 4: I've had to live on the edge a little bit, and,
- 1:46Speaker 4: you know, gay people have to. I have had to
- 1:48Speaker 4: learn to take risks. I admire the work of the writer, Phil,
- 1:51Speaker 4: in question in the Entertainment Weekly piece, but he's obviously straight.
- 1:56Speaker 4: or else he would have the courage to say what
- 1:59Speaker 4: everyone else wants to say but doesn't have the courage
- 2:01Speaker 4: to say. I think as a gay man, as a
- 2:02Speaker 4: gay journalist, I do have the courage to say certain things.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Let me be honest with you for a moment. Sure.
- 2:09Speaker 4: I love being gay. I love it because I think
- 2:14Speaker 4: that as a gay man, and I don't know how
- 2:17Speaker 4: you're going to read this. I hope you don't take
- 2:18Speaker 4: this the wrong way, but as a gay man, as
- 2:19Speaker 4: a gay journalist, I do feel I'm better than other people.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I think gay people in general are better.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Boy, you're getting into some explosive territory. Let's just stick with.
- 2:31Speaker 2: The Meg Ryan comments.
- 2:33Speaker 4: I want to get back to Meg Ryan, but I
- 2:34Speaker 4: want to be clear. I don't shy away from being gay,
- 2:39Speaker 4: and I'm very proud of that. There are days, I
- 2:41Speaker 4: must admit, when I get out of bed and I think,
- 2:44Speaker 4: you know what, I think I'm just a little cut
- 2:46Speaker 4: above everybody else.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Well, that's good.
- 2:49Speaker 3: It's good to be proud of yourself. I don't know
- 2:50Speaker 3: whether your orientation necessarily makes you.
- 2:57Speaker 4: You're coming off with a pat response like that.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Well, I don't want to have a pat response.
- 3:01Speaker 3: If you feel you're superior to other people based upon
- 3:04Speaker 3: being gay, how.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Do I relate to that? I'm not gay.
- 3:09Speaker 4: That's right. You can't relate to that. So let me
- 3:11Speaker 4: just say what I'm saying and reserve your judgment for
- 3:15Speaker 4: a time when you can feel it. All right.
- 3:17Speaker 2: That's fair enough.
- 3:19Speaker 4: So as I was saying, I am a gay man.
- 3:21Speaker 4: I'm a gay journalist. I do feel superior because I'm gay.
- 3:24Speaker 4: And I do have the courage to speak the truth,
- 3:26Speaker 4: which is what I did in my column today.
- 3:28Speaker 2: All right, tell everybody what you basically said about Meg Ryan.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I said that Meg Ryan's a slut. I mean, she'd
- 3:34Speaker 4: spread for a bush if she thought a snake was
- 3:36Speaker 4: in it. And, you know, for her, leaving Dennis Quaid
- 3:39Speaker 4: for Russell Crowe is.
- 3:41Speaker 3: You know, some of that's pretty strong language, man. I mean,
- 3:44Speaker 3: you didn't write that in the column.
- 3:45Speaker 4: No, I did, but I'm saying that right now.
- 3:47Speaker 3: You thought she'd spread for a bush if she thought
- 3:49Speaker 3: a snake was in it.
- 3:50Speaker 4: I'm saying that now.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Okay, so you're not a big fan of hers?
- 3:54Speaker 4: I'm not a big fan of Meg Ryan because I
- 3:57Speaker 4: think leaving a guy like Dennis Quaid for Russell Crowe
- 3:59Speaker 4: is like checking out of the Ritz and checking into
- 4:01Speaker 4: a Super 8. Crowe can't carry Quaid's jockstrap either as
- 4:04Speaker 4: an actor or as a man, in my opinion. Now,
- 4:06Speaker 4: that's just my opinion, but I do have the courage
- 4:08Speaker 4: to say that. And I would ask you, Phil, how
- 4:11Speaker 4: many people in the mainstream media have had the courage
- 4:14Speaker 4: to say that Meg Ryan is a bow-legged slut?
- 4:18Speaker 2: I mean, okay, I don't think anybody would quite put
- 4:21Speaker 2: it that way, okay?
- 4:22Speaker 4: But that's what I think.
- 4:23Speaker 2: You think she's just a loose slut sleeping around?
- 4:26Speaker 4: I think she had a strong marriage there. I think
- 4:28Speaker 4: that she's got a son, and I don't think she's
- 4:31Speaker 4: yet divorced from Mr. Quaid. So I think a lot
- 4:34Speaker 4: of that goes to the heart of this. And again,
- 4:37Speaker 4: I say this as a gay man, as a gay journalist.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Well, I think a lot of this stuff is extreme.
- 4:42Speaker 4: You think it's extreme because you're not gay. You think
- 4:45Speaker 4: it's extreme because you don't have the courage to say this.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I don't think that way at all.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I don't think you think that way because you don't
- 4:50Speaker 4: have the courage to say it. You're straight. I'm gay.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I can say that she's a jawless. You know, she's
- 4:55Speaker 4: a sore-jawed slut who has obviously gone out on her husband.
- 5:00Speaker 2: All right, hold on for a minute. Can we maybe
- 5:03Speaker 2: keep the, you know.
- 5:04Speaker 4: It's a little strong for you?
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, man. It sounds a little cold. It
- 5:08Speaker 2: sounds a little strong. It sounds a little harsh.
