- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, welcome in all you Faithfuls and Traders out
- 0:05Speaker 1: there for another episode of By Order of the Faithfuls.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm Wells Adams, and I'm alongside Damnor Judge.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Today we are missing to Laura's wing. She's trembling. Where
- 0:14Speaker 2: are you at, Wells?
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm in New York right now. I spent the holiday
- 0:19Speaker 1: here because my wife's doing this Broadway show, and then
- 0:21Speaker 1: I worked the parade, which was very fun.
- 0:25Speaker 2: What'd you do last night?
- 0:27Speaker 1: I went out for some of my good buddy's birthday.
- 0:31Speaker 1: She's given me. She's given me crap because I've got whiskey.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And yeah, you got a little hair of the dog.
- 0:36Speaker 1: You know, this is one thing that I needed when
- 0:38Speaker 1: I was on Traders, which they wouldn't give us. They
- 0:40Speaker 1: did not let us drink.
- 0:41Speaker 2: By the way, don't you think it'd be a better
- 0:44Speaker 2: show if they let us drink?
- 0:45Speaker 1: One hundred? You give me, you give me two cocktails,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and you put me in that interviewing room.
- 0:51Speaker 2: So entertaining when I'm drunk. Yes, yes, I understand, like
- 0:57Speaker 2: the missions, you can't do that. But as soon as
- 0:59Speaker 2: the mission are done, start pumping people with alcohol.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yes, what are we doing here? We're making a reality
- 1:04Speaker 1: TV show. Let's make a let's make a good one.
- 1:07Speaker 2: You know this is sad to say, but I find
- 1:09Speaker 2: it hard to even make good reality TV when I'm
- 1:12Speaker 2: not drunk. Are you giving an alcoholic three months out
- 1:16Speaker 2: of the year.
- 1:17Speaker 1: My entire job on reality TV is getting people drunk
- 1:22Speaker 1: on reality TV, Miss you mean too. Everyone needs a bartender, they.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Do, and I think that they need And I think
- 1:30Speaker 2: that Durinda is going to agree with us on that.
- 1:32Speaker 2: We'll have to ask her when we bring her in.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yes. Speaking of our guest today is Durinda Medley, a
- 1:37Speaker 1: TV personality best known for appearance on the Bravos series
- 1:41Speaker 1: The Real Housewives of New York City. In twenty fifteen,
- 1:44Speaker 1: she joined the cast and remained until season twelve and
- 1:47Speaker 1: twenty twenty. She went on a star in season two
- 1:50Speaker 1: and four of The Real Housewives, The Ultimate Girls Trip,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and appeared on season three of The Traders, although she
- 1:57Speaker 1: was the first one to be a limit needed but
- 2:02Speaker 1: fear not everyone out there. It's been revealed that Derinda
- 2:05Speaker 1: will be making her second appearance in Traders season four,
- 2:09Speaker 1: airing in January. I imagine she'll do better than she
- 2:13Speaker 1: did on season three.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yes, because they're not going to get rid of somebody
- 2:17Speaker 2: the first time again.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Also stupid on productions part. You cannot get rid
- 2:23Speaker 1: of the biggest TV star on your TV show. That's smart,
- 2:27Speaker 1: not smart. We need Booze and we need not to
- 2:30Speaker 1: get rid of Derendom Edley. Those are the two things
- 2:33Speaker 1: we need.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Ycock yep, I agree with.
- 2:36Speaker 1: That all right, without further ado, Welcome onto by order
- 2:40Speaker 1: of the faithfuls Drenda Medley.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Oh my god, welcome, Welcome. We were just talking about
- 2:46Speaker 2: drinking on Traders. That the big mistake. I feel like
- 2:51Speaker 2: they need to give us alcohol. I understand when the
- 2:53Speaker 2: mission's going on, too dangerous to get alcohol, but as
- 2:55Speaker 2: soon as that mission's over, start giving us alcohol. We
- 3:00Speaker 2: did not go there to go to rehab.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Not only that, I think it would it would take
- 3:04Speaker 3: away a lot of the it would lower the fear
- 3:06Speaker 3: and inhibitions, like can you imagine what people would really
- 3:09Speaker 3: say with a couple.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Of ladies exactly exactly. I was just telling, well, it's
- 3:13Speaker 2: like it's hard for me nowadays to even film with
- 3:16Speaker 2: that without having some liquid curve.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Well, I get it.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I was having withdraws there. I was like, guys,
- 3:22Speaker 1: you got to let me drink or I'm going to
- 3:24Speaker 1: absolutely have a stroke out here. That's when I realized
- 3:27Speaker 1: I might have a problem.
- 3:28Speaker 3: We guess here. No, it's that because there's so little outside,
- 3:34Speaker 3: like anything to relax your nurves. So like after a
- 3:36Speaker 3: fourteen hour day, you just want to sit down. And
- 3:40Speaker 3: even if they limited it to two or three nothing
- 3:44Speaker 3: like maybe one before the round table.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe two after I say, three before the table.
- 3:52Speaker 2: That to me was the most stressful part is that
- 3:55Speaker 2: round table.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I never made it to a round table.
- 3:58Speaker 2: The first round. Okay, well we know you. You're coming
- 4:02Speaker 2: back though, So did I.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Make it to a round table? I can't remember. No,
- 4:05Speaker 3: I just made it to where they get where they
- 4:07Speaker 3: got to pick.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Derenda, did you do better than you did on
- 4:11Speaker 1: season three? In season four?
