- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Almost Famous Podcast. It's Ben and
- 0:08Speaker 2: Deanna back to chat with the runner-up from Let's Marry Harry. Today,
- 0:14Speaker 2: we're connecting with Danelle.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Hi, Danelle. Thank you for joining us today. Ben, mostly Ben,
- 0:21Speaker 3: but me, we're so excited that you could come because
- 0:25Speaker 3: myself and our producer heather have been following the show
- 0:28Speaker 3: and i know that we have you guys for a
- 0:30Speaker 3: short period of time today and i have so many
- 0:33Speaker 3: questions i don't know how that i'm gonna get everything
- 0:36Speaker 3: um answered.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna jump off from the beginning here because i
- 0:39Speaker 2: know diana has a lot of questions like details and
- 0:42Speaker 2: digging into stuff and i was just on social media
- 0:44Speaker 2: and there's an argument going on on social media that
- 0:47Speaker 2: i want to ask you specifically about okay danelle Do
- 0:50Speaker 2: you think Harry actually wanted to find a wife?
- 0:54Speaker 4: That's the million dollar question, isn't it? You know, I
- 0:58Speaker 4: think he does want a wife. I'm just not sure
- 1:01Speaker 4: if he's ready. I think deep down he, you know,
- 1:05Speaker 4: he did everything that he could to prepare for it.
- 1:07Speaker 4: His friends were saying, you know, he was reading all
- 1:09Speaker 4: these books and doing all these things, talking to his
- 1:12Speaker 4: like married friends, like getting advice before, like to prepare
- 1:14Speaker 4: himself for the show. I think he really did want
- 1:17Speaker 4: to find a wife. I don't know if he's ready.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I have to ask something kind of tough to know.
- 1:23Speaker 3: We had Amber on the podcast yesterday. All is well,
- 1:28Speaker 3: but at the reunion, you said that you think Harry
- 1:31Speaker 3: chose her over you because she was the safe option.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Do you still stand by that?
- 1:38Speaker 4: You know, I think that actually kind of ties into
- 1:40Speaker 4: Ben's question. I think you see in the show, you know,
- 1:44Speaker 4: Amber's a little more hesitant about getting married where I
- 1:48Speaker 4: was like, Yes, I am ready. A thousand percent. No question.
- 1:51Speaker 4: And I think he realized that maybe he wasn't ready
- 1:57Speaker 4: and maybe Amber was also a little unsure. So I
- 2:01Speaker 4: think that that's why he went that route rather than
- 2:04Speaker 4: picking the girl that he knew that was a thousand
- 2:07Speaker 4: percent for sure ready to marry him when he wasn't
- 2:10Speaker 4: ready himself for sure. So why marry me to break
- 2:14Speaker 4: my heart that way? I would rather him have not
- 2:16Speaker 4: married me and broke my heart the way he did.
- 2:18Speaker 4: than to marry me and then break my heart because
- 2:21Speaker 4: he's not ready.
- 2:23Speaker 3: So here's what, you know, as a, as a viewer,
- 2:26Speaker 3: I was really thrown off because it is let's marry Harry.
- 2:30Speaker 3: And Amber is using the word marriage a lot, but
- 2:35Speaker 3: early on online, we saw that it is not a
- 2:38Speaker 3: legally binding contract. And so, you know, At the reunion,
- 2:45Speaker 3: I heard her talk about we were married, our honeymoon,
- 2:47Speaker 3: all of these things. I just, I'm unsure how to
- 2:53Speaker 3: feel about that.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I didn't know that it wasn't legal
- 3:00Speaker 4: until like they announced that. So when I was going
- 3:06Speaker 4: into my wedding day that day, I thought that it
- 3:10Speaker 4: was also a legal wedding. That's the impression that I
- 3:13Speaker 4: was under. So I think that in her mindset, she's
- 3:19Speaker 4: valid for thinking like, well, this is what we're signing
- 3:23Speaker 4: up for. We're signing up to get married. So of course,
- 3:26Speaker 4: we're married. They had the paperwork. The fact that they
- 3:30Speaker 4: didn't file anything, though, I think kind of says a lot, too.
