- 0:00Speaker 1: Think Galactus is like thirty two thousand pounds, so I'm
- 0:02Speaker 1: not sure that the city could withstand him standing on
- 0:06Speaker 1: top of it. But we're not gonna get into that.
- 0:08Speaker 2: We're just gonna assume that the eight too eight New
- 0:10Speaker 2: York Foundation is made out of tougher stuff in her
- 0:13Speaker 2: Animal Foundation. Hello, and welcome to Made the Review be
- 0:19Speaker 2: with you with Nick named Joe.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm Joe and I'm Nick, and today we are talking
- 0:24Speaker 1: about the Fantastic Four first steps. The opening entry to
- 0:29Speaker 1: Phase six in the MCU begins with the First Family
- 0:33Speaker 1: and it's a new era. It starts on Earth eight
- 0:36Speaker 1: two eight. Joe, How you doing.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Fantastic? Oh? Doing fantastic? Nick? Oh? No, Like seriously, I
- 0:48Speaker 2: mean not that this was like a huge bar to clear,
- 0:52Speaker 2: but like this is most definitely the best Fantastic Four
- 0:54Speaker 2: has ever looked on on the silver screen. Yes, I
- 0:58Speaker 2: like this movie. I am I'm gonna come in hot
- 1:01Speaker 2: and heavy with some criticisms, but like, I really do
- 1:05Speaker 2: like this movie. I want to get that very clear.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I enjoyed the heck out of the whole team. It's
- 1:11Speaker 2: the best that the cast, like our family has ever
- 1:15Speaker 2: felt like. Everyone feels very true to form as they
- 1:17Speaker 2: are portrayed in the comics, and even if that wasn't true,
- 1:21Speaker 2: the family's just fun when they're all interacting together. I
- 1:25Speaker 2: cannot stress that enough. It is the best casting that
- 1:27Speaker 2: we've ever had. Who knew that if you just cast
- 1:30Speaker 2: really compelling actors and had some good writing, that you'd
- 1:34Speaker 2: have characters that are interesting? What a secret to success?
- 1:39Speaker 1: My goodness, I agree. Definitely the best fantastic form film
- 1:43Speaker 1: they've made, although it's not really shouldn't have been too
- 1:46Speaker 1: hard to get there, but enjoyed that. I really enjoyed
- 1:50Speaker 1: the cast overall. They interacted super well, and the writing was, like,
- 1:55Speaker 1: for the most part, pretty solid as far as like
- 1:57Speaker 1: the dialogue goes between characters. But I think me and
- 2:00Speaker 1: you are going to kind of be on the same
- 2:03Speaker 1: wavelength theory as far as coming in hot with some
- 2:05Speaker 1: criticism they are. There's just something about the film that
- 2:10Speaker 1: kind of just fell off the whole time, and I'm
- 2:15Speaker 1: not exactly sure what it is. I have some ideas.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I have some ideas, but.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It definitely I think what hurts it is that Superman
- 2:27Speaker 1: just came out two weeks ago and it was so
- 2:29Speaker 1: damn good at like picking up from a place in
- 2:33Speaker 1: the story that they wanted to start in without giving
- 2:36Speaker 1: you the backstory, and this movie.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Oh, I'm very glad that you're bringing this up, because
- 2:40Speaker 2: this is actually one of my points.
- 2:42Speaker 1: This movie essentially gives us like the first ten minutes
- 2:45Speaker 1: are like or not even maybe longer the first twenty
- 2:48Speaker 1: minutes or like kind of backstory of the Fantastic Four,
- 2:52Speaker 1: Like they tried to do it in a quick way,
- 2:53Speaker 1: but that still ended up being longer than it should
- 2:56Speaker 1: have been, and it was like unnecessary. You know, we
- 3:00Speaker 1: all know who the Fantastic Four are. This is like
- 3:02Speaker 1: the fifth Fantastic Four movie in fifteen years, Like we
- 3:05Speaker 1: don't we don't even need like the you know TV
- 3:10Speaker 1: show and like like late night esque show intro that
- 3:15Speaker 1: they were giving us, like we don't need it, you know,
- 3:17Speaker 1: it's just it's just extra. And that felt like it
- 3:22Speaker 1: was it took even too long to give us that,
- 3:25Speaker 1: So that was like right off the bat starting like
- 3:28Speaker 1: that was just like okay, like can we get to
- 3:30Speaker 1: can we get to it? Can we get to it? Yeah?
- 3:33Speaker 2: I was gonna wait till we get to things that
- 3:35Speaker 2: we don't like, but since we're already here, no, I
- 3:38Speaker 2: completely agree with you as far as as intros go.
- 3:42Speaker 2: It really did feel like we were watching a fifteen
- 3:46Speaker 2: to twenty minute like clip show, like just like really quick,
- 3:49Speaker 2: like hey, this is what the world is, this is
- 3:51Speaker 2: who the people are, and like some of this felt unnecessary,
- 3:57Speaker 2: and like what makes it so funny is a phrase
- 3:59Speaker 2: that the movie you is that you just used, which
- 4:03Speaker 2: is the Fantastic Four. We all know the story and
- 4:06Speaker 2: it's like, well, yeah we do, so like let's just
- 4:08Speaker 2: get on with it, right, Why why are we doing this?
