- 0:00Speaker 1: Jam packed with people. So, uh, Justin Kalin's with me,
- 0:05Speaker 1: and Justin, I know you're doing well. I think you are.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Are you doing well? I'm struggling a little bit right now.
- 0:12Speaker 2: I'm a little tired the morning. The grossness of the
- 0:16Speaker 2: morning's not really helping the situation. But luckily we've got
- 0:19Speaker 2: a lot of people walking by, so there's there's something
- 0:22Speaker 2: to keep our interest at all times.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Here we go with the with the just random people
- 0:27Speaker 1: walking by. Should I go around and just try? And
- 0:29Speaker 1: I was telling my roommate your comment earlier or comment?
- 0:33Speaker 1: What was my comment?
- 0:34Speaker 2: How you you said you felt like a caged animal
- 0:36Speaker 2: at the time.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I do feel like a cage Danimal. I mean people
- 0:39Speaker 1: walk by. Do you not like people walking by here
- 0:42Speaker 1: and just kind of staring at you? Like what I'm
- 0:44Speaker 1: doing right now? I love it. Hey, you got some
- 0:47Speaker 1: of the most famous people in racing right here. Todd
- 0:50Speaker 1: Pletcher is twenty feet away from me, and I'm just like,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I'm I'm in awe of that. I'm just gonna tell
- 0:55Speaker 1: you right now. But did he laugh that I said
- 0:58Speaker 1: that that we yeah, we are. I mean, might as
- 1:02Speaker 1: well put a fence up here and some barbed wires
- 1:05Speaker 1: so people know that.
- 1:07Speaker 2: If it results in us getting snacks thrown at us,
- 1:09Speaker 2: I'm good with that.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Or or we're prison, Mike, and then we're back here.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We should wear orange shuit suits so we look like
- 1:16Speaker 1: we're in prison.
- 1:17Speaker 2: No, I'd rather be a caged animal, I think.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Okay, well, I see, I'd like you would rather be
- 1:23Speaker 1: a caged animal. Okay, is this a role play thing
- 1:25Speaker 1: you're telling me? No, I don't want to hear. Oh, okay,
- 1:28Speaker 1: all right, then, well, I today was the most crowd
- 1:30Speaker 1: we've seen, isn't it.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but it's only Tuesday.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Well, yesterday you were right, yesterday was dead.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yesterday you said it's a weird vibe back here, and
- 1:40Speaker 1: you were right, it was a bit of a weird vibe.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And I thought, Okay, I hope that this week is
- 1:45Speaker 1: not this way now. The storms were crazy last night.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Of course, everything is just soaking wet back here, but
- 1:51Speaker 1: I had to go around different routes because there were
- 1:54Speaker 1: all kinds of trees down. I'm at dinner last night
- 1:57Speaker 1: with my son and the we are getting ready to leave,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and the power completely went out in the restaurant. In
- 2:06Speaker 1: the restaurant We're sitting in there, and the first thought
- 2:10Speaker 1: that came to my mind is dead gunned. I'm sorry
- 2:12Speaker 1: I paid early, I should have waited. Maybe I've gotten
- 2:15Speaker 1: a free meal. But that's you know, it's ridiculous that
- 2:18Speaker 1: that's the way my mind went. But those were those
- 2:21Speaker 1: were some crazy storms last night. It's almost like it
- 2:23Speaker 1: was a hurricane and the wind was so strong.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It was it was pretty nuts. I mean, I walked
- 2:27Speaker 2: out my door this morning and there's two We've got
- 2:30Speaker 2: this little not garden but plants next to our side door.
- 2:34Speaker 2: There was two like plastic bags in the foliage there.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I'm like, what in the world happened last night? It's crazy.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it probably said public's Tampa, Florida or something like that.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It flew up from Tampa. That's some of the crazy
- 2:47Speaker 1: stuff when they have the tornadoes. Did you know we
- 2:50Speaker 1: had tornado warnings last night? No, that's what I was told.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We had tornado warnings last night. That was true or not.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:56Speaker 2: The house could have been taken away and I would
- 2:58Speaker 2: have had no idea.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Well, I think some of the craziest stories is when
- 3:01Speaker 1: people talk about tornado, uh and they have property that
- 3:06Speaker 1: has flown like forty or fifty miles, sometimes even longer.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I just and then, and then I remember some friends
- 3:15Speaker 1: of ours when the tornadoes hit a long time ago.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It destroyed their entire house, but there would be china
- 3:22Speaker 1: in the china cabinet that had not been disturbed. Wild
- 3:26Speaker 1: how does that happen? I just I'm a tornado stories
- 3:32Speaker 1: or weather stories or anything related to that, because it
- 3:35Speaker 1: is just amazing to me, you know what.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'm fascinated by. And what actually kind of ticks me
- 3:39Speaker 2: off when we're out here on the backside. Why is
- 3:42Speaker 2: there so many kids? I mean, is that no school?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Is there no school today? Do we not have to
- 3:48Speaker 2: be in school? It is eight It's like, yeah, yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 2: go to school. But hey, why are you so mean?
- 3:55Speaker 2: I mean, I just it really bothers me. I need
- 3:58Speaker 2: to be in school there.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I used to cut school and come out here to
- 4:00Speaker 1: Churchill down.
- 4:01Speaker 2: So we're getting dumber and dumber as a population. And
- 4:05Speaker 2: then you got kids out here just blatantly skipping school.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, we're getting dumber and dumber. So I'm glad
- 4:12Speaker 1: the reference to a movie that I never liked is
- 4:14Speaker 1: right there.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Insane. That's a wild time you liked that movie Dumb
- 4:19Speaker 2: and Dumber's great.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, okay, all right then great, but let them
- 4:22Speaker 1: come out here and have fun. I don't have a
- 4:24Speaker 1: problem with that.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I guess I'll step off my high horse now and
- 4:28Speaker 2: not be such a promotion.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Okay, I just needed to get that out. Well, they're
- 4:31Speaker 1: probably getting ready to go to school. Well, keep in
- 4:33Speaker 1: mind they look like they went to Catholic school.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I think it's also just a tinge of jealousy that
- 4:37Speaker 2: I never got to do this as well.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Oh you didn't, Oh okay, all right then, yeah, we
- 4:41Speaker 1: brought our boys out. I came out here as a kid.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I loved it then, and then I I once I
- 4:47Speaker 1: started driving in high school, I started coming out here
- 4:50Speaker 1: during school just go on races. Remember the stories, Yeah exactly.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So that's that's one of my favorites right there, because
- 4:56Speaker 1: the teacher was so mad, and my dad was like,
- 4:58Speaker 1: I don't have a problem with it, which made her
- 5:00Speaker 1: even matter. But no, I think it's great that families
- 5:04Speaker 1: bring their kids out here to expect because that's what
- 5:06Speaker 1: we need. We need younger people to enjoy the sport
- 5:10Speaker 1: of horse race.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Well, and that's how you get psychos like you and
- 5:12Speaker 2: Nick Rouch. I mean, you just it's something you grow
- 5:15Speaker 2: up around. You're always gonna want to be around.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Psychos there go Steve Hargrave, but psychos like me, Michael Bennett.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I really appreciate that. Wow. Uh and the fact that
- 5:28Speaker 1: you included me in the same line as Nick Rouch.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Well you have a little more hair, a little more
- 5:35Speaker 2: Wait a minute, now he's full blown.
- 5:37Speaker 1: He's gone home. I mean he's yeah, I have a
- 5:41Speaker 1: full head of hair here, my friend. So, I don't know.
- 5:44Speaker 1: There's some kind of video he's releasing that time I'm
- 5:47Speaker 1: in it with him where he's interviewing me yesterday from yesterday.
- 5:51Speaker 1: He interviewed me yesterday because he butchered a story. And
- 5:54Speaker 1: now that video is being released today, is it gonna
- 5:58Speaker 1: be complimentary to Michael Bennett or is it going to
- 6:01Speaker 1: be you think so? Do you think Nick will take
- 6:04Speaker 1: care of And I think.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I'll be in it too because Peak Rouse joined my
- 6:08Speaker 2: show yesterday. Peek was here filming it all, So hopefully
- 6:11Speaker 2: I'm making.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Ah, you knew the guy that was doing the Yeah, Steven.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Peak, that's who's doing Kentucky roll call.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Oh okay, Now I'm really embarrassed. Okay, god, yeah, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: introduced myself. I didn't know who he was. You watched it,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I did, I mean he's like, well that Bennett's an idiot. Yeah, okay, man,
- 6:31Speaker 1: now I feel really bad. Okay, uh, TJ's probably listened. TJ.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Will you text him and tell him I'm sorry. I
- 6:37Speaker 1: did not realize that.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I mean I got his number two.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Okay, well, then you text him for me. So yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 1: TJ's going to come on with us this week? Is
- 6:44Speaker 1: Nick is going to come on with us this week?
- 6:46Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm looking forward to that. So we'll have
- 6:49Speaker 1: fun with it. But uh uh, anyway, but it's just
- 6:51Speaker 1: you and me today. You were by your well, no,
- 6:53Speaker 1: you weren't by yourself today. You had two people with
- 6:55Speaker 1: you today. You know.
- 6:56Speaker 2: That's the crazy thing about the backside is I fully
- 7:00Speaker 2: came in this morning thinking Nick Rouse was supposed to
- 7:03Speaker 2: be here. He texted me last night said hey, I'm
- 7:05Speaker 2: not gonna be able to join you. I got kid
- 7:07Speaker 2: duty tomorrow, which I was like, okay, that's fine. So
- 7:10Speaker 2: I came in this morning thinking, well, I'm gonna have
- 7:13Speaker 2: to do the whole show by myself. Not a big deal.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I do the whole show by myself every day, every
- 7:17Speaker 2: single day, right, But then you got people walk up,
- 7:20Speaker 2: like Louis Rabau. He wanted to talk some fixed odds wagering,
- 7:24Speaker 2: which we've got to get into.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Fascinating fixed odds.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, no, absolutely fascinating, so we'll have to get that.
- 7:33Speaker 2: So but Louis came up, he wanted to talk that.
- 7:35Speaker 2: And then who else did I have?
- 7:37Speaker 1: Had?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Somebody else?
- 7:38Speaker 1: Roman? That's right? Yeah, even I remember Roman.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I don't remember Roman. Okay, Roman's normally never there at
- 7:44Speaker 2: eight in the morning.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, is he okay? He is? Is he? Is he
- 7:47Speaker 1: going to wake up and say hello to us? And
- 7:49Speaker 1: like Matthew did for Roman, good morning, how are you
- 7:52Speaker 1: doing this morning? I'm doing great.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Michael appreciates you asking.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I hope you're doing well out there. I'm doing fantastic.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I kind of wish you were with us. You know,
- 8:01Speaker 1: I should be out there.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I think that I could get the vibes even better
- 8:04Speaker 4: than what you guys are doing, for sure, But why
- 8:06Speaker 4: make sure you guys sound good?
- 8:07Speaker 1: Right? So my gosh, okay, well never mind, let's get
- 8:11Speaker 1: you off the radio now. But listen, anytime I'm with Roman,
- 8:15Speaker 1: the vibes always go up. So Roman, Yes, I like
- 8:18Speaker 1: the fact that you're here, and I like the fact
- 8:20Speaker 1: that you have that confidence. The vibes would definitely go up.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But I think you and I can create the vibes together.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Definitely a lot of excitement on this show right now.
- 8:29Speaker 1: He's so full of it. Are you serious? Come on now,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I'm being honest, I'm being truthful.
