- 0:07Speaker 1: you by four Quadrons Advisory. On this podcast, we break
- 0:11Speaker 1: down the world of dentistry, finances and business practices to
- 0:14Speaker 1: help you become the millionaire dentists you deserve to be.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Please be advised we do speak with an honest tongue
- 0:19Speaker 1: and may not be safe for work.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Hello and welcome. This is Casey Hires back at the
- 0:26Speaker 2: Millionaire Dentnist Podcast in studio with co host Jared Bridgeman.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Casey, good morning.
- 0:30Speaker 2: How are you doing great?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Doing great? Doing great? Huh?
- 0:34Speaker 4: So you know in our office, we've we've got our
- 0:36Speaker 4: fantasy football leagues going on. I wanted to ask how
- 0:38Speaker 4: your team was doing.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Two and h two and oh all right, I don't
- 0:41Speaker 2: know half the people on my team. Okay, I don't.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I don't.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I don't follow it much like, yeah, you know, old man,
- 0:48Speaker 2: get off my lawn. I used to be obsessed with
- 0:51Speaker 2: the NFL and every player, and now I don't know
- 0:54Speaker 2: what it is. Man. It's just getting old. I don't
- 0:55Speaker 2: I don't care as much. No, I still want to win, right,
- 0:58Speaker 2: but for different it's it's I don't know, I don't
- 1:02Speaker 2: know half my roster. Yeah, like I was following them
- 1:05Speaker 2: back when you know Peyton Manning and his brother Adrian
- 1:08Speaker 2: Peterson and all that. I know those guys, I go
- 1:12Speaker 2: to draft them and oh, yeah they're retired. Who are
- 1:14Speaker 2: these new guys?
- 1:14Speaker 3: I don't know five years ago?
- 1:15Speaker 2: I don't know who they are? The heck is this?
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yeah that's uh that guy scoring thirty forty points. I'm like,
- 1:22Speaker 2: I don't even know where they went to college or
- 1:23Speaker 2: anything about it.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Either way, thank you? You know you know, all right,
- 1:28Speaker 3: I'm pulling for you.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I try not to uh put too much stock in it,
- 1:32Speaker 2: right right, Like people get mad. I saw there was
- 1:35Speaker 2: a couple and she basically was like, why is my
- 1:40Speaker 2: husband mad? For two days? When the Eagles lose? The
- 1:43Speaker 2: whole house has got a cloud over. The kids are like,
- 1:45Speaker 2: what's wrong with daddy? And the husbands like basically admitted, Yeah,
- 1:49Speaker 2: that's kind of foolish. What are we doing here?
- 1:51Speaker 3: That's so funny.
- 1:52Speaker 4: So I'm guessing what you're saying is is you're not
- 1:55Speaker 4: hoping to win and use that that win pool a
- 1:58Speaker 4: pot of money for your retirement.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah correct, Yeah, all right, we're not supposed to talk
- 2:03Speaker 2: about it off the books money.
- 2:04Speaker 3: That's right. I'm sorry. I meant to.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Casey.
- 2:07Speaker 4: All for fun, that's right, it's all for fun, you know,
- 2:10Speaker 4: being that old man yelling at clouds, get off my
- 2:13Speaker 4: off my yard kind of thing that makes me think of,
- 2:17Speaker 4: you know, a case that we run into here and there.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Which is like the the older jaded dentist.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Let's go negative today, let's do it.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Let's do it negative.
- 2:25Speaker 4: I mean, we've been too positive to our listeners and
- 2:28Speaker 4: it's time we really kicked them in the ass. But
- 2:32Speaker 4: I wanted to get your opinion on that, because you know,
- 2:34Speaker 4: you and your your team, you again or the boots
- 2:37Speaker 4: on the ground. You get to go out there and
- 2:38Speaker 4: you're you're you're speaking daily with with with a practice
- 2:42Speaker 4: owners and dentists.
