- 0:00SPEAKER_00: You're thinking it's going to be super easy and super simple.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Maybe you've been failing for a long time at trying to torch off any kind of body fat at all.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: I know online there's going to be places that are telling you it's so simple.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Really, you're silly for not having done it sooner.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: I thought that as well till I got into my 50s and I was starting to face obstacles that I didn't expect.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Of course, when you're younger, you kind of think that longevity is going to just continue forever.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: But when you get older, things start to break down and you have pains that really start to, well, burden you.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: And that is something very similar to what happened to me.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: But what I finally realized is it's the consistency that makes it all work.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: It's taking whatever diet, whatever plan, whatever way you're going to be able to access the stored body fat.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: And if you are fat and if you are overweight, it's a storage issue.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Why are you storing more calories, more in the form of fat, than you actually expend on a daily basis?
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Now people say, well, go out, all you have to do is move more and eat less.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of why sometimes that wouldn't be the case.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: If you're eating all your days' worth of calories in donuts, X Cop here, or all your daily calories in broccoli, there's going to be a difference in your physical makeup.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: So having said that, it really is what you eat.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: So the five things that I believe are probably the easiest to wrap my mind around, and I've heard this from Dr.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Andrew Huberman, if you want to follow him as well.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Meat, eggs, fish, vegetables.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: So you stay there.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Those are the things you should eat.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Yes, wonderful, palatable.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: They're not pizza, they're not pastries, they're not different pasta dishes.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: They're not the things that normally we go to, maybe for comfort, maybe for some kind of emotional support.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Whatever the reason, whatever your background, it's time to understand this.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: You have baggage, we all do.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Maybe you're eating because of some variants, eating because of that reason.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Maybe you go to the grocery store and you buy way too much food.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: And maybe then before you get home, after you bought all this wonderful food, this healthy food, you say, you know what, I'm going to hit this drive-thru on the way home.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Just sh by sheer programming alone.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Because you're basically on autopilot, as I used to be, I used to end up in the drive-thru at Jack in the Box and many other restaurants, overeating even after I had gone to the grocery store and purchased food to eat.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: It was just a vicious cycle.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Breaking out of that's going to be the trick, and you only do that because you become consistent in a particular method or way that you're going to solve it once and for all.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Understand this as well.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: The goal isn't always going to be expected.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: In fact, a goal might continue to evade you for the rest of your life.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: But I do know when I started my 135-pound transformation to lose fat, I realized that after about 50 or 60 pounds, when I was continuing to do the work in the right way, with a majority of the time having won in all of my individual battles, the individual battles are you ending up in the drive-thru, you going over to some friends or family house, family's house already having eaten for the but because they've prepared this great spread, you want to jump into that and eat as well.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Use an excuse.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: It's the same thing as somebody like myself who's quit alcohol, going to a place, somebody's, oh my God, just have one drink.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Even at wakes and funerals, oh, you just got to give it up for Mickey.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: You just have to have one drink in his honor.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: In fact, you succeed.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Is one gonna kill you?
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: It may.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: I know a lot of people that maybe start with one drink after they think they can handle it because they've been on the wagon or they've quit years and years or all of a sudden, three weeks later, they wake up in the park.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Watch out for that.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And the same thing works with food.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Food is incredibly addictive, at least the processed food, the stuff in the wrappers, the stuff at restaurants.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: I know I'm telling you things you already know, but sometimes it really helps to hear these things.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: What's wrong with you is more than likely the things that you're eating are being stored on your body as fat.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: The things that are most likely to be stored as fat on your body are going to be the high carbohydrate processed food foods.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: They go right into your body and it's difficult to access the stored fat, but it does create it.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: So you have some caloric expenditure from the food that you eat and the sugar that you've ingested, but the rest of it gets put on your body as storage.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: You can try elliptical, you can try bikes, you can try walking, you can try running, you can try weightlifting to try to over that metabolic issue is impossible.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: That's why you have to first control what you're eating.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Don't eat anything processed.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: And again, just try to eat those five basic things.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: And with the fruit, I know fruit was part of the five.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Don't overdo it with the fruit.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Don't get crazy with the fruit.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Don't start eating an entire pound of grapes or whatever it may be.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Just again, your eating needs to move from being something that you do for enjoyment purposes, recreation, out of sheer boredom to doing something else.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So the other technique that I believe really does help people is you need to replace the moments that you have, those sit-down eat moments in the evening, maybe that's your week, five, six, seven o'clock, or eight o'clock before when everybody's in bed, you've already put everybody asleep, or you alone start to eat things that you shouldn't, then you go right to bed afterwards.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: You haven't given your body to deal with that, so most of that stuff, especially processed, is going to be stored.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: To access the stored body fat on your frame, you have to cut out the sugar and move your body into a state of ketosis.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: What that means is if you eat those five things I talked about and limit, you eventually, most people will get ketosically now instead of burning sugar and carbohydrates as your primary fuel, you are now burning the stored body fat as your primary fuel.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: The longer you're in that range, the more fat you'll access, and the better off your body will be to be able to metabolize and burn off that fat.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Over time, you will start to see shrinkage.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: In fact, rather quickly, you're going to lose quite a bit of weight.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: That weight, however, most of it's going to be water weight.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: When you're fat, you have a lot of excess inflammation in most cases.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So whenever you get hurt, things are going to swell up.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: You might even look at your feed and have never seen them as not as puffy as they are.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's been many years.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: So when you start to hydrates in the sugar, your body doesn't hold on to all the excess water and starts to let go of that as well.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: So you see a large decrease on the scale.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Again, weight, not fat.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: The fat does come.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Here's something else I'll throw out here.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: And I know I'm shotgunning a lot of this, but the one of the biggest things that helped me is I totally listened to a lot of my favorite podcasts.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: I read books.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: I crawled down the rabbit hole.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: And eventually I heard something that stuck.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Something that hit my mind.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: So, oh my gosh, that's perfect.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what I'm going to do.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm going to use.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So I try to throw out all these different things.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: And every video I produce, in order to do that, elicit some type of commitment that you can make with yourself so that you can start your process.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: There's no money in this for me.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: I don't do this because I have some fat-torching channel.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: I do, but it's not monetized.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: I sell real estate.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: That's what I do.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: But I see how people continue to struggle with being fat and obese, and I did that all my life.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: And it's like the same reason I got into real estate was because I got screwed horribly on the first house I bought back in the mid-90s.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: So I got my real estate license and I got into that business, and I I vowed to myself that I would never let anyone working with me ever get taken in a real estate transaction.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: So then I finally figured out the solution to getting off my body fat and building up my body with muscle.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: And I realized that you can do this as well.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: If I can, you can.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: I know everybody says it, but really it's about forgiving yourself.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: So whenever I started out, started the longer fasts, I screwed them up after I fasted for two or three days.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: Great job, Connor.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: I would go out and I would reward myself with a bunch of crap.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: And that doesn't help.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: You're not helping the process.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: Basically, I'm now causing other issues because I've gone without food, my digestive system has been shut down, then all of a sudden I'm eating the worst types of things to break the fast or as breakfast.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Horrible idea.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: But I had to learn and thank God that learning didn't take me down another rabbit hole.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: But if I was angry at myself for that, if I was upset at myself for breaking the deal by sabotaging myself, it didn't help either.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: I would just continue because I was so angry.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: If that's you, then you need to forgive yourself and have more good time in the eating plan than bad time.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: Maybe that'll help.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor with Honor.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: We'll see you in the next one.
