- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on?
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome back to the show.
- 0:03Speaker 1: North Florida Sports Network coming to you on a Sunday we're going to react to Clemson at Florida State.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Talk a little LSU Florida, maybe touch on the Miami score Grambling State.
- 0:27Speaker 1: They got the big win.
- 0:28Speaker 1: We'll be joined by lead recruiting in college football and our FSU insider Jimmy Reno.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Let's get it started, All right.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Beautiful day in the North Florida area.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Hope you're having a good day where you are, wherever you and yours are.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Happy Sunday.
- 1:07Speaker 1: What a day in college football it was yesterday.
- 1:12Speaker 1: A couple of Florida teams did not come up on the winning side.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Miami won, florida A&M came away with the win at Grambling State, but we are joined by our lead college football and recruiting analyst, fsu contributor, jimmy Reno.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Jimmy you there.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm here, man, I'm here.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you know FSU played Clemson last night.
- 1:40Speaker 1: The environment looked pretty good.
- 1:42Speaker 1: They came out with a nice plan, were able to stick with the tigers, but um ended up falling short.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It was a stretch in the middle of the game that you know.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Clemson really established their dominance, but fsu, when you look I mean last year, two years ago it looks like they might have rolled over, but they they showed some fight.
- 2:06Speaker 1: How did you see the game last night?
- 2:10Speaker 2: uh, man, it was uh, it's just just frustrating.
- 2:15Speaker 2: That's what it was.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Um, you're right, though the the game plan coming out, the first half save for the last minute there was.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You know, I thought it was just awesome.
- 2:27Speaker 2: You know, I thought I thought they really caught clemson off guard.
- 2:30Speaker 2: You know, they, they.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You know, when you have herb street praising your offensive line, like for florida state, you know to, to get offensive line praise on on national tv, on on the game of the week against clemson, like that's, that's a big deal.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Given what the last six or seven years has shown us.
- 2:48Speaker 2: But you know they were running on them, you know it was oh man, because that defense, clemson's defense, is just full of NFL talent on all three levels.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I thought we came out and set the tone with the offensive line, with the running game.
- 3:04Speaker 2: It's a shame that it had to all crumble there at the very end of that first half.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:14Speaker 2: It just you know, and it's Florida State right now we're not a team that's going to be able to overcome something like that Right, that kind of collapse, especially against a team that's as good as Clemson and Clemson is good.
- 3:26Speaker 2: This is an improved team.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Dj is a better quarterback than he was last year.
- 3:32Speaker 2: He's in better shape.
- 3:33Speaker 2: He moves a little bit better.
- 3:34Speaker 2: He's still not the most accurate thrower, but he's not making those bonehead mistakes that are turning the ball over or getting you in long or long yardage situations.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he's strong in the pocket too.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's.
- 3:48Speaker 2: He's tough to get down.
- 3:49Speaker 2: You know we had, we had pressure on him, but it takes an extra kind of pressure to get somebody that strong in the pocket and keep him from making plays.
- 3:58Speaker 2: You know, but the story of the game that what it came down to, is about the, you know, three and a half minutes of game time the last minute of the second half and the first minute and a half or so of, or the last minute of the first half, the first minute and a half of the second half, and that's ultimately what cost you the game.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a fumble.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Jordan Travis lost control of it.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It was a great play by the Clemson defender, but that's another turnover at a key time.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, miles Murphy is a first-round defensive end, without question.
- 4:35Speaker 2: He came in there.
- 4:36Speaker 2: He made a great play getting to Jordan Travis.
- 4:39Speaker 2: You got to be, you got to protect the ball in that situation.
- 4:43Speaker 2: You know I hate it's bang bang.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You know you're getting hit, you're getting sacked, so but, there's one thing you can't do with 40 seconds left in the first half at midfield.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It's like you can't turn the ball over.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I mean, if you do, you got to just throw it towards the end zone and hope it's like a punt interception and then you go from there and what you really can't do is give up a touchdown here and we give up a touchdown.
- 5:10Speaker 2: So right, there it's it's worst case scenario to end the first half.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:15Speaker 2: And you know you, you say okay, you chalk it up Like, okay, we disaster town.
