Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: The Buccaneers have finally landed a pass rush, oh my goodness, it was much of a need and sure enough.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: They did grab one, it might be a sneaky steal for the Bucc certainly monetarily, but we're gonna give our thoughts on that, the Bucc's Jason Light.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: Feel pretty strongly about what they just added in that pass rush room, also to the Buccaneers did make some other rooms, moves in the defensive lines, specifically on the interior, as well.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk all about these moves all across the board also to have some contract updates for some of these players that have signed with the bucks and also to some updates on Mike Evans his contract there with the 49ers because the last time we spoke with you guys.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: We did not know the numbers yet.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: But now we do know that along with two Mike Evans talking about why he specifically decided to lead the bucks to go to the 49ers also to another team that he was looking into signing with potentially.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: But there was some interesting words also said about, you know, why he picked the 49ers over the box and might have been kind of a gut punch to the Buccaneers fan base as well.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: But with me this morning, happy Friday to everybody, Caleb Skinner, our veteran writer at BG and then our editor at BG River Wells, gentlemen is happy Friday.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's a beautiful day here in the Bay to begin the weekend.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_03]: It is.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_03]: No, certainly is.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's hot.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's hot again.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: What's the temp looking at for you up there and in Boston?
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: We've got sunshine.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're, you know, we had a couple days in the 60s this week.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I was nice.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's almost all completely melted and gone.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I enjoyed it.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's nice getting a little chillier.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this upcoming week here.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: which is fine and good to sunshine and so can't complain.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to sweatshirt.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not having to put a opinion on so I'll get through it.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Madden here, our first commenter on the show, saying love the show.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go back in years.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Also to Blink coming in here, saying go bucks.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great Friday and there's been a lot of moves as well.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: River, you're going to a concert tonight over here in St. Pete.
- 2:09[UNKNOWN]: I am
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: Caleb's got a dinner date, what the lady and I'm gonna go to a brewery later.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a nice nice relaxed Friday for us But it has been very very busy and who knows a great day to have a great day.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a great day to have a great day Get busy too as well and enjoy the weekend, but let's let's go ahead and jump into the you know the biggest things And this is kind of gonna be an open discussion between all of us on here because there's a
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of things that have happened, but I think we start off of course with the signing here for the bucks with AQ Muhammad coming in from the lions.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: This one was one that we were all watching because earlier on I believe it was Greg Alman that it reported that he was coming in for a visit yesterday morning.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then when that usually happened certainly for veteran you're looking like in next couple hours he is going to sign with that team and sure
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: for $6 million.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there is a lot of incentives in there, and I'm sure River has a details more further on that.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: But initial thoughts on this when 11 sacs last year for the lions and someone that was, of course, behind Hutchinson and didn't play as many snaps, but his efficiency rate is something that really stands out and when you're looking at his stats, gentlemen.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_03]: for sure you mentioned those contract details that is a base value of 4 million chance to get to six within incentives.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_03]: So pretty nice deal there.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_03]: Muhammad has played some pretty good football, like you mentioned, high-pressure guys in Detroit last year.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_03]: Definitely had the help of Aiden Hutchinson, going to give you a little bit of an advanced metric stat here courtesy of Simmer Sports.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_03]: when he's on the field without aid in Hutchinson that is negative 0.083 EPA profile member for defense it's better to be negative because you're preventing the off from just going points.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_03]: With aid in Hutchinson on the field it is negative 2 0.2400 EPA play a set's three times higher whenever Hutchinson is on the field.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_03]: he had a supplementary russia.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_03]: He works best when he has another down a drush on the other side of him to where he can help get those sacks and in clean up.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of his sacks kind of came in bursts.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_03]: He had three against the cowboys in week 14.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: He had two against Minnesota in week 17.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_03]: He had two and a half against Baltimore in week three.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_03]: So not
- 4:32[SPEAKER_03]: That's like consistent ban across the board, but you're picking up to actually pick up stacks and it seems like you can really affect individual games at a high level.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_03]: So I think if you get an eddresser in the draft, which you're going to have to, right, I think at this point everybody knows what the first pick the books have, they're going to pick an eddresser and you'll have that rookie.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: You have Yaya Diave, and then behind him will be awkwardly Muhammad.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that would make him a good signing in that case as a really, really strong rotational adrocher that can come in and help assist other two guys on the field, veteran presence, play a lot of football.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what you're talking about this right before I have done, but
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: uh, part of that ridiculous 2017 New Orleans Saints draft class with much on a lot of more Ryan Rams that Marcus Williams album Kamara Alex and Zlonie and another current handmade book in here and uh, trade hundreds in at the third round there in Alquadimahabad.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_03]: So crazy crazy draft class.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_03]: Certainly they want a super bowl off of that.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but yeah.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely insane, but he's quite some good footballman.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_03]: He has veteran presence helped out Aiden Hutchison last year.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_03]: Really good technician to make up for his lack of athleticism and it should be a decent sign for the box I think.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, agree.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not necessarily the guy that every book and years fan, you know, wanted not the splash name, not the, um, uber athletic, um, uber talented guy that everybody wanted to bring in here, including myself, right?
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there was these names out there that we all wanted.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: We all wanted the bucks to go, go get a legit number one, you know, edge rusher there to pair a yaw yaw.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: But, um, solid guy around, you know, it's he's going to be like Matt said.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: And upgrade over brads and in probably Anthony Nelson, which is good, you're obviously going to be looking out for a show on pick now of an edge rusher.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to be improving how much you're improving.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not real sure we'll have to wait and see how that, you know, transpires, but good metrics overall still negative even without a guy like a Hutchinson there, but
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be interesting to see because he did so well next to 800 Center on the opposite side to excuse me.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: And y'all y'all is not necessarily that level, right?
