- 0:31Sean McAllister: We need to spread the word on this.
- 0:33Dayna Roselli: We do, so good.
- 0:34Dayna Roselli: And the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit gets a newer version where you can see it.
- 0:38Sean McAllister: All of this and more coming up right now on Vegas Reveal.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Vegas Revealed, presented by Galindo Law, starts now.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed.
- 0:50Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli along with Sean McAllister, and we are really excited to dive in and tell you all about the Wizard of Oz coming to sphere in August.
- 0:59Dayna Roselli: But we did want to start with our heartfelt condolences.
- 1:02Dayna Roselli: Uh, we found out this morning that we're recording that Elaine Wynne passed away, and both of us, Sean, were shocked.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, it was, gosh, I mean, it was less than a year ago that we saw her uh over at the big ceremony when the Mirage was closing and changing hands to become uh the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
- 1:22Sean McAllister: And Mrs.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: Wynne got up and and spoke because she and her husband were, they can't kind of created that resort as a team.
- 1:31Sean McAllister: She had so much to do not only with the Mirage, but the Bellagio and of course win resorts as well.
- 1:39Sean McAllister: Um, just such a visionary and an incredible businesswoman, but also a philanthropist.
- 1:46Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 1:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 1:47Dayna Roselli: And you know, Elaine Wynne was married to Steve Wynne, actually twice.
- 1:51Sean McAllister: Right.
- 1:52Dayna Roselli: Um, and you know, she was telling stories at the Mirage closing about when they opened it and how the idea came about, and you know, talked about where they had started and was telling stories of how Steve had the crazy idea or somebody had the crazy idea of wanting dolphins in the back.
- 2:09Sean McAllister: Yeah, well, I think that they started about, I think maybe the dolphin idea was the original idea was to have them in their backyard.
- 2:17Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 2:18Sean McAllister: She was like, no, put them at the Mirage.
- 2:19Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and in that clip uh that we posted on social media too, she was talking about how, you know, when people came up to see the mirage, they were like gasping.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: Like this is they started clapping when they walked into the atrium.
- 2:30Dayna Roselli: And, you know, they've had so many iconic moments through the years.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: I feel like they really shaped Vegas into a unique place, uh and also a luxury town.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: And they made their mark in so many ways.
- 2:41Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking about Steve Wynne and Elaine Wynne.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: Elaine just passed away, she was 82 years old on April 15th, and yeah, like Sean said, we didn't see her not too long ago.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: We saw her, I should say.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: She looked fabulous.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: Uh, we don't at the time of this recording have a cause of death yet.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: We do know in some way or fashion it had to be sudden.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, there was a a a brief illness, is um what's being reported right now.
- 3:08Sean McAllister: But uh yeah, and in addition, like I said, to uh uh everything that she did business-wise, Elaine Wynn also was uh a huge uh donor to uh education and the arts and really um has done so much for the Las Vegas community for decades now.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I love that the Wynn put out a statement about this early this morning uh with condolences.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: You know, it's a big loss for Las Vegas because she was still making appearances and running around, like I said, you know, we just saw her at the Mirage and she talked for a long time and told so many stories, and her stories and her work currently that she was doing, you know, really helps Las Vegas.
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: So she for sure will be be missed.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: An iconic woman, a classy lady, and um sad to hear about the news.
- 4:02Dayna Roselli: We'll keep you posted if we hear anything more, if there's any type of um uh celebration of life, memorial that the public will be invited to.
- 4:10Dayna Roselli: We'll let you know.
- 4:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, and certainly uh her work is going to live on through uh the Elaine Wynn Foundation as well.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: Well, this weekend we had mentioned last week we had a job with the Olympia companies.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: We do it every year with the charitable foundation.
- 4:24Dayna Roselli: They have the governor's black tie weekend.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: It was a success again.
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: They raised so much money, over a million dollars for eight charities locally, but always a fun time.
- 4:34Dayna Roselli: And we ran into a lot of people.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: Uh, Darius Rucker was performing at the Governor's Bash.