- 5:11Speaker 4: You know. I'm a gay man.
- 5:13Speaker 2: All right, so you're honest.
- 5:14Speaker 4: No, I'm a gay man and a gay journalist, and
- 5:16Speaker 4: my honesty comes with the territory.
- 5:19Speaker 2: All right, 1-800-449-8686.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Doug Danger reacting to an article, an interview with Meg Ryan,
- 5:26Speaker 3: recently conducted, in which she says, among other things, in
- 5:30Speaker 3: the interview, she says that she now knows what it's
- 5:32Speaker 3: like to feel like the Scarlet Woman. As you know,
- 5:34Speaker 3: Meg Ryan was married to Dennis Quaid. She's now with
- 5:39Speaker 3: Russell Crowe.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah, she's still married to Dennis Quaid, Phil.
- 5:43Speaker 3: All right, so she went out with Russell Crowe, and
- 5:47Speaker 3: that makes her, in your opinion, you know.
- 5:51Speaker 4: A slut.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I just think it's a real strong word.
- 5:54Speaker 4: I understand, Phil, that it's a strong word, but I've
- 5:56Speaker 4: had to... I'm not here to bash Russell Crowe. He
- 6:01Speaker 4: wants to get anchored with a woman who's got a
- 6:02Speaker 4: kid after being one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood.
- 6:06Speaker 4: It's his funeral, all right? I'm here to simply do
- 6:09Speaker 4: what the straight press can't do, and that is speak
- 6:11Speaker 4: the truth about Meg Ryan as a gay man, as
- 6:13Speaker 4: a gay journalist. I'm more closely associated with the truth
- 6:16Speaker 4: because once you've come out of the closet, and my friend,
- 6:19Speaker 4: I've been out of the closet for almost three years,
- 6:22Speaker 4: you get your focus straight, and I'll tell you something,
- 6:25Speaker 4: you get your face shoved right into the truth a lot.
- 6:27Speaker 4: The reason I'm able to speak this truth is because
- 6:29Speaker 4: as a gay man, I do feel... <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.
- 6:57Speaker 2: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> You're talking to me?
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah. I think Meg Ryan is probably America's princess. Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 3: she's probably the Doris Day of her time.
- 7:04Speaker 4: You love that little turned-up nose. You love all those gums.
- 7:07Speaker 4: You love her when Harry pumps Sally or whatever that
- 7:09Speaker 4: thing is.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I like her.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I don't know that I love her, and I don't
- 7:13Speaker 3: know that she merits all of this hostility from you.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Phil, it's not hostility. I'll ask any woman listening to
- 7:20Speaker 4: your broadcast right now. A woman... leaves her husband and
- 7:24Speaker 4: starts dating another man while they're still married. I don't
- 7:27Speaker 4: see any man listening to your broadcast right now. What's
- 7:28Speaker 4: that make her?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Well, I.
- 7:31Speaker 4: You love Meg Ryan. Because if you don't, you must
- 7:33Speaker 4: be gay.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Oh, I see. Only gay guys hate her. Is that it?
- 7:36Speaker 4: I'm saying it takes a gay man to be honest
- 7:38Speaker 4: about it.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I don't think about her private life, man. I've seen
- 7:42Speaker 3: her movies. She's pretty good. Some of her movies are
- 7:45Speaker 3: better than others. And that's about as far as I
- 7:48Speaker 3: think about that. But to come out here... And call her,
- 7:50Speaker 3: as you said, a sore-jawed slut.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I mean, man, this is a mother.
- 7:54Speaker 4: You bet she's a mother. But I'm a gay man.
- 7:58Speaker 2: She's a mother and you're a gay man, so therefore.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I have to be honest. I cannot not be honest.
- 8:07Speaker 2: All right, 1-800-449. You know, your honesty one of these days, man,
- 8:10Speaker 2: is going to get you sued.
- 8:11Speaker 4: You know that? Bring it on.
- 8:12Speaker 2: You know it's going to get you sued, right?
- 8:13Speaker 4: Bring it on.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Bring it on. I've been sued. It ain't fun.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Well, I know that, but I'm just saying I have
- 8:18Speaker 4: to as a journalist.
- 8:20Speaker 2: A gay journalist, remember?
- 8:21Speaker 4: That's right, a gay man and a gay journalist. I
- 8:23Speaker 4: have to speak this truth. If somebody wants to sue me,
- 8:25Speaker 4: bring it on.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Let me tell you something, Doug. I speak from experience.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Getting sued sucks. 1-800-449-8686.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Doug Danger is with us, reacting in his column today
- 8:36Speaker 3: in the Orange County Courier about an interview with Meg Ryan.
- 8:41Speaker 3: She says that her husband, by the way, Dennis Quaid,
- 8:44Speaker 3: did not cheat on her, as was reported wildly by
- 8:48Speaker 3: a less responsible press, perhaps, than Doug. Phil Hendry Show.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Phil Hendry with Doug Danger from the Orange County Courier.
- 8:55Speaker 3: We're talking about Meg Ryan and her divorce from, or
- 9:00Speaker 3: pending divorce from Dennis Quaid.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Phil, what we're really talking about, though, is what we
- 9:04Speaker 4: think of Meg Ryan.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah, we're talking about that. What we're talking about really
- 9:07Speaker 3: is what you think of Meg Ryan. Your essential premise.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Phil, my essential premise is the mainstream press has never
- 9:14Speaker 4: had the guts to speak honestly about Meg Ryan, and
- 9:16Speaker 4: I do.
