- 0:22Speaker 1: Do something different this year. Look, if what you've been.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Doing has just gotten you to this point and you
- 0:29Speaker 2: are not content with the point you are at, then
- 0:32Speaker 2: we need to make an adjustment. I mean, don't that
- 0:34Speaker 2: seem like the common sense thing to do? It does

- 0:40Speaker 2: a commitment. I'm gonna do something different. I'm gonna put
- 0:43Speaker 2: forth a little bit more effort. I'm gonna quit trying.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna do it this year. You know, sometimes that
- 0:49Speaker 2: simple change of attitude is enough. Instead of trying, I'm
- 0:53Speaker 2: gonna do it. And it's just as simple as that. Sometimes,
- 0:57Speaker 2: just remove certain words out the way, stop trying to do.
- 1:00Speaker 2: You know, I decided this year, you know, I wasn't
- 1:02Speaker 2: gonna try to be a better person this year. I'm
- 1:04Speaker 2: just gonna go about the business of being a better
- 1:06Speaker 2: person this year and see how that works, you know,
- 1:09Speaker 2: because like I've said a thousand times. So if you
- 1:12Speaker 2: keep doing what you been doing, you gonna keep getting
- 1:14Speaker 2: what you been getting. It don't change it, don't change
- 1:18Speaker 2: unless you change it. But you have the power to
- 1:21Speaker 2: change it. The power of decision is in your hands.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Decide to do the do something different, make a commitment,
- 1:28Speaker 2: say you know what, this year, I'm gonna do the
- 1:30Speaker 2: right thing. Now, let me warn you when you decide
- 1:34Speaker 2: to do the right thing, understand, here come the haters.
- 1:39Speaker 2: What they not gonna let you do is make a
- 1:40Speaker 2: conscious decision to be a better person.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Without something to be said.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Come on, now, you think the devil just gonna let
- 1:47Speaker 2: you all of a sudden, you gonna you're gonna be
- 1:49Speaker 2: better when he needed to keep you on the wrong
- 1:52Speaker 2: side of the track, You're gonna go up on the
- 1:53Speaker 2: other side.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So he come to haters.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Now, Now let me tell you what's gonna happen, because
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm speaking from experience. This this is what I know,

- 2:08Speaker 2: right thing, it's going to be unpopular with some people.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Some people ain't gonna like your decision because now your
- 2:15Speaker 2: decision to start getting to work on time, or your
- 2:19Speaker 2: decision to finally go home and be the man you're
- 2:21Speaker 2: supposed to be, or your decision to finally go on
- 2:24Speaker 2: to take care of your kids in spite of it all,
- 2:26Speaker 2: or your decision to, man, I'm gonna come in here, man,
- 2:29Speaker 2: and start loving my girl the way she deserved to
- 2:31Speaker 2: be loved, and all this here, Okay, Now that's gonna
- 2:34Speaker 2: put somebody on the out looking in. You do understand
- 2:38Speaker 2: that when you decide to come to work on time
- 2:40Speaker 2: every day, your homie over there that's been coming in
- 2:43Speaker 2: late with you, now all of a sudden, you got

- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, man, Because when you decide to do the
- 2:56Speaker 2: right thing, it's it becomes unpopular to some people. Decided
- 3:00Speaker 2: to do the right thing from experience, they gonna talk

- 3:09Speaker 2: he gonna try to go home and see his wife. Yeah, man,
- 3:11Speaker 2: yeah yeah, you just made that decision. But they gonna
- 3:14Speaker 2: talk about you. Now.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Guess what.

- 3:17Speaker 2: gonna talk about you. You ain't this, You ain't nothing.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Because now you're going home. Your boy's gonna talk about you.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Because you're going home, and you gonna get some flat.

