- 2:36Speaker 3: not your favorite bands?
- 2:40Speaker 2: That's Rascal Flats.
- 2:41Speaker 3: This is what I picture everybody looking like at Treeport
- 2:47Speaker 3: evangel from ninety nine to two thousand, like two thousand
- 2:51Speaker 3: to two thousand and three.
- 2:53Speaker 2: How many people do you know from Evangel.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Enough who I got a pretty good visual, you know three,
- 3:02Speaker 3: I've seen pictures, pictures, Well, you know, way you didn't
- 3:06Speaker 3: look like this and have this exact outfit from the buckle, not.
- 3:09Speaker 2: A been from like host or something like my dad.
- 3:12Speaker 2: So my dad sometimes and my dad used to always
- 3:16Speaker 2: say something like if you'd wear something out and people
- 3:19Speaker 2: like you know, what are you wearing? Like what is that?
- 3:22Speaker 2: And like, yeah, imagine going home and telling your wife
- 3:24Speaker 2: you got your ass kicked by somebody wearing these pink shorts.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Same thing. Imagine lining up on a football field and
- 3:32Speaker 2: getting your ass what by somebody wearing a Puka Shehell
- 3:34Speaker 2: necklace and a shirt from Hoster. Because we did that.
- 3:36Speaker 3: A lot people that were scared to come to Texas
- 3:39Speaker 3: and play.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Including including the teams that one year district every year
- 3:43Speaker 2: that you lost to we'd beat you want it, you
- 3:47Speaker 2: want your you want it your junior year when we
- 3:50Speaker 2: beat Lufkin and Reggie McNeil and Longview same year teams
- 3:56Speaker 2: in your district?
- 3:57Speaker 3: Was that when you were fat and playing defensive.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Line sophomore year and now I was playing linebacker. But oh,
- 4:05Speaker 2: I don't care. I was at least playing.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I'm at pH ye.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I wasn't honorable mentioned in a fourteen district, so I
- 4:11Speaker 2: don't that.
- 4:11Speaker 5: I'm pretty honorable.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Mention not bad, No, it's acts like actually kind of
- 4:17Speaker 2: bad when you have fourteen patch right on the sleeve.
- 4:21Speaker 2: If you got an honorable mentioned patch in your letterman jacket,
- 4:24Speaker 2: I need you to kindly leave. I don't think. I
- 4:26Speaker 2: hope I didn't. You did because you said it.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Now, I was just I was making fun of letter jackets,
- 4:37Speaker 3: you know. I was making for of myself, like a man,
- 4:40Speaker 3: self aware.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Imagine the guy in the dark hair with the soul
- 4:43Speaker 2: patch dusting you.
- 4:45Speaker 6: That's what you should do.
- 4:47Speaker 3: So patch just just the line though, that is just
- 4:50Speaker 3: an awful look.
- 4:52Speaker 4: You don't have to do that.
- 4:53Speaker 3: But like, and I know a lot of looks come back,
- 4:55Speaker 3: like yeah again, life's to circle. Things come and go.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Fashion changes, but it always comes back. I hope early
- 5:02Speaker 3: two thousands doesn't. It has already has, but not not
- 5:06Speaker 3: not this much like.
- 5:08Speaker 6: Can we not do low rise jeans?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:13Speaker 2: I mean don't wear jeans?
- 5:15Speaker 3: I know the I know, like Birken stalks are back.
- 5:17Speaker 3: What else is back?
- 5:18Speaker 6: Low rise jeans are back?
- 5:20Speaker 2: Low right? What does that mean? The hip?
- 5:23Speaker 6: Yeah those are back? Isn't like it's all bad?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Baggy are like this isn't not like not like Ginko,
- 5:33Speaker 2: not like Jinko baggy, but like yeah not slim fit
- 5:37Speaker 2: like it.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Was right right, like, yeah, those are back. Really baggy
- 5:42Speaker 6: jeans are a thing. But I will wear jeans all
- 5:46Speaker 6: the time.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Jeans. I think we should all dress like that tomorrow.
- 5:50Speaker 2: We haven't you go? You go soul fats.
- 5:52Speaker 3: You've been waiting on this for your for a long time,
- 5:54Speaker 3: haven't you? Okay, Just but I.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Know if you don't know this about me. If I
- 6:00Speaker 2: wanted to wear that, I would wear that every day
- 6:02Speaker 2: and not care.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Well I know if you should know that about clearly.
- 6:06Speaker 3: If you want to do something, you're going to do it.
- 6:09Speaker 3: That's that's part of being in America.
- 6:11Speaker 2: If I wanted that style, like I would. I don't
- 6:13Speaker 2: have highlights anymore, you know.
- 6:15Speaker 3: I know, And I'm making fun of you for the
- 6:17Speaker 3: fact that you like that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: That's twenty six years in front of you is about
- 6:23Speaker 2: twenty six years ago. That was the fit.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Okay, But like seriously, at I know y'all are good
- 6:27Speaker 3: at football, really good tip of the cap, very cool baseball.
- 6:31Speaker 3: But your fashion wasn't great. Did it look like this?
- 6:33Speaker 3: Did most of your fellow brethrens see? But why did
- 6:38Speaker 3: Why did y'all look like that? Why was it not good?
- 6:41Speaker 3: If that's what was in vogue?
- 6:43Speaker 2: I'm asked, just a simple question. No, yeah, no, yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 2: that was that looks good again, that's what you were
- 6:50Speaker 2: getting beat by. H Would y'all wear nothing great? Either?
- 7:00Speaker 3: You go to school naked? Would you wear I honestly
- 7:03Speaker 3: don't know. We had to, I know we had to. No,
- 7:05Speaker 3: we didn't have a dress good. I think in middle
- 7:09Speaker 3: school we had to tuck in our shirt. We had
- 7:11Speaker 3: to wear a tuck in we We did too had uniforms.
