- 1:10Ooh baby Man who gets fucking impaled While taking a shit And singing to his
- 1:17girl In Friday the 13th Part 5 A New Beginning Now that is the icing on this
- 1:24cake of this fucking train wreck piece of shit Street Fighter.
- 1:30Whoa, you've forgotten a very important ingredient?
- 1:33Not only did they do that, they went and hired pop star and star of Neighbours
- 1:39Kelly Minogue as Camille.
- 1:42I didn't mention her. I was actually bringing on people that had a career and talent behind them.
- 1:48In the UK and Australia, Kelly was massive. Still is. No, she's not. Come on.
- 1:54As a pop star, she's massive. No, she's not.
- 1:57As a pop star. No, she's not. She re-recorded Locomotion for the kids and that
- 2:03was it my sister was a huge fan of her and if you fucking mention Neighbours
- 2:06one more fucking time are you the fucking producer of Neighbours or something,
- 2:10is there something I don't know right, right, okay but whether you think she's
- 2:16that aggrieved or not, it's beside the point she was still, and still is massive,
- 2:20a massive star in the UK and Australia and you know what, I like Kylie so do you ah, here we go,
- 2:28and this is where it shall begin Again, this is it, people,
- 2:34because fucking Rain Man over here has got a hard-on for fucking Van Damme and this shit.
- 2:40So, okay, you're going to give your review, but you cannot use the term 80s
- 2:49cheese, because this is not for the 80s.
- 2:51No, this is the 90s. Yes, it's 94. So, you cannot go and compare this to the
- 2:57classics like Commando, all right?
- 3:00You cannot, if I hear 80s cheese or you say something, whoa,
- 3:06it's kind of like what they were doing in the 80s. No.
- 3:11No reference to the 80s at all. And it's in the spur of the 80s cheese.
- 3:16Yeah. You know, you can't. That's it.
- 3:18That's the only fucking weapon you have. Because it's a lot better.
- 3:21That's probably a better weapon than what they had here because they're all toys.
- 3:24But okay. I love this phone. It's so entertaining. Yeah.
- 3:29Jesus this is so fucking and i
- 3:32admit that it's awful but i just i i just it
- 3:35makes me smile it puts me it breaks my heart
- 3:38it puts me in a good mood this film it breaks my
- 3:41heart that this is raul julia's last film but you know what fair play to the
- 3:45guy he did this for his kids he was dying of cancer sadly tragically and he
- 3:50because his kids like many kids including myself at the time were fans of the
- 3:54arcade game which is this is based on he did it for them and you know more power to him.
- 4:00You know, what a great way to sort of, you know, he did it for his family, his children.
- 4:04So, you know, rest in peace. Great guy for doing that. Yeah.
- 4:09And you know what? And the flip side of that is your lead actor,
- 4:14Jean-Claude Van Damme, was doing $10,000 worth of Coke a week and banging Kylie Minogue.
- 4:18Yeah. Yeah. So I would say, well, really, he really given his all too.
- 4:23So good on you, Van Damme. I would say as well, apparently, well,
- 4:27according, again, according to reports, Apparently Van Damme was very difficult
- 4:31here to work with due to his presumably addictions.
- 4:34Yeah. I heard he's, I met the guy once. What was he like?
- 4:39Plant Hollywood. I was working for them and I was opening up one of the stores.
- 4:42What was he like? I didn't really talk to him. He just did his famous kick.
- 4:48Yeah. He did that for pictures in front of the Plant Hollywood. Right. I met him.
- 4:53The league guys, which was, you know, Schwarzenegger. Yes. Willis.
- 4:57Yeah, I knew you had met them, yeah. Yeah, they were cool.
- 5:01Yeah. I never had a conversation with Van Damme. He was kind of a standoff. He's tiny.
- 5:05Yes, yes. Yeah, I got the impression he was small. Tiny Minogue's tiny as well,
- 5:09you know. Yeah, he must have chucked you around like a rag doll. I don't know.
- 5:14But apparently, according to reports. I can see those two. It'd be like those
- 5:18two Muppets from Teen America.
- 5:21Yeah, yeah. Yeah, well, apparently, though,
- 5:25while the cast and crew did not get on well with Van Damme, you know,
- 5:31whenever they were filming this,
- 5:32apparently, on the other hand, they absolutely loved Kylie because Kylie,
- 5:36well, she wasn't doing shit loads of coke for a start, but apparently she would
- 5:40have brought everyone, after a day filming,
- 5:42she would have brought everyone out for drinks and food on her.
