- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus, powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Now here's your host. That's a chopee. Welcome into another
- 0:12Speaker 2: edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:13Speaker 1: The Seahawks back at Luminfield this week, taking on the
- 0:16Speaker 1: New Orleans Saints, coming up a huge victory over the
- 0:19Speaker 1: Pittsburgh Steelers. Bump, I'm really excited about this game. I
- 0:21Speaker 1: think the Seahawks are getting ready to reclaim home field advantage.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Loomenfield, I think it starts this week.
- 0:27Speaker 3: You gotta do what everyone else your division has done
- 0:29Speaker 3: so far to say, Saints, come on now, join the party.
- 0:31Speaker 3: But yeah, it's I'm excited to get you guys, get
- 0:33Speaker 3: these guys back home and get the the advantage back.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Be loud this weekend. I'm gonna go on a limit.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna say something again, Bump, and it's gonna be
- 0:42Speaker 1: a hot take, and I'm gonna have Lafe pull it
- 0:44Speaker 1: for when it comes true at the end of the year.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And if it doesn't, I'm gonna delete it. It never happened anyway.
- 0:48Speaker 2: What's on tap? What's on tap? New Orleans Saints.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Coming in OH into last place, in the NFC South
- 0:56Speaker 1: with losses to NFC West folks for the Seahawks the
- 0:59Speaker 1: Cardinals in the forty nine ers. But I want to
- 1:02Speaker 1: give a little shout out first season under first year
- 1:04Speaker 1: head coach Kellen Moore. Some people in the great state
- 1:06Speaker 1: of Washington know Kellen Moore as the Prosser tosser back
- 1:09Speaker 1: in the day through sixty six and sixty seven touchdowns
- 1:12Speaker 1: respectively as a junior and senior, setting career state records
- 1:15Speaker 1: for completions seven hundred and eighty seven and touchdown passes
- 1:18Speaker 1: with one hundred and seventy three. Was the Gateway State
- 1:20Speaker 1: Player of the Year in two thousand and six and
- 1:22Speaker 1: under the legendary coach Tom Moore, his father, who won
- 1:24Speaker 1: four state titles for the Prosser Mustangs. Kellen was in
- 1:28Speaker 1: high school when I was in high school, so I
- 1:30Speaker 1: just saw the stats because back.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Then we were looking at the paper all the time,
- 1:33Speaker 2: looking at the paper, and I'm like, this dude from
- 1:35Speaker 2: Prosser is unreal.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Obviously, he goes on to Boise State, had a little
- 1:39Speaker 1: cup of coffee in the National Football League before starting's
- 1:42Speaker 1: coaching career. Four years in Dallas offensive coordinator one year
- 1:45Speaker 1: with the Chargers, won a Super Bowl with the Eagles
- 1:47Speaker 1: as the OC. But yeah, man, he's had a tough
- 1:49Speaker 1: little start. But I want to throw out some love
- 1:51Speaker 1: to Kellen Moore just for everything he's done in the state.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah, local dude, man, and Washington is sneaking when they
- 1:56Speaker 3: put out these guys. Man, there's a lot of talent here,
- 1:58Speaker 3: So big ups to Kellen to see what he's doing
- 2:00Speaker 3: over there in New Orleans. It ain't all bad, but
- 2:02Speaker 3: it's going to be a journey. So what just keep
- 2:04Speaker 3: it relig Is not this weekend?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely not this weekend.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Speaking of the last game against for the Saints against
- 2:10Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers, the forty nineers were without brock
- 2:11Speaker 1: Party with a toe injury, and they inserted the former
- 2:15Speaker 1: first round or fifteenth overall pick Mac Jones, and Jones
- 2:17Speaker 1: actually bawled out, Bob. I'm thoroughly impressed with what I
- 2:20Speaker 1: saw from him. Twenty six to thirty nine, two hundred
- 2:22Speaker 1: seventy nine yards, three touchdowns looked a lot more like
- 2:25Speaker 1: that first round pick with the Patriots back in the day.
- 2:28Speaker 2: His three touchdowns were a career high.
- 2:30Speaker 1: He found Luke Ferrell, Christian McCaffrey, and Juwan Jennings for
- 2:33Speaker 1: forty two yard touchdown that gave the forty nine ers
- 2:35Speaker 1: are twenty six to fourteen million and fourth quarter. It
- 2:37Speaker 1: felt comfy, It felt good there, but that's when the
- 2:40Speaker 1: game really got interesting. Spencer Radler, Who're going to talk
- 2:42Speaker 1: about a lot today, but his team on a thirteen
- 2:44Speaker 1: play seventy one yard drive the end with three yard
- 2:46Speaker 1: touchdown to mister Veley, which made the score twenty six
- 2:49Speaker 1: to twenty one. The Saints would get a stop, get
- 2:51Speaker 1: the ball back four to thirty five.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Left, couldn't take advantage. They won three and out.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Forty nine Ers would go three and out in their
- 2:57Speaker 1: next possession and the Saints had one more opportunity once again,
- 3:00Speaker 1: couldn't capitalize the fourth and one, end up losing the
- 3:02Speaker 1: ball game.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a fun game to watch. I'm watching
- 3:06Speaker 3: Mac Jones, who his thing. Spencer Ratler, who is kind
- 3:09Speaker 3: of debunking what I used to think about him. Watching
- 3:12Speaker 3: QB one back in the day on Netflix wasn't the
- 3:14Speaker 3: greatest look, but you can see there's potential there. I
- 3:17Speaker 3: don't know if he's going to be a franchise type
- 3:19Speaker 3: of guy, but he's a guy who can handle it,
- 3:22Speaker 3: who can play some games. And Alva Kamara we all
- 3:24Speaker 3: know him, ninety nine yards on twenty one carries. Rashid
- 3:28Speaker 3: shahied jam I had to sound it out, sound it out,
- 3:32Speaker 3: Juwan Johnson. They have receiving touchdowns as well. McCaffrey had
- 3:35Speaker 3: one hundred and seven total yards one touchdowns. Jenny led
- 3:38Speaker 3: all receivers with eighty nine yards on five perceptions in
- 3:40Speaker 3: the touchdown and the Saints haven't been that far off. Man,
- 3:44Speaker 3: It's just you're playing against some pretty good football teams.
- 3:46Speaker 3: You barely lose against the forty nine ers, you barely
- 3:48Speaker 3: lost to the Arizona Cardinals.
