- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh, it says to start our podcast right now, Taco,
- 0:03Speaker 1: I'm ready, all right, Welcome to another episode of The
- 0:06Speaker 1: Lynch and Taco Show Off the Air podcast. Here, that's Taco.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Bob President accounted for I would be Pat Lynch, and.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I was just flashing back to school days when they
- 0:15Speaker 2: go Pat here and Bobby President, even though we weren't in
- 0:22Speaker 2: the same school, you know, and then there'd be the
- 0:23Speaker 2: smart ass in the class. How was that every now
- 0:25Speaker 2: and then?
- 0:26Speaker 1: But uh, what would you answer? President?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:31Speaker 2: President, that was one of them. What was the other one?
- 0:35Speaker 2: I don't know, but when they you remember the one
- 0:39Speaker 2: story about the big football player in my class. Ryan Roberts.
- 0:44Speaker 2: We're fresh at winter Park High in Spanish.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Keep in mind you have your winter Park Wildcats shirt
- 0:53Speaker 1: on today, still live in the high school? Dream are we?
- 0:56Speaker 2: And what My daughter called me out on it the
- 0:58Speaker 2: other day and said, you wear that shirt. She said,
- 1:02Speaker 2: it's it's like a sh medium, But every time I
- 1:07Speaker 2: wear it, somebody goes, oh, I like the shirt, but no.
- 1:10Speaker 2: So when I was in winter Park High, I want
- 1:12Speaker 2: you to keep in mind that I was about four
- 1:14Speaker 2: foot nine and weighed about eighty seven maybe ninety pounds,
- 1:18Speaker 2: and so picture me and they're going through, Yeah, I'm
- 1:25Speaker 2: gonna call your name and it's Spanish, so call your
- 1:28Speaker 2: name and then respond with what you want to be,
- 1:31Speaker 2: what you prefer, your preferred name, like for me, Robert,
- 1:35Speaker 2: you go Robert, and I said, here May, I'm oh Bob.
- 1:40Speaker 2: But the way that I talk and have my whole life,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I've always had a deep voice, deeper than you know
- 1:49Speaker 2: for a kid that's four or nine and scratting paperbag
- 1:52Speaker 2: wet you know what I'm saying, or wet paper bag,
- 1:54Speaker 2: whatever that shit is.
- 1:55Speaker 3: So all of a sudden, I've got this.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Football player in front of me who's massive, right, like
- 2:04Speaker 2: he had to be alignment or something. He went on
- 2:05Speaker 2: to play for Georgia. I believe too.
- 2:07Speaker 3: But uh And.
- 2:10Speaker 2: When I said, you know, I knew some of the
- 2:12Speaker 2: people in the class because I already served with him.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And then but this dude had we hadn't met, and
- 2:18Speaker 2: he goes.
- 2:20Speaker 3: He's looking around and he's like, did you say that? Yeah?
- 2:25Speaker 3: I go what's going on? He goes, Hey, I'm Ryan.
- 2:28Speaker 3: I go Bob.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And he was like a bodyguard for me for my
- 2:32Speaker 2: entire high school career.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Oh, he's impressed with your deep manly voice in ninth grade.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Not that he just like messing with me, like, but
- 2:41Speaker 2: his name was Roberts, so I was before him being
- 2:46Speaker 2: Robert Miller.
- 2:47Speaker 3: And so then he did his voice and he goes.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Here, big guy, you know, and he's like, damn it,
- 2:56Speaker 2: he goes man, I'm Orian and but so anyway, no, we.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Ended up becoming buddies. We're gonna go fishing together. We
- 3:03Speaker 3: talked about a bunch of times.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But that just on a on a present day note.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I bet there's not a lot of teachers anymore who
- 3:10Speaker 1: ask students to recite their preferred name that you don't
- 3:15Speaker 1: You don't do that anymore.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Most of them are the no, no, whole nother.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah. So anyway, so.
- 3:23Speaker 2: What he'd do is we'd be walking down the class
- 3:26Speaker 2: or down the hallway, and it was closed in hallways, right,
- 3:31Speaker 2: and we'd be walking and all of a sudden we'd
- 3:34Speaker 2: be walking by and he just just pushed me right
- 3:38Speaker 2: into the locker and I was like, up, a bitch,
- 3:40Speaker 2: is this gonna happen all the time. He's doing it joking, right,
- 3:43Speaker 2: And then it's Delta David and I he's the exact
- 3:45Speaker 2: same size as me, little dude and at the time,
- 3:49Speaker 2: and and then one day at Dave's like laughing, and
- 3:54Speaker 2: then about two days later, say, he pushed Dave into
- 3:57Speaker 2: the locker.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Dave's like, dude, I didn't, what are you doing?
