Latest / Anchored At Home / 1. You’re Not Alone: Why We’re Finally Having the Conversations That Matter
Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: The conversations that impact our lives are rooted in vulnerability, truth,
- 0:07Speaker 1: and grace.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Each week, we'll have real conversations about.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Life and all the beautiful, messy moments in between. We
- 0:17Speaker 1: hope this is a place where.
- 0:18Speaker 2: You can exhale, feel seen, know you're not alone, and
- 0:22Speaker 2: leave encouraged, challenged, and equipped. We're Josh and Liz, and
- 0:27Speaker 2: welcome to Anchored at Home.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Hi, welcome to Anchored at Home. I'm Liz.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And I'm Josh.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And we are the Knowleses. We are.
- 0:38Speaker 2: So this is exciting.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we're actually here.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Yeah, starting a podcast. And never thought this would be
- 0:48Speaker 2: ever anything that we would be doing. No, never. Not
- 0:52Speaker 2: people that ever wanted a mic.
- 0:55Speaker 1: No.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Here we are with a giant mic in front of us.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Do you want to share with them what you thought
- 1:00Speaker 1: about your mic at first?
- 1:02Speaker 2: Definitely. I feel like LL Cool J. If you're old
- 1:05Speaker 2: head like me, you remember the, I'm going to knock
- 1:09Speaker 2: you out. Anyway. So I feel like maybe I should
- 1:12Speaker 2: drop some bars after this. Something separate.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It'll probably come into it for sure.
- 1:19Speaker 2: For sure.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: So Anchored at Home podcast. Just want to kind of
- 1:25Speaker 2: have a real raw conversation. Like you said, everything that
- 1:28Speaker 2: we are going to talk about is just off the cuff,
- 1:32Speaker 2: who we are, what's on our heart. So I guess
- 1:37Speaker 2: we should start by who we are again. Josh. Liz. Yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and we're in the dozes. We met in Virginia. I'm
- 1:51Speaker 2: born and raised in Virginia.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I was there getting my master's. We were both coaching.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:59Speaker 1: For the same club team. I coached the U14 girls.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And I had been coaching for this club. I'm,
- 2:04Speaker 2: you know, living in that area, knew a lot of people.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And we all coached at the same facility. So when
- 2:11Speaker 2: a beautiful, smoking, hot blonde comes in, you're like, who's
- 2:18Speaker 2: that girl? I would like to get to know her.
- 2:21Speaker 2: So I did introduce myself at the coach's clinic. Obviously,
- 2:25Speaker 2: I was demoing. And I honestly think that probably is
- 2:28Speaker 2: where it, spark started to fly for you i could
- 2:31Speaker 2: be wrong.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Right yeah not so much your soccer ability that was it.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Right definitely no just shaved legs yeah maybe.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah first guy ever met with shaved legs yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah who knew we'd be sharing razors down the line
- 2:46Speaker 2: anyway um so yeah that's kind of how we met
- 2:49Speaker 2: and we started our family uh in in virginia we
- 2:53Speaker 2: have two boys august and braxton um And then from there,
- 2:58Speaker 2: we went on an adventure. We both believe that life
- 3:03Speaker 2: is an adventure. And as long as we have us four,
- 3:07Speaker 2: we know no matter where we go, we're going to
- 3:09Speaker 2: be okay. We're going to be strong. We're going to
- 3:10Speaker 2: be secure. We're going to make new friends.
- 3:13Speaker 1: God's always brought the right people into our lives in
- 3:17Speaker 1: each season.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Absolutely. So yeah, Virginia, we lived outside of Manhattan for
- 3:22Speaker 2: six and a half years. And then COVID hit and
- 3:24Speaker 2: we were like, let's get out of here. Went to
- 3:29Speaker 2: Florida for almost two and a half years. Then Texas.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Which is so hot in Texas. And if you live there,
- 3:36Speaker 2: we love it. We did. We met some incredible people,
- 3:38Speaker 2: obviously everywhere we went, but even in Texas, I mean,
- 3:41Speaker 2: just some incredible, awesome people, um, that are dear to
- 3:45Speaker 2: our heart that still live there. And maybe they'll have
- 3:48Speaker 2: a come to Jesus moment and move back to Florida.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I don't know. Um, but yeah, we missed the beach
- 3:53Speaker 2: and always lived, uh, close, you know, close to the ocean.
