- 0:33I'm so drunk. Welcome back to my hamster with
- 0:42a blunt penknife the Doctor Who commentary podcast Fraser.
- 0:47Hello Joe. Hello.
- 0:49Hello. Hello.
- 0:50Um, I had a question for you. I'll need to throw at you
- 0:54immediately. I'm gonna phone call.
- 0:57I got a phone call. Hello!
- 1:02Oh yes. Okay, bye.
- 1:09It's about my assistant. Simon hot.
- 1:12Well, that's high. Someone threatening to kill him.
- 1:14If I don't stop podcasting, I'll for goodness sakes.
- 1:17Did you hear that? I have Simon Hearts unless you
- 1:25hand over the ambassador of I'm going to kill him.
- 1:29Don't carry on record okay you got me.
- 1:34You got me? My question is this we have
- 1:37talked about the /. We era in its early stages and
- 1:41we thought about the Pertwee era and its last stages and how it
- 1:44transitions from one thing to another.
- 1:47Yes, my question for you is, this is, do you think that the
- 1:52Brigadier. Is that his most fuckable in
- 1:55season seven? Yes, that's what.
- 2:00I'll try expected to give you surprise me.
- 2:05No. Do you think he is characterized
- 2:09by his best in the city? Yeah, I think we know we've
- 2:13talked about the Reagan of the doctor in regards to the
- 2:17Brigadier a bit and I think it's exactly the same for the
- 2:21Brigadier make a seal. We don't be sore when we have
- 2:23gotten ugly scene, where he is playing The Peacemaker in for
- 2:29the future. Episode would do get that one
- 2:31where you wants to see a bite of the doctor and the shake hands
- 2:34and it's lovely. We've got, you know, scene with
- 2:37them what he had the scene with them in the warehouse.
- 2:39You're getting well stuck in with a faton the end we'll have
- 2:42another big moment from a big action moment from after that
- 2:47you just becomes, you know the butt of the joke, you know.
- 2:50He becomes the It goes away from being this really capable
- 2:56leader. You know, the it's the sort of
- 3:02guy that will have in web of fear who's, you know, cut up
- 3:06about the loss of his men. Another reason why you used to
- 3:09be a problem, he's you know, these men mean.
- 3:14Think it's something that one that makes them like a really
- 3:16good leader. And then, you know, in season
- 3:19eight years becoming the butt of the joke and You know, you're
- 3:22having that sort of thing why we're spending, you know, you
- 3:26have been watching. You can scold me.
- 3:29Yeah. And sort of endings of you
- 3:32expect him to be because he is smart, capable it Seasons.
- 3:37It will by the time you get to the green death.
- 3:39He acts as a lie where he goes. Well I'm not such a dunderhead
- 3:42as you all think. I've actually done something
- 3:44small in this story. What you've gone through sort of
- 3:48like time monster and you've gone through the three doctors
- 3:52As well as I looked at chroma. Yeah.
- 3:56You know so you then have to go back to like the green death
- 4:00where we is, you get that sense of family with them yet.
- 4:05I sense that even though, you know it might not be You might
- 4:12be the butt of the joke, you know.
- 4:13They're all happy to sit with them and have dinner and then
- 4:15you get planet of the spiders, where he's the hubby to go.
- 4:19And, you know, the doctor goes to a show with them and you have
- 4:23invasion of the dinosaurs where he's back to be in that sort of
- 4:25military commander, you know, the man in charge sort of thing.
- 4:30So he starts off really well and he finishes we drill, but in the
- 4:33Middle East really saggy. Because unfortunately, I don't
- 4:36think he's made too much the butt of the joke that baton
- 4:39their sin episode 1. We're the guys got the dumb
- 4:44point that even you think it's candy intensity in his
- 4:46performance in Inferno when he's playing the Brigade leader and
- 4:50he's desperate. He's like he's given a chance to
- 4:53really properly act. Oh yeah, yes.
- 4:56I think I think we're kind of riding the chemistry.
- 4:59The actors towards again and his great chemistry and it's funny
- 5:04and it's it's really enjoyable and it's comfortable but it is
- 5:08different. Yeah, absolutely.
