Transcript
- 0:00I like to do things myself and I like to learn as much as I can
- 0:03about them, and I think that that produces a quality product
- 0:07in the end, no matter what you're doing.
- 0:09Well, I've lost about 80 lbs. Yeah.
- 0:11To do for my son, to be here longer for him, yeah.
- 0:14If I'm dealt a set of cards, I'm going to do everything I can to
- 0:18work with that set of cards because that's the cards that I
- 0:21have for now. This is not a cut and buff.
- 0:23No, Yeah, this is off the gun. What shut the up?
- 0:28Welcome back everybody to another episode of the After
- 0:31Hours podcast. On today's episode, we have
- 0:34Logan Davenport of D Realm and Body Service Ideal Logan is from
- 0:40Northeast Texas, but he made a trip down to meet us in Houston
- 0:44when we were doing our Texas series of podcasts.
- 0:47This is the first one we're releasing.
- 0:48We have another four of them waiting to be released.

- 0:58date on those videos. We don't know when everything's
- 1:00dropping. So but yeah, we the first one
- 1:03was with Logan and it was an amazing podcast.
- 1:07He was very, very generous and kind to us to make the four hour
- 1:13trip down to Houston to meet us at the Oblivion Garage is what
- 1:18we call it. If you, if you don't know team
- 1:20Oblivion, but make sure you check them out as well.
- 1:22We did a podcast with Colin that will be coming out later, but
- 1:25Logan met us there. A bunch of cool cars, a bunch of
- 1:28awesome people. We hung out the whole night with
- 1:30those guys and and really got to, you know, break bread with
- 1:33everyone and, you know, learn about the Texas drifting
- 1:37community, which is honestly turning into one of my favorite
- 1:42drifting communities in the United States.
- 1:43So. But yeah, as far as Logan
- 1:46specifically, really cool dude, very meticulous builds,
- 1:51beautiful cars. The 180 that he brought, well,
- 1:54it's a 240, but we call it a 180.
- 1:56Of course, if you know, you know the one, the 180 he brought is
- 1:59just Immaculate. We did do a car check on that
- 2:02video as well, so that should be dropping same time as this.
- 2:05And yeah, enjoy it. Oh, by the way, we did have some
- 2:09small technical difficulties with the video side of this
- 2:12podcast, but it's really not a big deal.
- 2:14So the other ones seem to have worked pretty Florida State, but
- 2:18we're still getting used to this travelling with a full podcast
- 2:20studio thing. So there's going to be some

- 3:45This is a pretty good set up considering what?
- 3:48Do you mean because you worked on it for like an hour?
- 3:50I mean, dude, I don't know, we usually have bigger tables, you
- 3:54know, and I'm sorry about the mic stands blocking us, but.
- 3:58I can see. OK.
- 3:59I was going to say. It's just going to have to be
- 4:01that way. You want to be as close as you
- 4:02kind of can, especially since it's kind of echoing in here.
- 4:04Yeah, yeah. And that's and you can move that
- 4:06mic like if you want to bring it towards you, it will move.
- 4:09Yeah. And I don't think you are good.
- 4:10Yeah. And yours, that's beautiful.
- 4:11Yeah. Yours actually is working out
- 4:12pretty good because sometimes they'll fall, but yours is like.
- 4:15Staying pretty told me that after I moved it.
- 4:17No, no, no, no, no. I mean like this, like I move it
- 4:19and then it would go like this. Logan is the greatest.
- 4:22Yeah. Dude, okay, you were, you were
- 4:25unintentionally funny at the best fucking time.
- 4:28So all night so far and it's been amazing.
- 4:30Funny story. That's kind of why he's on the
- 4:33podcast because like he's in the 180 chat we have and he kept
- 4:37saying the funniest shit and I'm like, well, you're on the
- 4:39podcast no matter what, so you. Two know each other well, first
- 4:41of all. Yeah.
- 4:42First of all, welcome everybody to the FACTION AFTER Hours
- 4:44podcast. This is the Texas series.
- 4:46Yeah, the Texas. Series so this that's pretty
- 4:47amazing. We have a round of podcasts
- 4:49here. We're in Houston and we have
- 4:52Logan from D realm. Everybody welcome Logan.
- 4:55The live audience. There we go.
- 4:57Dude, thank you so much for coming you came from. 443 hours,
- 5:01yeah. We drove about four hours.
- 5:03Yeah, you're, you have no idea how flattering that feels.
- 5:07And also the hospitality that Chris and everybody has been
- 5:09showing us here, like opening up the space to everybody.
- 5:12What the hell? They've never been here before.
- 5:15Yeah, good call on that, you said.
- 5:17That and I was confused because I thought this was like a normal
- 5:19thing. So I was like, oh.
- 5:22Well it seems pretty normal, like 40 people just walked in
- 5:24with beers so. I think that's, I don't know,
- 5:26because I'm not around here, but I think that's the, I think
- 5:28that's the norm around here. Yeah.
- 5:30They all seem pretty tight and it's pretty cool.
- 5:31That's why I want to come here, because it's yeah, these are
- 5:34yeah, this is the place I think of in Houston and stuff like
- 5:37that too, so. And you drift down here, right?
- 5:39I have yeah. I don't, I, I haven't, I don't
- 5:42have a lot of like driving time. OK so far.
- 5:44So yeah, yeah. But yeah, Houston is some.
- 5:47Photos and videos and shit. Yeah, yeah, I've, I've drove a
- 5:50little bit, you know, St. it a little bit, yeah.
- 5:52I feel like it's hard to not have one of these and not drive
- 5:56it, but would you say what what is your 180 journey was to make
- 6:00it this what you're looking at here?
- 6:03Well, like, what do you mean? Like, because you know how right
- 6:07now everybody's just obsessed with like, oh, I need a door, I
- 6:09need to drive, I need grip, I need this, I need that.
- 6:11Yeah, but it seems like here you painted a picture really of what
- 6:16you wanted. Like I look at this and
- 6:18everything is intentional. Yeah, it's a it's a beautiful
- 6:21car. Yeah, I definitely love like
- 6:23building the car. That's that's the, that's the
- 6:25best part. It's evident.
- 6:26And like now I get to look at Logan right now and like the
- 6:29whole car is behind you and it's still just such a delight to
- 6:34look at. I'm telling you, everybody line
- 6:36is perfect. Thank you.
- 6:37You're a very meticulous guy. Yeah.
- 6:39Well, yeah, I do. I take, I take pride in what I
- 6:41do. Yeah.
- 6:42For. Sure.
- 6:42Is that a body guy thing? No, not really anymore, I don't
- 6:46think. Not in like the collision world
- 6:48at least. It's definitely like a, you
- 6:49know, there, there's people out there.
- 6:52But yeah, it's it's. I feel like it goes further than
- 6:55just a yeah are are you have. You been like that your entire
- 6:57life. I, I I generally have that
- 6:59approach to things. Everything you do is.
- 7:02Top of I like to do things myself and I like to learn as
- 7:07much as I can about them, and I think that that produces a
- 7:10quality product in the end, no matter what you're doing.
- 7:13Yeah, and like. The Learning.
- 7:15Is when you drive it. Now, I don't know if this makes
- 7:19sense or maybe this might be what you're feeling, but when
- 7:22you do something and you know you did it and it's all working,
- 7:26Yeah, what a feeling. Yeah.
- 7:27Yeah, exactly. Oh my.
- 7:29Gosh. Yeah, it's actually I haven't.
- 7:31I haven't really drove this. I haven't.
- 7:33This is the first place of like taking this.
- 7:35Car. Oh, really?
- 7:36Yeah. So I had it.
- 7:37I had like originally finished building it and like 2019 I
- 7:41think it was. And it was just like a shell and
- 7:46I, I built it and then I redid it last year.
- 7:51I, I had, I had put it kind of on the back burner for about 5
- 7:55years. I bought a house and had a had a
- 7:59son with a wonderful wife and so it just wasn't really important
- 8:05to. Me, is it?
- 8:07Have I seen photos of this car where it was like completely
- 8:10stripped? Yeah, it's the same car.
- 8:12Yeah, that's that's how I got it.
- 8:13I got it in like. Bro I need to find those photos
- 8:14and show you. Yeah, like this.
- 8:16Yeah, it was a it was a show. Yeah, I don't, I don't mean to
- 8:19sound weird here, but I did go on Logan's page I have seen.
- 8:22Photos, yeah. Yeah, I also know what your
- 8:25house looks like, dude. No, no, no, no, no.
- 8:27You know what Logan has on his page?
- 8:29If you guys don't follow Logan, go follow Logan.
- 8:31He's got this highlight reel of pizza.
- 8:34Yeah, I just started making pizza.
- 8:35We're bringing up. The Oh yeah, yeah, I saw that.
- 8:37But The thing is, is he's taking photos of the pizza for the
- 8:40highlight reel. Like it's a like it's a detail
- 8:43like under side you could see the death, the pocket.
- 8:47I mean the though. He's very he.
- 8:49He's very meticulous with everything.
- 8:51I feel like a pizza. Dude.
- 8:53Yeah, I definitely enjoy the the details of things for sure.
- 8:56So I feel like. That's not only a Body Shop
- 8:58thing. I feel like it's just how you
- 8:59are as a person. Like, like, yeah, the paint's
- 9:01good, obviously, but you can see like the other, there's like
- 9:04little things with the car where it's all like super anal, you
- 9:07know, and like, done really well.
- 9:08Dude, I said. I said that, Logan, you had the
- 9:11special tism. Definitely.
- 9:14Because in the Bay, dude, I'm telling you, I'm just looking at
- 9:17it. I feel like I'm looking at a
- 9:18video game, but I'm here and I'm like, I, I don't, I don't even
- 9:22know what I'm looking at. Well, I I love like that about
- 9:25drifting that you can go like, you know, I don't know if this
- 9:30car has necessarily like earned its so do you call the drift car
- 9:33yet? But.
- 9:35This is a beautiful drift. Car, but you can go, you know,
- 9:37up to the cars. You know what other motorsport
- 9:40where is is it like that? Where in between, you know, them
- 9:42racing, you can go look as a spectator, you can go look at
- 9:45them and and notice like things that people put into it and
- 9:48like, you know, we really we we love, you know these things that
- 9:52we're building. So to me, it's like when
- 9:54someone's looking at it, you know them noticing those little
- 9:57things. I want them to like kind of feel
- 10:00that my thought process behind it, you know, everything.
- 10:04I would be so nervous if I or anyone to ever drive with
- 10:10something like that. Really.
- 10:12See, I've thought of that. Because I'm, it's maybe more of
- 10:16a fault of my own, probably because I'm, I care and I take
- 10:19into account the fact that you worked hard for it, right?
- 10:22But we're having fun. We're, we're driving, right?
- 10:26I touch a door. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:30The door is really straight. Yeah.
- 10:32Right. It's aligned really well.
- 10:34It's it closes with minimal effort and then I just ruined
- 10:38that well. I feel like it depends on like
- 10:40you probably wouldn't go as hard if you were driving with this
- 10:42car, you know I. Know, but shit happens.
- 10:44Yeah. Yeah, you know that.
- 10:45You know that. But I feel like you would dial
- 10:48it back a little bit. But when it comes to looking at
- 10:51it and seeing the things that are done to the car that make it
- 10:55like every car that's in this shop, in Chris's shop, right?
- 10:57You can look at each one and there's like variances in each.
- 11:01And to me, that's when you can see somebody's character.
- 11:04Kind of. My car is messy as fuck, but it
- 11:08has little bits of me and my friends in it 'cause that's what
- 11:10important, that's what's important to me.
- 11:12And like, you look at all of these and then you see different
- 11:15pieces of everyone in it, and it's kind of sick.
- 11:18I feel like kind of what I was talking about with like the
- 11:20details, like those things become the same things.
- 11:24And like my car, like you say, it's, it's, it's, you know,
- 11:27something you'd be nervous to drive with and stuff like that.
- 11:29And I probably will like try to just tandem with my team to
- 11:34begin with. And, you know, until I, because
- 11:35I, I got a lot of learning to do myself, but, you know, I, I
- 11:40wouldn't be bummed if stuff happened to it.
- 11:42Yeah. The first one is the one that
- 11:43hurts the most. Yeah, that's what it's for,
- 11:45yeah. It doesn't help that you're just
- 11:47also just seem like such a nice guy that you would understand if
- 11:51someone wasn't malicious to you. Yeah.
- 11:54Stuff happens but I would just be so heartbroken.
- 11:57Yeah. Well, and I mean, I guess it
- 11:59helps that, you know, I'm that guy fixing it.
- 12:01It's not like it's a, you know, outside of materials.
- 12:03It's just kind of like a time. What made you When did you get
- 12:07your house again? That was recent.
- 12:08I got my house in 2021. Yeah, 21/20/21 Yeah, like the
- 12:13last good time, The last good time to buy.
- 12:15A house. I was going to say it was
- 12:16probably a good time to buy a house.
- 12:17Holy crap, you're lucky. Well, well, kind of kind of like
- 12:21we were saying, I kind of watched everything and yeah,
- 12:23made sure that I bought a house too.
- 12:26That's cool. So, so.
- 12:27So yeah, we got a good deal on that.
- 12:29And yeah, we're. Because that's kind of how old
- 12:31are you? I'm 3231 and. 32, I don't know.
- 12:36We're all kind of, we're all kind of the same age right now.
- 12:37It's kind of crazy. Yeah.
- 12:38But because like, I'm in that realm now where I don't know.
- 12:43I always thought that buying houses was pretty fucking hard.
- 12:45It is very hard. But like, we're adults now, and
- 12:48you can do that if you want. It's a big decision.
- 12:49It's a very large decision that. Got a lot of nuances.
- 12:53A lot of people kind of underestimate and it's.
- 12:56There's a lot to it. Daunting.
- 12:58Yeah, yeah, yeah. It definitely put me, it didn't.
- 13:01It definitely took priority over other things.
- 13:04And you said you had a son as well.
- 13:07Yeah, I have a. And you built this?
- 13:10Yeah. And you've recently lost a piss
- 13:13load of weight. Yes, have a wonderful wife.
- 13:16God bless her. Man.
- 13:18And what I do, yeah, yeah. Yeah, everyone in here is
- 13:20supportive. It was in here was talking about
- 13:22it because I get they probably see you all the time like it's
- 13:24the first time we're meeting you so.
- 13:25We don't, no. But they said they haven't seen
- 13:27him in a while. Yeah.
- 13:28They haven't seen me in a while. I've lost about 80 lbs.
- 13:30Yeah, that's that's a lot of weight.
- 13:32Yeah, dude, I looked at Brad and I was like, you know how many?
- 13:34That's four wheels. That's a lot of weight, dude.
- 13:37Yeah, you lost four wheels. Our buddy Chris lost about that
- 13:41much weight. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:43And it was like life changing. Yeah.
- 13:44Yeah, yeah. To do for my son, to be here
- 13:47longer for him, you know, that's what did that comes.
- 13:49Down to and then what did you say?
- 13:50You said you did, you just ate better.
- 13:53I forgot what the. Yeah, just started moving more
- 13:55and ate less food. Dude.
- 13:57And now you start. Paying attention to what?
- 13:58I eat now you can. I I feel the bride better so.
- 14:02I was going to say there's a lot of other benefits too.
- 14:04When you start to lose a bunch of weight aside from like a lot,
- 14:07I get you, you will naturally just feel more confident in
- 14:10yourself. But also, now you can do a lot
- 14:14more things with a lot less effort.
- 14:16Like, I used to be a little bigger.
- 14:18Yeah. You sleep better.
- 14:20Like, your quality sleep is better.
- 14:22You fit in a bride better when you're moving around and working
- 14:24on the car. Dude, there was like a few years
- 14:27ago where you know you when you hit that little bit of
- 14:31sluggishness in the shop and you're just like, I'm going to
- 14:33stop. Yeah, I've been in that for four
- 14:35years. I feel like that window, that
- 14:37window was getting smaller and smaller and I then I just
- 14:40started like walking, exercising regularly, then it got better.
- 14:43Yeah, yeah. But you, you know, actors, you
- 14:45can just do it. And it's not hard.
- 14:49You can stick to it, you know, and.
- 14:51Is that all you've been doing? That's the only.
- 14:53And dieting. Exercise, Yeah.
- 14:55That's pretty fucking impressive.
- 14:56Yeah, I do want to go to a gym. I'm waiting for like all the
- 14:59like. I kind of have a little bit of
- 15:01like social anxiety. So going to like a gym with
- 15:03like, a lot of like New Year's resolution people kind of freaks
- 15:06me out. It's horrible.
- 15:07I want to get into a gym and yeah, work on that a little bit
- 15:10this year. That's so weird you say you have
- 15:11social anxiety. I don't feel that way with him
- 15:14at all. I really don't know.
- 15:15Well, I get I'm. I have a problem where I get
- 15:18anxious when I'm in a social setting, but I get fucking this
- 15:23shit starts running in my brain and then I'm like OK, high up,
- 15:27yeah, and I'm just. Like is different than like here
- 15:30with people that I'm like, yeah, not that I know, but I know like
- 15:34have a shared interest with me and yeah.
- 15:37Dude, the one thing I hate about the gym is that I don't want to
- 15:41run into a bunch of kids who might judge me.
- 15:43Fuck. That.
- 15:45Yeah, like a bunch of teenagers who are like, look at this.
- 15:47Old guy I. Don't want to run into a bunch
- 15:49of kids period. Like broccoli heads at the gym.
- 15:52Oh good. I don't really.
- 15:53Frankie went as far as going up and down the stairs in his
- 15:55apartment. So yeah, that works.
- 15:57I'll do anything to avoid fucking works going to.
- 16:00Move. Yeah, you have to be crazy.
- 16:01Yeah. It's got to be what, like,
- 16:03sustainable and yeah, yeah, you know.
- 16:05Something that you can do. I mean, I like to do things that
- 16:07I can, like, do every day because I know if I stop, I'll
- 16:11fucking just stop. It's and it can't get in the way
- 16:14of something else that's important to you, like work or
- 16:17your hobby. It has to be something that you
- 16:19can fit. Like that's why I did it during
- 16:21my lunch break. I was saying I would just walk
- 16:24like a couple miles down the road and back.
- 16:26I work on an old country Rd. on a, in a Body Shop out in the
- 16:30middle of nowhere. So I can just walk down the road
- 16:33and walk back. And, you know, that's a little
- 16:35exercise. Everything you do makes so much
- 16:38sense. I wish it felt that way to me.
- 16:41It's kind of nuts, dude. Really.
- 16:43Yeah. Because, like, why would you go
- 16:45to a gym when you can walk the miles down the country?
- 16:47Rd. Obviously.
- 16:48You seem to have enjoyed that. Like to do it.
- 16:51Yeah. Every day or whatever.
- 16:53Yeah, dude. Like doing it every day is the
- 16:55and you know. Like you were saying, you get
- 16:56into a, a slump at work, you know, sometimes a little bit of
- 16:59exercise and just like reset you, you know, you kind of clear
- 17:02your mind a little bit. Dude, sometimes I hit a little
- 17:04jumping Jack, little jumping Jack session to get the blood.
- 17:07No, dude. Jumping jacks are good.
- 17:09You're talking this guy is the one who's pulling over at final
- 17:12bout and like like on the way home, just like we gotta try to
- 17:17say we gotta wake up. We gotta wake up.
- 17:18Meanwhile whole truck full of people circulation have no idea
- 17:21Frankie is exhausted. Wakes up to pass out.