- 5:21Speaker 2: All of a sudden, you know we've played, almost played them dead evenly until the last minute of the first half, but you're going into halftime, you got to regroup.
- 5:29Speaker 2: You got to re regroup, your focus, lock in.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And you know, defense, special teams, like they, got to be alert.
- 5:35Speaker 2: No, what, what can you not do as a special teams unit?
- 5:39Speaker 2: What can you not do as a defense?
- 5:40Speaker 2: We can't give them a great kickoff return, you know, give them a short field, let them seize momentum right out of the gate.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We let that happen.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Okay, defense, you gotta at least stand tough, keep them out of the end zone.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Very next play, you give up a touchdown, you know it.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So there, you know that, right there, about two and a half, three minutes of game time, that decided the game.
- 6:01Speaker 2: It did everything else outside of that.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You two teams played evenly Right, statistically they're pretty dead, even it.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Just, I don't know man, the wheels fell off.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it took the entire second half to get them back on.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yep, you're right.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You're just right, you can't make.
- 6:19Speaker 1: We're not the kind of team that can overcome those mistakes at those costly times.
- 6:25Speaker 2: No, no we're not the kind of team that can overcome those mistakes at those costly times.
- 6:27Speaker 2: No, no, um, there's, there's, didn't it?
- 6:28Speaker 2: You know, in fairness, there's very few teams in college football, right, are able to do something like that.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Uh, you know, so it man, it's just frustrating, it's frustrating yep um four and three on the two and three in the conference now, and Noel's moved too.
- 6:45Speaker 1: For me it's kind of what I expected from this game, although there was a point there when it went into halftime I thought this team was going to get blown out.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie, I did.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I sent you a text man blowout city.
- 7:04Speaker 2: We both thought it was coming because of what we've seen in the past few seasons.
- 7:10Speaker 2: And that was you know.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Honestly, dabo expected it and he was going to pound one tree hill up the middle until he broke one.
- 7:20Speaker 2: He could case 41 to 14.
- 7:22Speaker 2: He could.
- 7:24Speaker 2: But that was that was that was very encouraging.
- 7:28Speaker 2: It was to see fight, to see them.
- 7:31Speaker 2: You know, hey, you know we're not gonna just let you just kick us around and sit here and mope on the sidelines right, it's a big stage to, to, to, not.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You don't want to get.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You got a prime time, you got um.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Fowler Herbstreit.
- 7:44Speaker 1: The first time they were back doing the game since Willie Taggart's first game.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So they called the game.
- 7:50Speaker 1: They called it a good game.
- 7:51Speaker 1: They noticed the difference too.
- 7:55Speaker 2: So those are good signs.
- 7:56Speaker 2: The atmosphere was back.
- 7:58Speaker 2: They said as much, I thought.
- 8:01Speaker 2: A really interesting sort of tidbit.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I can't remember if it was herbie or fallon it was fallon you're talking about with mickey andrews yeah, mickey andrews, that was yeah, I like that insight you know the.
- 8:12Speaker 2: You know the quote about.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You know, hey, you know he likes everything that the.
- 8:15Speaker 2: You know the program is right now.
- 8:17Speaker 2: He likes the direction of it.
- 8:18Speaker 2: You know he likes all the, the core principles being installed.
- 8:22Speaker 2: The culture of the program said you know, you know the flat-out difference is when I was coaching, you know everybody I had on defense was a dude.
- 8:28Speaker 2: They would go out there and just dominate their one-on-one and you know they had.
- 8:33Speaker 2: You know, right now we got maybe one or two of those guys.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And that's.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You know that just comes with recruiting and development and it's going to take time.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Nobody wants to hear the word time and patience and anything like that, because it's been year number three now still seeing some of the mistakes.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I think some of the growth that's going to come or needs to happen is going to come by way of making some staff changes.
- 9:00Speaker 2: At least I hope that, that's my hope, that's my belief.
- 9:03Speaker 2: But there's a lot of positives.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It's frustrating to lose three games in a row.
- 9:10Speaker 2: For me it's just kind of how the schedule shook out.