- 3:57Speaker 2: So not having that nearby felt like a piece of
- 4:00Speaker 2: my soul was missing. Um, that was the only place
- 4:04Speaker 2: that we've, we've lived where there wasn't a, uh, free
- 4:10Speaker 2: nervous system reset. And I feel like, especially for our kids. Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Everyone is at peace. I mean, closer to God's creation,
- 4:20Speaker 1: even though there are ranches in Texas and there are
- 4:22Speaker 1: mountains and other places, but the water is where we belong.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Absolutely. And I feel like, yeah, we're meant to connect
- 4:33Speaker 2: to God's creation. That's how we connect better.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Everyone's nervous system.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's a reset for everyone.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Regulated.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Amazing. Okay, so we came from there, Texas. Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: everybody think, well, when we meet them, are you military?
- 4:52Speaker 1: We're like, no, we just have moved six states in
- 4:55Speaker 1: a short period of time.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I've had some military haircuts since moving back to Florida.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Thank God I found a good barber. It was a struggle.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It was. You did look like you just came out
- 5:05Speaker 1: of the Marines.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 1: A few haircuts.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Which is amazing. I wish I could be as amazing
- 5:11Speaker 2: as an Marine, but I'm not that guy, unfortunately.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:16Speaker 1: So moving on. Um, yeah, that's who we are. We
- 5:20Speaker 1: reside in sunny Florida now. Um, and this has been
- 5:25Speaker 1: something on our hearts for a few years, but we've
- 5:29Speaker 1: definitely pushed it away, run away, ran away, ran away,
- 5:35Speaker 1: brought some other people into it and help them do
- 5:38Speaker 1: their great podcasts and their stuff. But every time we
- 5:42Speaker 1: walked away, um, or just like put it down even, um,
- 5:46Speaker 1: And the Lord brought it back to us in ways
- 5:50Speaker 1: that only He can through amazing people. And I'm going
- 5:57Speaker 1: to get emotional on the first time, but it's just
- 6:01Speaker 1: where I'm so grateful just for this opportunity. And I
- 6:06Speaker 1: think that's just where we've been at. And it's just,
- 6:10Speaker 1: we believe that it's about our obedience and our yes.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And this is our yes, even though it feels terrifying.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And this is the last thing.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I want to be doing.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And it's super uncomfortable, but it's also not about me
- 6:24Speaker 1: and it's not about you. And really God's shown us
- 6:28Speaker 1: that over the last few years, like to put down
- 6:31Speaker 1: the whole dying to our flesh and put down our
- 6:35Speaker 1: own pride. And this is for other people. And so
- 6:39Speaker 1: it's just, yeah, really grateful that we even have this
- 6:42Speaker 1: opportunity to speak to you guys, to get to be
- 6:46Speaker 1: here to sit and hang out together. This was not
- 6:50Speaker 1: what this looked like, our marriage or our lives years ago. So,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and again, we know like everyone doesn't believe what we
- 7:00Speaker 1: believe and that's totally okay. I think we both know
- 7:03Speaker 1: that whatever you do believe, the same as we do
- 7:10Speaker 1: or not, you're going to gain something and can gain
- 7:13Speaker 1: something from these conversations. We, our prayers that like God
- 7:16Speaker 1: would speak to us through us and it just lands
- 7:20Speaker 1: on hearts. And if we can help one person or
- 7:22Speaker 1: one family, um, we're doing what we've been asked to do.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So we're just really grateful.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Um, I want to, I want to touch on the
- 7:30Speaker 2: obedient part too, because I think we've, well, especially me
- 7:33Speaker 2: because I'm way older than you, but we've lived long
- 7:36Speaker 2: enough to have these moments in our life where we've
- 7:40Speaker 2: been obedient and, um, It's so cool to see what
- 7:45Speaker 2: God does on the back end of that obedience. He always,
- 7:49Speaker 2: you know, you take a step of faith, you be
- 7:51Speaker 2: obedient and without fail, when we take this step, God's
- 7:56Speaker 2: always like, no, let me show you. I got you.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I call them the, I got you moments. And there's
- 8:02Speaker 2: probably some other great wording for it, but that's my, that's.
