- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York Kate still Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: Simone Show on seven tenor.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hey, it's gonna be really hot today ninety five, a
- 0:14Speaker 2: heath wave day to day, and then tomorrow in the
- 0:17Speaker 2: ninety and then the rest of the weekend sixties. All right,
- 0:21Speaker 2: all right, it's Memorial Day weekend coming up. A lot
- 0:23Speaker 2: to get to today. Corruption scandal with Donald Trump, not really,
- 0:29Speaker 2: it's an MSNBC generated fake one. We'll get to that
- 0:32Speaker 2: in a few minutes. We'll get to the l r R.
- 0:34Speaker 2: We'll get to Iran, We'll get to Colbert. A whole
- 0:38Speaker 2: lot more coming up. The R strike devastating for a
- 0:42Speaker 2: lot of people. Caused nightmare commutes yesterday for people on
- 0:47Speaker 2: Long Island trying to get into the city. You had
- 0:50Speaker 2: to take driver or take an uber to get to
- 0:54Speaker 2: the Queen's Place, where we could take a shuttle bus.
- 0:56Speaker 2: They had a lot of shuttle buses, but the traffic
- 0:59Speaker 2: was so brutal it is normally on the Long Island Railroad,
- 1:03Speaker 2: but it was even more so, and it was so
- 1:05Speaker 2: brutal it would take almost two hours just to get
- 1:08Speaker 2: to Queen's where you had to get on a train.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And then it's been another hour, so it was two
- 1:12Speaker 2: and a half hour, three and a half hour commutes
- 1:14Speaker 2: for a lot of people, and this morning's rush hour
- 1:17Speaker 2: looked like the same thing. Now they've settled the strike,
- 1:21Speaker 2: but the trains won't resume full service until this afternoon.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And remember it's Kathy Hochel, it's Jano Lieber, the awful
- 1:31Speaker 2: MTA commissioners, who knows if they'll be on time. But
- 1:34Speaker 2: supposedly you'll have a normal commute home on the Long
- 1:38Speaker 2: Island Railroad today. They settled it. They will not disclose
- 1:42Speaker 2: any terms. The governor will not say anything. They will
- 1:47Speaker 2: just say they're going to pay a fair wage. Now
- 1:48Speaker 2: what does that mean. Why would they not reveal anything, Well,
- 1:52Speaker 2: they say they have to wait till the members vote.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a valdxcuse. It could be
- 1:58Speaker 2: that they Hochel saw the political damage it was doing
- 2:02Speaker 2: to her and that it was going to cost her
- 2:04Speaker 2: a lot of votes. It just caved in on everything.
- 2:06Speaker 2: We'll see when we get the numbers. But Kathy hochl.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Now the Long Island service we were all reservice resumed
- 2:13Speaker 3: tomorrow at noon with the full service time expected time
- 2:17Speaker 3: for an evening rush hour and yes, in time for
- 2:20Speaker 3: the next game.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so this is yesually she means tonight. Tonight, actually
- 2:25Speaker 2: at noon, she claims it'll resume, so it should be
- 2:27Speaker 2: okay by the evening rush.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Number one, protecting affordability for long Islanders and commuters while
- 2:34Speaker 3: giving fair wages to the employees, and by working and
- 2:38Speaker 3: negotiating together.
- 2:40Speaker 4: We haven't reached that kind of deal.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Well, they say it was five different union heads, but
- 2:44Speaker 2: they say they're all good. They worked as a team,
- 2:46Speaker 2: so they got it done. She always likes to talk
- 2:48Speaker 2: about affordability. Meantime, she's raising your taxes, your property taxes.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Congestion pricing. That was the funniest thing in all of this,
- 2:55Speaker 2: where they said, well, at least you'll shut off the
- 2:57Speaker 2: congestion pricing during the train strike because many people who
- 3:00Speaker 2: wouldn't drive are forced to drive. And they it was
- 3:03Speaker 2: the dumbest explanation, This jeno liber this pompous ass who
- 3:07Speaker 2: runs the MTA.
- 3:08Speaker 5: We can't just turn it on and off. That's not
- 3:11Speaker 5: in our power. And I understand it's an election year
- 3:14Speaker 5: and there's politics and people want to make an issue
- 3:18Speaker 5: of that, but congestion pricing is being used to invest
- 3:22Speaker 5: in the system to make him modern.
- 3:25Speaker 2: No, it's not, and he's just full of crap. Of course,
- 3:27Speaker 2: you could turn it on and off. How do you
- 3:29Speaker 2: think it came on? They turned it on. It's a switch.
- 3:32Speaker 2: You could turn it off. You can shut down the
- 3:34Speaker 2: congestion pricing. Bruce Blakeman, who should be the next governor.
- 3:37Speaker 6: But it's so disingenuous to say that the governor doesn't
- 3:41Speaker 6: have the power to pause it during the strike. The
- 3:43Speaker 6: governor does have the power to pause it. It was
- 3:46Speaker 6: a bad idea to begin with, but it's a terrible
- 3:48Speaker 6: idea to do it during a strike when people have
- 3:51Speaker 6: no choice but to drive into the city.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's just ridiculously phony. You can't trust this
- 3:58Speaker 2: general lee where you certainly can't try. Kathy Hokel can't
- 4:02Speaker 2: turn off the congestion pricing. So hey, Iran, look like
- 4:07Speaker 2: bombing would resume. In fact, when it does resume, I
- 4:11Speaker 2: hearing it's going to be different than before. It's going
- 4:14Speaker 2: to be much more extensive. The terms being used are
- 4:18Speaker 2: full throttle, full throttle bombing of Iran. They're going to
- 4:21Speaker 2: take out a lot of stuff now, they're going to
- 4:23Speaker 2: take out certain railroad lines because straight oh hor Moose
- 4:29Speaker 2: shut that's where Iran exports its oil, that's where it
- 4:31Speaker 2: makes its money. But apparently there are train lines that
- 4:35Speaker 2: they can send oil to the other end of Iran
- 4:37Speaker 2: and that way can go to China. The problem is
- 4:39Speaker 2: you can't do a lot of oil on a train.
- 4:41Speaker 2: You can a tremendous amount on those big ships. By train.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It's very slow, but you can get some out. But
- 4:47Speaker 2: they're apparently going to take out those train tracks, so
- 4:50Speaker 2: it'll be absolutely no revenue possibly at all for Iran.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Now there's a pause. The president asked by other countries.
