Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to Almost Famous. It's Ben today. And I
- 0:10Speaker 2: get to recap the latest episode of Ultimate Girls Trip
- 0:15Speaker 2: with an iconic New York housewife. I get to break
- 0:19Speaker 2: it all down with the real housewives of New York
- 0:22Speaker 2: and star of the upcoming series, The Golden Life, with
- 0:27Speaker 2: Kelly Clark. Ben Simone. Hello.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Hello, Ben.
- 0:33Speaker 2: How are you?
- 0:34Speaker 4: Phew.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Ah, this is so fun.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Happy summer.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Happy summer. You know, I've been doing this with Ashley's sister, Lauren,
- 0:41Speaker 2: and we've had a blast. I'm learning a lot along
- 0:43Speaker 2: the way. You know, I think the brilliance of breaking
- 0:47Speaker 2: down all this housewife stuff when it comes to Almost
- 0:50Speaker 2: Famous is I really am learning everything along the way.
- 0:54Speaker 2: And then I get to bring in experts like yourself.
- 0:57Speaker 2: to help it make sense to me because a lot
- 0:59Speaker 2: of times it doesn't without some help.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Well, sometimes it doesn't make sense to me too. So
- 1:04Speaker 5: both in the same, but I'm, and I filmed the shows.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Speaking of filming the show, you have been on a
- 1:10Speaker 2: previous season of ultimate girls trip. We were watching this season.
- 1:16Speaker 2: It's my first time seeing it. I'm getting to understand
- 1:19Speaker 2: the characters. Obviously this is a big season because it's,
- 1:22Speaker 2: you know, the 20th reunion and, But what is it
- 1:25Speaker 2: like filming one of these experiences behind the scenes?
- 1:29Speaker 5: So the only ultimate girls trip that I've done was
- 1:31Speaker 5: with the OGs. It was really our old cast, the original.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Housewives from New York.
- 1:39Speaker 5: But we had Dorinda and Kristen Tape and who came
- 1:42Speaker 5: on later on the.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Show, which was really fun.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Being on these ultimate girls trip, what's so great is
- 1:51Speaker 5: that you're under such a microscope.
- 1:54Speaker 3: It's typically seven days. You go someplace.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Iconic and you are literally just all over each other
- 2:02Speaker 5: all day long. And it's really so much fun. It's
- 2:07Speaker 5: super heartbreaking. You know, you just learn so much about
- 2:11Speaker 5: people in a really, really short period of time. People
- 2:14Speaker 5: that you thought that you knew and you're, you know,
- 2:17Speaker 5: catching up with them on their, you know, where they
- 2:18Speaker 5: are now.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And it's really, it's great. It was so much fun.
- 2:22Speaker 2: The interesting part, and again, I am new to this,
- 2:26Speaker 2: we were seeing it this season where people who maybe
- 2:29Speaker 2: have like some type of drama between them run into
- 2:33Speaker 2: each other on this girl's trip. And then there, we
- 2:35Speaker 2: see them during this episode too, but they're in a
- 2:38Speaker 2: way either given the opportunity or enforced to confront whatever
- 2:43Speaker 2: bass baggage and stuff they have between them. Is that
- 2:47Speaker 2: common for each, you know, road trip?
- 2:51Speaker 3: I love the idea of a road trip, honestly.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Well, It's the only thing I can think of. It's
- 2:56Speaker 2: an ultimate girls trip, but they've just been traveling all
- 2:58Speaker 2: over the place.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I really like a road trip. That would be amazing.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I think that would cause more issues.
- 3:03Speaker 5: So this ultimate girls trip is, you know, the 20th anniversary.
- 3:09Speaker 3: It's two weeks long. They're going from, you know, the OC,
- 3:13Speaker 3: Beverly Hills, Atlanta, New York.
- 3:16Speaker 5: They're, you know, traveling all over the place and meeting
- 3:19Speaker 5: all of the other housewives along the way. One of
- 3:23Speaker 5: the reasons that the dynamic of the franchise works so
- 3:27Speaker 5: well is because, you know, I think people like to
- 3:30Speaker 5: say that they, that the networks pit each other against
- 3:34Speaker 5: each other. That's not true. What happens is not about
- 3:37Speaker 5: the pitting. It's about being almost famous. So get this
- 3:43Speaker 5: moment where someone's like at a Starbucks and says, hey, X, hi, Y.
- 3:51Speaker 5: And they're all of a sudden like, whoa, I'm famous.
- 3:54Speaker 5: I'm the coolest girl in school. And they bring it
- 3:57Speaker 5: back to camera life. And it is hilarious, right?
- 4:01Speaker 3: I just don't know. I mean, so does I'm like,
- 4:03Speaker 3: what is going on here?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Well, if you were, I mean, because drama has been
- 4:08Speaker 2: at the center of so much of the housewives that
- 4:10Speaker 2: I saw. And then obviously the ultimate girls trip. I
- 4:16Speaker 2: want you if you can. And this is all should
- 4:21Speaker 2: be out of love. Like these are people hopefully you enjoy.
- 4:24Speaker 2: If you were to have, let's, let's go back to
- 4:26Speaker 2: the road trip theme. You're in a van. You got
- 4:30Speaker 2: three open spots. Who would you most want for like
- 4:34Speaker 2: the enjoyability factor? And then if you could also share
- 4:39Speaker 2: a second van that you'd be in mostly to be
- 4:42Speaker 2: entertained by the drama that could unfold.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Oh my God. Well, I love Sonia.
- 4:50Speaker 5: I need more seats. Like three isn't enough. I love
- 4:56Speaker 5: Sonia Morgan, love Ramona Singer. I love Melissa Gorga. Sutton
- 5:01Speaker 5: and I have been friends for a long time. Portia
- 5:04Speaker 5: is just fantastic. NeNe Leakes and I have been friends
- 5:07Speaker 5: for a long time. So it's hard because there's a
- 5:11Speaker 5: lot of these women that I really, really like. And
- 5:14Speaker 5: we get along so well. When I went to BravoCon,
- 5:16Speaker 5: I was like, this is my Super Bowl. I get
- 5:20Speaker 5: to hang out with all these women. We were talking
- 5:23Speaker 5: and chatting and telling each other about our lives.
- 5:26Speaker 3: And.
- 5:28Speaker 5: It's hard, I can't say the two because as much,
- 5:32Speaker 5: it's like with women, Ben, when we're together and we're
- 5:38Speaker 5: talking about things and we're telling these secrets and stuff
- 5:43Speaker 5: like that and things that we don't want anyone to know,
- 5:46Speaker 5: there's always one person who's like, tell someone else. And
- 5:51Speaker 5: you're like, I just told you this really deep secret.