- 4:12Speaker 2: Like I don't know Superman is. I'm like, it sucks
- 4:17Speaker 2: that we're gonna compare this to Superman, but like they
- 4:19Speaker 2: just came out so close to together and it's impossible
- 4:23Speaker 2: not to so like, yeah, it's it's gonna happen here,
- 4:26Speaker 2: yeah Superman. As you mentioned, it just drops you into
- 4:29Speaker 2: the action. It gives you, like, you know, this very
- 4:32Speaker 2: quick summary Star Wars as summary of like everything you
- 4:35Speaker 2: need to know, right, and then like we're just off
- 4:37Speaker 2: to the races, right, Whereas like Fantastic Four, Yeah, it's
- 4:41Speaker 2: a little handholdy, and there's part of this that like
- 4:44Speaker 2: I feel like could have been great if we just
- 4:48Speaker 2: got some time to spend with the characters. This is
- 4:51Speaker 2: gonna be my biggest criticism for the whole movie is
- 4:55Speaker 2: and I cannot stress this enough. I don't think that
- 4:58Speaker 2: this is a bad movie. I like this movie. But
- 5:01Speaker 2: something I don't like, at least in most cases, is
- 5:04Speaker 2: when something feels too plot motivated, where like instead of
- 5:09Speaker 2: something that's character driven. Right, I feel like the family,
- 5:13Speaker 2: for like as great as they feel, I feel like
- 5:15Speaker 2: we don't get to spend enough time with any particular
- 5:20Speaker 2: character sansu Storm, and to like really get emotionally invested
- 5:26Speaker 2: in like any of them really, which which sucks, especially
- 5:31Speaker 2: Silver Surfer, which like we'll get into that later. But yeah,
- 5:38Speaker 2: I so well, like, you know, sorry, one more thing here,
- 5:42Speaker 2: some plot, right, because like the plot literally centers around
- 5:45Speaker 2: Galactus as he like comes to Earth. He's literally the
- 5:50Speaker 2: plot motivating this story, right, and like it almost feels
- 5:54Speaker 2: like the plot doesn't even really begin until we see
- 5:58Speaker 2: Galactus for the first time, right, which that kind of sucks,
- 6:03Speaker 2: you know, But yeah, that's that's my biggest criticism is
- 6:06Speaker 2: just it's a it's a very plot heavy movie.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and some of it everything you just said like
- 6:14Speaker 1: makes total sense, and part of the problem, right, is
- 6:16Speaker 1: like this is like a fourfold issue. Like Phase six
- 6:22Speaker 1: is starting, We're reintroducing the Fantastic Four, which you know,
- 6:27Speaker 1: for the first time in this MCU, we're getting the
- 6:29Speaker 1: Fantastic Four. Plus it's a new Earth that we've never explored,
- 6:34Speaker 1: so it's the first time we're seeing a two eight
- 6:37Speaker 1: so like and which we'll see at the end spoilers.
- 6:43Speaker 1: They introduced Doctor Doom in an after credit scene. And
- 6:47Speaker 1: the reason that's important to mention is because we all
- 6:49Speaker 1: know that, like Phase six, this all leads to doomsday Avengers, doomsday, right,
- 6:54Speaker 1: whatever happens starting from Fantastic Four first steps and the
- 6:58Speaker 1: next films and TV shows like It's Eating the dooms Day.
- 7:01Speaker 1: So this movie also has to give us something about
- 7:06Speaker 1: Doctor Doom because obviously he comes from this world, so
- 7:11Speaker 1: we need to at least be introduced to him in
- 7:14Speaker 1: some capacity. Right, we get an after credit scene. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: this movie has to do all of these things with
- 7:19Speaker 1: the opening phase right, Introduce new characters, introduce a new Earth,
- 7:23Speaker 1: Introduce a new big bad while still giving us like
- 7:25Speaker 1: a big bad that's bad enough to battle, And they
- 7:32Speaker 1: choose twenty minutes of like, hey, this is who they're
- 7:34Speaker 1: Fantastic Four are and this is the story that you
- 7:36Speaker 1: already know, but we're gonna still tell you. It's just
- 7:38Speaker 1: like we need. We definitely did not get enough time
- 7:43Speaker 1: with any character, like in any moment that they had
- 7:46Speaker 1: in the movie where you like you're supposed to feel
- 7:47Speaker 1: sentimental or like really feel like love or whatever, like
- 7:51Speaker 1: did not hit because like we don't know these characters,
- 7:55Speaker 1: Like we know the Fantastic Four, but we don't know
- 7:56Speaker 1: these specific versions, right, And they could have spent twenty
- 8:00Speaker 1: minutes giving us that instead, and they didn't, and it
- 8:07Speaker 1: just it definitely fell short on that front. But like
- 8:10Speaker 1: you said, like they did such a great job with
- 8:14Speaker 1: like giving us really cool sets and scenes and the
- 8:19Speaker 1: acting was solid and it was a fun movie and
- 8:22Speaker 1: it was enjoyable and was definitely the best Fantastic for
- 8:25Speaker 1: when they've made, but there are so many pieces that
- 8:27Speaker 1: just felt rushed. Yes, and it really like the whole
- 8:31Speaker 1: time I'm sitting there watching, I'm like, Okay, I like this,
- 8:33Speaker 1: but like I don't feel like I'm in the movie.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I feel like I'm just like I feel like I'm
- 8:37Speaker 1: like watching a world happen. Yeah zoom by me, But yeah,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I feel like I'm like Galactus, just like watching these
- 8:44Speaker 1: people operate instead of like actually being like involved or invested.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It was a weird feeling to me watching it.
- 8:50Speaker 2: That's a little big headed of you to think that
- 8:52Speaker 2: you were Galactus. But yeah, it's fine.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I'm just a piece of you know, shi.
- 8:57Speaker 2: T I mean, this guy can eat like Galactus, am
- 8:59Speaker 2: I right?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Wow?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Wow?
- 9:03Speaker 1: This got off the rails.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Sorry can resist? No, I think I think you nailed
- 9:10Speaker 2: every point there. I'm in one hundred percent agreement with
- 9:13Speaker 2: you on this movie. You're you're so right about it,
- 9:17Speaker 2: not just trying to be trying to zoom through the
- 9:21Speaker 2: plot of this movie, but also setting up for the
- 9:24Speaker 2: rest of the phase, which like it, it's very clearly
- 9:28Speaker 2: present there. Right. Yeah, I think for me as far
- 9:33Speaker 2: as like that not being attached to like any particular character,
- 9:37Speaker 2: I was really interested. But you can have a plot
- 9:40Speaker 2: motivated movie, right, and it's still be good. But I
- 9:43Speaker 2: do think you need to have like at least some
- 9:46Speaker 2: kind of emotional attachment to like some of the characters.