- 8:05Speaker 1: What I call it. Yeah. So it's an example of that.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Really cool.
- 8:10Speaker 1: So what's an example of that?
- 8:11Speaker 2: Oh, when, I mean, an example in our life of when,
- 8:18Speaker 2: I mean, there's so many. Where would you like me
- 8:19Speaker 2: to start?
- 8:19Speaker 1: Which one? Pick one.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Okay. So I'll say when we moved to up north
- 8:25Speaker 2: outside of Manhattan, technically we were in Jersey. I always
- 8:28Speaker 2: start it with outside of Manhattan because it sounds cooler.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I don't know why. Shout out to all my Jersey people.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I love Jersey. My mom's from Jersey. Spent a lot
- 8:33Speaker 2: of time there. So, but, you know, when we decided
- 8:38Speaker 2: to move there, like we felt like, we were called
- 8:41Speaker 2: to that area to be part of church and, and
- 8:43Speaker 2: raise our family up there and be closer to your family. Um,
- 8:46Speaker 2: and just, you know, like I said, life is an adventure,
- 8:48Speaker 2: so let's go for it. Um, however, normally when you
- 8:52Speaker 2: line those things up, you haven't, most people would move
- 8:55Speaker 2: for a job or have something, you know, lined up. Um,
- 8:59Speaker 2: we didn't, we had nothing lined up at the time
- 9:01Speaker 2: I was selling it and working for a really incredible company.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And I'd had some, some good years, uh, two and
- 9:09Speaker 2: a half good years prior to that. And at the moment, um,
- 9:12Speaker 2: there was no sales reps that worked remotely. It wasn't
- 9:15Speaker 2: really a thing back then. Everyone was in the office. And,
- 9:20Speaker 2: you know, I said that, you know, that, you know,
- 9:23Speaker 2: you had a job opportunity up there and I, you know,
- 9:25Speaker 2: wanted to, um, cause it's tough. You can't really go
- 9:28Speaker 2: into the, your boss's office and be like, I feel
- 9:31Speaker 2: like God's calling me to this area.
- 9:33Speaker 1: And he's like, who?
- 9:34Speaker 2: What are you talking about? Um, but, uh, so, you know,
- 9:38Speaker 2: and the truth was you did have an opportunity. So,
- 9:40Speaker 2: and I wanted to support you, but at the same time,
- 9:42Speaker 2: like I wanted to have a job and, um, you know,
- 9:45Speaker 2: so I asked him if I could work remotely and
- 9:48Speaker 2: they were like, yeah, you know, we'll, we'll, we'll support
- 9:50Speaker 2: you and we'll give it a go. And it was sales.
- 9:52Speaker 2: So it was really easy to be like, is he
- 9:55Speaker 2: doing his job? Look at the numbers.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 9:57Speaker 2: If he's not, then it shows pretty pretty simply. But anyway,
- 10:01Speaker 2: so we, he, they allowed us to move up there
- 10:04Speaker 2: and for me to work remotely. And, you know, the
- 10:07Speaker 2: intention was, all right, let's get up there, give a base, but,
- 10:10Speaker 2: you know, see what happens from there. And then I
- 10:12Speaker 2: continued to be successful in that. But when we got
- 10:14Speaker 2: up there and the company, put our house on the market,
- 10:17Speaker 2: put our house in the market, it sold, ridiculously quick. And, um, like, yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 2: just kind of like, they were, they matched my cost
- 10:26Speaker 2: of living up there. They gave me raises and like,
- 10:28Speaker 2: it was literally just like one thing after another where
- 10:30Speaker 2: God was just like, I got you, let me show you.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I got you opening up doors for you in the city.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Um, and let me just add, not to interrupt you.