- 4:40Dayna Roselli: I had never seen him perform live.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: I thought he was great.
- 4:43Sean McAllister: Oh, he was terrific, and the crowd was so into it.
- 4:47Sean McAllister: Um, and he'll be back in Las Vegas this fall.
- 4:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, September, I think he's at the Palm.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see him live, I really enjoyed it.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: I mean, we were busy, you know, working and videoing and stuff like that, but that was great.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: We also ran into Mark Bedain again, the new A's president, and it was great to see him because we had recently seen him what was two weeks before at the Nevada Ballet Gala.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: So I love seeing that Mark is, you know, out at all these charitable events and and out there, you know, in I mean, he never went away.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: He said he always lived here when he left the Raiders, he was the president of the Raiders, but uh nice to see him out and about again, you know, representing, you know, the A's because he's the new president and it's a it's a you know major league baseball team that's coming to Las Vegas eventually.
- 5:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it uh this was the 25th anniversary of the governor's black tie uh event where, like you said, they do they've raised$30 million over the past 25 years.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: Um, but it really was.
- 5:45Sean McAllister: It was a great four-day event, a golf tournament, concerts, uh a luncheon, yeah, uh black tie dinner, fireworks, the whole nine.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: The whole nine.
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: The governor was there, the first lady of Nevada was there.
- 5:58Dayna Roselli: I really do like Donna Lombardo.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: We always have great conversations with her.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: A nice woman.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: So nice, yes.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: Yes, and that she's always at the ladies' lunch.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: So uh a good time had by all and lots of money raised.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: Um, but we also ran into a side note, I think this is why I even thought about the talk to the a lot of listeners and viewers out there on the golf course and at these events.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: And we just want to say thanks, thanks for listening, thanks for watching.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: Sometimes you don't do the show and you don't know who listens or her, but like people are coming up, like, hey, love the show.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, Do you watch or listen?
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: And and a lot of people said they D VR it um, the television show.
- 6:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, the TV show, which is great.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, so if you don't live in Las Vegas, a reminder, you can always uh watch our most recent shows, actually, all of our shows, by going to the Vegas Revealed YouTube channel.
- 6:45Sean McAllister: They're all loaded up there.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: So great place.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: And and if you do live here, the DVR, like I somebody said to me, like, do people DVR things?
- 6:54Dayna Roselli: I'm like, yes, we ran into a lot of people that actually DVR it.
- 6:57Sean McAllister: Well, and we tell people to DVR it during the show, right?
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: Because the time fluctuates a little bit.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: We're a lot of times around sports programming and stuff like that.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: So mostly we're like 7:30 on Sundays, but sometimes it's 4:30, or sometimes it's on a Saturday, or you know, sometimes 9 30 p.m.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: So anyway, set the DVR, it will always be there.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: Or if you have YouTube TV like I do, that just goes right into the the menu.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: If you do watch and listen, and if we're ever out and about, come over and say hi because we love to meet you in person when we're able to.
- 7:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's for sure.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: All right, we got a deep dive into this event we went to.
- 7:35Dayna Roselli: It was the Google Cloud Next Conference, their kickoff.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: Folks over at uh MSG, Madison Square Garden that run the sphere said, Hey, you want to go to this event?
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: They're gonna do a little press thing and show some clips of the Wizard of Oz.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: And we were like, Yes, because we've had so many people tell us they are looking forward to this.
- 7:57Sean McAllister: Oh, I mean, the second that it was announced, it was just with a picture, and uh that flew it went wild on social media, but we wondered, we were like, okay, so Sphere is having this event, but what role does Google play in this Wizard of Oz movie?
- 8:15Sean McAllister: Well, the CEO of Google was there to tell us.
- 8:18Sean McAllister: Uh, Google has developed these huge AI systems, and that's why Google, Sphere, and Warner Brothers have all teamed up to create this version of the Wizard of Oz that's going to blow your mind.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: So we didn't know when we walked in what we were gonna see, what we were gonna learn, and here's how it went down.