- 9:48Speaker 2: They don't need like full character arcs, sure, but like,
- 9:51Speaker 2: you know, just some kind of attachment, like we never
- 9:53Speaker 2: really got there, and I think what like really made
- 9:57Speaker 2: that clear as day for me was the resolution with
- 10:02Speaker 2: the Silver Surfer. So Silver Surfer is one of the
- 10:05Speaker 2: main characters of this movie really for as much like
- 10:09Speaker 2: Catharsis as they put on her, And it feels like
- 10:16Speaker 2: we are missing like a few scenes with her for
- 10:19Speaker 2: like her ending to like the ending makes sense, but
- 10:24Speaker 2: like it doesn't feel like we got there emotionally right
- 10:27Speaker 2: for her to like make this sacrifice play, which I
- 10:31Speaker 2: gotta say it kind of sucks. I wish we got
- 10:35Speaker 2: to spend a little bit more time with her. Really
- 10:37Speaker 2: any character really, just any character. But yeah, the sacrifice
- 10:43Speaker 2: play that Silver Surfer makes to make sure galact is
- 10:45Speaker 2: at the far end of the universe, you know, a
- 10:49Speaker 2: million light years away or whatever it was, right, It
- 10:53Speaker 2: literally comes out of nowhere. It is the perfect example
- 10:57Speaker 2: of a dou sex machina. She just zooms into the
- 11:01Speaker 2: planet and just tackles them into the teleportation hole right
- 11:04Speaker 2: in the wormhole, right yeah, And I'm sitting there like wondering.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I feel like usually Marvel does, Marvel's writers do a
- 11:14Speaker 2: pretty decent job of at least giving something for everybody
- 11:22Speaker 2: to do in most movies, right, Like, well, why isn't
- 11:26Speaker 2: this person here right now? Well, they're dealing with this,
- 11:27Speaker 2: even though like that feels like maybe that could be
- 11:30Speaker 2: solved very easily. They're busy, I get it, what Silver
- 11:33Speaker 2: Surfer do it like just like sitting on the sideline
- 11:36Speaker 2: just watching, just like Biden her time, like fail interfere.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Now you know she's gonna deciding. Yeah, she just left
- 11:44Speaker 2: the movie for a little while and then like comes
- 11:47Speaker 2: back and decides to end it, which like maybe that
- 11:49Speaker 2: was maybe that was a mercy.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I don't know, so I think I was a little
- 11:54Speaker 1: bit more on the side of like I kind of
- 11:56Speaker 1: feeling that would happen. I think they did a decent
- 11:58Speaker 1: job setting up like her change of heart with the
- 12:02Speaker 1: scenes with Johnny, and I say decent job, right, Like,
- 12:10Speaker 1: I think they did a decent job getting and I
- 12:12Speaker 1: kind of liked that little storyline where Johnny's like off
- 12:14Speaker 1: on his own figuring out how to decipher her language
- 12:17Speaker 1: based on a sentence.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I love Smart Johnny Storm by the way,
- 12:22Speaker 2: just throwing that out there.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Smart Johnny Storm is awesome. And they did and of
- 12:27Speaker 1: course like they did a good job at least at
- 12:29Speaker 1: the beginning movie telling us like these are actually the
- 12:31Speaker 1: smartest people on this earth, like all of them, including
- 12:34Speaker 1: Ben Grimm, right, Like they're everyone smart. It's not just
- 12:36Speaker 1: some Ben.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Grimm's even, right, it's like Read's clearly the smartest, but
- 12:40Speaker 2: all of everyone's very intelligent.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So they gave they make me believe that, like Johnny's
- 12:45Speaker 1: Johnny can figure out this language based on having, you know,
- 12:50Speaker 1: a few words translated. I don't think that. I thought
- 12:54Speaker 1: it was a little weird that he was also speaking
- 12:56Speaker 1: the language, but that was a little strange, not gonna lie,
- 13:00Speaker 1: but that was a cool scene when he's kind of
- 13:02Speaker 1: like overwhelming the Silver Surfer with like her language and
- 13:05Speaker 1: like having this conversation with her, and like that obviously
- 13:08Speaker 1: is the moment where she starts to think, and then
- 13:10Speaker 1: that's the reason why at the end she like comes
- 13:12Speaker 1: in and saves the day. So I think they did
- 13:14Speaker 1: a decent job setting it up. I didn't like hate it.
- 13:18Speaker 2: But I don't feel either. I think I think it
- 13:21Speaker 2: makes it makes sense. It just feels like we're missing
- 13:24Speaker 2: just like watch just like one thing like but.
- 13:26Speaker 1: To your point, like I feel like we got more
- 13:29Speaker 1: character development from the Silver Surfer than we did from
- 13:32Speaker 1: anyone else in the film.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Right and like as far as like main characters go,
- 13:37Speaker 2: like it feels like that should have came from one
- 13:40Speaker 2: of the four right, right, Like this.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Movie should be called The Silver Surfer and the Fantastic fun.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Let me ask you, is this a better Silver Surfer
- 13:48Speaker 2: movie than the original Fox Entry one.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna say yes, because I don't remember the original
- 13:56Speaker 1: Fox Centery. I didn't watch it recently.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I know you'd I did. It's funny. My wife actually
- 14:05Speaker 2: brought it up. She said that the plot was better,
- 14:10Speaker 2: but the emotional connection that's established between the surfer and
- 14:15Speaker 2: the family in the Fox Century version was better, which
- 14:21Speaker 2: I think she's absolutely right. And here's the reason. They
- 14:24Speaker 2: got to spend more time together, you know, like literally
- 14:30Speaker 2: like as as Glactas is like coming upon the planet
- 14:34Speaker 2: like the surfers with before, and it's just like chilling
- 14:37Speaker 2: in their fantastic car. Like, hey guys, this is looking problematic.
- 14:40Speaker 2: You know, he was part of the plot. Really, it
- 14:43Speaker 2: wasn't just gone, you know. I think that would have
- 14:46Speaker 2: been more interesting if if she at least got to
- 14:48Speaker 2: spend a little bit more time with Johnny instead of
- 14:50Speaker 2: just zooming off and away, or if she did maybe
- 14:53Speaker 2: Johnny's gone too, and like this, you know, creates some
- 14:56Speaker 2: steaks in the plot because like the four is down
- 14:59Speaker 2: to three, where's Johnny?
- 15:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 15:01Speaker 2: Ye that could have been that could have been fun
- 15:04Speaker 2: and and you know, a uh, you know it's time
- 15:09Speaker 2: to actually spend with not just the surfer, but with Johnny. Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I that was a little disappointing, I will say so
- 15:17Speaker 2: since we're harping on uh, not spending a lot of
- 15:20Speaker 2: time with the characters. Something I do like about this
- 15:24Speaker 2: movie is something I mentioned earlier. Every character feels great
- 15:28Speaker 2: as far as like who you know they're depicted from.
