- 0:14Speaker 1: Well, hey, praise the Lord. I am Michael Jackson. Welcome
- 0:16Speaker 1: to The Bible Speaks Live. This is our Hot Topic Tuesday.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We're glad you could join us here tonight as we continue.
- 0:22Speaker 1: We've been gone for a few months, but we are
- 0:24Speaker 1: here to continue in our series entitled Very Straight Talk
- 0:29Speaker 1: on This Great Salvation. Amen. Amen. we're going to be
- 0:32Speaker 1: talking about and getting into a lot of different subjects
- 0:36Speaker 1: concerning this salvation, this great salvation, as the book of
- 0:39Speaker 1: Hebrews puts it. There's much to be talked about at
- 0:43Speaker 1: some point in time. As we get into this series,
- 0:45Speaker 1: we'll be talking about the vocabulary of salvation. But tonight,
- 0:50Speaker 1: we are going to be talking about just how are
- 0:52Speaker 1: we saved, just how we are saved. We're going to
- 0:55Speaker 1: be going over some material that we went over previously
- 0:59Speaker 1: before our... hiatus, but that's okay. But we will definitely
- 1:06Speaker 1: be getting into some things that I believe are worth
- 1:11Speaker 1: our time, amen, because this great salvation is greater than
- 1:17Speaker 1: we know. How saved are we, amen? And that's important
- 1:21Speaker 1: that we understand just how saved we are and just
- 1:25Speaker 1: how we got here, amen? And so it's very important
- 1:29Speaker 1: that we understand these things as we get into this
- 1:33Speaker 1: series tonight. We are streaming live over Facebook and YouTube,
- 1:37Speaker 1: Facebook times two, and also on our YouTube channel, which
- 1:40Speaker 1: is That's The Word Ministries, our ministry page on Facebook,
- 1:43Speaker 1: which is also That's The Word Ministries. Amen. If you
- 1:47Speaker 1: don't mind, if you are watching us over Facebook, you
- 1:49Speaker 1: could share this page out and others also may be blessed. Amen.
- 1:53Speaker 1: So God is moving. God is on the throne and
- 1:56Speaker 1: we honor him and we trust him and we thank
- 1:58Speaker 1: him for all that he is doing in our midst.
- 2:03Speaker 1: We can gladly report that he is, our God is
- 2:08Speaker 1: a miracle working God. Amen. And we honor him and
- 2:11Speaker 1: we thank him for all that he is and for
- 2:13Speaker 1: all that he has done. Amen. Alrighty. With all that said,
- 2:19Speaker 1: we're going to get right into, we're going to get
- 2:21Speaker 1: right into the word of God here tonight. Let me
- 2:24Speaker 1: just say that all of our podcasts or webcasts from
- 2:29Speaker 1: here on in, will be on Spreaker.com. We're not live
- 2:35Speaker 1: on Spreaker, but all of our webcasts will be on Spreaker.com,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and they will be available there for download if you
- 2:44Speaker 1: would like to listen in. If you would like to
- 2:46Speaker 1: listen to these podcasts again, you'll be able to do
- 2:49Speaker 1: so by going over to Spreaker.com and typing in my name,
- 2:55Speaker 1: Michael Jakes, Pastor Michael Jakes, or type in any one
- 2:59Speaker 1: of the name of our programs, whether it's the Line
- 3:02Speaker 1: by Line webcast, whether it's the Sunday Sermon Series or
- 3:09Speaker 1: our Hot Topic Tuesday, just type in any one of
- 3:12Speaker 1: those titles on Spreaker and that should bring us, bring
- 3:16Speaker 1: you right to where we are. Amen. Alrighty. So having
- 3:19Speaker 1: said that, we are going to pray as we always do.
- 3:22Speaker 1: We're going to get right into our study for this evening. Amen.
- 3:26Speaker 1: So Lord, we bless your name. We honor you. We
- 3:27Speaker 1: thank you. Lord, once again, you've given us the opportunity, Lord,
- 3:32Speaker 1: to open up your word, Lord Jesus. It's not something
- 3:36Speaker 1: that we take lightly, Lord. We know that your word
- 3:39Speaker 1: continues to be a lamp unto our feet and a
- 3:42Speaker 1: light unto our path, Lord Jesus. Lord, we know that
- 3:45Speaker 1: we can do nothing without you, and I pray that
- 3:48Speaker 1: as we are in your word tonight, that, Lord, you
- 3:51Speaker 1: will speak, Lord Jesus, that you will have your way
- 3:54Speaker 1: and draw those who need to hear these words to
- 3:56Speaker 1: this place. Whether it's live, whether it's on the replay, Lord,
- 3:59Speaker 1: even on Spreaker, Lord, draw those who need to hear
- 4:03Speaker 1: what we are speaking about here at this time, Lord Jesus.
- 4:06Speaker 1: We believe that it's timely. We believe it's what you
- 4:08Speaker 1: would have us to speak at this time. So, Lord,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we pray that you would have your way. Speak to
- 4:13Speaker 1: our hearts and speak to those who will be under
- 4:15Speaker 1: the sound of your word here at this time. Lord,
- 4:17Speaker 1: we bless you. We thank you. In Jesus' name, amen
- 4:20Speaker 1: and amen. Well, hallelujah. Amen. God is good. Amen. God
- 4:25Speaker 1: is very good. He is so good. Amen. Alrighty. As
- 4:29Speaker 1: I said, some of this material we previously spoke about
- 4:35Speaker 1: several months ago, a couple of months ago. And so
- 4:37Speaker 1: this is going to be a little bit of a refresher,
- 4:39Speaker 1: a little bit of a refresher for those of you
- 4:41Speaker 1: who were with us. If you were not with us,
- 4:44Speaker 1: then you will be hearing some of these things here
- 4:47Speaker 1: for the first time. But here's what I know. It's
- 4:49Speaker 1: never the same. It's never the same. When you, quote,
- 4:52Speaker 1: do something that you've done before, it's never done the
- 4:56Speaker 1: same way. I found that to be very true because
- 5:01Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit works in a different way every time.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You put one scripture verse in front of you and
- 5:09Speaker 1: you believe that it's all going to come out the same. No,
- 5:11Speaker 1: it's not. No, it's not. So that's what we believe
- 5:16Speaker 1: is going to be the case here at this point
- 5:18Speaker 1: in time. though we have gone over these things previously,
- 5:24Speaker 1: for me, it's like the first time. For me, it
- 5:27Speaker 1: is like the first time, amen? All righty, so as
- 5:30Speaker 1: I said, tonight, we're going to be talking about very
- 5:34Speaker 1: straight talk on this great salvation and just how, just
- 5:40Speaker 1: how are we saved, amen? That's the topic. And when
- 5:46Speaker 1: you get right down to it, here's what we know, okay?
