- 0:00Uh yeah, y'all seeing they said Lotto pulled up to Ice Spice hood with
- 0:05a whole bunch of cars to shoot scenes from a video, and I didn't
- 0:09see that. Yeah, yeah, they supposedly it's like a lyric from like
- 0:13some song that she's dropping or she dropped. I don't know. It's either
- 0:17she's dropping it or she dropped it. She has some lyric in it about
- 0:21pulling up to somebody's hood in twenty suburbans or something like that, and she
- 0:26pulled up to Ice Spice neighborhood like that, because I guess they've been going
- 0:30back and forth. M mmm, does getting grabbed me? Girl rappers are
- 0:37like guy rappers now. Yeah, there's a lot of female hip hop beef
- 0:43going on in the past, like a couple of months. Yeah, even
- 0:47that stuff with Nikki and Megan, that's kind of I don't know. I
- 0:50feel like Meghan got the halo effect right now though, So like right now,
- 0:54in public opinion, she can't do no wrong. Yeah, what is
- 0:57that? I just he personally, bro, I've just seen her do too
- 1:00much snake stuff, you know what, I mean? To give her a
- 1:03pass on everything, like she gets a pass on everything don't get me wrong,
- 1:07she wanted to be when it comes to the music, you know what
- 1:11I mean. When it came to the two songs, she wanted to be.
- 1:12But she gets a pass on way too much. Bro. I ever
- 1:15heard the Nikkis song you Don't Want To? Yeah, that's why I didn't.
- 1:22It hasn't played. They played them making song on satellite radio all the
- 1:26time. I haven't heard either song, but I did hear that Nikki was
- 1:30like writing some of the bars like on her Twitter before the song even dropped,
- 1:34and then when the song was like, oh you already wrote that on
- 1:38your Twitter, Like yeah. It was like imagine Tupac saying, first off,
- 1:42your vision to click, you playing, and then going and putting that
- 1:46the song you don't have the same effect, You don't hit the same Oh
- 1:51no, dog, I think they all lose all right, but let's get
- 1:56started. Yeah, that's why I don't listen because I still want to be
- 1:59fans of them. Welcome back to The Grounded Show, episode eighty two.
- 2:09Last week, we we caught up finally with Kevin Nunez. He got a
- 2:15fight coming up in a couple of weeks in Puerto Rico. Like we spoke
- 2:17about we sending a lot of spirit bomb energy his way. Yes, you
- 2:23know what I mean, hopefully he will defeat Freezer. But yeah, man,
- 2:29we were talking a little bit about the hip hop chicks and all the
- 2:32beef going on, Like I feel like everybody loses in that situation when they
- 2:38don't keep it hip hop, you know what I mean. Like that's really
- 2:40like the essence of battling is like you're just saying you nicer than somebody,
- 2:45and you're both trying to prove it. Like when they start like crossing these
- 2:49lines and stuff, and they're saying that they had an upsecurity at Meg thee
- 2:53Stallion's mom's grave because like Nicki Minaj was trying to pull up and giving the
- 3:00dress out online. Like that don't even make sense. Yeah, so I
- 3:05ain't gonna lie, Bro. I was gonna ask Joe Man, because you
- 3:08know Joe, Joe, my dog man. Joe said he ice spice fan,
- 3:13Bro, what you think about that fart song? Though the ship we're
- 3:17not even a far I'll be going hard. Bitches be rich, but I'm
- 3:23richer, so crazy Joe goes on for what is for, for what it's
- 3:30worth, That stupid ass New York drill Ship. I'm hooked. I can't
- 3:35see no world. I mean, I'm like, look, I Spice got
- 3:38that hell a little effect on Joe too. Oh it's because if I tell
- 3:44you some of the things that I try to go back and listen to,
- 3:46like some of her random stuff that's not popular, and I can't. I
- 3:51can't do that. But the stuff that is making it making into the popular
- 3:53scene. Actually I'm enjoying that. I'm enjoying the music, like, not
- 3:58for bars, not for lyrics, Yeah, like just for the energy that
- 4:03it comes with. Yeah, in the catchy, the catchiness of it,
- 4:08and it's so easy to just enjoy. So the first time you ever hear
- 4:12it, you already know all the words, and it's so easy to enjoy
- 4:14a song like that. I'm not rating it anything, but it's very easy
- 4:17to enjoy a song. For me. That's been a big topic lately,
- 4:21just with Killer Mike winning those Grammys, you know, sweeping the major rap
- 4:27category. Shout out to him, but a lot of people were I was
- 4:30listening to the Breakfast Club and they were taking like calls, people reacting,
- 4:33and you hear a lot of people saying, like, nobody's listening to Killer
- 4:38Mike, you know what I mean, Like that ain't a vibe, you
- 4:41know what I mean. So it kind of goes hand in hand with like
- 4:45what Joe was saying about I Spice, which you know, Joe's a fan
- 4:48of good music and he's a fan of pop music, like and when I
- 4:51say pop, I mean like popular music, and you can differentiate it,
- 4:56you know what I mean. It's like sometimes you know, a song might
- 5:00not be something you're gonna listen to for the rest of your life, but
- 5:01in the moment that you're in, it hits, you know what I mean,
- 5:04Like it works for what it is. And that was kind of like
- 5:09the debate with the Killer Mike album. That was something that we talked about
- 5:13here when it dropped, and Quincy, if you want to kind of give
- 5:16your feedback on the album and kind of how you feel about the blowback basically
- 5:21on people saying like how did he win all them categories? I remember,
- 5:27and I went back because I knew I had said something about the album when
- 5:30it dropped, but I just couldn't remember, and so I went back and
- 5:33found it and that's why I had, you know, kind of just replied
- 5:35to it. That. When I first heard the album, I say,
- 5:39Yo, this album might be better than Gunners. And the reason I said
- 5:44that was because when I was listening to it, you know, we've had
- 5:47the conversations about you know, NAS and the whole King's Disease trilogy, and
- 5:53you know, the bodies of work that he's now putting in with Boy as
- 5:59his producer, you know. And so when I heard Michael Killer Mike's album,
- 6:04that's the that's what I got from it. I got a great body
- 6:08of work, you know what I'm saying. There was some bangers, there
- 6:11was some real deep songs. There was some but overall it was a great
- 6:15body of work. And I feel like that's what a lot of audience,
- 6:20or at least music listeners, they don't have the same appreciation for a body
- 6:27of work, you know what I mean. It's like people are saying,
- 6:29like, you know, well, who's who's listening to Killer Mike. That's
- 6:32not a vibe. Okay. I get what you're saying. It may not
- 6:34be the funnest music, you know what I mean. It may not be
- 6:38Travis Scott Utopia. You know what I'm saying. I'm gonna get me wrong.
- 6:41I didn't even know if he had something out to be nominated for him.
- 6:45And but that's the thing though, is that when scientists and engineers drop
- 6:48it was it was a shockwave. You know what I'm saying. A lot
- 6:51of people know. That was the name of the song with Andre three thousand
- 6:55that he won a Grammy for. He won two Grammys for that song.
- 6:57Oh, he won the what was it the Best Rap Song, Best Rap
- 7:02Album? And what was the third one? And it was rap performance,
- 7:05Rap performance? Correct. Yeah, So you know when that song dropped because
- 7:11that song had Andre on it Future and I forgot the other person somebody else
- 7:15is on their collaborating as well. Great song, you know what I mean.