- 15:31Speaker 2: They all feel very authentic. I was surprised that my
- 15:35Speaker 2: favorite character of the four is easily Sue Storm. I
- 15:41Speaker 2: I thought this is this was the best she's ever
- 15:44Speaker 2: been represented. I mean, like Sue Storm always beautiful, right,
- 15:48Speaker 2: which like the Hollywood's never messed that up. But Sue
- 15:53Speaker 2: Storm also like incredibly intelligent, right, which is something that
- 15:57Speaker 2: you brought up earlier. Everyone feels very smart, right and
- 15:59Speaker 2: like Sue Storm certainly no exception also, and I'm so
- 16:05Speaker 2: glad that they got this. Sue in the comics is respected,
- 16:10Speaker 2: like people respect the heck out of Sue Storm like
- 16:14Speaker 2: the Fantastic Four, his enemies like they may hate Red,
- 16:16Speaker 2: but Madge they love Sue. They're like, I read sucks,
- 16:21Speaker 2: I hate Read, but Sue. I would literally I would.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I would kill myself for Sue. Like they love Sue,
- 16:27Speaker 2: And I'm glad we got that in this movie with Moleman.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I thought that was actually pretty cool. Yeah, yeah, even
- 16:33Speaker 2: though we Mollman's barely a character in this movie. He's
- 16:37Speaker 2: really another like plot device to help like eliminate collateral damage,
- 16:41Speaker 2: but at least like he works as like a way
- 16:44Speaker 2: for us to get to know Sue a little better. Right.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I think Galactus is like thirty two thousand pounds, so
- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm not sure that the city could withstand him standing
- 16:53Speaker 1: on top of it. But we're not going to get
- 16:54Speaker 1: into that.
- 16:55Speaker 2: We're just gonna assume that the eight too eight New
- 16:58Speaker 2: York Foundation is made out of tougher stuff. In Prinnibal Foundation,
- 17:05Speaker 2: Shane also like, so at what point did they establish
- 17:09Speaker 2: like a highway system to Subterranea, Like when did that happen?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Like they just kind of tunnel that was just like ready,
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yeah for sure, for sure. But yeah, like we mentioned before,
- 17:22Speaker 2: I love smart Johnny Hollywood. I don't think he's ever
- 17:26Speaker 2: messed up Johnny Storm. It's like the one thing that
- 17:28Speaker 2: they get right in every Fantastic four movie. Johnny should
- 17:30Speaker 2: feel cool. And I think Johnny feels cool. But Johnny
- 17:34Speaker 2: also gets, you know, a chance to rise the action
- 17:36Speaker 2: in a way that I don't think we usually get
- 17:38Speaker 2: to see him do, which is neat. I like that
- 17:40Speaker 2: Read Richard's feels flawed, which that's a huge thing for Read.
- 17:44Speaker 2: For as smart as he is, he needs to feel
- 17:47Speaker 2: like a very troubled character. Ben Grimm, like the Ben
- 17:52Speaker 2: Grimm's kind of soft in this movie. He's got he's
- 17:54Speaker 2: got a big old heart, you know, for being the
- 17:56Speaker 2: toughest character, Like, you know, he's just a big old softy. Uh.
- 17:59Speaker 2: And I thought that was very fun. Wish we got
- 18:01Speaker 2: a little bit more time with his girly friend. Yeah
- 18:03Speaker 2: that seemed fun. But yepe nope, nope.
- 18:07Speaker 1: And you know, to talk about some I think they
- 18:11Speaker 1: overdid the clobbering time just a little bit too, Like,
- 18:14Speaker 1: you know, it.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Sucks the trailer. I feel like ruined it, you know.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, like they gave us like at the very beginning,
- 18:21Speaker 1: you get you get a flame on reference, and you
- 18:23Speaker 1: get like a clobbering time references like oh cool, they
- 18:26Speaker 1: got like the we're gonna reference the original out of
- 18:29Speaker 1: the way, let's let's have fun, you know whatever, and
- 18:31Speaker 1: then we get like it's clobbering time like seven more times.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, all right, all right, all right, And then.
- 18:38Speaker 1: They had to do it when he was like at
- 18:39Speaker 1: the end when he's actually fighting, I'm like, I didn't
- 18:41Speaker 1: need it.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I just well, like that's what I'm saying, Like that's
- 18:44Speaker 2: the payoff, right, that's the joke payoff. But like the
- 18:46Speaker 2: trailers like ruined that, like you know, like okay, that's
- 18:49Speaker 2: when he's gonna say it. Yeah, why did you guys
- 18:52Speaker 2: do that?
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:53Speaker 2: That could have been fun. That could have been great, right,
- 18:56Speaker 2: Oh well, it could have been dare I say fantastic?
- 19:00Speaker 1: Also real quick, I know we talked about Earth A
- 19:02Speaker 1: two eight, but that we have to shout out Jack
- 19:04Speaker 1: Kirby because his birthday is August eight, August twenty eighth,
- 19:09Speaker 1: So that's the that is the reason behind the A
- 19:13Speaker 1: two eight being the particular number for this Earth. So
- 19:15Speaker 1: shout out Jack Kirby.
- 19:17Speaker 2: You know that that is really awesome for a lot
- 19:19Speaker 2: of reasons. The biggest one I think is so stan Lee, uh,
- 19:25Speaker 2: you know, always gets his accolades in the MCU for
- 19:29Speaker 2: being a father of Marvel, right and like you know, rightly,
- 19:33Speaker 2: so you know a lot of this would not exist
- 19:35Speaker 2: without Stanley, but like Jack Kirby definitely does not get
- 19:38Speaker 2: as much like respect, at least in the MCU, And
- 19:42Speaker 2: damn he deserves it, right because like it's it was
- 19:46Speaker 2: stan and Jack right, And it was great that we
- 19:48Speaker 2: got to you know, Jack Kirby shout out here, you know.
- 19:51Speaker 2: That was that was very nice.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Facts love it all right.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Well, hey, so you know you mentioned a two eight.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I do want to say I like A two eight too.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I wish that we could have spent more time getting
- 20:07Speaker 2: to know the world. I love the retro tech feel.