- 4:12Speaker 3: I can't answer that. I've already been called ninety two times,
- 4:20Speaker 3: you know. Yeah, of course I get you by the
- 4:22Speaker 3: by the traders people, No, by by the worlds that be. No,
- 4:25Speaker 3: they they really are like, yeah, no, I'm not going
- 4:28Speaker 3: to do any of that. I'm not going to for
- 4:30Speaker 3: once in my life, I'm gonna try.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Not keep my mouth shut. Yeah, they try not to
- 4:34Speaker 2: fuck up. They're very strict too, Like I remember after
- 4:38Speaker 2: I got murdered, they literally put me in a car
- 4:41Speaker 2: where somebody ran to my car with a piece of
- 4:43Speaker 2: paper saying sign here right now. That meaning you can't
- 4:46Speaker 2: say a word.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Not only that. Then you go home and you realize,
- 4:52Speaker 3: especially because I got murdered so easily, people thought I
- 4:55Speaker 3: was waiting, so I had to like, you can't go
- 4:56Speaker 3: to a restaurant, yeah, because if they see you, then
- 4:59Speaker 3: they put two and two together. So I went to
- 5:01Speaker 3: the Berkshires, didn't go on Instagram. You're in isolation.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And it's hard because I had the podcast and I thought, oh,
- 5:10Speaker 2: I can go home and start doing the podcast. No,
- 5:13Speaker 2: I couldn't even tell anybody I was home.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I couldn't do the radio show. Yeah. No, dam I
- 5:17Speaker 3: heard that you were sick as well. You know, I'm
- 5:19Speaker 3: just kidding done with being sick from Bravo KHN Jeddie.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Eddie had to go to urgent care on Thanksgiving Day
- 5:26Speaker 2: morning because he has bronch ititis from Bravo con.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I went to Solas. I did the Macy's Day Parade
- 5:34Speaker 3: on Friday with Macy's and I came back and I
- 5:36Speaker 3: was so cold. I would sleep for two hours. I
- 5:38Speaker 3: woke up. I thought I couldn't breathe. I ended up
- 5:39Speaker 3: at SOLAS. I was like, no, I'm I think I
- 5:42Speaker 3: have COVID. I have something like. I was almost hoping
- 5:45Speaker 3: it was COVID. Otherwise I was like, I'm dying here
- 5:48Speaker 3: because I wasn't. I wasn't progressed. Usually with these things,
- 5:50Speaker 3: you progressively get better, and I wasn't.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I wouldn't tell anyways. And he's like, it's almost over,
- 5:56Speaker 2: it's gonna be gone. It's begin I'm like, we're going
- 5:58Speaker 2: on to.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Seroid And it did that.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they put him on one of those Z packs
- 6:04Speaker 2: or something like that.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah, because it's the bat and I don't like to
- 6:07Speaker 3: do that. But I'm like, I'm going to run down.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, COVID.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I gotta do something about that. That's that's.
- 6:14Speaker 1: It's going. It's going around for sure. In season three, Drenda,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you were a faithful So what was it like being
- 6:31Speaker 1: a trader In season four?
- 6:33Speaker 3: Oh my god, this is not gonna be a good podcast.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I literally when I saw this on my schedule to change,
- 6:40Speaker 3: I'm like what I almost called Courtney and said, because
- 6:45Speaker 3: you know they kebash this, but I'm like, no, Tambo
- 6:48Speaker 3: wouldn't do that.
- 6:48Speaker 2: No, we're not doing that. We have the Tipsy Wells
- 6:53Speaker 2: over there. He's drinking whiskey right now because he's hungover
- 6:56Speaker 2: from last night.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's okay, But so can you say what season?
- 7:04Speaker 1: Did you have more fun on? Season three or season four?
- 7:07Speaker 3: Again, can't answer that because I didn't have any I
- 7:11Speaker 3: wasn't there. Well, the best part of season three was
- 7:14Speaker 3: really the most thing that really because I would have
- 7:17Speaker 3: left completely devastated and broken heart and feeling very lonely.
- 7:22Speaker 3: But when you walked into that room and you sat
- 7:24Speaker 3: down and you were like and I would have never
- 7:26Speaker 3: guessed you were the second and it almost made me
- 7:28Speaker 3: feel better. Like I was like, I was like, oh
- 7:32Speaker 3: wait a second, because you really feel so isolated. You
- 7:36Speaker 3: think that you're just the big old loser. You don't
- 7:38Speaker 3: realize that other people that are good people are going
- 7:41Speaker 3: to be killed off as well. That's the thing. It's
- 7:43Speaker 3: such a it's such a mind game, right. Oh yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 3: But then I went back I did. I will say this.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I went back to season four just not taking it
- 7:52Speaker 3: so personally, and I really had to in my mind,
- 7:56Speaker 3: like not think like you there's nothing like Housewives.
- 7:59Speaker 2: And did you have any hesitation going back or did
- 8:02Speaker 2: you like immediately go yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Let's do this immediately. Because I felt so jipped and
- 8:06Speaker 3: so so like I never got to even have the
- 8:09Speaker 3: experience I was. I was almost more when I when
- 8:13Speaker 3: we were at the also too. I just hated that feeling.
- 8:16Speaker 3: You know, we term I think you can relate to this.
- 8:18Speaker 3: We come from a generation where we just don't fail, yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 3: like you know, especially and if we do, it's a
- 8:25Speaker 3: worthy fail, like it's something that you can really just say, Okay,
- 8:27Speaker 3: I get it now, I know how to this one.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I couldn't get my head around I really and I
- 8:31Speaker 3: really missed out on the camaradity. I was very jealous
- 8:35Speaker 3: how everybody had this secret I didn't have at the reunion,
- 8:38Speaker 3: like everybody had formed this bond that I was like,
- 8:41Speaker 3: like you do on if You're lucky, I will say
- 8:44Speaker 3: it for your season, but like you do Housewives, like
- 8:47Speaker 3: you used to do on Housewives, right.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Yeah used to.