- 17:24Yeah. Just risking the life of
- 17:26everybody. I actually remember being like,
- 17:29like I was priming something. It was flash times working on.
- 17:32I think it was like these doors and I was doing jumping jacks in
- 17:35a paint booth, just like waiting for the primer to flash so I
- 17:39could put another. Yeah.
- 17:40'Cause you're yeah, yeah. Or well, I, so I, I, I, I'll
- 17:45spray in like a, like, I have a down draft booth, access to a
- 17:48down draft and a cross draft booth.
- 17:49So most of the time after I spray something the overspray is
- 17:53gone. And I mean I can take my mask
- 17:55off dude. I used.
- 17:56To wow. Pretty quickly it's.
- 17:57Such a delight to spray and tell him how.
- 17:59Tell him how you paint. Yeah, I don't want.
- 18:01No, I've, I've seen. Yeah, yeah, it's bad.
- 18:04You paint, but you're at your house now and.
- 18:06Yeah, I have AI work in the garage and I just, I'm somebody
- 18:11who if I'm dealt a set of cards, I'm going to do everything I can
- 18:16to work with that set of cards because that's the cards that I
- 18:19have for now. East Coast Drift School, which

- 19:26So I have a garage So what did I do?
- 19:28Like it, it's winter. It's literally 2°.
- 19:31It's. Horrible.
- 19:32Insulated the roof, you know, walled it off from the other
- 19:36side. I just bag everything in the
- 19:38garage before I do anything. I have a ventilator fan.
- 19:40I run the heater. It's like a radiant 1 so I don't
- 19:43die. OK.
- 19:45And just like wet the floor. All the little you have to do so
- 19:49many little nuances for each different setup and like tips
- 19:51and tricks that people tell you over the years.
- 19:54But like, really, the thing that I change the most is I I've
- 19:57learned to cut and buff a little bit better.
- 20:00OK, I've never done any of it. I've never.
- 20:02This is not a cut and buff. No, Yeah, this is off the gun.
- 20:04What the shut the fuck up? No, yeah, I mean, you can see
- 20:08there's there's trash. No.
- 20:11Well, what as you guys are talking, as you guys are talking
- 20:14about this, I'm thinking to myself, So like the stuff, the
- 20:17way that you have to paint, it's just going to, you know, you
- 20:22have to take extra steps to try to get a good final project
- 20:25product before the cut and buff. He has, you know, a down draft
- 20:29booth, whatever. It's just making it easier so
- 20:32that the final product before the cut and buff.
- 20:34Well, yeah, you can. You can get a really good the,
- 20:39the, the, the, the, the gloss and the, the, the quality of
- 20:43your finish is, is really just your, you know, your gun
- 20:47settings and, and your, your, your spray distance, your
- 20:51overlap, you know, your, your speed.
- 20:54Those are all those things are those are the main things that
- 20:57are a lot of times people are a little like too far away, like
- 21:00when they're spraying, you know, they're kind of scared to run
- 21:02the painters. Close sometimes and I'm like.
- 21:04Yeah, scared to runs. You need to be close.
- 21:06You need to be moving pretty quick.
- 21:08Yeah, obviously different products are, you know, you, you
- 21:13have to approach them in different ways.
- 21:14But generally if you get a finish that's not real glossy,
- 21:18you know, it's, it's, it's because you're, you know, kind
- 21:21of too far away usually. I mean, there's other factors,
- 21:24but you know, I'm talking about like that people DIY in their
- 21:28cars, you know? That was the first thing that I
- 21:31noticed could that I wanted, you know, like sometimes or you
- 21:35paint something when you're a kid with a rattle can, right.
- 21:38That's what I feel like. That's what I feel like
- 21:40everybody's experiences when it comes to the mentality of like,
- 21:43oh, do you mind painting this for me?
- 21:44Like I've painted something before.
- 21:46Like, it's not that bad. Go do it.
- 21:48But when you want something that looks like that and you want to
- 21:52pay like pretty cheap, it's actually kind of hard.
- 21:54Yeah. But it's it's not impossible,
- 21:56but it is a little more difficult.
- 21:59Right, Well, there's there's only a couple ways you can make
- 22:02a a paint job like cheaper, right, And it's to use a less
- 22:07expensive like product or to take stuff off, you know, take
- 22:12less stuff off, take more stuff off, you know, spend less time
- 22:16on it. Yeah, I guess you could do less
- 22:19prep work, but that would. Bite that bites.
- 22:23You but but the The thing is is I can't make a paint job cheaper
- 22:28for someone by like making it look crappier.
- 22:30I, I have my, the spray technique that I use and that is
- 22:35going to be consistent with every job.
- 22:38It's the only way you can make that any cheaper is to do less
- 22:41stuff or to use a cheaper product.
- 22:45And because there's not a dial that I can turn to, oh, this
- 22:47guy's only paying me this much money.
- 22:49Let me spray his car. Let me do a worse job.
- 22:52It's just not how. How it works?
- 22:53Too. And you know, it takes a long
- 22:55time to make that car look good. It's amazing when you have the
- 22:58pride in your work because dude, it shows.
- 23:01Like I just shit's off the gun, dude.
- 23:05Yeah, that's crazy. Nothing's been buffed on this
- 23:07car, right? So and the the.
- 23:12What are you going to point out? What?
- 23:14The the side stirs are actually, these are actually single stage.
- 23:18Oh wow. And the rear valence is single
- 23:20stage because they're just going to get.
- 23:21Trashed. That's why you did that.
- 23:23So I was going to say why, why why did you go with that method?
- 23:25But well, actually the car is it all was sprayed with single
- 23:30stage and then flow coated with clear.
- 23:32So I sprayed it and then I sanded it again and then sprayed
- 23:39it with clear. The single stage.
- 23:41Yeah, and I don't do that. Anybody OK, if there's no point
- 23:45other than the way my brain works.
- 23:48So I sprayed the engine Bay in the car and I didn't want the
- 23:54and I did that and then a couple years later decided, OK, I'm
- 23:56going to fix the car again. And I didn't want the I didn't
- 24:00want I use a single stage in the engine Bay.
- 24:02And I didn't want the car to end up a different like a way
- 24:05different colour because I would have noticed that nobody else,
- 24:07but probably, but I didn't want that to happen.
- 24:11So I just use that single stage product and had it mixed at the
- 24:14same spot and everything over the whole car.
- 24:16But I wouldn't recommend that or do it again are.
- 24:18You a sealer? Yeah, so, well, so you all saw,
- 24:24you said you looked at my Instagram, you saw I had the
- 24:26shell and then I fixed it and it was green.
- 24:29Well, so this whole car I've actually like stripped back down
- 24:32to metal, all that bodywork, everything I did, I took it all
- 24:35back off and I did it again, took the glass back out.
- 24:41So I was having like so the last time I did my car, I, I OK,
- 24:48well, I got in, I guess there go back to I got into pain and body
- 24:51because of this car. So I, I was building it.
- 24:56Actually I went up to final about in 2017.
- 25:00I think you were driving that. Probably was.
- 25:03Yeah, I think, I think and but I need to start to build this car
- 25:10after that and it needed a bunch of paint and body and I was
- 25:13working at like a tire shop and I was like, well, I'm not going
- 25:16to make less money than I am at a tire shop if I go be an
- 25:19apprentice for a body man and I need to do a lot of body works
- 25:22in this car. So I, I started doing that
- 25:25actually made a little bit more whenever, whenever that and then
- 25:27I would work on this car, you know, after hours and there and
- 25:34I did some things that just I didn't like.
- 25:36Now that I've learned more and I did all the prep work, but I
- 25:40didn't actually spray at that time.
- 25:42The painter there just had too much anxiety about it.
- 25:44I was like I spent months working on this.
- 25:46Oh gosh, yeah. So I I had him spray it and it
- 25:49looked good, but I don't know what happened.
- 25:52But after then it sat in the sun for years, you know, while I
- 25:56the. House.
- 25:57Yeah, all that stuff. And I don't know if like the top
- 26:01layer of clear came off because I used PPG Omni excellent clear
- 26:05all of. It and shot Brad's car.
- 26:08Yeah, MC 161's. Oh wait no I I think we used PPG
- 26:13JC630 or something. OK.
- 26:14Shop line, yeah, Yeah, cheaper one.
- 26:16Yeah. Well, yeah.
- 26:18So I think that might just be like amid solids or something
- 26:20like that. The I used like the high solids
- 26:23MC 161. So it's like the cheaper line.
- 26:26It's not like the Dell. I think it's called Deltron if
- 26:27they're top ones. I can try.
- 26:29That. That's great.
- 26:30Yeah, it's great. Yeah, it's all.
- 26:31Game Yeah, I. Think I could give the gun to
- 26:34anybody and they could lay glass with that stuff.
- 26:36Definitely try it out. Yeah.
- 26:37And it's cheap. I think it's like I'll send you
- 26:38a link to where I get it from online.
- 26:39It's like think 280 with a with a partner, yeah or something
- 26:43like that for a gallon. So it's.
- 26:45Cheaper. It's good for D cars because
- 26:46it's that's that's the clearness on this.
- 26:48So it's dude. But but anyway, so I don't know,
- 26:51something happened in one of the coats that he put on and then he
- 26:55like buried it with a heavier coat.
- 26:57But it was like almost like the whole car was like soft and
- 26:59popped. That's like and he buried it.
- 27:01Instead of they just kept laying nails on.
- 27:04Yeah, and then he probably put like a couple more.
- 27:06I don't know because I'm not real, but there was little holes
- 27:09everywhere. So I was like, screw this, I'll
- 27:11just RIP it all off because I'm a psycho I guess.
- 27:14When also what sucks is them holes are really.
- 27:17Yeah, you don't know. And I didn't want to spend a
- 27:19bunch of time and then put on my finish on top of that.
- 27:22So like now everything. So this car has been stripped
- 27:24down to metal and then. Epoxy prime.
- 27:27This is what I'm talking about. Like in that chat, like I see, I
- 27:30see him working on something. I'm like, oh, that's crazy.
- 27:32Like over the years and then like over the last month, I've
- 27:35seen this and I'm like. This guy.
- 27:38This guy did a full rest though, and your shit is still on a
- 27:42rotisserie, you motherfucker. Why a rotisserie is crazy.
- 27:47Because that's awesome. This.
- 27:48Frankie. Yeah, it's sick.
- 27:50I mean, yeah, this, but, you know, access to, you know.
- 27:56Dude, it's just resources. Man.
- 27:57Yeah, even just this short conversation we've just had,
- 28:00man. Yeah, you're a meticulous.
- 28:03Worker, right? This is amazing.
- 28:05Stripped it down to metal. Stripped it down to metal.
- 28:07Yeah, stripped it down to metal with you.
- 28:09Well, you know, I wanted it. I wanted like, I really like
- 28:13like. I like the idea of like looking
- 28:15at my car and being like. I know exactly.
- 28:17I did all of this. What's going on?
- 28:18You know, I did all of this. Yeah, everything.
- 28:20And it's like tuning it we were talking about earlier.
- 28:22I really want to learn how to tune it.
- 28:24Like even if I blow it up, I'll learn how to build a motor.
- 28:26That's literally just another example of like your character
- 28:29cuz you, as you said, you literally taught yourself how or
- 28:32well you took the precautionary steps to learn how to paint
- 28:36right. Yeah.
- 28:37To paint. That's it.
- 28:40Yeah. And now you have a full on
- 28:41career. Yeah, that's the craziest part,
- 28:43right? You started a career because of
- 28:45this car. Yeah, no, yeah, this car is
- 28:47isn't that crazy? Solely responsible for Yeah,
- 28:49it's, it's, I think about it a lot.
- 28:51I'm, I'm thankful for this car for that, you know?
- 28:53Did you not know exactly what you wanted to do back then?
- 28:55Or it's just because you needed to paint this car literally.
- 28:57I would say that I didn't have direction before.
- 29:01That's so crazy. As far as a career goes, Yeah.
- 29:03I mean, you know, it's. Kind of interesting that when
- 29:05you apply yourself to that one thing, just shit starts to kind
- 29:08of happen. That's like why we're here.
- 29:10This is the most like long standing Internet thing we've
- 29:13ever tried. This is the most long standing
- 29:15relationship I ever had. Yeah, it's kind of nuts.
- 29:17Fuck you. We're breaking up, but like, you
- 29:20know what I mean? Like, well, no, that's just so
- 29:23freaking inspirational to me. Or at least hopefully some of
- 29:26the listeners as well who are working on something and they're
- 29:29in a rut. And it just, yeah, how many ruts
- 29:31were you in with this? You know what I mean?
- 29:33Like. Yeah, it's.
- 29:35Like, I mean, yeah, you got to, you got to learn and collect
- 29:38information where you can and, you know, build.
- 29:41Relationships. Do you do anything to to keep
- 29:44going? To like, tell yourself to keep
- 29:47going, man. I just like really love 186.
- 29:54That's perfect. Yeah, yeah.
- 29:56Eddie, you can remember. Can you clip that right there?
- 29:58That is. Like as far as the car is
- 30:01concerned, that's, that's what it is, man.
- 30:03It's for for building the car. I just really love these cars.
- 30:06I. Was going to ask you about that
- 30:07too. Like, how did you get into these
- 30:08cars? Like 180's, yeah.
- 30:12Yeah, I guess drifting, but yeah, 180's.
- 30:14How I got into, I mean definitely like derail my team
- 30:19is who got me into like the type of car I'm into.
- 30:23Yeah, Yeah, I was, I was working at like Office Depot.
- 30:28I think that's like 17 or 18 and.
- 30:32Carl just had to light a cigarette up.
- 30:33With a match. Wow.
- 30:35OK. That's cool.
- 30:36Why is everybody tripping about the?
- 30:38Matches. I don't know.
- 30:39That's cool. First, they give you free
- 30:41matches at the store if you're a cigarette smoker and you didn't
- 30:44know that you're new. Yeah.
- 30:45So you just ask for them give. Me some matches and you can't.
- 30:48I have lighters on the plane. Yeah.
- 30:50And also Chris, I need to smoke cigarettes.
- 30:52And when you do it and it's a conversation.
- 30:54Now I can have a cigarette. Yeah.
- 30:55Can we smoke in here? Yeah.
- 30:56Chris said we could. Yeah, I think so.
- 30:58You can definitely smoke in here.
- 31:01OK, well, it's. Funny.
- 31:02All right, Yeah. So you've.
- 31:03You're 20IN sex. Oh yeah, so.
- 31:05So yeah, I was working at Office Office Depot and I had an
- 31:08Integra. OK, Yeah, I had like ADC 2 and
- 31:11it was a Kuai. Yeah, that was my first car.
- 31:15Oh dude, I love you. Man I had AI, had ADC 2 as well.
- 31:19Yeah, that car taught me so much.
- 31:21Yeah, they're great. Yeah, I definitely, I don't know
- 31:22if I I had a lot of fun with my friends with that car.
- 31:25Until I found out it doesn't drift.
- 31:27Yeah, well, that's yeah. So anyways, I pulled out of
- 31:31Office Depot and there was like these blue lights.
- 31:34I never even, like, I don't even think I'd even heard turbo
- 31:36noises before. And like my my good friend,
- 31:40teammate now, Josh Buckley, he like flew around me.
- 31:44And then we pulled up to the light and I was like, that car
- 31:47is so sick. You know, it's a 240 with Sr.
- 31:50and everything. And I think a couple days later,
- 31:53like the next week or something, we are, we met back up, you
- 31:57know, and Anthony, you all met Anthony earlier.
- 32:02He's also a dear Elm guy. He he was with him and I got in
- 32:08Josh's car. I think Anthony just like stayed
- 32:09at the gas station or something with my buddy that I was with
- 32:12and Josh took me on like a a RIP just like a little U-turn.
- 32:16I never like been in a car drifting and stuff, but I was
- 32:19like watching like the like extended cut, like risky devil
- 32:22stuff as well as well as into then.
- 32:24So I knew about it, but I had then I like felt it and I think
- 32:28I think it was actually it wasn't a couple days.
- 32:31It was like the next week I traded my Integra for a 240SX
- 32:36hatch. Limitless Auto Fab is a

- 33:31They sell an easy to use wheel fitment tool that is a massive
- 33:34game changer for any shop or enthusiast looking for an easy
- 33:37way to check their wheel fitment.
- 33:39With their user friendly tool you can check diameter with an
- 33:42offset before you buy your wheels.
- 33:43Gone are the days of ordering wheels and hoping that your math
- 33:46was correct. Just throw their tool on your
- 33:48wheel hub and dial in your specs to see if your dream wheel
- 33:51clears your coilover and fenders before committing to the
- 33:54purchase. Not only can you check wheel
- 33:56fill in with their tool, you can use it to check suspension
- 33:58clearance as well. This is really great for
- 34:00Drifters who are always changing wheel lock and adding angle to
- 34:03their setups. Now you can see if those new
- 34:05suspension arms or tie rods will clear your wheels at full lock
- 34:08before going out and destroying your new wheels.
- 34:11Another feature is that you can use two of these tools together
- 34:14to measure track with from the wheel center line.
- 34:16About 20% of Ram Set's customers purchase 2 tools at once so they
- 34:20can measure track width for various wheel and suspension
- 34:23setups. I recommend this product to the
- 34:25everyday enthusiast and most importantly shop owners that
- 34:27need a way to size wheels for customers so that they know they
- 34:30are getting the right specs before ordering a brand new set
- 34:32of wheels. To get more info, head on over
- 34:34to ramsteadmfg.com and if you'd like to purchase their Wheel
- 34:37Fitment Tool Pro, we are now carrying them in store at

- 34:44Into me too, yeah. I traded it for like a stock one
- 34:47and then that guy messaged me like it was like did it on
- 34:51Facebook or Craigslist, I think Craigslist and yeah.
- 34:54And then he like texted, he like called my mom or something,
- 34:58'cause I was a kid, my parents wasn't with me.
- 35:00And he was like, I want my car. Back.
- 35:02I knew that's what you're going. To say this thing like it got
- 35:06like 12 miles a gallon on the way home 'cause it was.
- 35:08Fucked. So I was like, yeah, but.
- 35:10Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa.
- 35:12Hey, hey, hey, hey. He sold that.
- 35:13He bought it. He bought it.
- 35:14Yeah, that's what we told him. I mean, like he looked at the
- 35:16car. I mean, I didn't know anything
- 35:17was wrong. I don't think anything.
- 35:18Was it bone stock? You said it was bone stock when
- 35:20you got it. No, no, it actually it had.
- 35:24So it had like AB16 for some reason, like a JD MB 16 in the.
- 35:29Integra. I think the guy had a civic and
- 35:33crashed a civic and bought an Integra and put this the engine
- 35:37from the civic into the Integra. But it was like turbo first car
- 35:42was like a turbo Integra and it was fast.
- 35:44It was way too fast for kids. But then I something happened,
- 35:48we took the turbo off and then it was naturally aspirated
- 35:50really slow so. Yeah, V 16 is not very exciting.
- 35:53Sounds cool. Yeah.
- 35:54No, dude, it wasn't. Yeah.
- 35:56I don't it's funny when you hear where the originations of like
- 36:00everybody's car is because for some reason when they come to
- 36:05like from Honda, it's like the craziest upscale because when
- 36:11you when you get out of the Honda, you get into something
- 36:13that can that can get around like like EU turn.
- 36:17That was the same thing for me, except it was in the snow.
- 36:19I had my ex was sitting and my Chris the tech at faction now
- 36:24had AZ that was like his first car and we're in the snow and we
- 36:28had to turn around and he was in front of me and he just like
- 36:32dumps the clutch and turns it and I was like.