- 20:11Speaker 2: It's it's really cool that like we're just kind of
- 20:14Speaker 2: stuck in like the sixties, but like you know, hyper
- 20:17Speaker 2: technology is like all around thanks to the Fantastic Four. Yeah,
- 20:22Speaker 2: that's that's awesome. I love the visuals that we get
- 20:27Speaker 2: in this movie, which might be a good segue into
- 20:33Speaker 2: space travel.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Space travel.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so Fantastic Four. Something that I really like about
- 20:38Speaker 2: them is that typically in comics they're They're not just
- 20:43Speaker 2: like the superheroes, like we're here to save the day.
- 20:46Speaker 2: What's really fun about them is that, first and foremost
- 20:48Speaker 2: that they are always explorers. That's what they do, right,
- 20:52Speaker 2: They go to new frontiers. So I'm glad that we
- 20:55Speaker 2: got to see a movie where they're doing that. In
- 20:57Speaker 2: the movie like really focuses on them being scientists first, right,
- 21:00Speaker 2: So them going to travel to Galactus pretty fun, pretty interesting.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I love I love that their ship is the Excelsior,
- 21:09Speaker 2: you know, a Stanley reference. That's awesome. I really just
- 21:15Speaker 2: want to highlight for a second here the chase sequence
- 21:20Speaker 2: between the Surfer and the Excelsior. This to me was
- 21:23Speaker 2: like one of the most exciting pieces of the entire movie.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I loved this scene. I know that you're big visuals guy,
- 21:30Speaker 2: how did you feel about it?
- 21:31Speaker 1: That was that was really cool getting a you know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: super what is it like faster than the speed of
- 21:37Speaker 1: light travel scene basically right where they're.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Also battling, it's exactly what it was, and.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Johnny is like firing a gun, but he realizes like
- 21:44Speaker 1: the wormhole is like shifting the how how it shoots,
- 21:48Speaker 1: so he has to like use the wormhole to wrap
- 21:50Speaker 1: around the gun to be able to hit the Silver Surfer,
- 21:52Speaker 1: which was like a really cool scene. That was really awesome.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Also there uh their view of like gargantuan.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Basically yeah, yeah, exactly, this is why I was asking you.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and then you know the shot of what
- 22:08Speaker 1: the black hole looks like really freaking cool, very interstellar,
- 22:12Speaker 1: very interstellar. In my head I was watching this, I
- 22:15Speaker 1: was like, man, you know you could hmm, there's gotta
- 22:17Speaker 1: be an edit you can do here where all of
- 22:20Speaker 1: a sudden interstellar begins. You know, absolutely, they come across,
- 22:26Speaker 1: they come across coop.
- 22:28Speaker 2: You know, maybe they find tars.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Yeah right, what is this guy doing here?
- 22:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Herbie gets a little robot friend.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Yeah. And I thought that was a cool way to
- 22:37Speaker 1: buy the team time, right because they were like, we're
- 22:40Speaker 1: not Silver Surface powerful enough to She's not gonna get
- 22:42Speaker 1: sucked into the black hole, but she's going to be
- 22:45Speaker 1: stuck for a month.
- 22:46Speaker 2: That was I thought that this was a great idea.
- 22:49Speaker 2: It's like we're we're just gonna trap her using a
- 22:51Speaker 2: neutron star. That was awesome. That feels like a very
- 22:54Speaker 2: read Richard's thing to do, and that the visual audit
- 22:57Speaker 2: was sick.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like we need to buy some time. We can't.
- 23:00Speaker 1: We can't defeat her, so we're gonna, you know, trap her,
- 23:02Speaker 1: which like this is a very common theme throughout the film, right,
- 23:04Speaker 1: Like Galactus is too powerful to beat. He's the oldest
- 23:08Speaker 1: being in the universe. He existed before anyone else did
- 23:11Speaker 1: in the universe. He was a human who now feeds
- 23:14Speaker 1: on worlds to stay powerful. Like, you can't beat him,
- 23:19Speaker 1: so you have to trick him, right, Like when Silver
- 23:22Speaker 1: Sover was very similar, they really didn't know how to
- 23:25Speaker 1: beat her. They had to trick her or change her
- 23:28Speaker 1: heart basically, which they did both those things throughout the film.
- 23:31Speaker 1: So it's a very interesting common theme where it's just
- 23:34Speaker 1: like the Fantastic Four might not be extremely powerful separately,
- 23:41Speaker 1: but together with their smarts, they are able to like
- 23:45Speaker 1: figure out ways to like win at the end of
- 23:47Speaker 1: the day, which I think is just kind of like
- 23:50Speaker 1: the big lesson at the end.
- 23:53Speaker 2: So yeah, you know, as far as visuals go, you know,
- 23:57Speaker 2: we brought up Interstellar, which like that I agree with
- 24:02Speaker 2: you like it that very much felt like Argantua, I
- 24:05Speaker 2: do have to bring up one more that I loved
- 24:09Speaker 2: that they referenced to this, and I think, for me,
- 24:13Speaker 2: this is the first time that I've ever seen a
- 24:15Speaker 2: movie do a birthing in space. Let me know if
- 24:17Speaker 2: there are others that came before this. But the reason
- 24:20Speaker 2: why I want to like call this out so like
- 24:23Speaker 2: I really enjoyed that scene as well. I thought, you know,
- 24:26Speaker 2: as far as like suspense goes or like a challenge goes, like,
- 24:29Speaker 2: it was at least interesting, right, like how do you
- 24:32Speaker 2: do a person without gravity? Right? But when when the baby,
- 24:37Speaker 2: when Franklin does come into the movie that you cannot
- 24:41Speaker 2: tell me that this wasn't meant to be a or
- 24:44Speaker 2: at least like the reference here and they were drawing
- 24:47Speaker 2: inspiration from. Is not two thousand and one a space odyssey,
- 24:52Speaker 2: you know with like the evolution of man into like
- 24:55Speaker 2: the next step and like seeing like the baby like
- 24:58Speaker 2: in space like in the womb, right, Like that's absolutely
- 25:01Speaker 2: like what they're referencing. And I don't think that that
- 25:03Speaker 2: reference is without foreshadow Like it wasn't just there just
- 25:09Speaker 2: to be as a fun callback to two thousand and
- 25:11Speaker 2: one space odic to see because like in that movie,
- 25:14Speaker 2: like this is a reference to like the next evolution
- 25:17Speaker 2: of man. The next mutation of man right, spoilers for
- 25:24Speaker 2: what Franklin Richards is, And I think it was a
- 25:28Speaker 2: great way of showing us a how Franklin Franklin's going
- 25:33Speaker 2: to continue to be the struggle of the main struggle
- 25:37Speaker 2: of this family, right as they continue forward within the
- 25:41Speaker 2: MC multiverse, not just obviously in this movie, but like
- 25:47Speaker 2: forward which you know, as you brought up a bit
- 25:50Speaker 2: of a foreshadow for like the post credit scene at
- 25:53Speaker 2: the end here, right, So I love I love that
- 25:56Speaker 2: depiction of Franklin. That was that was really cool. It
- 25:58Speaker 2: was very creative. That was probably one of my favorite
- 26:00Speaker 2: scenes in the movie.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah, really with movies about him, you know.