- 4:59Speaker 7: I was asked by Saudi Arabia, Guitar Yue and some
- 5:03Speaker 7: others if we could put it off for two or
- 5:05Speaker 7: three days, a short period of time, because they think
- 5:08Speaker 7: that they are getting very close to making a deal.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Well, now, so all you're hearing today is Taco Trump.
- 5:14Speaker 2: He chickened out. You know, they'll attack him. If he
- 5:16Speaker 2: doesn't attack, they'll attack him. If he does attack, you
- 5:20Speaker 2: can't win. So if you watch a good Parameters, you
- 5:24Speaker 2: watch that crazy morning show every morning to see where
- 5:27Speaker 2: they are, see what they they did. The whole purpose
- 5:30Speaker 2: of the show, the network, everything is just to make
- 5:32Speaker 2: it look like Trump is the most evil, awful, corrupt, crooked,
- 5:35Speaker 2: disgusting human being on earth. So if there's something bad
- 5:38Speaker 2: that he's done, they'll hit that all morning. If there's
- 5:41Speaker 2: nothing bad that he's done, they'll make up something. So
- 5:44Speaker 2: this morning was pretty funny. They've unveiled a big corruption scandal.
- 5:49Speaker 2: They did a whole half hour on how Donald Trump
- 5:52Speaker 2: is trading stocks and profiting off them. You're laughing already
- 5:58Speaker 2: because this is what they do in Congress. How Nancy
- 6:01Speaker 2: Pelosi went from nothing to eight hundred million. This is
- 6:04Speaker 2: how all of these senators and congressmen and women get
- 6:07Speaker 2: very wealthy insider trading because they know ahead of time
- 6:11Speaker 2: about government rulings, about FDA testing, They get a preview
- 6:16Speaker 2: of everything, you know, what new laws are comment so
- 6:18Speaker 2: they can make a fortune. So they went after Donald
- 6:20Speaker 2: Trump for this, But if you start to look at
- 6:23Speaker 2: the details, apparently he bought some stock in Dell computers,
- 6:28Speaker 2: and then they showed clips of him. Then all of
- 6:31Speaker 2: a sudden, he's out there talking about how great Dell is.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Dell computers. Oh that's pretty suspicious, isn't it. And the stock,
- 6:38Speaker 2: sure enough, it did go up. But they didn't really
- 6:41Speaker 2: make clear that all of a sudden, Michael Dell got
- 6:44Speaker 2: involved with Trump, got involved with the Trump administration, donated
- 6:48Speaker 2: hundreds of millions, donate a fortune for student student loans
- 6:53Speaker 2: to take care of I mean, you really did a great,
- 6:55Speaker 2: great public service. Came to the White House a number
- 6:58Speaker 2: of times, and the president. You know, when you spend
- 7:02Speaker 2: time with these guys, you really learn about their company
- 7:04Speaker 2: and what they're doing. And so he did buy some stock,
- 7:07Speaker 2: but they failed to point out on MSNBC he bought
- 7:10Speaker 2: maybe the tiniest amount of stock he's ever bought in
- 7:13Speaker 2: his life. It was that tiny, tiny amount. It was
- 7:17Speaker 2: enough to say he had bought the stock, but it
- 7:19Speaker 2: was like fifty thousand in stock. Now, for a guy
- 7:21Speaker 2: like Trump, a normal buy is five million, or you know,
- 7:25Speaker 2: when you're worth eleven billion, a fifty thousand dollars stock
- 7:29Speaker 2: buy is like two cents. It's like absolutely nothing. So
- 7:33Speaker 2: even if he even in the stock tripled, it wouldn't
- 7:35Speaker 2: make enough money to make any difference in his in
- 7:40Speaker 2: his portfolio. It just wouldn't. You know, when you're Warren Buffett,
- 7:43Speaker 2: you'll if you're gonna buy a stock, you'll buy twenty
- 7:46Speaker 2: billion worth of stock, and that's a normal buy. You'll
- 7:49Speaker 2: buy fifteen billion. So if Warren Buffett announced it he
- 7:53Speaker 2: bought a stock and then you find out it was
- 7:55Speaker 2: twenty five thousand, it doesn't mean much of anything. Now
- 7:58Speaker 2: they're also trying to say that this fun and that
- 8:02Speaker 2: the president wants to set up. He had a lawsuit
- 8:05Speaker 2: going against the IRS and he was absolutely gonna win
- 8:09Speaker 2: this lawsuit. You remember a way back when during the
- 8:12Speaker 2: campaign they leaked his tax returns, Well, he was suing
- 8:16Speaker 2: them for leaking his tax returns. That is absolutely totally immoral, unethical,
- 8:22Speaker 2: disgusting for the IRS to leak to reporters your tax returns.
- 8:27Speaker 2: You just can't do that. Well, now they'll say, well
- 8:30Speaker 2: it was a third party contractor. It doesn't matter. It's
- 8:33Speaker 2: somebody employed by the IRS. It's an IRS person. They're
- 8:36Speaker 2: responsible for the contractors. So he had a massive lawsuit
- 8:40Speaker 2: for hundreds of millions going here, which he would have
- 8:41Speaker 2: won easily. There was no way on earth he was
- 8:44Speaker 2: going to lose that lawsuit. So he's decided to drop
- 8:47Speaker 2: it in exchange for setting up a government fund that
- 8:52Speaker 2: will pay back whistleblowers, and not whistleblowers will pay back
- 8:56Speaker 2: victims who are victims of government weaponization. And there's a
- 9:02Speaker 2: lot of them. Some of the January sixth people and
- 9:03Speaker 2: now some of them beat up cops or did something,
- 9:06Speaker 2: but a lot of them did absolutely nothing, weren't even
- 9:08Speaker 2: in the building, and then were thrown in jail for
- 9:11Speaker 2: ten years in solitary and many of them, and it's
- 9:15Speaker 2: not just January sixth, it's a million other things. If
- 9:17Speaker 2: you were targeted by the evil Merrick Garland, the sleazy
- 9:21Speaker 2: Attorney General, or the dirty Joe Biden Justice Department, you
- 9:26Speaker 2: were targeted and then you were cleared, nothing happened, you
- 9:30Speaker 2: still ended up Bankrupty took Roger Stone, He's a perfect example,
- 9:33Speaker 2: did absolutely nothing wrong, was targeted by the Biden administration
- 9:39Speaker 2: and these sturdy prosecutors. They did the most massive raid
- 9:44Speaker 2: on his front lawn. You know, he and his wife.