- 8:34Speaker 4: I'm feeling you got Look, I'm never this lively at
- 8:37Speaker 4: eight twelve am rarely even.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Okay, okay, I'll believe you for now. So but you
- 8:42Speaker 1: know you can chime in anytime you want, because I
- 8:45Speaker 1: love having Roman on.
- 8:46Speaker 2: No, No, he can't.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I got him. Never mind, all right, never mind, we
- 8:50Speaker 1: won't be doing that. I'm so sorry, but Roman, i'd
- 8:53Speaker 1: have you on, but you know my guy over here
- 8:55Speaker 1: justin Kayln won't let you on. Okay, I guess he's gone.
- 9:00Speaker 2: It's just a lot.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Oh.
- 9:01Speaker 2: By the way, Matt did have a response yesterday. He
- 9:05Speaker 2: said he just didn't expect to get called on in
- 9:07Speaker 2: the final fifteen seconds of the show, which is why
- 9:10Speaker 2: he didn't respond.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Sure, that's the reason he was out. I know he
- 9:15Speaker 1: was probably laying down.
- 9:17Speaker 2: It's funny you bring that up. So I'll walk in
- 9:19Speaker 2: studio yesterday when I went back there to finish up
- 9:22Speaker 2: spears on sports and do who's your report? Right, And
- 9:25Speaker 2: there's a chair that we have in the corner of
- 9:27Speaker 2: the studio.
- 9:27Speaker 1: You've seen it.
- 9:28Speaker 2: He's got it pulled all the way over yep to him,
- 9:31Speaker 2: and I like, look at the setup in there, and
- 9:33Speaker 2: I'm like, what's going on here? And he said, I
- 9:35Speaker 2: pulled this chair over so I could lay down.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Told you, did I call it? I mean, I'm telling
- 9:41Speaker 1: you right now, the dude has to get some sleep.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I know nine o'clock doesn't come fast enough for me
- 9:46Speaker 1: because that's when Matthew wakes up. Now, Roman, he was,
- 9:50Speaker 1: he was ready to go, and I appear.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Well texting me at six thirty this morning. Yep, okay, Well,
- 9:55Speaker 2: by the way, prayers up for matt I know it's
- 9:58Speaker 2: gonna be a really difficult day for him dogs today.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Don't want to bring the mood down, but I just
- 10:04Speaker 2: want to let him know that we're thinking about him.
- 10:06Speaker 2: You all should be as well.
- 10:07Speaker 1: We're in the midst of an event that happens to
- 10:09Speaker 1: be all about animals and then you're bringing that up. Yes,
- 10:15Speaker 1: but you brought the mood completely down, Thank you very much.
- 10:18Speaker 1: The vibe was up. Roman comes up, the vibe goes
- 10:21Speaker 1: even more up.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Roman.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It was not me, It was this guy right here.
- 10:24Speaker 1: So thanks a lot for that right there, justin But
- 10:27Speaker 1: this good gosh. Man, all right, let's talk about the
- 10:30Speaker 1: way drink because I'm I'm curious now. I did not
- 10:32Speaker 1: see anything about what you're talking about, so please tell
- 10:36Speaker 1: me what you're talking about.
- 10:37Speaker 2: So it's funny that I literally brought this up with
- 10:40Speaker 2: you yesterday. How a couple of weekends ago, I told
- 10:43Speaker 2: you I had a horse go to the gate eight
- 10:45Speaker 2: to one.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Oh, yes, and race started down right.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Went to three to one. Yes, they are correcting that now.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Paramutual racing and what our peramutual wagering is. What I've
- 10:56Speaker 2: learned this morning, is still going to stick around, because
- 10:59Speaker 2: there's still going to be instances where you want to
- 11:01Speaker 2: use that, like pick fives or some of your more
- 11:04Speaker 2: exotic bets. Yeah, However, there is going to be a
- 11:08Speaker 2: separate fixed odds window where if you like a horse
- 11:12Speaker 2: at five to one, you can go to that window
- 11:15Speaker 2: and bet on that horse at five to one and
- 11:18Speaker 2: it does not move. That is the price you get
- 11:22Speaker 2: that is phenomenal. Now, it's not going to be enacted
- 11:25Speaker 2: for this week, but and apparently this is already a
- 11:28Speaker 2: thing up in New Jersey. They already do fixed odds wagern.
- 11:31Speaker 1: In New Jersey.
- 11:32Speaker 2: In New Jersey, after Derby week, you will have the
- 11:36Speaker 2: opportunity to have fixed odds wagers here at Churchill Downs,
- 11:40Speaker 2: which is awesome.
- 11:41Speaker 1: How well do you think the odter even but will
- 11:45Speaker 1: be accepted? You think that is something that will last
- 11:47Speaker 1: because I tell you I think it's a fantastic idea.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I do too. But now so Louis
- 11:54Speaker 2: talked about that on my show this morning as well
- 11:56Speaker 2: and said it's not the greatest bet because you're essentially
- 11:59Speaker 2: bett it's something at minus one seventy, so they're already
- 12:03Speaker 2: taking a ton of money off the top. But if
- 12:05Speaker 2: you're looking at your horses and you're breaking down who
- 12:08Speaker 2: you like in the field, and you like the two
- 12:10Speaker 2: four eight two four six whatever it is, right, then okay, yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 2: let's let's throw throw in on it, because winning a
- 12:17Speaker 2: little bit money is better than winning no money. But
- 12:20Speaker 2: I just I do I like the fact that they're
- 12:23Speaker 2: trying to get new wagers out there and new ways
- 12:26Speaker 2: to bed and actually just build that interest with with
- 12:29Speaker 2: other people.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I went to an event yesterday, a lunch
- 12:33Speaker 1: event where we had Brad Cox and Will not Will Walden,
- 12:40Speaker 1: Will I'll Shoot Mott Okay, you know William Mott's son Bill,
- 12:45Speaker 1: Bill Mott and Uh. A lot of people were talking
- 12:48Speaker 1: about what do you think about the time change? What
- 12:51Speaker 1: do you think about some of the new betting that
- 12:54Speaker 1: they're doing. And I'll give Brad Cox's credit, he was
- 12:59Speaker 1: an open and book and he said, listen, I know
- 13:02Speaker 1: people don't like it. I know people don't like the
- 13:05Speaker 1: fact that we're changing things. But you know what, I'm
- 13:09Speaker 1: in the business of horse racing and whatever makes UH
- 13:13Speaker 1: gets my horses and the sport out there to new
- 13:17Speaker 1: fans is good for the sport. So yes, I can
- 13:20Speaker 1: understand why so many people here in Louisville do not
- 13:23Speaker 1: like the time but it's gonna give a much broader
- 13:28Speaker 1: viewership across the country, so I am for it.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I do ultimately think that it will be a good
- 13:36Speaker 2: thing because you're going from Wasn't the Oaks on NBC
- 13:40Speaker 2: Sports Network. Nobody knows where to even find that. Now
- 13:43Speaker 2: it'll be on the big NBC. It's gonna be readily
- 13:46Speaker 2: available for anybody to seek out if they want to
- 13:49Speaker 2: watch it, or heck, it might be even one of
- 13:50Speaker 2: those things where you're flipping through your TV guide you
- 13:53Speaker 2: see horse racing and your tuning in like horse racing
- 13:56Speaker 2: at nine o'clock at night. Nobody Nobody does that. So
- 13:59Speaker 2: I do think in the long run it will be
- 14:01Speaker 2: a good thing. But you're gonna get two three years
- 14:04Speaker 2: of the locals griping about it and talk about how
- 14:07Speaker 2: much they hate it. And I get that side of
- 14:08Speaker 2: it as well.
- 14:09Speaker 1: But you know what, you don't just sit here and
- 14:12Speaker 1: close your business something say we're gonna be gone all weekend.
- 14:15Speaker 1: What you need to do is, uh, people are still
- 14:18Speaker 1: gonna want to go out to dinner. There's still people
- 14:19Speaker 1: that are going to go out to dinner that didn't
- 14:21Speaker 1: come to the truck. There's people that are gonna go
- 14:23Speaker 1: out to dinner the night before the night after. So
- 14:25Speaker 1: there's still gonna be a lot of opportunity for them
- 14:27Speaker 1: to make their money up. Uh. So it is unfortunate that,
- 14:31Speaker 1: uh this has happened, but uh, there goes a bunch
- 14:34Speaker 1: of really tired guys right there. Wake up guys, wake
- 14:37Speaker 1: the heck up. You're you're out here having fun. You're yawning,
- 14:41Speaker 1: is think? So?
- 14:42Speaker 2: Oh okay, I think that was Doug Davenport up front.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Oh it was I think so who's Doug Davenport.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Oh the head Scotty Davenport's son took Okay, Yeah, but
- 14:51Speaker 2: they were really tall, so I'm guessing that was the basketball.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Okay, good for them. Yeah, I'm sorry. I am not
- 14:58Speaker 1: the best in tune bellerman basket.
- 15:01Speaker 2: They probably had a vigorous practice this morning at six am,
- 15:04Speaker 2: and you're shouting at him to wake up.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Well, I mean there's walking by here staring and yawning
- 15:08Speaker 1: at the same time. At least they could do is
- 15:10Speaker 1: cover their mouth as they're yawning. I mean, have some mouth.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Does anybody yawn and cover their mouth anymore? I have
- 15:16Speaker 1: seen more people at restaurants chewing with their mouth open.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Okay, and it drives me not. That's completely different yawning
- 15:23Speaker 2: with your mouth open versus eating with your mouth.
- 15:25Speaker 1: You're supposed to cover your mouth.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I never do, and I yawned.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Do you not? Really? Oh?
- 15:29Speaker 2: I just do like the big loud lying yon Ooh yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 1: No, wonder you don't have a girlfriend.
- 15:35Speaker 2: There's more reasons than that, mister Bennett.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I'm not here to debate or discuss that, but we
- 15:42Speaker 1: might do that off of Well, we can do it
- 15:43Speaker 1: on air if you ever want to. But yeah, I'm
- 15:45Speaker 1: right there, I'm right.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Look.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Look ten minutes into it, this place is empty, empty empty?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Isn't it nice? That's crazy? I see my level has
- 15:55Speaker 1: just totally relaxed since it's just a few people here.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Now I can see four people here. Now I got three? Okay,
- 16:02Speaker 1: well you got more of me. Yeah, it's just I
- 16:05Speaker 1: love this. Now, if we just had a little breakfast
- 16:07Speaker 1: or something, wouldn't you like some eggs or you.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Know, as much as I appreciate the donuts every year, man,
- 16:13Speaker 2: wouldn't it be great to just have like a sausage,
- 16:15Speaker 2: egg and cheese bagel something?
- 16:17Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 16:18Speaker 1: Where it's Jamie when we need him right? Mean, but
- 16:20Speaker 1: anyway he can get back here, can't he?
- 16:22Speaker 2: Really?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Sure? Does he come back here?
- 16:24Speaker 2: I don't know, but surely he can get back here.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I'd asked that guy come on the radio show, but
- 16:29Speaker 1: he has the wrong shirt on. I won't ask him.
- 16:31Speaker 1: He's got a UFL share.
- 16:32Speaker 2: He's also walking two miles an hour.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Well it's okay, it's okay. If he's doing that, at
- 16:36Speaker 1: least he's walking. He's up right.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Good point.
- 16:38Speaker 1: He's being seen, not viewed.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Good point.
- 16:40Speaker 1: So that's the other good point right there. That's all
- 16:42Speaker 1: I want to say. I want to be seen, not viewed.
- 16:44Speaker 1: So all right, we we you know what, I wanted
- 16:48Speaker 1: to talk about the post position yesterday, but we didn't
- 16:51Speaker 1: really get into it.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Nope.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Uh.