- 26:04Speaker 2: It is it is Sprinkling is kind of the main character.
- 26:07Speaker 1: He's like essentially the main character, main reason for the
- 26:09Speaker 1: plot and and everything, and and then of course the
- 26:12Speaker 1: after credit scene too, it's like he is the reason
- 26:15Speaker 1: for all of this and for all of the bad
- 26:18Speaker 1: things that are happening or will happen because of his
- 26:22Speaker 1: apparent apparent power that we'll of course see later. And
- 26:27Speaker 1: did kind of see at the end of the movie,
- 26:28Speaker 1: right with with Sustorm coming back.
- 26:30Speaker 2: So did I did they get you with that?
- 26:36Speaker 1: No? They no, I knew she wasn't gonna die. They
- 26:39Speaker 1: didn't build the reason. The reason is because it didn't
- 26:41Speaker 1: let us like we didn't really get to we got
- 26:43Speaker 1: to know her the most, but like it still wasn't
- 26:45Speaker 1: enough to like build in the stakes like oh no,
- 26:47Speaker 1: she might die.
- 26:48Speaker 2: It's like just so they got me for like literally
- 26:51Speaker 2: like one second. One second because I was like the
- 26:54Speaker 2: same as you, like, well reads like doing CPRS, like
- 26:56Speaker 2: she's not gonna die, come on now, like why are
- 26:58Speaker 2: we doing this? Uh? And then like it was clear
- 27:00Speaker 2: that she was dead, and I was still like, well,
- 27:03Speaker 2: hand on, okay, miracle has to happen here, surfer. No
- 27:07Speaker 2: Surfer's gone, oh crap is she couldna die for real?
- 27:10Speaker 2: And then the camera goes to baby and I'm like, ah, right, Franklin, Okay,
- 27:14Speaker 2: all right, we're good. All right. One second that got me, but.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Only because you forgot about the baby.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I forgot about Franklin for one second.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I was like, can you just like put the baby
- 27:24Speaker 1: on top of her so we can get this.
- 27:27Speaker 2: You're like, come on, come on, come on, you know.
- 27:30Speaker 1: And since we're talking about Franklin, we've touched on the
- 27:32Speaker 1: after credit scene a couple of times. Yeah, that after
- 27:35Speaker 1: credit scene picks up four years later and all of
- 27:37Speaker 1: a sudden, like doctor Doom like appears and is like
- 27:41Speaker 1: with Franklin, right, you.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Did get a subtle reference, well maybe not super subtle,
- 27:46Speaker 2: but a quick reference to him in the beginning of
- 27:49Speaker 2: the movie when they're doing the clip show of everyone
- 27:52Speaker 2: when they're at the United Nations meeting and Latveria is absent.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Right, so we got yeah, that's a great point. We
- 27:58Speaker 1: got that in the beginning, and then of course we
- 28:00Speaker 1: get to see him or the back of him talking
- 28:02Speaker 1: to Franklin briefly, So that of course like a ton
- 28:05Speaker 1: of questions, you know, the next time we see The
- 28:09Speaker 1: Fantastic Four, is it going to pick up four years later?
- 28:11Speaker 1: I'm assuming based on that after credit scene, so like
- 28:15Speaker 1: are we just we're jumping We're going to be jumping
- 28:18Speaker 1: some years here in phase six, I imagine based on that. Yeah,
- 28:24Speaker 1: that leads to kind of a lot of questions for
- 28:25Speaker 1: like the next couple films before Dooms Day, like where
- 28:29Speaker 1: are we time white wise? And then of course like
- 28:32Speaker 1: this all has to lead to six one six at
- 28:34Speaker 1: some point, right, like and we know from the Thunderbolts
- 28:38Speaker 1: have the credit scene that like there's a Fantastic four
- 28:40Speaker 1: ship that enters the atmosphere, like we're assuming it's this
- 28:43Speaker 1: Fantastic we assume it's this Fantastic four, right, we're Fantastic four.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Because read also tells us that you know the multiverse exists, right, well,
- 28:55Speaker 1: we already know that he's figured it out.
- 28:57Speaker 2: We know that he knows that.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Right, So you know, there's a lot of questions there.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I imagine that it's the A two eight Excelsior or
- 29:05Speaker 1: that appeared in Thunderbolts. But that implies that, you know,
- 29:08Speaker 1: are to these two universes are going to come together
- 29:10Speaker 1: at some point. Doctor Doom of course is going to
- 29:12Speaker 1: be like the you know, underlying factor I imagine. But yeah,
- 29:19Speaker 1: a lot of questions.
- 29:22Speaker 2: So we'll see, we will see. I do want to
- 29:24Speaker 2: go back for a second here, because like we've talked
- 29:27Speaker 2: around him a lot, but we haven't really talked about him,
- 29:29Speaker 2: and like that is Galactus. Yeah, how'd you feel about Galactus?
- 29:36Speaker 1: It's just funny how I mean, he's very similar to
- 29:38Speaker 1: a celestial so like the whole time I'm just like
- 29:40Speaker 1: thinking of the celestials, but he's not he's not a
- 29:42Speaker 1: celestial very important to mention. I don't know, Like he's
- 29:48Speaker 1: just crazy powerful being that just destroys worlds. But then
- 29:53Speaker 1: all of a sudden, he's like, this baby is going
- 29:56Speaker 1: to quench my hunger. Does he want to does he
- 30:00Speaker 1: want to eat the baby or raise the baby to
- 30:02Speaker 1: take over? I'm honestly not sure which one he wanted
- 30:06Speaker 1: to do. I didn't understand what the movie is trying
- 30:08Speaker 1: to tell me. I'm like, does he want to eat
- 30:10Speaker 1: the baby and like so that he's like never hungry again?
