- 0:25Speaker 1: Poorly here from Hidden Intent, and we've just released our
- 0:30Speaker 1: new album terror Form, which is released on this Friday,
- 0:34Speaker 1: the twenty first. I believe, Yeah, get the cheer ears
- 0:39Speaker 1: around it and yeah, I reckon you'll enjoy it anyway.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So that's enough for me. Brother, Thanks for joining.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Us, No worries man.
- 0:48Speaker 4: As you mentioned, Hidden Intent unleash the new album Terraform
- 0:51Speaker 4: this Friday, March or twenty first.
- 0:52Speaker 2: So how's a feeling in the camp guys?
- 0:54Speaker 4: You've done a few albums now, like is it getting
- 0:56Speaker 4: easier or you're more confident about things or.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Is it still still process?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I think every album is a little bit different overall,
- 1:03Speaker 1: and this one is certainly different from the previous ones.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Just I think there's a lot of anger on this album.
- 1:11Speaker 1: It's certainly a darker one for us, and it comes
- 1:15Speaker 1: through with the with with the.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Tunes, and yeah, the process was a little bit different overall.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But yeah, we've been flat out and you know, the
- 1:24Speaker 1: mad rush to get it done, you know with a
- 1:28Speaker 1: sort of band that needs deadline, So we kind of
- 1:31Speaker 1: booked everything in you know, the launch and everything. It's
- 1:34Speaker 1: like you have to be done by this time or
- 1:37Speaker 1: else is not gonna make it. So we've just got
- 1:39Speaker 1: over that mad rush and now we're doing the launch
- 1:41Speaker 1: on Friday.
- 1:42Speaker 3: So yeah, but tell us me.
- 1:44Speaker 2: More about the album from a musical point of view,
- 1:46Speaker 2: and what are you going for with it?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Well, like I said, it's it's it's it's probably our
- 1:51Speaker 1: most well, it's definitely our most sort of broad album
- 1:55Speaker 1: we've ever done, and like I said, a lot of
- 1:58Speaker 1: a lot of anger on this album. It's faster, it's
- 2:03Speaker 1: it's heavier. It's also lighter though as well. There's there's
- 2:08Speaker 1: a couple acoustic things in there, which we have done
- 2:10Speaker 1: a little bit of before, but not I.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Guess to this extent.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So on every album we like to sort of widen
- 2:17Speaker 1: our lane a little bit more.
- 2:19Speaker 3: You know, we're always going to be a thrash band.
- 2:21Speaker 3: We're never gonna, you know, veer away.
- 2:23Speaker 1: From that, but it seems like every album we like
- 2:26Speaker 1: to just push that boundary just a little bit more,
- 2:28Speaker 1: to to grow and to keep our fans kind of
- 2:32Speaker 1: you know, guessing as well, which.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Is pretty hard.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Like the thrash metals onre like, people expect a certain
- 2:39Speaker 4: thing all the time from thrash metal, So when you
- 2:41Speaker 4: start trying to broaden horizons music. I guess it's difficult
- 2:44Speaker 4: to do because, well, you want to grow like that,
- 2:47Speaker 4: people want you to sort of stay the same.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always a really hard one to kind of
- 2:52Speaker 1: like balance overall. And I mean even from the first album,
- 2:58Speaker 1: which which I didn't actually play on the first.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Album, I Join them for Fear Prey of Mine. You know,
- 3:04Speaker 3: maybe still some old fans.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That were just like, oh, you know, you guys have
- 3:08Speaker 1: sort of changed, you know, But I mean I think
- 3:10Speaker 1: every band gets that, you know, but we're certainly not
- 3:15Speaker 1: the sort of band who wants to do the same
- 3:17Speaker 1: album over and over and over again and there's just
- 3:19Speaker 1: no fun in that.
- 3:21Speaker 3: But you are right, you know, thrash fans are very
- 3:24Speaker 3: little like loyal overall.
- 3:25Speaker 1: But that's the thing about this album, you know, there
- 3:27Speaker 1: is so much you know, I guess you'd say traditional
- 3:30Speaker 1: thrash on this, but yeah, we just wanted to widen
- 3:33Speaker 1: it just a little bit more. And like Chris's vocals
- 3:36Speaker 1: are a bit heavier on this one as well, which
- 3:38Speaker 1: is which is great. He did a great job on this.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But yeah, I think there's plenty in there for thrash
- 3:45Speaker 1: guys to like and and we're hoping that we'll gain
- 3:47Speaker 1: a few more fans with maybe some of the other
- 3:49Speaker 1: stuff as well.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Nice Now, I hope I pronounced this right, but you had.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Will Almo is the quido. Some fucker with a weird
- 3:58Speaker 4: name gets vocals on the title track.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Made like, what did he bring to the song?