- 9:17Speaker 3: So this isn't really about what you think of Meg Ryan.
- 9:19Speaker 3: This is about the fact that you're more honest?
- 9:21Speaker 4: As a gay man, as a gay journalist. I'm a
- 9:24Speaker 4: gay man, okay? You got that?
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I got it.
- 9:27Speaker 4: And as a gay journalist, I've got to be honest.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Meg Ryan is a bull-legged slut.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Okay, can we stop with the bull-legged slut and the
- 9:35Speaker 2: sore-jawed slut and everything else?
- 9:36Speaker 4: Well, look, she's out with this guy that she's not
- 9:38Speaker 4: even married to.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Well, she's legally divorced from her husband. Or legally separated,
- 9:42Speaker 2: I should say.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Not divorced.
- 9:43Speaker 2: No, I said legally separated, not divorced.
- 9:46Speaker 3: And while that may not be the right thing morally
- 9:50Speaker 3: for a lot of people, she's doing it.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And you know what else, man?
- 9:54Speaker 3: It wouldn't even be something that we'd be paying attention
- 9:57Speaker 3: to were it not for cats like you who write
- 9:59Speaker 3: about this.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Stuff. Oh, but cats like me, is that it? So
- 10:02Speaker 4: in other words, I'm the reason why we've got a
- 10:04Speaker 4: loose morality in this country.
- 10:05Speaker 3: No, but I mean every little thing that an actor
- 10:07Speaker 3: or actress does, you guys got to report on that.
- 10:10Speaker 4: When you say you guys, don't cloud me in with
- 10:11Speaker 4: the rest of the press. I'm a gay man and
- 10:13Speaker 4: a gay journalist. And as a gay journalist, I'm more
- 10:16Speaker 4: honest than most people. And I do think I'm a
- 10:18Speaker 4: little bit better than most people.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Most writers?
- 10:21Speaker 4: No, most people.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Well, I don't know how you can say that. I've
- 10:24Speaker 2: got to take a phone call here.
- 10:25Speaker 4: 1-800-449-8686.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Philadelphia on the Phil Henry Show. Hello?
- 10:30Speaker 5: Hi.
- 10:30Speaker 6: I think your guest has poor logic. I don't understand
- 10:33Speaker 6: how him being gay makes him more truthful than the
- 10:36Speaker 6: rest of the people in the world.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Well, because I've had to deal more honestly with people.
- 10:42Speaker 4: You have to get to the truth. Because being gay
- 10:46Speaker 4: is a very painful thing to have to admit. Once
- 10:48Speaker 4: you do that, you are in the world of truth.
- 10:51Speaker 4: As a gay man, as a gay journalist, I can
- 10:53Speaker 4: say certain things that other people are afraid to say.
- 10:55Speaker 4: I have to tell you, I do feel a little
- 10:58Speaker 4: bit superior.
- 10:59Speaker 6: I think there are many challenges that people go through
- 11:02Speaker 6: in the world, whether it's being gay or some ethnicity
- 11:05Speaker 6: or others are handicapped, and that doesn't necessarily make them
- 11:09Speaker 6: more truthful.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Well, you're wrong. And the reason why I know you're
- 11:14Speaker 4: wrong is because I am gay, and I know a
- 11:17Speaker 4: little bit better when people are wrong.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Wait a minute, because I'm straight, I don't know as
- 11:21Speaker 2: well as you do when people are wrong?
- 11:23Speaker 4: That's correct.
- 11:24Speaker 6: Boy, we have a really interesting society.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Then, based on your perception of it. Well, you're going
- 11:30Speaker 4: to need to get out there and meet some people.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Get into it. You know?
- 11:35Speaker 6: I tell you, I think that you're full of crap.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Well, you're wrong. And I know you're wrong because I'm gay.
- 11:41Speaker 4: You see what I'm saying?
- 11:43Speaker 6: You are really full of, you have no logic whatsoever.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Well, you're not making, all you said was I'm full
- 11:48Speaker 4: of crap. Well, that's a great argument.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Well, being gay doesn't make you truthful.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Yes, it does.
- 11:56Speaker 6: It absolutely does not.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Yes, it does. How many gay people do you know?
- 12:00Speaker 4: How many gay people do you know?
- 12:02Speaker 6: I know a great many gay people.
- 12:03Speaker 4: No, you don't. I already know she's lying, Phil.
- 12:06Speaker 2: How do you know she's lying?
- 12:07Speaker 4: I can tell that she doesn't know any gay people.
- 12:10Speaker 5: She's a housewife.
- 12:11Speaker 4: You're a housewife, right?
- 12:13Speaker 6: No, I'm not.
- 12:14Speaker 7: I'm actually an executive.
- 12:16Speaker 4: No, you're not an executive. You don't have the strong,
- 12:18Speaker 4: forceful tones of an executive. You're a housewife. You're married.
- 12:23Speaker 4: You have probably two kids.
- 12:25Speaker 6: I've never had children. I'm an only child.