- 7:14Speaker 3: We didn't have uniforms. You had just tuck in your shirt.
- 7:16Speaker 2: We had navy polos and khaki pants with k swiss
- 7:21Speaker 2: had to be an all white case.
- 7:22Speaker 6: Swiss.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I'm so jealous of my kids that they do have
- 7:27Speaker 3: a uniform. Like that was a stressful situation when you
- 7:30Speaker 3: hit puberty.
- 7:30Speaker 2: It's like what do I wear? Having to like wear
- 7:33Speaker 2: things and like see.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Y'all only had navy jake, Yeah, because like we did.
- 7:39Speaker 7: We did khaki shorts toward pants, navy blue shirt and
- 7:42Speaker 7: white or white shirt.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Couldn't wear shorts.
- 7:46Speaker 4: And then we had to have shirt touch in and.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Could wear skirts or pants. But we had to wear
- 7:52Speaker 2: pants and they were as hard as this table right here. Yep,
- 7:57Speaker 2: a lot of starch. I'll give you well.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Shirt took in with a belt that we had, and
- 8:02Speaker 7: then socks could only be.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Five added to your tuition or something like your shirt was.
- 8:09Speaker 2: If you had facial hair, the disciplinarian would walk around
- 8:14Speaker 2: with like a one blade big razor.
- 8:17Speaker 7: Got buddy of mine had to go to the bathroom
- 8:19Speaker 7: like first food one time, and.
- 8:22Speaker 2: You couldn't get away with anything like the small try
- 8:24Speaker 2: to get like a small little soul patch or something. Nothing.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I mean they couldn't.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I would tried try. It's more of a weekend.
- 8:31Speaker 7: Look, I went to public school and we had those rules.
- 8:34Speaker 7: I mean really yeah, like that's what I'm saying. Like
- 8:37Speaker 7: I went to public school and we had we had
- 8:40Speaker 7: we could do shorts or pants, socks could only be
- 8:44Speaker 7: like white, black or gray. Your hair if your guy
- 8:48Speaker 7: couldn't come like below your eyebrow.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I mean we had all that. I didn't even know
- 8:52Speaker 2: they could do that.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Maybe we started that junior high so sixth grade, I guess,
- 8:58Speaker 4: And uh.
- 8:58Speaker 3: That was pretty normal for for boys. It's like you can't.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I want to see your eyebrows, want to see your ears,
- 9:05Speaker 3: want to see your back of your neck? Yep, yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 3: pretty much.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah. One of my good friends got in a lot
- 9:09Speaker 2: of trouble because we were, you know, Christian school, angel Christian,
- 9:13Speaker 2: and he wore a he made it like a pin
- 9:15Speaker 2: that said Jesus had long hair. Mm hmm.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Like true, that's that's a point, and a beard. That's
- 9:23Speaker 3: a fair point. That's how he's depicted at least. Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 2: So if you had long hair and a beard, I
- 9:31Speaker 2: see you, you know what, And like you bring up
- 9:33Speaker 2: a good point, Like what we wore was not great,
- 9:36Speaker 2: but I feel like Evangelia tried.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Y'all tried a lot harder than we did. If you
- 9:42Speaker 3: were like a white undershirt did not want to see
- 9:45Speaker 3: me coming. Oh, no, mess one of those in your locker,
- 9:52Speaker 3: There's no doubt. I mean polo. Are you kidding me?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Your dad bought you three polos for the year.
- 9:59Speaker 3: You were set. What's that do laundry on Wednesday?
- 10:03Speaker 2: You had the bluest blue jeans too.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Uh.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I definitely had the most docersy blue jeans for sure,
- 10:12Speaker 3: some Doc Martins down below.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I didn't have doc Mars. That does.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I don't know what I had. Tennis shoes. I have
- 10:17Speaker 3: no idea. Everybody else say tenny shoes or is tennis shoes?
- 10:22Speaker 3: I just said tennis.
- 10:27Speaker 2: On what do I say? I think I just tennis shoes,
- 10:33Speaker 2: tennis shoes, tennis shoes. I say shoes.
- 10:39Speaker 4: For some reason.
- 10:40Speaker 7: When me and my sister were little, like five six,
- 10:42Speaker 7: we call them tinny bops bops bops on.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Uh. In the chat. Couldn't afford private school, y'all just
- 10:52Speaker 2: showing off. We had work study, so in the summertime
- 10:56Speaker 2: you would go mow the grass, weed, eat, pick up tracks,
- 11:00Speaker 2: whatever they needed you to do. And that's how I know.
- 11:05Speaker 2: My older brother for sure played like his whole tuition
- 11:08Speaker 2: doing that.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Okay, Texas public school, baby I didn't even know. I
- 11:16Speaker 3: mean that would work well too. I grew up if
- 11:19Speaker 3: you went to private.
- 11:20Speaker 5: School, anybody, I didn't know anybody that went to a
- 11:23Speaker 5: private school.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Like Charter played baseball with a couple. You didn't have
- 11:29Speaker 2: to but to. Like for us too, at the time
- 11:34Speaker 2: in Treuthport, it's not like it is now, like you
- 11:36Speaker 2: go anywhere now with huddle and seven on seven's and
- 11:39Speaker 2: like you're gonna get found. Like for us, it was like,
- 11:43Speaker 2: if you live in Shreuthport and you play football, why
- 11:46Speaker 2: would you not good? Evangel because it wasn't like it
- 11:48Speaker 2: is now, like you didn't get a scholarship from everywhere.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You can look like that and be good at football,
- 11:54Speaker 2: Like I have one of my good good friends, I
- 11:56Speaker 2: mean best friends. I was in his wedding, he was
- 11:58Speaker 2: in mind played I'm backer at Louisiana Monroe and that's
- 12:02Speaker 2: him looks like that looks like it's him today. No,
- 12:06Speaker 2: not today, but in year two thousand, that's him. Yep,
- 12:14Speaker 2: he was really good at football though.