- 2:44Speaker 3: What insight can you can you give me to the
- 2:48Speaker 3: this the Jada dentist.
- 2:49Speaker 4: I may have shown up to an event that maybe
- 2:51Speaker 4: at a conference and maybe you've gotten on the phone with.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the people listening. If it's not you, you
- 2:55Speaker 2: probably know somebody where they're they're burnt out in dentistry.
- 2:59Speaker 2: They're they're cynical, they're frustrated, it can't be done. It's
- 3:03Speaker 2: the then astry today, it's impossible to be profitable, right,
- 3:06Speaker 2: And I've been in rooms with these conversations. Right, we're
- 3:09Speaker 2: presenting on this subject matter, and we get into some
- 3:12Speaker 2: Q and A, and then you come across somebody who
- 3:14Speaker 2: you can just tell they have had it. And so
- 3:17Speaker 2: we're going to unpack some of that today, right, What
- 3:19Speaker 2: what are the things that that they say, some reality,
- 3:22Speaker 2: some excuses. What's that look like? Why is it impossible
- 3:26Speaker 2: to be profitable? And again you'll have somebody burnt out
- 3:28Speaker 2: and somebody next to them is printing money and doing
- 3:31Speaker 2: just fine, right, right, So what's the difference between these two? Yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 2: let's get into that.
- 3:35Speaker 4: And and you know, obviously this all falls right in
- 3:38Speaker 4: line with with who we are as a company and
- 3:41Speaker 4: what we provide and what we do. But you know,
- 3:45Speaker 4: I would in my mind, the top thing that sticks
- 3:48Speaker 4: out I hear a lot of things about from everybody
- 3:50Speaker 4: and our team is what can really bring a practice
- 3:54Speaker 4: down and make them feel feel you know, so jaden
- 3:56Speaker 4: and old and over. It is like the abundance of
- 4:00Speaker 4: insurance companies and making pennies on the dollars what you
- 4:03Speaker 4: could be making.
- 4:04Speaker 2: There's half a dozen excuses that you know, it's a reality.
- 4:07Speaker 2: In dentistry, the margin for profit, the margin for success
- 4:11Speaker 2: or the margin for air is much smaller now. You know,
- 4:14Speaker 2: people talk about maybe their mentor when they were starting out,
- 4:17Speaker 2: and the older dentists like the way dentistry was. It
- 4:21Speaker 2: seemed like there was a way to make more money
- 4:23Speaker 2: and enjoy dentistry and not have all these headwinds, have
- 4:26Speaker 2: all these obstacles in your way. But again, adapt or
- 4:30Speaker 2: or what right adapt or die? Is that the line?
- 4:33Speaker 2: I mean, that's a little that's a little darker. But
- 4:37Speaker 2: you know, hypothetically speaking some of the things I hear
- 4:40Speaker 2: from practice owners, it's sad because again, there are real
- 4:43Speaker 2: challenges that if you do not address them, you're going
- 4:45Speaker 2: to be frustrated.
- 4:48Speaker 4: And insurance can kick your butt, you know what I mean,
- 4:51Speaker 4: Like it's not some thing we're kind of poop pooing
- 4:55Speaker 4: over here.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So recently I was out west and you know,
- 4:59Speaker 2: this exact thing happened. Right, You have a very nice person,
- 5:03Speaker 2: the boy. When we started getting into the nuts and
- 5:04Speaker 2: bolts of the business side of dentistry, you could just
- 5:08Speaker 2: feel the frustration. Typically it starts when when when how
- 5:12Speaker 2: much longer do you want to practice. I want to
- 5:14Speaker 2: retire yesterday. That's kind of a tongue in cheek joke,
- 5:17Speaker 2: but that's typically the first thing, and then once you
- 5:19Speaker 2: start peeling the onion bag. Insurance and staff are really easy,
- 5:22Speaker 2: but as a practice owner resists the temptation to just
- 5:25Speaker 2: stay in that and just act like there's no way
- 5:29Speaker 2: out right. Insurance is tough, Insurance reimbursements. You're producing a
- 5:34Speaker 2: lot of dentistry, you're not getting paid. It's easy to
- 5:35Speaker 2: be pissed off at insurance. Understand that staff is hard.