- 12:29Speaker 4: I've never been married. I didn't ask you about whether you're... Well,
- 12:32Speaker 4: that's true. You do call talk shows, so you probably
- 12:34Speaker 4: don't have a lot of friends.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine. San Diego on a Phil Henry show.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Hello.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Hello. No, but I have an insight.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Great. San Diego, hello.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Yes, unbelievable that you'd have somebody to use the airwaves
- 12:47Speaker 5: to promote his sexuality versus his integrity. Well, I'm a
- 12:50Speaker 5: gay man and a gay journalist. I've never thought about
- 12:52Speaker 5: somebody that would use their sexuality versus their integrity.
- 12:55Speaker 4: That's why I have integrity, because I am gay. That's
- 12:58Speaker 4: why I have a great amount of integrity. I have
- 12:59Speaker 4: integrity because I am gay. Are you gay? You don't
- 13:01Speaker 4: understand anything about humanity, but you put more credence to what's.
- 13:11Speaker 5: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.
- 13:13Speaker 4: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.

- 13:36Speaker 5: The show's about Meg Ryan, not about your gayety. That's right.
- 13:40Speaker 2: We were going to talk about Meg Ryan.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Well, but I know about gay... But hold on.
- 13:45Speaker 2: You were going to talk about Meg Ryan.
- 13:46Speaker 4: I know about gay... Gayety?
- 13:48Speaker 5: We're talking about Meg Ryan.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, okay.
- 13:52Speaker 7: Right.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Let's talk about Meg Ryan here and forget about you.
- 13:55Speaker 5: I'll be glad to talk about Meg Ryan.
- 13:56Speaker 2: No, no.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Hold on for a minute. I'm going to ask Doug now.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Start talking about Meg Ryan. I'll let this man say
- 14:02Speaker 3: what he has to say.
- 14:02Speaker 4: All right. Meg Ryan, in my opinion, is a slut.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Because I'm gay, and I know that.
- 14:08Speaker 5: What does that have to do with your gaiety, whether
- 14:10Speaker 5: she's a slut? Can a heterosexual or a monogamist or
- 14:14Speaker 5: a celibate say that she's a slut?
- 14:16Speaker 4: So what? No.
- 14:16Speaker 5: What does your gaiety have to do with anything about
- 14:19Speaker 5: Meg Ryan? Put it between your ears and listen for
- 14:22Speaker 5: a moment.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I'm listening to you.
- 14:23Speaker 5: All right, listen real clear.
- 14:24Speaker 4: All right, here it is.
- 14:25Speaker 5: Meg Ryan happens to be a movie star that had
- 14:27Speaker 5: a problem and she stepped out of her marriage or whatever.
- 14:29Speaker 5: And regarding her husband, did you see L.A.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Confidential?
- 14:34Speaker 5: Crow is an excellent actor. He's got one note. He's
- 14:36Speaker 5: got one emotional note.
- 14:37Speaker 4: One emotional note. He's an excellent actor. That's all he
- 14:40Speaker 4: ever hits, one emotional note, okay? He's been implosive and
- 14:43Speaker 4: brooding in every movie he's ever been in, okay?
- 14:45Speaker 5: That's number one.
- 14:46Speaker 4: So he's not an excellent actor. He's got one emotional key.
- 14:50Speaker 5: I love Meg Ryan and I love her husband. I
- 14:52Speaker 5: know all the Quaid brothers are excellent actors. But you
- 14:55Speaker 5: took an opportunity to take this show and promote your gaiety.
- 15:00Speaker 5: This show is not about your gaiety.
- 15:02Speaker 4: My gaiety is my business.
- 15:05Speaker 5: It's your problem.
- 15:06Speaker 4: None of your business. You have a problem with your gaiety. Hey,
- 15:08Speaker 4: my gaiety is none of your business.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Why can't you just.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Talk about Meg instead of your gaiety?
- 15:14Speaker 4: I am talking about Meg. I'm talking about Meg. But
- 15:16Speaker 4: the reason why I can be honest about her like
- 15:18Speaker 4: you can't because of my I call that my gayism
- 15:22Speaker 4: you know I don't know real confident you might be
- 15:25Speaker 4: alright but you be alright I'm a girl's you would
- 15:28Speaker 4: go out and be your make yourself visual for being
- 15:31Speaker 4: a radio wave you.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Should stand out the platform like that they do in
- 15:34Speaker 5: the gate parade in San Francisco say I am gay
- 15:37Speaker 5: and I'm proud.
- 15:38Speaker 4: I'm playing a radio show right now and also I
- 15:40Speaker 4: have a column the Orange County Courier so everybody knows
- 15:42Speaker 4: I'm gay I'm a gay man and I'm a gay
- 15:44Speaker 4: journalist that makes me honest And.
- 15:46Speaker 5: That means that I can say... It makes you so
- 15:47Speaker 5: much better, more honest than any other journalist, right?
- 15:49Speaker 4: It does make me superior, I think, in some ways. Yes, sir.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Yes, it does.
- 15:52Speaker 5: You need to check in with some real sexologist who
- 15:54Speaker 5: can help you out. If it identifies who you really are, sir,
- 15:58Speaker 5: because you don't know who you are yet.
- 15:59Speaker 4: I do believe that I am superior to you. Now,
- 16:03Speaker 4: I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but I've been
- 16:05Speaker 4: listening to you.
- 16:05Speaker 5: I'll give credit to this radio show who gave you
- 16:07Speaker 5: the opportunity to plight yourself and let people know that
- 16:11Speaker 5: finally we have a gay man out there who's a journalist.
