- 0:00What if the biggest thing standing between you and an extraordinary life is
- 0:04not your circumstances? What if it's that you've never
- 0:07allowed yourself to dream big enough?
- 0:11Welcome to the Revolution of Purpose podcast. I'm your host,
- 0:14John Streit, and each week we bring you conversations with thought leaders,
- 0:18entrepreneurs, and individuals who have aligned their life
- 0:22with purpose and created extraordinary results. So I'm going to live through it and accept
- 0:27it radically with grace and hope and love. I mean,
- 0:30I would be proud to be in this household It was an honor. I had
- 0:32so much fun. Tune in every Monday for the Revolution of Purpose solo show and
- 0:37every Thursday for Revolution of Purpose Conversations.
- 0:40Welcome back to another episode of Revolution of Purpose. This week
- 0:44was a pretty special week for me because something I've been envisioning
- 0:48and creating finally came to life. I launched a
- 0:51brand new coaching experience. It's the first live Apex
- 0:55experience that I've had. And Apex is really built around a
- 1:00question that I have been obsessed with lately. What becomes possible
- 1:04when we stop allowing our current identity to determine
- 1:08the size of our future? Because here's what I've noticed: most people don't
- 1:12actually dream from the limitless possibilities of what their life could
- 1:16become. We dream from what we already know. We look at
- 1:20our current income or our current career, our current business and education.
- 1:25We look at our relationships the way they are right now, our our past successes
- 1:29and failures. We look at what we've accomplished before, and then we
- 1:33ask, okay, based on all of that that's happened so
- 1:37far, what is realistic for me next?
- 1:41But what if that's the wrong question? Because all of these
- 1:44things can tell you where you are today, and they can tell you where
- 1:48you were yesterday, but they cannot tell you who
- 1:52you are capable of becoming. One of my favorite moments from
- 1:56our first Apex session this week happened while I was listening to
- 1:59someone who is already a very successful entrepreneur, or at least
- 2:03very successful by most people's matrix. You know, this person
- 2:07is doing very well. And this isn't someone saying, my life is falling
- 2:11apart, how do I fix it? It's actually quite the opposite.
- 2:14And that's what made the moment so powerful to me. I could see this
- 2:18realization happening that there was so much more
- 2:21available. They knew that they had bigger dreams. They knew they
- 2:25had bigger possibilities. And also they knew that limiting beliefs
- 2:30had gone unchallenged because the current level of success that
- 2:34they found themselves was evidence of what they thought was possible.
- 2:38Think about that. Sometimes the greatest limitation in
- 2:42our life is not failure. It's actually the level of success that we're
- 2:46currently at. Because you create something successful and then eventually that level
- 2:50becomes your new normal. You know, you begin identifying
- 2:53with it. This is who I am. This is what I earn. This is the
- 2:57size of the business that I run. This is the level that I operate.
- 3:00And without realizing it, yesterday's accomplishments becomes
- 3:05today's ceiling. That's one of the things that I love about the
- 3:08group going through Apex right now. There are business owners,
- 3:12there are entrepreneurs, real estate investors, real estate brokers,
- 3:16people from different backgrounds who are already creating things with
- 3:19their lives. They're not coming together because they've decided that they're
- 3:23failures. They're coming together because they've decided,
- 3:26I'm not finished. I'm not done creating. There is more in
- 3:30me. There's more that I can become. There is more that I can contribute.
- 3:34And I don't want what I've already accomplished to determine what
- 3:38I believe I can accomplish next. And there's something else that's
- 3:42happening that I think is incredibly important. They're getting in a room
- 3:46with other people who think that same way. I believe that the
- 3:49rooms we put ourselves in matter because if you're constantly
- 3:53surrounded by conversations about why something won't work or
- 3:57why it's unrealistic or why you should be satisfied or
- 4:00why you shouldn't take the risk, eventually that becomes
- 4:04your new normal. But something changes when you get into a room
- 4:08where people are asking different questions. What if it
- 4:11is possible? What would you create if you weren't afraid?