- 5:39Speaker 2: It's hard to get a good staff. I even heard
- 5:43Speaker 2: one of there's so much better oral care these days
- 5:46Speaker 2: that there's just less tooth decay and less dentistry out there,
- 5:50Speaker 2: and I thought, I thought that was a stretch.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That seems like a bit much like that's that's well,
- 5:55Speaker 3: that's not plausible.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Then it got tied into so unless you are unethical
- 6:00Speaker 2: and doing unnecessary dentistry. Again, it's just impossible to be
- 6:03Speaker 2: successful in dentistry these days. Dentistry is a dying It
- 6:07Speaker 2: just it really goes to negative town again with a
- 6:09Speaker 2: small percentage of practice owners. But it's something I wanted
- 6:13Speaker 2: to talk about now.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Often the better oral thing does seem to kind of
- 6:17Speaker 3: throw me for a loop.
- 6:18Speaker 4: You know, I obviously am better about taking care of
- 6:20Speaker 4: my teeth now than I was when I was fourteen,
- 6:22Speaker 4: let's say, or whatever, but you know, I still go
- 6:25Speaker 4: twice a year. Maybe I just don't have you know,
- 6:28Speaker 4: mouthful cavities anymore.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Well as a patient, it's yeah, I don't have cavities. Yeah,
- 6:32Speaker 2: And I had a pretty pretty good checkup, right, I
- 6:35Speaker 2: guess to for a practice owner, all I'm doing is
- 6:39Speaker 2: right checking and cleaning and you know, minimal. I mean, yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 2: that's where they were going with that use. But I
- 6:47Speaker 2: just kind of looked at him like, huh, I.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Feel like he's been thinking about that in searching for
- 6:51Speaker 3: that real hard Why am I not doing so well?
- 6:53Speaker 2: It's got to be this, yeah, well, And it was
- 6:55Speaker 2: even tied to in the in this environment of corporate
- 6:59Speaker 2: dentistry in DSO, where they are potentially not all but
- 7:04Speaker 2: some are some maybe pushing excess dentistry and you know,
- 7:08Speaker 2: having it don to say, yeah, I had somebody go
- 7:10Speaker 2: to a corporate place and they seven cavities and you know,
- 7:13Speaker 2: twenty thousand dollars worth of work and they got a
- 7:15Speaker 2: second opinion, and then they look at it and go, uh, no,
- 7:18Speaker 2: you know, it's almost like taking your car to the
- 7:19Speaker 2: mechanic ooh, you know, let's go down that road. Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 2: took my car to the dealership because the air conditioning
- 7:26Speaker 2: goes out seventeen hundred dollars later, and they tell me
- 7:28Speaker 2: all this other stuff's wrong. And then we take it
- 7:30Speaker 2: to like a local reputable shop and they go, no,
- 7:34Speaker 2: it's just this little thing here and there. But no,
- 7:36Speaker 2: you're fine. It's like, huh, two different opinions, right, yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 2: And I think you've got to find your sweet spot
- 7:43Speaker 2: as a practice owner and again decide but what you want.
- 7:46Speaker 2: But I would just say insurance is hard. Yeah, so
- 7:50Speaker 2: you can either retreat or you can address it.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Staff's hard yep. Okay, Well, do you want to be
- 7:56Speaker 2: your hygiene department and the dentist or you know, you've
- 7:59Speaker 2: got to if you have so much control over the
- 8:02Speaker 2: staff too, pick something, choose your herd. We've been talking
- 8:05Speaker 2: about this. These things are hard, so you can either
- 8:08Speaker 2: step up and address them, or you can just bury
- 8:11Speaker 2: your head in the sand and just waddle around in
- 8:14Speaker 2: mud and be pissed off. I don't know, I mean
- 8:16Speaker 2: I said mud. It could have been I love the
- 8:18Speaker 2: do word.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Wattle made me laugh. That's what I got.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, I think, let me think about golf.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Most golfers when they talk about their game, they're frustrated.