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, y'all is not even 100.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: So it will be interesting what kind of steps he's going to be able to take to elevate himself.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's had a really interesting road to this point of his career.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not real sure on the specifics and things that happen, but I know there's injury histories.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: I know that he didn't play in years.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: I know he played one year in Chicago and was pretty decent there before, you know, obviously exploding onto the scene this past season with Detroit with 11 Sax.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: but real interesting career when you kind of dig into the weeds of it, and hopefully, you know, it is an elevation here.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's kind of a big guy, again, going with them wanting to get bigger here in Alexandria, Saloni has played with him.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: He mentioned it during his opening press conference that he's excited to get to work with him again, called him a friend, if I believe.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, not overly joyed with the how that's kind of transpired at the Edd rushing room, but I think it's this all a pickup.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: kind of elevate your floor a little bit.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just looking at what we're going to see in the locker room.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all got Diabi in in this guy.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: There's a big size dude, man.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, you've got the size out there.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's just going to be like you said earlier, River.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he does better when he has somebody better than him on the other side.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's where compliments his play better.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: and they're really going to bank on y-o-d-obby to take a really big step, not a step, but a very big step in order to do that, or you're just going to have to rely on him behind that too.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Be that pure, you know, address one, but I just, that's going to be the interesting factor and all of this.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: You guys said, you're going to have to look into the NFL draft for sure.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's paramount.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: There you can't go grab a wide receiver, future wide receiver one anymore.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: You can't go to the offense anymore.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: You're looking at specifically your past, Russian, whatever you do at the linebacker room.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: But there are some things that you do like about this guy.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: Just looking at some of the other stats on here, it was Type 11 and NFL.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, with Stacks, it's what we all look at when we're talking about edge rush.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Only one percent of defensive snaps yet those 11 sacs which is which is really impressive there at least for the efficiency Whenever he does come in he's going to have a lot more snaps here with the bucks of course But he actually he coat of what 53 pressures last season which you know put some in that same ballpark of max craws be Brian Burns
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Which is something that you like.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's also to something that, you know, Yaya Diabi was able to do on his end.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: And like you had mentioned there, I got a list to hear on those games where he had three, three sack performances.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I could mention two while we're at it here.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_03]: His pressure rate without Hutchinson didn't drop off drastically.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_03]: right at a 15.59% pressure rate with Hutchinson on the field 13.79 pressure rate with him off the field so he was still fairly consistent and how he often he was able to get to the quarterback and I think that's an encouraging sign going forward when looking to pair him with another what's going to be a rookie, you know, first round edge, Roger, the bucket needs going to
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: have a lot of faith in to get some something to be that guy and these are all great things like these are things like I didn't have the chance when the news broke yesterday with Greg putting it out there confirming in and such I was out not being able to see and digging to you know stats how successful he's at getting into the back field or things like that.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: So this is all like really new to me.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Um, these kind of like raised my level of, you know, optimism when it comes to that room in that unit right now, um, and that's great.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like I love to hear that and Matt obviously said don't forget about David Walker.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: So this bedroom is coming together a little bit and they expected big things from David Walker.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was looking absolutely incredible, um, up into the point that he got hurt.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: And so him coming back fully healthy is going to be huge.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, trying to see what's going to happen with Bras and how you're going to use him.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Nelson still TVD on what's going to happen there with him so yeah, I mean it's starting to round out pretty well You're going to get another young guy in here and it's starting to look good It might not be the most name worthy.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're not having the JPP is the the Shack Barrett's coming off the edges But these guys are 25 looking here's legend Jason here.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, but yeah, no, I mean it's it's it's looking like a solid group and That's something that I'm happy with
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: No, I would have been thrilled if we would have landed one of the big guys, but again, saving money, cost effective, I can't really complain too much.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and another one year deal here.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, you have the incentives there, but you don't, you're not pushing yourself into a hole here, you're not digging to yourself.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: All right, this is gonna hurt me.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's a pretty cheap deal, but you are lying on him to have that same predi-pettigree of last year's play.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: And if he can do that, it's just gonna be, I think the biggest question is just gonna see how he and y'all, y'all, y'all be works.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: If he can work off of y'all or not, and he's gonna have a lot more playing time as well.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be very interesting to watch.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go through a few things on here and like we did talk about You know, it was brought up there from Matt on David Walker.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, you know, that's that's a good point to bring up because he's someone that this staff feels really high on I believe Jason light was talking about him
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: during NFL Combine Week and the staff still feels like they've got something special with him and was a steal.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we saw it pretty early on when we were at those practices at, oh, okay, uh, Walker's pretty special there.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: And whenever he had that knee injury at first, it didn't seem so serious.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: He was limping off the field and such and then sadly, you know, later on, we did get the news that he was going to be out for the remainder of the season.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: I do that knee injury, but that would be great to see if David Walker can take another step there because there was already some special there and you know, to me, I feel like the ceiling might be even higher with Walker, or at least a floor than what you have a Chris Rasmwell gentleman.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he has the experience.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think we do it to remember that, you know, locker with the late round pick too.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_03]: So the, the help that he could come in and contribute, you know, in a huge way.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think should be a little bit measured, but he showed a lot of experience in college.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: He showed a lot of great production in college, which is kind of the opposite of what Jason might have been going for previously with some of these addressing for picks and prospects, kind of like
- 13:13[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, high athleticism, high ceiling, you know, Walker dominated in college or he was.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: So I think a high floor could be a really good thing for a rotational adjuster like himself.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_03]: And especially given that, we'll talk about this.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure all of these signings the books are making our guys over 30 years old.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_03]: They're not getting younger.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_03]: They're getting a lot older.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_03]: So it would be good to have some younger
- 13:41[SPEAKER_03]: be back there and help wrote it or not come right here robber rubber gun house right but like you know how to say it's a loan he's over 30 uh... not putting a homens over 30 uh... they just sign miles killover to be a backup safety and so teams got he's over 30 right uh... eight hundred rouns and stuff like that so
- 13:59[SPEAKER_03]: Interestingly enough, I think the bucks are still going to have to rely on these younger guys because right now they're bringing in an experience talent at value deals, which is adjacent like classic and it's great that he's doing that and it definitely helps shore those needs, but they're not getting any younger and the athleticism and then the the the ceiling potential there I think is a little less than a younger guy would really be able to to the ground running.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe Walker could do that and that would be huge for Tampa Bay if that was the case.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: This was already talked about earlier.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: J, thanks for hopping on here, but River River did bring it up early on.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: I did.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's gave the nerdy stats.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: So if you like nerdy stats scrub over a little bit earlier, I know you're on Twitter, but I don't think you can do that.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: But if you have a YouTube channel or a YouTube account, come over here, scrub to the early parts of it, but he did bring up if you want River really quick.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, really, really, really, really quick.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_03]: His EPA profile on defense is three times higher when Hutchinson was on the field.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_03]: His pressure rate only dropped by about 2%, but should be noted here.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_03]: 15.59% pressure rate with Hutchinson on the field of 13.79 without.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_03]: He only played 29 past rushing snaps without Aiden Hutchinson on the field.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_03]: of his snaps were with Aiden Hutchinson present.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's very limited data.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_03]: Is that extremely?
- 15:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_03]: This is the answer.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, guys, drop some comments.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: If you have anything or questions, topics, you want us to run through as we've been doing to begin this show.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to keep moving here.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: We got a lot to talk about this morning.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: So let's go over to another defensive line product here.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: And this is Asha Robinson coming in.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: A big man in the middle.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: And he has signed with the box on a one year, 10 million dollar.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: deal this adds to the inside there of course with the loss of Logan Hall which we'll talk about here in just a few who just recently signed with the Houston Texans who also had some interesting comments about why he signed with Texans but still nonetheless with Robinson here he recorded 65 total tackles which is a really impressive number for an interior defense of Lyme and definitely of his size but he was credited with 36 stops which is tackles that constitute a failure for the
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: ranking him among the top interior defense of linemen's and run defense or really just interior linemen at all, but then he maintains a career missed tackle rate of only 6.6% meaning if he gets his hands on a ball carrier.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: the play is over.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: He recorded 30 when the pressure is last season for the Panthers resulting in an 8.3% pressure rate.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Nearly 30% actually higher than his career average, which is something worth noting.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: And he also played in all 17 games last season.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: He had 658 snaps.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: So he can take on a big workload.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: He can stay healthy for you there.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: And to be honest with you, whenever we were previewing Panthers games for the box, when we were talking about something that stood out to us on that Panthers defense, because there was a lot of holes that needed to be fixed for the Panthers defense.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: Defensive line was not one of them.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: that was one that was going to always be a factor of making him big impact against the Buccaneers offence of line.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: But gentlemen, y'all starts here on a fellow Robinson signing with the Buccaneers.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: I like it, probably more.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: I like it, but I think the price might be a little steep, just like a slight, a slight overpay, not huge and drastic by any means, but it's a big dog in the middle, right?
