Why does God sometimes call us away before He speaks to us deeply?
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly draws people away from noise, crowds, familiarity, and constant activity before revealing something deeper.
Moses encountered God in the wilderness. Elijah discovered that God was not in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a gentle whisper. Jesus Himself repeatedly withdrew from the crowds into solitary places to pray.
Perhaps separation is not always rejection.
Perhaps some quiet seasons are invitations.