- 9:46Speaker 2: They are an older couple. They're totally harmless. If you
- 9:49Speaker 2: can arrest them. In every other case in the history
- 9:51Speaker 2: of the world, you tell their attorney to surrender them
- 9:54Speaker 2: at nine o'clock at the courthouse or whatever. But instead
- 9:58Speaker 2: they launched a normandy INVASI should ride up his front lawn.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Tanks literally tanks helicopters, boats. It was like a two
- 10:07Speaker 2: point something million dollar raid. They invited CNN cameras to
- 10:11Speaker 2: and it was absolutely ridiculous. Now Stone did nothing wrong,
- 10:14Speaker 2: he was totally cleared, but in the process he was
- 10:17Speaker 2: totally bankrupted. They took his house, they took all his money,
- 10:21Speaker 2: they took his car, they took everything, went totally broke,
- 10:24Speaker 2: lost everything. So that's what this fund is for somebody
- 10:27Speaker 2: like that who was targeted. And just just now, you
- 10:31Speaker 2: could also put in Don Junior, Eric and the Trump Organization,
- 10:35Speaker 2: but they have said they will they will not submit
- 10:39Speaker 2: for any compensation. They're not going to take part in
- 10:41Speaker 2: this fund. Believe it or not. Hunter Biden could be
- 10:44Speaker 2: eligible because they did go after him for weapons charges,
- 10:47Speaker 2: drug charges, so he could get some money. Now, they'll
- 10:50Speaker 2: be a panel that'll look at each case decide if
- 10:53Speaker 2: you're owed monetary relief and if not, in some cases
- 10:57Speaker 2: you might be owed an apology. The president is going
- 10:59Speaker 2: to be owed an apology in a number of cases.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Even the documents rate at mar A Lago turned out
- 11:04Speaker 2: there weren't any classified documents. Those boxes, the pictures they
- 11:08Speaker 2: showed you were just regular presidential papers. They did find
- 11:12Speaker 2: thirty five classified documents. Nothing significant, But thirty five classified
- 11:17Speaker 2: documents is one inch in a folder. So those hundreds
- 11:22Speaker 2: and hundreds and hundreds of boxes, those were not classified documents.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Now they're going to tell you the idea of this
- 11:28Speaker 2: fund is totally corrupt, totally illegal, unheard of. It's been
- 11:32Speaker 2: done before, It's been done many times. The Obama administration
- 11:36Speaker 2: did it. They set up almost a billion dollar compensation
- 11:39Speaker 2: fund for It's a long story, but there was a
- 11:42Speaker 2: class action lawsuit Native Americans farmers who were abused by
- 11:46Speaker 2: the government. Obama set up a fund to pay them back.
- 11:49Speaker 2: But the good thing about this fund, I think another
- 11:51Speaker 2: reason the president does this. You know how you want
- 11:53Speaker 2: to play with the dog, and for no reason at all,
- 11:55Speaker 2: you just take this bone and you throw it all
- 11:57Speaker 2: the way over there. The dog runs over and brings
- 11:58Speaker 2: it back. And then for no reason at all, just
- 12:02Speaker 2: throw it back over there, and the dog runs over
- 12:04Speaker 2: and brings it back. That the president does that with
- 12:05Speaker 2: the Democrats. Just throw something over there, let him go
- 12:09Speaker 2: chase that. So he's got them all the morning. Joe,
- 12:12Speaker 2: his glasses were all steaming up this morning. He was
- 12:15Speaker 2: so mad. They're all mad about this fund, and it
- 12:18Speaker 2: gives U a Schumer with the new big glasses. Now
- 12:21Speaker 2: Schumer's got something to yell about.
- 12:23Speaker 8: Of all the corrupt things Donald Trump has done, this
- 12:27Speaker 8: MAGA slush fund at the Department of Justice is one
- 12:30Speaker 8: of the most depraved. Trump is shaking hands with himself
- 12:36Speaker 8: in order to fund his insurrection insurrectionist army to the
- 12:40Speaker 8: tune of two billion, of tune of billions of dollars.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Do you hear how outraged this guy is. He's so
- 12:47Speaker 2: outraged that he didn't even have anything to say. He
- 12:49Speaker 2: had like an intern type this up. He has these
- 12:52Speaker 2: little junior people write the speech, write these words, put
- 12:55Speaker 2: him on index cards, and he puts on his big
- 12:57Speaker 2: glasses and his cheap suit, and he's stands at a
- 13:00Speaker 2: podium and he reads it to you. But he doesn't
- 13:03Speaker 2: even You know, if I had to do that, I
- 13:05Speaker 2: would go over it a whole bunch of times so
- 13:08Speaker 2: I didn't have to read it, so I could pretty
- 13:09Speaker 2: much say it. I might have to cheat and take
- 13:11Speaker 2: a look down to remember the next line. But he
- 13:14Speaker 2: doesn't bother even on the way over in the car,
- 13:16Speaker 2: doesn't even look at it at the time, just gets
- 13:18Speaker 2: up at the podium. This is the most descretive you
- 13:22Speaker 2: can tell he's reading it. There's no passion, no feel
- 13:25Speaker 2: of all.
- 13:26Speaker 8: The corrupt things Donald Trump is done. This Maga slush
- 13:31Speaker 8: fund at the Department of Justice is one of the
- 13:33Speaker 8: most depraved. Trump is shaking hands.
- 13:37Speaker 2: So he does these things. He reads the index cards,
- 13:39Speaker 2: then he's done, and then as he walks away, dumps
- 13:42Speaker 2: it in the waste basket and forget and that's it.
- 13:45Speaker 2: And then his staff tries to get him on any
- 13:47Speaker 2: TV show that he can get on. Everybody says no,
- 13:51Speaker 2: nobody wants to Adam Shift a little more colorful. Shumer
- 13:56Speaker 2: is like just a slow, unplayed and sort of a guy.
- 14:00Speaker 2: So whenever you see you know you might see him
- 14:03Speaker 2: on the Sunday shows this week the only time he
- 14:04Speaker 2: ever gets on. When you're doing these Sunday shows on
- 14:08Speaker 2: Memorial Day weekend, everybody goes away. Normally, they're all in Washington, DC.