- 5:54Speaker 5: And to the millions of viewers, there's always that one person.
- 5:58Speaker 5: So you can't, like women just cannot help themselves. And
- 6:02Speaker 5: that's what makes it so fun. I can't help myself.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Sometimes I'm like, oh my God, what did I just say?
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, that's, and that's funny with housewives because they
- 6:14Speaker 2: can't help themselves. It just, it's, They get a little
- 6:18Speaker 2: bit of a flicker of flame, and that thing will
- 6:21Speaker 2: take off to be a massive fire just because they
- 6:25Speaker 2: love to chat. And sometimes I think they're doing it
- 6:30Speaker 2: with the best of intentions, but it never goes well. Now,
- 6:35Speaker 2: you mentioned Portia, and you mentioned Nina Leakes, these incredible
- 6:39Speaker 2: people that aren't housewives out of New York. So do
- 6:43Speaker 2: you meet them? When you say you've been friends for
- 6:44Speaker 2: a while, are these all people you've met through being
- 6:48Speaker 2: a housewife?
- 6:49Speaker 5: So the executive producer that did my first season of Housewives,
- 6:53Speaker 5: he also did New Jersey. And not New Jersey, sorry, Atlanta.
- 6:57Speaker 5: And so when I was in Atlanta for an appearance
- 7:00Speaker 5: for something else, for modeling, they were all there and
- 7:03Speaker 5: they were like, let's have drinks.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And I met NeNe and she was like, girl, I'm
- 7:07Speaker 3: up here, you're down there.
- 7:08Speaker 5: And like literally she hugged me and it was like
- 7:11Speaker 5: the most warm moment hug and she just really you
- 7:15Speaker 5: know was always really embraced me and was you know always.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Cheering me on um and.
- 7:21Speaker 5: It's just really for me it's been just such a
- 7:24Speaker 5: beautiful experience because i do get to meet so many
- 7:26Speaker 5: different people from so many different walks of life you
- 7:29Speaker 5: know i always like laughed with nini because i would
- 7:32Speaker 5: like you know try to squat and i'm like i
- 7:33Speaker 5: need help getting up and she's like you are not
- 7:35Speaker 5: a stripper i'm like confirmed.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So it's just like fun. You know, I mean, at
- 7:42Speaker 3: least I'm always having a good time.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I think it's the best way to do this. And
- 7:46Speaker 2: speaking of not having a good time, we've seen through
- 7:49Speaker 2: this whole season so far. Now, to set the stage
- 7:52Speaker 2: a little bit, we're going to dive into the episode.
- 7:54Speaker 2: We are going to Atlanta, which was teased in the
- 7:57Speaker 2: most perfect way. Portia is taking over. This is her city.
- 8:02Speaker 2: They're going to go to a drag brunch and an
- 8:04Speaker 2: alter ego party. We saw at the end of the
- 8:07Speaker 2: last episode, Luanne and Vicky kind of have a confrontation,
- 8:11Speaker 2: as we've been kind of hinting at. You've mentioned how
- 8:14Speaker 2: much fun you like to have specifically. It does seem
- 8:19Speaker 2: to be, to me at least, that Vicky is not
- 8:22Speaker 2: having a good time on this Ultimate Girls trip. That
- 8:25Speaker 2: she doesn't really want to be there. And she's made
- 8:27Speaker 2: it pretty clear, I think, to everybody that this isn't
- 8:30Speaker 2: her thing. Can you give a little bit of an
- 8:34Speaker 2: insight into maybe why she's feeling the way she is
- 8:37Speaker 2: and what about that experience specifically could be or could
- 8:42Speaker 2: feel like a drag on somebody's life?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Sure.
- 8:46Speaker 5: I mean, first of all, I've known Vicky. She's known my,
- 8:49Speaker 5: she knew my parents. I'm from Rockford, Illinois, and she
- 8:52Speaker 5: knew my parents, which was so, so much fun.
- 8:55Speaker 3: She's a very, very nice girl. Very serious. She's been
- 8:58Speaker 3: on the show forever.
- 8:58Speaker 5: She, you know, talks so much about her past and like,
- 9:03Speaker 5: the regrets that she had about getting divorced from her
- 9:05Speaker 5: husband and just, she's been through so much because she
- 9:08Speaker 5: is the original icon of housewives. And I think that,
- 9:14Speaker 5: you know, now she's like selling her, you know, she's selling,
- 9:19Speaker 5: what is she selling? She sells life insurance, insurance. And,
- 9:23Speaker 5: you know, that's a transaction business and it's not exactly easy.
- 9:26Speaker 5: And she was doing work while she was there. And
- 9:29Speaker 5: I kind of liked that she held her own. I
- 9:33Speaker 5: kind of like that she wasn't just like, she's like, oh,
- 9:36Speaker 5: I'm going to hang out with you guys and I'll
- 9:37Speaker 5: be here.
- 9:38Speaker 3: But sometimes I just can't. And I really love that boundary.
- 9:41Speaker 5: You know, I work a lot too, but when I'm
- 9:44Speaker 5: with my friends, I mean, I just let my hair
- 9:46Speaker 5: down and I just like, you know, make sand angels
- 9:49Speaker 5: and just like poke fun at people and just like
- 9:52Speaker 5: blurt out funny things and just have the best time
- 9:54Speaker 5: because I'm with my friends. And I think that I
- 9:57Speaker 5: would like to have seen her a little bit more
- 9:58Speaker 5: playful sometimes. but at the time that's where she is
- 10:02Speaker 5: in her life, she wants to work and she's showing
- 10:04Speaker 5: that that's what she's doing. There's nothing wrong with that either.
- 10:06Speaker 2: You know, and you never know. I think this is
- 10:10Speaker 2: a scenario where you're quick to judge And it doesn't
- 10:14Speaker 2: come off great to the audience because they're like, hey,
- 10:17Speaker 2: this is a show we're tuning into and you act
- 10:19Speaker 2: like you don't even want to be a part of it.