- 12:18Speaker 3: At the Evangel pep rallies coach, we don't we don't
- 12:21Speaker 3: want to wear jerseys.
- 12:23Speaker 2: We want to wear buckle button ups. No, you don't
- 12:26Speaker 2: wear jerseys. They were just tight with the Pooka shell
- 12:29Speaker 2: above them. Oh, so many poka shells the most mm hmm,
- 12:35Speaker 2: I'll thought, dude, you know I don't care. I thrived
- 12:39Speaker 2: during that era. I'll pull up I'll find some pictures
- 12:42Speaker 2: that was your prime. It was I met my wife
- 12:45Speaker 2: during that prime. You know how just hit my prime?
- 12:52Speaker 2: You just hit it a couple months ago. What brings
- 13:01Speaker 2: you to that conclusion positive attitude.
- 13:05Speaker 6: Is the high rocks that changed him?
- 13:07Speaker 2: Positive attitude confidence.
- 13:10Speaker 4: He was about to say, is there like a specific
- 13:11Speaker 4: moment where you're like peak starts now just overall Outlook.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Hmm, look, I can't really promise what the rest of
- 13:25Speaker 2: today is gonna be.
- 13:25Speaker 6: Say we should break and regroup. I didn't love this segment.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Well, I mean, it can all be winners.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Brought this segment up, just started.
- 13:39Speaker 6: Did not love the dress code segment.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Well, y'all two to be fair to Matt, because Matt
- 13:47Speaker 2: did want to bring it up. He sent a picture
- 13:49Speaker 2: and like thought he was gonna really get me to
- 13:51Speaker 2: be fair to Matt. Though, y'all miss this. God, y'all
- 13:54Speaker 2: miss this error. So like y'all don't really have like
- 13:58Speaker 2: you see pictures, but you don't have first and experience
- 14:01Speaker 2: of the highlights. Buckle Pollister, Abercrombie. Y'all might have called
- 14:05Speaker 2: it the tail in call it like a little bit
- 14:08Speaker 2: of tail in fifth grade.
- 14:09Speaker 3: It was a time. It was a time. And where
- 14:12Speaker 3: you live, Taylor, it was thriving there.
- 14:15Speaker 4: It was thriving.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure it might still be a little pockets.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I think there is still pockets like the squatted truck.
- 14:23Speaker 8: Guys.
- 14:24Speaker 4: These are them?
- 14:25Speaker 2: Are they? I don't know what they look like. I
- 14:26Speaker 2: just know they're very clear.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Pretty much.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yeah, you know it's hard to see them over the steering,
- 14:31Speaker 2: but yeah, pretty much. This all right, we'll take a break.

- 19:28Speaker 2: It's so right now.
- 19:29Speaker 6: I just want to listen to Cheryl Crow.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Oh oh boy, squirrel. The NCAA Tournament's going to seventy
- 19:41Speaker 2: six teams.
- 19:42Speaker 7: That feels we needed that, We needed a couple of
- 19:45Speaker 7: extra games.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I did, and I all, who cares. We'll figure that
- 19:51Speaker 4: out later.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Maybe next year. Since there's so many games next year,
- 19:55Speaker 3: maybe i'll watch too.
- 19:56Speaker 2: You know.
- 19:57Speaker 7: I was thinking this year's chase of the tournament, well,
- 20:00Speaker 7: I was like, the problem is the seventy sixth ranked
- 20:02Speaker 7: team was gonna make a run at this thing, and
- 20:04Speaker 7: they just couldn't get.
- 20:05Speaker 2: In, right, It's an unfair advantagously.
- 20:08Speaker 7: What I don't like is they're saying, well, this isn't
- 20:10Speaker 7: about money, it's about Yeah it is, which is fine, but.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Like just say that it is.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Everything's going to expand, everything's going to be at a
- 20:17Speaker 2: place where, like the college football playoff one day is
- 20:20Speaker 2: going to be at twenty four teams. When we're doing
- 20:22Speaker 2: this ten years from now, we're sitting there like, don't
- 20:24Speaker 2: even like twelve's gonna be back. We used to be
- 20:27Speaker 2: at twelve. Yeah, twenty four? Now, are you gonna have
- 20:31Speaker 2: the NCAA tournament? Just keeps on? In basketball? Yeah, it
- 20:35Speaker 2: went from sixty two to the first sea was it
- 20:37Speaker 2: used to be like a thirty something?
- 20:39Speaker 4: The round of thirty two was the first round?
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and now we're gonna have seventy six. Cool. I'm
- 20:45Speaker 2: trying to figure out how how that math works out.
- 20:48Speaker 2: So is it gonna be.
- 20:48Speaker 6: Like it's gonna be like Sebruary March.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Twelve playing games? And I think they're.
- 20:54Speaker 7: Like midweek games like Tuesday Wednesday night, like before the
- 21:00Speaker 7: tournament like technically starts on that Thursday.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Huh. If you don't make a seventy six team tournament, yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 2: what are we doing here? Right? I guess?
- 21:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so it'd be twenty four teams and that's yeah,
- 21:16Speaker 3: so it'd be seventy six. If you had twelve playing games,
- 21:19Speaker 3: it'd be twenty four teams, right, So you had twenty
- 21:22Speaker 3: four teams, you would have twelve teams. Make it so
- 21:25Speaker 3: you'd have what fifty two guaranteed spots. Then the last
- 21:30Speaker 3: twelve are going to be playing games.
- 21:32Speaker 2: So here's the article of mechanics of the expansion, and
- 21:35Speaker 2: the men's tournament would include eight additional at large bids.