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like that, that you can talk about getting bigger, that's a big boy in the middle that it is.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: going to be able to stop the run for you in the bucket in your struggle with that last season.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: We were able to see it.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: They were gashed here and there from time to time and that's mostly because you're playing a guy like an Elijah Robert who's a rookie with the collage.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: You can't sit being out next to Vita Vita Vita Vita Vita is having the eat up doubles every single time which opens up holes.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: So that's unfortunate and then you don't have linebackers obviously that are able to fill gaps over the proper way.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, this is going to help out tremendously.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, look at this guy.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: He is a tough.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about, you know, before on prior shows that we need some edge.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: We need some juice.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: We need some aggressiveness on this defense.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody is going to be able to speak their mind and not, you know, let's shit fly.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: And this is that type of dude.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: That cost money, Caleb.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: It costs money.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that's maybe that's where that overpay comes in, but You're gonna get you're gonna get run stopping.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's able to generate a little bit of pressure up the middle two Which the fucking ears have always been good at so he's gonna fit right in.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe Probably would have fit in a little bit better in a different defensive scheme But they're gonna make it work.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna figure things out and I think Todd Bull is gonna love this guy
- 18:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, uh, I think he said the brunt of it.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_03]: Um, really good strong veteran, they're going to have a good locker room presence and outside of that, he said his most productive years in the NFL the last two years at the Carolina Panthers.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_03]: So it's rare that anybody gets better when they're 30, uh, but it does mean that he can kind of really adjust to a scheme that fits him.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_03]: and he can perform very well in the role that he has asked to play.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: In this case, like you mentioned, right beside Vita Bayet, I would think pretty positively about his ability to help stuff the run, which I imagine will be his primary objective here in Tampa Bay.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_03]: But on top of that, you know, he had five and a half stacks two years ago.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, two and a half last year.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_03]: These numbers were an interior lineman.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_03]: Like you said, low than he racks at the tackles.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_03]: And he's had a lot of experience in it,
- 19:44[SPEAKER_03]: a really strong veteran to kind of bring to the line especially filling in for a guy he can do kind of Logan Hall sing we can also kick inside as well so some versatility there he can bring and I think it's a pretty good signing for the depth it's the type of sign they needed to shore up that interior line they do still need to
- 20:04[SPEAKER_03]: continue to do that, especially in the draft and maybe maybe one more sign of here there, but this is a really good start and I think he'll do very well, especially with great gains almost certainly gone on even hurt anything about him going on new team doesn't the way he's going to come back to him a bit.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I take a fence river to you saying that not many people get better after they turn 30.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm 31.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm starting to excel.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_03]: You are hitting your stride.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: But watch yourself.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: What'd you say the other and the other episode?
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: Who are you talking about that?
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: Who was that?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_03]: Forget it.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_03]: I promise.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not ages.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just talking about football.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: Guys.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_03]: I've never seen him do that, man.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_03]: God, glad you catch those things over there.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_03]: We need to start a dialogue around my language.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_03]: The book's game day.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was last week.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: It was last week.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: He said,
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's not good.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, it's not good.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, he's not a guy.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 21:15[SPEAKER_03]: not what I said actually like it went a bit.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_03]: I was trying to talk about like hey in the fifth and six rounds, you know, those quarterbacks won't usually pan out and be the guy, but a phrase that incorrectly for it.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_03]: My bad too.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_03]: There was a guy in the chat.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_03]: It was a really big fan of him.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_03]: I like him too.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_03]: Did not.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: My bad.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_03]: oh man tailing green man poor tailing green tailing green there is tailing green tailing green oh now we have a jake browning the bucks have jake browning that is true maybe not I'll need the draft tailing green or actually waste there you go six round thick on yeah I remember feels way better I like my SEC guys tailing green like them but the buck set back up quarterback yeah
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as long as they're not a Georgia player, as long as they're not a Georgia player, or LSU, or Tennessee, or that was something that you're starting to add up there.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_03]: Or maybe on this.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: You're starting to add them up, man.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, okay, we're all quick.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: Since I know the big comparison is us talking about him and Logan Hall speaking on Robinson here.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: So let's look through some quick stats here.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: So in 2025, Robinson had 65 total tackles.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: Logan Hall had 39.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: In two and a half sacks for Robinson, one and a half for Logan Hall, quarterback pressures around that same boat, 31 to 32, but these are interior defensive linemen.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not looking at that specifically, but in that same boat as Logan Hall who was, we're going to look at it here, weight lies to a lot different.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: I would say more athletic, you know, Logan Hall plays at a lower weight at 283, where Robinson plays at 320.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: run stop at least per PFF he's ranked or he's got a PFF at 34 which is tied for 10th in the NFL Logan Hall 14.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: Miss Tackle rate though 7.4% whereas Logan Hall is at a 12.8.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_03]: Not surprising if you watch Logan.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: So now, yes, that's when you think of all that's kind of what stands out to you the most throughout Elise's entire career with the box, but yeah, I thought I'd bring those things up because I know that's one, you know, when you're seeing him go off Hall, he's going with the Texans, you know, you're like, how are you gonna replace that?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: Who is going to be that?
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think you you certainly
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: filled that but you might have even upgraded a good bet and you know I think it's solidition there to match next to Vita Vega who and then also too you got to add in Elijah Cancey this guy
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest thing with him is always just stay in healthy man.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: Just stay healthy because that's your birthday.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: High all defensive interior alignment.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's your most athletic guy that can work his hands well.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, this is a nice trio of your interior right here.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Start off.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think your floor got lifted here gentlemen.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely and definitely upgrade over Logan Holler's times where he would see Logan and just kind of look like he was stuck in the mud or just Superman trying to tackle, you know, somebody I'm getting outside and there's not even close.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: So this guy's a veteran, yeah, I'd like to Logan and what he was able to do, but this guy is going to elevate it even more and kind of be a better fit there.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is a question here on YouTube asking is this from Lou Country Pirates and I know I'm probably in the minority, but I like the moves.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: Don't overpay and hopefully the additions work out.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: We could be one season away from a rebuild, so played it the right way.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: Once you've always been tallity on this, if you're Jason Light as you think this is the process that he's doing right now.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_03]: It's the process he's done, I think, ever since he's been GM outside of the Brady the Brady years were a fever dream of like I'm Brady when I'm only had someone and he'd be like, yeah, sure that's not even that's not even Jason in my opinion, that's all spy tech that's right in my personal opinion, I put all of that on just by
- 25:15[SPEAKER_03]: Well, either way, once pretty leaves, he gets really into value signings, which that's kind of what he's done every year.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't want to get a big splash.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_03]: He wants to get guys that are cheaper, who can have a high production floor.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what all this is, right?