- 4:01Speaker 2: And anyway, so he did it just a mess with
- 4:03Speaker 2: he is you see what I did, got your buddy.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Because you ever need anything, you guys need anything, you
- 4:08Speaker 2: let me know. So we knew him. And then these
- 4:11Speaker 2: two other football players twins that were all like our
- 4:16Speaker 2: bodyguards if needed See.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I never really had the joy of being terrorized in
- 4:21Speaker 1: public school, potentially terrorized, which you know, you hear the
- 4:26Speaker 1: stories of the bullying when yeah, dude, twelve years of
- 4:29Speaker 1: Catholic school, they just won't to put up with any
- 4:32Speaker 1: of that stuff. If you you know, you tried pulling
- 4:34Speaker 1: that crap, they just threw you out of the school. Yeah,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and you know, like next up, well there's a waiting
- 4:39Speaker 1: list to get in here.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Catholic school was was in private school just genius in
- 4:44Speaker 2: their own way, just so not only not only because
- 4:48Speaker 2: the structure you learn and following the rules, but also
- 4:51Speaker 2: you don't have to mess with outfits.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Well yeah that was a bonus too. And I can
- 4:55Speaker 1: tell you looking back, looking back, there's one thing now
- 4:59Speaker 1: that I I probably never said thank you enough to
- 5:02Speaker 1: my parents, because.
- 5:04Speaker 3: You should text your mom after the show. And another
- 5:06Speaker 3: thank you.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I had this conversation with her just the other week
- 5:10Speaker 1: or mentioned it. It came up. I didn't realize how
- 5:15Speaker 1: much it was for them to scrape together the funds
- 5:19Speaker 1: to put me and my three siblings all at the
- 5:22Speaker 1: same time through Catholic school. Hey, relative to today's costs,
- 5:26Speaker 1: and they were just on.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Normal person salaries.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We were. That's where I'm not living high on the hog.
- 5:34Speaker 3: No, no, I'm not pointing that out for listeners that
- 5:36Speaker 3: wouldn't know. And same with me. We had a shitload
- 5:40Speaker 3: of kids and you know.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Just had no idea, you know, what they were doing
- 5:44Speaker 1: to pull that all together. So that was it was cool.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And you know, as much as I goof on, I'm
- 5:50Speaker 1: really not into the whole religious aspect of things anymore.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I believe in God. I'm spiritual in my own way,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but I just I have and I'm on the record
- 6:00Speaker 1: for my issues with the Catholic Church. I am not
- 6:02Speaker 1: going to knock the education I got out of that.
- 6:07Speaker 1: It was really good.
- 6:08Speaker 2: You being bad at math doesn't matter. I mean, that
- 6:11Speaker 2: has nothing to do with them.
- 6:12Speaker 1: That's no, it's just that that was I got through
- 6:15Speaker 1: it though, but it just it was a good education.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I benefited from it big time. And if I had
- 6:23Speaker 1: it to do over again, I wouldn't change anything. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: don't think it for you.
- 6:28Speaker 2: So, you know, do you remember how my parents, I
- 6:30Speaker 2: don't know if I ever told you this, how they
- 6:32Speaker 2: almost got me to go to Saint Margam Mary.
- 6:34Speaker 1: No.
- 6:35Speaker 2: There was a place right across the street called Brandy Wines,
- 6:39Speaker 2: famous saying with shop in winter Park, right on mak
- 6:42Speaker 2: Ap And my mom said, you know, Bobby, if you
- 6:46Speaker 2: go to Saint Margaret Mary, Bobby, you know, Bobby, if
- 6:50Speaker 2: you go to Saint Margot Mary, you get one of
- 6:51Speaker 2: those pickles every day because they had, you know, a
- 6:54Speaker 2: deli to have the big old pickle jar and the
- 6:56Speaker 2: pickles are.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Like, bribe you with pickles this big.
- 6:58Speaker 3: And I almost I almost, I almost caved.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And uh anyway, so I wish I would have gone,
- 7:06Speaker 2: you know, but but the experiences that I had in
- 7:08Speaker 2: public school too, now, I'd never give them up.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Well, it was it was most of my friends all
- 7:14Speaker 1: went to public school that lived well, you know, there
- 7:18Speaker 1: were some that went to the Catholic schools with me,
- 7:20Speaker 1: but yeah, uh, especially when I got the high school.