- 5:53Speaker 1: We've talked about this great salvation. And once again, we've
- 5:56Speaker 1: tried to make this as interactive as possible for those
- 5:59Speaker 1: who are watching. And so you can follow along with
- 6:02Speaker 1: what you see on the screen. I may not go
- 6:06Speaker 1: word for word with what is on the screen, but
- 6:08Speaker 1: know that everything that's being said has merit and has
- 6:14Speaker 1: meaning and is based on what you are seeing. So
- 6:18Speaker 1: we've talked about this great salvation today. and its nature.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And now we're going to be looking at just how
- 6:23Speaker 1: we received this great salvation. Uh, and we're going to
- 6:26Speaker 1: be getting into the weeds. Okay. Uh, but there are
- 6:29Speaker 1: some things that you may not know about this great salvation. Okay.
- 6:33Speaker 1: First of all, as doctrine, uh, we have what we
- 6:37Speaker 1: call non-essentials and non-essentials are just that. In other words,
- 6:42Speaker 1: believers do not agree on any one of them, the
- 6:45Speaker 1: non on the non-essentials. And we're going to be talking
- 6:48Speaker 1: about the non-essentials, uh, And there should be no problem
- 6:51Speaker 1: because they don't affect our salvation. That's why they are
- 6:54Speaker 1: called non-essentials, okay? There's something that someone once said many,
- 7:00Speaker 1: many years ago. It may have been Augustine. It may
- 7:04Speaker 1: have been someone else. But here's what they said. They said,
- 7:07Speaker 1: in essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, charity. Okay,
- 7:16Speaker 1: I'll say that again. In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty,
- 7:22Speaker 1: but in all things, charity. And I think that is
- 7:26Speaker 1: a very good mantra to go by when it comes
- 7:30Speaker 1: to essentials versus non-essentials. But the fact is that we all,
- 7:35Speaker 1: as believers, do not agree on the non-essentials because, once again,
- 7:41Speaker 1: they don't affect our salvation. In other words, the non-essentials,
- 7:46Speaker 1: they should not divide us. the body of Christ. But
- 7:51Speaker 1: here's the thing now. Now, if we don't agree on
- 7:55Speaker 1: the essentials, if we don't agree on those things that
- 7:59Speaker 1: make us who we are as believers, as Christians in Christ,
- 8:03Speaker 1: then we have a problem, okay? That matters, okay? If
- 8:07Speaker 1: we cannot agree, if we as believers cannot agree on
- 8:10Speaker 1: the nature of salvation and how we are saved, then
- 8:15Speaker 1: that is actually highly problematic. And it's troubling. It's quite
- 8:21Speaker 1: troubling when that is the case. And unfortunately, that is
- 8:25Speaker 1: the case, okay? Now, the fact is that we, when
- 8:34Speaker 1: we don't agree, we don't all agree on how salvation happens, okay?
- 8:42Speaker 1: Is it through repentance? Is it through repentance alone? Is
- 8:48Speaker 1: it through faith alone? Is it through both? Are we
- 8:54Speaker 1: to say some sort of a sinner's prayer? Or is
- 8:58Speaker 1: a sinner's prayer necessary at all? Now, I am sure
- 9:03Speaker 1: that the Lord doesn't want us confused over these truths,
- 9:05Speaker 1: but okay, let's talk about what the essentials are. The essentials, okay?
- 9:14Speaker 1: Here are the essentials where there should not be There
- 9:18Speaker 1: should not be, and I'm putting that in boldface in
- 9:23Speaker 1: my speech, there should not be any discrepancy amongst believers
- 9:29Speaker 1: when it comes to these things because they are essential, okay?
- 9:35Speaker 1: First of all, that God's word, that God's word is,
- 9:42Speaker 1: God's word is, it is inspired. By the Holy Spirit. Okay.
- 9:49Speaker 1: That means it is God breathed. And it is sufficient.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It is sufficient. For all truth. We get that from.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That's 2nd. 3 and 16 and 17. We won't go
- 10:03Speaker 1: to the verse here. We got a lot of scripture
- 10:05Speaker 1: verse to get into tonight. Number two, the deity of Christ.
- 10:11Speaker 1: In other words, Christ is God. He is fully God
- 10:16Speaker 1: and he is fully man. John 10 30 says, I
- 10:20Speaker 1: and the father are one. That's just one verse that
- 10:25Speaker 1: would prove that particular, this particular statement. So there should
- 10:29Speaker 1: be no discrepancy concerning the deity of Christ. There should
- 10:33Speaker 1: not be any believer in any denomination who comes out
- 10:37Speaker 1: and says, Jesus is not God. That should not be
- 10:42Speaker 1: the case. That is something that we all should be
- 10:45Speaker 1: agreeing on. Okay. Third, salvation, and we've just mentioned that
- 10:52Speaker 1: in the previous slide, salvation by grace through faith alone.
- 10:57Speaker 1: There is no other way to get saved. We're going
- 11:00Speaker 1: to talk about some other ways that people have come
- 11:03Speaker 1: up with, but it is salvation by grace through faith.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Salvation by grace through faith. Ephesians 2, verses 8 and
- 11:15Speaker 1: 9 say that specifically. For by grace are ye saved
- 11:20Speaker 1: through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the
- 11:24Speaker 1: gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So by grace through faith, we are saved. Amen. We
- 11:35Speaker 1: are saved. There's no way around that statement. There is
- 11:39Speaker 1: no possible way around that statement. The next statement that
- 11:46Speaker 1: is an essential doctrine that all believers need to come
- 11:51Speaker 1: together with is the fact that Christ rose again from
- 11:56Speaker 1: the dead, okay? To say otherwise disqualifies you from being
- 12:01Speaker 1: a Christian. There should be no such thing as a
- 12:03Speaker 1: Christian who says, I don't believe, or any group of
- 12:07Speaker 1: Christians who say, I don't believe that Jesus rose again.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That disqualifies you. You cannot call yourself a Christian if
- 12:14Speaker 1: you come to that conclusion. You are not saved if
- 12:17Speaker 1: you believe that Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead.