- 4:15What limiting belief would you have to release? Who would
- 4:19you have to become? What would you dream if you stopped
- 4:23worrying about how you were going to accomplish it? Suddenly that
- 4:27energy shifts. Possibility becomes normal. Growth becomes
- 4:31normal. Dreaming bigger becomes normal. And sometimes
- 4:35you need to borrow the belief of the room until you develop enough belief
- 4:39of your own. There was another realization during our first Apex
- 4:43session that I haven't stopped thinking about. There was someone else who realized that
- 4:48maybe the reason they weren't growing wasn't because they weren't capable of
- 4:52more. They just hadn't awakened to, to it even
- 4:56being possible to grow. Like, that's a huge distinction when you think about
- 4:59it. You, you can't intentionally create a reality that you don't yet
- 5:04believe exists for you. That you don't believe is even possible,
- 5:07if your identity says, this is who I am, then your mind
- 5:11begins filtering possibility through that identity.
- 5:15That's why the first stage of something that I've developed called the Law of Identity
- 5:19Transformation is awaken. You know, this full Law of Identity Transformation,
- 5:23you definitely need to check out. There's an episode where I talk just about this,
- 5:26but that process is this: it's awaken,
- 5:29become, align, and create. And I'm
- 5:33not going to teach the entire framework today because I have talked about it before,
- 5:36but I want you to understand why awaken comes first in
- 5:40this law. Before you can become something greater, you first
- 5:45have to awaken to the possibility that something greater exists. And I believe
- 5:49that we are tapped into something so much bigger than the limitations we've
- 5:52created in our own minds. We are tapped into limitless
- 5:56consciousness, limitless abundance, limitless possibility.
- 6:00The question isn't simply, what can I accomplish from where I am?
- 6:04A much more powerful question is this: what could become possible
- 6:09if I stopped using who I've been as the measuring stick
- 6:13for who I can become? And this brings me to something that we've
- 6:17talked about during Apex, and I want to share this teaching with you as well.
- 6:21It's the concept of A, B, and C-level
- 6:25goals. And I want to specifically give credit here to Bob Proctor, the great
- 6:29mindset coach, because this is a concept that I learned
- 6:32through Bob teachings. I recently completed the Bob Proctor Legacy Blueprint,
- 6:37which was a year-long deep dive into his work. And this particular teaching
- 6:41has really impacted the way that I think about goals.
- 6:44Bob taught that there are essentially 3 levels of
- 6:47goals. There's an A-level goal, and this is something
- 6:51that you already know how to do. Like you have accomplished this goal before.
- 6:55Maybe you sold $500,000 in business last
- 6:58year. And so your goal is to do $500,000 again. That's a
- 7:02goal, but it doesn't require you to become someone different.
- 7:06You already know how to do that goal. Please pardon
- 7:09this interruption to your podcast episode. This will not take but a minute. Before we
- 7:13continue, I want to ask you something. Do you know that you're capable of more,
- 7:16but your life right now just isn't fully reflecting the person
- 7:20you know you can become? Then I want to personally invite you to
- 7:24schedule a Shift Mindset call with me. This Shift Mindset
- 7:27experience is something that I created to help you identify
- 7:31one decision that you can make that will shift your life.
- 7:34And when I say that this is a call with me, I mean exactly that.
- 7:38This is a live one-on-one personal call between
- 7:42you and I. This is not prerecorded. This is not a member of my team.
- 7:47It is you and I having a real coaching conversation about your life,
- 7:50and it does not cost you any money. It is a 45-minute
- 7:54exchange of time. I'll give you 30 minutes of my best mindset coaching
- 7:57to help you identify a decision that will create a real shift in
- 8:01your life. And in exchange, I just ask that you give me about 15 minutes
- 8:05to show you the coaching experiences that I offer. There's no obligation,
- 8:09but there is an opportunity to create a meaningful shift
- 8:12in your life just from this call. You can schedule yours today at
- 8:16johnstreet.org. Just click on the button that says schedule
- 8:20your shift call. And also, if this podcast is helping you,
- 8:23please subscribe. Please like and please share it. Every time
- 8:27you do that, every time you engage, you are helping to spread this message
- 8:31and inspire someone else to create their best life through also
- 8:35living their own revolution of purpose. Now let's get you back
- 8:39to the Revolution of Purpose podcast. A B-level goal,
- 8:42however, is something that you've not necessarily done yet, but you
- 8:46can see how it's possible. You can see yourself accomplishing it.