- 7:23Speaker 1: My friend my friend group locally was a lot more varied,
- 7:27Speaker 1: and a lot of them went since public school. The
- 7:30Speaker 1: one I will never forget these twins that were good
- 7:33Speaker 1: buddies of mine, Donnie and Eddie, that ran with they
- 7:37Speaker 1: where they lived, their house was in this little zone
- 7:43Speaker 1: that made them go to a school that nobody else
- 7:47Speaker 1: in the general area went to. They had to go
- 7:48Speaker 1: to this school that was a little bit further away.
- 7:51Speaker 1: They were like two of the only white guys in
- 7:54Speaker 1: the entire school. And Eddie in particular, he he's like, man,
- 8:01Speaker 1: I just I can't do this. He was scared, little
- 8:05Speaker 1: physically scared. And the dude never went never went to school.
- 8:10Speaker 1: He would go and just show up for a few
- 8:12Speaker 1: minutes and then just leave and to he just felt
- 8:18Speaker 1: unsafe there. And his brother, you know, he was like
- 8:23Speaker 1: he skipped a lot too. To this day, I still
- 8:25Speaker 1: don't know really how they ended up graduating because they
- 8:29Speaker 1: never really went. I know, Eddie got into like the
- 8:33Speaker 1: the Decca thing there where he would go off campus
- 8:36Speaker 1: and was doing some sort of trade stuff.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Yeah, like OJT on the job training.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Something like that.
- 8:41Speaker 3: But you did that, didn't you know? They didn't offer that. No, yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 3: I did it. Two years they get two of the two,
- 8:50Speaker 3: the only white guys in this school.
- 8:52Speaker 1: The school is called Suncoast, right, Sun Coast High School,
- 8:55Speaker 1: which now, by the way, is one of the best
- 8:58Speaker 1: schools in pob Beach. It's a magnet school. That's awesome
- 9:01Speaker 1: and uh, you know interesting. But in my junior high.
- 9:05Speaker 2: The flip side of that, uh shoot, I forget his name.
- 9:11Speaker 3: He's a buddy of mine, but he goes by.
- 9:13Speaker 1: He doesn't know now, it just was.
- 9:16Speaker 3: On the tip of my taunts, and uh he goes Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Remember I was the only black guy hundreds, which which
- 9:25Speaker 2: in hindsight, in our grade he was, I'm pretty sure,
- 9:30Speaker 2: like in my you know, my class.
- 9:32Speaker 3: But uh great, dude, you know, just solid. But anyway, wait,
- 9:38Speaker 3: what do we do? I just lost my brain.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Those two kids, Oh that was just they were they
- 9:45Speaker 2: were foreshadowing, just pencil whipping those two through. I bet
- 9:50Speaker 2: that's exactly it. Like, hey, we got to have a
- 9:52Speaker 2: certain passing right now.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Well, the school at the time then was had you know,
- 9:57Speaker 1: a notorious reputation for just you know, let me see,
- 10:03Speaker 1: it's way when you're seeing your students on the nightly
- 10:05Speaker 1: news on a regular basis, there's problems.
- 10:08Speaker 3: It was one of those situations.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Look at it and explains why my buddies were somewhat
- 10:12Speaker 1: scared to even be there. And it sucked because you know, look,
- 10:16Speaker 1: schools are to do a bunch much better, you know
- 10:19Speaker 1: now of having a representation across you know, different you know,
- 10:23Speaker 1: groups of folks.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And you just said that school turned into a phenomenal.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But it just where their house was was on this
- 10:31Speaker 1: tiny little sliver of the districting map which had them
- 10:38Speaker 1: going to that school rather than the one where the
- 10:40Speaker 1: rest of all of you know, our circle of friends went. Yeah,
- 10:44Speaker 1: we get the stories from them. It was just like
- 10:46Speaker 1: you gotta be kidding me.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Man, Yeah, you kidding. My buddies kids, there were.
- 10:53Speaker 2: One, I think it was three or four of them
- 10:56Speaker 2: that what that were in this just like you're saying,
- 10:59Speaker 2: just this little sliver almost like a peninsula that was
- 11:03Speaker 2: zoned for different schools. So and then for high school
- 11:08Speaker 2: it was winter Park. So they went to middle school
- 11:10Speaker 2: somewhere other than where everybody else went.
- 11:14Speaker 3: So when they got.
- 11:15Speaker 2: To Winter Park Hide they didn't know anybody. That would
- 11:18Speaker 2: I mean, that would be you talk about being nervous
- 11:21Speaker 2: walking into any school where you don't know anybody here, dude.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Yeah, So anyway, school I guess nowadays, at least here
- 11:29Speaker 1: in Florida. I mean, if you're able to get your
- 11:32Speaker 1: kid to whatever school you wanted, man, you're able to
- 11:34Speaker 1: do that, so you know. But anyway, that's great.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I mean, unfortunately you're seeing more and more schools closing
- 11:40Speaker 2: down because of that.