- 5:47She would have, you know, treated them, you know, and that doesn't surprise
- 5:50me. She always comes across as very nice.
- 5:52Yes, her acting abilities are probably at best.
- 5:55But her acting abilities is two things.
- 6:01She winces a lot. Yes. And she's always out of breath. Yes.
- 6:06And the big one is it always looks like she's got an incredibly,
- 6:12she's taking an incredible shit in her face.
- 6:15It just looks like powerful emotional stuff.
- 6:19You know And see whenever she's doing Like the kung fu stuff You know And she's going Dropkick,
- 6:25It's like It's like My three year old niece Doing an impression Of the Terminator
- 6:30It's so It's like watching a child You know There's a scene where,
- 6:35After the bone explodes You think they're dead But they're not clearly Yes They
- 6:40ambush three guards And she's kicking them Yeah Yeah There's Van Damme Doing
- 6:45Van Damme Van Damme is you know Badass with his kicks and shit Yeah He gets
- 6:48flammed And then you've got,
- 6:49you got Ming Nguyen played Chun Li. She's quite badass.
- 6:53Then you got fucking idiot Kylie Minogue and she's like, yeah, yeah.
- 6:58It cuts to her face and then you can, and she jumps on top of one of the soldiers
- 7:02and wraps her legs and it's clearly a stunt double. Oh yeah.
- 7:04The stunt double is the funnest part because it's.
- 7:09You can't, because Kylie Minogue's so bad in this, or miscasted,
- 7:13is because you can't picture her doing these. She's completely miscast.
- 7:19Yes, it's not like Von Daum, you don't care because it's Von Daum, he can do what he wants.
- 7:23But this, you're still laughing, even though you've got a stunt double who's
- 7:28doing the actual stunts and looking pretty impressive, you can't stop laughing
- 7:31because you know that girl is not Kylie Minogue, and you know that Kylie Minogue can't do this.
- 7:35And then it cuts to Kylie Minogue with the emotional face on her.
- 7:39Her work yeah like that that's it she has that i'm on
- 7:41a breath bowel movement yeah kind of look yeah yeah
- 7:48i mean yeah to be
- 7:51fair though that they are there we go
- 7:54they do sort of stick to the game where
- 7:57they give her the wee catchphrases like you know cammy and
- 8:00the game she's actually actually the character in the game is actually british
- 8:03but i'm presuming that kylie couldn't do a convincing and enough british accent
- 8:06so they made her australian so but but cammy uh actually does in the game does
- 8:11say those wee things like whenever she does a drop kick just in case you know
- 8:15the people don't know that it's a drop kick she goes drop kick.
- 8:21Yeah and all around to do stay true to the characters of the game here you know
- 8:25there's no story to the game obviously as we discussed before this podcast you
- 8:29know it's just fighting but you know so they've got a bit of a job on their
- 8:32hands anyway to create a story around these No, they don't. But they stay true
- 8:36to the character. What's the job on their hands?
- 8:37How hard is it to create characters?
- 8:39They have names. Yeah.
- 8:42No, no, but they stay true to the... What do they stay true to?
- 8:48Well, basically... They keep the characters from the game. It's not like... Not said, not said.
- 8:54You know, and yes, they sort of, you know, there's a lot of sort of additional
- 8:57backstory they give them, credit to them, you know?
- 9:00Like, Ryu and Ken are basically hustlers, for example.
- 9:05Yeah, let's talk about... I'll stop there for a second. Let's talk about those fuckers and Victor.
- 9:09It's pretty much... Because the movie's geared around really Ryu, Ken, and Victor.
- 9:13Yes. And Chun-Li. Yes. Those are the characters. And then Van Damme,
- 9:17Kaini, and Bison are kind of the wraparound characters.
- 9:23Yes. But it's those ones you're focusing on.
- 9:26And it's really the day in the life of a con artist, because that's what Ken and Ryu are.
- 9:31Yes. And they go on a journey. We talk about arcs. They do go on an arc.
- 9:34And even Ken. Oh, my God. You said that so seriously.
- 9:37You actually said that seriously. Ken, at the end, has a Han Solo moment where
- 9:43he says, where he beats selfish and goes to take himself off.
- 9:47And then, but he decides not to and to come back and fight for his mate, Rao, and the good guys.