- 3:50Speaker 2: There's some potential there. But you see there are a
- 3:52Speaker 2: work in progress.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no more victories in the NFL, but they're
- 3:55Speaker 1: playing close games.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And the crazy thing about the Saints, they haven't won
- 3:58Speaker 1: a game of any kind in December eighth of the
- 4:00Speaker 1: twenty twenty four season against the New York Giants. They
- 4:04Speaker 1: had six or eight loss in the regular season and
- 4:05Speaker 1: also went two and one in the preseason. But thinking
- 4:08Speaker 1: about the Saints, because Clint Kubiak was there and he
- 4:11Speaker 1: had those boys rolling for a little bit. They started
- 4:13Speaker 1: off two and oh, last year, remember they smacked the
- 4:15Speaker 1: Cowboys like beat him up. Everyone's looking at Okay, Derek
- 4:18Speaker 1: ar Kamura and then the wheels kind of fell off.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Tons of injuries. That's kind of what happened there. But
- 4:23Speaker 1: they obviously have some good players. When we look into
- 4:25Speaker 1: this head to head matchup, again, it's only two weeks
- 4:27Speaker 1: through the season, so this doesn't have the legs. It's
- 4:29Speaker 1: gonna have hi about four or five weeks, but look
- 4:31Speaker 1: at it anyway. Offensively, the Seahawks ranked nineteenth in total offense,
- 4:34Speaker 1: averaging three hundred and twelve yards, nineteenth in rushing offense,
- 4:38Speaker 1: allow or rushing for one hundred yards per game. Pass offense,
- 4:42Speaker 1: they are sixteenth with two hundred and twelve yards per
- 4:44Speaker 1: game and points per game twenty two points. That's tied
- 4:47Speaker 1: for sixteenth in the NFL.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah, the Saints are twentieth overall on offense, thirteenth when
- 4:51Speaker 3: it comes to running the rock, twenty second passing it,
- 4:53Speaker 3: and twenty six averaging seventeen excuse me, seventeen points per game.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And defensively, the Hawk at eighteenth overall doesn't feel like
- 5:01Speaker 3: they should be.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Eighteen feels a lot lower than that.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Eleventh when it comes to rushing the football, our teams
- 5:07Speaker 3: rushing against them allowing ninety five yards per game in
- 5:10Speaker 3: twenty first against the pass. They also have four interceptions,
- 5:14Speaker 3: which is tied for second in NFL.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Right now, yeah, I think that's a false number. It's true,
- 5:18Speaker 1: but it's not. They gave up a lot of yards
- 5:20Speaker 1: against the forty nine ers. They ran a ton of plays.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I think that's part of it. I think that number
- 5:24Speaker 1: is going to continue as the weeks go down and
- 5:25Speaker 1: go get smaller and smaller. On the flip side, for
- 5:27Speaker 1: the Saints, they are fourteenth in total defense, allowing three
- 5:30Speaker 1: hundred and ten yards per game, seventeenth in rush defense,
- 5:34Speaker 1: well thirteenth in pass defense, and then seventeenth in points
- 5:38Speaker 1: per game. So these guys are very even on paper.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I think we feel like, looking at both rosters, the
- 5:43Speaker 1: Seahawks have the clear advantage. But as you said, it's
- 5:45Speaker 1: the National Football League and we're going to get into
- 5:47Speaker 1: all the players on these teams and show you why
- 5:50Speaker 1: the Saints are actually better than they look on paper.
- 5:52Speaker 2: But before we do that, let's know the history.
- 5:54Speaker 1: No your history, but this is shocking to me looking
- 6:00Speaker 1: up what I'm about to tell you, it was very surprising.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So New Orleans leads the old time series over the
- 6:04Speaker 1: Seahawks ten to eight, which isn't crazy. They haven't played
- 6:06Speaker 1: that many times. They're ten and six in the regular season,
- 6:09Speaker 1: owing two in the playoffs. But the Saints have won
- 6:11Speaker 1: the last four games against the Seahawks. Yeah, surprising it,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you know. And then I started going back through the games, like, okay, yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I mean the Seahaws down and beat them since the
- 6:19Speaker 1: divisional playoffs in twenty thirteen. Last time these two teams
- 6:22Speaker 1: matched up was in twenty twenty two. The Seahawks dropped
- 6:24Speaker 1: a close one thirty nine thirty two at the Supernome, And.
- 6:28Speaker 2: That was a different time. Just doesn't feel like that
- 6:30Speaker 2: long ago.
- 6:30Speaker 1: But we're started telling the names that played in that game,
- 6:32Speaker 1: Andy Dalton, Taysom Hill, who's still there but Hurt, Rashad Penny,
- 6:35Speaker 1: Geno Smith, DK Tyler, all the guys of the past gone.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Feels like centuries ago.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But Gino that day did ball out sixteen to twenty five,
- 6:43Speaker 1: two hundred and sixty eight yards, three touchdowns, no picks.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Rookie ken Walker had eight carries for eighty eight yards
- 6:49Speaker 1: and a touchdown. Tyler Lockett had a great day, five receptions,
- 6:52Speaker 1: one hundred and four yards, two touchdowns, and I think
- 6:54Speaker 1: he caught the best pass of Gino Smith's career.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Oh remember that in the background zone coverage too high
- 7:00Speaker 3: safety looks dropped.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Right in the basket and that that was an unbelievable play.
- 7:04Speaker 1: The Seahawks took a thirty two to thirty one lead
- 7:06Speaker 1: after ken Walker in sixty nine yard touchdown with six
- 7:09Speaker 1: minutes off from the football game. Unfortunately, three plays later,
- 7:11Speaker 1: if your remember, Taysom Hill had himself a day that day,
- 7:14Speaker 1: ran it at sixty yards to the house. Seahawks would
- 7:17Speaker 1: get the ball back and stop have a chance to
- 7:19Speaker 1: get it back for the offensive one last time, but
- 7:21Speaker 1: they couldn't get off the field another run by them.
- 7:23Speaker 1: So Seahawks are obviously hoping to change this stat because
- 7:27Speaker 1: that is that's wild. Because when you think of the
- 7:29Speaker 1: Saints over the last you know, five six years, you
- 7:30Speaker 1: don't think elite team.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You don't.
- 7:34Speaker 3: But but the the memory I have of the Saints,
- 7:38Speaker 3: I remember the last time they played him at home.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I think this was the last time white uniforms on
- 7:43Speaker 3: and Kamara was just going off, like we could not
- 7:44Speaker 3: tackle this dude bouncing off. He must have had at
- 7:47Speaker 3: least three runs or catches run after the catch over
- 7:50Speaker 3: thirty five forty yards.
- 7:51Speaker 2: It was ridiculous. Yep.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I think it was raining that day too. I want
- 7:54Speaker 1: to say we either gave up a punt return touchdown
- 7:55Speaker 1: or got one.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Blocked or whatever.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But either way, yes, and come back Alvin Man. He
- 8:00Speaker 1: can still play.
