- 1:22Speaker 2: progress here at the quarter pole checkpoint of the season,
- 1:25Speaker 2: the essence of shot volume and healthy expectations for Jared
- 1:30Speaker 2: McCann whenever he is due back in the lineup. Ian
- 1:33Speaker 2: Fornash joining us here in just a bit. More on mccam,
- 1:37Speaker 2: by the way, he was seen in practice on Tuesday
- 1:40Speaker 2: at Kracken Community Ice plugs still on injury reserve, but
- 1:43Speaker 2: Lane Lambert's saying he is quote progressing end quote and
- 1:47Speaker 2: taking line rushes with Berkeley Katton and Shane Wright. Jared
- 1:51Speaker 2: mccahn looking to get back into the lineup here, possibly
- 1:54Speaker 2: for the first time since October eighteenth, will certainly keep
- 1:57Speaker 2: an eye on it well. The Kraken, coming off a
- 2:00Speaker 2: road trip where they snagged five points out of a
- 2:03Speaker 2: possible eight with wins through Chicago and Pittsburgh on the
- 2:07Speaker 2: back end, of a loss to Detroit to open the trip,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and then the trip closing out with the one nothing
- 2:13Speaker 2: shootout loss to the New York Islanders with a crack
- 2:16Speaker 2: and again struggling to provide offense, but goaltending very much
- 2:20Speaker 2: taking center stage for this season.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Six fifty left here in this second period bowl Horvat
- 2:28Speaker 3: left side, walks in down the slot, shut right on
- 2:32Speaker 3: by Barzel and a massive save by Joey the cor

- 2:43Speaker 3: high slot, says to lacross.
- 2:44Speaker 4: One a same by Joey the court on bawl Horvat,
- 2:47Speaker 4: Oh good, now this one cleared all the way down
- 2:51Speaker 4: the ice. We're going to a shootout here on Long Island.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Paul Marry down for the Islanders.
- 2:59Speaker 5: I'll marry.
- 3:00Speaker 4: It's the signal.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Picks up the puck on the forehead.
- 3:04Speaker 4: He's got speed, left circle, far side, Clus back to
- 3:07Speaker 4: the middle. Hey shot, He scores and the Islanders get
- 3:13Speaker 4: the extra point. They win this game won nothing in
- 3:18Speaker 4: a shootout.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Joey de Kortz nagged his second shutout of the regular season.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Seventh of his NHL career, and that count of because
- 3:25Speaker 2: the score was nothing nothing at the end of overtime,
- 3:28Speaker 2: while David Riddick earned a shutout of his own, capped
- 3:32Speaker 2: up by Kyle Palmery's shootout winner won nothing. The Islanders
- 3:36Speaker 2: over the Kraken in the shootout at Ubs are Gona
- 3:39Speaker 2: on Sunday. Let's talk about the road ahead. All right,
- 3:42Speaker 2: road trip in the rearview mirror. Good to be back
- 3:44Speaker 2: home for at least a couple around Thanksgiving. Almost kind
- 3:49Speaker 2: of feels bizarre to have so much time off now,
- 3:51Speaker 2: with practices, days off, Thanksgiving, everything, But that's the beauty
- 3:55Speaker 2: of the NHL season. Ebs and flows He and Farnessa
- 3:58Speaker 2: is also ready here for this one and ready for
- 4:01Speaker 2: Thanksgiving TV hosts of Chorus, Crack and Hockey Network. One
- 4:04Speaker 2: of three here on these airwaves ninety three three kJ
- 4:07Speaker 2: RFM mayor Hello, you're right here for Thanksgiving.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Quote. I'm pretty close, how about you.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I'm close from the fact that I have the food
- 4:18Speaker 2: planned out, which I guess you know. You know me,
- 4:21Speaker 2: I tend to be wired to gravitate toward food, so
- 4:25Speaker 2: I've got that all mapped out here. The only concern
- 4:27Speaker 2: is because I've got I've got two kids who were
- 4:30Speaker 2: growing up. Just basically make sure they behave and also
- 4:33Speaker 2: stay out of the pantry.