- 7:18That was like the first single off the album. And you know,
- 7:21I don't know. I just feel like as far as the body of work,
- 7:24you could tell that there was a lot of effort, There was a
- 7:26lot of time, There was a lot of thought put into the music,
- 7:30you know what I mean. And I feel like as a person that appreciates
- 7:34music, even when, like, for example, what you just said about
- 7:36Ice Spice, Joe, I'm not the biggest Ice Spice fan, but I
- 7:40feel where you're coming from. It is a fun vibe. You know what
- 7:43I'm saying, I can appreciate that from the music. Do I rock with
- 7:46it lyrically? Nah, you know what I'm saying, But it is a
- 7:49fun vibe. I can appreciate what you're talking about. So from coming from
- 7:54that perspective to me, out of all of the albums, even with KD
- 7:59three eighty two was on that list, we would have been talking to having
- 8:01a different conversation. But with KD three on that list, I thought that
- 8:05Michael was the best body of work. But do we know the full list
- 8:09of nominees for that those categories? And I'm a killer Mike fan, not
- 8:13even a hater. I just what my social media algorithm is. And from
- 8:20because I follow almost every complex site, I never see anything big Mic.
- 8:24Not just saying Complex is their job to put me on Big Mic, but
- 8:28just like that algorithm should bring in everybody from the industry because they see it.
- 8:33But I haven't seen anything about Big Mic. So that's the thing too,
- 8:37Killer Mike, Killer make And so that's the thing too, is that
- 8:41you know and this kind of goes to the point I think you asked.
- 8:43You were saying, like who is in the grammy committee, right, and
- 8:48I saw an interview with Candy Burris. Oh, I'm so sorry. Before
- 8:50I get into this answer your question, I'm pretty sure the albums were Her
- 8:54Eyes, Utopia, uh, Killer Mike's album, Michael, What am I
- 9:01missing? What am I miss? Katie two, and there's one Morning i'ming
- 9:05with Drake. Also, I was trying to look for it also and I
- 9:07can't find it for some reason. Well, yeah, so that was the
- 9:11majority of them. And but basically Candy Birds she was on an interview and
- 9:16this was a while back, but the video resurface of her basically saying that
- 9:20you know, she real quick that other nominees were Metro booming, heroes and
- 9:22villains, nas Kings, Disease three, Travis Scott, Utopia, Drake twenty
- 9:28one, Savage, Her Loss, best Man. No, that was just
- 9:33best rap song. Yeah, based off that list. I wouldn't have been
- 9:37mad with the Travis Scott one winning. But that's that's it. I'm not
- 9:41mad at that's it, Killer Michael. I just it's funny, man.
- 9:45Like this kind of goes back to the thing of like, should people value
- 9:50Grammys because they be in different moods depending on which year it is. You
- 9:54know what I mean, Like, if if they were on a more like
- 9:58vibe kind of Judgey way, they would have gave it to Travis Scott this
- 10:03year. So you know what I'm saying, Let's do what it is and
- 10:07it's not a tangent because we could still stay in this category. Because this
- 10:09is what my Mike comments with. And this is what when when jay Z
- 10:13first boycotted it. And it's funny because we won't get to deep in speech,
- 10:18but he said, you know it was a DJ Jessey, Jeffer Fresh
- 10:22Prince. They boycotted it, but they watched it in the hotel room.
- 10:24He boycott it. He watched it. Drake boycotts it. I don't know
- 10:28if he watches it. But the whole thing is about the voters, about
- 10:31the Grammy Committee it, like Drake said, he is, like, it's
- 10:33a secret society's that you could google it and you cannot see who is in
- 10:39it. It just says musicians, record producers, like random people in the
- 10:43industry, but it doesn't say exactly who out of seventy thousand members, ten
- 10:48thousand of them get to vote. Yeah, who are these people? Oh
- 10:52that's what I was saying. Candy Burr. She was on an interview a
- 10:56while back in Every Surface that she was a part of the voting at one
- 11:00point, and basically the way she described that, she was like, it's
- 11:03almost like a popularity contest. But you got to realize too, it's like
- 11:07a popularity contest amongst music industry people, right, So, like let's say
- 11:13Candy Burst is in there and she's voting. She doesn't know metro Booming,
- 11:18she doesn't know Travis Scott, right, And don't get me wrong, it
- 11:24doesn't always go like that, but it does sometimes. And then once the
- 11:30music people have voted, then it comes to whoever like the head people are
- 11:33and they make the final decision on who actually wins. And so that's how
- 11:37the process goes. I think that's fair. I mean that, and that
- 11:41touches too, like so, so I mean that's the mood of the voters.
- 11:48It's kind of like the same same thing they do for the end of
- 11:50the year awards in the NBA. It's certain writers and people part of the
- 11:56NBA and the media that vote for these awards, and and different people value
- 12:01different things. Some people value all around this, some people value scoring,
- 12:07some people value durability. Some people only value clutch factor and all these people
- 12:13are casting their votes. And that's why with the Grammys, with the NBA
- 12:16Awards, all these things, there's a lot of times where you kind of
- 12:20scratch your head, like this was kind of obvious, but they gave it
- 12:24to somebody else because they were just in that mood at that time, you
- 12:26know what I mean. Yeah, I will say though that you know,
- 12:35I loved when jay Z said, you know, at the end of the
- 12:39day, it's all opinionated, you know what I mean. But he didn't.
- 12:45I'll let you because you wanted to talk about this. I'll let you
- 12:46bring up because I think we should break down each one. Yeah. Number
- 12:52one, he said he was feeling good. When he feeling good, it
- 12:54tells the truth. And he said a lot of y'all should not even been
- 12:56nominated. Mh. So he's at that level he could say that, and
- 13:01we honestly feel the same. Like the level he's at. It's not like
- 13:05metro Booming could go up there and say that and get away with it,
- 13:09you know what I'm saying. So do you feel for jay Z saying something
- 13:11like that? That's credible? Like, yeah, I do feel about him
- 13:16saying that, like, do you think that messes up him winning now and
- 13:22anything going against that, or at his level he could say shit like that,
- 13:26it doesn't because this at his level, he's already accomplished. Anything that
- 13:30anything that you could try to take away from him in the future, he's
- 13:31already accomplished in the past, so you can't really take anything away from him,
- 13:35you know what I'm saying. But at the same time, you know
- 13:39him saying that, he's the person to say it. Let's be real,
- 13:43you know what I mean. He probably felt the responsibility to say that because,
- 13:46like your same point, Yeah, he's been on both fans of it,
- 13:50you know what I'm saying, outside of the industry looking in when he
- 13:52was trying to shop his first album and nobody wanted to sign him, and
- 13:54then he was at the top of the game as well, and now he's
- 13:58like a legacy artist, So he's both sides of it, and he's seen
- 14:01artists go through both sides of it, so he understands it on the level
- 14:05that a lot of people can't understand it, you know what I mean.
- 14:07And then it also hits home for him, you know what I mean,
- 14:09Like at the end of the day. You know what I mean. His
- 14:11wife's been stuffed how many times? Bro? Like he that point? Go
- 14:16ahead, you can go ahead. And there's a young woman who has one
- 14:20more categories than anybody in the world. Yeah, she's never won Album of
- 14:24the Year. Does that work? Impossible? How does that work? You
- 14:28win the most Grammys ever, but you win the most Grammys and categorically,
- 14:33but you never win Album of the Year. How does that work? Bro?