- 10:37Speaker 1: It was not easy. So like, I just want to
- 10:39Speaker 1: make that, we don't even need to go down this
- 10:41Speaker 1: whole road, but like, I just want to prep like
- 10:44Speaker 1: all those things are awesome. And that I got you
- 10:46Speaker 1: moments were real and all like, it was like a
- 10:49Speaker 1: waterfall of them, but it was more right. That act
- 10:53Speaker 1: of obedience. And then those things came, but it was,
- 10:56Speaker 1: there were lots of difficult things along that road. So
- 11:00Speaker 1: I don't want to steer anyone wrong of that. One
- 11:03Speaker 1: thing happens.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Hard, especially with the decisions and like hard things.
- 11:08Speaker 2: But I think it's cool that God always when it's God.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 2: It's easy. If that makes sense. It's smooth.
- 11:16Speaker 1: There's an ease.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Ease to it. There's a, there's a peace in, it
- 11:19Speaker 2: could be chaos, but there's peace.
- 11:20Speaker 1: In the chaos. Yeah.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Great. Okay.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Um, okay. So let's talk about why we started this
- 11:27Speaker 1: like podcast podcast.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Sure. Okay.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:31Speaker 2: So I think, um, again, through our live lives, life
- 11:37Speaker 2: in our marriage and our journey, we'll call it cause
- 11:40Speaker 2: I believe everyone's on a journey. Um, there was times
- 11:44Speaker 2: where we would kind of just like sit back and
- 11:46Speaker 2: reflect on our relationships and conversations that we've had. Um,
- 11:53Speaker 2: and the people that have been with us, um, and
- 11:58Speaker 2: just like so fortunate that we had the people that
- 12:04Speaker 2: we had with us standing with us, whether it's another couple,
- 12:09Speaker 2: whether it was a professional therapist, um, a church group
- 12:14Speaker 2: or whatever, friends, um, that looking back on it and
- 12:19Speaker 2: reflecting was like, we would not be where we are
- 12:22Speaker 2: now today. No. Right. Let alone, let alone five years ago,
- 12:26Speaker 2: let alone 10 years ago where we were in this
- 12:29Speaker 2: journey without the people that came alongside of us.
- 12:33Speaker 1: For sure.
- 12:34Speaker 2: So that being said, we had so many real raw, um,
- 12:42Speaker 2: conversations that literally would start at a kitchen table with
- 12:46Speaker 2: our friends, at a barbecue, sitting around the fire pit,
- 12:51Speaker 2: on the porch, that were just unfiltered, uncut, raw, vulnerable
- 12:59Speaker 2: conversations that we realize that we're not alone. Right. Whether
- 13:07Speaker 2: we would confess something or something that we were struggling.
- 13:09Speaker 1: With or Someone else would share something.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah. And there were so many like me too moments. Right.
- 13:17Speaker 2: That was like, why aren't these conversations easy to be
- 13:19Speaker 2: talked about? Right. So our goal, and please interrupt me
- 13:23Speaker 2: at any moment. Um, our goal with this, with this
- 13:27Speaker 2: podcast is to have those real raw conversations that people
- 13:32Speaker 2: aren't having with each other, with our friends, with other, um, marriages,
- 13:40Speaker 2: other couples, professionals that we've worked with and had the
- 13:44Speaker 2: pleasure of working with because that people simply can't afford
- 13:48Speaker 2: to work with. And we've been blessed to be able
- 13:50Speaker 2: to do that. But like, we just feel like these
- 13:53Speaker 2: conversations are needed and the topics are needed.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Right. And I think it's, we've talked about this a
- 14:00Speaker 1: lot of, okay, is it, are we being called to
- 14:03Speaker 1: like go first? And obviously there's so many firsts. Like
- 14:06Speaker 1: I don't, we don't mean like We're not special because
- 14:08Speaker 1: we're first like doing this by any means. I think it's,
- 14:12Speaker 1: we just know that if we can make a way