- 8:51Speaker 3: So I really felt like I didn't it was an
- 8:54Speaker 3: incomplete task check in my psyche. To me, it was
- 8:58Speaker 3: just a real big like complete.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Well, you weren't there that long?
- 9:03Speaker 1: Were you?
- 9:04Speaker 3: I mean, I know, but it's just who I am,
- 9:06Speaker 3: you know, any I do.
- 9:07Speaker 2: How many days were you actually there? Because I know
- 9:09Speaker 2: for me, I don't know if it's the same for
- 9:10Speaker 2: you guys. We had to come in three days early.
- 9:14Speaker 2: We were isolated, We sat in that room like we
- 9:17Speaker 2: were in jail. We had to ask for food, we
- 9:20Speaker 2: had to ask for medication, and then if you're lucky,
- 9:23Speaker 2: you got to walk and that was about it. So
- 9:27Speaker 2: how many days were.
- 9:28Speaker 3: You going to still do that? But you know, I
- 9:29Speaker 3: just I just was like I just I went into
- 9:33Speaker 3: prepared last time and I was too. I thought I
- 9:36Speaker 3: could figure it out. The thing about I always say
- 9:37Speaker 3: to everyone everybody should try Traders once. It's almost like
- 9:41Speaker 3: a rehab, you know, and not just a very happy way,
- 9:45Speaker 3: just a life way. Like you know, you come back
- 9:47Speaker 3: from it there one day, five days, twenty days, you
- 9:50Speaker 3: come back from it like the first time they put
- 9:54Speaker 3: even in season three when they put their phone, because
- 9:57Speaker 3: no matter what, you still have to do stuff. It's
- 9:59Speaker 3: not like you're there overnight and come back. You get
- 10:01Speaker 3: there a little early, then you stay in your final
- 10:03Speaker 3: stuff and back up even just having your phone taken
- 10:06Speaker 3: away is something that was I think so good.
- 10:11Speaker 2: No, it's horrible.
- 10:12Speaker 3: No I liked it. I hated it, but you know
- 10:15Speaker 3: I don't. I'm not into the phone anymore.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I'm less into the phone, but I just feel like
- 10:21Speaker 2: being that far away. But I still have like kids
- 10:24Speaker 2: at home, and why I don't have.
- 10:26Speaker 3: That, and Hannah had like they had Hannah's number and
- 10:29Speaker 3: they had my and my parents. When Hannah knew if
- 10:31Speaker 3: anything happened to my parents, you know, they would call Hannah,
- 10:34Speaker 3: and Hannah would call whoever her contact was there.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Now your first for your first mission, would you have
- 10:40Speaker 2: done that differently? Now looking back.
- 10:44Speaker 3: My first mission? No, I don't do that kind of
- 10:46Speaker 3: stuff where I only wish I could know?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Do you wish you weren't so vocal?
- 10:51Speaker 1: That's why you did? You would not get back on
- 10:55Speaker 1: that pontoon if you had a chance, because.
- 10:57Speaker 3: One hundred percent I would have. I was really I
- 11:00Speaker 3: saw when I saw Dolores there by herself, there was
- 11:03Speaker 3: no way that I was gonna just I thought it
- 11:06Speaker 3: was terrible the way. Not to this day, not only
- 11:09Speaker 3: do I not regret it, Let me just double down like.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I did have sight? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let me doubled down.
- 11:15Speaker 3: I think it was disgusting the way none of those
- 11:17Speaker 3: men got off that parent. Yeah, leave it there.
- 11:20Speaker 1: We had we had Ivar on recently, and that was
- 11:24Speaker 1: someone who you were very upset with in season I.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Was just very bloated about everything. Yeah, you know, and
- 11:30Speaker 3: he's someone that won by being silent, Like there's no
- 11:33Speaker 3: skill in that, Like anybody can hide under a rock
- 11:37Speaker 3: that might.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, well true, let's talk about you know, you had
- 11:42Speaker 1: you have now hindsight right like you did season three.
- 11:46Speaker 1: It didn't work out. Well, then you've gotten to go
- 11:48Speaker 1: on season four. You filmed the entire thing. You said
- 11:51Speaker 1: earlier that one of the things you try to not
- 11:53Speaker 1: take it so personal the second time around. What are
- 11:57Speaker 1: some other things that you employed in the second time
- 12:00Speaker 1: around that you didn't do the first time?
- 12:03Speaker 3: Well, going into it, I think it's all about going
- 12:06Speaker 3: into it. Once you're there, it's kind of like you
- 12:09Speaker 3: know you have to, it's there's just there's not a
- 12:11Speaker 3: lot of control factors. It's not a it's not a
- 12:14Speaker 3: thing that you can control. But I think the preparation
- 12:18Speaker 3: it was totally different the uh going the first time on,
- 12:22Speaker 3: I was totally prepared. I was I hired a trainer.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I had read every book Hannah had written, shut me,
- 12:30Speaker 3: every philosopher. I had my clothes on point.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I like, you was ready.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I was ready this time. I didn't packed till like
- 12:38Speaker 3: a week before. They kept writing me, writing me, and
- 12:40Speaker 3: writing me. I didn't even work out. I'm like, I
- 12:45Speaker 3: just you know, I did my usual workout routine, not
- 12:47Speaker 3: that kind of and I just thought, let it be like.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I just was like, you know what, clearly what I
- 12:53Speaker 3: did before doesn't work, and that's it. I'm just going
- 12:57Speaker 3: to go back.