- 12:22Speaker 1: It's that simple. Amen. You cannot say that Jesus did
- 12:27Speaker 1: not rise again. There are ample scriptures that tell us
- 12:30Speaker 1: that Jesus Christ rose again from the dead. It is
- 12:33Speaker 1: part of the gospel, which is the fifth thing here.
- 12:39Speaker 1: It is the message that Jesus Christ died for our sins.
- 12:44Speaker 1: He died. for all and he died for the sins
- 12:49Speaker 1: of all okay we'll be getting into some of the
- 12:52Speaker 1: weeds about that statement also as we move along uh
- 12:57Speaker 1: in this uh in this series but suffice it to
- 13:00Speaker 1: say that the message the message of the gospel uh
- 13:06Speaker 1: we will find it in scripture and i want to
- 13:09Speaker 1: find i want to find this scripture i didn't i
- 13:11Speaker 1: should have uh looked for i should have uh gotten
- 13:13Speaker 1: it uh before I came on, but let me find
- 13:19Speaker 1: it right here, right now. Okay. Alrighty. I'm going to
- 13:26Speaker 1: get it. I'm going to get it. I'm sorry, but
- 13:28Speaker 1: I want to make sure that I say this properly.
- 13:32Speaker 1: And if I don't get it, it's okay. Alrighty. All right.
- 13:38Speaker 1: So far, no good. So far, I'm not finding what
- 13:41Speaker 1: I know that I am looking for. Okay. So I'm
- 13:45Speaker 1: not going to, Not going to take any more time
- 13:46Speaker 1: to look for it. But once again, it's the scripture
- 13:49Speaker 1: that very clearly states that Jesus Christ rose again from
- 13:53Speaker 1: the dead, that he died and he rose again on
- 13:56Speaker 1: the third day. That is the gospel. That is the
- 14:00Speaker 1: gospel message. Everyone who is a believer has to believe
- 14:04Speaker 1: that in every aspect. To say otherwise, once again, disqualifies
- 14:11Speaker 1: you from being a Christian. Okay. Finally, monotheism okay uh
- 14:17Speaker 1: one god in three persons and and we're talking that
- 14:22Speaker 1: also comes in right there with the trinity okay now
- 14:25Speaker 1: there are many uh not many there is a group
- 14:29Speaker 1: there is a group of christians i will put that
- 14:32Speaker 1: in quotation because many people call this group uh they
- 14:36Speaker 1: they say that they are a cult uh because of
- 14:39Speaker 1: what they believe concerning jesus uh they are the jesus
- 14:43Speaker 1: only people and that is the denomination of Church of
- 14:47Speaker 1: God in Christ. The Church of God in Christ does
- 14:52Speaker 1: not adhere to the Trinity. They have a whole different
- 14:57Speaker 1: thought and idea on the Trinity, that the Bible doesn't
- 15:02Speaker 1: speak of a Trinity, the word Trinity is not in
- 15:04Speaker 1: the Bible, that it is an invention that happened years
- 15:11Speaker 1: after Christ had come and gone, No, the Trinity is
- 15:17Speaker 1: in the Bible. Doesn't matter if the word Trinity is
- 15:20Speaker 1: not in the Bible. The word Trinity describes the union
- 15:24Speaker 1: between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, okay?
- 15:28Speaker 1: These three are one, okay? They are not one another, okay?
- 15:35Speaker 1: One God in three persons. They also have a problem
- 15:39Speaker 1: with calling the Holy Spirit a person. because a person
- 15:43Speaker 1: cannot be a spirit at the same time. We are
- 15:48Speaker 1: called souls, okay? The Old Testament calls human beings souls,
- 15:53Speaker 1: but we have bodies, but the scripture calls us souls, okay? Also,
- 16:00Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit, we also have a soul and a
- 16:06Speaker 1: spirit within us, okay? And we need to be mindful
- 16:11Speaker 1: that Those who say that there is no Trinity, got
- 16:17Speaker 1: to be careful about that because there is a Trinity
- 16:23Speaker 1: that does exist, okay? And maybe we'll get into that also,
- 16:28Speaker 1: those weeds a little bit later also, all righty? Now,
- 16:36Speaker 1: what are the non-essentials? Non-essentials. Very quickly, the non-decentralized are
- 16:41Speaker 1: those things, once again, as we said previously, those things
- 16:45Speaker 1: that are not, I won't say binding because all scripture
- 16:50Speaker 1: is binding, but there is no agreement. The last thing
- 16:54Speaker 1: that we said, everybody agrees for the most part, for
- 16:58Speaker 1: the most part, obviously excluding the church of God in
- 17:01Speaker 1: Christ when it comes to the Trinity. And once again,
- 17:04Speaker 1: they are on the fringe. They are on the fringe
- 17:07Speaker 1: when it comes to that, okay? But these are the non-essentials,
- 17:11Speaker 1: those things that seem to go either way, but it
- 17:15Speaker 1: does not affect your salvation. Listen, if you don't believe
- 17:18Speaker 1: in the Trinity, something's wrong. If you don't believe in
- 17:22Speaker 1: the resurrection, you're not saved. If you don't believe the
- 17:26Speaker 1: Bible is inspired by God, not the Bible contains the
- 17:30Speaker 1: word of God, but that the Bible is in its entirety,
- 17:33Speaker 1: the word of God, then once again, you're not saved.
- 17:37Speaker 1: So those essentials, need to be believed by everyone who
- 17:42Speaker 1: is a believer, who claims to be a believer. These
- 17:45Speaker 1: are non-essentials. It's not that they are so much not believed.
- 17:49Speaker 1: It's just also that they are not, there is no
- 17:54Speaker 1: agreement on how it goes. For instance, eschatology. And when
- 18:00Speaker 1: we talk about eschatology, we're talking about the end times.