- 36:34Whoa. And then the realization for me
- 36:38was I went to go turn around and I was like, I'm going to do the
- 36:41same thing. And I pulled the handbrake and
- 36:43it just went like that a little bit.
- 36:45And I was like, I don't like this anymore at all.
- 36:49Yeah, Chris looked so cool doing that.
- 36:51Because it's like, what are you going to do?
- 36:52I mean, especially like somewhere I live, it's like,
- 36:54what are you going to do with a Honda?
- 36:56You're going to. Just race other Hondas, that's
- 36:57it. What are?
- 36:58You going to go? Yeah.
- 36:58Stand around in a parking. Lot like you don't have like a
- 37:00curvy, like country roads for some reason.
- 37:02I'm thinking like it goes up, yeah.
- 37:03But I'm not trying to die either, you know, I'm not trying
- 37:06to like because you got to hit a tree or.
- 37:08Something like pretty high speeds.
- 37:10I mean, I would I would if I I have a I still have a Honda
- 37:14person. I have a I have a Ek hatch
- 37:17that's all just daily, right. I mean now.
- 37:20Well, yeah, I bet it looks, but there's no point.
- 37:23No, it's, I know there's three different colors.
- 37:26It's it's it's it's the most notoriously like reliable car
- 37:30I've ever had, though. It's just stock.
- 37:31Yeah, it's stock height. It's got steel wheels on it.
- 37:33Oh. That's gonna run forever.
- 37:35Yeah, it's got 230,000 miles. I don't want to drive it till
- 37:38it's got like 700,000 miles and you're gonna or something like.
- 37:41That so check back. In.
- 37:42The shit restaurant here? No, right?
- 37:44No, yeah. No, not even not even at all.
- 37:48But they have started using this like.
- 37:50No, not the liquid. Well, it's like lines on the
- 37:53road. Yeah, they've started doing
- 37:55that. Is that bad?
- 37:55Is that bad? OK, that's Brine.
- 37:57But here's the thing. So whereas y'all need to do that
- 38:01for months, yeah, we have to do that like a day.
- 38:05Yeah. And then?
- 38:05You just don't drive that day. Yeah, that's.
- 38:07Cool. Yeah, it's all over my IS300
- 38:09right now. Is that bad?
- 38:11Yeah, I would just. Get it off as soon as possible
- 38:13and when they spray that shit, I would just wait and wait and
- 38:15wait till it like rains and then be like OK now we're good.
- 38:18That's what we do. Like when they salt the roads
- 38:19and everything. We don't drive like nice cars
- 38:21until it really rains and then we're like, OK, I guess it's OK
- 38:24now, OK. My 300 is not nice, so yeah.
- 38:28It looks good. Well, you did buy the XL.
- 38:30Version you haven't seen. It the XL the spore cross I have
- 38:34such a gripe with. That that's the wagon, you know,
- 38:35like. I don't know what, mainly
- 38:36because when I think of a station wagon, right, it's got a
- 38:39boot. Like my dad car.
- 38:40It's like, yeah, And then it increases the storage, the IS or
- 38:45the sport cross. If you look at the body line,
- 38:47it's like not that much extra storage, right?
- 38:50It kind of just comes right back.
- 38:51Down and I'm like. What was the purpose of that?
- 38:53Wait, do the seats go down? The seats do go down.
- 38:56So you have, yeah, the back seats go down.
- 38:57So you get a lot of space. And then I don't know.
- 39:00I don't know. I've told people who like
- 39:01recently got like my friend Rye recently got a sport cross and
- 39:07the front seat like the OEM front seat folds down flat into
- 39:11a table so you can sit in the back seat I guess.
- 39:13Yes, food. It's the weirdest thing the.
- 39:15Front seat, but you but with that with the back seats down
- 39:19and that seat down, I put like 8 foot 2 by fours in that thing.
- 39:22Before it's great, you're just. Like a truck.
- 39:24You are changing my mind on that.
- 39:26Yeah, no, it's a good like because.
- 39:28I was like why did they why did they do that?
- 39:30Because when I first got my ISI bought the IS because when I was
- 39:34a kid, you saw the tails and you're like damn, what the fuck
- 39:38is that? And then when I finally got out
- 39:39of the 240 stuff and like thought I wanted to be an adult.
- 39:44I don't know why I did that, but like.
- 39:48I got to ask 300 to be an adult. No, no, I had like an Accord.
- 39:52It was a bone stock Honda Accord.
- 39:54I was like, this is the furthest thing away from anything that I
- 39:56like. This is the answer.
- 39:57I will not be able to relapse because to me I thought it was a
- 40:01problem. OK.
- 40:03And like the people around, like the.
- 40:05Like having the 240SX was a problem.
- 40:07No, just having. Modding cars.
- 40:09Modding cars and things. Like that?
- 40:11Like your family? Yeah, like the hobby, my family,
- 40:13my friends were like, dude, you're still doing that.
- 40:15That's kind of cool, I guess. But then you kind of learn later
- 40:19on that it's kind of rare for people to love something so much
- 40:22to like to go through the the trials and tribulations you just
- 40:25went through with this green car.
- 40:26I'd say those people are probably a little jealous that.
- 40:28They don't. They're bored.
- 40:28They're bored. They live a boring, not they had
- 40:32they find enjoyment in other things.
- 40:34I I keep telling sometimes it's so easy to be like they're
- 40:36boring, but sometimes like their life, it's more family oriented.
- 40:40They they, they care about just the growth of their family and
- 40:42that's it cool. They support them.
- 40:45And so like it was weird. And then I finally was like, you
- 40:48know what, I am not a master of one thing.
- 40:50I'd I'd like to just love one thing.
- 40:53So now I'm here. I bought the ISI was like, this
- 40:55is going to be a good daily. Yeah.
- 40:56And you love that car now. So it's, it's just because like,
- 41:00I don't know, it's I'm tired of relearning.
- 41:04I'd rather just stick and learn it through.
- 41:06Was your 240 was it? It was a hatch I had, I had
- 41:10coops and then I had hatches. But then I ended with the Hatch
- 41:13because. Totally different car by the
- 41:15way. Hatch.
- 41:16Yeah, 1000% one. When you open up the trunk of
- 41:19the Hatch, it just looks cooler with the trunk open for some
- 41:22reason. You open up the coop, it's just
- 41:23like whatever. Well, and you know, when are
- 41:25they going to make a car like this?
- 41:26No. Yeah.
- 41:28Gone. Never.
- 41:29Never again. The small pillars like the all
- 41:31the glass like it's crazy. Dude when the when the 180?
- 41:35The like the silhouette. All the way around the glass.
- 41:38I don't know why, but as a painter too, if you get a 180 or
- 41:41like a hatch, the tape is all the bag is all the way around
- 41:461:00 if you can get it on one. If you want paper it around,
- 41:49fuck it. And like, I don't know, I just
- 41:52when I got the Hatch that was I took the Sr. from my coop, put
- 41:57it in there and just drove it around.
- 41:58I commuted it to college like 2 hours every other weekend and it
- 42:02was just a good car. And then I missed that feeling,
- 42:05missed my friends, and then I had to get back into it again.
- 42:09And then you have to. I like to admit when I'm wrong
- 42:12sadly. And like it's like weird coming
- 42:15back where? Growth happens.
- 42:17Your tail between your legs, you're like, yo, what's up guys?
- 42:19Like I got another car again, like I'm back.
- 42:22So I don't know. It's it's nice that it brings
- 42:24people together like that. It's kind of nuts.
- 42:26Yeah, like, well, so sometimes getting rid of a car and then
- 42:30like getting another car, it it like I used to get a bunch of
- 42:35cars, like I would get a new car and I wish I would have just
- 42:37like stuck with a car because getting another car feels like
- 42:42like progress for some reason. Because like your friends are
- 42:44stoked about it sometimes, you know, sometimes but and then you
- 42:48know, but but really you're just kind of like hitting the reset
- 42:51button. But if you were stick with like
- 42:53a car. It hurts so fucking bad.
- 42:55I mean upset you. No, no.
- 42:57It's, I mean, I've done the same thing.
- 42:58Dude, ask Frankie well this. Is he's, he's been doing pretty
- 43:01good with this car because it's been like fucking four years.
- 43:04I just don't have any money to get into anything.
- 43:06You know what? Yeah, but he he has been almost
- 43:08relapsing a couple times. You're thinking about getting
- 43:10another, a different car. He'll.
- 43:11Bring it up. I I I'd like to build another
- 43:15one with a different. Intention.
- 43:17So that I can just like, 'cause I, I want too much out of the
- 43:20one, you know what I mean? You try to make a car that wants
- 43:23to do everything and all of a sudden it can't do anything good
- 43:28in one. Like one thing he.
- 43:30Wants a streetcar that actually is nice to drive around in.
- 43:32Like look at this. JCX who's who's?
- 43:34I forgot who's this is. I think that's I forget it was
- 43:39the brother of the one. It was the brother of the one
- 43:41guy and I'm really terrible with names.
- 43:43I'm so, so sorry and everybody's so nice.
- 43:45He. Was talking to me earlier.
- 43:47Fuck. OK, well, nonetheless, you look
- 43:49at this dude like that is what a JZX should look like, you know
- 43:53what I mean? And that's what it that's like
- 43:55what you picture. Is that what you want?
- 43:57A JZ. X No, I want, I want.
- 43:59Go on, I'll say it. If it's.
- 44:03Secret Intel. You know, I want the, I want the
- 44:05IS to move with these cars. He wants a fucking S chassis is
- 44:09what he. Wants in an IS like I'm I'm
- 44:12determined. Do you know who front St.
- 44:14Josh is? I talked, I talked to him about
- 44:16this a lot and he will tell me to go kick rocks and to just get
- 44:20into an S chassis because he'll never but well, I think they're.
- 44:23Different cars. I know, but there's they're.
- 44:25Going to drive different. They will drive different, but
- 44:29it's just like with anything, there's a, there's got to be an
- 44:31answer just to make it that much better.
- 44:33And I think it, I think I have it a little bit.
- 44:35I'm not the best driver out there, but I just for the first
- 44:38time, I wanted more out of the car.
- 44:41Like I, I'm always fine with just what I get.
- 44:43I don't really like try to grab more, but I should reach for
- 44:47more. I got to do a little bit more of
- 44:49that. Like when I see stuff like this,
- 44:51if you stayed content, this shit wouldn't look like this.
- 44:54So like that, that see, talking to people like you is what gets
- 44:57it. Yeah, every time we, every time
- 44:59we go on these podcast trips, Carl takes a lot.
- 45:02He gets a, you get a lot of information.
- 45:04Bro I'm about to use the cleared.
- 45:06It it sounds like you're talking to a bunch of a bunch of cool
- 45:10people. Dude, you're one of them.
- 45:12Dude. I appreciate it.
- 45:13Like, literally. But like the the people you all
- 45:15were talking about and you're going to come down and see
- 45:16there's a bunch of bunch of really, really good guys in
- 45:19there and they've got a bunch of really good takes on cars and I
- 45:22think live and stuff like that. So.
- 45:24I planned ahead too, because I'm sure you're thinking ahead as
- 45:27well. Oh yeah, this.
- 45:30I mean I guess, I guess with just 180 like with.
- 45:32A with my car, yeah. I I want to drive this car, you
- 45:36know? That's yeah, I got to tune it,
- 45:41you know? Dude, thank God you, it sounds
- 45:44like you're right at the end now.
- 45:45Yeah, I mean like. You're right about to, I mean.
- 45:47What is that, though? You know, like, yeah, so.
- 45:49But yeah, I mean, just learning the next thing is cool.
- 45:54So like that's going to be like tuning it.
- 45:56And dude, I wish you the you have power of CI.
- 45:59Do want to make some like I do want to like the interior.
- 46:03I kind of like threw it together so it it didn't have any
- 46:06interior in it like the beginning of this week.
- 46:09You did not. Yeah.
- 46:10Don't say you threw it together fast.
- 46:12Yeah, I threw this all together. You're such a Oh my God, you're
- 46:15so great. Well.
- 46:16I mean, it's not. Don't look in there and you can
- 46:19keep that opinion. Dude like.
- 46:21Yeah, well, I mean, obviously like I had the parts leftover
- 46:24and stuff, but the car used to have, the car used to have red
- 46:28interior and now it's got black and the Sebring upholstered and
- 46:31all that. I kind of wanted to tame down
- 46:33the interior a little bit because the outside of the car
- 46:35is so loud so. It's like very grown.
- 46:38Like it's very since it's so classy and like minimalist.
- 46:42It's like timeless. Well, I like to with with my
- 46:45car, I'm I've tried to like ride the edge of like, you know, it's
- 46:51got like the like race inspired stuff, like the like the stitch
- 46:54welding and the gutted rear. But like it like also like like
- 46:57somehow get like the like race inspired stuff, but like, also
- 47:02like the, the, the like street. Yeah, you know, look and feel.
- 47:05But without a bit of functionality too.
- 47:07You know what I mean? You know the stitch welding is
- 47:09sick, but it also works. Yeah, well, cars kind of wadded
- 47:14up back there. I know you show.
- 47:16So I kind. Of he shows me like 1 little
- 47:17pocket in the back left corner, yeah, there's like a little bit
- 47:20of a wrinkle and all I could think about is how bad our cars
- 47:23look. Yeah.
- 47:25Well, this, yeah, No, this car's got it.
- 47:27It's definitely got some shims and washers and halls reamed and
- 47:31stuff like. Every every 240 does, honestly.
- 47:34But what about future like your life?
- 47:36Oh, that's a deep my. Was not was not expected.
- 47:39Personally, yeah. Dude, what are?
- 47:40You gonna do cuz we're 30 now dude.
- 47:42Yeah, well, you. Know well you got your family
- 47:44and. Stuff that's definitely wanna
- 47:46keep supporting my my my son and watching him grow and spending
- 47:50as much time as I can with him. Said 2 1/2 years.
- 47:52Old. Yeah, he's 2 1/2.
- 47:53His name's Rowan. He's awesome.
- 47:54He's getting up and stuff. Oh, dude, yeah, he doesn't sit
- 47:58down. Yeah, he's all over.
- 48:00This is exhausting for sure. Dude being dad's probably crazy.
- 48:03Yeah, it's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me for
- 48:05sure. Thank you.
- 48:06To your wife again for letting me come out here.
- 48:08And I know dude, just thought about it.
- 48:09Oh my goodness. Gracious.
- 48:10It's a very big support system. My family's awesome.
- 48:13Yeah, I'm like thinking about this little kid running around
- 48:15now at home. Yeah.
- 48:16I know I'm like, he needs his dad right now.
- 48:18Yeah, he forced. Yeah, they're probably all
- 48:20exhausted. I'm definitely looking forward
- 48:22to spending time with them later this weekend for sure.

- 49:16We are super excited to be working with Wrecked Magazine.
- 49:19Wrecked has been capturing the best moments in Drifting since
- 49:22the mid 2000s. After a long hiatus, they have
- 49:24recently been brought back from the dead with the best people in
- 49:27the industry leading the charge. The first couple issues have
- 49:30been nothing but amazing and after speaking with these guys I
- 49:33can tell you it's only going to get better.
- 49:35Now I won't lie, a print magazine being brought back to
- 49:38life in 2026 is pretty risky move.
- 49:41It's a dying industry with video content and social media
- 49:43flooding the market. But nothing beats the nostalgic
- 49:46feeling of print. It's always been the best way to
- 49:48get a glimpse into the automotive scene that you're
- 49:50interested in. Automotive magazines were the
- 49:52reason some of us even got into cars.
- 49:54To this day I still have all my magazines from high school and
- 49:57it's so cool to be able to go back to see how the culture was
- 50:00during that specific time. And to have AUS based magazine
- 50:03that's just focused on drifting is unreal.
- 50:05They have tons of information in the first two issues that I've
- 50:08been reading through. Everything from event coverage,
- 50:10specific vehicle articles, driver profiles, shop tours,
- 50:14much more. Even the ads are cool.
- 50:16For more info or if you are looking to subscribe, head on
- 50:19over to wreckmagazine.com. They got a bunch of other cool
- 50:22stuff on there as well. We are in the middle of trying
- 50:24to get some of these to sell here at the shop, so hopefully
- 50:26in the next few months we have them here to at least check out
- 50:29or if you want to purchase them. Yeah, we can make them some
- 50:33pizza on Sunday. Dude, yo the.
- 50:36Pizza. Thing is, is, is actually pretty
- 50:38like a little bit of a yo, who is this guy?
- 50:41Well, you got to have can't just can't just be all about.
- 50:43Cars, you know, No, you got to I mean, you can, but.
- 50:46It's. Yeah, you just won't like them.
- 50:49It's crazy. I'll get.
- 50:49To that, I'll get to that point if I'm like like I, I consume
- 50:53myself with like my interests like pretty heavily.
- 50:57So if I don't like divert that, I'll just burn myself out on it
- 50:59and I won't care about it anymore.
- 51:00What else? What else you got?
- 51:01What else you into nowadays? Pizza making.
- 51:05Pizza, pizza, dude, you ever you ever come up?
- 51:10No. You gotta come by us.
- 51:11Where's the pizza inspiration coming?
- 51:13I went to my friend. Jeremies House in Pennsylvania.
- 51:16Okay, yeah, you're getting to see to see a band.
- 51:18Play. What band spray nude?
- 51:22Yeah. Oh, that does sound familiar.
- 51:24Yeah, I think Iron Chic. And.
- 51:26Get bent. Get was bent.
- 51:28Yeah, that was sounds really I I.
- 51:30Like a lot of. Philly bands.
- 51:31Philly has some really good music.
- 51:33Yeah, I'm not that far from Philly.
- 51:34Yeah. The place to stay.
- 51:35You let me know. Yeah, it was great.
- 51:36I love like old buildings I live.
- 51:38In a really old house, so Philly was really cool with that.
- 51:40But yeah, I went up there and I had some pizza there and it was
- 51:44pretty good. And that was it.
- 51:46That set it off. No, OK, I just like pizza.
- 51:49I was like I want. To start making pizza.
- 51:51You know, so we we like have a rule where we don't really eat
- 51:54pizza anytime. We leave our area, OK, Yeah,
- 51:57that's don't eat it down here. Yeah.
- 51:58It's not great. Yeah, it's not.
- 52:01Well, well. Yeah, there's.
- 52:03No, it's it's like, I'm sure there's good spots, but I.
- 52:06Live. Where there's like you can eat
- 52:08at Pizza Hut or Domino's, you know, that's like what we have,
- 52:10dude. The thing is, is like when pizza
- 52:12make, when people make. Pizza at home, it doesn't look
- 52:14like it doesn't look like the pizza that we eat, but then the
- 52:18pizza that you made looks like the pizza that we eat.
- 52:21And I was like, yeah, how do you do that?
- 52:23Yeah, Nice, nice. Charred.
- 52:25Crust. Well done, you know, kind of
- 52:26thin. I like, you know, do you make
- 52:29the dough yourself? I think I saw that on the on
- 52:31the. Highlighted dough fermented or
- 52:33you're going to get your own breed ovens.
- 52:35No, I'm using my. Home oven I can use like a
- 52:37little. Steel plate that makes it like a
- 52:38pizza oven. So yeah, it's cool.
- 52:40It's fun, yeah. But that is amazing.
- 52:44Yeah. So I definitely.
- 52:46Want to make more pizza I fucking hate.
- 52:47Cooking, bro. Really.