- 21:39Speaker 2: What's known as the first four eight teams playing four
- 21:43Speaker 2: games in Dayton, Ohio would expand to twelve games played
- 21:46Speaker 2: by twenty four teams at two sites, one of which
- 21:49Speaker 2: is expected to remain in Dayton. The location of the
- 21:52Speaker 2: new site is yet to be determined, but it was
- 21:55Speaker 2: expected to be west of the Eastern time zone to
- 21:57Speaker 2: help logistics. The expansion would lead to an additional eight
- 22:01Speaker 2: men's games, meaning the Tuesday and Wednesday of the NCAA
- 22:05Speaker 2: tournament would feature twenty four of these seventy six men's teams.
- 22:10Speaker 3: That Matthew Math and Jelsea me do that in my head.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Congrats. So the traditional sixty fourteen men's tournament would still
- 22:19Speaker 2: began Thursday and look much the same. The major difference
- 22:22Speaker 2: would be more teams that qualify as traditional at large
- 22:26Speaker 2: bids would have to play earlier than the sixty four
- 22:29Speaker 2: team bracket.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Okay, so the more we talk about it, the dumber
- 22:34Speaker 3: it sounds.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I mean, I'm with Taylor, like we know it's about money,
- 22:41Speaker 2: it's all. I just say, it's yeah, it's a money grab.
- 22:44Speaker 7: They keep saying, well, you know, we want extra sec
- 22:46Speaker 7: and big ten or whatever.
- 22:47Speaker 4: I'm like, you want it to be more ch'all.
- 22:49Speaker 3: So wouldn't this year the highest ratings of any tournament
- 22:53Speaker 3: ever like viewership?
- 22:55Speaker 4: At least if it was sure?
- 22:58Speaker 3: I think I heard was going to say that afternoon,
- 23:00Speaker 3: and it was What was your question? Wasn't this year
- 23:03Speaker 3: the TV ratings like the highest it has ever been.
- 23:06Speaker 6: I think you're correct on that.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder how and why it didn't go well?
- 23:12Speaker 3: Usually the tournament grabs my attention.
- 23:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't grab mine.
- 23:15Speaker 3: It didn't grab Like I watched a little bit of
- 23:17Speaker 3: a game in the office at one point. I didn't
- 23:19Speaker 3: watch once they got past the sweet sixteen, I didn't
- 23:22Speaker 3: watch any And I know I'm not the littus test here.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Know me either, because like, well, I just was tuned
- 23:28Speaker 5: out of college basketball this past season, So I there's
- 23:33Speaker 5: no juice to.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Be You got that. We got that. One player.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Mohammed about the sorry we got that player. We got
- 23:42Speaker 4: got one, which hey remember the heartbreaker against Kentucky.
- 23:46Speaker 6: I know, yeah, it's okay, there's no power plants over here,
- 23:50Speaker 6: that's true.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Like we got one player.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Got to keep them healthy, all right, So I like
- 23:54Speaker 2: all jokes aside, like this was how it went for
- 23:57Speaker 2: Will at NC State last year. It's kind of saying situation.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Everybody's like, oh man, what's going on? And then the
- 24:02Speaker 2: finish line. It gets a ton of players and then
- 24:04Speaker 2: make it to the NCAA tournament. How long do we
- 24:06Speaker 2: have when when is the finish line close? Yeah? Getting
- 24:11Speaker 2: getting uncomfortable? Yeah, you know, like you make it around
- 24:14Speaker 2: that bend, you like you see it and you're like,
- 24:16Speaker 2: pick it up a little bit. Yeah you see, yeah,
- 24:18Speaker 2: pick it up.
- 24:18Speaker 6: We're picking it up here.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Hopefully the leaders not too far out in front, so
- 24:24Speaker 3: got time to catch them. Okay, So after let me
- 24:27Speaker 3: this is I'm asking questions here. Educate myself and hopefully
- 24:31Speaker 3: educate somebody listening. So if we don't have anybody, oh,
- 24:35Speaker 3: let's just so we don't have enough people. All you
- 24:37Speaker 3: want by the time the portal ins, so.
- 24:40Speaker 2: You had to be in first. That was the last
- 24:45Speaker 2: one when you had to be in. Now, that doesn't
- 24:47Speaker 2: mean like you can still play. What's today April thirtieth,
- 24:52Speaker 2: So it's been closed for nine days.
- 24:54Speaker 3: How people in the portal and you go, So there's
- 24:57Speaker 3: no there's no limit then, so you can sign them.
- 25:00Speaker 2: As long as they entered the portal between April seventh
- 25:03Speaker 2: and April twenty first. So we're good.
- 25:05Speaker 7: Like we were talking about it after aiden Andy went
- 25:08Speaker 7: down in the spring scrimmage. The kid from Youngstown Hacket
- 25:11Speaker 7: or whatever the corner he came and visited LSU. That
- 25:14Speaker 7: portal closed, but he entered before it closed. He could
- 25:17Speaker 7: sign whenever USC signed a kid for football, like three
- 25:20Speaker 7: weeks ago.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Yeah, see, I forgot about that. That's where I was wrong,
- 25:25Speaker 3: like a little bit. I had the misconception during the
- 25:29Speaker 3: portal window with football. It was like I thought it
- 25:31Speaker 3: had to be done in that window.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Then yeah, I will say, like my opinion on the
- 25:38Speaker 5: March Madness expanding thing is that at this point where
- 25:42Speaker 5: we are with college athletics, it doesn't make sense to
- 25:45Speaker 5: me because the last two years were super chalk.
- 25:48Speaker 6: So it's like, why are we that's seventy sixteen. Yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 6: maybe back when we used to have Cinderella's, but now
- 25:56Speaker 6: we don't.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Way more fun?