- 9:13Speaker 2: You know you had you had four teams that four teams that you were better than that you played in a row.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Then you got the three teams that you're probably not as good at.
- 9:21Speaker 2: At least two of them I think nc state State that loss still stings it really does.
- 9:26Speaker 2: But Clemson's a better roster top to bottom.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Wake Forest better team.
- 9:35Speaker 2: They play better team football.
- 9:36Speaker 2: They have more senior leadership.
- 9:37Speaker 2: That's true.
- 9:38Speaker 2: They've been through a lot more and more resilient NC State.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I think we probably play them to a push.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:48Speaker 1: It's that quarterback.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Once their quarterback went down, they I think, they couldn't move the ball.
- 9:53Speaker 2: They felt bad for them.
- 9:54Speaker 1: They threw that flag.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you don't want to go back to that one?
- 9:57Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 9:59Speaker 1: They got five games left and you got an off week now for the Noles.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I would not, if they show the fight that they've shown and they can clean up the mistakes, because the opponents aren't going to get better than those three teams you played.
- 10:18Speaker 2: No, you've played the three best teams on your schedule.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:22Speaker 2: And you haven't gotten embarrassed by any of them yeah so that's, you know, as, as you know, as runner up, as that sounds, you know it's it's, it's the truth.
- 10:33Speaker 2: You know, you, you, you have a better team than you've had in in a lot of years.
- 10:37Speaker 2: You know, probably the last three, four years.
- 10:39Speaker 2: You know, in terms of talent, right, um know you should be able to go into these last five games and expect to be able to win all five of them, right, yep, now the likelihood of that happening.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Georgia Tech has improved.
- 10:55Speaker 2: They fired their coach and all of a sudden they start playing good football.
- 10:59Speaker 2: You've got the two rivalry games.
- 11:02Speaker 2: They're toss-ups.
- 11:04Speaker 2: In truth, all three of those teams Miami, florida, florida State they're all pretty much a similar level of team in terms of— yeah, right there, who's going to make that push?
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah, having glaring issues of their own on all the different spots.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It's.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You know those two games are toss-ups at best.
- 11:24Speaker 2: So you really got to look at Georgia Tech.
- 11:28Speaker 2: You know Louisiana Lafayette and you know Syracuse is undefeated.
- 11:31Speaker 2: They all of a sudden become you know, this huge game that I doubt we'll be favored, in, that we may be a double-digit dog by the time it rolls around.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know about that Well.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I mean, who knows, If they went out, we'll see what they do against Clemson.
- 11:47Speaker 2: They're not beating Syracuse.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I mean they're not on some of the lower competition.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Well, NC State can't move the ball.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and I put NC State in that without them in there it's a lesser team.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So you could see that game meddling around and I think they got ahead late.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But Florida State I wouldn't be surprised if they cleaned it up.
- 12:15Speaker 1: They could win five in a row and finish this year.
- 12:18Speaker 1: They could.
- 12:19Speaker 2: You're getting some guys back too.
- 12:20Speaker 2: That's going to be a big hell.
- 12:21Speaker 2: You're getting Fabian Lovett back in the middle of that defense.
- 12:25Speaker 2: That's going to be a huge boost.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Robert Scott is going to continue to get healthier.
- 12:32Speaker 2: You've got to lick your wounds.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You got to regroup.
- 12:36Speaker 2: For Jordan Travis I know he's taking some heat today.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Probably this whole week he'll be taking some heat from the fan base.
- 12:47Speaker 2: You know he is who he is at this point.
- 12:51Speaker 2: He's what makes this offense work.
- 12:54Speaker 2: We're not able to to just drop back.
- 12:59Speaker 2: We did too much drop back pass last night for, for my liking, yeah we just can't pass block like that.
- 13:04Speaker 2: You know and but he.
- 13:07Speaker 1: He was running around for his life, he played.
- 13:09Speaker 1: He played his butt off.
- 13:09Speaker 1: He played his butt.
- 13:10Speaker 1: He missed a few throws, yeah, but he's getting hit.
- 13:11Speaker 1: You know he's not a kid that's built to get hit.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Five to missed a couple throws, but he's getting hit, he's not a kid that's built to get hit five to 10 times a game.