- 52:48Yeah, I like. Cooking.
- 52:50I think I finally learned that about myself.
- 52:51I really don't enjoy it at all, but I do it.
- 52:55But I don't want to. Like, I'll, I'll leave work and
- 52:58it's like, I took a steak out or whatever and it's in the fridge
- 53:02and I'm like, OK, I gotta go home and eat.
- 53:03And in the back of my mind, I'm like, I just want to go get
- 53:05fucking halal food and like, I just go home and eat and go to
- 53:08sleep. Yeah, it's like, I gotta go.
- 53:10And steak is the easiest thing to cook, too.
- 53:12Yeah, it really is. Yeah.
- 53:13It's still like one of those things where.
- 53:15It's like a chore to me. I don't know, it is a chore.
- 53:17What's a meal prep item that you're making?
- 53:19Steak is for you. I know you have.
- 53:20Steak and broccoli or chicken and broccoli.
- 53:22I do chicken on Sundays for meal prep.
- 53:24But yeah, that I don't really, that I don't really.
- 53:26Mind that much you know meal prep you just cook I'm.
- 53:28More of a like. Eat this, I'm gonna run by the.
- 53:31Store on the way home to have a guy grab it and that's what they
- 53:34do in the movies. The dad's coming home with, like
- 53:38a grocery bag with, like, bread and for, like, a loaf of bread
- 53:41and whatever it is just to make the sandwich for the night.
- 53:43Yeah, No. Yeah, it's.
- 53:45Yeah, we don't. We have.
- 53:47Just works out better for us that way.
- 53:48You just figured out the day of. Yeah, I mean, sometimes.
- 53:51You know you'll have leftovers. Or something you eat the next
- 53:53day or something. You know, we always have, like,
- 53:55leftover pizza sometimes. But yeah, you know, I don't.
- 53:58I've tried to like meal prep just like get to like day three
- 54:02of them. Like fuck that chicken.
- 54:05Yeah, that's the other thing. You.
- 54:06Have to be using different. Sauces like, man, I can't do
- 54:09this. I'm a.
- 54:09Creature of habit. Dude, you can give me the same
- 54:11meal every. Single day for lunch I wouldn't
- 54:13even say anything. I feel like if I did that I
- 54:15would be the same but. I don't know, I feel like.
- 54:19My wife would be like I don't want.
- 54:21To eat this anymore or something like that.
- 54:22Or I would say that, you know, not necessarily.
- 54:24And I only do it for lunch because I'm like I could.
- 54:27Lock in like that if I really wanted to.
- 54:29Yeah, and I still leave myself one day I'm like.
- 54:31I'm leaving Friday, yeah. Yeah, I can enjoy my life at
- 54:35least for one day. I get scared that you know when
- 54:37you meal prep something. Yeah, you get sick of it now
- 54:40that one day that you don't eat that, that food is probably
- 54:44going to get waste. It's not going to get eaten
- 54:46again. Like I'm not going to eat that
- 54:47the rest of the week if I had a taste of something else.
- 54:50You know what I mean? In your brain, you you satiated
- 54:53that request and now it's ruined.
- 54:55Wait, what do you mean? Like you you bake it for?
- 54:57Like you skipped. The meal and got something else
- 54:59now you're. Paying double for your meals?
- 55:01Oh yeah, that's that's why I like that method.
- 55:03The on your way home. I would like to make this.
- 55:06Maybe I'll get this for tomorrow.
- 55:07That's it. Yeah.
- 55:08I don't shop for like the full week.
- 55:10Yeah, unless it's like a frozen thing.
- 55:11I could throw it in the freezer. Yeah.
- 55:12Yeah. No, Yeah, you can definitely.
- 55:14Plan ahead with some frozen stuff.
- 55:16But yeah, you know, 'cause sometimes, you know, you get
- 55:18like, OK, I'm gonna have like, you know, some steak this day or
- 55:21like some chicken or fish or something, and you're like, you
- 55:24get to that day and you're like, that doesn't sound good at all.
- 55:25Yes, yeah, that's my fucking problem, dude.
- 55:28That's what it. Is this morning and then I will
- 55:29waste it so it's like. It makes more.
- 55:31Sense to me and then I don't know if that's even like the
- 55:33cheaper way and then I have another problem where I can't
- 55:35waste anything ever. Or like it's the end of the you
- 55:37like beat yourself up about it if you do so you're just going
- 55:39to eat 3. Meal prep days and one like I'll
- 55:41eat. Like if I didn't eat my lunch or
- 55:43something. I'll eat it Saturday like and I
- 55:45already got. I'll just eat more food just to
- 55:48not waste it. Like it makes sense.
- 55:49I wonder what that's doing. Your body's like it doesn't
- 55:51happen. Often because I'm very like
- 55:53meticulous with. Planning, but it does happen
- 55:57sometimes and I'm like, like, I've only thrown out, dude.
- 56:01I've only thrown out like a steak or something that I left
- 56:04in the fridge too long. Maybe one time fucking ever.
- 56:06Wow, literally, like I will make sure.
- 56:10Yeah, like it's it's getting. I'm not wasting any.
- 56:13You're crazy. That's that's I'm cheap.
- 56:15That's what it is. Honestly, I throw away
- 56:16leftovers. Yeah, like I really do.
- 56:18Because I'll chunk that. Steak in the trash.
- 56:20Yeah, especially if it's like you don't.
- 56:23Want it like? I.
- 56:25Don't know if you guys were the same growing up, but my parents
- 56:27were like, you better not waste that food, even if you didn't
- 56:30like it. So then unfortunately, OK, Well,
- 56:34dude, listen, it's a little like it was such a weird mentality.
- 56:37You didn't like something, but you sat through and you ate it.
- 56:40Yeah, When I got older, I remember there was like a few
- 56:43times where I'd be eating something.
- 56:45I'm like, I don't really like this.
- 56:47And then I'm sitting there and I'm like, why am I eating this?
- 56:49I'm, I'm, I'm, I live on my own. I'm talking this out.
- 56:51I'm a full grown ass. I'm going to get something else.
- 56:53Yeah. And I don't know.
- 56:55See, I don't do that. I'm like, I'm like, no, we've
- 56:57committed. To this, but I also like like.
- 57:02We we talked about this at 1:00. Other time, but I was like, I
- 57:04was like am IA masochist, but I'm I'm not but yes, I like to
- 57:08be I like to be very disciplined with stuff too.
- 57:11So it's like if we committed to this, we're just doing it and
- 57:14yeah, it is what it is. I think that's there's, yeah.
- 57:16Nothing's black and white, so there's.
- 57:18Probably some good and bad to that mentality, yeah, you know,
- 57:20but but then if someone gives me a pack of Oreos, I mean the
- 57:22whole fucking thing. So oh man, is that a weakness
- 57:25I'm. Not a sugar it used to be, but I
- 57:28oh, you're good now. Stopped eating Oreos and then I
- 57:30went back. And ate some Oreos and was like.
- 57:32That's dude, I'd rather just have like a chocolate chip.
- 57:35Cookie. I love a chocolate.
- 57:37Now you guys were talking. Oh my God.
- 57:39I mean. That's kind of like like if.
- 57:42It's like. Kind of like.
- 57:43Crispy like, also soft like got a good amount of chew, you know
- 57:48what I'm saying? That's Malcolm's fiance made
- 57:50cookies the other day. Holy shit, you ate some Eddie.
- 57:54I know you did. So they why do you put bringing
- 57:56Eddie in? Yeah, I broke the 4th.
- 57:58Wall, sorry, but. Dude, fucking amazing.
- 58:01And those are like from scratch. But I made a new rule as of like
- 58:06a year ago, I think it was a year ago, where when I go to the
- 58:08grocery store, I don't buy Oreos, chocolate, I don't buy
- 58:12any junk food no matter what. So now every time I go in there,
- 58:15I'm like, you know, you got to stick to the perimeter of the
- 58:18fucking grocery store. But if you go in the middle,
- 58:21you're fucked. Like but if you you.
- 58:22Know you say you don't like cooking, but.
- 58:24If you made. A cookie and stuff like that.
- 58:26I mean, you, I'd put the time into that.
- 58:28Yeah, that'd be different. Yeah.
- 58:29That's not junk food. That's that's.
- 58:30Something you put. The effort into, you know, dude,
- 58:33just a little bit of a hit, just just I know.
- 58:35I know dude, I'll be in there. I like text my buddies or I'll
- 58:39be like. Yo.
- 58:40This is the peak of me, like being disciplined is when I go
- 58:45to the grocery store. That's the peak because it is so
- 58:48fucking hard for me to walk through there and not get ring
- 58:51Dings or something. Like it is so hard dude.
- 58:54I feel like you avoid that food for a little bit, like I don't.
- 58:56Know if you felt this too? But when, when you get into
- 58:59those, like binges where you're eating that bad stuff, dude,
- 59:02your body raised it like it's literally drugs.
- 59:05Yeah, that's why when you get off of it and then you're like.
- 59:08I'm already. In this.
- 59:09Fuck it, I can just keep going further in this and you're just
- 59:13like making it worse for yourself instead of just like
- 59:15stopping in that minute. Yeah, it's weird to.
- 59:18Yeah, it's weird. Yeah, discipline is definitely
- 59:22something that you have to like, constantly, like, think about.
- 59:24Oh yeah, it's. Yeah, it's a good thing to
- 59:26exercise and it makes me feel good when I when I do something
- 59:30when. You get out of there.
- 59:30Yeah. And you didn't buy the Oreos.
- 59:32You're. Probably like, all right, yeah.
- 59:34I'm like, wow, OK, I'm not A and that translates.
- 59:36Over to other things for sure. For sure.
- 59:38Dude, that one, that's like when you make up and you make.
- 59:41Your bed in the morning and it sets a tone.
- 59:42That's what I do every day too. It's like one brain scratch and
- 59:45then you're like. Oh fuck it.
- 59:46Well, they. Say you have to.
- 59:48Get small wins basically throughout the day.
- 59:50So like that would be the first one.
- 59:52Who is they? I heard like two or three people
- 59:54say that in the last two weeks on podcasts usually.
- 59:58Fucking like military motherfuckers are saying that
- 1:00:01kind of shit, honestly, which is probably what's like.
- 1:00:03Put into their fucking brain in boot camp.
- 1:00:06Well, that's discipline. Like you.
- 1:00:07You mentioned the word. Discipline.
- 1:00:08Well, when you're when like when you're saying when, when you're.
- 1:00:11You know a child and your your your parents were like, you have
- 1:00:14to eat all of that. You know that discipline is like
- 1:00:17put upon you, but when you're an adult, you are the person who
- 1:00:21decides what it is you're doing with your day-to-day life and
- 1:00:25choices. So when you can exercise, you
- 1:00:28know, the things that you decide are important, cleaning your
- 1:00:31plate or not buying, you know, junk food, yeah, cookies and
- 1:00:34stuff. You know, you're you're you're
- 1:00:38you're applying that discipline to you.
- 1:00:40And that's that's like where growth happens and you get where
- 1:00:43you want to go. I think at least yeah, I think
- 1:00:45it carries out over into everything it.
- 1:00:47Spills over in everything you do, you know, some of it.
- 1:00:50Yeah. Another person that brought that
- 1:00:52up, I don't know his name, but it was on a business podcast and
- 1:00:55it was some business owner and he was saying the same thing.
- 1:00:57Sounded exactly like the other guy.
- 1:00:59He's like, yeah, like, just try to get small wins.
- 1:01:01Like he was like, you know, waking up and just brushing your
- 1:01:03teeth, like, literally that. He's like, oh, it's a small.
- 1:01:06Like he thinks of it as a win or some shit like that.
- 1:01:09And I was like, OK. I mean, like tricks himself into
- 1:01:12thinking succeeding. Yeah.
- 1:01:13So. It's like, OK, I did that,
- 1:01:14that's good. And then like I guess.
- 1:01:15Exercise, stuff like that, whatever, whatever you're doing,
- 1:01:18you know, and just kind of collecting wins as the day goes
- 1:01:21on. I don't know, it's just little
- 1:01:24things like that that help mentally.
- 1:01:28No, I think those things are great.
- 1:01:29Yeah, they definitely. You know, push you towards a
- 1:01:33greater, you know, end goal. You know, yeah, I think at
- 1:01:37least. Because if I didn't have that
- 1:01:38shit, dude, I don't know what I'd.
- 1:01:40I'd. Be needing to go to the doctor.
- 1:01:42Like ASAP because my heart would be failing right now.
- 1:01:44We've been on food for a little bit.
- 1:01:46Should we? Do we need to?
- 1:01:47Veer back. Where do you want to go?
- 1:01:49Well, how long? How long?
- 1:01:50Did you want to make this one? Well, we got to.
- 1:01:52We're going to be here for a bit.
- 1:01:53All right, Cool, cool. Because we got to do car check
- 1:01:55too and I want to definitely. Make sure we cover that.
- 1:01:57Yeah, because we need visual of this.
- 1:01:59Not a lot of people. Did you know, not a lot of
- 1:02:01people watch the video? Like you probably have a sick
- 1:02:04backdrop right now. And like, not a lot of people
- 1:02:06watch it on Spotify. Yeah.
- 1:02:07Oh, yeah. I like, yeah, I'll watch.
- 1:02:09I'll. I'll listen.
- 1:02:10To the I want to make sure it's this video if y'all like talk
- 1:02:12about something. I'll like, oh, I need to see
- 1:02:14that. And pull it up.
- 1:02:14Yeah. But yeah, you know, podcasts are
- 1:02:17great for. Just like when you're working
- 1:02:18and I kind of want to like little bit of noise, you know,
- 1:02:22dude, sometimes when you're alone like that, that's all I
- 1:02:24want. You know what I mean?
- 1:02:25Just somebody like, say some shit.
- 1:02:26Yeah, it kind of scratches that. Like human desire.
- 1:02:29For like communication, it's nuts to me that there's a lot of
- 1:02:32people just like you. That listen to the podcast and
- 1:02:34they're sometimes when I'm in the shop, that's some of the
- 1:02:37most frustrating time I could be going through.
- 1:02:42And then you have this on. Yeah, nuts.
- 1:02:45Yeah. And we probably are talking
- 1:02:46about some of the same shit that they're going through.
- 1:02:48Yeah, you're probably sitting there, feet under your car.
- 1:02:50Crossed like staring up and then here we are bullshit staring up.
- 1:02:57I like that like you're. Standing and then you just.
- 1:02:59Stop and you're like. This is something like.
- 1:03:04Why? Why am I here?
- 1:03:05It's it's 1:30 in the morning, I'm sanding a 240SX for the
- 1:03:10second time, but then you're done and.
- 1:03:13I think that's what I like. About the body we're on is like
- 1:03:16you're done and you have something there to look at, even
- 1:03:21if it was like the first stages of a of a.
- 1:03:23Repair like. These arches, we can talk about
- 1:03:25these arches because the early stages where you pulled them and
- 1:03:30use the wiggle wire. Dude, do you even know what
- 1:03:32wiggle wires? Yeah, Uh huh.
- 1:03:33Yeah. There's.
- 1:03:34You're about to learn me something, dude.
- 1:03:36Yeah. It's nuts.
- 1:03:37It's actually insane. But but you, you go through all
- 1:03:39of that, even at that first phase where you showed me where
- 1:03:42it's all raw, I would be geeking.
- 1:03:43I'd be like fuck yeah, that shit looks awesome.
- 1:03:46Yeah, next day you go. Or you prime it, whatever.
- 1:03:48Next day you come in, it's all fucking smooth.
- 1:03:50Yeah. You know, it's ready for the
- 1:03:51next step. And it's, yeah, you're quicker
- 1:03:53than me. It's there.
- 1:03:55No, no. This.
- 1:03:56Is all you know really easy to say, right?
- 1:03:58Right. Right.
- 1:03:59But you know what I mean. Like.
- 1:04:00It's there. It's.
- 1:04:00Very. Rewarding.
- 1:04:02Oh gosh, what is the? Deal with these quarter panels.
- 1:04:06So. I'd say they're like Ito
- 1:04:12inspired. So you know, like the brake Ito
- 1:04:15car he had the pumped up, he cut his to pull him out, I think.
- 1:04:20Yeah, Cole. Yeah, Cole was talking about
- 1:04:21that kind of talk to you all. About that I wanted kind.
- 1:04:24Of the same look, I kind of went about it my own way so I rolled
- 1:04:28them first. I didn't use like a roller.
- 1:04:31I use like hammer and Dolly. Yeah, that's usually the best
- 1:04:34way to get that lip flat. I feel like.
- 1:04:36Well. Yeah, I just didn't want.
- 1:04:39To I wanted to like kind of focus the areas I was moving
- 1:04:42out, but a roller would have got like a flatter pull to begin
- 1:04:46with. But the way I was finishing the
- 1:04:47body work, it wasn't really that big of a deal.
- 1:04:49But yeah, so I made the, you know, the typical like, flare
- 1:04:52pull, and I pulled them about 1517mm.
- 1:04:57I remember that. It's just about as pulled as the
- 1:05:00pink 180 in there. How do you measure it?
- 1:05:02Did you put a ruler right at the body line?
- 1:05:04And. Then I have AI have like a
- 1:05:06factory. Shell like a like a OEM quarter
- 1:05:10shell. So based from that, I just added
- 1:05:15that and kind of measured on my car where that lands and stuff.
- 1:05:18So yeah, pulled them 17 mil, I think it was like 1515 or 17 or
- 1:05:23something like that. And then so then you have the
- 1:05:26flare, you know, you're like a little rolled look and it's got
- 1:05:29like the the low spot. And then I use I have like a
- 1:05:33multiple pull welder. So it's like a welder with like
- 1:05:36a probe and then you can have like a slide hammer on that.
- 1:05:40And then there's an attachment for it.
- 1:05:42The wiggle wire like he was talking about, it's just like a
- 1:05:45like wiggly piece of copper. It looks like a swirl and then
- 1:05:49you Weld in between those pieces and you can have like a claw
- 1:05:52that pulls it out Even so these body lines they're not like you
- 1:05:57look at a OEM body 240 they're they're flat.
- 1:05:59These are kind of like they kind of like hips now it's like kind
- 1:06:04of like an over Fender shape but on the OEM metal and then so I
- 1:06:08pulled those lines out and then the flare area that low spot.
- 1:06:12I then pulled all that out flat and then finished it all with
- 1:06:15filler. So kind of the same same style
- 1:06:18with no cutting yeah. So it sounds a lot better to be
- 1:06:20honest with you, because the. Cutting thing.
- 1:06:22I'm like, damn. Well, the the cutting thing is
- 1:06:24definitely. Faster.
- 1:06:26Well, I'd say old. School and.
- 1:06:28Very Japanese. Yeah.
- 1:06:31It's very barbaric, yeah. So I have.
- 1:06:35You know. New Age.
- 1:06:37Tools and processes to accomplish the same look, I
- 1:06:41think I got close. It's kind of like my own thing.
- 1:06:44It's I wouldn't say it's spot on the way it has looked and but
- 1:06:47you know, it's. You know, kind of accomplish.
- 1:06:52The same thing with a different process, a little bit less
- 1:06:54invasive too. How do you feel when you found
- 1:06:56out about that? Like the how he did.
- 1:06:58His because I was fucking like, what?
- 1:07:00I wasn't really that surprised. I mean, yeah, I.
- 1:07:02Mean I would think about like, because if I thought, OK, this
- 1:07:05is how I want this to look, that would be one of the like things
- 1:07:08that I would consider. I'm like one of those people
- 1:07:10that I go back and look at those cars.