- 16:14Speaker 5: God bless America.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I'm a gay journalist. Wonderful. God bless you. Are you
- 16:19Speaker 4: aware of that?
- 16:21Speaker 5: How can we not? We're going to use the whole
- 16:22Speaker 5: radio program to promote your gaiety as a journalist.
- 16:25Speaker 4: My gaiety began... I've been out for almost two years, okay?
- 16:29Speaker 5: Wonderful!
- 16:30Speaker 4: Wonderful.
- 16:31Speaker 5: My brother's been out for 30 years.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Who cares?
- 16:33Speaker 5: I served the Marine Corps in Vietnam.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Who cares? Okay. But you have to, yeah, and if
- 16:40Speaker 4: you had your way, they would have kicked him out
- 16:41Speaker 4: of the service, right?
- 16:42Speaker 2: No, he said he served with the guy. What does
- 16:43Speaker 2: that have to do with him.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Being an honest and squared away guy?
- 16:46Speaker 4: All right.
- 16:46Speaker 5: You're confusing your sexuality.
- 16:48Speaker 4: I'm not here to demean fighting mayors. You are confusing.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Your sexuality with your integrity.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I'm not here to demean. Don't you know the difference?
- 16:54Speaker 5: There's nobody on the radio waves today who cares about
- 16:57Speaker 5: your sexuality. Any more than Bill Clinton.
- 17:00Speaker 4: It's got nothing to do with it.
- 17:01Speaker 5: Nobody cares about Bill Clinton except his integrity.
- 17:05Speaker 4: You're angry because I'm superior to a lot of people.
- 17:08Speaker 4: You're angry about that.
- 17:08Speaker 5: If you have a problem with that superiority, you ought
- 17:10Speaker 5: to go for Halloween and put the big S on
- 17:12Speaker 5: your chest like Superman and say, I'm.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Superior because I'm gay. I am gay and I'm proud.
- 17:18Speaker 4: I can't believe it. I'm going as Marsha Brady to
- 17:22Speaker 4: the West Hollywood Parade if you want to know. I'd
- 17:25Speaker 4: love to see you. Wait a minute.
- 17:26Speaker 2: You're going to do what?
- 17:27Speaker 4: I'm going to dress up as Marsha Brady.
- 17:29Speaker 2: For the West Hollywood Parade.
- 17:32Speaker 4: See, you hate gay people. You just laughed at me.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I love them. You laughed at me. I'll laugh.
- 17:38Speaker 5: You are not the representative of the typical gay person,
- 17:42Speaker 5: my friend. You've got people right now in San Francisco
- 17:45Speaker 5: and the gay community here in San Diego laughing up
- 17:48Speaker 5: the storm as they're listening to the radio.
- 17:51Speaker 4: First of all, there is no gay community in San Diego.
- 17:54Speaker 4: You're wrong.
- 17:55Speaker 5: That's how much you know, my friend.
- 17:57Speaker 4: I'm sitting in it right now.
- 17:58Speaker 5: It's called Mission Heights.
- 17:59Speaker 4: My friend. Well, you like hanging out with fags, don't you?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Okay, watch it, watch it, watch it. All right, sir,
- 18:05Speaker 2: I've got to break, sir. I appreciate your call.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Thank you, sir. 1-800-449-8686.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:08Speaker 2: This is the Phil Henry Show.
- 18:14Speaker 4: 1-800-449-8686.
- 18:15Speaker 3: This is the Phil Henry Show. Doug Danger from the
- 18:19Speaker 3: Orange County Courier is on the line with me. Doug
- 18:21Speaker 3: is talking about Meg Ryan, her split from her husband,
- 18:24Speaker 3: Dennis Quaid, her romance with Russell Crowe, and that Meg
- 18:28Speaker 3: is a loose woman.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I will not use the word that you used, Doug.
- 18:32Speaker 4: I didn't think you would, Phil, because... I know.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I'm straight, and I'm not as honest as you, so
- 18:37Speaker 2: you like to throw around words like slut.
- 18:40Speaker 4: I don't like to throw around. Phil, what I'm saying
- 18:42Speaker 4: is just the obvious fact that the woman... is, I think,
- 18:46Speaker 4: a little loose. I mean, she was married to the guy.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Just exactly how many men is she going out with
- 18:51Speaker 3: when she was married to Dennis Quaid?
- 18:53Speaker 4: I don't care. She goes all the way down to Australia,
- 18:56Speaker 4: loosens up her jaw like a snake, starts doing, you know,
- 19:00Speaker 4: I'll tell you right now, a little cone-gobbing.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Okay, would you watch it?
- 19:04Speaker 4: Watch what?
- 19:06Speaker 2: I don't like that phrase.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Cone-gob.
- 19:08Speaker 2: No, I don't like cone-gob.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Well, I mean.
- 19:13Speaker 3: You know, one of the problems that we have here
- 19:15Speaker 3: is the fact that you, in your honesty, don't respect
- 19:18Speaker 3: the borders and the boundaries that I must respect as
- 19:21Speaker 3: a broadcaster.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I appreciate that.
- 19:23Speaker 2: You do?
- 19:24Speaker 4: Yes, I do.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Then why don't you.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Just rein in your honesty for a second and realize,
- 19:28Speaker 3: I got a license to protect here.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Do you understand that? A federal license.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I understand.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Okay, so Meg Ryan's loose, and.