- 9:52Zanjif, the Russian guy, you know, the stupid Russian guy, he's a character in the game as well.
- 9:57He has an arc where he turns good in the end and helps him. Wow, very powerful. Wow.
- 10:05Maybe I'm seeing this film now in a different light. Thank you, Trevor.
- 10:10In the country of Shabaloo Boo or whatever you call it yeah I don't know who
- 10:15the fuck it is Jesus Christ I just want to ooh baby ooh baby DJ as a character,
- 10:22all of the characters are here,
- 10:25But it's not that hard to do that. Did you realize that?
- 10:29Okay, let's get that over. Anyone can just put a name. Okay,
- 10:33oh my God, how do we do Street Fighter?
- 10:35I got it. We'll give them the names.
- 10:39I was a bit disappointed that we didn't see more of Blanka and Dhalsim, who here is Dr.
- 10:46Dhalsim, played by the guy from Temple of Doom.
- 10:50You know it's always good when you deck one guy from Temple of Doom.
- 10:53Well see that see that actor who plays dr
- 10:57dalcy menace he's a very serious indian actor british
- 11:00actor rosh i think it's named yeah roshan see sap
- 11:03yes well he's on record as saying
- 11:06that you know whenever he came on the set he knew he was going to be playing
- 11:08this mad scientist and stuff and and he was asking serious questions about how
- 11:13to approach the role and stuff and what's this character's motivations and all
- 11:17that's here he said that nobody knew so he just gave up and just That's what
- 11:21he was told. Here it was. He just like, whatever.
- 11:27That's what everyone was told. Yeah. You know.
- 11:32Simon Callow's in here as well. Very serious British actor. Plays Charles Dickens
- 11:35a lot. Yeah. Yeah. I know.
- 11:39Yeah. So he can have 150 hostages, including Charlie. That's one of our boys.
- 11:45Guile. Yeah, Guile. He becomes a freak man.
- 11:49And he does it. they do it, this is so stupid.
- 11:53It looks like bags of Gatorade and they're putting the IV in them and they're
- 12:00showing him hostile videos.
- 12:02Yeah. So they're pretty much just they're doing a Clockwork Orange here, right? Yeah. And,
- 12:07We'll save the outcome because it's the funniest fucking moment in the entire film.
- 12:11And there's a lot of them. It's a cross between Frankenstein's monster,
- 12:15the clockwork orange, and the Incredible Hulk.
- 12:19I was waiting for you to go, Charlie's sad.
- 12:23Charlie, I'm sad. Don't make me angry. You don't like me when I'm angry.
- 12:27I was waiting on that. Terrible. Terrible.
- 12:31Everything in this film looked terrible. Everything. Everything,
- 12:35the clothing designs, the camouflage they were wearing. What was with the pink?
- 12:41The everything. They're keeping with the character's outfit.
- 12:44Terrible. From the game? Terrible.
- 12:47Fuck me. I don't think it's up. I think the set design and stuff's pretty good.
- 12:50Oh, my God. It looks something. It looks like from a game show.
- 12:55It's horrible. You know you see it. You can tell us. What?
- 13:00Don't jump. We're not. Is this about the scenery? This isn't about something else.
- 13:05Okay, far enough. I'm talking about the scenery. Right. Yeah,
- 13:08I mean it's- Okay, so if you jump in and you start talking about- It's decent. Fucking- What?
- 13:13The scenery and all and the set design and stuff.
- 13:17Terrible. The costume design is decent? It's right up there at King Selman's
- 13:19Mines. No. Right up there at King's. They took it. Yes, it is.
- 13:22That's a million times better.
- 13:23The only decent set piece they- Fuck off. The only decent set piece they have
- 13:26here is the fucking thing he floats on. That's kind of cool. Yeah.
- 13:30And it's geared up like the game console That's right Which is a nice north,
- 13:35Yeah that's a nice There there you go That's it That's it,
- 13:39Because the outfit that fucking Bison wears, he's got these armor pieces that look like plastic.
- 13:47You can see it's shaking.
- 13:50It's so cheap, and it's terrible. But it's the same costume that he wears in
- 13:54the game, so at least they're being true to that.
- 13:57Don't give a shit. But you should if you're a gamer. Why would you give a shit
- 14:02if it looks like this? I'm not even a gamer. That's the best about it.
- 14:04But why would you be okay with this outfit knowing it looks like that?
- 14:09It looks like something you would build in your basement when you're going to
- 14:13kindergarten school and you have to dress up as a robot.