- 8:01Speaker 2: He's a man.
- 8:02Speaker 1: He can still play. He is hard to tackle. But
- 8:04Speaker 1: let's flip it back over to what's going on in
- 8:05Speaker 1: the division. What's the word and the Seahawks or the
- 8:12Speaker 1: NFC West champs?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Again, what's the word in the West? On Hawk talk?
- 8:18Speaker 3: All right, here's the word, same as last week. There's
- 8:20Speaker 3: different numbers for the teams, all right. You got Niners
- 8:22Speaker 3: two and oh, Cardinals two and o, Rams two and o,
- 8:25Speaker 3: and the Seahawks are at the bottom of the division
- 8:26Speaker 3: at one in one.
- 8:27Speaker 2: But that is gonna change.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I guarantee that the NFC West has started this season
- 8:31Speaker 3: on fire with a seven to one record. The only
- 8:34Speaker 3: loss came within the division when the Seahawks lost to
- 8:36Speaker 3: the forty nine Ers. That combined divisional records is the
- 8:38Speaker 3: best in the NFL. We knew this division was going
- 8:41Speaker 3: to be wide open. It's starting off like teams are
- 8:44Speaker 3: trying to figure it out. But it is a long season,
- 8:46Speaker 3: all right. So last week the Panthers were at the Cardinals.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Let's talk about that game. The Cardinals have started this
- 8:51Speaker 3: season two and oh for the first time since twenty
- 8:53Speaker 3: twenty one. That was also the last time the Cardinals
- 8:56Speaker 3: made the playoffs. Now they are two and oh. But
- 8:58Speaker 3: it hasn't always been I'm creating this week was no different.
- 9:02Speaker 3: It started off good, though, as the Cardinals jumped out
- 9:04Speaker 3: to a twenty seven and three lead with nine to
- 9:06Speaker 3: twenty three and a third quarter before almost giving it
- 9:09Speaker 3: all a way. Bryce Young, who had a rock Stark,
- 9:12Speaker 3: caught fire in the second half. I'm rooting for Brice man.
- 9:15Speaker 3: I'm I want them, you know, the the under six footers.
- 9:18Speaker 3: You know, I got a soft spot for those guys.
- 9:20Speaker 3: You threw three touchdown passes and led an impressive comeback attempt.
- 9:24Speaker 3: The third touchdown, a one yard throw one hundred riff
- 9:26Speaker 3: Row cut the score to twenty seven to twenty two
- 9:28Speaker 3: with a minute fifty eight left in the game.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, when you're at twenty seven to three
- 9:32Speaker 1: in the NFL, you think that game's over right. Obviously
- 9:34Speaker 1: that's not the case. The Panthers greedy performance come back
- 9:37Speaker 1: Panthers were able to get an on side kick. That
- 9:39Speaker 1: does not happened in the NFL. N in this day
- 9:42Speaker 1: and age, doesn't happen. I mean, I was probably a
- 9:44Speaker 1: tough meeting for special teams for the Saints. I promise
- 9:47Speaker 1: you that anyway to get the on side kick and
- 9:48Speaker 1: they're back in business. Unfortunately, final drive Panthers filled with penalties.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Bryce Young was sacked and fourth down ending to come
- 9:54Speaker 1: back and the person who got the sack, he's in
- 9:58Speaker 1: the same age, Jim, I think is yourself. Yep, I'm
- 10:01Speaker 1: not too far off that.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Thank you for including yourself. They'll act like your boy
- 10:05Speaker 3: got you for like ten years or something like that.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Thirty nine year old Kalleius Campbell. Holy smokes, I don't
- 10:10Speaker 3: know how he's still doing it. Whatever routine you're on,
- 10:13Speaker 3: send it our way, because we would love to tap
- 10:14Speaker 3: into whatever you're doing.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Wild for real.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Kalais big ups and has one of the most unique
- 10:19Speaker 3: voices you'll ever hear. And your time walking this earth,
- 10:22Speaker 3: Kyler Murray finished the day seventeen of twenty five two
- 10:25Speaker 3: twenty yards, one touchdown at one interception. James Cardinal had
- 10:28Speaker 3: carn exc mc connor had a rushing touchdown. I've only
- 10:30Speaker 3: had thirty four yards on eleven carriers. They bought them
- 10:34Speaker 3: up a little bit, and Trey McBride picked up where
- 10:36Speaker 3: he left off last season. Six receptions for seventy eight yards.
- 10:40Speaker 3: One of the best in the game.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, Trey. He's he's definitely become an elite tight
- 10:44Speaker 2: end in this league. For the Panthers.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Brice Young thirty five to fifty five, three twenty eight,
- 10:48Speaker 1: three touchdowns, one interception. The Cardinals will host the Titans
- 10:51Speaker 1: on Sunday, another game in the division, The Rams at
- 10:55Speaker 1: the Titans. Rams had a big second half, scoring twenty points,
- 10:58Speaker 1: spoiling the home debut of former Coup Do you still
- 11:00Speaker 1: claim him?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:02Speaker 3: We got him there. Yeah, that's that got to were
- 11:04Speaker 3: Washington State. This should be our model, Washington State. We'll
- 11:06Speaker 3: get you there. That's that's what we would sell me.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Come on now.
- 11:10Speaker 1: The Rams twelve thirteen to ten at halftime, would score
- 11:14Speaker 1: on four of their next six drives, securing the thirty
- 11:16Speaker 1: three to nineteen victory. Matthew Stafford had a solid day
- 11:19Speaker 1: twenty three to thirty three, two ninety eight, two touchdowns,
- 11:22Speaker 1: one interception with Vonta Adams, that all receivers with one
- 11:25Speaker 1: hundred and six yards, six receptions and a touchdown with
- 11:28Speaker 1: his on hundred yard receiving game. Adam's side, Antonio Brown,
- 11:31Speaker 1: Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Jimmy Smith, just a couple of
- 11:33Speaker 1: guys that played for you know, eleven most such games
- 11:37Speaker 1: in NFL history with forty six forty six one hundred
- 11:40Speaker 1: yard games like god, while only Julio Jones with forty
- 11:43Speaker 1: seven has more than Adams since and starting his career
- 11:46Speaker 1: in twenty fourteen. Then you got Puginakua had eight receptions
- 11:48Speaker 1: for ninety one yards in a forty five yard rushing touchdown,
- 11:52Speaker 1: Kyen Williams sixty six yards on seventeen carries, and then
- 11:55Speaker 1: cam Ward Man.
- 11:56Speaker 3: He's playing pretty well, Bump. What do you see for him?
- 11:58Speaker 3: He's uh, you know, he's a rookie. He's learning, but
- 12:01Speaker 3: I like his trajectory. He was nineteen the thirty three,
- 12:04Speaker 3: one seventy five one touchdown, but was sacked five times.