- 13:19Speaker 2: He's a dual threat because he's incredibly fast and can escape the pocket.
- 13:23Speaker 2: But he needs to have a clean jersey for a game.
- 13:28Speaker 2: You need to keep guys off of him and I think that some of the heat he's taken is a little bit unjustified.
- 13:34Speaker 2: He does have to take better care of the football Right.
- 13:38Speaker 2: That can't be excused.
- 13:39Speaker 2: You know the turnover against Wake Forest.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It, you know it, killed momentum and it kind of gave him another, another touchdown, so to speak.
- 13:47Speaker 2: But I think that the last two games are just the timing of the of the turnovers and what it led to.
- 13:54Speaker 2: That's what makes him so big.
- 13:57Speaker 2: You know it comes out of him pressing and trying to do too much and it's because he's, you know, back there getting hit.
- 14:02Speaker 1: He has to do all that kind of you know he has to do.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I mean, last night.
- 14:06Speaker 1: He's running around for his life, you know, and he's making he's got to trust it.
- 14:11Speaker 2: You know he's going to trust it he's gonna he's gonna fumble.
- 14:13Speaker 2: You know there's gonna be a game where he where he fumbles and you're just gonna have to take the good with the bad yeah, you could tell the difference.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I mean, you look at uh dj, he's just like a rock back there, he gets hit and it's just huge and like powerful very powerful, got a powerful arm.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Uh, it's, you know, and that's the difference.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Right now you have just the athletes right now at a program you know.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Clemson's one of the top program in the conference.
- 14:39Speaker 1: They've been doing it now for 10 years with Dabo.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is a senior-laden Clemson team, especially along the lines.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I mean that defensive line.
- 14:54Speaker 2: You can make a case for them, having a two-deep of guys that are going to be on NFL rosters.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Some of them have some injury issues.
- 15:01Speaker 2: You never know how that's going to shake out, but you can see it.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah, like the guys that they.
- 15:06Speaker 2: You know Peyton Page, a guy who's a freshman or a true sophomore who's just out there dominating a 24-year-old Dylan Gibbons or however old he is you know that's a, that's a big man and this is a teenager that's just throwing them around Like they.
- 15:20Speaker 2: You know they have the guys up front that and that's what.
- 15:24Speaker 2: That's what you got to get.
- 15:25Speaker 2: You got to develop that, you got to recruit that and you know we're just not there yet to compete at that level.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I saw the offense try to get the ball to Johnny Wilson.
- 15:35Speaker 1: It's just you could see last night that connection is not quite there yet.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Um, yeah, it's just just off.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I mean he, you know, wilson, he wasn't able to separate uh from the clips and dbs, but it doesn't necessarily mean that he wasn't open right, he's so big throws.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, throws are put in some different spots, he's got a better.
- 15:57Speaker 2: You know there's one where he's got one-on-one coverage and he overthrew him by about 10 yards, but it's because he's got a guy right in his face.
- 16:04Speaker 2: You know he's about to get hit.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Yeah, gotta let it go.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's hard to put that on the qb, yeah it's just, you know tough game, but like we had the flor.
- 16:13Speaker 1: the Florida States got a lot to play for they had a ton to play for.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I mean you, you, hey, you went out and you're sitting at nine and three going into postseason and you're talking about a 10 win season, when last year, you know, you started oh and four and lost to an FCS team.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:29Speaker 1: That's so you know there's still a ton to play for, but there is.
- 16:33Speaker 1: But you're going to have to clean them up.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Just don't make it two and three.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Yeah, no, at least that gets you in a bowl, though.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like I said, I think, anything under three and two and you're going to start really looking about start getting those hot boards ready.
- 16:51Speaker 1: When you were talking about defense earlier.
- 16:54Speaker 1: What is it that you're not seeing on the defensive side of the ball?
- 16:59Speaker 1: The secondary Secondary.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean for me there's too many breaks in communication and too much confusion on that back end.
- 17:10Speaker 2: And I get it.
- 17:12Speaker 2: We talked about the touchdown that Thomas gave up there where you're in zone and he follows the inside receiver too far inside and he can't get back out to that flat.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But he's a freshman so you kind of expect maybe something like that in a big game.