- 14:13Speaker 2: You could get a lot of pretty much whoever you
- 14:15Speaker 2: want to be on your Sunday show because they're in Washington,
- 14:19Speaker 2: d C. It's only ten minutes away to go to
- 14:22Speaker 2: your studio. But Memorial Day weekend, everybody is gone. Everybody's
- 14:27Speaker 2: away it happens like the second part of this week
- 14:32Speaker 2: is going to have every TV show the host is off,
- 14:36Speaker 2: the guests. Your regular guests are all gone, so you
- 14:38Speaker 2: try to get anybody so you might see Schumer on
- 14:40Speaker 2: some Sunday shows. Everybody's gone. That's the only way he
- 14:43Speaker 2: ever gets on. Hey, we got a lot to get
- 14:46Speaker 2: to coming up. We'll take some.
- 14:48Speaker 9: Oh.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I also want to mention a couple times throughout the show.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Tuesday Night, big rally in front of Gracie Mansion. It's
- 14:57Speaker 2: defend the Jews, stop the anti Semitism. Stop Mom Donnie's
- 15:02Speaker 2: anti semitism. You might want to get involved in this.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Let me see here. It's Tuesday night, seven o'clock. They're
- 15:10Speaker 2: gonna do it in front of Gracy Mansion.
- 15:11Speaker 9: You have.
- 15:12Speaker 2: All you got to do is show up seven o'clock
- 15:13Speaker 2: Tuesday night, Gracie Mansion. Uh, it's a protest mom Donnie
- 15:18Speaker 2: over his anti semitism. I know a lot of people
- 15:20Speaker 2: that are going to this, not just crazy protest types,
- 15:23Speaker 2: but doctors, lawyers, A lot of people are are going
- 15:26Speaker 2: and say feel very strongly about speaking up here if
- 15:29Speaker 2: you want to the problem is they're not. I don't
- 15:31Speaker 2: think they have a website. It's if you go on Instagram,
- 15:34Speaker 2: go to end jew Hatred. It's all one word, end
- 15:39Speaker 2: jew Hatred. They have an Instagram account, but apparently they've
- 15:42Speaker 2: already They think they got seven hundred people. It's Tuesday night,
- 15:45Speaker 2: seven o'clock, Gracy Mansion. You can just show up. Hey,
- 15:48Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three to two
- 15:51Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 15:55Speaker 2: to two one zero seven ten.

- 16:02Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app for his live show and his podcast.

- 16:23Speaker 12: You filled them through.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Tony explained. People say, how are you? They don't really
- 16:31Speaker 2: want to know, They just it's just in the ark.
- 16:34Speaker 2: How are you?
- 16:35Speaker 10: You filled them Handy last Friday because he was in
- 16:38Speaker 10: China with the President.
- 16:40Speaker 12: Yeah, and render your co host.
- 16:43Speaker 10: We would recommend a dentist. Oh, I think it's a
- 16:47Speaker 10: seventy second street.
- 16:48Speaker 2: You got a bad dental problem.
- 16:50Speaker 10: Yeah, that's why it's killing me. I'm maybe six years old.
- 16:55Speaker 10: My your fa teeth, I can't take the paint. And
- 17:00Speaker 10: did she recommended somebody from step seventy second Street.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll tell you what. Send me an email, go
- 17:07Speaker 2: to mark Simone dot com. That's my website.
- 17:10Speaker 12: I don't I don't have my I don't have that
- 17:13Speaker 12: with me.
- 17:14Speaker 10: I have it in Jersey.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Oh you don't have a computer. Because I don't have
- 17:19Speaker 2: my idea. I would have to ask Linda. I would
- 17:22Speaker 2: have to email and get it.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Oh oh right, well you know what else?
- 17:25Speaker 12: Then I call him up? Is it the same number?
- 17:27Speaker 2: Who?
- 17:29Speaker 10: Uh?
- 17:30Speaker 12: Kennedy?
- 17:31Speaker 2: Uh no, no, uh? Figure out a way to send
- 17:35Speaker 2: me an email or send the station an email. I'll
- 17:37Speaker 2: ask Linda who.
- 17:39Speaker 9: The m oh right?
- 17:40Speaker 11: Again?
- 17:40Speaker 10: Getting back to the to the anti semitism for Tuesday. Yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 10: you said, is that the week from today?
- 17:48Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 17:48Speaker 2: Look how you figured that out? Wow, sharpest attack.
- 17:51Speaker 10: Well I was listen to you before, and I just
- 17:53Speaker 10: wanted to make sure I got the right time, something
- 17:56Speaker 10: like seven o'clock.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah, seven o'clock Tuesday.
- 18:00Speaker 12: Okay, because they would right cross the street from Graci
- 18:03Speaker 12: you do. Oh, thank you? Anyway, I appreciate I'll try.
- 18:05Speaker 2: To get good luck email than you. Thanks. There are
- 18:12Speaker 2: people if you said just email me, they have no
- 18:14Speaker 2: idea how to email you. They wouldn't know how to
- 18:16Speaker 2: do it. Anyway, Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike,
- 18:19Speaker 2: how you doing. Good morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 18:22Speaker 9: I noticed that schmuck Schumer didn't mention the congressional slush
- 18:27Speaker 9: fund for all these sexual abuse cases. They have that tiny, neat,
- 18:31Speaker 9: little fun they have to protect them.
- 18:33Speaker 2: That's a good point. They do have a massive fund,
- 18:37Speaker 2: that massive fund where they pay off the victims that
- 18:41Speaker 2: were sexually harassed by members of Congress.
- 18:44Speaker 9: Yea, how how what a coincidence?
- 18:47Speaker 4: I don't think is?
- 18:48Speaker 9: I wonder if he'll be at that rally on Tuesday,
- 18:51Speaker 9: or for that matter, AOC or Corey Booker. Who would
- 18:55Speaker 9: you know? They managed to get down to sell Alabama
- 18:57Speaker 9: over the weekend to scream like maniacs. But wonder if
- 19:00Speaker 9: they'll be out in front of Grazy Mansion supporting you know.
- 19:03Speaker 12: A.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Guaranteed no. If there's ever an anti Semitism problem, Schumer
- 19:09Speaker 2: is runs and hides. You will never see him. Schumer
- 19:12Speaker 2: is one of those guys always there when you don't
- 19:14Speaker 2: need him, never there when you need him. That's Schumer,
- 19:17Speaker 2: h Anti.
- 19:18Speaker 9: It's incredible. He ought to be ashamed. I know that
- 19:20Speaker 9: these guys don't have any shame, but jeez, it's amazing.