- 18:03Speaker 1: We're talking about prophetic things. We're talking about, is there a,
- 18:09Speaker 1: seven-year tribulation. Is there a rapture? Listen, some say, I've
- 18:16Speaker 1: heard people say recently that if you don't believe in
- 18:19Speaker 1: the rapture, then you cannot be saved. Well, I would
- 18:25Speaker 1: disagree with that statement if you don't believe in a rapture.
- 18:29Speaker 1: There are many Christians who don't believe in a rapture.
- 18:34Speaker 1: They don't believe in a rapture, okay? They just believe
- 18:37Speaker 1: that there's going to be The end's going to come.
- 18:39Speaker 1: There's going to be a judgment. And they have a
- 18:41Speaker 1: whole different way, a whole different understanding of the end times. Okay?
- 18:48Speaker 1: A whole different understanding. And I can understand that. But
- 18:51Speaker 1: that does not make them non-Christian if they don't believe
- 18:55Speaker 1: in eschatology in the same way that we do. Okay?
- 19:03Speaker 1: Different views on creation. There are Christians who believe that
- 19:07Speaker 1: the world as it is, is very young, 6,000 to 7,000
- 19:11Speaker 1: years old. There are also those who believe in an
- 19:14Speaker 1: old earth, that the earth is millions of years old.
- 19:17Speaker 1: There are those who believe that there was another world
- 19:21Speaker 1: before this world. Whatever the case may be, you can
- 19:24Speaker 1: still be a born-again Christian and believe either one of those.
- 19:30Speaker 1: A young earth, an old earth, a previous earth, whatever
- 19:33Speaker 1: it is, you can still be saved, okay? we just
- 19:37Speaker 1: have to learn how to get along with these different disagreements, okay?
- 19:43Speaker 1: What Bible translation, whatever Bible translation you read does not
- 19:47Speaker 1: disqualify you from being a Christian, okay? I read the
- 19:52Speaker 1: King James Version. That is my version of choice. Almost
- 19:56Speaker 1: nearly 100% of the time, that is the version that
- 20:00Speaker 1: I read. The other version that I will read, other
- 20:03Speaker 1: than the KJV, from time to time, I will look
- 20:07Speaker 1: at the New King James Version. From time to time,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I will look at the New American Standard Bible, but KJV,
- 20:14Speaker 1: I would say nearly 99.9%. That's the version, my version
- 20:19Speaker 1: of choice. Now that doesn't make me better than anybody else.
- 20:22Speaker 1: If someone else wants to read the NIV, that does
- 20:26Speaker 1: not make them unchristian if they read the NIV. Yes,
- 20:30Speaker 1: the NIV has some problems and the New King James
- 20:33Speaker 1: Version has some problems and the NASB has some problems.
- 20:38Speaker 1: All the versions, when I say problems, I don't mean
- 20:41Speaker 1: necessarily it's not the word of God. But once again,
- 20:47Speaker 1: the King James Version is just traditional. And once again,
- 20:50Speaker 1: it's the wording. And that's just the version that I,
- 20:54Speaker 1: as a Christian, grew up in. And that's the version
- 20:57Speaker 1: that I've memorized scripture. And no other version for me,
- 21:02Speaker 1: other versions don't, I'll use the word work. Other versions
- 21:06Speaker 1: just don't work for me. For me. But if you
- 21:09Speaker 1: want to read the NIV, or if you want to
- 21:11Speaker 1: read the ESV, the English Standard Version, listen, listen. It
- 21:17Speaker 1: doesn't disqualify you from being Christian. Okay? If you read that, oh,
- 21:22Speaker 1: you're not a Christian, you read the NIV. No, I
- 21:24Speaker 1: don't believe that. I don't believe that for a moment. Okay?
- 21:27Speaker 1: How about mode of baptism? That's another non-essential. Even though sprinkling, um,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and pouring water over the head, those are not biblical.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Those are not biblical, but there are Christians, legitimate Christians,
- 21:46Speaker 1: who sprinkle. There are legitimate Christians who pour. But once again,
- 21:52Speaker 1: biblically speaking, baptism is by immersion, by immersion. Now, you
- 21:59Speaker 1: can say, now, because baptism, Because baptism itself is also
- 22:06Speaker 1: a non-essential, not that it's something that should not be done.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Baptism is something that should be done. Okay, water baptism
- 22:15Speaker 1: is something that should be done by every believer. No doubt,
- 22:20Speaker 1: no doubt about it. But if you have been sprinkled
- 22:25Speaker 1: as a believer, or if you had water poured over
- 22:28Speaker 1: your head as a believer, you cannot say that you
- 22:33Speaker 1: have been baptized biblically. Biblical baptism is by immersion, okay?
- 22:40Speaker 1: And scripture bears that out in several places, okay? The
- 22:44Speaker 1: word itself, the word itself means to go under, okay?
- 22:48Speaker 1: So baptism, baptism. But once again, there's no agreement. There's
- 22:55Speaker 1: no agreement on how to baptize. Some, listen, some denominations
- 23:01Speaker 1: baptize children. And of course they don't, I mean, babies.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And of course you don't take a baby and dunk
- 23:06Speaker 1: them underwater. You take a little water, you may pour
- 23:08Speaker 1: a little adrenal water over them or sprinkle them. Okay.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But once again, biblically speaking, that is not the proper
- 23:18Speaker 1: way to be baptized. Biblically speaking, if you want to
- 23:21Speaker 1: stay with the Bible, okay, immersion. Secondly, that's another point
- 23:27Speaker 1: of contention. Okay. Baptizing babies. For what reason would you
- 23:33Speaker 1: baptize a baby? The first thing about baptism is baptism
- 23:39Speaker 1: only happens when a person has been born again, saved, okay?
- 23:44Speaker 1: When you are in Christ. Little babies, little babies, they're
- 23:49Speaker 1: not saved. Little babies are not born again. Babies, babies, infants, toddlers,
- 23:57Speaker 1: they are not born again. And so there's no reason
- 23:59Speaker 1: to baptize them. Once again, There's no agreement on that,
- 24:04Speaker 1: but it is a non-essential, okay? It is a non-essential.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Worship styles, liturgical versus contemporary. Listen, there are denominations that
- 24:17Speaker 1: don't play instruments in their church, don't have any music
- 24:21Speaker 1: in their church because they say music is something worldly
- 24:24Speaker 1: and it will sort of bring up the carnal side.