- 26:01Speaker 6: Yes, true, Like do y'all have a follow up?
- 26:03Speaker 2: No?
- 26:05Speaker 1: Right?
- 26:06Speaker 2: I was sitting there thinking like how many years has
- 26:08Speaker 2: been since we've like all been like captivated by like
- 26:12Speaker 2: a true cinder.
- 26:13Speaker 6: I mean, we picked all the ones and they all won.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Last couple of years.
- 26:17Speaker 7: Think about a final four, like I understand a team
- 26:19Speaker 7: upset the team in round one or.
- 26:21Speaker 4: To get to the sweet sixteen.
- 26:23Speaker 7: Like, who is the last true underdog mid major to
- 26:26Speaker 7: make it to the Final Four? Well, we know Loyola
- 26:29Speaker 7: Chicago member Sister Gene all that, like they made it.
- 26:32Speaker 2: It's almost like San Diego State as a like in
- 26:35Speaker 2: that category a really good basketball program.
- 26:38Speaker 4: And I don't know if I consider them.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Like, yeah, Mountain West is pretty good basket right, So
- 26:44Speaker 2: I mean I've seen Zaga doesn't count just because they're
- 26:47Speaker 2: the West Coast Conference.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Like mister Big and the Chat.
- 26:49Speaker 7: Yeah, a couple of years ago, Florida Atlantic made the
- 26:51Speaker 7: Final Four, Like that might be a just because they're
- 26:53Speaker 7: not a basketball power, but.
- 26:54Speaker 4: They're kind of few and far between.
- 26:55Speaker 2: It this just you made the coach of that team.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Probably I think he was. I think I think he
- 27:03Speaker 4: came from there.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that didn't count.
- 27:06Speaker 7: But like to a Lauder's point in one of the
- 27:08Speaker 7: articles that was saying, well, now we can get extra
- 27:11Speaker 7: big ten teams and extra SEC teams, And I'm like,
- 27:14Speaker 7: you want it to be more chalk at that point,
- 27:16Speaker 7: like you want to you just want to put more
- 27:18Speaker 7: big teams in.
- 27:19Speaker 4: What's the It's not really fun at that point.
- 27:21Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, you're kind of taken the madness out of
- 27:24Speaker 7: March madness.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Yeah, the guy just won the national championship and Michigan
- 27:27Speaker 2: was to coach that team.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Let me ask you this.
- 27:30Speaker 3: If l s U made the final four, is that like, say,
- 27:36Speaker 3: next the next couple of years, is that kind of
- 27:38Speaker 3: like a Florida Atlantic making it like it's just so
- 27:42Speaker 3: out left field?
- 27:43Speaker 4: I mean that what she's done it she made it six.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I mean it made it.
- 27:46Speaker 6: I don't hate that question.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I mean it's a fair question. It's not like we're
- 27:50Speaker 3: a powerhouse over here. Made it in six, that's the comp.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Well, I mean they made it.
- 27:56Speaker 3: What though in San Diego State? Which one is more
- 28:02Speaker 3: likely to make it? LSU or San Diego State in.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Recent times San Diego State.
- 28:09Speaker 6: I should Kawhi Leander went yeah, Loyal Chicago shout out
- 28:16Speaker 6: Sister Jean.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Rest in peace mm hmm, and David Allen co apparently
- 28:25Speaker 5: again again. It's the second time though.
- 28:29Speaker 2: LSU just needs to make the tournament.
- 28:31Speaker 3: But I know I'm just saying, like, what would be
- 28:33Speaker 3: the bigger up seventy six teams, Like if l you
- 28:36Speaker 3: made the final four, it'd be like, okay, well that's
- 28:39Speaker 3: that's not a chop team. Obviously I made a run,
- 28:44Speaker 3: Cinderella run. What would LSU in the final four next
- 28:47Speaker 3: year be a Cinderella story?
- 28:49Speaker 6: I think so?
- 28:49Speaker 2: Yes, what there we go. Still it's been on those
- 28:54Speaker 2: class slippers.
- 28:54Speaker 6: Let's be Cinderella's.
- 28:58Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you real quick. I'm gonna give you.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Let me give you. The last ten final fours go
- 29:05Speaker 2: back to twenty sixteen, Villanova, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Syracuse twenty seventeen,
- 29:10Speaker 2: North Carolina, Gonzaga, Oregon, South Carolina. That might be the
- 29:14Speaker 2: comp South Carolina twenty eighteen, Villanova, Michigan, Kansas, Loyala Chicago
- 29:19Speaker 2: twenty nineteen, Virginia, Texas Tech, Auburn, Michigan State twenty twenty.
- 29:24Speaker 2: There was no tournament twenty twenty one Baylor, Gonzaga, Houston,
- 29:27Speaker 2: Ucla twenty twenty two, Kansas, North Carolina Duke Villanova, that's
- 29:31Speaker 2: as blue as it can get. Twenty twenty three, Yukon,
- 29:34Speaker 2: San Diego State, Miami and Florida Atlantic. Maybe that one
- 29:38Speaker 2: as a whole was the one twenty twenty four, Yukon Perdue, Alabama,
- 29:42Speaker 2: inn c State twenty twenty five, Florida Houston Duke, Auburn
- 29:46Speaker 2: twenty twenty six, Michigan, Yukon, Arizona, Illinois. I would say
- 29:49Speaker 2: n C State making it in twenty twenty four would
- 29:51Speaker 2: be your comp like that was we consider that because
- 29:56Speaker 2: I think they were like an eleventh seed, So yeah,
- 29:59Speaker 2: we would consider that. Probably the same thing that Burns.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Yeah, d J Burns remember Heed Machine guy.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I guess I'd do the cop I just
- 30:11Speaker 3: felt like they're I think the most more of a
- 30:13Speaker 3: basketball they are.