- 14:37It doesn't you know? It makes no He even said that, he
- 14:39said, by your own metrics, Like, you know, it makes no
- 14:43sense. But that's what I mean. What I'm as I'm watching this,
- 14:46it only saw the clip of the word speeches. As I'm watching it,
- 14:52I would think the Grammy people want to cut this off or cut him short.
- 14:56And it's I think that jay Z is the only person who can actually
- 15:00get through his whole speech and say that shit. Anybody else would have got
- 15:05cut off or it's like, yo, you're done by for the Grammys for
- 15:07you. And that's why I think it was just weird that they let it
- 15:11happen that because he has enough, he has enough power to influence that man.
- 15:16Like from the standpoint of if they didn't let it happen, it would
- 15:18have looked even worse. You get what I'm saying, Like, imagine he's
- 15:22saying something what he was saying, and then they start playing the music or
- 15:28I was waiting before. I was like, no, they're not. You
- 15:31can't. You gotta let it ride because it's like, if you cut him
- 15:35off, then you're validating everything he's saying, even though we all know it's
- 15:39true. The moment you cut it off and it's jay Z, this isn't
- 15:43Travis Scott, this isn't you know what lewis in the industry. He can
- 15:48like tell every artist that that folks with him just be like, yo,
- 15:52get out, bruh. You will probably never see another black person in the
- 15:56Grammy uh ceremony. If they cut him off. I just I think that's
- 16:03brave. I never seen anything like that. And the people let it rock.
- 16:07And then I even put Maley Sirius too, like they let it lie
- 16:11shit. Like Maley Sirius was saying it's her first Grammy ever, and you
- 16:15know she's a big star, and she started off a speech by saying this
- 16:21don't mean shit. She said, this is not going to change shit.
- 16:25I just wanted to you know, I'm super happy about this, but this
- 16:27doesn't change anything. She's like the same person I was last night, I
- 16:33still am today even with this Grammary like, this doesn't change nothing. It
- 16:37feels good, but it changes nothing. So she's even like, this shit
- 16:41means nothing to us, but we're glad we're getting it, and I feel
- 16:44like I'd just stay out all they want, but it does mean something.
- 16:47To the same thing with jay Z, like there's a reason why he was
- 16:48there. If if it was that serious, you know, if it was
- 16:53if he was really feeling that way, like that deep, he wouldn't even
- 16:56have been there to say that. He would have said that on an the
- 17:00platform, or he would have just set it the same night to kind of
- 17:03overshadow it, you know what I mean. At the end of the day,
- 17:06these Grammys to these artists means more checks. Those Grammys mean that you
- 17:11can you know, you have longevity with your music, because when you stamp
- 17:15that Grammy winning next to it, it kind of puts it in people's mind
- 17:18that this music is timeless. So you know, you can make money off
- 17:22being a Grammy winning, even Grammy nominated, Like even the nominations some people
- 17:26are just super hype that they got nominated. They don't even care if they
- 17:30win or not because they can just add that to their bio. You know
- 17:33what I'm saying. Yeah, Like I know when people do events like celebrity
- 17:37events and like, oh Grammy nominated artists about it again, I'm even win
- 17:41a Grammy. But that so that's that was my four point. As artists,
- 17:47it would still matter, right, Yeah, I mean that level and
- 17:52make it to that level and win a Grammy, that's just gonna mappen.
- 17:56Grammy is I mean real quick, my eyes are. Grammy means you can
- 18:00monetize better. So it's gonna mean something even if you don't care about the
- 18:04value of it as far as the opinion thing goes, it still means,
- 18:08hey, I can make more money now because I'm Grammy nominated or Grammy winning.
- 18:12Yeah, I will say as an artist, Yeah, for if you
- 18:18look at all of those who was it Sizza, all of those people they
- 18:22got their first Grammy and how excited they were, it still means yeah,
- 18:26you know what I'm saying, It still means something. But like I will
- 18:30say to somebody like jay Z, like he even said in his speech,
- 18:34you know what I'm saying, no matter what, to show up, and
- 18:37how can he say that and not do it, you know what I'm saying.
- 18:40So it's like at the end of the day, you know, And
- 18:42that's one thing you've noticed, bro, every year that they've gotten well,
- 18:45we would consider that Beyonce was snubbed. She was there, She showed up
- 18:51every year, she was there in the audience, so you know, they're
- 18:55probably like, let's go get your stuff to not wear nothing. Yeah,
- 18:57exactly. And I mean then after he accepted his award, he walked out,
- 19:03you know what I mean, he said we had to say, he
- 19:03walked out. So I really I respected that, man. I truly did
- 19:08respect that a lot because I felt like that was, to me, like
- 19:11probably one of the highlights of the night, you know, just from a
- 19:15standpoint of like, I don't know, I just feel like that was a
- 19:18real last thing to do and a real last thing to say in that moment.
- 19:21Yeah, I forgot who made the connection. I think it might have
- 19:23been a comedy podcast, but they were mentioning how even the oh it was
- 19:30Jamie Kennedy and Bobby Lee. They were talking about how even with this legacy
- 19:36media period, like the Emmys were like the lowest rated Emmys of all time,
- 19:40the ones that just passed, you know what I mean. So you
- 19:44go to the Grammy thing where a lot of artists are kind of like dismissing
- 19:47it, even though, like like we were saying, it still means something,
- 19:49But a lot of artists try to downplay. You know, a lot
- 19:52of artists don't go to the ceremony. You know, before it was like
- 19:56a who's who. That was like the attraction all these people in the same
- 19:59building. Now it ain't like that no more. But the thing with these
- 20:03awards and these committees and everything, people are kind of like starting to devalue
- 20:08them and it's more like doing your own thing. They said something real interesting
- 20:14that it's like, even even when you're doing a big project, you're not
- 20:19getting paid. Like if a YouTuber is going to bring you on for a
- 20:25stream, you know, a YouTuber will give you a six figure amount just
- 20:29to come on for one stream because they know how much money it's going to
- 20:33bring. They know how to monetize it. They know how to make those
- 20:36clips and that video and all that content that you're making from that make them
- 20:40a million You know what, I'm saying, so a lot of people could
- 20:44think, like, why am I going to do this project for five thousand
- 20:47dollars? It's going to take three weeks of my time and I'm going to
- 20:49have to listen to some guy tell me what I have to do and you
- 20:53know, critique me and do all this this and that. When I can
- 20:57go, you know, do a stream with this guy and get one hundred
- 21:02and fifty thousand, When I can go do a show at a comedy room
- 21:06and make you know, you know, twenty thousand that night for filling you
- 21:11know, just off of filling the room and all that stuff related to it.
- 21:14There's just so many other ways that artists are kind of figuring out that
- 21:18they can monetize, slash reach people themselves that I feel like if the Grammys
- 21:26and the Emmys and the Oscars, all them things, if they don't catch
- 21:29up, they're gonna get left behind. Because think about it, man,
- 21:33Like they're not even including anything that comes from social media or like anything that's
- 21:41not in Hollywood. They're not even considering it for the Oscars. They're not
- 21:45considering it for the Emmys, they're not considering it for the Grammys. So
- 21:49until they include these people that are actually like moving the needle in real life
- 21:56with actual people following them and actual people buying and commenting about what they're doing.