- 8:27Speaker 2: They're frustrated they're not better. It's hard. They'll have some
- 8:31Speaker 2: good holes, some bad holes, a bad shot, a penalty,
- 8:34Speaker 2: they three putt. There's lots of things in golf that
- 8:36Speaker 2: can be hard. Yeah, well, you chose to buy golf
- 8:40Speaker 2: clubs and go to the golf course and pay to
- 8:42Speaker 2: go play golf, and then all you're gonna do is
- 8:44Speaker 2: bitch and moan about how hard it is. And then
- 8:47Speaker 2: the guy next to you, well, they actually go practice
- 8:49Speaker 2: and they get lessons and they they work on it,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and they're better at golf. And they look at the
- 8:53Speaker 2: bad golfer and they're like, well, you're throwing your clubs
- 8:56Speaker 2: and you're throwing a fit and you're hitting the ball
- 8:58Speaker 2: in the woods. Let's talk about why. When's the last
- 9:02Speaker 2: time you played, when's the last time you worked on
- 9:03Speaker 2: your putting? Or you're chipping, or you're like, if you
- 9:06Speaker 2: don't need to go to therapy, what's going on at home?
- 9:08Speaker 2: It is making any calls he to throw it. So
- 9:10Speaker 2: the analogy is you get some lessons, right, like go
- 9:13Speaker 2: to somebody who really is good and try to learn.
- 9:16Speaker 2: But you can't just complain that you stink at golf
- 9:20Speaker 2: and not do anything about it. There's anything in life
- 9:24Speaker 2: that's the case. But in dentistry, I just I see
- 9:26Speaker 2: it more and more because.
- 9:27Speaker 4: That's a cycle too. Oh, I feel bad about this.
- 9:30Speaker 4: I'm not doing very as much as good as I
- 9:32Speaker 4: want to. And then they just keep going hand in
- 9:33Speaker 4: hand as he's slipped further and further down.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it can't be me. It has to be something external.
- 9:39Speaker 2: So it's my clubs. It's yeah, it's my clubs. It's
- 9:43Speaker 2: it's had a bad lie right for the golf analogy
- 9:45Speaker 2: and to practice same thing. You can use these excuses
- 9:48Speaker 2: and not go anywhere with it, yep, or you can
- 9:50Speaker 2: decide to do something about it. At a conversation recently
- 9:54Speaker 2: with or Coo and he's like, again, so many people
- 9:59Speaker 2: think it's volume if I can just produce more and
- 10:01Speaker 2: have more volume, and a lot of this ties around
- 10:04Speaker 2: what we've already talked about. But a lot of times
- 10:07Speaker 2: it's not a volume issue. It's an efficiency issue, or
- 10:09Speaker 2: it's a profitability issue, because we see people like two
- 10:12Speaker 2: point five two point six two point eight three million,
- 10:16Speaker 2: and their next idea is to simply grow, grow, grow,
- 10:18Speaker 2: because they're a one trick pony. They don't know how
- 10:20Speaker 2: to do it. You have to have a good balance
- 10:23Speaker 2: of volume and efficiency and profitability and make your choice, like,
- 10:30Speaker 2: do something about it. But instead they go to their
- 10:32Speaker 2: dental society and just complain all night, right, and they
- 10:36Speaker 2: just want to have this like.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Peog appling to these younger dentists who are killing it.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, well some you know sometime, I mean, you know,
- 10:42Speaker 2: there was a specialists in the room and they're just like, yeah,
- 10:44Speaker 2: it's really hard, and others, you know, I could tell
- 10:47Speaker 2: that I could and afterwards they're like, hey, I'm really
- 10:50Speaker 2: sorry about how negative some of those people were. I'm
- 10:52Speaker 2: not having that experience. I didn't want to say anything, right,
- 10:56Speaker 2: but it's not that if they.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Did, it probably would have been a great scene. Yeah,
- 11:00Speaker 4: because I have an argument between.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Two people in the audience. But let me ask you, so,