- 4:34Speaker 5: I love it, love it. Yeah, I got it, I
- 4:36Speaker 5: got my I got my shopping done. Brian in the
- 4:39Speaker 5: Turkey right now, the whole nine yards. So yeah, we're
- 4:41Speaker 5: ready to rock and all that. Yeah, absolutely, that's gonna
- 4:45Speaker 5: be a lot of fun.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Well, let's get this game going here as a nice
- 4:49Speaker 2: precursor for Thanksgiving, and I'll just kind of hit refreshed
- 4:53Speaker 2: on a few things that we talked about on Cracking Weekly,
- 4:56Speaker 2: but would love your input. And I think, first off,
- 4:59Speaker 2: when you measure the bar from the road trip this
- 5:01Speaker 2: last week Detroit and then the two wins at Chicago
- 5:05Speaker 2: and Pittsburgh, and then I mean, you're scraping bottom of
- 5:09Speaker 2: the barrel for the back to back and you hold
- 5:11Speaker 2: the Islanders to nothing through sixty five minutes, but it
- 5:15Speaker 2: ends up in a one nothing shootout loss. You get
- 5:18Speaker 2: five points out of eight off the table. How did
- 5:21Speaker 2: that meet your bar from this past four game road trip?
- 5:24Speaker 5: Fly? It was a good trip. I mean two, one, one,
- 5:27Speaker 5: five of eight in terms of points, only one regulation loss,
- 5:31Speaker 5: A couple of wins. You had to do it the
- 5:33Speaker 5: hard way, dramatic fashion, all those things. But yeah, man,
- 5:36Speaker 5: I thought it was It was a good trip. I
- 5:38Speaker 5: don't think you can ever you come back from a
- 5:40Speaker 5: road trip above five hundred. I think you're in pretty
- 5:42Speaker 5: good shape and you know, you know, hopefully this team
- 5:45Speaker 5: will get some guys back. I mean, scoring still an issue. Defensively,
- 5:49Speaker 5: they've been fantastic and you know, for being honest, they've
- 5:52Speaker 5: they've stolen some games this season in goal like there's
- 5:54Speaker 5: no doubt, like they they got goalied by Katy to Smith,
- 5:58Speaker 5: who I asson will see tonight for Dallas and Sauers
- 6:01Speaker 5: going on against Edmonston. But I you know, for the
- 6:05Speaker 5: most part since Seattle doing that to a lot of
- 6:07Speaker 5: other teams, giving them the old goalie treatment. And Joey
- 6:10Speaker 5: and Krubauer played great. Murray when he was in there,
- 6:12Speaker 5: and they stole some points with those guys, so they
- 6:15Speaker 5: need to start helping them out at the other end offensively.
- 6:17Speaker 5: But you have to feel good about a road trip
- 6:19Speaker 5: when you come back above that five hundred. Bark.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'll get to the offense in a bit, and I
- 6:23Speaker 2: think shot volume kind of goes hand in hand with this,
- 6:26Speaker 2: and we asked Lane Lambert about this after practice the
- 6:30Speaker 2: other day when they got back at crack In Community
- 6:33Speaker 2: ice Plex. But I wanted to touch on and we
- 6:36Speaker 2: had a very very spirited and it kind of reached
- 6:39Speaker 2: here to the point maybe admittedly of even fiery about
- 6:43Speaker 2: the usage of the word boring when it comes to
- 6:46Speaker 2: describing a hockey team and a team that also has
- 6:51Speaker 2: been destined. And they have set it from the very
- 6:54Speaker 2: very top of this from this season to play within
- 6:57Speaker 2: a certain sound defensive structure and to suppressed shots, being
- 7:01Speaker 2: that they feel it is the best chance here to victory.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I get it that they don't score a lot of goals.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I get it that they have been trailing in a
- 7:11Speaker 2: lot of very important metrics under the hood. And you
- 7:15Speaker 2: touched on this as well too. They've had us to
- 7:17Speaker 2: heal some games.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Now.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I really kind of give credit here to a guy,
- 7:20Speaker 2: a friend of ours named Ryan Clark of ESPN, who
- 7:23Speaker 2: pointed this out the other day five on five. Guess
- 7:27Speaker 2: who's got the best team say percentage in the National
- 7:30Speaker 2: Hockey League none other than the Seattle Kraken at nine
- 7:35Speaker 2: to three seven, barely above Minnesota at nine to three.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Three as of this recording, and trailing them the New
- 7:44Speaker 2: York Rangers, the Dallas Stars, the Colorado Avalanche, and the
- 7:49Speaker 2: Washington Capitals as well. How do you define this team
- 7:54Speaker 2: through the twenty five percent checkpoint of the season?