- 16:54Speaker 1: And you know, there's a couple of horses that really
- 16:58Speaker 1: aren't sitting in the greatest post position. And you know,
- 17:01Speaker 1: we did talk about what Todd Pletcher said about his
- 17:03Speaker 1: horse Renegade, who's got the one post position? You tell me,
- 17:08Speaker 1: why do you think that is one of the worst
- 17:09Speaker 1: post positions out there?
- 17:12Speaker 2: You know, I really don't know. I mean, obviously, when
- 17:15Speaker 2: you had the old starting gate, that horse would get
- 17:19Speaker 2: squeezed against the rail, correct and if you didn't have
- 17:21Speaker 2: that early speed or you didn't get a good trip
- 17:24Speaker 2: coming out of the gate, then you were pretty well
- 17:26Speaker 2: screwed because then you'd have to try to navigate your
- 17:28Speaker 2: way around the field unless you're Calvin Barrel or Calvin
- 17:32Speaker 2: bowl Rail and ride that rail up to the finish.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But I want to put themselves in that kind of
- 17:39Speaker 2: position where they are riding up the rail. So you've
- 17:42Speaker 2: you've obviously got some decisions to make if you're coming
- 17:44Speaker 2: out of that one post the way it used to be. Now,
- 17:46Speaker 2: I do think with the different starting gate, you're not
- 17:49Speaker 2: being squeezed nearly as much as you used to be.
- 17:52Speaker 2: So I don't think that one post is as bad
- 17:54Speaker 2: as it used to be, and I believe Renegade could
- 17:56Speaker 2: still come up find a way to win the race
- 17:58Speaker 2: from that one.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Yeah, because you know you talked about it yesterday. The
- 18:02Speaker 1: one post position that has never won the Kentucky Derby seventeen,
- 18:06Speaker 1: the one that's right so odd, right it is to me.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I'm one hundred and fifty two of these things, and
- 18:11Speaker 2: seventeen's never won.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. But here's the other one. It has been
- 18:16Speaker 1: since nineteen sixty one since a horse won from post
- 18:21Speaker 1: position fourteen.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Who we got in fourteen?
- 18:25Speaker 1: That is potent. I don't like that horse anymore. Oh,
- 18:28Speaker 1: you don't really know.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I'm throwing that one out. I've heard a lot of
- 18:32Speaker 2: positive things about that horse. I just I don't like it.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Throwing it out.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Okay, all right, we'll throw out potent. What about Renegade
- 18:39Speaker 1: since he got the post position one? How are you
- 18:41Speaker 1: feeling about that? I mean, I do like Renegade.
- 18:44Speaker 2: It feels like he's got a lot of positive momentum
- 18:47Speaker 2: coming into this race. There's a lot of people here
- 18:50Speaker 2: on the backside that I've talked to in the last
- 18:52Speaker 2: couple of days that are really high on that horse.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I mean, Todd Pledger is excited about him as well,
- 18:58Speaker 2: So I would not be surprised at all if Renegade
- 19:01Speaker 2: finds a way to win.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Well, see, that was my horse until he got the
- 19:04Speaker 1: post position. Yeah, that's who I liked the most.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Here's the thing about horse racing. It's something that I
- 19:09Speaker 2: fall into every single year. Don't let the post position
- 19:14Speaker 2: change your horse, you know, no.
- 19:16Speaker 1: But it did. I'm just gonna tell you right now
- 19:19Speaker 1: it did, and my mind has changed. And I you know,
- 19:23Speaker 1: it's usually you want five, six, seventy eight, nine, ten,
- 19:25Speaker 1: something along those lines. But you look at Albus, who's
- 19:31Speaker 1: got post position two in Trepido, who's got post position three?
- 19:35Speaker 1: Litmus test? I mean who? Mystic Dan won it in
- 19:41Speaker 1: post position three two years ago. Sovereignty was last year
- 19:47Speaker 1: in post position sixteen. By the way, did you see
- 19:51Speaker 1: sovereignty out here?
- 19:52Speaker 2: I did not, but I they're everybody's pretty high on
- 19:56Speaker 2: sovereignty and how good he looks? Well, I need to
- 19:58Speaker 2: see him.
- 19:58Speaker 1: That's the one thing I've learning from several people this
- 20:01Speaker 1: year is running of the Kentucky Derby. There's not that
- 20:04Speaker 1: sovereignty type horse out here, right, This race is pretty
- 20:07Speaker 1: much anybody.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Well, I mean that if you think back to last year,
- 20:10Speaker 2: you had sovereignty and you had journalism. Those are the
- 20:12Speaker 2: two favorites, right. I think you could make the argument
- 20:15Speaker 2: that this year those horses are what renegade and commandment. Yes,
- 20:19Speaker 2: I mean, but there's You're right, it does feel like
- 20:22Speaker 2: a more open race. There's a lot of horses. The people. Heck,
- 20:25Speaker 2: we haven't even you and I haven't even talked about
- 20:28Speaker 2: the puma. There's a lot of people that are high
- 20:30Speaker 2: on the puma.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Nineteen seventy two is the last time that the ninth
- 20:35Speaker 1: post position won the Kentucky Derby. How do you like that?
- 20:39Speaker 1: So do you think those Yes, that's the puma, So
- 20:42Speaker 1: the pumas there? River Ridge is the last horse that
- 20:46Speaker 1: won there. River River r I v A River Ridge. Yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 1: And I don't look at me and think, I'm it's
- 20:55Speaker 1: not River, It's River. I like it, River Ridge. That's
- 21:00Speaker 1: hard to say. I don't like that. No, I don't
- 21:03Speaker 1: like it. I did like Ferdinand. I mean, I know
- 21:05Speaker 1: you talked about him yesterday. I thought super Saveror is
- 21:09Speaker 1: a cool name. Always dreaming. I mean, I do see
- 21:12Speaker 1: Hero as one of my favorite names, and I love
- 21:15Speaker 1: that horse. But you know, this year kind of the
- 21:17Speaker 1: cool names. I think the Puma is a really cool name.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Commandment I think is a really cool name. Incredible, I know,
- 21:26Speaker 1: is one of my favorites right there. And then you
- 21:28Speaker 1: know Chief Wallaby, who you love saying here we go.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Of course that's a Wilmott horse, and a lot of
- 21:37Speaker 1: people are really liking that. The track announcer was there
- 21:41Speaker 1: yesterday at this lunching event that I went to, and
- 21:44Speaker 1: he was really saying, listen, don't throw out Chief Wallaby
- 21:49Speaker 1: in this race this year. So anyway, we gotta take
- 21:51Speaker 1: our first break.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Do you know who on the derby the year you
- 21:53Speaker 2: were born.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Nineteen sixty five? Cannon aid? Is that right? I'm not
- 21:58Speaker 1: gonna check it, I think so.
- 22:00Speaker 2: I just got told by it yesterday Sunday silence.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Oh really, I see that's so sad because I remember
- 22:05Speaker 1: Sunday silence because you're old. Thanks. I really appreciate that.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So yeah, I am uh. Five O two three four
- 22:12Speaker 1: fourteen fifty. You want to know you can't call in,
- 22:14Speaker 1: so don't do that. Five O two four one four
- 22:16Speaker 1: fourteen fifty. You want to text in on the whiskey
- 22:18Speaker 1: teed text on. Look, there's Michael Mettz right there, a
- 22:21Speaker 1: trainer of Barbaro. I might have to go get him
- 22:24Speaker 1: to come on with us because he is one of
- 22:26Speaker 1: my favorites. Anyway, all right, stay right there. A lot
- 22:29Speaker 1: more justic CAAT's coming.
- 22:30Speaker 6: Up myself the barely out you.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Be still with me Monday.
- 22:41Speaker 6: Nine, Sony, shit is a shock.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Make it up. The chances are you're not gonna win,
- 23:19Speaker 1: I mean that's the way I feel. Chances are you
- 23:21Speaker 1: gonna lose every single time? Five O two four fourteen fifty.
- 23:25Speaker 1: That's stinking thinking, Michael Benna, is it really? Yeah? That's
- 23:28Speaker 1: the Whiskey thief text line. If you want to just
- 23:30Speaker 1: go ahead and put your drink there, it's okay, just
- 23:32Speaker 1: leave it right there. It's a table for everyone, Okay,
- 23:38Speaker 1: Young Trey Ryan. Trey Ryan's a good guy. I mean,
- 23:42Speaker 1: even though he goes to u of L. I mean,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I guess you know, when you don't make good grades
- 23:45Speaker 1: in high school, that's what happened. That's the only school
- 23:47Speaker 1: that you're accepted in. And so that's what life, you know,
- 23:51Speaker 1: deals you in cards. But gotta play the card you're don't. Yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: why did they turn the lights out? Now? I can't
- 23:56Speaker 1: see any I love it? Oh you do.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I love when they turn the light Okay, all right,
- 24:01Speaker 2: because that means it's officially daytime.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Well, every girl you dated love when you turn the
- 24:05Speaker 1: lights off. So wow, come on, it's just it's just
- 24:11Speaker 1: a little joke. It's been fifteen years, Michael. We can't
- 24:13Speaker 1: be making those jokes anymore because we don't remember. Oh oh, okay,
- 24:18Speaker 1: I wouldn't go in that far. Uh. Let's talk a
- 24:21Speaker 1: little bit about UK Kenny brooks Lands a Florida transfer
- 24:26Speaker 1: Meira O'Neill.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yep, I think you said it wrong, but yep I did.
- 24:32Speaker 2: How do you say it?
- 24:33Speaker 1: That's a great question. Let me look okay, yeah, sure,
- 24:35Speaker 1: you're gonna make fun of me. Okay, then you don't
- 24:37Speaker 1: even know how to.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Pronounce it well, I need to see it.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And if them apostrophe a r a h Meira Myra,
- 24:45Speaker 1: maybe it's Myra Meira. I have no idea, but that's
- 24:50Speaker 1: not the key. Miara, Miara, that's what I would say,
- 24:53Speaker 1: all right, Miarra. I'll pronounce it the way you say
- 24:56Speaker 1: because you're probably right. Uh. She was considering a host schools, Virginia,
- 25:01Speaker 1: North Carolina, Southern cal Uh. She's the third commit for
- 25:07Speaker 1: coach Kenny Brooks and the University Kentucky women's basketball team,
- 25:10Speaker 1: joining Yukon transfer Arianna Patterson and Alabama transfer Diana Collins.
- 25:16Speaker 1: This here's the part I like not well. First of all,
- 25:20Speaker 1: six foot four forward average thirteen points a game and
- 25:23Speaker 1: six rebounds a game.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I mean, when you're the daughter of Shack, I did that?
- 25:27Speaker 1: You just stole the whole thing. Go ahead, we all
- 25:30Speaker 1: know how much is Shaquille O'Neal going to come to
- 25:33Speaker 1: women's basketball in Kentucky And how much fun is that
- 25:36Speaker 1: going to be?
- 25:37Speaker 2: Kentucky women's basketball is quickly becoming what Kentucky men's basketball
- 25:44Speaker 2: used to be. Right like it is. It's the cool
- 25:47Speaker 2: thing to do now with Kenny Brooks leading the charge.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I mean, you got those three all American girls coming
- 25:52Speaker 2: in next year. You've got obviously Quille O'Neill's daughter. I mean,
- 25:56Speaker 2: it's it's amazing the fact that is gonna be around,
- 26:01Speaker 2: and that's a everybody knows Shaquille O'Neill. Everybody, So that's
- 26:05Speaker 2: that'll be a huge thing, not only for that team,
- 26:09Speaker 2: but for future recruiting as well.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you're exactly great, And how much fun is that
- 26:14Speaker 1: for everybody out there? People will go to the games
- 26:17Speaker 1: now just to see Shaquille O'Neill and then they'll get
- 26:21Speaker 1: to watch a women's basketball game. And you know, anytime
- 26:24Speaker 1: you have star power like that, it makes a lot
- 26:26Speaker 1: of fun. I enjoy that.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Well, it's kind of think of all the NBA guys
- 26:31Speaker 2: that are about to be on UK's campus, right, You've
- 26:33Speaker 2: already got Mo Williams in the fold. We're waiting on
- 26:36Speaker 2: Jamal Crawford see if he wants to take that coaching
- 26:39Speaker 2: job or not. With Mark Bope, Shaquille O'Neill obviously gonna
- 26:42Speaker 2: spend a ton of time on campus with his daughter.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I mean, it's there's a lot of NBA talent on on.