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: And these are starters that he's bringing on.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: However, since Lonnie will start kind of getting well, we'll probably split reps of Bucky Irvings, so we'll get plenty of touches.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_03]: The guy's like that.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: are very JSON lite signings and that they are not splash signings that affect the cap too far down the future, but they will help out immediately.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_03]: in theory.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_03]: Like I said, my only concerns kind of with their age, but their experience, their way to position, and they'll be able to fit in, I think, pretty well.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_03]: So from that perspective, yes, I do like these moves.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think they need a lot more moves.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's my thing.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_03]: They need a lot of help, a lot, but help on defense.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_03]: And they've put a little small dent into it with these signings.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_03]: So
- 26:13[SPEAKER_03]: they got a lot of doing the draft and they got to do a lot in three eight and see maybe after the drafts post drafts for it.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see what happens.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah and I think that's kind of where I'm at with River 2.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's I'm more frustrated with the things that haven't been done than with the things that haven't done up to this point and I think most book and years fans out there most of our listeners that are out there are probably integrating through that.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's another question real quick one here from Eric on Facebook saying are we gonna draft a wide receiver now because of losing Mike Evans
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: if you did, it would have to be fairly later in draft.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_03]: You did get a mecca book a last year probably way too early, but he still had just flashes of brilliance last year, which is nice and he doesn't have any social media, et cetera, Instagram, remember that.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but comes that has shut that one down quickly with the bugs comes tag that okay, like 20 60 times So she's a man of social media account, too.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: Not yeah, I've been worse timing for that But I was like, oh my god, no, not right now.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_03]: Please not right now.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and Mekka and Booga could end up playing outside They got a get someone to play outside a
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: could be jail McMillan.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_03]: I think I've been talking about that with a few different people, but Mike Evans is an x-wider-saver really good at possession catches underrated route runner, which people on the national stage are going to see once he balls out in San Francisco.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_03]: But they don't have that archetype right now on the team.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: They do need like an x-wider-saver.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_03]: They have a bunch of like guys are great in a slot space finders in the middle of the field.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_03]: They need a burner, test Johnson can kind of do that, but he's not very big, so those contested catches is what ends up being a problem.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_03]: If they were to try to receive or have to be a big body guy, who they could get in later rounds, who might be able to kind of fill that archetype if they need it.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_03]: All right, zone guy, a go ball guy.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: Or trim up lemon coal, trim them up.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: Get them, get them, get them, get them, get them, get them, get them, get them, get them, get them, get them.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: to be one of the it's looking like the draft might be the exact same draft they had last year where they drafted like five defenders and then two of its players had a four-finers to open for us but it could be the same thing and you could get a wire to relate like it was as but it should be almost all defense guys almost all defense the draft especially early on as initial
- 28:50[SPEAKER_03]: rounds 1, 2, 3, 4.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_03]: That's all defense.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: You need interior, you need an edge russia, you need a linebacker, you still need no linebacker.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, regardless of whether or not of on a David returns the team, you still need a linebacker.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: So that's going to be a defense heavy draft and then maybe in the later rounds, we can think about offense and water seeer.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, and I'll make this easy.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: Um, that's a no.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: Um, no.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not happening.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, if you are going to go get a wide receiver do it in the free agent, you know, there's still guys out there, like a joint.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: One Jennings probably going to be a little bit more expensive.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: Keenan Allen, um, kind of that X wide receiver that Mike evidence is kind of known for the same.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: They do the exact same thing pretty much.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_00]: or you can wait till after the draft and see what's happening with undrafted guys or the free agent marketman's guys get cut after the draft.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: But now you don't go out there and get a wider receiver.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: You don't necessarily need them.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: You sign-shep, sign-unk, get him back.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: And you can test that out and go from there.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Devin Culp obviously can be involved a little bit more, especially in the red zone.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't need to get a guy in the draft.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: I would really like to see more of Colton, and I don't know how I was speaking with him at the locker room, cleanouts, and, you know, kind of just generic things that he wants to work under in the off season, and, you know, work with his body and such, but, you know, I think that biggest thing, to at least from what we've heard, is just getting down, getting down with the offense, getting down the plays, understanding where he needs to be, also to help in the blocking scheme, because, of course, defense of coordinators, going to know if Colbs out there on the field, you know, you're most likely looking at a pass play with him.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: So, getting in there where he can work more in the blocking schemes of things could help him, but he certainly is a threat.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: He could do some good things for you in the red zone.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some good size on him.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's got great speed as a tight end.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: So, but they certainly will have to find out what that answer is going to be at the Wider Seer position, because I think there is a hold there now, it's Mike Evans leaving.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: The punchy pride.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: At least for size.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: What's happening?
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: Tim Patrick.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're definitely some options that they can take to try and fix this, but we'll see if they end up doing any of those things.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: So Tim Patrick, you know, they're very underrated names.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, he's played a lot of places.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's with Jackson Bell, he's played it for Detroit too.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot of Detroit guys.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yep, Denver.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_03]: What a beautiful body guy.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: What about Sean Tucker?
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: You want to talk about Sean Tucker real quick because after one We're used to about Nothing there's nothing is there anything else to talk about really except for Sean Tucker But yeah, he's gonna be signing back with the bucks least on a tender deal for now Yeah, for now for now jacked at 3.5
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: million dollar deal there and it got interesting because of game well coming in from the Steelers and I don't know a lot of these there's so much out of half has happened so some of these contracts I'll just put out their kind of game well signed in a two year 14 million dollar deal but here's you know Sean Tucker coming in and you know this this rainback room is is loaded certainly to a fuck your ring can stay healthy and not deal with what he had to go through last year
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: But y'all stats on the kind of situation here as we're monitoring Sean Tucker and what that's going to look like with a potential RB1, RB2, RB3 and it seems like you've got two capable starters there with gain well and Irving then you add in the splash of Tucker which the staff certainly obviously likes.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, um, it'll be interesting.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think Tucker is going to stay.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_03]: I think in order to lure him away from Tampa Bay and beat that offer, he had to like offer him two years and I don't see a team offering him two years.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: So we will see how that goes.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_03]: But, um, I imagine he'll say on that tender.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: The bugs kind of need a power back and a goal I'm back and they tried to use Tucker like that last year and he did rack up quite a few touchdowns that way.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_03]: Um, it is, but yeah, but I do think he's more of a speedback.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's kind of his, his, his M.O.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: And.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be interesting to see where he fits in, it'll probably be similar last year.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_03]: I can't imagine he'll get a lot of touches, especially with kind of game well probably by the way, sorry guys, canning he prefers canning and he can't get a lot of canning too.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's some kind of thing for yourself.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, all right.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_03]: Kenny Gainwell is probably gonna take a good portion of these reps.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think you can spell Bucky for like almost half of his reps.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think they kind of know and we all know that Bucky Irving played a lot of snaps last year and it got him hurt because he's not that big.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_03]: So with that of mine, I think Gainwell's gonna get a lot of work.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how much Tucker's gonna be able to do.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_03]: They might try and use him on the goal line.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_03]: Again, but it's, but I do really feel like he's not much of a power back right.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_03]: I consider much more of a speed back and maybe that's where those pitches and kind of swings can come in handy.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_03]: But we'll see what he's able to do in Tampa Bay.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_03]: I actually have a pretty small role just like he didn't last year, definitive RB 3.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think his role probably diminished a little bit more compared to what he was able to see last year.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're shot a white kind of fell out of favor.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: in favor of, you know, Tucker a little bit more there, so now Tucker's back, you're probably getting a little bit better with Kenneth Gainwell over, you know, when it comes to the run game and then the passing game is well, maybe not when it comes to pass ballficking over her shot white with Kenny, so that's great.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then I think it's going to be awesome to see, I think it's kind of going to go back a little bit to how we were seeing it split when when Cohen was here between Rashad.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: and Bucky during that time, right?
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was a little bit more even snaps, a little bit more shares, which is going to be fun, right?
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to know, it's kind of going to be hidden, right?
- 34:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to know, are the Buccaneers going to pass the ball?
- 34:47[SPEAKER_00]: Are the Buccaneers going to run the ball?
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: And because it's going to be, hey, at any point, you could have one of these guys on the field and not understand, you know, maybe they're going to go out in the flat, maybe they're going to run, you know, go out whatever it may be, or all of a sudden they're running the ball.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: And it could be, you could have two vaccines, right?