- 12:57Speaker 2: And what did hand to say when you said I'm
- 13:01Speaker 2: going back good?
- 13:04Speaker 3: You know?
- 13:04Speaker 2: She did, because she's always such a voice or reason like.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Yeah, because she's like, it's good for you, mom, you
- 13:10Speaker 3: should go back and do it, you you know, and
- 13:12Speaker 3: see if you know, because you feel I did. That's
- 13:14Speaker 3: what she used the word I felt unfulfilled. I felt unfinished.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I think it's a good idea that they bring back
- 13:22Speaker 2: the person that is murdered first. And you know what,
- 13:25Speaker 2: I really second, and well, they's not we're not there yet.
- 13:30Speaker 3: And it almost almost didn't matter. Once I got there
- 13:33Speaker 3: what happened. I was like, yeah, I'm back again.
- 13:36Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 13:36Speaker 3: It's almost like, yeah, did.
- 13:40Speaker 2: It remind you a little bit of bluestone manner a
- 13:43Speaker 2: little bit?
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah, me too very much.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Obviously it's the extreme form. It's it's sort of like
- 13:49Speaker 3: an older cad. Now here's a funny story about the castle,
- 13:52Speaker 3: which you probably don't know. I've been in that castle
- 13:55Speaker 3: before because when I lived in London, my friend Donald
- 13:58Speaker 3: mccaggert who's still owns it. Yes, yes, he was married
- 14:04Speaker 3: to my friend simb Could you know everything, tam, which
- 14:06Speaker 3: is the thing you don't know. My very good still
- 14:12Speaker 3: friend Sabina mctaggar who's German, and we'd gone up there
- 14:17Speaker 3: one weekend. Now it wasn't fixed up inside and you
- 14:20Speaker 3: actually stay there, but we had had like a lunch
- 14:23Speaker 3: on the grounds and it's and it was called Bannisting Castles.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Why did they buy it?
- 14:31Speaker 3: Well, it was a family castle and so Donald McTaggart,
- 14:34Speaker 3: who is Greek now but obviously Scottish heritage, you know
- 14:40Speaker 3: how they inherit everything over there, and it was really
- 14:44Speaker 3: like here's the thing. I lived in London for ten
- 14:47Speaker 3: years and I and I so and I would go
- 14:50Speaker 3: to Scotland every weekend because my husband. My first husband
- 14:53Speaker 3: was Scottish and we spent every weekend in Scotland because
- 14:57Speaker 3: he was part owner of the Celtic football team soccer teams, football, whatever.
- 15:02Speaker 3: But we used to wander a lot. And then his
- 15:04Speaker 3: brother owned a little mini castle, so like, I know,
- 15:06Speaker 3: sounds crazy, but it was kind of like you're see
- 15:08Speaker 3: in one castle, you've seen them all, because you know
- 15:10Speaker 3: there's kind of so many rundown castles in England and
- 15:14Speaker 3: that people go and have lunches on that. When I
- 15:17Speaker 3: went the first time, and then it all happened so fast,
- 15:20Speaker 3: I thought, God, it just seems so familiar to me.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Weirds right. And then Donald called me and said, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 3: I can't believe you were at I said.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I knew it. So now the family just rents it
- 15:33Speaker 2: out to I heard they had weddings there.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Well, now it's that one place and the economics of
- 15:42Speaker 4: that place have been a game changer because what what
- 15:46Speaker 4: once was for Donald a complete money suck and.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Sort of this place that what do you do just
- 15:53Speaker 3: pay the taxes and keep it remotely. Now it's a
- 15:57Speaker 3: it's not only a huge chores traction, the place for
- 16:00Speaker 3: weddings and events. Now for the people come to the town.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I mean it's like they go to see two things now,
- 16:06Speaker 3: the Lochness Monster and the traders.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Castle, well, the Trader's Castle for people that have not
- 16:11Speaker 2: been in it. The whole downstairs is pretty staged. Yeah,
- 16:15Speaker 2: it's staged with like a set like the kitchen. No,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I don't think so. I think like, I don't think
- 16:21Speaker 2: there's like a working oven or anything like that in there.
- 16:24Speaker 2: And upstairs. I had ventured upstairs, and it's all being renovated,
- 16:29Speaker 2: at least it was in season.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Well even you know, you could see from season three
- 16:34Speaker 3: to when I went season four, like the bathrooms are
- 16:36Speaker 3: being done what they've done, which is clever and they
- 16:38Speaker 3: should they're obviously as the show wins more and more Emmys,
- 16:42Speaker 3: it gets more and more and now they're doing the
- 16:45Speaker 3: Civilian one and they're running with this, and obviously people
- 16:48Speaker 3: are obsessed. And I really think it's the way of
- 16:51Speaker 3: where reality is going is into these kind of wacky shows.
- 16:55Speaker 3: They have money, so you're gonna watch. They're gonna end
- 16:58Speaker 3: up doing that whole entire castle. I wouldn't be surprised
- 17:01Speaker 3: at some point if they finished the whole thing. They
- 17:02Speaker 3: have Some people stayed there because they're moving fast and
- 17:07Speaker 3: getting that. But I'll tell you a fun fact about it.
- 17:09Speaker 3: You know, it's very haunted.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I could imagine, yeah, well, so many people have been
- 17:15Speaker 1: murdered there and vanished. I imagine that, Well.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Is it you?