- 14:16And you're saying the Hulk thing's good looking? That's good,
- 14:19that's good, that's cool too. That's good looking, the Hulk.
- 14:22What do you guys think about Charlie's makeup?
- 14:24I would say it's possible in terms of the costume. Oh my God.
- 14:26For the type of film this is, I mean, let's face it, this ain't Shakespeare
- 14:29and it's not meant to be, even though sort of Raoul is sort of playing it like
- 14:32a Shakespearean villain.
- 14:34Again, like Langella does in Masters of the Universe, which we've just discussed.
- 14:38Langella. Yeah but you know what I mean To me the design and the costume design
- 14:43And all it's possible The design work in He-Man the Master of the Universe Which
- 14:48came out 7 years earlier Is 3000 times better than this I think it's possible here 3000.
- 14:55This is crap This is terrible,
- 14:59And this is worse than a canon film That came out 7 years earlier This is more
- 15:04entertaining to me No it's not
- 15:06and that's it's it's wow so
- 15:10so bison wants
- 15:14to create the super soldier and build what i think is a city bisonopolis something
- 15:19like that yes that's crap what whether it's not whether it's basically it's
- 15:24face printed on the money is chun
- 15:26li a ninja yes but she's also a reporter journalist yeah Of course she is.
- 15:34And also, the reason she's after Bison is because he basically went into her
- 15:40village and basically massacred them all, including her family.
- 15:44Yeah, and Badam has his best part. His best fucking stupid.
- 15:49He gets a plan with Ryu and Ken. Ken's supposed to shoot him.
- 15:53And then he dies. Which was the worst.
- 15:56It was terrible. Terrible, and there's Kylie Melo crying.
- 16:01I'm like, oh, fuck me, this is terrible. Okay, Meryl Streep here.
- 16:06And he must be holding in his breath. I mean, I love, you know.
- 16:09Yeah. And here's the best part. So Chun-Li-
- 16:13breaks in to the headquarters where he's been brought, taken, whatever.
- 16:19Yes, the morgue. And she's got her ninja gear on, and she's flipping around,
- 16:22doing her thing, and she gets there, and he's still lying there in the morgue, not breathing. Yeah.
- 16:29And he pops up, and she's like, what?
- 16:34And then they all go, ah, you'd be here. So you've been playing dead for like six hours?
- 16:40Yeah. When everyone in that room Knows you're not dead It's a complete contrivance
- 16:45for the sake of a stupid joke Where it's basically like you know whenever you
- 16:48were a kid You used to put a blanket around you and go boo It's basically that
- 16:52type of joke You know so all of this contrivance That's terrible that's really
- 16:57bad And then There's a line where he's,
- 17:00You gotta go you can't be here Yeah This is not about a personal Vendetta and
- 17:08then she leaves and then he's like, it's about mine.
- 17:14What the fuck? This time it's personal with Van Damme.
- 17:17Yeah, he says, yeah, it's not about your personal vendetta and then when she leaves it's about mine.
- 17:22Yeah. I think it's worth establishing as well that you know,
- 17:25his character, Van Damme's character Guy, basically works for the Allied forces
- 17:30who's in this country, this made up country of Shabaloo Boo or whatever,
- 17:34I don't know, to basically take down the evil dictator caterer,
- 17:37bison name, bison, and that's pretty much it.
- 17:40But also there's gunrunners in the background, Sagat and Vega,
- 17:44you know, with the mask and the claw.
- 17:47Victor. Yeah, yeah. That's Westudy. Yeah, yes, I know, and he's actually decent in this.
- 17:53So he is all things considered.
- 17:56He has a presence, so there's actually quite a lot going on in this script.
- 18:01I love how you're like, wow, now you're saying this This is a great script. Wow.
- 18:08It's decent. You know what? Oh, my God, dude. It's a decent script.
- 18:12Dude, it's not a decent script. Yes, it's terrible. It's extremely silly.
- 18:16It's terrible. No, it's extremely silly, but they're doing the best with a lot
- 18:21of silliness, if you know what I mean.
- 18:23They're doing their, oh, they're not.
- 18:26Steven Shazooza, there's no, 35 million budget.
- 18:29And now I won't say. You shouldn't have played this too serious.
- 18:34It's based on. He-Man. I'm going to go back. He-Man wasn't even close to that
- 18:39budget and they pulled it off.