- 35:04[SPEAKER_00]: You could run.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: with Kenny G and Bucky back there or Bucky and Sean or whoever maybe it's going to be a very dynamic versatile group which is going to be exciting to see and that's something that was very successful and Liam Cohen that wasn't as much last season.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm sure Zach Robinson is really like him this too.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I think of always the best thing that was able to do was with Jamir Gibbs and David Montgomery.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean those two that combo would just slice you in games man.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: We saw it.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen it before and out of nowhere.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you see Montgomery just gushing your gushing your gushing and out of nowhere here on this next series have a piece of this pie of Jamir Gibbs and just going to run right by it.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_03]: Sonic and Apple's baby.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the two of us together anymore.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're separated.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're separated.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, gives me that back.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: That man, I mean, we bucks fans have seen it.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's what it's a place that he brings to the table.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_03]: So, bucks fans coming from the last time the lines of bucks played.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_03]: And he had about six trillion all purpose yards.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think it was the number.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's going to be interesting.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: Next time we talk to Zach Robinson, how he feels about how the usage is going to go in this running back room.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: I would imagine, like you said, Caleb, you know, they might be more open-minded to kind of how it's going to look like.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: game to game you're not going to have a pure rb1 and name but the urban your pure rb1 So and what we'll get to Rashadway here in just a minute.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: He just found a new home here's a few other notes of course We were talking about our early Jake Browning his now Baker may fields back up coming from the bangles where he backed up jobaro for so long and did a very well job at it
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was about to bring it up.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: Does there some crazy thing?
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: What the wife going on and social media?
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what she makes some noise.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_00]: My role was at the last year, two years before, whenever he became like the starter one borough went down, she was wearing like these outrageous outfits.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: Remember she had like the all silver one with like the big.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: Bangalore be on and everybody was like, oh, like what are the going on, but we're going to have another be here and keep that super star ring in the arctic of the Tampa too.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: So okay.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah river follows on TikTok.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: So if anybody wants any insight to that river's got all this.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even have TikTok guys.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: And as far as on the oldest ones here, shoulders, I got it.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's what I say to all this one here.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: He's got us on our dates.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_03]: I ain't got internet, I ain't got internet, guys.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_03]: I ain't got internet, guys.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how you're running around.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: When you're on the grid, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Jake Browning's coming to back up, Baker may feel their miles, cool brews coming from the Pittsburgh Steelers, great pickup there and special teams.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: They've really, if you're talking about emphasis of upgrading the special teams, man, that has happened this offseason for them, but they're bringing in Caleb Roon all pro special teams piece there as well.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's practically everyone, at least from what we've caught up from on Monday when a lot of those moves were happening.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Those were the in guys that were coming in for the bucks now talk about the guys have exited we'll talk about Mike Evans a little bit further here in just a minute because we're gonna talk about what he had to say at his 49ers introductory press conference.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go over here.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: We'll start with Jamel Dean.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is one that we were keeping an eye on if the bucks were going to make a move here to keep him in Tampa after a solid season.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: But he ends up signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: for Dean.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: him staying healthy for the majority of the season last year and also with his play certainly helped with that contract, youngman.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it sucks to losing.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, but we weren't going to be able to we weren't going to be able to retain him by any means.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy that he's landed in a place like Pittsburgh.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's going to be a great fit for him.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy he got paid.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to suck man having him here, but you know, I think overall I'm just happy for him.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I mean, he did a wonderful job here when a Super Bowl, um, and just wishing the best of luck.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we'll, we'll slowly miss his veteran presence and his lockdown ability, especially a man to man coverage and we'll see if, you know, Benjamin Morrison can kind of take that next step and become that guy opposite his eye on my column that that Dean was.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mentioned, yeah, I mentioned right now.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_03]: I had a top five listed free agents like from most important to least importantly important to most important to retain and my number one most important to retain was she melding and that was because
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not super comfortable with Ben from Morrison's, I am a column starting outside next year, and that's what's going to happen.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_03]: They just actually re-structured, I am a column's contract, so they're actually kicking his contract down the road, which I thought was an interesting thing to do, given
- 39:59[SPEAKER_03]: but we've seen the last two years from him, but they're expecting him to be a bona fide CB1 or CB2 here in Tampa Bay next year.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_03]: And I figured with Dean's loss, you're going to have to fill that gap somehow.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_03]: If you don't want to start a replacement, which is, that's what's going to happen.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_03]: You still need a depth corner to be able to slot in there because right now the depth is razor thin.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_03]: Benjamin Morrison, injury prone, that last few years, you're playing football, so that's something to note.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_03]: And so I'm a column has just, you'll have these bouts of excellence, and then you'll see, you know, him gets a track on the field, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll see the, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll,
- 40:38[SPEAKER_03]: the play taper off is ability to be in one-on-one coverage and all the stuff.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_03]: So it's going to be important to get another DB and I think Jamel Deem being gone's more important than many realized I think because I think that is a really important position to have secure.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_03]: He played his best football last year and I understand why they didn't reassign him because he kind of played himself on the contract but they're going to have a different place.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I just kind of, you know, add on to that.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it is a thin class and I woke up this morning.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, where else do the book and you're like, where are they lacking?
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: And it's obvious that cornerback needs some things.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it's concerning, right?
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's concerning that you don't have any, like,
- 41:18[SPEAKER_00]: good depth for as a foremost Zion has not played out into what we have thought he's supposed to be Benjamin Morrison still there's concerns surrounding him his injury history even when he was in the game he still had his moments so hopefully he's able to be healthy but as mentioned here by
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: E M plus 15.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_00]: Peter report did put out some guys earlier this morning.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: After I put out my tweet talking about you know the cornerbacks concern, didn't they?
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Peter turns around and throws out Emerson and Russell Douglas named Swatch.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously Emerson is coming off that Achilles injury, but a couple of guys that you could probably get for cheap that are still on the block.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that that fall off from Zion was disturbing and just didn't feel of character of him and he was honest with us and you know, it's just like I had
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: I've got to fix some things and sure enough he does, but just something it does is a concerning thing and we're going to be interested to see what kind of news they do make throughout the rest of this offseason because you do have a lot of injury concerns with both of these guys.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely more and more Morrison coming from his college days, but Zion just got to play better.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: Got to play better and he was going to eat and eat in the live and that can catch the bull.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: that would certainly help to get to the jug machine.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: We already talked about Logan Hall, but here's a specifics on him.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to the Houston Texans on a two-year deal for 13.7 million dollars there for him and he also did mention and I'll have the exact quotes here, but he did mention.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: He wanted to sign with a team that he felt like was competitive enough to be a
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: It seems to get a trend of a few players that we've heard of that have signed out swear also to Christian Izian he's going to the lion this is a one that we've been in a very closely too But he signed a one year deal over there with them and Detroit Outside the last you know the last couple of years, you know the bucks playing the joy to lot The lions have had a good eye on Izian and he gets a really good opportunity here because
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: At least from him and his camp, it always felt like he wanted to get some more plain time out there.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't blame him, I don't think anybody on here blames him whatsoever for him.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we kind of heard some things right after the season two of saying, you know, I do want to get more plain time.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: And sure enough, it looks like he's going to try to do that with the lions up in joy.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't buy in some bucks exchange so far man serious.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_03]: I ain't trying to rob us didn't in here We got Alexander Looney and here we got Miles Killover with here for more line Of course Christian is he in going to play for them over there?
- 44:07[SPEAKER_00]: So like you wouldn't go back to Carl to Davis, you know, yeah
- 44:12[SPEAKER_03]: Indeed, truly partners in the former NSC Central, but yeah, they feel really strongly about JJ Roberts who was here last year served in the injury and they joined training camp against the Pittsburgh Steelers and they feel like he can do that same sort of thing that is in was here to do, which is to be a fill in at safety and at nickel if needed in Jurassic Jurassic instances play outside.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't have like one search-wise, but you're in a bad spot if that's happening, but really good Phil, Jack of Ultra Ace, Master of None, I think if he wants more playing time, leaving was the right decision, he wouldn't have gotten it here in Tampa Bay, especially with Roberts, hopefully being healthy again this year, they really like him, I think he can be that is the entire player for them, thus is he knows the lines.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_00]: And you got parishionned on their nickel-type team of disafety.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_03]: This, like, and then you can play a nickel and then you can play a nickel.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody?