- 11:41Speaker 3: But we're not going to weeds on that.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Well, there's no weeds. That's just how it is. Yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 1: what are you gonna do? I'm gonna tell you, I'm
- 11:51Speaker 1: I'm on a personal note here. What I'm doing better
- 11:55Speaker 1: emotionally than I thought I was gonna be after what
- 11:58Speaker 1: happened Monday night down in Miami.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's one of those things. Again. Did the
- 12:03Speaker 3: life coach told you yesterday?
- 12:05Speaker 2: You just need to let it go and hang your
- 12:07Speaker 2: head high because you have a hell of a football
- 12:09Speaker 2: team and you're gonna have a hell of a football
- 12:11Speaker 2: team next year.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yes, true. But to try to get back to the
- 12:16Speaker 1: College National Football Championship as one of the two final
- 12:20Speaker 1: teams still standing is a mountain to climb, much less
- 12:24Speaker 1: trying to do it two years in a row. And yes,
- 12:26Speaker 1: I'm aware there's plenty of teams that are perennially great
- 12:30Speaker 1: at in the running for but especially this nil stuff. Man,
- 12:34Speaker 1: you're gonna see schools that really weren't even thought of
- 12:39Speaker 1: before all of a sudden, Oh look who's in the
- 12:43Speaker 1: conversation now. So it's like it's gonna be anybody's guess
- 12:45Speaker 1: who's in that game again next Yearena.
- 12:48Speaker 3: But I'm not guessing them. I'm saying you're gonna see
- 12:51Speaker 3: schools that you'd never think of.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Indiana is the prime example, which is what I'm getting at.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And this was Miami's first trip back in twenty plus years.
- 12:58Speaker 1: It's taken them forever, so you know, going forward, nothing's
- 13:02Speaker 1: a sure thing anymore. Which, yeah, it's at least now
- 13:09Speaker 1: we know that if you get a loss or too
- 13:12Speaker 1: hung on you, there's still hope to to move into
- 13:15Speaker 1: the playoffs.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but next season your Canes need to just focus
- 13:19Speaker 2: on every single game and quit.
- 13:22Speaker 3: It with the mistakes.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I'm not what we're talking about from the championship. I'm
- 13:26Speaker 2: talking about where they stepped in at those couple of times.
- 13:29Speaker 1: There you're going, uh oh, but yeah, I didn't know
- 13:32Speaker 1: if I was going to need some some therapy from
- 13:35Speaker 1: a real uh clinical type. But uh the life Coach
- 13:39Speaker 1: was was great dealing with me. I you know, he.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Talked you off the cliff.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I talked me totally off the cliff, pulled me
- 13:45Speaker 1: off the ceiling.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Had high, had a hell of a team that most
- 13:47Speaker 2: people would would love to have. And as everybody says,
- 13:51Speaker 2: I know, it's sports nauseum sometimes on our show, But
- 13:54Speaker 2: as Coach said, Coach said, you and I agree, and
- 13:59Speaker 2: Mike said, it's good that the.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Canes are back in the mix.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Hey, it really is keeping on the somewhat sports slash
- 14:06Speaker 1: entertainment thing. I wanted to throw this. I know you've
- 14:09Speaker 1: got a man crush on Pat McAfee. Okay, you need
- 14:13Speaker 1: to start watching the season two of the WWE Deal
- 14:17Speaker 1: on Netflix.
- 14:18Speaker 3: He was promoting it.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Yes, he's saying he didn't even want to do that, you,
- 14:23Speaker 2: but then once he saw it, he's happy he did
- 14:27Speaker 2: so he can show up his grandkids down the road.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Well, it's it. Wrestling fans already know this. If you're
- 14:32Speaker 1: just a casual wrestling there's a documentary series on Netflix
- 14:37Speaker 1: which really takes you behind the scenes in WWE, the
- 14:41Speaker 1: you know, the biggest wrestling outfit in the world, and
- 14:43Speaker 1: it pulls back the curtain and starts talking about stuff
- 14:46Speaker 1: that normally doesn't get talked about out in the open,
- 14:49Speaker 1: you know, the inside workings of you know, professional wrestling.
- 14:53Speaker 3: And tells you who the marks are.
- 14:57Speaker 1: And how it's all scripted out and how they come
- 14:59Speaker 1: up with Yeah, that's a great great throwing the lingo
- 15:02Speaker 1: around there. Uh, but McAfee featured uh big time in
- 15:08Speaker 1: the first episode of the second season of.