- 10:21Speaker 2: But we don't know leading up to this, when she
- 10:24Speaker 2: said yes to it and then leading up to it,
- 10:25Speaker 2: how much work got piled onto her, how many big
- 10:28Speaker 2: deals got piled onto her, maybe some troubles with the
- 10:30Speaker 2: business got. We don't know any of that. And so
- 10:33Speaker 2: it could just be really bad timing to then jump
- 10:36Speaker 2: in a car, a plane, a bus, all these things
- 10:40Speaker 2: and travel across the country. Atlanta is a spot that
- 10:45Speaker 2: so many people I know who are watching this show
- 10:48Speaker 2: were excited to see all the ladies go to. Atlanta
- 10:53Speaker 2: feels like a great time. I said it last week.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I used to work in Atlanta once every couple months.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Atlanta always seemed to be a good time, no matter
- 11:03Speaker 2: what you were doing. If it was just a great dinner,
- 11:05Speaker 2: if it was just meeting up with some friends, if
- 11:07Speaker 2: it was finding people, like a hole in the wall
- 11:10Speaker 2: bar to sit at. And like, all of a sudden
- 11:12Speaker 2: there's entertainment that you never could have imagined that would
- 11:15Speaker 2: pop into a hole in the wall bar. Like it's
- 11:17Speaker 2: just a fun city. And I think Portia really wants
- 11:20Speaker 2: to show this off. You mentioned your friend though, NeNe Leakes,
- 11:24Speaker 2: who is also from Atlanta and people were excited or surprised,
- 11:30Speaker 2: I would say, to see her. We got some information
- 11:34Speaker 2: that I was not familiar with. So I'm just going
- 11:35Speaker 2: to read it. And then we'll, if you can, maybe
- 11:38Speaker 2: expand on it.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Let's just, because those are like two separate things.
- 11:41Speaker 5: And I just want to quickly just like nod to
- 11:43Speaker 5: the Vicky portion. So one of the things too, is that, yes,
- 11:47Speaker 5: what you're talking about, the fan base, they want to see,
- 11:49Speaker 5: you know, all the women having fun and doing all
- 11:51Speaker 5: that confirmed. But also one thing that's very Housewives is,
- 11:56Speaker 5: is showing what you do, showing your work, whatever it is,
- 11:59Speaker 5: whether it's like a fashion brand that never launches, whether
- 12:02Speaker 5: that's a book that you're trying to write with a ghostwriter,
- 12:05Speaker 5: whatever it is, these women are constantly pushing it in
- 12:09Speaker 5: people's faces as to what they do for work.
- 12:11Speaker 3: I'm always like, I'm just here to have a good time.
- 12:14Speaker 3: I already work. I don't need help working. But that
- 12:18Speaker 3: is like a strong narrative.
- 12:20Speaker 5: So as a guy, you're like, wait a minute, why
- 12:24Speaker 5: isn't she at the party? But for the fans, they're like, oh,
- 12:28Speaker 5: that's one of the women. She's pushing her work. So
- 12:30Speaker 5: they kind of see that as well.
- 12:32Speaker 2: They get it?
- 12:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Everyone's in on it.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Does it seem like when somebody becomes a housewife, it's
- 12:40Speaker 2: taking the work that they had previously— in through the
- 12:43Speaker 2: show or is it a new platform to launch a
- 12:46Speaker 2: dream job or a dream product.
- 12:50Speaker 5: So it's a new platform but just because the optics
- 12:53Speaker 5: of everything are different so you know when you're on
- 12:57Speaker 5: it when you're on the screen ben like as you
- 13:00Speaker 5: know all of a sudden the lights just turn on
- 13:04Speaker 5: and the things that are possibilities for you that you
- 13:06Speaker 5: never even thought of or how people perceive you in
- 13:10Speaker 5: the businesses i think you would be good at all
- 13:11Speaker 5: of a sudden just take shape And these women are
- 13:14Speaker 5: taking advantage of it and they're showing the ladies. And,
- 13:18Speaker 5: you know, sometimes it lands well. I always say, like,
- 13:21Speaker 5: to my crew, I'm always like, you know, I have younger,
- 13:25Speaker 5: my kids are in their 20s.
- 13:26Speaker 3: And I'm like, you guys just don't know how things
- 13:29Speaker 3: land anymore. I'm like, that does not land well.
- 13:33Speaker 5: But it's a good, you know, it's a great platform
- 13:36Speaker 5: and a lot of fun. But again, a lot of
- 13:38Speaker 5: the women really, really like to show what they do
- 13:42Speaker 5: and how they do it.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Why not? I mean, it is fun when a new
- 13:45Speaker 2: platform is handed to you to make something of it.
- 13:47Speaker 2: That's kind of the dream, no matter what stage of
- 13:50Speaker 2: life you're in.
- 13:51Speaker 3: No harm, no foul. No, not at all.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 2: All right, let's dive into this NeNe Leakes thing, because
- 13:57Speaker 2: I was unfamiliar with it. I am going to read
- 13:59Speaker 2: it just for the sake of the breakdown of what happened,
- 14:02Speaker 2: and then we can go from there. The former Real
- 14:05Speaker 2: Housewife of Atlanta star previously filed a lawsuit in April
- 14:11Speaker 2: against Bravo, NBCUniversal network executives including Andy Cohen and other
- 14:18Speaker 2: related parties, which she has since dismissed in 2022. At
- 14:25Speaker 2: the time, Nene accused the defendants, including the production companies
- 14:29Speaker 2: True Entertainment and Truly Original, of violating federal employment regulations.
- 14:34Speaker 2: and anti-discrimination laws. When the lawsuit was initially filed, Gleeks
- 14:40Speaker 2: claimed that Bravo, NBCUniversal, and the True Production teams helped
- 14:44Speaker 2: foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially insensitive
- 14:50Speaker 2: and inappropriate behavior is tolerated, if not encouraged, and I quote.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Wow.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Well, we have calls with HR, so we don't really
- 15:00Speaker 5: have that.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 3: We don't really have that.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I haven't watched Atlanta, Real Housewives of Atlanta, from this
- 15:07Speaker 2: episode specifically. There are incredible characters in Atlanta, right? Just
- 15:12Speaker 2: like I've seen in Rhode Island. These women are leaders.
- 15:21Speaker 2: They're friends at times. They're not afraid of confrontation. Um,
- 15:27Speaker 2: and they're not afraid to have a great time. And
- 15:30Speaker 2: I'm assuming if you could educate me a little bit,
- 15:33Speaker 2: she was a massive part of the real housewives of Atlanta.
- 15:38Speaker 2: And that's why this kind of lawsuit came at such
- 15:41Speaker 2: a surprise to probably so many viewers and fans.
- 15:45Speaker 5: Well, I think just to kind of bring it back,
- 15:48Speaker 5: you know, the, these, these, this franchise started, I mean,
- 15:51Speaker 5: I started in 2009, the franchise started in the early
- 15:54Speaker 5: two thousands. And, The tolerance level in the early 2000s
- 15:59Speaker 5: to the tolerance level in 2026 is completely different.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Thank God. So I think where we, you know, where
- 16:07Speaker 3: we were, people were saying things and doing things that were,
- 16:11Speaker 3: today my kids would be like, that person is canceled. Like,
- 16:15Speaker 3: who is that person?
- 16:17Speaker 5: Back then it was, the people thought it was funny,
- 16:19Speaker 5: cool to be, you know, dismissive, disarming, whatever it was.