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's a versatile defense table of those type of guys.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: Swiss Army Knife, if you will, it's the term that's used over and over again.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_00]: But deservedly so for Christian, he's going to be able to go get more burn.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: And that's good for him.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be able to prove it and show what he was able to show early on in his career once he was given the opportunity to start as an undrafted free agent.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_00]: So good for him.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot to mention, too, for the Lions Eddie Bridgewater going over there, they're going back to the end.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I do said, and really mention this with Jake Browning coming in, but that floor immediately has lifted to for your backup.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: Fairly, can I say that's really important, your gentleman, because I think that changes some things in philosophy for the bucks.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say, and you don't want it, we're going to knock it.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is wood desk right here, but knock on wood, you know.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: Just hope, you know, Baker does not get hurt unless it's just a small little thing where he has to miss a game or two, I feel way more confident with Browning going out there than what I had with Teddy Bridgewater.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just a complete fact on your pee, yeah, yeah, so.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: real quick that let's go over to Rashadwai because this is one that was practically we're talking about who was saying that they wanted to go elsewhere right after the season well that might have been Rashadwai because he put out plenty of tweets I mean he tweeted planes flying off like he was already leaving Tampa about 24 hours after the season and it for them but he's going to the Washington Commanders one that you know that if you're going to do your percentages of chances
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: that he was going to which team is going to go to is a 90% lean to Washington and he's has signed a one year deal.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_03]: Do we have the monetary to million dollars to one year to million dollars.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_03]: Potentially I was taking less money to play for Washington.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: That's what he really wanted.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: I actually kind of heard some whispers midway through the year last year.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_03]: That's
- 47:05[SPEAKER_03]: and then he made it very not subtle toward the end of the year last year so like making Jane Daniel's profile picture on on stuff like that.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_03]: So he gets where he wanted to go.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_03]: He gets to play Jane Daniel's on a extremely cheap one-year deal.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so, a lot of, uh, no brainer for Washington, I should say.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 47:39[SPEAKER_03]: little bit of trouble run into the gaps, but he's improved on that.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_03]: He definitely did last year.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_03]: So I think he's a pretty good back.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_03]: Should do well for Washington.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_03]: They got him for extremely cheap.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, it was about time in Tampa Bay.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: He, uh, he was thinking about that Washington move for a little bit.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: Ultimately, he had to do a little bit more
- 48:00[SPEAKER_00]: selling of himself to the organization, then the organization actually wanted him in the building, which is why it came in at $2 million instead of probably deserve probably closer like six or something like that.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_00]: If we're realistically speaking four to six range, maybe a little bit per year.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, again, great point here by Luke Country pirate.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_00]: They are still involved with the Jeremiah Love.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: Sweepstakes there.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: A Jeremiah loves probably not going any lower than eight.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: The two teams saw watch there with him are the Tennessee Titans at four.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously the Washington Commander is there at seven.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: So he could still be in a position where he is losing playing time right now on that roster.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_00]: Under contract is just Rashad White and Jacoree Croskey Merritt aka Bill.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: So those are your two backs.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: They've still got
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Eckler, Jerry McNipp, goes there as free agents, but Chris Rodriguez, Jr. just left to sign with a Jacksonville Jaguar.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, they're still looking to fill out that running back room there as well.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, interesting to see what will happen with white, but he does get a chance to reunite with Jane Daniels.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then, if Brandon and I, you can't stop going there, then they've got the three guys from Arizona State back.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: Arizona State reunion man.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get it all together.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: Get the band together, man.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, no, just Brennan I you can still furiously pounding on the door asking to be free over there.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to get it to it man.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_03]: He's probably not said that Rashad White successfully manifested his way there and now he's trying to do the same thing and Yeah, they have no reason to they have no reason to just give him up, so that'll be an interesting situation right right because he has no You know the tip bit on IU because he has no guarantees right now because of him losing contacts with the whole front office and coaching staff And they were able to varied all of that guaranteed money that he was due so
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: releasing in doesn't do them anything.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_00]: So why not try and fight a trade partner and hold on to him as long as it can.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: 10% Speaking of wider seabers, let's finish it off here in our last 10 minutes of the show and appreciate everybody hanging out with us.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: And if you do have any quick comments, it's like questions, topics, don't ask.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: And if you have any quick comments, like questions, topics, don't ask.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to put a river full of things.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to answer here for the next 24 hours.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's doing a full 24 hours.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to set a 7th on it's a 7th on it's a 7th on it's a 7th on it's a 7th on Yeah, it's a 7th on smack that subscribe button smack this subscribe button.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you some low country fire with the subs Oh, we're going to keep it Every 10 subscribers you're going to do up-downs for
- 50:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's getting worse.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: No, please go ahead and ask questions about Freed and see if we love to answer them.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_03]: They'll talk about the box.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: We have fun here.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: As long as it's not about the NFL draft and tailing green, then River will answer any questions.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's a tailing green question.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: No tailing green.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_03]: I'll take him.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_03]: I'm ready.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's jump over here to Mike Evans have finished this off and it's been It was a pretty rough last 24 hours.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: I would say for the box fan base to see this I mean both of you guys live it down here in Tampa I'm not personally a fan of the box so it doesn't hit anywhere close to how it hits You know you guys and I know you guys are you know reporters and you do a guy job of trying to be unbiased and everything But you guys grew up here family buck and years fans and everything just tell me
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: what it went, you know, what it felt like just to see him first off being in San Francisco, but then of course getting a signing photo out there and then, you know, seeing him in just a different place and not being at one buck.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's just got to be feel a little weird man.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think we're so good way to put it's a real, you know, I'm even from recording perspective.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we've talked to Mike quite a few times.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_03]: I've met and talked to Mike a lot of times, talked to him.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_03]: After he extended two years ago in free agency, talked to him in the locker room, you know, through interviews.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_03]: A very thoughtful answer to questions and
- 52:08[SPEAKER_03]: obviously the work he's done in the Tampa Bay community is very significant.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just a presence around Tampa Bay in general.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_03]: It's just not going to be there.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's the absence that's going to be pretty weird, I think.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_03]: But we've talked about this so many times.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think he definitely deserve the right to go do that to find a place where he can compete.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_03]: I am Lukey Sterling who I
- 52:32[SPEAKER_03]: was the editor at Bugswinder, that's where he left in 2020, three great dude covered the Bugs here in Tampa Bay.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_03]: I thought that made it pretty good post about it saying, Mike wasn't going to sit down for a retirement farewell tour with where the team was struggling.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_03]: He wasn't going to be paraded around in his last year and cheered on by fans or anything he did.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_03]: He wants to go compete.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_03]: He wants to win football games, he wants to win championships, and the 49ers offer me better chance to do that.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_03]: He's been looking there too, so I don't play on one bit for it.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: I understand it.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_03]: He did mention that he thinks there are one piece away, and he's the one piece.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's debatable, but he is certainly a hell of a piece, so we'll see what he can do over there.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_03]: And why does he even want to be definitely transformed as the landscape?