- 30:14Speaker 4: But like to Jake's point, like that year specifically nobody
- 30:18Speaker 4: expected it. Weren't they a play in the team. I
- 30:23Speaker 4: think so because they were that eleven spot, that is
- 30:25Speaker 4: the play in.
- 30:25Speaker 3: So you say that next year, odds are whatever team
- 30:31Speaker 3: it is is going to be a playing team, have
- 30:33Speaker 3: the field.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Mm hmm I trying to think. I'm trying to see
- 30:43Speaker 2: how many final fours so new in c State's one. Okay, yes,
- 30:50Speaker 2: all right, you just gotta have more than one player.
- 30:52Speaker 6: Though, Yeah, definitely gotta gotta have five.
- 30:58Speaker 2: By the end of this week.
- 30:59Speaker 4: You don't, you're giving him a deadline.
- 31:02Speaker 6: You're like, will I need to by the end.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Of this seak In fairness, when the portal open for
- 31:08Speaker 3: football was said, this is lank Given's first gradable job
- 31:12Speaker 3: as the l s U head coach. Will Wade, this
- 31:15Speaker 3: is his first gradable job as the this time LSU
- 31:19Speaker 3: head coach. And right now, as of right now where
- 31:22Speaker 3: we're sitting right now, it's not good.
- 31:24Speaker 6: It's not I'm for right now in this moment, I'll
- 31:27Speaker 6: give him an F.
- 31:28Speaker 3: But maybe they're on their timeline. We just don't know
- 31:33Speaker 3: the timeline. Maybe there it's an aid to them in
- 31:36Speaker 3: their timeline. But for us waiting and waiting based on
- 31:41Speaker 3: the fact that you can't play basketball with just one,
- 31:43Speaker 3: it's an F so far.
- 31:45Speaker 2: You can't play with just one.
- 31:47Speaker 7: You can defense would be awful, player better be very good.
- 31:51Speaker 7: You'd be the worst defense in them.
- 31:53Speaker 3: I would say the closest comp we have to would
- 31:55Speaker 3: be space jam. Yeah, but he's still had a team around.
- 32:00Speaker 8: He did.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Bugs and bugs at hand.
- 32:04Speaker 2: I mean he did. They they played well that last game.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Well they had the they had the Magic Dream. Yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 2: that's true. So an F so far.
- 32:15Speaker 6: Yeah, sorry, Will.
- 32:18Speaker 3: It could be an a real easily.
- 32:21Speaker 2: And whenever it comes to a we'll let you know
- 32:23Speaker 2: if you get two players F plus minus minus. All right,
- 32:29Speaker 2: it is your own track. Let's go, let's track. Yeah,

- 33:50Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven Shams Purple and Gold to the core.
- 33:54Speaker 1: This is off the bench with Hester and Flynn, Matton,
- 33:58Speaker 1: Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 34:02Speaker 8: But you don't have to call me darlin, darling. You
- 34:11Speaker 8: never reven call me by minname.
- 34:21Speaker 2: You don't have called me all right, welcome back in
- 34:25Speaker 2: OTV here live from the Raise of Kane Studio. All Right,
- 34:28Speaker 2: this is gonna be a sports question, but not really.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I don't want you to get like two. You don't
- 34:32Speaker 2: to be too deep into it. But one of the
- 34:36Speaker 2: things about like the NFL Draft that I do love
- 34:39Speaker 2: is every team feels like they're in it now. Like
- 34:42Speaker 2: every team for the most part, is like we did
- 34:46Speaker 2: it season of hope, we got the guys. We are
- 34:49Speaker 2: going to change our fortunes like everybody, the Jets, the Browns,
- 34:54Speaker 2: the Raiders, like maybe not the jack Wars, but well
- 34:57Speaker 2: the Jacks were good last year though, so they can
- 35:00Speaker 2: hold on to that was there. A draft good doesn't
- 35:02Speaker 2: feel like it, but we'll see. I love it. Like
- 35:07Speaker 2: yesterday we had fan bases calling the afternoon show and
- 35:10Speaker 2: they're just like all in and I'm like, yeah, like
- 35:12Speaker 2: you're a Browns fans. Not gonna end well, but I
- 35:15Speaker 2: love that you're fired up about it. And I hope
- 35:18Speaker 2: it does in well because I love Todd Munkin. But
- 35:21Speaker 2: it's one of my favorites. Chances are, odds are it won't.
- 35:25Speaker 2: It won't. So let's be fans of the teams that
- 35:32Speaker 2: have added in free agency of the teams that have
- 35:34Speaker 2: added in the draft. Is there a team that maybe
- 35:39Speaker 2: historically it has not been great that we feel because
- 35:42Speaker 2: I feel, y'all, I feel overly confident about the New
- 35:45Speaker 2: York Giants. Like the Giants have won Super Bowls and
- 35:49Speaker 2: not that long ago. But it's either that, yeah, or
- 35:53Speaker 2: real bad. There's no in between. I'm like, you know what,
- 35:57Speaker 2: they got John Harball, they love Jackson Dart and Campskataboo.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Malik Neighbors is going to be healthy. You've got more
- 36:05Speaker 2: pass rushers maybe than anybody in the league. Now. You
- 36:08Speaker 2: got Burns and Thibadeaux and r Vel Reeves and you
- 36:11Speaker 2: got Abdua Carter. Yeah, they got tall to myself and
- 36:16Speaker 2: the Giants being really good.
- 36:18Speaker 3: When the Giants were fun mid season, it was like, man, wow,
- 36:23Speaker 3: what if Malik was out there with them? Yeah, Like
- 36:25Speaker 3: I don't know. Like it's kind of with the like
- 36:28Speaker 3: with the Jayden Daniels injury last year. You because they
- 36:32Speaker 3: got injured, like you forget how special they were the year.