- 22:03Nobody's gonna watch and nobody's gonna care. Mm hmm. That's basically what's
- 22:07happening, right, That's what I'm saying. So it's that time, right,
- 22:11just like I think like the Screen Actors Guild strike and how so they
- 22:18all went to like the B League of the Screen Night, Like, I
- 22:21think all the B League people are gonna start just starting their own shit instead
- 22:26of trying to make it to the A League to prove a bunch of motherfuckers
- 22:30who don't even care about them. Jamie Kennedy was saying that real quick,
- 22:34what show is that? Because I love those two guys, and I didn't
- 22:37know they had a podcasts together. They don't have a podcast together. He
- 22:40was just interviewing Jamie Kennedy. So Bobby Lee has a podcast with his ex
- 22:45girlfriend, yeah, and then he has the one with the redheaded comedian Andrew
- 22:48Santino. So the one with his ex girlfriend is called Tiger Belly, and
- 22:55he had just used a lot of comedians on there. But basically, I
- 22:59don't know if Jamie Kennedy was just blowing smoke when he was talking to Bobby,
- 23:03but he was saying that a very well known, legacy type publicist that
- 23:10he knows well. He was talking to her and he mentioned I'm going to
- 23:14go on Bobby's show, and she reacted like, oh, like it was
- 23:17a big deal, and she was basically saying that right now, going on
- 23:22late night doing an interview on a set is not going to bring you as
- 23:25much as being on somebody like a Bobby Lee's podcast, Like you can get
- 23:30more for your career, slash more money out of making a podcast appearance on
- 23:34Bobby Lee's show than you can, you know, be shim or that's crazy.
- 23:40I always wonder why a lot of it, Why not everybody does that?
- 23:42I never I never considered that fact. And because those shows are basically
- 23:48like what the podcasts are now, but that's what they were before. You
- 23:51know, they're bringing random people doing things, you know, excelling in their
- 23:56field, comedians, actors, whatever, but especially for comedians they were hoping
- 24:00to get you know, asked up there to just have that you know,
- 24:04every day talk, water cooler kind of conversation. Make it Funny do their
- 24:08set, and after that it's it's kind of like the Grammy thing, you
- 24:11know what I mean. You say, late night, late night appearance.
- 24:15You know, you know you've been on the late night show five times,
- 24:18you know, and people will go out to see you because they're like,
- 24:21dang, he was on Conan or dang he was on Jimmy Kimmel. You
- 24:23know what I'm saying. Now they can say things like, oh, I
- 24:26was on Joe Rogan's podcast or I was on Bobby Lee's podcast, and it's
- 24:30something like, oh my, oh I was on Tom Segura podcast and they're
- 24:33like, oh my gosh, like you were on that. It's like a
- 24:37whole different you know, a whole different audience. Yeah, just a different
- 24:41media source now exactly. Yeah. I become a big fan of Bobby Lee
- 24:48out of nowhere, and I like his tiger belly better than the one he
- 24:52has with, saying Tina, I think like bad bad best friends friends.
- 24:56Yeah. Yeah, I listened to him both. I haven't really thought about
- 25:02which one I like more, just because I always just associated with him,
- 25:06So sometimes I don't even know which one I'm listening to because I got both
- 25:08my feed. You know what I mean. Yeah, but I don't know
- 25:11if y'all watched that Bobby Outtop girl who did that one with Drake when they
- 25:17were in the bed that girls called the really good podcast and everybody called her
- 25:21a plant because she's had like some of the biggest stars everywhere on her on
- 25:26her podcast. But she did one with him, Bobby and Bobby that she
- 25:30was like she did one with Sukiana. I don't know if you know.
- 25:33Anyway, the podcast game is crazy right now with who you get on your
- 25:38show and the thing with the chick you was talking about. She is kind
- 25:47of like a representation of quote unquote the industry, and that's why a lot
- 25:49of people in that kind of space kind of rejected her because they kind of
- 25:53knew somebody with money was behind her for her to have these interviews when you
- 25:57come out of nowhere that way, you know what I'm saying. So they
- 26:00kind of, I guess, not really shunned her, but they kind of
- 26:04scrutinized her a little more than other people because of the opportunity that they felt
- 26:10like she got, which I thought was kind of like, Okay, I
- 26:14mean, she came out of nowhere, but she's here. If she's funny,
- 26:17she's funny. If she's not funny, she's not funny. You know
- 26:18what I mean, Like just talk about it that way, you know,
- 26:22the whole plant thing or whatever. Like people get their opportunities, however they're
- 26:26gonna get them. Like for as much of as much shit that we talk,
- 26:30if somebody came to you with a skip ten steps ahead opportunity right now,
- 26:34all of us would take it that. We wouldn't care whose toes we
- 26:37stepping on, we wouldn't care whose opportunity we squandering. We'll be like,
- 26:41no, this is my shot, I'm gonna take it. So that thing
- 26:45is kind of funny to me. But I do, like you were saying,
- 26:48Joe about Bobby Lee, he's super dope because I feel like he was
- 26:52kind of suppressed because of the way that he is, and you can kind
- 26:56of get that vibe from the podcast that he does, like that he might
- 27:00not rub certain people the right way in Hollywood and that kind of he's able
- 27:07to shine through the podcast and those doors being open for him don't really matter
- 27:11like they used to, you know. Yeah they shout out to club man,
- 27:15he popping out, Yeah, and yeah, that's what's crazy and thinking
- 27:19about. And that's what I hate about my YouTube algorithm. Bro. Like,
- 27:25I was on a big role with THEO Vaughn Right and Drink Champs and
- 27:33a couple other ones, and then I got into new ones, and so
- 27:36since it's a new one, I tried to catch up with him. I
- 27:37caught up with a bunch of Tiger Bellies, a bunch of I got a
- 27:41couple of bunch of Bobby Bobby ones. And now my algorithm, I don't
- 27:45see any new Diovan episodes. I don't see any new Drink Chams episodes barely
- 27:52pop up. It's like, damn, like keep them there. I didn't
- 27:55say I don't like them. My theory about that is, I think because,
- 28:00at least for me, because I have the same issue, I'll be
- 28:03like, yo, what it like when I pull up somebody show me.
- 28:04Yeah, when I open my YouTube, I'm like, who is this?
- 28:07Like I don't even know what these videos are. I don't even know half
- 28:10the things. But I think it's because at least me, i'll type random
- 28:15stuff in my YouTube, like just for tutorials and stuff, you know,
- 28:18I mean, like stuff around the house type doing for work. Yeah,
- 28:22I'm trying to figure something random ode I'll look it up, you know what
- 28:26I mean. So I think like those random searches kind of throws it all
- 28:30off, you know what I mean. Also, I think it has to
- 28:33do with the time that you look too, because one thing I noticed is
- 28:36that anytime I look at I pull up YouTube at night, anytime like after
- 28:40ten thirty eleven, I automatically cut. He's stupid as hell. It's the
- 28:49video the rain noises, you know, the stuff to go to sleep.
- 28:53Yeah, I'll do that. Oh yeah, yeah, that's good. That's
- 28:56a good point, you know that. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. During
- 29:00the day, it's my little because now my new thing when I work is
- 29:03I play like these house speeds. It's like these random people just dan.