- 11:04Speaker 3: you know we're talking about these these older data doctors.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Do you have any any advice or or things to
- 11:10Speaker 3: look at or start with that could maybe help them
- 11:13Speaker 3: start to climb out of that feeling and in their practice.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Well, in golf, it's get some lessons and spend some
- 11:20Speaker 2: time working on it. Yeah, with what we're talking about,
- 11:24Speaker 2: it's okay, these are the headwinds again, what are we
- 11:28Speaker 2: going to do about it? You have your choice. You
- 11:30Speaker 2: can do nothing, You can just try one or two things.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Well, yeah, you're right, and that's what that's what you said. Like,
- 11:36Speaker 4: it takes time. You need to take time to.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Master you know, or at least look at the numbers
- 11:41Speaker 3: and look at what you need to do, or you
- 11:43Speaker 3: could just for someone like us a call.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I mean obviously we help master these things, right,
- 11:49Speaker 2: but we can't help everybody.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Great golfer goes out and practices.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Well, that's it. And you and you've got to know
- 11:54Speaker 2: your You've got to know your numbers. And so if
- 11:56Speaker 2: you're somebody that's frustrated if you don't know your insurance adjustments,
- 11:59Speaker 2: you don't know your own head, your incomes low your
- 12:01Speaker 2: insurance if if all these things are unknown, well that's
- 12:05Speaker 2: your first issue. You have to get your arms that
- 12:06Speaker 2: you have to identify the problem, yep, and then make
- 12:09Speaker 2: a decision, what are the next steps?
- 12:10Speaker 3: Pull out?
- 12:11Speaker 4: Pulling out and looking at the bigger picture helps. For example, uh,
- 12:15Speaker 4: you know, this week, my wife and I have been
- 12:17Speaker 4: working on our redoing our budget and looking at our
- 12:19Speaker 4: spend what we do, and she, in a very nice text,
- 12:23Speaker 4: told me to stop effing shopping. So she told me,
- 12:27Speaker 4: and I was like, I don't feel like I spent
- 12:29Speaker 4: that much. And so I went through when I was
- 12:30Speaker 4: looking at my cards and all this stuff, and I
- 12:32Speaker 4: made a spreadsheet and then I looked at it and
- 12:34Speaker 4: I was like, over the past nine months, for the year,
- 12:37Speaker 4: what have I spent on my hobbies?
- 12:39Speaker 3: And it was more than I expected.
- 12:41Speaker 4: And so I was like, okay, you're right, maybe I
- 12:43Speaker 4: need to need to stop shopping as much.
- 12:44Speaker 3: All right, I'll kind of throw it out, but you know.
- 12:46Speaker 2: What I mean.
- 12:47Speaker 4: That was the whole idea is like a month to month,
- 12:48Speaker 4: I didn't didn't feel like I was doing bad.
- 12:51Speaker 3: But then I pulled back and I was like, oh,
- 12:52Speaker 3: I spent this much.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Well, it's easy to complain. I just need more, right,
- 12:56Speaker 2: to produce more dentistry or in this you know example
- 12:59Speaker 2: would be make I just need to make more. And again,
- 13:04Speaker 2: most people it's not about what you make, it's what
- 13:06Speaker 2: you spend. And you know, you could triple somebody's income
- 13:09Speaker 2: and they be in the same financial situation because they're
- 13:11Speaker 2: just going to buy more stuff though.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I'd buy three times as many board games.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yes, but you took the time to at least look
- 13:16Speaker 2: at some data and go huh. I could have gotten
- 13:19Speaker 2: defensive and just fought back and complained and said it's
- 13:21Speaker 2: not possible, or look at it and go no kidding,
- 13:24Speaker 2: maybe I did spend a little too much. Yeah, that's
- 13:26Speaker 2: a great first step, Like instead of just complaining, understand
- 13:29Speaker 2: where you're at.