- 7:57Speaker 5: Ian, Well, if you described it, well, great goaltending so
- 8:01Speaker 5: far and uh and then defensively and the defensive structure
- 8:06Speaker 5: has been so solid it it's allowed them to stay
- 8:09Speaker 5: in games. You know, they We've talked about it, You've
- 8:12Speaker 5: talked about it with everybody else on these podcasts. It
- 8:15Speaker 5: doesn't matter about you know, like they don't have the
- 8:18Speaker 5: aircraft carry offensive guy, they don't have a I mean
- 8:22Speaker 5: certainly they don't have a forty plus goal scorer on
- 8:25Speaker 5: their roster right now, not in terms of the canal
- 8:27Speaker 5: for a good chunk of the year.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And I will add to this here as well too,
- 8:30Speaker 2: because I mean again, winning does not mean boring. Winning
- 8:34Speaker 2: means excitement. And I can't go back and help myself.
- 8:37Speaker 2: But remember after the winning is Pittsburgh, how many fans
- 8:40Speaker 2: came up to us at thirty two Bar and Grill
- 8:43Speaker 2: and said, I'm having so much fun watching this team.
- 8:47Speaker 5: Yeah, winning's funny. Well, winning's fun, you know, winning's fun
- 8:50Speaker 5: and they you know, like I said, they don't have
- 8:53Speaker 5: that guy too. They don't have that guy that's going
- 8:56Speaker 5: to score at an elite raid or guy is Quirl.
- 9:00Speaker 5: So they're going to have to do it by committee,
- 9:01Speaker 5: and they're going to have to play great defense and
- 9:03Speaker 5: prevent the other team from scoring. I mean, as we
- 9:05Speaker 5: stand right now, they're number two in the league goals
- 9:07Speaker 5: against per game, five behind only the juggernaut that is Colorado.
- 9:13Speaker 5: So you know, the printing problem is there. Twenty nine
- 9:15Speaker 5: is scoring goals per game. But but you know, I
- 9:19Speaker 5: think what Lane did is he went in there and yeah,
- 9:21Speaker 5: Lane's got a system that he goes by and it's
- 9:24Speaker 5: very structured what he does. And it's a smart play
- 9:27Speaker 5: because without having that high end of week offensive talent,
- 9:30Speaker 5: then how do you find a way to stay in
- 9:31Speaker 5: every game and win. Well, you do it. What he's
- 9:33Speaker 5: doing it play great defense, play great you're on end,
- 9:35Speaker 5: you know, prevent other opportunities, and then see what you
- 9:38Speaker 5: can do, you know, offensively and on the power play.
- 9:40Speaker 5: And that's what they've done and is so far it's
- 9:42Speaker 5: worked well. I mean, he plays Every game is close,
- 9:44Speaker 5: with one exception. Every game's tight. You know, they they're
- 9:49Speaker 5: rarely really out of it again with one exception, and
- 9:53Speaker 5: you know, as long as they can avoid the damn shootouts,
- 9:55Speaker 5: they'll even better. Right.