- 3:25Speaker 2: Right thing, here comes somebody ain't gonna like it. Somebody
- 3:31Speaker 2: wants you to stay wrong, misery love company.
- 3:34Speaker 1: When you make the.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Decision to do the right thing, somebody is gonna call
- 3:39Speaker 2: you a hypocrite because you know what they gonna do.
- 3:42Speaker 2: They gonna point out the way you were in the
- 3:44Speaker 2: past versus the way you decided to be brand new.
- 3:47Speaker 2: How you all of a sudden claiming this one I
- 3:50Speaker 2: saw you doing that. Please understand, when you make the
- 3:53Speaker 2: decision to do the right thing, here they come you
- 3:57Speaker 2: a hypocrite. You think they don't call me that, They
- 3:59Speaker 2: call call that Steve Harvey, he fake, I hear man.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Look on Twitter, you try to tweet people positive stuff.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Here come a tweet you fake your family and all that.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I ain't say my family was.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Man. I'm just trying to give out some positive encouragement,
- 4:15Speaker 1: you know.
- 4:15Speaker 2: But here it come. You a hypocrite. I remember when
- 4:19Speaker 2: you was out on the tour with the Kings of Comedy.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah me too, I remember that too, But I ain't out.
- 4:24Speaker 1: On tour with them no more. We done all changed. Hello,
- 4:28Speaker 1: So now what you want me to do?
- 4:30Speaker 2: You want to keep living up to what you saw
- 4:32Speaker 2: me as what I was, And I can't get no
- 4:34Speaker 2: credit with you for what I'm trying to be.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Now that's that. Now you're gonna be a hypocrite. You fake?
- 4:40Speaker 2: Nah, man, you ain't fake. You just have made the
- 4:42Speaker 2: decision to be a better person, that's all. And now
- 4:44Speaker 2: because you ain't the person you was, the person they knew,
- 4:47Speaker 2: now they see the new you. Now you're a hypocrite.
- 4:49Speaker 2: You ain't a hypocrite.
- 4:49Speaker 1: You just changed it.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Don't let them hate to shake you. Man, go own
- 4:53Speaker 2: about your business when they talking about you. Look at
- 4:55Speaker 2: him now, gonna try to go home. He been with
- 4:58Speaker 2: me all this time, Hey man, just go home. Oh
- 5:00Speaker 2: he gonna try to go home now, man, he know
- 5:02Speaker 2: Friday nights. Man, we done told our girls just where
- 5:05Speaker 2: we're at now. He's showing up at the house because
- 5:07Speaker 2: he don't want to come on player. Hey, man, just
- 5:09Speaker 2: go home. It's gonna be unpopular. You're gonna get talked about.
- 5:13Speaker 2: They gonna say you're a hypocrite. But do the right thing.
- 5:16Speaker 2: God will bless you for that. There's something in Proverbs
- 5:19Speaker 2: that says, if you honor God, if you do the
- 5:21Speaker 2: right thing, if you seek him out, God will cause
- 5:24Speaker 2: his blessings to chase you down. Do you understand me
- 5:27Speaker 2: what that means? Can you imagine what would happen in
- 5:30Speaker 2: your life if God were to take some blessings and
- 5:35Speaker 2: chase you down with him. Do you know that there's
- 5:38Speaker 2: no hiding from him in your deepest, darkest secret.
- 5:42Speaker 1: He know about the.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Stuff that you done kept out the light from everybody else.
- 5:46Speaker 2: He know about all of that. So now if he
- 5:50Speaker 2: has got some blessings that he gonna chase you down with,
- 5:53Speaker 2: you can't even escape them. You look up and here
- 5:55Speaker 2: come another one. That go another one, Here he go again. Man,
- 6:00Speaker 2: And that's why I'm trying to get my life too,
- 6:02Speaker 2: because at the end, man, what I do not want? Man,
- 6:06Speaker 2: And not even at the end I just don't want
- 6:08Speaker 2: now God to have all these boxes up in heaven,
- 6:12Speaker 2: these blessings with my name on them, and I don't
- 6:14Speaker 2: get them sent to me because I'm down here clowning
- 6:17Speaker 2: so hard. He can't even ship blessings to me, because
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'm just so dead wrong that I'm blocking the blessings man.
- 6:25Speaker 1: That God got for me.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I would rather do the best I can do and
- 6:31Speaker 2: be the best I can be, make some mistakes, ask
- 6:35Speaker 2: for forgiveness, and get on up and see what God
- 6:37Speaker 2: got for me. And remember, Donni McLurkin got a song out.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Man.
- 6:40Speaker 2: We ain't got time to play it now because I
- 6:42Speaker 2: have talked too long, But you know that's why I
- 6:44Speaker 2: am right now. The song and it is one of
- 6:47Speaker 2: my favorite. When Donnie wrote we Fall Down, do you
- 6:50Speaker 2: know I knew him when he wrote the song. I
- 6:54Speaker 2: thought he had wrote the song for me. I really did,
- 6:58Speaker 2: because it came out after a conversation we was having,
- 7:02Speaker 2: and I thought he had wrote the song for me
- 7:05Speaker 2: because it's so appropriate to my life. And I bet
- 7:08Speaker 2: you it's appropriate to your life because you see, guess what,
- 7:12Speaker 2: We fall down, but we get up. He has a
- 7:14Speaker 2: line in the song that says a saint is just
- 7:18Speaker 2: a sinner who fell down, but he didn't stay there.
- 7:22Speaker 2: That's the deal, y'all. Look, you gonna make some mistakes.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Just don't stay there. Just get up, man, and walk
- 7:30Speaker 2: straight again. Then while you're walking straight and right and
- 7:33Speaker 2: trying to be righteous, you're gonna fall.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Get up.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Don't stay there and get back on the straight and
- 7:38Speaker 2: the righteous. You're gonna fall a bunch of times. Just
- 7:41Speaker 2: don't stay there, Just get up, man. That's the only
- 7:44Speaker 2: difference between a saint and a sinner. They the same people, man. Actually,
- 7:49Speaker 2: that's what the revealing news is. Saints is really sinners.
- 7:54Speaker 2: They're the same people. They just keep getting up, that's
- 7:57Speaker 2: all man.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