- 5:10And I think You know, you've said before having your that
- 5:14Nick Gordon is a really good comic actor and you know, and
- 5:18he's you kind of players that funniness of, you know, no, I'm
- 5:22being a funny character without knowing that, he's a funny
- 5:24character. Yeah, it's very good straight
- 5:26man in that respect so he does pull it off.
- 5:28Well, you know, it's just but you're like yeah he's really
- 5:31funny when he's intense. Remember the daily?
- 5:34What you know, that's hilarious. Well, I'll tell you what, should
- 5:39we see him in action? Oh God, yes, Let's do it bombs
- 5:43away. Hey male 5, 4, 3, 2 1 off we go.
- 5:52Yeah. What the hell is that?
- 5:53We are and we're going to get a close-up on this episode of an
- 5:55affair for you. I don't know if you have seen
- 5:57one Alyssa's yet. You know that's usually that's
- 5:59the form for Doctor Who. Yeah.
- 6:02Yeah. Is this the episode introduces
- 6:05Benton no think Benton. If I'm right was introduced in
- 6:09The Invasion, there's a character but he doesn't come in
- 6:12till episode 5. I'll show you how to get it back
- 6:15on the world. We got handheld camera, work
- 6:17here, you know and dramatic zooms.
- 6:21There's a big zoom out from the water when it's like gushing and
- 6:24everything. Amazing.
- 6:31There we go. We're going over.
- 6:34Yeah. But even though this is like
- 6:35very polished location work, and you wouldn't really have
- 6:37anything like this in the Avengers or anything like that,
- 6:39which you that's all various cartoon violence.
- 6:42If you were in the commentary, the have the Derek, whatever,
- 6:47and everyone for that cliff and he says, oh yeah, it was scouted
- 6:51the location. And we're took went out to with
- 6:55them, you know, Michael Ferguson and by letting everyone and and
- 7:00You know, beside this is where it's going to be shot.
- 7:01What can you do with this in Wright's comments as all well
- 7:04box to make this? And the turnaround in areas just
- 7:06hanging by one? beautiful man back, then
- 7:18honestly, But like this fellow playing Reagan you know, but
- 7:22it's a trench coat. Now he could have been more
- 7:24coal. This man.
- 7:24I'm sorry. It's just that sophistication
- 7:28about them, isn't it? You know, he could, you know,
- 7:30you've said he could be like Bond a bond villain but you
- 7:32could be, you know, he straight out the Sweeney again.
- 7:36Yeah. One of those Heavies.
- 7:38Yeah, this is great. The relationship between Neil is
- 7:41and Lennox. His really great because she
- 7:44absolutely condemns him. Yeah.
- 7:46And then she uses him. Escape doesn't Absolutely, you
- 7:50know, she goes straight in, say she goes straight into work and
- 7:53on him as her way out and that's enough, and then she guilted him
- 7:57into getting out. Yeah.
- 7:59She's thy her characterization that I think is really
- 8:02fantastic. Yeah, she's not taking this
- 8:04lying down. She is well, okay, I'll help you
- 8:07because otherwise, you're going to chop as in with the
- 8:11ambassador's. But here we go.
- 8:13The doctor is not at all convinced that anyone can buy a
- 8:16foreign newspaper, General. Even that It's quite a moment of
- 8:21death is it? They're tryna that he's trying
- 8:23to convince them that it's a foreign power?
- 8:26Thats stolen the ambassador's because this this is where this
- 8:30is kind of like setting the wheels in motion for his
- 8:33motivation. Isn't it?
- 8:34That God's it's fun Powers. You know it's it's fun powers
- 8:38that are It's not sort of like paranoia behind them, isn't it?
- 8:42Did you hear that foreign powers with amazing resources and a
- 8:47comb? The bricks just like three guys
- 8:52have it. One of the things that doesn't
- 8:54know is about this, is that how little solution goes on?
- 8:58It's one of the reasons I love Benton will see Ben comes our
- 9:00way. Yeah, five.
- 9:01And salute, the council total amount of do it in a properly.
- 9:05Obviously, you know, the brick being a Brigadeiro and, you
- 9:08know, generals was walking with me, she'll be on his feet in
- 9:11saluton but nope, he's just, it's either lakhs on the heart
- 9:15but auction of it speaks to how, you know, much the brigadier's
- 9:18got a handle on coming and Noah's fine.