- 24:27Speaker 1: So they don't have any music in their church. Is
- 24:30Speaker 1: it wrong? I'm not going to say it's wrong, But
- 24:34Speaker 1: if the people are saved in that church and they
- 24:38Speaker 1: don't want to play music, okay, the Bible says make
- 24:42Speaker 1: a joyful noise unto the Lord. Okay, the Bible talks
- 24:45Speaker 1: about horns and cymbals and all sorts of instruments. There's
- 24:49Speaker 1: nothing in the Bible that I see that disqualifies the
- 24:52Speaker 1: use of instruments, the use of music. We have the
- 24:55Speaker 1: whole book of Psalms, which is a song book, and
- 24:59Speaker 1: those are meant to be put to music. They are songs.
- 25:04Speaker 1: If a denomination or a church comes to the conclusion
- 25:09Speaker 1: that music is not what they want, fine. Listen, as
- 25:12Speaker 1: long as they are saved, if you are born again,
- 25:17Speaker 1: that's what it's all about. If you are saved, if
- 25:20Speaker 1: you have the spirit of God in your heart, in
- 25:22Speaker 1: your life, that's what really matters, okay? Finally, the gifts
- 25:28Speaker 1: of the spirit. Now, there is definitely no agreement on
- 25:33Speaker 1: whether or not the gifts of the Spirit are still
- 25:36Speaker 1: in existence. It is mainly those who are of the
- 25:40Speaker 1: Pentecostal or charismatic persuasion that tell us that the gifts
- 25:47Speaker 1: of the Spirit are for today. Tongues and prophecy, those
- 25:52Speaker 1: who don't, and that is just about every other major
- 25:56Speaker 1: denomination outside of Pentecostalism, will tell us that the gifts
- 26:02Speaker 1: have all passed. Tongues, they go to the scripture verse
- 26:07Speaker 1: that says tongues shall cease. But we believe, those who
- 26:12Speaker 1: are of the Pentecostal persuasion, we believe that the gifts
- 26:15Speaker 1: are still in existence today. But once again, if you
- 26:20Speaker 1: never speak in tongues in your life, if you never
- 26:23Speaker 1: seek after the gift of tongues in your life, it
- 26:26Speaker 1: doesn't disqualify you from being a Christian. You can still
- 26:30Speaker 1: be a Christian today. and never and never in your
- 26:33Speaker 1: life speak with tongues. Listen, now there are also aberrant
- 26:38Speaker 1: views on tongues that are not biblical. Those who do
- 26:42Speaker 1: believe that unless you speak in tongues, you are not
- 26:46Speaker 1: born again. Now that is absolutely unbiblical. And I don't
- 26:50Speaker 1: even know where that type of understanding, I don't see
- 26:53Speaker 1: anything remotely in scripture in the book of Acts or
- 26:57Speaker 1: in any other book that would lead us to say
- 27:00Speaker 1: that unless you speak in tongues, you are not saved, okay?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Everyone who speaks in tongues is already saved. Just like
- 27:13Speaker 1: everyone who gets baptized in water should already be saved, okay?
- 27:19Speaker 1: So once again, but once again, there is no agreement
- 27:23Speaker 1: on these things. They are non-essential. If you don't believe,
- 27:26Speaker 1: if you believe one way or the other, it is
- 27:28Speaker 1: not going to move the pendulum in either direction concerning
- 27:32Speaker 1: your salvation. If you're saved, you're saved. I believe in
- 27:37Speaker 1: the young earth. I'm saved. I believe in the old earth.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I'm saved. I never spoke in tongues. I don't believe
- 27:42Speaker 1: in speaking in tongues. I'm saved. Yes, there are brothers
- 27:46Speaker 1: and sisters in Christ all over the world who won't
- 27:49Speaker 1: speak in tongues, who never will speak in tongues, who
- 27:52Speaker 1: have no desire to speak in tongues. I don't mean
- 27:54Speaker 1: to say it like that, but that's how it is.
- 27:56Speaker 1: They just don't believe it. They don't believe it, but
- 28:00Speaker 1: that does not mean they are not saved. What can
- 28:04Speaker 1: I say? They're still saved. And preferably, they will look
- 28:08Speaker 1: at us and say the same thing. Even though they
- 28:13Speaker 1: speak in tongues, if they are born again, then I'm
- 28:16Speaker 1: going to still believe. Now, there's been some very harsh
- 28:18Speaker 1: things that have been said over the years by some concerning, uh,
- 28:23Speaker 1: those who speak in tongues and those who believe in
- 28:25Speaker 1: the gifts of the spirit. The, uh, you know, there's
- 28:27Speaker 1: been a, there've been whole entire conferences, uh, based on, uh,
- 28:36Speaker 1: Pentecostals and charismatic people and the entire movement from Azusa
- 28:43Speaker 1: Street was not even real. There's a group that believes
- 28:48Speaker 1: that too. And so they believe, many who are on
- 28:51Speaker 1: the other side believe that Pentecostals and charismatics are the hardliners.
- 28:56Speaker 1: They believe that Pentecostals and charismatics are not even Christians.
- 29:03Speaker 1: That's a hard line. That is a hard line. and
- 29:08Speaker 1: that's not true, okay? That's not true, all right? All righty, now,
- 29:14Speaker 1: what are some of the views on how we are saved, okay?
- 29:19Speaker 1: What are some of the views on how we are saved?
- 29:22Speaker 1: We looked at some of the essentials and some of
- 29:23Speaker 1: the non-essentials. There are others, but we just chose those few, okay?
- 29:27Speaker 1: What are some of the views on how we are saved, okay?
- 29:31Speaker 1: Some believe that we are saved only by faith. Okay?
- 29:36Speaker 1: And obviously what it says in Ephesians 2, 8, and 9,
- 29:39Speaker 1: for by grace are you saved. We've already mentioned this verse.
- 29:42Speaker 1: For by grace are you saved through faith and that
- 29:44Speaker 1: not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not
- 29:46Speaker 1: of worthless any man should boast. We read Acts 16, 31.
- 29:52Speaker 1: And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and
- 29:55Speaker 1: thou shalt be saved and thine house. Okay? These particular
- 30:01Speaker 1: verses promise, they promise salvation to those who believe, okay?