- 13:31Speaker 4: The point I was trying to make is at home
- 13:33Speaker 4: in your practice, wherever the case may be, and what
- 13:36Speaker 4: you're doing knowing your numbers or at least as close
- 13:40Speaker 4: to a number as you can get. You know, there's
- 13:43Speaker 4: people out there like CPA, CFPS on an art firm
- 13:45Speaker 4: that will help you find these numbers and do those
- 13:48Speaker 4: kinds of things. But if you have no knowledge of
- 13:50Speaker 4: what of where to go or what to do, you're
- 13:52Speaker 4: gonna be stuck forever.
- 13:53Speaker 2: But to your point about learning about numbers, it's interesting
- 13:56Speaker 2: when you look at like a hygiene department or how
- 13:59Speaker 2: efficient or not efficient? Are they Maybe somebody has a
- 14:01Speaker 2: part time associate, maybe they take seven insurances and they're
- 14:07Speaker 2: working all this time. Again, business model, we talk about
- 14:09Speaker 2: this all the time. Do you want the volume shop
- 14:11Speaker 2: or do you want efficiency and profitability? Dropping insurances, making
- 14:15Speaker 2: sure you have right sized heigiene departments, making sure you
- 14:19Speaker 2: don't have too many associates, making sure you have the
- 14:21Speaker 2: right space. Why is your overhead high? Do you have
- 14:24Speaker 2: a custom chart of accounts or your taxes filed on time?
- 14:28Speaker 2: It's all connected. It's all connected, similar to golf, similar
- 14:31Speaker 2: to different things we're talking about.
- 14:33Speaker 4: And if you're not careful, one bad bad day, one
- 14:36Speaker 4: bad week, one bad tax, surprise can snowball if you
- 14:40Speaker 4: don't have other things and then working order.
- 14:42Speaker 2: The hard part is when I hear somebody complain, I'm
- 14:46Speaker 2: empathetic because dentistry is hard. That's why we exist, That's
- 14:50Speaker 2: why we educate, that's why we help people. There are
- 14:52Speaker 2: challenges now, there really are a.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Lot of challenges, and we know we've covered a lot
- 14:56Speaker 4: of them in this episode already. That's why where we
- 15:00Speaker 4: have that empathy and and we pride ourselves on being
- 15:06Speaker 4: the the dental you know, business expert.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I will say this, it's rare that somebody's geography or
- 15:14Speaker 2: the state of dentistry today, or just staff or just
- 15:18Speaker 2: insurance are the reasons why you're not achieving what you
- 15:20Speaker 2: want to do right, Those are all a part of it,
- 15:23Speaker 2: but typically it's it's a lot of areas that need addressed,
- 15:28Speaker 2: and it starts with you identify what you're what those
- 15:31Speaker 2: areas are, and what you want. If you don't have
- 15:33Speaker 2: a comprehensive team, meaning they're all talking and under the
- 15:36Speaker 2: same roof, then it is on you. You're going to
- 15:38Speaker 2: have to identify some things to your external team to
- 15:42Speaker 2: work on because they're not going to pick up on that.
- 15:43Speaker 2: If you have kind of a piece mailed team.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Ye, and I'm not gonna lie talking to CPAs and cfps.
- 15:48Speaker 3: That's like a foreign language to me.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Sometimes I'm like, okay, whatever you say, pal, Yeah, but
- 15:54Speaker 4: I just I want to encourage practice owners.
- 15:58Speaker 2: If you are frustrated, don't just stay in that place.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Identify the problem, what are the steps to fix it?