- 9:20Well, He's just a fool. Well, doctor how is heart of
- 9:24hearts have got to tell you? They're still up in orbit.
- 9:28Yeah, so we'll have realized know that those are strong.
- 9:31Words aren't asking if those are the ambassador's the aliens.
- 9:34Oh my God, I can't wait for the scenes.
- 9:36Yeah. Where they start going out and
- 9:38location heading towards the camera with the sunlight behind
- 9:41them. Oh amazing that's coming up.
- 9:43I think this is this episode but how is it this one?
- 9:46Okay yeah really scary. Don't be playing in the snow.
- 9:52Yeah, he got it, he was learning his craft and sees a death
- 9:57without ice Warrior coming down the hill.
- 10:00But here, he gets it spot-on but he does it again in him across.
- 10:05It was a box-office you have that the best though.
- 10:08Oh yeah. Well, if that's enough to be
- 10:12expressed as well, because if you hear that I like there's a
- 10:15lot of just hanging about in rooms and lots of talking with
- 10:19this try children's patients. It probably would.
- 10:24I think obviously the action, you know, the kids going to be
- 10:27in there for the action and you're gonna be in four scenes,
- 10:29where put we use as a pen, as a gun pulled up there, because I
- 10:35think something like this about them yet, that playfulness of
- 10:38I'm gonna just walk into Woman, I'll just sneak a bun and stick
- 10:41a pen, and he's back and pretended to go and just to get
- 10:45a rise out of them, you've never liked their the color, and the
- 10:48trip Enos and the pace of Klaus waxhaws.
- 10:51I think kids would be all over that.
- 10:53Typically after this is going to be a bit more of a struggle for
- 10:56kids. But You know, there's still
- 11:01enough in here for kids to absolutely love.
- 11:03I mean, you know, I said that scene of prostitutes and I mix
- 11:06up the stairs really chilled me and really, you know, that was
- 11:10like a really scary moment for me.
- 11:12Your kids are going to be scared by that kids are going to love
- 11:15that Ambassador walking through with the Sun at the back.
- 11:19It's a scene that I've, I tricked you with my heart.
- 11:29Is he Out. Huh, Harold sighs head please?
- 11:35Well, we get all Tales of you from another question sided, ask
- 11:40which I think was probably touched on and a little bit was
- 11:43there Pertwee and Liz. What do you think about their
- 11:45relationship? Really interesting?
- 11:49Really. Really it was I think his most
- 11:51successful relationship is with Casey Manning.
- 11:53Yes. And that's just it's primarily
- 11:56on their chemistry. Yeah I think he's Relationship
- 12:00with Elizabeth sladen is sorely underrated.
- 12:04And there are some great moments in series 11, but I think this
- 12:08might be the most this is 2 equals.
- 12:10So this is probably the most, this is husband and wife, you
- 12:12know, and it's you know that's in there where these ladies had
- 12:17the threat of you don't stop trying to decode the message and
- 12:21build the machine. You know, we're going to kill
- 12:22this and he's just a moment, whatever it is it speaks to what
- 12:28kind of Respectful is in a bit of trust and Liz as well in
- 12:33that, you know what, I'm not gonna do that because you know,
- 12:35she's more than capable of looking after herself and she's
- 12:39straight out the door and she like, right that's enough.
- 12:41Yeah, Baxter and I'll try the door.
- 12:43Obviously it's locked but people but I couldn't get the key off
- 12:46of Lennox. Play him later.
- 12:51So, how did he end up in their employ was basically Reagan.
- 12:55Just friending always, it's a genuine scientific curiosity.
- 13:02I think it's money. It's about us.
- 13:04I think it's he says, I haven't. He was a discredited scientist.
- 13:08Says here. You're a respected scientist
- 13:09once grossly underpaid and that's what I love about.
- 13:14You know, it's it's very very tense dicks but Bob Holmes, does
- 13:19it a lot, you know, just Not two lanes, which give you massive
- 13:23bits of background, you know, Bob Holmes will drop in.
- 13:30So many just little details you know, like time Warriors are
- 13:34classic example, where the doctors goes are.