- 30:07Speaker 1: Showing the primacy of faith, okay? So faith is very
- 30:13Speaker 1: much a part of the salvation process. Second, there are
- 30:19Speaker 1: some who teach that salvation is only through repentance, okay?
- 30:26Speaker 1: Repent ye in Acts 3.19, repent ye therefore, and be
- 30:30Speaker 1: converted that your sins may be blotted out when the
- 30:33Speaker 1: times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
- 30:36Speaker 1: This would seem to say that all you need to
- 30:40Speaker 1: do is to repent so that your sins can be
- 30:44Speaker 1: blotted out and you are converted. Where's the faith? What
- 30:49Speaker 1: happened to faith? It's here, it says, repent, okay? Luke 13,
- 30:53Speaker 1: three says, I tell you nay, but except ye repent,
- 30:58Speaker 1: you shall all likewise perish. This is Jesus talking to
- 31:00Speaker 1: the Pharisees. Unless you repent, you're going to perish. So
- 31:05Speaker 1: once again, this is talking about the importance of repentance.
- 31:08Speaker 1: These verses underscore the necessity of repentance for salvation, indicating
- 31:13Speaker 1: that without it, one cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
- 31:17Speaker 1: And so we have faith. We have repentance. They are
- 31:21Speaker 1: all involved in the salvation process. Next, There are some
- 31:29Speaker 1: who teach that salvation is by water baptism. And this
- 31:34Speaker 1: is what is commonly called baptismal regeneration. In other words,
- 31:41Speaker 1: saved through water baptism. And they go to scriptures like
- 31:45Speaker 1: Acts 22 and 16, which says, and now why tarryest thou?
- 31:52Speaker 1: Arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins calling
- 31:58Speaker 1: on the name of the Lord. Now, once again, I
- 32:01Speaker 1: don't want to get too deep. I want to get
- 32:03Speaker 1: too deep, but it's necessary here for this verse. When
- 32:06Speaker 1: we look at the sentence construction in the English, it
- 32:11Speaker 1: gives you the impression that it's the water baptism that is,
- 32:15Speaker 1: it is the water baptism that is going to wash
- 32:17Speaker 1: an individual's sins away. That's the impression that the reading
- 32:22Speaker 1: in English gives you, in the King James Version at least. Now,
- 32:27Speaker 1: the actual sentence construction, the actual sentence construction says something
- 32:41Speaker 1: entirely different. I wrote it down. I wrote down what
- 32:44Speaker 1: the sentence construction is in the Greek. And of course,
- 32:50Speaker 1: am I going to be able to find it? Yes,
- 32:51Speaker 1: here it is. Okay. All right. Here is this. Here
- 32:55Speaker 1: is the actual sentence construction in the Greek. If you
- 33:00Speaker 1: have a Greek lexicon, this is how it would read.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Having risen, be baptized and wash away your sins, having
- 33:12Speaker 1: called on the name of the Lord. Some commentator says,
- 33:16Speaker 1: having previously called upon the name of the Lord. Okay, now,
- 33:22Speaker 1: the fact that it's talking about washing away your sins,
- 33:25Speaker 1: It's talking about the fact that water baptism is symbolic.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Water baptism is a symbolic act. Now, once again, there
- 33:37Speaker 1: are those who believe differently on that also, but water
- 33:40Speaker 1: baptism is a symbolic act. Water baptism, there is no
- 33:46Speaker 1: power in water baptism. There is no power in the water.
- 33:50Speaker 1: There is nothing, there is nothing outwardly spiritual that is
- 33:54Speaker 1: happening or inwardly spiritual that is happening when you are
- 34:00Speaker 1: baptized in water. I've told many people, many people have
- 34:03Speaker 1: asked me over the years, young people, and when I
- 34:05Speaker 1: get baptized in water, am I going to be different?
- 34:09Speaker 1: And I say, no, no, that's not the purpose of
- 34:13Speaker 1: water baptism. There's no power in the water to change you, okay?
- 34:17Speaker 1: You're not going to be transformed in any kind of
- 34:20Speaker 1: a way. Water baptism is an outward show. Water baptism
- 34:25Speaker 1: is an outward picture of what has happened to you inwardly.
- 34:30Speaker 1: That's what water baptism is. It is telling others that
- 34:35Speaker 1: you have been buried in sin and raised up in
- 34:40Speaker 1: new life. It's a picture of the washing away of
- 34:44Speaker 1: your sins. It is a picture of the salvation process.
- 34:48Speaker 1: And that's what this verse... Acts 22 and 16 is
- 34:53Speaker 1: pointing to. It is not saying that your sins are
- 34:57Speaker 1: washed away in the water. That is not what is
- 35:01Speaker 1: in view there at all. Also in John 3, 5,
- 35:05Speaker 1: Jesus answered verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a
- 35:09Speaker 1: man be born of water and of the spirit, he
- 35:12Speaker 1: cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Those who believe
- 35:15Speaker 1: in baptismal regeneration have grabbed onto that verse because they
- 35:19Speaker 1: say Jesus is saying, that you got to be born
- 35:22Speaker 1: of water. Well, every one of us has been born
- 35:25Speaker 1: of water. That's the physical side of we came through
- 35:29Speaker 1: water when we were born, okay? In mama's belly, we
- 35:36Speaker 1: are in water. And when it's time for her to
- 35:40Speaker 1: give birth, that water, that sack breaks and here comes
- 35:44Speaker 1: the baby in some time, okay? But so we're born
- 35:49Speaker 1: of water and of the spirit. We're born physically, we're
- 35:52Speaker 1: born spiritually, okay? Unless that happens, unless you're born physically,
- 35:57Speaker 1: you cannot be born spiritually. You're never born, okay? So
- 36:00Speaker 1: he cannot enter, that person cannot enter in to the
- 36:04Speaker 1: kingdom of God, okay? So once again, these passages seem
- 36:08Speaker 1: to connect salvation with water baptism. And it seemed to
- 36:14Speaker 1: be a command, okay? Or a condition or a symbol,
- 36:19Speaker 1: but Water baptism, once again, is symbolic. It's a picture, okay?
- 36:26Speaker 1: It's a picture. Why did Jesus need to get baptized?