- 8:50If I do this, then this, then this, I will get there.
- 8:53It stretches you, but you can basically see the roadmap.
- 8:57And then there's the C-level goal. The C-level
- 9:02goal. This is one that I really love because a C-level
- 9:05goal is something that you genuinely want, but you don't
- 9:09know how you're going to accomplish yet. It excites you. It may
- 9:13scare you a little. It may scare you a lot. And if you tell the
- 9:17wrong person about it, they may even tell you that you're crazy. But here's what
- 9:21I think is so powerful about C-level goals. If you already knew
- 9:25exactly how to achieve it, it wouldn't require you to become someone new.
- 9:30It wouldn't require that identity transformation that we talk
- 9:33about. And that's how I want to connect this idea with the work
- 9:37that we've been talking on this podcast about identity. Your C-level goal
- 9:41isn't only asking you to accomplish something bigger, it's asking
- 9:45you to become someone bigger. So let me practice
- 9:49what I preach, and I'm going to tell you one of my C-level goals.
- 9:52I know this is going to sound big, but it's meant to.
- 9:56One of my C-level goals is for John Street Global, my umbrella
- 10:00company that's over everything from speaking, the podcast,
- 10:03books, and coaching, all of it. I want John
- 10:07Street Global to become a truly worldwide recognized
- 10:10brand. I'm fortunate that I've gotten to speak on stages
- 10:14already that are in other countries, and I have some coaching clients in other countries
- 10:18outside of the United States where I'm based, but I want it to truly be
- 10:21a worldwide recognized brand.
- 10:25And recently something happened that helped me see that vision differently.
- 10:28Here in Birmingham, Alabama, we have an arena downtown.
- 10:32It's a sports arena and it's called the Legacy Arena. I saw
- 10:36an article about the naming rights for the arena and something
- 10:40in my mind just went, hmm, what if someday that
- 10:44was named The John Street Global Arena.
- 10:47Right now it's named for Legacy Credit Union, a local credit union,
- 10:50and I think they pay around $500,000 a year for the
- 10:54naming rights from what I read. But listen to this: I don't currently
- 10:57have a plan sitting on my desk that shows me exactly how John Street
- 11:02Global buys the naming rights to a major arena,
- 11:05and that's kind of the point. So I let myself go there.
- 11:09I even went into ChatGPT and created an image of the arena
- 11:13with John Street Global as the name across And seeing
- 11:17that image just did something for me. It helped it become real because
- 11:22suddenly I realized this arena wasn't really the dream,
- 11:26but it was a symbol of the dream. It represented the scale.
- 11:31What would John Street Global have to become for something
- 11:34like that to even become possible? How many people would be
- 11:38impacted? How many countries would I be reaching? What if we
- 11:41were coaching people around the world to bust through limiting beliefs and
- 11:46achieve their dreams that they once thought were impossible?
- 11:49What if I were speaking to audiences around the world about purpose and
- 11:53identity and possibility? And then the vision
- 11:58started to get bigger. It started to grow on its own. And I started thinking,
- 12:01what if that success helped create and fund
- 12:05a John Street Global Foundation? What if we could take
- 12:09these mindset tools to people who may never have access
- 12:13to coaching? What if we could work alongside organizations that are already
- 12:16serving people who are struggling? What if we could help connect people
- 12:20with those resources? What if we could financially support agencies
- 12:25already doing extraordinary work in cities and communities
- 12:29around the world? Now we're not just talking about an arena.
- 12:33We're talking about an impact. We're talking about people's lives.
- 12:37We're talking about myself living my dharma and letting
- 12:41that light grow and grow and grow until it is worldwide.
- 12:45Impacting families, impacting communities, impacting generations.
- 12:49And do I know exactly how all this is going to happen?
- 12:52Absolutely not. And that's why it is a C-level
- 12:57goal, because this is something that I really want you to hear.