- 26:49Speaker 1: On both sides. Yeah, exactly for women's basketball and men's basketball,
- 26:53Speaker 1: and I love it, and you gotta believe Kenny Brooks
- 26:56Speaker 1: is ecstatic the fact that he will have Shaquillo near
- 27:00Speaker 1: that's the cool factory, and I think you're right that
- 27:02Speaker 1: it has landed for UK basketball and Kenny Brooks. Even
- 27:06Speaker 1: though you know we especially you, I'll give you all
- 27:09Speaker 1: the credit. You kind of saw the coolness that within
- 27:13Speaker 1: Kenny Brooks a lot more than both people out there.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there's there's a lot to believe in
- 27:19Speaker 2: with this guy. I mean there is a certain coolness
- 27:22Speaker 2: factor when it comes to Kenny Brooks, and I just
- 27:24Speaker 2: I love him for that. That's why you're seeing all
- 27:26Speaker 2: these high level players commit to him. And who knows.
- 27:30Speaker 2: I mean maybe the way that we've talked about South
- 27:32Speaker 2: Carolina and Yukon and Texas over the years, maybe that's
- 27:36Speaker 2: slowly changing and that will include Kentucky one day. And
- 27:39Speaker 2: I firmly believe that he will have them in a
- 27:42Speaker 2: position to win a championship.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I do too, and you know they're getting closer and closer.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Of course, Texas was the big team this year, but
- 27:50Speaker 1: I find ourselves talking more about UK women's basketball than
- 27:55Speaker 1: I ever have the last couple of years since, because it's.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Positive, it's fun, it's it's fun, it's pause. It feels
- 28:00Speaker 2: like there's constantly good news coming from them as opposed
- 28:04Speaker 2: to whatever is happening on the men's side of things. Now,
- 28:07Speaker 2: you are getting good news in that regard to but
- 28:09Speaker 2: it's just not constant good news like you get with
- 28:11Speaker 2: the women.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yes, uh, let's go to the whiskey. Ted text line
- 28:14Speaker 1: five two fourteen fifty. Josh texts it out, Michael, been
- 28:19Speaker 1: a while since I've been around horses. Do the horses
- 28:21Speaker 1: get spooked during the storms like we had last night?
- 28:24Speaker 1: I'll hang up and listen. Thanks for the golf, Josh. Yes,
- 28:29Speaker 1: they do, they very much. I mean, think about it,
- 28:34Speaker 1: majority of animals out there get spooked. Horses definitely do.
- 28:38Speaker 1: I mean they're here in a stall, and a lot
- 28:41Speaker 1: of times they haven't been in this area that long.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I mean, it's nerve racking because of the fact that
- 28:47Speaker 1: here you got these millions of dollars of horses hanging
- 28:50Speaker 1: out here, and the last thing you want is wanted
- 28:52Speaker 1: them to go nuts and and kick, and then all
- 28:56Speaker 1: of a sudden they they injure themselves on the foot.
- 29:00Speaker 1: So anyway, all right, you got to come over here.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Don't just walk by and say nothing to me. It's
- 29:07Speaker 1: it's it's not on.
- 29:08Speaker 2: No turn it like, make sure the flip is switched.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I did flip the turn it on. Right there, there
- 29:13Speaker 2: we go.
- 29:14Speaker 3: I've got that same best sweater.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Oh do you all right? Identify yourself now?
- 29:19Speaker 7: My name is Joel Stevens. I'm horse racing degenerate.
- 29:27Speaker 1: This is and who is with you?
- 29:29Speaker 7: Her name is Becky Hart. She's a Her name is
- 29:33Speaker 7: Becky Hart. She's a high school friend from a girlfriend
- 29:35Speaker 7: from uh, Florida.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Oh did you hear that girlfriend?
- 29:39Speaker 7: Well, we weren't boyfriend and girlfriend in high school.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Okay, we have become since Oh really, congratulations, we welcome.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Welcome to the community. Well just yeah, run away as
- 29:52Speaker 1: fast as you can. What part of Florida? Are you from?
- 29:55Speaker 6: Central Florida between Tampa and Orlando?
- 29:57Speaker 1: Okay, so be a little more specific. Win are Haven?
- 30:01Speaker 1: There you go? See? I knew winter Haven. Welcome to Louisville,
- 30:04Speaker 1: Kentucky's a he's.
- 30:05Speaker 7: A well traveled UH radio host slash horsemen slash Listen
- 30:10Speaker 7: to this guy, yeah, salesman.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Okay, that's enough. Now I'll tell you about this guy
- 30:16Speaker 1: right now. First of all, retired lieutenant colonel in the
- 30:21Speaker 1: Air Force. And every time I'm at Dale Roman's office,
- 30:26Speaker 1: this guy is sitting on the couch, hanging around the bar,
- 30:28Speaker 1: and he's everywhere. But it's always good to see you,
- 30:32Speaker 1: great to see Are you ready for Derby? Of course?
- 30:35Speaker 1: I mean what else gets you up? And ask him
- 30:37Speaker 1: where he got the cigar?
- 30:39Speaker 3: I give back and forth.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough. It does smell good, doesn't it. Between
- 30:46Speaker 1: he and Dale, they smoked some of the nicest cigars
- 30:49Speaker 1: that you might not like it, but I love it.
- 30:51Speaker 7: She's actually we go to Tampa a lot together because
- 30:53Speaker 7: that's where I'm flying it out of When I go
- 30:54Speaker 7: visit her and she we go to Abor City and
- 30:58Speaker 7: I have I'm bad influence as far as her longs.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Goo, she's now a cigar smoker. You gotta be kidding me.
- 31:07Speaker 1: It's nothing. There is nothing sexier of a woman smoking
- 31:11Speaker 1: a cigar just to let you look here. She's really embarrassed. Now,
- 31:17Speaker 1: don't worry. Nobody listened to the show. Nobody even knows
- 31:19Speaker 1: we're on the air. Maybe yeah, yeah, it's not even that,
- 31:23Speaker 1: but anyway, but it's it's all good. Welcome to Louisville.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Is this your first time up here? She can't, no, no,
- 31:33Speaker 1: why before you have been? Okay? Yeah, you enjoyed up here? Yes,
- 31:39Speaker 1: it's beautiful. Yeah yeah, okay, Well nobody can hear you
- 31:45Speaker 1: in liss The microphones, you know, this is how radio works.
- 31:48Speaker 7: I'm not used to having a microphone in front of.
- 31:50Speaker 1: It, except but if you're on an airplane you are.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so you are used to it. My goodness,
- 31:58Speaker 1: a cigar smoke has gotten mine airplane because he flies.
- 32:03Speaker 7: And then I'm retired from Delta as well.
- 32:05Speaker 1: That's awesome, that's nice.
- 32:07Speaker 7: That's why I can be a horse racing degenerate. Now
- 32:10Speaker 7: there you go, and it smokes cigars in the morning
- 32:12Speaker 7: and watch him train.
- 32:14Speaker 1: All right, we got to talk to Aaron. Come on, Aaron,
- 32:16Speaker 1: come over here, please, you gotta talk to us.
- 32:20Speaker 7: He's twenty five six.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Now identify yourself. Aaron.
- 32:25Speaker 8: Tom Murphy work West Point Thoroughbreds.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Aaron, Tom boss. I know Aaron is your boss, exactly, Tom. Yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: so he works for West Point Thoroughbreds. And we have
- 32:39Speaker 1: a horse together. Yes, you know that we have a
- 32:41Speaker 1: horse together. I'm looking Yeah, exactly I'm looking forward to
- 32:45Speaker 1: Cosmic Creek getting up here someday. Yes, hopefully you're soon.
- 32:48Speaker 8: You know, once typically once we get through Derby and
- 32:50Speaker 8: can everything settles down a little, is when we'll see
- 32:53Speaker 8: a lot of these two year old babies come through.
- 32:54Speaker 1: But I'm excited to get her up here. And who
- 32:56Speaker 1: is your horse this week? This week? County Stars and
- 32:59Speaker 1: the Oaks, Counting Stars and the Oaks. Well, of course,
- 33:02Speaker 1: Counting Stars and the Yolks. That's a horse, y'all own,
- 33:05Speaker 1: of course, Okay, but I'm talking about Derby. I mean, okay,
- 33:08Speaker 1: Derby horse.
- 33:08Speaker 8: I like, I've been pretty pretty high commandment for a
- 33:11Speaker 8: while now, and have you really I've liked I liked
- 33:14Speaker 8: how he drew, and I loved how he ran into
- 33:16Speaker 8: the Florida Derby. I mean, he's one of those horses
- 33:18Speaker 8: that just on paper, he keeps getting better and better,
- 33:20Speaker 8: and he's been churning out in the Florida Derby. At
- 33:24Speaker 8: least he turned out you know, every every single fraction
- 33:27Speaker 8: twelve second, twelve second, twelve second.
- 33:29Speaker 1: He's consistent.
- 33:29Speaker 8: If he does that in the Derby, I mean that
- 33:31Speaker 8: just screams Derby horse to me. And he knows how
- 33:33Speaker 8: to win. He knows how to get his nose down
- 33:34Speaker 8: to the wire. So obviously twenty horses real tough thing
- 33:37Speaker 8: to do. But uh, you know, turn for home if
- 33:40Speaker 8: he's anywhere close. I'll take my chances there.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I like him. Sounds good. Go go ahead and give
- 33:44Speaker 1: a plug for your company. It's okay, of.
- 33:46Speaker 8: Course, West Point Thoroughbreds. Look for We've got county stars
- 33:49Speaker 8: in the oaks.
- 33:50Speaker 2: About that.
- 33:51Speaker 1: He's not shy? Is he ware you go? Tommy? Thank you, Terry.
- 33:57Speaker 7: So he learned from telling Terry Terry Finn Yeah, Terry Finley,
- 34:01Speaker 7: Yeah exactly. And I got to put a plug in
- 34:03Speaker 7: for the University of Lovell equals.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Oh no, we're not doing that. No, no, he and I.
- 34:08Speaker 1: That's where we met. Oh it is really yeah, we
- 34:10Speaker 1: met at you.
- 34:11Speaker 7: I'm a fifty three year old, he's a twenty six
- 34:13Speaker 7: year old. And we met in during COVID in class
- 34:17Speaker 7: at university level, learning the equon business. And he's done
- 34:20Speaker 7: a lot with it and I just sit around and
- 34:22Speaker 7: drink coffee and because.
- 34:24Speaker 1: You can afford to do that. Good to see you, Tommy.
- 34:26Speaker 1: All right, you talk to you soon, all right? Always
- 34:29Speaker 1: good to see you know, every day I see you.
- 34:31Speaker 1: It's always a good day, all right, we'll see it.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Very nice meeting you. You're welcome. So all right, I'm sorry,
- 34:38Speaker 1: I know, I just totally that's fine. I know, but
- 34:41Speaker 1: but you know that's the part of being back here
- 34:44Speaker 1: that I enjoyed the movie. You know, you think Dugan
- 34:46Speaker 1: Ryan would come over here and say hello, but former
- 34:49Speaker 1: owner of the radio station.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and take our first our next break.