- 19:35Speaker 4: And I can say that, Phil, because I am gay.
- 19:37Speaker 4: I am a gay journalist. I do have honesty on
- 19:39Speaker 4: my side, and... I'm sorry if people are upset that
- 19:43Speaker 4: I'm better than them.
- 19:44Speaker 2: But you feel you are?
- 19:45Speaker 4: Some people, yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Some people.
- 19:48Speaker 3: I'm going to ask you a question. I'm going to
- 19:49Speaker 3: take a phone call, gentlemen. been hanging on in Rochester,
- 19:51Speaker 3: New York. Then I've got a question to ask you. Rochester, hello.
- 19:53Speaker 3: You're on the Phil Hendry Show?
- 19:54Speaker 4: Hi.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Hi.
- 19:56Speaker 8: I hate to do this, but I agree with your
- 19:59Speaker 8: guest insofar as it's wrong to cheat outside of your marriage.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 20:05Speaker 5: But.
- 20:06Speaker 4: And why does Meg Ryan get to do that?
- 20:08Speaker 5: She doesn't.
- 20:09Speaker 4: She's America's princess, you know?
- 20:11Speaker 8: The reason I know that it's wrong to cheat on
- 20:13Speaker 8: your spouse is because of morals and the way you're raised,
- 20:16Speaker 8: not because I'm gay. And to use your.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Are you gay, sir?
- 20:20Speaker 7: Yes, I am.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Well, then you understand what I'm saying.
- 20:23Speaker 8: Not because I'm gay, though.
- 20:24Speaker 4: But you know that as gay men we are better
- 20:27Speaker 4: suited to lead in some situations, better suited to view
- 20:33Speaker 4: human nature....
- 20:35Speaker 8: Maybe you L.A. gay guys are, but not.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I thought... You're a gay man? Yes,
- 20:40Speaker 4: I am. All right, I'm gay, okay? No kidding. Well,
- 20:43Speaker 4: you know, your sarcasm aside, I'm a gay man. I'm
- 20:45Speaker 4: a gay journalist.
- 20:46Speaker 2: The guy knows that already, Doug.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Well, I'm just saying, there's no difference between a gay
- 20:50Speaker 4: guy in Rochester and a gay guy in L.A. other
- 20:53Speaker 4: than the fact the gay guy in Rochester is wearing
- 20:54Speaker 4: a fur coat. You know, and I'm out here in
- 20:57Speaker 4: a pair of swimming trunks.
- 20:59Speaker 8: Well, the difference is we don't assume to know morals
- 21:02Speaker 8: based on our being gay.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Well, what do you think of Meg Ryan? She's a slut, right?
- 21:06Speaker 4: You said so. That's because you're gay. I'll tell you
- 21:10Speaker 4: something else.
- 21:10Speaker 8: I said it's wrong to cheat on a spouse.
- 21:12Speaker 4: That doesn't make.
- 21:12Speaker 8: Her a slut.
- 21:13Speaker 4: The only guy, Phil, you've had on the show tonight
- 21:15Speaker 4: who agrees with me is this gay gentleman in Rochester.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but the guy said something that you're looking over.
- 21:21Speaker 3: He said it's about morality. It isn't because he's gay.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Because he doesn't want to hurt anybody's feelings. Or maybe
- 21:27Speaker 4: you don't recognize your natural superiority.
- 21:29Speaker 5: But you are.
- 21:31Speaker 4: You are, my friend. As a gay man, you're a
- 21:33Speaker 4: cut above most people. I'll tell you what, I think
- 21:37Speaker 4: because our gayety, as that clown in San Diego likes
- 21:40Speaker 4: to call it, makes us more sensitive to the rest
- 21:45Speaker 4: of the world's pain and also sensitive to the rest
- 21:48Speaker 4: of the world's successes. I think we just have our
- 21:51Speaker 4: antennas higher than everybody else's.
- 21:54Speaker 8: You know, I don't appreciate the word gaiety either.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I don't like it either, but that guy in San
- 21:57Speaker 4: Diego says it's our gaiety, you know.
- 22:00Speaker 8: And he's showing ignorance, and we shouldn't foster that in
- 22:02Speaker 8: our community by bringing up ridiculous things. If someone's a slut,
- 22:05Speaker 8: they're a slut, period.
- 22:07Speaker 4: If I'm a gay man, I think I have a right.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Oh, boy.
- 22:11Speaker 8: I would disagree.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Okay, listen to the homophobia coming from the host, and
- 22:14Speaker 4: you'll know what I'm talking about.
- 22:15Speaker 2: What homophobia? Hold on. What homophobia have I.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Oh, you're making fun of the fact that I'm a
- 22:21Speaker 4: gay man?
- 22:22Speaker 2: I haven't done any... How long have you known me?
- 22:24Speaker 4: What?
- 22:24Speaker 2: How long have you known me?
- 22:26Speaker 4: About ten years.
- 22:27Speaker 2: You know for a fact I'm not homophobic. I've had
- 22:29Speaker 2: you on my show repeatedly.
- 22:30Speaker 8: He's been on before?
- 22:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Guy writes for a local paper.