- 1:07:12And I'm just like, oh, they just rolled the quarter panel.
- 1:07:15It just looks like that, you know, and then you find out it's
- 1:07:18like, Nah, he fucking spent months on.
- 1:07:20I think I was probably impressed because it's probably like.
- 1:07:22DIY and I love that like Japan seems like they they take on a
- 1:07:27lot more like at their house then the general like American
- 1:07:32build here. You know, they really, really
- 1:07:35DIYA lot of stuff down to like their paint, some of them and
- 1:07:38just and the quality is just like, yeah, it's amazing, yeah.
- 1:07:41They're very like, but when I went over there for the first.
- 1:07:44Time and I saw everything. Like how they exist.
- 1:07:47I'm like, these people are just like this.
- 1:07:49Yeah, in everything. It's a yeah, the culture, I
- 1:07:52guess. Yeah, I've never been.
- 1:07:53So it's a 100 and percent and 100.
- 1:07:56Percent at everything, yeah, that you can do your full
- 1:07:59effort, which is so nice with what you have, with what you
- 1:08:02have. So like a lot of people, like, I
- 1:08:05don't know the the word butcher is like like a shortcutter, like
- 1:08:09it's, it's like hodgepodge together.
- 1:08:12But if when you do go, because I know you're you're going to end
- 1:08:15up over there at some point, I feel like maybe yeah, at one
- 1:08:18day. Yeah.
- 1:08:18You really don't have a lot of. Desire to go?
- 1:08:20There, I said the same thing. I said the same thing, but then
- 1:08:22you'll find. Yourself there and you're going
- 1:08:23to be like, yeah, like maybe, just maybe just for like a
- 1:08:25family. Trip one day, chairs will be
- 1:08:28really small. I mean eating.
- 1:08:31At restaurants kind of seems like it would.
- 1:08:33Stress me. Go for two weeks and you'll
- 1:08:34actually you know. What I'm saying?
- 1:08:36No, no. Yeah, no.
- 1:08:37Honestly, now talking to Logan for a little bit, I could see
- 1:08:39how, dude, it would be extremely daunting.
- 1:08:42Be comfortable. Yeah.
- 1:08:43But the best part about it, at least when I was there, because
- 1:08:46sometimes I some people will tell me, I don't get that from
- 1:08:51you like. You get anxious.
- 1:08:53Like in random places where you feel really small and there's
- 1:08:57way too many people around, there's so many noises, you
- 1:08:59don't really know where to be, where to fit, what to say.
- 1:09:02In Japan, for some reason, no one's paying attention to you.
- 1:09:06There's too many people. So then you kind of have your
- 1:09:09own little world and you can experience it in your own way.
- 1:09:11Well, yeah, I guess here's the other thing.
- 1:09:14Is that like so? Obviously it costs a lot of
- 1:09:16money. Oh shit load to go to another
- 1:09:19country. Right, to be honest.
- 1:09:21I really don't agree with that in Japan.
- 1:09:23Really. Yeah.
- 1:09:24OK, so, well, there's a. There's a time investment, you
- 1:09:27know, I'd have to take off time for work and and so I would be
- 1:09:31going and doing that and my thought process is if I'm doing
- 1:09:34that, like I'm going to take my family, yes, and I think I have
- 1:09:36my drift interest, right and car interest, and that would be
- 1:09:40great for me to do that. But is that something that's
- 1:09:43like like serving my like, I mean, I don't know you.
- 1:09:46My wife has no. Interest.
- 1:09:48Exactly. So I was.
- 1:09:49Going to say I don't know what you like, why don't we go?
- 1:09:51To like, we would probably both like to go to like Ireland.
- 1:09:53Or something like that. So maybe, like, I mean, I heard
- 1:09:55Ireland's awesome too. Yeah, so some.
- 1:09:57Like I feel like there's some like.
- 1:09:59Maybe Japan someday if it worked out for just me.
- 1:10:01But like, I don't know, if I were to think about something
- 1:10:04like in the immediate, somewhat immediate future, it'd be like
- 1:10:07it just Japan wouldn't be on the top of the line, dude.
- 1:10:09I kind of like hearing that though, because because always.
- 1:10:11When you talk to somebody, yeah, doesn't serve my.
- 1:10:14When you talk to somebody lately, it's like.
- 1:10:16Oh, like. I would love to go to Japan too.
- 1:10:19Like that would have been so. Easy for me to expect that
- 1:10:21answer from you. And then I I got that one and
- 1:10:23it's like, you know what? Like sometimes I like it here, I
- 1:10:28love it here. I love it here you're talking
- 1:10:31and. We have the things.
- 1:10:32That we like here. And you, you have your drift
- 1:10:34stuff here. Yeah.
- 1:10:35So I guess it was kind of weird for me to assume that you would
- 1:10:37have wanted to go to Japan too. Yeah.
- 1:10:38No, I mean I would. I mean, I would go, yeah, but it
- 1:10:43just wouldn't. I don't know if it's going to
- 1:10:44happen because it's like, it's not, Yeah.
- 1:10:46Like if I think about that, I think, well, I want to do that.
- 1:10:49I don't go, like to go, you know?
- 1:10:51Yeah, I think you'd have to go with DO in Japan.
- 1:10:53Friends then, and you'd have to do.
- 1:10:55It be at the right. Time and right yeah you have a
- 1:10:57lot going on the. Which is kind of what happened
- 1:10:59to me, honestly. It was someone was like we're.
- 1:11:01Going you got forced your your hand got forced to go.
- 1:11:04Josh is smart. He.
- 1:11:06He. Involved business.
- 1:11:07So he was like, Frankie will come if I involved it.
- 1:11:09And he was right and he got me. So yeah, so I went and I got to
- 1:11:13experience everything else and do business stuff too.
- 1:11:16So it was like, you know, it was worth it for me.
- 1:11:18It was, it was fun. But yeah, I was the same way.
- 1:11:20I was like, I don't really need to go there.
- 1:11:22Like, and everyone's like, yeah, you do.
- 1:11:24And I'm like, like, I don't know.
- 1:11:27I mean, yeah, it's going to be yeah, it would be cool.
- 1:11:29But I thought the same. I'm like, it's going to be
- 1:11:30expensive. Like I got to go away for a
- 1:11:32while, like I don't know. But then you get there and you
- 1:11:34experience it and I'm like, yeah, it's pretty fucking.
- 1:11:38Amazing here. So I I think I get it like once
- 1:11:40you go, you get it a little bit more, but you have a lot of shit
- 1:11:43going on. So I get it with the family and
- 1:11:45whatnot. But back to the cards being the
- 1:11:46cards that you're dealt thing like.
- 1:11:48The cars that when, let's say when they take the cars apart
- 1:11:51like those. An example is a Kay at super
- 1:11:54life. He has some speed wagon thing,
- 1:11:57had some speed wagon thing that's so cool and like the
- 1:12:00pillars. And everything like.
- 1:12:02That the car was in a magazine, it looked cool.
- 1:12:05It's now fantastically correct and done with metal and whatever
- 1:12:09it is that Kay does with his special hands and talent.
- 1:12:13But when it got there, it had all this foam and all this gross
- 1:12:16shit and it's oh, it's so bad. But dude, after being there and
- 1:12:20seeing like the access to materials and dude, imagine
- 1:12:23trying to, I couldn't even imagine trying to get a gallon
- 1:12:27of bondo or like, yeah, dude, they don't have shit or like a
- 1:12:30bondo. Board or spread?
- 1:12:32Restrictions or something. It's just like nowhere to get.
- 1:12:35It bro. When I go there, it's like
- 1:12:37you're. Stepping back into another era
- 1:12:40in time. It makes no sense.
- 1:12:42But then, but then you'll go somewhere to a city and you're
- 1:12:44like, this place is so crazy. It's like futuristic.
- 1:12:46And then you go to a shop and they got no workbenches and
- 1:12:49you're like, what are we doing? And like you're using a fucking
- 1:12:52vice on the on the ground and you're like, why are we doing it
- 1:12:54like this? Like why don't we?
- 1:12:56And there's no power tools. Like it's weird, dude.
- 1:12:58It's I, I mean, I know one thing is they don't really have, like
- 1:13:02they don't have like Lowe's and Home Depot there.
- 1:13:04There might be a similar thing somewhere over there.
- 1:13:06By far. Yeah.
- 1:13:06It's like not like that, though. Yeah.
- 1:13:08It's not like pop. It's so crazy.
- 1:13:09Dude, yeah. Like I, that's why I love it
- 1:13:12here for that. Yeah.
- 1:13:14Like, I feel like we're set up where we actually have access to
- 1:13:17a lot of things that keep these cars going.
- 1:13:20Yeah, like in terms of parts or even access to where you can get
- 1:13:24the parts or. And we have a lot of materials
- 1:13:26to fix it. We have a lot more freedom with
- 1:13:28stuff too, and the laws and everything.
- 1:13:30Like they, I'm pretty sure they like tax the shit out of you and
- 1:13:33with registration and whatnot. If the car's older than five
- 1:13:35years and all that, they don't make it easy to be a car
- 1:13:38enthusiast. I feel like over there.
- 1:13:40So it's like that's another real big benefit of of here.
- 1:13:43I feel like I don't greatest country on planet or I.
- 1:13:47Don't know how much. Like well.
- 1:13:49I'm sure there's some I'm just not thinking about, but I don't
- 1:13:51really know how much like inspiration I pull, like from
- 1:13:54like modern day Japan. None.
- 1:13:59Yeah, looking at this. No, yeah, this is.
- 1:14:02So that's another thing it's like I'm going over.
- 1:14:04There like, yeah, there will be cars and stuff, but I mean, and
- 1:14:07I'm saying like, I'm sure there's stuff I'm just blanking
- 1:14:10on like there's good cars or not.
- 1:14:12Oh yeah. But you know, that's just not
- 1:14:14really. I pull a lot more inspiration
- 1:14:16for like stuff. Well, yeah.
- 1:14:18And stuff that people are doing like here too.
- 1:14:20Yeah. You know this, this is a very if
- 1:14:24you let's say I. Saw this car in Japan?
- 1:14:26That's a very. This is a very a rare thing to
- 1:14:28see, dude. This.
- 1:14:29Yeah, this would be like, it's not like I feel like it's 20.
- 1:14:31Years ago, yeah, like this is. Yeah.
- 1:14:33It's. It's the sport it's kind of
- 1:14:35like. Evolving, you know, like it's
- 1:14:37evolving there, Yeah. And like, to me, it's a
- 1:14:40different game. To me, it's kind of like they
- 1:14:42had cars like this. At least from what we saw.
- 1:14:45We never saw them in real life. I mean, they could have been
- 1:14:47piles of shit, but they had cars like this styled the way we
- 1:14:50like. And then it's like drifting
- 1:14:52started getting big in America. And then all of a sudden they
- 1:14:54started building cars like they did here.
- 1:14:56And it's like, no, no, stop, wait, no.
- 1:14:58And then now it's like, that's how it looks to me.
- 1:15:01I'm like, and now we're building like way cooler cars like this
- 1:15:05in the style that they used to do.
- 1:15:07Some would say they're progressing, yeah.
- 1:15:10Or we're like going the opposite way, you know?
- 1:15:12But at the end of the day, it's like everyone's got their own
- 1:15:14style. So I just think that stuff like
- 1:15:16this is timeless because it. Happened and we're reveling and
- 1:15:19it's still you know what I mean it didn't go away right it's
- 1:15:24fucking here and here to stay it's like it's.
- 1:15:28Like if you saw. This car years down the line in
- 1:15:30a museum or something. I don't know if that's where
- 1:15:33we're headed, but like that car, like I'm looking at it and like,
- 1:15:38this is S13. Like this is a beautiful S13.
- 1:15:42Timeless. It's not like, oh, God damn,
- 1:15:44that's way too over the top for this.
- 1:15:46It was too over the top for that.
- 1:15:47It has its own character. And that's what makes it nice.
- 1:15:50Yeah. And timeless because, dude, I
- 1:15:52feel like a lot of this stuff right now is it's it's really
- 1:15:55easy to get lost in the mess. Yeah.
- 1:15:57Yeah, I agree. You know, Origin.
- 1:15:59This origin that. Yeah.
- 1:16:03Top, top distributor origin, by the way.
- 1:16:05Yeah, did. You get like a That's your
- 1:16:06fault. You get like.
- 1:16:07A free one. Or something.
- 1:16:08Right now I don't think you want an origin.
- 1:16:10Body kit I don't think origin. Will touch.
- 1:16:13OK, So what is the? Front again, Easy OSM, easy OSM.
- 1:16:18It's, yeah, it's it's. Like I think it's.
- 1:16:20Basically like A Cole mentioned. That lip, once on his pod did.
- 1:16:23Yeah, it's OK. Yeah, I know that.
- 1:16:26It's kind of like a like, I guess it's kind of like hot.
- 1:16:28It's like a more aggressive like Cokie lip.
- 1:16:31Yeah. So like hot Rd.
- 1:16:33I don't know if it's actually the shape of hot Rd. but then it
- 1:16:36has like a molded like little splitter on it.
- 1:16:39Yeah, dude, it's kind of like fucking cool.
- 1:16:41And what's the rest of it? It's.
- 1:16:43Also easy. ISM OK but.
- 1:16:45It's, you know, the reproduction of like G grow.
- 1:16:49OK, yeah. So the old is it supposed to?
- 1:16:53Is the lip supposed? To be part of this kit or no the
- 1:16:55front bumper's. Cokie with the front bumper is
- 1:16:59kind of. Crazy.
- 1:17:00That matches this kit. A lot of people don't like it.
- 1:17:03It's got a big I think I think you all talked about it on Yeah,
- 1:17:08we did. We did.
- 1:17:08It's got a really big. It's someone it's oh, wait, did
- 1:17:13I say I liked it? Yeah.
- 1:17:14I think you liked it. And I was like, yeah, all right.
- 1:17:16Frankie because I'd rock 1. But you'd have to do.
- 1:17:19Like, like if you're going to pull that style off, you have to
- 1:17:22like do because like the GT510 cars, I don't know if I'm
- 1:17:26referring to them as right things, but like they had work
- 1:17:30metal buffs, C archives as well. And I looked at those cars a lot
- 1:17:34and that's kind of the reason why I have these wheels and
- 1:17:35they're my favorite wheels ever. These wheels are perfect and Oh
- 1:17:39yeah. And.
- 1:17:41But they had like the full arrow and you have to kind of have the
- 1:17:43wing too and the wings kind of crazy.
- 1:17:45And then you have to have the custom quarters like they did
- 1:17:49it's and then the front fenders. And it's just like none of that
- 1:17:52fits in with my car style. So I love when you can have a
- 1:17:57Cokie front. And then put a lip on, you know,
- 1:18:01just run the lip, but then have a body kit side and rear.
- 1:18:04Yeah, like that's. Oh, it's kind of like a lip kit.
- 1:18:07Yeah. Because this is a lip as.
- 1:18:08Well. Oh, so the rear is a lip Yeah,
- 1:18:10so and I like how like if you're you know, if your lip comes off,
- 1:18:13you don't kind of look like a drift dork without a bumper.
- 1:18:16You know what I mean dude, Because the rear bumper on the
- 1:18:18S13 does not if you. Got the OEM one.
- 1:18:21It will not come off. Yeah, yeah, they're, I've never
- 1:18:24had one come off. And.
- 1:18:25If you crack if. Dude, I've gotten rear-ended
- 1:18:27from a buddy. We were at a stop sign, the
- 1:18:30stock bar with the everything stock in there still dude,
- 1:18:34solid. Yeah, they're it's solid.
- 1:18:37Yeah, they're they're like 5 miles an hour or.
- 1:18:40Less but like still. It ate the hell out of it and it
- 1:18:43was like a new Gallant or whatever fucking 248 it yeah, I
- 1:18:47would just leave the rear the rear bash bar.
- 1:18:49Like the when I had AS 13 I did something similar.
- 1:18:53Without even knowing, I guess. But I bought a Duraflex kit.
- 1:18:56I was like a fucking kid. And the top of the bumper for
- 1:19:00the Hatch, The mold was so terrible that Chris had an idea
- 1:19:06to cut it in half right at the body line.
- 1:19:09You know how they have that dent right there?
- 1:19:11We cut it right. There like a lip, trimmed it up,
- 1:19:13made. Our own lip.
- 1:19:14And it worked. In my.
- 1:19:15Opinion better because now all we had to worry about was
- 1:19:18fitting a lip instead of fitting the full because that line where
- 1:19:22the corner is out to that round bit on a on a bad arrow kit
- 1:19:27looks really bad. It looks really bad and you
- 1:19:30can't flatten it to do anything because now you're going to end
- 1:19:33up putting a hole in it. You have to rebuild the yeah,
- 1:19:35it's just going to on top. Of the top of it, yeah.
- 1:19:38Yeah, I definitely wanted to like.
- 1:19:40I definitely. Wanted to minimize the amount of
- 1:19:42fiberglass on my car too, being a body guy like the waviness
- 1:19:45kind of, I don't know why that and I don't want to spend a lot
- 1:19:49of time like straightening out stuff that I was going to break
- 1:19:52either. So like that's why I kind of
- 1:19:53still have like the OEM hood. Oh yeah.
- 1:19:57And I. Do have like a little addition?
- 1:20:00To the Vanquish hood spoiler and then deleted the windshield
- 1:20:05washers nozzles. Yeah, so that kind of pulls.
- 1:20:07It off a little better, so it kind of.
- 1:20:08It was like a aftermarket hood vibe but such little nuances in
- 1:20:12there. I wouldn't.
- 1:20:13Have even noticed. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:15So yeah, the hood spoiler is. Fucking I call it the wiper.
- 1:20:18Wing Fuck no. I need to.
- 1:20:19I need to. I need to.
- 1:20:21Flatten my stuff a lot better. I need to get more and sometimes
- 1:20:24the kid doesn't want to. I have.
- 1:20:27So if. It's like depending on what I'm
- 1:20:30working on, I just have like dura blocks, but depending on
- 1:20:32how Ken, Ken Fuji has a block that's like hard, it's like made
- 1:20:39out of like polycarbonate. Yeah, yeah, that's what I use a
- 1:20:42lot now. I love cut fast, fast, really
- 1:20:46fast. I was going to say, if you're
- 1:20:47not, I'll use I'll use a durablock to kind of knock down
- 1:20:50like wipe lines from killer. And then once you get, you know,
- 1:20:54past like you know your 80 grit level when you're about to, you
- 1:20:57know, you're wanting to start making stuff straight, I'll swap
- 1:20:59over to a rigid block. Oh, it's so good.
- 1:21:01I honestly won't go back. To a durablock after.
- 1:21:04That unless it's like a curved surface and I need to kind of
- 1:21:07have the block form to it a little bit dude, that thing I
- 1:21:09was like holy crap because. I don't know, I I'm still like,
- 1:21:15I'll use guide code and stuff like that to fly and stuff.
- 1:21:16But at the same time, like always, when you're done with
- 1:21:19the guide code, I'm still over here for there's guide code on
- 1:21:22it and I'm still like touching it.
- 1:21:24Well, a lot of so like I don't know if it's just.
- 1:21:27In the collision industry, but a lot of guys are like, oh, I
- 1:21:29don't need guide code, I don't need training wheels.
- 1:21:31But like, so if you're fixing a dent and then like the feather
- 1:21:36edge and you know you've like D8 outside of it, you're going to
- 1:21:38block and you're going to get scratches out there.