- 9:58Speaker 2: We we into this in deep detail about just how
- 10:03Speaker 2: valuable the shootout is. Do we even like the idea
- 10:06Speaker 2: here for the future and friends, you want to go
- 10:08Speaker 2: ahead and check that out deep dive Cracking wheatly also
- 10:10Speaker 2: up on the iHeartRadio app. But it also kind of
- 10:13Speaker 2: goes hand in hand here. I think with what you
- 10:15Speaker 2: mentioned the lack of an aircraft carrier, and I think
- 10:18Speaker 2: with changing the mindset of how they have to generate offense.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And Lane Lambert went into this after practice more about
- 10:27Speaker 2: shot volume and with what he's trying to do to
- 10:31Speaker 2: help this team pull the trigger a little bit more.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Here's Lane Lambert.
- 10:35Speaker 6: You know what that's You know, they're not wrong in
- 10:38Speaker 6: some of those situations either, But at the end of
- 10:41Speaker 6: the day, there's also the there's also the philosophy that
- 10:46Speaker 6: shots create shots in terms of rebounds, and you know
- 10:50Speaker 6: there's a chances, B chances see chances and C chances
- 10:53Speaker 6: or C shots can create an a chance off a rebounds,
- 10:56Speaker 6: So you know it's there's there's certainly a balancer. Sometimes
- 11:01Speaker 6: you take a sea shot and it is turnover. But
- 11:05Speaker 6: at the end of the day, you know, you can't
- 11:06Speaker 6: score if you don't shoot the pucket.
- 11:08Speaker 2: The context of this question was framed that some players
- 11:12Speaker 2: came up in systems and this has kind of been
- 11:14Speaker 2: more prevalent over the last five ten years, where you
- 11:18Speaker 2: almost had to look for a perfect shot because if
- 11:22Speaker 2: you don't a shot on goal basically maybe no better
- 11:26Speaker 2: than your average turnover. But now Lane Lambert is encouraging
- 11:30Speaker 2: guys to shoot, shoot and shoot more. So what do
- 11:32Speaker 2: you make out of this now at this point of
- 11:34Speaker 2: the season, Ian Oh.
- 11:35Speaker 5: I think what he said is one hundred percent accurate.
- 11:37Speaker 5: The last in league and shots on goal for games,
- 11:39Speaker 5: so I mean you're thirty second in the league. That
- 11:42Speaker 5: it's just you have to generate more offense and you know,
- 11:46Speaker 5: traffic in front of the net. I mean, how many
- 11:48Speaker 5: times do we see just on this road trip, when
- 11:51Speaker 5: traffic in front of the net height shots, deflections off,
- 11:55Speaker 5: you know, a double deflection for and again, to be
- 11:58Speaker 5: honest with you, and puck goes into the back and
- 12:00Speaker 5: then they're going back in the net. Des bye, you know,
- 12:02Speaker 5: playing it around the perimator and playing you know, in
- 12:05Speaker 5: the passing game on the outside and playing like a
- 12:07Speaker 5: three man league or something that the puck's not going
- 12:09Speaker 5: to go in. It has to get to the net.
- 12:11Speaker 5: And and I think it'll get to the net. I
- 12:13Speaker 5: think we'll see that, you know, more and more of
- 12:15Speaker 5: than you know. They give a can back and get
- 12:17Speaker 5: compo coco back. I think that'll help. But they just
- 12:20Speaker 5: have to shoot the puck one. I mean, I think
- 12:21Speaker 5: you see it all the time. You see guys trying
- 12:23Speaker 5: to make the extra pass as you know, thinking about
- 12:25Speaker 5: that too much. I love what Lane said. I love
- 12:27Speaker 5: that's the message, because yeah, shoot the pucks, big rebound
- 12:30Speaker 5: bang in a second chance opportunity. The way you go.
- 12:33Speaker 5: I think they are looking from the perfect shot all
- 12:34Speaker 5: too often, and we've seen that and so hopefully they
- 12:37Speaker 5: can change that that that mindset, so we'll see it.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Almost kind of feels like we've been waiting on pins
- 12:42Speaker 2: and needles her last several days for Jared McCann and
- 12:46Speaker 2: finally a day that he'll be back here into the lineup,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and it seems maybe as if practice told us a
- 12:52Speaker 2: lot with him in a regular jersey taking line rushes
- 12:56Speaker 2: with Berkeley Catton and Shane Wright as well. But once
- 12:59Speaker 2: he gets back to you, what are healthy expectations for
- 13:04Speaker 2: McCann once he is back to the final.