- 18:41This doesn't. Not even close. This is terrible. It's considered one of the worst
- 18:46movies ever made. And it definitely is.
- 18:48It's, you know. Yeah. It's extremely silly. But you like it.
- 18:51No, you just give everything passes because it's stupid silly.
- 18:55No, no. You don't look at competency. You don't look at competency. competency you don't
- 18:58look at the actors who are actually in it they are competent you don't look
- 19:01at the director or the writer behind it who's the same thing but who
- 19:04should we give us more yes my point that's why i made
- 19:07that intro in the beginning everyone involved in this
- 19:09film should have gave us more it's the only one who did was the man who's dying
- 19:13sadly is raul julia and then i mean i'm sorry stevens is used as the blame for
- 19:19this of course he is and van damme and these guys are a in their game i'm not
- 19:24saying you give us this shit that's that's the problem I'm not saying this is
- 19:28a good film. That shouldn't be like this.
- 19:29I'm not saying this is a good film. I'm saying it's bad. You always do that,
- 19:32though. You give movies passes for being shit.
- 19:34I understand if they're Ed Wood style, where, God, they're silly idiots.
- 19:40He's trying his best. God love him. This isn't Ed Wood. This is a serious budget,
- 19:46serious people behind the producing team, serious director and writer,
- 19:51serious cast, and this gets a pass from you because it's silly.
- 19:55It's not supposed this is terrible terrible filming it's tricy fun it's entertaining
- 20:00but i'm not saying that that is not me saying that it is good filmmaking art
- 20:04is in any way competently made uh apart from um royal julia,
- 20:09You know, there are a few sort of good bits and pieces in here.
- 20:12I am sort of winding you up as well, but I'm making points too.
- 20:17But like Ed Wood, this is, there's still an- You can't say like Ed Wood. No, no.
- 20:22It's not like Ed Wood. That's my point. I just said that to you.
- 20:26No, yes. I just said that to you.
- 20:28Ed Wood wasn't a comp in the filmmaker, was not a comp. That was the whole point
- 20:31of Ed Wood and his charm. Yes, I understand. He was a fanboy first.
- 20:35But this film has charm too, that's what I'm saying. No, it doesn't.
- 20:38It does to me no it doesn't and maybe
- 20:41it's nostalgia reasons because i'm not a gamer i've never been
- 20:44a gamer really but as a kid a teenager i loved
- 20:48playing the arcade version of street fighter
- 20:502 and this is actually based on super street
- 20:53fighter 2 you know just to make that clear but oh
- 20:58yeah for all your fans out there just want to make that clear
- 21:01no i mean don't get me wrong i know this
- 21:04is complete and utter nonsense and badly made nonsense
- 21:07but to me there is some legible about the silliness
- 21:10and just a pure nonsensical over the
- 21:13topness of it i i just enjoy it
- 21:16makes me smile i enjoy this i come away from
- 21:19watching this anytime i watch it in a good mood i can't
- 21:23help it it's just the way i am you know what i mean and yes there's nostalgia
- 21:26there why i'm because i was such a fan of the arcade game and stuff and it brings
- 21:30me back to whenever i was 15 and hanging about with my mates you know the back
- 21:34of that shop and playing the arcade game you know and you know it was a good
- 21:37time and stuff so maybe i am tainted by nostalgia but i'm not in any way saying
- 21:42this is a good film it's complete and utter nonsense.
- 21:45But i always enjoy it i have a real soft spot for it so sue me you know that's
- 21:52that's great you said it's the best film ever made that's fine that's new that's
- 21:55what we like so the government are just going to pay the $5 billion.
- 22:00Yes. Who's going to pay $5 billion for 150 people? No government's going to pay that for 150 people.
- 22:05Yeah, they could in reality, but they wouldn't either, you know what I mean?
- 22:08I know, but they decide they're going to do it. And then Jean-Claude Van Damme
- 22:13gets up on the podium in front of 20 people, 20 people.
- 22:17He's, we got to do this for us, blah, blah, blah. He's with me.
- 22:21Yeah. And they all go with him.
- 22:24So they all get disobeyed the government, which would never happen,
- 22:26but okay. But basically what happens is mutiny.
- 22:29This is a rebellion against the allied governments.
- 22:34I love how you're really reading.
- 22:38I love how you're like Steve Zalian wrote this for Spielberg.
- 22:44I love how you're trying to really flesh out the characters and the story.
- 22:48There's nothing here. You're really taking it to the next level.