- 12:06Speaker 3: He's the most sacked quarterback in the game right now.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I believe he has eleven on the year. A former
- 12:11Speaker 3: Seahawk receiver, Tyler Lockett had two receptions for nine yards
- 12:14Speaker 3: on three targets. Other former Seahawks Quandre Diggs had one tackle,
- 12:17Speaker 3: Draymond Jones had two tackles in one TfL and Cody
- 12:20Speaker 3: Barton man five tackles and an interception.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Cody Barton just won't go away. He won't. He'll be
- 12:26Speaker 2: loot laying for like five six more years at least.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I mean, whether it's in Denver. He I didn't know
- 12:31Speaker 1: when I looked at the box score. Might Yeah, these
- 12:34Speaker 1: are full of former Seahawks. It's usually Jacksonville on we
- 12:36Speaker 1: think about former Seahawks, but no, Tennessee had tons of
- 12:38Speaker 1: them in or Carolina Carolina too.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Of course, shout out Cody Barton for balling out Titans,
- 12:43Speaker 1: though struggling lost eight straight football games. Head coach Brian
- 12:46Speaker 1: Callahan is three and sixteen since taking the job. But look,
- 12:50Speaker 1: the Rams do have a tough challenge this weekend. They
- 12:52Speaker 1: are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles on the road, so
- 12:55Speaker 1: that's gonna be a tough one. But we will flip
- 12:57Speaker 1: our attention back to who we're playing this week. Man up, hey,
- 13:01Speaker 1: who you got, Who you got?
- 13:03Speaker 2: You know what time it is? Man up man up, brother,
- 13:05Speaker 2: man up man up on Hawk Talk.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But we'll start off with the quarterbacks. You mentioned Spencer
- 13:10Speaker 1: Rattler in the open. He's now in his second NFL season,
- 13:13Speaker 1: but the first as a clear cut number one.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Rattler had to battle rookie Tyler slow shuck shuck. Why
- 13:19Speaker 2: do you spell it like that? I don't know. That's
- 13:21Speaker 2: a that's a that's a. That's English for you. Man. No,
- 13:24Speaker 2: but that's that's on me. That's preparation. I have a
- 13:26Speaker 2: name that's not fanatically spelled.
- 13:27Speaker 3: That's fine, but English is dumb sometimes. How was that shuck?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah? No, you're right, makes no sense. It's brutal.
- 13:34Speaker 1: But anyway, they had a battle going throughout camp. Officially
- 13:36Speaker 1: won the job in the saints third and final preseason game,
- 13:39Speaker 1: so it was a legitimate competition. This wasn't one where
- 13:42Speaker 1: you kind of said it that way. But anyway, in
- 13:44Speaker 1: the preseason, Rattler had thirty of forty three two hundred
- 13:47Speaker 1: ninety five yards in a touchdown with an interception. Also
- 13:50Speaker 1: had forty one yards and seven carries. He started six
- 13:52Speaker 1: games last year, played in the second half another, replacing
- 13:55Speaker 1: Derek Carr, completed one thirty two twenty eight three hundred
- 13:58Speaker 1: and seventeen yards in four touchdowns, with five interceptions, injuries all
- 14:03Speaker 1: over the place, losing guys.
- 14:04Speaker 2: He didn't play a lot with chrys Olave. She cheed.
- 14:08Speaker 1: So when I look at Rattler, Bump you mentioned it.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I think a lot of people have that same perception
- 14:12Speaker 1: of him from the Netflix documentaryor QBU one Beyond the Lights.
- 14:16Speaker 1: But Bump, that was for one. You got to have
- 14:19Speaker 1: some perspective, at least I think we do is being
- 14:22Speaker 1: a little bit older. This guy was the number one
- 14:24Speaker 1: player in the country at high school at age eighteen,
- 14:28Speaker 1: and they said, hey, we're gonna give you Netflix show
- 14:31Speaker 1: and follow you round of all your moments at that time.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I can't say I would have handled myself in a
- 14:36Speaker 1: great way if.
- 14:37Speaker 3: If I had all that going for me, to be honest,
- 14:40Speaker 3: I would have handled better than that, though.
- 14:41Speaker 2: But you're right, well I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I agree,
- 14:44Speaker 2: wouldn't been perfect. I agree. I'm just trying to show
- 14:46Speaker 2: the brother some grace. I think I would have also,
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm trying to jump some grace.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And we should give these guys some grace
- 14:51Speaker 3: they're growing up with. With social media and the cameras everywhere,
- 14:54Speaker 3: they don't know what they're doing. So he was the
- 14:56Speaker 3: guinea pig for something like that, and guys can learn from.
- 15:00Speaker 2: But he was an All American.
- 15:01Speaker 3: He threw for eleven thousand yards, one hundred and sixteen touchdowns,
- 15:04Speaker 3: number one quarterback in the class of twenty nineteen, so
- 15:08Speaker 3: you know, give him some grades.
- 15:09Speaker 2: He goes to Oklahoma, he read shows.
- 15:11Speaker 3: He led the Sooners to a win over Texas and
- 15:13Speaker 3: their six straight Big Twelve championship. However, despite being a
- 15:16Speaker 3: Heisman Trophy candidate, the season didn't quite go the way
- 15:19Speaker 3: he won it and was benched against Texas for Caleb
- 15:22Speaker 3: Williams worked out for them.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Which okay, yeah, hindsight, you're yeah, it's okay. Another first
- 15:28Speaker 1: overall pick, right, So he then takes his talents to
- 15:31Speaker 1: South Carolina, where he really resurrects his career in that sense.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Resurrect may nott me a great word for that, because
- 15:36Speaker 1: not like he was terrible at Oklahoma. He was still good,
- 15:38Speaker 1: but he did well for South Carolina, playing only two seasons,
- 15:42Speaker 1: and Gardener and Black he finished his game Cack career
- 15:44Speaker 1: first in school history and completion percentage, fifth in completions,
- 15:47Speaker 1: in passing yards, and ninth and passing touchdowns with thirty
- 15:49Speaker 1: seven drafted by the Saints in the fifth round, one
- 15:52Speaker 1: hundred and fifteth overall so far this season through two games,
- 15:54Speaker 1: fifty two of eighty four, hundred and twenty one yards,
- 15:57Speaker 1: three touchdowns, no interceptions. He's taking care of the football well,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know if his I don't know if his air
- 16:02Speaker 1: tight end or what receiver was, But in that first
- 16:04Speaker 1: game against Arizona, we might have a different conversation about
- 16:06Speaker 1: the whole season if they catch that in the back
- 16:08Speaker 1: of the end zone at times kind of expiring late.