- 8:43Dayna Roselli: They showed us certain clips of the movie, they had different speakers from all sides explaining how they've been working on this since 2023 to put this together.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: How, you know, James Dolan spoke, um, the CEO of the sphere, and said we had to find the right partner to make this work.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: And we had a list of like, I think he said like six and narrowed it down to four, and then you know, Google was it.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: Um, and then we got to see the process of what they've been doing and how they do it, and everyone spoke.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: It was just so mind-blowing.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: And and we got to see like three uh three big moments of The Wizard of Oz.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: They're not done with it yet.
- 9:21Sean McAllister: They've said they've got the editing process, yeah.
- 9:23Dayna Roselli: They've got a lot of work to do.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: It comes out August 28th, and they said they're gonna hit that.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: Um, but that's what went on.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: So they we got to see explain or you know, hear ex explanations, see clips, and it moved along with almost like we watched this kind of documentary-ish type film right in the sphere.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: So uh just to give you an idea of what we're talking about here, uh, the original 1939 Wizard of Oz was, you know, in four by three aspect ratio.
- 9:51Sean McAllister: You were basically watching a square.
- 9:53Sean McAllister: Well, if you blow that up and show it inside of sphere, which is like 280-degree screen, and uh it's wild, and the resolution 16k, like it just wouldn't look good if you were just showing uh the original movie, right?
- 10:09Sean McAllister: So they ran the Wizard of Oz through uh multiple AI and uh also some uh you know current computer uh generated graphic kind of technology.
- 10:23Sean McAllister: Um but but they had to create the world beyond the frame that we have seen for the past uh however many decades.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: That that was cool.
- 10:34Sean McAllister: It was just wild, and they had to build the AI computers and models specifically for this project, so you can only imagine the undertaking.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: Well, and that was the thing.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: I never thought of that, that if you show it in the sphere, you know, the the film is only stretched out so far.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: So they were talking about so they're basically using the AI to kind of reimagine what would be happening outside of the frame of the movie.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: But they also stressed that they want to keep true to the film, they're not gonna do anything weird or crazy that they think you know wouldn't actually be happening.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: And they're using some type of well, AI and intelligence to and a brain almost to say what would be happening if Dorothy walks in with the scarecrow and then the scarecrow walks out of frame.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: What would the scarecrow be doing off to the right at that moment?
- 11:36Dayna Roselli: Because in the sphere, we're still seeing that far.
- 11:39Sean McAllister: Right.
- 11:40Sean McAllister: So anyway, we're seeing a world that stretches beyond what has been known uh on screen before.
- 11:48Sean McAllister: And so they did.
- 11:49Sean McAllister: They uh there were actual producers who had gone through the original uh scripts of the Wizard of Oz, read the director's notes, really wanted to make sure uh that it was an authentic representation of what was originally intended for the film.
- 12:05Sean McAllister: And now, of course, we have technology to do things that were not possible in 1939.
- 12:11Sean McAllister: So producers sat with uh the technology people who were telling the AI computers what to do and making this wild stuff happen.
- 12:23Sean McAllister: Now we're we have a couple interviews that you're gonna hear um in just a minute that explain more about this whole process, but um it really is I mean, it's astounding what they've done.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Well, the clips that they showed us, everyone was kind of like ooing and eyeing, like you can tell like there was applause.
- 12:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was amazing.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: We got to see, you know, when Dorothy sings somewhere over the rainbow, and it was incredible to see that in black and white and the screen expanded, um, and see her so clearly.
- 12:57Dayna Roselli: That was so cool.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: We got to see a scene with the wicked witch.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: Uh, that was neat.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: Um, because the wicked witch was woo, right up there.
- 13:05Sean McAllister: And she is green.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she is very green.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: Uh, we got to see them walking into frame, you know, heading up to uh Emerald City and to see the wizard.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: To see the wizard, yeah.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: You got to see the wizard for a brief moment.
- 13:18Sean McAllister: It's a mild thing.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: Both in the witch's castle and going to see the wizard.