- 29:07It's like it's like low five, but it's like house to be a little
- 29:10bit more upper. And yeah, during the day I get a million of
- 29:14those videos and then in the afternoon they just stopped coming up. Damn.
- 29:17I didn't think at the time. M Yeah, that's crazy. YouTube.
- 29:23YouTube is working on the fourth level and we over here thinking in two D,
- 29:30right, But that affects like the views for the actual people we want
- 29:36to support, Like, doesn't mean I only want to do watch have those
- 29:41videos recommended at a certain point of time. Like I hate that I have
- 29:45to go on and go in my subscriber list and find the people. Like
- 29:49I watched New rock Stars New rock Stars. There's this channel that breaks down
- 29:53like like Marvel episodes for like Easter Eggs and like stuff you and I want
- 30:02to know if there's a new one, and barely because I barely watched those
- 30:04only like maybe once a week after an episode, I have to go hunting
- 30:08for it. It's like how do I go hunting for a new video of
- 30:11someone else ascribe to? Like that just makes no sense. And I feel
- 30:15like now there's a ship to the videos of theirs I didn't watch that I'm
- 30:19not even gonna watch some so behind and I think like they that the whole
- 30:25trying to get it perfect is actually messing up for the organic one review video
- 30:30type thing. Yeah, yeah, it's funny how we kind of it's how
- 30:38do you say, like you curate your own algorithm basically, but we always
- 30:45have to like calibrate it, you know what I mean, Like it kind
- 30:48of like goes out of whack and then starts throwing you random stuff and you're
- 30:52kind of like, what the heck, and then you got to kind of
- 30:53like readjust it and I don't know, man, I noticed recently that I've
- 31:03gotten the algorithm for specifically like TikTok really good. So I've been catching myself
- 31:07in that you know, scroll thing where I'm just on it for like thirty
- 31:11minutes, you know what I mean, just looking at different stuff, and
- 31:15I kind of like, how do you damn? Man, I can't find
- 31:21a word, Like I'm kind of oh, there it goes. I'm kind
- 31:23of torn whenever I do that because every time I'm scrolling for like thirty minutes,
- 31:29I feel like the algorithm is good in the point of view of like
- 31:32it gives me the kind of stuff that I like to see, and a
- 31:34lot of it is very informational. But at the same time, I'm stuck
- 31:38on my phone, so like trying to figure out, like is this a
- 31:42good idea is and not a good idea? Should I just still limit it?
- 31:47Even though it's giving me good information, It's it's kind of like getting
- 31:52like too optimal, you know what I mean. Yeah, because it's like
- 31:56there's there's so many everything's on the internet as far as like whatever you want
- 32:00to do, So like whatever you're trying to get into, you can find
- 32:04a video that will break it down for you how to do it. Like
- 32:07it's like anything you want to do is at your fingertips, So it's like
- 32:10should should things be that way? What do y'all think? That's what it's
- 32:17there for? Right? I mean I think that's natural, though, Like
- 32:22do you think that's something? Oh? Not at all, not at all,
- 32:25But I don't. I don't think living during these times, you can
- 32:30survive without it, as someone else with that information you have the fingertips could
- 32:36Yeah, what do you think, Quincy, I don't know. I feel
- 32:39like I don't know. One of the things I've noticed and I'll get to
- 32:44it. One of the things I noticed is that like if I'm on Instagram
- 32:47is like that and I'm just scrolling and I stopped for like two seconds on
- 32:52let's say, a video about Kat Williams, I'm just whatever, I'll scroll
- 32:57a little bit more and now it's another interer repretation of Kat Williams, And
- 33:01like, I feel like it almost kind of forces you even if you know
- 33:07what I mean, you may not have actually been really interested. Maybe the
- 33:09video just caught your Yeah, I mean that's that's pretty much at the end
- 33:12of the day, what the algorithm is geared to do. Ye, Like
- 33:16they have so much data just on like what's going to hook somebody, what
- 33:22you know, how you catch somebody to actually like watch the whole thing,
- 33:24how to structure the videos. Like even if you go on TikTok, now
- 33:29they have a disclaimer on the bottom, Like if you look, some of
- 33:32the pages will say this page is an AI generated page. Wow, it's
- 33:37a page that is just AI data that's like just automatically posting all the time.
- 33:43That's crazy. And sometimes those be the videos I'll be watching. Then
- 33:45I look and I'll see that disclaimer on the bottom, and I'm like,
- 33:50oh shit, yeah, Like it's kind of like whoa, like this is
- 33:54happening and go I was gonna say, I just feel like it creates such
- 33:59a group thing mentality, you know what I mean, Like where it's like
- 34:04that's why it's like there was a time where it was like every social media
- 34:07had its nit niche. You know what I'm saying, niche, I said,
- 34:10every social media had that. Now it feels like they've all become the
- 34:15same concept of force feed. You know what I'm saying, information like I
- 34:22don't know, And that's super true, because y'all, y'all definitely should listen
- 34:25to that podcast with Jamie Kennedy because they were talking about it just dropped.
- 34:32I think it dropped today, matter of fact, but it's not in my
- 34:37fucking YouTube algorithm to tell you that much. Crazy, but they were talking
- 34:42about how like a lot of right wing actors even were kind of shunned,
- 34:45or right wing comedians were getting shunned because they had, you know, right
- 34:51wing views, and it's kind of like, now, like you were saying,
- 34:54Quincy, they don't even want to show you anything about what people are
- 34:59thinking about on the quote unquote other side because they want to keep you in
- 35:02like your own little world where you're just feeding yourself with stuff that you agree
- 35:07with, slash like so you don't have to take in any other opinions,
- 35:10you know what I'm saying, Like, I'm in the middle right now of
- 35:13the Joe Rogan and Aaron Rodgers podcast. They dropped one today, matter of
- 35:16fact. They did a new interview, and I'm not gonna lie. Some
- 35:23of the stuff is like I'm like, all right, bro, you know
- 35:27what I'm saying, it's not necessarily like one hundred percent of my demographic.
- 35:30When I listen to Joe Rogan and Aaron Rodgers talking, it's hard. It's
- 35:36hard for me, but I try, but I want to. I want
- 35:38to hear what everybody you know what I'm saying. Like if I if I
- 35:42like those two guys separately, AO and I enjoy what they do as far
- 35:47as comedy football, I'll listen to what you know. I might not agree
- 35:52with it, but I'll listen to what they got to say. I like
- 35:53to hear how they think because that's how other people think. They're not the
- 35:57only people out here that think that way, and you can at least understand
- 36:00where they're coming from. And even if you don't agree, you can say,
- 36:04all right, so this is what you're thinking, and this is why
- 36:06you're thinking. It makes sense. I don't see that episode needs you to
- 36:09find it something to me. It's not anywhere on YouTube, but I'll send
- 36:14it to you for sure. I got it on my podcast side. No,
- 36:17but I think back in the day without social media, you were just
- 36:21as blind and you were just as calmon to fall into the sheep mentality because
- 36:25you had no other way to verify except that ten people on your block thought
- 36:30this way. Ten people on your block is enough for you to think that
- 36:35way too, unless you could find a way to find the information yourself,
- 36:37which back then and this is just easy in the nineties early two thousands.