- 1:21:41And then how are you going to know that that scratch is out
- 1:21:44there unless you're using guide code?
- 1:21:45You got to extend that guide code on your feather edge, you
- 1:21:48know, before you prime, because then you prime.
- 1:21:49You could think you got all the sand scratches out and you put
- 1:21:52primer on it. Do you like the spray one or do
- 1:21:54you like the rub one? Well, if I'm doing metal work.
- 1:21:58I'll use spray guide coat and then DA it to help find Lowe's,
- 1:22:02give myself a visual aid. If I'm working body filler, I'll
- 1:22:06use the powder. Yeah, so they have different
- 1:22:08uses, but I use them both. Yeah, I'll keep that in mind
- 1:22:13because like I'm not really going.
- 1:22:14Down to metal a lot of times nowadays because like it's
- 1:22:18usually just like a kit like a 5 year old kid and like.
- 1:22:22A repair. So it's kind of cool because
- 1:22:26then, you know, obviously it's just going to get more and more.
- 1:22:29Somebody's going to have me at get something down the metal
- 1:22:31eventually and then at least now I'll know.
- 1:22:33Sorry, sorry to interrupt. I can't bring refreshments.
- 1:22:39Oh well, thank. You kit.
- 1:22:40Oh my. Goodness.
- 1:22:41Here we go, we have Kit from oblivion.
- 1:22:43He hates us all. I'm.
- 1:22:44Just kidding. We're here.
- 1:22:46Thank you dude. Thank you, actually, Damn.
- 1:22:49Dude, Oh my gosh, you're that. Can sounded empty as.
- 1:22:52Hell too. Ohh my gosh, since they were
- 1:22:54watching us on that little camera, are they actually that?
- 1:22:56Camera actually fucking work. I don't.
- 1:22:58Know. That'd be kind of cool.
- 1:23:00No fucking way. Does that thing work?
- 1:23:02Dude, This is dude. The the the Texas hospitality.
- 1:23:05Is this shit man I'm so far this is great.
- 1:23:07This is like a garage and a garage.
- 1:23:08And a garage. Yeah, this place is really cool.
- 1:23:11Yeah, again. Didn't know that this was not a
- 1:23:13normal. Thing, no, yeah, when you were
- 1:23:16like, did you do you have anywhere?
- 1:23:17To do a podcast. I was like, this was the first
- 1:23:19place that came to mind, just because I've seen pictures of.
- 1:23:21I've never been here. Yeah.
- 1:23:23I was like, yeah, I want to go see that place.
- 1:23:25He just said yeah, yeah, they're cool, yeah.
- 1:23:28This is cool, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:23:30Yeah, they're, I mean, obviously you can see they're.
- 1:23:32All really interested in this and so they all keep their cars
- 1:23:35here too. Like, I guess so, yeah, 'cause
- 1:23:38that's like, yeah, yeah, they were telling me.
- 1:23:40Someone was telling me that they were like.
- 1:23:41Oh, they all live in the same place.
- 1:23:42I was like, what? I believe that's like the dream.
- 1:23:45That's like the. Fast and Furious Dream.
- 1:23:46Yeah, like. That that is like I don't want
- 1:23:48to put too. I don't want.
- 1:23:49To put their business out there. So I don't want to be like
- 1:23:51saying, well, you're going to talk to yeah, yeah, we'll, we'll
- 1:23:53talk to a couple of. Them or something, right?
- 1:23:55Oh, we. Definitely talked to Colin.
- 1:23:56Yeah, so. Yeah, yeah, he'll be able.
- 1:23:57To give you some, we'll get the info from one insight to but
- 1:23:59yeah, it's. Just a the insurance.
- 1:24:01And outs of their it was. It's pretty overwhelming being
- 1:24:04in here. Because of how nice everybody
- 1:24:05has been. So I definitely want to make
- 1:24:06sure that I say that at least. Yeah, like that that's it's
- 1:24:11always weird. You don't ever want to be like,
- 1:24:12this is a lot of expensive shit, dude, like and it's just we met
- 1:24:18each other and now we're here like what?
- 1:24:21It's always so amazing to me when.
- 1:24:22That kind of thing happens. And the fact that we just
- 1:24:24thought about doing this three weeks ago.
- 1:24:26No, you told me about this on Wednesday.
- 1:24:29No, I know that, but I mean like he.
- 1:24:31Told me before he told me. Yeah, like you.
- 1:24:35Know. What?
- 1:24:36The fuck it. Must have been.
- 1:24:37It was Wednesday and I was like, I should probably.
- 1:24:39Tell Carl what we're doing and you're just this Wednesday.
- 1:24:42That's cool. Well, this well.
- 1:24:43Basically I was like. And I was.
- 1:24:45Like, Carl, are you down for this weekend?
- 1:24:47Because I told him like a week or two ago, but we didn't follow
- 1:24:50up on it. And then he's like, wait, like,
- 1:24:52like this Friday? And I'm like, yeah.
- 1:24:55And he's like, I don't know, man.
- 1:24:57I don't know. And I remember I.
- 1:24:58Texted you I was like yo. I don't think it's going to.
- 1:25:00And then I was like, I think you have to wait a week.
- 1:25:01And then he's like, no, fuck it, fuck it, we'll do it this week.
- 1:25:04And I was an hour later. It was.
- 1:25:06It was all. Thanks to the fact.
- 1:25:07That because I was, I'm babysitting a puppy and I didn't
- 1:25:12want to leave the puppy with my housemates because it's to me
- 1:25:17that's like. Such a cop out.
- 1:25:18It's, it's to me like, oh, it's oh, they're there so they can do
- 1:25:21it. So I found another friend of
- 1:25:23mine. Thankfully Ken is watching the
- 1:25:26puppy that was my one. He loves dogs, so he does.
- 1:25:30I also just love animals and. Anything so like, I just want to
- 1:25:34make sure that was taken care of.
- 1:25:35That was my only concern. Yeah, other than that, I was
- 1:25:38like, all right, I'll probably find a way down there.
- 1:25:40I get to see Brad. I got I freaking Brad's the one
- 1:25:43I went to Japan with and spent like a lot of time with.
- 1:25:45I'm like, I don't know, it's just fun.
- 1:25:47We get to hang out. Dude, I had Mad Tex.
- 1:25:49We had Tex Mex earlier and oh, really?
- 1:25:52We just what did I have? I had.
- 1:25:54Like steak, chicken, fajitas and beans and rice and just fucking
- 1:26:00died. You said that.
- 1:26:02You said there's like. Taco carts around here and
- 1:26:06stuff? I think so.
- 1:26:08Do you know where we are? Definitely.
- 1:26:09Some good talk. I'd get some tacos.
- 1:26:11What? You're doing.
- 1:26:11I'm wondering how late they're open.
- 1:26:12That's the only thing I'm wondering.
- 1:26:13I'm. Sure.
- 1:26:14Yeah, pretty late. Yeah, OK, I'm.
- 1:26:16Sure. Do we get questions for this?
- 1:26:17I can't give you any kind of like.
- 1:26:19Recommendation. Yeah, because I'm, I'm from
- 1:26:21here, dude. We.
- 1:26:22Would have taken anything. We would have listened to Loki.
- 1:26:24I don't have any. So you're from like what?
- 1:26:27I'm. About 3 hours like north.
- 1:26:30Yeah, Texas is too big, man. Yeah.
- 1:26:32Yeah, it is big, Yeah, so. We're I don't even know what the
- 1:26:36fuck we are right now. We're in Houston.
- 1:26:38I know we're in Houston but I'm trying to picture.
- 1:26:40It on a map. Because Dallas is above Houston,
- 1:26:43right? Yeah, East.
- 1:26:46So you or what? Closer to them or no?
- 1:26:49Closer to Dallas area. Dallas is like 2.
- 1:26:52Hours West of me. OK.
- 1:26:54So yeah, yeah. So you're almost like that and
- 1:26:58like Louisiana, like East Texas. OK yeah, yeah, y'all get some
- 1:27:02crazy ass weather out there. Sometimes I feel like I.
- 1:27:04Drove some through some crazy storm once the lightning was
- 1:27:08insane. Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of.
- 1:27:12Crazy weather, I guess. I mean, I don't know it.
- 1:27:14Doesn't seem crazy to me because.
- 1:27:15Yeah, yeah. But yeah, there's, I think it's
- 1:27:17because it's just so open out here, you know?
- 1:27:19What I mean, like, there's not really a lot of mountains and
- 1:27:21stuff like that. Yeah, Yeah, I guess that's true
- 1:27:24because. When we think about where we
- 1:27:25live, you don't, You don't think about.
- 1:27:27Mountains. But we are literally on a
- 1:27:29mountain. Literally.
- 1:27:30It's like, yeah, up and down. But is this?
- 1:27:32Our dude, our estate is so. Tiny and fucked like and when I
- 1:27:36come to think about it when and we get to come here, there's
- 1:27:40room for stuff and people there's traffic at 4:00 which I
- 1:27:45noticed was horrible here. Yeah, that was kind of weird.
- 1:27:48All of us, I think, like. Really bad, but.
- 1:27:51Aside from that, like. The state is massive, dude.
- 1:27:56Everything's bigger in Texas. Yeah, dude, nothing's.
- 1:27:58Walkable. No, no that.
- 1:28:00Sucks. Kind of that's kind.
- 1:28:01Of crazy because you could. Walk everywhere.
- 1:28:04Not everywhere in New Jersey, but you could walk somewhere
- 1:28:06where you could get food. Yeah, like when I was in.
- 1:28:10Philly, it was, Oh yeah. It was like, they're like I
- 1:28:12we'll just, we'll just park a couple blocks.
- 1:28:14And I was like, what's a block? You know, like we're going to go
- 1:28:18here. Like we're going to go, but we
- 1:28:20need to park over here and we'll just walk to this place.
- 1:28:22And it's just very, like, very different than here.
- 1:28:27Yeah. Because here you got to drive
- 1:28:30anywhere, you know. Very.
- 1:28:33Car dependent. Even in our big cities they're
- 1:28:35not not not drivable. At least you get to drive this.
- 1:28:40Like I needed. A better.
- 1:28:41Grocery. Mobile and where's like?
- 1:28:45I mean, Carl, you probably know this, but where?
- 1:28:46Where do people drift here? Like.
- 1:28:47How far is it from here? Like where's the knuckle up
- 1:28:49place? Like I think they said it was an
- 1:28:51hour, it's an hour. Like north of here?
- 1:28:54Oh, OK. So it's kind of yeah.
- 1:28:56So it's like 3. Hours.
- 1:28:57From my house to, you know, where they do knuckle up?
- 1:29:01Speed sports. Speed sports.
- 1:29:02Yeah. I like that track, dude.
- 1:29:04I like that. Yeah, I like that there's a.
- 1:29:05Taco Bell very nearby. I like that there is a gas
- 1:29:09station right outside. Of the gate.
- 1:29:11Dude, it's honestly so set up to be an easy place to have a track
- 1:29:17day. Yeah, they do a really good job,
- 1:29:19Jimmy. Knuckle yeah, they really wrote
- 1:29:21them good and a bunch of really cool people there.
- 1:29:25Dude, I don't know, someone was saying in there.
- 1:29:27Before we were talking about cars and I was like, yeah, all
- 1:29:30the cool cars are in Texas now. Someone said who Did someone say
- 1:29:33they were like so and so has a lot to do with that or
- 1:29:36something? Jimmy, Probably Jimmy.
- 1:29:37Did they did he say Jimmy? He might have said Jimmy.
- 1:29:39Yeah. I mean, he's, he's done a lot
- 1:29:40for supporting giving. People, you know, a place to,
- 1:29:43yeah, you know, I think create friendships and stuff.
- 1:29:46Dude, do you ever look at Jimmy sometimes when he's smiling
- 1:29:48like? He's a robot like you're.
- 1:29:49Maybe you are the Terminator? He's he's an.
- 1:29:51Impressive, dude. Yeah, I love how to dude he's.
- 1:29:54He's can accomplish some stuff. Done a lot and.
- 1:29:57Also like. I don't know that.
- 1:29:59I don't know why, but that's like your bracket.
- 1:30:01That was the BN era was like the R32 he had.
- 1:30:05He loved that car, Anthony and him.
- 1:30:07And. Andrew, another Texas guy with
- 1:30:11IS300. They drove up to final bout 2.
- 1:30:17So OK, that's Anthony. Yeah, he.
- 1:30:20He had a J. ZX90 and he's had a J ZX90 since
- 1:30:23I think 2012. So he's like, he had him before
- 1:30:27everybody had him, you know? Yeah, wait a minute.
- 1:30:31Yeah, 2012. Think about that for a second.
- 1:30:33Yeah. Sorry, yeah, I think that line,
- 1:30:35I was like, wow, yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:30:37It's weird when you have to bring up a time frame from that
- 1:30:39far. Away because I feel like it's
- 1:30:412018. I'm like, oh, that was like 5
- 1:30:42years. No, that was yeah, it's a while
- 1:30:45ago, but 14. Years ago, Jimmy.
- 1:30:47And Andrew drove He. Drove his BNR 32, Yeah.
- 1:30:52What color was it? That red I think.
- 1:30:54Black it was. Oh, yeah.
- 1:30:55OK, I remember. Yeah. 2.
- 1:30:57Like Wisconsin? Yeah.
- 1:31:00For me, I remember that. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:02What kind of drive is that? That's that's over 20.
- 1:31:05It's got to be like we're far. It's got to be well.
- 1:31:07Because when I drove. Up from.
- 1:31:09Tyler, it was 19. OK, Yeah.
- 1:31:12So it's got to be. 20 that's. Why he has no hair now 1000%?
- 1:31:18That was one of the jokes I was going to make when I was when.
- 1:31:20We see them I'm. Like, So what did you do that
- 1:31:22made your hair go away? Yeah, Yeah, yeah, That's great.
- 1:31:24Yeah. So and that.
- 1:31:25Was like, like I said, final about two.
- 1:31:27So that's quite a while ago now. Yeah.
- 1:31:30So yeah. So was everyone just like like I
- 1:31:33don't get how. I don't get how areas just all
- 1:31:36of a sudden have all these sick cars.
- 1:31:40It must be like some events like Knuckle Up I think like.
- 1:31:43People meeting other people who are interested in that and them
- 1:31:49doing things to their cars and getting inspired by each other.
- 1:31:51I think that has a lot to do with it 'cause you know, it's
- 1:31:54the like, that's where people congregate.
- 1:31:56Like I'm sure a lot of like the events in y'all's area, like
- 1:31:59people are building like similar style cars and stuff like that.
- 1:32:03Yeah. Missile cars.
- 1:32:04Well, yeah, it it. Starts.
- 1:32:06In. Like.
- 1:32:07As one, one person starts one thing and they find out it works
- 1:32:12and then they all gravitate to the one thing.
- 1:32:15Versus here, I feel like even earlier when we were talking
- 1:32:18with some of the other Oblivion guys, the the car meet that we
- 1:32:21were talking about, I forgot what it was of something by a
- 1:32:24pizza place. It's a low rider meet, kind of
- 1:32:27low rider swingers, like a bunch of different builds, like really
- 1:32:31different. But you can rock up in like this
- 1:32:34like a like a drift car or something low and just cause
- 1:32:39it's different, it's kind of the same.
- 1:32:41It's still the same mentality. A lot of work went into that,
- 1:32:44just like a lot of work went into that.
- 1:32:46And different taste, Yeah, but still the same mold, you know
- 1:32:50what I mean? Well, I mean, there's other.
- 1:32:52The cloth is the same. There's other.
- 1:32:53Like, you know, types of drifting here in Texas, you
- 1:32:58know, there's a lot of like the pro am drifting people are into
- 1:33:01that and stuff and you know, but I I I really like what's going
- 1:33:06on in Houston. I have for a long time.
- 1:33:08I think there's a lot of a lot of great cars here.
- 1:33:10I think they all look really cool and people driving pretty
- 1:33:14well and stuff. Yeah, dude, the Houston the
- 1:33:16knuckle of shit was sick. Dude, when the shit, when that
- 1:33:19started happening, I was like, wait, what's going on in Texas,
- 1:33:21man? All these cars are fucking
- 1:33:23coming out of nowhere, but you went to sleep.
- 1:33:25Well, yeah, yeah. But I was.
- 1:33:27Talking to Anthony about that on the way.
- 1:33:28How long? Has.
- 1:33:29It been you've been my car. Yeah, working on your car now 2.
- 1:33:332. 1000, The end of 2000. 19 is when.
- 1:33:36The motor blew up. So that's kind of when it was
- 1:33:38really like 2020 is when I just kind of gave up.
- 1:33:41Gave up. Yeah, well, actually the engine.
- 1:33:45Was. We the engine was.
- 1:33:47Done by like 2021. OK, maybe.
- 1:33:51So the engine is like done, it's just the car.
- 1:33:53And then so you're working on Yeah, I just snowballed.
- 1:33:56Like I was like, oh, I'll just. Do this while it's out.
- 1:33:58And then I was like, oh, I might as well paint the whole interior
- 1:34:00too, while I'm painting the engine Bay because that makes
- 1:34:02sense. Logan I came to the shop one
- 1:34:04week. And there was a fucking
- 1:34:06rotisserie outside that's really cool.
- 1:34:08I was like. What is this?
- 1:34:1140SX. Is it?
- 1:34:12OK. To keep one of those on a road,
- 1:34:15we're gonna find him right here 'cause when I Jack.
- 1:34:17The front of my car up. Yeah, I.
- 1:34:19Know just it's. Like, yeah, you know, so it's
- 1:34:21like, so. We put it.
- 1:34:22OK, to are you gonna have like a U-shaped?
- 1:34:24I might 2:40 So we put a. Being there for so long.
- 1:34:29It's not even ours. Mine's not even mounted right
- 1:34:32either. Like it's uneven.
- 1:34:33So like, you can't flip it easily.
- 1:34:35Like, you know, when you see a car on a rotisserie, you can
- 1:34:37just like, fucking flip it with one hand somehow.
- 1:34:40Yeah. Ours is like, like chaos.
- 1:34:42If you do, they're like uneven. So when you go to rotate it,
- 1:34:44it's kind of fighting itself a little bit.
- 1:34:46So you kind of got to swing on it.
- 1:34:47What, what makes you want to put it up?
- 1:34:49You are you doing are. You literally under.
- 1:34:51I literally got the rotisserie for a deal and I didn't think
- 1:34:54they were. Going to ship it to me.
- 1:34:55That's the that that, that, That is the part I was waiting.
- 1:34:57T mood or rotisserie? No, no.
- 1:35:00Eastwood had a sale. And this motherfucker couldn't
- 1:35:02help. I'll tell you exactly what it
- 1:35:04was I I got an Eastwood. Wholesale account and I was
- 1:35:07like, oh, cool. And then I was like like on
- 1:35:10there and I type, I was like rotisserie.
- 1:35:12I was like, they're going to ship this shit for free.
- 1:35:14I was like no way. And so they gave me a discount
- 1:35:17and it said free shipping or something.
- 1:35:18And I was like, that ain't going to work by now.
- 1:35:20And then like in two days she shows up and I'm like, fuck, I
- 1:35:24really got for a deal. No sales tax, nothing.
- 1:35:26I remember, I don't remember the price, but it's really fairly
- 1:35:29priced. And I was like, I don't know, I
- 1:35:31could probably see myself using that one day.
- 1:35:32And then it showed up and I was like, all right, well, I mean,
- 1:35:36it's here. And then I why did we do that?