- 14:15Speaker 1: and create a safe space for others to see that like, hey,
- 14:20Speaker 1: it's okay to talk about the thing that like you
- 14:24Speaker 1: may have had hidden for years or talk about the
- 14:27Speaker 1: fear or to talk about the grief or the loss
- 14:30Speaker 1: or whatever it might be that like has been kind
- 14:34Speaker 1: of just like keeping someone holding someone back or whether
- 14:39Speaker 1: that's in yourself or your relationship and friendships, because it
- 14:44Speaker 1: does affect all of our relationships. But we've all been
- 14:48Speaker 1: in those conversations with people where someone shares something, it's
- 14:51Speaker 1: like everyone's holding their breath. And someone says, when you
- 14:54Speaker 1: watch the person share what it is, it's like... like
- 14:58Speaker 1: this giant exhale happens and you just watch, like, I mean,
- 15:03Speaker 1: I can say you watch someone's nervous system. I just,
- 15:05Speaker 1: you see the freedom in someone and it's just, it
- 15:08Speaker 1: brings us so much joy and getting to work with
- 15:13Speaker 1: couples aside from even the friends and like the relationships
- 15:17Speaker 1: we have, like you were talking about, to have those
- 15:20Speaker 1: like aha moments of just like, oh, you're struggling with that. Oh,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I'm not alone. And that's like, we live in a
- 15:28Speaker 1: world right now that we are the most lonely, yet
- 15:32Speaker 1: the most connected, but disconnected, right? Like, yeah, connected. And
- 15:39Speaker 1: so the amount of times and conversations and people that
- 15:43Speaker 1: even the people you think, and this is the biggest
- 15:46Speaker 1: myth that we see all the time and with a
- 15:48Speaker 1: lot of couples we work with is, like, Oh, look
- 15:51Speaker 1: at their life.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And like, it looks great. Like, look at their marriage,
- 15:55Speaker 1: look at their family, look at their.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Vacation version of it.
- 15:58Speaker 1: It's all the highlight reels. Right. And so this is
- 16:00Speaker 1: kind of like to allow you into, and like, we're
- 16:04Speaker 1: not perfect. We don't have it all figured out. Like,
- 16:08Speaker 1: I mean, it's like, but to remind people that, that
- 16:12Speaker 1: whatever you're seeing, right. The highlight reel, like we talk
- 16:15Speaker 1: about this a lot and, you might have seen the
- 16:18Speaker 1: anniversary post, right? That's this like beautiful dinner, who knows
- 16:21Speaker 1: what it looks like, right? It's probably very curated, but
- 16:24Speaker 1: like you didn't see the argument on the way to
- 16:26Speaker 1: that dinner. Like there wasn't a reel of the 11 p.m.
- 16:29Speaker 1: after that dinner that like is discussing how they couldn't
- 16:33Speaker 1: even believe they got to that anniversary, right? Or whatever
- 16:37Speaker 1: that might look like, you're not seeing the behind the
- 16:39Speaker 1: scenes of any of these couples, families, relationships. And so
- 16:45Speaker 1: the goal again is to like, To help people feel
- 16:47Speaker 1: connected in a way through our conversations and with the
- 16:52Speaker 1: people that we're bringing on and talking to, to then
- 16:55Speaker 1: find connection like within your own home first, right? Like
- 16:59Speaker 1: obviously for us, it's finding that connection with Jesus first
- 17:03Speaker 1: and then connecting with your spouse and your family. And
- 17:05Speaker 1: then it goes out from there. Like the ripple effect happens.
- 17:09Speaker 1: So then maybe you'll find courage from us sharing something
- 17:14Speaker 1: or hearing something on this. From someone and going, you
- 17:17Speaker 1: know what, it's time for me to share this with
- 17:19Speaker 1: someone that I'm close with. And that's our prayer behind
- 17:23Speaker 1: it is to just have people feel, again, like, I
- 17:27Speaker 1: know you're not in this room with us, but like,
- 17:28Speaker 1: we feel like you're all sitting here.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It's a safe space. Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And like, it's a safe space to just be yourself.