- 30:12Speaker 1: Or does he want a baby it's take over.
- 30:15Speaker 2: He says it. I think he only says it wants
- 30:18Speaker 2: what he really wants the baby for what he wants
- 30:20Speaker 2: Franklin for. And it's so glactus is he doesn't want
- 30:26Speaker 2: to do what he's doing basically, which is to like
- 30:29Speaker 2: keep devouring worlds. But it's a hunger that's like never satiated.
- 30:34Speaker 2: So like, you know, I think that's kind of relatable actually,
- 30:37Speaker 2: like none of us enjoy the feeling of hunger. That's
- 30:39Speaker 2: a horrible feeling, right, and like he's just always hungry, right,
- 30:43Speaker 2: And he tells us that this child will be my
- 30:46Speaker 2: successor like I feel like the power in him he's
- 30:50Speaker 2: been touched by the power cosmic, which is like one
- 30:52Speaker 2: of the most powerful thing, one of the most powerful
- 30:54Speaker 2: like sources of energy in Marvel comics. He's like, yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 2: this baby, like this is he's gonna be me. I
- 31:01Speaker 2: get to stop doing this because like to be the
- 31:04Speaker 2: world of ours kind of like it's kind of a curse,
- 31:07Speaker 2: like it has to exist in the universe. It's almost
- 31:10Speaker 2: like a gardener, you know, you have to come in
- 31:12Speaker 2: and like do the clippings, right.
- 31:13Speaker 1: But this is my big question, Like, so does the
- 31:18Speaker 1: baby have the power to like get rid of his
- 31:19Speaker 1: hunger or wa Like how how is this? How is
- 31:24Speaker 1: the baby the reason that he's not gonna need to
- 31:27Speaker 1: do that anymore? And then if the baby's gonna take
- 31:29Speaker 1: his place, does that mean that Franklin Richards now is
- 31:32Speaker 1: gonna have this hunger that he has to devour worlds
- 31:34Speaker 1: in the future. Like it's completely unclear and like a
- 31:40Speaker 1: little ridiculous to me, because again I was like, does
- 31:43Speaker 1: he want to eat the baby? Like I'm not kidding,
- 31:45Speaker 1: Like I was like, what does he want to What
- 31:46Speaker 1: do you mean? Like he's gonna take over the throne?
- 31:49Speaker 1: But this baby has the power to quench my hunger.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 31:52Speaker 2: Like you're freezing? That freezing was a little weird, like
- 31:57Speaker 2: to question, Like I understand what they meant when they
- 31:59Speaker 2: said that, like to they mean to end his hunger, right,
- 32:02Speaker 2: but like it didn't make it sound like always gonna
- 32:05Speaker 2: eat the baby. Yeah weird, you know.
- 32:08Speaker 1: And so that's really just not all very clear, and
- 32:11Speaker 1: I have a ton more questions around that. But now
- 32:14Speaker 1: Galactus apparently is you know, millions of light years away,
- 32:17Speaker 1: so they've essentially gotten rid of him. I doubt we
- 32:20Speaker 1: see him again in the MCU.
- 32:21Speaker 2: No, No, I actually I disagree. I think I think
- 32:25Speaker 2: we do see Galactus again at some point, maybe even
- 32:28Speaker 2: in Secret Wars. I'm actually counting on that. Glacys is
- 32:33Speaker 2: like too iconic of a character to like ever get
- 32:36Speaker 2: rid of. You never get rid of Galactus, Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 1: But he's like too powerful to keep around too long?
- 32:42Speaker 2: Well true, But like what what I enjoy about like
- 32:44Speaker 2: Galactus is like his relationship with Reid Richard's which like
- 32:48Speaker 2: we didn't get to see that unfold really in this movie.
- 32:50Speaker 2: It was neat that we got to see them talk.
- 32:51Speaker 2: But Galactus respects the heck at a read in the
- 32:56Speaker 2: sources material and he like even calls him out, is
- 32:59Speaker 2: like you are the smartest man in like the universe,
- 33:01Speaker 2: and like they actually have like a pretty decent relationship,
- 33:04Speaker 2: which is fun and interesting to watch them talk in stories. Right,
- 33:09Speaker 2: So I think that that's something to do that right, right, Like,
- 33:12Speaker 2: I think that's something we could see down the road.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Is Galactus said, we you know, establish some sort of
- 33:19Speaker 2: like emotional Catharsis together.
- 33:21Speaker 1: The only way. Well, then if that is going to happen,
- 33:23Speaker 1: it's going to be because Franklin has the powers to
- 33:27Speaker 1: make Galactus not hungry, in which case then Galactus won't
- 33:30Speaker 1: want to destroy everything.
- 33:31Speaker 2: So I agree with this.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Franklin just needs to be older, which we're trending in
- 33:35Speaker 1: that direction because like we picked up four years later
- 33:37Speaker 1: in the after credit to Yeah, so maybe maybe that's
- 33:39Speaker 1: where we're heading.
- 33:40Speaker 2: So so I think I think you're hitting the nail
- 33:42Speaker 2: on the head here again. You're just you're just swinging
- 33:45Speaker 2: and hitting baby. So there there are two different comic
- 33:48Speaker 2: storylines that I'm going to reference here for Galactus. Uh.
- 33:52Speaker 2: One UH is a reference to where Franklin actually like
- 33:56Speaker 2: we get to see Franklin at full power as an adult,
- 34:00Speaker 2: and like he makes Galactus like his Herald, so like
- 34:04Speaker 2: he makes Galactus like his Silver Surfer, which is freaking awesome.