- 13:36So I see you're miserable war with the returns are spread of
- 13:38this and that's it into just gives you it with three or four
- 13:43lines just massive amounts of background so we get everything
- 13:45we need to know about Lennox, you know, grossly underpaid.
- 13:49He's just doing this for the money.
- 13:51This is she respected scientist one suddenly you know discredit
- 13:56the fallen on Hard Times needs to make a living Stewie's ended
- 13:59up In. in with, with Regan and in the rest of his This is
- 14:06another really tense moment and when he comes out, he plays the
- 14:09Panic really well, I don't know. It's in a minute.
- 14:12Sorry, when Oh that's right because they're pretending that
- 14:18she's locked. Yes he's not.
- 14:21So that shows he'll come back and then she'll costume and then
- 14:24get away. So the idea being that she's
- 14:26locked him in there and stole his key and run off.
- 14:29So he's sort of blameless but the dogs are there you for
- 14:34instance, Italian it is just like he's got that intensity and
- 14:41don't apart because he was a comic actor that we use known
- 14:44for comedy and he's really going all out to be And I think that's
- 14:48possibly some of the reason why is quite likeable in these first
- 14:52couple series is that it does lay on the he wanted to play the
- 14:56trumpet. Wanted a dramatic role.
- 14:59He goes into it a bit too much eases up a lot in these inane.
- 15:03I think you look at like the see Devils where he's having a sword
- 15:08fights and that scene where we steals your sandwiches is just
- 15:12hilarious and he you Minds that Fallen to Earth, so we can still
- 15:16do this. Ami and we've seen as you have
- 15:17with them. The doddery old man in the road.
- 15:20You know, you can still have that you still got those.
- 15:22Those comedy chops about them but again, it's the balance in
- 15:25this one which I really like he's got that balance between
- 15:29comedy intensity and drama and look at this scene here.
- 15:32He's so he's negotiating with somebody he knows is in League
- 15:36with the people. He's against.
- 15:37Yeah. He's basically saying look
- 15:40they're probably going to kill you.
- 15:42Yeah. Will you know, will negotiate?
- 15:45If I open? God.
- 15:46We got very James Bond bit when he dies.
- 15:47Does he remember that suitcase? It relieves the blows up in his
- 15:50face although this bit now I don't think this fits very clean
- 15:55your closet because he's clearly here on the base and Liz has
- 15:58escaped and then a minute, Liz, run straight into him in a card.
- 16:02And she was like, hey, yeah, And he's accents gone.
- 16:07He's like good in the sure with no hint of the French accent
- 16:11whatsoever, but never mind. It's of all the calls that could
- 16:18stop. I understand accents tend to
- 16:20slip on location, you know, opposite and again that you know
- 16:24what, we're in that realm of padding of, you know, escape and
- 16:28recapture, but you're not, you don't gonna lose it, you don't
- 16:31want to lose it, you don't want. You know, yet we're in this now
- 16:36is like hearts. It's a, how long we knew he was
- 16:38a bottom. But now he's also a button for
- 16:40the barge, the new buttons and I say, I love the fact that Reagan
- 16:46is very cold and threatening with her and very Charming as
- 16:51well. That's hard.
- 16:52That's a hard mix to pull off, you know?
- 16:54Yes, he's he's the consummate villain in this but
- 16:59interestingly, we've got to a point now where talion cannot
- 17:04Complicate the plot anymore that that's what he's been used
- 17:07through up until this point. So they've got a bump him off.
- 17:10There's nothing else you can really do with him now.
- 17:12No, it's yeah. He's done.
- 17:15Don't he served his purpose? That's Sorry mate.
- 17:20You was a doctor who character foreign through.
- 17:23Yeah, we love didn't exist before the story or after it.
- 17:28You were big man with a good beard but under the rules for
- 17:31you terrible business. That's a really fight looking
- 17:34beard. He looks like a garden gnome.
- 17:39I mean, first look at your bed and my bed.
- 17:41Yeah, those are be. It's, you know, like, well, look
- 17:45at your bed. You know what?
- 17:47I can't remember exactly how old I was, but I was way longer than
- 17:53I should be. When I found out that if
- 17:54Courtney Warrior fig Tasha. Yeah, I didn't know.