- 17:35Speaker 1: when so many other avenues in life are, are demand
- 17:39Speaker 1: your demand, even we all play roles. So like the
- 17:42Speaker 1: rules of motherhood, the roles of fatherhood of a businessman of,
- 17:46Speaker 1: you know, so many different avenues that you're, there is not,
- 17:49Speaker 1: you don't, you can just come like and listen and
- 17:53Speaker 1: really exhale and just like be yourself and show up
- 17:57Speaker 1: and have this be a safe space for you to
- 17:58Speaker 1: be able, who knows, to process something that you heard
- 18:02Speaker 1: of and, um, And we just know God's going to
- 18:05Speaker 1: use it however he sees fit.
- 18:08Speaker 2: And I really, you know, believe that I said this earlier,
- 18:13Speaker 2: like if we can help one person, then great. That's okay.
- 18:16Speaker 2: And we've been obedient and we've helped that one person.
- 18:18Speaker 1: We're not looking for.
- 18:19Speaker 2: No, we're not. And I think that, you know, when
- 18:23Speaker 2: we talk about like, we wouldn't have been where we
- 18:25Speaker 2: are today.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Our marriage wouldn't have gotten through things without people. I think,
- 18:30Speaker 2: you know, through, through the, through our journey, we've realized
- 18:34Speaker 2: that marriage is hard. Being a parent is hard. Being
- 18:40Speaker 2: a successful businessman, businesswoman is hard. Connecting with your kids
- 18:44Speaker 2: is hard. Life is hard. If not, you're probably doing
- 18:51Speaker 2: it wrong. Well, call us and let us know what
- 18:55Speaker 2: you're doing. Yeah, because I would love to know the secrets.
- 18:57Speaker 2: But I think you hear all the time of, it
- 19:01Speaker 2: takes a village. Right. We talk about this. It takes
- 19:04Speaker 2: the village to raise a kid. And 1000%, it takes villages,
- 19:09Speaker 2: I think, to raise a kid. But I think it
- 19:12Speaker 2: also takes a village to have a healthy marriage. I
- 19:15Speaker 2: think it also takes a village to be a great dad.
- 19:18Speaker 2: It takes a village to be a great mom. It
- 19:20Speaker 2: takes a village to be the best version of yourself.
- 19:23Speaker 2: And what we're trying to create in these podcasts is
- 19:27Speaker 2: we want to be part of your village. We want
- 19:29Speaker 2: to bring people in that can help Be part of
- 19:31Speaker 2: the village to help you and have real like unfiltered, uncut, vulnerable,
- 19:36Speaker 2: raw conversations. Yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 1: And maybe one of the conversations is something you're actually
- 19:42Speaker 1: going through at that time and you can find. And again,
- 19:45Speaker 1: like Josh had mentioned, you know, support. if it's not free,
- 19:51Speaker 1: costs a lot of money now. Right. And so like
- 19:53Speaker 1: our goal also is to bring people on that. Like
- 19:57Speaker 1: he said, we're so blessed that we've gotten to work
- 20:00Speaker 1: with from so many different working professionals that we wouldn't
- 20:05Speaker 1: be where we are today without as well. And so
- 20:08Speaker 1: to be able to have like invite them into this
- 20:10Speaker 1: space and, um, and even just like talk, we've reached
- 20:14Speaker 1: out to some of them. They're so excited and grateful,
- 20:16Speaker 1: like to be able to share with you guys, like
- 20:19Speaker 1: things that maybe some people wouldn't be able to, or
- 20:22Speaker 1: have wouldn't not just not be able to afford to
- 20:25Speaker 1: find the right person. Right. So we love connecting people
- 20:29Speaker 1: to whatever that looks like. We always say to people,
- 20:32Speaker 1: couples we work with, that's why we do a consultation, um,
- 20:36Speaker 1: a free like 30 minute call is if it's not us,
- 20:39Speaker 1: we're going to find you the people. We just sent
- 20:42Speaker 1: people recently to three different people whom we love and adore.
- 20:46Speaker 1: And we're like, we don't work in these areas and we,
- 20:49Speaker 1: we don't feel, and we take time, we pray about it.