- 16:09Speaker 1: So it'll be interesting to follow Spencer and see how
- 16:12Speaker 1: he performs.
- 16:12Speaker 3: On Sunday, Let's talk about our quarterback Sam Donald. Sam
- 16:15Speaker 3: Donald played a solid game in Pittsburgh and was able
- 16:18Speaker 3: to overcome some tough plays in the first half. But
- 16:21Speaker 3: he was crucial man. It was twenty four to three
- 16:24Speaker 3: blowout of the Steelers in the second half. Second half
- 16:26Speaker 3: they bounced back. First half. Two interceptions. You're trying to
- 16:28Speaker 3: hit Cooper cup in one and then the other one.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Just pour execution on the play. You get tipped by
- 16:32Speaker 3: Hayward in your linebacker for the Steelers picks him off.
- 16:35Speaker 3: So he bounced back in the second half and it
- 16:37Speaker 3: was great man. It made one of the biggest plays
- 16:39Speaker 3: of the game, steering a third down, third and nine
- 16:42Speaker 3: from their own twenty eight yard line. The Seahawks we're
- 16:44Speaker 3: in danger of having to punt the ball back to
- 16:46Speaker 3: the Steelers and giving them a shot to tie the
- 16:48Speaker 3: game with a touchdown. It was resilience, man, and I
- 16:51Speaker 3: think it starts with him. When you start a game
- 16:53Speaker 3: the way that he started it off. It wasn't even
- 16:56Speaker 3: like he was playing horrible. It's just two big mistakes
- 16:58Speaker 3: or two big plays made by the Steelers. There's only
- 17:01Speaker 3: two ways you can go. You can crumble or you
- 17:03Speaker 3: can step up. And that's exactly what he did. There
- 17:05Speaker 3: was a clutch play at the end of the game.
- 17:07Speaker 3: He found at JSN for a forty three yard game
- 17:09Speaker 3: with Jalen Ramsey and covers. That's number one receiver type stuff,
- 17:13Speaker 3: all right. So Donald had two interceptions like I mentioned
- 17:16Speaker 3: on the day, but was twenty two of thirty three,
- 17:17Speaker 3: two ninety five and two touchdowns.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Got that w and led drives when you needed it.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Right you started the game.
- 17:22Speaker 1: You broke the streak of however long it was, going
- 17:25Speaker 1: back to twenty twenty four, when they had not twenty
- 17:27Speaker 1: twenty three, actually not scored a touchdown in the opening drive.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Yep, he makes big plays on that drive.
- 17:31Speaker 1: They come out in the second half their first possession,
- 17:33Speaker 1: marched him down and score when they needed it. Sam
- 17:35Speaker 1: Donald was playing that type of football, so I'm excited
- 17:37Speaker 1: to see where he takes it from here on the season.
- 17:39Speaker 1: The Saints, though, defensively, they're fourteenth in total defense, allowing
- 17:42Speaker 1: three hundred and ten yards per game, and they're a
- 17:44Speaker 1: thirteenth against the pass, allowing one hundred and ninety eight
- 17:47Speaker 1: yards per game.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Now bump this next matchup. Alvin Kamara. Alvin Kamara.
- 17:52Speaker 1: People say his name says it is a Kamara, Kamars Kamara,
- 17:56Speaker 1: all right, either way, it doesn't matter how I say it.
- 17:59Speaker 1: He is one of the best people to pick up
- 18:00Speaker 1: a football at that position. I honestly think we had
- 18:03Speaker 1: this conversation earlier talking about dual threat. People obviously have
- 18:07Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey, but is there a better dual threat receiving
- 18:10Speaker 1: and running running back in the NFL.
- 18:12Speaker 3: It's really hard. Those are the two, right, those are
- 18:14Speaker 3: missing anybody, No, McCaffrey and kmere. I can't think of
- 18:16Speaker 3: anybody else.
- 18:17Speaker 1: No, I mean what he's dynamic ninth season in the NFL,
- 18:21Speaker 1: which is crazy.
- 18:22Speaker 2: It's been nine seasons. Yeah, it feels like five.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Five time Pro bowler. And I said definition of dual threat.
- 18:28Speaker 1: He's never rushed for one thousand yards in a season
- 18:31Speaker 1: and has never had one thousand receiving yards in a season.
- 18:34Speaker 1: That's crazy, which is crazy to think, but he's never
- 18:37Speaker 1: had less than six hundred and ninety four rushing yards
- 18:39Speaker 1: and never had less than four hundred and sixty six
- 18:41Speaker 1: receiving yards. Plenty of times he's been nine to ninety
- 18:44Speaker 1: two or seven forty eight whatever. When you combine it, though,
- 18:48Speaker 1: he's a dude, that's usually around fifteen hundred all purpose yards.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I mean each of.
- 18:52Speaker 1: His eight full seasons, he's had at least a thousand
- 18:54Speaker 1: yards from scrimmage and usually a lot more than that.
- 18:56Speaker 1: In one hundred and seventeen career regular season games with
- 18:59Speaker 1: eighty six starts, he's carried the ball fifteen hundred and
- 19:02Speaker 1: seventy five times for six nine hundred and twenty three yards,
- 19:05Speaker 1: with sixty one touchdowns. Has also caught five hundred and
- 19:07Speaker 1: eighty one passes for four thousand, seven hundred and ninety
- 19:10Speaker 1: five yards with twenty five touchdowns. He is the franchise
- 19:13Speaker 1: Alsome leader in rush yards, rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns, two
- 19:17Speaker 1: point conversion, total touchdowns from scrimmage, all purpose yardage, and
- 19:20Speaker 1: first downs.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I mean, his resume speaks for it, so.
- 19:23Speaker 3: With some respect on his name, I can't believe this
- 19:26Speaker 3: is his ninth season either. It feels like this is
- 19:28Speaker 3: still a young man out there, and he is in
- 19:30Speaker 3: twenty twenty four in the s two hundred and twenty
- 19:32Speaker 3: eight carries for nine hundred and fifty yards and six touchdowns,
- 19:36Speaker 3: sixty eight receptions for five forty three and two touchdowns.
- 19:40Speaker 2: He's elusive. If no arm tackling this guy, all right.
- 19:43Speaker 3: You better wrap up and you better hold on for
- 19:45Speaker 3: dear life and hope that help is coming soon.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Without question, he's one of the probably the hardest dude
- 19:50Speaker 1: to tackle, and I think coach McDonald at the podium
- 19:53Speaker 1: spoke about it as smooth, like.
- 19:55Speaker 2: He's just hard.