- 15:10Speaker 2: That Okay, second season, first episode, I'll watch that.
- 15:14Speaker 1: You don't have to watch the first season too.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Thank you, because you've got to keep in mind when
- 15:18Speaker 2: you say you need to watch this Netflix thing that
- 15:21Speaker 2: is already into the second season. You're talking to the
- 15:24Speaker 2: same guy who hasn't seen The Last Landman yet. Oh
- 15:28Speaker 2: you're kidding, man, I haven't even seen this week's Below Deck.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Oh only, my god, I've never seen a single episode
- 15:35Speaker 1: of that show.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I think you should.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I've got plenty of other stuff, but you know, The Landman,
- 15:41Speaker 1: which by the way, is renewed for a third season,
- 15:44Speaker 1: and with what happens in the don't say anything with
- 15:47Speaker 1: what happens in the last episode could go in a
- 15:50Speaker 1: number of directions.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I just don't want to. I don't. I don't want
- 15:55Speaker 3: to do that. If you know anything, I don't want
- 15:57Speaker 3: to talk about Landman.
- 15:58Speaker 2: You guys, when you do it, you did it with
- 16:00Speaker 2: a different show, and I'm like, great, now, I know
- 16:03Speaker 2: it's it's not gonna just leave it.
- 16:06Speaker 3: David, I don't want to watch it.
- 16:07Speaker 1: And I one more mention though it has nothing to
- 16:10Speaker 1: do with the plot, nothing, This.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Is where he screws up. He did it with another
- 16:14Speaker 3: great show I was watching.
- 16:17Speaker 1: All I was gonna make the comment was, look, you
- 16:19Speaker 1: and I are not big into following celebrities and hanging
- 16:25Speaker 1: on their every words and all that most of them
- 16:27Speaker 1: are full of shit in themselves. Billy Bob Thornton is
- 16:31Speaker 1: a dude that if I could sit down and have
- 16:34Speaker 1: a beer with, I think would be a fun dude
- 16:36Speaker 1: to hang out with.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I will leave that. I don't. I know he would,
- 16:40Speaker 3: but I don't want to. I just don't. You and
- 16:42Speaker 3: I are different.
- 16:43Speaker 2: My mind is so sharp that you know, like people
- 16:47Speaker 2: don't realize that they just think that I'm dumb, but
- 16:49Speaker 2: my mind's so sharp that when people say little things,
- 16:52Speaker 2: I already know what the what the hell is going
- 16:54Speaker 2: to happen? So I don't want I don't want to
- 16:56Speaker 2: discuss it.
- 16:57Speaker 3: That's what I'm gonna leave it at.
- 16:58Speaker 2: It's the it's the uh, the OCD and what is
- 17:03Speaker 2: the other initials?
- 17:04Speaker 1: You got a lot of initial soup going on over there?
- 17:07Speaker 3: That exactly. It's the rain man. I me where I
- 17:10Speaker 3: can figure shit out to other people, go, how did
- 17:13Speaker 3: you know that? It goes back to the chip. Anyway,
- 17:16Speaker 3: let's move on.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So what are we at at the text on Facebook Live?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Guy? I need medication at this point, I think you
- 17:29Speaker 1: do Steve.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Steve said, ah, just walk into school, find.
- 17:36Speaker 2: The biggest dude and whoop his ass. Oh never mind,
- 17:39Speaker 2: that's prison, not high school.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Hey, you know what, in some schools that probably would
- 17:48Speaker 1: make a lot of sense. I we're not endorsing that,
- 17:51Speaker 1: but you know, if you got to establish yourself as
- 17:55Speaker 1: the alpha, sometimes you need to write like.
- 17:58Speaker 2: He said, he's not he's not endorsing that. He's not
- 18:01Speaker 2: saying you should. George is checking in. Say good morning,
- 18:05Speaker 2: George from Titusville checking in from San Jose, Costa Rica.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I had a hooker there by by uh, first.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I lost your virginity to a hooker.
- 18:18Speaker 2: No, I didn't lose my I said that that was
- 18:20Speaker 2: my first hooker, more than one. That's where I was
- 18:25Speaker 2: doing the math on my god.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Anyway, No, that was the only one. But anyway, No,
- 18:32Speaker 3: I didn't. I didn't go knock on a door.
- 18:34Speaker 2: In a shady kind of place and and find a hooker.