- 17:28Speaker 2: But they I'm talking about the upperclassmen, the guys that have been here with fuller for the last two and a half years you know it's there's still too much breakdown and confusion and you know guys creeping up way too far when you know that that back end is your responsibility to help.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I mean I don't know if it's, you know they're not getting it in the coaching and the translation or if they're just having breakdowns where they.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I don't know man, but it's two and a half years into it, they're still way too much wide open.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Just I don't know they're still way too much wide open.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Just I don't.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I don't know they played better last night.
- 18:08Speaker 2: They did better, but Clemson didn't really test on the outside that much.
- 18:12Speaker 2: You know they.
- 18:13Speaker 2: They kept more of just kind of throwing it to the side and keeping them, keeping them running side to side to try to wear them out.
- 18:19Speaker 2: It just for me, the secondary has to improve and it's got to start after the bye week.
- 18:27Speaker 2: You know you're going up against Georgia Tech and Jeff Sims, who is not a strong passing quarterback, you know.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I'll put it as nicely as I can.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You know, if you let a guy like him, or if you let Anthony Richardson down the line, come in and have a lot of success throwing the football, you know for me that's gonna be the last straw, man.
- 18:47Speaker 2: You got to make a change, yeah with the secondary with something that's going on and like I don't want to hear that, that you know we don't have the talent or anything, because these guys were talked up all preseason.
- 18:56Speaker 2: You know they were on lists.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So marion cooper I know he's been dealing with injuries.
- 19:00Speaker 2: You know kevin knowles was was hyped up a lot and all he's really done so far is just give up a lot of ground on slot receivers.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I'm just I haven't been impressed and I know that you know we've played some really good receiving core and good quarterbacks and stuff like that.
- 19:17Speaker 2: But I mean, it's just, it's been an all-year thing.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to see the breakdowns, you know, like you see a lot of maybe jumping the routes trying to maybe make that big play and that's that's kind of yeah, that's, that's kind of the thing is I, I could handle, I could.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I could deal with it if it was guys jumping routes and trying to make plays, you know.
- 19:36Speaker 2: But what?
- 19:36Speaker 2: What I can't deal with is a guy giving up the outside or giving up the inside and then taking a bad angle to where, yeah, a two-yard catch turns into a 14-yard gain because he's got wide open space to run.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Like that.
- 19:50Speaker 2: To me that's either a bad scheme or you're not getting through to your defensive back on why you can't line up here one or the other yeah.
- 19:59Speaker 2: So I mean, I don't know, man, that's my biggest gripe defensively.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I'm not going to get into the.
- 20:04Speaker 2: The.
- 20:05Speaker 2: You know the, the problems getting worn down in the running game because we're beat up up front.
- 20:09Speaker 2: You know that's going to happen.
- 20:11Speaker 2: But you know secondary has got to take over the second half of the season.
- 20:15Speaker 2: That's what's keeping this defense from being able to get teams off the field on third down while they're finishing drives in the end zone.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I don't think secondary has the step to play.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Bottom line, bottom line, bottom line.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that is the bottom line.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Well, you know, there was some big games yesterday.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Did you see that Tennessee-Alabama game?
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a wild one, knoxville was going crazy.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, had some just fireworks going off, man that that, uh, that was fun what's his name?
- 20:49Speaker 2: Jalen hyatt five touchdowns.
- 20:51Speaker 2: It's been a long time since I've seen alabama get lit up like that through the passing game.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But they you know they couldn't cover that guy no, tennessee's got a really good offense and they were able to yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Really good offense and they were able to stand tall on defense just one time.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Even with the big fumble that they gave away.
- 21:12Speaker 1: They were able to overcome that and keep battling back.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I think that was the biggest surprise to me is that they had an absolutely just mind-numbingly horrible turnover and still came back to win.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Very impressed by that win.
- 21:27Speaker 1: They well you know they're tennessee's.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Now you know, I wouldn't be surprised if alabama runs the table still.
- 21:35Speaker 2: You know, yeah, I wouldn't either.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I mean, you know it's, you got lane, they got lane.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Kiffin still still on the schedule?