- 22:35Speaker 4: You know, you like to bring out our friendship, Phil. Yes,
- 22:37Speaker 4: we're friends. That doesn't mean you're not a Nazi... And
- 22:41Speaker 4: it doesn't mean you're not a hate monger.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I'm a friend
- 22:45Speaker 2: of yours.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:47Speaker 2: And I'm a hate monger and a Nazi.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Sometimes.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Oh, that's great.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Am I right, sir? I'm sure you have a lot
- 22:54Speaker 4: of straight friends.
- 22:55Speaker 8: I haven't detected that at all.
- 22:56Speaker 4: I'm sure you've got a lot of straight friends who
- 22:58Speaker 4: sometimes will beat you up in an alley.
- 23:00Speaker 8: Not that I know of. A straight friend called me today.
- 23:02Speaker 5: He told me, put on the radio.
- 23:03Speaker 8: You've got to hear this guy.
- 23:05Speaker 4: I turned it on. I have a very dear straight
- 23:08Speaker 4: friend who lives in Newport Beach, California. We play golf together,
- 23:11Speaker 4: but occasionally we come out of a bar, and he
- 23:14Speaker 4: just wants to beat me up.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Do you beat him.
- 23:16Speaker 8: At golf because you're gay? Does that make you better
- 23:18Speaker 8: at golf, too?
- 23:19Speaker 4: I believe, as a gay man, I am better at golf, yes, sir.
- 23:21Speaker 2: How do you figure that?
- 23:23Speaker 4: Thank you. You know what? I can't explain it to you.
- 23:25Speaker 4: You're straight. But, yes, I am better at golf, and
- 23:28Speaker 4: I'm a better bowler.
- 23:29Speaker 8: You can't explain it to me, either, and I'm gay.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Do you golf? No. Then you don't. There you go.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Take up golf, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
- 23:37Speaker 4: I guarantee you, as a gay man, it'll take you
- 23:39Speaker 4: about two hours to pick up the game, and you'll
- 23:41Speaker 4: be like a 3-2 handicap.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Oh, get out of here.
- 23:44Speaker 4: I swear to God. All right.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Sir, thank you for your call.
- 23:48Speaker 5: 1-800-449-8686.
- 23:48Speaker 3: University City on the Phil Hendry Show.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Hello? Are you there, ma'am? He's gone. Here is Newport
- 23:56Speaker 2: News on the Phil Hendry Show.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Hello?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Newport News.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Hello?
- 24:00Speaker 7: All right.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Hi.
- 24:03Speaker 9: Like your phone screener said, get right to the point. Hey,
- 24:07Speaker 9: the point is, if her marriage isn't working out, it
- 24:11Speaker 9: isn't working out, she's doing something different, that's her life.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Are you gay, sir?
- 24:15Speaker 9: The other guy that wants to cram this gay, this
- 24:19Speaker 9: and this down everybody's throat.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I'm a gay man.
- 24:22Speaker 9: We don't want to, well, we big deal, okay?
- 24:25Speaker 4: Do you know that? Are you aware of that?
- 24:27Speaker 9: Yeah, I've heard you say it about 30 times.
- 24:30Speaker 4: All I'm trying to say.
- 24:31Speaker 9: And you should be getting a point across besides you're
- 24:33Speaker 9: a gay man and a journalist.
- 24:35Speaker 4: I'm a better golfer because I'm gay. It makes me
- 24:38Speaker 4: better is all I'm saying. Okay, I can find... You know,
- 24:42Speaker 4: I have a better... Hey, Phil, this guy's so full
- 24:45Speaker 4: of crap.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Look, what are you saying?
- 24:47Speaker 4: I'm saying that I've got better physical stamina now since
- 24:49Speaker 4: I've been gay.
- 24:49Speaker 9: And if you've met him on the radio before, I'm
- 24:51Speaker 9: going to quit listening to your show because I cannot
- 24:54Speaker 9: put up with this no more.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Oh, Phil, don't let this guy leave. He's a great
- 24:57Speaker 4: listener of yours. He sounds like he drinks a lot. Yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 4: I am, I am. Please don't go, sir. Please don't go.
- 25:02Speaker 9: You call Phil a Nazi and stuff.
- 25:06Speaker 7: He is a Nazi.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And you're the guy who says you've got better stamina.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Ever since I've been gay, ever since I've been gay,
- 25:12Speaker 4: I've got better stamina.
- 25:14Speaker 9: Nazis and people that don't like gays.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Do you know, sir, that I'm a better hunter today?
- 25:21Speaker 9: You know, instead of getting along, they listen to people
- 25:23Speaker 9: like you.
- 25:24Speaker 2: All right, hold on for a minute.
- 25:25Speaker 9: Trying to cram it down.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Through everybody's lungs. Hold on, hold on, hold on for
- 25:28Speaker 2: a minute. Now, Doug, what was your point?
- 25:30Speaker 4: I'm simply trying to say that I'm a great, I
- 25:32Speaker 4: like to go quail hunting. Since I've been gay, I'm
- 25:36Speaker 4: a better quail hunter than anybody. I just find it
- 25:39Speaker 4: helps me.
- 25:40Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686. Here is Roland Heights on the Phil Henry Show.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Hello? Roland Heights, hello?
- 25:48Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Yes, sir, go ahead.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Yes.
- 25:51Speaker 7: Sir, because you're gay doesn't mean that you know everything
- 25:55Speaker 7: that there is to know about a person. I am straight.