- 22:52You're making it sound smarter than it is. You're trying to find a smart egg here.
- 22:57And there is. I love Simon Callow was the, you know, the uptight sort of British
- 23:02politician type, you know. Again, that's pantomime stuff. But yeah.
- 23:08So they decided to go and get Bison, you know, but they've also got Ken and
- 23:13Rau who are like on the cover.
- 23:15Yeah, they got Lee. They got Lee too. And there's a scene where she's trying
- 23:19to manipulate, you know, flirt with Bison.
- 23:23Yeah. It's so bad. I know. And he goes, I know women very well.
- 23:28You know what? And I know, I know Zungfish.
- 23:31He goes, I know, I know, I know women very well. And I know you're harmless.
- 23:38And then she goes, I want you to think that. And she busts through her fucking
- 23:43chains or whatever it is. I'm like, oh, fuck off. Yeah.
- 23:47You know what is, there's no denying this is not a brilliant line.
- 23:51This is just a superb line where she gives this whole emotional story about,
- 23:55you know, killing her family and her village and all this here.
- 23:58And then he can't remember it. And it's brilliantly delivered by Roald Jule
- 24:02goes, for you, you know, me killing your family was the most important day of your life.
- 24:08But for me, it was Tuesday.
- 24:13You cannot argue that that is a brilliant line. I'm brilliantly delivered.
- 24:18I love how you use brilliant.
- 24:21Oh, but I know that's fucking comedy gold and just sort of, you know, just brilliant line.
- 24:29So the Hulk's revealed. This is terrible.
- 24:33This just gets worse and worse. worse then has
- 24:37a change of heart well you know i think he was always like a good guy
- 24:39just sort of it seems like all the bad guys that bison had all become kind of
- 24:44good guys like victor and dj technically and then you had ryu and ken ken mainly
- 24:51gets his full arc and then you've got his big henchman dude you got all these
- 24:55guys who seem to oh yeah okay we're cool,
- 24:58yeah even sort of sagat and vegan dj all sort of sort of team up at the end
- 25:03as well but yeah laughing,
- 25:07Also, E. Honda's in there as well, and the boxer guy from the game,
- 25:10you know? I don't know. I don't know. I don't care.
- 25:13I love when, so Charlie, the freak.
- 25:18Yes, yes. Runs into Van Damme, and he goes, he goes, help me.
- 25:24Please, help me. And then Van Damme goes, no problem, no problem.
- 25:29I'm going to help you. And he whips out the gun and you shoot him in the face.
- 25:32I've already seen videos that he's watching on the boat on
- 25:35the way there where they're like having dinner with their wives and girlfriends and
- 25:38stuff so it's like like the form this emotional connection between
- 25:42these two guys and then next thing he's just like sort of
- 25:44blasé okay i'll help you out and then i go shoot him in the head
- 25:47only dr dalcine stops him yeah the
- 25:50villain stops him yeah and and then
- 25:53yeah and even charlie's quite
- 25:56coherent yeah he knows who he's he goes oh he
- 25:59goes help me and he's gonna shoot him even pet like don't shoot
- 26:02me like what the fuck well that's because now you're
- 26:05gonna help me the reason he's struggling between good and bad is because
- 26:08um you know there's this whole conflict there this sort of deep sort of internal
- 26:12conflict between you know going between good and bad is because doctor we go
- 26:16internal conflict it's because there's no internal conflict no there is because
- 26:22dr dal team has a change of heart whenever he's shown in the images who shows him like nice images of
- 26:27like i don't know fluffy bunnies and ships um so he's
- 26:31getting bombarded with like then two sets of images you know it goes from clockwork
- 26:36orange to like fluffy bunnies and stuff so like he's like part good and part
- 26:39bad again in keeping you know with the character in the game the internal conflict
- 26:45i wanted to see more of blanca he's a big character in the games.
- 26:51Yeah, okay, sure. Not bad, it's bad.
- 26:55And I wanted to see Dalsim's stretchy arms and legs, which he has in the game,
- 26:58but presumably they couldn't afford to go that far with the special effects
- 27:01we might've seen in the sequel.
- 27:03And then Ken and Ryu have their moment when Ryu goes, stops.
- 27:07He goes, Ken, I'm not leaving.
- 27:09I'm going back to help these people. And he goes, and he's like,
- 27:12hey, they're being paid to do this tonight.
- 27:16He goes, they're paying for this.