- 36:42But I will make this point early in social media, and I'm not saying
- 36:47it was right, but people you would see a lot more people actually debating
- 36:53so because it wasn't algorithmic so exactly, it used to be based off recency
- 36:59and they could have gets shadow band not just but it wasn't feeding you what
- 37:04you want to see. So that I say all that to say, like,
- 37:07the reason you don't see that no more is because the people that don't
- 37:09agree with what you're saying aren't seeing it. Yeah, you know, yeah,
- 37:15it's a it's a division that they It's funny, man, because I
- 37:20always talk about kind of creating your own world and everything, but I don't
- 37:25like it from I don't like that idea from the point of view of what
- 37:29you're talking about, Quincy, where you kind of like create a bubble where
- 37:31you're only feeding yourself with stuff that feeds what you think and only stuff that
- 37:37agrees with you, and you're staying in that bubble and you're very protective of
- 37:40that bubble because you don't want to hear any other It's like, that's like
- 37:45a different there's a difference between creating ignorance. I wouldn't say ignorance. I
- 37:52would just say it's like like I said, like you're you're choosing to live
- 37:57in in your truth. You're not even I wouldn't even say bubble from the
- 38:01sense of they are your truths. It's not fake, you know what I'm
- 38:07saying. You can you can choose to say I'm not going to really care
- 38:10about any of this other stuff because this is what I'm on and the people
- 38:14that i'm that I associate with think that same way. So this is what
- 38:17I'm about, you know what I'm saying. It's you know, like I
- 38:22said, I can see both sides of it, because there's a value to
- 38:27knowing kind of what everybody's thinking, just from the point of view of like
- 38:31what these groups are and where they lean. But at the same time,
- 38:37is it really going to affect you either way if you know or not,
- 38:39because it's gonna happen regardless. You kind of get what I'm saying that's I
- 38:45feel like that's kind of like the big because kind of like talking about race
- 38:50with it. I feel like that's one of the big things that a lot
- 38:53of minorities get mad about at white people. But I feel white peop because
- 39:00it's like we want them to like be part of this fight with us,
- 39:04and we want them to like understand, like, Bro, there's a lot
- 39:07of racist white people. But it's like, if you're not a racist white
- 39:09person, you're not trying to hear that shit, you know what I'm saying,
- 39:13Like you don't, you don't have no problem with nobody, Like if
- 39:15somebody else does, I don't care, you know what I'm saying. And
- 39:20it's like they like people like that can't have that opinion because it'll be looked
- 39:24at like, oh, you don't care about nobody else. But it's the
- 39:28same thing as like like that's another thing that's funny too, dog like even
- 39:32and I'm guilty of it. Bro. We make all these white jokes.
- 39:37Bro, if they did that shit the other way around that openly as we
- 39:40do it, Bro, we wouldn't be fighting all the time. Yeah,
- 39:45you know what I'm saying, because like, Bro, we be saying some
- 39:47wild shit in front of them, dog, and they just be laughing it
- 39:51off. You know that's crazy, man, you know what I'm saying.
- 39:53But dog, like, we be selling out bro. If they say some
- 39:58wild shit like like that's a US bro, it would be yeah, they
- 40:02would have been wiped out by now. Really yeah, I feel like but
- 40:08you know, I will say this though, you know, like you just
- 40:13said, you stay and they kind of laugh it off. The difference is
- 40:17is that you know a lot of times they'll say it behind closed doors,
- 40:22or like you said, Lester, they'll say it to you thinking you're okay
- 40:24with it because of your complexion, you know what I mean. It's like
- 40:28that kind of stuff. But think about it from this point of view.
- 40:30How many times publicly have you made a white people joke? Too many?
- 40:37Right? Oh yeah yeah, bruh. If you met a white dude that
- 40:40made as many black jokes as you made white jokes, you wouldn't be offended.
- 40:45No, And you know what, and I want to that'd be a
- 40:49cool question, asked Jarry one day. And I see that in like comedy
- 40:53like the the white jokes from minority comedians can be distress respectful and they still
- 41:01make the crowd laugh and everybody laughs. But if the if the minority joke
- 41:07of a white person is disrespectful, everybody's like, we can't fuck with that.
- 41:15It's like a dangerous line, you know. Yeah, and it happens
- 41:16to me too, Bro. I'll watch Spanish Asian black comedians sellout on white
- 41:23people all the time and I'll be like this, brou but like I'm gonna
- 41:30call it out. Like I watched Shane Gillis Special and there was a time
- 41:36I was like, yeah, you know what I mean, Like things that
- 41:40I'm like, I don't know, Bro, I don't know if you're funny
- 41:44or not a crossing, Like would I have felt differently if he was black
- 41:49or Spanish? You know what I mean? It was like, it's crazy,
- 41:52bro, Like there's so many, so many different angles to it.
- 41:55But then at the end of the day, speaking about the comedy part of
- 42:00it, it's the same in comedy, like as long as it's funny and
- 42:04you're doing it artfully. I think Seth Rogan said it on Comedians and Cars
- 42:08with Jerry Seinfeld, Like I forgot exactly how he said it, but basically
- 42:13what he was saying is the joke. The audience wants to know that,
- 42:19you know, it's a joke, Like everybody needs to know that everybody's in
- 42:22on the joke. If you try to tell a joke in a way,
- 42:25like a disrespectful joke, in a way where like you're trying to play it
- 42:29straight or you're not acknowledging that there's an elephant in the room with it,
- 42:34that's where you kind of lose people, you know what I mean, Like
- 42:37you got to be artful about it, and you also got to address it
- 42:39in a way of understanding the gravity of it. Basically is like what he's
- 42:43saying. And it's like if you're doing it, if it's just funny and
- 42:46you're making sure that the funny is the important part of it, it's always
- 42:50going to pass, you know what I'm saying, Because same thing bro like
- 42:54from the other side, Like I've been to comedy shows like little random ones
- 42:59where it's like a comedian that's been doing comedy for three years, five years
- 43:02a year, you know what I'm saying, and it's a white comedian and
- 43:05they throw like some just random like racial zingers, and I'll just be cracking
- 43:09up because it's just funny. You know what I'm saying, you can tell
- 43:12us just in the spirit of comedy as opposed to like the spirit of like,
- 43:15oh, I don't know, bro, you're saying it kind of you
- 43:17know, you're saying something kind of different right now. Yeah, no,
- 43:23no, no, I would say I could feel I definitely received certain things
- 43:28that way too. Yeah, but I think it also goes to the point
- 43:32of, uh, kind of the video that you guys checked out earlier with
- 43:37Daniel Colulia, the actor from Britain Stand Black actor and basically you know he
- 43:43and I've never heard it, Yeah yeah, get Out, get Out and
- 43:47a few other things too, like his main Yeah yeah, but you know,
- 43:54I never heard it broken down in the way he did it. And
- 43:58y'all can correct me if I'm wrong, because I know I saw the video.