- 16:06Speaker 2: Don't be that jaded person. It's probably something you have
- 16:09Speaker 2: a hand in. You're a part of accountability and and uh,
- 16:13Speaker 2: you know, total accountability. That's what people are going to
- 16:15Speaker 2: have to step up to then get better.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Let's get that fixed and then you can complain about
- 16:20Speaker 4: something new like your HSA or something HSA.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Hoa ho a.
- 16:24Speaker 2: But there are a lot of practice owners that are
- 16:27Speaker 2: doing very well. They have their own unique set of problems.
- 16:31Speaker 2: But man, the ones I hear, it's just it's it's
- 16:33Speaker 2: becoming more and more and more, which tells me, yes,
- 16:35Speaker 2: dentistry landscape is harder to be profitable. Do you just
- 16:38Speaker 2: want to complain the rest of your career and be
- 16:40Speaker 2: cynical and jaded or do you want to do something
- 16:42Speaker 2: about it because you have to take you have to
- 16:44Speaker 2: take some accountability in this equation, there's a formula. The
- 16:48Speaker 2: practice owner is a part of it. You can't just
- 16:50Speaker 2: blame everything as external or that it can't be fixed,
- 16:53Speaker 2: it can't be done. Well, that's not the case because
- 16:56Speaker 2: we see it playing the victim all the time. But
- 16:59Speaker 2: there are real challenges that need address. But yeah, it's
- 17:02Speaker 2: sad to see that that beat down person that just dentistry,
- 17:07Speaker 2: But it's easier for them to say it can't be
- 17:08Speaker 2: done versus I could have done some things better over
- 17:12Speaker 2: the years and your fault I am in this position
- 17:15Speaker 2: for a reason, and I am a part of that.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Why what can I do?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Casey?
- 17:21Speaker 4: For those folks who aren't jaded and they want to
- 17:24Speaker 4: come here you speak, or if they're jaded and they
- 17:26Speaker 4: just want to come and complain to you, where are
- 17:29Speaker 4: you going to be soon?
- 17:30Speaker 3: Well?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Your point the first steps education? Right, is there a
- 17:33Speaker 2: better way go?
- 17:34Speaker 3: Go?
- 17:34Speaker 2: Learn? Ye, go figure it out? Rarely is there no
- 17:38Speaker 2: way out. There's normally a path, but you've got to
- 17:40Speaker 2: identify that. Yeah, the first steps education. I mean, we're
- 17:43Speaker 2: all over the place. There's lots of areas you can
- 17:45Speaker 2: you can grab some learning right now.
- 17:48Speaker 4: For example, for us, we're going to be coming up
- 17:50Speaker 4: in Detroit area. We're going to be in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- 17:53Speaker 4: We're going to be in San Francisco. We're about to
- 17:56Speaker 4: start advertising our Philadelphia area. Uh stuff, got some study
- 18:00Speaker 4: clubs and dental societies. And I think Milwaukee, NAPA, Milwaukee
- 18:05Speaker 4: wine Country, so wine Country you're like whatever, but Milwaukee
- 18:07Speaker 4: you love?
- 18:08Speaker 3: That's funny. Yeah, I like Milwaukee. Evan there.
- 18:10Speaker 2: You probably went to Summer Fest once and then you know,
- 18:14Speaker 2: I get it. Now, We're we're all over the place,
- 18:17Speaker 2: and ultimately We are a resource for practice owners for
- 18:20Speaker 2: our clients, absolutely, but we're a resource. We have a
- 18:23Speaker 2: lot of resources on the website. I just want to
- 18:25Speaker 2: encourage people. Don't just stay in this. It can't be done.
- 18:28Speaker 2: It's so hard. Whoah, don't do something about it. Now,
- 18:33Speaker 2: if you get all the golf lessons in the world
- 18:35Speaker 2: and practice and play and and do all those things
- 18:37Speaker 2: and you're still terrible, yeah, rarely does that happen, but
- 18:42Speaker 2: it does.
- 18:44Speaker 3: But Casey, thank you so much for stopping end.