- 16:24Speaker 5: So I'm so glad that she's back, or just back
- 16:28Speaker 5: on our screens. And I'm sorry for, on behalf of
- 16:33Speaker 5: all housewives, I'm sorry if she ever felt anything that
- 16:37Speaker 5: harmed her or made her feel uncomfortable.
- 16:41Speaker 3: And for any housewife moving forward.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Wait, well, let me pause you there, though.
- 16:46Speaker 3: I think she's very cool. I think she's a very...
- 16:48Speaker 3: All I'm going to say about NeNe Leakes is that
- 16:52Speaker 3: she is... A pioneer. And with that comes a lot
- 16:58Speaker 3: of challenges. And it's not always easy to be the pioneer.
- 17:02Speaker 3: You're constantly being challenged. You're constantly being pushed away. I
- 17:07Speaker 3: don't know the details of what happened. I just know her.
- 17:10Speaker 3: And I also know the network. I'm just happy to
- 17:16Speaker 3: see her back. It shows a lot. It shows a lot.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and it does.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I do.
- 17:22Speaker 2: You did say, and I want some clarity on this,
- 17:26Speaker 2: because I watched Housewives and I thought a lot of
- 17:29Speaker 2: stuff was said and done that would make somebody feel uncomfortable.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I mean, Rhode Island felt like every episode there was
- 17:35Speaker 2: something new popping up that I was cringing about, like,
- 17:37Speaker 2: how can somebody sit in this moment? Obviously, my co-host
- 17:43Speaker 2: who is on that show is not somebody that loves confrontation.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And we saw so many moments where she sat there
- 17:50Speaker 2: and almost acted like she was just disappearing into her chair. Wow. So,
- 17:56Speaker 2: I mean, that's just a part of it, right? Like
- 18:00Speaker 2: the uncomfortability, the confrontation, the words getting said back and forth.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Isn't that what housewives is?
- 18:06Speaker 5: I mean, it is, but you know, you, you saw
- 18:09Speaker 5: Giselle in the car say, you know, I'm ready for it.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Whoever wants to start something with me, I'm ready for it.
- 18:15Speaker 5: I mean, you're kind of like, you're, you're like, you're
- 18:19Speaker 5: in the battlefield.
- 18:20Speaker 3: You know what I mean? You're like ready to go.
- 18:22Speaker 3: You're armed and ready. No matter what anybody says. I mean,
- 18:27Speaker 3: you know, I know who I am.
- 18:28Speaker 5: I know, you know, how I make money, how I
- 18:31Speaker 5: raise my children.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I know exactly who I am.
- 18:34Speaker 5: And I'm very open about all the challenges I've had
- 18:38Speaker 5: in my life and, and, I do not pretend I'm
- 18:42Speaker 5: somebody that I'm not.
- 18:43Speaker 3: I don't rely on anybody else.
- 18:45Speaker 5: And so for someone like me, you know, I just
- 18:48Speaker 5: kind of like laugh things off because I'm just like, okay, okay,
- 18:51Speaker 5: what are you going to say now?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Like, my hair is not blonde? Correct. I'm a brunette. Like, what? Like,
- 18:58Speaker 3: go after me.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Like, you know.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Oh, I had an augmentation. Yes. And I also had
- 19:03Speaker 3: a breast cancer scare. Like, enjoy yourself. Would you like more? Like,
- 19:06Speaker 3: I don't have any. Yeah. I don't, I'm not, I'm
- 19:10Speaker 3: not afraid of them. I'm not afraid of them. That's
- 19:12Speaker 3: why when, that's why in 2009- this iconic scene of
- 19:18Speaker 3: me saying, I'm up here and you're down there had
- 19:22Speaker 3: nothing to do with social demographics.
- 19:24Speaker 5: It had to do with the adult in the room.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Like if you cannot play nicely in the sandbox, I'm
- 19:29Speaker 5: going to be up here. I'm going to guide you
- 19:31Speaker 5: to make better decisions. And if you don't go forth
- 19:33Speaker 5: and prosper, but if you're not going to play well
- 19:36Speaker 5: with friends and be nice to other people, then.
- 19:38Speaker 3: You're going to be down there. And that's what it was.
- 19:41Speaker 3: And everybody kind of thought it was something else, which
- 19:43Speaker 3: like love it or hate it. It was iconic. whatever
- 19:46Speaker 3: you can't, you know.
- 19:48Speaker 2: It's one of the clips that I'm sure I'll see
- 19:50Speaker 2: as I continue to investigate into the house.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I can't wait. People use it everywhere.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Then Cameron Diaz used it. Remember? She's like with me,
- 20:00Speaker 3: without me. I was like, that's amazing.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah. See, this is a cultural phenomenon. that I'm finding out,
- 20:07Speaker 2: and as I enter into it, my whole world has
- 20:09Speaker 2: been opened up to something I never knew existed. This
- 20:24Speaker 2: is a trip to Atlanta, as we mentioned. They are...
- 20:29Speaker 2: Vicky is not wanting to go to these... the drag performance, uh,
- 20:36Speaker 2: the drag show. Um, she said, they're all the same.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I don't know. I've never been, uh, but I think
- 20:42Speaker 2: this is more of a thing that it was being
- 20:45Speaker 2: done to bring these ladies together into something that so
- 20:49Speaker 2: many of them probably don't go on their own, or
- 20:52Speaker 2: if they have, you know, lives outside of it and
- 20:54Speaker 2: are selling insurance, they don't find much time to step
- 20:57Speaker 2: away from their normal day to day to just go
- 21:00Speaker 2: let loose. But this is where Nini, uh, Leakes shows
- 21:05Speaker 2: up and surprises the Housewives by appearing on stage. And
- 21:10Speaker 2: everyone is very excited to see her, Kelly.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 5: I mean, but first, let's start at the beginning. I
- 21:18Speaker 5: love how you're asking all these questions because it's like
- 21:20Speaker 5: they're so loaded and they're so good and juicy.
- 21:23Speaker 3: So, number one, the gay community. the housewives, I mean,
- 21:27Speaker 3: is massive.
- 21:28Speaker 5: You know, the LGBTQ plus community is so huge and
- 21:32Speaker 5: they love the housewives.
- 21:34Speaker 3: And you know why they love the housewives?
- 21:35Speaker 5: It's because all of us kind of look like drag queens.
- 21:39Speaker 5: I mean, all the makeup, all the eyelashes, all the boobs.
- 21:43Speaker 3: All the clothes. I mean, sometimes I'm like, I don't
- 21:46Speaker 3: even look like myself. I'm like, who am I?