- 13:07Speaker 5: You know, Mike, I he's the best goal scorer, so
- 13:11Speaker 5: I think, you know, I think it's nothing else. He
- 13:14Speaker 5: makes somebody else run him better, Like he just raises
- 13:17Speaker 5: the boat, right, So I think with him in the lineup,
- 13:19Speaker 5: they get their better, they're a better hockey team. He
- 13:22Speaker 5: can obviously score at a higher rate. And as you know,
- 13:26Speaker 5: I mean just he's just a good finisher, you know,
- 13:29Speaker 5: and I think he'll make, you know, depending on where
- 13:31Speaker 5: he's playing. I mean, I know the line rushes were
- 13:33Speaker 5: interesting on on Tuesday for sure, but depending where he's playing,
- 13:37Speaker 5: I mean, we know he's got chemistry with every lead
- 13:39Speaker 5: before and Beneer's and whomever. So I'm excited to see
- 13:42Speaker 5: him play. I'm excited to see him be in there.
- 13:43Speaker 5: And they frankly need him, to be honest with you,
- 13:45Speaker 5: they really do need him. They he's a big part
- 13:48Speaker 5: of their team. And you know, again without having you know,
- 13:52Speaker 5: they don't have Nathan McKinnon and Connor McDavid whatever, But
- 13:56Speaker 5: you know, he's as important to the crack and as
- 13:59Speaker 5: those guys that I just mentioned art of their teams,
- 14:02Speaker 5: they have to get him in there. And I think
- 14:04Speaker 5: once he does come back, I think it will elevate
- 14:05Speaker 5: the whole thing.
- 14:06Speaker 2: This is one idea that we've run across before, just
- 14:09Speaker 2: kind of an off air conversations and something that to
- 14:12Speaker 2: our dear colleague and friend, Andrews Furst would be just
- 14:14Speaker 2: completely giddy about and like it's basically a Christmas present
- 14:19Speaker 2: coming early here where you go with a three four
- 14:21Speaker 2: to two defenseman set up here for the power play,
- 14:24Speaker 2: which then bumps Brandon Ontur up to the top unit.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Different conversation there, but in theory then maybe for the
- 14:31Speaker 2: second unit that would open up something for Ryker Evans
- 14:35Speaker 2: to operate more. And I lead into this from what
- 14:41Speaker 2: I just mentioned here. Ryker Evans since he came back,
- 14:44Speaker 2: first nine games, he's got six points now, pretty solid.
- 14:49Speaker 2: And we've been talking a lot about Vince Dunn and
- 14:51Speaker 2: his impact, Brandon Ontour and his impact offensively. But what
- 14:56Speaker 2: do you make so far out of Ryker Evans because
- 14:58Speaker 2: he's been getting a lot more ice time, especially the
- 15:00Speaker 2: last few games here.
- 15:01Speaker 5: Well, I, first of all, I think you know the
- 15:03Speaker 5: two defensemen. I think we all been kind of pounting
- 15:05Speaker 5: the drums and saying, please let that happen, just to
- 15:07Speaker 5: get done in Montour out there. I know that there's
- 15:10Speaker 5: maybe you know, with so who comes off at that point? Right,
- 15:14Speaker 5: is it march Men? Probably trust to think PP one
- 15:17Speaker 5: who'd come up? Yeah?
- 15:19Speaker 2: So yeah, so so practice wise PP one you had
- 15:24Speaker 2: done at the point. Then spread across Stevenson ever Lee McCann,
- 15:28Speaker 2: then Veneer's front of the net.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Well that's PP one. See, I don't think they're going
- 15:32Speaker 5: to go to defenseman because PP two is what is it? Montour?