- 18:39Speaker 3: And when I was a virgin, Oh, I soiled cheets
- 18:44Speaker 3: bro a you fan here are you? This is a
- 18:50Speaker 3: you fan here too.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I was happy and satisfied after we beat Ohio State.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Look well, that that I concur that was definitely getting
- 19:01Speaker 1: the proverbial monkey off your back and evening things up
- 19:04Speaker 1: for that damn Fiesta bal debacle years ago, which I
- 19:09Speaker 1: unfortunately had to see with my own two eyes.
- 19:11Speaker 2: And he was at the game. Think of that, George.
- 19:16Speaker 2: It's fine they beat him this time.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So anybody, if if you're watching this on Facebook Live
- 19:25Speaker 1: right now, we got anybody watching from Afar in the
- 19:29Speaker 1: path of this winter storm that's getting wound up and
- 19:32Speaker 1: ready to wall up a good portion of the country
- 19:34Speaker 1: this weekend. Man, we've been watching that the forecast waiver
- 19:38Speaker 1: and change just over the last few hours this morning.
- 19:42Speaker 1: They're trying to pinpoint exactly where the ice slash snow
- 19:47Speaker 1: line is gonna be. And you know, you gotta think
- 19:51Speaker 1: anybody who's near that boundary line is going please let
- 19:54Speaker 1: it be snow, just snow. Please let it no ice.
- 19:56Speaker 1: We don't want the ice out here.
- 19:57Speaker 3: You don't want ice. I'll tell you what.
- 20:00Speaker 2: As long as that snow line, I hope the best
- 20:03Speaker 2: for everybody that's gonna get walloped by the storm, which
- 20:06Speaker 2: is a large part of the part of the country.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But as long as that storm does not waiver south.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Oh, it's coming into the deep South. It's not gonna
- 20:15Speaker 1: get down here yet.
- 20:16Speaker 3: To the south I'm talking about.
- 20:17Speaker 1: No, no, no, yeah, but yeah, definitely gonna be swinging
- 20:23Speaker 1: down south for the ice and hitting the areas that
- 20:26Speaker 1: you know, that's not something you normally deal with on
- 20:28Speaker 1: a very regular basis, even in winter, you know. And
- 20:32Speaker 1: then then there's a talk the it's gonna affect Texas
- 20:36Speaker 1: big time. Remember their energy gride crashed a couple of
- 20:40Speaker 1: years ago when they had the big ice storm. I
- 20:42Speaker 1: forgot about that. Yeah, And it's like you know, second
- 20:46Speaker 1: largest state.
- 20:47Speaker 2: And didn't they they were the ones that got hit
- 20:49Speaker 2: by a horrific flood too, right.
- 20:52Speaker 3: That was all?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yeah, the campaign terrible.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Ayay, we don't want to go on a dark read. Sorry,
- 20:59Speaker 2: I shouldn't turn there. I totally different.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I mentioned that I like to have a beer with
- 21:04Speaker 1: Billy Bob Thornton.
- 21:05Speaker 3: He did so on a totally different note because I
- 21:08Speaker 3: don't want to talk about it what you might call it.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I'm amazed and I know we've talked about this before
- 21:15Speaker 2: and everybody knows it. I'm still amazed at how fast
- 21:20Speaker 2: Amazon delivers.
- 21:22Speaker 3: I needed something. Well, I ordered this.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Morning for my new phone, right, I got, I traded
- 21:28Speaker 2: in the phone and got a new phone for free.
- 21:31Speaker 3: So got it.
- 21:33Speaker 1: And it's is that an iPhone? Which iPhone are you on? Now?
- 21:36Speaker 1: What number?
- 21:36Speaker 3: Is it? Seventeen?
- 21:38Speaker 1: You got an iPhone seventy?
- 21:39Speaker 3: So I went for my thing.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Is that the newest one? I don't know, seventeen, I
- 21:43Speaker 1: don't know. I'm an Android guy, I don't know, yeah.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Exactly, but no, this is like it's a great phone. Anyway.
- 21:51Speaker 3: So I ordered this morning a new iPhone case and
- 21:57Speaker 3: a pair.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Of these shoes because these shoes. I don't endorse or anything.
- 22:02Speaker 2: They're just I have fat excuse me, fat feet like you.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Okay, what have they already been delivered? Is that what
- 22:09Speaker 1: you're Yes?