- 21:48Speaker 5: And I thought it was really fun, the drag show too,
- 21:52Speaker 5: because it's, the drag queens are making so much fun
- 21:57Speaker 5: of the housewives. And so some people take it well
- 22:00Speaker 5: and some people don't.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah, the big hair, the outfits, it is a thing.
- 22:04Speaker 2: And it's, you know what, as somebody who is very
- 22:07Speaker 2: far removed from all of that, it is fun for
- 22:11Speaker 2: me to watch. And it is at times just even
- 22:16Speaker 2: watching the costume parties and the things that are done
- 22:21Speaker 2: and how much people get made up for these things. Um,
- 22:26Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever spent more than 20 minutes
- 22:28Speaker 2: on my, in my life, getting ready for something ever.
- 22:32Speaker 2: The idea that you wake up early in the morning
- 22:34Speaker 2: to start getting ready for the thing that's going to
- 22:36Speaker 2: happen that afternoon is a wild thought to me. Uh,
- 22:40Speaker 2: but it is enjoyable for me to watch. I don't
- 22:42Speaker 2: necessarily want to participate in it, but it is fun
- 22:44Speaker 2: for me to watch and, This is where things, and Kelly,
- 22:48Speaker 2: I'd really like you to step in because there's so
- 22:50Speaker 2: much of it I don't understand and that I'm just
- 22:53Speaker 2: catching up with again. But this is where we do
- 22:56Speaker 2: see Nene, as I said, come and show up. There
- 22:59Speaker 2: is a bit of a confrontation between Giselle and Nene
- 23:05Speaker 2: talking about something that Nene said to Karen about beating
- 23:11Speaker 2: Giselle up.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Like what?
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you have any insight into this for me?
- 23:18Speaker 3: I mean, I.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Admire Giselle for bringing it up. I mean, I don't
- 23:23Speaker 5: think Nene is going to beat her up. I think
- 23:27Speaker 5: that they, you know, that's what happens in some of
- 23:30Speaker 5: these conversations. Like if you're with a friend, like you
- 23:32Speaker 5: and I could be like drinking beer and talking about
- 23:35Speaker 5: all this, you know, shooting the shit and like saying
- 23:37Speaker 5: all this stuff. And then you go back to Ashley
- 23:40Speaker 5: and be like, Kelly just said this. And it's kind
- 23:42Speaker 5: of like that. But these women take things because they're
- 23:46Speaker 5: almost famous. They take the context of anything that's said
- 23:50Speaker 5: and they.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Just blow it out of the water. It's part of
- 23:54Speaker 3: the game. It's part of the game.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but it is nice. There is something very healthy
- 24:02Speaker 2: for me when confrontation is had and it feels like
- 24:05Speaker 2: there's some type of healing and forgiveness given. but this
- 24:09Speaker 2: is kind of for a little bit of focus on
- 24:11Speaker 2: Nini and her story. We then see her talk about, um,
- 24:14Speaker 2: the passing of, uh, of her husband, Greg. She does
- 24:18Speaker 2: mention she is dating again. We do get to meet
- 24:21Speaker 2: this guy. It's not a secret who she's dating. It's
- 24:24Speaker 2: been out there all over the internet for a while. Yeah. She,
- 24:28Speaker 2: she talks about getting married again, says she doesn't need to,
- 24:32Speaker 2: but she wants to be treated like a wife, uh,
- 24:34Speaker 2: which is wonderful. Her boyfriend currently, uh, and her have
- 24:39Speaker 2: been dating for four years, he impresses the room, it
- 24:43Speaker 2: feels like, when he walks in. I think when he
- 24:47Speaker 2: shows up, eyes are turned. He's a good-looking fella, and
- 24:52Speaker 2: he dresses so nice. Yeah, he does.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Did you like him?
- 24:57Speaker 2: Well, I Googled him and just saw some of his
- 25:00Speaker 2: recent outfits, just so I could maybe copy some of them.
- 25:05Speaker 2: That's what I do.
- 25:05Speaker 3: You're like, this is how I wear a scarf. This
- 25:08Speaker 3: is the cologne of choice. No, Vicky, remember? She was obsessed.
- 25:11Speaker 3: I was amazing. Oh, my God. That lit her up
- 25:15Speaker 3: like a Christmas tree. There you go, Vicky.
- 25:17Speaker 2: That's what I was going to say. We got to
- 25:19Speaker 2: see her come to life a little bit. Like, hey,
- 25:21Speaker 2: screw insurance. I got this. That's nice.
- 25:25Speaker 3: I got eye candy. I took to Atlanta.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I loved it. Good for them all.
- 25:32Speaker 3: True story.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Now, moving on from the drag show, we do have
- 25:37Speaker 2: the alter ego party.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 2: What alter ego stood out to you? I mean, we
- 25:42Speaker 2: could go through the whole list, but there's so many
- 25:44Speaker 2: of them. Is there any that really like jumped off
- 25:46Speaker 2: at you or like that's perfect or hey, that was
- 25:48Speaker 2: done so poorly?
- 25:50Speaker 3: I mean, I kind of thought Luann. Like Luann. Come on.
- 25:56Speaker 3: She's like her alter ego is the Countess.
- 25:58Speaker 2: A cabaret. Yeah, a cabaret performer.
- 26:01Speaker 5: I mean, literally, if you've ever spent one second with her,
- 26:04Speaker 5: she will be talking about herself. She breaks into song
- 26:08Speaker 5: because there's a word that triggered something in her, so
- 26:11Speaker 5: she starts singing.
- 26:12Speaker 3: And then she leaves.
- 26:13Speaker 2: And you're like, what's happening?
- 26:16Speaker 3: You're like, oh, okay, I guess it's done. I guess
- 26:21Speaker 3: we're leaving.
- 26:21Speaker 2: That's how she communicates then.
- 26:23Speaker 3: That's how she communicates with herself. It's one way. And
- 26:28Speaker 3: then there's a song. There's always a song.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Do you feel like when you're around her, do you
- 26:32Speaker 2: get to know anything about her?
- 26:34Speaker 3: No. Yeah, no.
- 26:35Speaker 2: It's kind of fun. There's no pressure.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I mean, I learn a lot.
- 26:39Speaker 5: I mean, I know a lot of lyrics, which I
- 26:41Speaker 5: do happen to know. So I can actually sing along.
- 26:43Speaker 5: So we have, you know, I get along great with her.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I'll just sing.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Is there any other that stood out to you?
- 26:50Speaker 3: I actually, so I interviewed Ashley and I think she's
- 26:53Speaker 3: so fun.
- 26:53Speaker 5: I interviewed her when she was on Love Hotel and
- 26:57Speaker 5: she is such a spicy girl.
- 27:00Speaker 3: And then I was like, first of all, her outfit
- 27:03Speaker 3: was amazing.