- 1:35:38I guess, Oh, just because it was annoying just to fucking go
- 1:35:41underneath, have it on Jack stands.
- 1:35:42And because I couldn't, I couldn't put it on a lift.
- 1:35:44So let's put it on a rotisserie bro.
- 1:35:46Like what? I can't say.
- 1:35:48Are you lifts at the shop? Are you doing like?
- 1:35:50Are you like spraying the? Underside of it, like with like
- 1:35:54yeah, coating or something. I'm probably doing Raptor liner.
- 1:35:58OK, so this stuff's tenable. That's really cool.
- 1:36:01Yeah, I. Know.
- 1:36:02I have a plan for the inside. I don't know if I'm gonna do it
- 1:36:04or not cuz I Are you gonna do on the inside?
- 1:36:08I wanted to. Do pretty much like yours is on
- 1:36:10the inside that. Was the original plan, except
- 1:36:12now I'm like, I could Raptor line and tint the pan, you know
- 1:36:16what I mean? In the back that way it's a
- 1:36:17little bit still usable. Yeah, but.
- 1:36:19But I'm also like on the fence because I'd rather it be, you
- 1:36:22know, the old school way. But I'm like, I don't know that
- 1:36:26that I'm not locked down for yet.
- 1:36:29But yeah, I don't know, it's just a lot of, it's a lot of
- 1:36:31shit. I don't even enjoy working on
- 1:36:35it. I'm always doing shit for my
- 1:36:38business, so I'm not. My priorities are not on my car.
- 1:36:41And then it's just snowballed, snowballed, snowballed.
- 1:36:43And now, now you have a 350Z. Now I have a 350Z.
- 1:36:46Before you know it, you got AV two.
- 1:36:48Damn. We really care that was.
- 1:36:50Perfect. God damn.
- 1:36:53And and you know what's crazy? I saw him fitting an Origin kit
- 1:36:55the other day and I was like, he's going to hate it, he's
- 1:36:58going to hate it and guess what, not going.
- 1:37:00To want to do it it. Didn't fit right.
- 1:37:02He had to call David Bob, allegedly.
- 1:37:04He got it, He got it good. Yeah, it's almost like David
- 1:37:07Bob. Has done that a lot.
- 1:37:08It's almost like he made his own body.
- 1:37:12David Bob does a. Futago.
- 1:37:13Line for the. ZN 6, it's like a it was before
- 1:37:17the body kits came out for that car.
- 1:37:19Yeah, yeah, He was like the first one, honestly.
- 1:37:23That's such an awesome. Story because he made that's one
- 1:37:26of those things where you saw it happening and you're like, did
- 1:37:29he just make a body kit and then it started being produced and
- 1:37:32you saw your buddy really. Yeah, get in there and you're
- 1:37:36like, holy. Crap, now you have friends who
- 1:37:37are. Running his body kit and it's
- 1:37:39just like another cool little little segue, like how do you
- 1:37:43feel about those cars? ZN 6.
- 1:37:46I feel like I'm going to be working on a lot.
- 1:37:47Of them, hopefully. Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 1:37:49Because I mean. You know I'm trying to.
- 1:37:52Start up the body, work on the side and.
- 1:37:55Stuff like that start. Doing other people's cars now.
- 1:37:57Mine's kind of wrapped up, but that's been a lot of the.
- 1:38:02A lot of the people who've been. Interested in having work done,
- 1:38:04have those cars, you know, so I've, you know, they're not like
- 1:38:11I would. I don't want, I don't want, I
- 1:38:14don't want one. But.
- 1:38:16I think they're like one of the better options for like a newer
- 1:38:20car, yeah, in terms of styling. I also I think they look.
- 1:38:24All right, yes, but this is maybe a weird reason to like
- 1:38:27them. But when you do work on them for
- 1:38:28paint, I can bust one down pretty fast.
- 1:38:31Yeah, they're very nice to work on.
- 1:38:33They're really easy to work on. Take the bumper off, fenders
- 1:38:36off, headlights off, the tail lights come out, the door
- 1:38:39handles come out, the mirrors come out real nice.
- 1:38:42Now you have the whole door. Nice, simple car.
- 1:38:45Very simple car. And it's.
- 1:38:46Weird to think that that's a brand.
- 1:38:47New car, 'cause when I'm working on it, you go to take off S13
- 1:38:51door card, right? You do the little screw by the
- 1:38:54inside of the door handle. There's like the one for the
- 1:38:56actual door handle, the fucking handle for the window.
- 1:38:59And then the underneath pops out and you slide it up like I'm
- 1:39:03forgetting some things, like the other screw inside of the door,
- 1:39:05like closer to the dash. But that's literally all it
- 1:39:08took. I was ready to 'cause that was
- 1:39:11the newest car I've ever had to take it apart.
- 1:39:13I have to take apart. And I was like, God, this is
- 1:39:15going to be horrible. Wait a minute.
- 1:39:17It was pretty easy, Yeah, great car for that, even working on.
- 1:39:20The ZA Little. Bit with the outside I'm.
- 1:39:22Like I, I kind of fucking hate it 'cause it's like all the
- 1:39:25plastic clips like and all that and then ZN six kind of same
- 1:39:28with the bump bumpers and stuff, right?
- 1:39:30With like no dude, I can get that OEM bumper off.
- 1:39:33And like but like the way they mount like they weird.
- 1:39:37Oh, those weird things that connect to the.
- 1:39:38Fenders if you. Had a yellow snap on body clip.
- 1:39:41Popper, you'd be mint. Yeah, honestly, Frankie gave me
- 1:39:44one for Christmas 'cause my. Car's yellow.
- 1:39:46Oh, OK. It literally looks like a.
- 1:39:48Switchblade, dude, I'm talking. About like the bumper retainers?
- 1:39:50Yeah, they like. The tabs on the bumper like snap
- 1:39:53inside. Oh yeah, that one.
- 1:39:54Yeah, like that sucks and. What else?
- 1:39:58I mean stuff on the Z whereas like these cars are like bolted,
- 1:40:01yeah. Yeah, it's just like, so dude,
- 1:40:03there's a weird touch with it. I know you know.
- 1:40:05What I'm talking about to pop them off.
- 1:40:07Oh yeah, it's a 1 Swift. Yeah, you have.
- 1:40:09To have some. Confidence.
- 1:40:11Yeah, yeah. Dude, it's it's you have to
- 1:40:13pull. On it, yeah.
- 1:40:15Because the idea is you want to break that.
- 1:40:17Retainer and not tear the bumper or the tabs.
- 1:40:20Yeah, so you spray some like glass cleaner in there and help
- 1:40:24Lube it up a little bit. Yeah, I just don't like the clip
- 1:40:27thing bro. Yeah.
- 1:40:29Like even the bat dude, the battery.
- 1:40:31Tray area. It's like, oh, you just got to
- 1:40:33take off these 10 clips and then take off the other 12 and then
- 1:40:37you can get the battery out. And it's like, bro, how about we
- 1:40:39just put the battery somewhere where I can get it out?
- 1:40:42Like what? It's just little.
- 1:40:44Things like that where I'm like. These old cars are so nice to
- 1:40:47work on. Yeah, they are different for
- 1:40:48sure. Yeah, I mean I.
- 1:40:50Pretty much only work on modern vehicles day-to-day.
- 1:40:53You know, working in a collision repair, I mean when you I guess
- 1:40:57when you're like doing OEM replacement.
- 1:40:59Stuff the newer cars are fine because yeah well, and if you
- 1:41:03break that stuff, insurance company.
- 1:41:05Pays for it, Yeah. And it's like you are one of
- 1:41:08the. Smartest people too.
- 1:41:10You know, you get to practice. No, I mean, that's the thing.
- 1:41:12It's I got to go practice. What I wanted to do for the cars
- 1:41:15I like on cars that I didn't really like.
- 1:41:22On someone elses. Time, but you had to do it
- 1:41:25because, you know, learning. Like body work and.
- 1:41:27Learning paint, it's expensive to even learn how to do it.
- 1:41:31You make a mistake and you're paying for Yeah.
- 1:41:33And material and if you're paying a car.
- 1:41:36For your buddy or something like that, you kind of feel bad
- 1:41:38having to asking to buy more stuff or even, you know, pay you
- 1:41:43more or something like that. So if you're learning that in a
- 1:41:46environment where, you know, an insurance company who likes
- 1:41:49those, you know, is paying for it, Yeah, it's like it, it, it,
- 1:41:53it takes away some of that, you know, hindrance, I guess.
- 1:41:58Yeah. So and you said you're starting?
- 1:42:01Side. Work Body Shop Ideal or body?
- 1:42:04What was it? Body service ideal, Yeah.
- 1:42:07That's I like the name. Thanks.
- 1:42:09Yeah, we. Just me and.
- 1:42:12One of my my partner from D Roam, his name is Garrett.
- 1:42:16He he works for the same company.
- 1:42:17I do 9 to 5 doing body work. He's going to be working on cars
- 1:42:20with me. He's pretty good too.
- 1:42:23That's huge, just having another person that you can trust their
- 1:42:27quality of. Work as well.
- 1:42:28Oh my God, yeah, he's he's good. And we rented a.
- 1:42:32Or we're releasing a like a 3000 square foot shop now.
- 1:42:36We're going, yeah, we're going to eventually build a booth in
- 1:42:38there. But we want to work on, we want
- 1:42:40to work on D cars, you know? Yeah.
- 1:42:43And. Do paint jobs and, you know, do
- 1:42:47stuff like I want to do what you do, you know, that's what I'm
- 1:42:50trying to get to dude on the side, you know, I mean, I do.
- 1:42:53A dirty Dick. You're you're in the.
- 1:42:54Once you have the space, that's. Like, the biggest hurdle for us,
- 1:42:57there's not really room. Yeah.
- 1:42:59And then they come here. Dude, I know you've been passing
- 1:43:02garages and shit. Like no.
- 1:43:03No, no, it's not garages. Go, go next time.
- 1:43:06Next time we're we're driving somewhere.
- 1:43:08Go count the amount of collusion shops you pass.
- 1:43:10Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, at least in this area.
- 1:43:12I don't even why, why is this many year there's a lot of cars,
- 1:43:16people are not walking places and drive a lot people.
- 1:43:18Are wrecking their cars. You see the traffic?
- 1:43:20People mess up their cars here, man.
- 1:43:22Dude, Yeah, wow. Because there's a collision
- 1:43:24shop. Everywhere and then back home,
- 1:43:26it's like you've got to dig to find them.
- 1:43:30Yeah, yeah, New Jersey's a like that's.
- 1:43:33A dying trade and I'm really oh it.
- 1:43:35Is I'm I'm so. So so.
- 1:43:38Grateful for the people who have managed to give me a customer
- 1:43:41base and give me your, those people are essentially like
- 1:43:45making me live or, or letting me live well.
- 1:43:47And there's a, you know, going to a body.
- 1:43:50Shop or something like that. There's a lot of there.
- 1:43:52It's difficult still, like when you have a drift car.
- 1:43:56And like, let's say you. Want to have this weird nerdy
- 1:43:59stuff done to your quarter panel?
- 1:44:01How do you explain that to some kind of you know, I know coal is
- 1:44:04having. Issues with that?
- 1:44:06Too trying to find it. And then, you know, there's also
- 1:44:08like the the quality thing, you know, like, yeah, I want this to
- 1:44:11look like nice. But you know, it's also it's a
- 1:44:13drift car. So, you know, you all know that
- 1:44:15drift cars like the the paint and body is a is a consumable
- 1:44:19item. So, so the, the, the time and
- 1:44:24effort and money put into that, you know, like it's hard to
- 1:44:28explain that to someone who's just working in a Body Shop.
- 1:44:31And the second you say, oh, it's a drift car, it's going to get
- 1:44:33beat up. Those are your famous last
- 1:44:35words. They'll typically which I think,
- 1:44:37I think. Cole was getting some pretty
- 1:44:38ridiculous like quotes. Yeah, it's hard to find.
- 1:44:42Yeah, they want them out the door.
- 1:44:44And I'm going to get it. If you're fixing a, if you're
- 1:44:47fixing a, a bumper for a insurance company and you're
- 1:44:50making, you know, 3434 grand off, replacing that bumper on
- 1:44:55that customer's car, why would you want to bring a car in that
- 1:44:59you got to take everything off. It's going to take up a bunch of
- 1:45:01space and not to mention the customer might be very.
- 1:45:04Anal about it. You got to deal with that too,
- 1:45:06Yeah. It's not a money maker.
- 1:45:08So having a place. Like that is it's hard.
- 1:45:12It's hard to you know, D specific.
- 1:45:14I guess body shops are are, it's a there's a good vein for that.
- 1:45:20I think the guy that Cole went to is.
- 1:45:23Another good friend of ours, but it's the Jake and Dylan.
- 1:45:25They own their family owns a Mako and a fun thing that I
- 1:45:31didn't know about Mako is that they're all family owned.
- 1:45:33So you could go to 1 Mako and it's not the same level of
- 1:45:35quality as you go to another Mako.
- 1:45:36Makos are always the place to go.
- 1:45:38I feel like as long as you. Know the people like and I know
- 1:45:42and you got to be, you know. Yeah, like.
- 1:45:45You got to be, you got to, if you're, you're paying less for
- 1:45:47something, you got to, you know, as long as they're transparent
- 1:45:49about like why you're paying less, you know, you got to be
- 1:45:52happy with that kind of stuff. We're not taking this off.
- 1:45:54We're going to tape this, you know, but I'm really glad that.
- 1:45:58Jake did that because I I know it looks fantastic.
- 1:46:01This car looks great even if. It's a.
- 1:46:03Mako, which I'm not even going to really.
- 1:46:06Yeah, I don't think it. I'm not even going to really
- 1:46:08group it at this point because. I know.
- 1:46:10The level of work that Jake likes to do, or Dylan, I don't
- 1:46:13know who painted it, which one of them, but I know the level.
- 1:46:16And there's not a doubt in my mind that that car was going to
- 1:46:19turn out great. The color match looks great and,
- 1:46:21like, it looks awesome. Like it came out awesome.
- 1:46:23It looks like a fucking fake car.
- 1:46:26Yeah, it does. It's like a toy.
- 1:46:27Yeah, it looks good. So I was like.
- 1:46:28God damn kind of looks like this.
- 1:46:30One honestly. Those two cars together would be
- 1:46:33fucking. Sick it'd be.
- 1:46:34Awesome. Oh my gosh, that's cool I think.
- 1:46:36Didn't Cole post a? Picture and was like.
- 1:46:38Me. And what it might have been this
- 1:46:41and another green car or something like that.
- 1:46:42He was like maybe us in the future or something.
- 1:46:44Wasn't that like a doppelgang or two of his car or some shit that
- 1:46:46we saw. I.
- 1:46:47Think it was in the chat. What of Cole's car?
- 1:46:50There was like another one. That looked.
- 1:46:51Exactly. The same and it was just done or
- 1:46:53something they were saying like what did they say?
- 1:46:54Like the the Cole. Man in 180.
- 1:46:58Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Because like, it's weird that
- 1:47:00they gave it a it's. Like, yo, this looks like the
- 1:47:04Cole man in 180. Yeah.
- 1:47:07Like what? So are you, you're going to plan
- 1:47:09on doing this part time or you you're trying to do this full
- 1:47:12time? Well, what we really want to do
- 1:47:14like I needed. A space for my car, my friend
- 1:47:17needed a space for his car. My other friend needed a space
- 1:47:19for his car. So we wanted a space for our
- 1:47:21cars. But we want to do, I mean, at
- 1:47:24least enough work to like cover the rent there.
- 1:47:26That's what we're shooting for. But also, you know, I, I do want
- 1:47:32to, like, work on cars like this, you know?
- 1:47:37Yeah, Yeah. So when, you know, wherever that
- 1:47:39went would be fine. But I do have a limited amount
- 1:47:42of, like, you know, free time with my 9:00 to 5:00.
- 1:47:44And then, you know, being with my family is really important.
- 1:47:47Yeah. I mean, we did the same shit
- 1:47:49with the shop, though. We had three.
- 1:47:50People splitting it and then it became what it is.
- 1:47:53You know what I mean? So yeah, my house, the garage is
- 1:47:56really small. It's about half of this, I'd
- 1:48:00say, probably a little shorter too.
- 1:48:01So it's not really somewhere to work on a car.
- 1:48:03So I need somewhere to like store my car.
- 1:48:05And then my friend Garrett, who's my partner in the, he
- 1:48:10also, he doesn't have a garage and he's about to finish
- 1:48:14painting his car another 180. And so he's going to need
- 1:48:20somewhere to put it. So it and we both have been
- 1:48:22talking about doing body work. So it kind of all was like, OK,
- 1:48:25let's do this now. And then found a space.
- 1:48:27And and then also Anthony needs a he has he has a JZX.
- 1:48:34Yeah, yeah, he has like a lot of them.
- 1:48:36I don't really. Know.
- 1:48:38He's got a lot of. I got to ask thinking about
- 1:48:40changing or. Something I don't know, he's.
- 1:48:43Yeah, but he's got, you know, JZX, so he's gonna have a he's
- 1:48:47been working outside on those things, you know, since I met
- 1:48:50him. So he's gonna have a space to
- 1:48:52work inside on stuff. Now.
- 1:48:53This is gonna work. Yeah, I hope so.
- 1:48:55This is gonna work. Yeah, I hope so.
- 1:48:56It's gonna. Be awesome.
- 1:48:57We were gonna paint the. Floors Green I.
- 1:48:59Was just gonna. Bring this stuff, but we to make
- 1:49:02it look like the garage just in Japan.
- 1:49:04Yeah, but. We got to bring some customers.
- 1:49:06In So we're going to have to wait until we're we're going to
- 1:49:08hope we're hoping we can like move everything out and do that
- 1:49:11when we put the booth in. But yeah, it's such a fucking
- 1:49:14hassle, people. You're going to take photos of
- 1:49:16this car in that. Shop and people are going to no
- 1:49:19idea where that is right there yeah it's going to be like what
- 1:49:22is it the. Invisible Boatmobile from
- 1:49:25SpongeBob. I'm going to lose it or I'm
- 1:49:27going to get in it and just disappear.
- 1:49:29Yeah, dude. Is there anything else that you?
- 1:49:33Wanted to share. Put out there in the world.
- 1:49:35Before I'm I'm going to say we yeah, hang out.
- 1:49:38We got. Some more, we got some shit.
- 1:49:40To film, anyway. Yeah.
- 1:49:41Yeah. Anything.
- 1:49:42Else you wanted to put out there.
- 1:49:43Yeah, body service. Ideal dude.
- 1:49:46Yeah, yeah. Let me.
- 1:49:48Look out for that if. There's one thing that anybody's
- 1:49:50listening to this and. You're pretty much ready to take
- 1:49:52work on like. ASAP or your Yeah I'm open to
- 1:49:56scheduling. Some stuff out.
- 1:49:57OK, definitely. I mean, like I said, there's two
- 1:49:59of us and we're, you know, well, we didn't, you know, bringing
- 1:50:03stuff in as soon as we were next week we're having people come in
- 1:50:05and we'll have the compressor there.
- 1:50:07And OK, right now when we don't have the booth, we'll probably
- 1:50:10be taking stuff up to the shops we work at and spraying them in
- 1:50:12the booths there if we need stuff.
- 1:50:14But we should be good for body work soon.
- 1:50:16So yeah, we're how would how would people reach out to you if
- 1:50:19they were? They can.
- 1:50:21They can. They can just talk to me on
- 1:50:24Instagram or we do have an Instagram for the shop.