- 13:22Sean McAllister: You look up and you see the ceiling of the room.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 13:26Sean McAllister: Like you are it it feels like you are right there walking the yellow brick road right alongside the characters.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: So we posted this on our TikTok, and the fighting back and forth about AI is still going to this day.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: It's been a week.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: Uh, and I thought that was interesting because I never really thought of it.
- 13:46Dayna Roselli: I thought, wow, what an amazing creative way to bring this film to life.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: And yeah, I don't, you know, I think we all worry AI is gonna take over the world and people aren't gonna have jobs and stuff like that.
- 13:57Dayna Roselli: We need to be caught for certain if it's used for certain things.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: For this, though, it only makes sense if we have this technology.
- 14:05Dayna Roselli: How do we bring a film, an existing film?
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: How do we keep it the same, but allow it to be shown in the sphere or make it, you know, formatted to even be an experience inside the sphere?
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: AI, we have it, right?
- 14:20Sean McAllister: Well, Judy and the Munchkins aren't coming back to reshoot scenes.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: No.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: And that's what people are saying in the TikTok.
- 14:27Dayna Roselli: Like, that's not happening.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: So what else?
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: And then, well, they should have used actors.
- 14:31Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, well, then you're not really, you know, then the wizard doesn't look like the wizard.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: And so, like, it's very interesting.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: So, in one of the interviews with Ben Grossman, the co-founder and CEO of Mechnopis, you you'll find it very interesting.
- 14:44Dayna Roselli: I think the way he lays it out explains when you think about how this film was shot before, um, how this had to happen.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: And this is one way that you just it needed to be done.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: And this conversation you're about to hear happened immediately after we saw these first images of the Wizard of Oz.
- 15:04Sean McAllister: We were the only uh really podcast or video outlet there.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was all print or, you know, uh people asking questions, but not, you know, we had the microphone and we had we videoed it for our television show and were able to use some of the audio too.
- 15:19Dayna Roselli: We were, it was uh kind of a panel, so I was trying to get the mic as close as I could to hear some of the answers, but I think it'll play out just fine in audio.
- 15:26Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, in many ways, this is a little bit of a Vegas revealed exclusive.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: So thanks to the folks over at Sphere for inviting us.
- 15:33Sean McAllister: So who you are going to be hearing from?
- 15:36Sean McAllister: Uh Ben Grossman, who is the co-founder and CEO of Magnopis, like Dana mentioned.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: But first you'll hear from Jennifer Kessner, who is president and chief operating officer at Sphere.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: I know you still have a lot to do, but is there a scene of the movie that you are just like, or maybe my mind is blown, or you got the chills, or I can't believe we nailed this, that's gonna blow people away because we're gonna have a lot of people watching that are hyped about to come to see the film.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: I I would say personally, the forest for me.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: You feel as though you are literally with Dorothy, with Toto, there's monkeys, like and you look up and it's it's cavernous.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: I don't know how else they're explaining it except it's cavernous.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: You have to remember that the original movie was all shot inside buildings.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: So when you watch the original movie, it's all shot in sound stages in Culver City.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: And so anytime there was a far distant hillside, it was a painting.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: And anytime you saw a big wide vista, it was a painting on glass that was photographed through in a small stage.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: So nothing was ever shot outside in the Wizard of Oz movie.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: So forests, those were all trees brought indoors, planted, and the camera kept moving past the same trees over and over and over.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: So the whole movie was basically just made in a room the size of a basketball court, but a bunch of adjacent rooms that they could move between.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: The tricky part about what we're doing with this is we're saying, take all this material and now extend it logically into a wider field of view so you can see up above you and behind you.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: So any scene in the movie that you've ever seen where you think, Oh, I saw a little glimpse of something really cool over there.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Well, now our goal is for you to feel like you're actually there, not looking at it through a screen at all.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Because when you sit inside the sphere, you feel like you're going someplace.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: So the idea was for us to remove in a sense the camera of the original movie and put the audience back on the set, except the set to become real.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: So anything that felt like it was painted, it becomes real by nature of experience, I guess, firsthand.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: So I could just put it back to you.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: What's your favorite part of The Wizard of Oz and where would you want to see?