- 27:05Speaker 5: But then I'm like, wait a minute, she's trying to
- 27:08Speaker 5: go out with Kyle's husband. I mean, they're literally not separate.
- 27:12Speaker 5: They're not separated. They are just not together yet. But
- 27:15Speaker 5: they're legally still married and they're not divorced. So there's
- 27:20Speaker 5: a lot of paperwork that has to happen to get
- 27:23Speaker 5: to that point. It's because they're not sleeping in the
- 27:25Speaker 5: same bed. Doesn't mean they're still not married.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Well, that's a huge part of this episode too. I mean,
- 27:32Speaker 2: Kyle sees Ashley and confronts the situation.
- 27:37Speaker 3: I know.
- 27:39Speaker 2: It's not like Mauricio has been quiet about his... Right.
- 27:43Speaker 2: We've talked about it almost every episode during this as
- 27:45Speaker 2: Kyle and Mauricio have shown up a few times together,
- 27:48Speaker 2: but also been talked about together. He is out there,
- 27:52Speaker 2: married or not. He is doing his thing. And, you know,
- 27:56Speaker 2: Kyle is handling it in the best way possible. But
- 28:01Speaker 2: I'm assuming just because Ashley is connected to the Housewives
- 28:04Speaker 2: franchise means it's a little bit more personal.
- 28:07Speaker 3: I mean, it's kind of like, it's almost like shitting
- 28:09Speaker 3: where you eat. You know what I mean? It's like,
- 28:11Speaker 3: these are your friends. Like, and you know, I'm going
- 28:14Speaker 3: to quote Luann like with her girl code.
- 28:17Speaker 5: So, I mean, I just think it's not cool to
- 28:20Speaker 5: date guys that are your husband.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I mean, I would never date someone's, my friend's ex-husband.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Like that's just not who I am.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:27Speaker 3: But yeah, I just was like, whoa. Yeah.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:31Speaker 3: It was like, they just had a 30th anniversary. I
- 28:33Speaker 3: felt really badly for Kyle.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Cause like we started off the whole episode with like
- 28:38Speaker 5: her anniversary and how she's thinking about that and how
- 28:41Speaker 5: she's feeling. And I just felt, I just like my
- 28:44Speaker 5: heart like sunk for her. I was like, you know,
- 28:47Speaker 5: they do, they were 30 year old marriage.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I mean, it hurts.
- 28:52Speaker 2: It hurts. And it feels like there's, I don't know. I'm,
- 28:56Speaker 2: I'm reading into things, but it feels like there's more
- 28:58Speaker 2: pain there. than what's being communicated or shown. There's a,
- 29:05Speaker 2: there feels like there is just a lot of like residual,
- 29:07Speaker 2: just feeling. We've gotten to see Kyle more than Mauricio.
- 29:12Speaker 2: So like, it makes sense on why I would say
- 29:15Speaker 2: it feels like there's a lot of emotion that Kyle
- 29:19Speaker 2: is holding onto still from that whole thing. But yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 2: good for Kyle to approach and to, Dive into the conversation.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Ashley says, hey, I was not flirting with him. I
- 29:36Speaker 2: think it'd be hard to admit and say, yeah, of course,
- 29:39Speaker 2: I was all about that guy.
- 29:41Speaker 5: I mean, Ashley is smoking hot. So, I mean, Maurizio, sorry,
- 29:46Speaker 5: he'd be like, woo!
- 29:47Speaker 2: Yeah, there's that side of that.
- 29:50Speaker 5: But they are both, I mean, but, you know, in
- 29:53Speaker 5: Ashley's defense... you know, they are both open about dating
- 29:58Speaker 5: people and, you know, what they've been doing and how
- 30:01Speaker 5: they've been living their lives since the separation. So it's
- 30:03Speaker 5: not something that's like new to the fans where we're
- 30:06Speaker 5: not like shocked, but I think there was.
- 30:09Speaker 3: A kind of like, okay, this is, this is a,
- 30:14Speaker 3: this is still a family unit and, you know, just,
- 30:18Speaker 3: you know, have respect for that.
- 30:21Speaker 2: It ends with Ashley telling Kyle that, that she would
- 30:24Speaker 2: never pursue Mauricio. And it does seem like, again, in
- 30:29Speaker 2: great Housewives fashion, the drama is resolved.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Is it, though?
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Is it ever resolved?
- 30:37Speaker 2: Is it? I mean, how many times in your experience
- 30:40Speaker 2: has a situation like this happened on Housewives? It seems
- 30:44Speaker 2: like on camera there's some resolution, but it lingers, right?
- 30:49Speaker 2: It just does. Like, it's still... again, if you were
- 30:51Speaker 2: sitting back with your one friend having a drink at
- 30:55Speaker 2: the corner of the bar, like there's a good chance
- 30:57Speaker 2: it's still brought up with a little bit of tension, right?
- 30:59Speaker 5: I mean, it's interesting because I retired in 2011. I
- 31:03Speaker 5: just was like, my kids are young and I really
- 31:05Speaker 5: needed to focus on, you know, business and really just
- 31:09Speaker 5: making sure that they had a great education. And so
- 31:13Speaker 5: I came back a couple of seasons and every time
- 31:15Speaker 5: I'd come back, I'd be like, I guess I didn't
- 31:18Speaker 5: miss anything.
- 31:19Speaker 3: It's been six years. We're still the same.
- 31:22Speaker 5: And on Ultimate Girls Trip, like literally one of the
- 31:26Speaker 5: housewives was watching Scary Island on while we were filming.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I'm like, you're watching me? What?
- 31:38Speaker 2: What was their reasoning? Just to learn more?
- 31:41Speaker 5: I was like, I'm dead here.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I was like, wow. Okay. Keep watching.
- 31:46Speaker 5: Like do you want popcorn with, with my movie?
- 31:49Speaker 3: Like you can't make that up.
- 31:51Speaker 2: You can't, you can't make that up.
- 31:53Speaker 4: No.
- 31:54Speaker 2: And so when you're on these, do you have access
- 31:57Speaker 2: to everything like phone and iPad?
- 32:01Speaker 3: Everything.
- 32:02Speaker 2: I'd probably be Googling everybody too. I just, there's so
- 32:04Speaker 2: many characters here to keep track of. I'd be watching
- 32:08Speaker 2: everything I could have everybody.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 5: I mean, I think that's what's great about this show.
- 32:13Speaker 5: That was a really good point, is that some of
- 32:15Speaker 5: the people, like Vicky, hadn't watched a lot of shows.
- 32:18Speaker 3: And some people knew each other and some people didn't.