- 21:41Speaker 1: yeah, that old miss game looking big in the SEC Florida.
- 21:45Speaker 1: You know they came up short at home against LSU.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Um Jaden Daniels had a big night.
- 21:53Speaker 1: He had six total touchdowns through for 350.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Another three passes through the air, three, three rushing touchdowns um Florida's defense not looking too sharp.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And it happened a lot of.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It happened right after halftime, so like kind of what we've been seeing you know the depth.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Depth plays an issue.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Um, and I'll be.
- 22:16Speaker 2: You know that that's daniel's playing that game.
- 22:18Speaker 2: That's the best game he's played right at lsu yep so you know it.
- 22:23Speaker 2: First of all, I'm you know I'm surprised that that lsu came in and did that at at the swamp.
- 22:30Speaker 2: So you know that was that was surprising to me, but you know it well.
- 22:34Speaker 2: It's like, like you said, four and three.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I mean that I I was, you know.
- 22:38Speaker 1: You say I was saying all year for the gators is you got your first year head coach?
- 22:41Speaker 1: If you could get a bowl, that's a good year.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I mean we're in year three at FF Still fighting to get it.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think the goals are actually the same.
- 22:52Speaker 1: That's going to be a huge game at the end of the year, I really think, and so is the Miami game, so is Georgia Tech, so is Syracuse, so is Louisiana.
- 23:02Speaker 1: All the games matter.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Nothing's a guarantee.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I mean you could see him going any other any way.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Really could.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you could see him going.
- 23:10Speaker 2: I could see him 5-0 to.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I mean honestly, you know, if things fall off and just completely derail, you go lose out.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Oh Jim, yeah, Shuttle's here, man.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Oh man, hey.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Guess what, though?
- 23:28Speaker 1: We're going to talk to you again coming up.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It's a bye week.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Do you got any recruiting nuggets to throw in as we get ready to go here?
- 23:40Speaker 2: Oh, just tidbit.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Big news is you know that Zechariah Owens, big flapjack offensive lineman, a D committed from Clemson.
- 23:45Speaker 2: All sides are positive for Florida State flipping them.
- 23:49Speaker 2: He made a DJ Chester, which is another huge offensive lineman group, both out of McDonough, georgia.
- 23:55Speaker 2: So that's something to keep an eye on.
- 23:58Speaker 2: They were both at the game last night.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I'm sure they love the environment.
- 24:02Speaker 2: It's just, you know you've got to keep getting those big uglies on the offensive line and up front.
- 24:08Speaker 1: You're the difference.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Look how close we are.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Yeah, those are two guys that you really need to keep an eye on going closing this thing out.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It's the last two pieces of this offensive line class.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:21Speaker 2: That's.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I mean other than that man.
- 24:23Speaker 2: They just.
- 24:23Speaker 2: You know you keep trying to win games and hope you're impressing kids.
- 24:27Speaker 2: It's all really about the 24 and 25 classes.
- 24:30Speaker 2: I only think Florida State's taking maybe four or five more kids from the high school ranks and you know all those are pretty much zeroed in on their targets, so I don't think you're going to see any late guy pop up or anything like that.
- 24:44Speaker 1: All right, well, hey, hey, man, thanks for joining us.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Um, you know it, man, we'll talk to you again over, uh, the next week or on the bi-week, maybe get some updates on some some more recruiting and look forward to the georgia tech game.
- 24:57Speaker 1: But like always, jimmy man, thanks for joining us.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Man, we'll talk to you next time.
- 25:01Speaker 2: No problem, all right, all, no problem.
- 25:06Speaker 1: All right, all right, all right.
- 25:09Speaker 1: So big thanks to Jimmy Reno.
- 25:12Speaker 1: We're going to talk a little FAMU coming up later in the week, a little bit of Miami football breakdown too.
- 25:18Speaker 1: We'll talk some more of the games.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Enjoy your Sunday.
- 25:21Speaker 1: We'll talk to you next time.
- 25:43Speaker 2: North Florida Sports Network.

- 25:48Speaker 2: North Florida sports network.
- 25:51Speaker 2: We got a shuttle.