- 36:35Speaker 3: But another team, you forget how special Jaydon Daniels, But
- 36:38Speaker 3: you also forget how good Molik Neighbors was, Like special
- 36:42Speaker 3: special and we know him because We're at LSU fans
- 36:46Speaker 3: and we saw him play a lot, so we don't
- 36:50Speaker 3: forget that, but the rest of the country they I
- 36:53Speaker 3: think they forget a little bit about how good he
- 36:55Speaker 3: actually was his rookie year. So that is certainly a
- 37:00Speaker 3: team that's got a lot of Jews that it's hard
- 37:05Speaker 3: to overlook. I mean, it's hard to overlook what Mickey's
- 37:09Speaker 3: done with the Saints. They've had a fantastic offseason.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Just agree, it's really that's one of the teams that
- 37:16Speaker 2: kind of came to mind, and I knew we'd find
- 37:18Speaker 2: our way.
- 37:18Speaker 3: To the We don't have to go now because I
- 37:21Speaker 3: was also going to me you brought up all the
- 37:23Speaker 3: bad teams that always this is the time of year
- 37:27Speaker 3: where just like you said, everybody the fan base has hope,
- 37:29Speaker 3: everybody has hope. There's always a chance. These are professional
- 37:32Speaker 3: football players. We're talking about the best in the world,
- 37:35Speaker 3: and like, if you have more top draft picks and
- 37:38Speaker 3: have a good offseason and sign some good vets, then
- 37:41Speaker 3: you always have a chance. Now we know based on
- 37:44Speaker 3: history that there's a handful of teams that don't seem
- 37:48Speaker 3: to ever have a chance because they do it to themselves. Uh,
- 37:51Speaker 3: and but the Raiders have also done a nice job
- 37:56Speaker 3: with everything. And that's just over the last couple of years.
- 37:59Speaker 3: With you know, they're always getting the top draft picks
- 38:01Speaker 3: and and they if Fernana Mendoza pans out, then there
- 38:06Speaker 3: are they're going to be.
- 38:08Speaker 2: They're going to be a tough beat.
- 38:09Speaker 3: At least, I said, what division is so good? Let
- 38:15Speaker 3: me go back to the Giants real quick. I think
- 38:17Speaker 3: John Harball is pretty overrated.
- 38:19Speaker 6: Oh, hot ta hot t.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I mean I think you think he's a good coach? Yes?
- 38:27Speaker 8: Right?
- 38:27Speaker 3: Do I think that a team or the Giants needed
- 38:31Speaker 3: to bend over backwards and give him that much.
- 38:35Speaker 6: And give them all the So you feel about John Harball,
- 38:40Speaker 6: correct me if I'm wrong.
- 38:41Speaker 5: I don't want to put words in your mouth about
- 38:43Speaker 5: John Harball the way we felt about link Kivin, Like
- 38:45Speaker 5: why are.
- 38:46Speaker 2: We Yeah, a little bit, like you've bent over? Is
- 38:49Speaker 2: he a good coach? Yes?
- 38:50Speaker 6: Yes?
- 38:51Speaker 2: Is he the perfect coach? No?
- 38:53Speaker 3: Right? And then a perfect coach?
- 38:56Speaker 2: This man, I don't know. I strongly disagree with you,
- 38:59Speaker 2: but I'm going to this guy has what is he?
- 39:04Speaker 3: He said, Some better teams than the outcome of their
- 39:07Speaker 3: seasons have ended up. Yeah, Hey, I won Super Bowl year. Great,
- 39:14Speaker 3: but he's blown a lot of games. He doesn't make
- 39:17Speaker 3: great decisions at the end of the games, and he's
- 39:19Speaker 3: done that for years and years and years, and a
- 39:22Speaker 3: lot of games that they've lost in big time situations
- 39:25Speaker 3: and games have been because of him or decisions that
- 39:29Speaker 3: were made.
- 39:31Speaker 7: I'm not with you in terms of I don't like
- 39:35Speaker 7: John Harball, but I didn't say I don't like Johns.
- 39:39Speaker 4: That's true.
- 39:39Speaker 7: You said he's overrated and overrated for what the Giants rated.
- 39:43Speaker 7: He's good, and maybe maybe he is a little bit
- 39:46Speaker 7: just because of what you just pointed out. Like, look,
- 39:48Speaker 7: I've been a huge Lamar Jackson critic. My thought of
- 39:50Speaker 7: Lamar Jackson is he's a great regular season quarterback, and
- 39:54Speaker 7: I think he has had a lot of missteps in
- 39:56Speaker 7: the playoffs. But I don't know if Harball quite takes
- 40:01Speaker 7: the same heat for those losses that a Lamar Jackson does,
- 40:05Speaker 7: and I'm I'm guilty of it.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Harball is a great regular season.
- 40:08Speaker 4: And I'm guilty of it.
- 40:09Speaker 7: I've been hard on Lamar, not quite as hard on Horrball,
- 40:13Speaker 7: but it's like there's gotta be a little bit of
- 40:15Speaker 7: That's a two Way Street.
- 40:17Speaker 4: M I like John Horrorball. I think he's a good coach.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It was thirteen. I will say that Lamar eleven in
- 40:25Speaker 2: the playoffs to winning record in the playoffs.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Lamar takes the heat that Harball should have shared. To
- 40:32Speaker 3: your point, Yeah, like again, because people, you know, want
- 40:36Speaker 3: to find ways that to hate.
- 40:38Speaker 4: And he's eight. He's the quarterback.
- 40:39Speaker 8: You know.
- 40:40Speaker 7: It's like, if you can't win in the playoffs, share
- 40:41Speaker 7: the quarterback, You're gonna take all the blame.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Like, I get it.