- 3:35Speaker 4: So I don't know.
- 3:37Speaker 3: But it got a little sticky because at the reunion,
- 3:40Speaker 3: when she was talking about all of this and leaving Australia,
- 3:42Speaker 3: and then the two of you connected after the show,
- 3:44Speaker 3: you and Harry, she very much, it appears that she
- 3:49Speaker 3: feels betrayed by you both given that situation. And I
- 3:54Speaker 3: know that you've done several podcasts and I've heard you
- 3:57Speaker 3: share that you didn't quite know. You trusted Harry, right?
- 4:00Speaker 3: He said, we are not together.
- 4:02Speaker 4: He told me, I am single.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:05Speaker 4: So what am I supposed to? Yeah. My whole thing
- 4:08Speaker 4: on that is I was so in love with that
- 4:11Speaker 4: man and he's telling me that he's single. He wants
- 4:14Speaker 4: to see me. Why would I second guess him? If
- 4:17Speaker 4: I was going to marry him, I should be able
- 4:19Speaker 4: to believe him and take his word, you know? And
- 4:23Speaker 4: also like now looking back, it's like I was maybe
- 4:28Speaker 4: gaslit by Harry.
- 4:31Speaker 3: So was Amber.
- 4:32Speaker 4: So, you know, I think we both were kind of
- 4:39Speaker 4: just wronged. We were wronged.
- 4:42Speaker 3: All right, Danelle, this is something that we dove in
- 4:46Speaker 3: about on the podcast, the situation with you and Harry
- 4:49Speaker 3: in the closet. And I'm wondering, what did you think
- 4:53Speaker 3: when you watched the episode? Where you and Harry actually
- 4:56Speaker 3: go in the closet and they played that audio? This
- 5:00Speaker 3: was a huge topic of conversation for us because My producer, Heather,
- 5:03Speaker 3: and I did not feel like the audio actually fit.
- 5:06Speaker 3: And then we dissected the fact that when you get
- 5:07Speaker 3: out of the bed, you still have your tennis shoes on.
- 5:10Speaker 3: So we were really debating what went down with that.
- 5:14Speaker 3: And so we're just wondering what you thought and when
- 5:18Speaker 3: you watched it back and how you felt.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yeah, when I watched it, I was cringing and my
- 5:25Speaker 4: jaw was on the ground. I was like, I can't believe...
- 5:29Speaker 4: the way that this is looking like, this is not
- 5:31Speaker 4: what it was, you know, but you know, at the
- 5:35Speaker 4: same time I get it, it is what it is.
- 5:37Speaker 4: But yeah, the auto audio that was over it was
- 5:41Speaker 4: definitely not my audio. I don't know who that was
- 5:45Speaker 4: that they decided to throw that over. Um, but yeah,
- 5:49Speaker 4: you clearly see us like walk into the closet and
- 5:51Speaker 4: you can see the closet door is like a sliding door.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Like when we walk out, we don't even open the door. Like,
- 5:58Speaker 4: The door was already open. We walk out just fully fine.
- 6:02Speaker 4: We were literally in the closet making out. So it
- 6:06Speaker 4: was funny to.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Watch, honestly.
- 6:08Speaker 2: It's so wild when we talk to people who have
- 6:10Speaker 2: been a part of new reality television shows. Danelle, I
- 6:15Speaker 2: don't want to put words or emotions into you, but
- 6:18Speaker 2: obviously we did talk to Amber yesterday. It seems, if
- 6:23Speaker 2: I'm just guessing here, you're doing pretty well.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Now?
- 6:27Speaker 2: It feels like you've, you know, you've moved forward. And
- 6:30Speaker 2: I think that's my question. Have you moved forward from this? And,
- 6:35Speaker 2: and if so, what do you, what do you take
- 6:37Speaker 2: from this whole experience?
