- 0:01Hello. Welcome to the No God Coach
- 0:03Huddle for February 2nd, 2026. Your
- 0:05two-minute play of the day for applying
- 0:08God's word in your life so that we can
- 0:09love and obey him more. So, let's huddle
- 0:12up and hear today's play from Isaiah 53.
- 0:15He was wounded because of our crimes,
- 0:17crushed because of our sins. The
- 0:20disciplining that makes us whole fell
- 0:22upon him, and by his bruises, we are
- 0:24healed. Yet it pleased Adonai to crush
- 0:27him with illness, to see if he would
- 0:29present himself as a guilt offering. If
- 0:31he does, he will see his offspring, and
- 0:33he will proclaim his prolong his days.
- 0:36And at his hand, Adonai's desire will be
- 0:38accomplished. After this ordeal, he will
- 0:41see satisfaction. By his knowing, my
- 0:44righteous servant makes many righteous,
- 0:47and it is for their sins that he
- 0:49suffers. Isaiah 53 says something that
- 0:52should stop us in our tracks. He was
- 0:54wounded because of our crimes, crushed
- 0:56because of our sins, and by his bruises,
- 0:59we are healed. This isn't poetic
- 1:01exaggeration. It's the heart of the
- 1:03gospel. Jesus, fully God, fully man,
- 1:06didn't come into the world as the king
- 1:09he rightfully is. He came as a servant,
- 1:11a sacrifice, a substitute. He stepped
- 1:14into human history to absorb the wrath
- 1:17of God that our rebellion deserved.
- 1:19Isaiah goes further and says something
- 1:21shocking. It pleased Adonai to crush
- 1:24him. God was not pleased with pain for
- 1:27pain's sake. He was pleased with
- 1:29obedience, pleased with righteousness,
- 1:31pleased with a son who loved the father
- 1:34and loved us more than his own life.
- 1:36Jesus had a choice. In the garden, he
- 1:39wept tears like blood, asking if there's
- 1:41another way. There wasn't. And so, he
- 1:44chose the cross. His love for us
- 1:46outweighed his love for self. Isaiah
- 1:49tells us that if the servant offers
- 1:51himself as a guilt offering, he will see
- 1:54his offspring. He will see satisfaction.
- 1:57The reward of Christ's suffering is a
- 1:59redeemed people, men made righteous, not
- 2:02by effort, but by his sacrifice. But
- 2:04this salvation isn't automatic. It
- 2:07belongs to those who repent of lives
- 2:08lived in rebellion against God and place
- 2:11their faith in the life, death, and
- 2:13resurrection of Jesus as sufficient.
- 2:16Eternal life is the reward of his work
- 2:18and not ours. And here's where this hits
- 2:21us as men. If we're in Christ, we're not
- 2:23only saved by him. We're called to live
- 2:26like him. That means service. That means
- 2:29obedience. That means suffering when
- 2:31faithfulness demands it. Most of the
- 2:33world still loves darkness rather than
- 2:35light. And until we experience rejection
- 2:38because people are rejecting Christ in
- 2:39us, we haven't fully followed him. God
- 2:42was pleased to crush his son so
- 2:44righteousness can be accomplished. And
- 2:46he's pleased when his sons suffer with
- 2:49Christ because suffering with him leads
- 2:51to glory with him. The cross wasn't the
- 2:54end for Jesus. It was the way. And it
- 2:56still is. If this huddle helps you know
- 2:58God better so you can love and obey him
- 3:00more, leave a quick review and share it
- 3:02with a friend so that other men can find
- 3:04their way into the huddle.