- 53:14[SPEAKER_03]: of that shaming an offense and what shaming can do in that offense, so it will be fun to watch.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_03]: So let's see what happens.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it hurt.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, just seeing it come across as timeline and you sit in there with, you know, his family is kids and he's signing and
- 53:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, then he's doing the video for their fan base and he just seems like he's, like, trying to figure it all out on the fly because he's so used to saying, you know, what, you know, what's going on for you and he doesn't really know what to call, you know, he's like, I'm sure he's not even thinking, you know, being better gang or anything like that, like he's just kind of like still trying to acclimate himself and you can just tell that it's like different form right, like it's, it's a new step, a new era in his own journey of his career and, um,
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: as much as it hurts, right?
- 54:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you can't help but be happy for the guy.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_00]: He does deserve it.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, it wasn't about money.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_00]: You could hear that in his sense of medicine, in his press conference, in his introductory press conference, and the deal he signed.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the deal was way less than, I mean, he was making 20 mill to, you know, each year when he signed that to your contract.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's now making 14 mill for one year.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_00]: and about half of that being taken by the state of California.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_00]: So pretty tough, you know, obviously not about money, but he talked about one of the be competitive.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't feel that, you know, it's never been a buck and years were as competitive as, you know, the potential that the San Francisco 49ers are to be able to attempt for a Super Bowl.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: The head coach probably comes into effect here, as well, kind of losing that trust, losing all that with Todd Bowles.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're seeing that you've got Kyle Shanahan who's going to put you in very advantageous situations on the offensive side of the ball.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_00]: There's no brainer there, in my opinion, on which I would choose.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I can only imagine it from his side of things.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: Then there's the subtleness of, I want to play in a place that has a really big fan base or a fan base.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_00]: got energy behind it and things to that nature and not saying that you know we've by stadium is this crazy rock is crowd that brings you know the juice every single week in and out but they do feel that stadium every single week.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_00]: They do have the majority of their own fans in that stadium every single week.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_00]: which is not how it is here at Tampa and that's kind of unfortunate, right?
- 55:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like you don't want to hear that you hate to hear that, especially being from like myself and River who have been Tampa Bay fans our entire lives, right?
- 55:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like we have led this our entire lives and we hate having to hear that.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, that's kind of the reality of it.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_00]: You've got a
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: a franchise in San Francisco that has deep roots in history in football.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, Tampa is kind of, you know, just reached 50 years.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we have two superpowers, but we're not entrenched into that blue bloods of this league.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, they're all, you know, warranted reasons for him to want to go there.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_00]: And, um, Sam Singh John Lynch is just kind of hard because, you know, John being here and then ended up leaving too.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, just is what it is, man.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy for him.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_00]: I wish him nothing but the past, but it definitely hurt, but Um, we'll see.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what he's able to do.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully he's able to continue and, um, you know, continue to produce at a very high level.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I would hate to see, you know, kind of as career go.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_00]: South now that he's left, but he'll always be welcome back at the end of the day.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: Whenever he does decide to call it quits, you go ahead and bring him back on a one-year contract or whatever.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they go ahead and give the retire as a Tampa Bay Bucket year.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: So here's what specifically he did say on, you know, the 49ers fan base he says every time I come up to Levi's stadium and I see how the crowd is and I see the energy that they bring it just excites me.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_01]: I played here as an opponent and you can feel that it's different the passion that they have for the team is undeniable.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: The fan support was a big part of it.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: When you're at the stage of your career, you want to play in a place where the city is behind you and every Sunday feels like a playoff atmosphere.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking forward to finally having it the energy on my side.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now you got to note, too, you know, my Kevin's went through some really brutal years with the box.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're talking to him.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_01]: this team was bad.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't a great one, but he of course was the biggest light of it, but still nonetheless, whens puts asses and seats and puts your actual specific fanbase into those seats.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: And not until, you know, you started seeing the run there whenever Tom Brady came in.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_01]: That, that immediately, I mean, they had to add more seats into the stadium just because Tom Brady was coming in to play.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_01]: And not only really when Tom Brady came like,
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't even have to be a bucks fan to go, you know, you want to go watch Tom Brady play because he's in that area right and Florida So he's he's I don't know if it's necessarily time out the current now for the bucks because I do think it's it's gotten better But you do see where you know it's it's you got the Eagles coming in you got Lions fans coming in Eagle like you've got so many different, you know teams the Steelers, you know that that will be later but
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: There will be, you know, always that issue with other fan bases coming in the same stadium.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_01]: And we always note that that's something when we get into the press box where like, well, see how this looks like.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, not only the fact that there's teams travel well, but
- 58:34[SPEAKER_00]: you think of the area, Tampa Bay, Clearwater, St. Pete, all of that, that's like a vacation home, a bunch of these snowbirds who are fans of these, you know, teams from North or from the Midwest, wherever they may be.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_00]: They come down here and they have like their second home and so they come down here and they're going to want to go to games when their team is playing.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll also, you know, factors into into that aspect of it.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_03]: According to the census bureau of the United States, 64% of people living in Florida were born in a state outside of Florida.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_03]: And because of that, it means that they take their football teams, they were a fan of from back home, and they root for them here.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_03]: So that's going to be a pretty big problem.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think no matter how he's been at the dolphins have this problem.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_03]: Um, any Florida team has this problem, right?
- 59:26[SPEAKER_00]: So Jackson don't know that as much because it's in downtown Jacksonville and it's not very fun to play.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_03]: But if you are a traveling fan and um, you want to go to any road game.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_03]: Floor is a very enticing destination to do so.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_03]: The weather is usually not cold.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_03]: It's very hot, but you know, sometimes you just find that out when you get here.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's not cold.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_03]: Cool location and Tampa Bay for sure, and a lot of fans like a travel here, and most of the fans that come that are taking over stadiums, or they live here, or they're born here, and their dad was a
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, so I think it's just about how it goes something you got to work with It's unfortunate, but it is how it is yeah, you got some blue bloods coming in of course You've got the steelers.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_01]: I got to mention earlier, but the other is always brutal.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_03]: Packers.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's brutal Packers are going to be at least lines.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's in that's in that's in Detroit.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_01]: Luckily, you got your at Chicago
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: You're at Chicago.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're still in a way game, of course, but man, there's a lot of people that live or from Chicago that live down in this Tampa area for sure.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: But that's the something you're going to do with that's something that it comes with it, but I mean, you can blame Mike for that.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's, you know, I'd
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's not specifically trying to take a jab at the buck's fan base, I think it's really necessarily of him personal what he wants to do and he wants to play in the front of a team that kind of atmosphere and that really gets him going.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's just built, like you were mentioning from Easterling, he's built on.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_01]: competitive nature.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_01]: That is that is Mike.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you saw him live it live it after that Atlanta Falcons game.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_01]: He saw him live it on the sidelines right next to Todd Bowles I still think that was where you were he kind of just said all right that that's enough I've had enough.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: I did all of this rehab.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: I did all of this shit to come back so quickly and then you shit the bed on me like that
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_03]: I cost money, Logan.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I just, I just, I just, I risk raised it up there.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_03]: And I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_03]: Um, he was asked about whether or not he was playing retiring, and he said, Bucks fans were thinking today as if he were retiring and writing him off like he was done after this one, or we'll see.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_03]: So I wonder if perhaps that had a little something to do with it as well.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_00]: And it's ultimately just kind of a series of events.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_00]: Um, unfortunate series of events per
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, it goes back to Liam, it's all 2024 and beyond that and that's kind of, you know, you start getting little cracks and the cracks grow bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and this is what happens you lose a lot because of bad decision making and that's just where we are.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's damn my blow in 2026.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: But one thing that we do love is that John just through us as subscribe Appreciate it John.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_01]: He says though.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_01]: He has a question.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's on how many yards Mike gets in his first year with the 49ers.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna go.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna say something crazy.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_03]: He's not gonna get a thousand yards I think he's gonna get a little bit under that because my main thing is
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_03]: He's been out of play after this hamstring injury for most of his career.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_03]: He's had a lingering hamstring sort of thing going on.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_03]: But last two years, he's missed eight weeks due to that hamstring injury.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's just at the point in his career where he's not able to kind of push through that.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_03]: And so I think he might miss some games next year.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_03]: That being said, I think he's going to be fairly dominant.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_03]: In this shanahan offense, as long as he stays healthy, and you know, is that pleasant, isn't dropped off thing mice going to do shanahan.