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: You saw a glimpse of the wizard, that's pretty intense.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: I mean, I know the tornado scene was always, you know, creep me out when I was younger, and I can't I think about seeing in here and like how you know how it's gonna be pretty incredible.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: That's why it's experiential, right?
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: So from when you're sitting there, everything is in you as you look around as though you're actually there.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: The tornado is gonna be super intense.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it is.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: I'm excited for the tornado.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: And flying monkeys are also another popular well, unpopular if you're a child.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: We are definitely gonna have some new generations of nightmares.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: So you can tell some of those scenes, the way they're describing it, even looking at Jennifer's face, you're like, you can tell she's blown away.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: Oh, without a doubt.
- 18:25Sean McAllister: And also something we could tell is that they are coming up with something really wild for the tornado scene.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: Well, and we just heard him say, uh, there's gonna be a lot of new nightmares.
- 18:38Sean McAllister: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:39Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, that was because I even told you that movie used to creep me out.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: It creeps a lot of people out, but not everyone.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: Some people are like, what do you mean?
- 18:47Dayna Roselli: I love and it and it has that effect on you, but it's a it's not like a it creeps you out like you don't want to watch it kind of way.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: It's just it brings this whole alternate world and it when you're a kid, it's I don't know, you're fascinated by it.
- 19:02Sean McAllister: Well, and I think we haven't mentioned yet that during the movie there are going to be effects and 4D things happening.
- 19:11Sean McAllister: So when we were there, we felt the breeze.
- 19:14Sean McAllister: There was a breeze happening.
- 19:16Sean McAllister: There's different scents that happen inside of sphere.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: Your seat rumbles with with the bass of, you know, when the fire goes off, when they go in to see the wizard.
- 19:26Sean McAllister: And I mean, it is just I can't wait.
- 19:31Sean McAllister: I am so excited for it.
- 19:33Dayna Roselli: I mean, everyone's asking, when are tickets on sale?
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: How much are tickets?
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: You know, and we don't know yet.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: Tickets are not on sale at the time of recording today.
- 19:40Dayna Roselli: So um we will wait and see.
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: Again, they said end of August, it will be done.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: Uh fingers crossed.
- 19:48Dayna Roselli: They said we shouldn't even be here.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: Should we should be working?
- 19:50Dayna Roselli: They kept saying that, you know, over and over.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: But um, it's it's pretty cool what they're doing, and we look forward to it.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: That's for sure.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: It's something different.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, and there's people commenting on the TikTok, well, it didn't need to be done, and this and that.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: It's like, you know what, then don't go.
- 20:05Dayna Roselli: You know, because plenty of other people that's gonna sell out, I think, every single screening, without a doubt.
- 20:11Sean McAllister: Well, I think just the technological advancement uh that it's taken to pull this project together, and they're still pulling it together and coming up with new things to finish the film.
- 20:24Sean McAllister: So um it's I think that it is just going to be spectacular.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: It's not going to be the same experience of watching the original film.
- 20:35Sean McAllister: It'll be and you have to think of it that way.
- 20:38Sean McAllister: Like two totally different experiences.
- 20:40Sean McAllister: Right.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: But they are staying true, they they're keeping the film, like people are like, or is this like an adaptation?
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: Well, no.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: No, that's the film enhanced and brought to life, right?
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: Yes, more of it.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: That's a good way to put it.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, speaking of television, film, all that good stuff.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: If you love hacks, we do.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: It's a great show on Max.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: And um, you know, it started off in season one in Las Vegas.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: Most of the show has taken place in Las Vegas.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: They've been traveling around.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: Now they're in Los Angeles this season, but they are uh coming back to Vegas.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: And I know they did a lot of filming at the Fountain Blue.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: That episode drops uh tonight because the well, if you're listening to the podcast on April 17th, which is the day that we post them on a Thursday, uh that show debuts tonight, and then obviously it sits on there on Macs, but I'm excited to see what they do.
- 21:31Sean McAllister: I know.