- 19:56Speaker 1: He's the type of dude that I'm not saying he
- 19:58Speaker 1: can't run you over, but He's the type of dude
- 19:59Speaker 1: that you you get back and you're like, man, I
- 20:02Speaker 1: just can't tackle this guy. I don't know what he's doing,
- 20:04Speaker 1: but I can't. I just can't get him down to
- 20:07Speaker 1: talk about I we're running back. So you got Ken
- 20:09Speaker 1: Walker and Zach Sharbone. The run game was unlocked.
- 20:11Speaker 3: In Week two against the Steelers, ken Walker ran for
- 20:14Speaker 3: one oh five and just thirteen carries in one touchdown.
- 20:17Speaker 2: He averaged eight point one yards per carry.
- 20:20Speaker 3: This was Kin's first one hundred yard games since Week
- 20:23Speaker 3: won the last season against Denver, he passed Maurice Morris
- 20:26Speaker 3: for tenth place on the Seahawks all time rushing yards
- 20:28Speaker 3: list with twenty six hundred and fifty three. Walker is
- 20:31Speaker 3: one of five running backs with eight plus scrimmage touchdowns
- 20:34Speaker 3: in each of the last three seasons.
- 20:37Speaker 2: This guy is dynamic. He has four touchdowns.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Well, he has four touchdowns away from passing Sherman Smith
- 20:42Speaker 3: for fifth place on Seattle's all time rushing touchdowns list
- 20:45Speaker 3: with twenty nine.
- 20:47Speaker 2: And Sharbonne had ten yards on fifteen carries.
- 20:49Speaker 3: But you know what sharvone Shine Week one, ken Walker
- 20:52Speaker 3: Shine Week two combined in Week three, you got a
- 20:55Speaker 3: good run game going.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Hey, I would love to see that.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I love to see both of them a ton of
- 20:59Speaker 1: success in I'm happy for both guys, right, Jack Charbonnay
- 21:03Speaker 1: has earned more playing time because he saw it in
- 21:05Speaker 1: past projection. He saw it running the Rock and Ken
- 21:08Speaker 1: Walker we saw it again on Sunday. He has that
- 21:10Speaker 1: home run thread ability and people were ready to throw
- 21:13Speaker 1: this man away?
- 21:14Speaker 2: What are we talking about? Are you kidding me? And
- 21:16Speaker 2: I love that it took one half to be like.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, ken Walker's actually pretty good. You forget about it,
- 21:21Speaker 1: I remember now, So no love to see that from
- 21:23Speaker 1: those guys. Flipping it over to the New Orleans Saints
- 21:26Speaker 1: talking about their receivers, olave Rashi chied Brandon Cooks against
- 21:31Speaker 1: his secondary. They got a lot of guys that can
- 21:33Speaker 1: make plays as we know twenty twenty one Ohio State.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I'm not a fan of iiO State in that way,
- 21:40Speaker 1: but man, that has to be the best receiver room
- 21:43Speaker 1: that has ever been assembled in culture.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I would agree. Ever, I would.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Agree Garrett Wilson, Crystal Laveays, Marvin Harrison a Mecca and
- 21:53Speaker 1: Jamison Williams before he left was there, Yeah, Like I mean,
- 21:57Speaker 1: they're doing something nice over there.
- 21:58Speaker 2: But if you're the receiver coach with that room, I
- 22:01Speaker 2: want to say it's a notable name over there at
- 22:03Speaker 2: receiver too. I don't know if he was.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I don't know if he was then heartline right, hard line. Yeah,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I don't know he might have been. But either way,
- 22:11Speaker 1: I mean, you gotta teach every one of them is
- 22:13Speaker 1: a first round pick. Holy smokes, we know what Jayson
- 22:16Speaker 1: could do. He's obviously merged as a number one receiver
- 22:18Speaker 1: in Seattle. But Alave has been a great dude as well,
- 22:21Speaker 1: burst on the scene in the NFL back to back
- 22:23Speaker 1: one thousand yard seasons. The only thing that has slowed
- 22:25Speaker 1: him down bump has been injuries. He had multiple cushions
- 22:28Speaker 1: last year. That's what resulted him going on IR in
- 22:30Speaker 1: November of last season. But when he's on the field,
- 22:32Speaker 1: we know he's dangerous. He's definitely gonna be a top
- 22:34Speaker 1: cover for the Seahawks. So far this year, he hasn't
- 22:37Speaker 1: had a crazy game. He has thirteen receptions and one
- 22:39Speaker 1: hundred and eight yards.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yeah, he's all right, though, He's gonna be alright. You
- 22:42Speaker 3: watch film on this guy. He is so fast and explosive.
- 22:44Speaker 3: He's getting open. He's got to get on the same
- 22:46Speaker 3: page with his quarterback. Another play maker, Rashid Shah He
- 22:49Speaker 3: the fourth year wide out, has made his mark for
- 22:50Speaker 3: New Orleans in both the passing game and the return game,
- 22:53Speaker 3: where he was selected to the Pro Bowl and voted
- 22:56Speaker 3: as an Associate Press All Pro in twenty twenty three.
- 22:59Speaker 3: He can get busy in addition to return. Dude is
- 23:01Speaker 3: in twenty twenty three shit, he'd enjoyed a breakout season
- 23:04Speaker 3: on offense when he recorded forty six receptions for seven
- 23:07Speaker 3: hundred and nineteen yards. That's fifteen point six per catch
- 23:10Speaker 3: with five touchdown, Grass finishing twelfth in the NFL in
- 23:13Speaker 3: yards per catch.
- 23:15Speaker 2: He's just fast. And anybody who rocks.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Number twenty something and you're playing receiver in the NFL,
- 23:19Speaker 3: you know you're gonna be nice.
- 23:20Speaker 2: She don't just walk to twenty something.
- 23:22Speaker 3: That's the number you give a walk on freshman in
- 23:25Speaker 3: college and say, all right, work your way out this number.
- 23:28Speaker 3: So no, he's up. He's one of the fastest players
- 23:30Speaker 3: in the game so far this year. Ten receptions, eighty
- 23:32Speaker 3: five yards, one touchdown. He could be a problem.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah, this is with this group you gotta worry about
- 23:37Speaker 1: keeping people in front of you. You cannot get lazy.
- 23:39Speaker 1: You can't relax for a second because this dude, this
- 23:41Speaker 1: group has speed and they're good at it. Last, but not least,
- 23:44Speaker 1: we got veteran Brandon Cooks.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Cook oh G. Make it his return to New Orleans.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 23:49Speaker 1: He started his career there at twenty fourteen to twenty sixteen.