- 22:10Speaker 2: Can you believe that I ordered them this morning at
- 22:14Speaker 2: in our six to six twenty swing when we were
- 22:18Speaker 2: waiting for Bianki to.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Call in, that is, and they're at your house already. Yes,
- 22:22Speaker 1: Well that's well, that's because there's a lot of distribution
- 22:25Speaker 1: centers around here now and they stock high demand items.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I know, like I started this with, I know that
- 22:30Speaker 2: we talk about it all the time and everybody knows
- 22:32Speaker 2: Amazon's fast. I ordered new socks the other day. I
- 22:35Speaker 2: ordered them at ten o'clock at night. I had to
- 22:38Speaker 2: ask my wife, would you rather that I do the
- 22:43Speaker 2: four to seven delivery window or seven to eleven? You know,
- 22:48Speaker 2: dog wise, so Teddy doesn't have a conniption At four
- 22:51Speaker 2: in the morning, I'm leaving for work and uh, I
- 22:56Speaker 2: hear bass outside and I'm like, oh no, I'm not
- 22:59Speaker 2: gonna have to grab the bat to walk to the car,
- 23:01Speaker 2: and it's the delivery guy.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, wow.
- 23:06Speaker 2: So yeah, I know that's so dumb, and I know
- 23:09Speaker 2: everybody know whos Amazon delivery it's just even though we
- 23:12Speaker 2: have the distribution center, as you said, it's still just
- 23:15Speaker 2: my number.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Do you know anybody who is anti Amazon? Oh, never
- 23:19Speaker 1: buy from Amazon.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Oh, I've heard it. I've heard it at the text line.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I've heard it when when listen. I'm not trying to
- 23:25Speaker 1: rag on you. If that's your attitude, that's fine this
- 23:28Speaker 1: United States buy from whoever the hell you want.
- 23:30Speaker 3: To be anti Amazon.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I get it. I just like you know.
- 23:36Speaker 2: You were.
- 23:36Speaker 1: In my opinion, you're just really creating more work for
- 23:40Speaker 1: yourself than you need to to getting stuff at a
- 23:43Speaker 1: good price.
- 23:44Speaker 2: In many cases, I even said it this morning. I
- 23:46Speaker 2: understand supporting a local place. When we were talking about petties,
- 23:51Speaker 2: I said it, But I understand supporting a local mom
- 23:55Speaker 2: and pop business. There's certain things like I found socks
- 23:59Speaker 2: that I like, and these are them. I think they're
- 24:02Speaker 2: chicks by the way, see because the pink on the bottom.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Okay, but that you can't find elsewhere.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and if I could, it would be like the Walmart.
- 24:13Speaker 3: But do I want to go and deal with? Sure?
- 24:15Speaker 2: I go to Walmart. I go to Walmart probably two
- 24:18Speaker 2: times a week. But I just thought I'm just gonna.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Order them online and then the shoes that I need
- 24:24Speaker 3: to end.
- 24:25Speaker 1: The one thing I will say, as much as I
- 24:27Speaker 1: use Amazon, I don't just pull the trigger on Amazon
- 24:30Speaker 1: without spot checking.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Uh.
- 24:32Speaker 1: If it's an item that I know is readily available
- 24:34Speaker 1: at a local retailer, I will compare the price. I
- 24:38Speaker 1: compare the price because Amazon is as cheap as they
- 24:42Speaker 1: are and a lot of stuff, They're not necessarily the
- 24:44Speaker 1: cheapest when it comes to everything. Yeah, so you know
- 24:47Speaker 1: it's it's smart to Yeah, so that's it, all right.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Do you have any of their housekeeping stuff there that
- 24:55Speaker 1: you wanted to let me check. You've got your new phone.
- 24:59Speaker 1: You're amazed to how fast Amazon is.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Well, that's why, honestly, that's why I ordered this morning.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Normally, you know I'd be like, okay, I could just
- 25:08Speaker 3: go buy later, go by. But you know me with phones,
- 25:13Speaker 3: Look as I throw it down without a case. Look
- 25:16Speaker 3: at my last one. Go ahead and hold this bat.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Well, you have a camera right in front of.
- 25:23Speaker 2: You can hold it up to the camp software update.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Now you also don't need that. I know I'm off camera.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Hold on, let me do a little log in it bobs.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I care. I don't know if you all can see this, but.
- 25:40Speaker 1: There you go.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Look at the corners of this phone.
- 25:46Speaker 2: And then when the light turns off, which it won't
- 25:50Speaker 2: because I'm moving it. But look at the screen now,
- 25:57Speaker 2: all the cracks and this and that. Remember when I
- 26:01Speaker 2: ate it and I had I look at all the
- 26:03Speaker 2: cracks through it when I ate it the other week,
- 26:06Speaker 2: Remember when I had the scab on my forehead both
- 26:09Speaker 2: my knees.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Is that phone so beat up? They didn't even want
- 26:12Speaker 1: to take it as a trade?