- 21:31Sean McAllister: And Hacks, uh Lunel, the comedian down at Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club.
- 21:36Sean McAllister: Of course, she's all over the place too.
- 21:39Sean McAllister: Um, but she's had a recurring role and she's back this season.
- 21:43Sean McAllister: Um, we talked to her about that, and she just loves it and loves the success of the show.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: Um, so we are.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: We're glad that Hacks is back in Vegas.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: Emmy award winning show.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: It just keeps winning so many awards, and what a cast.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: The writing is great.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: So um according to the Fountain Blue, we're gonna see, let's see, uh scenes throughout the resort, including the casino floor, oasis pool, blue bar, live Las Vegas, and many more.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: So it should be good.
- 22:13Sean McAllister: All right.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: I'm excited for that.
- 22:15Sean McAllister: And Hacks, of course, streams on Macs.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you can watch it there.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: And if you haven't, I sometimes I'll I'll say to people, like, you haven't watched Hacks, like, what are you crazy?
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: Well, I and I get it.
- 22:26Sean McAllister: At first, the first season, I stopped halfway because I was like, all right, it was getting a little, and everyone's like, no, no, no, and I kept going, and it just it's such a good show, and you have to well, and especially if you're a Las Vegas lover, like if you if you like Las Vegas, just stay with it because there are so many, like when Carrot Top makes an appearance, right?
- 22:45Sean McAllister: Like there's so many like funny Vegas moments throughout the the episode.
- 22:52Sean McAllister: So I think that if for no other reason, watch it for the the Vegas stuff.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: Well, and Deborah Vance is a relatable character on that show when it comes to Vegas.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: She is a longtime headliner that now has to a little bit either go with the times, reinvent herself, or not stay true to what she believes in.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: So and then how that will go in her journey.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: I love it so much.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: Before we head to tips, want to give a big shout out to our title sponsor, Galindo Law.

- 23:46Sean McAllister: All right, let's get to our tips.
- 23:52Sean McAllister: All right, up first this week, uh the immersive Van Gogh.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: This is an exhibit over at the Lighthouse Art Space inside Crystals Shops over there on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 24:02Sean McAllister: This is one of those experiences where you go inside and the projections are all over the wall, and van the paintings of Van Gogh come to life all around you.
- 24:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I remember shooting this and when when they announced they were opening, and I didn't realize it's actually been a while.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: I remember we had masks on back then.
- 24:20Sean McAllister: We did.
- 24:20Sean McAllister: Right?
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: When we went over and did that interview.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it's been around a long time.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: People love it, so that's why they're doing this new edition, giving us something new.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: Um, it's called uh the new immersive Van Gogh, the next chapter.
- 24:32Dayna Roselli: It opened April 7th, so it's good to go.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: It's located over there on level three, right at the shops at Crystals, like Sean said.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: And you can go to vangogas.com for more information.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: But uh yeah, like Sean also said, the digital projections on the wall, uh, you're gonna see over 300 of Van Gogh's masterpieces, and it's all set to this captivating soundtrack.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: I remember when we went, people were sitting on the ground and just relaxing and taking it in, or you know, standing there and walking around and taking some pictures of themselves with the paintings behind them.
- 25:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, and especially with the the summer months coming, you might be looking for a little bit of a break from the Las Vegas heat.
- 25:12Sean McAllister: And this is one of those options that's really enjoyable.
- 25:17Sean McAllister: So again, it is the new immersive Van Gogh, the next chapter over there at the Crystals shops.
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: Hey, you and I went to the M recently because we had a break uh during a project that we were shooting down in Southern Highland, and we said, where can we get something quick to eat or whatever?
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: So we said, Hey, what about the patio at M?
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: We talked about this.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: It is a new restaurant and bar open right next to the pool area.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: I believe it's just open in the evening.
- 25:45Dayna Roselli: I'm not don't quote me on that, but I remember last time we did it, I believe it's more of a or a midday to evening type thing.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: But anyway, we walked in there and absolutely loved it on a Friday night.