- 17:20Speaker 5: Is it you?
- 17:22Speaker 1: Just rattling chains late at night.
- 17:25Speaker 3: It did remind me of an extreme form of blue Stomare,
- 17:29Speaker 3: because blue Stoman is not like, well you you know,
- 17:31Speaker 3: it's not a regular house. It's sort of like an
- 17:34Speaker 3: old fashioned house that's got you know, obviously it has
- 17:37Speaker 3: modern day although Vicky wouldn't say it. Vicky would say
- 17:40Speaker 3: it's like barely got electricity. But it is all modernized,
- 17:43Speaker 3: right it is.
- 17:44Speaker 2: It's beautiful, but it's.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Run like in the same fashion in a lot of ways,
- 17:49Speaker 3: you know what I mean.
- 17:50Speaker 2: And then you're on how many acres?
- 17:53Speaker 3: Funny one? That's all, but I'm selling some of it.
- 17:57Speaker 3: It's so I'm I made it to decision. So here's
- 18:03Speaker 3: an interesting story. Well, was my husband, my late husband
- 18:06Speaker 3: bought me this property before we were married, so as
- 18:10Speaker 3: a wedding present because I love the house growing up,
- 18:13Speaker 3: because I grew up down the road and my great
- 18:15Speaker 3: grandfather built this house.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Okay, I didn't know your great grandfather. I didn't know that.
- 18:20Speaker 3: My great grandfather was brought over from Italy as the
- 18:22Speaker 3: team to be one of the masons. My grandfather, my uncle,
- 18:29Speaker 3: and then my grandfather worked at us, so it was
- 18:30Speaker 3: kind of like my grandfather, my Italian soign were all
- 18:33Speaker 3: masons and all that. You can imagine those boys cement people. Okay,
- 18:40Speaker 3: very Italian, you.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Know what I mean.
- 18:42Speaker 3: So I always grew up in the house. Over the
- 18:45Speaker 3: years was owned and then not owned, and we used
- 18:48Speaker 3: to wander the grounds with my brother and go with
- 18:52Speaker 3: these old crazy houses that were all over the Berkshires
- 18:55Speaker 3: from the Gilded Age, and I would say to them,
- 18:57Speaker 3: I'm going to own the house a day. I told
- 18:59Speaker 3: Ralph the story and we were dating, we got engaged.
- 19:02Speaker 3: He then bought me the house, but the house had
- 19:03Speaker 3: never been renovated, so you know, it's it. So he
- 19:10Speaker 3: brought it for me six months before we got married,
- 19:12Speaker 3: which was very fortuitous and so lucky because when he
- 19:16Speaker 3: died it wasn't part of the mayor, it wasn't part
- 19:18Speaker 3: of the estate, so when it was it was such
- 19:21Speaker 3: a like not that I'm happy he had to pass
- 19:25Speaker 3: to learn that, but it's almost like it was predictive
- 19:27Speaker 3: because if I remember going to Proskauer's, the law firm,
- 19:31Speaker 3: and we were doing assets, and it came back to
- 19:33Speaker 3: me like a week later said, by the way, this
- 19:35Speaker 3: isn't an asset in your state because it's only it's
- 19:38Speaker 3: only in your name, and it was purchase six months
- 19:40Speaker 3: before you were married. How bizarre is that.
- 19:45Speaker 1: One day I want to own a manor.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I don't know if you do. It's a lot of work.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I mean, at.
- 19:53Speaker 2: What how often are you there?
- 19:55Speaker 3: There a lot because my parents are still down the road,
- 19:57Speaker 3: and my parents are old and faltering, and it's just
- 20:00Speaker 3: kind of in my blood at this point. But it
- 20:02Speaker 3: goes in spurts, like, for instance, now I'm back. I
- 20:05Speaker 3: came back last night. It's sort of I won't go
- 20:08Speaker 3: back up until closer to Christmas. Hannah's here. There's a
- 20:10Speaker 3: lot going on.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Remind me how long the drive is a little over
- 20:14Speaker 2: two hours, That's what I thought. It's like me going
- 20:16Speaker 2: to Big Bear two hours to get medical drive.
- 20:19Speaker 3: You know, I stop in Millbrook, I have you know,
- 20:22Speaker 3: I see some friends in Millbrook and listen, I think
- 20:25Speaker 3: there's there's But the funny thing is I never knew
- 20:29Speaker 3: how many acres I own because Richard died and I
- 20:32Speaker 3: just was like trying to get through that and survive
- 20:34Speaker 3: through that and think, well, I didn't even I would
- 20:37Speaker 3: tell you the truth. When I was married to Richard,
- 20:39Speaker 3: I never paid a bill. I know, I know you
- 20:41Speaker 3: can't believe that about me, but I leaned into it.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I leaned in missus Medley Foley.
- 20:45Speaker 2: It's not a bad place to be. It's not a
- 20:48Speaker 2: bad place to be.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I will dream of also never paying.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Here this woman and she was great all the bill.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I didn't even barely get mail. I theyk just got paid.
- 20:58Speaker 2: And I was like, well, this is I do know
- 21:00Speaker 2: how that happens. I grew up with no.
- 21:01Speaker 6: Money, so all of a sudden, I was like, what
- 21:03Speaker 6: do you mean he goes yeah, you know, she just
- 21:06Speaker 6: it all goes to the office so it gets paid.
- 21:08Speaker 6: So of course, you know, you can lean into rich
- 21:12Speaker 6: people stuff very easily.