- 26:14Speaker 2: No, no, the dude said, Angel. It was the guy
- 26:17Speaker 2: at the store who's a really really good guy, helped
- 26:19Speaker 2: me out.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Listen is the show too?
- 26:21Speaker 2: He said, keep it for a couple of days so
- 26:24Speaker 2: you know that it gets everything transferred. Keep them plugged
- 26:28Speaker 2: in near each other every now and then. I'm scared, though,
- 26:31Speaker 2: because this one's so screwed up for me dropping it
- 26:34Speaker 2: and stuff that I don't want it giving this one,
- 26:38Speaker 2: like Phone Aids the new one.
- 26:40Speaker 3: I want the old one given the new one.
- 26:42Speaker 2: So I'm afraid you're keeping close to each other Phone Aids, yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 2: very very deadly. So anyway, the heck I forget Oh yeah,
- 26:55Speaker 2: when I when I tripped that time and walking Teddy
- 26:59Speaker 2: and I got a big remember the big scab out
- 27:02Speaker 2: of my.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Forehead and my knees and my elbows.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that phone did not do well ever since then,
- 27:09Speaker 2: it's been a little off, kind of like me.
- 27:11Speaker 1: All right, before we sign off from this episode of
- 27:14Speaker 1: Off the Air.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I know I was fazzy today. I apologize.
- 27:19Speaker 1: If if you're headed out to Daytona for the role
- 27:21Speaker 1: X this weekend, we're gonna be over there for a
- 27:23Speaker 1: few hours on Friday down in the fan zone, come
- 27:27Speaker 1: by and see us. You can register to win. Welcome
- 27:29Speaker 1: to Rockville tickets, all right.
- 27:32Speaker 3: You heard that right, Welcome to Rockville tickets.
- 27:34Speaker 1: And if you've never gone out to the Speedway for
- 27:37Speaker 1: the role X, it's way different vibe than when there's
- 27:40Speaker 1: NASCAR there because everything is centered in the infield. With Nascar,
- 27:45Speaker 1: it's you know, in the stands on the track, in
- 27:47Speaker 1: the infield. It's a big throwdown mainly in the infield,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and it all happens there and it's round the clock
- 27:53Speaker 1: and it's cool, and there's people from all over the
- 27:55Speaker 1: world there. You never it's it's always good people watch
- 27:58Speaker 1: an event too.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Just took the words out of my mouth and I
- 28:01Speaker 2: said it on our show today. Just the trolley ride
- 28:05Speaker 2: in from from where Pat and I park. That alone
- 28:09Speaker 2: is super cool because you got to see the entire
- 28:13Speaker 2: infield and all the really really nice cars and I'm
- 28:17Speaker 2: not a.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Car dude, I drive a Pickoff and everybody, everybody who's
- 28:20Speaker 1: there is cool and inviting and welcoming, and then it's
- 28:22Speaker 1: it's a good time. So if we see you this weekend,
- 28:25Speaker 1: looking forward to that. If not, put it on your
- 28:27Speaker 1: bucket list for next year. Seriously, got it? All right?
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good time, and it's a good time
- 28:32Speaker 2: for all ages and plus kids twelve and under get
- 28:35Speaker 2: in free all weekend of the Royal X twenty four.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Somebody just forwarded me an article. I'll forward it to
- 28:42Speaker 2: you on what uh what do you mean? I'll just
- 28:46Speaker 2: copy the link and then email it.
- 28:48Speaker 1: An article about what some guy.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Having sex outside of a pie company. Anyway, I don't
- 28:55Speaker 3: want it.
- 28:56Speaker 2: That's if we're gonna use it for idiotology tomorrow. I
- 28:58Speaker 2: don't want to ruin it. That's kind of stuff I
- 29:03Speaker 2: get over on this side while we're doing a show
- 29:06Speaker 2: and I try to focus, I'm like.
- 29:11Speaker 1: The lynch, can can I wind this down? Now? Are
- 29:16Speaker 1: you done?
- 29:17Speaker 3: Even though I'm wound up, you can still wind it down.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I would like to point out that Taco's had zero caffeine.
- 29:25Speaker 1: This is just his natural state. No I have today.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I have the iced tea over there. Thanks for checking
- 29:32Speaker 1: out N's and Tacos. Off the air podcast.
- 29:34Speaker 2: PAT is titled Pie Company or Pie Anybody question mark
- 29:39Speaker 2: there get it?
- 29:40Speaker 1: We understand, we'll we'll get together again next Thursday.
- 29:44Speaker 3: So don't delete Pie anybody.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Jesus see you all later