- 25:56Sean McAllister: First of all, the pool at the M is just so pretty anyway.
- 26:01Sean McAllister: Just looking out over that pool deck at night with the lights on.
- 26:05Sean McAllister: Um, but the patio area has its own, you know, tables and bar and lights.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: Colored lights, the colored lights.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: I love the colored lights.
- 26:16Sean McAllister: TVs out there.
- 26:18Sean McAllister: So if you if there's a game on, especially now with the golden knights heading into the Stanley Cup playoffs.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: I mean again.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: Here's the deal, you guys.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: We were like one of like four people in there, and we thought, okay, not enough people know about this.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: It needs to be busier.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: So we figured we would spread the word.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: And we were talking to the bartender, and he said, Yeah, we're still new.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, Why?
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: And it was a beautiful night.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: Why isn't everyone sitting on this patio?
- 26:41Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 26:42Sean McAllister: It was so relaxing, so nice with a breeze coming through there.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 26:48Sean McAllister: We were talking about, we were like, you know what?
- 26:50Sean McAllister: We need to let people know about this place because it's great.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: It really, it really is great.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited that it's open and it's good to go.
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: We want to let you know about it.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: We're definitely gonna go back there.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: Actually, we should have gone.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: That's what we should have done for your birthday.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: Today's Sean's birthday, by the way.
- 27:05Dayna Roselli: Uh, when this drops, April 17th.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: It's not really because um it's Monday, but this podcast posts on April 17th.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: So it's like so it's like it's your birthday.
- 27:14Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, that it yeah, that would be a good spot for a celebration with friends.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: Very casual, but a little elevated.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, nice.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: It is, yeah.
- 27:23Dayna Roselli: Right, you know, in the scenery with the pool there.
- 27:25Dayna Roselli: So loved it.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, M Resort though.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: While we were also there, we noticed, you know what?
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: They get a lot of good acts over there to perform poolside.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: So we thought we would mention that as a tip as well.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: The wall, and and I this is more for our generation.
- 27:40Sean McAllister: I mean, I like all of these bands, all of these acts that you're about to reveal, yeah.
- 27:46Dayna Roselli: Solos, yeah.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: Train is coming May 3rd.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: Okay, always good.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: Great live.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: The Wallflowers coming August 29th.
- 27:55Dayna Roselli: That's gonna be great.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: And then Ludacris, June 7th.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: Luda.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: And we saw him at F1 perform right outside the sphere.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: He was great.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: And now you can go over and see him poolside at the M.
- 28:06Sean McAllister: Those are some great acts.
- 28:08Sean McAllister: Now, if you don't know where the M is, it is south, way south on Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 28:16Sean McAllister: So if you drive south on the strip and just keep going and going and going for a long time, for a long time, you'll see it on the left.
- 28:25Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, and it's near Southern Highlands.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: It's also right off the highway.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: So if you take the 15 south, you literally get off, turn left.
- 28:33Sean McAllister: Or if you're coming in from Southern California, it's like the first casino you see driving into town.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: The m resort.com.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: Hey, by the way, correction the wallflowers.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: I don't know if I said they were poolside.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: They're actually at the M Pavilion Friday, August 29th.
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: Uh, okay I think train and ludicrous are doing the poolside.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: So there you have it.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, what a great spot.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: It is.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: Love it.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: Well, thanks for joining us.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: I think that was a lot.
- 28:57Dayna Roselli: We're still uh our mind is blown by the Wizard of Oz clips we saw.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: So we really wanted to deep dive into that today.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: And we hope that we answered some questions.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: I know it's difficult for us to explain.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: We aren't techies.
- 29:08Sean McAllister: So here's the thing we have a link down in our show notes where you can text us uh any questions.
- 29:14Sean McAllister: So if you're listening to that conversation and you're like, but wait, I want to know more about that, or I need something, uh, can you clarify that?
- 29:22Sean McAllister: Let us know, and we'll look at all those uh responses, and we'll have that uh we'll have that for you next episode.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: Definitely, definitely.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: All right, we're off to see the wizard.
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: Bye.