- 44:00But basically he said he said that, like, you know, being
- 44:06or calling racism is like almost like having being having the symptoms of a disease
- 44:13but not being able to diagnose it because basically you're the one with the symptoms,
- 44:20so you have like almost the bias you know of I'm the one dealing
- 44:24with this, so it's it's it's racism. But you know, from him
- 44:29and his experience. You know, he was basically told by his manager,
- 44:31white manager, hey, you didn't get the role because you're black, and
- 44:36you know he went and told you know, someone else. He's like,
- 44:38yeah, I didn't get the role because I'm black, and they were like
- 44:40no, no, no. He was like, nah, my manager said
- 44:43I didn't get the role because I'm black. And then it was like,
- 44:45oh, wow, that's unfortunate. And it's like, you know, you
- 44:51can't really say, oh, this situation. You know, I'm being treated
- 44:55this way because of my race. Somebody else up outside of your race has
- 45:00to call it. So it's like going back to what you're saying, Lester,
- 45:02you know, we can laugh about these things because it's you know,
- 45:06we I would say, we joke about certain things that they don't have to
- 45:09worry about on a day to day basis. So like when a white person
- 45:13jokes about something that subconsciously I have to worry about on a day to day
- 45:16basis, it's going to hit a little different. It's almost like you know,
- 45:22saying the fat joke too many times to the fat kid. You know,
- 45:24like, yeah, he knows he's fat, you know what I mean,
- 45:27Like he's been fat all his life and he has to deal with the
- 45:30consequences of that. But the worst part about that is that being fat you
- 45:34can change. You can't change your race, you know. And I think
- 45:37I think you kind of you kind of relate to that in the aspect of
- 45:44opportunities. Oh yeah, and opportunities that were uh, look, you were
- 45:50looked over. And it's like, yo, just say it. Oh yeah,
- 45:52Like you almost feel a little more comfortable knowing that, Like that's the
- 45:58reason why, because you're not doubting yourself more. You're not down in your
- 46:00talents. You're just like, yo, it's just yeah, I'd rather you
- 46:04tell me straight up, like honestly, Quincy. And I mean, obviously
- 46:07it's not legal, but I'd rather you tell me straight up, Quincy,
- 46:08honestly, you didn't get that role because you're black. At least I know
- 46:13that I deserve the role. Like I know I do, but at least
- 46:15I know that I deserve the role. You just have your personal you know,
- 46:20bias or whatever towards me. But you know, when a person is
- 46:23denied a role eight times, after a while, they start to question themselves,
- 46:27you know what I'm saying. And it's just it's weird, man,
- 46:31It's something that you know, people deal with day to day. And the
- 46:36one comment that the interviewer said to Daniel that I thought was so interesting was
- 46:40that he said that is an interesting prison to live in, and I've never
- 46:45heard it said that way, and that that is such a crazy way to
- 46:49put it. Because it is in it, you got to accept it,
- 46:52you know, yes, it's interesting. But to go back to your point,
- 46:57Lester, I feel like that's why there's a little tiptoe line, you
- 47:00know, when it comes to white people saying those jokes versus minority saying those
- 47:05jokes, because it's like we're joking off of the privileged. If the privilege
- 47:12jokes off of the unfortunate, I wouldn't stay unfortunate. But the people that
- 47:16are less privileged, it can be treated as almost a little different, you
- 47:21know what I mean. I don't know how to really put it into words,
- 47:22but it's treated a little differently. Yeah, it's definitely a very different
- 47:27perception. And you know that is related to that. I take go ahead,
- 47:36and it's funny man, because you know, I'm not I'm not necessarily
- 47:42you know, the defender here, but I could see it from their point
- 47:45of view, dog like it just you know, just from the human side
- 47:51of it of like bro like, I'm not trying to carry nobody else's burden.
- 47:53I'm just living my life like I can get that, you know what
- 47:57I'm saying, Like there there's a obviously like a lot of nuance on top
- 48:00of it, and that's life, you know what I'm saying, Like there's
- 48:02always like that roote thing that it just it's a pure emotion, but the
- 48:08outside factors always muddy it up, you know what I'm saying. But I
- 48:14will say this, let's be real, I've definitely had you know what I
- 48:17mean, my I guess you could say white friends that like after a while
- 48:23when you when you know, like their intentions are not you know what I'm
- 48:29saying, dark or anything like that, where they get the little pass,
- 48:32you know what I'm saying, at least for me. You know, I
- 48:34wouldn't say for everybody, but for me, they get the little pass where
- 48:37they can jawn on me and I can jone on them, like, you
- 48:39know, because we all know it's just fun and games. But then when
- 48:43it's like you don't know if it's fun and games with everybody, some people
- 48:45there's a darker meaning behind what they're saying, you know, and even the
- 48:50people connected to them sometimes because like you know, growing up, I knew,
- 48:53you know, certain white boys from school that they was cool and they
- 48:58hung out with the black dudes. Dudes, but you know, they wouldn't
- 49:01bring him home or anything because they dad was racist or they mom was racist
- 49:06or something, you know what I mean. It'd be crazy stuff like that,
- 49:09and that that gotta be a crazy thing to navigate too, like you
- 49:14being a kid of a racist, like you know what I'm saying, Like
- 49:17it's kind of like people, if people find out your parents are racist,
- 49:21they're just gonna label you racists like you gotta you got to prove yourself every
- 49:23day probably like that you're not racist, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 49:28And it's crazy, man. It's just like you said, Quincy,
- 49:30It's just a challenge that's there and people get tired of hearing about it,
- 49:37but it's always there. It's like, what the fuck you want me to
- 49:39do? What's happening? You know? M I and share at a quick
- 49:45person story like I have a friend who's white and but I grew up with
- 49:50him, like he brought me into his Family's family raised me. Uh live
- 49:53a big part of my childhood, so I know there's no racism there.
- 49:58But like we were like four or five years ago, he just assumed that
- 50:02I'm at the Puerto Rican festival. There's no way that you assume on Puerto
- 50:08Rican. He knows of my Puerto Rican. I was like, how you
- 50:12just go super? I go to every like Spanish festival in town. You
- 50:15think I just go to every single one, not even Puerto Rican. My
- 50:19dog hits you with the Rice is Rice Joe bro for real? No.
- 50:24But then I have my boy Jared, who's black, who I did my
- 50:27podcast with last time. He thought I was Puerto Rican our whole lot.
- 50:30I've known that motherfucker since high school. He went on Instagram some Peruvian food.
- 50:37I told me what it is. He's like, how you know?
- 50:39I said, So, it's like I gotta give him the same thing,
- 50:45Like, I know, it's not It's just I will tell you, Yeah,
- 50:52you know, that's my motorcycle license right as a new a Rican dude
- 50:55teaching me how to ride a motorcycle. At the very end, he asked
- 50:58me what he telt you from the Bronx, I said, perovnigos, it
- 51:02could have saw you. Puerto Rican I was like, I, I guess,
- 51:07and it's right there on Borderwalk Bowl. I was like, I grew
- 51:08up in this five mile radius for the last thirty years of my life,
- 51:13so that's probably why. Yeah. I will tell you this though, Bro.
- 51:15Before I moved to and this is just ignorance. Before I moved to
- 51:19Orlando, Bro, I didn't know any people of Spanish culture except Mexicans.
- 51:24Brou Like that was it? Like, because where I lived in Georgia,
- 51:30it was Asian, black, Mexican, that's it. So when I moved
- 51:35to Orlando and I met Puerto Rican's, Cuba's, Dominicans, you know,
- 51:38just every all these different cultures. Yeah, I didn't I have to wrap
- 51:44my head around it because I didn't even know that that was like I'm thirteen.