- 23:51Speaker 1: He has six career one thousand yard seasons, which is
- 23:54Speaker 1: tied for fifth most in the NFL. Since he was
- 23:56Speaker 1: drafted in twenty fourteen. Cooks joins Brandon Marshall as the
- 23:59Speaker 1: only players in the NFL history record at least one
- 24:01Speaker 1: thousand receiving yards in a season with four different teams. Overall,
- 24:04Speaker 1: he's played in one hundred and sixty career games with
- 24:06Speaker 1: one hundred and forty four starts for New Orleans, the Patriots,
- 24:10Speaker 1: the Rams, the Texans, the Cowboys, posting career totals of
- 24:14Speaker 1: seven hundred and fifteen receptions and eighty four yards, sneaking
- 24:18Speaker 1: up on ten thousand and sixty touchdowns to go along
- 24:21Speaker 1: with fifty eight carries, three hundred and forty one yards,
- 24:23Speaker 1: and two scores. Voted the team captain, You're right, you
- 24:26Speaker 1: said it. He is the OG, he's a leader in
- 24:27Speaker 1: that room. Hasn't done a lot so far this season
- 24:30Speaker 1: five receptions and fifty two yards, but again, at any point,
- 24:32Speaker 1: any one of these guys can get off. So it'll
- 24:34Speaker 1: be interesting to see how the Seahawks can make sure
- 24:36Speaker 1: to keep them in front and play good defense.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Man, he won't be a Hall of Famer, but he's
- 24:41Speaker 3: one of those guys that everyone's gonna respect when it's
- 24:44Speaker 3: all said and done with Brandon Cook, So yeah, man,
- 24:49Speaker 3: keep your eyes on him.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Seahawks defense, they're twenty first against the pass line two
- 24:53Speaker 1: hundred and thirty yards per game. I think again, as
- 24:55Speaker 1: the season goes on, if the Seahawks only give up
- 24:58Speaker 1: two hundred thirty yards throughout the season, they will be
- 25:01Speaker 1: in the top five.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Yeah, they'll be just fine. So just fine.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Excited to see that, and we're you have to wait
- 25:05Speaker 1: on Devin Witherspoon and Nicki Minori.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Love to see them play. We'll see how they practice
- 25:09Speaker 2: this week.
- 25:10Speaker 1: But we talked about it on the recap pod and
- 25:12Speaker 1: really excited to see the depth in the secondary.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Even when those guys were.
- 25:15Speaker 3: There, Kendricks Joe Shack got some time too, so they
- 25:19Speaker 3: should be okay, all, let's talk about our receivers JSN
- 25:22Speaker 3: and Cooper Cup against the Saints, Jasim was added again
- 25:25Speaker 3: bars against the Steelers. He finished the day with eight
- 25:28Speaker 3: receptions for one hundred and three yards on ten targets.
- 25:30Speaker 3: This was the fifth one hundred yard game of Jackson's career.
- 25:33Speaker 3: He now he now had one hundred yard games and
- 25:36Speaker 3: back to back weeks. Man he is consistent. I believe
- 25:39Speaker 3: he's number two in the league when it comes to
- 25:41Speaker 3: receiving yards this year. So far, jas needs three receptions
- 25:45Speaker 3: to pass Corn Robison, my former teammate, for fourth place,
- 25:47Speaker 3: and six receptions to pass Daryl Jackson for third place
- 25:50Speaker 3: for the most receptions in the player's first three seasons
- 25:53Speaker 3: in franchise history, with one hundred and eighty three and
- 25:55Speaker 3: one hundred and eighty six, respectively. He needs one hundred
- 25:58Speaker 3: receiving yards to become the second player in France history,
- 26:00Speaker 3: behind DK, to record three consecutive one hundred yard games.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I remember when that happened and he broke Steve largest record,
- 26:06Speaker 3: and we could.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Not believe that that was the record.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Big ups, the large, big ups, the DK, but I
- 26:11Speaker 3: just knew there was a receiver who went off for
- 26:12Speaker 3: like four, five, six weeks.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Right, and if there's someone to do it as Jason yep,
- 26:17Speaker 2: without question.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I've already gone on record saying I think he's gonna
- 26:20Speaker 1: break the single season receiving record that DK broke under
- 26:24Speaker 1: three Uh huh. I think he's gonna break that. And
- 26:27Speaker 1: so we'll wait, We'll wait and see through two weeks.
- 26:29Speaker 1: You mentioned it. Second, the NFL receiving yards two hundred
- 26:32Speaker 1: and twenty seven only trails Molik Neighbors, who has two
- 26:35Speaker 1: hundred and thirty eight. But Bump, well, you know, I
- 26:36Speaker 1: really loved about that. Last week. Coach talked about it. It
- 26:39Speaker 1: can't just be the js N show, and it wasn't.
- 26:41Speaker 1: On Sunday, spread the love. Cooper Cup got into the
- 26:44Speaker 1: game man.
- 26:44Speaker 3: He finished with seven receptions on ninety yards on nine targets,
- 26:48Speaker 3: only had three targets against San Francisco.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Was good to see him get going to it. He
- 26:52Speaker 2: got it going.
- 26:52Speaker 3: They had a big third down catch as well. Showed
- 26:55Speaker 3: the sticky hands. He's reliable. Nice to see Cooper Cup
- 26:58Speaker 3: resemble the man of the past.
- 27:00Speaker 2: No question about it.
- 27:01Speaker 1: And when those guys are firing on both cylinders, it
- 27:03Speaker 1: is hard to keep people in front. I love loving
- 27:05Speaker 1: how their separation and how they're getting away from defenders.
- 27:07Speaker 1: So really excited to see how that goes. And the
- 27:10Speaker 1: last matchup we're gonna look at in general is just
- 27:12Speaker 1: Cam Jordan. We've been showing a lot of love to
- 27:15Speaker 1: some ogs today, Bump, and we're gonna continue to do it.
- 27:17Speaker 2: I love it. We're familiar with the name.
- 27:19Speaker 1: He's been setting quarterbacks in the NFL since twenty eleven.
- 27:23Speaker 1: He's fifteenth is fifteenth NFL season, has one hundred and
- 27:27Speaker 1: twenty three one hundred twenty three crew sacks that ranks
- 27:29Speaker 1: twentieth in the history of the National Football League. My
- 27:31Speaker 1: dude's a Hall of Famer. We know that he has
- 27:33Speaker 1: the most sacks in the NFL since twenty twelve. He
- 27:35Speaker 1: has the eighth most since twenty seventeen. Von Miller is
- 27:38Speaker 1: the only active player that has more Saxon Jordan with
- 27:40Speaker 1: one hundred and thirty. Cam has also played every game
- 27:43Speaker 1: of his career with the Saints and has played in
- 27:46Speaker 1: two hundred and thirty nine games. That second in franchise history,
- 27:49Speaker 1: only trailing Drew Brees, who has two forty five. Assuming
- 27:52Speaker 1: he stays healthy, he is going to get that. And
- 27:55Speaker 1: at thirty six, he can still play, Bump. He's got
- 27:56Speaker 1: four tackles, one and a half sacks, and one pass
- 27:58Speaker 1: defended on the season.