- 25:58Speaker 7: I've been married 30 years, and I agree with you
- 26:01Speaker 7: that Meg Ryan should not cheat because that is one
- 26:04Speaker 7: of the Ten Commandments.
- 26:05Speaker 4: That's true, sir.
- 26:06Speaker 7: Don't bring up the fact that you are gay and
- 26:10Speaker 7: that you know more than anybody else because you don't, sir.
- 26:13Speaker 4: I do, I do.
- 26:16Speaker 7: No, you don't, because everybody has the same knowledge.
- 26:20Speaker 4: I'll give you an example. One day, I didn't know
- 26:23Speaker 4: how to change the oil. I got a 58 Volkswagen.
- 26:26Speaker 4: And then when I came out of the closet and
- 26:27Speaker 4: said I was gay, I could change the oil on it.
- 26:31Speaker 7: No, sir, you're wrong.
- 26:32Speaker 5: No, that's true.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I swear to God.
- 26:34Speaker 7: A 10-year-old kid could change an oil on a car.
- 26:36Speaker 4: But I, being gay, I learned how to do it
- 26:39Speaker 4: in like five minutes. Because of my gayness. Well, look it, Doug. What?
- 26:47Speaker 3: You're a better quail hunter because you're gay? You have
- 26:49Speaker 3: more stamina jogging?
- 26:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 26:52Speaker 5: You know, I work for the fire department, sir.
- 26:54Speaker 4: I got more stamina than you do. Boy, I got
- 26:57Speaker 4: a whole lot. I got more wins since I became gay.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Since you became gay?
- 27:01Speaker 4: You work for the fire department? Yes, sir.
- 27:03Speaker 7: I work for the fire department. I got more stamina
- 27:06Speaker 7: than you do because I have to have it. So
- 27:07Speaker 7: you don't have more stamina than anybody else does.
- 27:10Speaker 4: I think you do have a lot of stamina.
- 27:11Speaker 7: You're not smarter than anybody else.
- 27:12Speaker 4: I know you have a lot of stamina because you
- 27:14Speaker 4: work for the fire department, but because I'm gay, I
- 27:16Speaker 4: have more stamina than you.
- 27:18Speaker 7: No, I doubt that very much.
- 27:20Speaker 4: I'm sorry, but it's true. They should hire only gay firemen.
- 27:24Speaker 7: You know what it is? It's all up in your head.
- 27:26Speaker 7: You know, because you bring out the fact that you're gay,
- 27:29Speaker 7: it's all in your head.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Well, you feel bad because I'm better than you, and
- 27:32Speaker 4: it makes you angry. No, I don't. Well, yeah, that's
- 27:34Speaker 4: why you're angry.
- 27:36Speaker 7: I've got two years of college.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Phil, I'd like to tell.
- 27:38Speaker 7: What about you?
- 27:40Speaker 4: You have two years of college, sir? Yeah. Well, I
- 27:42Speaker 4: hate to break the news, but I got six.
- 27:45Speaker 7: Well, that's good.
- 27:45Speaker 4: All right.
- 27:46Speaker 7: But you're still not better than anybody else.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Now, here's the thing. I would like to tell everybody,
- 27:50Speaker 4: because I am gay, who to vote for in the
- 27:52Speaker 4: presidential election.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Well, what has that got to.
- 27:55Speaker 4: I want everybody to know I will be voting for
- 27:57Speaker 4: Al Gore. Okay, sir?
- 27:59Speaker 7: Did you get that? Well, that just doesn't show you
- 28:01Speaker 7: how stupid you really are.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Did you get that, sir? Yeah, you're stupid. Okay. Are
- 28:06Speaker 4: you going to vote? You're now voting for Al Gore, okay?
- 28:09Speaker 7: No, I'm not, boy.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Yes, you are.
- 28:13Speaker 7: I'm voting for Bush.
- 28:15Speaker 5: No!
- 28:15Speaker 2: No! Wait a minute, Doug.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Don't tell me what to say!
- 28:18Speaker 2: Wait, what are you... You're losing your temper.
- 28:20Speaker 4: This guy's voting for Gore!
- 28:23Speaker 2: Is he nuts?
- 28:25Speaker 7: Are you putting words into my mouth, son?
- 28:27Speaker 4: I'll put something else in your mouth. You're voting for Gore!
- 28:30Speaker 2: Okay, I got to put him on hold and get
- 28:31Speaker 2: him under control. I apologize.
- 28:33Speaker 7: How can you have an idiot on the TV, on
- 28:35Speaker 7: the radio?
- 28:36Speaker 2: I don't know how he got on the TV. You
- 28:38Speaker 2: mean the radio?
- 28:40Speaker 3: My producer, and I'd like to give you his name,
- 28:43Speaker 3: Mike Schaefer, he did it. What a scumbag, right, sir?
- 28:48Speaker 2: Well, I'm serious. Well, I would. My producer, Michael Schaefer.
- 28:53Speaker 7: Who's... He needs to have a little more.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, control or something.
- 28:58Speaker 7: Yes, because you don't need idiots like that.
- 29:01Speaker 2: You're right. And Mike Schaefer.
- 29:03Speaker 7: I know that's what the radio is all about.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Well, no, it isn't. It's about educating. And Mike Schaefer
- 29:08Speaker 2: should know better.
- 29:10Speaker 3: So I appreciate very much you pointing out that my
- 29:12Speaker 3: producer sucks.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't say that.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Well, yes, you did.