- 36:30Speaker 1: That's another question I hear from time to time. Jesus
- 36:33Speaker 1: had no sin, okay? Why did Jesus need to be baptized, okay?
- 36:39Speaker 1: He needed to be baptized so he could be our example.
- 36:43Speaker 1: That's one of the reasons why Jesus needed to be baptized,
- 36:46Speaker 1: because he showed us an example, uh, should follow. John
- 36:52Speaker 1: was baptizing everyone. Uh, and, and Jesus came forth also
- 36:58Speaker 1: to be baptized. That wasn't a, when people, John's baptism,
- 37:02Speaker 1: what it was not a baptism of forgiveness of sins.
- 37:06Speaker 1: John's baptism was a baptism looking forward to the one
- 37:09Speaker 1: who would come and the one who would come came
- 37:13Speaker 1: and he got baptized. He was the one and he
- 37:16Speaker 1: got baptized Jesus Christ. Amen. Um, So there you have
- 37:23Speaker 1: it when it comes to water baptism. All righty? There
- 37:31Speaker 1: are some who believe and teach that salvation is through
- 37:38Speaker 1: the keeping of the law. Okay? Now, the law of
- 37:44Speaker 1: Moses is consistently portrayed as the covenant and teaching given
- 37:51Speaker 1: to Israel, which could not alone provide salvation. It didn't
- 37:58Speaker 1: provide salvation at all. Salvation was and is through Jesus Christ.
- 38:04Speaker 1: As the law points, the law points to Jesus Christ
- 38:08Speaker 1: and reveals sin, but the law cannot save apart from Jesus. Yet,
- 38:13Speaker 1: many believe and teach that the law plays a role
- 38:16Speaker 1: in our righteousness. It does not. Okay, the law, Paul
- 38:24Speaker 1: the Apostle called the law a ministry of death. Okay,
- 38:34Speaker 1: he called it a ministry of death. Okay, because there's
- 38:39Speaker 1: no life in the law. Now, there's no life. The
- 38:43Speaker 1: law was meant to lead us to life, but the
- 38:46Speaker 1: law was not life in itself. The law was a
- 38:49Speaker 1: temporary stopgap measure until Jesus would come. Everything in the
- 38:53Speaker 1: law points to Jesus. The law points to Jesus. All
- 38:57Speaker 1: of those feasts, the things in the temple, everything, it
- 39:02Speaker 1: all pointed to Jesus Christ, amen? And that is important.
- 39:08Speaker 1: So keeping the law does not make one righteous. Keeping
- 39:12Speaker 1: the law does not make one righteous, not at all, okay? Now,
- 39:20Speaker 1: this is on the fringe, but I only included this
- 39:23Speaker 1: because I've seen, I saw this happen. I was, spent
- 39:25Speaker 1: a little time, spent a little time in the South
- 39:29Speaker 1: when I was younger. And I recall sitting in a
- 39:33Speaker 1: church and the pastor invited folk to come up and
- 39:40Speaker 1: join the church and become a member of the church.
- 39:43Speaker 1: And that basically was their salvation, okay? This is a tradition.
- 39:49Speaker 1: This is a church tradition. Tradition, okay? Giving the pastor
- 39:54Speaker 1: what they call the right hand of fellowship. And they
- 39:58Speaker 1: believe that that's sufficient for signifying a person's recognition as
- 40:02Speaker 1: part of a body of believers. But this practice, what
- 40:07Speaker 1: it does, is serve to promote a false sense of
- 40:11Speaker 1: security for many. Okay? A false sense of security. I'm saved.
- 40:18Speaker 1: How do you know you're saved? Well, I shook the
- 40:19Speaker 1: pastor's hand. How ridiculous does that sound? How ridiculous does
- 40:23Speaker 1: it sound for somebody to say they are a believer,
- 40:27Speaker 1: they are a Christian because they went to church and
- 40:29Speaker 1: they walked to the front and shook the pastor's hand? Yeah.
- 40:34Speaker 1: If you think it still doesn't go on, yeah, it does.
- 40:38Speaker 1: As ridiculous and aberrant as that sounds, it still goes
- 40:42Speaker 1: on today. All righty? So, the four primary elements are
- 40:49Speaker 1: involved Four primary elements are involved in our coming to
- 40:53Speaker 1: new life in Christ. And they are deeply interconnected. Conviction, faith, repentance,
- 41:04Speaker 1: and confession. Okay? And we're going to spend a little time.
- 41:07Speaker 1: This is actually where we left off a couple of
- 41:10Speaker 1: months ago. This is where we left off. But we're
- 41:15Speaker 1: going to carefully, we're going to define each one. Okay?
- 41:20Speaker 1: What does convict mean in the New Testament? To convict, okay?
- 41:25Speaker 1: In the New Testament, the Greek word eleko, okay? And
- 41:31Speaker 1: once again, we're going to get into the Greek a
- 41:33Speaker 1: little bit here. And its related forms are translated in
- 41:37Speaker 1: various English versions as convict, proof, okay? The term carries
- 41:47Speaker 1: a legal meaning. connotation. The word convict has a legal
- 41:52Speaker 1: connotation and it means to bring to light. It means
- 41:56Speaker 1: to expose or to prove guilty by presenting evidence and
- 42:04Speaker 1: convincing or reproving someone of wrongdoing generally with a suggestion
- 42:10Speaker 1: of shame for the person convicted. Without the convicting power
- 42:16Speaker 1: of the Holy Spirit, one cannot be saved, okay? Here's
- 42:21Speaker 1: the convicting ministry of the Holy Spirit, okay? John 16, eight, okay?