- 21:13Speaker 3: It's it's very easy.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Can we talk about traders and just go ahead about
- 21:21Speaker 1: your manner?
- 21:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I know, I don't.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Know how we did that. Sorry, that's how it happens
- 21:25Speaker 3: with me, right, I.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Want to housewives will just go on tangents yeah, terrible.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Obviously at Bravocon they showed the trailer for season four.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I know that you can't talk a whole lot about it,
- 21:40Speaker 1: but what can you say about season four to get
- 21:43Speaker 1: people excited? Alan said something like, it's the you know,
- 21:46Speaker 1: like the craziest thing happens this season. What can you
- 21:48Speaker 1: say about season four to get everyone pumped?
- 21:51Speaker 3: Well, I think I can tell you right now. It's
- 21:54Speaker 3: just an incredible cast. It's a very interesting, eclectic, colorful cast.
- 21:58Speaker 3: It's so much more sort of and I think there
- 22:00Speaker 3: is it's just like a cast. It's much more filled
- 22:02Speaker 3: with antics and and dare I say a little housewifeery?
- 22:07Speaker 2: Oh dare you anybody you didn't care for in the cast?
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yes? And I can't even think. It's not that I
- 22:14Speaker 3: didn't care for me, just did not take to me
- 22:16Speaker 3: the There were just certain people that, you know, I
- 22:19Speaker 3: think you always leaned towards the housewives. I was very
- 22:21Speaker 3: happy to see Lisa Rena, but then.
- 22:23Speaker 2: There was something I'm dying to see Lisa a Rena
- 22:25Speaker 2: because we haven't gotten any Lisa Renna for a few
- 22:28Speaker 2: years since she left healthy.
- 22:30Speaker 3: She's amazing TV, Like, it's such a shame she's not
- 22:34Speaker 3: on TV.
- 22:34Speaker 2: To me, what housewives would you like to see go
- 22:37Speaker 2: on Traders next?
- 22:39Speaker 3: You know who I think would be great on Traders
- 22:41Speaker 3: is Carol ROSSI.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Will yeah, for sure.
- 22:43Speaker 3: She's like a living you know, even when she would
- 22:45Speaker 3: come to Bluestone matter, she's constantly playing clue like she's
- 22:49Speaker 3: just she would be great.
- 22:50Speaker 2: She's very intelligent, very intelligent.
- 22:53Speaker 3: I also said I think she would be great. I
- 22:59Speaker 3: actually think would be great on Traders.
- 23:01Speaker 2: She'd be entertaining, that's for sure, you know what.
- 23:03Speaker 7: I mean, she's just wandering around the castle just because
- 23:07Speaker 7: she's such a character and authentically sell herself that I
- 23:11Speaker 7: would just love to see that.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Who else? You know, it takes a certain type of people,
- 23:18Speaker 3: not that person. Not all housewives are transferable to Traders.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I don't think you've got a lot of celebrity friends
- 23:25Speaker 1: outside of Housewives. I get asked this question a lot too,
- 23:30Speaker 1: of like who do you think would be really good
- 23:32Speaker 1: on the show? Who do you think would be really
- 23:34Speaker 1: good on the show that's not part of the Housewives
- 23:37Speaker 1: family that you are friends with?
- 23:42Speaker 3: You know what I think they should have They should
- 23:43Speaker 3: have on, like a famous chef, because chefs are such
- 23:46Speaker 3: great thinkers. We were talking about this before and show.
- 23:49Speaker 3: They're such great like they you know, people think that
- 23:51Speaker 3: chefs are sort of like these happy go lucky They're not.
- 23:54Speaker 3: They're like, they maneuver, they're great thinkers. They're a little dark,
- 23:57Speaker 3: they're a little yeah role, they're a little sinister. Every
- 24:00Speaker 3: chef like John George to me, would be great on it.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Gordon Ramsey would be scary. That would be so fun.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I think that I think someone like Sarah Paulson would
- 24:11Speaker 3: be great.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Oh what politician do you think would be good on
- 24:16Speaker 1: the show? I mean, I think all of them would
- 24:19Speaker 1: be good because they're great at lying.
- 24:21Speaker 3: But I think any of the people that are in
- 24:22Speaker 3: office now because they're all sort of life. We're in
- 24:25Speaker 3: the world right now. They are traders and games living.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Take a pic.
- 24:32Speaker 2: You know you're not wrong, Why.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Don't we just play? You don't be great out of
- 24:36Speaker 3: Elon Musk. So imagine him wandering around the castle.
- 24:39Speaker 2: You know how much money he'd want to do that
- 24:41Speaker 2: and the time commitment. That's because I'm always thinking like
- 24:44Speaker 2: it would be great to have like a list celebrities
- 24:47Speaker 2: doing this as well, to see a different side of them.
- 24:49Speaker 2: But none of them, it would be so expensive to
- 24:51Speaker 2: hire them. And then the time commitments.
- 24:54Speaker 3: I mean, they've got all these Emmys and they must
- 24:56Speaker 3: be getting tons of like making more and more money
- 24:59Speaker 3: now thing. What about Lisa vander Palm, I thought she said, I.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Just don't think she'd do it, like I know, like
- 25:06Speaker 2: I know for a fact, like I Heather debrauh would
- 25:09Speaker 2: never do it. She just wouldn't do it. I just
- 25:12Speaker 2: don't see her doing that. She's like, no way, no time.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Experience, you know, you have to go pretty rogue. You
- 25:21Speaker 3: have to kind of be really open.
- 25:22Speaker 2: To not everybody wants to do that.