- 34:55Speaker 1: We'll get back to more of the text message as
- 34:57Speaker 1: soon as we get back five two four four fourteen.
- 35:00Speaker 1: If the stay right there, a lot more of the
- 35:02Speaker 1: crazy squirrel, just the cats.
- 35:04Speaker 9: We'll be right back to this stunning, ulievable.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Upst you know, uh, you're playing Epicenter right there. Of course,
- 35:30Speaker 1: rich Strike won that right there. Epicenter is one of
- 35:33Speaker 1: the more well thought of as well as another horse
- 35:36Speaker 1: named Golden Pale as far as sires right now, so
- 35:40Speaker 1: Into Mischief is number one gun Runners right there with him.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Bolt Dioro is up and coming, Golden Pale and Epicenter.
- 35:47Speaker 1: So uh, oh my goodness, she's taking a picture of us.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Why is she doing that? You called her out for
- 35:53Speaker 1: smoking cigar? Did I didn't call her out for smoking
- 35:56Speaker 1: cigars her boyfriend did, I said nothing. Oh my gosh, man,
- 36:01Speaker 1: why am I always accused of everything? Oh no, why
- 36:05Speaker 1: I don't either. I think that's pretty cool. She smokes cigars.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And now there could be you know, in the windows
- 36:11Speaker 1: in there. But no, let's not go there. Uh. Local
- 36:14Speaker 1: John texted out five two four one four fourteen fifty.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Uh John, here, by gosh, Michael, you start to show
- 36:21Speaker 1: up and shortly into it you mentioned trainer Todd Pletcher,
- 36:24Speaker 1: which would uh, which you would when you see him,
- 36:29Speaker 1: and he is a Hall of Famer. Okay, justin? Can
- 36:32Speaker 1: you fill it? Uh? Can you can fill you in?
- 36:36Speaker 1: But now I believe Renegade can get it done as
- 36:39Speaker 1: the favorite despite getting gate one position. So tell me
- 36:43Speaker 1: what type of bet should I do to make some
- 36:46Speaker 1: money off of the horse despite coming in as the favorite.
- 36:51Speaker 1: I might have to pair in other bets to make
- 36:54Speaker 1: some cash. Gotta go talk to you. I disagree, John.
- 36:57Speaker 2: If you like Renegade, thread it bet Renegade win, play
- 37:01Speaker 2: show throw. I don't know ten bucks across the board
- 37:04Speaker 2: that'll cost you thirty dollars, but you get five times
- 37:07Speaker 2: of whatever that pays, so that's worth it. If you
- 37:10Speaker 2: like Renegade, bet Renegade, don't pair it with anybody else, so.
- 37:14Speaker 1: You wouldn't see would I would put two dollars Renegade
- 37:17Speaker 1: to win, and then pair it with everybody else every
- 37:20Speaker 1: long shot, and then you win something from that point.
- 37:24Speaker 2: And an EXACTU that's gonna cost a lot of money.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Here's the deal, Kentucky Derby.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Every long shot, it would be two dollars, would be uh.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but what I mean the odds of one of
- 37:35Speaker 2: those happens. This isn't the Kentucky Derby. This is why
- 37:39Speaker 2: I'm terrible at it. The Kentucky Derby is not your
- 37:42Speaker 2: random Saturday bet. The Kentucky Derby is one of the
- 37:46Speaker 2: most unpredictable races and all of horse racing, may be
- 37:48Speaker 2: the most unpredictable race and all of horse racing. So
- 37:51Speaker 2: I wouldn't mess with pairing anything together four horses together
- 37:58Speaker 2: in a exact or a try fit of some sort.
- 38:00Speaker 2: But if you like Renegade and that's your favorite horse,
- 38:04Speaker 2: bet only Renegade, that would be my advice.
- 38:06Speaker 1: It would be You're not gonna win much money, though.
- 38:09Speaker 2: If you throw ten acrossed on it and it ends
- 38:12Speaker 2: up coming in it I don't know. Let's say it
- 38:14Speaker 2: goes off at four to one, that win money is
- 38:16Speaker 2: gonna be nine and some change time's that by five.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I mean you're you're gonna win a nice little chunk.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Okay. Uh uh Buzz texted in. Those kids aren't skipping school.
- 38:26Speaker 1: They're on a field trip for educational purposes. No way
- 38:30Speaker 1: that's true. No this why why? I mean, you're using
- 38:35Speaker 1: mathematics out here to do uh betting, betting?
- 38:39Speaker 2: Come on, they're ten years old. They can't bet, but.
- 38:43Speaker 1: They're learning how to bet. They're using math to learn
- 38:46Speaker 1: how to bet.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Even ten year old how to bet?
- 38:48Speaker 1: Why? W all right, we're learning about no wonder. Nobody
- 38:51Speaker 1: has kind science. That's what we're learning.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, I can get behind that. By the way,
- 38:57Speaker 2: Josh texted me and said, how come these punk cast
- 38:59Speaker 2: kids on the backside? B But I can't be you
- 39:03Speaker 2: know what? All right, Josh, I'll make you a deal.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I'll get you in. You text, well, you have my
- 39:12Speaker 2: number two? You Yeah, you just want me to meet
- 39:15Speaker 2: up with me in the morning, Joss, Exactly.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I want people to experience what it's like being back here.
- 39:22Speaker 1: So I mean next year, I think I'm gonna get
- 39:24Speaker 1: it to where we have a few listeners come with us,
- 39:28Speaker 1: and I don't have a problem with that, and I'll
- 39:30Speaker 1: make sure they get in and they'll be able to
- 39:32Speaker 1: leave on their own. But you got to act appropriate way.
- 39:34Speaker 1: You can't come in here and and spooking horses. You
- 39:37Speaker 1: can't do that. I'll get in a lot of trouble there.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Uh Will from south and said Steven Peak has been
- 39:43Speaker 1: on kr SEA since Raush left. Michael Bennett not a
- 39:46Speaker 1: company man. This is true. Well, it's not intentional though.
- 39:52Speaker 2: You just don't have time.
- 39:53Speaker 1: I'm busy. I mean, I got listen, I got things
- 39:57Speaker 1: to do, people to see the podcast. Every day, I
- 40:01Speaker 1: don't listen to it, and I'm so sorry. I know
- 40:04Speaker 1: I don't even listen to my podcast. I mean, I
- 40:07Speaker 1: just I think it's creepy to listen to yourself.
- 40:10Speaker 2: You never go back and do an air check on yourself. Never.
- 40:13Speaker 1: I have never.
- 40:14Speaker 2: It is that's really good practice in radio.
- 40:17Speaker 1: You know what to do that because when I was
- 40:18Speaker 1: at the other station, they made such a ritual, Michael,
- 40:22Speaker 1: we need to sit down in a room and we're
- 40:24Speaker 1: going to critique you in front of you. It was
- 40:27Speaker 1: so uncomfortable for me. I don't ever want to listen
- 40:30Speaker 1: to me again, because I'm probably hard on myself more
- 40:33Speaker 1: than anybody else. And you can make fun of me,
- 40:35Speaker 1: you can do all you want, but I'm harder on
- 40:37Speaker 1: me than you'll ever be making fun of me. For
- 40:41Speaker 1: those people that don't like me, I don't. I just
- 40:43Speaker 1: I just it just it hit me in such a way.
- 40:46Speaker 1: I hate it. So you go back and listen to yourself.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Was what you were telling me that once a week?
- 40:52Speaker 1: Do you really?
- 40:53Speaker 2: I mean, it's that's like I said, that's just good
- 40:55Speaker 2: practice to do in radio. Okay, I'll help you get
- 40:58Speaker 2: better if.
- 40:58Speaker 1: You hear what you're doing well and what you're not.
- 41:00Speaker 1: All right, then I tell you what. Here's what I'll do.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I don't want to listen to a whole two hour show.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Oh you don't have to, all.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Right, So how long do you listen to yourself?
- 41:08Speaker 2: I'll listen to about thirty thirty five minutes?
- 41:10Speaker 1: Do you well that's the entire show? No for an
- 41:13Speaker 1: hour show? About forty eight? Okay, all right, I'll sit
- 41:16Speaker 1: I'll sit down with you, and you and I listened
- 41:19Speaker 1: together to this show, and you tell me. Okay, there
- 41:23Speaker 1: you go. So you're not willing to help me, So
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'll guess I'll just be miserable at radio the rest
- 41:27Speaker 1: of my life. Forty eight Handily said, let me get
- 41:31Speaker 1: all these right here. Lucky Debonair was sixty five. Bill
- 41:35Speaker 1: Schumaker was in the Irons.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Are you sixty five?
- 41:39Speaker 1: So I guess that's a I was sixty five. Yeah, Lucky Debonair.
- 41:42Speaker 1: That's a cool name. I like that. That's why Michael
- 41:44Speaker 1: Bennett is Debonair. I'm Lucky and Debonair. I don't know
- 41:47Speaker 1: what that means. Debonair, no debutyntes okay. Riva Ridge was
- 41:55Speaker 1: a stable made of Secretariat pronounced Riva Ridge. Oh it
- 41:58Speaker 1: is Riva. I like saying riv because it sounds like river,
- 42:01Speaker 1: but river River Ridge was Reva Ridge was a stablemate
- 42:05Speaker 1: Secretary Turcott winning the Derby two years in a row,
- 42:09Speaker 1: seventy two and seventy three. That's pretty cool. Turcott was
- 42:13Speaker 1: a trainer.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah. I was like, wait, we've got one
- 42:17Speaker 2: back to back.
- 42:17Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, the trainer did uh. One person
- 42:21Speaker 1: said have some fun if you can get Stokes or yesafu.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I know I'm butchering that name. Nailed I did, Okay,
- 42:30Speaker 1: who has a better starting five? UK or U of L?
- 42:34Speaker 1: M Well, see, I want to throw the bias out
- 42:39Speaker 1: and be completely honest because I know. Uh, here's the
- 42:44Speaker 1: problem that I continue to have with U of L.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I just don't know if all those players, and you
- 42:49Speaker 1: can say the same thing about UK, I don't know
- 42:51Speaker 1: if those players are going to gel together on paper
- 42:54Speaker 1: right now, clearly U of L has the better roster.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, uh if they get Stokes and yes.
- 43:03Speaker 2: OFFU getting both.
- 43:06Speaker 1: See, I don't think so we either know. But if
- 43:08Speaker 1: they did, if let's just have fun. If UK did,
- 43:13Speaker 1: there goes Tommy see Tommy? Oh geez, don't say that now,
- 43:18Speaker 1: he said go karts? Okay? Uh, but if you get
- 43:21Speaker 1: both of them, you're you're probably right. Do you think
- 43:24Speaker 1: UK matches in roster or do you think they surpassed
- 43:30Speaker 1: them in roster? I think it's.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Pretty much a toss up. If I'm honest, it is
- 43:35Speaker 2: a toss up. Yeah, I mean one. A lot of
- 43:37Speaker 2: these things, we don't know how they're gonna play out.
- 43:40Speaker 2: We don't know how Florie Badouinka is gonna look for
- 43:43Speaker 2: Pat and Pat Kelsey's offense. We don't know how a
- 43:45Speaker 2: number of the players look right. I mean, we can
- 43:49Speaker 2: sit here and debate all we want, but as of
- 43:51Speaker 2: right now looking at it, if you get one of
- 43:53Speaker 2: those guys, like I said, you're not getting both of them.