- 42:28Speaker 1: And when he is come, he will reprove the world
- 42:31Speaker 1: of sin and of righteousness and of judgment, okay? Spirit
- 42:36Speaker 1: of God exposes sin. The Holy Spirit makes an individual
- 42:40Speaker 1: deeply aware, deeply aware of their moral, shortcomings and spiritual
- 42:47Speaker 1: shortcomings of course uh and their separation from god okay
- 42:52Speaker 1: reveals the need for christ the holy spirit reveals to
- 42:56Speaker 1: an individual talk about unsaved individuals okay that's we're talking
- 43:00Speaker 1: about how we get saved revealing the need uh for
- 43:05Speaker 1: christ okay uh true conviction uh does more uh than
- 43:10Speaker 1: bring about guilt or shame it reveals uh their true
- 43:13Speaker 1: need and points them directly toward the righteousness and mercy
- 43:17Speaker 1: found in Christ. Once again, it cannot be any other way.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Unless a person is convicted, they cannot be said to
- 43:27Speaker 1: be saved, okay? And it induces repentance. By convicting the heart,
- 43:34Speaker 1: the spirit persuades or draws a person to turn away
- 43:38Speaker 1: from sin and self-reliance and place their trust entirely in
- 43:44Speaker 1: Jesus for salvation. Okay? That is the convicting ministry of
- 43:52Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit. Now, there are those, there are those
- 43:58Speaker 1: within the body who deny the convicting ministry of the
- 44:06Speaker 1: Holy Spirit as it pertains to believers. as it pertains
- 44:11Speaker 1: to believers, those who are already Christian, there are those
- 44:17Speaker 1: in the so-called grace movement who would tell us that
- 44:23Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit does not convict us of sin, but
- 44:27Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit convicts us of righteousness, okay? No, no.
- 44:34Speaker 1: They say that it is basically a sin to bring
- 44:41Speaker 1: up your sin to God. In other words, they indicate
- 44:46Speaker 1: that you should not ask the Holy Spirit to forgive
- 44:52Speaker 1: you of sin or ask Christ to forgive you of
- 44:55Speaker 1: your sin when the Holy Spirit convicts you. Okay, why?
- 45:00Speaker 1: Because they say that our sins are already forgiven, that
- 45:04Speaker 1: our sins were forgiven when we were born again, all
- 45:06Speaker 1: of our sins. All of our sins were forgiven to
- 45:09Speaker 1: the point where we don't need to ask for forgiveness anymore. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Don't believe that you don't have to ask the Lord
- 45:21Speaker 1: to forgive you for sin anymore because all of your
- 45:23Speaker 1: sins have been forgiven. That is a lie. That is pure.
- 45:29Speaker 1: That is pure false doctrine. Yes, we need to ask
- 45:34Speaker 1: for forgiveness. And when the Holy Spirit convicts us and
- 45:38Speaker 1: prompts us to ask for forgiveness, it's for a reason, okay?
- 45:44Speaker 1: It's for a reason, okay? So don't believe that you
- 45:48Speaker 1: don't have to ask God to forgive you. Yeah, yeah,
- 45:52Speaker 1: we do. We still do need the Lord to forgive us,
- 45:56Speaker 1: all right? What does confess? What does confess mean in
- 46:04Speaker 1: the New Testament? In the New Testament, the English word
- 46:06Speaker 1: confess literally means to speak the same thing as another person. Okay?
- 46:13Speaker 1: The core idea is to agree or to assent. The
- 46:19Speaker 1: context determines whether it refers to admitting guilt inward or outward,
- 46:28Speaker 1: publicly declaring allegiance or truth, giving praise or thanksgiving, or
- 46:36Speaker 1: making a solemn promise or covenant, okay? So to confess
- 46:41Speaker 1: is to say the same thing. That's what it means,
- 46:46Speaker 1: to say the same thing. And so when you confess
- 46:50Speaker 1: your sins, you are agreeing with the Lord concerning your sins.
- 46:57Speaker 1: You are agreeing with the Lord, okay? When the Bible
- 47:01Speaker 1: says that we are to confess, we are to agree.
- 47:06Speaker 1: We ought to give assent to the truth. That's what
- 47:09Speaker 1: we are doing when we confess our sins. Okay? First John.
- 47:15Speaker 1: First John. Chapter number one. And verse number nine. If
- 47:26Speaker 1: we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
- 47:31Speaker 1: forgive us our sins. and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 47:38Speaker 1: If we confess, if we say that we have sinned,
- 47:42Speaker 1: if we agree with the Lord that we have sinned,
- 47:46Speaker 1: he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. Amen.
- 47:56Speaker 1: All right. This is the last one before we go
- 47:58Speaker 1: here tonight. The role of confession, okay? And we've just
- 48:02Speaker 1: talked about it just a bit. Romans... 10 verses 9
- 48:04Speaker 1: and 10, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
- 48:08Speaker 1: the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that
- 48:12Speaker 1: God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
- 48:15Speaker 1: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with
- 48:19Speaker 1: the mouth confession is made unto salvation, okay? Agreeing with
- 48:25Speaker 1: God concerning salvation. Agreeing with God concerning the sin in
- 48:29Speaker 1: my own life, okay? That is how confession is made, okay?
- 48:34Speaker 1: Confession of Christ is a statement made with the mouth
- 48:38Speaker 1: about Jesus. Essentially, one confesses Jesus to be all that
- 48:43Speaker 1: the Bible claims him to be. Because confession varies in wording,
- 48:50Speaker 1: Scripture does not bind one set formula of words, okay?
- 48:57Speaker 1: And that's going to lead to another subject that we'll
- 48:58Speaker 1: get into the next time, amen? So we're going to
- 49:01Speaker 1: stop right there. Listen, I want to thank you all
- 49:05Speaker 1: for tuning in, for watching. We're going to continue next
- 49:08Speaker 1: week talking about, next week we'll be talking a bit
- 49:13Speaker 1: about the sinner's prayer. Going to be talking about the
- 49:16Speaker 1: sinner's prayer next week and whether it is something that
- 49:19Speaker 1: is biblical or not. What are the pros? What are
- 49:23Speaker 1: the cons of the sinner's prayer? We'll get into it
- 49:27Speaker 1: next week. Amen. So don't forget that these podcasts, these
- 49:33Speaker 1: webcasts will be you will be able to find them
- 49:38Speaker 1: in a in either a few hours or a few days,
- 49:41Speaker 1: you will find them on Spreaker.com where you can download
- 49:47Speaker 1: them and listen to them again. Amen. So that'll do
- 49:53Speaker 1: it for us for tonight. Amen. All righty, that'll do
- 49:59Speaker 1: it for us for tonight. Thank everybody for joining us.
- 50:03Speaker 1: We'll be back here, Lord willing, on Sunday for the
- 50:06Speaker 1: Sunday Sermon Series. It's been a good time being here.