- 6:40Speaker 4: I definitely do feel like I've moved on from this
- 6:43Speaker 4: whole experience. Of course, watching all the episodes, watching the
- 6:47Speaker 4: finale was definitely hard. You know, it was mostly just
- 6:52Speaker 4: hurtful to watch myself being hurt like that. you know,
- 6:56Speaker 4: is what really got to me. But ultimately I am
- 7:00Speaker 4: so far moved on from this, like ready to, I've
- 7:05Speaker 4: already closed that chapter. Also something I want to say
- 7:08Speaker 4: with that too, is cause I've seen some comments of
- 7:10Speaker 4: people being like, stop.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Wearing the ring.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Why are you wearing the ring? And I'm like, I
- 7:14Speaker 4: actually don't wear the ring. Why would I be wearing
- 7:17Speaker 4: the ring? Come on, let's be realistic here. I honestly,
- 7:21Speaker 4: even when I went to LA and saw Harry, I
- 7:23Speaker 4: don't even think I wore the ring then. Like, The
- 7:25Speaker 4: ring is, it was just, the ring is done. We're
- 7:29Speaker 4: done talking about the ring.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Where's the ring?
- 7:32Speaker 4: I actually have no idea where it's.
- 7:33Speaker 3: At right now.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I'm going to be so honest. I took it to
- 7:37Speaker 4: LA with me for the reunion. Of course they all,
- 7:39Speaker 4: it was suggested that I bring the ring, you know,
- 7:42Speaker 4: and cause people want to see it for some odd reason,
- 7:44Speaker 4: but yeah. But to answer your other question is, you know,
- 7:49Speaker 4: what I've learned from all of this is just honestly,
- 7:54Speaker 4: I've learned that I actually am very hard on myself
- 7:58Speaker 4: when I shouldn't be. You know, this whole experience, I've
- 8:01Speaker 4: just learned so much. And the girls in the house
- 8:07Speaker 4: were all so amazing too. And at the end of
- 8:10Speaker 4: the day, I've realized, well, I've already known this too.
- 8:13Speaker 4: You know, you got to choose your friends over a man.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Would you do other reality television?
- 8:19Speaker 4: I don't want to say never, but like, am I
- 8:22Speaker 4: a little traumatized still?
- 8:24Speaker 3: Kind of.
- 8:26Speaker 4: It's honestly, it has been like before I did the show,
- 8:30Speaker 4: I only had like 4,000 followers on Instagram. I'm not,
- 8:35Speaker 4: I wasn't ever, you know, being criticized by people on
- 8:38Speaker 4: the internet. And now people want to share their opinion
- 8:40Speaker 4: about every little thing that I've said that have left
- 8:43Speaker 4: my mouth.
- 8:44Speaker 3: And it's hard. It's really hard.
- 8:46Speaker 4: And it's really scary. And it makes it really difficult
- 8:49Speaker 4: to want to voice that. your opinion on things because
- 8:53Speaker 4: you know that you're just going to get backlash, whether.
- 8:55Speaker 3: You're right or wrong.
- 9:07Speaker 2: You know, as we've been following along, it seems like
- 9:09Speaker 2: Harry has moved on from the show too. He has
- 9:12Speaker 2: a girlfriend now. Have you met his girlfriend?
- 9:16Speaker 4: No, I haven't met his girlfriend.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I didn't assume so. If you had met, it was
- 9:21Speaker 2: going to make a great headline. What do you think
- 9:26Speaker 2: of the whole situation?
- 9:27Speaker 4: That he has a girlfriend?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Part of me wants to say I'm not surprised.
- 9:36Speaker 2: In a way.
- 9:37Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't have a comment.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Well, if Harry's moved on, what about you? What's next
- 9:45Speaker 3: for you, Danelle? I am.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I am moved on, but I am single still. I'm
- 9:52Speaker 4: looking for my husband still. I definitely it hasn't scared
- 9:55Speaker 4: me away from wanting to look for my husband and date.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I just haven't. found him yet.