- 43:56Speaker 2: So if you get one, specifically Tyrone Stokes, I think
- 44:00Speaker 2: it's pretty close.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I just I like the opportunity. I like the fact
- 44:04Speaker 1: that there is a shot at getting one, if not two,
- 44:07Speaker 1: and if they do, it changes the entire narrative on
- 44:10Speaker 1: Mark Pope. That's the part I like the most. But
- 44:13Speaker 1: hopefully that happens. We just got to wait and see.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I'm so sick and tired of talking about it. I'm
- 44:18Speaker 1: to the point where I'm like, you justin just pick
- 44:20Speaker 1: a school.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Even if it wasn't it supposed to be yesterday.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Well, a lot of people are saying that Jeff Goodman
- 44:25Speaker 1: was saying that, and he didn't even believe himself. So
- 44:28Speaker 1: and of course here we are. So I don't know
- 44:31Speaker 1: what to tell you. I don't know what's taking so long.
- 44:34Speaker 1: I'm to the point now he's going to Oregon. I
- 44:36Speaker 1: just love it. I don't know why you say that
- 44:39Speaker 1: on a UK show that you would love that he
- 44:41Speaker 1: goes to.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Orgon, that's just best for drama.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Yeah, he wouldn't do anything out there. I mean, they're
- 44:46Speaker 1: not going to win anything, so why go there? Purely
- 44:50Speaker 1: it would be for money money, that's and that's the
- 44:53Speaker 1: home of Nike. Well, and that's where the money's coming from. Yeah,
- 44:57Speaker 1: I mean so I think that's.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Key will make him all kinds of promises if he
- 45:02Speaker 2: goes to Oregon, they'll they'll.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Doesn't see, that's NotI and UK is a Nike school,
- 45:07Speaker 1: and for them to say we're gonna make more promises
- 45:09Speaker 1: for Oregon is the very problem I have with all
- 45:12Speaker 1: these shoe deals. It's like, you can't a shoe company
- 45:16Speaker 1: should not be allowed to do that for one particular school.
- 45:18Speaker 2: They have been for years and years now.
- 45:20Speaker 1: It hasn't worked out. No, that's the amazing part. It
- 45:24Speaker 1: hasn't worked at at all. And uh, anyway, I just
- 45:28Speaker 1: I really have a problem. How much time do we have.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I don't want to go about all right, thirty five seconds,
- 45:33Speaker 1: so I don't have time to talk about this. When
- 45:34Speaker 1: we come back. I do want to talk about UK
- 45:37Speaker 1: making the cut. As far as basketball, one particular player
- 45:41Speaker 1: one of the derby events that is anybody ever gonna win.
- 45:44Speaker 1: We'll talk about that as well. And then yes, uh,
- 45:47Speaker 1: there is a quarterback, not the one you're thinking of. Uh,
- 45:51Speaker 1: that is being investigated by the NCAA. I want to
- 45:56Speaker 1: talk about that. And it's it's obvious. Why are they investigating?
- 45:59Speaker 1: Because it's obvious, is now? What's going on? Stay right there?
- 46:02Speaker 1: A lot more just the cat's coming up hour two
- 46:05Speaker 1: fable two four one four fourteen to fifteen ES.
- 46:16Speaker 3: This is Kentucky and it is only locally owned sports
- 46:19Speaker 3: Talk the Big X Hey fourteen fifty and ninety six
- 46:22Speaker 3: point one fl How about you xtually.
- 46:24Speaker 1: W FABO two four one four fourteen fifty if you
- 46:30Speaker 1: want to text in on the Whisky Thief text line.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I didn't see what you were doing there, so I
- 46:34Speaker 1: didn't hear a thing. That's okay. I didn't have your thing. Okay,
- 46:37Speaker 1: yeah you can owe you really Okay, Well neither did
- 46:41Speaker 1: my wife. But anyway, Uh so you know Tuesday, normally,
- 46:46Speaker 1: you know what day it is. It's Tuesday, and normally
- 46:48Speaker 1: we have somebody here. He's running a little late, so
- 46:52Speaker 1: he's coming. He's coming. Yeah, they won't let him park
- 46:56Speaker 1: at Churchill Down, so he's got to go to the
- 46:58Speaker 1: fairgrounds and park there and bring a bus over. So
- 47:01Speaker 1: he's coming in Lakes. Yeah, I'm not kidding, Yeah exactly
- 47:04Speaker 1: so uh so anyway, but we're gonna push on. And
- 47:09Speaker 1: if you want to text in on the Whiskey thief
- 47:11Speaker 1: text line, I would appreciate that. Uh, let's get to
- 47:13Speaker 1: a couple here, uh zach man Zach said, nothing like
- 47:19Speaker 1: putting ten dollars on rich strike to win just.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Because yeah he did, I can confirm.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Oh he did.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Your brother did that really won? Like eight dollars off
- 47:29Speaker 2: a ten dollars bed?
- 47:30Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? Okay? Wow? John here said, Look, justin,
- 47:37Speaker 1: Kentucky men's basketball is still cool. There are so many
- 47:42Speaker 1: against Kentucky basketball and coach Bope. Justin you may not
- 47:46Speaker 1: be against Coach Pope and Kentucky basketball, but it does
- 47:50Speaker 1: seem like you have this exciting feeling about Kentucky situation
- 47:55Speaker 1: right now, especially when you make commitments like I hope
- 47:58Speaker 1: he who must not be manned, named maimed okay named yeah,
- 48:06Speaker 1: oh named goes to Oregon. Okay, I get it, Yeah,
- 48:09Speaker 1: you misspelled it? All right, then it's all right. Justin
- 48:12Speaker 1: Kentucky will be become an IU basketball will not become
- 48:15Speaker 1: an IU basketball program. Keith Smart nineteen eighty seven was
- 48:19Speaker 1: a long time ago. Keep that memory. That is all
- 48:23Speaker 1: you will have for a while.
- 48:24Speaker 2: My friend John, I was not saying that Kentucky basketball
- 48:28Speaker 2: is not cool. I'm just saying what the women's program
- 48:32Speaker 2: is now is what the men's program used to be.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I'm just saying the women's program at this juncture a
- 48:38Speaker 2: little more cool than the men's program. But that doesn't
- 48:41Speaker 2: mean that I'm saying Kentucky men's program is not cool.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Although I may well that guy in Indianapolis keep saying
- 48:48Speaker 1: that because I think he's hoping it happens.
- 48:50Speaker 2: But can we stop putting so much stock into what
- 48:52Speaker 2: that dude says?
- 48:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you. Is that that hard with you?
- 48:56Speaker 1: Between him? Between him and a good man? I mean,
- 49:00Speaker 1: both of them, they're ridiculous. I don't I don't know
- 49:03Speaker 1: why people give them any credit for anything. I don't
- 49:06Speaker 1: know if you saw this or not, but pat Riley
- 49:09Speaker 1: made a comment in a media conference where he said
- 49:14Speaker 1: he will never trade from the Miami Heat bam at bio.
- 49:19Speaker 1: He goes, I will never trade him unless he gets
- 49:23Speaker 1: eight picks and Victor wimb win beIN Yama.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Eight picks and win Maniela. Yes, that's foolish. That's one
- 49:32Speaker 2: of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Is he right to never trade BAM ade Bio.
- 49:36Speaker 2: If he got offered win ben Yama for BAM out
- 49:40Speaker 2: of bioh you should take Really, I mean.
- 49:43Speaker 1: That was a lot of I mean a lot of
- 49:46Speaker 1: street credit from pat Riley of all people say I
- 49:48Speaker 1: will never trade BAM out. He loves BAM.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I get their Kentucky connection, I get BAM.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I don't think it's that well.
- 49:56Speaker 2: I mean, but that probably plays a part of me.
- 49:58Speaker 2: You think it had eighty three earlier this year. Yeah,
- 50:01Speaker 2: the circumstances surrounding that game where a little wonky. But
- 50:04Speaker 2: stop saying that he had eighty three. I just yeah,
- 50:08Speaker 2: I mean, that's a foolish thing to say. If you
- 50:09Speaker 2: can get Victor Wimbanyama instead of BAM out of BYO,
- 50:12Speaker 2: you do that.
- 50:14Speaker 1: I like the fact that he's putting all the confidence
- 50:16Speaker 1: in the world in BAM. I like that, the fact
- 50:19Speaker 1: that he really really likes him and wants him to
- 50:23Speaker 1: stay there. Now, if I'm the agent of BAM, I'm thinking, Wow, Okay,
- 50:28Speaker 1: then we're gonna be talking some serious money. If you
- 50:31Speaker 1: want Bam to stay in Miami that much, that long.
- 50:34Speaker 1: You know what, let's renegotiate this contract right now.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Bam doesn't need the money though, that's a thing not
- 50:41Speaker 2: the poor agent does. He's earned plenty of money in
- 50:45Speaker 2: his lifetime. He's dating Asia Wilson, who just got a
- 50:48Speaker 2: five million dollar contract in the WNBA. He's gonna be
- 50:52Speaker 2: just five.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I think that's cool that they're dating like that, and
- 50:54Speaker 1: she's a pretty young lady. I mean, good for Bam.
- 50:57Speaker 2: You've also got Wendell Carter Junior dating Angel Rees. Yeah.
- 51:02Speaker 1: Okay, that's too bad. Really, Yeah, yeah, that's that's not okay,
- 51:08Speaker 1: she's too controversial to me. Please keep your mouth shut
- 51:12Speaker 1: and just play basketball. Okay, so I know, but get
- 51:18Speaker 1: your what me bounds? Oh yeah, please stop. Uh let's
- 51:23Speaker 1: move to football for a little bit.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Uh.
- 51:25Speaker 1: There is a Texas Tech transfer quarterback named Brendan Soresby.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Have you seen this story? All right? So right now
- 51:33Speaker 1: he is being investigated by the NCAA for making thousands
- 51:37Speaker 1: of bets via a gambling app, and then yesterday they
- 51:43Speaker 1: made the announcement that he is checking into a residential
- 51:47Speaker 1: treatment program for gambling addiction. I saw that, and I thought, Okay,
- 51:52Speaker 1: I'm not making fun of him, But didn't he just
- 51:56Speaker 1: admit And why is the NCAA investigating him now? Because
- 52:00Speaker 1: he just fully admitted what he's doing.
- 52:04Speaker 2: So this story is I don't know what to think
- 52:08Speaker 2: about it because I've always been of the mindset that,
- 52:12Speaker 2: regardless of if you're an athlete or not, you should
- 52:15Speaker 2: be able to bet. Just don't bet on games that
- 52:18Speaker 2: you're partaking in. Michael, I mean, what do you want
- 52:21Speaker 2: me to do with that? Did You're pointing in the
- 52:24Speaker 2: middle of my response and I don't know what you're
- 52:26Speaker 2: pointing at.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Just use your words, Okay, use your word. That was
- 52:29Speaker 1: one of myne.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Okay, that's all I had to say. No, I don't
- 52:34Speaker 2: even know where I was going with. Oh No, I
- 52:36Speaker 2: mean Brendan Soresby, what he's doing is what thousands of
- 52:40Speaker 2: thousands of people across the country are doing. I mean,
- 52:43Speaker 2: I what did they worded, a steady, steady influx of
- 52:47Speaker 2: bets or of small bets?
- 52:48Speaker 1: I don't basically a steady diet.
- 52:50Speaker 2: I don't remember how they worded it. But it's okay,
- 52:52Speaker 2: it's it's exactly what I do. Like, I'm not checking
- 52:56Speaker 2: myself into a facility. I've got several friends that gamble
- 53:00Speaker 2: way more than me, so they're not checking themselfs.