- 28:00Speaker 2: He's doing a lot.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I know he's a dude that'll do coverage on Fox
- 28:03Speaker 1: and that kind of thing, NFL Network, what have you.
- 28:05Speaker 1: But seeing dudes at this age doing what they're doing.
- 28:10Speaker 1: I'm thirty four in my ankle flares up twice a
- 28:13Speaker 1: year and I can't walk.
- 28:15Speaker 2: You know what they got. They got more money to us.
- 28:17Speaker 3: They got more access to the healing methods and whatnot.
- 28:20Speaker 3: We just don't have access to that stuff.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yeah, if I had the same money, me and Cam
- 28:24Speaker 2: Jordan would be the same person. I'm probably throwing upstance
- 28:28Speaker 2: out there.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Oh sorry, disrespect you can that would not be true.
- 28:30Speaker 1: But anyway, he can play ball. And I'm excited to
- 28:33Speaker 1: see the Seahawks matchup against them. But I mentioned it,
- 28:37Speaker 1: I teased it earlier, Bump, I'm gonna go out in
- 28:38Speaker 1: a limb and I'm gonna tell you in this Path
- 28:40Speaker 1: to victory a hot take that is gonna blow your mind.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Let's go after forty five waits for the snat Michael
- 28:48Speaker 1: Dixon puts it down.
- 28:50Speaker 2: That kick is away. If that kick is gone, good
- 28:53Speaker 2: day on Gwen. It's gone.
- 28:55Speaker 1: It's a path to victory.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I'm Hawk talk.
- 28:59Speaker 1: See how I need to get right home. That's a
- 29:00Speaker 1: priority for everyone in this building. A's priory for McDonald,
- 29:03Speaker 1: it's prior for the players. There's a priority for everyone.
- 29:05Speaker 1: The Seahawks have been amazing on the road in their
- 29:07Speaker 1: head coach mc McDonald, with an eight and one record,
- 29:10Speaker 1: winning the last seven in a row. Obviously we need
- 29:12Speaker 1: to put the script at Homehawks or three and seven
- 29:14Speaker 1: in their last ten games. But I'm telling you I
- 29:17Speaker 1: don't think the Hawks is another home game this year.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Wow, that's the take, all right. I really believe it.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I really believe it.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I looked at the opponents and I just I'm not
- 29:27Speaker 1: saying that there aren't difficult opponents on there, but I
- 29:29Speaker 1: really think there's a feasible chance. Watching what we did
- 29:32Speaker 1: in Pittsburgh, I think this is a little bit of
- 29:33Speaker 1: a piece of the puzzle. We're setting it up slowly
- 29:36Speaker 1: but surely. But I'm telling you I will be all
- 29:39Speaker 1: over this if that happens at the end of the year,
- 29:41Speaker 1: you I will be letting everybody know shout from.
- 29:43Speaker 3: The rooftops, from the rooftops. We lose a couple more,
- 29:46Speaker 3: we'll delete the footage today. That's the beauty of digital.
- 29:49Speaker 2: No.
- 29:49Speaker 1: In all seriousness, though, I really do think the Seahawks
- 29:52Speaker 1: can flip the script at home, and I think it
- 29:53Speaker 1: starts on Sunday against the Saints.
- 29:55Speaker 3: All right, let's get it hot take. I'm not stilled
- 29:57Speaker 3: at I'll give you credit for it, though, Okay, I
- 29:58Speaker 3: appreciate the credit. And they got to prove the success
- 30:02Speaker 3: in the run game wasn't a fluid, right, Ken Walker,
- 30:04Speaker 3: Zach Charbona.
- 30:04Speaker 2: That gotta get going early. I want I'm.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Interested to see just how they do this, man, because
- 30:09Speaker 3: each have shown that they are explosive and are capable
- 30:13Speaker 3: of doing this thing. Obviously K nine is gonna get
- 30:15Speaker 3: the nod to start the game. We'll see how this thing,
- 30:18Speaker 3: this thing goes. And take care of the football, man,
- 30:21Speaker 3: Just take care of the ball. The Saints are zero
- 30:24Speaker 3: when it comes to turnover differential, three touchdowns, one fumble,
- 30:29Speaker 3: didn't lose it. But they're they're nice and even so,
- 30:32Speaker 3: you take care of the football and match that.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Energy, no question about it. And for us, I just
- 30:37Speaker 1: want to see Jays and keep going out.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Man.
- 30:38Speaker 1: I want to see him have another three one yard
- 30:40Speaker 1: game or one hundred yard game. I want to see
- 30:42Speaker 1: him break the record. I want to continue to show
- 30:44Speaker 1: him to doing that. And offensively, they need to stay
- 30:46Speaker 1: out a third and long, man. I think better being
- 30:48Speaker 1: better on early downs, being better on first and second
- 30:50Speaker 1: down obviously gets you in third and shorts and keeps
- 30:52Speaker 1: you competitive. Last year they did. Last week they did
- 30:55Speaker 1: a really good job in those third and longs. But
- 30:57Speaker 1: that's not sustainable. You stay out a third and long,
- 30:59Speaker 1: you do a lot better and keep taking the ball away.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Hawks are second most interceptions in the NFL. Get after
- 31:04Speaker 1: Spencer Rattler or take it away, rattle the rattlers. What
- 31:07Speaker 1: I've been saying all week. We need to get that going.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Contain Alvin Kamara. We just talked about how great he is.
- 31:13Speaker 1: He can hurt you.
- 31:14Speaker 3: A bubble screen can go fifty yards if you don't
- 31:16Speaker 3: rally to the football and hustle and give the twelves
- 31:19Speaker 3: something to cheer about.
- 31:21Speaker 2: All right, this is your house protected. Let's go.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Starts on Sunday, Seahawks taking on the New Orleans Saints.
- 31:28Speaker 1: One O five star pregame show starts at ten am
- 31:30Speaker 1: on the Seahawks Radio network SEATWLES Warts cover ninety seven
- 31:33Speaker 1: to three FM. You here Michael Bumpus along with the
- 31:36Speaker 1: rest of the crew battle do it for us though
- 31:39Speaker 1: a reminder, you can catch us on YouTube, seahawks dot com,
- 31:41Speaker 1: Apple podcast, Spotify.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Amazon Music series x M.
- 31:44Speaker 1: We'll be talking to you guys on Monday, hopefully about
- 31:46Speaker 1: a Seahawks victory over the Saints.
- 31:48Speaker 2: This has been hawked off.