- 40:45Speaker 2: It's a weird take, is it. Yeah, I don't know. Look,
- 40:50Speaker 2: there's only so like, there's only like Bill Belichicks and
- 40:55Speaker 2: whoever else you Andy Reid's like, there's only like four
- 40:58Speaker 2: of those guys. Everybody else can't be that. I'm not
- 41:02Speaker 2: saying he's that, but my god, that right underneath tier
- 41:06Speaker 2: he's all up in that. Like he has won sixty
- 41:10Speaker 2: two percent of his games and has thirteen playoff wins
- 41:14Speaker 2: and has a winning record in the postseason. Oh, I'm
- 41:16Speaker 2: not even. I'm not even. And he has a Super
- 41:17Speaker 2: Bowl championship, not even.
- 41:19Speaker 4: He's overrated. I just for me personally, I probably should
- 41:23Speaker 4: have played.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Like Zay Flowers. He practices too hard. We played him
- 41:26Speaker 2: pads in Week sixteen. It's football? What was it was
- 41:31Speaker 2: supposed to be? Say Flowers, he's with the Ravens. He's
- 41:35Speaker 2: like we were playing. We had pads on a Week sixteen.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Every team I've ever been on have pads. It's football
- 41:40Speaker 2: playing pads. Don't play in spiders. No.
- 41:43Speaker 7: I just personally, I probably should have put a little
- 41:45Speaker 7: bit more of the blame on Harball. I'm not like,
- 41:47Speaker 7: I think John Harball is the top what borderline top five.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Raceio, which is really good. I just said he's he's
- 41:54Speaker 3: a really good head coach. I think for what he
- 41:58Speaker 3: was given, overrated. His sixty two percent sentence should have
- 42:03Speaker 3: been higher.
- 42:04Speaker 6: I get what you're saying.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Sixty two in prose is really really damn good.
- 42:09Speaker 3: It's really good. I just say he's a really good coach.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I'm just he's not.
- 42:13Speaker 6: Maybe overpaid is a better term to use, maybe, but
- 42:17Speaker 6: I get what you're saying.
- 42:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not.
- 42:21Speaker 7: I'm not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing with you. I just
- 42:26Speaker 7: I see where you're coming from. I'm not necessarily full
- 42:28Speaker 7: on agreeing.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Actly.
- 42:32Speaker 4: I like right now, I didn't well and I can
- 42:36Speaker 4: do and that's kind of the second thing. Right, he
- 42:39Speaker 4: is a massive upgrade for the New York Giants. In massive,
- 42:44Speaker 4: he might be the best. He's the best Giants coach
- 42:46Speaker 4: since Coughlan.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Right now.
- 42:48Speaker 4: I mean they've had a turnstyle of head coach.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Let's not act like this man is the best fourth
- 42:52Speaker 3: quarter head coach to ever walked the walking. Sure, it's
- 42:56Speaker 3: been at times been bad.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Yell boy, more old TV. When we come back here
- 43:06Speaker 2: live Raisin Caines Studio off the bench, all right. Always
- 43:11Speaker 2: want to remind you about AJ's not just for the
- 43:13Speaker 2: big event coming up, but AJ's obviously if you're looking
- 43:16Speaker 2: for trading cards, they are the go to place here
- 43:18Speaker 2: in ban Rouge. But they do have a show coming

- 43:33Speaker 2: fourteen Burbank Drive in bat Rouge. And guess what you
- 43:37Speaker 2: get to meet this guy that is Matthew Clayton Flynn.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Go seem, go hang out. He'll be there and pick
- 43:44Speaker 2: up some cards while you're there. That's ry the aj
- 43:46Speaker 2: Sports Cards Show.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Like, look, if you you've been thinking about hearing us
- 43:50Speaker 3: talk about sports cards, you just kind of want to dabble,

- 43:54Speaker 3: to Elite this Saturday, Bye, se Trade. It's gonna be awesome.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Like I've into one sports card show and it was
- 44:01Speaker 3: this one back in the fall. Supposed to be there
- 44:03Speaker 3: for like an hour. I ended up being there like
- 44:04Speaker 3: five hours.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Come to Ajay's Sports Card Show this Saturday over at
- 44:08Speaker 3: Elite Trading Academy.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU football twenty four to seven. You're
- 44:16Speaker 1: listening to off the Bench, all.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Right, I think we'll have to agree to disagree on
- 44:27Speaker 2: the John Harball situation. You know, coming up on the
- 44:31Speaker 2: clock here, we got into a little, you know, heated
- 44:33Speaker 2: discussion there about John Harball. Had to get rained back
- 44:37Speaker 2: in by the trying to flavor flav not like calling
- 44:40Speaker 2: for him to get stoned or anything. Just fourteenth all time,
- 44:44Speaker 2: fourteenth all time and win percentage. What's the difference between
- 44:47Speaker 2: Sean Payton, John Harball, Mike McCarthy their birth certificates. Because
- 44:53Speaker 2: Sean Payton's thirteenth with one super Bowl title, John Hawball's
- 44:56Speaker 2: fourteenth with one super Bowl title and Mike McCarthy's fifteenth
- 44:59Speaker 2: with one super Bowl title. Are they good coaches? Yeah?
- 45:02Speaker 2: Would you give them the power? By McCarthy, you hear
- 45:06Speaker 2: that your former player Matt Flynn doesn't think you're worth
- 45:09Speaker 2: the power. And on that note, we will take a
- 45:10Speaker 2: break more O t B when we come back our
- 45:12Speaker 2: number three here at on the Racing Game Studio. You
- 45:15Speaker 2: said it.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 45:19Speaker 2: That's a setup there. They're all ahead of Pete Carroll
- 45:22Speaker 2: by the way, go to buy you Automotive dot Com,