- 32:22Speaker 5: And I think that's also really interesting, too, because you
- 32:26Speaker 5: kind of have to tell the fans.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Where you are and where you were and how.
- 32:32Speaker 5: You kind of got there. Because people need to know.
- 32:34Speaker 5: And you can actually re-narrate. Because the fans are kind
- 32:38Speaker 5: of like, well, I remember this, but I don't remember everything.
- 32:41Speaker 5: So you can kind of re-narrate your storyline, which is
- 32:45Speaker 5: also very interesting.
- 32:46Speaker 3: And I see people doing that quite a lot.
- 32:49Speaker 2: I did have to Google it because I didn't see it.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Which part?
- 32:53Speaker 2: I don't know. There's just this picture. It was the
- 32:55Speaker 2: first one that came up.
- 32:56Speaker 3: I know. That was my jelly bean scene. And so
- 33:00Speaker 3: every time they're like, oh, my God, you eat jelly beans.
- 33:04Speaker 3: I'm like, I actually eat a lot of candy. I
- 33:06Speaker 3: love sweets.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Um, and then, and they're like, why did you bring
- 33:10Speaker 5: jelly beans into a scene? I was like, well, I
- 33:11Speaker 5: just didn't have dinner.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I was kind of hungry and I had to go
- 33:15Speaker 3: back and finish out the scene. And everyone's like, what?
- 33:18Speaker 3: I'm like, what?
- 33:20Speaker 2: What makes it weird? I had sugar for dinner. It works.
- 33:23Speaker 3: I mean, whatever.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Hey, in closing here, Giselle, Portia, Angie Kay, Mary Cosby,
- 33:41Speaker 2: and Heather Gay, they chat. I'm going to have you
- 33:45Speaker 2: walk me through this because it feels like there's a
- 33:48Speaker 2: lot of twists and turns here, obviously ending with a confrontation.
- 33:52Speaker 2: But if you could properly explain to our audience and
- 33:55Speaker 2: myself kind of where who's involved and where this goes
- 33:59Speaker 2: and why it goes to the place it goes, I
- 34:01Speaker 2: think that'd be really helpful.
- 34:02Speaker 3: So just from my understanding, they're kind of saying how, um,
- 34:09Speaker 3: Whitney and Bronwyn and Lisa, Lisa Barlow does not like
- 34:12Speaker 3: the other housewives.
- 34:13Speaker 5: And they say things like to Lisa, like you have
- 34:16Speaker 5: all your money comes from, you know, other men and
- 34:19Speaker 5: you're not who you look like. You're actually have a
- 34:22Speaker 5: facelift and they're just constantly going after her and her business.
- 34:28Speaker 3: I'm not exactly sure why. Some of the things too,
- 34:33Speaker 3: I'm not going to lie, as a housewife, Sometimes I'm.
- 34:37Speaker 5: Like, how did we get here? Like, I'm like a
- 34:40Speaker 5: timeline kind of person. I'm like, starts with one, then
- 34:43Speaker 5: goes to two.
- 34:44Speaker 3: What happened?
- 34:46Speaker 5: But they, you know, Whitney and Bronwyn, they do not
- 34:49Speaker 5: like her. And there is a separation. And Lisa's like,
- 34:54Speaker 5: I'm having the best time with everybody else. And I've
- 34:56Speaker 5: met Lisa many times and she's lovely. And they just
- 35:00Speaker 5: are like, basically like there's a line in the sand
- 35:03Speaker 5: and she is not on our team.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Now, am I wrong to say that to me it
- 35:10Speaker 2: feels like most other housewives get along, but Salt Lake
- 35:16Speaker 2: City does feel like the one group of housewives that
- 35:19Speaker 2: continually gets isolated when it comes to the others. It
- 35:24Speaker 2: doesn't seem to me like a lot of other cities
- 35:26Speaker 2: like the Salt Lake City housewives. Am I wrong?
- 35:31Speaker 3: I agree.
- 35:32Speaker 5: I think there's a ton of friction between I think
- 35:36Speaker 5: it's a very, you know, it's a state that has
- 35:40Speaker 5: a lot of restrictions.
- 35:43Speaker 3: It's cold as shit.
- 35:47Speaker 2: It is. Yeah, I live right next to it.
- 35:52Speaker 3: I just, I don't know.
- 35:53Speaker 5: I honestly don't know, like, why there's just so much
- 35:56Speaker 5: drama all the time.
- 35:57Speaker 3: I don't even know where these people come from.
- 35:59Speaker 2: So the.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Issue with Lisa and why the gals are mad. It
- 36:03Speaker 4: also comes from this housewives thing where if other women
- 36:06Speaker 4: have to be super honest and their gets drug out
- 36:10Speaker 4: into the ether and then somebody's like playing fake and
- 36:14Speaker 4: like hiding their stuff. That's when they all start to
- 36:17Speaker 4: pile on and they're like, your life isn't perfect. You
- 36:20Speaker 4: actually do X, Y, Z, X, Y, Z, X, Y, Z.
- 36:22Speaker 4: And they like out somebody. And it's a way of
- 36:25Speaker 4: getting the heat off of them because you'll see it.
- 36:28Speaker 4: It happens all the time now with Kyle. Kyle was
- 36:32Speaker 4: keeping her, you know, divorce and marriage stuff like a
- 36:35Speaker 4: secret for the longest time that they weren't living together.
- 36:37Speaker 4: And finally the girl started to like out her and
- 36:40Speaker 4: we're like, fess up, something's going on in your marriage,
- 36:43Speaker 4: talk about it, talk about it. And like, so that's
- 36:46Speaker 4: what happens is everybody's like, we put our lives on
- 36:49Speaker 4: the line, we signed up to do real. And when
- 36:51Speaker 4: they find out that somebody in the group isn't being
- 36:54Speaker 4: their authentic self and they all are, they start to
- 36:58Speaker 4: pile up on that person. And I think that's what
- 37:00Speaker 4: you're seeing with Lisa.
- 37:01Speaker 2: I mean, I think that's a great breakdown. I mean, Heather,
- 37:04Speaker 2: I appreciate you always chiming in with your expert analysis because-
- 37:09Speaker 2: It does bring clarity to, you know, the stuff I
- 37:13Speaker 2: am confused by with my lack of history.
- 37:16Speaker 5: You know, I mean, I even know for my own self,
- 37:19Speaker 5: like back in the beginning, in the ice age when
- 37:21Speaker 5: I was on, um, and even today it's like, I
- 37:25Speaker 5: am so open because I'm on so many different platforms
- 37:28Speaker 5: and doing so many different things.
- 37:30Speaker 3: And I don't, I don't want to gatekeep. I mean,
- 37:33Speaker 3: I was an editor.