- 17:58I thought I hear in retrospect. You can see it slip,
- 18:02occasionally. Yeah, I think it's up there with
- 18:04Nicola Bryant American accent. I'll be honest.
- 18:06It's when I saw production pictures of him, without a tan,
- 18:11looks weird them shave. His tire shop for modern dead,
- 18:15thought Canada. Turn the Brigadier, just sitting
- 18:18around having tape. Talking about the problems.
- 18:20Yeah. It's yeah, it's just, it's such
- 18:25a lovely relationship. And that's the question you
- 18:27should be asking sigh relationship with the doctor in
- 18:29the brig. Not when there's, it's just
- 18:34works so well. And How would you feel if the
- 18:39doctors and Liz are husband and wife?
- 18:41What are, what are the doctor? And the brick here?
- 18:45Well, obviously there Sherlock, Holmes and dr.
- 18:48Watson, a Halloween party. Oh my God, they actually are.
- 18:55Yeah, well, Terrace dick says it over and over again.
- 18:59Every convention ever went to and DVD documentary, and we
- 19:04missed that, you missed a trick that you should install and that
- 19:07your uterus. Well, you know, Terrance, thank
- 19:12you for recognizing my wonderful observation traitor.
- 19:18But they really aren't made that that yes or 10 video, that sort
- 19:21of, like, blue months, for want of a better word that isn't
- 19:24horrible like that. It's like, yeah, well, they was,
- 19:28they know, they won't. But they will, they will foil
- 19:31evil schemes together. Yeah, this is this episode is
- 19:39slowing right down to have proper dialogue scenes between
- 19:42characters. So there's a little less action
- 19:44in this. Yeah, but I like all this stuff
- 19:46as well. Here we go.
- 19:50Here's your usual. James Bond explosion, explosives
- 19:54case? Yes.
- 19:55Oh, there's this burden. The doctor.
- 20:00I've got a dog scratching to be in sunscreen nothing happened.
- 20:03Okay. Don't worry.
- 20:06You know, I've got enough solo commentaries to handle this
- 20:09myself. Honestly, rakers.
- 20:14We're in leather gloves. I can't tell you.
- 20:18The thoughts are going through my head right now.
- 20:19Phrases, nowhere near the mic. So I have been no danger of a
- 20:24stop. It all the Bombshells that we've
- 20:27had as well. I've been incredible.
- 20:29Hi Frasier, everything he said about, as well as like I said.
- 20:39Nothing deserving of a stop it in your absence.
- 20:43I'll give you a name is stop it. Yes to explode into kissed again
- 20:50of Brilliance. It's oh how cold and calculating
- 20:53is Regan or just like I'll give you the bomb but obviously the
- 20:56bombs for you it's not really fair but I think terrorist
- 21:00attacks is plotting is so good that you know, this is how to
- 21:05Italian is going to be dispatch. Obviously not the doctor.
- 21:09So you're just waiting for that my teammates, the the bad move.
- 21:14He's the master Potter is mr. Burns?
- 21:18My damn man, I spent more time in space than any astronaut on
- 21:21your staff. Oh yeah, they even go through
- 21:25the motions of decontamination and like he owns go through all
- 21:30the tests doesn't need to go into space exactly.
- 21:33Again, if this was like another era you would literally just be
- 21:38Okay, we need to go back over into space, right?
- 21:41Jump in that rocket. Then, you know, two minutes
- 21:43later, he's going to be up there and he put them this.
- 21:45They've actually they've got to work out the logistics of it.
- 21:48They've got to get a capsule of gotta get the rocket that
- 21:51haven't got the fuel so they haven't mixed the it's just so
- 21:55it really speaks to me as someone with like you know, bit
- 21:58of a science background and that's what I studied at
- 22:00University. Never used me degree in anger
- 22:03but you know someone that grew up wanting to be a scientist.
- 22:06This really speaks to me as You know them getting it right.
- 22:10Getting the the tape the Sci-Fi that I want to watch you know
- 22:15we're like not like when Bond goes into space in Moonraker and
- 22:19he's in that simulator that goes round and round and round round
- 22:22super fast. You know and shooting lasers at
- 22:24each other in space opening. Jumping course was incredible.