- 53:02Speaker 1: So you think the fact that he's checking into a
- 53:05Speaker 1: resident I've never heard of a residential addiction center. But
- 53:10Speaker 1: so you think that he's doing that is not sincere.
- 53:13Speaker 1: He's only doing it in hopes that the NCAA gives
- 53:17Speaker 1: him mercy, and.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Texas Tech is making him that's the way.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Again, then it's not sincere.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I can agree with that, but I
- 53:27Speaker 2: think it's one of those things where Texas Tech pushed
- 53:29Speaker 2: him that way to like, hey, let's let's say face here.
- 53:32Speaker 2: Let's make it look like you're actually trying and you
- 53:35Speaker 2: really care about your gambling addiction. Look, kid has millions
- 53:38Speaker 2: of dollars he's been he's part of the nil with
- 53:41Speaker 2: college football. He's making a bunch bunch of money. And
- 53:44Speaker 2: if he wants to spend that trying to make more money,
- 53:47Speaker 2: then I'm not gonna hate on him for that. Here's
- 53:49Speaker 2: the deal. The dude was betting. He was a freshman,
- 53:53Speaker 2: the red shirt freshman at Indiana. He was betting on
- 53:56Speaker 2: Indiana football, and they said in the article he was
- 53:59Speaker 2: never better on them to lose, it was always to win.
- 54:01Speaker 2: So very much the Pete Rose thing kids a moron.
- 54:05Speaker 2: If you're betting on Indiana football to win games and
- 54:08Speaker 2: twenty twenty two, you're very clearly an idiot because there
- 54:11Speaker 2: wasn't a lot of wins. Wasn't a lot of winning
- 54:14Speaker 2: going on.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean, so you think it's okay to
- 54:18Speaker 1: bet on a team even though you're betting on them
- 54:21Speaker 1: to win. Do you think that makes it better or
- 54:24Speaker 1: do you think they should not be allowed to bet
- 54:27Speaker 1: at all.
- 54:27Speaker 2: I've got no problem with it, I mean, especially in
- 54:29Speaker 2: his situation because he wasn't playing. He played in one
- 54:32Speaker 2: game that season.
- 54:33Speaker 1: And so but he still has inside information though.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but inside information doesn't always win to gambling wins.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Doesn't always lead to gambling wins.
- 54:42Speaker 1: It certainly gives you an unfair advantage, though, I don't know.
- 54:46Speaker 1: I'm of the mindset let anybody bet on whatever they want.
- 54:49Speaker 1: I don't really even care, really, I just I when
- 54:52Speaker 1: you see him checking into a center for addiction and
- 54:56Speaker 1: the ncuba's investigating him, I think the NCUBA is wasting
- 54:59Speaker 1: their I mean he's fully admitted that he has a
- 55:04Speaker 1: gambling problem. He has gambled, So what else is there
- 55:07Speaker 1: to investigate?
- 55:09Speaker 2: Yeah, but you could say about that about anyone, right,
- 55:11Speaker 2: anybody that gambles has a gambling issue, that's not the case.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Diego Pavia your favorite quarterback?
- 55:20Speaker 2: Anybody else want to come in and talk with me
- 55:22Speaker 2: like that? Because I don't really want to do the
- 55:24Speaker 2: whole Diego Pavia thing.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Invited by the Ravens to Roocky mini camp.
- 55:29Speaker 2: So he can learn how to fumble from one?
- 55:31Speaker 1: What do you think about the Oh my gosh, nice call.
- 55:36Speaker 1: I like that one. Okay, what do you think about
- 55:39Speaker 1: about him being invited? Do you think it's a complete
- 55:42Speaker 1: waste of time for him?
- 55:43Speaker 2: I mean it feels it absolutely is a waste of
- 55:45Speaker 2: time for him. There is no world where he makes
- 55:47Speaker 2: the team I think of anything? Is this is a
- 55:50Speaker 2: move from the Ravens like a almost like a publicity stunt. Right,
- 55:54Speaker 2: everybody's talking about Diego Pavia. Let's let's bring him in.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Give this kid a shot, now, I say that. And
- 56:02Speaker 2: he is very much like Lamar Jackson the way he
- 56:06Speaker 2: he uses his legs. He can throw the ball at
- 56:09Speaker 2: a pretty good clip their backup quarterback. I don't even
- 56:12Speaker 2: remember who it is at this juncture, but he's very
- 56:14Speaker 2: much the same way, so I don't know. If nothing else,
- 56:16Speaker 2: maybe it'll help Diego Pavia learn a little bit more
- 56:19Speaker 2: about professional football, which ultimately has him land in the
- 56:22Speaker 2: UFL and.
- 56:24Speaker 1: See that's probably there, or a Winnipeg of the Canadian
- 56:29Speaker 1: Football League. Yeah, might Blue Bombers exactly? Is that who
- 56:33Speaker 1: they are? You knew they're the Blue Bombers. How the
- 56:36Speaker 1: heck did you load that? Pretty Bombers? Wow? I'm impressed. Okay,
- 56:42Speaker 1: I did not know that. But anyway, but there's a
- 56:47Speaker 1: chance he'll do that or uh, there's also the chance
- 56:54Speaker 1: that a lot of people have been talking about, because
- 56:55Speaker 1: he loves wrestling, that he would be the perfect heel
- 57:00Speaker 1: for WWE. Now we're talking, okay, so you like that.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Now we are.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Getting good ideas out there about Diego Pavia. No more
- 57:08Speaker 2: of this. He should be in the NFL bogus, because
- 57:11Speaker 2: he shouldn't. If he wants to pursue football, that's fine.
- 57:14Speaker 2: Go to the UFL, go to the CFL, be successful
- 57:16Speaker 2: in one of those leagues. WWE that is his ticket.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Now we are talking I agree with you. I think
- 57:24Speaker 2: one thousand percent he would be an awesome heel.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Okay, good, well, all right, so you don't like him
- 57:29Speaker 1: even in the Canadian Football League, you think you should.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Just I mean, if he wants to play football, then
- 57:35Speaker 2: go play football. I don't have any issues with that.
- 57:37Speaker 2: But you're not going to make it in the NFL.
- 57:38Speaker 2: But I do think I think the.
- 57:41Speaker 1: More you say he's not going to make it in
- 57:43Speaker 1: the NFL, the more he probably is like, I'm going
- 57:45Speaker 1: to make the NFL.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Because he's listening to just the cat.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I think he's got a lot of people that are
- 57:50Speaker 1: talking out there saying I am not going to make
- 57:54Speaker 1: football NFL, so therefore I am going to make the NFL.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Michael, I'm never gonna be a jockey in the Kentucky Derby.
- 58:00Speaker 1: But I don't you don't know that you certainly got
- 58:02Speaker 1: the height.
- 58:02Speaker 2: I don't sit here and think to myself, Man, one day,
- 58:05Speaker 2: you're gonna be a jockey in the Kentucky Derby.
- 58:07Speaker 1: You gotta stay off the fireball.
- 58:08Speaker 2: It's just unrealistic. You got you gotta keep your expectations
- 58:12Speaker 2: in check. And for him to think that he could
- 58:14Speaker 2: potentially make it in the NFL. I think it's foolish.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Okay, all right, then screwed you. Oh my gosh, I
- 58:21Speaker 1: just I don't get why you're so hateful towards this guy.
- 58:24Speaker 2: But did you see what he said after the draft?
- 58:27Speaker 2: He ran it back? What he said to the Heisman voters.
- 58:31Speaker 2: I missed that the NFL?
- 58:33Speaker 1: Yeah, like dude, yeah, come on, yeah, it's ridiculous. He
- 58:38Speaker 1: made it. I mean, what is going on?
- 58:43Speaker 2: Not even in uniform?
- 58:45Speaker 1: Roy Price, everybody. I just want you to know he's here.
- 58:48Speaker 1: He has made it, he has landed. How much time
- 58:51Speaker 1: do we have till we have to take a break. Well, well,
- 58:53Speaker 1: we won't go through the list yet because we got
- 58:55Speaker 1: to take a break. Well, no, we could go through
- 58:57Speaker 1: the list. How mean you got today?
- 58:59Speaker 3: I've got eleven? Okay, we's go to eleven.
- 59:02Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 59:03Speaker 1: Should we go ahead and do the eleven or should
- 59:05Speaker 1: we wait till after Tuesday?
- 59:06Speaker 2: I'm not making decisions today.
- 59:08Speaker 3: Oh okay, we can wait.
- 59:10Speaker 1: You are the producer. This is your literally your job
- 59:13Speaker 1: to make those decisions.
- 59:14Speaker 2: No, I'm not doing it today.
- 59:16Speaker 1: I say wait, okay, we wait.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Then we'll wait.
- 59:20Speaker 1: All right, Uh, Corey, I will ask you though, because
- 59:22Speaker 1: I do want to hear from your perspective, Tyrone Stokes,
- 59:26Speaker 1: how sick are you of the story?
- 59:30Speaker 3: It's getting pretty close to getting pretty sick. I feel
- 59:33Speaker 3: like he's been a day away from making his announcement
- 59:37Speaker 3: the last month, So I'm honestly, I'm sorry for it
- 59:41Speaker 3: to be over. Even if he doesn't pick us, I
- 59:45Speaker 3: just want to move on, honestly.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Yeah, where are you with him? What is your prediction
- 59:52Speaker 1: as far as where he's going to commit to?
- 59:55Speaker 3: I feel like if he was going to pick us,
- 59:56Speaker 3: he would have picked us by now, so.
- 59:58Speaker 1: You think so?
- 59:59Speaker 2: But what not the case with the other two as well? Though, Like,
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: wouldn't they have the same argument? Can't? Couldn't you imagine
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Kansas fans and Oregon fans both saying the same thing.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: If he was gonna pick us, he already would have.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: I don't think the kid's ready to make a decision.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: I think he's down to uh, Kansas and or Oregon. Honestly, yeah,
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: I do too.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: And once if he does decide, go somewhere else besides Kentucky.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Where does Mark Poco from here?
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Great question?
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: I know this is a obviously this is a make
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: or break season, have a new ad coming in July,
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: so he's gonna have to make a great first impression.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: His first two years have not been great. They've been okay,
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: but not great. So we're used to having great coaches,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: so he's gotta have to put up or shut up,
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: as they say.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I hope he does so well. Well, we're gonna see.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: But uh, all right, let's go ahead. We'll take an
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: early break right now. Follow to four one four fourteen
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: fifty if you want to text in, or you can
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: h on the Whiskey Thief text line. We can't call
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: in today. We can't call in any of this week,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: which is a real you know, can.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: May do tomorrow when we're in studio because it's so rainy.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Oh we're gonna be in studio tomorrow maybe, but nobody
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: told me that.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: I'm just saying the weather looks pretty gross.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I'm here, I mean, I'm here all week. I want
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: to be here, so all right, well we'll see what happens.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Whatever you tell me to do. I mean, you might
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: as well just say, Michael, Phil my dame is justin Bennett.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Because you're acting like a wife.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Michael feels like one of those kids has just got
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: told he can't go to hall exactly.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: I want to be here. This is why we're here
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: all week. I mean we're gonna be here other than
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: other than people that stop in front of our tent
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: and talk really loud. I mean, that's what I want
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: to do. I want to be here.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: If it's a day lose though, I'm not coming.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Okay, all right, then, well we'll be here anyway. Five two, four,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: one four fourteen fifty We'll be right back. This is
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: just a cats can I can I just have a
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: little fun and talk to other people every now and then.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: No, you've got to be present for your radios.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Okay, I'll be president much to No, it's not at all,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: but uh, every now and then I get distracted. People
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: are around here I don't get to see very often,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: and I'll go talk to him. So maybe I should
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: have them on with us too, but I won't do that.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: But you know it's Tuesday. Are you ready? Do we
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: have music to take me away? Oh my gosh, please
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: now now please now? No, no, no, let's not do
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: that's all right. Corey Price is with us. Oh my gosh, man,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: that was horrible.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Scooch's voice is a combo of Fergie and Jesus.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: That's right, Cory. My gosh, does he get the reference though? Yeah, Okay,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: seen that movie one hundred times. Fergie and Jesus, that
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: is one of the greatest. Like, do you think that
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: was written or do you think that was ad?