- 10:01Speaker 2: You know, in today's world, Deanna and I are a
- 10:03Speaker 2: little bit removed from this. Obviously, we're just talking about.
- 10:07Speaker 3: You are removed from this, Ben. I guess you're right
- 10:09Speaker 3: back in it. I am not removed from this. You are. Okay.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So, Danelle, share some dating advice. Where do you plan
- 10:15Speaker 2: on meeting your husband? Outside of reality television, because I
- 10:18Speaker 2: don't think we're talking... Well... Y'all might be into that.
- 10:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Listen, maybe Danelle needs to come on over to our
- 10:25Speaker 3: sister podcast, Famously Available.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Oh, no, I honestly, I'm not a big dater. Like
- 10:33Speaker 4: I don't do like dating sites or anything like that.
- 10:36Speaker 4: I feel like I'm hoping to just meet my person
- 10:39Speaker 4: like organically. Somewhere that I'm, I don't know, just meet
- 10:45Speaker 4: him out with the people that I normally hang out with.
- 10:47Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Not somebody that is so.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Over here and I'm over here. And then we're trying
- 10:52Speaker 4: to like merge our two worlds together. Like, I just
- 10:55Speaker 4: feel like we'll be at the same place at the
- 10:57Speaker 4: same time and it'll just work out.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Like perusing the broccoli section at Whole Foods.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 11:04Speaker 3: That's my dream. Like that's where I want to just
- 11:06Speaker 3: be looking at all the greenery and a man to
- 11:08Speaker 3: come over and be like, oh my gosh, doesn't this
- 11:11Speaker 3: head of broccoli look perfect?
- 11:13Speaker 4: No, it's like you both reach for the same bag
- 11:15Speaker 4: of broccoli.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:16Speaker 4: And you touch hands.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 2: You know where you can find Deanna at in her
- 11:21Speaker 2: local Whole Foods is standing at the broccoli aisle looking
- 11:25Speaker 2: left and right for hours at a time. Danelle, as
- 11:29Speaker 2: we close up with you here, Danelle, we've chatted about
- 11:32Speaker 2: the whole experience. We've chatted about the ups and downs.
- 11:35Speaker 2: You've been a little bit removed from this show, but
- 11:38Speaker 2: we always like to, especially in dating shows here on
- 11:41Speaker 2: the Almost Famous Podcast, ask anybody who's who has had
- 11:44Speaker 2: an emotional experience when it comes to reality TV, because
- 11:48Speaker 2: it is hard and it is isolating at times and
- 11:50Speaker 2: it does feel confusing for all the listeners out there.
- 11:55Speaker 2: How are you doing in closing here? How can people
- 12:00Speaker 2: support you or find you, you know, in whatever you're
- 12:03Speaker 2: up to next?
- 12:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I don't know what's to come. I'm
- 12:08Speaker 4: excited and hopefully it's something exciting. You know, I've seen
- 12:11Speaker 4: a lot of comments of people being like, next bachelorette,
- 12:14Speaker 4: let's marry Danelle. Like they think that I'm deserving of
- 12:18Speaker 4: finding love, which is nice, you know? And I also
- 12:21Speaker 4: do want to say too, I do go in and
- 12:23Speaker 4: I read my message requests and I've gotten so many
- 12:27Speaker 4: nice messages from girls, you know, being understanding of like,
- 12:31Speaker 4: you were following your heart.
- 12:32Speaker 3: You thought that he loved you.
- 12:34Speaker 4: So it is really comforting to just see those nice messages.
- 12:37Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't know what's going to come next.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Well, whatever it is, we are rooting for you. We
- 12:45Speaker 2: hope for the best. We want every human who goes
- 12:48Speaker 2: through the wild experience of reality television to come out
- 12:51Speaker 2: on the other side better for it. Thanks for joining
- 12:55Speaker 2: us on the Almost Famous Podcast. It means a lot.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Thank you guys so much for having me.