- 27:18They're being paid to fight. and Raoul goes, I have something worthwhile. I'm going back.
- 27:24And Ken's like, I don't understand. I knew you wouldn't.
- 27:28Very powerful. That's Raoul's character. Don't start. Don't start overanalyzing this.
- 27:35Raoul has become, over the course of the events, he's rediscovered his humanity. So he has.
- 27:42Ken does as well later on, but he's just a bit delayed on it. You know?
- 27:48This is all about character arcs This is a character piece You know this whole thing,
- 27:54Oh god I love how Doc and Charlie decide To stay in the freak show place To try to fix them,
- 28:03We're going to stay here Do the right thing Yeah I'm going to help this freak
- 28:08And I'm going to do the right thing It's very powerful,
- 28:12Oh yeah totally It really hits you It's a
- 28:15real emotional core you know and then
- 28:18fucking bison gets electrocuted and then he's got a
- 28:21built-in reviving suit that gives him adrenaline and pumps his heart back up
- 28:26i can't keep him with the game because in the game he can like turn electric
- 28:29and fly so you know at least yeah yeah i didn't see those ropes at all when
- 28:34he was flying that wasn't no look at this trickery witchery that he could do this,
- 28:41they're actually a good bit whatever in the comment before the the final fight
- 28:44where Van Damme does a guile kick from the video game but he's basically flat
- 28:50but he's obviously clearly on ropes as well.
- 28:53And the ending when all of a sudden there's a photograph of him.
- 28:57They're all paused. Yeah.
- 28:59I was like, what the fuck did this come from? They do this big jump up and go, yeah!
- 29:04That's so stupid! Oh my god, this is terrible! And DJ has escaped with the money
- 29:10but then he finds out that But, you know, he thinks that's him.
- 29:13He's basically a mercenary. He's basically shafting Bison.
- 29:17He's saying, I'm out of here. And he grabs the money. But it turns out the money's worthless.
- 29:22And he's there with Victor Sagat and Vega and stuff. But it's a stupid money from earlier on.
- 29:29With Ben Bison, it's worthless. And Bison's face on it.
- 29:33Yeah, it's a piece of shit. So, 30 minutes. Perfect. We can end this. We're done. Rob Kick!
- 29:41Two of the directors didn't say that. Yeah, this is...
- 29:45People know how I feel about it. No big deal. I'll defend it. So we're done.
- 29:48While I appreciate and I agree with you that it is a big load of crap and a
- 29:52big load of nonsense and silliness, I can't help liking it. It's just a fun film.
- 29:58So it is. But, each to their own.
- 30:02I'm happy to go against the general public's sort of opinion on this.
- 30:09So thanks for listening.
- 30:12You can give us a shout out at SinisterFrame underscore podcast on Instagram and of course Facebook.
- 30:18I apologize for Trevor's comments and making this more than what it really was or is.
- 30:26And we'll just end with that. Yep. And thank God we're going to better films
- 30:31now because that ends Bad Cinema time.
- 30:35But we'll have to come back. I think we do got to do Lost City of Gold.
- 30:38Oh yeah, we'll have to follow it up. yeah we'll have to follow it up and do
- 30:42you know that there was actually there was sequels I think there's at least
- 30:46one or two sequels to this Street Fighter film The Legend of Chong Li,
- 30:52but they're not direct sequels I think they're just like sort of spin-off types
- 30:55you know separate to this particular version no,
- 31:02didn't care to know about that I think they were straight to video I could have
- 31:06judged that fucking hell.
- 31:11You got the ad for nothing about the film anything else you want to add before
- 31:15we end this just a yeah no no for a change of actually nothing more to say you,
- 31:25know what I did get something from Street Fighter
- 31:28what did you ever shut up Trevor can't stop that's it that's how good Street
- 31:35Fighter is because it's It actually gets me to shut up and actually just sit
- 31:39there and just be immersed in the storytelling prowess and the sort of creme de la creme of,
- 31:47you know, the acting magnum opus of the likes of Kylie and Vant.
- 31:51You know what they could do for military purposes? If they want to create a
- 31:55super soldier now, they can just put someone in a tube, lock them in there and
- 32:00make them watch Street Fighter over and over again.
- 32:03Those images would turn anyone violent. Yeah there you go So if you guys want
- 32:07a super soldier idea Make a must this shit Alright guys we're out of here Take
- 32:12care of yourselves and we'll talk soon.