- 4:03Speaker 3: He's from Angelus, Angelus I Patrata.
- 4:07Speaker 1: And we have but we toured America with those guys,
- 4:13Speaker 1: and we brought him over here and we did a
- 4:15Speaker 1: tour early last year. We did all all of Australia,
- 4:18Speaker 1: New Zealand, Asia, China, Japan, all the rest, and he's
- 4:24Speaker 1: just yeah, Angelus are just a fucking huge band over
- 4:28Speaker 1: like that there from Spain.
- 4:30Speaker 3: They're They're fucking an excellent band.
- 4:32Speaker 1: They're one of the best bands I've ever seen live
- 4:35Speaker 1: and I would put there, put them right up with
- 4:38Speaker 1: like seeing Metallica.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Or any of the larger bands. They're so tight.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Gilly is a fucking monster guitar player. You know, he's
- 4:49Speaker 1: he does vocals of course as well.
- 4:51Speaker 3: He's got a.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Really good, unique sound and we we love those guys
- 4:56Speaker 1: to to death.
- 4:56Speaker 3: But we really felt like if.
- 4:58Speaker 1: He would work really well on this song that the
- 5:01Speaker 1: title track is probably you know, if you ask Chris,
- 5:03Speaker 1: it's a little bit a little bit different from the
- 5:06Speaker 1: stuff we've done before.
- 5:08Speaker 3: He's very much a purist overall.
- 5:11Speaker 1: But we thought it would be perfect to get someone
- 5:14Speaker 1: in to to sort of get that one across the line.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And can you pronounce his last name? Not at all?
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm not the only one.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Ye?
- 5:26Speaker 2: Are there any more special guests on the outboard? Did
- 5:28Speaker 2: you restricted just one?
- 5:30Speaker 6: No?
- 5:30Speaker 3: We we Yeah, I think on the last couple we
- 5:33Speaker 3: always had one. Actually we've had a couple of guys.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I think we had the guys, a couple of guests
- 5:37Speaker 1: last time guitarists, And yeah, this one we only just
- 5:43Speaker 1: got got the one in. We kind of yeah, we're
- 5:46Speaker 1: really running behind on this one to try to get
- 5:49Speaker 1: everything done that mad rush as I was saying, So, yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 1: we've only got the one on this one, and that's
- 5:56Speaker 1: kind of what we felt we needed anyway.
- 5:57Speaker 3: So yeah.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Uniform follows twenty twenty one's album Get End Destiny, which
- 6:03Speaker 4: was pretty successful for you guys. Made like, was it
- 6:05Speaker 4: tempting to rehash that winning formula on this one because
- 6:08Speaker 4: you knew it worked, or was it important to sort
- 6:10Speaker 4: of go away from that a bit.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I don't think we really even thought about that, to
- 6:15Speaker 3: be honest, we.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, Like I mean, I guess you
- 6:20Speaker 1: could say it kind of follows it on a little bit.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You can certainly see I think, the progression. But you know,
- 6:26Speaker 1: we experimented with a few things on that album, you know,
- 6:30Speaker 1: broaden the horizon as I said on the Lane a
- 6:33Speaker 1: little bit, and everyone seemed to really look like that.
- 6:36Speaker 3: But overall, we just wrote whatever came what was around,
- 6:40Speaker 3: you know at the time.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I know, I had a lot of things that I
- 6:44Speaker 1: wanted to write for this album and themes and you know,
- 6:49Speaker 1: riffs and all the rest, and so we Yeah, I
- 6:52Speaker 1: don't think it was a conscious decision at all.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Like I said, there's a lot a lot happened between
- 6:57Speaker 3: that album and this one.
- 6:58Speaker 1: A lot of really really you know, great things, you know,
- 7:02Speaker 1: playing like v Bakan and all that sort of stuff,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and getting to go over to America and Europe and
- 7:07Speaker 1: all the rest again.
- 7:09Speaker 3: But yeah, a lot of sort of shit things happening.
- 7:12Speaker 1: You know, Chris's dad unfortunately passed away, and Feel's sister
- 7:15Speaker 1: passed away as well, and just some just shit things happening.