- 19:23Speaker 2: All right, thanks for calling my I guess Schumer's just
- 19:25Speaker 2: a horrible, horrible, maybe the worst representative you could possibly have.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Remember the horrible anti Semitism going on in Columbia, the
- 19:32Speaker 2: harassment of Jews. Schumer was nowhere to be found. He
- 19:35Speaker 2: ran and hid any anti Semitism here. He'll run and hide.
- 19:40Speaker 12: Uh.
- 19:40Speaker 2: He only shows up when there's something in it for him.
- 19:42Speaker 2: He's never there to help you. Let's go to Kenny
- 19:45Speaker 2: and White Plains. Kenny, how you doing.
- 19:48Speaker 11: I'm nobody's mentioned it. Tommy Robinson in London, the great
- 19:52Speaker 11: speech he gave Saturday London. People in England are prayed.
- 19:56Speaker 11: They're scared of being invaded again by the Third World,
- 19:59Speaker 11: and Tommy Robinson, he's speaking up. You guys.
- 20:01Speaker 12: Don't mention it, all right?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. What happened to our call it now?
- 20:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna get the most the brightest call is. It's
- 20:08Speaker 2: a whole different crop today. Let's go to rich In
- 20:11Speaker 2: Myrtle beach. Here's a normal person.
- 20:15Speaker 12: You know he's he is right though, because we were
- 20:17Speaker 12: in London last last year in August for the Magical
- 20:21Speaker 12: Mystery to a Beatles tour and the people are up
- 20:23Speaker 12: in arms over there. Nigel Faraj is getting beaten to
- 20:26Speaker 12: death on the press, just like they beat Trump up.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeh, but he's way ahead in the polls, way ahead.
- 20:31Speaker 12: That's right, that's right.
- 20:33Speaker 2: You know, before before you get to that, what is
- 20:36Speaker 2: on this magical Mystery tour?
- 20:39Speaker 12: Oh? So this was run by a friend of yours,
- 20:41Speaker 12: Charles Rosenary. He says he's known you for a long time, Charles.
- 20:46Speaker 9: Yeah, and he's been running what's that?
- 20:48Speaker 2: Never heard of him? Who is he?
- 20:50Speaker 9: Oh?
- 20:50Speaker 12: Well, he said he knows you, but he's he used
- 20:53Speaker 12: the book guests You many many years ago. But he's
- 20:55Speaker 12: been running the Charles be Tour.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Charles I never heard of and I know if he had,
- 21:02Speaker 2: he wasn't a guest booker.
- 21:03Speaker 12: Yeah. So for forty two years he puts together these
- 21:05Speaker 12: tours that includes airfare from Kennedy and and going to
- 21:09Speaker 12: London and Liverpool for International Beatlefest. And we got you
- 21:12Speaker 12: got to go to John Lennon's home and Paul's home,
- 21:15Speaker 12: and you go to shows every single night. It really
- 21:17Speaker 12: is a great tour. We had a great time. But
- 21:19Speaker 12: last year we went the street shop on arms. I
- 21:20Speaker 12: called because they saw Bill o'wiley say the same thing
- 21:24Speaker 12: yes last night, that I've spoken to you about on
- 21:27Speaker 12: the phone in the past, about how Trump should investigate
- 21:30Speaker 12: your companies because we're produced, like you said, fourteen bolls
- 21:33Speaker 12: of oil million dollars a day, more than half of it, doll'
- 21:37Speaker 12: wiley is being shipped overseas and not even staying in
- 21:39Speaker 12: this country.
- 21:40Speaker 2: All right, But here's the deal. Here's the deal. That's
- 21:43Speaker 2: some people say there's no reason.
- 21:44Speaker 4: To raise it.
- 21:45Speaker 11: It goes on today.
- 21:45Speaker 12: You could ask them about it.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but here's the problem. There's no reason to raise
- 21:48Speaker 2: the oil prices. We could have kept them right where
- 21:50Speaker 2: they are, because that's right. But they do raise it
- 21:53Speaker 2: to match the price around the world. They just do
- 21:56Speaker 2: it to match it. Now, you could, you could ban
- 21:58Speaker 2: him from doing that, you could not allow him to
- 22:00Speaker 2: doing that. But they'll just they'll just drill less, they'll
- 22:03Speaker 2: produce less oil. Yeah, that'll raise the price.
- 22:06Speaker 12: While he was saying they should investigate him, like you know,
- 22:08Speaker 12: they're investigating Kimmel and ABC and do with that kind
- 22:11Speaker 12: of thing. Just go in and say, what the heck's going?
- 22:13Speaker 12: You know, I saw this morning and Fox Fox do
- 22:16Speaker 12: they wait behind that Massy guy in Kentucky by having
- 22:18Speaker 12: you know, the Trump haters on Carl Robe, Dana Prino,
- 22:22Speaker 12: Bill Hammer. They're not big Trump fans, and they bought
- 22:24Speaker 12: Massy on Fox News this morning. So Fox is even
- 22:27Speaker 12: throwing the hat in the ring to get this guy
- 22:28Speaker 12: Massy reelected in the primary.
- 22:30Speaker 2: You know, yeah, I don't think he'll make it though,
- 22:31Speaker 2: they you know, they tried that with the Cassidy and
- 22:33Speaker 2: it didn't work. I don't think it'll work this time.
- 22:36Speaker 2: All right, Mike, Hey, what's the temperature in Florida? Oh
- 22:39Speaker 2: you're in Myrtle Beach. You're in Myrtle Beach Beach. What's
- 22:42Speaker 2: the temperature there?
- 22:44Speaker 12: It's only going to be eighty three today, so it's
- 22:45Speaker 12: actually hotter up there than down here.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, well thanks for calling. Yeah, it's gonna
- 22:49Speaker 2: be brutal today. If you thought it was hot yesterday,
- 22:52Speaker 2: hotter today, brutal heat today, So just be careful of that.
- 22:57Speaker 10: Uh.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Hey, when we come back, we'll get to Roger Friedman,
- 23:00Speaker 2: the Great Entertainment Reporter, wants to talk to him about
- 23:04Speaker 2: you see that Bruce Springsteen snubbing Chris Christy, Well, I
- 23:08Speaker 2: think they Well, we'll get the whole story coming up
- 23:10Speaker 2: on seven to ten w.