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: That's gotta be improv.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: See, I think guys.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Yeah, Will Ferrell is one of the kings of improv.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but in that movie, John c Riley was the
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: king of that one. I think he was a lot
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: funnier than Will Farrell.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: It's close.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I mean I think that with that movie. I think
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: that also with Talladega Knights. I think John c Riley
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: was a thousand times funnier than Will Ferrell in that
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Shake and Bake exactly.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: This week, Aple twenty six through May second Sorry off
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: APRA twenty six, nineteen eighty five. Great year, By the way,
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: The teen comedy film Just One of the Guys is
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: releasing theaters. Scoots I'm Gonna Go with a No No,

- 1:19:55Speaker 1: listening and to think about it. Look, we're right here,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: steps with it, where the track. This is happening on Saturday.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: I mean to me, I just I cannot get enough
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: of it. Yes, when it comes to horse racing, I'm
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: a geek about this, and I know it's ridiculous. And
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: having a nice conversation out here with a young lady
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: that is a jockey agent and she and she's doing
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: a phenomenal job, and she's telling me you're doing all
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: the right things, and it's just like wow, man, I
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: loved I just love talking about this kind of stuff.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: And I know not everybody's into it.
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: I have zero goosebumps because I didn't hear it.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: It was just street. Oh yeah, yeah, I love that
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: you said this. Josh texted out Michael. It's been a
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: while since I've been around. Oh no, I read that earlier.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: UFL needs to give Pavia a small bag. Now get
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: him on the field. Just bring some extra eyes to
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: UFL for a small window of time.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: If that means his mom is in the fold, then
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: oh geez, here.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: We go with the mom again. And they've been playing
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: that UK Vanderbilt game now for the last what two
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: weeks because of his mom dancing on the rail. I mean,
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: it was probably one of the most unattractive things I've seen.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Couldn't disagree, Okay, couldn't disagree more?
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: All right, Then I hear what you're saying. All right.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: So one of the big events for the Kentucky Derby
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: is happening today. The golf hole in one fun finalist, Yes.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: One of my I guess he would be my second cousin, right,
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: got a hole in one and qualifying, so he gets
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: to participate. The craziest thing about it, that's too bad.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: His dad was a huge golfer, right, massive golfer he
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: recently passed I'd say, probably four or five months ago.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: And then he goes into qualifying, hits a hole in
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: one and now he gets an opportunity today to try
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: to win that.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but what are the odds he's gonna win a
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: million dollars? Is the problem to me. I would want
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: to get it closest to it first to qualify and
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: then hit the hole in one.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Which course? Did he get the whole hole in one?
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Do they do it in multiple courses the qualifying.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: I think, don't they do it? They used to do
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: it down there off River Road at Zordan Avenue at
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: the water.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: Tower strokes and no it was.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: It was right there at the water Tower. And I
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: don't know if they do it at different strokes. But
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: the finals, fifty of them have fine, have qualified?
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: This crazy fifty people hit all in one?
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no, just no. They did not
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: hit a hole in one. Not fifty no, maybe not fifty.
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: No way, there was a bunch of holet Really it
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: wasn't fifty. I can tell you that there was a bunch.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: The how you qualified if you didn't hit a hole
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: in one the closest to the pen is who got
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: to qualify? So what they do now is they go
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: to Seneca Park at the golf course and they'll play
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: the par three number eight at Seneca and if no
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: one hits a hole in one, whomever is closest will
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: win five thousand dollars. Nobody's ever won the event.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: I mean there were there were thirteen hole in ones.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Was really from on Thursday the sixteenth and Friday the seventeenth,
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: and then Thursday, on Thursday the twenty third and Friday
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: the twenty fourth, there were thirteen hole.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Easy is a whole. Wow, my goodness, that's what it
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: must be.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: One of those like Augusta par three holes where everything
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: holes trickles down to the hole.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: So it's like a putt.
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: Putt basically, Yeah, some some puttut myself.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: Do you really? Are you a big put putt guy?
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: But I've been going to the one on barcelon Front
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: Creek since I was like eight or nine years old.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Do you know the origin of putt punk cord?
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: I do not know.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: So put putt was initially created for women.
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: Who that's why I love putt, who.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: Couldn't get on the course, so they allowed them to
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: do putt putt And then now it's a huge business.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: What a story.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: Who would have known exactly?
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: I just yes, yeah, yeah, stick around, you'll learn more.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: This is the most well informed radio show in Louisville,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: and why the heck you're not listening to it? Is
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: just crazy to me. But all right, I do want
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: to talk about this. Uh the Cleveland Indians Guardians to
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: say Guardians was playing Tampa Bay last night and uh
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: so one of their players for Cleveland, Daniel Schnevin, hits
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: a home run and a gentleman runs over to get
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: the home run ball only to steal it away from
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: a little girl. That was the controversy last night. How
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: does that happen? How can any grown adult go over there?
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: Then they showed him on camera where the poor girl
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: is crying?
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: Was it Diego?
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: It was SpongeBob?
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Okay, I'm out here, I'm done.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Here's the thing about it, though, Here's what happened. They
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: said on broadcast that they were watching. They didn't show
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: it on TV. But the little her little brother went
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: over to the grown man that took the ball and
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: asked if she he could have it to give to
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: his sister. And supposedly the guy gave it to her
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: and she and he went over there and gave it
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: the ball and she started crying like crazy. So he
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: did the right thing. He did the right thing, but
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: still he did a bad thing. I mean, can you
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: imagine doing what he did? I just don't. I don't
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: relate to people that want to do stuff like that. Yeah, Manners,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I'm right, Yeah, I'm right there with you. Uh, forty
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: eight handly said bow railroads a street since he was
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: number seven. Carl Nafsker, a former bull rider, trained him.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: There is nobody in the city of Louisville. I am
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: convinced at this point that knows more about horse racing
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: than forty eight handling.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you're probably right.
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: The dude knows everything.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Yeah, he should be a guest on our show.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: It's unbelievable.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: Every time he turned around, he's got some tidbit of information.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: Are you looking up something, Corey?
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: I'm gonna horses for Saturday. Since who's your your my
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: my picks? You know, I'm ready.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Let's let's hear your picks, Corey.
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna do a trifecta box.
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: Oh exactly, we're going.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: I'm going names only because I don't know much about horses. Sorry, Bennett, Uh,
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: right to party?
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: Love it? Boys?
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: So happy?
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Oh? I love that. I'm very close to the owners.
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: And let's go with six speed fifty to one.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: So hey, Corey, here's the deal. I like six it hits.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: I like six speed because I drive a six speed. Yeah,
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: but come out of that seventeen post and.
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: Fifty to one not not ideal, but if it hits
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: a lot a lot of money, that's true, a lot
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: of money.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Okay. So, uh, who is your number one horse for
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: the race this weekend? Name alone?
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: I gotta go so so happy? Right?
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I mean, come on, are you really that's amazing that
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: you're doing that.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: Why it's a great name.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: It is a great name just because I I The
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: people that own the horse are very good friends of mine.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: Tell him how why the horse is name so Happy?
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: Right? So so Happy is trained by a man from
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: California named Mark Glatt, who is never happy. He has
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: zero personality, So as a joke, they named the horse
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: the opposite.
- 1:27:19Speaker 10: Mark, Mark glad Glatty. You know, it's g L A
- 1:27:26Speaker 10: T T Mark Glatt. So it's super nice.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: And if the funny part is is uh one of
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: his assistants is his son, who is the complete opposite personality.
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: But it's so happy right now because he's he's been
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: talking to a guest off off air Yeah, what's wrong
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: with that? You're so happy?
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: I am so happy?
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: Where do I get a cynic hill stable hat? I mean?
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: I mean I missed the memo.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: Here, Cory, have you ever worn a hat? Boy?
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: I've never seen you in when was the Nixon administration?
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: That's probably the last time.
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: I Well, then, why are you asking? Where can I
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: get a scene to kill stable? Okay, yeah, that's my
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: little stable. If you want to join scene to kill stable,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: you can do that.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: See how that's why I got one because I wear it. Yeah,
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: you won't get one because you won't wear it.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: It's taking the whole marketing.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: What is your plan this weekend? What are you going
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: to be doing here?
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: Going to a friend's house. They've been hosting a bunch
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: of my friends for the last few years. Just you know, simple,
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: nothing too crazy, throw a few bucks down, you know nothing.
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: Your friend's name is Uh, it's funny. It's Aaron and
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: Aaron a A R O N married e R.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: I an that would be what they what are they
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: named their kids? Aaron? Uh?
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: Could you marry a Cory?
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: If they're hot?
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: Sure?
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: Is there a woman? If they're hot?
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: It's a girl's name for sure. Okay, I never knew that,
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: and that's.
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: Also why I I Putt. Putt Corey is a woman's name.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, man, Okay, I got you. Well, that's
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: that's great. So you're going to their house. Yep, what
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: part of town they live in?
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: Get the address six four seven Maple Lane. I think, uh,
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: high High have you he'll View? I get those two
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: okay mixed up?
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's a big difference right there. It's not
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: like Taylor's.
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: Once again, I'm gonna say it's high View.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: Okay, high View. I know where high View is. Okay, good, Well,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: I help you enjoy it. The one thing I do
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: want to uh well, no, I don't want to talk. Well,
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: I'll save that for tomorrow because I want to tease.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: I know. That's a terrible tease, isn't it, But the
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: worst of teases? Yeah? All right, So do you have
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: a uh do you have a Oaks Horse?
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: Uh? Full disclosure. I have not even seen the list.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: Wow is there a list?
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Handy, No, there is, but you're you're gonna so you're
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: in it like most women do, and pick it by name.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: That's why I love Putt. If there's a horse's named
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: something adjacent to so happy. I'll go with that horse.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: Is there like a always Glad or something? Maybe?
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I I don't know.
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: I mean, that's not a decent name for horse, actually
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: always Glad? Yeah, okay, yeah, but okay, I I could
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: say something, but I'm not going to. I'll just I'll
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: stay away from that. My wife's not listening anyway, so
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: it doesn't matter. By shocker, Yeah, thank you.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: Look at this, she's got the list for uh, let's
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: go as you don't know? Uh, Corey Price has been
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: handed a random phone by someone with the list of
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: the names of the Oh, thank you very participants.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: Let's go horse six prom queen? Why not?
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: All right? Okay, prom queen? It is right because you're

- 1:31:02Speaker 3: Uh never? Actually is there.
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: A connection here? Can we get a connection?
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: Possibly?
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: Okay? Are the are you? Are you the you have

- 1:31:30Speaker 5: at Rider.
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: On the racetrack.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Now, what is the difference between sports manager and jockey agent.
- 1:31:35Speaker 5: I manage their business and I'm an agent, so I
- 1:31:38Speaker 5: speak for them. I line up all their workers, I
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: line up I get them their mounts, I line up
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: their mounts.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: I say yes or no.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: That's a lot of work.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: It's a lot of work.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you do a lot of stuff, all right, Liz.
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: So you're the representative of the jockey that is on Incredibolt. Yes, correct,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: which is one of my picks. Oh that's a great

- 1:32:31Speaker 1: going to be at the backside.