- 25:24Speaker 3: No, Well, I think Nanny Leaks would be great. I
- 25:27Speaker 3: think at some point she was.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Didn't they ask her? Didn't they ask Nini and she
- 25:31Speaker 2: turned it down or something? Or is that a rumor?
- 25:33Speaker 3: I can't. I think I thought I heard that too.
- 25:36Speaker 3: You know, as you guys know, they don't tell you anything.
- 25:39Speaker 3: I know that people think that we know a lot
- 25:41Speaker 3: before we go into it, but you don't know, we
- 25:44Speaker 3: know nothing. You know. What I think would be good
- 25:46Speaker 3: is Laala, Oh.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Lala'd be great Lala. I'm a big Laala fan, so
- 25:52Speaker 2: La could do no wrong in my eyes, she's.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Good, a great she's a good little thinker on her feet.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Who's going to be the breakout star of season four?
- 26:10Speaker 1: Do you think who's gonna be the Dylan Ephron of
- 26:13Speaker 1: season four?
- 26:16Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 26:17Speaker 2: The sexy guy is there going to be? Like a
- 26:19Speaker 2: sexy guy that's always taking the baths the shower opened
- 26:22Speaker 2: his body.
- 26:22Speaker 3: I mean when I when I walked in the first
- 26:24Speaker 3: day and saw that Rob Broch, Yeah, people.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I mean, who's that. I don't even know who that is.
- 26:29Speaker 3: He is one of the people from Love Island. He
- 26:32Speaker 3: doesn't really Oh they're all beautiful people. He doesn't really speak,
- 26:35Speaker 3: but he's got he's beautiful. He does army. Yeah, he's
- 26:39Speaker 3: very quiet, but he's.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Beautiful, but dumb as a box of rocks strategy, He's
- 26:45Speaker 4: not dumb, he's just very quiet.
- 26:49Speaker 2: It was like, uh, Britney Spears.
- 26:51Speaker 3: And I think I did to tell you something. He
- 26:54Speaker 3: would have fooled me on Love Island. I mean all
- 26:56Speaker 3: he had and I would have fallen for it. Yeah yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 3: I mean as soon as everybody saw him. And he's
- 27:03Speaker 3: kind of like the guy that the outdoors guy, kind
- 27:07Speaker 3: of like overalls but very good looking.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Look kind of like Sam is his name, Sam Brittany is.
- 27:14Speaker 3: More rugged, like he wrangles snakes and stuff like that. Wow,
- 27:19Speaker 3: I know already fall over them.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you, you know, like, obviously you've
- 27:25Speaker 1: made such good TV for a long time on Real
- 27:28Speaker 1: Housewives and now doing Traders for a second time. What
- 27:32Speaker 1: do you think about the show Traders specifically that makes
- 27:36Speaker 1: it such a good reality TV show?
- 27:39Speaker 3: I think a because of the secrecy. I think it's
- 27:41Speaker 3: amazing the way they keep the veil of secrecy. People
- 27:44Speaker 3: love that. The production value is off the charts. Alan
- 27:48Speaker 3: Coming is just brilliant. I mean I was every time
- 27:53Speaker 3: we walked through the door. I was excited to see
- 27:56Speaker 3: them and the way that they they the way that
- 28:00Speaker 3: they it is such an incredible exercise in human behavior
- 28:07Speaker 3: and how conformity and how you know, people quickly change
- 28:13Speaker 3: and are willing to do things you never thought you
- 28:16Speaker 3: would do. It's such an exercise in human nature. It's
- 28:20Speaker 3: like that book that we all read growing up, and
- 28:22Speaker 3: when they're all put on the island and they all
- 28:23Speaker 3: turn against each other, Lord the Flies, Lord of the Flies.
- 28:27Speaker 3: It becomes like a living lord. You know, It's like
- 28:30Speaker 3: Lord of the flies and and it's it's the psychology
- 28:33Speaker 3: behind it, to me is brilliant. It's like it's writable.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Every show can be better now. Whether they are or
- 28:42Speaker 1: they aren't going forward, that remains to be seen. What's
- 28:45Speaker 1: one thing that the show could do to make it better?
- 28:49Speaker 3: I just want to watch TV.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Let us drink when we're happening.
- 28:55Speaker 2: We talk about this and quite a few us.
- 28:58Speaker 3: I want to watch television.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Well, they do. They do change television.
- 29:03Speaker 3: I'm at the point because I don't got a man
- 29:04Speaker 3: in my bed. I got that TV on all the time.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Oh my god. But you know, they do change it
- 29:11Speaker 2: up just a little bit every new season. And we've
- 29:14Speaker 2: talked about this before and thought it'd be really cool
- 29:17Speaker 2: if they didn't let the audience know who the traders were.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I agree with you. I think I don't understand that
- 29:24Speaker 3: why they announce them so early, and not only just
- 29:26Speaker 3: because why, but second of all, because they know they're
- 29:29Speaker 3: going to get murdered. So when people see you out,
- 29:33Speaker 3: it's a way for the sluice, and God knows, the
- 29:36Speaker 3: sluice are so good now to figure it out. If
- 29:38Speaker 3: they don't know, then they'll not know if you're back
- 29:40Speaker 3: home or not.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, right, it would be so fun. I mean,
- 29:46Speaker 1: the editing would be hard, right because you have to
- 29:48Speaker 1: choose what you want to use, and you could probably
- 29:52Speaker 1: lead people down the path that was incorrect if you
- 29:54Speaker 1: weren't exposing who the traders were to the audience. But
- 29:58Speaker 1: I do think it would make for a really fun
- 30:02Speaker 1: TV show, especially make it interactive.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Well, I think it's I don't think they should announce
- 30:10Speaker 4: the cast so early on.