- 15:35Speaker 2: You got Monsur on the point, then across you got
- 15:37Speaker 2: march Mint right Tolnan, and then Jayden Swartz front of
- 15:40Speaker 2: the net.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think you're going to I don't think
- 15:42Speaker 5: you're going to go too defensemen. I just don't. You know,
- 15:46Speaker 5: here's the thing. It's nice to have Ryker Evans as
- 15:48Speaker 5: a young guy who's your third one if you need
- 15:50Speaker 5: to or at the end of a power play put
- 15:52Speaker 5: him out there or like we've seen this, guys don't
- 15:55Speaker 5: stay healthy. I mean, Ryker will get his opportunities, but
- 15:57Speaker 5: I I yea his offensive game is flourished. He's always
- 15:59Speaker 5: got a little meat to a mean street. He plays hard,
- 16:02Speaker 5: he plays with an edge. But the offense is coming
- 16:05Speaker 5: to which is good to see, and they need it
- 16:07Speaker 5: because this is a team that, as you know, if
- 16:09Speaker 5: they don't generate offense from the blue line, they're not
- 16:11Speaker 5: gonna win. It's just as simple as that.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Uh.
- 16:14Speaker 5: And they've always been near the last couple three years,
- 16:16Speaker 5: different coaches, that's the same thing. They've been near the
- 16:18Speaker 5: top of the league in terms of scoring from defenseman
- 16:20Speaker 5: that has That is not changing obviously with the years
- 16:23Speaker 5: that done and Montour and as you mentioned, Riker are
- 16:26Speaker 5: having with Rykers getting back in the lineup, and you know,
- 16:29Speaker 5: guys like Jimmy Lexiak chipping stuff in as well. Uh No,
- 16:33Speaker 5: I think they're I think they're fine with what they got.
- 16:35Speaker 2: We've seen Dallas already once and we talked with Mason
- 16:38Speaker 2: Marchman where it has a bit of a different feel
- 16:40Speaker 2: compared to his first trip out there against the Stars.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But you're always looking to beat the team that traded you,
- 16:45Speaker 2: and we can maybe kind of bank on that for
- 16:47Speaker 2: a bit of a bit of an emotional boost here.
- 16:49Speaker 2: But it leads into a pretty interesting slate of games
- 16:54Speaker 2: from now all the way until Christmas, Dallas set Home,
- 16:59Speaker 2: Edmund Road, including two straight games Detroit at home, the
- 17:04Speaker 2: Wild at home, the Kings at home, Utah on the road,
- 17:08Speaker 2: Buffalo who's playing better at home? The ten thousand pounds
- 17:13Speaker 2: juggernaut called the Colorado Avalanche at home, and then four
- 17:16Speaker 2: games on the road Calgary, San Jose, Anaheim and the Kings,
- 17:22Speaker 2: and boom, You're at the holiday break scale of one
- 17:25Speaker 2: to tenian. How critical is this next wretch of games
- 17:30Speaker 2: to define the Craken season?
- 17:31Speaker 5: Pretty massive. I'm still waiting to see when the easy
- 17:34Speaker 5: part of the schedule comes. When does that come? Like
- 17:36Speaker 5: men right right, like they don't get a break along
- 17:41Speaker 5: the way, Like if they you know, how many games
- 17:44Speaker 5: is that you just listened off?
- 17:45Speaker 2: Thirteen seven at home, six on the road.
- 17:50Speaker 5: So if you go, like, let's just for argue and
- 17:53Speaker 5: say they go seven and six, eighteen and eleven at
- 17:57Speaker 5: the break, you'll take that, right, Yeah, for sure? I
- 18:00Speaker 5: mean just I mean they built up a a nice
- 18:02Speaker 5: little cushion. I mean, six teams above five hundred. They
- 18:05Speaker 5: built up that nice cushion that allows them to play
- 18:07Speaker 5: some five hundred hockey for a while and and you know,
- 18:10Speaker 5: but I don't think they'll play five hundred hockey. If
- 18:12Speaker 5: they get m Cam back, I think they'll they'll be
- 18:14Speaker 5: better than that, you know. And we were just starting
- 18:17Speaker 5: to see Coppocock. We'll get a sea legs before he
- 18:19Speaker 5: got hurt that last game, scores a goal twelve seconds later,
- 18:22Speaker 5: He's done. Need him out there, and then you know,
- 18:24Speaker 5: we'll see what the young guys do. I would assume
- 18:26Speaker 5: if those guys come back, Berkeley's going to go to
- 18:28Speaker 5: World Juniors and probably get some confidence doing that. I
- 18:31Speaker 5: have a letter on his jersey and you know, for
- 18:34Speaker 5: Team Canada, which is big, and see what happens with him.