- 37:35Speaker 5: That's my job is to not gatekeep. My job is
- 37:37Speaker 5: to celebrate and tell everyone everything. And so I find
- 37:41Speaker 5: it too really hard when people just like, just go
- 37:43Speaker 5: after me because they're deflecting.
- 37:45Speaker 3: They don't want you to talk about them. So they
- 37:48Speaker 3: go after you and it happens time and time and
- 37:50Speaker 3: time again.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Now, do you think it happens more Kelly as seasons progress?
- 37:58Speaker 2: Because I have a feeling at the beginning when it's
- 38:01Speaker 2: like season one, everybody's pretty excited to be there. And
- 38:04Speaker 2: they're like, I want to make sure I got my
- 38:06Speaker 2: TV time. I want to make sure that I make
- 38:08Speaker 2: my big splash. And then seasons progress and the almost
- 38:12Speaker 2: famous label moves into more of like a famous lane.
- 38:17Speaker 2: And the more famous you become, the more you protect.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Sorry to interrupt you, but it's infamous for your antics.
- 38:25Speaker 5: You're not famous. Like we're not actresses. We're not famous people.
- 38:30Speaker 5: We are reality stars. We become more famous. interesting to
- 38:35Speaker 5: real people because hey you know Ashley went through this
- 38:39Speaker 5: Kelly went through that so we become more like people
- 38:44Speaker 5: identify with us but we're not famous we're not stars
- 38:49Speaker 5: like we are on reality it's a totally different level
- 38:53Speaker 5: and I think that's what happens to a lot of
- 38:55Speaker 5: these ladies.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Did I say that out.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Loud yeah it just gets it gets in their head
- 39:00Speaker 2: a little bit it does it happens it's not uncommon.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Oh my God. They tell me all the time. They're like,
- 39:06Speaker 3: I'm so famous. I'm like, okay, great. What do you,
- 39:09Speaker 3: what do you, what do you do? What do you
- 39:12Speaker 3: do for a living? They're like, what? I'm like, what
- 39:15Speaker 3: do you do for a living? What's your job? Like,
- 39:17Speaker 3: are you famous for being a heart surgeon? Like Kelly,
- 39:21Speaker 3: I'm on television. Oh, sorry. Yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 2: That's, that's a reality one-on-one. But you can fill out BravoCon,
- 39:29Speaker 2: which is an impressive feature. feat in itself. So say
- 39:32Speaker 2: what you will. No, I love it. Yeah, it's great.
- 39:36Speaker 5: I'm just saying in terms of the hierarchy of stardom,
- 39:40Speaker 5: we are not.
- 39:40Speaker 3: We are not.
- 39:42Speaker 5: You know, we're not, we're, I mean, we do, we're
- 39:45Speaker 5: recognized and recognizable for our antics, but we're not, you know.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Well, and you make a good point with your infamous
- 39:51Speaker 2: for your antics. And so if the antics start getting
- 39:54Speaker 2: covered and not, and you're getting a little more protective,
- 39:58Speaker 2: which I think is a completely fair human right to say, hey,
- 40:01Speaker 2: I don't want this stuff aired out any longer. But
- 40:04Speaker 2: then you are making the choice to step away probably
- 40:07Speaker 2: from the thing that got you to that point. And
- 40:10Speaker 2: I can see where the rub would be with other
- 40:12Speaker 2: contestants saying, hey, your stuff is getting covered up and
- 40:15Speaker 2: you're protecting it so much. And we're out here carrying
- 40:18Speaker 2: the weight of a franchise and you're, you know, getting
- 40:22Speaker 2: the credit for it. I can see how that happens.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Well, that's, remember we.
- 40:25Speaker 5: Were talking before about when you, you know, like when
- 40:29Speaker 5: I first started and then I came back a couple
- 40:31Speaker 5: of seasons and I was like, the same conversations were
- 40:34Speaker 5: still happening. So to your point, sometimes you just get
- 40:37Speaker 5: exhausted and it's just like, the constant like almost badgering
- 40:43Speaker 5: of like, why did that happen to you? What did
- 40:46Speaker 5: you do to make that happen? Like, I am so
- 40:49Speaker 5: great and I would never have that happen to you,
- 40:50Speaker 5: but you're awful and you're terrible.
- 40:55Speaker 3: And so it just, it is, it's a constant.
- 40:56Speaker 5: And so you try to protect yourself in any way
- 40:59Speaker 5: that you can.
- 41:00Speaker 3: And the best way in.
- 41:03Speaker 5: The strategy of housewives to be a great housewife is
- 41:07Speaker 5: to be an amazing deflector. um that's like if you're
- 41:11Speaker 5: a great deflector you're golden.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah so when somebody starts.
- 41:16Speaker 3: I'm just teaching you the inside scoop i.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Could be a housewife yeah you could.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Be been the housewife.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah wouldn't that be good i'd be down for it
- 41:24Speaker 2: all all right we see the preview for next week
- 41:27Speaker 2: uh we see some uh other familiar faces show up
- 41:31Speaker 2: and uh the arguing with lisa heather and angie continues Kelly,
- 41:36Speaker 2: is there any chance, as I continue watching The Ultimate
- 41:39Speaker 2: Girls Trip, the roaring 20th, that I could watch you
- 41:45Speaker 2: on my television during this?
- 41:47Speaker 3: Maybe. Be careful what you ask for, Ben.
- 41:51Speaker 2: There is a chance that we will see you on
- 41:54Speaker 2: the big screen.
- 41:55Speaker 3: You never know.
- 41:57Speaker 2: And now I'm getting nervous. I'm back talking to a
- 42:01Speaker 2: reality star, this iconic legend of the franchise. who is
- 42:06Speaker 2: coming back on my television. I'm going to have to
- 42:07Speaker 2: break down your appearance at some point. Kelly, you have
- 42:13Speaker 2: a new show on E that has been announced. It's
- 42:17Speaker 2: with the OG New York Housewives called The Golden Life.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Anything you want to tease about that?
- 42:22Speaker 3: I mean, you just can't make this up. You just
- 42:26Speaker 3: can't make it up.
- 42:28Speaker 2: So good. Just never stops.
- 42:30Speaker 3: I mean, Mondays are my day off and I'm like, wait,
- 42:33Speaker 3: I kind of miss them.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Oh, why?
- 42:35Speaker 2: Because of all the like.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Just fun.
- 42:38Speaker 5: It's like just it's fun, but it's also like nuts.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Like I'm just like, oh, my God. Like we're back.
- 42:46Speaker 3: We're back.
- 42:46Speaker 2: We're back. I think that's the best teaser is we're back.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Keep it. And I think everybody's going to love it.
- 42:54Speaker 2: You also can catch Kelly as she is part of