- 23:12Speaker 3: O R News breaks out in every show Mark Simone
- 23:16Speaker 3: on seven ten w oor.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Well Roger Friedman, the Great Entertainment Reporter. And he's got
- 23:23Speaker 2: an excellent website, showbiz for one one dot com. You
- 23:27Speaker 2: should check it every day. There's always new stuff up there.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Showbiz for one one dot com. Roger Friedman. How you doing,
- 23:35Speaker 2: I'm great?
- 23:35Speaker 12: How are you?
- 23:36Speaker 2: I'm good? So Memorial Day weekend, people want to go
- 23:39Speaker 2: to movies. What's a good movie to see?
- 23:41Speaker 13: Well, the big movie this weekend is The Mandalorian and
- 23:45Speaker 13: gragu Do you know who they are?
- 23:47Speaker 2: I have no idea what a title. They're not.
- 23:50Speaker 13: They're not wa Whaling Flowers and Madam Oh they are.
- 23:55Speaker 13: The Mandalorian is a spinoff from Star Wars Oh and
- 23:59Speaker 13: it's been a hit TV show on Disney Plus for
- 24:02Speaker 13: the last three years, and now instead of doing a
- 24:05Speaker 13: fourth season, they decided to move into movies because it
- 24:08Speaker 13: was so popular and it's terrific. It's really fun. Pedro
- 24:13Speaker 13: Pascal is the star of it, and the guest star
- 24:17Speaker 13: in the movie is Martin Scorsese. Oh, and he plays
- 24:22Speaker 13: like a like a cgi character. He's hysterically funny, and
- 24:29Speaker 13: it's it's really kind of a great popcorn movie, perfect
- 24:32Speaker 13: memorial their weekend.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Hey, speaking of movies, that Michael Jackson movie Boy that
- 24:37Speaker 2: is still a number one on its way to make
- 24:40Speaker 2: it a billion dollars.
- 24:41Speaker 13: Yeah, still number one and opening in Japan today where
- 24:45Speaker 13: it still hasn't played there a couple of countries, big
- 24:48Speaker 13: countries where it hasn't played.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Japan's going to be huge.
- 24:51Speaker 13: Yeah, the Michael Jackson movie is it's going to break
- 24:54Speaker 13: a billion dollars worldwide. It's a real phenomenon. And his
- 24:59Speaker 13: records are selling like crazy. And it's too bad he's
- 25:03Speaker 13: not here to see it.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Hey, what about the Devilwares product too? That is that
- 25:07Speaker 2: doing Okay? It loved the.
- 25:09Speaker 13: Delaware's productwo is still doing very well. It's going to
- 25:12Speaker 13: hit around two hundred million dollars soon, and that's enough.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Even if it just does.
- 25:16Speaker 13: A little bit more than that, that's probably enough to
- 25:19Speaker 13: make it for a third movie.
- 25:20Speaker 4: So I'm sure that we'll see these people again.
- 25:22Speaker 2: I don't see that, but is it good? The second one.
- 25:26Speaker 4: It's a lot like the first one.
- 25:28Speaker 13: There's not much difference, but people really wanted to see
- 25:31Speaker 13: these characters again and and it just clicked with the audience.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but there's no there's.
- 25:37Speaker 13: No only the only thing different in it then from
- 25:40Speaker 13: the first movie. It was twenty years ago when Vogue
- 25:43Speaker 13: magazine was you know, a gigantic hit and they had,
- 25:46Speaker 13: you know, five hundred page issues and all that. And
- 25:48Speaker 13: now twenty years later, with the Internet and everything that's happened,
- 25:53Speaker 13: the magazine magazines are dying and so the movie sort
- 25:57Speaker 13: of addresses that and it starts to move in a
- 26:00Speaker 13: new direction, maybe towards the website and social media. And
- 26:04Speaker 13: they started to mention all that in the movie, and
- 26:07Speaker 13: you can see that the magazine in the era is
- 26:09Speaker 13: coming to an end.
- 26:10Speaker 4: It's very sad.
- 26:12Speaker 13: Vanity Fair, for example, which is Vogue sister publication of
- 26:15Speaker 13: Counting Nest plus fifty five percent of its website traffic
- 26:21Speaker 13: last month. Really yeah, unbelievable. It's been going down, but
- 26:26Speaker 13: now it really sort of kicked in. And this is
- 26:29Speaker 13: a combination of you know, people are able to get
- 26:32Speaker 13: their news in so many different places now, and you
- 26:36Speaker 13: know they're obsessed with Instagram and TikTok and all that,
- 26:40Speaker 13: so it's very hard to get someone to read an
- 26:42Speaker 13: article online, especially a long one.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Well yeah, no, everything's shorter attention span. But hey, speaking
- 26:49Speaker 2: of the Devilwares product, I think I told you I
- 26:51Speaker 2: never saw the original until like a month ago. I
- 26:54Speaker 2: saw it a month ago. I was shocked, shocked. It
- 26:58Speaker 2: was supposed to be this horrible boss. I'm watching the
- 27:00Speaker 2: woman in the movie. I've worked for people one hundred
- 27:03Speaker 2: times worse than that. You have too, if you're in
- 27:06Speaker 2: the media. Everybody acts like that that it wasn't well.
- 27:10Speaker 13: She was pretty Merril's sheep was very good. She was
- 27:13Speaker 13: pretty mean in the first movie. In the second movie,
- 27:15Speaker 13: she's more of a pussy cat. In the second movie,
- 27:18Speaker 13: they've softened her up, and that's partially because Anna Winter
- 27:22Speaker 13: and Vogue magazine.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Got involved in the movie. So, but they've made it
- 27:27Speaker 4: a lot softer than it was.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I haven't been in the media my whole life. You two,
- 27:30Speaker 2: you've worked with people ten times worse than that woman, haven't.
- 27:33Speaker 13: I work with people now who are worse than that.
- 27:36Speaker 13: Oh my god, that's nothing. I'd rather work for the Mandalorian.
- 27:41Speaker 2: So Hey, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Christie's the biggest fan in
- 27:46Speaker 2: the world. And there he was standing there at the
- 27:49Speaker 2: concert stage and Springsteen walks off, Christy puts his hand out.
- 27:52Speaker 4: I'm very happy for Chris Christy.
- 27:54Speaker 2: You know.