- 18:37Speaker 5: But I think, as you're going through all that stuff, Mikey,
- 18:40Speaker 5: I think if they just go a little bit above
- 18:42Speaker 5: five hundred and the next stretch before Christas break, that's
- 18:44Speaker 5: a that's a heck of a way to go.
- 18:46Speaker 2: And I'll let you go here with this because this
- 18:49Speaker 2: was a great male bag question. We didn't have enough
- 18:51Speaker 2: time to get to here for the other day, but
- 18:54Speaker 2: it was posed to us. You know, from this standpoint
- 18:57Speaker 2: where Berkeley Catton, it seems as if as made this
- 19:01Speaker 2: team full time. Now, So what is the point with
- 19:04Speaker 2: sending him to World Juniors. Well, you've seen this before.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I've seen this before. When you're going to play at
- 19:12Speaker 2: an international level to the point where you could be
- 19:15Speaker 2: one of their rock stars on that team letter on
- 19:18Speaker 2: your jersey as a leader, and you're facing your peer
- 19:21Speaker 2: group potentially pick him up more offense on top of that,
- 19:25Speaker 2: that's a valuable time. You're coming back with all of
- 19:28Speaker 2: a sudden in the middle of January.
- 19:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean that's why, that's why you go. And
- 19:32Speaker 5: then here's the thing that part of the two is
- 19:33Speaker 5: it if mc can's back, uh, and if Coppo cock
- 19:37Speaker 5: goes back, well then you've got then you've got stuff
- 19:40Speaker 5: with then you get not issues. But then you obviously
- 19:42Speaker 5: ice time starts to become more limited, right yep. As
- 19:45Speaker 5: as it is, Johny Newman is having a hard time
- 19:47Speaker 5: getting the lineup. You know, they got Mulgard up here
- 19:50Speaker 5: right now and and all those things. So what do
- 19:52Speaker 5: you do? You know, like you you ice time will
- 19:54Speaker 5: be limited as long as they're healthy. If they're healthy,
- 19:56Speaker 5: gets pushed down. You don't want him playing on a
- 19:58Speaker 5: fourth line. And so I think that that's part of
- 20:02Speaker 5: what that's part of what comes into play. I know
- 20:04Speaker 5: that it's talking to the Brad Lauer, that Spokane coach
- 20:07Speaker 5: who's on the Team Canada staff for World Juniors this year,
- 20:11Speaker 5: like they're not sure, Like they've got no guarantees the
- 20:15Speaker 5: person who's coming to the World Juniors. So like that
- 20:17Speaker 5: decision hasn't I don't want to say it hasn't been made,
- 20:20Speaker 5: but it at least it has not been articulated to
- 20:22Speaker 5: Team Kennedy, at least the coaches that whether or not
- 20:25Speaker 5: it's a sure thing he's going, there's a chance that
- 20:27Speaker 5: he does, say, but I think that depends on health.
- 20:28Speaker 5: If they're healthy. I think for sure he goes, and
- 20:30Speaker 5: I think it helped him. I think it'd be a
- 20:32Speaker 5: good it'd be good for him as well.
- 20:34Speaker 2: We can always depend on your health. And as far
- 20:36Speaker 2: as my health for Thanksgiving, my waistline might not as
- 20:40Speaker 2: be as so healthy at about this time coming up
- 20:42Speaker 2: here on Thursday, but I can easily cross my fingers
- 20:45Speaker 2: my friend though, have a great show and have a
- 20:48Speaker 2: happy Thanksgiving as well too.