- 7:19Speaker 1: As everyone has in their life, but fortunately for us,
- 7:22Speaker 1: we get our chance to channel it into something, you know,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and I think we certainly purged a lot of hate
- 7:29Speaker 1: and anger on that did this one. So yeah, I
- 7:32Speaker 1: don't think it's it wasn't really a conscious we We
- 7:34Speaker 1: just did whatever was around at the time.
- 7:36Speaker 2: So nice.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Now the title is an interesting play on words, too, mate,
- 7:41Speaker 4: tell us a bit more about that.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that was that was the thing that I've been
- 7:46Speaker 1: messing around with. I kind of liked I like the
- 7:48Speaker 1: sound of it, but I.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Also liked the whole idea of.
- 7:52Speaker 1: You know, I think it's a great title name overall,
- 7:56Speaker 1: but I also liked the idea. The whole idea, I
- 7:58Speaker 1: guess is too try to you know, to terraform the
- 8:03Speaker 1: way that that humans think, and you know, all these
- 8:06Speaker 1: preconceived ideas and things passed down and you know, from
- 8:11Speaker 1: generation to generation and just ideas that they just don't
- 8:14Speaker 1: serve us anymore. So it's the whole idea of just
- 8:17Speaker 1: sort of wiping all that clean. And you know, I
- 8:21Speaker 1: feel like people sort of play the victim a little
- 8:23Speaker 1: bit and feel like that they can't change that they're
- 8:25Speaker 1: kind of stuck in a situation, a job of a
- 8:29Speaker 1: relationship or whatever.
- 8:30Speaker 3: The fun doesn't matter. But the fact is, I just
- 8:33Speaker 3: don't believe that.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I think we will have the ability to you know,
- 8:38Speaker 1: sort of terrorform our minds and just you know, just
- 8:41Speaker 1: throw away with what doesn't serve us anymore. So the
- 8:45Speaker 1: album's got the themes like that throughout it. But also,
- 8:49Speaker 1: you know, as I said, deals with anger and loss
- 8:52Speaker 1: and a lot of hate in this one.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Hate is always a good thing with music.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Well it's metal metal, so true that.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Doing a double album launch with head Bore and the
- 9:04Speaker 4: guvin Adelaide this Friday, March twenty first, same Bay the
- 9:07Speaker 4: album comes out, you guys are launching that. Head bor
- 9:09Speaker 4: are doing the same with Brandon, so both bands playing
- 9:12Speaker 4: the albums in full or just select songs from him.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Honestly, I have no idea what head Borer are doing,
- 9:20Speaker 1: but yeah, we've just picked a few songs because.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I just figured that was the best way to go,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I think as well, like because the album.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Will be released on the day.
- 9:33Speaker 1: We didn't really I didn't really think it was a
- 9:35Speaker 1: great idea to play a whole set of songs that
- 9:38Speaker 1: people didn't really know. So we're gonna play a few,
- 9:42Speaker 1: but we're gonna mix it in with the ones that
- 9:44Speaker 1: obviously people expect us to play as well. Yeah, I
- 9:48Speaker 1: have no idea what head Bora are planning on doing,
- 9:50Speaker 1: but any either way, they was put on a great show,
- 9:54Speaker 1: so I'm actually really really keen to see those guys.
- 9:57Speaker 3: They are a really great band.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Nice and one thing you always know with him Nten
- 10:02Speaker 4: is your next live show is never far away.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Mate. So what are you coming up after this weekend?
- 10:07Speaker 1: Well, well, as as we said, I'm heading off to
- 10:10Speaker 1: Brizzy tomorrow and but yeah, after the gig we've got
- 10:16Speaker 1: we've got a lot going around a strata. We're doing
- 10:19Speaker 1: a lot, like a lot going to Melbourne and we're
- 10:22Speaker 1: doing Sydney and all the rest and the usuals I think,
- 10:25Speaker 1: but we're actually going to hit some we always hit
- 10:29Speaker 1: country towns as well. Like we love going there. We
- 10:32Speaker 1: just get a really good response there. People love it.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And we're also heading to Europe in August and September,
- 10:41Speaker 1: which should be a cracker. We've got a few festivals
- 10:43Speaker 1: lined up over there and a few club shows, so
- 10:46Speaker 1: we should be over there for a few weeks, possibly
- 10:50Speaker 1: another overseas tour as well, Like we just like to
- 10:53Speaker 1: focus on overseas a lot. We love it, and but yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you have to play around Australia. We love playing at home.