- 27:55Speaker 13: In twenty fifteen, I went to Radio City to see
- 27:57Speaker 13: the first Adel concert and he was right in front
- 28:00Speaker 13: of me. He was such a fan, and that was
- 28:02Speaker 13: after Bridgegate, and even though my instinct was to not
- 28:06Speaker 13: like him, he was very charming and he was so
- 28:08Speaker 13: excited about being he loves music. So then he went
- 28:11Speaker 13: to Springsteen concert the other day and he was standing
- 28:15Speaker 13: right there waiting to shake his hand and Bruce. It
- 28:18Speaker 13: looked like from a camera angle that Bruce sort of
- 28:20Speaker 13: snubbed him and ran past him and just didn't acknowledge him.
- 28:23Speaker 13: But I don't think that's what happened. I think Bruce
- 28:26Speaker 13: just didn't see him.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Oh it's hard not to see. Chris Christie's like the
- 28:30Speaker 2: Goodyear Blimp. I can't miss him.
- 28:33Speaker 4: He is.
- 28:34Speaker 13: But you know what, I was in that crowd the
- 28:36Speaker 13: other night, not Chris Christie's crowd.
- 28:38Speaker 4: The night before.
- 28:38Speaker 13: A couple of nights before I can tell you it's
- 28:41Speaker 13: pandemonium in the Madison Square Garden when he's playing, So
- 28:44Speaker 13: I don't doubt that it's a blur to him as
- 28:47Speaker 13: he's going by. Anyway, they invited Chris back the next night,
- 28:53Speaker 13: and he came and he nearly got backstage, but he
- 28:55Speaker 13: got his picture taken, and I have the picture up
- 28:57Speaker 13: on showings four one one. He's beaming like a sixteen
- 29:01Speaker 13: year old. So I'm happy for him in that sense,
- 29:04Speaker 13: all right, not for turning off the George Washington Bridge,
- 29:07Speaker 13: but for getting to see his hero.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yeah. So hey, Mark Furman, he was the detective the OJ.
- 29:16Speaker 2: He just died. He was young, fighting cancer. You know
- 29:21Speaker 2: a lot of people.
- 29:21Speaker 13: He's gone straight to Hell, a lot of people. He's
- 29:25Speaker 13: meeting OJ for lunch today in Hell. But I wrote
- 29:29Speaker 13: about Mark Furman extensively in New York Magazine thirty years
- 29:33Speaker 13: ago during the O. J. Simpson trial. He was a
- 29:35Speaker 13: very racist, awful coup And you know what I used
- 29:38Speaker 13: to say. He he was framing a guilty person, like
- 29:44Speaker 13: we knew OJ. But he he was so dead set.
- 29:48Speaker 13: I'm making sure OJ was guilty, that he framed him,
- 29:52Speaker 13: and everything that went on in that trial concerning Mark
- 29:55Speaker 13: Freeman was a joke, and the worst part of it
- 29:57Speaker 13: was that he had a terrible history in Los Angeles
- 29:59Speaker 13: with police. He was extremely racist and very You know,
- 30:04Speaker 13: this is before the internet. There was really no internet.
- 30:07Speaker 13: In fact, at the time I was going on if
- 30:09Speaker 13: anyone remembers this, they used to have Lexus and Nexus
- 30:11Speaker 13: and it costs like fifty dollars a minute.
- 30:14Speaker 4: And I was going through from New York Magazine.
- 30:17Speaker 13: I was going back through the La Times reports about
- 30:21Speaker 13: Mark Fermer, going, I don't understand how this guy could
- 30:23Speaker 13: still be a cop.
- 30:24Speaker 4: He was just the worst.
- 30:26Speaker 13: And you know, the problem with LA has always been,
- 30:28Speaker 13: as opposed to our great city, we have a tabloid
- 30:31Speaker 13: newspaper community, so if something happens, it's all over the
- 30:35Speaker 13: place within twenty four minutes.
- 30:37Speaker 4: And it even was before the internet. You know, you
- 30:39Speaker 4: remember the days where the Post and the Daily News.
- 30:41Speaker 13: Were competing in New York news day, but LA never
- 30:45Speaker 13: had a press like that, and the La Times was
- 30:47Speaker 13: always the lad was always able to tamp down any
- 30:51Speaker 13: bad news in the La Times.
- 30:53Speaker 4: So nobody really knew who this.
- 30:54Speaker 13: Guy was when he was lurking around Ojay's house, moving
- 30:58Speaker 13: gloves around and socks, all kinds of crazy stuff.
- 31:01Speaker 4: But he was a very, very bad guy.
- 31:04Speaker 2: There was a great moment they put him on the stand.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Have you ever used the N word?
- 31:07Speaker 9: No?
- 31:07Speaker 2: No, no, sure, no never. Then they bring in a
- 31:10Speaker 2: tape of him using the N word four thousand times.
- 31:13Speaker 2: He was actually convicted of perjury, making him the only
- 31:17Speaker 2: person convicted in the whole OJ trial.
- 31:20Speaker 13: Oh yeah, no, he did. He did terrible things. I
- 31:23Speaker 13: mean he once had a female partner on patrol and
- 31:28Speaker 13: he turned gasoline on her at a gas station. She
- 31:31Speaker 13: actually sued the department in one I mean, it was
- 31:34Speaker 13: a terrible situation. Yeah, so no one's I don't think
- 31:37Speaker 13: anyone's mourning him today.
- 31:39Speaker 2: No, hey, people don't realize. If you're a younger person,
- 31:42Speaker 2: you don't realize what that OJ trial was for. Like,
- 31:44Speaker 2: was it nineteen ninety five, ninety six? It just dominated
- 31:48Speaker 2: the whole country. Stopped to watch that for a year.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Oh my god, you know it was eighteen months.
- 31:53Speaker 13: It started in June of nineteen ninety four and it
- 31:56Speaker 13: ended October second, nineteen ninety five. I would say the
- 32:00Speaker 13: entire time, eighteen months. There was nothing else that I did,
- 32:04Speaker 13: just about and I was in the courtroom. I used
- 32:06Speaker 13: to go down with Dominic Dunn from the Chateau Armont.
- 32:10Speaker 13: We would sit there through hours of this stuff. It
- 32:12Speaker 13: was crazy. Oja was a mess. They had to drug
- 32:17Speaker 13: him when they did the preliminary hearings in December of
- 32:22Speaker 13: nineteen ninety four. He was making all these like clicking
- 32:25Speaker 13: noises and sort of ticks and moving around.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Finally they just drugged him for the rest of the trial.