- 20:51Speaker 1: And like, if we can't, God's not bringing, um, he
- 20:56Speaker 1: brings people to us, but also to go through us.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Like it's not to bring them to us and be.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Like, okay, no. And so that's like our hope and
- 21:04Speaker 1: prayer is that, um, you would find like a part
- 21:09Speaker 1: of home here, you know, but also to be able
- 21:13Speaker 1: to share different episodes with a friend that you know
- 21:16Speaker 1: is going through something that maybe was shared or talked about,
- 21:19Speaker 1: you know, and that it would bring like unite us
- 21:22Speaker 1: all together in a way that there's so much like
- 21:27Speaker 1: it's comparison and competition and who, you know, has the
- 21:31Speaker 1: last word and who does this not. And like, it's like,
- 21:33Speaker 1: let's just get rid of all of that. because none
- 21:36Speaker 1: of it matters here. Like we wanted the most, the
- 21:38Speaker 1: simplest stage. This isn't even a stage. We wanted the
- 21:41Speaker 1: simplest room. We want to be wearing the simplest things.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Like we want nothing more than like to point people
- 21:47Speaker 1: to hope, um, which that is Jesus. And then to
- 21:52Speaker 1: point people to whatever and whomever, you know, um, they
- 21:57Speaker 1: can find that from like healing and connection, but really
- 22:01Speaker 1: it's connection, you know, cause we all have it. Um,
- 22:05Speaker 1: in our, like in our neighborhoods, in our towns. And
- 22:08Speaker 1: it's just, are we, do we know how to make
- 22:12Speaker 1: those connections?
- 22:12Speaker 2: Right.
- 22:13Speaker 1: And so that's our hope for this.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I spot on. I think there's just, there's
- 22:19Speaker 2: such power, like being part of, you know, group therapy
- 22:23Speaker 2: or men's group where, or just friends groups where like
- 22:29Speaker 2: real conversations are had, especially like, I'll just like example
- 22:34Speaker 2: of men's groups that I've been, part of where it's,
- 22:37Speaker 2: so it's like not in our DNA to like be
- 22:40Speaker 2: vulnerable or surrender or show our true colors. Like this,
- 22:44Speaker 2: it is what this is, you know.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Especially as an athlete.
- 22:48Speaker 2: 100%. Like you can't show your weaknesses. Like, oh, if
- 22:50Speaker 2: I know what's the karate kid where he's got the
- 22:54Speaker 2: bum leg, sweep the leg, sweep the leg, Johnny. Well,
- 22:56Speaker 2: he's sweeping his leg because he sees the weakness. Well,
- 22:58Speaker 2: that's not our goal. Like our goal is like, let's be.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Crowdy kid. I know we're going to go there at
- 23:04Speaker 1: some point.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah. But all to say that is like, yeah, when you,
- 23:10Speaker 2: when you have those conversations, like I've been part of
- 23:13Speaker 2: so many groups where men or women are talking or
- 23:18Speaker 2: couples are talking and they bring up something that I
- 23:21Speaker 2: didn't even know. Oh man, me too. And I even
- 23:25Speaker 2: thought about it, but there are, there's so many me too,
- 23:28Speaker 2: moments and it's just the reminder of like we're not
- 23:30Speaker 2: alone and you know the the struggles the addictions the
- 23:34Speaker 2: the fights the wins the challenges like we're.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Not alone yeah it's not we're in.
- 23:39Speaker 2: This together and yeah we hope we can just be
- 23:42Speaker 2: part of your.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Village hey guys thank you so much for being here
- 23:45Speaker 1: and just it means so much to us that you
- 23:48Speaker 1: take the time to um just check in whether you're
- 23:52Speaker 1: in your car whether you're going for a run um
- 23:56Speaker 1: whatever it is, we're just grateful that you're here. And
- 23:59Speaker 1: we hope that you have gained something from this, whether
- 24:03Speaker 1: it's hope, whether it's something practical we said, but we're
- 24:07Speaker 1: just really grateful for you coming into our home and
- 24:12Speaker 1: for bringing us into your home with you. And until
- 24:15Speaker 1: next time, Nolses, out. Thank you for spending time with us.