- 11:02Speaker 2: So nice.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Before we let you go, Bro started a new segment
- 11:05Speaker 4: called photo Bombs, So basically before we chat, I troll
- 11:09Speaker 4: through your social media photos that I want to know
- 11:12Speaker 4: a bit more about.
- 11:16Speaker 2: This one here, Like how much did you photographer hate
- 11:19Speaker 2: you guys this night?
- 11:20Speaker 4: Like everything looks perfect, the lighting, the colors, the setting,
- 11:23Speaker 4: but doesn't look like you guys could keep a straight face.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yeah that's MAXI Max did our That was from when
- 11:32Speaker 1: we filmed Breaking Point and Max is an absolute champ.
- 11:37Speaker 1: And yeah, like I think at that point in time,
- 11:40Speaker 1: we'd already done the clip and we thought, fuck it,
- 11:42Speaker 1: let's just get a few shots.
- 11:44Speaker 3: And obviously we're having a few beers there as well.
- 11:47Speaker 1: But I mean, that's the thing about this band, man,
- 11:49Speaker 1: we just we just don't take ourselves too seriously. We're
- 11:52Speaker 1: like having some fun. I'm not sure he was after
- 11:57Speaker 1: a serious shot, but he certainly wasn't to get one
- 12:00Speaker 1: that that that night. I think I think we were
- 12:02Speaker 1: half pissed by that stage, to be honest.
- 12:06Speaker 2: And this one.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Man, I found this one very fucking interesting. Tell me
- 12:12Speaker 4: you guys actually played at Roswell.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Oh dude, Yeah we didn't. We didn't play there, but
- 12:18Speaker 3: we actually we actually stayed there.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It was on the way to a gig that was
- 12:21Speaker 1: on the tour with Angelus, and I think we just
- 12:25Speaker 1: stopped in there because we really wanted to see the place. Yeah,
- 12:29Speaker 1: I remember we got in there pretty late and we
- 12:32Speaker 1: went straight to like an Applebee's or Denny's or.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 12:36Speaker 1: And then there's a running joke in the band about
- 12:39Speaker 1: they didn't have any broccoly for me.
- 12:41Speaker 3: It's a private joke.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It's not really that funny, but anyway, but yeah, like
- 12:45Speaker 1: we didn't see any aliens.
- 12:46Speaker 3: That don't worry, but we just really wanted to to
- 12:49Speaker 3: see that.
- 12:49Speaker 1: And it's smaller than you think, but fucking aliens everywhere, man,
- 12:53Speaker 1: like alien gift shops and and all the all the
- 12:56Speaker 1: good stuff.
- 12:57Speaker 3: So definitely keen to go back and have a look.
- 12:59Speaker 4: You know, what's your feeling after actually being there, bra,
- 13:02Speaker 4: do you reckon it's all fabricated for marketing all this
- 13:04Speaker 4: alien stuff or could you feel was there anything there
- 13:07Speaker 4: that you could feel?
- 13:08Speaker 1: I don't think we were there long enough to be honest,
- 13:11Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't think we're there for like twelve hours.
- 13:14Speaker 1: We're just in there, stayed. I think we had a
- 13:17Speaker 1: few beers, then went to sleep and then left. But
- 13:21Speaker 1: but yeah, man, look, you know, you know what Americans
- 13:23Speaker 1: are like. Man, they'll commercialize anything. But look, you know
- 13:28Speaker 1: I would I'd really like to have a good look
- 13:30Speaker 1: around there.
- 13:30Speaker 3: And see all of the rest of it. We just
- 13:33Speaker 3: didn't have enough time to have a look at it.
- 13:35Speaker 1: But yeah, they've certainly kind of cashed in on the
- 13:38Speaker 1: whole and the whole thing anyway.
- 13:40Speaker 2: No, it's all right, bro.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Well thanks for your time, Paul, You've been pleasure speaking
- 13:43Speaker 4: with your Terraform is out this Friday, March twenty first,
- 13:46Speaker 4: and there's another banging album from Bidden and ten guys,
- 13:48Speaker 4: So best of luck.
- 13:50Speaker 7: Thank you so much, mate. Cheers for that.
- 15:05Speaker 6: They hate Somebody's the Brother Get South, tell the chap
- 15:08Speaker 6: the doctor s time like, Yeah that frsh for a.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Type a seven thousand trapes.