- 13:00Dreaming bigger isn't only about what you get.
- 13:04It's about what your expansion allows you to give.
- 13:08Sometimes I think we make dreaming big sound selfish.
- 13:11Well, I don't need that much and I should just be grateful
- 13:15for what I have. Or why do I need a bigger business? Why would I
- 13:18need more money? Why do I need more influence? And yes, gratitude,
- 13:22incredibly important. And you know me, I teach gratitude,
- 13:26but gratitude and expansion are not opposite things.
- 13:30You can be profoundly grateful for where you are and
- 13:33still believe that there is more for you to become.
- 13:37Because what if your expansion isn't just about you?
- 13:40My friends, what happens to your family when you expand? What opportunities
- 13:44can you create for your children? Who can your business
- 13:48employ? Who can your resources help? What organizations
- 13:52could you support as you expand? Whose life
- 13:56could be different because you stopped apologizing
- 13:59for dreaming big? What if playing small is not
- 14:03humility at all? What if the fullest expression of your purpose
- 14:07actually requires you to expand. So here's what I
- 14:11want you to do after this episode. I want you to ask yourself,
- 14:15what dream have I talked myself out of because
- 14:19I couldn't figure out how? Don't start with the how, start with the
- 14:23dream. If you knew that you couldn't fail, what would you
- 14:26create? If money weren't the limitation, what would you do?
- 14:30If your past was not allowed to vote on your future,
- 14:34What would you choose? If nobody was going to laugh at your dream or tell
- 14:38you it was unrealistic, how big would you allow yourself
- 14:42to think? And probably the most important question, who would
- 14:46you have to become to create that reality where
- 14:50that dream is tangible and you're living it every day?
- 14:53Because your inability to see the entire path is not the evidence
- 14:57that that dream is impossible. It might be the evidence that you finally found
- 15:01a dream big enough to require your transformation.
- 15:04And if something about today's episode is stirring something inside
- 15:09of you, something about wanting to transform, transform,
- 15:12if you're thinking, John, I know there's more for me,
- 15:15I just don't know exactly what more looks like yet, then I want
- 15:19to personally invite you to take the next step. I know earlier in
- 15:23the broadcast you heard me talk about the complimentary Shift Coaching Experience,
- 15:27unless you skipped the ad, and I don't blame you if you do. I skip
- 15:30ads when I listen to podcasts as well. But I want you to take me
- 15:34up on this. So this Shift coaching experience that I offer you
- 15:39is not just an opportunity for me to tell you about coaching. I am actually
- 15:42going to coach you. We get together on a Zoom call and we
- 15:47look at where you are, where you really want to go, and what may
- 15:51need to shift in your thinking to begin moving toward that bigger
- 15:55dream. And now there's another reason that I, I want you to schedule your Shift,
- 15:58because if you've listened today and you're thinking, I want to experience something like
- 16:02Apex. I'll also tell you about the next Apex experience
- 16:06that I'm putting together and how you may become a part of it if that's
- 16:10what you feel led to do. So reach out to me. You can reach out
- 16:13to me on social media, of course, on Instagram @johnstreetofficial,
- 16:18TikTok @johnstreetofficial. You can email directly at john@johnstreet.org
- 16:23and just say, John, I want to shift, and then I'll take it
- 16:27from there. We'll get you that shift call scheduled. This is a complimentary coaching
- 16:31call. All I ask is that in exchange for me coaching you,
- 16:34let me tell you about this amazing Apex Coaching experience that I've
- 16:38launched. Because there may be a version of you that you haven't even
- 16:42allowed yourself to imagine yet. Don't let the success that you've
- 16:45already created become the ceiling for the success that's still
- 16:49waiting to be created. Awaken to what's possible,
- 16:54my friends. Give yourself permission to dream at a level
- 16:58where you don't know all the answers. Start becoming
- 17:01the person who is capable of creating dreams like
- 17:05that. That is what transformation is, and it's where it begins.
- 17:09And that is what it means to live at the apex of what
- 17:13is possible for your life. Thank you as always for joining me here on
- 17:17another episode of the Revolution of Purpose podcast. And until next