- 51:47I didn't even know that these people were alive, you know what I'm
- 51:51saying. Life. Yeah, when I was little, I was in Texas,
- 51:55so it was kind of like that too, Like it was like black
- 51:59people Mexicans that I kind of was around in Texas. And then when I
- 52:02moved over here, like I didn't even know what a Dominican was Bro,
- 52:06like, I don't. I'm pretty sure I never saw one in Texas at
- 52:09the time, you know what I'm saying, when I lived out there,
- 52:12So when I came out here, like Yo, it's funny because I used
- 52:15to call Edgar Bogatar like that was my nickname for him, brother, and
- 52:19he's like, Beach. I'm not even I'm gonna say that's That's just how
- 52:25ignorant I was. I just used to call accent and he's like, I'm
- 52:31not from Colombia. So funny, but that's what I'm saying. You learn
- 52:42how to sell out like in Wentworth language, but Dominican accent. Dog.
- 52:46That was hilarious, Yo. Whenever Yo, Edgar is the only person that
- 52:51could call me a little bit, and I just giggle when he says it
- 52:53because it sounds so funny. Bro, Like anybody else, I'd be like
- 52:58a hill out bro. Dog the way he says it is just so funny.
- 53:02Dog. He just got that little accent, and I just be cracking
- 53:06up every time. Bro. I love those off the boat accents and end
- 53:10yeah yeah, oh my god. Yeah. But I said, there's a
- 53:16lot there's a delineation between you're not racist, You're just dumb. Yeah,
- 53:22yeah, you just you just don't know, you're not aware. And then
- 53:27there's just like nah, you know you just Chooseyboddy watching ship. Yeah,
- 53:31and kind of like to circle it back around it to kind of get wrapping
- 53:36up. It's basically what you said at the beginning, Joe, like,
- 53:38if you're ignorant to it, it's kind of like no harm, no foul,
- 53:42like you said, I mean, if you don't know, but you
- 53:44don't have a bad intention about it, then it just is what it is.
- 53:47You just need to be informed or you just need to be made aware
- 53:51of it. But you know, if there's no intention, there ain't no
- 53:54big deal. You know, just at the end of the day. That's
- 53:59what it always is. Like it's a vibe. Like if you got a
- 54:00good vibe and you're not threatening or giving that kind of tone, like that
- 54:07energy, it's like kind of like all I was saying with the Aaron Rodgers
- 54:09and Joe Rogan podcasts, like you can listen to it because they're just talking
- 54:13like they're giving their opinions, they're talking about what they believe in, you
- 54:15know, the things that they feel like it's going on, but it's not
- 54:19like they doing any harm by doing it. You know, I can listen
- 54:22to it and see what they think and take away tidbits and a few white
- 54:27dudes like that Pac McAfee, that's him for me. I feel like he's
- 54:31so neutral and he's so consistent in his views that anytime he gets into anything
- 54:37color related, he can speak on it because you know, it's not coming
- 54:39from like a deep rooted hate towards something. He's just talking about a topic.
- 54:45That's how I feel about Andrew Santino. He kind of has this tone
- 54:50to him, and then the way he talks, you can tell nothing just
- 54:52Matt Agent jokes on that show with Bobby that I tell you that that might
- 54:55be the only thing that pushes me away from that. My boy shout to
- 55:00Rhino and he's he's a he's a watcher. He corrects me when I put
- 55:04rs and random sentences. But he's a huge, huge fan of their whole
- 55:09screw and and and all them dudes, so he says yes, but he
- 55:16sends me clips and they'll be mad, like Asian jokes on Bobby And maybe
- 55:22that's part of the thing. But because I don't watch it enough, you
- 55:25know that, Yeah, because it's very prominent in those in those podcasts,
- 55:30they it's not as prominent as in the videos. Like the videos definitely grasp
- 55:37what goes viral. Yeah, yeah, it always goes viral. They do
- 55:39have it, but it's very like they just toss it and they don't they
- 55:45don't know how do you say dwell on it? You know what I mean.
- 55:47It's not like they're just throwing out Asian jokes. I've just heard,
- 55:50like I've seen more than ten clips of ten different episodes where it's just like
- 55:53random Asian jokes against Bobby. Yeah, it's just weird, but but it's
- 55:58funny. But to me it's overwhelming. If I've never seen that show,
- 56:01it's not going to draw me to want to see that show. And that
- 56:04that's another problem with viral clips. You gotta be careful with what you let
- 56:07go viral. And that kind of even speaks to like a shout out to
- 56:10Ronnie. Ronnie was like the only person around me that was Asian that I
- 56:15actually like got a glimpse into the culture vibe with him, and like he
- 56:20was very He's a very joky guy. So when I started listening to the
- 56:24bi and actually he was a big fan of the Bobby Lee thing. And
- 56:28I think it was one of the reasons that made me say, oh,
- 56:30let me check it out, because I knew he liked it too. And
- 56:32you know, I'm maybe I'm more comfortable hearing them jokes because of Ronnie.
- 56:37You know what I'm saying. Yeah, well, yeah, man, as
- 56:43we wind down, about to hit an hour, it's a long one.
- 56:45A yo oh like the Drake viral video, Paul yo you wow, I
- 56:52heard about that dog Yo heard about it, yet have only heard about it.
- 56:59You know how I heard about anybody? You know how I heard about
- 57:01it. John Cena posted a meme. You know, he posted these like
- 57:08no context posts. Yeah, he's mad of Jake the Snake Roberts with Drake's
- 57:15face. Yeah, people don't sharing it. I'm like, what the fuck?
- 57:23Yeah, my gosh, bro, I got a group chat where he
- 57:28was talking about it. I was like, y'all need to stop, you
- 57:30gotta hill, just stop, relax. I just want to hear about it.
- 57:36If the Lincoln said I'm going off yo facts wife, he came to
- 57:39me. My god, I was like, let even ask my wife about
- 57:44it. I wanted to say, hey, you heard about that Drake stuff.
- 57:50I was like, I not even want to know she heard just lean
- 57:53on the on the doorway to the bedroom and you're like, so, so
- 57:59what about Drake's cause I, oh, ship, how about that Canadian baking?
- 58:07Eh? Y'all retarded, Bro, don't catch me watch I don't like
- 58:15it's music that much like some catch me watching this lookey when I when I
- 58:23heard about it, I'm like, damn, I wonder how much of a
- 58:25super fan Joey is yea hemn you know, I go lie Joe. I
- 58:35thought she's gonna be the one to drop in the chat dog habitat Drake and
- 58:40my web browser. Since then, I'm typing drinking any of my search bars.
- 58:49No, wait, as long as you don't open your Twitter at all,
- 58:52Like that's why I deleted a Twitter Dog. Yeah, I'm I would
- 58:57open it and be like, bro, how is this even coming across my
- 59:00desk right now? Like that's what reds is. It's waited at. But
- 59:06wait, wait, wait, because we're gonna wrap this up because we can't
- 59:07get too deep into his pause. Did y'all hear or did y'all see what
- 59:14this bad posted on his story? Dog this bad drake after it went viral,
- 59:19dog and he's put on his story. I wasn't hiding my meat from
- 59:22the world. I was hid in the world from my meat, Yo,
- 59:30stay butter. Not not not not not not apt, Not to act not
- 1:02:10after act, not to act not day after act,