- 22:28You know that sequence in Venice with the hover boats, honestly,
- 22:34Unforgettable. Every Bond film needs is a
- 22:37pigeon doing a double take Big Chomp.
- 22:39Oh it looks very relaxed are, there's no cleaning out of that
- 22:41counter. Obviously after that pose a few
- 22:45times, you know, he's wondering where Michael Ferguson's got his
- 22:50car - oh, that's what it's Gotta Be.
- 22:51It's gotta be a little bit away. So that's the case.
- 22:54Don't explode in his face as well.
- 22:57You look, the even taking the time to show how they're going
- 23:00to communicate with the aliens. Again, this is the new places
- 23:05doing this. Now Liz is our in, with this,
- 23:10you know, without rulers. Yeah, Mega thing as 8 because
- 23:15they bring Liz into this scenario, her intelligence
- 23:19creates the device, which means Reagan can now use them to carry
- 23:24the plot onwards. Oh, that's right.
- 23:27Oh my God. I'm so stupid.
- 23:30And they want the aliens to do. Terror attacks.
- 23:35So there's a massive outcry because xenophobic General
- 23:40Carrington. Once them to fire off missiles
- 23:44into space. Awakening destroy the aliens
- 23:46because it was very clever, isn't it?
- 23:49Very clever? But at the same time, you've got
- 23:51Regan, who's like, well actually That's your plan may have but I
- 23:55want to use these guys for my own benefit.
- 23:58What's he going to do? Rob banks or something?
- 24:00Exactly, there's nothing I startled.
- 24:03You go with. You gonna do.
- 24:03Rob Fort Knox is it? Well why can't?
- 24:05I is a bond villain? They do Rob Fort Knox.
- 24:12Why is forgotten now I forgotten that the whole point of this was
- 24:15to show the ambassador's murdering and behaving you know
- 24:21is if they're invading and that's super clever because
- 24:25that's how Doctor Who monsters usually behave.
- 24:29What we were talking about the Pearson, we have not actually
- 24:32seen an ambassador. Of death yet we've seen an
- 24:36ambassador but we have not seen the ambassador's actually do
- 24:39anything. Deadly.
- 24:40Other than, you know, the poor guys.
- 24:42They've locked in the back with and it will four episodes in.
- 24:45Yeah, this is very measured. As you know, by the time this is
- 24:51like the length of an average story.
- 24:53You don't need to work off with 2 episode 4 and we have not
- 24:56actually seen the Ambassador, do anything deadly and what haven't
- 25:02missed it. I haven't actually how on Earth
- 25:06because because there's been so much suspense around was in the
- 25:09rocket. What's in the space suits?
- 25:11You know they're driving they're still driving a tense drama out
- 25:16of what we're not seeing absolutely.
- 25:18But that whole worm you know that whole like 28 Days Later,
- 25:22Twist of it, ain't the zombies are scary.
- 25:25It's the people it's there they are me.
- 25:28Christopher eriksson's character.
- 25:29Yeah like that's a very sophisticated.
- 25:33Moral for Doctor Who we see McCall, good friend of the
- 25:40podcast. And her question was, this is
- 25:43one of two cultural misunderstanding stories
- 25:45together with Frontier in space. This one on Kent, contemporary
- 25:49Earth, seems darker and more realistic to me, which of the
- 25:52two. Do you think works best out
- 25:55this? Absolutely, for sure, although I
- 25:57think Frontier in space, I mean I've just covered that with
- 26:00Daniel night, I think It's Direction.
- 26:04Design performance, they're regulars.
- 26:07It has so much of worth. Yeah.
- 26:11I mean I don't want a yoke on anyone's yum to use a phrase but
- 26:15you don't want him to be. It doesn't work for me, your
- 26:18least favorite. It's maybe fear that of this era
- 26:21it just doesn't work. There's just too much.
- 26:23Wow. What more than the mutants.
- 26:27Oh you dirty little. Look it's not like the
- 26:40ambassador of the pulled up and drop the ambassador's off.