- 34:09Speaker 2: And there's another comic series by al Ewing. It's called
- 34:12Speaker 2: The Ultimates. The Fantastic Four are not featured in this comic,
- 34:15Speaker 2: but we get kind of like a universal like Avengers,
- 34:18Speaker 2: with heroes established from Earth, including Captain Marvel, and their
- 34:22Speaker 2: whole thing is a very read Richard's thing, which is
- 34:24Speaker 2: to solve all the problems without violence. Like that's that's
- 34:28Speaker 2: what they're trying to do. And like the first problem
- 34:30Speaker 2: they tackle is let's do something about Galactus's hunger, and
- 34:35Speaker 2: they're able to like transform Galactus into instead of the
- 34:39Speaker 2: World Devourer, into Galactus the life Bringer, so like the
- 34:43Speaker 2: exact opposite of him, where like he's like creating new life,
- 34:46Speaker 2: creating new planets right through like a series of like
- 34:50Speaker 2: science magic that they do. Right. I could absolutely see
- 34:55Speaker 2: that being a future plot line in the MCU with
- 34:58Speaker 2: Franklin Richards at some point should they bring Galactus in,
- 35:01Speaker 2: and like they're gonna, like they're keeping Galactus in their
- 35:04Speaker 2: back pocket, They're gonna do it. They they freaking love
- 35:07Speaker 2: Galactus they know nerds love Galactus, Like, all right, they're
- 35:09Speaker 2: gonna do it again.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I love the theory, I love it excellent. What uh
- 35:14Speaker 1: what else you got? I think my notes are clear.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I just have one, Yeah, just one quick note. It's
- 35:21Speaker 2: it's something that you said at the very beginning where
- 35:24Speaker 2: it was gonna be impossible not to compare this movie
- 35:27Speaker 2: to Superman just because of like the timing and how
- 35:30Speaker 2: awesome Superman felt. And you're right. I think this movie
- 35:35Speaker 2: suffered from also one other disadvantage. And I don't know how
- 35:39Speaker 2: many people felt this way, because I don't know how
- 35:40Speaker 2: many people saw this movie. Thunderbolts honestly was like for me,
- 35:47Speaker 2: a much better film, agree, And I was also comparing
- 35:51Speaker 2: it to that, and like to me, I was like, Okay,
- 35:54Speaker 2: the stakes are high because like Thunderbolts actually surprise the
- 35:57Speaker 2: heck atomy as to how good it was. Yeah, so
- 36:00Speaker 2: like the bars at least there, you know, which I
- 36:04Speaker 2: don't think it cleared. Unfortunately, I felt connected to those
- 36:08Speaker 2: characters way more, was way more interested in their story.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yep, I agree with you. Thunderbolts was definitely better. I mean,
- 36:15Speaker 1: we do have a lot more time with most of
- 36:17Speaker 1: those characters in Thunderbolts from TV shows and other films,
- 36:20Speaker 1: So that makes it a little bit of sense. But
- 36:21Speaker 1: they definitely could have done a better job getting letting
- 36:25Speaker 1: us know, like these particular New Fantastic Four characters great
- 36:30Speaker 1: and at the beginning instead of the backstory.
- 36:32Speaker 2: But you know what, you know what it comes down to,
- 36:35Speaker 2: and I'm kind of surprised that this doesn't exist. I
- 36:39Speaker 2: can't remember if it's Josh Whedon or Kevin Feige, but
- 36:42Speaker 2: somewhere in like the early phases of Marvel, one of
- 36:44Speaker 2: these two, I think it's Fikey. They mentioned that something
- 36:48Speaker 2: that was really important for them to have in like
- 36:51Speaker 2: the storytelling of these Marvel characters is to have like
- 36:54Speaker 2: a campfire scene, a scene in a movie where the
- 36:58Speaker 2: characters are just sitting down the plot's not really happening
- 37:00Speaker 2: at the moment, and they're just talking, right, They're just
- 37:03Speaker 2: like saying how they feel about things. We get to
- 37:06Speaker 2: watch like their dynamics together. It's like a moment where
- 37:08Speaker 2: we get to sit down at the campfire with the
- 37:10Speaker 2: characters and just bond with them. A perfect example is
- 37:14Speaker 2: the after party scene in Age of Ultron where they're
- 37:17Speaker 2: all trying to lift Thor's hammer. That's a great scene.
- 37:19Speaker 2: No matter how you feel about that movie. That seems awesome.
- 37:22Speaker 2: It sets up it actually sets up things later in
- 37:25Speaker 2: the future of the MCU. It's fun. We get to
- 37:28Speaker 2: watch the characters like interact with each other and see
- 37:31Speaker 2: like what their relationships are. Right. There is no campfire
- 37:34Speaker 2: scene in Fantastic Four, right, which it feels like this
- 37:38Speaker 2: movie is like it really needs one, you know it does.
- 37:43Speaker 1: That's a great point. Definitely missing the campfire scene that
- 37:47Speaker 1: would have solved the things that are the issues we're
- 37:50Speaker 1: talking about, for sure.
- 37:51Speaker 2: I think so too so.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Awesome man. Scores you want to do scores?
- 37:58Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, all right you first, Okay, you know what,
- 38:04Speaker 2: for the sake of theming, I give it a four.
- 38:10Speaker 2: I don't think it's a bad movie. I think like
- 38:13Speaker 2: my criticisms come from the fact that my expectations were
- 38:15Speaker 2: super high. Yeah, it's it's it's easily like the you
- 38:20Speaker 2: know we've said before, easily the best Fantastic four movie.
- 38:23Speaker 2: I think like it clears the bar of average Marvel movie, right, Like,
- 38:27Speaker 2: it's definitely ahead of that. Maybe four is a little
- 38:31Speaker 2: too high, but I'm gonna stick with it just for
- 38:33Speaker 2: the theming.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd love to join you in the theming. I'm
- 38:38Speaker 1: gonna go three point eight.
- 38:39Speaker 2: You know, That's what I wanted to give it, but
- 38:41Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I'll just round up.
- 38:42Speaker 1: It's just a three point five, and I honestly I'm
- 38:46Speaker 1: gonna have to watch it again. I probably I think
- 38:50Speaker 1: I'll like it better the second time. But yeah, really
- 38:54Speaker 1: nothing else to say other than really hard to kind
- 38:58Speaker 1: of introduce a new world, a new or new characters
- 39:03Speaker 1: and then also give us like a clip at the
- 39:05Speaker 1: end of like who are our next? Big Bat's supposed
- 39:07Speaker 1: to be not an easy feat and so overall enjoyable film,
- 39:11Speaker 1: but free pointing let us know what you guys think