- 30:12Speaker 2: You know why they do that. They didn't do that
- 30:14Speaker 2: in the very beginning, but it just leaks. Like I
- 30:16Speaker 2: started getting text messages while I was on the plane
- 30:19Speaker 2: to Scotland saying, Hey, I'm gonna let you know Dan
- 30:23Speaker 2: is going to be there. I heard Dan is there.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Maybe it's a spotting, maybe something on somebody saw them
- 30:28Speaker 2: put on social media. I don't know how people find out,
- 30:31Speaker 2: but I'm like, who's Dan?
- 30:33Speaker 3: I don't know who Dan?
- 30:34Speaker 1: Durand up. Thank you so much for coming on.
- 30:37Speaker 2: I miss you well.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Will you promise? Will you promise us right now that
- 30:41Speaker 1: you'll come back on while the show.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Is Are you win?
- 30:44Speaker 3: Absolutely? Then I can spill the beans.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I want that.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I wish you were in New York. We're gonna finally
- 30:50Speaker 3: have dinner together. We've been promising each other we're going
- 30:53Speaker 3: to have dinner for years and we haven't done it yet.
- 30:56Speaker 1: We're going to go to a Broadway show. Yeah, we're
- 30:59Speaker 1: gonna go see my wife's show, and then we're gonna
- 31:02Speaker 1: get to dinner and we're gonna have a.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Dancing in front of me. At the Macy's day for you,
- 31:06Speaker 3: I'm like, wait a.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Second, I know she did you a video? Did you get?
- 31:12Speaker 1: Very texted me and she was Durnta was there and
- 31:14Speaker 1: I was like, why didn't you go, say, hiders, guy.
- 31:17Speaker 3: I my phone. She's realized that it was gonna be
- 31:21Speaker 3: such a huge thing. And when they were like when
- 31:23Speaker 3: Macy's invited me, I thought, okay, I'll go. I'll stop by. Meanwhile,
- 31:26Speaker 3: they sent you that big long itinerary and then they
- 31:29Speaker 3: breakfast and all these people were there. I was like, Oh,
- 31:32Speaker 3: this is like a real thing, like.
- 31:34Speaker 2: A real real thing. This is cannot be the first
- 31:38Speaker 2: time you were there, first time I've.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Never been in New York for Thanksgiving. Because I was
- 31:42Speaker 3: this is the first year we're not host at Bluestone Manor,
- 31:46Speaker 3: and I'm gonna take something. Folks I'll never host again
- 31:48Speaker 3: a blue Stone manner. Thanksgiving, I am staying in New
- 31:51Speaker 3: York City.
- 31:52Speaker 7: But terror, let me tell you a really funny handled
- 31:55Speaker 7: up so hard, so I had to run to the
- 31:57Speaker 7: bathroom like part way through, so you know it said
- 32:01Speaker 7: hi to people, but you know there's everyone's focused on
- 32:04Speaker 7: much bigger people than me.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Okay, so it's going to come out. And when I
- 32:08Speaker 3: walked out, the crowd went crazy. So I said, waving
- 32:13Speaker 3: to the crowd, hold on, and the Grinch was walking
- 32:16Speaker 3: behind me goes, oh my god, Mom, you're such a sucker.
- 32:28Speaker 5: I'm excited. Love we were upstaged by the Grinch, and
- 32:40Speaker 5: he goes, Mom, that.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Is classic during the.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Medsh always a good story.
- 32:49Speaker 1: With you, all right, thank you, we love you.
- 32:52Speaker 2: We'll talk to you.
- 32:53Speaker 3: I love you, guys, love you.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Always fun to talk to Derinda. I'm glad that she
- 32:59Speaker 1: got to go back because I was so annoyed, Like
- 33:02Speaker 1: the television producer in me was very annoyed that I
- 33:05Speaker 1: thought the biggest television star that we had on the
- 33:07Speaker 1: show was kicked off of me.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Did you know so you knew her before?
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean, like listen, I don't no offense. I
- 33:15Speaker 1: don't really watch Real Housewives shows, like that's more of
- 33:18Speaker 1: my wife's bag. But I knew who she was, you know,
- 33:22Speaker 1: like it was almost like she is so big that
- 33:25Speaker 1: she kind of transcends that world. At least A Runner
- 33:28Speaker 1: is a good example of that as well, Like I
- 33:30Speaker 1: know that person, and I just remember thinking, you know,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I watched season two and Johnny Bananas got kicked out first,
- 33:36Speaker 1: and I was like, it's so dumb. He makes such
- 33:39Speaker 1: good TV. And then when she went out, I was like,
- 33:41Speaker 1: it's so dumb. She makes such good TV. So I'm
- 33:43Speaker 1: glad that she gets to go back.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Yeah, when I think that everybody that gets let go
- 33:50Speaker 2: the very first day should have a chance of going back,
- 33:53Speaker 2: I like that they do that.
- 33:54Speaker 1: They should have one season where it's just people kicked
- 33:58Speaker 1: off first, all the losers. Yeah yeah, yeah, Oh my gosh, yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 1: I call it the Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Well they're going to start getting creative. I mean,
- 34:07Speaker 2: there's only so much talent out there when it comes
- 34:10Speaker 2: to reality that they're going to be like resurfacing recycling,
- 34:14Speaker 2: you know, going back.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Fifty years, and that's when I will make my triumphant
- 34:20Speaker 1: return trade it. Yes, everyone out there, thanks so much.