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_03]: I can't hands go to a lot of great things for him and scheme him up.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_03]: I do think as far as evolution.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's between McVay and shanahan for you and you're the best offensive coordinator in Schema and the NFL.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think shanahan is incredible.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so I think he's going to find so many ways to use him and utilize him.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_03]: So I do think I'm thinking like a cool like 900 yard season like an 8,500 yard season probably a lot of touchdowns in the red zone.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I'm predicting some touchdowns from my province that that goal line fade might make its way over their San Francisco.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_03]: Wasn't that.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, rivers taking the substation route, um, uh, you took, uh, you took my number.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's tough.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's all jokes, and I obviously don't wish that upon Mike by any of it.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_00]: But it's definitely worried worrisome if you're over there.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_00]: But.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that was the number I was sitting at.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_00]: I was sitting at 850, like when the when that question came up, I was like probably 850, but he's going to have like probably nine touchdowns.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_00]: So like he's going to make up for it in different ways.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and that's fine.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_00]: And he doesn't need a thousand yards anymore unless he wants to keep chasing Jerry's total record, which I don't even think he's got that much burn left in him.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: Um, any more to be able to reach that level, but, um, yeah, probably around that 850 range with with some higher touchdown totals.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've got one more question that's related to the future of Baker Mayfield, but I wanted to bring this up to you guys during this show alone.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_01]: We've gained six subscribers, so we know how you guys.

- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_01]: So just to have you guys coming here, giving us your time definitely means a lot.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: But let's go ahead to this last question here.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_01]: We'll finish off the show on this and I'll get this off here.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know what I'm doing, but here I am.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the show.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_01]: This is from low country pirate asking.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_01]: whether they do or don't draft a quarterback in next year.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_03]: This is a really, really good question.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think Baker being showed English quarterback makes this pretty interesting because the potential that we saw him in the first half of the year with how he played at an MVP level was very impressive.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_03]: And I think Liam Cohen got that type of play out of him consistently in a way that Josh was able to
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_03]: The back half of the year, he was one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, as far as deep accuracy was awful, missing throws, shaking the pocket, turnovers, turnover worthy play.
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_03]: And we all have kind of operated under the assumption that he was injured and playing injured, and that's what caused that play, but I think there's some other factors at play when it comes to how he plays football.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_03]: His deep accuracy has always been in question, I think, and he has always, of course, a guy that would rather hold on the ball and try and make the play.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_03]: then perhaps throw it away or do anything like that.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_03]: So I think it comes down to this if he has a good season this year in the book and years when the NFC South and then make the playoffs.
- 1:07:50[SPEAKER_03]: I would expect probably an extension to happen because I think that means that most of the staff and the coaching and the people in charge will stay around.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_03]: there's a possibility though that they go eight nine or seven and ten they don't make the playoffs i think they've a disappointing season this year i think bulls and lighter gone
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_03]: and at that point you are resetting everything hard reset if you bring in a new coach in a new general manager they're going to want to have their quarterback and it that it probably won't be baker may feel in that case so i think the pressure's on um for this team i really do i think everyone's kind of playing for jobs in a way because i think baker may feel knows he can't have a back half the season like he had last year he can't
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_03]: I think Liam Cohen really knew how to utilize his particular strengths and make him a consistently performing quarterback.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of short game, you're hard at their catch scheming and liking to throw deep like Josh Guzard did because he's a little bit shaky or their accuracy wise, making him comfortable with quick reads and throes instead of having him hold the ball on, hold the ball too long.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_03]: So.
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think he has limitations, but I think he plays well, it probably will, and if things go bad, and that could be because the defense guy, if the defense causes the buck, so lose a lot of games, then I think he might be out anyway.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see what happens to Crucial Year for him, Crucial Year for Top Bulls, Crucial Year for this, and that.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just to add on to that river set it perfectly.
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_00]: If it's a bad season, it's going to be full rebuild.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of what it's going to be.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_00]: But I am going to go out here and say that I fully expect that Zach Robinson is being in contact with Liam Cohen pretty heavily about how to turn things around and get Baker back on track.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is probably where we're going to be friends.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're good friends.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're good friends.
- 1:09:37[SPEAKER_00]: So that helps, right?
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_00]: And at least Liam's going to be able to pick up the phone
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_00]: anybody else, but so that's good.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I believe, wholeheartedly, that Baker performs his best whenever he is on their pressure.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_00]: Not necessarily late in games or things of that nature, but when it's all on him, when everything's on his back, everything is weighted on his shoulders.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I think this is going to be one of those years where Baker last year, you know, he's playing and I was like, oh, yeah, we're going to have a similar season.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be good.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_00]: And as we did in 2024, things didn't go that way.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_00]: You could kind of see that that luster in his eyes kind of disappear as this season on the wound.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_00]: in that chip on his shoulder kind of disappeared to right like so now that we've got this new juice in here now we've got different things going on.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have a different scheme compared to how we were running in with Josh Grzard.
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting back to you know the basics of things that were good at rather than trying to
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_00]: expand into things that we're not necessarily as good at.
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_00]: And so having that chip on a shorter entering this year, so I think it's going to be a big bounce back here for ultimately is what I'm trying to say.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_00]: And with that, as long as you are able to get over the 500 mark, potentially make the playoffs, I think you absolutely have to put Baker onto another contract, especially with no real clear signs of a successor.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_01]: good stuff gentlemen.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Good stuff.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Some good takes there on Baker because that's going to be the big conversation as we head into this 2026 season, but some moves were made from the box.
- 1:11:13[SPEAKER_01]: I got a pass for us to add into the offensive line.
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_01]: We know they've done the line back in position, but now the big question will remain what will happen with Levantay David.
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_01]: We should get some answers pretty soon.
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_03]: I believe hopefully pretty soon.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not there, man.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go to the AE and, you know, they're a saying that it's as agent will say that it's going to be coming very, very soon either later this week, which we're in that later part of the week or over the weekend.
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I would imagine either Saturday or Sunday or maybe even today.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get some news on him if that does happen.
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_01]: We, of course, will jump back on here as and do our best to do a little instant reaction to that.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_01]: But that is going to do it for us over an hour here on the show and we appreciate it.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_01]: A whole ton for you guys coming in.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate all the new subscribers jumping in this last week and including just today alone.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Also, too, we tried to reach a goal of 25 likes.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_01]: You guys have already just destroyed that.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's well over 30.
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_01]: appreciate that a ton as well for the engagement you guys showing some love and some questions, but that's going to do it.
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for watching.
- 1:12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Here on Bucks Game Day River Wells, Caleb Skinner, Logan Robinson, we're out of here.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_01]: On here the canons, we'll see you guys soon.
- 1:12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Either breaking news one or early next week on here the canons, we're out of here piece.