- 32:31Speaker 4: It was it was really crazy.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Everybody involved became world famous. It was Marsha Clark, the prosecutor.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Who is the guy Chris Darden. Chris Darden the judge,
- 32:41Speaker 2: you know, the weird judge Edo.
- 32:44Speaker 4: He was a joke.
- 32:45Speaker 13: He was One day I was sitting in the courtroom
- 32:48Speaker 13: and they were waiting and waiting and waiting for the
- 32:50Speaker 13: judge Edo to come out. And when he finally comes
- 32:52Speaker 13: out of his chambers into the courtroom, he's got Larry
- 32:55Speaker 13: King with him. They've been backstage. He's like backstage with
- 32:59Speaker 13: Larry King. And then Larry King comes out to start
- 33:02Speaker 13: shaking OJ's hand at.
- 33:04Speaker 4: The witness table. I mean, it was like a circus.
- 33:07Speaker 4: It was crazy.
- 33:08Speaker 2: The judge got a little too star struck in. Yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 2: he had. They had a really sharp, good judge. Do
- 33:13Speaker 2: you think it would have gone differently.
- 33:16Speaker 13: No, because they were they were just in the wrong place.
- 33:19Speaker 9: It was.
- 33:19Speaker 4: They tried the case in the wrong district.
- 33:23Speaker 13: The people that were the jurors were very, very mad
- 33:27Speaker 13: about you know, racial tensions in Los Angeles at the time,
- 33:31Speaker 13: Rodney King and all of that, and they were determined
- 33:34Speaker 13: to get it OJ. It didn't matter if OJ had
- 33:36Speaker 13: stood up and said I killed her. They were going
- 33:39Speaker 13: to get They were going to let him off.
- 33:40Speaker 2: But they also mishandled it also.
- 33:42Speaker 13: Johnny Cochran had to tell you the truth. Johnny Cochrane
- 33:45Speaker 13: and Robert Shapiro put on a good show. You know,
- 33:49Speaker 13: they were really good. John I knew Johnny. I knew
- 33:51Speaker 13: them both. And Johnny Cochran's gone now. But Johnny Cochran,
- 33:54Speaker 13: he was very clever. And when they did that, you know,
- 33:57Speaker 13: the if it doesn't fit, you must have quit. Yeah,
- 34:00Speaker 13: you know, And the whole thing was rigged from the
- 34:03Speaker 13: start because the glove was not gonna fit. There was
- 34:05Speaker 13: no way it was gonna fit. But they got it,
- 34:08Speaker 13: and once they got that, they had it.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Well, well it was quite a time it was an
- 34:13Speaker 2: amazing period. But Roger Friedman great stuff. Make sure you
- 34:16Speaker 2: read his website, Showbiz for one one. There's a lot
- 34:19Speaker 2: more stories there Showbiz for one one dot com, new
- 34:23Speaker 2: stuff every day. Roger Friedman, thanks for being with us.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Thank you all right, Take care Hey, coming up bucking
- 34:31Speaker 2: Clay noon today with an excellent show. Then you got
- 34:34Speaker 2: the most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity
- 34:39Speaker 2: coming up at three o'clock. You got Jesse Kelly at six,
- 34:43Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayala, what a great show. It's so funny, and
- 34:45Speaker 2: it's on every night. It's nine to midnight every night
- 34:49Speaker 2: here on seven to ten. Wr back to Marshamo on
- 34:54Speaker 2: wor Well, it's going to be a very hot day.
- 35:03Speaker 2: This would be the hottest day of the year so far.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Ninety five today real field could be like one hundred,
- 35:08Speaker 2: so be careful out there. Then it'll be in the
- 35:11Speaker 2: around ninety tomorrow. Then it goes to the sixties for
- 35:14Speaker 2: the whole rest of the week and Memorial Day weekend.
- 35:17Speaker 2: You got a three day weekend coming up. You know,
- 35:21Speaker 2: you hear about layoffs all over the place, but you
- 35:23Speaker 2: don't usually hear about them, you know, the tech industry.
- 35:25Speaker 2: That well, there's a lot of layoffs coming to the
- 35:29Speaker 2: tech industry because they make more use of AI than
- 35:32Speaker 2: just about anybody. If you work at Facebook now called Meta,
- 35:36Speaker 2: but if you work at Facebook Meta, all employees have
- 35:40Speaker 2: been told to work from home tomorrow. Nobody's to come
- 35:44Speaker 2: into the office tomorrow. That's a lot of employees. They're
- 35:46Speaker 2: all supposed to work from home because apparently tomorrow they're
- 35:51Speaker 2: going to lay off ten percent of their workforce, huge cutbacks.
- 35:56Speaker 2: It's going to be a blood bat. They'll literally layoff
- 35:59Speaker 2: ten percent center their workforce and they don't want anybody
- 36:03Speaker 2: to come in. Apparently they'll do it by email. At
- 36:06Speaker 2: four am local time, you'll get an email telling you
- 36:10Speaker 2: if you're one of the ten thousand. That's pretty cold blooded,
- 36:12Speaker 2: isn't it. Don't come in, You'll just get an email.
- 36:16Speaker 2: The human resources chief, Jennae old Gale said in the document,
- 36:21Speaker 2: big organizational changes will be announced alongside the layoffs. About
- 36:25Speaker 2: seven thousand employees are also expected to shift into new
- 36:30Speaker 2: roles on Facebook and Instagram. So that's a ten thousand
- 36:34Speaker 2: will be laid off, seven thousand will be moved to
- 36:36Speaker 2: other jobs. A lot of this is AI because one
- 36:39Speaker 2: thing about Zuckerberg and Meta and Facebook, they have been
- 36:42Speaker 2: trying to get ahead of everybody in AI. But the
- 36:44Speaker 2: more you can use that AI, the less people you need.
- 36:47Speaker 2: A lot of jobs will be eliminated. And it's not
- 36:50Speaker 2: the littlest jobs in law firms and accounting. A lot
- 36:54Speaker 2: of people are going to lose a lot of jobs
- 36:56Speaker 2: to AI. It happens. It was the Industrial revolution twenty
- 37:01Speaker 2: five years ago, the digital revolution. A lot of people
- 37:03Speaker 2: lose their gym and it takes they'll eventually find other
- 37:06Speaker 2: things or transition, but the transition can take five to
- 37:09Speaker 2: ten years after something like that. Well, we got a
- 37:11Speaker 2: lot to get to in the next hour, coming up
- 37:14Speaker 2: on seven to ten. Woor