- 1:50:30But yeah, either one of those, yeah, we'll put that in the in
- 1:50:33the details and everything. Like that Dude, that's a hard
- 1:50:35acronym too. I took it to.
- 1:50:37BSI like because, you know, yeah, you're very.
- 1:50:41Professional to the to the normals.
- 1:50:43You get an easy bumper job one day you can't be like, I don't
- 1:50:46want to fucking do that shit. Might keep the lights on.
- 1:50:50You know what? I.
- 1:50:51Mean, right, right, right. But dude.
- 1:50:52Thank you so much for spending some time.
- 1:50:53With us, of course, yeah. Thank you.
- 1:50:54I hope we get to spend a little bit more hang.
- 1:50:56Out with everybody. Else, which is great, but dude
- 1:50:59Logan, you're a fucking yeah nice meeting you, man dude Yeah,
- 1:51:02like it's been a. Pleasure.
- 1:51:03To talk. Yeah, I've been in a group chat
- 1:51:05for like 5 years so. I guess it's about time.
- 1:51:07Yeah, I didn't. I was like because.
- 1:51:11The name got tossed around and. I was like, wait, I think this
- 1:51:13guy. Follows me.
- 1:51:14I want to talk to him so that I followed you back.
- 1:51:16We start talking about IS300 pedals and then he goes.
- 1:51:20I think we're doing a podcast. Yeah.
- 1:51:21The first one's going to be Logan.
- 1:51:23Yeah. I was like, wait, dude, I was.
- 1:51:24Just talking to this guy so. Dude, thank you so much it's
- 1:51:27been a pleasure. This has been another episode of
- 1:51:30Faction After Hours. First one of the series from
- 1:51:32Texas. The Texas series.
- 1:51:35Yeah, I can't believe we're here.
- 1:51:36And I can't believe we got to do this.
- 1:51:38This is fucking awesome, thank you so much.
- 1:51:40See ya peace. That was fun.
- 1:51:53What happened to the camera there, Eddie?
- 1:51:55Oh. Yeah, it cut.
- 1:51:57Out around like 14 minutes. Well, yeah, we're going to have
- 1:52:00to fix that. I don't know.
- 1:52:01I don't know if we can. Fix that, because I'm beginning
- 1:52:03to think it might be these cameras.
- 1:52:05What do you think? I think.
- 1:52:08It's something to do with it. Recording so.
- 1:52:10Maybe, yeah. I don't know if we.
- 1:52:13Update our fucking recording. Situation maybe?
- 1:52:15Yeah, yeah, some, just some like backup.
- 1:52:18Yeah, we got some. We got some more stuff in the.
- 1:52:21Works. So hopefully our recording
- 1:52:23situation gets a little bit better for the next round of
- 1:52:26podcast. But what do you think about
- 1:52:28Logan? Really cool dude, real chill He.
- 1:52:31Is real chill, yeah, and very meticulous.
- 1:52:33What? Is, yeah, yeah.
- 1:52:35He's super meticulous and he's. He's kind of a talker.
- 1:52:37He made it seem like he wasn't going to have anything to say,
- 1:52:40but he carried the conversation on extremely well.
- 1:52:42So yeah, I don't, I couldn't say more good things about him.
- 1:52:46I I thought that whole thing was.
- 1:52:47And he drove 4 hours away. Yeah.
- 1:52:50Like they made it seem like it was nothing.
- 1:52:52Yeah. Which maybe it's not in Texas.
- 1:52:56Yeah, he's just bigger there. Everything is so.
- 1:52:58Far if you. Look, did you look?
- 1:53:00At the map when we were there, I looked at the map once.
- 1:53:02I was like, whoa, yeah. Like, first of all, I didn't
- 1:53:04know Houston was that close. To the fucking.
- 1:53:06Ocean. The Gulf of America, as it's
- 1:53:08called. I didn't know we were right.
- 1:53:11There but. Yeah, it's pretty.
- 1:53:12Cool. So make sure to check out Logan
- 1:53:16on Instagram. So what we got, we got.
- 1:53:18Three things here we got. Logan Davenport we got at D
- 1:53:22under score realm. That's his drift team.
- 1:53:24Awesome cars, beautiful cars. They don't do too much drifting,
- 1:53:28he said. But they I mean, he's about to
- 1:53:31because you can't build that whole car and not drift.
- 1:53:33So that's going to get crazy. And then at body service ideal,
- 1:53:39not too many subscribers, not too many followers on this
- 1:53:41Instagram yet. He literally just made it.
- 1:53:43But they've been in the works, the planning this shop reveal.
- 1:53:48So make sure to follow them. If you're in the Texas area,
- 1:53:51especially eastern northeastern Texas, you definitely want to
- 1:53:56write that down. Or, you know, remember body,
- 1:53:59body service ideal because I feel like that's going to be the
- 1:54:02place to bring your drift car, you know what I mean?
- 1:54:04I mean, from everything he said. So yeah.
- 1:54:09That's that. Guys, don't forget we're doing a
- 1:54:12raffle every month on our website.
- 1:54:15You can call it a raffle, you can call it a giveaway.
- 1:54:16I like to call it a giveaway, but I think technically it's a
- 1:54:18raffle. Sweepstakes.
- 1:54:20It is Sweepstakes. Yeah.
- 1:54:21It's. It's one or the other, but.
- 1:54:23We call it a raffle or a giveaway.
- 1:54:25So what we're doing this month is we are giving away a pair of
- 1:54:31front and rear bash bars from Limitless Auto Fab.
- 1:54:34Now the Limitless Auto Fab is basically the new they're,
- 1:54:38they're like leading the charge when it comes to bash bars for
- 1:54:40our cars right now. So check them out, check them
- 1:54:43out on our website. Every $5 spent gets you an
- 1:54:45entry. Factory Motorsports merch and
- 1:54:47products gets you double entries.
- 1:54:49So this will be going for the whole month of February.
- 1:54:52And yeah, also I should mention if people actually know their
- 1:54:57products, the dash bars will be powder coated as well.
- 1:55:00So you're getting like you're pretty much getting everything
- 1:55:03and if there's options on there, you're going to be given the
- 1:55:06option of you know what you want.
- 1:55:07So what are they? I know you're looking at some of
- 1:55:10them right now. They got like BMW bash bars,
- 1:55:12they got S chassis stuff, 350Z bash bars and a Miata and a
- 1:55:18Miata too. Yeah, so.
- 1:55:19They got some cars already. I was speaking to them recently.
- 1:55:23They are going to be releasing some new products soon.
- 1:55:25I don't think I can talk about any right now, but hopefully we
- 1:55:29get the OK to talk about them during this month.
- 1:55:31And yeah, all I can say is stay tuned to that.
- 1:55:37What else we got going on? We got some new parts in the
- 1:55:40shop and the. On the site, yeah, yeah, it's
- 1:55:43yeah, We got new parts on a. Site every week now.
- 1:55:46Ken's been adding a lot. And Malcolm.
- 1:55:48Yeah. A lot of GK Tech stuff, right?
- 1:55:50It looks like yeah, GK Tech just released a bunch of products.
- 1:55:53So we're trying to keep up to date on those.
- 1:55:55I believe there was a lot of IS300 stuff.
- 1:55:58So I, I didn't tell Carl yet, but I think he recently was just
- 1:56:02talking about how they didn't have too much for that car.
- 1:56:04So I think Ken told him. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:56:06So he's going to be happy. To hear that.
- 1:56:08But we also added limitless auto fat bash bars, the ones for the
- 1:56:12E36, we added those to the site as well.
- 1:56:15Cusco rear subframe brace for random Forester random.
- 1:56:21We're trying to add more Subaru parts, honestly.
- 1:56:23So if you guys have Subarus and you want us to add some stuff,
- 1:56:26shoot us an e-mail and we'll we'll try to get to that.
- 1:56:29And of course we got words and stuff here as well.
- 1:56:30We're placing the order for the container or it already was
- 1:56:33placed, but it's it's happening today or early next week that we
- 1:56:37get confirmation. So yeah, if you want to
- 1:56:39pre-order anything, now would be the time for origin as well.
- 1:56:42And if you can't afford your parts right now, a firm's got
- 1:56:44your back. Don't forget that during
- 1:56:46checkout, a firm will get you covered if you don't have the
- 1:56:50finances to afford what you need now.
- 1:56:54YouTube Eddie. I heard you got a YouTube going
- 1:56:56on. Yeah.
- 1:56:57We've been I've. Been slacking a little because
- 1:57:01last week or this week we're. Kind of.
- 1:57:03Hectic with the scheduling. Yeah, things are getting kind of
- 1:57:06crazy over. Here we're kind of.
- 1:57:08Turning, I don't know if you've noticed this.
- 1:57:09We're kind of turning into a production company and less of a
- 1:57:11shop and I don't know if that's good.
- 1:57:15Or bad I? Would rather do both but there's
- 1:57:18only so much time in the day. What kind of videos you got or
- 1:57:22what kind of? What's the last video you put
- 1:57:23up? Last few we did was the. 350Z
- 1:57:28OK, making some progress on that car.
- 1:57:31So I think we just on the end of that video, we just put the new
- 1:57:34RAD support or OK in the front. I heard you got a Part 2 of
- 1:57:37that. Video though, yes yeah, that
- 1:57:39video was a long video, I believe. 9 hours of footage.
- 1:57:44Yeah I had to cut. Down yeah, that was multiple
- 1:57:46days of editing so if you guys. Could go check out that video,
- 1:57:49That would be great. That was our last 350Z video,
- 1:57:52but we'll have more coming. We'll have a lot of videos from
- 1:57:55this trip coming as well, so make sure to check those out and
- 1:57:58snap, we have some snap on videos coming out of.
- 1:58:00Course, there's one dropping tonight.
- 1:58:01Yeah, so. Snap on.
- 1:58:03Videos try to get. Those out almost every other
- 1:58:05week. If you guys are into tools,
- 1:58:08anything like that. If you guys are mechanics
- 1:58:09yourself, make sure to check out our YouTube.
- 1:58:11We're always on the Snap on truck filming.
- 1:58:15Yeah. And last but not least, as far
- 1:58:18as our stuff goes, we have a Patreon.
- 1:58:20So if you guys are looking for a way to support us or this
- 1:58:23podcast so that we can keep travelling around the country
- 1:58:25getting you new, new episodes. So what if we go internationally
- 1:58:28one day? That's in saying Tokyo or Japan.
- 1:58:32Japan, we're going to have to get someone to translate.
- 1:58:34Oh God, you know it's possible though when you think about it.
- 1:58:38Like someone to translate. We have Yousef.
- 1:58:40You can. You know what?
- 1:58:42I mean like it is possible so. But yeah, if you guys want to
- 1:58:45see us go internationally, that's only going to happen with
- 1:58:48your support. So check out our Patreon.
- 1:58:49We got 3 tiers there, $5.10 dollar, $15 tier.
- 1:58:54The honestly the $5 tier gets you pretty much everything.
- 1:58:57So yeah, it's really only $5. It's the $15 tier will get you
- 1:59:02merch bundles when we release merch.
- 1:59:04So that's the benefit there. The $10 tier, do you know what
- 1:59:08that does it add anything yet? Yeah, you get the basically the
- 1:59:11YouTube videos. Ad free and uncensored.
- 1:59:14OK, so the $10 the middle tier gets you YouTube.
- 1:59:17Content uncensored with no ads uncensored is worth it,
- 1:59:20honestly. Yeah.
- 1:59:22Yeah, that. That's going to be unhinged.
- 1:59:25So yeah, if you want to check out our YouTube content, but you
- 1:59:27don't want to hear all the censors and the ads and all that
- 1:59:29bullshit, you're definitely going to want to check out our
- 1:59:32Patreon. And yeah, that's pretty much it,
- 1:59:36guys. We have a bunch of sponsors
- 1:59:38helping us out with this podcast, so we just want to talk
- 1:59:40about them real quick, real quick.
- 1:59:42But East Coast Drift School Man is our longest sponsor and the
- 1:59:47one that we probably benefit the most because of driving.
- 1:59:51Yeah, yeah. So.
- 1:59:54East Coast Drift School Raceway. Park Chris Knapp is the guy
- 1:59:57you're going to want to talk to. You can find him on Instagram at
- 2:00:00East Coast Drift School. But all your drifting needs
- 2:00:04pretty much if you need seat time, if you're, if you're a pro
- 2:00:06am guy, if you're just getting into drifting, if you're, you
- 2:00:08know what I mean, if you're any anything, anything to do with
- 2:00:11drifting, hit him up. He'll get you in there.
- 2:00:14He'll get you the seat time you need.
- 2:00:15He'll show you the ropes. And he'll make it very, very
- 2:00:18easy. And not to mention it's pretty
- 2:00:20fucking affordable considering, you know, the prices of
- 2:00:23everything these days. They could give you like
- 2:00:24different layouts of the track too, right?
- 2:00:27I don't know. I mean, you might it probably.
- 2:00:29Not your first time out. Let's put it out.
- 2:00:30Yeah, yeah, yeah. You ain't going out there for
- 2:00:32yay. Chris, we're going to we're.
- 2:00:34Going to do XDC layout on the road course, He's going to be
- 2:00:37like you're going into a parking lot and you're doing Donuts.
- 2:00:40Yeah. So probably not that, but yeah,
- 2:00:41if you're if you're a pro am guy and you're trying to like, you
- 2:00:44know, get some serious practice time in and you're not too far
- 2:00:47from Raceway Park, he's the guy to talk to.
- 2:00:49He'll he'll probably make something happen for you.
- 2:00:51So yeah, make sure to check them out and chase bays.
- 2:00:58Chase bays for. All your high end motorsport
- 2:01:00products, these products are designed to increase.
- 2:01:03Performance and. Aesthetic while saving weight
- 2:01:06and space. Damn, that's a good you write
- 2:01:08that yourself, Malcolm. Did Yeah, of course.
- 2:01:12Chase Bays one of the best, best fluid transfer production
- 2:01:18companies I know of. No, but Chase Base makes a lot
- 2:01:22of products for our cars. And when I say our cars, I mean
- 2:01:25Nissan's, BMWs, Toyotas, stuff like that.
- 2:01:28Anything you use for drifting. Chase Base has really got you
- 2:01:30covered there. But yeah, check out their
- 2:01:32website. You can find their products
- 2:01:35directly on their. Website they're not.
- 2:01:37Doing business to business right now.
- 2:01:38So anything you need is going to be on there.
- 2:01:41And I've seen a lot of cool stuff lately, man.
- 2:01:44Chase Base is always innovating and coming up with new stuff
- 2:01:47that kind of, I don't want to say it, but it's kind of
- 2:01:50grassroots. It's kind of aimed at the
- 2:01:53grassroots a little bit. I feel like Roots oriented,
- 2:01:55yeah. They make a lot of stuff that
- 2:01:56like we could benefit from not being pro guys and it's all
- 2:02:02fairly priced, so. But they always have some more
- 2:02:06serious shit too, like their brake booster delete kit, stuff
- 2:02:10like that. Like that's more track stuff.
- 2:02:12So they cover both ends of the spectrum.
- 2:02:15I just know Chases, you know, he's a grassroots drifter
- 2:02:17himself, so, you know, it makes sense.
- 2:02:21Another one of our sponsors is Ramstead MFG.
- 2:02:23They make the the wheel fitment tool that we've been using in
- 2:02:26the shop. I'm actually going to be using
- 2:02:27it for the Z soon to see what we can fit on there.
- 2:02:30But yeah, we sell those, one of our top selling products right
- 2:02:33now, honestly on the website. So if you need one of those, you
- 2:02:34want to check it out, make sure to grab one off our website
- 2:02:37before you order wheels because you know, the last thing you
- 2:02:40want to do is order wheels that don't fit.
- 2:02:42So check that. Check that product out at
- 2:02:44factionmotorsports.com Limitless.
- 2:02:48Auto fab of. Course is a sponsor of this of
- 2:02:51this podcast, so we've already been talking about them the this
- 2:02:54whole episode, but they also other than bash bars, they do
- 2:02:57make other products. So check out Fashion
- 2:02:59motorsports.com to get a look at what they offer.
- 2:03:02AG1 is another one of our sponsors.
- 2:03:04And honestly, I know I said East Coast Drift School was one of
- 2:03:07the ones that really matters to like us as far as driving, but
- 2:03:10AG one is the one that's keeping us alive.
- 2:03:13So check out AG1 if you want to get your health in order.
- 2:03:16One scoop a day in eight to 10 ounces of water in the morning
- 2:03:20is all you need to make sure you got all your multivitamins, your
- 2:03:24probiotics, prebiotics, all that stuff is good to go and you're
- 2:03:27covered. You, you took that too, right?
- 2:03:30And you tried it out? I tried like a couple days.
- 2:03:32Yeah, we're. Yeah.
- 2:03:34So we got to. We got to.
- 2:03:35Get you hooked up on that, you know, and then we got to we got
- 2:03:37to get Carl back on AG one because he ever since he's been
- 2:03:40off that shit, he's been a little when he was on it, it was
- 2:03:44a. Little bit better when he's off
- 2:03:46I. Don't know, I don't know if I
- 2:03:47like him when he's off AG 1. So but yeah, check out AG1 if
- 2:03:50you want to get your your health in order.
- 2:03:52That's the first step to take honestly, and it's the easiest.
- 2:03:55So check out AG one. And last but not least, Wrecked
- 2:03:58Magazine, guys, Wrecked Magazine is a magazine focused completely
- 2:04:04on drifting. All right, so they've been
- 2:04:07Wrecked Magazine as a company has been around since I started
- 2:04:10drifting, possibly before that, I believe, so around 2010,
- 2:04:13somewhere like that. And they've been covering
- 2:04:16drifting and everything about it since then.
- 2:04:20Shops pro am drivers, pro drivers grass roots events, you
- 2:04:25know, I've even seen them do stuff like TMZ drops.
- 2:04:29All right, they'll be it'll be like, oh, did you hear about
- 2:04:33like, you know, so and so and so check them out on Facebook and
- 2:04:37all that. Of course, Instagram as well.
- 2:04:39But most importantly, go to their website,
- 2:04:41wreckmagazine.com. That's where you can subscribe
- 2:04:43to this magazine. We actually have the second
- 2:04:45issue in the shop and it is a not only is it a great magazine,
- 2:04:51but the cover is beautiful. It's it it, it looks the part.
- 2:04:56Let's just say that I always view Wrecked magazine as like
- 2:05:00the thrasher of drifting. So that's good.
- 2:05:03Yeah. It gives me the same vibes, you
- 2:05:06know, So check them out. I'm really, really stoked to be
- 2:05:10representing that company. I have high hopes for them.
- 2:05:13I hope they can bring back physical media at least in our
- 2:05:18scene. It might not be happening
- 2:05:19worldwide right now in 2026, but you know, in our scene, I think
- 2:05:23we can bring it back since we all we all miss JDM tuner
- 2:05:27magazines. So this is this is the best that
- 2:05:30we can get right now and it and it's very informative a lot of
- 2:05:33the stuff in there. So check it out, Wreck
- 2:05:35magazine.com and. Yeah, Eddie, we got more we.
- 2:05:40Got more Texas episodes coming so can't wait.
- 2:05:42Yeah, if we got. A lot and if you.
- 2:05:46If you don't feel like waiting, make sure to check out our
- 2:05:48Patreon. We also have all of the Texas
- 2:05:50episodes up there already. So yeah, we'll see you on the
- 2:05:54next one. See you.