- 26:42It's like he's literally just walked in the drive and it's
- 26:45that sort of relentlessness that, you know, one stop a bit
- 26:49like the Terminator, you know, the two-minute a stalk and after
- 26:52you, you know, obviously, you probably should have let go of
- 26:55that, but they All history of shooting it with the sun behind
- 26:59it and the Sun is reflecting off the camera lens.
- 27:03So you so the they are Masters obscure, you'll cut into the to
- 27:06the pistol that's constantly firing and not working.
- 27:10And then you cut to the the soldiers face like shit, I'm
- 27:13going to die. Yeah, justjust great horror.
- 27:16That is Everyone. It's that horse or break.
- 27:26Did you see the subtitles? They went an hour.
- 27:31I've got the DVD and you've got brick box on this.
- 27:33I mean yeah yeah the picture is quite good on this one.
- 27:37This is all we know. You're going to get soft me
- 27:44gosh. You know, I think we're heading
- 27:45towards a Cliff, Hanger again, is this the Cliffhanger where
- 27:48the Ambassador heads towards the doctor with his arms out?
- 27:54So again, that's that's, that's a different kind of cliffhanger
- 27:57because it isn't with the doctor in danger, but we're one.
- 28:00Step ahead. He ain't got a clue.
- 28:04It's there in the brain of morbius claw, isn't it?
- 28:06- Sarah, you know, unfortunately is one of those sort of enough
- 28:11resolutions where It was nothing particularly clever about how
- 28:16they get out of the pebble. But, you know, that's not the
- 28:20point. That's not the point of a
- 28:21cliffhanger. Is it how we get out of it?
- 28:22It's all right. Well, I've had this question
- 28:25front of me a couple of times, you know, and I think the
- 28:27Cliffhangers job is to get you back the next week.
- 28:30So it's the moment that the episode ends and not where the
- 28:34new episode starts, absolutely, because that episode has a
- 28:37chance to end on a really great Point as well.
- 28:44But the doctors usually be smarter than this, isn't he?
- 28:46And also to come and see him. All right, well I'm gonna go
- 28:48then it's obviously a trap but I'm going to go anyway.
- 28:51Well it's not a trap because You're Quinton doesn't know.
- 28:55He's about to get zapped. All, that's right.
- 28:58Quinn is like this, the Charles Grover of this one, isn't he?
- 29:00He's the politician is up to no good.
- 29:04So he doesn't know he's gonna be out for you to know is that he
- 29:07doesn't know that, he's genuinely summon the doctor in
- 29:11English because there's a scene with Quinlan and Carrington
- 29:15ways. Like well should we not tell the
- 29:17doctor what's going on? Because he could be a great
- 29:20asset if we get him on our side sort of thing, and that's
- 29:25obviously why he's now getting Zapped.
- 29:28See that was a kind of bare stage as well.
- 29:31The safety behind the door. Yeah.
- 29:33So he goes to over by the door. The dog doesn't see when he
- 29:36comes in and then he goes to attack him.
- 29:38I'm not surprised stuff you know that and that's final shot of
- 29:42just the hand. About it, which the doctor and
- 29:46that's where your sting comes in again.
- 29:48You just yeah, I'd say sort of in terms of like action and pay
- 29:52that episode slowed down a lot. Like there was a lot of talking
- 29:55in that episode was but there was still you know, a lot of a
- 30:00lot of good on the always lives Escape, there was the bomb,
- 30:03there's the eventual attack of attack of the ambassador's, you
- 30:08know, while I'm out. Yeah, well, haven't heard, you
- 30:11know, big churches or No, smoke bombs.
- 30:15Being dropped from helicopters, but we're still getting you.
- 30:17No good. Good night David, my Scott joins
- 30:21the desire and we're still getting good, you know, bits of
- 30:27action, good things to to keep were going to.
- 30:31Well I just say like like it happens like characterization
- 30:34that's probably the strongest episode let yet.
- 30:36You got Liz and Lennox. You got the docs for in the brig
- 30:39you know, Karen Ting, show more deaths as it goes on Quinlan as
- 30:44well Regan you know if I think I think Tara sticks and Malcolm
- 30:50Oak. Both know that.
- 30:52Yeah, some point, you know, you can't have this can't be all
- 30:56expense but you just have to keep giving, you know.
- 31:01Yeah. Oh, stop me.
